Spanish cuisine and ambiance without the jet lag!

By Mauro V |

We had visitors from out of town interested in specialty dining. Casa Juancho was an excellent choice. We ordered some tapas to start which were excellent. When the entrées came they were huge so we were really filled. Grouper, langostinos a la Catalana and the Conejo (rabbit) were delicious.

A little bit of Spain

I miss Casa Juancho and its celebration on December 31

By lgmartindelcampo |

We went as a family to spend New Year's Eve 2023 and sadly it is no longer the celebration like they did before. There were no students, no balloons, no decorated tables... that is to say: there was no celebration that we enjoyed so much and that made it very fun and lively to go to Casa Juancho for New Year's Eve dinner. Excellent service. The food was very good BUT the rest was no joke. I hope they return to celebrate the end of the year like before

The best Spanish restaurant in town

By oscari995 |

We have been going to this restaurant for many, many years. To celebrate birthdays, or a rehearsal dinner, or just to have a nice "Spanish" meal. The atmosphere is incredible Spaniard. You really feel like you are in a tavern in Old Castille. The tapas are great. Their "callos a la madrileña" are one of my favorites. An their main dished are excellent too. Don't forget their sangria, one of the best. One of their specialties is, of course, the "paella". However, a little secret that I will share with you. The best paella cook is a gentleman from Haiti. So, I suggesto that you ask who is in charge at the kitchen before ordering your paella (seafood paella is the best). The people at the valet are rude the same as the General Manager (he looks tired of his job). The rest of the servers are excellent people (for the most part). If you want a more reserved area, ask to be seated on the small room next to the bar.

Best surprise in this tirp

By Rogerio Tovar |

This restaurant was a tip from a waitress from Cafe Prima Pasta, Mayer, who is Spanish. And it was a great tip that I pass on to you. Starting with the rather typical ambience, hams Pata Negra at the entrance, waiters in typical costumes. And the food lives up to its name. Vallet parking is available.

Well it’s not bad but is

By george h |

Well it’s not bad but is not the reality of Spain, the prices is high leaving the wine. We were with a friends on Valentine’s Day and pay $ 100per person , regular tapas and acceptable meat. Good luck

Authetic in more ways than one

By Edward Ecurb |

One thing you need to know is Latins like to socialize in groups and everyone talks at the same time, so things can get loud. It was downright “loungey" in civility when we first arrived at about 6:30 but we left by about 8:15 because my wife got a head ache (and she’s Cuban!). But the food was pretty good, at least what we ate. A little pricey but no more so than other comparable restaurants. We had a paella which is supposedly famous and it was loaded with ingredients (seafood in our case) and very flavorful, but I prefer the rice to be drier and somewhat crispy (think fried rice.) If you go there just remember that “authentic” doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll like it, but that’s the point of trying new things.

Delicious Spanish food

By Asier |

The food is delicious and service is great, they even talk with Spanish accent. I ate the pargo with stuffed peppers and chocolate mousse and recommend it a lot.

a re visit

By BZTMAN |

Excellent menu with above average food presentation and flavor. service was decent but not incredible. excellent wine list and ambiance. we had a very pleasant dinner for 3. so we were able to taste around. will do it again but at that price not too regularly. live mariachi is a nice touch.

Birthday Celebration

By Lewis C |

I have heard so much about this place, perhaps too much... For a Tuesday, in August it was busier than most places I am used to, but I live more north and more seasonal of an area. Still, I expected better service, it's not a French restaurant, be more festive and attentive, guys!. Perhaps the waiters know their repeat customers and we all looked like one timers. I can't be a judge of the food from one dish and the only person I would have shared ordered the same. My soup was cold, I don't mind it warm. Someone else would have complained. I liked what I ordered, it was right. Some dishes are not common in most US restaurants, but typical of Spanish Peninsular places. And it is in Little Havana but it is NOT CUBAN! So don't expect the same stuff than La Carreta. Thankfully! Also, one has to valet park and if the waiters were surly, they were sweethearts in comparison with the drivers outside, and $7 fee, and a tip expected makes the parking a bit expensive. The outside also smells like a cigar parlor. That's why they got 4 instead of a 5, maybe I am tolerant.

Amazing Everything!

By Celeste O |

Any thing you order here will be great! It is authentic Spanish food. One of our favorite restaurants! Definitely a great place for groups. Make sure to make a reservation on holidays, as it can get packed. In the evening, there is a group of Spanish musicians that go from table to table. The service is also exceptional!

BETTER THAN EVER!!!

By Carlos G |

This is my second review of Casa Juancho. Visited Casa Juancho this Sunday and had a GREAT experience. I had clients visiting from overseas and they were impressed with the food and the service. We ordered Seafood Paella and the bone in Rib-Eye, the best surf and turf ever. The Prime Steaks are unbelievable. We had an unbelievable waiter Danny, he was "ON" made the experience that much better.

Disappointing Food

By SSVermont |

My wife and I very much enjoy Spanish food and were excited to check out Casa Juancho during our visit to Miami. We were very disappointed. We ordered 5-6 dishes from the tapas menu and not a single dish hit the mark. The tortilla espanolo was flat and tasteless. The calamari would've barely passed muster at TGI Friday's. What was also strange was that the portions were huge- full sized entree sized - even though we ordered from the tapas menu. On the plus side, the service was efficient so were able to get out of there fairly quickly.

Nice Spanish Restaurant

By Korg Report |

If you like Spanish food this place is certainly a good option. Fresh seafood is served in a cozy ambient which resembles an old tavern, or so. Prices range from US$ 28 to 46 per Entree. Wine list should be checked as it is really different from usual. Parking available, as well as Valet service.

Good food, great Paella and Sangria !!!

By Ceciviva |

The restaurant is very cozy, the service is excellent, the food is delicious. Is a little expensive but is worth it !!!

My Casa

By Eddie Proenza |

Casa Juancho is a staple in little Havana. The decor inside is typical Spanish, nice. We had dinner this past Sunday and what a delight it was. We started with several appetizers; grilled octopus, sautéed shrimp with sausages and sausages, all were excellent. Our main dish was the Seafood Paella for four. This is the house specialty and I must say a must if you visit. We also ordered two pitchers of the Sangria which was also good and goes well with the Paella. We finished with a flan and an espresso, also very good. Musicians roam around the restaurant singing and playing guitar for a tip. Parking is valet only ($7). Highly recommend this restaurant.

Christmas party

By Astrid R |

The food is amazing the staff very corteous I love the place the music was very enjoyable . I will recommend for anyone to come and eat at this place

Disappointed

By Me0217 |

Wow, not sure where to start. I guess I will start that is a shame that this amazing restaurant has come down so much in food quality and most significant In ambience . Not sure what’s the purpose of having a sign at the door that they reserve the right to not any one in when not appropriately dressed !!!! I had dinner last Saturday and literally saw men , women in shorts at dinner tune with crocs, flip flops, tennis shoes it was pitiful. No respect for people that like to go out and have a nice dinner having to see that kind of circus around you . This is not an oceanfront cafe . Although I believe management is to be blame for .

Family tradition

By nathalie469 |

It was an experience you can soon not forget. As they say you have to experience it once and then you will be hooked. The place was beautiful and service super nice. The food is a culinary experience. The family ordered the paella that was wonderful, one of the best I have tried. I ordered the Sea bass which was excellent and melted in my mouth. All in all from the various appetizers and main dishes this is a journey you have to experience yourself. Super nice and amazing place.

Father's Day celebration

By King Pupo |

Celebrating Father's Day. The food is always very good, service is good. The restaurant did not have evaporated milk for el cortadito coffee. The apetizers very good and delicious sangria with fruits. The service was very good, we did not have to wait long for the table. We had reservation for father's day. Entertainment was good, nice young adults singing songs of your choice. I love this restaurant, I always visit one a year.

