Fantastic Moroccan Spot in LA — Transported Right Back To Marrakech

By Spencer F |

Incredibly kind, hospitable and attentive staff. Having been to Marrakech in Morocco, I can firmly say this food rivaled the best restaurants I dined at in the “motherland”. The decor and feel of the back dining area immediately transports you to Morocco. The atmospheric music is relaxing and authentic. The lamb tagine was phenomenal. Great spot to relive one’s travels, for a date, or generally for an outstanding meal. Will definitely be coming back soon!

Hidden gem

Now I wish we still had more of those restaurants. Family owned and not Insta famous. One of those place where food is just great and nice atmosphere. It's a little pricey but portions are very generous and two people could easily share a meal.

Excellent! The food is authentic and delicious

My husband was born and raised in Morocco so we know good Moroccan food and this was excellent. We had salad, pastilla, tagine and 2 kinds of couscous. It seemed everything was prepared with great care . We were told that the lamb takes 8 hours to cook. We live 2 hours away and will definitely go back. The building is old and they have decorated it with a lot of authentic decor to make it inviting.

Truly Moroccan Restaurant in Los Angeles

It was exactly what we desired. When walking in you hear the Oud guitar music, Moroccan decor and smell of moroccan spices. Most Delicious Lamb Tagine I’ve had. Small family operated restaurant. They take great pride and gracious & the husband is the chef…Desert was delicious as well. A complete Moroccan experience.

Delicious Find on Melrose!

Casablanca Moroccan was delightful. The food was so delicious and such a nice change from the usual Italian or Sushi, and certainly a cuisine we aren't able to get in our hometown of Kansas City. The prices were reasonable and portions were substantial. My husband and I both ordered the 3 course pescatarian. The salads were delicious, I loved the beet with feta and almonds and my daughter scarfed up my husband's tomato and cucumber. The seafood pastilla was delicious, every morsel was devoured and the seabass tagine was amazing, the flavors of the sauce..yum. My daughter ordered the chicken pastilla which was a sweet salty combination, really unique and the veggie couscous was tasty and an ample serving. Our server could not have been nicer and we enjoyed the environment which transported you to Morocco. Give this lovely restaurant a try, you'll be glad you did. We certainly were and plan to be back on a return trip to LA!

This was a family birthday dinner and it could not have been more amazing! The food was fantastic. The chef made a special dinner for my husband who has a special diet. Two guests were vegetarian and loved their meals. My lamb was spectacular. The wait staff was amazing and we had a special belly dancing birthday performance. It was an evening my family can’t stop talking about!

Such a wonderful experience!

My husband and I love Moroccan food and we've been looking for a new place for years. But we live in the Valley and don't go into Hollywood very often. Man, are we ever glad we did! The atmosphere is lovely. It's homey and comfortable, but also romantic and intimate. We went for the DineLA menu, to get an idea of their selections. OMG. We each received a salad sampler. 3 different bowls of salads. All so delicious. I typically would choose the tomato cucumber as my favorite, and that was wonderful, but the beets were the best. Even the carrots (I don't usually like carrots) were excellent. I ordered the seafood pastilla and the fish tagine. My husband got the chicken pastilla and the lamb honey tagine. Good lord. Every. Single. Bite. was perfect. The flavors, spice levels, textures - all perfect. Oh, and the homemade bread and marinated olives. Divine. And to top it all off, the owners are just the sweetest, friendliest, most welcoming people. Nyima and her husband (sorry Chef, I didn't get your name) made us feel like family. If you enjoy Moroccan cuisine; this place is a must. We will definitely be back - and we'll bring friends!
