Fun place to eat

By kymedic788 |

Food was generally good. Staff were very frendly and helpful, especially Hannah. Ate on the patio with live band that was unusual but good and fun (singing almost all Spanish but some English thrown in). Food cost was just a touch more than what I would expect but not bad.

Good seafood by airport

By Canesbiggdogg |

We started with a dozen oysters and they were ok. We each had the pound and a half of King crab legs. They were fresh and tasted good. They were a bit expensive at $48 All you can eat of these were $88. For dessert I had the coconut flan and it was pretty good

Not a great place

By Rocky M |

The place is great. We hoped for a nice dinner. The food was below average and the fries were cold. We had * "Cazuela de Mariscos" $27 Shrimp, Calaman, Cams. Mussels & rice n a light Enchiado sauce served with White Rice. The service was poor and the 15% tip was added to a party of 2 ticket. Not my favorite.

Beautiful fish and an outstanding steak

By Andrew L |

We called in whilst on a one night stop over in Miami on the recommendation of the hotel. It is a lively restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is vast and a little confusing to an Englishman , but with patience we all selected different dishes. The food was really excellent , and the stark was one of the best ever tasted ( I know it's a seafood restaurant but not everyone wanted fish). The fish didn't disappoint and was highly rated. It's lively and busy. Great

Fresh & Tasty Seafood!

By Robert H |

This restaurant is just south of the expressway on LeJune Road. Always an eclectic mix of tourists tethered to the airport, locals, and...a major "tell," folks & crew from boats temporarily on the Miami River for repairs. We stopped on a Tuesday (Tuesday is "2 for 1" ---BOGO --- whole lobster special) afternoon, after Vera's one year operation check up at the downtown UM Spine Clinic. I had the deep fried whole snapper, Moist, and sweet, with those crunchy parts I like to chew. Vera, trained with Long Island's fresh from the boat lobsters, enjoyed a cup of lobster bisque and the double lobster(one we had packed to take home). Her lobster was steamed, nor boiled---a plus. Real butter for dipping! On the side I had fried yucca, Vera had a fake Caesar salad(no egg yolk, no anchovies). Rice (our choice was yellow) is standard. This is our choice for fine fish when we are airport or downtown bound.

Very good

By Niabet |

We have a really good time eating here, the oysters and the shrimps were really fresh and delicious, I eat some Fish and Chips and it was pretty good i liked the batter in the fish quite a lot!!!

Excellent seafood!

By melissamL6643QO |

The scallops were cooked perfectly. Everything we had was delicious. Staff was friendly and we got our food fast. The restaurant was within walking distance from our hotel. It's a pretty small place, but they do have indoor and outdoor seating.

The place to go for seafood

By Craig R |

While the service felt a bit casual, the food was excellent and the menu extensive. An easy and safe walk from several nearby hotels serving MIA travelers.

Good seafoods restaurant in Miami

By hvu2000 |

This seafood restaurant near the airport is excellent! Happy hour runs from 3 pm to 7 pm, offering great deals. The fish tacos and tilapia are absolutely delicious and expertly prepared. The service is friendly and efficient. Highly recommended!

Great food and Great

By Travis r |

The grilled salmon and the black beans were great! The staff was very friendly and very accomodating.

Can't go wrong

By Dennis B |

Everything we tried was wonderful! Menu was large, so we had the waitress guide us and it was awesome! Cuite little place around the corner from our hotel. Seating indoors or out. We tried a couple of different soups and 4 of us shared 2 big platters of grilled and fried seafood samplers. Wow! The dessert was wonderful as well. We were all fat and happy in the end.

Lively Place

By RLynnC |

We had a late dinner here on a Friday night. There was a live band playing on their patio, that sounded really good. The food was mediocre in my opinion.

Fish

By Fabrizio A |

Nice place, friendly staff but the quality of the food is poor. Ofcourse everyrhing is froozen.

Dinner before cruise

By roscoemead |

Best seafood on our trip. Went on a five day cruise and had no better seafood. Bloody Mary was good but expensive.

Great Seafood

By Terry S |

This restaurant combined unbelievable seafood with great service and a wonderful atmosphere. The prices were reasonable. The only issue with this restaurant was the bathrooms which were totally inadequate for the number of peole in the restaurant.

Seafood with class

By George P |

This restaurant is a bit hard to find, since GPS leads you across the street and it's surrounded by trees. However, once inside you will experience superior seafood and excellent bloody Mary's and Cuban rum drinks.

Good happy hour prices

By Johanna L |

Happy hour is between 3pm - 7pm. Domestic drafts are $.90 and oysters are $.50. Some drinks are also 1/2 price, and luch menu is a good price and value. Unfortunately this restaurant falls flat in ceratin areas. Beer doesnt always come out cold, and neither do the oysters. Service is pretty bad and gratuity is included in checks. I went yesterday for beer and oysters again and I had an exceptional server for once. Her name was Giselle ( I might be spelling that wrong). She made the restaurant worth 5 stars. Another dislike is fried food comes out a bit heavy on the grease. Everything else is good. Plenty of choices, nice plate presentations, tasty drinks. All in all, an ok place with great values during certain hours. Pretty good atmosphere with live music on weekends.