The Spanish experience in Miami

By Luis R B |

We found the place searching in Internet and we were not sure what to expect. The place is excellent as well as the plates, the service and the Spanish atmosphere. You will truely enjoy the paella, the tapas and suggested wine.

Great Atmosphere, excellent food

By Fiona H |

When we arrived early evening it seemed very quiet, but it soon got busy. There were many waiters on hand all very friendly and attentive. Also live music to serenade you should you wish! There was an excellent choice of food on offer, but we chose the steak tartare which was recommended to us by friends. They made a great presentation of it and prepared it at the table making it extra special. A little pricey but was worth it, a good night out. I would recommend it happily to others and would definitely go again.

Unique Spanish atmosphere rich menu

By DonCTfoodie |

I’ve eaten at Casa Juancho multiple times and every time it is tasty, authentic and delivered with a smile. I like the strolling troubadours that sing Spanish folk songs. Good place both for family and for a business dinner

Too expensive !!! The food good, busy like crazy, entertainment not to good, pleasant and good service

By Cary M |

Too expensive for the casual environment.. Food ok!! But expected more for the price . Service good REAL BUSY the entertainment were mariachis and an organ player

Disappointing - does not live up to the hype :-(

By joelk128 |

I love a good paella. A Latino friend kept telling me I have to try the paella marinara at Casa Juancho....he said it is the best in Miami... and another friend of his agreed. so I had to try it. I live about 40 minutes away and my brother is a paraplegic and can’t travel, so I ordered takeout, which they said would take about 40 minutes to prepare. They would not take my order by phone and had to order online. I ordered the paella marinara for 2 (minimum order), setas silvestres (sauteed mushrooms) and ensalada de aguacate (avocado salad). I finished the order and hit "place order" and a message said my "order was not longer available"! So I re-ordered and it now said it would take 59 minutes instead of 40! I figured that there must be a lot of orders and the restaurant must be busy. When I got there, the place was empty, and nobody else was waiting for an order. Nobody greeted me and I finally asked a waiter where to pick up my order. He took me to the bar and told me to have a seat... I looked at my phone and a text said the order was ready 12 minutes before I got there. I still waited another 5 minutes but the waiter was very nice and poured me a glass of water while he packed the order up. As for the food, my brother and I were not impressed. The salad had no dressing and they did not include any. I had to make some. The sauteed mushrooms were ok but a little bitter. The biggest disappointment was the paella marinera. It was a big portion but mostly rice, which was flavorful, moist and very good. There was one small “lobster” tail (probably langostino), ONE mussel and ONE clam for each for each of us! Clams and mussels are relatively cheap… only one per person??? For $39 per person??? Really??? There were also some shrimp, fish and small pieces of calamari. There was no chorizo. The langostino and the fish were very dry but the shrimp were good. They included 2 nice loaves of crispy bread which were really good. My brother said he likes the paella at Padrinos in Hallandale better… and it’s only $27.

A taste of Spain on Calle Ocho

By Rey M |

This restaurant has been a must go for over 30 years. It was my parents favorite place and the location for my mothers 80th birthday party and numerous Mothers day meals. It is a genuine piece of Spain in Miami. From the assortment of ham....Serrano and Iberico served properly....to traditional favorite appetizers like gambas al ajillo.....delicious shrimp in a garlic butter.....there is no lack of flavor and variety. In addition to the traditional paella dishes...which require a wait ....there are seafood and meat favorites like parrillada de mariscos- an assortment of seafood in a garlic sauce. All of this is supported by the finest and most comprehensive list of great Spanish wine from Rioja, Ribeira de Duero and others. The atmosphere is enhanced by the "tuna"...the group of musicians that stroll the restaurant regaling the guests with favorite songs. A special experience which has consistently been excellent for decades.

Out for the day

By Teresa L |

Stopped by for late lunch .I'm in love with this place for there fish croquettes never fails creamy and delicious. Also had their Ox tail out of this world. After so many years they continue to have excellent food. Can count on them to always have an excellent dinner.

Very nice atmosphere and great food!

By Paul Coppens |

I was on a business trip in Miami and my colleagues took me to Casa Juancho. What a great choice. Very extensive menu and it was difficult to choose. I took the Branzino in a salt crust with baked potatoes. Just awesome: so fresh and nothing more natural than this fish with some olive oil on top of it. Accompanied with a great white wine... and my evening was just the best over here!!!

Spanish fine dining in Little Havana

By brianbalk |

This is a gem on the West side of Little Havana. Traditional Spanish cuisine and decor, expertly prepared, with top notch table-side service. Not cheap and TOTALLY worth it. Paiella "for 2" can feed 4 (but you'll want the left-overs). Oxtail was sumptuous. Skip the desserts which were 'only' good.

Excellent food, great atmosphere

By Lourdes001 |

As usual, Casa Juancho was very good. It’s a wonderful place to celebrate with family and friends. The food is delicious and the service exceptional.

Interesting atmosphere good food

By industry person |

The place has been there for over 30 years. Our server has been there over 30 years. Very knowledgeable. There was a lot of servers going back and forth not carrying anything or cleaning the food from our table. Scallops and sea bass were great.

Not the best anymore

By ElPasoMaker |

The paella was not as wonderful as it used to be specially now with so many other Spanish restaurant options you would think they would update themselves a bit more but they haven't. The furniture hasn't been cleaned in 20 years and it looks it. Paella too much tomato not enough seafood flavor and it was almost white rice not yellow.

My Valentine Paella!

By Terry G |

The perfect place for a perfect Paella, and a perfect atmosphere to eat it! We ordered the Seafood Paella which comes for 2 people. You definitely will take some home with you. We ordered for appetizers the Callos a la Madrileña: super delicious, the best we have ever had. The Menu outlines a tremendous amount of dishes. Try to look at it online before going. And the parking is perfect, Valet and $5. Need to go back to try other dishes. Oh, “need” to leave room for desert!!!!

Perfect Spanish Food

By Kaylee2704 |

This restaurant gets very close to serving authentic Spanish food in Miami. The interior is modelled like old fashioned cavern found all over Spain and very homey. We decided to order several tapas, and one main entree to share. First off we decided to order a full jar of Sangria. It was really refreshing and semi-sweet, and we had a enough to drink about five glasses between us two. The first tapas that arrived to our table was the grilled scallops with virgin oil, they were delicious and very tender while lightly seasoned. Next up was one of my personal favorite the octopus with oil and paprika. The octopus were great and just right not to chewy but not hard neither, the only complaint I had was this tapas used to include sliced potatos, but not this time. They provided complimentary loafs of french bread cut in slices which I ate with my tapas. For the main entree we chose the grilled filet of lenguado and avocado salad. Lenguado is a type of grouper that is eaten a lot in both Peru and Spain. The filet fish was amazing, grilled to perfection and the waiter offered to take off the bones which he did with expertly. The salad was good but nothing complicated and they also gave us a side of rice. We couldn't agree on dessert so we decided to order the crema catalana and the flan de coco. The crema catalina is the Spanish version of the creme brulee, which I feel the Spanish is better and creamier. The flan de coco was even better and not too sweet. The food is very good, sometimes the service can be a little slow, but if you appreciate good Spanish food come over and try it.

Cena de Viernes

By YourHelpfulWendy |

Very nice dinner we had we the family at this place located in the hear of the little Havana in Miami. I didn't have an idea how ample that place is inside. With a great menu. Prices are high for my budget, but I was ok with it because my sister paid hahaha. I had a lamb which was cooked to perfection and almost melting in my mouth. The presentation could have been a little better but the taste was superb. My daughter ordered grilled chicken breast and it was really good too. The rest of my family had Paella and they said it was good. Service was fine but I didn't like at all to pay $7.00 for Valet parking when they have a parking space right there for them, so they made us pay.

