Nice venue for food and drink

By BluesDoctor |

Don't miss the fried chicken BLT. Too good. Nice burgers and other comfort foods. Outdoor patio with big screen TVs. Decent beer and wine selection as well

Go no matter what

By MikeM22rugger |

My wife and I stopped here for dinner one night. This place is absolutely amazing. The only catch is we had to order everything at the bar but, the is literally the only downside to this place. Even so that’s not even really a downside. The bartenders we incredible, the drinks were amazing, and the food was phenomenal. Anytime we are in Austin we will be going back, no matter where we are in Austin

I could eat here every day!

By CCZona |

I ate here a couple of times while on a business trip. All of the food was delicious. The cocktails where great too. The Hollywood French Fries where to die for! I did not go here in March 2017 though. I went a few years ago, but felt that this restaurant deserved credit on trip advisor.

Awesome laid back bar

By Kevin B |

When the hotel bar I was enjoying closed this was the place suggested to me by the bartender. I'm glad I headed her advice. It was a nice laid back place with a great patio. The staff was friendly and fast, and the drinks were reasonably priced. What more could you want in a bar?

Good food-poor service

By Queenjjd |

I tried to stop here after it was recommended to me by someone at my hotel, but they had a private party so I couldn’t get in so I assumed it must be great. I went back the next night for dinner because I was excited about having the brisket tacos. They were really worth the wait and the sauce served with them was excellent. I ordered bread pudding to take back to my hotel for later. It was pretty good too. The wait staff was slow and pretty much ignored me. I would have ordered another beer to go with my tacos but no one asked.

Hidden gem

By Grant T |

The restaurant is located across the street east of the JW Marriott. I ate here last summer with my family and thoroughly enjoyed in-enough to come back this time. The food is hearty and delicious. I ordered the chicken fried steak with jalapeño gravy. Overall good atmosphere, drinks and food. I'll be visiting again next time I'm through Austin.

Drinks maybe. Food no

By Bizroadwarrior |

There are way too many places to eat in Austin to stop in here and waste your time. Everything was over salted and the food was marginal. Brisket tacos were just overdone. Bad brisket chopped into tacos does not make for good brisket or tacos. Just poor all around in a city that has such great food. The server was great though and kept us all watered and happy.

Nice Texas Size Mexican Martini

By Gary R |

The food was good but the mexican martini (margarita) was great. It came it a larger mixer and one was enough that I wouldn't risk driving. Nice warmup for 6th street.

Fun Patio For Football Sunday

By KevinK5211 |

We stopped here for a lite lunch and beers on a Sunday. Service was great, beer selection plentiful and food delicious. Had the Beef Brisket Tacos that were excellent. Steady crowd from noon until 4pm. Very nice place.

Sunday football, shiner and wings

By tGoNosh |

All around perfect place. Sat on terrace outside and weather was perfect. Eight tv screens to watch your choice of games. Atmosphere is perfect, crowds not loud nor out of control. Service was best I seen in a long while. Perfectly attentive, friendly and engaging. Ask for Niki. Now for the wings. Bloody Awesome!!!!! Smoked dry rub with Alabama White Sauce could have eaten a hundred. They are in my best top three wings I have ever eaten.

Love the Cedar Door and Love having an event there for the office!

By Bren1959 |

I have been working with Patty Lillie for most of this year planning our company Holiday party that was held on Dec. 8, 2022. We had the entire place for our party. It was awesome! The venue is cool and full of history. The food was so good. And, luckily, the weather was nice enough for our band to play out on the deck. So much fun! Plan your office event or personal event with the Cedar Door!

Coolest staff, great vibe

By nuk |

This place was so relaxed. I popped in Sunday evening for one beer, but stayed a lot longer as the vibe, music, customers and especially the bartender were all so cool, you just felt so genuinely relaxed and welcome. The bartender (Brett) was surely one of the coolest and most laidback ever. Correctly guessed my accent (NZ) in five words, which has never happened. I can't comment on the food, but the beer, vibe and service were all great!

Good place to watch the National Championship game

By 84Hokie |

As a group of 5, we met up in the back part of the restaurant to watch the LSU vs. Clemson game. Since we had had a late lunch we made dinner from multiple shared appetizers or small sides. Some ordered tacos or other options. I had tortillia soup which was too chunky for me and on the salty side. We stayed for the entire game and had a wonderful evening. Attentive wait staff.

Best salads ever!

By Robyn B |

Three of us post-conference came here for lunch and we all order different salads and we could not stop talking about them after we left. We wish this restaurant existed in the Boston area. We love this place, prices and service. If we return to Austin again, this is at the top of our list to visit again.

Good for lunch or after getting off work.

By DougGleaner |

Nice for lunch or dinner. Great Cuban sandwich. Friendly staff. Indoor or outdoor seating. Will be back to try other menu items. Clever decor.

Nice Remodel

By Brandie C |

It was so nice. Still the Cedar Door, but great updates. I loved the new happy hour food and drink menu, which I don't usually think is anything special. The peppers are to die for!

Great food and service

By Johnfili |

Great food. Fast service and great flavor. Nothing bad about this place if you are in the area and happy hour is a plus! I would recommend the BBQ Brisket Grilled Cheese. Yum.

Casual meal

By Ctelizabeth |

The location was convenient and so we went in for drinks and appetizers. Food was pretty good. Service was attentive. Drinks were pretty standard. The bar offers a lot of specials. It is worth taking advantage of them. I would go back.

Great place for lunch and drinks!

By Happydaisy219 |

We visited on a Sunday afternoon and again two days later, we loved it so much! The guacamole is the best we've ever eaten and the brisket tacos and Southwest salad with grilled chicken were superb! On Sunday, Nikki was our waitress and she was so fun, personable and welcoming, we just loved it all! Highly recommended!!!

Business Social

By Tobin L |

Attended a business social here in early April. The food was okay and the atmosphere was lively. Staff members are friendly. It is very difficult to find parking around here without paying a hefty fee.

Good atmosphere, though not a fan of the shrimp tacos

By Chris M |

We picked this restaurant as we wanted to watch the basketball whilst enjoying some dinner and a few drinks. When we arrived we had to wait about half an hour for a table, though it was a Saturday evening and the bar kept us refreshed whilst we waited. The outdoor area was nice and chilled and has shows sport on two large screens, where we were able to relax and wait for our food to arrive. I confess I was disappointed with my selection of shrimp tacos, as the sauce was a little strong and drowned the shrimp flavour. My friend's chicken tacos were very good on the other hand giving me major food envy! The s'more I had for dessert was delicious though. All in all this is a pretty good place and reasonably priced, just be careful with your choice from the menu.