Fries no salt

By Bigthunder |

Just OK restaurant however; asked for fries with no salt and I was not accommodated and had to substitute coleslaw. If the majority of some fast food restaurants can grant this request, along with and other Seafood restaurants, why can’t Catch of the Day Seafood do so? And the 15% Gratuity will be added to your bill right off the top regardless of your party size. The service was not a 15% gratuity service, and I was alone.

Go for the mojitos, food just okay

By Bi-coaster |

This lively spot is one of the few dining options within walking distance of the Crowne Plaza Hotel near the airport. Waiter was very friendly and my spouse enjoyed their mojitos. My glass of Pinot Grigio was nice and at the happy hour price! French fries were very good, the shrimp wrap had plenty of shrimp in it, and the cole slaw was good. The sea bass sandwich was a bit disappointing. So a mixed bag on the food, but very good service. It’s popular and casual so the noise level increased as it got closer to prime time.

Good Food

By David Veiga |

The fish was very nice, the burgers also. Very cozy place, beautiful and nice staff girls. And the food came quick, thats a plus.

Fun, good food, will be kick in’ later

By ACBrown153 |

My dad and I went there for dinner. I could tell a big crowd was brewing for later tonight, but the food was really good in the meantime. Dad liked the Mahi wrap, I had the bouillabaisse. Good, but bland for us. We’re from Colorado and we are used to things more spicy. I doctored it up and it was good. I bet that place will be fun later! Nice atmosphere.

Really fresh!

By janelitamirta |

Nice ambiance and excellent food. Not just fish, although fish is the specialty. Parking available.Good for a cold beer too. Flan for dessert?

Great Food and Entertainment

By Brad A |

Three of us decided to celebrate after the Readers' Favorite Awards ceremony next door at Le Club (atached to the Regency Miami). We were seated right away and Judith took really good care of us he rest of the evening. The place was packed but we did not have to wait long for our food. I had the king fish steak, Elizabeth had the catch of the day paella, and Jonesy ate the chicken caesar salad. We finished everything off with key lime pie. The live band was so good, people were literally dancing in the aisles. I would definitely return.

Good Food

By Sparrow2114 |

Good happy hour.great oysters, nice place to "hang" while the wife shops Spinach and clams are excellent as is the boulabaise.

Expensive

By heatherdA2753NY |

The food was exceptionally great! Customer service at the bar area was great as well. The menu offers expensive options with maybe three choices under $10.

Five stars!

By Jav F |

We live an hour from Miami, Florida Keys. This was our first visit and we love it, specially our waitress Aylen. She couldn't be better, she recommend us the lobster tail that was to die for. She always smiles, and very attentive to all the details. This really is a very nice restaurant with a genuinely caring staff that try very hard to make you feel welcome. We'll be back again.

No hurry here

By donanngou1 |

Stopped in with a group and waited and waited. It was slow coming but the food quality was top notch . Very good. Slow and confused service. Very good food though.

Very good sea food!!!

By Adrianopilot |

It's a simple sea food restaurant with a good menu, good lobsters!!! Good waiters and beers!!! Looks lika a island place!!!

Wow what a Catch!

By Connie P |

Great restaurant in walking distance from the hotel. The workers were very nice and they were helpful accommodating a large crowd. Prices were reasonable, food delicious.

What a wonderful experience

By Yvette W |

Excellent service and the food is fantastic if you want a true Miami feeling go and visit this restaurant. The live music at night is right on point. The seafood is so fresh. If you do not know what something is they will take the time to go over everything with you. The portions are very generous and the food is well seasoned.

Nice Dinner Outdoors

By Mary K |

In town for a conference and our small group heard about this great "hole in the wall" restaurant. Fresh seafood for those in the group that enjoy eating things that can breath underwater. I went with the steak which was awesome. Other choices at the table - all received rave reviews - was the Red Snapper, Grouper, and Lobster Tail. The appetizers were wonderful and I cannot say enough good things about the Key Lime Pie!

Very Satisfying!

By Billy P M |

This place was great great food great service what more could you ask for. I've been to a few restaurants in Miami and have been totally let down not by this place I highly recommend it especially if you like seafood and good drinks.

Catch of Day (near Miami Airport)

By Albert B |

We recently dined twice in one day at the 1050 NW Lejeune Road location (near Miami Airport). We opted to walk across the busy road from the Marriott Fairfield Inn on a Friday in Lent. (there are several other major chains hotels within an easy 5-10 minute walk) We were not disappointed with our decision ! First let me get the negatives out of the way. This restaurant is noisy. Reason being is that it's very busy with people enjoying their meal & evening. There is also smoking allowed on covered patio. So-now you have been warned. After flying all day with enjoyed a late lunch of hearty caribbean soup and a salad. It made us forget the poor airline service. With a full service bar there is a full complement of beverages available. There was a "happy hour" from 3 PM to 7 PM-hours and days subject to change. Best bet is Monday to Thursday. Later that same evening we opted for the "famous" Fish & Chips. For $12.99 they were among the best we have had recently. Also opted for a lttle Latin favor with Seafood Paella. Again very enjoyable! The primarily language spoken by guests and staff is Spanish. We had no problems being understood in English. We also observed many guests (I am only guessing locals) enjoying a house specialty of crispy whole red snapper. Their plates were very clean when they finished.

