Great happy hour. Best tuna tartare ever.

By Chloe D |

This Korean-fusion restaurant is on the first floor of the Paramount. We stopped in for happy hour and loved their happy hour menu. Their pork Bulgogi sliders, chicken wings and tuna tartare were all worth a second visit.

Excellent Food, but noisy

By PackFan320 |

We were staying at the hotel that adjoins this restaurant and on a rainy night, instead of venturing out, we went next door. It was simply amazing! Their Happy Hour is incredible with great prices. I had the pork sliders and wings. My husband got the spare ribs (off the regular menu) and they were outstanding. My only complaint was the noise. We were there on a weeknight, and the place was packed. No worries there, but the tables are so close together that everyone's conversation around you is now yours. We had a table of 4 women next to us, 2 of them on the phone, and between them and the 2 guys next to us, I literally could not hear my husband talking to me across the table. That being said, I would return here in a heartbeat. The food definitely is worth another visit.

Great quality food

By Toby B |

Could be a little difficult to see as the sign doesn't stand out but it's in a road leading off the pike place market. I'm a vegetarian and had fried rice cake in sweet chilli sauce, blistered peppers and mushroom vermicelli All were delicious but the sauce with the peppers was addictive. The meat fished looked good and the meat eaters said all the food was fantastic. They had some nice rating mocktails too. Happy hour is from 5 Thumbs up

Absolutely wonderful dining experience

By Yumi P |

This restaurant is very popular but isn’t very spacious. I suggest you go early if you don’t want to wait. From the appetizer to the most delicious desert (ginger creme brûlée), everything was delicious. Service was also great .

Modern Korean, good atmosphere

By L. R. |

Staff is friendly, 15 min wait for seats at the bar around 7pm. Bulgogi sliders were the highlight, spicy, savory and succulent - a little on the salty side. Steak tatare met expectations, the pears in it were a little dry. The cauliflower gratin was covered with a sauce that was too salty. The hangover kimchi soup was good although not much kimchi taste in it, more like beef stew. All in all a good experience, the atmosphere in that place is superb.

Great Modern Korean

By Jieun K |

Menu is not extensive but it appears that every dish they prepare are exceptional quality. Really good flavor with modern twist. Place was packed and we opted for bar seating. will definitely try again and recommend to anyone!

Way overrated

By Elaine H |

The food was ok, not special. The wait was absurdly longer than hostess had estimated. One member of our group needed gluten free fare; the options were extremely limited and the staff less than accommodating. A weak, watery, and uninteresting cocktail clinched the mediocrity. All in all, a bit of a tourist trap.

Ginger creme brûlée

By NikaNumber1 |

Came here for a fall trip after a walk around the market. Settled on some wine, could have grabbed a bottle from behind me, but only wanted a glass. My friend and I ordered the radish kimchi jar, ahi tuna tartare, fried oysters, braised short rib, bulgogi beef sliders, kimchi hangover soup, less the pork and finished with the candied ginger creme brûlée. The service was good. We were seated right away. It’s a small cozy and quaint spot. The kimchi jar, fried oysters and the kimchi stew all tasted decent. My friend enjoyed his tuna, short rib and bulgogi sliders, even though it seemed he was eating for two, then again his sense of taste isn’t as refined to me. It’s a nice ambiance and spot by the markets.

Tasty food in a central location

By maida22 |

Great food here, good for those new to Korean food. Atmosphere is a bit lacking. We ate at 8 on a holiday weekend and the place was half empty. Happy, helpful staff who can guide you through the menu if needed.

A great find! Nice location, decor, hostesses and yummy food!

By karena |

Fantastic, we had only 3 nights for dinner and ended up here two of the three nights. The service was great, especially Robyn and Sophia! We absolutely loved the rice bowls with bulgogi and chicken and the atmosphere is cool and upbeat. Highly recommend!

Small and cozy spot with fantastic modern food!

By Henning K |

Hey, We were lucky to get a spot here in a rainy Wednesday. A beautiful and small place, filled with people and life. The food were just fantastic..... i cannot say anything else. Please share meals, you will get so much more out of the experience. im still drooling!

Delicious

By ctny |

The food here is delicious and the black cod was one of the best I’ve ever had. The restaurant is small and they don’t take reservations so get ready to wait but it’s totally worth it.

Great food

By Ken L |

Ordered a variety of dishes to share to sample a good portion of the menu. Food was great and the service was good as well. Good flavours in all the dishes!

Amazing Korean food

By ChrisB |

Amazing meal. We had the rice cake appetizer and soup which were both good. The rice cake with beef cheeks and the “spaetzel” were the stars of the show, both being amazing. The duck also receives honourable mention I will definitely be going back

Great choice

We stopped by to have a nice meal, we loved it. The food is delicious and very nice atmosphere. Recommend

New favourite restaurant!

By Amy M |

Incredible!! Everything from the spicy rice cakes to the chicken wings to the drinks were fantastic! The biminbap is a must!!

Hidden gem!

By MarsTheWorldTraveler |

Went there randomly after reading some reviews, and they were all true! Arrived right before 6pm and it was full so we took a drink outside while waiting. Got out table about 15 minutes later. Service was fast, food was awesome and so cheap during happy hour! Menu is limited but everything we tried was very good. A real little hidden gem!

Fun new find near Pike Place Market

By Billy L |

We're were looking for something different near Pike Place Market and already turned away by Radiator Whiskey for having a kid in our group (Radiator is set up as a bar so kids not allowed). Ran across Chan just down the street which had substantial waitlist. Decided to stay as the aromas wouldn’t let us go. Bottom line: Food was great. Not too expensive for the touristy area and the fusion menu fits well. I read some comments about ruining traditional Korean cuisine…well, there’s not a lot of “traditional” Korean customers in the area so this style is perfect for the young professional locals and multicultural tourists. We tried a wide variety of dishes and what stood out were the sliders, wings, seafood pancake and don’t forget the homemade kimchi. We did a soju flight but unfortunately I can’t recommend a favorite as everyone at our table favored a different taste. The wait was longer than expected but we had a good time , enjoyed the food and service was prompt and friendly.