Great for Beer and Football-Good Food Too

By lubbock09 |

Came in for a light dinner-not really possible here! Crab Dip would have been plenty, and was really tasty. Or the cup of soup and the enormous side salad! Lots of Cowboys fans made for fun game watching! We will return.

Was looking forward but...

By Dawn W |

We had a group of 8 and even though that was a larger group, it took too long to get our food. I picked wrong and chose the peppered steak tacos. No flavor, more tortilla than filling, and meat was horrible. It was chewy and I couldn't bite through it. I think it was cut wrong. It definitely wasn't tenderloin. More like flank or skirt. Friends had salad and the fried chicken and they were happy with it. Not sure if there will be a next time but won't be getting the tacos again

Great staff, service and food

By Lickcreek |

After our first trip, we had to go again. The first trip was for lunch. Our table had salads which we excellent in taste. Mine was with grill chicken which was moist and tasty. The salads were very large. The next trip was for dinner with burgers. Again great service and tasty food I would recommend for lunch or dinner. They have both inside and outside seating. Had it been a little cooler, outside would have been nice but we did opt for the inside with AC.

BEST MEXICAN MARTINI IN AUSTIN!

By Axemom |

I've been enjoying this wonderful place since it was a "neighborhood" bar on 16th street. While it has gone through several locations since then, and grown substantially, it's still a friendly totally "Austin" place to grab a drink and meet friends. Hands down the best Mexican Martini you'll find. Enjoy!

Vegetable Excellence

By HowIReallyFeel |

Very glad I selected Cedar Door while visiting Austin. Patio lunch experience. Great choice of feel good oldies played. My meal was created, just tell them what you want; I have a small salad, collard greens, asparagus, and brussel sprouts - cooked perfectly and unique excellent style. Service was great. Bathroom was clean.

Fabulous restaurant...tucked away

By Jobro160 |

Stopped in by chance as we were walking past...excellent food(try the tacos) and drinks.... Friendly service and loved the patio

By Todd W |

Went for lunch with some business associates. Got seated fast and service was very prompt. I had the buffalo shrimp tacos.... AMAZING! Highly recomend

Neat, good place in downtown Austin!

By Stephen |

Enjoyed my plate of three fish tacos. My friend enjoyed his Caesar salad with chicken. Our waiter, Victor, was very friendly, helpful and efficient. We enjoyed talking with him. I recommend this place near the downtown Austin Hyatt Place. You can sit on the patio or sit inside. Reasonable prices with full bar. Recommended!

Loved the shrimp tacos

By JadeMartini1010 |

Every one in my group enjoyed the fare proffered. Hospitality was off the hook. Make reservations if you have a large party.

Great food, dog friendly

By Moved2Texas |

We were looking for a dog friendly restaurant in Austin to enjoy dinner with our grown children and their three dogs. The Cedar Door was a great spot to find. They feature American and Tex Mex food. We had a large table that allowed the dogs to sit by our feet and out of the way of the servers; they also provided water for the dogs. The food was very tasty; a little pricey, but not bad for Austin. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was terrific. The bun was toasted and it had cole slaw on the sandwich. It was served with fries. Others had the Quesadilla, a burger and a turkey wrap. Everyone liked their food. The only issue was that parking is hard to find nearby but we had a nice walk on a warm October night.

Very good lunch

By Shannon M |

Stopped here for lunch and had the arugula salad and brisket tacos. Very yummy lunch and nice sitting outside. Very convenient location from our hotel.

Nice Mexican Martini

By L D |

Instead of a Margarita, my wife ordered a Mexican Martini which was excellent. The mahi tacos were also excellent. The southwestern salad was so-so. Good service. Casual atmosphere. Happy Hour specials until 7:00 pm

Great patio bar for watching NCAA bb on a beautiful Sunday afternoon

By Laura B |

We had fish and chips and brisket tacos. Both very good, large portions. I had the Mexican martini and while a large drink it was just ok... Service was pleasant and timely. We would recommend it .

Great Atmosphere!

By Jersey Girl Travels |

Stopped here for lunch while I was in Austin for business. This place was amazing!! We got seated right away and the food came extremely fast. I'm not much of a salad girl, but I had the Arugula Salad and the poppy seed dressing that came with it was delicious! I want more! If I come back to Austin, I am definitely eating at Cedar Door again!

Quick bite and beer

By Bhaveet S |

Came to Cedar Door on my first night in Austin. I found the place by accident while strolling around looking for a quick bite and drink. The service was good. Asked for a recommendation for a light beer, and the one provided was smooth and delicious. There aren't many vegetarian options, but they would have been up for providing something. I went for the veggie grilled cheese from the menu. It was a bit messy, but tasted great! The fries let it down a little for me being a bit cold and dry.

More welcoming than you might think

By NellyGinbert |

The outside of the Cedar door could look a little intimidating, but don't be fooled. Within the wooden box is a lively patio, and a large bright bar and restaurant. Prices are reasonable for Downtown Austin. I had the brisket tacos - yum!

After game stop

By Cindy H |

A large group of us dropped into the Cedar Door for a late night dinner and drinks after the UT game. The restaurant was quite busy but we were able to be seated at a large table on the patio. Other games were on the big screens which allowed us continue on with our football followings. Service was slow at first just due to the amount of people on the patio but when our waitress D’Mary did arrive she was very nice and helpful. Despite her being totally booked she was continually pleasant and had a smile on her face. The food was really good! The Cesar wrap and fries were tasty and the chicken quesadillas were delicious. Definitely a nice experience by a seasoned waitress. Thanks D’Mary for your help !

Great patio and service!

By Babette M |

Arrived around 9:15 on a Saturday night and were seated right away on the patio. There are heaters on the patio so it was pleasant. There were 5 of us and we had 3 entree salads, fish and ships and a burger. Salads were good and right portion size, burger was just ok and fish and chips were good and crispy. Our server Nicklaus was great! He was attentive, efficient and very nice! Thanks for the positive experience Nicklaus! We will be back!

Excellent Service and Food

By Ronda H |

We had a wonderful and fun server that made the nice outdoor experience even better. It was very good food. The fried chicken club sanwhich was wonderful. Everyone enjoyed their meal and drinks.

Great Local Place Close to Convention Center

By Bill S |

A little hard to find but worth it - great outdoor deck - well priced interesting bar food menu. Quinoa salad topped with seared tune and a couple of soft tacos were all wonderful. Bartender was friendly and attentive. Good selection of local micro brews. Good vibes all around I'll be back next time in Austin.

