Excellent service from Randy. Breakfast was very good - eggs, potatoes and bacon. Neighbor table had biscuits and gravy. I WILL have that the next time.

always my go to stop because of the best server in the world martini <3 great food and even lovelier people

I don't expect a lot from airport food but this was really good. I am so glad we gave it a try. Tasty and filling at a reasonable price.

Don't hesitate to pop in here for a quick meal, the service at our breakfast was very friendly, the meal was good and the view was great!

If you have to hang out at a restaurant in an airport, this place is a nice one. Nice selection of wines and a nice, but limited, menu

Slow service, especially for travelers in an airport setting. Would have been nice to have someone serving who is familiar with the wine.

If you have the Priority club access card, you get a $28 credit for this restaurant. For a couple, it's a whopping $56 good for food and alcohol. Very diverse menu. Tried the pasta and it was great. Very friendly, competent staff. Highly recommended. Oh, and they have a good selection of draught beers.

Capers is always a decent place for good food at a reasonable price. Nothing special, but reliable. The ham and mushroom omelet was large enough for the two of us and we shared a fruit plate. The taste was what I would expect of a standard omelet made with ordinary ham and mushrooms. No gourmet varieties, but tasty and filling. The potatoes were the highlight. Too often you get either hash browns or deep fried potato cubes that purport to be home fries. But these were genuine home fries. Sauteed perfectly. If they added some onions and green peppers these would truly be worth the price of admission.

Great restaurant in Portland airport! The $6 all day mimosa special caught my eye and when I checked out the restaurant I realized it was a local one. Menu was great. I had the patty melt and it was awesome. Jake was my server and he was wonderful and attentive even though he was so busy. Thank you Jake for the great service! You can see the staff cooking and they are quick! Everyone I talked with who worked there was so friendly like they enjoyed their job. After a horrible day of having to rebook my delayed flights it was so nice to relax at Capers. Fabulous wine selection.

If u have a priority pass this definitely has to be the place u come for breakfast! I went to all the priority pass locations and apart from the other capers market (which had great sauses and souvenir 28$ per person) capers cafe had great food! I had a build ur own omelette that also came with house fries. I loved this place and at 28$PP I was also able to get some other stuff to go eg cookies/side salad. Our server Brenda was also 10/10

Sat at the bar. Tiffany and Nicole were the BEST! Had the fruit and cheese plate - fabulous. My husband had the sting salad with salmon and loved it! Great find!

We've never had a bad meal or bad experience and we stop here every time we are headed out of town. Nicole makes the best bloody mary's and all the staff is friendly--even at 5am! We often grab a meal for the plane and they are quick to pack it up for us exactly as we need it,food allergies make airplane food really difficult! Capers always starts our trip off on a good note!

...mainly because you're already through the holiday thrash of TSA/security by the time you sit down to a wonderful array of wines. We went to the airport several hours early to return home after Thanksgiving. Even though security could've been a smoother, more efficient process; we had time to spare on "the other side". Since PennAir uses B gates and Capers Café et le Bar were right there; we decided to relax at the wine bar. Didn't order any food (post Thanksgiving, remember?) - but their offerings looked delish. Instead we star at the wine bar. We love wine and were very impressed with their vast list - it covers a wide range of prices, types and a large assortment of NW wineries as well as some international ones. Our server could not have been more helpful in selecting a bottle (they were out of our first choice; but we loved the one she recommended instead). "Sylvia B" was our server and she made the wait and our visit to Capers very enjoyable... so much that we will be sure to allot time to visit them again on future flights in & out of Portland. Thanks for adding a relaxing and pleasant element to an otherwise hectic trip.

We are happy to have discovered this breakfast spot in Portland International Airport and have eaten there several times. I had a breakfast burrito with fresh fruit and my husband had an omelet with cheese, mushrooms and whole wheat toast on the side. The food was fresh, flavorful, attractively presented and delivered in a timely manner. Definitely will make this our go-to airport breakfast spot!

Wow ... for airport food ... friendly, quick and 3 egg meat lovers omelet ... airport prices but scratch made and filling for the price ...

Deli type cafe with cold and hot food options and a large variety of wine to choose from. Just outside the TSA on your way to the gate. Can get busy with a small seating area or food to go.

What a great breakfast! Good coffee, Friendly fast service. Conveniently located. Sit down or take out. Just what we needed before heading to our gate. Big shout out to Juana our delightful server.

The slow service is giving me plenty of time to write this review. The place is maybe 75% full. Took about 15 minutes to take our order. Our coffee came about 15 minutes later. Now we are 35 minutes in and still waiting for our food. Hmmm. Well the place is convenient at least. Plenty of tables. Nice place to people-watch. 45 minutes in. No food yet. Food finally came. Tastes great. Overall a good choice if you have plenty of time.

I feel like at any airport restaurant you’ll just have average or okay food, never great. Capers fits the average category for me and personally I think it’s one of the best restaurants if you’re wanting to utilize that priority pass of yours ($28/person). You have the option of dining in or taking away. With even tight connections in PDX, you can get a warm meal in just 10-15 minutes if you decide to take away. Allow yourself at least 30-45 minutes if you decide to dine in. Service can be slow but the waiters understand that you’re trying to make your flights so let them know in advance and they’ll work with you on getting you in and out. Typical options are your normal breakfast foods (eggs, bacon, sausage, etc) as well as sandwiches and salads for lunch. They have warm/hot dishes such as the Vodka Marinara or Tortellini and evening a Brie Burger. Their burger isn’t bad although it can be quite messy if you took it away and ate it on the plane. The vodka marinara is okay, nothing special except pricey ($16-17). If you decide to utilize your priority pass, make sure to order a hot dish, a water, a bag of chips, pasta salad or even candy. Remember the no sales tax applies here since you’re in Oregon!

We found a quick lunch with a tasty Greek Salad and Romaine, Ham & Pea Salad! Both were fresh and tasty not dried out and boring. Both were tasty and served on real dishes, not the usual cardboard or styrofoam. We are very frequent travelers and respect this kind of effort to provide food at a higher level than most airport eateries. Staff were quick and courteous and the restaurant was clean and had seating out of the fray. We will be back!

