It is amazing that I have never left a review for this place considering that I have been eating here ever since I was a toddler! Even when they sold several years ago, I got weary of the new management and interior updates, but luckily, the food remained good! (Worse grammatical sentence ever) This is a great place for authentic Cuban food in Miami. There maybe lots of Cuban restaurants here but few are actually good. The service is a bit wishy washy. I love coming here for breakfast. They serve very generous portions and will often get a huge plate of eggs when the order just says "2 eggs". For lunch and dinner, I love Rabo Encendido (Ox Tail) or one of their sandwiches like the Iberico...so good. Also one of they few places in town that serve a proper Lacon con papa y chorizo (Ham hock with potatoes and chorizo). Just all around a solid place to eat when I want to get my cuban food fix in a more casual ambiance that isn't so Hialeah-ish. Lol.

Good for the price

Good and fast service. Not a bad option for a fast delivery and well tasted latin food. Recommended. They also have several locations.

Excellent.

We went to that restaurant yesterday, after many hours of flight. The reception was perfect. We were offered water as soon as we sat down. What a blessed and welcome water at that hour. The price is fair. The food is full and the dish for 1 person practically serves 2. We were in 11 people and the care was patient (we delayed to understand some things because we spoke poorly English and Spanish), and the care was quick. The food arrived at the same time for everyone and was very good. The feijao is great, the same as Brazil. It was a good choice to have lunch here. Excellent food. Fair price. Cordial and quick attention. Highly recommended.

Caribe, a taste of Cuba

By TimCollier |

I only live about a mile away from Caribe, and they deliver. The food is always good. They have daily specials to die for. If you want a sandwich, they have several that are very good. I love Caribe.

Great Latin Cafe

By TrailTrekker15 |

My friend and I stopped into Caribe Restaurant for lunch shortly after arriving in Miami. Our waitress only spoke Spanish which was a bit of a challenge to order, but that was not unexpected being in the Miami area. In fact I enjoyed being able to use some of my college Spanish as I have had little opportunity to use it. She got our order spot on. The food was fantastic and in huge quantities for the price. The Cuban sandwich I ordered was delicious! I also ordered yucca fries and fried plantains both of which were excellent. The atmosphere was cozy and just what we were looking for for a relaxed lunch. Great food in a great spot!

There was no place to just say "some of it was good"

By Floyd0214 |

We ate there because Yelp gave good reviews and it was close to the Airport Doubletree where we were staying. Fortunately, my wife and friends speak Spanish, since our waitress did not speak any English. Unfortunately, my dish (Picadillo Criolla- supposed to be a shredded beef in spicy sauce) came out cool the first time, and then was a puddle of grease the second time that hurt my stomach. So, that meal was bad (except, the rice and beans on the side was very good). But, one of my friends ordered their Mofongo (that comes in a BIG wooden bowl), and they thought that dish was very good. The restaurant had an older musician playing that Saturday night, which was nice too. If you want some authentic food, give the place a try.

El Caribe . . .

By Donna E |

. . Is a classic Mexican hole-in-the-wall place with GREAT food. I'm especially fond of their enchiladas.

Very Good

Authentic Cuban food. Stopped for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised with good food and excellent service. On a busy street but easy access. A great find with reasonable prices.

Good food!

We had sandwiches and they were great! I had the club and my friend had the Cuban. Both sandwiches were excellent. The atmosphere was nice too.

Incredible Cuban find!

I was in Miami with my kids for one night.. Started looking on Trip Advisor for something local that had Cuban food offered.. Stumbled upon This restaurant and boy am I glad. Was literally one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. Service was great it helps if you know a little Spanish as they do not speak English Very well. Check out the photos And get an idea for yourself but it is a must visit

Lo siento. Yo no hablo Español.

By diehardjimmie |

Yes. I am sorry. I speak no Spanish. But that didn't stop us from eating there on our second visit to Miami. It's a short distance from the airport and our hotel so we indulged ourselves with our first breakfast while in Miami for work. I am not a coffee drinker but their cafe con leche was great. I had the El Mezclado JAMÓN y Huevo Mixto. Scrambled eggs with ham mixed in. Every time we go there, I think about taking Spanish lessons so I can understand. Worth a visit.

Good Cuban food

By SpokenWordInk |

This place has good prices and good Cuban food. You can eat inside or if you're in a hurry you can order at the window or sit on their stools. The service is okay, they could be a little more friendly. But, it's cheap and food is good.

Excellent Latino fare.

By bdgibson |

Everytime my wife and I come to the Miami area we always end up eating here. Real Latino food and great service.

Fine Miami Cuban fare

By Flushing G |

In for a night in Miami, we found this resto in Four Square; we walked the half mile to it in a hot Miami sun. Very few other people were afoot. We walked in a bit before three in the afternoon; the place was fairly busy. We each ordered a beer (3.99); Laura ordered the filete de pescado a la plancha ($12.49), served with rice and black beans (strangely, they charged 50 cents for tostones, though maduros were included in my order), and I ordered vaca frita ($10.99; also served with arroz y frijoles). Portions were large. The black beans were delicious, and my vaca frita was super. We aren't from Miami, but if I were to go visit again, I'd love to go back to eat here.

Place needs improvement.

The food lacked taste, I would not order from here again, the quality just did not meet my expectations. Service was very slow as well, it could have improved our visit, but it just made it worse.

AUTHENTIC CUBAN MIAMI EXPERIENCE

By Cecily C |

The atmosphere is superb, we have gone to Miami quite a few times in the last six months and every time we go we do not even try and locate a new place to eat because this place is so good!!! When we go on the weekends there is always a guy in there playing live music. The service and food is beyond belief and very authentic as most of the customers that I've seen are Latin. From the drinks to the food to the convenient locations I cannot recommend a better place to eat! Thank you for making our little vacations so amazing!

