Great nightlife restaurant.

By Fatimah A |

Had a wonderful evening with friends. It was great food and a hot spot if you’re looking for a good looking crowd.

LOVEEEEEEE IT

I came here a month ago already. I ordered the gnocchi: best vegan dish !! great atmosphere, the place is just beautiful. I wish I could get back one day !!!

Great food and great service

By FlyRight |

Grabbed a last minute reservation when my flight was canceled. We were seated right away as we navigated numerous young ladies taking selfies. Our waitress was excellent. She explained menu items well and was attentive the whole time. The food was delicious. The open air roof adds to the ambiance when seated inside.

Awful

By Ains144 |

My boyfriend and I booked catch L.A. on our first night in LA after seeing loads of hype on Instagram. We booked a table for 08.30 and arrived bang on we got sent upstairs and checked in to be told to wait at the bar and our table will be ready shortly..... well 😂 45 mins later no update the hostess didn’t come over to us so my BF went and asked how long it will be, 1. They didn’t even know our last name 2. They just said your tables coming soon. Hostess then spend another half an hour walking by us ignoring us when we could see empty tables waiting? People came in after us got seated before and finally after 1hr 15 mins of waiting and another complaint we got seated at the very back of the restaurant only because another couple refused the table after waiting so long. By this point I was tired hungry and could no wait any longer, I didn’t even want to eat here anymore but we took an Uber and was just so much hassle. Hostess did not apologise when seating us.... luckily the food was good which made the wait semi worthwhile. But it ruined our plans as our full night was spent here in catch LA by the time we got seat ate food etc. Would not recommend atall, seems like they only care about high class celebs and seating them. Do not have a reservation system and leave people waiting for over an hour. Just awful. Teach ur staff how to communicate and maybe you’s would get on better, or find a better way to run the system. Very disappointed

Amazing food and fun decor

By IndyS83 |

Went here on our first night in LA for a belated anniversary meal. We booked this with ease from the UK before we arrived with no issues. Although a little bit on the pricier side, it was worth it. The views from the rooftop were amazing especially at sunset, the decor was funky, hoping to see a celeb or two - but didn't (celeb hot spot). Service was attentive. Food was delicious but could do with a tiny bit more variety on the sushi side. Go here on a special occasion

Wagyu Surf and Turf Roll!

By tamjan |

Amazing, decorative space with gorgeous interior and lighting! Had the sushi and a champagne. Bar is easy to meet people and the staff are extremely competent. I attended The Catch on Melrose Avenue. Book in advance on open table - line was out the door even on a tuesday!

Over rated, terrible

By John Dinis |

It took 45 minutes to take the order, than more 35 to get the main dish. 6 steaks. All medium rare. One was as requested. Wine? Drinks? We tried to order, final it arrived… Experience? Terrible, horrible. Loud, bad service, dirt toilets.

Fun atmosphere and great food with gluten free options

By Rovadia |

We sat outside on the rooftop for dinner, beautiful place. Great sushi with gluten free options. Good cocktails, sake and a lively atmosphere. Hit me cake was delicious and gluten free!!! Service was very professional except for the hostesses which didn't really care if you exist.. made us wait quite a lot of time for our reserved table.

Very bad first impression

By F Y |

From the first impression the front desk treat (customer) like they are doing them a favour it make your experience extremely disappointing manager never come to the tables you watch them walking around trying to be busy The only people that did a great job is the busboys I will give them six star and kitchen the food was outstanding but food is not enough to keep customers happy I wish them the best and I hope that the owners understand in this business today you’re hot tomorrow you’re not and the only way for costmar to come back is to be generally happy to see them you don’t need to do me a favour or make me feel that I’m not good enough for you when I’m spending $1000 on a dinner for four

A birthday dinner at a spectacular restaurant

By regis k |

I have to say this is one of the best restaurants in LA. Despite what the reviewers said about their staff, I received the most amazing service during our dinner. Our waitress was very attentive. She introduced to us the most delicious dish selections. I specially like the mac & cheese. This is the best I ever had. The dish is not too creamy and the amount of cheese is just right. The decoration is amazing and spectacular. We can’t stop taking pictures. I felt I made the right decision taking my wife here to celebrate her birthday

Customers an inconvenience to this ‘too cool for school’ place

By Jf H |

Food ok but not outstanding. Certainly not worth the supercilious attitude of the girl whose sole job is to stand by the door and greet people she knows.

Don’t bother!

By Climber46515138068 |

Chose Catch to celebrate my birthday. Had 7:30 reservation on Sunday night. Party of 5. Weren't seated until 8:20. Was told we'd get an appetizer for the wait. Not offered the appetizer when we were seated. Had to ask. Were told all our food wouldn't come out at the same time? WTH? Two plates came out at a time. Last plate came out when we were all finished except one. Management wouldn't allow a birthday cake or FLOWERS (a gift) to be brought up to our table. RIDICULOUS! Just horrible

Excellent place

By Sean M. |

My wife and I had the pleasure of eating at Catch LA. What great place, The drinks, food, and service were outstanding. Great upstairs venue, The wait staff was exceptional. All around great location.

I would return

By jemfromwales |

Exceptional food in a casual atmosphere. I really enjoyed the Spanish octopus and the Lobster Mac n Cheese. Service was good. Music soundtrack well chosen and not too loud. Expensive but worth is

Worth it for the insta photo

By Avtar-H |

Came here for a bday meal with my partner and the cocktails are decent. Food portions aren’t huge, but it does taste great. The restaurant is a bit pricey, but your paying for the experience and atmosphere. Worth a try.

Delicious rooftop seafood restaurant

By Cheryl K |

The food was delicious, especially the roasted branzino, Spanish octopus, little gem Caesar salad and the hit me chocolate cake. The service was great. We sat on the terrace which was quiet. Some reviews complained about having to wait but we were seated right away.

The coolest spot in LA. Amazing sushi. Filled with cool A-list people

By AnilJ |

The coolest spot right now on the LA scene and one of the most sought after places to dine. A definite A-list joint that’s filled with pretty people where you’ll be sure to spot a celebrity! The sushi is amazing as are the Filet Beef Sticks. The location is amazing perched high. The service is efficient and attentive. The prices are on the high side but the experience is priceless. A booking is essential as wait times for walk-in is long. You’ll thank me later as we had the most amazing time and enjoyed their signature cocktails served by their superb mixologists. Don’t miss out.

Yes, yes and yes again

By Cecilia S |

Every time we come to LA it's a regular stop. Beautiful environment, mouth-watering sushi and more. Perfect service. The only thing is to cover yourself because it's cold 🥶 Absolutely recommended. Prices appropriate to the quality

Fabulous dinner place

By MJacobi |

Our food was absolutely delicious, loved the ambiance - it being a warm day& evening made the open ceiling atmosphere spectacular. And our waiter Tapley made our evening. We felt absolutely pampered’ by him in the best possible way. He made us want to go there again!!! Perfect attentive helpful joyful service.

Fun atmosphere with Top Quality Dishes

By pflagdad |

We took an elevator ride to the "Roof" and sat outside. Happy young diners surrounded us. We ate crispy cauliflower as an appetizer with our Cabernet. My wife had the grilled Branzino (excellent), I enjoyed my Arctic char. We were stuffed. We admired a beautiful "donut" dessert at the next table, but couldn't eat another bite.

Put this one on the bucket list!

By Penny J |

Beautiful and elegant dining. The food was simply amazing! Celebrating with my son and the experience was so enjoyable. Mushroom spaghetti and Wagyu fried rice as must haves! I can't wait to come back next visit to LA!

Bad experience

By Marcuffo |

My wife and I had a really bad experience at this place. Although we had booked a table days in advance, signaling that we had to celebrate an anniversary (we are on our honeymoon), the table we were assigned can be described as a “coffee table”. The area was so small that I doubt there would have been enough space for two coffee cups, let alone for a proper dinner. To make matters worse, this inadequate "table" was less than 20 centimeters from another couple's table. We had absolutely no space and felt like we were disturbing our neighbors' meal. Since I had booked and there were other empty tables nearby, I politely asked to change tables. Staff refused stating that it was "impossible". This lack of flexibility and consideration is unacceptable. The whole experience was unpleasant and frankly offensive. We ended up leaving without eating.

TOO cold inside

By Sara B |

good food, very nice location but not in the right conditions for a dinner. Inside the place it was less than 63 degrees, air conditioning at maximum. when I asked to be able to dine outside because inside it was definitely too cold he said no, even though the tables outside remained almost all empty for the rest of the evening. I ate quickly just to get out of that freezing environment. (outside it was 70 degrees, not 120). A good place must not only be beautiful, but put you in the perfect conditions to eat well in comfort.

Always a great meal if you can handle the scene

By MooshLA |

I absolutely love dining here once you get seated and past the often experienced annoyances of the entryway. As a result of this being such a popular dining destination you experience the typical LA who's who and spotting of the fellow diners to a really high degree. A reservation is an absolute must here otherwise you can be waiting forever and a day. The bar is usually filled with customers waiting for their tables to become ready. Once seated you are in for a treat with excellent service all around and a really wide variety of tasty items on the menu. Most items are priced high however you are getting a really high quality experience here especially if you score a table on the outside deck complete with an amazing LA view. I haven't had a bad meal here so I often visit.

Absolute LA vibes

By Stevolpool1 |

Catch is everything you want from a night out in LA. We absolutely loved it. From the instagrammable entrance, amazing sushi, great service.... everything was just spot on. We booked as we were on holiday from the UK and we were looking for that perfect rooftop LA experience. Catch did not disappoint. Dress to impress and be the envy of all your instagram followers. I would definitely recommend.

Tourist Trap

By David Stovall |

Don’t be fooled by the velvet rope at the entrance. Even by L.A. standards this is an overpriced tourist trap with mediocre food and even worse service. We’re locals and joined a friend for hopefully nice conversation over a nice dinner in a class joint. Nope. The staff was obviously instructed to turn tables fast because we were told by our server that for “efficiency “ we should order everything at once, an old restaurant thick. Judging by the speed or food came out it was certainly pre-prepared and waiting under a heat lamp. Busboys hovered like flies waiting to snatch our plates. Server, Marco, never came back to check on us. No wiping the table between courses. Table was disgustingly sticky. 2 cocktails, 2 apps, 1 entree, 1 dessert, and 2 coffees came to $276.

