Dinner after a long day

By Kris S |

Great service and food quality. Went after 9 on a Saturday and were seated promptly. Food service was quick and exactly what we wanted.

Great place for a quick bite!

By HappyFeetUSA |

Setup within reasonable distance from my visiting office, this place had nice ambiance and the menu and the drinks were typical Carrabba's. Service was fast and efficient and the food was of the right temperature.

Not up to par this time! Usually A+

By CariSB9671 |

One of my favorite restaurants With the best service & food around BUT today, we can’t get our waitress to wait on our table & Justin The Kitchen Manager is condescending & kept relaying messages to waitress & then when he did come out—he could not address our question as to why the normal aeoli sauce was not the same consistency as normal & tasted different....... we come here almost weekly & get this every time....we know what it is like! Where are the normal congenial front of the house managers & GM?

Good, tasty, reliable Italian restaurant

By JDH_AustinTx |

Reasonably priced Italian food. Good drinks. Ambiance ok, except it can get crowded. For us, a good go to Italian meal for pasta or meat.

So bad that it hurt.

By Sharon S |

Some of the utterly worst Italian food I have ever had. The service was good. The bread and olive oil was okay. The salad was ok. OMG. Main course was painful! We had veal piccata (not) and cheese ravioli (not). It could not have been worse. We split a meal as we always do, but I did not even finish due to the Poor quality. It was also cold, tasteless and not properly cooked. I am in a meeting and will call you shortly. just so dad that have sunk so low. I don’t think they can recover.

Pleasant surprise

By Bill K |

Manny was our waiter. Got capellini as a side dish with pomodoro sauce. I will order it that way from now on as it was the perfect size. My wife got a side of fettuccini Alfredo which was spectacular. Perfect seasoning and the noodles were magnificent. We split the strawberry salad. Amazing dressing. The Gorgonzola was excellent. Attentive waiter. Good restaurant.

Pasta Convention Reaches Consensus

By George A |

Our family party of 7 enjoyed the company, stories and emotion of the rare gathering. We all enjoyed and shared our entrées but there were three plates that stood out. The Lasagna and Fettuccine Alfredo were good but the outstanding entrées were in no particular order: Lobster Ravioli, Shrimp & Scallop Linguine Alla Vodka and Fettuccine Weesie. From the tangy and tasty Fettuccine Weesie to the flavorful Shrimp & Scallop Linguine Alla Vodka to the creamy and delicious Lobster Ravioli, our meals were a festival of flavors from the sea, pastas and sauces.

Amazing Service!!

By Eileen D |

WOW. I am literally blown away by the experience I just had with Carrabba’s. I have never eaten there, and decided for my last meal before I went on a Keto diet, that I would get some pasta, and this is my son’s favorite place. I ordered delivery from Uber Eats, and even though the restaurant is 18 miles from my home, delivery was available. About 35 minutes after I ordered, my order was suddenly canceled, with no explanation. Uber Eats doesn’t have a way for customers to chat, phone or email, so there was no way for me to ask them what happened. At this point it was too late to order any decent Italian delivery from any other restaurant, so I decided to try and call the restaurant to see why the order was canceled and if maybe I ordered something they were out of. I spoke to a nice young man named Ethan, who said the same thing happened on their end and my order was actually sitting right there ready to go, but he said maybe his manager could help find out why Uber Eats canceled the order. Janine the manager got on the phone and was super nice and said she had a number she could call to see if they could figure out how to get my food to me and would call me back. She called back and what she did blew me away. She said Uber Eats said I needed to put another order in to get my food, but she didn’t think that was a good solution. She not only was going to have Ethan use his own car to bring my order to me, even though he wasn’t a delivery driver, but she was going to have them remake my order so it would be fresh AND wasn’t going to charge me anything for my order!! I couldn’t believe it! So Ethan drove 18 miles each way to bring my order to me. He was so nice as well!! The food was amazing to say the least!! I’ve never had a restaurant go so above and beyond for a customer before. I did give him a generous tip but it was much less than I would have paid for the meal, so the least I could do was write a great review for them. With the pandemic, restaurants are struggling, and this is one that deserves your business!! What a great team Carrabba’s has! Thank you Janine and Ethan!

