Very nice Italian restaurant. Morgan was a good, polite server. Atmosphere is very good, although restaurant is a little noisy. Eggplant Parmigiana was good but not overly flavorful as was the Linguini Shrimp Prima.

The food is actually pretty good. But, even at lunchtime prices, this restaurant is quite expensive. The service is excellent, the orders are correct, food is delivered in a timely fashion, they have a good wine selection and the atmosphere is cozy. But when you weigh all that against a hefty amount of money for a plate of pasta, it all averages out.

Hi, I grew up on the east coast and developed my love for just good Italian food. Gay and her restaurant have kept me happy since the mid 80's when I first walked through the door of Capparelli's. My go-to meal is simple, Rigatoni and Meatballs. My friends who I have taken there have tried a variety of her dishes and all left satisfied and happy. This is just a great Italian restaurant in San Antonio run by a gal who really wants to serve you great food.

I know - there are very good and well regarded pizza places all over San Antonio. This one is just so good that you have to give it a try before dismissing it as "one of those lower ranked places" by some pizza lists. This restaurant makes some of the best pizza that you will find anywhere. The crust is just the right thickness and the cheese is mouth watering. I am simple in my choice of toppings, but if you want to "go there", the choices are fresh and varied. Don't miss out on this well priced gem.

Wow, was I unexpected with the food, the service, and atmosphere. The first time I went into the restaurant it was after long hot day of fun. So, I ordered the tea that never stopped flowing. The food was ordered the meat ball sandwich was huge and taste. The service was great and knowledgeable. I have since gone back several times and order the chef salad and the pizza, both are fantastic. The dressing is so good I wanted to drink it, but found out they sale it by the bottle so I now have some at home. The pizza was so good, it was like a party in your mouth.

Grrreat Italian restaurant. We happened on this place quite by accident, but a lucky find it was. Nice ambience to the place, it was quite busy, but the food and service was excellent. We split a large combo plate of 3 of their signature pasta dishes. It was a large enough portion for two hungry guys. The star was the eggplant parmigiana and of course the delicious marinara sauce. The pastas and cheeses were - prefecto. Served with lightly seasoned garlic bread! Wonderful meal in great surroundings. Server was attentive, but not too much. Great meal in a great location

The matriarch of our family passed away at the age of 96. All of her children and many of her nieces and nephews and spouses came to San Antonio for the funeral. We had a lovely dinner the night before in the upstairs Loft at Capparelli's on Main. The service was great, the food and drinks were great, and we all had a very good time. It couldn't have gone more perfectly. This is a wonderful place with reasonable prices and a great atmosphere. My husband and I have been there several times and will continue to go back for special occasions, sometimes just a dinner out.

We go here often. Love the food and the staff. Great wine selection and great atmosphere. Oh, the Garlic bread is awesome.

Nice atmosphere, but pretty standard uninspired Italian fare. Also waiting for take out they don't care if you stand there 30 minutes waiting for a pizza!

Nothing fancy but consistently good local Italian food. Very popular in the neighborhood so you may need a reservation. Nice ambiance and decent wine list.

Lovely furnished and decorated restaurant. Outstanding service! Our waitress was very attentive and quick. We didn't need to say a word as she seemed able to read our minds. The food was not 100% what you expect if you've been to Italy or Europe before. But that doesn't matter, it is delicious anyway!

Great atmosphere as well as the Italian food. Sat upstairs overlooking the two piece combo(piano & sax), Naomi was an excellent waitstaff. The "shrimp primavera" and "chicken Alfredo lasagna" were both some of the better in San Antonio.

My boyfriend and I went to Capparelli's one Saturday evening just to try something new--to see if there was better Italian food to be had in San Antonio than our favorite Neighborhood haunt. The restaurant is in a cute area and the ambiance inside is great. There were SEVERAL very large parties so it was a loud night. We had to wait only about 10 minutes or so (no reservation) at about 8pm so I thought that was reasonable. The waitress was young and apathetic. Far from attentive but she managed to get the order right and in a reasonably fast manner. Our ICEBERG salads were DROWNED in italian dressing, it was difficult to even it it the vinegar taste was so strong. We also had n order of cheese bread which was avergage--I think you can buy better frozen in the grocery store. My mushroom pasta was supposed to be in a white wine sauce but it really ended up like a cream-sauce with too much thickener and the pasta was rubbery. My boyfriend had lasagna that was overloaded with more vegetables than meat (he was disappointed because it was layered throuhgout with mushrooms and he doesnt like them.) All in all, I would pass on Capparelli's.

