Casa Playa Las Vegas

By Daphne Lc |

We went to Casa Playa at the Wynn for our birthdays and it was such a cute place to celebrate. The restaurant was packed and definitely on the louder side, but the ambiance was fun, vibrant and perfect for a special night out. The food was great and the seafood tower was absolutely delicious. The whole experience felt festive and memorable. I would happily go back on my next trip to Vegas.

As good as it gets!

This is a very sophisticated excellent restaurant. The entrees, mixed drinks, wine selection….all notable. Best of all is the decor!!!!

Great food!

Great food, ambience and excellent service. Experience is great, busy, a little load and expensive but would go back again!

Service great and there is where it stopped.

We dined at Casa Playa this past weekend and left very disappointed. Service staff get 5 stars, menu and food we ordered 1 star. You have the hardest part in todays environment down perfect ( the service staff). Please work on the menu and kitchen or go back to Andrea’s !

Beautiful restaurant, great service

The ambiance at this restaurant is absolutely incredible. The design is unlike anything I have ever seen. Beautfiul cocktails and tableside salsa and guacamole. The food was good but not amazing. I would definitely come back for drinks and appetizers

Great Experience, Service

By Gailyn63 |

First, a shout-out to Daniel, our server. He took care of 11 of us, seated next to one another. Two were going to the Eagles show, so he made sure they were served and finished in time to get there on time. Most of us had the branzino, which was excellent. Order the green rice to go with. The obsidian margarita, with cucumber, was superb.

Beautiful restaurant

The drinks rich but lack punch 🤜 that hit well !!! Overall all very well and The environment with DJ because it is Vegas you wanted !!???

Price on menu did not match that on check ?

By GezenBey |

Seemed a very popular place so we tried it out . Definitely not your standard Mexican restaurant and credit to them they don’t claim to be . We had Cevishe and Guacamole for appetiser and small Sea food platter plus cucumber salad for main . Our server who was ran of his feet seemed to suggest everything was his favourite. Food was nice atmosphere OK and decibels very high. What upset me was the prices on the menu did not match those on the check Example small Sea food platter was $125 on the menu but on the check $150 all other orders were also on the upper side on the check . When I pointed this out to server he brought me a menu with the prices that matched the check . I’m just going to presume my menu had the old prices attached. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go here again. If at Wynn you must go to Wing Lei for superior food and excellent service.

Great Mexican food is a nice environment

Excellent food! Excellent Staff We were lucky to get seata at the “Tequilla Bar” in the back of The restaurant. They had a long wait and the bar was open seating. We had never been there before and we decided to give it a try. We were very pleased with our decision! The bartender , Daniel, took our order and he was great! Very helpful and very friendly. We had the Shrimp Diablo and the beef Short Ribs. Daniel had recommended both, and they were delicious ! The four shrimp were HUGE and tasty. The short ribs were very tender and were seasoned perfectly! Kudos to Daniel! While it’s not cheap, the atmosphere and the quality of food was well worth it. We look forward to returning soon! PS. To management, give Daniel a raise. He earned it!

Don’t go if you have food allergies or intolerances.

By Wandering Foodie |

The food is OK. Not bad but not great. If on the other hand you have a food allergy, they tell you they will cater for you. However, when they get it wrong, they make a show of investigating and then tell you that it’s your fault and your own carelessness was the cause rather than their negligence. They even find it too hard to apologize! If you challenge their narrative by saying why would I sabotage myself and ruin my own evening, they cut the conversation short and hang up on you!! Avoid like the plague if you have any kind of food intolerance or allergy.

A new favorite restaurant

By DDjaha |

We had the most wonderful dinner at Casa Playa last night. From our first moment with the hosts through a visit at the end from the manager, the experience was first rate. Our server, Susan, was such a pleasure. She knew the ins and outs of the menu in an extraordinary way…levers spice and ingredient. And she was just so professional and a pleasure! Food was superb…..tuna tartare with a twist - queso fundo- sizzling shrimp- branzino. Just a great dinner. We save room for dessert and they didn’t disappoint. Also the most varied tequila menu I have seen. A great night in Vegas.

Fun Birthday Dinner in Vegas

By Katy823 |

We took a friend for her birthday while we were in Las Vegas. The atmosphere was cool but not as upscale as I had hoped. We got table side salsa/ guacamole and seafood surf and turf. It was all good, not exceptional. We got a pitcher of margs - these were also good. They did give up two rounds of birthday shots and a birthday desert without our asking, which was a nice surprise! The service was slow because there was a big private party taking a lot of attention. It was a $500 for 3 people but that is to be expected in Las Vegas.