Love this place

BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER BY KELSIE!!!

By Amy G |

Hello! I'd like to say that we received the BEST service from Kelsie the other day when we came to your restaurant! We never had to want for anything and she anticipated everything! I sincerely hope that she gets rewarded for her unmatched customer service. We'll ask for her next time!

A fun place to meet friends

By Glynis M |

There were 8 of us for dinner on a Monday night and they were full. The staff was able to seat us quickly and our waiter almost beat us to the table. He was friendly and helpful and made it through all 8 of us with no problems. The food was excellent as would be expected. We all had a great time.

Great server and great food

By Glen J |

I'd like to compliment Jay who is one of the best servers that we've had at any restaurant. We come to this Carrabbas once a month with our 2 grandkids and get great treatment whenever we are lucky enough to have Jay serve us. Besides that we all enjoy the great meal.

Consistent

By KegMaster |

This is part of a chain and the food here was consistent with others we have been to. Large portions. Friendly staff. Entrees around $15. Decent wine and beer selection.

Disappointed in Austin

By LV4NMLS |

I used to crave Carrabba's fresh baked bread with their olive oil and seasoning dip, as well as the calamari. So I was sorely disappointed to find that not only did the quality and quantity of the food spiral downward, but the prices rose up! Their bread tasted like day-old- bread; the calamari was chewy rather than crispy and airy. I usually get the spaghetti with meatballs, but oh my gosh, it was the saddest, driest pasta I've ever had in my entire life. I believe that all Italian or even American-Italian establishments should make delicious pasta, especially spaghetti, but this was a sad excuse of pasta, if I've ever seen one! This particular location should change their cooks, because the quality of food has gone way down. It's the only Carrabba's in Austin, so they don't have an excuse for serving such poor quality food at those prices. I love food and I never mind paying for it, but I have expectations, and this was so disappointing that I won't be back.

They never disappoint.

This is my favorite Italiian restaurant, but I don't get eat there enough. Join the Amici club!

Excellent pasta

By josephedward71 |

Very flavorful Italian dishes, reasonably priced, and great service. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and highly recommend.

Good food

By Peggy D |

Food was very good. Would have rated 5 stars if they had had their tomato basil soup which they claim is seasonal. The San Antonio location always has the tomato basil soup which is a favorite of my family.

Italian done Gluten Free

By KAREN D |

The wait staff understood Gluten Free and helped me make a great selection. Very understanding and great attitude about my questions

Great Place for a Graduation Lunch

By Cedar_Park_chump |

We had my son's graduation lunch at Carrabba;s today. We had a party of 13. The service was flawless. Our waiter was a great partner for our party. He worked to coordinate appetizers, taking orders, entee, and assisting us with the cake we brought in for our party with our party. He also kept drinks coming throughout the time we were there. I was amazed at how few people were in the restaurant, which made the place even better. The food was the usual good Carrabas food. We ordered mozzarella sticks and fried zucchini appetizers. The cheese sticks were good the zucchini was OK. I generally don't order appetizers, but they worked well with the party. They weren't good enough and they were too expensive for me to order in the future. Our entrees were great. My wife and I had Shrimp Rafael, which is an off-menu appetizer that we order in entree size. It is fried shrimp in a lemon butter sauce, with lots of garlic. It also comes with crustini, My daughter had Linguini Positano, which she liked. She particularly liked the garlic that was throughout the dish. My son chose Carraba's because its food is better than the average Italian restaurant, making it a great place for our party. The excellent service we experienced today made it perfect.

Good Food, Comfortable Atmosphere, Friendly Staff...Genuine!