Fantastic burger. Good atmosphere. Two suggestions!

By ChappyPants |

I loved my burger. It was so good. The fries were also really good. They replaced the cheddar cheese with blue cheese crumbles for me at no cost. The dijon mustard they brought for the fries was also great. My service was really slow. I had a different server than everyone else outside. I saw their servers many times but mine barely at all. I think it was hard for him to get outside when everyone else he was serving was inside. But, the other servers went by several times and didn't even think to check on me, refill the empty drink, etc. They need to do a better job working as a team and getting that done. OK, one logistical issue as it intersects between food and building. The fans outside, which I believe are needed in a hot/humid Austin environment, are extremely high-powered. Not a problem. But when the burgers you have use shredded lettuce, as soon as the lettuce starts falling out, it actually gets pushed all over the place like confetti. No joke, the guys behind me were laughing because I had three or four pieces of lettuce that were hanging out of the burger and they were whipping around like a flag in a storm. So, not only did some of the stuff that fall out get pushed all over the floor, some of it ended up blowing on me. This was no longer clean lettuce. It was lettuce on a greasy burger. So then the grease ends up on the clothes. I think it might behoove them to change the type of lettuce to be in accordance with the awesome fans they have.

The food was great! The local Cider was great! The Hollywood fries were terrific! Regular fries will never be the same.

Quaint place for lunch

By Jessica C |

Stopped here by recommendation from a local hotel. Enjoyed the brisket tacos and guacamole/salsa. They have a nice patio that I wish I sat on after the fact! Was nice and quiet for a relaxing lunch.

Great place for drinks on the patio

By DocCP |

I was looking for a place to unplug during a conference at the JW. Place is right across the street. Outdoor patio was perfect. Happy hour begins at 4:00PM. Huge TV outdoors.

Good food, poor service

By waianaegirl |

We came here because it had gluten free options on the menu. Good food, nice outdoor seating area, but our waitress was rude.

Food stop

By Clfish1 |

Stopped in and had a Ruben sandwich. Halved it with my friend as it was large. Had a ruby red drink. Waitstaff was awesome.

A Truly Well Kept Secret

By John G |

I've traveled to Austin frequently over the years and have eaten in most of the restaurants in the downtown area. But when my hotel recommended this place, I had never heard of it. I took their recommendation, and I am so glad I did! The restaurant has a spacious outdoor patio and a comfortably situated indoor seating area. The widescreen TVs situated throughout the restaurant give the feel of a sports bar, but the food is anything but standard sports bar quality. Portion sizes are large and the quality of the food make this restaurant feel more like an upscale establishment rather than a regular bar. I started my meal with Tortilla Soup, and was pleasantly surprised at the cacophony of flavors offered. Great broth and no shortage of chicken, avocado and tortilla chips made this one of my favorite items. The Chicken Fried Chicken, mashed potatoes and bacon braised collard greens were A-MA-ZING!!! Overall, one of the best dining experiences I have had in many years in Austin! This restaurant is truly one of the most well-kept secrets in downtown Austin today! I highly recommend The Cedar Door!!

Lunch before the Bullock

By cbell11austin |

I really liked this restaurant. Server was attentive and the food was good. I had the fried chicken sandwich and my friend had the BBQ grilled cheese, we split the sandwiches and tried both. I preferred the chicken but both were good. Nice place with lots of history. They have a wall with pics of them moving the building to the current location. I recommend this place!

avocado heaven!

By justloveem |

cedar door was located close to our hotel and we popped in one night for some snacks and drinks. it was such a good choice! the fried avocado with lump crab on top was amazing!! the patio was a great atmosphere - we relaxed, had some beers, watched a baseball game on the very large outdoor tv. overall, we really enjoyed our time there. a great place to check out in this area of austin!

Brisket grilled cheese...pretty good

By MariaElena D |

Dinner was good. The hotel where i stayed recommended the restaurant and the grilled cheese The price was fair. Nice place. Portions were large. The brisket was tender and with a slight taste of bbq. It could have used a bit more cheese although i was satisfied and could not finish the sandwich. Service was a little slow but folks were pleasant.

Fantastic Service!!

By Alison G |

We sat in the bar area and the service was really great, the food was good and in most cities I would probably have rated it higher but competition is tough in Austin !! My husband really liked his burger and my tacos were good as well. There is plenty of outdoor seating and the entire place has a great atmosphere.

Very ok

By Jessica Perry |

The food was bland and drinks were very diluted. I would not be returning to this bar as there was absolutely no wow factor and the food was not ok. Menu and reviews sounded great but we were highly disappointed.

Mexican Martinis....

By Ross M |

Great Restaurant right next to our Hotel. The Mexican Martinis are great and go down way too quickly I think Food Prices are good for Austin BBQ Brisket Grilled Cheese good, Fish & Chips so-so , Pulled Pork Sandwich good Lively Patio area Ate there twice during our visit and would do so again..

Great happy hour and good was perfect

By TravelinWIGal |

The Ruby red cocktail was on happy hour special and it was delicious, was concerned that it would be too sweet but that's not the case. I had the southwest chicken sandwich, it was amazing! Patio is nice, service attentive, even though they were busy.

Corporate dinner for VIPs

By Stephen C |

We used the private room in the back, excellent venue. Food, service and over all experience were all 5! It is a secret gem in Austin, I highly recommend it.

Great food, nice vibe

By PDRS |

I was looking for a place to eat at 9pm. Lots of places were closed this was open. Really friendly and helpful staff & the food was great - not sure what food is like in Austin but I had dry rubbed wings and spicy tuna tacos - cheap and delicious. I am on my own on a biz trip - NFL on, nice relaxed vibe. Lovely. Highly recommended.

Entree and brew, very good

By Debra H |

Delicious brisket tacos with jalapeño cream sauce, highly recommended. Local beers on tap, also good. Cobbler of the day was peach. Not much flavor. Service was very kind and accommodating, but slow.

Not anything special - dry burger

By gsgman777 |

There was a group us (7) that went here before a work function. I can't speak for anyone else's food but mine was that special. Actually, pretty underwhelming. I had the Burger with fries, both of which were extremely salty. The burger was dry. Everyone else had these huge portions and I've seen bigger burgers from a fast food joint. Waiter seemed annoyed the second he came to the table, not friendly. Didn't like the vibe of the place at all.

Fun vibe. Food was slightly above average.