Very delicious Italian menu. Eggplant parmigiana was wonderful. A delightful eatery for lunch or dinner. A perfect after church Sunday treat.

Had lunch with a friend and we ordered pizza and pasta, the salad with the house dressing is great. The waitress was so pleasant and very quick. I really like the location and is a lovely restaurant.

One of my work friends LOVES this place. I think it is pretty ordinary. It is OK, but not really anything special. They do have a nice outdoor patio.

This is a hole in the wall Italian place that has the best Italian food around! The staff is great, and the atmosphere is family and friends. I try to go here every time I come to San Antonio.

Aug 11 retuning from Houston to San Antonio. Bas expierence with rude Airie stewardess, worst flight in my life.

We got to the restaurant around 8 PM. We were promptly seated and our orders taken. I had chicken primavera, which was great after 4 days of mexican food and barbeque because I was served vegatables. The vegatables were nicley done and the chicken was perfect flavorful and juicy. The alfredo sauce was great too. It was a nice quiet meal after a long hot day.

Out of town had 6 people in party. Very rude hostess told us no tables for 2.5 hrs...10 tables vacant...oh well $150 -$200 lost income. Went to Melonis instead

We ordered chicken alfredo lasagna - it was just ok. Salad was good; bread not so much.

Great little hideaway restaurant. Had supreme pizza and was very good. Service was solid and not too crowded on a Saturday night. Family had chicken Marsala and no complaints. Moderate price.

Fresh calamari, salad was a bit too drenched in dressing but i am picky so i can look past, the chicken piccata was quite flavorful!

We walked here from our B&B and found this delightful family operated restaurant. There is a great selection, the portions are huge, the food is excellent and the cost is reasonable. Service is quick and friendly. The atmosphere is quiet, business casual or casual evening. Highly recommend for a nice dinner meal.

Best store in this local chain. More upscale and priced accordingly, but one of the few worth it in the area. Still reasonable price wise.

Capparelli's on Main has a neighborhood ambiance, and pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately the food has not been so good on recent visits. It is as though the salad dressing recipe has changed, and there was only one slim piece of red onion to spice up the salad. The garlic bread was not hot, and had no garlic on it. It also was too dry. The Manicotti was not hot. Still, it was fairly good. The service was fine. I hope that they will up the quality of the food and make it delicious, as it used to be, not just so-so.

Love to come here for the atmosphere (but not upstairs). The food is good, but not exceptional. The house salad that comes with most meals is a favorite (without the onions) with house dressing. Their pizzas are good and so is the garlic bread served with most meals. Pasta dishes are okay - meatballs are good.

I went there and had some great ravioli with marinara. Very good just enough spice to give it some flavor and not overpowering. The wine list was large enough to give a good selection

This is one of my college daughter's fave places and loved our experience here for my birthday dinner. Fab food, terrific service in a festive atmosphere. The holiday decor, at the time, was charming and subdued. Loved this restaurant and understand why it is a favorite with my daughter and her college friends, who attend nearby Trinity University. Looking forward to our next visit to San Antonio and a return trip to this charming, neighborhood eatery.

Excellent food and resonable prices. Only 2 blocks from the 1908 Ayres Inn Bed & Breakfast.Well done in both service and quality!

We went in on New Years Eve and they graciously found us a table. Service friendly and outstanding. Food was great. Relaxing and festive atmosphere. Went back after the Alamo Bowl and tried the pizza. Excellent! Live music perfect for a romantic evening.

Went with wife on way to Symphony and needed quick supper between events. Our waiter was Joazine (waa zeen.. my name spelling is assumed, but pronunciation is good). He very professionally got us in and out in short order in a calm fashion. Kept drinks filled and was not a nuisance. I had the Lasagna, which is pretty darn good. Not the most exotic thing on the menu, but it was ready. They cooked Red Snapper to my wife's personal order to perfection. Everything was good as usual. I have been eating at Caparelli's Restaurants for over 40 years, and they are dependable and good. As a kid, we used to get pizza's from them and they were excellent. Haven't had one in awhile, but need to revisit them.