Actually pretty good

By Bugs1012 |

It’s one of those super busy restaurants where you make a reservation but they seat you 45 minutes later... which is frustrating... but the place has energy and the food, when we got to it, was very good. Be prepared to spend money though, this is not a cheap night out.

Good food, nice atmosphere!

By thisgirl_Gray |

Catch LA is a nice spot to dine with friends. Visited here for brunch on 03/05/22 for a friend's birthday get-together. Had reservations, so was seated in a timely manner. The staff was friendly and our server was nice. We all ordered different things so we had a variety of foods to share at the table. The drinks were good as well, and the atmosphere was casual. However, this isn't a cheap place so be prepared to spend $$$$.

GORGEOUS INCREDIBLE VIEW and fabulous food and service. One of the best restaurants in Los Angeles.

By adrienne500 |

Catch LA was fabulous and the food was wonderful! Great service and best view ever! LOVE Catch LA! This is the best place for dinner, brunch, vies, romantic, family, birthdays, girls reunion, etc.

Beautiful Spot!

By Julie R |

More than the typical see and be seen place- Catch is a beautiful spot with great staff and awesome food. Put down your phones after taking the requisite photos and enjoy it! Bartender was one of the friendliest we met in the whole of LA. Would go again for sure!

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!

By Acarver |

Complete pile of croc ..promised a table 30 mins after we booked ..full of off staff not a glue what was going on ..over promising and under delivering ..get over your hype and understand managing a restaurant and clientele is s balance Restaurants in London far exceed your pretense

WOW JUST WOW

By yeahstella |

Amazing ambiance especially for dinner and the food was OUTSTANDING! The service was prompt and they checked on us many times which I loved. Would def recommend for a date, definitely going back!

Pricey, but delicious!

By poohneller |

Treated our daughter to a rooftop Valentines dinner at Catch. The food was fantastic....served in courses they determine based on your order. Everything we had was delicious (filet skewers, Brussels, chicken bao buns, cod lettuce wraps, mushroom pasta and doughnuts). Definitely get dessert! It’s pricey but tasty!!

It was my BDay

By Inna T |

The manager and secretary was really mean to us. I guess because we were speaking with an accent.. sexism or racism I don’t know what it was. I would say they are spoiled my BDay. After 90 min they were literally kicked us out. Half of the tables were empty at that time. They didn’t let us wait for our friends, they were in a restroom. Manager asked us to wait outside. Sooo Disrespectful

Mother's Day Brunch was great

By DeeFry |

We had a nice Mother's Day brunch at Catch LA. Food was delicious, but only wish that the French toast with blueberry compote came with more blueberries as there were only a couple of teaspoons scattered about. Also wish that they had poured us a second cup of coffee during the meal (coffee offered after we were done dining). However, overall, we had a great time and all five of us enjoyed the brunch, especially our daughter who loved her avocado toast. Paid parking on the street. Valet parking doesn't start until late afternoon.

Beautiful experience

By AnkitaSa |

Highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. Great service, scrumptious food, & drink are amazing. Great place for couples, date night, or any special occasion.

Trendy place

By Talgat D |

It is very popular place, so better to make a reservation. Price - not cheap. Food - primary seafood but with other options. If you like raw seafood the have nice option - the tower. It is very fancy place with good food.

We love Catch!

By Kelly M |

We have loved Catch LA for years. Just going into the building, you feel special, as they check your reservation before you get onto the elevator. Then, at the top of the elevator...the entrance to the restaurant is absolutely breathtaking! A lovely greenhouse feel...without the steamy heat. Every time we go, we are greeted warmly by the hostesses and shown to our table promptly. This time, we had a great table from which we could see everyone coming in...fun people-watching. While we were ordering, they opened the ceiling above us, which was fascinating to watch! Everything on the menu is delicious, and the service is always great. Kudos to Luke for offering us great service while we were there this time! The great food, great service, and fantastic atmosphere make it an awesome place to dine! We love Catch LA!

Incredible food and experience

By Karina K |

Outstanding experience from start to finish! Our reservation was honored right on time, and we were seated immediately at a beautiful table. The space is stunning — lush, garden-like, indoor atmosphere with upbeat music and a fun, lively vibe, yet quiet enough to hold a conversation comfortably. We ordered the “Hits II” tasting menu, and it truly lived up to its name. Every dish delivered bold flavor, high-quality ingredients, and creative combinations, all plated beautifully. The service was exceptional throughout — attentive, warm, and seamless. Highly recommend — absolutely worthy of 100%! Would come back in a heartbeat. 🙌🍽️

Not that special

By JM27S |

Third year in a row at catch LA and the vibe has changed a lot this time. We made reservations but had to wait to be seated more than 30 minutes past our reservation time. No amazing roll of bread with honey butter this time for the table. Food was good but not amazing. Their signature desert cake of course it was good. But the vibe changed a lot. It is more commercial than relaxes and don’t think I will be coming back.

Really BAD service

By Sandra V |

Such a deep disappointment! The service was really bad and arrogant including the manager. For 37 minutes they kept saying “your next table of four “ but unfortunately we saw otherwise. We kept seeing other parties getting their table before us. We booked this table weeks in advance since we’re travelling from Europe but we’re obviously not good enough for this restaurant.

You had me at Garden Entrance

By MatchstickLive |

Absolutely loved walking into this bar/restaurant - the entrance is beautiful. Although we were there for a drink, you can see its a locals favourite with great food, drinks, views and atmosphere. Staff were great too. Little pricey, but what do you expect in WeHo?

Only in LA is this deemed “acceptable”

By km-manly |

Had an reservation at 845, arrived on time to be told to wait at the bar for a table to be ready shortly. Bar was incredibly busy with no room at all for all of us other suckers waiting for tables. Got barmaids attention after half an hour - had one drink at the bar shoulder to shoulder with every other clown After waiting an hour, our table was ready. The same table we had seen sitting empty for the last hour while jammed into the bar area- hard to come back from that first Impression Waiter didn’t seem to know much about the wine nor offer a sommelier to help us. Sushi just average, for the price too you would want to be blown away. Lobster Mac/cheese was good, sashimi truffle had a great taste.. they are the reason it’s getting one star - but wouldn’t waste 2.5hours and over 100 dollar pp dine here again First two empty plates not cleaned off table between dishes.. Empty glasses not cleared. Strange, waiter and dish/glass clearer a seperate person? When we were given the bill, we said we might just wait a bit and finish drinks. The waiter said he would appreciate us singing this bill and he would start up a new one for the next drinks as he was finishing his shift, was approaching 11pm - well, we would have been all done by the end of your shift if the muppets in front of house had have not wait 1hr for the empty table?

Avoid if you're looking to enjoy a meal

By Stacy |

I've never done a TA review before but this meal was so egregious I couldn't not tell other travelers about it. I am from Boston so I have no delusions that I'm a famous person or any desires to become a famous person I just wanted some good seafood and a some nice wine - but apparently if you're searching for either this isn't the place for you as it is merely a selfie and photoshoot venue and food and service is secondary if not an afterthought. The server, who spent less time with us than I typically spend ordering a Starbucks, literally flipped our table in a half hour. Yes, within 30 mins we had all the food on our table (which also how did you even plate it all that fast? Is everything plated in the morning and just sits under hot lamps?) it was drive through service with a heavy price tag (which who cares what you're paying when the food is good and the service enjoyable but no one wants to pay a fortune for Burger King). We were so put off we skipped dessert and they happily scooted us out. It also just seems odd instead of upselling and giving good service for higher checks and better tips you'd flip tables to have smaller checks but more tables? Idk maybe that equation works for them but it did not work for me. If you're looking to enjoy a meal and it takes you longer than a half hour to consume and digest food do not come here.

Wonderful Evening!

By Jeff20182018 |

I definitely recommend Catch LA! The food is fantastic, the service is on point and the view is great! I recommend trying a lot of different dishes as they're made to be shared. There is a vast menu with lots for anyone.

Go for the food and the experience with a relaxed atmosphere

By navins888 |

Out first impression was that the restaurant is beautifully decorated. We found the service to me impeccable, with knowledgeable and friendly servers. The cocktails were unique concoctions with the Meatpacking Manhattan being truly exceptional though one of our party with a taste for heat loved his jalapeño-infused East Coast Kali cocktail. We found the lobster macaroni and the vegetable king roll (King Oyster mushroom) as excellent appetizers while the dinner items Truffle Butter Filet, Crispy Chicken (with root veggies) and Mushroom Spaghetti (wild mushrooms, snow peas, etc.) mesmerizing dishes that left no room for dessert. Go for the food and enjoy the experience to boot!

WOW!!!

By Ken A |

Talk about a scene! Move over Craig’s this is new hottest spot. The crowd mostly young and dressed very L.A. Oh the food excellent and not your normal old boring menu choices. It is really a fun place that will not be a quiet and romantic evening. I think if you have the proper expectations you will enjoy!

Parade of deliciousness

By Kevin W |

The staff was extremely nice and reviewed the menu in detail. My wife is allergic to gluten and the waitress did a great job making sure everything she ate was prepared correctly. They brought the food out continually and we ate one amazing plate after the next. They had the roof open and the weather was perfect. A delicious meal with my family under the stars, incredible atmosphere - we will visit again!!

Very good

By F-F |

We had a great dinner at this restaurant/lounge in LA and had a great time. First I would suggest reserving your table in advance cause it might be super crowded. Reserving the table will let you skip the line, then the service was really good, attentive and professional and the food ( we took mainly seafood dishes ) was really really good. A little expensive but it is worth every penny in my opinion.

Best sushi ever !!

By Meital Shwartzer |

One of our local friends recommend this place. It’s absolutely beautiful with lots of beautiful people. Great music and you will need reservations and still wait. I loved the sushi and the fish ( for 2 ) Very expensive but a great restaurant to visit .