Annoying cat at my feet

By Straighttalkros |

Dined outdoors and there was a cat that was in and out of the tables. Complained to waitresses but they did nothing. This took away from the ambiance for me. Food was good but most entrees include only one side and the tip was already included in the bill.

Reliably great fish and seafood with a Cuban touch

By Sue R |

My husband and I always come here whenever we're in Miami. But this time was pretty funny. The previous day was my birthday, and as we walked in, they started singing happy birthday and followed us to our seats at the bar, so I was shocked and thought my husband had arranged it. It turned out that it was the birthday of a guy sitting at the end of the bar, just down from where we were sitting. I wished him happy birthday and explained what I had thought and everyone laughed. Well, the owner had picked up on it, and after we finished lunch, they brought out a delicious flan with a candle and sang happy birthday to me. So sweet! The food, of course, is always great, as is the service. (Daime was our server--very sweet!) That's why we keep coming back.

The best sweet tea ever

By C M |

Awesome! Yummy seafood and great selection. Yummy desserts too. Lots and lots of food for your $$. Wish I could get their sweet tea recipe. I could go their just to sit on a nice afternoon, enjoy the breeze and sip their sweet tea, but would not be able to resist ordering something as I watched the food go by. Don't miss this.

Wish I could give it a minus infront of a star.

By Gordon B |

What is Marriott thinking? To allow this resturant to be associated with their good name is shocking. The service was terrible, that's when it existed, over priced, and horrible food. Had an omelette for breakfast that lacked any taste and seemed like it waste-made and stuck in a microwave long enough to get most of the chill of it. My wife had oatmeal that looked and tasted like baby food. Actually I'm not sure it was that good. Looked at the buffet line and it made my old Army mess hall food look gourmet. Stay away.

Great Local Seafood

By Jim M |

Excellent place to eat. The service was terrific, the seafood very fresh and the place was packed by locals. Loved this place and will be back when in Miami again.

IT was good but expensive

By Andy N |

there was good music, good food. it was expensive. the service was good. Not enough space for parking.

I'm not a seafood person BUT...

By Kenny1999 |

Being a native Miamian, I know there are no shortage of over priced seafood spots in the city; and any place where the seafood is too cheap to be good usually is. Catch of the Day is neither! Located in tourist friendly Dolphin Mall, this is a great place to stop in for lunch after some shopping or for the dinner portion of your dinner and a movie night. The restaurant new, clean and aquatically atmosphered has a perfectly priced menu with all the seafood staples. I highly recommend their delicious mahi mahi sandwich. The sandwich comes complete with an enourmous filet that doesn't disappoint. Miami needs more restaurants like this!

Went to dinner the night before our cruise.

By TazMan |

Catch Of The Day has great food large portions! Our service was good spot on. The night we were there they had a band outside on the patio. The whole place has a nice atmosphere we stayed after for a few cocktails Henry was tending the bar at the time fabulous job. We had a goodtime over all from the food to spending time at the bar. Keep up the good work.

Oh my word!!! Wonderful

By eulea |

I was recently staying at the Regency Hotel for several day and asked if there was a good restaurant within walking distance as I had no car. Catch of the day was next door and recommended as the best in Miami. He was so right. The seafood piayah was to die for. Lots of shrimp, bay scallops and fish. The sweet plantains made dessert unnecessary they were so good. I ate there each day. The shrimp and spinach salad was great too. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The wait staff was efficient and friendly. If you eat outside be sure to save a little for the black and white cat who visits your table. We will be in Miami in Feb. it's going to be the first place we eat. Yumm.

Not similar to the Catch of the Day near MIA airport

By SRQtravelqueen |

Having the flash fried Red Snapper at the location near the airport, we had great expectation of repeating the dish at this restaurant. Unfortunately, the dining room is fast food like and the meals nothing like the other location. Lights were too bright. The snapper was dry and as an afterthought, maybe the fish had been frozen before flash frying. Another entrée had tons of garlic in the shrimp. The linguine and clams were disappointing, too, as not much flavor. The yellow rice, I make better from a bag I buy at Publix. If you want to sit outside, you can watch the cars go by, searching for a parking space at the Dolphin Mall, and smell the fumes. Service was fine. Just missed the mark we anticipated from our prior experience.

Great food, great atmosphere

By RuckerJ |

We heard from the locals that this restaurant was very good so we had to give it a try. We ate inside but outside seating seemed very nice. Seafood and the burger were all great! Highly recommend eating here if you’re in the area!

Close to hotels

By tavel99 |

Very popular place, good seafood and a great happy hour. Was accross the street from our hotel, we got there early and were seated immediately by the time was finished dinner it was very crowded. Would recommend this place and would return there if we go back to Miami next year.

Great place to eat while staying in a Miami airport hotel

By aliciac2bigkids |

Just get the hotel shuttle driver to drop you off. It's fun to sit outside. Great fish tacos. seafood is always delicious. Fun place to drink beer and just hang out before starting the next leg of vacation on a cruise or flight.

great way to get dinner near the airport

By Dece0005 |

We were passing through Miami for the night and staying at the Mariott (and the Fairfield Inn) and one of the people working there suggested it. it was great! they had live latino music so it wasn't very quiet but they were great and entertaining. the prices are pretty good and food was excellent! we had raw oysters and peel and eat shrimp with beer and would definitely go back! thought it was very affordable and a great place to relax and enjoy the evening!