By kplmob |

We went with our 16 month old during s recent stay in Austin. Were there during happy hour. Food was better than average but nothing spectacular.

Quick lunch and a beer

By Leeford1275 |

Pretty cool place. Tacos were great. I wouldn’t say service was bad but it was slow. I think she was the only waitress working the dining area. I would definitely come back if I was staying downtown again.

Local-feeling, relaxed eatery

By raharrington85 |

I like the Cedar Door Patio Bar & Grill. The restaurant sits in a prominent location on the corner of Brazos Street and E 2nd Street—you can’t miss it. Walking around the area on a quiet Sunday, the music coming from Cedar Door attracted us to the location. Reception staff outdoors led us across one end of the expansive outdoor patio, past the indoor bar, and into the dining room areas. The service staff was very energetic and friendly. The drinks from the bar were very good. We stuck with appetizers and drinks, but overall the menu was an interesting assortment of southwest inspired dishes. The white wings was a good twist on buffalo wings. The trio of queso, guacamole, and salsa with corn chips was tasty. The chicken tortilla soup was rich and satisfying. The prices were fine. Overall, I rate Cedar Door Patio Bar & Grill as a decent value for the combination of great location, good service, good food and drinks, and relaxing atmosphere.

Horrible

By Brandy B |

Food is very sub bar, no better than gas station food. Tasteless. Dry. Tasted bland and old. Staff was rude.

Great food and atmosphere

By LSchumacher |

We loved the blackened mahi tacos. Plentyvof acreens for watching the Olympics! (Or your favorite team).

Close to the Marriott....we thought it would be good! :(

By 149sherried |

Most of the items on the menu they were"out of" it would have been easier to ask what they had available while we were there! We had a burger...nothing exciting... and it was not good.

Nice pub

By lornes39 |

Came to Austin to visit my fraternity brothers and catch a Longhorns game. This pub was close to my hotel and the hotel staff recommended it to me. Very friendly staff and amazing beers made locally in the state. The tacos were also delicious!

Home of the Mexican Martini

By Aerowing |

I heard about these so called Mexican martinis and wanted to have one where they supposedly originated. The indoor or outdoor seating. Nice looking place, close to the bat bridge on Congress. I sat at the bar and ordered the Mexican martini. It basically a margarita in a martini glass with an olive. I was given a shaker with the glass. The drink was tasty and strong. Nice. Bartender was friendly. Had a couple of the drinks then walked over to check out the bats. If you're looking for a good drink then I recommend this place.

Great place

By muskydawn |

Great rooftop bar with a great selection of beers we sampled a few along with some tasty bar snacks. Great music playing while we drinking. Had a good time and returned for another evening to sample the great Mexican martinis. Slower service the second night but there was some mix up with who was waiting which tables and the server was very apologetic once he realised. Will certainly visit again on our next trip

Good food, not the best I had in Austin, Good service

By Clarina P |

With some ill grace we asked to be seated inside when the outside became too cold, they left our drinks outside which we had to retreive. I think that for a while the watier forgot about us as they took a bit of time getting our order. Food was good but not memorable. With all the great places to eat in Austin not sure I would come back again

Poor selection

By Donna V |

We sat down, got our water and looked at our menus. No one said anything until I spoke up and said that there was nothing on this menu worth paying that amount of money for,. And, we left.

Went on a whim and enjoyed it

By Pittsburghparents |

Went here to get away from 'dirty 6th street'. UT game on, so great food and drink specials! Smoked wings were wonderful and taco selection was great. Nice outdoor dining with plenty of Television viewing for the game. A hidden gem on Brazos.

Everyone left happy!

By phat_dawg_21 |

We were a large group, twelve people, looking for dinner on a Sunday evening. This place was perfect. The menu was broad enough to satisfy everyone. I loved my chicken fried steak, and my wife was pleased with her healthier Caesar salad. Large portions, great value. Great selection of beers, also good Margaritas. Friendly, engaging staff!

Excellent lunch

By Sandy G |

Such a wonderful surprise in the city Great food and service Thank you Victor! Enjoyed his recommendations

Drinks and appetizer

By ARodriguezP |

Went for drinks and an appetizer before meeting friends for dinner. The white wings were pretty good,I had a Moscow mule which wasn't too bad but would've liked it in the now traditional copper mug and with a garnish instead of a plain old glass. Atmosphere seemed to be lacking. Just average for me,maybe a second try and I can rate better,I'll have to think about that with so many options in Austin!

Rehearsal Dinner

By 718unag |

We went with Cedar Door for our rehearsal dinner for 23 people on a Friday night. The service was attentive and they were able to to add an extra table quickly when we added a few more people for dinner. The drinks were great and the food was delicious. The drinks and appetizers came out quickly. Mexican Martinis, Hollywood fries, and the white wings were a big hit.

cool bar

By Kauff_210 |

we had a great night out here in Austin. nice atmosphere, cool space and good drinks. would go here again when visiting Austin!

Unbelievably Good Food

By Brian Smith |

Not the cheapest for lunch (spent $36.81 in total) but for those who eat out all the time, you will not be disappointed. My wife and I each had a beer (draught) and shared their White Quinoa Salad (absolutely to die for) and we shared a Reuben sandwich. The restaurant was clean, service excellent, and the atmosphere very conducive for a quiet conversation with my lovely wife. This was my wife's third visit and will definitely not be my last.

Cozy on a Cold Winter Night

By Bruce K |

We had an early dinner at his establishment. It was convenient and we were tired from a long day of travel and meetings. Casual atmosphere with diners of all ages. My wife enjoyed her Southwest Salad with blackened chicken and I had the quinoa with smoked brisket. We highly recommend the hot spinach and artichoke dip served with pita bread while enjoying one of their unique cocktails.

Cider available, great fries

By laur3nb |

Stopped here for a drink and a snack - lovely interior on a cold day with lots of room to handle our big party. Perfect french fries! They also had hard cider, which I appreciated. Definitely recommend as a casual spot to relax or meet friends.

Business

Cedar Door Patio Bar & Grill

By EvanGuthrie |

Cedar Door Patio Bar & Grill is st great option for delicious and flavorful food and drinks in a cool atmosphere. Great experience every time I have been here.

Strong Drink!

By Clare46408 |

We were at Cedar Door during Happy Hour and enjoyed the Mexican Martini for $8. It was delicious but beware - it is very strong. I had one glass of wine before going here and then this drink and got really drunk and sick afterward so I wouldn't advise mixing wine. Cedar Door is much larger inside than it looks and we enjoyed the casual vibe. Both my husband (who had the same drinks as I did and was OK) and I had the pork tenderloin medallions served with yummy mashed potatoes and a large side of asparagus. Our service was great and so was our meal!