A little disappointing

By Suska |

We came here on a vacation and dining at catch was a must for us however when we got there we were a little disappointed. The service and food were nothing to be excited about, especially the service.I think unless you’re someone with a name, don’t expect a lot.We are from the UK ( London ) and if you go to “celeb hotspot “ you will be treated the exact same even if you’re not a celebrity.Sorry but I wouldn’t return...

Good food, not extraordinary

By Silvita |

After reading the last reviews posted I was expecting terrible food and no, it was not bad, it was not great, either. The oysters were fresh and the tuna sashimi with truffle and caviar was a really interesting composition. Having said that, the food did not justify the prices. Would I need to come back? Not really...

Do It for the Gram, But Be Prepared to Wait... and Wait

By jittery_eric |

This archetypal LA hotspot is packed with beautiful young women pretending to be rich and rich middle-aged men pretending to be young -- along with the usual mix of nightclub sorts cheek by jowl with hapless tourists seeking an “LA experience” and the off chance to eye an A-Lister. If you are no one of particular note, you will be treated as if you have unlimited time and unlimited patience. Not once in dining at Catch was I ever seated within a half hour of my reservation, evidently a near-universal experience shared across reviews. Perhaps Catch should designate reservation times will be honored according to the Alaskan and Hawaiian time zones vs. the Pacific. What’s even more puzzling is that this happens when the restaurant is packed but also in the rare moments when it is largely empty! The most charitable explanation for this strange tradition is to allow guests extra time to perfect their selfies in the entrance hall, but the effect is clear: guests are lucky to have secured a coveted spot (reinforced by bouncers enforcing the list at the street level front door) vs. the restaurant lucky to have paying customers. It is little surprise that while waiting… and waiting most Catch patrons pass the time cocktailing. To increase throughput, some cocktails are pre-mixed, most notably the “Meatpacking Manhattan” which is neither shaken nor stirred, but removed from a refrigerator in a Catch-branded flask and poured into a glass. The effect lacks the theater and bespoke mixologist preparation of a hand-crafted cocktail – more like cracking a Manhattan-flavored White Claw – but the end result is tasty and the block of ice upon which it is poured is nothing short of crystalline. Once seated, ordering at Catch is a Catch-22. This is yet another place where “Chef” requires that guests order all of their food at once. With a broad array of appetizers, small plates, seafood towers, nigiri sushi and rolls, sashimi, skewers, oysters, entrees and sides, estimating the right amount is impossible even for repeat guests who want to try something new. The waitstaff is unable to describe the size of most items beyond “pretty small” with the admonition to order additional dishes, “just in case.” Toss in an extra Cantonese Lobster ($97), Prime Porterhouse for 2 ($140) or go big with the American Waygu Tomahawk ($195) “just in case”? Why not all three? This trend needs to stop (cf. reviews of Redbird and Otium). Not only do cold and hot courses ordered all at once arrive pell-mell, some of them have clearly been prepared ahead of time and simply removed from the refrigerator as well (I’m looking at you, Tartare Trio), belying Chef’s need to have all items ordered at once. You may go away hungry, over-stuffed or just right, but the important thing was that neither Chef nor the staff were inconvenienced. The unfortunate coda to all this rigamarole is the food and grog at Catch overall are quite tasty and the setting is beyond festive with large and small parties alike whooping it up as if we’re in the 10th year of an economic expansion. If Catch could strip away the condescension it would make for a grand night out. Then again, condescension is of course part of the appeal, and the trio of ice princesses at the hostess stand have perfected the art. Eugene Remm and Mark Birnbaum have harnessed the nightclub effect in full flower. Prepare to wait for it, but your Instagram likes will be priceless… and what’s a few hours of your life enjoying pre-mixed cocktails vs. the FOMO of your friends and followers?

Food and Vibes

By Melanie S |

The food was amazing, awesome experience! We started with the tower special( sushi and seafood), then I ordered the grilled Octopus and my soul jumped for joy! Delicious! Also had the lobster Mac and cheese and sweet potatoes! Just perfect! My friends had the bronzino and the Cantonese lobster and their meals were also amazing! I tasted everything on the table! Our waiter LEVI was amazing and kept it real! I didn’t like my drink and he made sure I got something I loved! I loved the set up of the restaurant, the view, the music and the vibes!

Fun place for dinner

By Dr. JZ |

Loads of people and loud. Looks like a place to have fun and taste some very yummy appetisers and dishes. Great service though as dishes were served fast and friendly. Fast-pace ambience.

Great Restaurant, a must try!

By Resort224957 |

My wife and I just returned from our 20th Anniversary trip to California with we started in Napa and drove down to the coast to LA over 10 days. Catch was BY FAR our best meal and best experience of the trip. Each dish was better than the last. From the Catch Roll to the A5 Japanese Wagyu. And the donuts for dessert were just ridiculously good. Our server Ashley helped guide us through the meal perfectly. Rooftop seating was great even on a hot day it was cool up top. Only note of warning is this is not an economy restaurant! Be prepared to spend but for a special occasion it is totally worth every penny.

Don’t waste your time

By alwaysonholiday89 |

We had a booking for 8.30...waited 45 minutes for the table only to give up and go elsewhere. No one came over to us to apologise for the wait, we had to go and ask a couple of times what was going on. Lots of other people were waiting too but there were plenty of empty tables...?! We weren’t the only ones unimpressed by the wait time and lack of communication. The bar staff were efficient and friendly but the hostesses were arrogant and unaccommodating.

LA Scene

By mtjllc |

Went to Catch about a year since our last visit. We were very pleasantly surprised! The scene, the vibe, the food were all amazing. We sat in the terrace and despite it being a chilly evening, we were never the least bit cold - they did a terrific job of placing heaters. Now onto the food... AHHH-MAZING! Literally every dish was delicious. The crispy rice with tuna was divine and is one of my favorites - of anywhere in the world. We crowned the evening with the baked Branzino, their signature dish. It simply doesn’t get any better than this. The wine... We had two bottles of Williams Selyem Pinot Noir which was incredible and highly recommended by our Sommelier. While it added a hefty amount to the check, it was worth it! The Service... The front desk is the only weak spot. Staffed by very friendly people, they were a bit slow on getting people seated. The wait staff was fantastic and very attentive but not overbearing. The Sommelier was terrific. Knowledgeable, friendly and gave me his card on the way out saying he would love to help us the next time we were in. My only warning...this is not an inexpensive night out. Our bill for 4 ppl was 1500. Now, we are foodies and ordered 10 dishes, 2 round of cocktails and two bottles of expensive wine. So keep that in mind do you aren’t shocked when the bill arrives.

Can’t go wrong with the Catch

By John B. |

Can’t go wrong with the Catch ambiance and food. Great seafood items, great people watching, and good service

Gold seems, banana is!!!

By mónica a |

The restaurant is located in a good area, the place is beautiful, we ordered the tasting menu for 2 people and surprisingly some dishes brought odd pieces!! Jjjj. Insufficient quality. The service was exaggeratedly “fast and messy.” Not according to the price. Much to improve!!!

Excellent food and service

By Annielovestravel |

What an entrance when you walk in ! Great atmosphere for sure. But for me it is about the food, which was excellent throughout. We were 6 and shared a number of tasty dishes, and we had an excellent server who gave us lots of great suggestions and was always on the ball. Would highly recommend.

Boom

Amazing setting food and staff some really fab dishes 5* the flambé Crab legs were outstanding and the coconut desert was to die for 👍

Racial Profiling is not Classy

By Kailey D. |

Catch LA a place known for its elegant atmosphere and pleasant service, turned out to be an absolute letdown. I entered Catch LA today wearing my tailored fitted shorts when the apparently Fashion adept hostess halted my entry by calling them baggy. To my shock, I asked her what about them was baggy? To be clear there was no clear signage of dress code presented in the restaurant. The hostess then snidely suggest that I travel to The Beverly Center to purchase a new pair which is two miles away. After our back and forth, she said “ she’ll let it slide this time”. I felt uncomfortable and extremely unwelcome after this incident at a supposedly upper-class restaurant. After reading the other reviews I was not surprised to have experienced this racial profiling as I am a black male; especially after they let a white male in wearing a full tracksuit. It’s safe to say this is definitely not a catch in LA.

Good food, cool vibe

By KSydelle |

Really enjoyed this place; very cool aesthetic. Dress to impress. Delicious cocktails. Branzino was very good.

Taylor the Manager is Amazing!

By Kim S |

Taylor went above and beyond to make our anniversary special. Her bubbly personality and great customer service was really refreshing. Our food was good and the server was attentive. The music and overall restaurant vibe was very enjoyable but it was Taylor who treated us like royalty and really made our night!

Simply Amazing

By Amylfg |

All I can say is amazing! We came on a busy Friday night and had a reservation. We were greeted warmly by a host and sent up the the restaurant. The restaurant’s decor is beautiful with a long hallway resembling an outdoor garden. We checked in and was told to go to the bar for a drink while waiting for our table. We weren’t waiting more than 5 mins when our table was ready. Our server was amazing, very knowledgeable of the menu and was able to guide us as one of the members of our party has a dairy allergy. The food was outstanding, from rolls, to sides, mains, cocktails and of course the dessert. The vegan pistachio cheesecake is phenomenal and completely dairy free. Soooo good. Overall, we all had an amazing experience and highly recommend.

Good, nothing new...

By Joaquin R |

The place is really nice. The problem basically is that its super noisy and service is not that great. The food is good, but nothing that would make you feel like its the best restaurant you’ve ever been to. The dessert is really good.

BEST EXPERIENCE

By Morgan S |

Catch is hands down a place to go for great food, staff, and service! It’s a must for the full LA experience. I can’t say enough how much we loved our experience

delicious!

By Olivia C |

basically sushi tapas style. the food was delicious and tasted so fresh. highly recommend the octopus, salmon carpaccio, and the tartare trio. service was great, only downside was having to wait at the bar for 20 minutes for our reserved table.