By Nikki W |

Friday night at 7:30pm in Austin TX certainly has the potential to create anxiety and impatience. Not here! We arrived to a Standing Room Only environment, and yet felt a strong sense of comfort and relaxation. Our 50 min wait at the bar for our table only served to enhance the overall dining experience as our bartender seemed quite versed in his drink making skills as well as his desire to please the customer. Once seated, we were promptly attended to by a very respectful waiter who addresses the male first with the utmost respect, setting the tone for our dining experience. The food was timely. The quality, very good. The spinach was a tad salty but that served to offset the huge cloves of garlic for certain. Otherwise, the taste of our food was very nice. We opted for seafood entrees. Loved the basil lemon cream sauce! Another perk was the dressing. Creamy parmasean and the house Italian were both amazingly delicious. Service was impeccable and quite witty! The bill was much less than we anticipated, exiting for under $50 for 2 top shelf margaritas, appetizer and seafood entrees. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves in spite of the long wait for a table. We loved the environment so much that we will make this a regular stop in Austin.

A great place for Italian food!

By Dave M |

This is one of the best places where I’ve ever had Italian food (counting both national chains and local establishments). My wife and I would go here every year for our anniversary dinner, because we knew we’d get friendly service and excellent food. We never had a bad experience here. Carrabba’s is a casual location so it’s perfect for an evening family meal, as well as couples dressing a little nicer to have a more elegant date night. Because there’s carpet and lots of other soft surfaces, the noise level is low so quite conversation is possible. When my friend came in from out of town, this was the best place to treat her to for her birthday dinner. We started with an appetizer of zucchini sliced like fries, which was very tasty. My friend the special which paired lasagna and grilled chicken together, which she enjoyed, although her side of spinach had way too much garlic for her taste. I got my beloved chicken parm dish, with some minestrone soup. The menu items are varied, so you can find something you like for just about every Italian food taste. The portions are large, and extremely filling, so we ended up getting take-home boxes. There’s also a list of decadent desserts (which we didn’t have room for this time), but I’ve had in the past so I know how good they are.

Fast take out - great service

By Erin S |

Called my order in ahead of time to take out and it was hot and ready to go when I arrived. Brought it right to my car with all the utensiles and extras I needed, including bread with olive oil and herbs! Would eat here again!

Carrabba's is always a winner!

By Sandra L |

I have never had a meal at Carrabba's that wasn't excellent. The atmosphere is really nice and their servers are well-informed of the dishes available and willing to help you choose something perfect.

If you enjoy fresh bread with herbs and oil, eat here

By Shelleyash |

We really enjoy eating the bread with the herbs in the oil. We also think the food here is delicious! Our waiter was very polite and prompt with our order.

Great Italian Food, But Some Dishes Way Too Salty!

By RandM45 |

We have dined at Carrabbas in Houston many times --- excellent! We have been to the Austin Carrabbas three times now for lunch, and have found the service and food quality to be generally good. Unfortunately, we have found too much salt for our tastes in the soups and appetizers, and probably won't be going back to the Austin site. During our most recent visit the Tuscan and Minestrone soups were so salty that neither of us could finish them --- same with the sauce on the meatballs and on the stuffed mushrooms.

Excellent food and service

By Della V |

Everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the Mother's Day special, a champagne seafood linguine dish. It was wonderful. Alex was our server and he was welcoming and attentive. Great place.

A re-check - still delightful

By ReenTS |

My 3rd visit for dinner & I took a dear friend who really needed an uplifting meal. We had the Italian lettuce cups and they certainly were filling. My friend's meal of shrimp, pasta, and mushrooms was too much & she took 1/2 of it home. We ate bread w/olive oil/ balsamic vinegar and that was good , but a mistake. It smelled great & was warm out of the oven! Our stomaches were not large enough. It was happy hour, so my friend got a nice pomegranate martini, well 2, & loved them! Salads were crispy & just right with the dressings too. Spinach was cooked perfect w/ OO & a wee bit of garlic. Simple fresh tomatoes upon the white fish was great "whole food". I am not into sauces or cover ups on food. The meal was a success, my friend felt perked up, & we went home w/ food.

Quick catering pick up with excellent service!