I have eaten at Capparelli's On Main and the other Capparelli's since the early 80's. The food is always fresh and good. I love their red sauce and the meatballs. This is a very nice restaurant and a great place to go on a date. I highly recommend this restaurant for Italian dishes.

Grace is what's missing in most San Antonio dining experiences, but here they exude it in spades. The food is quality, but what makes this place stand out is its exceptional service and warm ambiance. The space is intimate yet not cramped, and the staff are clearly all on the same page, moving through the two-story setting like rehearsed actors in a play. Their level of polish is commendable, both for the staff themselves and the manager training them. Our waitress was Asia, and our group was seriously impressed by her understated grace, amiability, and attention to detail. Though this is a relatively small restaurant and that makes harmony more readily achievable, restaurant managers and servers alike could learn a lot by having a meal here on a busy Friday or Saturday evening. It's a great place for a group of adults, a family, or a date. Go early to avoid a wait, and don't be in a huge rush. They seem to take extra care in the preparation process, so if you are in a hurry, go somewhere plastic. If you want a more original ambiance and personalized aura, give Capparelli's On Main a try.

Beautiful atmosphere and attentive service. Food was generous and tasty. I especially like the Mediterranean salad. Eggplant parmesan is huge and delicious. We'll be back!

Had a nice dinner her on two occasions when visiting my brother an his family. Good tasting food and wine, excellent service on both occasions, neighborhood feel, and live music and half price wine by the bottle on Wednesday nights. What more could you ask for?

We ate at Capparelli's on Main with several friends. The service was excellent as was the food. The atmosphere was great as well. I would enjoy visiting this restaurant again, and would definitely recommend it to friends.

Oh my goodness- just delicious!!! My husband ordered the veal piccata and raved over it. Sliced thin and tender. I had the spicy bow tie pasta with chicken and a red cream sauce. So yummy. They have a nice wine selection too. We finished dinner with the tiramisu. Ellie, our server recommended it and we were thankful that she did. Lauren, the manager, did a splendid job decorating the plate. It was a work of art. Thank you for an enjoyable dinner!!!

First time at this establishment, which was recommended to us for quality food. Food was delivered as ordered which we experienced the quality above average. Dinner salad was included, but our server forgot and brought the main dish first. A minor oversight, but the server was very slow (maybe new) with little follow up. Next time in the area probably would not eat there again because of so many other choices in the immediate area.

The food here was pretty good. It was never overly busy so you could get a table without a reservation. The service was really good.

We started with the "Italian Wedding Soup". Wow! It was delicious! Chicken broth with spinach, escarole, carrots, mini shell pasta, and meatballs! Outstanding! Then we shared "The Super Sloppy Texan" an open-faced sandwich on an Italian roll. It had pepperoni, Canadian bacon, salami, mushrooms, black olives, and jalapenos smothered in red sauce, mozzarella and baked. It was excellent! We finished up with tiramisu. Wife said it was the best ever, I had no argument. They also have a full bar but we had tasty iced tea. We brought home most of the "Texan" and look forward to reheating! Great meal at a reasonable price and the service was good!

Stopped for lunch on a rainy Saturday and there were only two other diners but whilst we were there another table of 8 came in. Everyone received the same attentive and friendly service and the staff were so welcoming. The food was absolutely amazing - I had the cheese tortellini and the husband had spaghetti with meat sauce and we cleaned our plates and ate all the bread too as that was lovely and fresh. Price was not cheap but what you would expect for a decent dining experience in an upmarket area of San Antonio.

The Sloppy Texan is awesome.

I was introduced to this gem of an Italian restaurant while visiting friends who eat there regularly. The menu was filled with delicious sounding entrees and my selection might sound somewhat mundane, having selected lasagna. However, this lasagna contained a layer of sliced meatballs and sliced italian sausage which was a welcome taste treat. The service was prompt, polite and impeccable. The decor is subtle, but at some point you realize that the pictures on the walls are drawings of scenes from the movie The Godfather. On my next trip to San Antonio I intend to visit here again..... and again.