Great setting, vibrant and fantastic food

By Jonathan Vincent |

Absolutely fantastic experience from the minute we arrived, staff we’re so friendly and helpful. Our server recommended how many dishes were best suited for our party of four and he was spot on. Food and cocktails amazing, we throughly enjoyed our evening. Thank you

Terrible service

By JoanaGili |

Host at entrance downstairs were nice and polite. The place is beautiful and food was really good. But all this with the cost of getting frustrated and upset with the absolute terrible service. Had to ask for wine menu FOUR TIMES. And all this still without water and menus to choose the food. Took forever to waiter to come and help us. One girl, simple ignored all requests and was all the time standing and chatting by the computer. It was a very frustrated birthday celebration. It clearly is a just touristic kind of place to take some pictures and never come back. Probably why they just don’t care. Obviously poor management. Such a shame!

Great Sunday Brunch

By Rachel Lui |

We arrived at 10am and there were already a lot of people waiting at the garden like amazing roof. Some were tourists and some were locals celebrating birthdays, etc. Food and service are both good. The atmosphere is excellent for a Sunday Brunch.

recommend defenetly

By beherman2013 |

We were absolutely delighted with this restaurant! ✨ The food was simply outstanding — every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was impeccable: attentive, friendly, and very professional, which made our evening truly enjoyable. The atmosphere is cozy, and you can feel the care for the guests. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who appreciates great food and excellent service. 💯👏

Poor service

By TravelandHolidays |

Poor service - drinks didn’t arrive until after the starter and having been chased. Main arrived whilst starters still begin eaten. The wrong pasta was served entirely - only became clear at end of meal when the bill was questioned. It turned out the wrong order had been taken. Waiter then tried to blame the kitchen/ others ? I can’t comprehend how service like this then also requests tip. Shambles, won’t be returning.

Dinner treat

Everything was superb, place is run like a well oiled machine. Food was superb with the beef mignon possibly the best I’ve ever had. Place is pricey but you get what you pay for

Great food, beautiful decor, and the food was bomb!

By Donny L |

Our waiter was very nice and super friendly, but if he would have checked on us just a little more frequently, I would have said it was a perfect night.

Catch LA is the trendy, see and be seen and pay up for it type of restaurant.

By mdashiell |

Catch LA is the trendy, see and be seen and pay up for it type of restaurant. Everything is overpriced, everything. Expect 4 cocktails to put you back at least $70 not including tip. I'm ok shelling out coin if there is value, and you can argue the bar is worth it. The atmosphere is exquisite, especially the entry with the floral canopy. The patio seating is the way to go if you're dining. Sushi was great - just not worth $30 a roll. Lobster Mac & Cheese was not good however. Lobster was fine, it was the mac/cheese that was lacking. Service is meh, not the level attentiveness you'd expect for the price you're paying. But like I wrote above, its all about paying up to see, and be seen here.

Arrogant and class-less

By Satchmo39 |

I waited 55 minutes for my table that I reserved 2 weeks before Some arrogant bouncer asked me not to follow up with reception and just wait at the bar for when my table is ready Atmosphere is loud, ok, full of “professional” girls

Really nice

By Gary T |

First, this is a beautiful roof top restaurant. Second, while the food is excellent, it is pricey. Don't go there on a budget. Third, service was excellent but offset a bit by an out of sync kitchen. To us the standout menu items we tried were the Kobe Beef, Catch Roll, Oysters, Filet, Sweet Potato Gnocchi, and Hit Me Chocolate Cake. Well visit again next time we're in LA.

Fun and great ambiance

By Nelly |

Make your reservations early this place books up fast due to it being a hotspot. Nice bar area and the entry way is a great place for pics with a view. We all had the lobster Mac and cheese and crispy shrimp with broccolini. All were good, lots of lobster in the Mac and cheese. The staff was nice and the bathrooms are super clean. We spent around $150 but all depends on what you get sides are not included with the main dish

Great food , nice atmosphere

By john1969j |

Great food, amazing service, nice atmosphere Our waiter was really helpful with the menu, very attentive One plate delayed ( chef was not happy with the result so had to make it again) and they offered us another for free. At the end I ordered a grey goose which was also offerd for free Truly recommended

Good but posh rooftop restaurant and bar

By Vieltraveller |

Very nice top floor restaurant and bar. The small dishes and cocktails were excellent - yet very pricey. On the other hand, the people at the entrance made us feel like we had to be extra grateful that we were allowed in. That's something I never liked.

Popular spot for the ambiance and decor

By Shanelle |

Came to Catch with my parents and being that they’re living their best boujee lives, we opted for the tasting menu ($115/pp). The one for two people can accommodate three people. Credit cards and reservations accepted. I’d recommend dressing cute to take advantage of the floral decor you see prior to entering the restaurant (note that it’s on the third floor). Valet parking available or you can park in the public garage next door as well. The tasting menu was a nice way to try all of the highlights, and quite tasty. We got the following: - Edamame - generous portion and a healthy start to a truffle-heavy dinner - Pretzel Bread - the bread was warm and the whipped butter went very well with it - Baby Gem Caesar Salad - a bit too heavy on the dressing but I did like how it included avocado - Truffle sashimi - very tasty; the fish melted in our mouths and the sauce was super tasty. This came with 6 pieces. - Catch roll - a signature restaurant dish. This came in a serving of 5 and has a miso-honey sauce that I really liked (although you can still dip it in the soy sauce and wasabi, and they’ll complement each other) - 2 oz of Japanese A5 Wagyu - this comes when the tasting menu is accommodated for 3 people “to make things fair” in the words of our waitress. It was a cool experience where we got to cook our own slice of meat on a hot slab. You can decide how well you want it cooked and can add green onions/mushrooms along side the meat. - Truffle butter filet - this is shared piece of meat, so everyone has to agree on how well it’s cooked. This was a tad on the heavy side due to the sauce but it makes sense how rich it is given the name - Truffle mushroom spaghetti - I liked this a lot; the pasta was soft and well mixed with the truffle sauce - Parmesan truffle fries - very crispy and a generous portion; a great dish to share even if you’re not doing the tasting menu - “Hit Me” Chocolate Cake - this was a fun dish since they drizzle chocolate on top, and it’s their version of a Klondike bar, but with a brownie and salted caramel sauce. It’s good for chocolate lovers.

Great restaurant

Amazing food, service, wine, ambience... must visit! We waited longer for a service due to them being understaffed but manager quickly assisted and sent us extra sushi and desert as well as checked on us often to make sure all was great until the end.

Best described charitably as chaotic.Trendy for for the 20 somethings, but too loud to coverse. Walked out after waiting over an hour to be seated. ⁹

Classic and casual elegance

By MartyHuntsville |

We had to go to the Polo Lounge and it lived up to the history and the hype! We ate at the Bar because it was closed only to guests of the Hotel but we had great and attentive service. The cocktails and Wine selection are very extensive and perfect!! The gin and tonic and the Mezcal cocktails were so good. My wife had the melon salad which was really good and I had the Chicken Parmesan with Angel Hair pasta and it was amazing! Pasta was some of the best I have had

One hour wait even with reservations

By Nona Nureen |

After reading in the media how celebrities love flocking Catch LA, we booked our reservations using the open table application. We came in fact about 10 minutes early. The door lady told us we can wait by the bar for our table to be ready after checking our name and reservation. The bar was really packed and it was difficult to get a drink. I was in the queue for a good 15 minutes until I was served. When we got our drinks we went back to the door lady to ask if our table is ready and she said you can wait near bar or near the smoking room and will be called by the waitress. We saw that some waitress holding a menu was looking around every 15 minutes for customers but how do they know who is who. After 45 minutes my partner had to complain and the door lady said that a group unexpectedly turn up so they had to push everyone’s table reservations behind. One hour later we were seated and obviously started our night with disappointment of the service. The menu options was different from the CATCH Dubai , they did not have their famous miso cod for example. My partner asked for some recommendations and the waiter simply said well you can share the beef that she is having as it is popular so I will just increase the portion ( Japanese Miyazaki Wagyu ). Basically our starter came out last after we finished our main course. When the bill came we realized the waiter had place 5 portions of beef for us. Overall experience, food was ok and service was awful. I think this place is just overrated and overpriced and you can definitely enjoy a better meal with a better service at hotel Roosevelt. I do not recommend CATCH LA.

Don’t go near it.

By Gal Biton |

0 stars would match my experience better. Got to the restaurant and they put us on a table with an open window, without option to close it while it was very cold outside, we asked to be moved in but we got declined since the owner was supposed to be there, and eventually after an argument we’ve been moved to another table. They did not have one of the only fish meals that are available on the menu. Two of the entree’s came first, and took about 5 minutes until the 3rd person received his meal, which arrived cold. The meals were very medium, I ordered the crispy chicken, we also ordered the mushroom spaghetti and the king crab tempura, the crab arrived cold, the other two were simple as anything you can find at the grocery store deli. Way overpriced for what they serve. Once we finished eating we had to wait another 25 minutes until someone came back to us so we can ask for the check. They are using some kind of electronic bill option - my guess is so the waiters would not have to deal with the customer after having such a bad experience. For the finale, we went back to the first level to get back our car, the guy in front told us to go down to the parking to receive it, and literally had to pay them $15 for the valet and all he did was hand us the car keys so WE can drive it back out of the parking garage. I’m sorry for spending $300 tonight, I would rather go have McDonalds around the corner then going there. I know I won’t ever go there again, and make sure no one I know will.

Food was impressive

By Alex Ahmad |

The host was arrogant!!! but when we enter the place is charming, the food was epic, friendly stuff.

Fast food service

By Dan L |

Catch is a nice venue and no different from any other trendy city spot around the world. How ever the food is served way to fast ! This is understandable on a pact sought after Saturday night but we was dining at 9pm on a Wednesday and there was no reservations after. A shame as it just made you feel for the high prices you are being quickly mugged. If people are paying them prices let them enjoy the night.