It’s more sports bar than seafood

By James A |

If you’re expecting a quiet meal and intimate conversation forget it. This place is loud and I could barely hear my server speak. I think his name was Frank. That’s what the receipt said anyway. He was very good. Service was quick and pleasant. The food was ok. I was expecting more flavour it was kind of bland. Overall it was ok. I would go again just because of the noise. It’s basically a sports bar but they have seafood. Not for me. If ypu like those things go for it.

Great Dinner

By AAW1999 |

Good whole snapper with great mojito. Service was fast and quick. Very delicious variety of see food.

Oysters

By Courtnay L |

Mondays are dollar half shell oysters and they were great. We got the seafood plate appetizer for our meal and it was spectacular. The staff is not overly attentive, but they get the job done. I'll be back if I ever get the chance again!

Great food, good drinks, minutes from airport

By Robert V |

The Grilled Mahi-Mahi and Shrimp was very tasty. Both the shrimp and the fish had a delicious flavor from the grill, to where I didn't really even need the dipping sauce (but it was a tasty addition). Don't be afraid of getting the Mango Tango Mojito; it's not overly sweet, but very tasty. (Their special margarita was only alright. Get the mojito instead.) Tried

Just ok

By Stevepattyo |

Stayed at airport Marriott nite before a cruise. Hotel staff recommended the restaurant. 6:3o in a Sunday nite and they were quite busy. Hostess was not very friendly but this was made up for by our wonderful waitress! Extremely knowledgeable and fantastically upbeat. Food was just "ok". Would probably look for a different experience when in the area next time.

Great value for money

By fabionishi |

Great food at a fair price. Good service and free parking. It's worth the value for money. Very good mojito and crab

We all enjoyed out food!

By Dais O |

We bought a Living Social voucher for this place and at first I was apprehensive because the reviews mostly said the service was horrible. With that in mind and since no one was really complaining about the food, we bought it and decided to try it out on a Wednesday night. We arrived towards the end of happy hour so the downstairs was packed. We were seated in the upstairs area which was nice becase it was a ways away from the ruckus and we were the only ones up there the entire time. Our server was nice and came after a little bit. We were brought out bread way before our drinks so that was a bit untimed. The menu is regular seafood house stuff, but they have a lot of big trays of appetizers. We didn't try any of those and stuck the lobster bisque and a ceaser salad to start (came with the meal), we ordered the "sopon marinero" a huge serving bowl of soup of various fish, mussels, shrimp, crab legs and so on. The soup was loaded. It was definitely worth the price, $16.99. I had the bisque and a fish sandwich and fries (10.95 i think), It was grilled mahi and that was good too. My mom had the shrimp trio and the portion was huge! It had shrimp scampi, friend shrimp and grilled shrimp. (23.99). I couldnt believe she ate everything, it was pretty big. She was really pleased with her plate and the way it was cooked, althought she did not like the grilled shrimp as much, said they weren't as good as the others. It did take a while to get our check and then when they didnt take the voucher price off, it took what seemed like forever to get the check corrected. We finally got it and oop was $32 with vouce ($72 total meal). Overall it was a nice place to go with the voucher. The service was not as bad as the other reviews led me to believe, I am not sure if maybe we picked a good night and since it was mid week it wasnt crowded. Ambience was ok, had things and props up on the wall. We would probably return.

Great fresh seafood!

By Jim M |

Spending a night at a airport hotel? No need to travel you can walk here from several of the airport hotels. Fun place eat indoors or out. Great drinks and a large selection of great seafood with a friendly staff.

Great fresh Seafood with excellent prices ... A local favourite

By Cas M |

I had a 5 hour layover at the airport in Miami and decided to ask the locals at the airport what I could do in that time. After deciding that we would grab something to eat several recommended Catch of the Day restaurant which is 8 minutes away from the airport. What a fantastic surprise! This is a local restaurant that mainly serves seafood…. the food was soooooo good! I was at this restaurant for 3 1/2 hours just sitting down enjoying the food, the people rolling in and out, the scenery outside and did I mention the food? I have to say this restaurant is one of our top 5 must eats when you arrive in Miami….

Great dinner

By Lisa E |

Very nice restaurant with friendly staff. The food was great and it was really nice to sit outside while enjoying the meal. I really recommend this restaurant.

Good for fish menu. Lots of live music, huge TV for football games.

By Sateesh L |

Useful if you are not able to be seated in the dining room which is very crowded. Good fish menu and good cocktails. Prices are reasonable.

Great sea food with a nice outside dining area

By shauniep1968 |

Great food, here - good selection of seafood, and a selection of ribs and steaks for non-seafood lovers. Friendly staff, too. Recommented.