Authentic Spanish food..best paella in Miami

By MiamiReporter |

This restaurant consistently produces the best authentic Spanish cuisine in Miami. The restaurant is well known for its paella dish I would highly recommend the seafood paella as this is the restaurant house specialty. The wine list is extremely large and very well detailed, the appetizers are delicious as well as the deserts. I would advise any prospective guest that the restaurant is lively, there is a lot of ambient noise, live music. The wine and great food make for exciting group dining.

Good food - expensive with okay service

By TravelBoomerang |

We went to a birthday lunch at Casa Juancho with a large group (20+). The food was good, mostly. The grilled octopus appetizer had a funny aftertaste but everything else was good. The paella and Filet Mignon were very good. The service was very slow - even slower than expected with a large group. The entrees took an hour to be served after we ordered. The bill came to about $75 a person. Much more expensive than expected. Valet parking only - for a fee.

Excellent authentic Spanish

By MiamiReporter |

Excellent authentic Spanish food served in a rustic setting. Casa Juancho is a regular on our dining list. If you are dining here for the first time you have to try the paella - this is the signature dish of Casa Juancho. The tapas are amazing the wine list is enormous and the seafood dishes all are amazing. I have never had a bad dish here. There is live music as strolling minstrels walk through the place in a typical manner done in Spain, some diners find this a little noisy and interruptive however the musicians are very professional and understand if you tell them you are not up for a table side concert. I highly recommend casa juancho.

Definitely recommend this one when in Miami

By Olga R |

Food was amazing! Service was on point! Great ambiance! Overall great place! You have to try the octopus as an appetizer and the parrillada de marisco and paella.

“Sets the Bar High”

By Armando J |

This 34 year old Spanish Restaurant sets the Bar very high when it comes to Spanish (Spain) culinary. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and in the heart of Little Havana, it has become a tourist attraction and must see place when in Miami. You will not go wrong with any dish on the menu, the appetizers are great , order the “croquetas” which are not on the Appetizer menu but a must have! The Octopus Appetizer melts in your mouth and of course it wouldn’t be Spanish without ordering some Prosciutto and Manchego! As for the main dish, any of the four types of Paella would be a winner, perhaps their signature dish but if paella is not your thing, they have an array of dishes to satisfy any taste bud. Leave some wrong for dessert as the “Crema de Catalans” is a must, if you are too full, take it home but don’t leave without it. They have Valet parking for $7.00 and an assortment of international wines presented in a unique and huge book. A must place while in Miami! Enjoy the meal, the ambience, the people and the Little Havana mystique!

The closest to authentic spanish food i've had in Miami thus far. Extremely expensive.

By Outsider13 |

Great atmosphere, the food was authentic and Delicious. I will mention that this place is extremely expensive, i can understand the paella being pricey, but $24 for a pitcher of Sangria is mind blowing.

Very little attention to quality and detail

By JuanC |

A "paella marinera" was impossible to each; the "pulpo a la gallega", the "calamares fritos" and the "gambas al ajillo" were really bad. They could not spoil the ham and the "chorizos and vino" which I guess it would be very difficult to do. Very disappointed. Service was quite poor as well.

Authentic Spanish Experience!

By Greenvilledan |

The menus here is vast! My wife settled on the fillet minion (with mashed potatoes)and I had the sea bass (steamed potatoes and red peppers). We had the best calamari we have ever had eaten. It was lightly fried, but tender (like BUTTER!). The stuffed red peppers were good. We go a pitcher of white sangria which was excellent. Our chocolate mousse was served witha wedge of dark chocolate with a walnut, with walnuts in the mousse. It was outstanding! The service here was excellent! Bring your wallet!

Wonderful and impeccable service

By Ysaac1234 |

This restaurant has provided the Miami Community with excellent service from the meats, seafood and rice dishes. A little part of Spain serving people from all over the world.

Casa juancho

By Becky A |

The restaurant was a mix of vintage and new. Very nice ambiance. The service was very good, however the prices were high for the quality of food. Overall a good experience but overvalued by far.

Music and food

By emmaminds |

The ambiance is fitting for Spanish food. The service is fairly good. The portions are large, so you may want to share.

Still the best authentic Spanish restaurant in the US, in my opinion

By delmd2015 |

Having lived in Spain for some time, I love Spain and Spanish food. This restaurant is very authentic and the food reminds me of the great meals I had in Spain. I have come here for years, in fact every time I come to Miami. I had the "sopa de mariscos", the Estofado. the flan and some sangria. I have never had a bad meal there after probably a few dozen visits there over the years. Excellent food, service and atmosphere

Very poor valet service

By Julio P |

Valet are not trained. Very unwelcome and rude. We were a group to celebrate and we have to leave. We heard about this restaurant before .we will never comeback

Fabulous paella!!

By gr8ful44 |

Ate at this establishment at the recommendation of my brother who rents a condo out for 1 month every winter. The atmosphere is elegant. The entire staff from the valets to the maitre d to the waiters made our evening very enjoyable. We split the seafood paella. Great presentation. It contained several varieties of seafood and the sauce was as tasty as any I have ever eaten. I commented that I could eat this for dinner every day for the rest of my life. We split an order of rice pudding for dessert. I was really too full to eat anything else, but I figured what the heck. It didn't do that much for me. I generally don't order dessert. Plus, I was probably too full to enjoy anything at that point.

Our favorite fine spanish food in Miami

By howards736 |

My cousin introduced us to Casa Juancho about 20 years ago. We have never been disappointed. Our last visit was with three couples. We had the seafood au gratin while our friends shared the Paella. All of us were satisfied with the meals and the service. Only downside were the Mariachi musicians who played so loudly that we couldn't hear each other. The sangria was muy buen.

Fantastic celebration night!

By Papapeyi |

Miami is probably too young to have "established" restaurants, but Casa Juancho is a place where you feel that you are doing something important. We went (in a group of 11) to celebrate my mom's birthday and every single detail ran perfectly: excellent service, great sangria, yummy txistorras, nice tortilla and a more-than-well-done paella. On top of that, an Italian gentleman with his accordion made us have a special musical moment. Great option!

End of the year 2023

By luis |

We spent the end of the year to celebrate the end of 2023, we needed to put decorations, balloons and things that in other years they put in to generate a great atmosphere. This year it was like a normal dinner and if anything we felt more like the New Year. The food good, the service good.

A must visit!

By KVArjune |

The food was absolutely delicious and the wait staff professional. The restaurant is a well visited one. Children are welcome.

Absolutely recommended

By Gastronomo123 |

Absolutely recommended, quality Spanish food, the place is as if you were on a grill in Castile. The meat is not good, the following and all at very reasonable prices knowing that we are in Miami.

Best Spanish Restaurant in Miami

By Lisette M |

This is a great restaurant. The parrillada de mariscos is my favorite but you can not go wrong with anything on the menu. They have musicians who go around playing any music you wish to hear. They offer great appetiers and desserts. They have a bar area for those who dont wish to eat. The wine offerings and drink options are great. This is only one of two restaurants in miami that i can truely say you can not go wrong with. Staff: friendly and attentive Food quality: great Menu options: good variety Audience: family, couples or single Restaurant itself: floors could be a bit cleaner but may be because the restaurant needs some updates. (Would of given an excellent rating if not for this.)

Upscale Cuban & Spanish Food

By JohnTampaBay |

I do not get to Miami too often any more but when I was last in the area I went back to this old favorite and it was as good as I remembered. Food quality is very good and service is as well. Met four old friends here and we all enjoyed our dinner as well as the atmosphere/decor. Valet parking on site also.

Outstanding spanish gastronomy

By 100jota |

Great service, admirable atmosphere, top Spanish gastronomy, efficient valet parking. Miami visitors are strongly advised to enjoy this exceptional restaurant.