Good Food - nice staff

By juliebfromindy |

My friend and I walked here from our hotel. Location is handicapped accessible via a ramp. You seat yourself, look at menu on phone, order and pay at bar and then they bring you your food. Location has both indoor and outdoor seating. We enjoyed some adult beverages which were delightful, some Hollywood fries, Cuban sandwich and a Fried chicken club. The Cuban was tasty not a true Cuban but still good. The fried chicken club was massive and full of flavor. Loved the Hollywood fries!! Wait staff cleared our dishes quickly and were very friendly. I would recommend coming in fir a bite!

Nice Bar

By Jim M |

Nice staff. Good beers. Good bar food. The Quinoa salad was good. The Rueben was huge. Our waitress was attentive even though it was a busy lunchtime crowd.

Great little out of the way spot

By Brian K |

Great spot a few blocks away from the craziness of 6th Street. Large patio if you want to sit outside, good size bar and dining area inside. Great tacos and sandwiches on the menu. We had the brisket grilled cheese and buffalo shrimp tacos. Both were excellent. Would definitely go back to try to eat my way through the menu. Good selection of local beers.

Bar food with friends and dogs

By travel_and_leisures |

Average bar food, friendly staff, nice digs to sit and relax outside. Can even bring your dog and just sit outside to have a beer. Mahi po boy was fine, salads are simple. Don't come as much for the food than to simply hang and have a drink on a nice day. Prices very reasonable.

Highly recommend

By Matthew M |

I loved it. It had a great vibe. Casual but nice. Everyone was super friendly. Food and drinks were good on the deck. Reasonable prices, particularly for the area. They were super nice with a baby. I would definitely go back.

Went for the Happy Hour!

By TheAboutExperience |

Stumbled upon this place walking back to my hotel from the convention center and I'm glad I did. The happy hour specials are great and the bartenders are fantastic! It had a very laid back, but semi-professional atmosphere. I can't say much about the food since I was there for just the drinks, but the Fried Mushroom appetizer I did order was fantastic. If you want a place to have a few drinks and an enjoyable atmosphere, I highly recommend this place considering I went back here a couple of more times before I left Austin!

Super terrace, nice food and service

By Nico260 |

I was drawn in here by the music which played out into the street, and the promise of somewhere nice to sit outside. I was not disappointed. I was given a table outside as soon as I arrived, and the waiter helped me to choose a good beer. I had a delicious brussels sprouts salad with brisket on the side. A generous portion without being overwhelming. They didn't rush me even though I was just one person on a table that would have seated four. All those around me seemed pretty happy too. Would certainly come again.

Great Food

By Shug40 |

This is a great place to eat in Austin. Was within walking distance from our hotel so we decided to try it. The food was excellent. Great service. Would definitely try it again.

Great pub!

By cardave413 |

The location has a relaxing ambiance with a casual indoor and patio dining area. The staff is affable and attentive. For being a pub, the food was very good - the fish tacos, Brussels sprouts and brisket grilled cheese were flavorful. Overall a very good dining experience.

Great atmosphere

By Leslie F |

We stumbled upon this restaurant in Austin. We had chips and queso for starters and each had a salad for dinner. The location and the outdoor patio were great. The food was pretty good as well. Overall a great place to enjoy dinner!

Nice place to grab a quick bite.

By golfingfuninthesun |

Good place to grab a quick bite. Bar food with a nice deck with plenty of umbrellas to keep you in the shade.

Great outdoor seating, good food

By Spelunk11 |

This is a nice little place. Order all your food at the bar then have a seat on the patio and the food will make it to you. Reasonably priced. While I stoped by this place for a quick bite alone I can see this would be a good place to hang out with some friends and have a couple beers. The Fish tacos had some kick to them . Very good.

2 different events

By Virginia M |

Attended a reception at which excellent crab cakes were served. The desserts selection was also good. The other event, which was for our state, was a bit disappointing as we had ordered beef and ended up with pork. Most didn't mind. Again, good desserts. Both events had great waitstaff.

Nice atmosphere

By amanda3047 |

Great drinks, nice atmosphere, really nice patio. We were just strolling through downtown and decided to stop for a drink.

A quiet spot for dinner

By BOVCAT |

Not a lot of sit down restaurants in the area so Cedar is a comfortable spot with decent menu choices. Patio would be great in mild weather.

Great beef tacos....

By Peter P |

Friendly staff, great food, really enjoyed my time there and will be back. My one concern about this place is the mens bathroom. It smelled, I dont know if it needed more ventilation or air purifier or plumbing work, but I was kind of surprised it was not cleaner. Bar it self was kind of hot, but it was very nice outside.

Super cool place

By kehoe99 |

We stopped by this amazing place for a bite to eat with friends. The food was delicious and the staff were incredible! I asked for chocolate milk for my daughter and, though they didn’t have any on the menu, they went out if their way to make some for her….and didn’t even charge us for it. Such a wonderful experience, great food, and cool atmosphere. So highly recommend!!

Great sidewalk cafe

By Krista R |

Fun place to have lunch kick back have a few drinks or beers and watch "weird Austin" go by. The salads are good. Had the chicken and and baby kale. Tasty but somewhat typical. Would keep to the appetizer and drinks. Prices for downtown Austin are really reasonable also. Do have to watch out around the area still for homeless unfortunately seems to be a problem in the area.

good for after dinner

By DawnShip |

We stopped in here after our dinner at Vince Young's to close out our night. The bartenders were great, and our drinks tasted delicious. The management was a little pushy getting us out at closing, but I am sure that is the law. The décor was cool and the drinks good, so sure 4 stars from me!

Food was fine, atmosphere was fine. it's fine.

By Brian F |

Went for dinner on a Wednesday night about 7:30. The place was busy, not overly crowded and as I was by myself for a work trip I grabbed a spot at the bar. Had some local beer, was pretty good. Ordered the blackened tuna tacos. They were okay, the wasabi sour cream was actually really the best part about them. The tuna was a little tough, I would have preferred small avocado slices rather than just the one big hunk. Service was okay - a little slow but again, nothing crazy. All in all, the place was fine, I don't feel a strong urge to rush back when I'm in town again.

Great Lunch!

By melirouge |

We stopped here after a very long day of bike riding and was pleasantly surprised. I had the strawberry limeade drink, arugula salad and tuna. It was refreshing and delicious. My husband had the fish tacos and loved them also. The atmosphere was beautiful.