Over rated

By melanieb69 |

The ambience was a nice experience..nothing to rave about. I just think they have a great hype team for promoting. The food I have had much mich better, but I would definitely say always go for yourself, my taste and experience will be different from mines. otherwise I give it a 3***

Negative 5 stars would have been fitting

By Clarrisa N |

Negative 5 stars would have been fitting As a USA veteran and paying customer, I deserved to be treated with respect and dignity, and the fact that you were not is truly unacceptable. Discrimination of any kind is never justified, and it is especially concerning when it occurs in a public space like a restaurant. After dining and paying for my meal, my friend and I asked if you could take a picture, just like the people before you had done. However, the security personnel at Catch took issue with this and kicked me out of the restaurant. No one should have to endure such appalling treatment while simply trying to enjoy a meal and take a picture to remember the occasion. I hope that you were able to find a more welcoming and inclusive dining experience elsewhere, and that businesses like Catch will take steps to address and eliminate behavior from their staff. The standout members of the team were definitely the Bartender Rachel and Harmony. Rachel took great care of us at the bar before we were seated and was a joy to chat with. Harmony was also fantastic and provided excellent service throughout our meal. Our waitress, Lizzy, was also amazing and gave us some great recommendations for food. The dishes we tried were all delicious and well-prepared. Benjamin, who I assume was a member of the kitchen team, also did an amazing job. However, I do have to mention that my experience was slightly marred by the security personnel. They left a bitter taste in my mouth by being unwelcoming and discriminatory towards my group when we asked to take a picture after paying for our meal.

Unprofessional Management

By Karima O |

From DC visited LA for my birthday. Catch came highly recommended so decided to give it a try. This review is not about the food, service or atmosphere as they were good. This is more about management and their failure to assist me with a stolen brand new phone at their establishment. My cell phone disappeared from our table towards the end of our dinner. The phone was immediately turned off so that find my iphone can't locate it. I called the next morning to speak to a manager, however all calls go to their reservation service. I left a message and no one called me back. Then I stopped in person that afternoon and spoke to a manager (Pedro I believe) who offered to look at the tapes once the general manager gets in at 1pm that afternoon. I gave them all the information they need including the server's name (Don), the time the phone disappeared, table number, etc and I was assured I will get a call back. Nothing. Since then, I called at least 3 times a day and left messages with their reservationists, no call back. I stopped in again on Sunday night, the hostess was very indifferent and said there was no phone found- I highly doubt anyone took the time to look, and no one got back to me about the cameras. They wouldn't even let my friend (who's a senior citizen) use the restroom while I was waiting for someone to assist me saying it's for customers only. I manage a restaurant myself and I get back to folks with issues of this nature within 24hrs at most, nor would I refuse a previous customer the use of the restroom while solving an issue of a stolen item. The way they were unresponsive is extremely unprofessional. It is now almost a week later, and I still have yet to hear from them.

Food ok let down by service

By Crystal97 |

Visited yesterday. Ambience is good. Unfortunately the service was not great. I’ve never been to a restaurant where they just land a dessert menu on you when you’re still eating your main! It felt like they were rushing us to order and get out. The food was ok. We had the lobster Mac and Cheese which was really salty and I think the chef forgot to put any lobster in! We should have mentioned this yesterday as it’s not cheap. We even ordered two portions of it and both were like where’s the lobster ! The grilled octopus was good but again really salty. We ordered a dessert and having just taken one bite our waitress just slammed the bill on the table. Customer service needs a lot of improvement for sure especially for such an expensive restaurant.

It's a hopping place full of LA attitude

By Baccus |

This was my 3rd visit to Cat the 3rd visit to Catch. It has become our Thanksgiving 'tradition'. It did not disappoint and my crew has a high bar. Food is excellent. Appetizer portions can be small offset by the over the top size of the big fish. The Branzino is simply spectacular. Negatives - you cannot bring your own wine. Their wine list is okay but expensive for quality wine. Thanksgiving was cold and rainy and it was a challenge to get the heaters in the right place.

Great Catch!

Unprofessional Service

By ccedano |

I have been a longtime customer and advocate for Catch LA, it is one of my favorite restaurant in LA. This is my go to restaurant when entertaining my guest, dates, and work outings. Unfortunately my experience on July 8, 2020 severely tarnised my respect for the establishment. The most frustrating part about the entire situation is that it could have been avoided with better accountability and service from our waiter (Asian man with glasses, we tired to ask for his name but we got no response) and his manager Tim who wouldn't tell us his last name. We order our meal for my 3 guest and myself. We ordered steaks, lobster Mac, waygu appetizers, spaghetti, it was enough food for everyone at the table to enjoy. The food started to come out after waiting a while but we were still missing our steaks. We decided to order some more spaghetti while we waited. Approximately 40 mins later I proceed to ask about the spaghetti I ordered after I placed my initial order almost a hour and half before. One of my guest reminded me about the initial order that included the steaks that we never received at the point. (Mind you one of my guest order a steak medium rare which should take more that 30 mins to cook even if the kitchen is backed up.) I asked our waiter about our steaks, he went off and fumbled back sometime later claiming our steaks were never put on the order. We ask for a manager and Tim showed up to offer assistance to the situation but acted more like excellerent adding fuel to the fire with his nonchalant rude attitude. After some unnecessary back and forth with Tim we decided to ask for our check because of the disrespect we received from Tim and the waiter. Our check comes and it includes everything we order and some (Brocolini we never ordered). The check included the steaks that we "never ordered". How are we expected to pay for the steaks that we never recieved and this reveled that the staff lied to us about the order in the first place which was extremely frustrating and disheartening. How does the Catch LA have staff that would treat their loyal compatriants like this. I hope you receive this message with respect and understanding. Thank You.

LA must try!

By Katrine C |

I have been living in LA for the summer and took my friend who was visiting from the midwest for a "splurge evening". Although this is a pricey restaurant it was worth every penny! The servers are very knowledgeable about the menu and have great suggestions. Everything is to share, which makes the experience even better! Great for a date night or a large group!

Worth our trip

By Trinh V |

One word: Phenomenal! I've been dying to go to Catch for the longest and it did not disappoint! Seriously it was phenomenal down to every little detail. The service, the food, the environment, and cleanliness. The entrance decor literally took up 15 minutes of our time because we had to take numerous pictures. We didn’t have any issues with our reservation besides she asked us to move it up an hour earlier so they could accommodate us. We didn’t have to wait like some of the reviews I read so that was a plus! Our server was outstanding! He was knowledgeable, attentive, and very kind! I forgot his name but we had numerous servers bring us our food with an upbeat smile. Food: -Catch Roll (5/5): I can totally see why this is one of the most popular items! It tasted so fresh and delicious! I love that they sear the roll right in front of you with their torch. -Lobster Avocado Roll (3/5): I didn't expect this roll to come out cold. It was definitely not what I wanted or expected. I wasn't a fan of this. -Hellfire Roll (4/5): Yum this roll was my second fav roll. -Lobster Mac & Cheese (4/5): Surprisingly this Mac and cheese was very light! It didn't have the same texture as your normal Mac and cheese. -Mushroom Spaghetti (5/5): Hands down the best mushroom spaghetti I have ever tried! The sauce was made to perfection. All of my friends even agreed that this was their favorite dish as well! -Crispy Shrimp (5/5): Delicious and appetizing crispy shrimp lathered in spicy mayo. It was crisped to perfection. -Crispy Brussels Sprouts (4/5): So tasty and delicious! Absolutely loved the experience and everything about it. Will definitely be returning when I come back to LA!

A wonderful experience at a well-known restaurant

By JoaninFrance |

This place has been recommended to us many times and we finally made it there for an early dinner. It certainly deserves all the praise it has gotten. It is a delight to the eye to begin with and the service is super. While cocktails and wines are quite pricey, the food is not and it is excellent. One in our group enjoyed the lobster mac and cheese and the other two of us the fabulous branzino, We're so happy we finally got to this place and were able to get a reservation. Hope to get back soon!

Holiday Meal at Catch

By Strikey02 |

First impressions were great as the restaurant looks fantastic although not the restaurant to be at if you want a more quiet intimate meal as the vibe is quite loud. Despite booking in advance our table was not ready and we were suggested to go to the bar area which frankly seems a way of getting people to pay more money out on cocktails which although nice tasting is frustrating. Overall the food was fairly hit and miss with some good and average to poor dishes in our view. The service was good but we would not visit the restaurant again if we were in the area.

Very nice experience

Good food, great vibe

By DClikestotravel |

Choose Catch for splurge dinner during recent vacation. The place is a real scene with lots of pretty folk taking pics for Instagram - perfect for tourist to feel LA vibe (probably with lots of other tourists). Food we had was generally very good - standout being the spicy shrimp, chicken bao and vegetable rolls all for starter. Snapper fillets for main were very good but the mash was so-so. Service was generally good, only quibble was as soon as said not having desert we were presented with bill (not asked for) and still had 1/2 bottle of wine to finish. It is pretty expensive but great food and scene.

CATCH it if you can!

By Stephanie E |

Wow! We loved this restaurant. The decor was unbelievable and the food and service were impeccable. We will definitely be back next time we visit LA! We ordered several dishes; crispy shrimp, brussel sprouts, lettuce cups, skewers and even a deconstructed strawberry shortcake for dessert and EVERYTHING was top notch and delicious!

Summary

By Lizeth R |

The food was great. Small portions of course. The drinks were pretty good for the most part. The server was kind and helpful. The outdoor patio seemed a little dirty but it is outside. The food plated were a little rushed off of us. Overall, cute and great for a celebration.