We arrived a bit early for our flight and a champagne seemed in order. Capers is just after security(on both ends). We were on Concourse C. Mimosas and/or champagne are only $5 each. Friendly service.

Centrally located at PDX, with seating and service (although slow). Pastrami sandwich and salmon soup were good. Wines, but go down the hall for craft beers. Usual airport prices.

I've been here a few times with my priority card and came again when flying out. The staff is always nice and easy to order from. They have consistently asked when my flight is to ensure i have enough time when ordering a sit down meal. I had an omelette with a side of bacon--very well made and more than enough food! The waitress also asked if I wanted a bottle of water, as I still had some money before hitting my limit for priority card.

We have dined at this location many times. There are many excellent menu choices and they almost always have new specials not on the menu that are outstanding. In addition to the great food, they have some outstanding beer and wine choices. The wait staff is very friendly and service oriented.

Really great dinner especially for airport dining. It is just inside the gate security and right in the hub of gate traffic, so it cannot be accessed unless you are boarding a flight. Very good variety of food. The grilled salmon over risotto was excellent. It is great food to go. It has an open seating area and you will be able to watch the rush of travelers getting to their gates.

We sat for 40 minutes after ordering, and after three progressively urgent requests to get our vegetable panini and a platter of 3 cold salads. “Panini” consisted of lettuce, tomato, cucumber and red onion on a small roll. Had a glass of Capers Pinot Noir. $12 for small glass, with residue of cleaning compound. Skip this place.

We had 35 mins until boarding and were hungry for breakfast. Service was quick and friendly. Our omelettes arrived 10 mins after ordering and were oozing cheesy goodness. We particularly enjoyed the garlic Rosemary breakfast potatoes with kale! Waitstaff were very accommodating and coffee often refilled.

I fly through Portland regularly and make it a point to stop in at Capers. It is very easy as it is in the center of the airport and the service and food is wonderful.

We were at the airport looking for food, this place has an earthy Oregon feel about it, so we gave it a shot. Yuk . Breakfast burrito mostly potato and dough, reheated croissant and coffee grounds included in the cup.. Head for concourse D instead

When I don't have time for breakfast before an early flight, I stop here. The service is always fast and friendly. The food is consistently good, although with the breakfast potatoes, the cooks are heavy on the garlic. A little less would be nice. The food is priced reasonably for an airport location.

I stopped by at Capers Cafe for brunch before my flight. Located right after you clear security, you are asked to seat yourself at this restaurant. Service was good even with it being busy at the time. They had a lot of employees manning the restaurant and as far as I can tell, they were efficient. Had their special of the day, Mediterranean hash, that comes along with breakfast potatoes and toast. Food was good and filling. Using Priority Pass was a breeze. Will stop by again in the future.

We had time in the Portland, OR airport on two occasions in one week. Both of those times we spent our time at Capers Cafe and Wine Bar. Out of the window we could see a snow-topped mountain. It was our first trip to the area so it was beautiful. The second time we sat at the wine bar. That was fun because we had conversations with several people going different places from different places. Each had a different perspective on Oregon. In both situations the time flew by. We enjoyed the wine and the food. We would highly recommend this restaurant for those passing through the Portland airport.

Ordered a couple of items to go - the ravioli pasta salad and the tabbouleh salad. The Tabbouleh salad was very good but the ravioli salad had too much oil in it.

Nice place to people watch to sit on the edge, near the piano player in the middle as people passed by. Our waitress was friendly, smiling and made our time happy. Breakfast was average at best, dry potatoes, so so breakfast burrito, not my favorite food, but nice experience none the less.

Easy eating, always a table available, central PDX location, open and bright with live music of all sorts playing nearby.

This is a real nice break from standard airport fare. While many airports now have higher quality restaurants, this one is a bit different. The main difference is because the Portland international Airport is the best in the US (believe it!). It is open air in a brightly lit area with high ceilings and next to an area that PDX has set aside for musicians to come and play for you. So you get the feeling of outdoor seating, with a nice wine list and beautiful music to go along with a nice meal. Which by the way, my dinner was very good. One of their chefs pasta dishes and a nice ceasar salad and a nice local Chardonnay. What is not to love

I usually prefer airplane food to airport food which is an obvious indictment but Capers has been an exception on several layovers. Sandwiches, pizza, baked goods all exceed the norm.

During a brief layover I enjoyed a beverage and light meal at the new Capers Market PDX. The bartender was a class act, friendly helpful. Being a weekly solo traveler it is nice to come across those in the service industry who genuinely treat their work as an art and authentically enjoy people. It helps the time pass. I had a turkey sandwich and some libations. This will be a regular stop for me! Note: they do not make food to order, rather they are like a deli with pre-made items. The ingredients however, are all local sourced organic and fresh.

We've stopped here a few times and found the breakfast good, the wines and salads to go just fine. As it's in an airport, we expect it to be a bit pricier. Good for airport dining.

The place looked inviting and the sit down service appealed to us as we had time to kill. The food was bare bones, no frills but the espresso was the worst of my life, really awful. I was surprised as Portland has some of the very best coffee in the US.

Since I arrived at PDX way early I decided to stop here and have breakfast. Unless you're getting something pre-made from their refrigerator, expect a long wait time, even for the simplest dish. I had a breakfast eggs & Ham sandwich - asked for eggs over medium. Everything was overcooked to he point it was hard to cut with a knife. I asked for a glass of water and was told to wait (with a surly look) from the cashier - like I asked him to go down to the well and get it. Oh well! Next time - another place!

First, no one is going to read a review of an airport eatery. We are captive while at airports, although for such a cool city, I will say that PDX has one of the un-coolest eatery selections I have encountered. So, introduction past, I had little time to wait for my flight so grabbed a slice of pizza at Capers. Possibly the worst pizza I ever had, if you don't include the one ... never mind. Limp, doughy, greasy, salty. If I had had a six-pack under my belt, it might have been delicious, but I didn't. Saving grace (sort of), $3.95 a slice. Cheap by airport standards. The poor guy behind the counter was very polite and probably happy to have a job, but deep in his eyes -- PLEASE, PLEASE, GOD, get me out of here. Sorry you read this far. Safe travels.