Discotheque or Restaurant?

By pcryan5 |

Casa Playa has (easy) potential to be a great restaurant if they made one simple adjustment - lower the volume. My wife and I were flabbergasted at HOW LOUD THE POUNDING DISCO TYPE MUSIC WAS. Simply made the experience uncomfortable. (Now before you shrug "ok boomer" - we are rock fans - just not Saturday Night Fever fans) We asked if we were being seated in the bar or something but apparently not. Let's move on to the positive. Beautiful room. Stunner. Staff were super attentive with just the right level of engagement. The somm was five star. She provided us with a quick overview of the wines of Mexico which I am not aware of. Excellent wine list. The food is varied and reasonably priced and excellent. We had the shared seafood & meat platter for two @ $200 and could not finish it. (Too much excellent food and had to leave room for Churros!) So there you have it - a $600 meal that could have been 5 star if the owners simply considered the ambiance more carefully.

Upscale Mexican food in elegant vibrant space with great service

By GGL50 |

Loved this place located in Encore hotel. Beautiful ambiance but not stuff. Our waiter Ricky was awesome, so friendly and attentive. Food was amazing, ordered the queso fundido with chorizo for appetizer and my husband and I shared the “surf and turf” entree from two people. The beef and pork were so tender and cooked perfectly and the lobster and shrimp were tasty too. Loved the margarita selection. Would definitely go back

Vibrant & Fun!

By MelMaui |

Excellent food and atmosphere. Such amazing flavors, colors, ambiance. Great vibe, amazing staff that is passionate about their restaurant - they made our night vibrant and fun! Easy to share plates for our large party. Recommend eggplant dish 🍆

Cold food that was aweful.

By Richard R |

Wife's birthday dinner. Food took and hour and came out very cold and terrible. No excuse. Everyone around us received hot food and only waited a few minutes. I blame the waiter who didn't check up on us for.an hour. I asked another employee why our food didn't come out and it immediately came out. Ruined my Wife's birthday dinner. Poor service.

Beautiful Restaurant with Innovative Mexican Food

By Andrea S |

Beautiful restaurant with great, innovative Mexican food. Service was good. Drinks were good, but very small for the money. Overall, recommended, but know it is quite expensive.

Anniversary dinner

By Roxana H |

Great experience at this restaurant Great customer service, food was delicious and the drinks omg . We were so full and couldn’t think of dessert but were celebrating our anniversary and we got the compliment dessert on the house and it was so good that we ate it all . I really recommend this restaurant.

Green with envy? Absolutely not.

By THEFATHER |

Disappointed to say the least. Don't care about the cost of food, but very boring presentation and not that appealing. Green must the color of choice. MEXICAN BLUE SHRIMP CEVICHE. Unappealing green conglomeration of stuff. A hint of couple radish in it. SIZZLING SHRIMP A LA DIABLA- 4 giant size shrimp on a barren plate. It was sizzling. Sauce poured over the gargantuan shrimp. Wife liked the sauce, nothing special in my book. Neither of us would have this again. AMERICAN WAGYU SHORT RIB SUADERO-again with green. green shishitos, green avocado, green tomatillo. Wagyu short ribs are ok. Not fall apart tender. Green green green. Made mistake of having green rice. Rice was fine, but again green green green.... Dessert? Probably would have indulged but afraid it would be green. Would I go again? Questionable.

Beautiful Interior

By mstarrynight |

Honestly, I was bored on the gaming floor and thought I would pick up something new to taste. I looked around and saw the entrance to Casa Playa dripping with color and decided to go exploring. The bartender was kind of fantastic in his no-nonsense-but-I-got-you-for-real kind of wonderful service. It was hard not to look like a kid in a candy store studying the interior design/decor. The bar counter was a glorious sea green gray V-patterned marble. Something you don't see very often. The beautiful and wall size grayscale black-and-white photos contrasted strikingly with the rich, deep orange/mango/mandarin hues accenting everything. I will end up getting the Burnt Pavlova which is meringue with strawberries and sorbet inside. It was a lovely dessert just on the sweeter side for my tastes. But the service was memorable. He even offered me a glass of water while I waited briefly. And the interior was worthy of staring at.

Disappointing

By JT31 |

Very disappointing. Food was ok @ best . Can’t say a lot more other than to see many better options in the hotel let alone vegas generally.

Best restaurant in Vegas!!