Great food and low prices

By MonTues |

The ambiance is that of a cafe not a restaurant. The food is great and at reasonable prices. The portions are huge and the service is prompt. The cafe has an open room with about 16 tables and two counters. Every time I come to Miami, I try to stop in for at least one lunch. In our most recent visit we had a party of four for lunch and we had Tostones and Yuca Frita for appetizers. Pure de Malanga, Sopa de Pollo, Fricase de puerco, and Tamal en Cazuela for entrees and the bill was under $30 for 4 people

A great experience

By MonTues |

We have visited this restaurant in other occasions, but continue to come back because the food is always good and the service is very quick, courteous, and professional. We had the chicken soup and "Carne con Papas" among other items. All the portions were very tasty, abundant, and very affordable.

Disappointed for a Cuban restaurant in the Miami area

By JimmyL2putts |

We tried the lunch based on the reviews and we were surprised why people gave good reviews for the restaurant. I ordered the palomilla steak with mash and plantains and my wife ordered the cod with potato and 2 sides. The food are barely warm and salty. It's hard to communicate with the waitress since she hardly speaks English. She delivered food with no silverware. This is the worst Cuban food restaurant experiences that we have in South Florida and it's in a community with a lot of Cubans. Try a different place for Cuban foods.

excellent food

Awesome breakfast at a great price. The best home breakfast potatoes I have ever had. Their empanadas are great as well. The staff is great and very friendly

LOVED this place!

By SeatOfMyPntsTravelr |

I'm kicking off a big project very nearby so I'll be frequenting this restaurant when I'm in town and looking forward to that. I've already recommended this place to colleagues. Very clean. Delicious food. Perfectly chilled ice cold Presidente cerveza. Nice large space that would be great for work gatherings.

Great Cuban food

By Michelle A |

Close to our hotel and we had to try it out. Had great Yelp reviews. Food was amazing. Cuban sandwiches, pitcher of beer and arroz con leche.

Omg I’m still salivating!

By Sirdwd |

So when I come to Miami, I have to have the authentic Caribbean food and flair. Not the South Beach or downtown overpriced stuff, but what you would eat if you were local. Friends took me to this spot in western Miami. It’s worth the trek. Great service. Does help to know or try and know some Spanish. Got the papa rellena and Pork Mofongo. I went to heaven with the seasonings and juices/mojo that were part of the Mofongo. Friend had the boliche de res and also had a mouth orgasm. Definitely on my list to come back when I return.

Check it out

Great, authentic Cuban food. I would highly recommend. Also, they have options for the less adventurous and you can get some basic American food that is also done well.

Must Stop By For a Bite

By Cattravel2018 |

Read reviews and decided to give it a try since it wasn't too far off the MIA airport. Food was really really good. Portions were big and the price was good. Everything was fresh even the Orange juice. The Cafe con Lecha was my favorite. Only odd thing was the bathroom. The stall doors were really low and the waiters hung out right outside the bathroom for the orders to be ready but don't judge this place by the bathroom stalls. The breakfast here was amazing

We really enjoyed this place. We had beef empanadas, shrimp creole with rice, black beans and fried plantains, and a Cubano type sandwich. All very tasty!

PERFECT CUBAN FOOD

By ihabelghazzawi |

I walked into this place on my own a few weeks ago. Everyone spoke Spanish. After asking for an English menu I ordered the Cuban Liver. It came with white rice and black beans and the usual plantain. The order did take a bit of time to arrive but once it did I was in heaven :-) I really had a delicious dinner at this place and it was cheap and cheerful and parking was easy too. I would recommend this place to anyone passing by.

Good breakfast

Good, fairly inexpensive breakfast breakfast for two under $15. Fast, friendly service. Both American & Latino food options.

Worth visiting

By shannonvann |

Stopped here on the way to Miami International because had good reviews on Yelp. Very friendly staff. Out of 4 dishes, one was amazing (the chicken), 2 okay (Cuban steak and wings) and one so so (wasn't mine so Im not sure what it was, sorry). The papa relleno was delicious. Cheap and quick. The rice and beans were really, really good.

Awsome Resterraunt

Best Food In Miami, I love e ating at this Place the food is extremly excellent the amount is awsome and it is a fair price and a Family Restaurant

Very Cuban

By Philip T |

The restaurant looked like a very popular eating and meeting place for the local community. It was a pleasant and busy place. A good selection on the menu, and very well priced. My wife only wanted a cheese and ham sandwich, and that came with small chip sticks. And had grilled fish and chips, both was very nice. The only draw back was the restrooms, they were very basic and a bit dirty. But overall a good place to eat.

El Caribe, Real Cuban Food

By TimCollier |

Thankfully I live only a mile from this wonderful taste of Cuba. The portions are large, the prices are cheap. If you miss your Cuban Mom's cooking, this will fill the void. I love this place. My whole family generally gathers there on Sunday afternoons. A good time is enjoyed by all. Plus, the food is delicious.

This place is habit forming..

By Don Wheeler |

A very nice Latin family restaurant with good food at reasonable prices. Most of the staff are bi-lingual and all are very friendly and service-oriented. Food is well-prepared and presented and (last but not least) the place (including the restrooms) are spotless at all times. Try the Vaca Frita de Pollo or one of the Latin sandwiches. Also, I believe they have live music here at night.

gets full quickly

By Ja Bu |

i have been here several times since i work closeby. during the lunch hour this place gets full quickly and the service falls apart. on several times had to wait almost 20 min to get food or get the check. when the rush is over the service is ok. this place is nothing fancy just a caferteria for a quick bite.
