Contemporary Steakhouse Dinner … Very Good Experience

By CharlieinTexas |

First time at this fairly recently opened restaurant. Dinner with my wife, daughter, and son-in-law. Valet parked car ($8), but free parking in garage across the street — which I will use next time. Restaurant feels like a contemporary steakhouse should feel. Clean lines, spacious, but cozy enough, and lighting was perfect, not too bright, but not too dark. Terrance, our server, was friendly, even enthusiastic, about the food. Great menu, lots of choices; do wish they had a non-chicken gried pork chop and that they offered the prime rib as a stand alone entree (every night). Happy hour was modest, a few dollars off appetizers and some drinks, other than in regard to the oysters … great deal! The appetizers were tasty. Fire roasted oysters with butter, onions, and cheese were superb. Dill salmon was a nice presentation, and refreshingly delicious. Tenderloin toast excellent too. Ribeye, 22 oz, bone in, prepared Pittsburgh style was perfectly charted, tender, juicy, and well-seasoned. Wedge salad was good size and dressing was delicious. Mushrooms were great. Mashed potatoes were smooth/creamy, but overly salty (with capers). Creamed spinach was a miss, as it was not served hot enough and lacked flavor; bland really. Hiw can spinach not be “spinachy” enough? Odd, really. Redfish was moist and well-seasoned. Lemon bar dessert was fantastically lemony. Coffee was solid. Server was great with recommendations and filled the water glasses in a timely manner. I liked this restaurant. Pricey, but really good food overall, and great steaks!

Another Delicious Meal! Enjoyable Venue.

Great meal. Friendly servers, and a big thank you to our primary server, Savannah (see photo) — very engaging, prompt/efficient, attentive, and seemed to enjoy what she was doing. Savannah made a great neal an even better dining experience. Started with the beet salad with whipped feta — nice presentation, tasty, and a great start. The grilled oysters, which we ordered last time, should be a signature dish for oyster lovers. Served at a perfect temperature, cheese was lightly charred, and delicious. Cauliflower cheese flatbread-like dish also a winner. Salmon and NY strip perfect … fish was moist and well-seasoned and the steak, medium rare grilled Pittsburgh style, was a great piece of meat! Sides were solid too, in particular the sautéed mushrooms - yum! -, and the creamed spinach and corn brûlée were tasty. Not a fan of the cauliflower (I think) mashed potatoes. My tequila cocktail, with amaretto was refreshingly different and a nice start. My wife enjoyed. Her white wine. Latte for dessert was a great cup of coffee. Comfortable venue, easy parking, with enjoyable servers.

I can only give this place a mediocre rating due to "fair-to-poor" service and food that was okay but not particularly great. Atmosphere was very loud with blaring music that was deafening. Our party asked the management three times to turn it down a little, but to no avail. Seating was uncomfortable, but they implied that we were expected to vacate our table anyway within 60 to 90 minutes. The waitress brought a cocktail that no one ordered so she said it was "comped", but she still added it to my check. All-in-all, it's expensive, noisy, uncomfortable, with poor service and pedestrian-grade food. I won't be going back and wouldn't recommend it to friends.

Appetizers were good

Meatloaf & Ribs were horrible. Appetizers, drinks & service were great. Nice location, but won’t go back. Applebees would have been better.

we will return!

Carve is part of the Perrys chain so we went with high aspirations and they did not disappoint. food was well prepared, selection was good and service was very good, manager (miles?) came by and checked on us to be sure everything met or exceeded our expectations. we will return.