By lukes007007 |

This was by far the best restaurant we visited in Las Vegas and we went to quite a few in our 12 day visit. We had Andy as our waiter and asked for his advice when it come to order. It was my 40th and he made the night so special and he is an absolute asset to casa Playa. I would recommend anyone to this restaurant and if you are lucky enough to get david as your waiter just let him choose your food. We will be back in september without a doubt!

Fab food

By Heather M |

Incredible food and the mocktails are incredible! The Boho Chic was the tastiest non alcohol libation that I have had in my life! Our service was phenomenal as well.

Good grief! Amazing!

By Lori G |

Second visit as we live in Seattle, but this restaurant is a knock-out from start to finish! Ahi tartare, shrimp and green rice, short ribs and chicken tinga enchiladas were all fantastic with ample portions! Susan, our server, was fun, knowledgeable and gracious, as was the manager, Jeff. Blade made our magaritas to suit our tastes with beautiful balance. Bravo and thank you all!

EXCELLENT

By Margaret M |

GORGEOUS RESTAURANT! Really great food, cocktails and service! Tuna crudo and the lamb birria were table favorites but you cannot go wrong.

Great cocktails, overly salted food

By Paul M |

Great cocktails and service. Amazing tequila and mezcal tasting options, and maybe the best margarita I’ve ever had in Vegas. The food, though, was disappointing. Everything I had was a salt bomb, sadly. Will skip the food next time, but would definitely go back for cocktails.

Relaxing Interior With Great Food

By Bradford A |

We dined at Casa Playa on June 19. The interior of the restaurant is very well done. This relaxing environment is coupled with outstanding service. Timing in a restaurant is a major contributor to the service. Our server was spot on with that. The cocktails were well done and, on the table, quickly. The house made guacamole and three salsas were exceptional. My wife had the Chicken Tinga Enchilada’s and they were very nicely done. I am not a big fish eater but I ordered the Branzino Zarandeado. It had a nice rub on it and the fish was mild and perfectly cooked. We did a side of the Black Ayocote Beans with the entrees. Black beans are difficult to make appetizing but these were good. If you go to Casa Playa, expect a warm and relaxing atmosphere, great timing, exceptional service, and really good food. It is a little pricey but, hey, you are in Vegas. Just bring a little coin and enjoy yourself.

Superb service

By jftx |

Our waitress Susan was phenomenal, if you asked her what she would recommend, her recommendations were perfect!!! The food was delicious and beyond our expectations!! Would definitely highly recommend this restaurant... Ask for Susan, she will steer you in the right direction!

Birthday Dinner

Absolutely delicious! Great selection and the staff were very friendly. I highly recommend coming here for upscale Mexican experience

Loved the guacamole!

By diningprincess |

The guacamole and chips were really good. The margaritas were good. I loved my husband’s crab and sweet corn dish. The octopus was okay. The mole with it was a bit spicy for me. The chairs were a bit uncomfortable.

Great

This is a Mexican restaurant located at the Encore (not the Wynn). Good food and atmosphere. We ordered Squash and Mole. Friendly staff, good music.

Nice and good

By Marians |

Mexican restaurant inside the Wynn hotel. Very nice location in line with the very new and modern hotel, impeccable service, very helpful and helpful staff, good food and well served, affordable prices considering the place and considering that we are in Las Vegas. we had 2 appetizers and 2 second courses and spent $180 for two including tip.

Not worth the Hype, food not worth it!

By AMonique S |

Was excited to be able to get a reservation but was very disappointed with the food. Every item we ordered was lacking flavor. From the chips and guacamole, to the main course of steak and seafood, everything was very bland for being a Mexican restaurant. We expected more from a restaurant at the Wynn and Encore Resort. We visit the Wynn and Encore at least a few times a year and we will not be going back to this restaurant. I prefer SW and Wazuzu, never disappointed with either one of those restaurants.

Amazing Food and Atmosphere

By LuxeGirlNYC |

What a beautiful restaurant. Am I in Tulum or Vegas? The food is as superb as the decor. I had the Boho Chic mocktail, which was wonderful. My friend's cocktail was also delicious. The chips and salsa that you start with are phenomenal. I'm still dreaming of the hot salsa. Life hack: mix all three salsas for an explosion of flavor in your mouth. We shared the queso fundido, which was amazing and the barbacoa flautas, which were good but not as amazing as everything else. We ordered the short rib suadero and the chicken mole to share but unfortunately, could not eat the chicken mole. Our server, Marisa, did not know the menu and misinformed us as to how it was prepared. She was unapologetic and did not handle the situation well. Other than that snafu (and it's a big snafu), the restaurant was great. We did not have time for dessert but maybe next time.

The reviews don’t do this place justice!