The Capers Restaurant by the B/C concourse (Alaska, Horizon, Southwest, American, Spirit, Jet Blue) is an actual sit down and be served facility with a bar. They also sell take away salads, pastries, bottled drinks, bottled wine etc. The Capers by the D/E concourse (Delta, United, Hawaiian, Air BC) is not a restaurant. They do have a MUCH larger selection of take away salads, pasteries, wines, local cheeses, yougurts, beverages and coffees. There are a few tables to sit and drink your coffee, but there is no actual table service. Pricing is on the high side. Be careful with the croissants...sometimes you are buying day old stock and you don't know it till you get on your flight.

I was looking for breakfast spot before my flight to SFO and cam across Capers. Ihad both the quiche and frittata. Both were really good. they have a wide variety of food Looking around I can say it was the best option for breakfast at PDX

Dined here today and enjoyed the Greek Meza platter. However, the service left a lot to be desired. I ordered a glass of wine, only to be told they no longer carry it. I asked why it was still on the menu and the waiter could not answer. I ordered a different glass of wine, only to be told they did not have that one either. It appears that they are not well trained and organized.

This review is based on the person who is answering the phones. We were traveling from Seattle to Los Angeles and we had the option of making a layover in Portland. We called the restaurant and the person who answered the phone said the market closed early but that the cafe is open until about 8 pm or later. Our flight arrived at 4:30 pm and we arrived to the restaurant at about 4:45 pm and we saw that they were closed. If you are going to close early, then tell potential customers, don’t just lie to them.

We stopped at the restaurant expecting the normal terrible and over priced garbage----we were wrong!! Martini (Jody) and Amber were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent! This could be a destination restaurant if it wasn't inside of the TSA security area. This company was the very first airport restaurant that I would call good or better. Thank you for opening my eyes. We will be back.

Stopped in because I heard my Priority Pass works here. It is true. If you have a pass, you get a $28 credit off your bill. If you have your priority pass through the Chase Sapphire reserve card, you and your guests all get $28 each worth of food and drink. I have been through here several times in the past few months and both the food and service have always been good. One time, I arrived at 4 am, so the bar was not open and they were serving breakfast. I'm not a breakfast fan, so the server offered to make me a sandwich to go. It was delicious. I also grabbed a hummus plate to go. The $28 covered both. The deli side had several types of salads that looked awesome and some we're packaged to go. I will return here again, even if I don't have a Priority Pass.

Fantastic restaurant within the Portland airport just after security. Great menu - something for all tastes and portions are huge - we shared an omelette and barely could finish it. Service was outstanding and quick. Even though it was busy we were quickly seated and our drinks brought immediately before we even had time to make our breakfast selection - but at the same time we were never rushed. Tables are also cleaned quickly and they are far enough apart that you can pass between them even when people are seated at adjoining tables. Big plus in the Portland airport is live entertainment nearby so even though it was just 8 am we were serenaded with live piano; a real treat. Beats the food fair in the airport where you serve yourself for similar prices and eat fast food off paper plates with plastic cutlery.

We had their New York style grilled pastrami sandwich and Chili Verde soup combo and it was pretty good as was the service. What we had was reasonably priced which is something that's hard to find inside an airport. We'd eat there again.

Yummy bagel egg and bacon sandwich! Plus excellent mimosa. Inside security on way to gate for Alaska Airlines flight to DCA.

Went here to order to go breakfast for our flight. Waited patiently....watched about 20 people get their food. Asked about our order and waitress said it would be ready in 3 minutes. About 5-8 minutes later, still no food. I went up and asked for our money back and days they could throw in some food if they wanted to do the honorable thing. Counter girl seemed to lack training on the register. Also, hey manager just ignored us even though I know she sensed my frustration. Finally, counter girl asked her manager to help. What a hot mess. I took an orange and a banana. Never will I hope back here for anything.

This is a good airport restaurant. Great cocktails. The cheese plate was substantial with quality cheeses. The salmon special was very tasty. And great people watching in the main terminal. Our waiter Al was very wine knowledgeable. Extra bonus, if you have a priority pass you can get a credit.

This was our first time eating at this restaurant. The food was great and the service was even better. If you have time to kill before your flight come here

We had an early morning flight and had to get breakfast at the airport. This place was the first we saw after security, and it looked OK. My omelette was so-so, not to my standards, but edible. Scrambled eggs were OK, but all in all, I would not return. There were other places we saw later that might have been better.

our family had just got off a 5 hour flight from Hawaii and we had 2 hours till our connection. As we walked be Capers a piano was playing in the background and the setting looked very comfortable to have dinner and wait till our flight. Not expecting much our family of 4 were all extremely surprised with our meals. Big sized portions, excellent taste, good service and most surprising of all, unbelievably reasonable pricing. Top it off with an excellent wine list, especially if you like Oregon pinot's, and all in all one of the nicer airport restaurants I have eaten at. Would definitely recommend Capers Cafe Le Bar to all.

Nice place to stop and wait for your plane. Very helpful staff. Tasty sandwiches. You can easily find place here for your luggage and by the window you can find outlets to recharge your phone.

We went here for breakfast before a flight. We asked for coffee and cream-- we got coffee and a small pitcher of skim milk... if there isn't cream then you need to be told they only have skim milk. There was no coffee refill and we saw people going to the coffee urns by the side of the restaurant which apparently how you get a warm up ? The food was so so--- I had French toast with "maple" syrup-- really of course maple flavored corn syrup which again needs to be advertised as such. Maybe picky but also for the price not so picky... It was fine -- edible and filling but not wonderful and this place certainly would not survive without the captive audience of the airport crowd..

Frequent flyer and all my meals at Capers Cafe have been excellent. Fresh grilled salmon on a salad was top notch, not typical airport food. The meat lovers omelette with fresh tomatoes set me for the whole trip from PDX to Atlanta. Capers Cafe is just inside the secure portion of the terminal so you'll have to be flying to eat here but it's definitely the best food in the airport.