We have been to this restaurant many times, and it is always good, with great service. Very popular with the lunch crowd in Monte Vista. The food is maybe a little above average, but the ambiance is great, and everyone is happy and talking a lot. Overall, always a nice experience.

Whenever the itch for pasta calls we head here. Only 10 minutes from home convenience is a factor, but not the deciding factor. The menu is varied and preparation is always excellent. An accompanying salad is always crisp and I love their house dressing. We have tried many menu items but my favorite is the clams and linguini. It has plenty of garlic which I prefer. If a good Italian meal at a fair price meets your needs then head here.

We discovered this little gem while staying at a nearby b&b. Without the b&b owner's recommendation we would have missed out on a lovely experience. We enjoyed both the very good Italian food and the atmosphere. Can't wait to return someday.

The food is good, the atmosphere isn't. Its a huge barn of a place thats feels anything but intimate. when you think of italian place you usually also think of it being romantic. surprise. overpriced

This is better than good, but not great. My wife had the Chicken Picatta and enjoyed it, with its lemony, creamy sauce. I enjoyed the Lasagna, because it was made "the right way", with sliced meatballs, sliced Italian sausage and mozzarella cheese and ricotta cheese. It also had mushrooms. A lot of places nowadays use solely ricotta cheese and the meat is either ground meat within or even in the sauce; sorry but that's just not traditional. So the lasagna was excellent. Except that the sauce was very thin with no body, almost like tomato soup! The flavor was mild and OK, but tomato sauce should have more body. My wife had a side of rigatoni pasta with her chicken and the rigatoni had the same thin marinara sauce. The complimentary garlic bread was like soft hoagie rolls toasted; not a good hearty crusty french or italian bread as it should be. So, with that thin sauce, hence the deduction of a point (and another half if I could). Service was very good and the place was clean and inviting. We would go again but not before trying other choices.

Small, quaint and great food. A true neighborhood place, you feel like you just one of the regulars. Good selection of basic Italian fare, nice wine list (VERY reasonably priced), competent staff and great value.

I found Capparelli's in a Tripadvisor search. It was excellent. Tortellini shrimp primavera came with light, fluffy tortellini. Shrimp were tender cooked. The primavera sauce was perfect. Shrimp farfalle pesto was served with bow tie pasta which was cooked al dente, my preference. Again, shrimp were perfectly prepared and the sauce was delicious. Caesar salads were fresh, cold, served on chilled plates. The dressing was light and not over powering. The waiter paired perfect wines for us; his service was attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal which we decided was the best during our four days and hope to return on our next trip to San Antonio.

There was a bit of a wait on a Saturday night, but the staff was incredibly friendly and sweet, seated us outside to wait, served us drinks, and then were super wonderful once we were seated. Don’t miss anything piccata, the salad dressing is delish (and is heavily dressed, as other reviews said, but I was not mad about it). Kids portions are hearty, and two small kids could split one (they actually encouraged it!) especially after they eat the complimentary garlic bread. We were here visiting family nearby, and hope to come back. Our waitress, “V” was the best! Highly recommend.

My 23yr old son wanted to bounce some things off his mom so he suggested dinner and knows mom loves Italian food. We went on a Sunday at around 7pm and didn't have to wait to be seated. It's a small establishment in the middle of a nice neighborhood. I had the Chicken with linguine, sun-dried tomatoes and mushrooms in a butter garlic sauce. It was delicious. My son went with his fav...Chicken Parmigiana.

Capparelli web site says that their "overall mission is to provide an option for the community and its visitors to enjoy homemade Italian food while making patrons feel comfortable in our family environment." to that I say, Mission Accomplished. they have a decent menu. we were a family of seven. all servings were quite good, everything arrived at the table at the right time and serving size was perfect. the service is both efficient and professional. I would venture to say that this establish is one of those rock solid community venues that are worth returning to many times. the dining room is pleasant and inviting. there is outdoor seating. very easy access for the elderly. my only comment is that for an American-Italian restaurant, it is probably a bit too pricey by about 10-15%.