A spectacular dinner

An excellent restaurant , we attended oscar that made us spend an incredible night, the restaurant very clean and pleasant , worthy of being recognized and recommended 100%

Best Paella outside Spain

By Andy Bruce |

I’m a frequent and well travelled guy but I can honestly say they have the best Paella I’ve eaten outside Spain. Went for Valentines dinner and we were very satisfied. No rush to get the table for the next diners and the atmosphere was warm and cozy. A little off the main Miami tourist path but well worth a detour. Would avoid the ham croquettes though. Needed more seasoning.

Best Spanish restaurant in Miami

By Franky |

Casa Juancho has the best paella I ever had. Excellent service and attention to detail. They have the best list of liqours and wine.

Best paella and great deserts .

By Wence M |

This place is great , the music , ambiance , service , bar area and the food! The tapas great variety, loved the croquetas de la Abuela , the manchego chorizo and ham mix , the sea bass is great and the steaks are also huge and cooked to perfection. Love the place , been coming here for the last 18 years , my favorite when it comes to authentic Spanish food.

Above average

By Delatorrellc |

Service, food caliber.. was mediocre. I wish I could say the server was on point by he wasn’t:..this was a good experience but just adjust a mediocre experience

Still Best Spanish Restaurant in Miami

By Puerto06 |

I have been going to this restaurant consistently for years and it is still the best Spanish restaurant in Miami. The quality of the food is always excellent which is due to using high quality ingredients in all of their dishes(meat, seafood etc..). It has great service, wine list, and ambiance. At night they have live entertainment. Without a question the best Paella (chicken or seafood) in Miami.

A MUST visit for Spanish food

By Hector D M |

The place is nice and clean, good atmosphere, excellent service, great food, served in good portions with excellent taste and prices according to all of this. We will definitely return anytime soon.

Spanish food

By DULCE A |

I loved my Thermidor Lobster. It was delicious. Nice place. Good service. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great food and amazing staff

By SavesSpiders |

We went for dinner as a party of 4 We made a reservation and when we arrived early, we were seated immediately. The staff was very attentive and made excellent recommendations, explaining menu items and wines on the list -since the rest of my party chose sangria, I had a few glasses of the recommended house wine (see photo) which was a great choice. Three of us shared the seafood paella and it was fantastic! The fourth member of our party ordered a 10 ounce filet and it melted in the mouth! The vegetables were crisp and not over cooked and the jamon iberico and manchego cheese are a must! The deserts were good and their coffee was off the charts! I will definitely return on my next visit to Miami.

HORRIBLE

By Noely0216 |

What a horrible experience! We went there for a casual dinner after work. As we pulled in the valet driver was rude and so we decided to leave ....we should have. But, luck would have it that there was street parking right in front and so we went in. There was a peculiar smell when we walked in ....and yet we stayed ..... We ordered garlic shrimp as an appetizer ...these were chewy, but edible. Disaster struck with my grilled langostinos ...they were spoiled (putrid) the single worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. The staff was apologetic ...but seemed insincere. I wish there was a ZERO star rating ...this place is gross.

Good Spanish food

By Rose C |

Good food, service and atmosphere. Crowded on the weekends. Can accommodate large parties. Try the sangria.

Trite; they don't know what marinara sauce really is

By 30yrtraveler |

Great atmosphere, but it's all a little trite and tired. Guitar serenade is fun. They are a Wine spectator award of excellence, but they allowed us to bring our own wine for a $25 corkage fee. The Seafood Marinara was seafood covered in a pink goo, not a marinara sauce. Therefore, I suspect the seafood paella is essentially the same, just served over precooked rice. Although it seems that's mostly what folks order. Garlic soup is unlike anything we have had in Spain, and is loaded with preservatives. Overall very disappointing.

A great place to unwind and have great food . An old classic in Miami cuisine

By Mor M |

We went to this place craving for tapas and some Spaniard ambience . This is not the first time we visit this restaurant , never posted a review before and after our great and romantic experience there we thought is about time. Ambiance is casual elegante, the place is always busy; the customer service is great, smile and service together with a delicious food make us go back and go back . They have an excellent wine selection . Ask for the tapas first and then for the main course with any of their exquiste selection of hearthy dishes, you will not be disappointed

Excellent evening

By Angela J |

We wanted to introduce our friend to Spanish cuisine and the Tunas as she will travel to Spain for the first time next year. It was a great evening with excellent food and entertainment. The only small detractor was that out food was not exactly hot. Other than that it was excellent!

Very GOOD Spanish Restaurant....

By Jorge V |

Very GOOD Spanish Restaurant in Miami, Florida. Try the Paella, la Sopa de Lentejas y las Croquetas y la Crema Catalana.....ALL are DELICIOUS. The prices are on the very upper side....COSTLY. and You have to pay for Valet Parking which is $5.00. There's NO SELF PARKING. GREAT decoration, presentation with LIVE Music so it has a lot of ambience which is a PLUS.

I grew up in Madrid, where daily meals were similar to the menu at Casa Juancho. Like: Tortilla de Patata Caldo Gallego Gambas al Ajillo Champiñones a la Plancha Chorizos Fritos Paella Pulpo a la Gallega Natillas Flan Torrejas Cafe y Copa In other words, dinner at a typical Spanish family home that is healthy, loving and tasty. At Casa Juancho today, we truly loved the ambiance, the decor, the service, and above all.....THE FOOD. I recommend Casa Juancho in Miami, FL on S.W. 8 St -- Don't miss it !!! TAKE A LOOK IT'S PRETTY TOO!!

Still Popular - But Quality and Service on a Steep Decline

By TheBestOnly_13 |

For Several years, Casa Juancho was a respectable dining venue with good food and music. While still popular, it appears to be mostly for birthdays and anninersaries sung by the TUNA (Faux Spamish University Minstrels) or Lino (the elderly accordion player that is sill worth listening as he goes from table to table. Servive is at best mediocre by waiters (Red Jackets) that seem to have a chip on their shoulder; answer back impolitely when you complain about a delayed order or bad food. Thebusboys (Green Jackets) mostly elderly gentlemen seemed to be better educated in restaurant service and decorum than the waiters. In respect to the food,it seems to me the kitchen is run by a cook instead of a judicious Executive Chef running the operation. We were a party of four couples and nothing was served simultaneously. When orders arrived, they were either cold, undercooked, overcooked, bland and horribly plated. The Extra Virgib Olive oil was almost transparent and tasteless. I would not be surprised if they use a sunflower blend to cut costs. The Grilled Shrimps appetizer was the only acceptable dish. We all decided never again to visit the premises as there are abundant, better and less expensive "Spanish" restaurants all over Miami.

Very good food... staff needs to be more polite

By Littlefran |

We webt there on a Tuesday, we didnt make a reservation but it got full at some point. The place is nicely decorated, the atmosphere is great. When we artived the hostess didnt greet us she was distracted, had never seen that, there was this gentleman and he led us to our table, in terms of courtesy he was OK. The place was freezing, so remember to take a jacket. They gave us warm bread and delicious butter. We ordered different dishes, paella was good but not great, in my opinion. There is one dish cola de buey or sth it was DELICIOUS!!¡ Typical homemade. We also ordered chicken which was great according to my aunt. The dessert(flan) was fine not fantastic. The sangria was DELICIOUS as well. A man approached the tables and sang and played the achordeon... beautiful¡¡¡¡ super nice he made the atmosphere even more beautiful. Hope it helps

Excellent Miami Spanish 🇪🇸 Restaurant

By Florida Traveler |

This is one of the best Spanish restaurants in Miami. Fantastic food is served here. For appetizers the hand carved acorn fed 100% Iberian ham is phenomenal. The assortment of delicious cheeses is not to be missed. For entrees the black grouper filet, paella marinera, lobster Thermador and Myer natural Angus bone-in Ribeye are outstanding. For desert the custard flambeed or churros with chocolate dipping sauce are delicious. Service is professional. Casa Juancho has a relaxed upscale ambiance.