This airport cafe should be more efficient. We ordered soup and a chef salad. We waited at least 20 minutes. The soup was lukewarm and the salad was very simple: bag lettuce, chopped deli meat, cheese chopped off a brick of cheese slices. It did have an 1/8 of avocado and 1-1/2 slices of tomato. Our original order of coffee was forgotten. Sadly they were not even busy. This restaurant has a prime location. They could be better.

I was not expecting the omelette to be very overcooked, and the potatoes were also extremely dry. The wait staff was hard to get to the table for refills or payment. Overall, a fairly disappointing experience.

In Portland? This is a great find in an amazing airport. When was the last time you met the owner working in an international airport at his restaurant. This is a must stop for food, wine, or now farm fresh local food. They also pack for the flight too. I loved sitting at the bar. Stop here at the portland airport. Maybe you will meet the owner like I did . Christian. Great guy and family.

We stopped at Capers because they accept our Priority Pass Club card. Turns out that it is a great restaurant! Service, food, menu choices and especially our server Martini were all exceptional.

We didn't find much to get excited about at this restaurant. There was nothing bad but nothing memorable. Service was a little on the slow side, prices were average and food was normal. You do get a decent credit towards a meal if you have a priority pass.

We stopped here for a decent sit-down breakfast before a morning flight. Service was pleasant and responsive. It was too early for us to contemplate wine, but fyi it's also a wine bar. The food was basic but good (omelet) - perfectly fine for a little moment to sit and relax before a flight.

1st time here and had the 3 Cheese Ravioli. I think this dish has great potential but it lacked freshness and flavor. I ordered it at 11am when it first became available on the menu. I would try it a second time if I'm ever back because I really do think this dish is normally fresher. The service from our waiter was spot on.

Order taker real nice. In the end the food was very good. The problem is that we ordered to take on the plane...my wife asked 3 times...where is the food? Very disorganized and very slow. Many other great options there...forget this place.

When I fly out of PDX in the morning, I like to have enough time to stop in to Capers and pick up a frittata, coffee and bottled water to go. This is the perfect bite to enjoy pre-flight or on-board. The staff here is friendly and they will heat up and package your breakfast selection to go.

Great spot to stop when inside security at PDX. Healthier options than fast food and they have both pre-packaged items and food made to order. Incredible wine list available by the glass and bottle with very reasonable prices. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I found this place because of the Priority Pass Select issued from my Chase Visa card. I was excited to try the new option instead of sitting in a lounge. We came off the Hawaiian Airlines flight which arrives at 20:30. Passing on the in-flight meal, we decided to have dinner upon arrival. The Chase card allows guesting privileges, so that meant instead of the $28 credit, we received $56. Bonus! Had a great salmon dish, salad, a few glasses of wine. Still had money left over, so we were able to take a bottle of wine with us to go. Returning for our departure a few days later, we decided to head back to this same location. Upon arrival, we inquired about taking some wine to go on the airplane since it is inside security. The policy about wine "to go" was changed the day prior and is no longer allowed. One staff member stated that it was Priority Pass who made the change, but speaking with another, it was them who asked for the change. Understandably so because if a server or bartender sells the wine, they have to tip out on those sales. Plus, people don't tend to tip on a bottle of wine that is purchased for takeaway...ultimately, the staff was losing out. It's too bad the establishment doesn't figure a way to sell them through the other cashier (food area) so that the bartenders don't have to tip out on the sales. It seams like it would be a money maker for the restaurant to get all those Priority Pass people in the door and spending money. Management should try a solution that works for them and the bartenders. I will return regardless when I am back in PDX...the salmon was worth it alone.

If you have any time between flights, Capers is worth a stop for the food, service and view of runway. I have eaten at Capers while transitioning between flights and find the food very tasty. My favorite is the lox and bagel but the soups, sandwiches and salads are all worth ordering. They have a nice wine bar if you wish to sip or sample or a full bar if you wish something stronger. They always offer to go as an option, If you want some healthy food while at airport this place has been reliable.

My wife and I ate at Capers Café Le Bar both when we recently arrived at and when we departed from the Portland Airport. The sandwiches are very good, and there is a wide variety of menu items. The service is friendly. The table seating is open and comfortable. The prices are very reasonable for an airport restaurant.

I am so happy I stumbled upon this cafe! The wine list is extensive, and menus are made with pairing suggestions. But this is not a stuffy place, it's just business as usual in Portland foodie heaven. I ordered the potato leek soup which came with truffle oil and it was silky and substantial. I also got the salad with mixed greens, pears, bleu cheese and hazelnuts...and savored every bit. The pears are lightly poached and spiced and the nuts add a great crunch. My server was wonderful, friendly and prompt. I'll definitely be back.

Lady at the counter ignored us until she finished her gripe session with a co-worker. The only table available needed busing. When we asked the waitress to clean our table she seemed confused. I counted 13 people working when 3 could have done the job. On the bright side, they did get my bagel and tea to me quickly.

Just wanted to give a shout-out to Capers Cafe, as we knew we would need nourishment and were really running late. They whipped up our sandwich and plopped three salads in a to-go box in short-order time and we were on our way, quickly! Truly good food for an airport cafe and we were so pleasantly pleased to sit down to a amazing meal on our flight! Keep up the good work!

I arrived and waited in line to place my order and pay for snouts 15 minutes. This wasn’t bad considering how busy they were. I ordered the half sandwich soup combo. After I paid within a couple of minutes a lady came out with a bag and said it was my order. I reiterated to her my order number and she said “yes” that was the order. I walked to my gate, quite a distance away, opened the box and it was a quiche and not my order. I walked all the way back to the cafe, waited by the check out, and explained the situation. They came back and handed me a bag with my order. I walked back to my gate and now found there was no spoon in the bag for the soup. Luckily I had the time to exchange my order but most people wouldn’t have the time. I had to find a spoon and now the soup was cold.