Fantastic!

By Larry W |

Amazing meal! Everything was so good. I am a Korean food snob and this place was great! Not a "traditional" Korean restaurant in that they don't give you a bunch of sides, but it did not matter. The spicy pork bulgogi had squid and duk and it was sooo great. Bibim nap rice was perfectly crispy. Will definitely come back. Restaurant is small so you need to get there at 5 when it opens. Nice happy hour selection from 5 to 630.

Amazing!!

By Audrey S |

The food here is amazing. Highly recommend. Everything we ordered was phenomenal. Great place for any occasion. Small. Quiet. Stellar food

Chan, Best Korean

By postal49740 |

Everything we tried was better than the last. Short ribs, kimchi, bibimbap and our favorite, seafood pancake, were extraordinary. Truly enjoyed the food and attentive service by Crystal. Small place, big on, "terrificness." Great teamwork by staff.

Cozy little Korean restaurant next the The Inn at the Market

By SusaDogue |

We wandered into this restaurant on a rainy night and were not disappointed. Although the place was packed, we only waited a few minutes for a table. The food was excellent and the service was friendly and efficient. They also have an excellent happy hour with great dishes at half price.

Definitely a must eat

By Barbie4est |

We are adventurous spicy foodies so we totally enjoyed both the food and the lovely presentation at Chan. My personal favorite were the sliders! Interesting and tangy! This isn't indicative of the presentation as my husband was a bit anxious to dive into our food when it arrived! We took the waitress' suggestions and were not disappointed.

A very good korean restaurant

By Anders H |

They open at 5 and don't take reservations so we were there at 5. The service was very good and the food fantastic with a lot of taste. We hade slides and spicy chickenwings which we recommend. The menue isn't extensive but we think that most will find something. Recommend this place.

Best Korean Fusion in Seattle!!

By Nikko |

This was out second trip to Chan Seattle. On our first trip we ate here twice in one night. Late lunch early dinner happy hour. Food was amazing as always. Super authentic Korean Fusion and it well work the visit!

Part of foodie tour

By t c |

We were introduced to this place as part of a foodie tour. Fairly small but the food was delicious. And they make in house specialty drinks.

Can't be beat.

By Anna D |

Being adventurous foodies, we were on the hunt for the perfect meal and decided on Chan. Best decision of the trip! We were blown away by the flavours, presentation, and quality of the food - incredible bang for your buck. The service was attentive and we really loved the timely presentation of food - enjoying one dish at a time really allowed us to savour all the goodness of each plate (A+ to the Ahi poke, Steak tartare, Pork Belly and Bibimbap) and as soon as we were finished one dish, the next was sitting in front of us. Drinks were also lovely. Can't recommend this gem more, wish we could take it back to BC with us!

Incredible meal

By flybysts |

Such an incredible meal at Chan. Enjoyed the spicy beef sliders, chicken wings and omg the poke!! Had to try the rice cakes too. Spicy broccoli was delicious too. That’s all this girl could fit in Phew! A must go while in Seattle.

Enjoyed everything

By Doug K |

We had a good time, ate at the bar, the servers and bar tender were all great. The food was very good. Plates are great for sharing.

Not authentic Korean, more of a fusion...but excellent

By ppts |

For those looking for authentic traditional Korean food, this is not the place for it. It is a fusion Korean or something like that. Call it whatever, it is excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes. The Korean pancake and bulgogi does not resemble any Korean food I've had before, but it taste wonderful. Even the rice is interesting (they serve rice cakes which my kids says looks like little earplugs). It is very loud, seating is very tight, and a busy hoping place. Service is still very good. Reasonably priced for what you are getting. They do not take reservation, so show up by 5:30 or so because the wait can be quite long, even on a week night. Only down side is that vegan options are very limited. Highly recommend otherwise.

Dinner in downtown Seattle

By Leslie |

New experience for most of our group. Very good food & service. Not too long a wait. Digest while enjoying the waterfront!!!

delicious modern Korean

By OssiHK |

Despite being a popular restaurant, the wait wasn't very long and we got a nice spot at the bar. We had the bulgogi sliders, hang-over soup (despite not being hung over), beef tartare Korean style and cauliflower with fermented beans. The beef tartare was excellent and the other dishes were very good as well, with the tiny caveat that the cauliflower was too salty. Having lived in Korea, I am normally not a fan of Korean Fusion or modern interpretation of Korean food, but Chan pulled it off - it convinced me.

Very nice

By RamblingRambler |

Cosy place with good food and nice staff. The bibimbap was great and probably a full meal for one person.

Fun, Energetic Vibe, Tasty

By jtssea |

This is a very tiny place but it is extremely efficient. It gets packed and full at Happy hour. The beef sliders are the best item on happy hour. They have well balanced bold flavors. Other items were tasty and on point but not as full pectrum but nice. Portions are small. Large menu. The drinks were adequate at times , and a few were lacking. Some were very small. We will go back at a non happy hour time to see how that changes things.

Worth the wait ...

By 811frankv |

This place has excellent food. We had to wait about 1 hour but it was worth it. All the dishes look great and taste great. Nice ambience as well.