Sister Drinks and Meal

By Alexandra C |

My sister and I were visiting LA from London with work and had said all along we were most looking forward forward to visiting Catch. We were not disappointed. Visually stunning place, buzzing atmosphere and great selection of food and drink. We had lovely cocktails and treated ourselves to seafood tower special, which was a bit different to the one on the menu. We didn't come here on a budget and wouldn't recommend anyone does either if you want to experience it at its best. Perfect for a special occasion. Service was a little bit hostile at the beginning, as are some upmarket establishments we had to wait 40 mins until our table was ready despite pre booking and no apologies were made. I wasn't actually surprised by this based on their initial attitude. Catch don't forget service is crucial no matter what the decor or menu is. All things considered would return but more places to try in LA first

Disappointed; way over rated

By Greg B |

Having heard so much hype, and tried to book reservations many times over the past year, I had high expectations. But overall, I thought the food was just so so (or even bad), although there were some highlights. But for the price, so so is not good enough. First, the atmosphere is great. Very romantic and festive (not to mention people watching as there is a young crowd with everyone dressed to the nines). And our waiter was excellent both in terms of advice, service and friendliness. However, we did find our water glasses not promptly filled (a big mistake for any high end restaurant). And they do rush the food to get you in and out. As for the food, the presentation of every dish was five star, but the taste was all over the place. Some things were really good, and others really off. The crispy shrimp (a popcorn shrimp) was excellent, although I have had similar dishes for half the price at many other restaurants. The meatballs appetizer, which I gathered was a signature dish, was forgettable (wish I had not ordered it). The octopus appetizer was equally uninspiring. Mostly fried potatoes with some octopus, and the octopus was nothing special (and I get octopus every time I see it on a menu). We tried two sushi rolls. One, their signature Catch Roll, was disgusting. They use a kitchen butane torch at the table to sear the salmon. Great presentation, but all I tasted and smelled was the butane from the torch. Even after five minutes. The roll was probably better tasting if it had not had that butane smell and taste. The second roll, the MRC, was pretty good. For entrees, the roasted branzino was excellent. Definitely recommend it. And for dessert, the deconstructed strawberry shortcake was amazing. Do not go to Catch and not order it. Overall, I am glad we gave it a try, but its not a place I would go back to, or could recommend (others I spoke to since our visit had the same thing to say).

exceeded expectations!

Went for Saturday brunch. Had reservations. Checked in downstairs and given directions to get upstairs. Awesome rooftop views and was seated immediately. Knowledgeable servers. Started with the Catch roll. It was great! I had the steak and eggs. Steak cooked to perfection with chimichurri sauce and perfect sunny side up eggs. Also had the grilled jumbo shrimp. So much flavor. Some of the best shrimp i’ve eaten. Ended the meal with the Hit Me cake. Very cool presentation and tasted even better! We will be back!

Rude

By Asia Marie |

We made reservations a week in advance to go have dinner at this restaurant and when we arrived the man that was there would not let us up because apparently they made an error on our reservations and the reservation was for two instead of three. I guess because it was BET weekend they couldn’t help us or accommodate us because we are not celebrities. He was very rude and basically told us to leave because he wasn’t going to seat us. I wasn’t even able to try the food or go inside and see anything and we had reservations very disappointing. Not to mention we took an Uber to this restaurant all the way from Orange County to arrive there and not be seated for dinner. It was really awful.

Good food but terrible service

By DC girl |

We were excited as locals had been recommending it on our trip to LA. The restaurant has a nice vibe, but I wasn't blown away (some cheap decorations and furniture for being a 'sceny' spot). The food was quite good, we got the surf and turf roll which was excellent, the octopus was good, but the branzino was a bit underwhelming for the $42 price for a filet. I ordered a $23 glass of sancerre and the water literally plopped it on my table without a single word. It wasn't busy, but the restaurant wasn't full and it didn't seem like they were understaffed that evening (5 hostesses, and in our section there were 3 waiters and 2 bussers/runners). Our waiter barely talked to us after initially being seated. We didn't feel very appreciated. Not sure if we'd come back, though again, the food wasn't bad at all.

Amazing rooftop, great views

By GlobalFoodReviewer |

Ate here recently and the food was amazing. The ambience was brilliant, the service was prompt and it was a great place to be. The rooftop had amazing views. Special mention to Taylor who was great and Loki who was fantastic. Put this on your list of places to eat.

Worst service aver

By Filippo Raspanti |

Rudest service ever. After just a few minutes waiting, one of the girls took us to a table and gave us the menus. We didn’t even have the time to look at the menu and another very rude waitress came asking “who sat you here?” and made us leave, not even saying sorry, to let another couple sit. The first girl came back and gave us another table, in fact in a crowder area. She was all sorry, but nothing more. They made a mistake but really did nothing to make up for it. The problem is not the misake itself, but in the really rude and grumpy ways of the waitress, as she turned to us as if we decided to sit there by ourselves. After that we waited for a long time to order and to receive the cocktails (20minutes) and the food. We took five dishes in total, they were supposed to come all together but we waited a whole hour to receive the wagyu gyoza. I must say the whole dinner experience was ruined by the horrible ways of the waitress and the lack of real attention from the other members of the staff. The food was really good, though.

If you are going to enjoy

By mags19591911 |

If you are going to enjoy a long, leisurely, social meal, this is not the place for you. If you want to eat, drink and be out in less than an hour this is the place for you. From ordering the food to the waiter clearing away the plate... approx 45 mins... the music is loud and fast like the waitress/waiters. The food is average.. you are paying for the experience, which you could probably also get at a local high school, everyone is to cool for school. Stick to Mccy D or Nando’s for a quarter of the price.

Catch LA vibes

By Minoolifediary |

One of the cool and high end restaurants in LA is Catch LA. It is pretty pricy but totally worth it. Make sure you have reservations a few days before. Their brunch is also really nice too. Their Bronzino fish is out of this world, specially the rice that comes with it. You have to try that, it won’t disappoint for sure. Their crispy rice as an appetizer is also really good. For drinks I’ve heard a lot about their “ one too many” but didn’t try it this time, I tried the detox which had tequila and I loved it. I also heard a lot about their Tornado sushi role but they were not making it anymore, it could be seasonal so ask for it if you’re into sushi. For dessert I tried the carnival which is a wheel of donuts and the fillings come with it and you actually get to fill them with vanilla, raspberry or caramel which was the fun part. Overall it’s perfect for a date night.

A Friend’s Birthday..

Catch LA is gorgeous. The floral entrance is very pretty. I ordered ONE wheat bread with avocado spread on top for $19. 😭 Ridiculous price for just one slice of bread. However, Catch LA was on my list of restaurants to visit. Would I eat there again, probably not. The bar closed after brunch, so we walked to Sur so we could continue drinking & celebrate one of my friend’s birthday. Sur is such a pretty restaurant. Love their overly top chandelier and lavender chairs.. Sur price for drinks was definitely more inexpensive than Catch LA and just as strong as Catch LA drinks. Two very lit restaurant full of vibrant people.

You must visit!

By JBTRAVELS |

This has been on my restaurant bucket list for a while and I'm so glad we got a reservation! We visited as 3 couples and near enough ordered one of everything (sometimes two of things). The nigiri was the best I have ever eaten, and the crispy shrimp was out of this world! We all said that it was the best meal we have ever had. We have agreed if we are to visit the US again to eat at one of their locations! highly recommend for a foodie experience!

Awful

By Victoria W |

Worst restaurant I have visited after a month in LA. Stuck in 1995. Food was average but ambience terrible. Toilets flooded none of the staff cared. Hostess too busy trying to become a catwalk model. So may better places in the area

Great food and service!

By camila p |

Super loose place, rooftop, beautiful and very nice!! We had an amazing night, besides the food being wonderful we were grateful for the service of Gabi and Doc!! They made this experience get into the top 5 of our family! We would come back several times!!

First time

By Sandra S |

Thought it would be "snooty", but no. Even from the Valet waving me into the spot to both downstairs and upstairs receptionists, very warm and welcoming. Our waiter so friendly and knowledgeable. Then the food - so amazing, and I am a chef, so picky. The view, the ambiance top notch. Was pleasantly surprised.

Come for some amazing seafood and a True LA rooftop experience!

By Victor B |

This is a true LA experience in every sense of the word. Upscale, casual/chic, great drinks/wine, incredible food quality, great service and (I have to say it), ridiculously expensive. It’s the place to impress a date and show them money is no object for a great time. I would expect to see celebs here, but most likely it will just be the LA elite, and/or their adult kids. It’s heavy on seafood which is fantastic, but they do have some nice beef skewers and crispy chicken. Desert is the bomb. VictorB

Holiday Treat

By jah1959 |

What a delight, we booked well in advance of our vacation and it was a real pleasure to dine at one of LA’s coolest restaurants. Expensive but not out of the park. Food and service top notch, our waiter was friendly, helpful and knowledgable. The food didn’t disappoint.

Must do dining experience for an insta perfect evening

By Jennie S |

Beautifully decorated restaurant fit for any celebrity or influencer. The restaurant has a very cool vibe- and it feels as though you have to dress to impress. Food was fantastic!! Shared around 10 dishes for 4 people and it was the perfect amount. The main dishes are very expensive so we avoided those. Highlight is the popcorn shrimp and lobster mac and cheese. Would definitely return for some celeb spotting and all round great LA vibes.

Anniversary Dinner

By GregBrownjr |

My wife and I went here to celebrate our anniversary and from the time we booked to the time w left was nothing but great service. We arrived and they instructed us to get onto the elevator and go to 'The room' floor where we checked-in. After checking, we wait about 10-15 mins and the we were seated. Freddie was our service and he was probably the best server I've ever had. He knew the menu like the back of his hand and he was very personable, which made our experience even better. We order the catch roll for an appetizer, which I highly recommend, if you like sushi. I ordered the wild-caught snapper and my wife, the mushroom spaghetti and both meals were to die for. Our biggest highlight of the night not only was our server, but how the ambiance of the restaurant is. It's kind of like a restaurant and a lounge combined because they are also playing music. I highly recommend this restaurant and will return if I ever get the chance to. *P.S. Ask to be placed in Freddie's section, if possible LOL.

Amazing

By psetna |

Amazing experience. The food was amazing, and the service impeccable. The branzino was to die for!! And we ended the meal with some divine chocolate dessert!

What a place!!

By LALALOVE L |

Amazing ambiance since the minute you walk in. The bar is busy and fun. The kitchen is glassed where you can see the artists at work. The food was amazing. The filet was perfection. The lobster mac and cheese- delicious and the shrimp appetizer too. The drinks were great too. I cannot say enough. Would go back. It was expensive but worth every penny. It's an experience.

terrible

By jaimeroxy |

called to ask if i can bring my dog outside, extremely rude "woman" on the line and could not even allow me to sit outside with him on a patio. she even hung up the phone without saying anything. really rude and unprofessional.

Avoid.