This is a really interesting place. You have the option of ordering at the deli case to take away or having table service and ordering from a menu that has the same items available. It's located just passed security in the corner on the left. It is also a wine bar. We arrived at the airport well in advance of our flight so we decided to sit at relax instead of grapping something and eating at our gate. My husband ordered the hearty beef stew which if I remember right came with a choice of a side. I ordered the hot pastrami on rye and a glass of delicious pinot noir. The bartender was also our server. He was really nice and was moderately busy with two or three people at the bar and two or three tables. As I recall, there was a problem with the bill that we caught but it was rectified. I would recommend Capers and definitely return if time permits in the future.

No one gets excited about eating at the airport; It's overpriced and blah. But this restaurant was very good with fresh looking and tasting options. Very impressive. If you're fortunate to travel through the very cool and very pleasant airport, plan enough time to eat here.

Great place to grab one of several beers on tap or a glass of wine. Great menu featuring a wide variety of options!

Changing planes in PDX and found this cafe early morning. Breakfast menu had local chanterelle mushrooms scrambled eggs with seasoned potatoes- delicious! Service was spot on, friendly and efficient. Prices are reasonable. And they have $6 mimosas all day! :) Would recommend!

Lovely cafe, no one sitting at it but lovely, my wife and my self sat with our items , we were waiting for a flight out. A young man , with a pony tail, his name began with a B, can't remember because his name badge we partially hidden . He came up threw 2 menus on the table and ask us if we intended to eat, if not This was not for bar customers ,We dont drink , but for eating customers. I looked at my wife in horror and shock, we had never been greeted in this manner. He said if we were from the bar , there to watch the game, that we needed to displace ourselves from the area , which was empty. We got up and moved in horror not knowing what else might befall us , we are seniors and he seemed to need to hurry to get back to his conversation with the other servers which at his time seemed like a big play house. Well the young lady at the bar area came over and stated she was sorry for his actions and Amanda a very fine young lady, came to try to make this better. I explained that the world we live in to day and with all the threats that are posed to people on a dailey bases this was totally wrong the 2 young lading took a terrible situation and make it better by just showing they cared. I would strongly advise , closing for a day for retraining the staff, When staff is not busy send them home, this is a job not a play house. i explained the staff is not their friends . And train them that customers pay the salaries. What a revelation. I am so glad i waited a month to write this.Again thanks to Amanda and the bar staff for making this better.Do we really need hostile male servers. Thanks and now what is your take .

I typically stop here when I have time before a morning flight out of PDX. They serve good standard breakfast fare, and most importantly get it out to you quickly.

We had a 4 hr lay over between flights from Newark NJ to Bellingham and wanted a nice meal to kill the time. Capers Cafe was a great find. I enjoy a great glass of wine with my meal. They have a good wine list, of course, featuring Oregon wines. I was surprised when they had Copper River Coho on a bed or Risotto for $17 It was well prepaid an very hot at serving. I ordered a Shea PN which paired great. My wife had a pasta dish with Yearling Sauvignon Blanc that was equally good. Although the wine by the glass was on the pricey side ($14-$20 for PN’s) the wines were good and there we selections less expensive.

For an airport eatery this was nice, I had the beef stew for lunch and it was homemade and delicious, would eat here again!

Overall ok. Forgot lettuce on sandwich, bread very dry. Soup good. Took long time to receive food. Turkey good.

My wife and always get to the airport early and have breakfast at Caper's. Love this place. Great food, great service and very timely. Try them...you will like them. They are located near the Alaska terminal.

I was through security 90 minutes before flight time and had plenty of time for a sit down breakfast. Capers has the best breakfast of any airport I've been in. For me, the service was fast, the omelet and home fries were excellent and filling. My wife, on another flight got much slower service and ended up taking her food "to go" as she had to board her plane.

Brightly lit adjacent to the atrium like opening that joins the exit from TSA with concourse C/D/E and concourse A/B, this seat yourself sit down restaurant allows for table side or counter service with locally sourced food that is served in a timely manner. Local wines are a nice touch. Food is above average for airport options.

The menu is limited but the service is fast and good. The wine is great and they help you find a good one for you.

We had a nice lunch here with my wife enjoying her beef stew and I enjoyed my chicken pasta dish. We had nice wines from a huge selection from the by-the-glass wine list. This place helps affirm PDX as the best domestic US airport.

The wine selection is really great. The food is really great. If you talk to Al, your sure to get the straight spiel. I've been kinda a wine snob coming from SoCal, but Oregon has some really good wine now. Give it a try. So much better than your usual airport eatery.

I wanted something different than the usual airport fare, so I went walking until I found Capers Cafe. I had a breakfast scone/muffin with bacon, onions and cheese. It was only $3.50, and very good. They also had pastries, and a breakfast menu to choose from. There are lots of table, and I think you can have wait service if you want. There is a bar, and lots of wine to take home which flies free on Alaska airlines. Across the room, there was a man playing the piano. Nice place to wait for a layover.

I had a really good asiago bagel with cheese and bacon before before my morning flight. They also had a wine tasting. Great place to pick up Oregon wines and food before flying out.

The service was awful and so was the food. The cheese wasn't melted on my omelet and the veggies were refrigerator cold. Coffee was lukewarm. I hope I don't get sick

pretty good deal, 1/2 doz. oysters on 1/2 shell & glass of chard for $15. very good bar service, on top of our needs, would recommend. wife had very good 1/2 turkey sand & soup, said was good.

While waiting for our connecting flight, we scouted out the various dining options in this fine airport and selected this one for its variety, showcased deli like presentation and its designated seating area. If one has time to relax and self serve or be served, this is a good one. They have a wine bar as well so you can take advantage of that as well is inclined. It`s just a little pricy, but worth it IMHO. Nearby, live music was provided by a classical guitarist who played perfect music to dine to.

Perhaps we should not have ordered burgers, but we did, and they were bad. Thin over cooked and with a soggy bun. The “iced”tea was warm. Yuck. Kenny and Zooks is next door and you can get a great corned beef sandwich. We would have gone there except that we were at their downtown location on this trip. Oh well.