Seriously Very Good Food

By OneOfTheSisters |

We enjoyed dinner here during their regular happy hour between 5pm-6.30pm. It was lively with all tables full and that added to the atmosphere. The food was beautifully presented, the service was excellent and there were also a number of great drinks specials. The chicken wings are seriously good with great flavour and a good kick of spiciness! We also really enjoyed the tuna poke which was not seasoned but was therefore a great contrast to the other dishes. The beef bulgogi and spicy pork sliders were tasty and the fried rice cakes were new to us and came in an excellent sauce. Definitely recommended and during happy hour it was incredible value as well!

Excellent Korean food in Pike Place Market

By Jason P |

I don't have a ton of experience with Korean food but this place is a true find - a hidden gem if you will. Tucked away in a courtyard within Pike Place Market, Chan is one of the only places in downtown Seattle where you can find truly upscale Korean food. Many of the dishes are classics with a modern twist and with fresh produce and meats brought in directly from the market. Whether you are here from out of town looking for something interesting and off the beaten path, or a local looking for a romantic, hidden spot to impress your date - Chan has it all. Highly recommended.

Yum, Just Yum

By Culture812596 |

Picking what you want to eat or drink is impossible! Everything on the menu reads fantastic and when it is taken past you by servers it looks fantastic. I sat at the bar, which I highly recommend, as you watch the open kitchen at work. They are so calm and the food is served fast yet fresh! I had the fried Brussels sprouts and the House special Dungeness bibimbap with quails egg. Both dishes were amazing and the drinks were complementary and also tasty - Korean rice wine, ginger, and other mixers - FAB. Wished I lived here so I could work my way through the menu......

Incredible Korean fusion

By MattMacon |

Ate here 4 times on a trip to Seattle! Great small plates and house-infused cocktails in a tiny space. One of our favorite restaurants in the country! Happy Hour is a steal!

Excellent food

By VaycayLadyB |

We came here based off of reviews and people were right. This place was amazing! We ordered a bunch of stuff so we could try everything. The sliders are ridiculously good, especially the beef slider which is spicy and juicy. The pork slider is more mild and sweet. The bibimbap was savory delicious and had some heat. The short rib was good but not great in my opinion. My husband loved it though. The place is really small so I recommend to get there early so you dont have to wait. We were seated right away and they do have high chairs for toddlers which is a plus. I dont recommend bringing a stroller as there is really no place to put it. Based on pics and other reviews we left ours in the car. The service was fast and friendly and food just kept coming out hot. We were hungry so when I get hot fresh food fast I'm happy! Overall this is a great place and I highly recommend.

Korean Tapas Bliss

By TravelOT-Mike |

My favorite Seattle happy hour! Happy hour only lasts from 5pm-6:30pm (including Saturdays). Menu options include spicy pork sliders (mouthwatering), bulgogi sliders, fried oysters, chicken wings, and rice each at around $6. Drink specials included Hite beer for $4, house wine $7 and a few other options to wet your whistle. The service at the bar was fast and friendly with my beer and water never getting below 1/4 without a friendly offer for a refill. The sharp, zesty, sweet and salty flavors are what keep us returning during our trips. Love me some Chan's!

Hidden gem

By nathalievet |

I had never had Korean food before and was a bit nervous about it. The place is quite small and gets very busy but the food was absolutely fabulous! Staff were very attentive and is was great to see the good being prepared right in front of us on the open kitchen. Definitely worth a visit.

Delicious!!

By alopez7784 |

The restaurant is small and can be loud, but the food was amazing! The dishes are on the small side and meant to be shared, but that just means you get to experience more options. We enjoyed everything we ordered and the food on the tables around us looked tasty too. Would definitely go back.

Delicious food and happy hour prices are decent

By MichiganMom71 |

We stopped in here for a quick dinner in the middle of our conference and the food was very good. The tuna tartare was delicious (although they do not serve it with crackers, so we requested bread), the beef bulgogi sliders were amazing and the potato side dish also very good. We ordered off of the $10 happy hour menu, which was downright reasonable in crazy expensive Seattle. Our server was a bit cheeky, but overall, we did enjoy our experience here.

Amazing creative food!

By Rashid M |

The food there is absolutely outstanding and reasonably priced. I don't think the term gastro pub is quite fitting as it is more like a restaurant. However, hats off to the chef who does an amazing job and the waiters and waitresses there who make the service superb. Would highly recommend

5 stars. Simply superb *****

By Presboss . |

It is rare anymore that you find a gem, but I get truly excited when I do so! Flew into Seattle to catch our cruise to Alaska. Accidentally came across this restaurant walking around in the evening . Took an hour waiting in line but we didn't loose heart. Well worth the wait The food is finger licking good, to the last bite . We tried out a lot of their suggestions... All good Staff is helpful, attentive. Couldn't ask for more Absolutely A Must do on your visit to Seattle. 5 stars . Hats off !

Modern Korean food served family style

By CMChang |

We arrived 7pm on Saturday and had to wait an hour but luckily it was worth it. We had scallion pancakes, skirt steak ssam, Kim chee chicken fried rice, pork bulgogi. The desserts were a little too exotic for the kids but we loved them -- rice beer ice cream and rhubarb ginger sorbet. Portions for the meals are not large but we were full. No leftovers! I am Korean-American and enjoyed the food here a lot. My only peeve -- but chaotic and only one restroom. While waiting for he restroom the kitchen is exposed and I have to admits I was a bit creeped out by the dirtiness (see photo.)

Like nothing I’ve ever had

By Devin B |

I’ve been all over Europe, throughout Italy, France, Germany, UK... all over the US, eaten the best food all over. Been to many Michelin rated places... had amazing sushi in Tokyo... seriously, Chan has something special. It’s informal, chill, but just amazing food that you wouldn’t expect. It’s the kind of place I could imagine Anthony Bourdain visiting and loving. I had fried rice cakes that look nothing like rice cakes, deep fried oysters with a Korean twist. I don’t know dude... this place is gooooood.