Honestly, I do not understand all the good reviews. Probably are they talking about the other location. We rented a vacation home nearby and went to this place to have a good time and good food. What a mistake! I ordered shrimp pizza. It was covered with store bought marinara sauce , cheese and a couple of shrimp. Nothing italian here. No italian herbs or spices, etc. My sitser had eggplant parmigiana. Well, she couldnt find any eggplant, but something mushy and breaded. The plate was drenched in the same marinara sauce as on my pizza. Accompanied by overcooked pasta. Yuck! Her partner had a pizza with 4 toppings, not better as from pizza hut. My nephew had red snapper in creamy lemon sauce. It was good, but the spaghetti with veggies on the side were overcooked and tasteless. The ambience is good at this place, nice tableclothes and cloth napkins, but the service was lame. The worst part of our fun dinner came at night. Me and my sister got very sick, were up all night, because of this great meal! Do not go there! Listen to the locals at e.g. [-], read their reviews first!

We've been on vacation for a week and this was the most delicious food at the cheapest price by far. We enjoyed fried ravioli, a small pizza, an pasta dish and a free kids meal (every Monday and Wednesday) all for $36. Winner for sure! The desert looked amazing, but we were to full.

A restaurant gets overall ratings for ambience, service and food. Of all these the quality of food is the most important for me. I had eggplant parmigiana sandwich and later that evening I had stomach flu. From the taste, I think the food is not made fresh here. It is stale food. The pasta sauce is not made fresh. The kids meal came with garlic bread which was burnt. Overall, it is not a worthy place to eat italian food. However, service is good and waitress are super friendly and do their best. Most of the good reviews are mainly of nice people are around. Food is hopeless and stale. Those who are sensitive to stale food will end up with stomach flu..

Great service and friendly. The waitress was very helpful in suggesting entree. I had the shrimp pesto ravioli excellent.

Had delicious pasta and salad in a long time at an Italian restaurant. Would recommend this place! Service was also very good and prompt.

Good Italian food at a decent price. The eggplant parmesean was delicious, but what really made an impression on me was the chocolate chip cannoli. My husband and I shared one, but I was left wishing that I had ordered my own.

Food and service has been outstanding in my three visits there. The shrimp in pesto is to die for. The portions are the ideal balance between flavorful and filling. You can't walk out of there full enough to pop off the hubcaps in your car, or not. The wine selections are really good, and pair well with the menu. Salads do way more than just feature lettuce, and the atmosphere is excellent. Entertainment on weekends is also fantastic (Two for the road - more you drink better we sound - hardly). And the service has been stellar every time. Food shows up quickly, is piping hot, and the place is kept tip top. While I am new to this town (less than a year), and still looking for all of SA's best, this place is high up on the list, and currently ranks as my #1 italian recommendation.

This place is a real staple of the Monte Vista neighborhood, so I doubt my review will affect anyone's decision to eat here. I was born in Brooklyn, NY and have traveled to Italy, so I know real Italian food. Capparelli's isn't it. The food is not terrible, but there are many dishes that are aggressively mediocre. For example, the Chicken Marsala is good, but the side order of spaghetti--well, the sauce on that is bitter and without dimension, as though taken directly from a can. The cannoli are another disappointment. You'd expect an Italian restaurant to know that cannoli are filled *all the way through* with cream. What I got at Capparelli's was a mostly empty pastry tube with cream only on the ends, disguising the empty insides. In Brooklyn, no self-respecting Italian restaurant would be caught dead doing something like that. Perhaps my standards are unrealistically high for San Antonio, which doesn't really know what true Italian food is. In summary, Capparelli's is nothing great, but probably will continue to thrive because it has a captive audience, as it is one of the few Monte Vista restaurants that doesn't make you feel like you're eating in the third world.

This is one of my favorite places. The pizza is the best in town. Affordable and good service, what more can you ask for?

Bowtie sundry basil pesto pasta fantastic! great service huge portions

I had dinner with friends at this charming Italian neighborhood restaurant this evening. I had the Italian wedding soup as my appetizer, flavorful and hearty; a perfect balance between vegetables and meatballs. For my entree I had the chicken piccata; a light lemony sauce. The service was tentative but never intrusive. The décor well done …worthy of a special occasion!