By Is |

Do not go here no matter what. Avoid it. It was a waste of money. The mushroom spaghetti was alright but everything else was horrible. Service was very bad. I had to ask the waiters a few times to get something. Everyone was rude and not accommodating. They were all extremely annoying about masks and covid. I get it they're being careful but if someone is coming there spending a fortune (that the business doesn't even deserve), I should at least be able to have one photo of the celebration we were there for. They won't take a photo of you so take a selfie stick or something if you want a group photo at this place if you actually end up going. They say they can't touch your phone. But I guess they can touch the plate or cup you touched? No logical sense. Another thing, I had to spoil the surprise for my friend by telling the waiter in front of her, to write on the dessert. Note that I had said it several times to them before we sat down so my friend doesn't know about it. The entrance is beautiful but it's a waste since you can't take a normal picture without having the employees and security guard harassing you and staring into your soul as you take that photo. One of the managers was very annoying when I wanted to take off my mask (with no one around) to take a single photo. Are you serious? Who am I harming? It's an open space and my mask is off for five seconds. This same manager touched my back to say "Keep your mask on." Why did he touch me? That's safe? People need to relax and stop making everyone's experience horrible. I've been to many restaurants during covid. Not once have I had such a horrible experience. I will never go back there, even after covid, nor will I recommend for anyone to go there. Only plus was the food. But other restaurants have amazing food too with amazing service.

Looking for a new dining experience?

By 80sMan |

If you are looking to try a rooftop restaurant for a new dining experience, Catch is the place to go. Beautiful view, tastefully decorated, excellent food, and great service. At our table, we ordered a number of small dishes and shared them family style. Everything was delicious.

Great food

By Darren L |

First of all, the food here was great. I enjoyed almost all the dishes the waitress recommended. However, the downside was, and by no fault of the restaurant, I am spoiled by the culinary experience in Vancouver. I felt that while great, Catch LA was not mind blowing nor was it priced attractive enough to provide clear value with something similar where I am local.

Great food but disappointing service

By Hekmat B |

I made a reservation for dinner at this a restaurant on February 1, a party of six, seated at somewhat of a uncomfortable table, but I believe that is the style of the restaurant, greeted by average service and ordered a bottle of white wine to match the meal. The waiter broke the cork and instead of changing the bottle. Came back much later while we are in the middle of the meal with the bottle strained in a glass decanter that can not be cooled or chilled. I have never see this happen in a high end restaurant before. And when I disagreed with this solution he returned much later with a female manager who has a very bad attitude. She did not change the bottle , cancelled it and offered us nothing else and really gave us a bad treatment. Then comes back that will have to change waiters. We did not do any thing to deserve this and with over 100 dollars a person dinner. I expected much better care and service. There was no need to behave this poorly and change the waiter. So we all were stunned and gave a very bad taste to the whole dinner experience. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the food that I feel is excellent. But some one needs to know what they may encounter. The plates were not changed with course changes. And the silverware were not changed either. No one offeres white wine with broken cork bits that you can not have cooled throughout your meal.

Beautiful Rooftop Restaurant and Bar

By Carleita M |

My girlfriends and I had brunch at Catch LA. The restaurant/bar is beautiful and is located in West Hollywood. Great ambience. The restaurant offered a nice selection of entrees including vegan and gluten free entrees. We enjoyed our entrees (salad, burger/fries, avocado toast, white egg omelette and truffle french fries) Prices are reasonable. Service was good. I would definitely recommend a visit to Catch LA for an enjoyable dining experience.

NEVER DISAPPOINTED AND ALWAYS LEAVE STUFFED AND SATISFIED!!!

By Carol Lu |

As always CATCH LA NEVER disappoints! As soon as we got there we were greated by the beautiful Jenna and she sat us promptly. We started with the Albacore Truffle Nagiri, then went for the King Crab Handrolls (which are my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!), we mixed it up and got two rolls, the MRC and the CATCH rolls, both UNBELIEVABLY delicious!, we moved on to the King Crab tempura, then to the soft shell crab sliders, a plate of Toro, Hamachi, Unagi and Salmon Nagiri followed, then we had the Crunchy Rice Cakes, then since its my favorite, another serving of the King Crab Handrolls, next we had the Scallop Gnocchi, Wagyu Gyoza, Grilled Spanish Octopus and to top it off our favorite dessert of all time the HIT ME cake!!! We come in often since CATCH LA is one of our favorte restaurants of all time and the service is top notch!!!

Worst dining experience of my life

By Anonymous |

Made reservations for 8 pm on a Thursday night just to stand outside in a line for an hour and a half like second class citizens. Meanwhile people were pulling up in sports cars and jumping the line without a reservation. Sorry, my Lamborghini is in the shop. McDonalds has better service than this. It also has better food. This was the worst dining experience of my life. Would give negative stars if I could.

Encore! Amazing Experience

By Anthony |

We came to celebrate our 7 year anniversary and it's the perfect spot for a romantic night in an amazing atmosphere, with great food, and great service. We came on a Monday, we had reservations and they were flexible to push back the time since we were running late. We waited for no more than 10 minutes upon arrival and off we were. Would come here again and again and again.

Spectacular Sweet 16

By rcford2 |

I dropped my daughter and her 6 girlfriends off for a special dinner to celebrate her 16th. They had the most amazing experience -- friendly and attentive staff, great seat on the outdoor deck. (this was good because it was really noisy inside with the large bar and it being a Saturday night). The food was incredible and everything they ordered they raved about. I arrived at the end of dinner & went to the table to pay -- everything was paid electronically from there. No need to wait for the server to take and return the credit card -- self check out was super efficient! Would highly recommend for a special occasion or anyone looking for a great LA dining experience

Popular, Instagram-friendly seafood restaurant

By Shanelle |

Popular seafood-focused restaurant with good photo ops. Had a reservation for four on a Thursday at 7:45, but we couldn’t get seated until our entire party was present. Metered street parking or valet is available. You check in with the hostess on the bottom, take the elevator to the third floor, and then check in again at the restaurant. Unfortunately it was raining when we went, otherwise, I would’ve taken so many photos in the hallway. There are hanging lights where many an aesthetic Instagram photo has been taken with some variation of the caption “catch of the day”/“catch me if you can”/“catch me in LA”. Food wise, it’s a pricey spot but I liked everything we got (see brief summary below). We did get seated in a booth where there was a roof leak, but once we notified an employee, we did get moved to a different table fairly promptly. Gendered bathrooms are available in the back left. Employees were helpful, and I did like our waitress. Credit cards accepted and they bring the machine to your table at the end of your meal. You order everything upfront and dishes are served family style. Spinach artichoke salad - I liked the yuzu in the dressing, and the mushrooms were thinly sliced, so there was overall a good texture. Catch roll - this roll gets lit on fire, so get your phone out. It was slightly sweet, and a standard order. Hellfire roll - I preferred this over the catch roll flavor-wise, as it had freshness through the jicama and had a small hint of spice through the tuna. Crispy brussel sprouts - standard side; these are dairy-free. Parmesan truffle fries - they give you a lot, and I’d definitely get an order for the table. Filet skewers - these come 2 in an order; the meat was very tender and came with a peanuty dip. Lobster mac & cheese - smaller in portion, but it’s filling.

Poor Customer Service

By mikew2222 |

My choice for my Father's Day dinner with my family was Catch LA. It was my first time dining there. The restaurant had a peaceful atmosphere, good service, but the food we thought would be better but it was ok. The surprise to me was when the waiter reached for my appetizer dish an entire glass of water spilled all over me that caused a seen cleaning as employees rushed to help dry up the water. We assumed the gentleman wearing the light green glasses was the manager or someone who was in charge of the restaurant as he constantly walked around the restaurant checking things out. To our amazement not one Host, maître d' or manager from the restaurant came to our table to apologize or to ask if everything was ok. In every restaurant when u see something like this happens someone from the restaurant "ALWAYS approach and speak to the guest. To make matters worse while we're eating our dessert the waiter brings over cookies saying they were compliments of the restaurant for the water that was spilled on me. NOT A GOOD LOOK. That was our first and last time dinning there.

“Manager is too busy for you”

By Fernando C |

Didn't honor my reservation because I was one literal minute over the reserved time. I've visited many times and this issue has become worse with time. I don't understand why they accept reservations in Opentable at 10pm if they expect you to be there way before then (multiple SMS reminders at 9:20 telling me my table was ready). After driving an hour to get there the security person who told us his name was Hugo (and had zero customer service skills) rudely refused to let us even take the elevator to negotiate or explain something. We asked for a supervisor and after waiting in that lobby for 20min he said "Tim" (the manager) was "too busy to even hear your complain" and escorted us out. Never again. What a shame all the recommendations and money Ive spent there. They have too much money to care about yours!

Special dinner to remember a good friend

By PhiladelphiaPhillip |

A Group of family and friends got together to celebrate the life and legacy of a good friend who passed away earlier in the year. We were in a private rooftop room and the service was impeccable. Some of the starters were delicious, like the mini lobster rolls, and some not so good like the faux crab cakes [yuck]. The sushi was good as was the spicy fried shrimp, but not too crazy about the quinoa and kale and chicken salad. But the place redeemed themselves with the ribeye and sunny side up eggs [OMG], truffle fries and the Klondike stacked chocolate iceream, brownie decadence……forgot what the actual name was but good grief you have to get this. As much as I liked it just couldn’t quite give it a 5, but would definitely go back again and again.

Good but won't come back

By Tchoupi |

Good food but the way you are welcome and the service doesn't make you feel good. We are French and we're not used to such a poor service. We arrived 5 minutes late and the guy at the entrance told us our table has been given to someone else with a tone we really didn't appreciate. 1 minute later, the other guy told us that finally they had a table for us, as if we should have felt forever thankful for being able to eat in this restaurant. The dishes don't arrive at the same time so nobody eats together. You have almost nothing to eat in your plate and it's very expensive. The food is good but that's not enough to make us come back. We didn't know catch before tonight and we will forget it very quickly. Other places in L.A. offer very good food and make you feel welcome.