Visited for Happy Hour and so worth it!

By Niameow |

We visited here for the first time. Before 5:00 pm, the line up had started to build. We tried pork sliders, beef sliders, and shishito peppers. They were all delicious, but pork sliders were our favourite. We had another plan after this, so we couldn't enjoy a full meal here, but we would definitely come back here and try other menus!

The Spicy Pork Sliders: Outstanding!

By dhmosquito |

My wife and I and 4 friends who were vacationing in Seattle first had a sampler here as one component of the Savor Seattle "Gourmet" food tour (also highly recommended). We returned a few nights later to try entrées other than what we had had at Cha:n (yeah, that's the way it's spelled) on the tour, but primarily to get some more of the Spicy Pork Sliders!!! The pork sliders are simply some of the tastiest restaurant food items that I have ever eaten! Period!! You only get 2 per order, so place your request for more!! We also ordered chicken wings (excellent) and rice cakes that were flavored with a nice zippy spice; each "cake" was miniature, about the size of a fat almond, but Man!! were they tasty. A rice cake order consisted of about 2 dozen or so of these, and everyone shared and had aplenty. Service was outstanding and staff were exceptionally friendly. Presentation of food was also wonderful. If I lived in Seattle I'd eat here once a week! Maybe twice!!!

Some interesting elements

By bc_in_co |

We arrived early as a group of 5 and waited a very long time for table while other groups both smaller and larger were seated -- they obviously had a specific table they wanted to sit us at rather than putting together a 4+2 to accommodate us sooner. We were told it was a 20-40 minute wait, it took close to 1 hour and 20 minutes. Had cocktails while we waited, which were decent but not impressive. They won't serve appetizers until you have a table. The appetizers were good: the fried rice cakes were tasty, the chicken wings were excellent. Main courses were very good - the Bibimbap was a great combination of flavors and textures, and certainly not your usual Korean restaurant version of the dish.

Delicious food and cocktails!

By Nette723 |

Enjoyed cocktails and dinner at the bar, highly recommend the pork sliders, chicken wings, duck fried rice, and ginger creme brûlée. Lychee Rickey was light and delicious and service was fantastic!

Delicious!

By betterbeclean16 |

Went during happy hour. Loved the chicken wings and the beef sliders! Got a pomegranate ginger soda that was so refreshing!

Hidden, Limited Hours

By CTMans |

Very close to Pike Place Market, but set in back of a small complex without prominent signage. Most important, Chan actually masquerades as two restaurants. During the day it is Bacco - not Korean at all. Becomes Chan in evening for dinner (only). Don't try to have lunch at Chan - you cannot.

Taste of food that melts in your mouth!

By DaddyDo82 |

Came across this place while traveling and this is a must go to if you have the time. I'll be back the next time I'm in town!!! Food and drinks were on point and worth the wait!!!

Excellent

By elinev912 |

This place was recommended to us and we are so glad we made it there. Pork sliders and hangover soup we incredibly flavorful. I wish I was eating it again now. One meal and we were ready to go back each day of our stay but unfortunately there were closed the last 2 days of our trip.

Try Chan if you are not in a hurry.

By Golfwithcats |

My colleague and I went there just before their busy time, about 5:30, on Saturday. We sat at the counter seats and ordered a few appetizers (still Happy Hour) and two main dishes. They were all very good and the service was very friendly. The only negative comment that I have is the fact that it took a long time for some of the orders to get to our table. Despite the time that we had to wait, I would probably go back there when I am in the area.

preMother's day celeb

By d richards |

food were all tasty, classic Korean cuisine during the happy hour. 6 dishes to choose from, all good! kids love their fried chicken wings. The alaskan black cod was superb, very moist and tasty. Short ribs were very yummy and tender specially with rice with it, addicting! a differently repeater!

Excellent Korean Food and Happy Hour!!

By Jason N |

Visited Chan’s on our first day of a family vacation to Seattle and in town for an Alaskan cruise. We moved back to the states after living in Seoul, South Korea for the past 27 months. Outstanding Korean fusion dinner! Chan’s serves up the BEST Korean food we’ve had in a long time. We tried a variety of the small dishes and our favorites: bulgogi, seafood pancake, steak tartar, fried oyster, tuna poke, Korean chicken wings and Hite beer along with a Soju flight. All were delicious! Everything tasted fantastic and just a short block walk from our hotel too! I would really like to see Chan’s offer Korean fried chicken on their menu. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring and trying Korean fried chicken wherever we traveled in South Korea. It’s one of my favorite dishes. Check out Chan’s. You won’t be disappointed. I promise! If our go for happy hour (5:00-6:30) get there early...or in time for the second seating (no later than 5:30). Have a drink out front at the stand-up tables while you wait and prepare to savor all of the delicious Korean flavors!

Great Food

By daveatsworld |

One of the better places I have been in Seattle, the food here is amazing, and I suggest finding the time to try it out.

Wow! Amazing.

By Andy N |

Service is amazing. Nothing to say about the dishes except wow! First time in Seattle and we got incredibly lucky. Sit at the bar and enjoy the precision team work of the two chefs. Cocktails were stellar. Had the S3...very nice.

Get there EARLY!