After perusing menus from other restaurants in the terminal, I stopped by the counter of capers cafe and was greeted by the nicest lady at the counter who took my food order. She quickly realized I was in a rush and that I was vegetarian. Mentioned there were other vegetarian eateries in the terminal which was appreciated. I decided on a healthy light meal - I got the half sandwich and salad combo. The sandwich was a vegetable one filled with lettuce, cucumber, cream cheese and avocado on rye. Really good! Wish I had gone with a whole sandwich and a classic Greek Salad with olives and feta. Pretty nice to go option for my flight

Our server, Brenda, made Mother’s Day lunch at the airport a special occasion. Outstanding service, a broad variety of menu items, and very fresh, good food

We like to stop at the Capers Cafe et Le Bar when utilizing Portland's airport. We have a Priority Pass card, so we can eat for free. While this fact is enticing, the food is normally reliably good. We had breakfast two weeks ago on our way to Paris and started the meal off with mimosas. Our eggs and potatoes were tasty, although there was too much of them! Very big servings. our waitress stopped by several times to check on us and didn't seem to mind having to bring me more milk for my tea. Overall, a nice place for an early breakfast prior to flying out.

This restaurant is not fast food or inexpensive, but features well made cuisine with an exceptional wine bar. Wanted to spoil myself after spending a few days with wonderful but health nut friends, I grabbed the salmon, served with a risotto, and an excellent glass of Oregon Pinot Noir (from a long list of wines by the glass). The salmon was fresh and excellent, the risotto decent (undoubtedly pre-made, but for an airport restaurant necessary), and the Shea pinot paired well with both. Service was fast and friendly. Good choice if you want to indulge yourself on your way out of PDX.

Caper's Wine Bar is attached to Caper's Restaurant in one of the main Atriums in Portland's well laid out and spacious airport. We approached the bar and asked if they served flights of Oregon Pinot, only to be rebuffed firmly and rudely by the barman who clearly had had enough of people. He told us that there wasn't room for flights, that he had to wash glasses and that if flights were ever introduced he would quit. We decided to leave, and as we did so he remarked to the sole customer, "You can't please everyone". A shame since Caper's seemed to have a good selection of Oregon Pinot Noirs and other wines.

We all know how difficult it is to find a good place to dine in an airport . . . . limited selections, crazy busy, very expensive, etc. However, our experience at Capers Café Le Bar at the Portland International Airport was the exception. Great food, great service and reasonable prices. Thank you to our server, Thomas W. who took very good care of us!

Eggs over medium with sourdough toast and potatoes - and coffee. Sounds easy right? Got coffee - had to get up and ask for a stir for my coffee. 20 minutes later and thank god we had time before our flight - eggs (runny - ugh!), potatoes (inconsistently cooked), toast (white toast). It took a very long time to get our food and it was a bummer! There are many options for breakfast / this is one to avoid!

20 empty tables, we were told to sit anywhere and sat down, asked the waitress if she could clean our table, she looked around and said that there weren't any rags for cleaning, she switched with a different waitress who was a bit more pleasant but this place sucks - especially the staff.

Perfect. I ordered coffee and a bagel with lox. (There were four varieties of bagels to choose from-I got plain.) Hot coffee came immediately and a perfectly toasted bagel ate was not far behind. Server Amber noticed right away that the cream cheese was a bit lacking and quickly brought me some more. I would most definitely stop in again.

Great service from barman that doubles with serving drinks and food. Adjacent customer enjoyed his oysters on the half shell platter. For economy class fliers the store attached sells food and drink for taking aboard. Bar seating very busy in the morning.

A long way from our gate, but we were glad we found it. Excellent pasta dish. Noisy and tight due to location, but a solid food choice in PDX. Don't pass this up.

Have eaten there between flights a few times highly reccomend the pasta and the gyros... have also gotten carry out quality is variable sandwiches sometimes come with chip sometimes not, sometimes salad sometimes not, sometimes packaged for flight sometimes thrown in a bag. Staff is either greaty or hideous depends who you get.

Breakfast for four. Great eggs and bacon. I had oatmeal with raisins and brown sugar. Only thing better would have been some nuts for crunch. Alas I was denied. Coffee was good and strong. I would eat here again. Our waitress could have smiled and been nicer but perhaps someone in her life had just died so we will give her the benefit of the doubt. :)

We had extra time and decided to grab a bite at Capers at the PDX Airport. What a disappointment. Worse food either of us have ever tasted. Staff was very nice. Sad the food is so bad, but a captive audience. I expected better, good would have been nice.

PDX airport has always impressed me with their food choices, especially considering what is offered in most other airports. That is why I was so disappointed in our breakfast last week. I ordered the breakfast bagel sandwich, seeded bagel, no sausage or bacon, egg medium. Silly me, I forgot to tell the waiter to ask the cook to hold the mayo. When I received the bagel sandwich, there was a layer of about 1/2 inch mayo on the sandwich. The egg was over easy and the bagel was so hard I couldn't cut it. I was really surprised to find out mayo was a food group rather than a condiment. There was no indication on the menu that mayo included on the sandwich. I tried scraping the mayo off (see picture) but could not get it all. Picture shows how much of the meal I left. My husband had the Mediterranean scramble and said it was quite good. Server did offer to go cups for our second cup of coffee.

Grabbed a quick bite while waiting for my plane. They have an excellent selection of food items. Friendly efficient staff. The location patio feel seeking that makes for excellent people watching. There is a nice wine bar to enjoy a glass of wine while killing time before your flight. You can order at the b Counter or be seated and be waited on. Your choice,

Best salmon ever!!! I love salmon and order it frequently. The salmon was the best that I have ever had. Absolutely fresh, gently prepared, still moist. Salad was fresh and excellent. Service was good. Who knew that such a wonderful meal exists in an airport!

We ate lunch at Capers as we were leaving Portland and enjoyed our meal very much. We shared a shrimp cocktail and then shared a sandwich special, both of which were very tasty. There was a nice draft beer/ale selection and a nice selection of wine. All in all it was a very good meal (surprisingly good for airport fare).