By Slightly_Chaotic |

Most people write reviews because of something negative that happened. I think it’s also important to give a shout out when you have excellent service. I picked up a catering order today and helped by Ryan. He was efficient, communicative, and very friendly. My order was ready and out the door on time and super yummy! Go see Ryan, he’s definitely an asset to the Carrabba’s family

good food

A great place to stop in for Italian. Its a change from the other chains.. If you are in the area do stop by and taste their great food.

Good food...really loud...

Good food...really loud atmosphere

Disappointed

By TexanJohn |

We tried their "Monday-only 3-course $12 special". First of all the fine print is "from $12" since only a few entrees are this price. Others are $15 & $18. My wife and I both had the same pasta dish which we both thought was OK but not great. My daughter had a breaded and fried ravioli dish which sounded good but was the real disappointment. The chocolate dessert was very yummy. We had good service and a very good waiter. We like the atmosphere here and have had great food in the past plus consistently good service. Last evening was somewhat disappointing.

too expensive for average!

By Scott J |

cocktails, average. Mozzarella sticks bad. Soup excellent. Clams excellent. Bread poor. Chianti poor, especially for an Italian place. Alfredo poor. Rib-eye poor.

It Hit On All Cylinders! We Loved It!

By traveltoes1957 |

We've been going to Carrabbas for many, many years, but have never written a review. Just wanted to say that we can always count on Carrabbas to deliver a great Italian meal! Kudos to this company! We love you!

Business Meeting

Large table accommodated 12 people in group. Not real private but could sit together. Good food choices. Good service.

Better than Olive Garden

By Caltex77 |

Carrabba's is pretty good for Italian food. Better than Olive Garden, but I prefer Macaroni Grill.

The best entre is not on the menu

By paulwilj |

Veal parmesan is on of my facorite Italian dishes. It is not on the menu (chicken is) but if you ask for it you will get it!. Every time I go to Carrabbas I order it. Fantastic?

Dinner with Friends

By Melanie P |

The dinner salad was good. The chicken alfredo and bread were okay. The staff was very helpful and nice.

Would not recommend!

By Nakstrani |

We called ahead about 40 minutes to make a reservation anticipating dinner crowd. Plus, we had specifically mentioned that we had kids in our party. When we arrived at the restaurant, not only was there no table for us but we were told we would need to wait some more. The issue I have is that they could have told us so on the phone "Ma'am/Sir, we are experiencing an extremely busy day and cannot guarantee you a table when you arrive." It would have sufficed as a warning. Would we have gone someplace else? Probably. But I hate it when restaurants take reservations but then do not honor them! Since it was too cold to venture out again, we decided to stay put. While we were waiting, we saw that they were allowing folks to go ahead of us because they complained (to the host) about the wait. There were other families (with kids/elderly folks) who had arrived before us and were patiently waiting their turn! This was extremely unprofessional behavior by the host. Instead of being bullied into giving seats to people out of turn they should have told them to wait their proper turn. I was hoping the service & the food would be worth all this drama & almost an hour of waiting. It was not so. There were no apologies from the host or our server for the wait we had to endure. And the food is definitely not out of this world. It is your 'usual Italian fare found in the American restaurants' kind of food. The service was okay. What really put me off is the carpet in the dining area. It needs a thorough shampooing (at the very minimum). It is not only tired looking but extremely dirty and I felt yucky dining in there. A person was trying to clean up around us while we dined adding to the overall 'not so nice' feel. Fortunately, our appetites had been killed by then. We ended up ordering just the main course - no drinks, appetizers or dessert. The food was decent but it was cold when it arrived. I'm guessing it probably sat for a while before we were served. We tried their Lobster Ravioli & Chicken Bryan. We also ordered a side of Fettucine Alfredo for the kids. There was another wait to get the check. So if you are in the mood for the 'usual' Italian food and don't mind the wait, do head over to Carrabba's. It is the only Carrabba's in Austin...but there are other good Italian restaurants that are probably worth your time & money. I would prefer you don't waste either and go someplace else (try Macaroni Grill instead).

Are we on Fire?