By mbovary2019 |

I'm not kidding. Get there at 4:45 and be first in line, especially if you want a table for four. Chan is a small, but comfortable place. Most of the limited tables are set up for two, so you need to plan ahead if you're coming with more than a pair of hungry people. This place is delicious! A Korean gastropub...small plates served family style, a great place for sharing and swapping food all around the table. Both exotic and approachable food can be had here. One thing's for sure...it's all insanely good. Here's what we had: Bulgogi Sliders - sooo yummy. Sweet, sour, spicy, all on a brioche bun. It reminded me of eating a sloppy joe. An order is two sliders, so if you have a table of 4, get two orders. Everyone will want one. Deep fried rice cakes: This was an unexpected surprise. It sounded like something the kids might eat, so we ordered it. I imagined "rice cakes" as the crumbly American snack, but these were chewy bite-sized things, served swimming in the most delicious sweet and spicy sauce. I could drink that sauce. I'd order it again in a heartbeat. Korean fried chicken wings. Maybe my favorite thing on the table, which is saying a lot. Super crunchy. The spicy, tangy, sauce is served on the side (or was in our case) and it was everything you want in an Asian chicken wing sauce to be. Deep fried oysters. Fresh as the sea. Perfectly fried. Sinfully good. Kimchi hangover soup. This rich, flavorful, earthy soup is filled with pork belly, tofu, and veggies. It feels like someone who loved you made it. My mouth is watering as I type this. Why must I live so far from Seattle??? Skillet Bibimbap; I've had many versions of this, but very few that were such a perfect mix of flavors and textures. The rice was perfect, with just the right amount of crisp on the bottom. Over all? I'd recommend this to everyone who loves good food. It's worth the early dinner, for sure!

Korean... with some liberties

By Gacho |

this is a great place with a nice, quaint feel... and while the dishes we ordered did not feel like 100% authentic Korean, they were DELICIOUS; particularly the Brussel sprouts and the duck confit. also worth noting: the cocktails were excellent. I will definitely come back whenever I’m back in this magnificent city.

Outstanding value during happy hour

By seezer808 |

During a recent vacation, we visited Chan's for happy hour. As noted in other reviews, Chan's does not take reservations. Happy hour is from 500pm thru 630pm. We arrived about 10 minutes before the 500pm opening on a weekday and were the first in line. By the time Chan's opened, the line had grown. They have a great happy hour food menu consisting of about five or six small plates at half the price. We ordered all the happy hour menu items except poke and ordered a couple of the house made sodas. The food arrived promptly, one dish at a time. The fried rice cake had a nice texture of crunch and chewy, and was dressed with a tasty sauce. The sliders, two each of bulgogi and spicy pork, were meaty and flavorful. The pickled vegetables gave it a nice crunch. The spicy pork slider had a little heat, but was not too spicy. The fried oysters were nice and crunchy; the kim chi tartar was something different. Our favorite item was the chicken wings. Crunchy, moist, and delicious thanks to a flavorful sauce. Our server provided great service, checking on us periodically despite a full house. Chan's happy hour menu is an outstanding value. We left very satisfied thanks to the great service, tasty and varied happy hour menu, and quantity of food.

Great food, but very rushed

By BlarghBlargh |

The restaurant was nice, but lacking a little atmosphere as there weren't many people in, I think if it was busier it would've been fine though. Food was fantastic, great flavours and it was nice to try something new on our trip. My only issue was how rushed it was, I think this seems to be the norm in the US; this was meant to be one of our nicer meals out and we wanted to take our time and enjoy it, but we were in and out very quickly.

Great Dining Experience

By galaxrex |

My wife and I had dinner at Chan while visiting Seattle before a cruise. It is a (very) small Korean Fusion restaurant on a side alley near Pike Place Market. We enjoyed our meal Tapas style. Ordered four items from the menu and shared. The food was outstanding! We are unfamiliar with Korean cooking but we enjoyed every dish. The restaurant was very busy but the staff was attentive. It was fun to watch the chef prepare meals behind the counter. His kitchen is right next to the bar so we could watch his non stop show. I advise making reservations since there are not many tables and demand seemed high for a weeknight. We'd eat there a lot if we lived in the area.

Delicious!!!!

By GlasgowTraveller14 |

One of the best meals of our trip of the Pacific north west. The sliders were phenomenal, as we're the chicken wings. It's well worth seeking out!

Great Taste experiences

By HawkesBayPfamily |

Just love the family dining and all the tastes & flavours of the various dishes. Highly recommend. Also had breakfast. A good range of choices.

Unique and delicious

By Anarbk |

Chan is a great place for happy hour. They have a great variety of flavors and definitely incredible service. This is a place to visit more than once.

Outstanding! Glad I read the reviews.

By ganthony00 |

My wife and I arrived this past Saturday at 4:45 and the line was already forming. The place is small but we were able to get a nice table when they opened at 5:00. We selected from their Happy Hour menu as so many others had suggested and we were not disappointed. The highlight of our meal were the Bulgogi Sliders. Two perfectly prepared Korean beef sliders for only $6.00? So good we ordered two more! We will definitely be back!!

It’s Chan, its Korean, it’s Modern

By loco4travel |

We waited about 30 minutes to get in and boy that was nothing short of amazing! We ordered all the dishes from their Happy Hour Menu in order for us to graze and give us an idea of their flavors. It was a delish!

Cozy cocktails and Hang Over soup

By Jeffrey D |

This cozy little restaurant has only 36 seats (10 at the bar) and they don’t take reservations so we opted to delay dinner until 8 PM. Even then, a table was a 20 minute wait, but bar seats were open immediately. They have a good reputation for their cocktails and I’ll vouch for the blackberry sidecar as a delicious choice. The menu is set up as smaller plates to share. We tried the tuna tartare (excellent), the kimchi soup (warm and filling against the cold, raw evening), and a small order of chicken wings (tasty). There were a good number of other interesting dishes on the menu that I would have liked to try had I been hungrier. I guess I’ll need to make another visit one of these days.

Found this in a alley

By Mitchell L |

We used Trip Advisor to find this and so glad we did. the ambience, the food is great, be prepared to have a little wait until you get a table, but well worth it.

So great and worth the wait!