Wonderful seafood at resonable prices, and convenient to airport hotels

By NaPat |

Stopped at Catch of the Day several times during recent stays near the airport. The meals are all fantastic, and at a reasonable price. ...especially when you take quality into consideration. I've tried upwards of 10 (or more) of the menu items so far, and each tasted fresh and well prepared. Wine list is small, but has a few nice selections to pair with seafood. Service is as good as you'd expect at any decent neighborhood restaurant: efficient and attentive. The location is very convenient to any of the several hotels south or east of the airport. I will make a point of visiting again next time I stay near MIA.

Bad very bad

By jss8477 |

Service was very rude and poor. Yenny M forced a gratuity on a two person table , yet the the table next to us with a different server didn’t get their gratuity added. I would skip over this stop. Almost robbery

Good, fresh seafood

By hbhakh |

I recently had dinner at Catch of the Day with a colleague. We were fairly early so tables were available. There was a wait by the time we finished (on a Wednesday evening). As expected, the menu is mostly seafood, including some all you can eat options. I chose a Mahi with shrimp, which was fresh and well prepared. Service was good and prices were reasonable for Miami. I'd go back.

Tasty food

By ISAAC E |

The food was tasty but overpriced I like the live music The valet service is an added asset as well. Will definitely go back

tried to rip us off

By Kev J |

must admit its a good place with good atmosphere. but wasnt happy at the waitress trying to rip us english off. $140 for a few beers vodkas and a few chicken wings. must have though id come in on the last onion boat. be careful if your not american in this place, my advice is dont run up a bar tab. pay as you go. .

Fresh off the Boat!

By Gary S |

My wife and I dined at this marvelous spot in Miami. It is more like a "working person's bar than a fine dining locale. This is because the croud is boistrous and even louder than loud and everyone is just having fun. My wife had the red snapper filet and I tasted a bit of it and was amazed how great it tasted compared to other restaurants. I had the Chilean sea bass and I have to admit that it was as good as I have had anywhere. The service staff are very engaging and attentive. We had a great meal and enjoyed the camaraderie of the "house".

Fresh fish before flying

By Susan C |

We arrived a day ahead of our transatlantic flight to Rome This was suggested by our hotel Marriott TownePlace and it was excellent! The fish & chips were fresh grouper & my Cuban style paella (rice on side in red sauce) was full of a variety of shellfish & fish Avocado & tomato salad fresh as well Price reasonable & service excellent

Great

Very nice place fresh food and quick service, we really enjoy this restaurant... can be for all day long!

Good food nice atmosphere and reasonable prices

By Moshedraznin |

I enjoyed the food very much. Simple place good ambiance and great food. The wait staff were friendly and knowledgeable ! I enjoyed my dinner! Good quality was excelent. The lobster bisque was amazing. The parilla was tasty. 5 stars in my book. M.

Great place to watch any game!

By shocka13 |

Didn't know what to expect. It looked very busy and vibrant. Had tasty meal and drinks here. The service was great.

Awesome

By rdubious |

Food was excellent! Ordered the sampler, with fish, fritters, and calamari. Everything was fresh. Service and atmosphere were great. A much better experience than the service and food on South Beach! It was worth the Lyft $ to get there from Collins Avenue.

Good food, ok service

By Tim C |

We picked Catch of the Day because it was within walking distance of our hotel. The food was good, but a lot of the menu was fried. Portions were pretty large, prices were about what you would expect for seafood. Service was quick to start but we had to ask a couple of times for drink refills.

Great meal - great service

By Lrothfl |

We have had dinner here a number of times over the past few years - especially when they have their Monday - Thursday all you can eat Stone Crabs. The food is always excellent and the wait staff always go out of their way to give us excellent service. Dinner tonight was 2 for the price of one whole Maine lobster [for my lovely wife] and Salmon Rockefeller for me. Perfect. A must try.

Great relaxed seafood restaurant & bar

By MrClarasDad |

I was staying at one of the nearby airport hotels and was looking for a good meal and even better drink after coming in late. Finding someplace open for dinner at 10:00 on a Sunday night is not always easy but no problem at the Catch, they are open until 11:30! The restaurant has a smallish inside dining room and then a outdoor eating area of equal size. I sat at the bar. I started with a Florida twist on a Moscow mule which was fantastic and then had a great mahi sandwhich. Super moist fish and a good size portion. It was delicious. If one was up for spending a little more their other seafood entrees looked great too. The restaurant in general has a very relaxed feel to it and is a great alternative to the area chains. If you are staying near the airport, find this place!

Wonderful Ambiance, Delightful Food, Helpful Staff

By HuntingtownTraveler |

We were in town March 2018 for the Miami Open Tennis Tournament. We'd spent the entire day at the tournament, and did not return to our hotel until midnight. We found that Catch of the Day was open until 1:00 AM, and kitchen open until 12:45 AM, which was perfect for us. Even though we arrived very late, the entire restaurant was packed with people enjoying themselves - there were many families, many couples, and what appeared to be groups of friends. There was live music and the restaurant had a great vibe. We ordered a number of different items - all were good, and we shared appetizers and entrees 'family style'. We had a "Bucket of Shrimp" from the cold bar. The waiter recommended the Lobster Bisque, which was excellent, as he knew it would be. We ordered the Mahi (blackened), Red Snapper, Fish & Chips, and Cazuela de Mariscos. All the entrees were excellent. Our server was solicitous and timely with everything. Other servers stopped by our table to ensure that we were doing ok, and chatted knowledgeably about the local area, offering ideas for things to do and other restaurants in the area to visit. We strongly recommend Catch of the Sea to others. We had a wonderful time.