I got Priority Pass membership and thus visited this cafe to order $28 f&b per person for free. Free seating but no one gave us manual so we went to the food counter to check the big manual on board, some of the packed food w/o price tag. We ordered 2 today specials (with known price) and 2 beer (w/o price). Have to ask the waiter the price for almost all food and drinks, surprisingly the beer is cheap only $5.25. The meal is delicious even I was already full, I could keep eating the tasty rice. After the meal before boarding, want to get some fruit/dessert/drink to go. The waiter told us to take by ourselves with strange gesture that next table laughed at us. It didnt sound good gesture and I had to tip to the waiter for my self services?! Dine in a restaurant inside airport, this one is good food with reasonable prize but poor service, I did feel race discrimination or the waiter look us down because we are using Priority Pass. Actually with Priority Pass, we ordered more than we need for 1 dinner, in other words, we spend more than normal even though it is paid by Priority Pass, they should treasure our patronage.

My favorite server, Slyvia, was working today... turns a long layover into a pleasant, relaxing visit with good wine. This is an excellent place to "people watch". Wine plus a floor show sometimes. Excellent wine list, good food & excellent service.

Had cup of French Onion soup and half dozen oysters ordered. Although place was half full, it was some time once food emerged - dont know why they decided to serve everything together, it resulted in soup being lukewarm. Soup was very average and oysters were tiny, but tasty. In the retrospect I should have chosen some other place for lunch - there is a lot of options.

If you have Chase Sapphire reserve they give you priority pass. It gives you $28 food and drink beverage credit per person. The food was actually decent.

There are 2 Caper’s in Oregon airport, one is in Concorde C, the other one is in Concord D where there is a small market with it. We have tried both, because we have 2 airliner lounge members, so have visited both. The one in concord C is more like a regular restaurant with some to-go orders if you want. Both are very nice, but we prefer the one in the D area, because the seafood samplers are the one to dive for, if you love seafood. Besides the seafood bar, beer, you can also buy some grocery food and quick deli pre-made foods ( I am talking about gourmet and healthy choices)to go, gifts, etc..We enjoyed spending the airliner’s benefits there. That was a great found!

One of the worst experiences that we’ve had in a very long time, very disappointing. I would recommend NOT to eat at this place. My husband got seated, ordered, took forever for my food to come out. When the food came out they told us that was what we ordered and we said no that’s not what we ordered at all, and I said you have this order messed up because we ordered bacon, they gave a sausage I ordered a burrito with green chili and cheese none of that was on there. I literally picked the Barito gave it a squeeze, it totally look premade and just heated up it was disgusting looking. I put it back on the plate argued some more that that was not our breakfast that we had ordered. They finally picked up the plates from our table turned around and put it on the table behind us and said wrong table and was theirs. I can’t believe they watched me pick it up squeeze it, put it back on the plate and then they still served it to someone else. We finally have to leave after waiting another 20 minutes and our food still did not come. People there I guess you really don’t know what they’re doing. I would NOT ever go back to that place! Run!

My fresh seared coho Salomon with mushroom asparagus risotto was yummy. Paired with my Occam’s Razor red blend wine (I know supposed to have white with fish, right, but why bother then?) made my airport stay delicious.

I ate here twice. The food is fine- nothing great but better than most airports. It’s nice to sit for a minute & get waited on. My quiche was meh but the grilled pastrami on rye was delicious. The wine list is crazy long & they have something for all budgets. Their warm choc chip cookies are huge.

Stopped by Capers before our flight (Used Priority pass). It was a nice place, food and service was good. Our waiter was Gavin, very helpful and made sure we used all of our benefits under the priority pass program.

SThere is so much to choose from and very fast service. They have reasonable prices. Friendly staff and centrally located. Wraps, salads, sandwiches and sides with a full deli feel.

If you are looking for a quick bite between flights, then this is your place. The menu options are really good and \the price cannot be beat anywhere else in PDX. I would recommend the soup and half sandwich for anyone on the go. Table service is available but we chose to order at the counter. Sandwiches were fresh and well made. Soup (Tomato bisque) was excellent. Price for the soup, half sandwich and chips was less than price for a pre-made sandwich at the market for a higher price.

Just beyond security concourse D is Capers Market. The shelves are stocked with lots of local products, fresh salads, and pastries. A bonus is you can use your $28 Priority Pass allocation!

Wanted a sit down type of breakfast before traveling to the east coast and capers fit the bill nicely....was seated very quickly and the waitress was very fast to take my drink order....I think they get the concept of people not wanting or needing to wait before getting on a plane and I appreciated that....I ordered French toast with bacon that was very good...I liked the bacon wasn't flimsy...perfect way to begin a travel day!

Great place to grab breakfast before your flight. Sits just beyond security. Plenty of options for breakfast from full on to lite bites.

We've stopped in here a couple of times before heading back out east. The Farmer's Breakfast is my favorite. The potatoes can be very salty though. All in all, it fills you up for the rest of the day.

After getting through airport security faster than usual, our family ate an early lunch at Capers before flying out. It is convenient to many gates, being very centrally located. Loved sitting at our table away from the main dining area, and at a window to watch the planes take off and land. Our waiter, "Tommy", was very helpful with the menu for us three. Loved having the menu on display while we waited to be seated. Must admit, I had my heart set on a particular salad. Was disappointed to learn that it was not available that day. So, I shared a lunch with my husband. Tommy brought extra bread and kept our glasses filled telling us many times he was "sorry." I hope the next time we fly and have time to eat before leaving, the "broccoli salad" will be available. We had great service, and know we will return. Many thanks~

The food was fine as was the service just do not understand why 3 people making sandwiches are not wearing gloves. The food they were making was cold sandwiches while the cook at the grill making hot food was wearing gloves. Wonder what the rules from the health department are??

Normally, I'm a Starbucks person. The plane ride made me hungry and their $20 panini wouldn't cut it. Luckily the heavenly smells of Capers cafe le bar wafted down the airports cracks and crevices and I found myself standing awkwardly outside the sitting area, strongly desiring something to fill my bellie and my time with. One of the bus boys saw me checking out the menu from afar and welcomed me to come have seat. I was instantly taken care of with water and coffee, shortly after making my order my food arrived and was delicious. House coffee was perfect, sandwich was Turkey cranberry cream cheese (mmm) and better than expected. They respected my desire to read articles and not be social so they checked on me but kept it short and not distracting. Brilliant wait job staff! My layover was a couple hours but not once did I feel pressured to leave. They even convinced me to have their carrot cake, which was outstanding. All of that, in an airport, for about $14....I'm surprised and highly recommend.