By Kim D |

We had a large party on a Friday night. The food was good that wait staff was fantastic...BUT it was so smoky! Like smoke was filling the restaurant. When another part of our party arrived they were told the restaurant was closed due to a fire, they told them the rest of the party was already there so they let them stay. We finally asked the waitress if we should be concerned as the smoke was BAD and she assured us we were fine the vents were not working above the grills. It was odd and it was smoky but we enjoyed the company and again the wait staff was great.

Carrabbas was a good choice for old friends to get together.

By mr_larry_smith |

Long time friends from out of town got together to catch up here. The service was friendly, menu was extensive, and the food was very good.

Good Italian food chain.

Opportunity missed

By Oct_Exit |

We went to this location of Carrabba's on mothers day. Service was pitiful, we had to beg for butter 4 times before receiving our request. When salads arrived several salads were spilled/dumped. One of our guests received a sleeve soaking. The waiter quickly responded with a comment that at least nobody was hurt by the breaking dish. Manager came over and quickly replaced salads. My spilled tea was replaced. Another member of management came by later and asked about meal unaware of previous incidents. We commented on incidents and she commented that she hoped rest of meal went well. The chicken soup I always order was way over cooked and noodles were pasty and liquid was full of dissolved noodles. At end of meal there was no mention of any consideration for incidents. We asked to see Manager and he returned to table. We indicated we were regulars of this chain and were surprised that our guest that was coveredwilts oil should have received an offer of a dessert at least? Manager grumbled and took our bill and returned with an adjustment of 50% but no apology. We are still fans of Carrabba's just not this location

Yum

By Gail M |

Birthday celebration recommended by friend. Delicious! Home made pasta. Loved the alfredo shrimp dish, and the zuccini appetizer. All good! Def will go back!

the specials are special!

By trackerem |

my son picked this out for the pasta, the 3 course meal for $12 was what got us there. only problem, it's only on Mondays! but they had a 'second's special' where you pick a meal for $13 & you actually get 2 of them! we took home 3 boxes of food! the clam linguine was wonderful! we also had the wine special: 4 kinds of wine for the price of 1 glass. none of us are wine drinkers but it was good. eating the specials, the cost is good, otherwise, too high.

Good dinner in a friendly atmosphere

By Marilyn D |

This is the last Carrabba's in the Austin area. We have always had good food and service. The decor is dated, and could use a refresh, but was clean and fairly well kept. We had the speidine del mar, and the rigatoni with sausage and peppers. The scallops and shrimp were perfectly cooked, and seasoned. The pasta was good, with their sauce being a sweet and spicy type, It was happy hour when we arrived, and they had half price appetizer, and drink specials, which we took advantage of even when seated in the dining area. We sat near the open kitchen area, and it was good to see the camaraderie between the cooks and staff. We were glad we went there and enjoyed the food and the friendly and attentive staff.

Great food and service..

By Anita C |

Haven't been to N Austin Carrabba's in several years but had lunch today and it was as outstanding as pre-covid19. Kevin, our server, was a delight and very efficient, and service is quick. Thanks y'all for a great 20th Anniversary lunch.

Was ok but not great

By sgpayne |

Waitress got our order incorrect so we had to wait longer for the correct food to be cooked. That was disappointing. Waitress was nice but she spoke so fast every time she came to the table we could barely catch what she was saying. In the end the veal chop was cooked perfectly and the Parmesan chicken was delicious. I don't like their menu though. There are a lot of items that are not clearly described and should have pictures. Haven't been there in a long while; will probably be a long while before we go back.

Great Italian Food in N Austin

By AustinActor |

This is an awesome chain up in North Austin. You will not be let down by it’s great dishes and reasonable prices. I went for the champagne chicken this time. A brilliant choice with asparagus and angel hair pasta. Listen to me, this is a brilliant choice to come here.

No Show

By Irene M |

We went to eat after Christmas day and they were short staff. They Hostesses and Management had to help clean up tables only 2 wait staff showed up. The food took longer and that's cause we only ordered salads. Our drinks were empty if you are going to be short staff don't open to the public.