By Melissa |

The place is beautiful and the vibe is hopping. Ricki was my server and he was fun and attentive. He helped me narrow down my selections and made my dinner a whole experience! The food and drinks were delicious. The blistered shishitos, squash tamal, and kampachi were some of my favorites. I would put the service, food, and experience up there with some of the higher rated restaurants on property. I will return!

Beautiful restaurant, great vibe, good food and wonderful service!

Beautiful restaurant, great vibe, good food and wonderful service! We went for a couples dinner in the Encore and it did not disappoint!

This place is the bomb!

By NJtravel099 |

Finally, a Strip restaurant where we were seated on time and enjoyed innovative food with impeccable service! First off, great layout and atmosphere. The cocktails were awesome - we tried most of them, including the Oaxaca (served under a smoking head!), margarita, Onsidian (best tasting) and the Fortuna (served in a shell). The guac and salsas were awesome. We had the Pork Belly al Pastor for the table - the pork was so perfectly cooked and tender it fell off the skewers and melted in the mouth. We finished up with La Flama Blanca, which was “the bomb” (literally). We had a nice conversation with Jerry the manager, and were really well taken care of. If you’re looking for a nice dinner on the Strip, Casa Playa is a good option!

Great Food, Disappointing Service at Casa Playa

By Jocoyle77 |

My experience at Casa Playa was a mixed bag, with the food being the highlight but the service leaving much to be desired. The dishes we ordered were genuinely impressive—flavorful, well-presented, and a testament to the kitchen’s skill. The menu offered a great mix of coastal-inspired cuisine, and every bite felt like a treat. However, the overall experience was tarnished by our server, whose attitude shifted noticeably toward the end of the meal. When we politely declined dessert, their response was a curt, “I’ll get the bill then,” despite the fact that we still had half a bottle of wine left to enjoy. This made us feel rushed and unwelcome, which is particularly disappointing when you’re spending $393 (plus tip) on a dinner. For that price, you’d expect an atmosphere that encourages you to linger and savor the experience, not one that pushes you out the door. The abruptness was jarring and left a sour taste, overshadowing the quality of the food. While the cuisine at Casa Playa is undeniably nice, the service needs serious improvement to match the premium price point. Feeling hurried through a meal is not what I expect from a high-end dining experience, and for that reason, I won’t be returning. If you’re considering dining here, the food is worth trying, but be prepared for service that might not align with the cost or ambiance you’d hope for.

MEXICAN FOOD OFFENSE

A destination for great Mexican cuisine

By Joe P |

Casa Playa is a great alternative to the portion-busting steakhouses and red-sauce Italian restaurants. It is located in Wynn's Encore hotel, right next to the Beach Club, and specializes in Mexican Coastal cuisine. Like many Mexican places, you get chips and salsa, but at Casa Playa, you get 3 types of salsa. I found the smoky, chunky salsa roja to be the tastiest, but the spicy queso and the green tomatillo were equally good. The chips were quite good, warm and crisp, and were obviously made in-house. For my main course, I opted for the Chicken Tinga Enchiladas with a side of the Green Rice. While I am not a big seafood aficionado, there were many other diners there enjoying their seafood dishes. Overall, Casa Playa was one of the best meals I had this trip in Las Vegas. The restaurant itself is quite tastefully designed, the sort of modern restaurant I've seen in Mexico City. The servers are very attentive and friendly, but don't hover over you. While the restaurant is right next to the casino floor, it is designed so that you can't hear or see the crowd at the casino. Much appreciated. Even though it wasn't crowded the time I went, I'd still recommend making a reservation just to make sure.

Not For Us - We Hated It

By Islandmomma4ever |

Were from Texas and that's probably a lot of the problem. We like our Tex-Mex and it's nothing like traditional Mexican food. I don't know if this is authentic Mexican food or not but I do know it was just strange and it wasn't good. The Guacamole had way too much lime in it and not enough salt. The Queso without any meat in (which you could get) was boring. My husband ordered the short ribs and although he said they were tender it was the weirdest presentation on a plate I have ever seen. It looked like a puddle of green goo with some green peppers in it! It looked awful! Nothing else came with it for $57 except short ribs and green slimy goo. Seriously! I got the Branzino and it had some pickled onions and watermelon radishes on top for about $40 or so on top and nothing else came with it. All the sides are extra and the main entrees are way too expensive. I went to get the fish tacos, and was told that their only for late nights on weekends, I did not see that mentioned on the menu before going. We like Mexican and we like Seafood, but the food here is not for us. It was a very expensive waste of money and I would never recommend it.