Watch out fish your in trouble!

By reeflife |

Great food! The scampi seafood lobster for two was excellent! I'm sure everything else excellent by what the other tables were saying.

Don't order anything "Blackened"

By caymancat1 |

Stayed nearby as a stopover for a trip out of the country. Easy waking distance, so we went with high hopes. It was very busy and seemed almost chaotic. When finally seated, I ordered a "Blackened" fresh fish sandwich and my husband had the fish ad chips. When my sandwich came, I took one bite and thought, "huh...not even seasoned...pretty plain." I called the waitress over and she insisted (and I believed her) that she placed the order as "blackened." I showed her the fish and she said, "well that's just the way the kitchen does it." Long story short, the manager came over, concurred that the order was placed as "blackened." In the end, she removed it from our bill, but it was pretty disappointing experience after reading other great reviews. No taste at all.

Great time!

By Hannah Lea |

Had a fantastic dinner and loved the atmosphere! Make sure to go during their happy hour or you will pay an arm and a leg though! The food I would rate a 8 out of 10, and the service was very slow, but then again we did go on a Friday night at 6pm so that is to be expected. The staff was very friendly and we had a lively time. Would go again for sure.

More bar than restaurant

By cl0777 |

My mom and I went on a Monday during Happy Hour for dinner. I ordered the “Famous” Fish & Chips and although some reviews recommended it, I found it to be a very large portion, yes, but lack of flavor. Fish was battered and fried perfectly, but blah taste. The atmosphere is more of a sports bar to me.....

Nothing to write home about at CATCH OF THE DAY.

By Maria K |

Pretty disappointing experience. Food is very pricey and not worth it. I had the Florida fresh stone crab legs (4 of them) with a caesar salad for $38.99. The crab legs looked almost plastic on the plate...very pretty, but not worth the price. The caesar salad barely had any dressing on it.....virtually dry.

Just Above OK

By Larry R |

Conveniently located just south of Miami Airport, at best it was OKAY. The service is quite uneven, after several visits I would rate it as average minus. The food feels greasy, prices are high for what it is. As one can judge by the name, it features seafood, a lot of it fried.

Mediocre

By Trent B |

Mediocre Snapper sandwich, fish greasy with skin , non descriptive chips . EXPENSIVE. The mojito was ok , but it cost 10 dollars. You looking at 30 bucks (with tip ) a head bare minimum

Nice Place to Sit Outside - Great Food!

Went here in March 2018 - sits right next to Regency Hotel and we walked over for a bite to eat. I had the Shrimp Wrap and it was really good! Someone next to me got the Shrimp Cocktail, it looked amazing, wish I had gotten that!! Sat outside and atmosphere was nice! Some traffic noise. Had fans going for air flow. Service was fast and courteous. Recommend this place!

My girlfriend and i ate dinner here last night for my birthday. We picked the spot because we were going to a movie and wanted a quick bite to eat before hand. We shared a bowl of lobster bisque and a Surf and Turf plate which consisted of a new york strip and four jumbo shrimp.. enough for us to split.. Thelobster bisque was just OK.. nothing stand out here.. I ordered the steak medium and it came out a bit overcooked but still tasty. The shrimp, while tasty, came out cold and a bit stale. The service was good and the night was nice, which made sitting outside quite enjoyable.. i wioll come again but last night wasnt one of the best experiences.. located in Dolphin Mall.. this is generally one of the better places to eat.. as far as mall fare goes..

Fresh food

I had the Fried Shrimp basket with perfectly cooked shrimp. My friend had the Crab Legs which were wonderful.

Great food and great atmosphere

We spent 14 days in Miami and I can honestly say that we ate at the Catch of the Day several times. It's conveniently located near the hotel that were staying at which is what initially brought us to the restaurant; but, the great food is what kept us going back! I ordered a different entree each time and they were all delicious! My favorite is the fish and chips. The $12.99 lunch specials are fantastic and great for the price as well.

Really good fresh seafood restaurant.

My experience was probably affected by the great company and the abundance of wine, but we had a great night here. The fish was very good, the service acceptable and the general good feeling from the patrons was exceptional. Lots of fun, good food and not too expensive.

Pay attention to the bad reviews!

By Mark S |

Food was good once we got it. Of course it was hard to eat without utensils, which the server never noticed we're missing. She did not notice nor bring rolls even after being asked. Then she brought me the wrong side. But that's not as bad as the poor person at our table who was not served for half an hour after after everyone else. At least they had the decency to comp her meal. Did I mention when I complained about the service I got a stupid grin and not even an apology. I love management's write up about being so friendly. We seemed to eat in a different place than management thinks they run!

Good food.

I was pleased with my snapper sandwich, but the bun was too toasty. My teenage son enjoyed his meal as well. Their meals are nicely presented, and they seem to have a decent selection to choose from. The place seems to be popular with the locals, which is a good thing. Gratuity (15%) is automatically added to the bill.

What a surprise!