We had breakfast here on the day of our return flight, primarily because it was included in our Priority Pass, which allows my wife and I a $56 credit. I had a huge meat lovers omelet and my wife had a full breakfast. We both had coffee and took along bottles of orange juice and water for the flight. All it cost us was $10 for the tip. The food was certainly adequate and the service was friendly. When she seated us, she told us that the Priority Pass system was down, but she could do it manually. I noticed when a scruffy-looking couple came in later, she told them the system was down and she couldn't honor the Priority Pass.

This restaurant is just on the inside of TSA checkpoint. Great service, superb breakfast and cappuccini. The breakfast selection is great. Highly recommend before you head to your gate!

Sign said to seat yourself, and as we headed to a table, the waiter headed our way. Service was quick, first finding a nice wine by the glass, then ordering lunch. Our waiter suggested a salmon special which my hubby had, and I got a pasta. Both entrees were above expectations. The pricing on the entrees was less than $20 each. We had a Priority Pass card which gave us enough credit for lunch and wine, so the whole thing only cost us a decent tip. Having PP was really nice, however even if we didn’t have it, I would return to this restaurant as the food was on par with a nice city restaurant, and prices were great for an airport. Our server did forget to bring water, but another server got it for us (and after seeing this, our waiter apologized for forgetting it) - good service, good prices, good food

Regularly stop here on our way out of PDX. Used to always get PokPok wings and then stop here for a bottle of Riesling. Very nice Service staff. Great beer and wine selection. Bummer that the last time there they had 8 different champagnes/ sparkling wines listed and were out of all of them! Just had the unlisted Cupcake that was used for mimosas. Yeccch! Story was that the boss/ owner was away for 3 weeks and no one could reorder. Weird!

Good food watching the F-14s take off in front of us and listening to the man play piano man by billy Joel on the piano bar wonderful morning great food bloody Mary's waiting to head out to our favorite destination get away our favorite place in the world Casa Corona Mexico. www.casa-corona.com

When traveling through Portland Oregon airport I try to stop here. Great wine selection, especially local and good food. The prices are not bad either!

A nice break from the usual airport fare. Caper's has a big menu, lots of wine & beer and a great central location. Food and service are fantastic. Service is quick (as it needs to be at an airport), but there is plenty fo good lingering to be had if your itinerary allows it. We always try to make our stop overs at PDX instead of the overcrowded SEA, and Caper's is icing on the cake.

Priority Club member alert! Your card is good here for $28... the champagne bar is a perfect way to wait for a flight and to people watch and listen to live music. As much as I enjoy the Board Room, this is a most pleasant alternative... a full cafe to eat in or take away.

Had an early morning breakfast here prior to our flight. This was our first time at this establishment and we were looking for an eatery with table service. (They do a robust carry-out as well).Menu has many good selections and variety. I enjoyed the East Bank Breakfast and my wife had the Two Egg Breakfast and they actually scrambled the eggs properly instead of the fold-over style. Toast was very well executed as opposed to warmed bread as some others call toasting. Service and coffee were very good as well and prices are reasonable, especially for an airport. Will definitely return.

They use so much oil!! The cooks cross contaminate everything. They use their hands without gloves and don't wash their hands in between items. I would stay away if I were you.

As was noted by others, you are captive in an airport with few good eateries behind security. The prices here are reasonable and the food is decent. We shared a hot pastrami sandwich and a bowl of lemon chicken soup. The meat in the sandwich was very good, the dark rye bread too soft (Portland has a lot of bakeries that make a real dark rye with some body), but overall satisfying. The soup was very good, with interesting herbs and a good lemon flavor. It satisfied us before our flight and we did get to listen to a classical guitarist right outside the cafe. That was the main reason we ate ate capers rather than walking on. I have eaten here before, both breakfast and lunch. Never great, always decent.

I travel quite a bit throughout the US, and I have to note, PDX is my favorite airport to fly in to, and the Capers Cafe, time after time, not only offers wonderful food, but shares this wonderful happy vibe, consistently making it one of the happiest restaurant I've had the pleasure to experience in any airport, anywhere. Whether I am coming or going, or even have time to stop, you always put a smile on my face. Thank you for being such a welcoming host to your city. I'm already looking forward to returning.

If you haven't stuffed enough beers in your checked baggage and want to grab a few more for home, this is one of three places in D gates area where you can find beer to go. The selection is decent, but the pricing seems incredibly random. I found beers here for slightly cheaper than I payed at stores or breweries in Portland, and then found other beers that were incredibly higher priced than in stores. There were even a few beers I can get locally in Utah that were higher priced than Utah bar prices, which seemed odd. Utah must have a good line on distribution. Anyway, this is a good option to add to your beer collection, or bring beer home without checking a bag.

Perfectly seared local salm with a lovely creamy risotto. Totally surprised at the cost 17.95 and the quality. I visit Capers often whilst at Portland Airport. It's on the west side terminal CDE gates. Super friendly wait staff.

Located in PDX airside just past security adjacent to other eateries. Fresh salmon, breakfast a d dinner. I had the pastrami sandwich along with sides. Fantastic and then come to find out they take Priority Pass up to $28!!!!! Outstanding! Busy at supper time even though many tables as well as a bar. Good friendly host and server.

Stopped at Capers today for food and wine before boarding a cross country flight. The food was very good and out server, Amanda, was excellent. She was helpful with recommendations, efficient and friendly. We will visit there again on our next PDX stop.
Depends on What you Order
I'm wary of airport eateries; in all likelihood anyone would be. However, Capers is good if you order the right thing -- something fresh from the chilled seafood bar and a cold vino or brew. I choose the shrimp cocktail and a suggested white (Joe Pinot Blanc) as a wine match. The shrimp were plump, the cocktail sauce horseradish-ly punchy and my vino washed it all down perfectly. My 20 minutes @ PDX were well spent for $15 including 5 minutes on PDX's free wifi. Thanks to server Scott K. for his friendly bartend manner and stellar recommendation.
