Awesome!

Gabby was very helpful and kind! We loved our experience and would come again! Very good recommendations and very helpful with allergies!

Meh.

Watered down cocktails. Slow service. Rude hostess. Waitress was kind but they were a bit understaffed and priortized socializing with other staff, rather than assist customers.

BEST BAR WITH BEAUTIFUL AMBIANCE AND HEART TAKING VIEW

By Prrateek Chaudhary |

CatBird is the most happening place in Dallas Downtown. If you are looking for a bar with a great ambiance, good food, and best cocktails, with DJ, this is the place for you. I visited a catbird with my friends and enjoyed our evening. We ordered cocktails and lamb chops and both were fantastic. Catbird is located at Thompson Hotel but on the 9th floor, and the view is heart taking. If you want to enjoy DJ with your friends, then inside sitting is for you, and if you want to stay quiet with the best view, I suggest go with alfresco sitting. Service and ambiance are so good.

Male Servers Dressed in Drag

By Damian C |

Service is horrible, I decided to give it another try after a very unpleasant experience I had with a group of girls where they called security on us because we were seated at a reserved table, not caring or wanting to find us another table so that we could spend money, oh noooo they don’t want your money here. Again the same thing happened, this time my fiancé and I decided to go back and give them another chance. The place was empty very empty, and yet they ran 5 of us out of a faux-reserved table and would not accommodate us with another table. Security came once again and ordered us to move, and then a guy approached us and asked us what seemed to be the problem, we then proceeded to point out how there were nothing but empty tables and why would they ask 5 people to move to risk a potentially huge bill of 5 he had no explanation. This place is sooo pretentious wanting a faux-exclusive vibe where there isn't one. The hostesses here are horrible, I feel bad for the bartenders because the 2 guys working the bar were super nice and friendly too bad they are at the mercy of the hostesses therefore I can see they are losing money because of their rudeness. Another thing is if I wanted to be at a drag show I would go to a drag show, this is Texas, not LA therefore men should be wearing male clothing not like that rude server that was wearing a dress and a shiny necklace that is just appalling……

Went for drinks with friends and really enjoyed the drinks and the s’mores dessert was delicious. Our server Jennifer was wonderful!

Terrible service

By Alex S |

Not worth the hype! Terrible service! Such a shame as they came recommended by a chef friend and dfw restraunt owner friend of mine. Would not recommend or return!

Great food and atmosphere!

Great food and atmosphere! The catbird did not slight on tequila and the lemon drop was delightful. We sampled salmon and hot chicken for starters and finished with steak. All were perfection!

Evening Out

From the moment we walked in, until the moment we left, it was an amazing experience. We had the Miso Salmon, the Charcuterie board, which consisted of smoked gouda and blue cheese, a mini variety of salami, toasted French bread and a spicy deli mustard. For drinks, we had a mojito and a lemon drop. Our meal attendant was Nehemiah, and he was awesome! Very attentive, very professional and provided a 360° pleasurable experience. AWESOME EXPERIENCE.

Make sure the desk staff approve of your outfit

Stayed at The Thompson over the weekend. We went down at 6:30 to have drinks. I could tell they were surprised when we walked up and said we wanted to have drinks since they asked if we were staying at the hotel. We replied yes and they said we have a dress code and we were welcome to come back if we changed. We explained we didn’t have anything to change into and they said so sorry. Slightly confused, we just left and in the lobby they asked what happened (they had directed us to the elevators for the hotel) and we explained we had been dress coded. I finally asked if my outfit was the problem because my husband was wearing a short sleeved button up and slacks and was told yes. It was all I could do not to laugh. I was wearing what I guess they considered too casual of pants (designer graffiti pants.) I do understand that this is probably a splurge for a lot of people and they are trying to maintain a certain “look” but it’s funny to watch people walk in in jeans and a sweater after you are turned away.

50th Birthday Celebration at Catbird

Plenty of seating, beautiful surroundings, delicious food and cocktails, as well as indoor and outdoor seating options. Definitely plan to go back and try some of the signature cocktails.

Catbird

We used to go out with girls every Saturday evening. Every Saturday we try a new place with an interesting menu and unique atmosphere! My first experience and first impression with Catbird was much better than on my last visit. On the first visit the service and music were better. Unusual serving of dishes, stylish format, positive ambiance made this place the most popular today, one of those which you must visit . But We have had an issue with separate checks, the manager came and has made it possible for us. The second time the manager did not make it for us, and it was not comfortable for us. Plus, the waiter brought me a different wine. On the second visit there were not as many dancing tracks as on the first visit. I think Restaurants should provide a separate check policy to make it comfortable for the guests. My rates after the 2nd visit: SERVICE 3 STAFF FRIENDLINESS 4 DJ/MUSIC 5 COCTAILS/DRINKS 5 ATMOSPHERE 5 VALUE FOR MONEY 3 CLEANLINESS 5 I liked: Energetic atmosphere, good music, interesting interior design, chic décor, good food, location, view from the patio, phenomenal cocktails, a mix of aesthetic and vibes! I did not like: No separate checks for the companies more than 4 people, no coffee and hot tea, the waiter did not bring what I was asking for, prices are too high for the cocktails, limited menu options. The experience could be better if: The service should be more customer-oriented, provide separate checks, diversify the food menu, and put more fresh hits on the music list. Any way, I would recommend this place for romantic dates and friend gatherings!

Simply drinks

By Syl |

We went there for drinks to celebrate a girls night out/birthday. The place is fancy and trendy. Perfect to be seen and people watch. I was a little bit disappointed honestly by the menu which was really limited. However drinks were decent, 15-18usd for a cocktail where you people watch is an average price. I had a dirty martini because nothing really appealed to me. Food wise, we ordered oysters (3usd/oysters), 2*cheese and charcuterie board with plastic cheese and very little meat. Tuna crudo: 3 slices of tuna and 3 slices of watermelon…. It was good but the amount of food was really little for 18 usd! Bone marrow: not seasoned enough. French fries with truffle ketchup… probably was the best dish! IMO I will never go back… if it was Gordon Ramsay he might have had a heart attack at the look of the cheese board 😅 - but then if you just want drinks and fries, it’s the place to go.

Beautiful Place. Beautiful People. Beautiful Views.

During a recent stay at the Thompson, I was able to visit “Catbird.” I would describe it as an elevated small plates restaurant/cocktail lounge. It is highly regarded and very popular with locals. Service is great. The place is MADE for Instagram, particularly on the outside deck overlooking Downtown at “golden hour.” The cocktails looked amazing, the food was delicious, and the wine list is a nice blend of quality old world and new world wines. I hope to return soon!

Neat place

My girls friends and I went to the Catbird while staying at the Thompson. This was my first time here. It is consider a speakeasy. It is a pretty neat little bar that does have some food options. You can make reservations. There is an outdoor patio area. This place is on the 9th floor at the Thompson. Nice classy place!

DO NOT GO THERE

By Pananya K |

DO NOT GO THERE! What a disappointment! I reserve a patio seating to get there to learn that I am seated in the middle of hallway because the patio isn't opened. There is no communication in advance that the patio is closed. THEY DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO EMEND THE SITUATION. We decided to walk away. NO NOT RECOMMEND GOING THERE. THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO SERVICE CUSTOMERS.