Looking for a quick meal after a long day flying in from UK we stumbled on this restaurant. Not very well situated next to a busy highway, it nevertheless has an excellent menu of mainly fish. I had the seafood pasta which was full of shellfish in a lovely creamy sauce, whilst my wife had the fish and chips which were delicious even though we could not identify the fish. We washed it down with a bucket of Sam Adams beer (5 bottles) which is the nearest you can get to an English type beer from a big brewer in the USA. We intend to return to try one of their fish platters

We enjoyed the happy hour. This restaurant is always full ..we visited it a couple of times while our stay. The service was always good. Live music not sure about days it has music but we visited during the weekend. The food is excellent. Kind of a sport bar too! Do recommend

Good seafood place near airport

By Mpls_Susan |

This restaurant is very very busy both nights that we went there so service can be a tiny bit slow but not so much that it was irritating. I had crab claws. You get 4 for around $30. Didn't realize they were served cold so they should mention that on the menu. Only came with a rather plain salad...had some cut up tomatoes and some onion and not enough dressing. For the price better sides should come with it. Both nights the food was good. Not over the top good, but good. They advertise all you can eat crab legs but when we went the next night for those we found out it was $88 per person. Even in Minneapolis where we have to fly seafood in you can get all you can eat crab legs for $25 so I thought that was way expensive and ordered something else. I did like their outdoor eating area. My dinner companion had the Paella one of the nights and the Surf & Turf the other. He said they were both excellent. I would recommend but go later or on a weeknight when its not so crowded. Great wait staff. They really hustle.

Great location and food

Located within walking distance of hotel. We stayed at Towneplace Suites at the airport and enjoyed dining here. Good food with reasonable prices and I highly recommend their mojitos

Wouldn't Go Back

By daniems |

This is close and convenient to the Marriott so we were able to walk over. The food just wasn't too good, and very pricey for what you get. We got Mahi bites which had way too much crust and not much taste and fried shrimp that were mushy. Kids got chicken sandwiches which they said were ok but didn't taste right. Hate posting negative reviews but it was just really disappointing.

Great seafood

By krt4 |

Some of the best seafood you will get in Miami. Food is excellent, staff great. They are always checking on you which is good customer service.

Too long to wait

By Gary L |

Waited too long for a Mahi Mahi sandwich. Everyone around me received their food even though other parties arrived after me. Then they added a 15% for a party of two. When I approached the hostess desk nothing was done. I was never allowed to talk to a manager. Once the waiter found out we were not happy she wouldn't even look at us. Really odd.

Superb dining!

Friendly staff, delicious shellfish combo dish, festive atmosphere with live music! Great place to eat after just getting off the plane!

Bar and Grill - much more!

By Carolyn T |

This is on a busy street and a bar, but the food is so good! We had the chicken wings which were so tasty and temperature hot that we didn’t need the sauce. Drinks were great as well. Black beans and rice were delicious. The mahi mahi was dry, but the tilapia was very good. Fried plantains with meal was good as well. If staying at a airport hotel this is the place to go. A lot of local people go here. Happy hour from3-7. A lot of people were ordering the crispy whole fish

Just okay

By Al M |

I went to the location at 1050 NW Le Jeune Road for a late lunch on a Saturday. Had a Lobster and Shrimp Enchilado that was one of the featured special. A good helping of shrimp and a lobster in a tomato sauce. It was good not great. I waited a while before a waitress finally arrived and for a moment was left speculating if this was because I was African American. Appears, however, that my waitress was very busy attending other tables. Couples seated next to me, who arrived after I did, were attended before I was. The wait staff clearly are not encouraged to help each other, as I made eye contact with the wait staff for the tables surrounding me and neither made any effort to greet me or assist with a simple task of taking a drink order. Once my assigned waitress became engaged, everything went well. The coconut flan was very good.

Quick Walk and Good Seafood

By kariglenn5 |

We have been here twice during layovers at MIA. It's quick walk from the Marriott hotels and the food is good no matter what you order. We'll go back again during our next overnight layover.

Florida-March-2018

We went to this Restaurant twice. We had a lot of Seafood. and the food was excellent. The service was fast and clean. The only issue is that its a BIT Noisy since there are several TV's on by the Bar and they were noisy. So if its a quiet place you want its not here. Other wise the place is good.

Easy walk from hotel.

By dave984MooseJaw |

Open late, eleven thirty or so, depending on patronage and day. Lots of good specials. Easy walking distance from hotel. Food is good, prices for the type of food, as tested for similar venues, about the same. Portioning is adequate, taste and value good. Only downsides are that it is on a main traffic thoroughfare and a main flight path which makes noise levels above average and sometimes at a level that makes conversation impossible. Has live music on weekends.

huge portions

Good experience, convenient, friendly service, nice atmosphere. Big selection on menu. Indoor and outdoor seating.

SLOW catch of the day!!

By ROCCOWEB |

30 min for and apetizer and 1hr for main course. Service great and food time. Shame for the slow kitchen.