By REDMEN92 |

I don’t have too many “Excellent” reviews of restaurants, but CATCH LA deserves it: Ambiance 10/10 (rooftop chic with great music) Food 10/10 (sushi, chicken lettuce cups, fish tacos, steak kabobs - there is something for everyone). Service 10/10 (Oliver and team were great) Price: Given the other ratings, it doesn’t really matter at this point. Expensive but worth it. (If I have a pick a negative, which is really don’t, like most fancy places, your reservation time is more of a check in time. They want you hang at the bar, while they “get your table ready”. We sat about 20 mins after our reservation, but really didn’t mind) THE CARNIVAL DESSERT IS A MUST. I don’t know what they put in those donuts, but trust me; it’s worth the extra hour at the gym to enjoy them. Can’t say enough about this place: it’s worth all the crazy LA traffic to drive from near and far. Enjoy - I can’t see how you wouldn’t love it !

The whole experience was an amazing, Experience!

By alisaj_12 |

The least impressive aspect is met at arrival. In a small lobby, seems like an office building, you are escorted into an elevator. When the doors open you instantly know you are someplace special. The decor, lighting, music and mood is elegant and modern, vibrant and upscale. Service is immediate and professional, and they were very very busy. Seating is available indoors or out, and is climate controlled to the perfect temp regardless of where you sit, but outdoors provides a beautiful sunset reflection on the architecture around you. The food is beyond description. I dined with a small group and had the pleasure of sharing numerous dishes. Every single one was fabulous and perfectly prepared and plated. The Seafood Tower (we got the big one; which is off menu) was just over the top amazing. The tartar trio was my least favorite but the Mango lobster roll, spicy scallop, Albacore Nigiri, grilled octopus and King crab legs were delicious,as were the brussel sprouts! unique and truly special! I'm not a fan of cooked fish but those dining with me enjoyed their mahi mahi and swordfish very much. We all shared a Pinot Noir, I'm not usually a fan but the 2016 The Calling was perfect. Believe it or not we had it in us to share a Carnival, which was fun, and those little cinnamon donut balls were good, but not a highlight... the hit me Chocolate cake was a highlight however, just be sure you get a lot of spoons for sharing! Away from the parking craziness out front, just around the corner, is non valet, public parking. After a meal like that the short walk was welcomed. A must dining experience!!

2nd Visit - not as impressive as 2 years ago

By Elizabeth M |

We took our daughters here in 2018 and got a reservation for my bday when we took my son this month. It’s a fun vibe but we sat on plastic covered porch side - not as nice as other side. The whole roasted Branzino was amazing, waitress was knowledgeable and attentive. A sushi dish was very fishy and we didn’t finish eating it and let server know. She didn’t comp us even though we spent almost $1000 on our dinner and no complimentary dessert for me. This is very unusual- we think Catch LA thinks more highly of itself than it should. Also women’s restroom was not working for an hour and plumber had to be called in 🙄. Not what you want to see

Good Ambience, Average Food

By Jacqui H |

Catch has been on my list for a while. Living here/visiting whatever the case, the place is hyped up to the max but it's kind of a restaurant you just need to tick off your list. I booked a few weeks in advance to get a Saturday night, other days/nights are pretty ok, but Saturday evening spaces fill up fast. We had a 7.30pm reservation, but were running late, and they were really great and accommodated a later time. When we got there we were quickly seated outside with a view and pretty rooftop vibes. Our server was pretty good and recommended the Sesame Seared Salmon and East Coast Kali for a drink, so we got that along with Parmesan Truffle Fries, Salmon A La Plancha & an Old Fashioned. Sesame Seared Salmon ($25) - I liked the mix of Yuzu soy, hot sesame olive oil, toasted sesame seeds, ginger, chives. It was tasty. Parmesan Truffle Fries ($17) - The fries had the perfect crisp & were so delicious . Very, very good. Salmon A La Plancha ($37) - A little bit plain in comparison and not that memorable. East Coast Kali & Old Fashioned ($20ea) - The Old Fashioned was ok, but the real deal was the delish jalapeño infused East Coast Kali cocktail which had an actual kick of spice, it was awesome. Quantity 3/5 - Decent portion sizes. Ambience 5/5 - Catch is all about the ambience - it's a fact. Service 4/5 - Our server was friendly and helpful. Taste - 3/5 - Food is good but not memorable, in terms of pricing would expect a bit more from the food. Valet - $15. Some Tips: Good for Special Occasions, Date Nights/Days, Catch-ups or Brunch - WeHo vibes Smart Casual - but it is dressy ppl Reservations Only - Book in advance through OpenTable - especially if you want Saturday evening Overall as I imagined, this place is ambience and insta-worthy pics galore and definitely an LA scene must-do. But not sure that I would be rushing to visit here again anytime soon. It's probably good to take out-of-towners but only if I can be bothered to, otherwise I'd take them somewhere else. Ambience is great, but it would be even better if the food was too.

Sunday Brunch

By T.Charisma |

We opted for brunch because we thought the ambiance would be nice and the traffic would be less intense . We arrived on time for our reservation only to wait an additional 40 minutes to be seated . Our food was delish .We waited a while for a lobster roll we never received and were charged for .Our waitress lied to our faces on more than one occasion . Food is good ,vibes were great ,decor is cool and trendy but service needs improvement .

Trendy

By MJ215 |

We were in LA for my birthday and everyone recommended going to Catch... I tried to get a reservation with no luck. Luckily my boyfriend surprised me and made reservations a week before we got to LA... so definitely make reservations. The flower hallway is an Instagram dream, everyone waiting to be seated is taking pics. Once inside it’s ok, dark and quite noisy... but still nice and it’s said to be a place to catch celebrity sitings. They have raised servers in the middle of each table but it didn’t serve a great purpose. The food was ok, we enjoyed it BUT we had been to several restaurants in LA that week that we loved more. I’m glad I went, the food was over priced. I’m glad i got to go, I’d probably go back if in LA again but more so for the atmosphere because the food didn’t wow me.

NOT RECOMMENDED!

By Pouya S |

It's messed up! We made a reservation 2 weeks prior for Saturday night! And we were very excited to come but as soon as we got here by the rooftop the attitude started with leaving us on the table with dark and no candles! Server came by 15 min after we got here and we asked them it's our anniversary as we requested can you move our table? He was nice and he's like I'll check with those girls in front! After 20 min he said I don't have any table! I personally went and check there were 6 empty table (it's 11) and now we have been here for 1 hour! Finally I asked the manager to see our request! He came after 1:20 min he's like your dinner is here and I won't be able to move you since your food is here! (As soon as our food got to the table manager walked t our table) He's like we can't move you now! I said they just brought the food and we didn't touch it! He is like I don't have table! What? He just said your dinner is here and I can't move you now, we don't have table even though I saw they had 6 empty table! They have some unprofessional managers on the house and so disrespectful! Imagin on your anniversary night people give you such an attitude! What would you do??? I won't come back here ever! DONT RECOMMENDED! SO OVER PRICE FOR DISRESPECTING! Even for free I won't recommend! ( environment beautiful but such an a***** Host) Racism and discrimination all the way!!!! NOT RECOMMENDED!

Overrated and using Covid-19 in the wrong way

By Annan069 |

We were excited to get a reservation for this restaurant as it does come up as one of the top restaurants in LA. My husband and I arrived 10 minutes before our daughter and we were not allowed to go to our table before she had arrived so we had to stand outside and wait. The doorguy told us it was because of Covid-19 which does not make any sense to us. The second thing they said which made us wonder was that we could only have the table for 90 minutes because of Covid-19? One should think that having the same guests for a longer time would reduce the risk of Covid-19 instead of changing guests every 90 minutes. Many restaurants give you a time limit and I am fine with that and understand it, but don´t use Covid-19 as an excuse. Also a 2 hour limit should be the minimum which most restaurants would have if they have a time limit. Particulary when it is a more expensive restaurant. The service were not so good and we had to wait a long time to be served. The staff said that they could not serve us the water because of covid-19 so we had to serve ourselves. This does not make any sense either? They have already touched the bottles so what would the increased risk be if they poured the water into our glasses. In general I felt that they are using Covid-19 in a strange way. About the food, I loved the crispy shrimp but the presentation was so simple. I expected more from a restaurant this expensive.

Please do not waste your money

By River H |

What a complete disappointment and waste of money this restaurant (?) was. Cold small portions served with more attitude than flavor. Three in our party and two were served 5 minutes before the last. Extremely distorted pricing! stay away from the Crab Tempura, unless you're willing to spend $36.00 for something that fails to meet the quality of Ponko Chicken. Park your car your self, because after the $15.00 valet charge, you'll be instructed to get back on the elevator to go down to the parking garage to retrieve your car yourself..... After $275.00 + $15.00 parking we couldn't wait to get back to our hotel for snacks...

If you want mediocre food and an hour wait for a table when you have a reservation, Catch is the place for you

By m_b_c14 |

My wife really wanted to dine here so we did on a recent visit to LA but we both left incredibly underwhelmed and regretful having chosen Catch over another restaurant. The sushi is average, the service is slapdash and the front of house think they are guarding access to a nuclear missile!

Quintessential LA, but really great food

By ashley |

This is a restaurant where people go to see and be seen, which as an East Coaster I found incredibly obnoxious. We went as a party of 4 on a Tuesday for my best friend's birthday (her pick), and though we had a reservation, were told to wait at the bar until a table became available. We worked our way over to the bar, where there were no available seats or even standing space really (on a Tuesday!) and ended up back by the hostess stand on the second floor. After about 20 more minutes, we were seated at a lovely booth near the patio. The place was packed and quite loud- they've done a really great job marketing as "the place to be". Aside from this, the food was delicious (I had the scallop gnocchi and charred broccolini) and the space overall is very beautiful, which made for great photos of the occasion. Our waiter was also very pleasant and did not rush us which was nice.

The Catch Los Angeles

By Liam |

This is a pretentious restaurant not at all good value for money. Eg Scallop Gnocchi was over $30 and there wasn’t a full scallop in the entire dish. Dishes on average cost $30 and our waitress told us individuals generally ordered 3 or 4 each. Wine prices are exorbitant . I travel all over the world and this has to be the biggest rip off I’ve ever encountered .food we ordered was fine. We just had 2 options , 1 side and 2glasses of wine. $148 20% tip automatically added.