Incredibly tasty...nice mellow decor

By drsxr1 |

I usually come the Grill to celebrate wins...you know, promotions, special birthdays, winning the Nobel peace prize..the food is just wonderful. I am not certifying that all dishes are equally great, as I pretty much stuck on one dish...chicken breast(s) with prosciutto layered across the top with some incredible white creamy sauce...if its not on the menu, they will still make it for you...might have Rosa in the title...I have been ordering this for years, and it never fails me...I usually dine later in the evening, when the rush has passed, so that I don't feel an obligation to scarf and run...at any rate, for a franchise, really surprisingly good food.

Home style Italian done right

By Pocholoboy |

The friendly atmosphere and great Italian eats is always a welcome dining experience at Carrabbas! The pasta dishes are all worth trying, and I love their Rocco salad - a Caesar with shrimp and scallops that is so fresh and tasty.

Food was good...server not so much..

By srgnix |

Food was very good, but really disappointed in our waitress. We went early to avoid the mad rush Saturday evening and didn't have to wait for a table. However, after we were seated all the other tables became full. We sat for some time before she even came over to our table...watched all the other tables who were seated after us get their drinks/bread. Just made for an irritating evening instead of a relaxing dinner. Had to ask for refills, bread the entire meal. I give waiters and waitresses much slack when things are busy etc. However, when I watch everyone else receive their service while ours is ignored it becomes a problem with me. Food was great though...

New managers are working hard to get restaurant running smoothly

By PFW |

Hadn't been to this restaurant in several months as the service and general staff attitude (especially the management ) was waning. We had been regulars for many years and appreciated the good food and also the friendliness and care of the servers and managers. The new manager checked in with us during our meal and in conversation told us that they are really working on winning back lost customers. They cook their food from scratch and will try to accommodate a diner's request. The food is fresh and there are several new items on the menu as well as daily specials. We will be going back. Our server was very pleasant and helpful. Positive vibes.

Awesome lunch

By SuTx |

Just went last weekend. We had a group of 18 or so. Our server was Jay, and he was outstanding. The food came out quickly and at the correct temperature. Everyone was impressed with the quality of food. They have an awesome lunch menu. I tried their soup, salad, and small plate option. The chicken soup was hearty, the Italian salad had lots of fun stuff in it, and the asparagus was to die for.

Fun Dining In North Austin

not your typical carrabas grill

By leo_travel_agent |

i have been to 7 different carrabas in 7 states and this place ranks dead last.I went on a monday and they had a 3 course meal and everything tasted so bland even there famous fresh bread with herbs.I eat at carrabas often so i know how it suppose to taste like.I ordered a italian classic and it tasted bland i had to season my own food i should have stayed home and cooked whats the point if i have to do it.The desert was horrible and i just wanted to get up and leave.I would never return.

Our favorite for date night, but great for families, too

By chemtex |

There's a wide variety of food, from pizzas to steak and seafood, but don't miss the salads and soups. Tomato basil is a summer favorite, and italian wedding soup is a perfect winter meal starter. Ask for the perfect entree salad by name, Johnny Rocco. It includes many shrimp and succulent mussels, black olives on a perfectly dressed bed of greens. Be sure to save room for a John Cole - vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce and roasted cinnamon rum pecans One for the table, with many spoons, is the perfect ending of any meal.

Went for dessert only

By Jen78703 |

I haven't been to Carrabba's in years. The last time I was there the overwhelming smell of some fish was so bad my friend had to leave because she was getting nauseous. So I never returned. But a friend wanted to go here for dessert so I was happy to tag along. The host was delightful- we were all carrying gift bags so she seated us away from everyone else. Our server was also very nice- it was within an hour of closing but we were all ordering dessert so he was probably both annoyed and relived. He offered to make us a fresh pot of decaf! I ordered the seasonal fruit dessert. It was barely warm. So I just asked to have it boxed up. My friends really enjoyed the hazelnut gelato and the mini cannolis. I see they have some inexpensive specials on Mondays and Tuesdays so I'll probably be back with my hubby.

Disappointing.