Misleading waiter practice, shame to our community

By Anaeliz T |

I was very disappointed by my recent experience at this restaurant. I handed the waiter $500, expecting to receive my change so that I could personally decide on the tip. Instead, he kept more than a 25% tip without my consent and only returned $15 in change. When I asked about it, he offered an unconvincing explanation, claiming he had set aside another bill for the tip — which was not true. I had invited my family for a pleasant meal and didn’t want to create an uncomfortable situation, but this conduct was both unprofessional and disrespectful. It is unfortunate that a restaurant with so many years of service would allow such misleading behavior. The waiter appeared to be a man in his fifties, with braces and a Spanish accent. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously. Customers deserve transparency and integrity, not deceptive practice.

Great food. Horrible service but would go back

By Sameh e |

We just spent 5 nights in Miami. I was adamant tofu d a restaurant that makes a great Paella. After vetting a few options we decided to give this one a try. As other reviewers said, service was bad. The waiter treated us like we are annoyance. I felt like I need to apologize every time I asked for something or ordered something, like " I know we are bothering you but would you please please bring us another glass of wine" He'd come after dinner and instead of mentioning dessert or check, he'd stand there and I had to break the silence by asking " do you have dessert menu?" And he would actually bother himself enough to bring it to us, what a great guy Anyway, food was amazing, seafood is fresh and the Paella was unbelievable. So yes I'd go back for the food but I'd try other waiters just in. Awe I get a good one.

Family of Six

This is a very traditional Spanish restaurant in Miami. The food is really good, we did tried the Cod, chicken and a paella and it was pretty good. The desserts were also delicious. Our servers were helpful and pleasant. Great place. The offer parking.

Good but not great!

By Carmen W. |

It is a decent Spanish restaurant, but not great. It has a nice ambience, but the food could be better.

Excellent Paella

By Ney1963 |

Made a reservation as I have heard so many good things from my friends. This place was packed. We loved the rustic atmosphere though thought it was a bit pricey. Sangria was very good,,,I ordered chicken paella and they charged me the same price as the seafood. it doesn’t NOT state on the menu that you must order a minimum of two. I must say my paella was loaded with chicken beef and chorizo and it was exceptional! My husband ordered salmon and it was ok. The caldo gallego was good as well as the fried calamari. The almond tart was tasty as the cream brûlée! The service was rushed and slow as they were slammed however, I definitely would return.

Great Restaurant

By Ena007 V |

We visited this restaurant for my dad's birthday. We all loved the food, sangria and service. A bit pricey but well worth it.

Old school Spanish restaurant

By SDFUN |

This is an old school Spanish style restaurant. Serrano ham, Paella, large steaks. Service is formal. The staff wears customes. Trubidors walk around and sing. This is a ok dinner. I Dinner will probably run $75 per person plus alcohol.

Old Faithful in Spanish cuisine !

By Julio G |

Return to this restaurant after many years away from Miami. the quality of products & the . service were still the best of any Spanish restaurant in Miami. We had the octopus, merluza, Sea bass and filet mignon as entrees they were exquisite, prepared with culinary precision. The only appetizer we didn't like was the morcilla, it was bland in taste. We will return soon!!

Seating and valet

By Steve Kurtz |

The food and service are excellent. Also the wine list. We had two concerns. Every chair in the restaurant is the same, and, while they are traditional and attractive, they are not comfortable. Very straight back that uncomfortably digs into your middle back. The second is tha they have their own parking lot but do not let you know that it costs $10 to get out. Street parking is available for a couple of $. We will go back anyway, but we will wear thick jackets and park on the street.

Spanish delight in little Havana

By Stephen w |

Beautiful meal in a beautiful setting. Had the croquettes and a seafood paella w a shared dessert. Plenty of delicious food. Versailles always gets top ratings in Little Havana but for a little extra I'd pick casa Juancho. Note, most guests were nicely dressed. Slacks and shirts for guys and dresses and skirts for women would not be out of place. Less touristy than most places we've dined in Miami Great service from our waiter Miguel and the in house troubadors were actually entertaining and not annoying like most of the places where they sing at your table. For a taste of Spain, visit Casa Juancho.

Country goes to 8th Street

By Debora M |

Took some North Florida folks to Miami for real Spanish food! The iberico Jamon and manchego cheese was excellent paired with a Tempranillo Torres red. It was great! Steak, sea bass, lamb shank and ribeye were all very good! Split the chocolate mousse and coconut flan desserts and Cuban coffees/cafe con leches to finish.

great

Went for a late lunch yesterday and were pleased with the quality of food and service. We had a sampler of 4 tapas and a serving of seafood paella.

Awesome atmosphere within a super nice Bohemia wt singer Angelito at the bar area. Food and service was excellent.

Event at Casa Juancho

By davidromana |

Way before I became vegetarian this place was one of my favorites, live music, excellent service, food and ambiance. I enjoyed grilled vegetables and Sangria, I revisit my memoirs and the nice moments I lived there, I am back definitely.

Business Meeting

By nibaldom2015 |

We have meetings here from time to time and the service here is always on point. They have a back room that is isolated which is great for meetings, the only improvement it needs is to improve the Audio. As for the food, it’s excellent, their Paella is delicious and their other dishes were also very good. Overall, this is an iconic restaurant in Miami. Happy Dining

Terrible service dinner to celebrate or wedding anniversary!!!

By Josephine Eloise |

I'm very annoyed about the service at Casa Juancho Saturday, May 1st, 2021. To make it even worse we had to wait half an hour for our food, no one stop by our table to apologize that the food was late. The waiter did not stop by our table often to check on us or to filled the cup with water when needed. The service was terrible, I understand it was Saturday night and it was a busy night I get it, but worst service I have ever experienced at Casa Juancho. Awful service from start to finish, when we ask the waiter for the check he came with the credit card machine about 15 minutes later, we left him a 18% tip that later I regret. The waiter's name is Ricardo G. He did not even thank us for the tip or thank us for anything after I sign the credit card bill. We should not have left him anything. I will probably call my credit card company and for sure I will call the restaurant today.

Watch out for massive events that hinder good service

By Ángela C |

It is still an excellent restaurant of Spanish food. However when I was there was a wedding or something. There was too much noise. They sat me at the bar. The Iberian acorn ham 5J was good because the product is magnificent, but they cut it hastily and the cut is going to thicker than desirable. The salted sea bass was also good, but I was not brought silverware and by the time they arrived it had cooled quite a bit. I had to insist that she be flambéed. Service failures were due to overloading from the wedding. They should close the restaurant for the wedding and not give dinner to regulars.

Girls luncheon

By Dyerrd |

A touch of Spain in Little Havana. Excellent service, great ambiance made for a delightful afternoon with good friends The bucarones were delicious and mouthwatering, the stuffed peppers with cod mouse was great. With a jug of sangria, the paella and oxtail were even better than I expected. Well worth the trip from Fort Lauderdale.

True Spanish Cuisine

By Sobreviviente |

Excellent service, superb cuisine , good price for the kind of food. The Paella is excellent ! The meat is prime . Desserts are good but not in accordance with the food. Excellent Sangria !

Fun Spanish place

By sham k |

Great place for large groups. We were 12. The food was great, Shrimp in oil and Garlic was nice and hot, Paella Valencia was good too. Dover sole in a Spanish restaurant? Yes. that was good too. The Mariachi singers were an added bonus.

Best Paella in Miami

By LBBalHarbour |

This restaurant is a good time. Great menu, drinks and service. The paella is freshly made to order, worth the wait, for sure.

