This is probably one of the best kept secrets in San Antonio. The food is excellent! The staff is great! The prices are very affordable. I would definitely recommend giving it a try!

Omg best food we had in San Antonio! The creamy mushroom sauce with shrimp was amazing. My friend had creamy mushroom sauce with chicken amazing!!!

If you love cilantro as I do, order the chicken breast with cilantro sauce here-- it's not on the menu, but it's one of the weekly specials and can be made-to-order on request. It's fabulous! The complementary chips and salsa are one of the best parts of any meal here. The management is excellent, and the service is usually good. (They do have a bar, but it isn't staffed, and I don't recommend their cocktails. Avoid the margaritas here-- you have been warned.) My only real complaint is that this restaurant has hiked their prices (on food and beverages,) and given the proximity of a higher-ranked Mexican restaurant one block away, Casa Sol's increased prices kind of ruined their competitive edge. (... But the salsa IS good!)

Attentive service, terrific food! Plenty of parking in a small commercial complex. I had the jalapeño enchiladas. In and out for about $20. A great Mexican lunch experience in San Antonio.

I noticed some mixed reviews on this place, but most of the recent reviews were positive. We went for dinner on a Friday night. The restaurant wasn't crowded, not a good sign. Our server was very attentive and after we plowed through the first basket of chips asked if we would like to try the hot salsa. It was delicious. I asked for advice about what to order. He asked a few questions and then recommended a chicken dish which was a house specialty. It was awesome. The chicken was tender and well seasoned. My wife had beef tacos which were also tasty. I will definitely go back the next time I am in San Antonio.

We went in on a Friday night with a large group (reservation made in advance). They were ready for us when we arrived. All orders were taken and only a couple came out wrong. They fixed the order promptly to make sure everything was correct. They were very appreciative of our business. Food was really good and they have a great happy hour too. If you haven’t been to Casa Sol, go check them out!

We stopped for lunch on a Thursday en route to the airport, so our time was limited, but Casa Sol did not disappoint. We had great speedy service and a terrific lunch! My taco salad very good. It was served with queso and chips on the side. Hubby ordered the crispy taco plate. He claims this is one of the few restaurants where the crispy tacos are really crispy and not a soggy mess! Very good house salsa.

Party of 16 recently had Sunday lunch at Casa Sol. Good service (even for 16); great Tex-Mex. The tamales were excellent!

Had a lovely dinner here. The place is so cosy and food amazing. We ate nachos with cheese and salsa as starter and fajitas as main. Huge portions, was so sad I couldn’t finish because everything was so good. Also great non-alcoholic drinks.

Delicious food, big portions, good price, and very helpful staff. Good for a work lunch, easy to get a good meal quickly.

Good solid Mexican food. The Milanesa Mexican Chicken Fried steak is my favorite. Service is fast. Price is low and good for lunch on a workday.

Salsa was excellent! Food was good for the price. Nice quiet place. Service was okay. We were there early, almost no one there...seemed to be a number of carry outs.

My daughter & I decided to make it a Mexican Food weekend. We used TripAdvisor to help us find our third Mexican restaurant in less than 24 hours. We were not disappointed. I ordered the special which was Pollo Tropical (pictures below). I substituted the white rice for Spanish rice. The chicken was seasoned well & the sauce on top was delicious. The plates were large& I was stuffed when I finished. However, we decided to order sopapillas to go. They were so light & fluffy. The layers of pastry were like a turnover, and they were huge. Very glad we listen to my fellow reviewers & tried this place out. It’s nothing fancy, but I find those places to be some of the best.

Really good not to spicy jalapeño chicken enchiladas. Free salsa refills and fresh tortillas. Better to me than Mi Terra. Just outside of loop 410 but to me worth it.

Food was good, service was excellent. Salsa was alright...would eat here again if in the area. Chips were stale.

Contrary to their FaceBook page, the Casa Sol is NOT closed. It is open for business. My wife and I ate there today (Tuesday, Aug. 30). We were told that they no longer maintain their Facebook page and wasn't aware of the posting. As for the service and food, just as we experienced in the past, the service was great as was the food. It is our favorite Tex-Mex restaurant in San Antonio.

I stopped in here for a late dinner. The restaurant wasn't crowded and it looked like only a few people were working. The adult drinks were limited to beer or margaritas, so I had a regular lime margarita on the rocks which was large and smooth (not too much tequila). I looked for healthy or vegetarian options on the menu and landed on spinach enchiladas that had mushrooms and a light cheese sauce. They were well-prepared as were the rice and beans. There are many other menu selections so should be something for everyone.

We went for a quick lunch at the fajitas very good, service good price is reasonable. A great restaurant for the Near North Side of San Antonio we went for a quick lunch at the fajitas very good, service good prices reasonable. A great restaurant for the near in North side of San Antonio

This is a small family run business that is as authentic is it gets. Large portions and great service. You cannot go wrong here.
Good Mexican
Good Mexican fare but not top notch. Not as large a selection as we would have liked. Not quite as spicy as I would have liked. Good prices. Nice atmosphere.