Went for lunch celebration with people in the office. Service was great, meals were brought to the table fast and atmosphere was nice.

Capparelli's is USUALLY very good. But you can sometimes catch them on off days. I've had some of the best Italian food in town, and have also waited an hour to get the wrong food. So role the dice and take your chances, I suppose!

Capparelli's is our favorite place to go to eat when we are in town. It is a true neighborhood, quaint restaurant with incredible food. We are so happy that we found this place several years ago.

An old brick chalet built by La Cosa Nostra is the vibe for Gay's (the owner) Italian retreat. This is a two story dining room with huge, ominous looking mafia family type pictures in sepia tones on the wall that give one the feeling that Big Brother is watching. It's a guardedly comfortable somewhat dark dining room with white table cloth seating upstairs and down with patio tables all in a row bistro style just outside the main door. There is even a secret garden with fountain in the back with just a few tables for a less watched feeling while you dine among the greenery and tinkling water sound. Yes. Pizzas are served here like the other Capparelli locations. However, the more upscale atmosphere makes you feel guilty unless your are ordering something a little more Italian sounding with lots of double consonants and maybe a little more expensive. That is not to say that they don't have the usual lasagna and spaghetti and meatballs, however. Actually, my wife ordered the chicken lasagna with alfredo sauce and I the veal piccata (see; look at those double Cs). Caesar and house salads were fresh and well dressed. Complimentary garlic bread was warm and pungent, but not so robust as to wake the dead and kill vampires. The lasagna was not your usual layered type. It was a couple of noodle sheets over-stuffed with chicken and artichoke pieces then smothered in alfredo. The chefs deviation from the traditional was not necessarily off-putting, but the not-so-tender chicken and overly salty alfredo were. Nicest of the nice, the waitress asking after our satisfaction would not be ignored once she learned of my wife's displeasure. Her insistence to replace the dish was an offer that could not be refused. So my wife chose cheese tortellini in a sugarosa (tomato and cream) sauce with side meatball in red sauce and was happy with the forthcoming replacement. The veal was a similar story and although the lemon-butter-caper sauce was good, the small solitary piece of veal must have been cooked just a little too long. I could barely cut it with a fork which is my usual tenderness measure for tender veal. I elected not to upset the godfather staring at us from the far wall and ate my veal and side of linguine with a proper slurp or two. It's not that they couldn't give me what I wanted. I just figured that I was not unsatisfied enough to have a horse lose his head over it. I am sure we will give this nicely appointed restaurant another try when we are in the mood for another go-round at double consonant loaded Italian named dishes and a ring kiss or two.

When my date and I arrived no one greeted us and we had to ask a server to be seated. There isn't really a hosting area. So I felt a little awkward standing and waiting for someone to seat us. Once we were seated we had good service although our server forgot to give us utensils even after we received our appetizer. Everything was delicious. Only thing I didn't like was too much dressing on the salad. I will be going back.

Since my last visit in June of last year...I can only say that the quality has taken a nose dive. The sauces were more water and lack lustre than one can imagine or describe... As of last year, I have lived overseas for 30 years and know all too well not to compare Italian-American to Italian cooking. Two different animals. But any American can prepare a basic tomato sauce much better than I was served. The single solitary meatball was tasteless and tough to cut thru. The garlic bread was a non-event. I do not like to complain too much or cast disparaging comments about. But the meal was disappointing. That said, the service is stellar. Miss Jayline and Tommy are at their best. Delightful as well as efficient. ***the TA questions below ask if the retaudrant serves Tuscan, Romana or Sicilian food. The answer is plainly and categorically - no. I don't know what its is....sorry.

My visit was at lunch time. Busy, but quiet enough for a civilized conversation. Service was welcoming and efficient. Lunch menu includes traditional Italian pasta dishes, a daily special, and luncheon combos consisting of a salad, iced tea, and a large, hot Parmigiana sandwich, either eggplant or chicken. Prices are about what you'd expect in San Antonio for a nice, but not extravagant, restaurant, Lunch menu prices run from about $9 for the combos to $12-$14 for pasta/meat dishes, all of which include a salad; a bit more for the daily specials. Salads are fresh, chilled, and attractively presented. The restaurant is in the Monte Vista neighborhood, a mile or so north of downtown. Popular place at lunch time, but street parking nearby is pretty readily available.