Very disappointed

By Mariana W |

I have never been in a place as noisy as this!! We were 6 people at the table and it was impossible to communicate. , then the musicians came to our table play 1 song and after giving them 10$ they complained that it didn’t even was enough to buy a beer. We ordered 4 Dover sol , they were cold because it was just 1 person open and served them, very unprofessional

Mid-range, very expensive

By Gulliver S |

A classic Spanish restaurant. The food is fine, good middle class. Standard menu as with any Spaniard, without any creativity. The wine selection fine. Service and Mood very nice, unfortunately again a music group that goes from table to table and makes noise. Prices are MUCH too high for THIS constellation even in the US environment!

A true classic

By Gerardo P |

For over 30 years in the middle of Little Havana, the wife and I are good for about two dinners per year. With so many authentic Spanish restaurants in Miami this gem never disappoints. Love the paella and imported hams. Great spot for after work drinks and tapas too.

what a great experience

By Carlos G |

i usually do not go to CALLE OCHO but is is an up and coming area. decided to go to Casa Juancho for meal. what a great meal!!

Exceptional

By Jeniffer S |

An excellent place, its service, the quality and freshness of the food, the attention, the house specialty, the special wine that you only find there, if sangria, its tapas and its rice, really everything is incredible

Never thought I could have great spanish food in Miami

By jperezi |

A great surprise in Miami. Tapas and wine are a must, and of course, Paella is right up there. Las Gambas al Ajillo are superb. You have to try sitting at the bar for dinner, its a great experience

Disappointing Paella

By Bernard M |

The four of us went at 2 p.m. on a Sunday to this Spanish restaurant. The interior was decorated like an old style Spanish hacienda. On the right, near the entrance, were three hams that could be sliced to order. Impressive. The staff were dressed in costumes and three troubadours worked their music in different parts of the restaurant with their Spanish songs. Overall, a positive initial opinion of what was to come. The reason we came was to get paella, a Spanish rice dish laced with seafood and chicken. We had had it years earlier in this neighborhood and longed to get it again, as we only visit Miami very rarely. It was expensive, $32 a person with a minimum order of 2 people, so basically $64. The other couple ordered a large salad and peppers stuffed with cod, and white asparagus. I have debated how to evaluate this restaurant, changing my mind from 3 stars to 2 finally. Ultimately, it is based on the paella. With great hopes I watched the waiter dish out plates for my wife and myself. The rice did not pop with flavor as I expected. It was a step above bland. The chicken cut was unrecognizable, but I am guessing it was a thigh cut sideways into chunks. There was a mussel and a clam as well as a small lobster tail which I saved for last to top off the meal. Alas, the chicken was tough as if old and the lobster tail had to be previously frozen, for it was hard, dry and tasteless. Overall, the paella was okay, not bad but certainly not great as I had hoped. My friend said her asparagus tasted like it had been canned and she thought the peppers were not fresh. She was disappointed in the overall flavor. Looking at the cost/benefit, for $64 I expected perfection. Instead I got mediocrity and for this reason downgraded my rating from 3 to 2. Coupled with my friend's evaluation and my wife's, two seems fair. Had the cost been lower, maybe a three would be warranted. Side Note: I like to have conversation in a restaurant. When the troubadours settled into our area for 4 songs, conversation had to cease. Some people like the singing, and I do to for one song. I am not using this in my evaluation since this is such a personal issue. But then one of them came around with hat in hand for tips. My reaction was a classy appearing restaurant such as this should be paying them well, not using low level extortion on its guests. You feel you have to give something. Don't force the guests to cough up money for music they may not want.

Hidden Gem

By Mickey988 |

I go to Miami almost twice a year and until recently had never even heard of this restaurant. I don't know how I missed it, but I won't make that mistake again. It was excellent Spanish food. I love paella and am always on a search for the "best". This did not disappoint. The food was excellent and the service was good. I loved that they had entertainment that sang to the tables while they ate. It wasn't crowded and we had no problems getting and being seated.

Upscale Spanish from Spain

By Dorita1965 |

if you have never had authentic food from Spain this is the place. Great ambiance, the portions are big and expensive.

Casa Juancho Worst Place To Eat

By willchill601 |

if you are ready to have the worst food in the worst area in Miami, Then prepare yourself for the most unsatisfying time of your life if you ever even think of going to this restaurant! I recommend you rather go to Chills then to eat this horrible food. They claim to be luxury but anything but," .. Food is horrible ! Service is the most horrible slow service I have ever seen.".. Way Over Priced for what they call a " Luxury" Spain place not even close to luxury.".. Save your money people and eat somewhere else.".. Will never consider this horrible haunted miserable place again bad choice."..

Authentic Spanish Cuisine

By Christopher H |

Both my wife and I loved the atmosphere, food and service. Just an all-around great experience and we look forward to going back when we are in Miami again. They had a extensive selection of dishes. We had a few appetizers and seafood paella for two. Everything was well done and delicious, including the sangria which was the best I've ever had. The staff were very attentive and the strolling trio who sang at tableside were very good. Can't wait to go back!

Experience depends highly on what you est

By ap |

Your experience in Casa Juancho depends on what you order. The Spanish tortilla, fish croquettes, and fried calamari are excellent. The shrimp appetizers are salty and full of garlic. Main dish paellas are great, fish are good too. Seafood casserole is more like a tomato paste with hot sauce. For desserts arroz con leche. Make sure you have time, takes long and music is loud.

Perfect Evening!

By riversidesherry |

Special big birthday for hubby and we chose this fabulous restaurant based on it's excellent reviews! We were not disappointed! Service was outstanding and waiters came and sang happy birthday and gave us special attention all night. Food was yummy! Music was a nice touch. Definitely recommend this restaurant - it's a don't miss if you are in Little Havana.

Never coming back

By ljcarchit |

I do not recommend this place! From the very start, they force you to valet the car even though all of the parking spaces were empty and right by entrance. I even offered to park my car myself and give them the keys. I do not like letting strangers drive my car! I never valet park. When I mentioned it inside, they said that the valet service is mandatory! This alone is reason enough for my family and I never coming back. The prices are extremely expensive!! The food is NOT worth the price!

Horrible

By mashalikesfood |

We went all the way to casa juancho because we were excited for an authentic cuisine. We were so disappointed to the point we had enough. Our water tasted like blood first of all. Our appetizers of cheese reeked of feet. Our main course was a dry nasty chicken with no sides. I could have made this at home. My friends lamb tasted like the lamb had a disease or something. My other friend hated her meal as well. Aside from the food being disgusting the service was even worse. When we told the server we didn’t like our food he shrugged his shoulders and didn’t give a crap. He also never approached us and when he did he looked miserable. I don’t know how there’s good reviews here.

Above average

By Delatorrellc |

Service, food caliber.. was mediocre. I wish I could say the server was on point but he wasn’t:..this was a mediocre experience.

Show and top fresh food

By VeroargentaMiami |

During the weekends is very fun to go. It has a bar with a band, dancers around the tables that makes it very fun. Ideal for birthdays, or family gather since is a little bit loud and crouded. Prices are high but it worth every penny. Parking they charge 7 dolars. Food is exquisit !!! We went two times and tasted jamon de jabugo, boquerones, pulpo a la gallega, cordero y paella de mariscos spanish wines by the glass and delicious deserts ! If u like to eat fresh and very tasty it worth every penny.

No what I expected

By Rismary C |

This is the first time I visit this restaurant, and according to my experience I can say that the service is not good. From the moment I called the restaurant to make a reservation, the girl who answered the phone was not pleasant at all. Upon arrival we were greeted by a not pleasant girl who asked us to wait, a minutes later a man in a suit, took us to our table, I do not know the tone of his voice, because he did not say any word. From this point until we left, we had like three waiters, not to nice either. We ate tapas and they were not bad. The music (live) was not Spanish music, we listen to boleros, Mexican music but nothing Spanish. I do not plan to return.