Catch of the Day = Walking the Plank

By Jennifer H |

No bread was brought to our table. We had 3 different waiters serving us at the same time. Rude and loud staff members. 20 mins to get our bill. Overpriced for quality and portions. One of my brothers ordered the Admiral's Feast and it was more like the Admiral's Famine. Literally a piece of overcooked dry mahi mahi, 5 shrimp that you could tell were frozen, and 5 tiny scallops smaller than the size of a dime. $24. We also ordered the seafood pasta 5 shrimps, 2 mussels, and 4 scallops $18. We will not come back again. The funny part is that they automatically had 15% gratuity to the bill no matter how many people in the party. NEVER AGAIN. We spent $88 on 3 entrees and 1 appetizer and no drinks.

Fresh seafood with outside seating

By Vicki S |

Excellent food that is locally fresh with ample outside seating if you don't mind the traffic. My husband and I shared the seafood paella, so tasty and a huge portion so go hungry for this meal 😊

Good seafood in a strange location.

By Michelle B |

Great variety, and good value. The lunch and "Happy Hour" specials are good. The interior decor and bathrooms could be nicer. Located in the Dolphin Mall, its convenient if you're in the mood for seafood. The other location in Miami near MIA airport has a better "ambiance". This is a casual restaurant with always fresh seafood at decent prices. Ive never been disappointed.

Best shrimp cocktail since 1955!!!

By OnAir702055 |

My father and I were unexpectedly rerouted to Miami. The airline sent us to a hotel about 10 min. from the airport and we were blessed that this restaurant was just across the parking lot. What an amazing find! If I ever have a long layover at the Miami airport, I will return to have another meal here. It was a free (Regency Hotel) shuttle. At the “Catch of the Day,” we chose to sit outside rather than inside, and yes, because Miami is so large, it was quite noisy. Plus, it’s on a very busy street and the planes fly low and directly overhead, but the large palms and the multiple theater-style (silent) TV screens buffered the noise a bit. We were seated immediately and offered drinks and a menu right away. Dad can’t see well, so I read the menu aloud...”I don’t want anything still in the shell,” he said. We both were attracted to the Langoustine enchilada, but I ordered it because it Is served in the claws. He settled for the shrimp cocktail, and asked for fried oysters. The server was more than accommodating. Being from the Midwest, I expect expected some sort of shellfish wrapped in a corn shell. What I got was absolutely amazing. It was 2 long claws smothered in a sauce of peppers and tomatoes. Talk about a treat! The server said that the dish had Cuban overtones. Yum. Dad’s shrimp cocktail came as an appetizer… Five jumbo shrimp on a bowl of lettuce and probably a homemade cocktail sauce. That’s just what he wanted... No extra veggies or salsa or other stuff. He said it was the best shrimp cocktail that he’s had since the Denver airport in the 1950s. His fried oysters were equally delicious. The restaurant offered several beers on tap. The food was served quickly, and the service was friendly. Partway through the meal, we were entertained with live music ... a great violinist (with good vocals as well) set up on a dias at the front of the patio. As we enjoyed the music, our server came by with the display plate of desserts. As I write this, I’m sorry I passed on the desserts, they looked delicious, but I was too weary at the time. +++ When our bill came, a note at the bottom of it apprised us that a modest tip had already been included in the meal’s total. I added an additional $10.… It was just that enjoyable of an evening — plus, we had a meager voucher from the airlines that the restaurant accepted. Big smile.

8 out of 10

1st time here. Enjoyed both the paella and seafood bisque. It was very tasty but needed a little spicy kick, but that is just my taste. It is a great mid range place. I wish I could have tried several more of their dishes.

A Good Standby Near The Airport

By es7109 |

My husband and I had occasion to have dinner at Catch of the Day twice last week. Both times the noise level - both inside and out - was louder than any other restaurant we've ever dined at. That being said, the food is consistently good. My shrimp cocktail was fresh with large shrimp-highly recommend. The caesar salad was OK. Fish & Chips is a good standby. The grilled churasco steak was difficult to cut, but tasty. The sea bass florantine is pricey ($30+) but quite good. The Corvina was also good. The plantain chips are tasteless but the regular sweet plaintains were acceptable. The beer is priced right! We had no problem with service but the tables on either side of us (outside) waited over a 1/2 hour for their dinners. At 8 pm there was a long wait for tables.

Fabulous for food and cocktails

After a long flight from Europe we literally dropped our luggage off at the hotel and headed straight for Catch of the Day. Wonderful choice of food, fabulous cocktails and great Cuban hospitality. Not to be missed when in Miami!

Lunch and Dinner Dining

By Al E |

We ate here twice, lunch and dinner while staying at the Marriott across the street. The fish and chips, shrimp and chips, fish taco were all cooked perfectly. The dishes has flavor and the fried items had meat, not just breading/batter. The price and portions were OK, good deals on the lunch menu Monday - Friday. Now, the Mango Tango Mojito was 'off the chain', good pour. The drink is a great deal during happy hour, expensive otherwise but worth it.

Surprisingly Good Food

By t74lovette |

When we got there we weren’t sure if we made the right choice picking this restaurant because of the atmosphere, but we were surprised. It was late and we just wanted a relaxed place to eat. The catch of the day had live entertainment, very upbeat and people were having a good time. My husband is a critic when it comes to food and he a little hesitant at first but after seeing plates come out his facial expression changed. We ordered grilled salmon with yellow rice and asparagus. The salmon was cooked perfect. My husband was very pleased. We will definitely visit The Catch of the Day again.