By Nick J |

I work at The Domain, and I ordered food for lunch to be delivered. I got my food rather quickly, and was excited because I had really good Italian food the day before and was looking forward to trying a new restaurant. Unfortunately, it wasn’t great. The spaghetti was very bland, and didn’t include a lot of sauce. It was so disappointing, that I got more enjoyment from the bread from the Bread and Dipping Sauce Trio. They also didn’t pack the drink I ordered. That wasn’t a huge deal for me, but it made me regret not ordering from Maggiano’s. This was just a disappointing experience.

Great service; great food

By JeanneM_1959 |

Carrabba's Italian Grill is one of my favorite places to eat. Yes, it is a "chain" restaurant, but it's the only location in Austin and they consistently provide excellent service and fabulous food. Avoid holidays because the wait list can be long, but otherwise I have rarely had to wait very long to get a table. (It's been a long time since my kids were little, but they used to provide the little ones a piece of pizza dough to play with an build their own little pizza, which my kids loved to do. Not sure if they still do this.)

Could Not Believe How Good!

By Helen54130 |

Taken here as a treat...VERY yummy food and a fantastic waiter! Soup was to die for. The lobster stuffed ravioli was excellent plus. For sure a must if you are in the area!

Fantastic!

By MsPibb |

This was our second time at this carrabbas. We were not disappointed! The wine was excellent, the food amazing, and the service was outstanding! It was not a cheap meal, but a great dining experience!

New and improved

By Jerry R |

Recently I went to Carrabba's Italian Grill after a long absence, and was very pleased with my meal. They have revised the Menu and added many new items. I used to be a frequent customer but stopped going when I moved to Texas. They happen to be 30 plus miles away, and I started going to places that were closer to home. I have now added them to my regular customer list and am anxious to try some of the other new things on the menu. They have also added a reward club that they combine with the other restaurants in the chain.

Okay Amero-Italian, Pricey

By Michael M |

For a chain Italian restaurant it was pretty good. But there were no highlights. Everything was decent, but not special. Service was great, ambiance was good. We had a coupon yet the bill was more than I'd expect. Not much to add. It was okay.

Went back for old times...Not much had changed except size and prices !!

By Renee L |

When we lived in the neighborhood we would have all our special events at Carrabba's...kid birthdays, anniversaries, date nights..Always pleasant over the years. We moved away 5 years ago and were in town so decided to go back. Still the same good food, great service but WOW..portions were very small and the prices had gone up. Dont know how a family or a date can afford to go their very often!

Service Too Slow to Wait for Dinner

By George A |

My wife and I decided to enjoy Carrabba's tonight. We waited a long time which was unusual since the restaurant was not full. After we got tired of waiting, friend of ours who arrived 16 minutes after U.S. Got their table in 15 mins. We waited a bit longer then found out our pager wasn't working so the restaurant could not "find us". No worries though...just happy to get a table at this point. We were hungry. Table service was so slow that we wondered when our appetizer would arrive. The server finally came by to deliver the glass of wine I ordered 20 mins before and we placed our order for the entrée. After another half hour we gave up waiting for dinner. Our server arrived with dinner salads but we weren't in the mood to wait all night to complete dinner, have drinks refreshed and feel like we were being served. It was perhaps our worst experience dining and that says a lot since we eat out quite frequently. To leave a fine restaurant without dining is something I have never done before.

Excellent food

By Mrpigpow |

We love this restaurant. Isaac the manager is awesome. The wait staff are very well trained for a professional and very quick very awesome dinner. The bathrooms are clean the restaurant is clean very nice. I highly recommend this restaurant with family and friends and will definitely be returning soon.

We shared three dishes, two appetizers and a pasta that were ample for the two of us. The rice and meat balls, were tasty, the crab cakes full of crab, and the simple pasta with herbs, garlic and olive oil reminiscent of Tuscany. Service was prompt and the noise level low.

Good Italian Food

We came here after the F1 Grand Prix race. Very calm atmosphere, casual elegant. Good food, predictable quality like all other Carraba's restaurants. Our waiter Jeff R. was attentive and did an excellent job. Really no complaints here, would come back any time. I enjoyed their pasta dishes and like their tiramisu, which is more of a light whipped cream than heavy mascarpone.