By kg2015185 |

We stopped here on a Saturday night and it was packed. Waited 30 minutes and it was worth it. We did a sampling of dishes which were all great but I remember the wings the most.

Delicious, interesting dishes

By politeonplanes |

With all the pricy alternatives nearby, it was nice to get a romantic dinner and high-quality meal at a reasonable price. The Alaskan Black Cod was cooked to perfection and will leave good memories for a long time. Other dishes were just as outstanding: the crispy rice salad and the Korean spaetzel were delish. Combine that with the first-service from Wilder, and you have a very special meal. We even came back a few days later with a business colleague. Wow!

Good food and good price.

By 5Travellers1263 |

This family style Korean restaurant is quite small so plan to wait a while. We were told 40 minutes but it was probably only 25. We sat at the bar and it was a nice view of the cooks in action. The staff members were very friendly. The food was plentiful and a bit spicy. Two of us shared 4 dishes, but probably only needed 3. Price for both of us with drinks was only $55, which is pretty great for pricey Seattle.

Yes. It's all true...

By RockStar707 |

I wanted to hate Chan. I showed up at 8pm on a Wednesday night, waited 40 minutes and still couldn't get a seat. "F this place! No way is the food that good", I said. But I returned the next night, this time at 5pm when they opened to be sure if get a seat. On any given night there are between 5-12 tables, depending on how they arrange the tables, plus a dozen or seats at the bar. I was wrong. Waaaay wrong. It's that good. Happy hour is from 5-6:30 and some of their best dishes are on the menu (sliders, chicken wings, etc). If you can't make happy hour, worry not... It's all on the regular menu. They call themselves Korean Gastro pub food but that's an egregious humble understatement. It's fun, cultured and whimsical Korean food that you'll be left wanting more of, no matter how full you are. Eat here no matter how long the wait is. Thank me later.

Good Korean, Cool Spot

By Dylan G |

Been wanting to try this place for weeks before heading to Seattle. Went on my first night in town and it did not disappoint. Its a very small place and they sure know how to pack them in! Lively atmosphere and cool spot to hang. I had the tuna tartar, the grilled octopus, & the ginger creme brûlée which were all very good! Bartender even gave me a drink on the house just for moving my seat down to accommodate other guests. Next time i’m in town ill be back.

Great and fresh kitchen with great hints created by the chefs

By weka |

Fantastic fusion food well balanced! The Bulgogi Beef burger and cauliflower steaks are fantastic and a must in this restaurant.

Exceeded expectations

By Fabian L |

We started with the Napa cabbage and crispy rice salad. Very refreshing and perfectly balanced. I could eat the beef cheek ragu once a week for a year! Big rice cake noodles that look a little like scallops in a savory sauce. The black cod was perfectly cooked in a very nice broth-not too spicy, but very flavorful. I am glad we split a dessert. The cheesecake was wonderful. I saw a couple other desserts at the next table and they looked beautiful.

Great deal at happy hour

By Cathy H |

This is such a nice place in the heart of the tourist district to get such a great deal! It is a little hard to find, but worth it. Happy hour is from 5-6:30 and they do not take reservations, so go early and stand in line to wait for them to open at 5. We tried many things during our visit. They have these wonderful little rice cakes for $3, similar to Italian gnocchi. We also tried the tuna tartar for $6, good quality, nice presentation with the nice zip of sesame oil that I love. The chicken wings and fried oysters at $6 each were very good, but the popular favorite was the bulgogi sliders. You get 2 for $6. It was not my favorite (I liked the tartar the best), but I was outnumbered. Our waitress Jonah was outstanding. They also offered a nice red wine for happy hour price of $7. Other drinks were also discounted.

Top 10

That's top 10 best asian restaurant I've ever had in my life. I travel a lot so that's a big compliment. Everything was outstanding.

Superb quality, reasonable prices - an absolute must

By Andrew C |

If you love food - and particularly Asian Food - Chan, next to Pike Place Market, is an absolute must. After spending a week dining out in Seattle and a further week along the west coast (including Top 20 restaurants in Seattle and San Francisco), Chan was our unanimous choice for a return visit on our final night in the US. Given the no-booking policy, we were lucky to be seated on a table of four within minutes both visits - the second at around 8.30pm on a Friday. However the modern Korean food would have been worth a much longer wait - which some guests clearly faced outside the front door. The fare is sensational, service friendly and efficient, atmosphere bustling and prices very reasonable. Put simply, in the two visits we did not have a bad dish although the offering improved slightly second time around on what was already close to perfection. Stand-out dishes include the beef sliders - a delightful take on the American burger packed with sweet, sticky Oriental flavour. The pork belly wrapped in lettuce with various added extras is melt-in-your-mouth yumminess, as is the rich and filling Braised Beef Shot Rib. The tangy, crunchy Korean Fried chicken wings (six in a portion) are as good as they come and the Seafood Scallion Pancake is an unexpected savoury treat. They also nailed the dessert with a delightful ginger creme brule. Chan utterly delivers on flavour, quality and quantity without breaking the bank and they even get it right with their selection of Cava. We wanted to celebrate the end of a great fortnight and this was the perfect place to do it.

Little Asian gem in middle of Seattle

By Nghia71 |

We stayed in Paramount, which makes the restaurant a natural destination. However, encouraged by Trip Advisor #3 ranking, we decided to make a visit. Staffs were very nice, very attentive , although they seemed to be under stress. Service is quick and good. Food is excellent, some authenticity combined with innovative touches. Highly recommended: spicy ramen, duck with rice, all the small dishes!

Come When it Opens!!

By Regan D |

We got there almost right at 5 o’clock (when it opens) and got a great seat for our family of five which is good considering how small the restaurant is. I really liked the atmosphere of the restaurant and it seemed high end while still being casual. The food was great Korean Fusion and it came out in no time at all. My favorite was the Korean Fried Chicken. It was super crispy and the sauce was amazing!!! Come for Happy hour from 5-6:30.