Que Bueno

By Jim R |

First time after a number of recommendations. Sorry we didn't follow up sooner. Service couldn't have been better--very attentive. Food was incredible, Would have loved to have been able to afford the gusanos ($95/portion) the dinner was memorable. Music accompanying dinner was a treat. Excellent wine selection and the maitre d' was very helpful.

Spain in Miami

By SANDRA C |

I loved the atmosphere, the delicious food, highly recommended. A good place to feel in Spain. Excellent service.

Nothing special, there are better Spanish restaurants in Miami!

By Yisbel C |

First things first: they have their own parking lot but you have to pay $10.00 to “valet” to park , ridiculous. The place is nicely decorated and service was good BUT: We’ve been in Spain and love spanish cuisine, since then we’ve been in different spanish restaurants in Miami, this was nothing special, food was ok but not great. Bill was crazy expensive compared to other restaurants we’ve eaten dinner for half and food is way better for example Sancho. I won’t be coming back.

Excellent Spanish restaurant

By troubadour |

Had dinner with 20 guests and ordered paella and other Spanish dishes and tapas, the food was superb and the service great. Good selection of wines

The best Spanish Restaurant in Miami I know

By Bruselense |

I had dinner at Casa Juancho in Miami and I liked it. I have been in different Spanish restaurants in Miami and I have to say that for me, this is the best one. We ordered octopus “a la galleta” and tortilla de patata as appetizer : they were both juicy and perfectly cooked. As main dishes we had bacalao a la vizcaína, rabo de toro, and other dishes with fish. Excellent! The restaurant is a pice of Madrid in Miami, Edy cozy atmosphere, excellent service and very nice live music ( La Tuna). As a Spaniard from Madrid, if you are in Miami and want to have a real Spanish night in Miami, I recommend Casa Juancho. Reasonable price for the quality offered.

Valentine's Lunch

By Bebetina |

We decide to celebrate Valentine's Day with this Restaurant. Honestly I have to say the Seafood Paella was completely delicious, flavor, ingredients, everything ... We enjoyed it! The creme brulee was not as I expected and the Waiter was not enough kind with us. I put Three points for the Paella , but I think the service needs to improve!

Delicious Seabass

By Manela G |

I really enjoyed having dinner at this place. My first choice was the Sea bass (big chunk of it)! I ordered a side of rice with it ;) The atmosphere is really nice, and the service is excellent. They have so many waiters you'll never go too long with an empty glass of water.

Very good service and food

By Ileana D |

The service and food was very good like always. I had the Dorado a la Sal which is Gilthead sea bream baked to perfection in a crust of sea salt it was excellent. The others had Paella Valenciana which is Spain's famous paella of seafood and chicken I was told it was delicious. I recommend this restaurant to anyone wants good Spanish food. Enjoy.

Spanish Delight

By Tyra W |

An excellent find with some awesome decor and ambiance. The service were well attired in traditional wear. They were all pleasant and professional, and we thought the service was great. Don't be in a hurry! Relax and enjoy the experience. I had shrimp's augrautin with asparagus grilled on the side. My friend ordered the filet mignon in brown wild mushroom sauce, and grilled green beans. Both dishes were fabulous.I couldn't even finish mine. We topped it off with some flan, a caprarina, and chocolate mousse...pretty much to die for!! Go and enjoy, we loved it.

Good Tapas ...but Cold Lobster Fraud.

By joseLuis_a_d |

I have been several times in this seafood Casa Juancho Rest in Miami,FL .....I think the first time in the 90's ........I always ordered tapas ( Spanish appetizers ). This time in addition to the tapas, I went for a suggestive "Langosta Fría Dos Salsas" ( Chilled whole 2 lb. Florida lobster served with two sauces ). -- What a surprise when I realized that the lobster meat quantity was not those 2 lb. they wrote on the printed Menu - Shellfish section-. Most of the entree was a salad on the lobster shell they use to serve the dish. Next day I wrote to the Rest in order to get their feedback but nobody answered my concern. It means the Rest management does not care about what customers claim......which in my case means I will not ever order that entree "Chilled whole 2 lb. Florida lobster served with two sauces" ...that entree was fraud.

Birthday lunch

Got the ox tails they were perfect, Napoleon for dessert and it tasted delicious. If you get the Paella there is a 40 minute wait, at least there was when I came in.

Excellent Paella, Best Ever!

By Nazira1977 |

We have waited over 3 hours to be seated (party of 19...on Valentines Day), However the Food was Excellent! Loved the Sangria as well. They had a nice small band playing and people dancing. Really nice!

Wonderful seafood, Spanish style

By Keith C |

Classic (retro) ambiance. Aging waiters. Wandering musicians. Old school sangria. But wonderful grilled seafood and paella.

Expected better!

By Tetyana K |

We ventured with my boyfriend to Little Havana last minute. Based on reviews, Casa Juancho seemed fantastic. I appreciated the set up of the restaurant on photos. When we went inside, the place was very dim. The staff was nice but not as attentive as I would have liked. The accordion player really saved the night - he stopped by our table and played music "on demand." We ordered the Carabineros a la Plancha (Grilled Spanish colossal red shrimp) - although weren't as colossal as in Nice, France that we've seen. Mostly, the sauce wasn't very tasty - it was an olive oil mix but it smelled fishy. I was disappointed that we paid $60 for this appetizer. For the main course, we shared the seafood paella. The seafood was fresh and the sauce had a nice consistency - not too salty. I was happy with a Chilean red wine selection as well.

Casa Juancho - A Spanish Delight

By osmani c |

This spot is a very great experience, and the food is amazing. The attention received is great from everyone. It is a very beautiful place, and the elegance is extraordinary. It is Spanish’s food, which really adds to the experience.

Great Food, Excellent Service and Wonderful Ambience

By hugoa834 |

This is a jewel of a Spanish enclave at the heart of the Calle Ocho neighborhood. I have been here before and always have a great experience. My favorite dish is the traditional Seafood Paella. The fried calamari is great and the Serrano ham is delicious and available in several grades. The crema catalana is a favorite dessert. The service is exceptional, warm and friendly.

Bad "bacalao a la parrilla" ( brassed cod)

By pepa185 |

I went with some friends to have dinner to Casa Juancho. I am from Spain and they invited me to enjoy Spanish food. The other three people had beef and they said that tasted very good. I asked for the bacalao a la parrilla and it was not good. The first bite looked like fiber, no taste at all and I kept chewing and did not became eatable. I felt bad because I was invited and I kept eating but it was the same. My mistake was not to call the waiter and complained because I told him before we paid and he brought somebody else, the owner or somebody in charge. I complained to him and he said that it was imposible because the cod came from Sweden? And that was excellent. I told him that I was from Spain and that I have eaten cod all my life and that didn't tasted like this. He then offered some desserts on the house but nobody wanted any so I suggested a discount. He went away and didn't discount a penny. This place is very expensive to have that such a bad quality of cod. Pepa

Family fun and food Spanish style

By Tim W |

Case Juancho is quite something: lively, bustling and full of life. Waiters dodge musicians and tightly packed tables bringing delicious fare to locals, regulars and visitors alike. It feels like you have been transported to Spain and even another era. We were a large party of seven and arrived at 9pm without a reservation. After a short wait we were brought to our table, quickly ordered and started to be serenaded first by an accordion player and then guitarists and singers. As our tapas starters of chorizo, Serrano ham, seafood and manchego arrived, we didn't feel oppressed by the music as can be the case in tourist traps but rather it lapped our table and then moved on. Our mains were Chilean sea bass, ox tails, gratinee prawns and ample paella - all of which was enjoyed and shared. If we had a small complaint it was that the fish in the paella was a little overcooked, which was perhaps unsurprising at the end of the evening. A lively and highly enjoyable evening much to be recommended.