Not a great experience. Service was ok, not great.

By Sarge56 |

Food was so-so. Pricey for what we ordered. Shrimp in the pasta was overcooked. The grilled brie had hardly any ingredients in it other than the brie.

Great relaxing experience

By Seaside38945305167 |

Decent food and cocktails, great informal atmosphere, friendly service. Em was great. I come here every year and never regretted.

***Attention Owners/Management***

By David F |

Unfortunately we had a poor experience at Cedar Door. We used to love coming here to eat, but it seems that either it has come under new ownership or management because it has been a downhill slide for Cedar Door. Yesterday we noticed a waiter with long blond hair just standing at a table for a very long time and never left to go take care of his other tables. Finally the host had to come get him and let him know that he was needed by his customers. We normally order the Arugula Salad which has always been exceptional until recently. The amount of Arugula Salad as an Entree is about the same as a side salad for a separate Entree. The Arugula Salad is on a small plate and the side salad is in a bowl. I hope the owners/management reads this review and takes action soon to improve the service and portion size of the Arugula Salad.

Best salads ever

By michellemitchell143 |

Ate here and had the very best salad anyone could wish for. The pricing was reasonable but the atmosphere and service was superb!

Great food, great service!

By Mylissa R |

Great food, great service! Our server was Josh, and he was awesome! We sat outside and enjoyed our time here. One of our favorite dinners while in Austin!

Solid Place

By Bud K |

Had dinner at the bar with Brett the bartender. Place seemed a little old school and a little local that are both good. Hand packed burger was great. Brought friends there a couple of nights later.

DELICIOUS!!! Big portions, great fun atmosphere.

By Shan B |

This is one of my new favorites in Austin. We had a party of 7, got seated right away and it only went up from there. The spicy margarita couldn't be beat. Large size, they gave you the shaker to refill your glass and the price was right! We started with Guacamole, salsa, queso trio which was delicious. Some entrees were brisket grilled cheese, Brussel sprout tacos, brisket tacos and some sides. Everything was delicious, large servings and price is very low compared to most places in the area. I will go here every time I stay in Austin!!

ACL weekend 2

By TammyA0815 |

We visited on Sunday for lunch and to watch some football. Appetizers were nice, drinks were plentiful and our meals were tasty. Atmosphere was perfect sitting outside enjoying the fall weather. Would definitely visit again.

Great vibe

By AJICE |

The vibe outside was great outside, the standalone heaters are a nice touch. The staff is friendly, the drinks are good and for us the location was perfect. Just a bit pricey.

Great place to eat and hang out

By armando |

We came across this place while going to the shuttle buses for ACL weekend and we decided to stop and give it a try. It did not disappoint the chips salsa and queso were amazing and the burgers we got were so delicious!! We loved it so much we came back to eat after the festival. Great atmosphere and great service a must when in Austin.

Good service, great tacos

By CruisingColleen |

I went here for a quick dinner because it's right across the street from my hotel, the JW Marriott. The atmosphere is really laid back: Good outdoor seating, TVs with sports on, dogs galore on the patio. It has a nice beer list, and great tacos. Loved the Bahn Mi taco with pork belly. It was wonderful for a quick bite.

Outside in January with a cold beverage and apps!

By hunterhersh |

On a recent trip to Austin I found myself looking for a late afternoon bite to eat and a cold beverage. It was a nice day so I was looking for a place outside to enjoy the weather. The menu was short but it was 4pm. Apps were cheap but the flavor was good. TV's were available on the patio for viewing. It was a nice place in downtown Austin.

Indoor Or Outdoor Fun, Food & Drinks

By Geotreo |

I met with friends and co-workers here while we were attending the convention a few blocks away. Very friendly, informative staff, extremely well stocked bar and yummy food. I missed the music though we were inside and then moved on. Tell me how it sounds there. Enjoy, I did!

Yummy tacos, great patio!

By swinglo_1 |

Great location, had the shrimp tacos and they were delicious! Messy, but oh so yummy! Good draft beer menu, nice staff, patio was lovely worth great music at the perfect volume where people could still talk easily but also hear the words. TV screens w sports, dog friendly and great place.

Really good

By Alejandra G |

Everything was excellent but the mexican corn had a lot of oil on it.....the mahi mahi tacos were amazing

Food good, service not so much

By jessjjmc |

We enjoyed our food but had service issues. The appetizer came out with the food. Drink refills were rare. Then when we were ready to go, nobody could find our waitress so we could pay. Super irritating.

Flavorful

By Victoria B |

Our first night in Austin and my husband and I found the Cedar Door. We had very flavorful meal and some lovely drinks. We really enjoyed the Southwest Chicken and BBQ Brisket Grilled Cheese. I had a difficult time choosing a drink and went with the Irish Mule and was not disappointed. Atmosphere was nice. Too cold to sit outside and it was raining earlier in the day. Wait staff was very attentive and we did not wait to be seated. I included a photo of our meal with a few bites taken.

Was hoping for better, but they just missed.

By RDBAz |

Based on a recommendation that they had great chicken fried steak, I stopped in for lunch, specifically to try it. Unfortunately, this just did not live up to the hype. Maybe I have had great chicken fried steak at so many other places, but this version did not quite make it. It was a very good piece of meat, but the outside coating was bland and did not really adhere to the steak. The steak itself was just warm, and the country gravy, which had great consistency, had very little flavor. None of the sausage zip or pepperiness that one expects from country gravy. The Yukon mashed potatoes were fine, but nothing out of the ordinary. The collard greens were probably the best part of the meal, which is usually not a good sign when that is the side dish, not the entrée. Perhaps other items on their menu are better, but this one just missed the boat.

Nice patio

By Paul S |

I ate at Cedar Door twice during my trip to Austin. I liked the patio dining and the large screen TV. The brisket tacos that I had were tasty but came with no sides. In general, the menu seems to be focused on appetizers and salads. Service on 1 trip was good and the second trip was a little slow. They served a good variety of beers and cocktails. Customers were allowed to smoke at the tables on the patio which was a little annoying.

Big yummy meals

By Lisa Hartnell |

The service was friendly and super fast here. Great having some gluten free options that isn't just a salad. Had the turkey burger which was very tasty and big! Husband loved the craft beers available too.

Booked the Longhorn Room in Mid-October for a luncheon for 70+ people. GREAT EVENT

By Jerry Lieberg |

Have been doing events like this for 15+ years across the country. Attendees said this was the best food they could remember. Worked with Charly Pope - Director of Sales. She was wonderful to work with. I hope I can find venues with sales directors like Charly and food like the Cedar Grill for my next event - Phoenix after the first of the year.