Amazing food and cleanliness. In these times that we are in, it was wonderful to see the staff go to such length to clean between customers to prevent the spread of disease. I watched the staff clean the check folders and the pens customers were using. If the are going to this length to clean then you know everything else is getting cleaned just as good. Add to the fact that the food was great only added to the enjoyment.

This restaurant is a staple in San Antonio and one of my absolute favorite dining locations. The food is amazing and has an array of classic Italian dishes; all of which are made fresh on a daily basis! You can't go wrong with the classic Lasagna, Eggplant, or Meatballs. The house made sauce is superb! The staff is courteous, professional, and knowledgable about the food as well as wine menu. The price is affordable and the portions are large; a huge bonus!

Went for a dinner. It was nice and very quiet. The menu had a great selection and the garlic bread was great. The staff was very attentive. The only downside was that it is a little pricey for what you get. Overall not bad, but I find it hard to condider going back with the current prices.

A great small business just north of downtown San Antonio. Gay Caparelli owns this location and her family has been in the restaurant business for three generations. This restaurant is more upscale and has a much wider variety on the menu than the other Caparelli restaurants in San Antonio. Lots of great seafood options here. The hardest part is choosing just one entree. Suggest reservations for busy nights like Friday and Saturday. With the wife and sister in law in tow we arrived and were promptly seated at a table marked reserved. Best seat in the house in the back corner with a view of entire restaurant. They have a very extensive wine list and tonight we enjoyed a Giesen Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand. Salad first. Both the house and Caesar salads are excellent. They also have excellent garlic bread they bring out. For my entree I chose the Chicken basil pesto cream sauce with farfalle pasta. The chicken was tender and moist and pasta perfectly cooked. The portions are very large and we took home a lot of leftovers. My wife enjoyed the veal picatta. Very tender. Unfortunately they will be taking it off the menu due to inflation soon. Look at those fabulous, fresh sauteed vegetables. enough for a meal by themselves. My sister in law had the chicken picatta and was impressed. Very tender and juicy. She commented so many other restaurants serve dry chicken. Much love to Gay and her team. Serving great food with great service.

Had a chance to bring 10 folks together. For lunch on Thursday this week and had an awesome meal. Everything from lasagna to Pizza to trout spaghetti and the best veal piccata I have ever had..... Do not miss going to this great place for family food, delicious recipes and great prices.

Wonderful atmosphere in a great location in a cute neighborhood. Large portions. Very good food! Super friendly staff.

We took an Uber here after finding all of downtown Italian restaurants were booked for dinner. Definitely worth the short drive. Great character, friendly service, and most importantly great food! So happy!!

For over forty years, Capparelli's has been serving some of the best pizza in town; Everything on the menu is old-school Italian food cooked to perfection! Don't get in a hurry... average wait time for a pizza is about 40 minutes; however, it is worth the wait. In a hurry? Call the chain pizza places.... want a perfect pizza?? Gotta go to Capparelli's. Excellent waitstaff, clean dining room; owners are hands-on to ensure that every customer leaves satisfied. Enjoy!

My wife and stopped into Capparelli's while visiting the area on a business trip. I had a meatball entrée and my wife had the Chicken Marsalis. The food was ok, if a bit bland. The service however was solid. The place has a nice atmosphere and is clean. Its entirely possible I had a menu item that maybe wasn't a house specialty.

Excellent, I have the veal parmesan. There were 6 of us and each of us finished their meal. If I have any criticism it would be the use of heresy chocolate syrup being used on a Great Cannoli.

This restaurant is a low-key, easy place to eat with friends. It is a bit noisy upstairs, but still, the excellent service, varied menu, fresh ingredients, and subtle flavors make Capparelli's on Main one of our favorites in San Antonio. We recommend for out-of-towners and locals.
Great Italian Food
I have so many favorites here, the Trout Almondine with lemon sauce, or the Chicken Alfredo Lasagna,or the Eggplant Parmesan, or the pizza with everything on it - delicious - but anything with their red sauce on it is a winner. They also make the best tiramisu in the city.