Great Contemporary Korean

By NWtripster |

I was a little dubious about trying Chan, as I'm half Korean, have eaten Korean from the Bay Area to Seoul, and have not been impressed with Seattle and Eastside traditional Korean (but haven't been to Lynnwood establishments yet). This restaurant serves a contemporary take on Korean favorites. Our party of three ordered two sets of meals from the sampler menu (a drink, appetizer, and entree for $33), and another few dishes and drinks from the happy hour and regular menu, and all shared family-style. My wife and sister enjoyed their 'foo-foo' drinks and the Hite Korean lager hit the spot for me. Appetizers included fried oysters, pork fatback lettuce wraps (SSam), roasted Brussels sprouts, and kimchee jars. Entrees included their takes on dolsot bibimbop (served in an iron skillet rather than in a stone bowl), seafood scallion pancakes, and the mushroom japchae. All were excellent, tasty, with the essence of true Korean flavors coming through. That said, surprisingly, the biggest hit was the untraditional to K-cuisine roasted Brussels sprouts. The best B sprouts any of us have ever had. My only (very minor) disappointment was that dishes didn't come with banchan on the side. Their kimchee jars, a mixture of napa cabbage (baechu), radish (kakduki), and cuke (oi muchin) kimchees, were fresh & excellent in authentic tastes, and I would have liked to sample other varieties. Overall, portions were large, all dishes were very tasty, and the meals were reasonably priced. We left well sated, and will definitely return! (Note, they open at 5 PM and do not take reservations. It's a small cozy space, so they fill up fast. )

So yum!

By ARExplorers |

Our first meal in Seattle. Saw this restaurant on Trip Advisor and decided to give it a try. Loved the happy hour. All plates and drinks. We all tried a variety if food- all good. My 16 year old picky eater liked it! It is very small and filled up really fast. We got here about 15 minutes after it opened and were lucky enough to get a table. So good!

Great Korean Fusion at a Reasonable Price

By Tom Pamperin |

A co-worker and I ate dinner here last night on a business trip to Seattle. It was fantastic. This is a small place that is obviously very popular since there were people still waiting to get in when we left at 8:00 PM. First the food was amazing. We shared 2 appetizers: Bulgogi Sliders (2 get 2) which were so flavorful and great I could have made a mean of them. The other was a bowl of dried fish and small green peppers (not hot) that had been cooked. The bowl also had a smear of some sort of sauce on the side of the bowl that was very good. Finally we had a bowl of rice with the appetizers. For our main course, we shared Mushroom Japchae which was 4 different types of mushrooms with glass noodles in a wonderful sauce. The second dish was Kimchi Fried Rice that came in a cast iron skillet with calamari and mushrooms. It too was so flavorful. Finally my co-worker had a drink and I had 2 Hite beers. Our total bill was $31.93 each. Without a doubt one of the best and cheapest meals I have ever had in Seattle.

Excellent food in a nice atmosphere

Following advices from Trip Advisor we picked this one and were not dissappointed. The interior was confortable, the staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. Also the cocktails were very good. Definitely recommendable

Great place to hangout and try some Aisian fusion food in DT Seattle

By Kai L |

Rainy Sat night, waited half an hour for two bar seats. Overheard that lineup is normal Food is great and creative. Tasty and good portion. Alcohol menu has ample selections We ordered 3 for $33 during the promotion month and a side appetizer, bill came not a surprise. Rice wine ice cream is a surprise tho. Very tasty!

Unique korean fusion food.

By lv2trvl69 |

Tried four meat dishes, everything came out tasty. Don't miss the sliders, the bomb. Drinks also impressive.

Skillet Bibimbap bama rama bing bong

By Bob |

I really enjoyed he Skillet Bibimbap It will always be the baseline of this dish But honestly fusion food proves usually to be on the safe side of the  ethnic spectrum. Location great to draw the uninitiated to Korean fusion and If I was a Midwesterner this is a great introduction to Korean food. The rice cakes are unique. But I have had Hawaiian Korean chicken in Hawaii  and these wings come in a pale second.  The beef short ribs were a generous dish but sort of dull .I have the great privilege to live in Seattle where a humble spicy  teriyaki  rock and rolls. I should go back and have another skillet dish the next time It's a fun place. The Kimchi is home made and fresh. FYI On rainy day I would tread carefully their floor is dangerously slippery.

Great vibe with some great food

By Albern C |

After a brief wait for some seats, we were warmly greeted with a nice cosy atmosphere and some lovely table service. The food was great and the "family dining" policy really brings me back home to the classic asian dinner table. The classic hits like the bibimbap and the korean chicken went down well alongside the modern dishes like the duck fried rice. The charred octopus in particular was a highlight. The only regrettable thing is that I wish we ordered more!

One of the very best!

By Nestacres |

There are lost of places to get oriental food in Seattle but this one is the best. Just off PikePlace market. The food is amazing and the portions are huge.Three dishes - kimchi rice, glazed beef dripping of the bone and broccoli was sufficient for two of us, and the cocktails were good too.It gets busy and is quite small - around 15 tables and a small area for bar seating so you may have to wait ,but its worth it!

Wings,Sliders and Heaven!!!

By Lance H |

Amazing place to eat and meet! Friendly staff and amazing food!! You must have the wings, they are an experience in themselves!! You should also go for the sliders, go for both!! You will Thank me!!! Great food, location, staff and experience!!!

Deliciously Spicy Chicken Wings

By Strive Rogers |

These chicken wings are perfectly crispy and coated in a rich, spicy sauce. Topped with crunchy peanuts and fresh green onions, they offer a delightful mix of flavors and textures. A must-try for wing lovers!