Best Italian Food Ever!

My favorite dish here is Shrimp Rafael. It is not on the menu (used to be but was replaced by Shrimp Scampi) but you can ask for it. I love the Chicken Bryan also. The goat cheese on this dish is a perfect compliment to the lemon sauce. Great food, good service and moderately priced.

Good and disappointing at the same time

Carrabba's is part of the Outback family of restaurants. It portends to be a better and higher class place than it actually is. This outpost was very uneven for our dinner. My Caesar salad and salmon were quite good. The side pasta dish was meh. My wife's chicken alfredo was disappointing as it was topped with a plethora of green peas (she does not like green peas). Although she picked them out, it was disappointing. The one bright spot was the server. She was excellent. Prices are high by about $5 per entree. This is a serviceable restaurant, but not a great one.

A Surprise

I had never been to this restaurant and I think it is the only one in my area? I had a late appointment close by so I wanted to eat early before going home. I had a coupon for a free appetizer so I tried the steamed mussels. Great! Wine list is nice and not too long to select from. Main dish was Chicken Marsala. Tender, but the sauce was too salty for me. I normally cook without salt. I just scraped the sauce off and picked out the mushrooms. Next time I will ask for sauces on the side. Huge dinner salad. Lovely hot bread, but I only ate one piece. I certainly will try this place again as the service was Gold Star.

Disappointed

We eat at Carrabas at least once a month. My husband loves their capellini w/meat sauce. We are in our 70's & both of us have hearing issues. Tonight we were there later & asked for a booth if possible. The hostess said there were no booths available & proceeded to take us to a table in between two tables of at least 4 people. As we walked to be seated, we passed by at least 3 booths that were empty & clean. We told the hostess that we would prefer to sit by the window due to our hearing difficulties. She accommodated us but it really bothered us that we could not have been seated in one of the booths as we requested. The food is always good as was our waitress but the lack of courtesy was bothersome.

Fabulous

Time to close the doors

For those of us that have been going to Carrabbas for years know that this one has been going down hill. Today was a very new low. The hostess let us know that there would be a 5 minute wait even though there were about 25 empty tables. We chose to sit at the bar instead of wait. The service wasn't good or bad but what really killed it for me was the roach crawling on the bar. All wasn't lost. Manager found the roach, killed it in front of us and let us know she'd call pest control tonight and for our trouble, she didn't charge for the appetizer.

A very popular restaurant in Northwest Austin

We dined at this Carrabba's on a Saturday night early in June. There was not an empty seat in the restaurant and the wait time for a table was approx. 30 minutes. Many of the patrons were families with children and the noise level was very high. However, the staff was very well organized and did their best to attend to everyone's requests. Our meals were served quickly and the portions were large. The food was rich and, to our tastes, salty. We were glad that we had ordered all of our sauces and dressings on the side. With wine, entrees, dessert, and the tip, our bill for 2 approached $ 80. After our meal, we were left wondering whether we would have received more value for our money at a different restaurant or perhaps even enjoyed 2 nice meals out elsewhere for the same price. To avoid a long wait time and enjoy a more quiet dinner, we would recommend visiting before 5:30 or after 8:30.

Nothing bad to say....

We went to the Carrabba's a few weeks ago and had the pleasure of being served by Jake. I don't know if there are other Carrabba's in Austin, but this was located on Research Blvd. I can't think of even one thing to make them down on. Jake was great, the menu was extensive and tasty, and the bread and olive-oil dip was REALLY killer! They have a deal right now where if you order from a certain selection of menu items, you get an order of the same to go....complimentary! I don't remember the name but my dish had chicken and mushrooms and pasta and it was very tasty. I was able to easily make four meals out of the two, but I don't over-stuff myself. We even were given an extra loaf of bread to eat with our leftovers. Everything was great -- no complaints except I wish there was one closer to where we live. MORE COUPONS PLEASE.