Great Lunch

By Mike E |

In a recent business trip I had a great hamburger and hand cut french fries lunch on the terrace of this restaurant. The outside sitting area and the food were great, service was pleasant and very efficient. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Lovely burger and excellent margarita

By petra3continents |

The place was quiet as we were there just past the lunch-time rush. Loved the woodwork inside the restaurant. Beer was chilled and margarita was good. Fries slightly dry, but burgers really very tasty. A nice place to come for a meal. No problem finding parking either, a miracle in Austin.

Send waitstaff faster

By David C |

Great food and drinks once someone finally comes to take your order. Went here 2x, Friday at Happy Hour and Saturday for lunch. Both times it took 5-10 minutes before waitstaff came to the table. Once we were waited on the experience was fine.

Great patio for drinks and lunch

By Paul McDowell |

Stopped by for lunch drawn by the nice patio area, but actually ate inside. There is a bit of history here and atmospheric. Staff are very friendly and engaging in a good way. Service was attentive, but nicely restrained. Chicken and corn soup was very tasty, but beware as a meal in itself. It could have been a little warmer - a minor quibble. Followed up with Thai tuna tacos. These were delicious, but unfortunately they had run out of wasabi and I missed that kick. Good selection of beers, where my server gave good guidance. Overall, a great spot.

Good late lunch !

By IllinoisRiverRat |

We had a really nice lunch on a Saturday. Very nice waitress, I had blackened tuna 🌮 with a stout beer draw. It was all good and right in downtown Austin. Parking is the only challenge.

Just ok

By Jerry L |

Just ok. Right downtown Austin. Regular full bar with some taps. Food good but nothing special. Could use a good cleaning.

Always good food and friendly service

By Bubbos |

We visit Austin every year and never miss a chance to eat at the Cedar Door. The food is always great - large portions, great taste and good selection. The staff is super friendly. Can't go wrong.

Nice bar with good outdoor areas

By Tony H |

This bar is right downtown and offers indoor and outdoor spaces. The usual drink and beer options are available and they have a decent sized party room available for rental or private parties.

Delicious club sandwich

By Julian H |

Just popped in here for a quick bite before lozing my soul on 6th street. Happened to order a beer and club sandwich, which to this date is the best club sandwich i have come across. Excellent friendly staff and good vibe in the restaurant bar.

Mixed feelings about service and food

By DiagonAlleywaze |

There's a sign on the patio entrance that tells you to wait to be seated. We waited, but no one came out. We let them know that let them know that there were two parties outside waiting to be seated (another party was waiting before us). We asked to be seated inside because we noticed not a single server came to check on anyone sitting outside. Once we were seated, the service was pretty great. The food I ordered was okay, but it didn't really stand out compared to the other restaurants I've tried in Austin. On our way out, we did notice that a server was finally posted at the "Wait to be seated" sign.

Just drinks

By Bontrot |

Nice setting right in the heart of downtown and close to 6th street and all that action. Just stopped in for drinks early afternoon. Wait staff was very attentive and welcoming.

Event Planning $ Outrageous Markups!!

By FellowTraveler263315 |

Beware! If you are scheduling an event at Cedar Door and you order alcohol (i.e. wine) that they don’t normally stock then they will order from their wholesaler. Their markup is outrageous. Remember they are buying it at Wholesale! I was charged 400% to 600% plus they added 22% gratuity on top of there unbelievable markup. On top that they added their 22% gratuity on wine they didn’t serve. I thought their pricing and markups were way out of line. I won’t be coming back. They got to me once, not again!

Awesome patio bar by looks, but didn't meet expectations...

By Amit |

Its a good time to spend with friends away from a sunny day. Its a patio style restaurant with lot of options, but lacks Chicken varieties. Good for steak lovers!! I wish the wait staff would have been a little smiling/welcoming to make the environment pleasant. It took a extended time to delivery the dish and really not suggested if you need to run into a meeting right after lunch.

Drinks and bar food

By Sorcha_a |

Stopped in for a drink and ended up having a bar snack too. I’m vegan so food options are often limited but they were happy to adapt dishes to suit and I had a great salad which was really tasty. My partner had the dry rub chicken wings and he said they were good too.

Okay

By Cherry_Wonderdog |

Decent bar across the street from the JW Marriott. We went here for drinks and a snack right before leaving for the airport. I had a mixed drink special with grapefruit juice that didn’t sit well with me, and the guy at the bar took it off my tab without me even asking him. I also ordered a cup of homemade chicken tortilla soup, with a spicy broth, roasted veggies, sliced avocado, cotija, and ortilla strips. Overall, it was pretty good but could have been hotter. Ambiance here was alright, although the minimal clientele raised an eyebrow or two. It’s wasn’t too cold inside which was a relief. Pretty darn hot outside on the patio, but at least they had one for hearty guests. From my limited data sample, I’d say this was an average performance.

Very friendly service, great meal

By Courtney P |

I went to this restaurant with a few of my friends when we were visiting Austin and the waiter was excellent. He was very friendly and was giving us ideas for things to do while we were in the city. The food was delicious (all of us got something different), and the drinks are quite big for the price, which is always a plus!

Great Banh Mi Tacos

By Betsy P |

Went here while attending a conference in Austin. I ordered the pork belly Banh Mi Tacos. They were wonderful. The service was super fast and pleasant. Prices were reasonable. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent dinner

By ARV |

We needed a nearby, good meal and we found it! Fish and chips were delicious, Cheeseburger was perfectly prepared- juicy and wonderful. Dessert was even better. We had their s'mores, which was large enough to split and could not have been better! Heaven!

Great patio and good foid

By tmiller461 |

Watched the ball game on the patio. Nice large outdoor area. Had the shrimp tacos and they were yummy. Also had a Mexican martini, equally yummy.

Good drinks and dinner

By feuermedic |

Food was excellent, staff was friendly. The chili sauce bacon brussel sprouts, brisket grilled cheese and brisket tacos were top notch and reasonably priced.

Awesome chips (fries)

By JiriK74 |

We went there after seemingly endless flight from London on Sunday evening and were not disappointed! Got BBQ sandwich which was great (how else, it's Texas), but chips were surprisingly good. After mentioning it to service, they told me that chips are home cut and fresh fried. Awesome! Margarita was just average. Would go for beer next time (Austin Amber or Shiner's).