Saturday visit

By Ronald |

Impeccable establishment. I dont ever give a rating on 5 stars. This restaurant is a must try. Decor from Spain is as my opening word says.. impeccable. Wow.. The service is very good. Staff attire is of those from spain. There is so much to say about this place but i will be giving it all away. Once valet takes your vehicle and you enter thru the door. Its a WOW effect. So far this is my impression. Food has not been served yet.. i will be right back with that revue. What an incredible lunch. From the fillet mignon to the seafood plate. ,

Tasteless

By Culture268746 |

I always experienced a taste of Spain every time I went to this restaurant. Ever since the tourism wet up in Little Havana, the quality of ingredients suffered (for no reason at all) they charge a pretty penny for the food. I had the Fabada (white bean soup) and it was tasteless it seems they make a broth and add it to different types of dishes, my wife had gambas al ajiiio (shrimps in a garlic sauce) and it was shameful the size of the shrimps they looked like the ones in a cheap chinese fried rice. For those of you that don't know the real taste of Spain try it some where else and experience it. Raul. fried ric

A Taste of Spain in Little Havana

By Chancy K |

We loved every minute in this classic Spanish restaurant in the heart of Little Havana on "Calle Ocho." The spicy tapas and hearty paella took us right back to Spain, and strolling musicians completed the experience. The decor is beautiful and comfortable, and the wait staff is experienced and attentive without being pesky. This is Spanish food, not Cuban or Latin American, so don't expect the heavy spices, but the freshness and flavor are wonderful.

Beautiful restaurant, real spanish food, wonderful guital or violin entertaiment

We visited this restarant 4 times and its always the best, we order seafood paella for two, and lobster thermidor, and shrimp in garlic with garlic sauce a bottle of white whine for two couples, it was delicious.

When it comes to Spanish, I prefer Tapas

This is more of a traditional Spanish restaurant. It has valet parking at a very reasonable price. The place is big and the service is good. Seating is comfortable in the sense that we didn't feel that other tables were squished into our space. The food is not my style. The Paella was not more than just normal. However, the seafood casserole that I had was pretty good. The thing is that this type of menu doesn't lend itself to sharing at the table. There was a music group that went from table to table singing 2 or 3 songs at each table. Their music was okay but what really surprised us was that, when they finished the songs at our table, they asked for a tip. Even though it was totally unexpected and it made us feel somewhat uncomfortable, we gave them 20 bucks. To sum up the experience, overall value vs. price isn't at a very good ratio.

Great Restaurant!!!

It's a really nice Restaurant!!!💕💕 Great Service and really authentic food. I feel like it’s easily underestimated from the old rustikal architecture (which is really pretty too), but wait until you’re inside!!! 🤩We had the Paella (for 2) with the Maine Lobster. It was HUGE and sooooo good and the Cheesecake with almond ice cream was decadent and absolute bomb!!! Overall so great and really pretty😍💕

Everything Great - Spanish Restaurant

By The Spanglish Guy |

Located on the famous 8th street in little Havana, it's a large restaurant with an ample menu even during Covid-19 restrictions and shortages. Menu have all kind of proteins, of different sizes such tapas, appetizers and entrée dishes (prices vary depending on the size). All dishes ordered were very good. Good restroom, ample valet parking service.

A true old school gem!

We had a memorable birthday celebration at Casa Juancho with the family. First, the valet staff aims to please, especially with the generous reception given by Jose and Shanita. Then on to Jose Blanco, who I believe if the General Mgr. who is dressed in a tuxedo and takes care of all of your wishes and needs quickly. Daniel our waiter was excellent with good service. The seafood paella is a highlight for sure with great flavor. We enjoyed the live music and they came over to sing me the spanish version of Happy Birthday. Thanks for the memories.

JUST BECAUSE!!!

My husband and I went to Casa Juancho yesterday with two good friends. I have to say we were all very happy with our choice. We decided to order five different kinds of Tapas instead of ordering main courses and we loved everything. The place was full with and everybody seamed to be having a great time. The service was absolutely fantastic every step all the way. I will recommend this restaurant to anybody looking for good Spanish cuisin, great service and ambiance.

Best Paella!!

By Thomas B |

We decided to have dinner at Casa Juancho after a lot of review reading , which most of them were on the negative side. We are glad we had dinner there after being a little apprehensive at first. The appetizers were delicious ( Pulpo a la Plancha & Pimientos de Piquillo) the soups outstanding (Caldo Gallego & Fabada) but the entree ( Paella Marinera) was the best We’ve ever had. Service was very professional and attentive when we needed him. THANKS FOR A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!!!

Great Spanish cuisine

What a wonderful meal!

We went there because I wanted to try Iberian ham. The menu has 6 selections and I was unsure what to try. I asked the manager for his recommendation. Like a good sommelier, he did not try to steer me to the most expensive. Instead, we brought me a sample of the 2 best. After sampling, I chose the Jamon de Bellota (see pic). This was outstanding and well worth the money. My wife had the Bronzino baked in sea salt ( see pic) and it was terrific. I had the Langostinos a la Plancha which was fabulous. The service was splendid. A very excellent experience.

A taste of Spain! Olé!

This is an upscale restaurant reminiscent of Spain. The smells, music and staff makes you feel like you have traveled far and long enjoying the very essence of Spain! The food is indescribable. So delicious that I cannot put into words. The customer care and attention is truly one of a kind as well. This is a unique place that you simply want to visit as often as you can afford to! Que delicia!

We arrived and we were promptly greeted although we had no reservation. The ambiance was great! The food was very tasty. We ordered the grouper croqueta & fried calamari for appetizer. We ordered mojitos & sangria. The sangria was to die for! Dinner was a Chilean sea bass & the duck! All excellent!

The best Spanish gourmet experience in Miami

By CancunVoyager |

Casa Juancho has many years of history however I was surprised to arrive and it was at fulll capacity. Once at our table the staff helpfully offered to drink, and the menu is magnificant. The specialty is the paellas and there are from rabbit, vegetarian, seafood and fish. A group of tradictional spanish mucisians softens the atmosphere from table to table and is an extraordinary experience. We left very satisfied

Very Nice Restaurant...

The food is about as authentic as you will get in the Miami area and is definitely better than any other Spanish restaurant. For starters we had the calamari. Well seasoned and breaded lightly. I sure could have used a spicy marinara sauce with them, but it came plain. Maybe it’s just me. We had the seafood paella and found it quite tasty. The seafood was abundant and tender. Although I thought it could use a bit more azafrán. The Sangria was well made with just the right amount of quality fruit. The service was good and prompt. No complaints here. Overall, I would come here again.

As always, Excellent !!

One of my top go-to restaurants in Miami. Never had a bad meal here. The look of the restaurant, the attentive service, generally outstanding food, and an ample wine list consistently make this one of my favorites. We started with the superb small red peppers stuffed with goat cheese, a classic! Then several people had the bean soup, which was excellent according to them. Main courses of merluza fish, red snapper, and filet mignon were all spot on. And accompanied by the strolling musicians and a nice bottle of Ribera del Duero, all had a fantastic evening. Thanks again, Casa Juancho !!

Oldie but Goodie

Casa Juancho is an institution in Miami. It’s been around for years and still going strong. This restaurant will take you back in time. The waiters here are experienced, you will get amazing service. When you walk in they have the Spanish hams that you can see them slice for your order. The Spanish Cuisine is as authentic as in Spain. If you really want a great Paella(Seafood w/Spanish Rice) they are made to order. The ambiance inside the restaurant makes you feel like in a tavern in Spain. There is a reason the locals come here for Spanish cuisine. There is parking, so you don’t have to worry where you are going to leave your car. You will enjoy this institution. Happy Dining