Great Party thanks to Cedar Door

By 409Bluerose |

I hosted a 35-person dinner party and the Cedar Door staff was awesome. They worked with me and addressed my concerns. They made a great party even greater. The food was marvelous, the waitstaff extra accommodating, the atmosphere festive....there is no way my party could have gone better! Bonus: The food was so awesome that some of the people returned the next day for lunch or dinner.

Great vibe

By Kate L |

Went on a whim whole I'm Austin, the white wings which were fantastic. Definitely recommend, don't get the happy hour portion, spend the extra $4 for the full size portion. The smore dessert was amazing, chocolate was a little hard but the dessert as a whole was a delicious treat.

Great place close to everything

By coonrapidsduo |

We were visiting Austin, Texas, for the first time and staying at a hotel nearby, so we decided to stop in to this bar and restaurant for a late lunch. Our server, Tori, was super sweet and very attentive. The food was also quite good. My husband had the brisket tacos which he loved. I just had a plain burger and fries, but they were very good as well. Really good spot right downtown not far from the convention center and many of the hotels if you want to stop in for a fun bar with good food!

Very good!!

By AhAnAsh |

My brother told me I had to try this place because they had "the best brisket tacos." We ordered the trio of salsa, queso, and guac. The salsa was okay, queso was decent, but the guacamole was really good. My husband ordered the southwest chicken sandwich and fries. The fries are house made and very good. I decided to try the buffalo shrimp tacos. They were excellent. Not too spicy and an awesome combination of shrimp, buffalo, blue cheese, and crunch. I like the layout of the restaurant as well. Nice inside and outside seating. I'd come here again.

Great Happy Hour Grub n Pub

By davidswc |

Happy Hour Wednesday-Friday has $5 Hollywood Fries, fresh-cut potatoes with herbs and Parmesan. Awesome! Also for $5, White Wings, chicken and Jalapeno wrapped in Bacon, yum. The regular wings were not on HH, but got the dry rub and they were cooked to perfection. $15 pitchers of Lone Star. No table servers, you order at bar and they bring it to you. Definitely recommend for quick finger food appetizers.

Austin Supper........

By Ann S |

Location good for us. Light supper was tasty. Service was EXCELLENT!!! on the negative side - a little too noisy for us.

Service is Trash...

By B E |

Service is trash but the chips and guacamole are so good that as long as you know the service will suck everything will be alright. Food: the smoked turkey wrap lacked flavor. The tacos were amazing and bursting with flavor. The guacamole is the best that I have tasted although I didn’t know that they sprinkle the top with cheese (told them not to). Atmosphere: very pretty inside and upscale bar appearance. Recommend all tacos and the chips and guacamole!!!

Great late night menu

By berdiep |

This is a great place to visit for cocktails and late night menu. We tried it out after watching the Austin bats. Good food, great drinks and service.

Private Party held at Cedar Door

By cjs4 |

Cedar Door--- Wow-- We have had our company party at Cedar Door for 3 years in a row and we keep coming back! Attendance for the party is around 80 and the venue works perfect. Charley Pope is attentive to all the details in planning the party and always comes off seamless. The food was great! The bar Staff was absolutely amazing! The guests at the party always talk about what a great time they had and what a great set up! Thanks again Cedar Door for an amazing party! We will be back!

A nice, very casual place.

By Florida Peggy |

There is no table service, i.e. you order at the bar and they bring you your dinner. It's very casual and the food is not exciting.

Great Atmosphere, Even Better Mexican Martinis

By Thetipsydutchman |

I recently stopped by Cedar Door on a Saturday. I arrived right at 12 noon when they were opening. I had the entire outdoor patio to myself. Sports, Mexican martinis, queso and sunshine. Can’t beat it!! I had the Jalapeño Mexican Martini. I would definitely recommend. I’ve been to Cedar Door plenty of times but usually during happy hour on a Friday and the atmosphere is lively with the downtown Austin work crowd. Cedar door is a great place to meet friends or co-workers for a drink.

Tasty soft tacos

By Scotty A |

I had very tasty brisket soft tacos. The sauce and the brisket worked well together. I also experienced the best margarita of my trip here. They make it in a tumbler cup and you pour into a martini glass. You get at least two glasses full. Really yummy margarita! One note they only allow two per customer.

Wow! Bring an appetite!

By Tony B |

Had lunch with family on the patio. The service was great and the food was outstanding. Of note was the Fried Chicken Club; it was as delicious as it was huge. Also, the Crispy Sweet Chili Brussel Sprouts appetizer was insanely tasty! Will be back when in town again.

A Margarita Martini!

By Lv2CSun |

I was invited to a casual business dinner at the Cedar Door which is apparently a famous local hang out. The tuna tacos were quite good although difficult to eat in a business setting. The service was very good.

Bomb Buffalo Shrimp tacos

By poseyt2016 |

This place was literally one of the best stops I had while In Texas. I really enjoyed my dish. I went with a nice size group and they all enjoyed both their drinks and their dinner dishes. My self and a colleague agreed that our dinner choice here was the best from our entire stay. Their food was so good. We also had a awesome waiter that was really nice and friendly. The outdoor seating was pretty comfortable as well!

Fantastic bar/restaurant

By Jacky P |

We visited Austin for the first time ( from Wales… the UK) in September for 7 nights We stumbled across this bar/restaurant on our first night and returned every night of our holiday/vacation The ambiance, the food ( especially the brisket tacos & dry rub wings ), and service was faultless

Disappointing Service

By Benjamin G |

The service in this restaurant was disappointingly slow, and we were shocked to see that staff took far too long to clean the tables near us when other customers had left. As a result we were surrounded by filthy tables covered in dirty plates for the majority of our meal. We were hoping for a quick meal so we could make it down to the bridge to see the bats coming out for the night, but the food took over 40 minutes to appear, and even then they had forgotten our fries so these took another 5 minutes to arrive. The food was reasonable but not great, and although our server was not rude, she did seem distracted and was not very attentive. Although this was not a terrible meal, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant if you have somewhere to be afterwards, but one thing I would say is that the prices are reasonable.

Best Burger & Fries in Austin, Texas

By 25Mary52 |

We absolutely LOVED the Brazos burger and French fries at Cedar Door in downtown Austin! In four days-we ate at Cedar Door three times! Wait staff is friendly & efficient-you MUST visit Cedar Door when in Austin!

Great outdoor patio

By kkm68 |

Had some delicious nachos and drinks here on the patio watching football. Great service and lots of seating. Inside looked very big too