Do it, or wish you had!

By sfmike2018 |

Tiny place, pretty active, a little loud, but great food and fun. Reasonable prices, especially if you can catch happy our. Try the bulgogi sliders. Perfect!

Great Meal

By NKLW |

When traveling, I have a tendency to return to great restaurants multiple times (which is both a good and bad thing). Chan was one of those restaurants. It splits time in the morning as a different restaurant, but Chan itself was very tasty. Loved the spicy pork sliders and most of what was on the happy hour menu. The drinks were great as well. I recommend getting here right when they open; its not a small space, but it does fill up pretty quickly!

Super pleased with the food

By MsColorado |

Found this on tripadvisor and met our Seattle friends here. Got there in time for happy hour. Small wait time. We literally ordered every item on the happy hour food menu and loved it all. Very reasonably priced. Items from the main menu also looked delicious. I will bet money that our friends will be back. I would certainly come back next time we are in Seattle.

This place is fantastic.

By Mark S |

I went with my Nephew during their happy hour. Ordered one of every thing on the happy hour menu and all of it was fantastic.

Amazing food. Well worth the wait

By Oliver A |

One of my favourite restaurants in Seattle. We had to queue for about 20 minutes as they don’t take reservations but it was 100% worth it. I had the wings which were delicious and then the bibimbap, so good! I couldn’t recommend this enough. A must try when eating out in pike place.

Best food we had in Seattle!

By DeeEss |

My wife and I tried Chan for dinner during a recent visit to Seattle. We picked Chan and the other restaurants we wanted to try before the trip, based on reviews here, and Chan did not disappoint -- it was our favorite food during the visit! We went to Chan our first night in town. We had a little trouble finding it because it's not visible from the street, but it's in the same building as their sister restaurant Bacco Cafe, which is visible. Chan doesn't take reservations, and although it was a busy Friday night, we only had to wait about 10 minutes. We would have sat at the bar, but a table opened up so we were seated there. For cocktails, I ordered a Steen's Old Fashioned and my wife ordered a Bluegrass #9. The old fashioned was good but my wife's drink was a bit too sweet for her, so for the second round we both got the old fashioned. For food, we started by sharing Spicy Pork Sliders and Skillet Bibimbap, and then shared an order of 5.3 Bulgogi. All the food was very flavorful and delicious, and our server Austin provided excellent service. We were pretty full after the meal so we skipped dessert. Prices were reasonable. If we visit Seattle again, we'll definitely return to Chan!

Fab for a quick bits

By Amy V |

Visited after a 9hr flight for a light dinner. Signed up at the door to go on the waiting list. Got served very quickly and didn’t have to wait long. Gentleman with the beard at the bar who served us was 10/10, really polite, friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Food was delicious, had both the sliders and the asparagus dish. Bit expensive as we missed happy hour, but fairly in line with Seattle as a whole. About 45 dollars for 2 x sliders, asparagus and two drinks. Would definitely go back.

Small and cozy

By Brittany M |

First meal in Seattle and it was AMAZING! Very small restaurant we arrived shortly after they opened and there was no wait, but is filled up quickly! We tried most of the happy hour specials but my favorite dish was the Brussels sprouts!

Average - maybe they were having an off night

By holidaychicLondon |

We had an ok meal here, truly surprised as I’d read all of the exceptional reviews.. We ordered the prawns and the pork sliders starters and then the black cod and the beef noodles. The waitress brought us the noodles first and said they’ve come early as another customer had ordered it but had left.. we just had the noodles on their own for a while so started to eat them or they would’ve got cold pending the arrival of anything else. The cod eventually came - still no sign of appetisers so we ate the cod and noodles then the pork sliders came and we’d finished and no sign of the prawns - I asked our waiter (who was super rushed off her feet) and she said they wouldn’t be too long and she was sorry. I said don’t worry but can we leave them now as we’d finished our meal.. the waiting staff all seemed very rushed, the food was quite nice - nothing amazing like the reviews suggest. Maybe it was an off night………

Not your Gyo Sa’s Korean - amazing

By Prescottdiner |

This restaurant has a creative menu that gives a nod to Korean cuisine. Don’t expect a spread of kimchi or a hot plate on your table. Chan went from strength to strength on this occasion. We started with Pork sliders - tender sweet pork with pickled radish and scallion and a rich aioli on a soft brioche bun. Also Chicken Wings Korean style - sweet and a bit of kick, delicious. Unfortunately, they were out of the kimchi stew - maybe next time. We had Alaskan Black Cod that was delicate and perfectly prepared, and my favorite- smoked duck with oyster, onion, scallion and a hint of truffle over rice in a broth and dressed with nori and a sauce similar to hoisin. This was a marvelous display of creative preparation and a thrill to taste. My only quibble is when one of us asked for a refill of fountain soda and was charged. That is really silly.

Great Happy Hour Selection!

By Jason Park |

Amazing Korean-fusion food. I always go for their happy hour offerings; I actually made a reservation here for restaurant week, but we ended up ditching those options for the happy hour options, haha. At least for their happy hour options, it's tapas style. Some musts are their spicy pork sliders, regular sliders, and wings!

Restaurant ReOpens 11/9/22 at Paramount Hotel

By Nancy D |

We ate at the new location with their soft opening at the Paramount hotel. It was fun to sit at the bar and watch the kitchen staff cook. We thought the food was really tasty but we found issue with some of our service. I think this will be resolved over time and this is why I rate this place 4 vs 3 stars. Many items on the menu are small plates style. Ask your server to deliver them one at a time and not all together. Make sure that the spiciest dish is not served first. We ordered delicious and very spicy chicken wings. Sadly since we ate them first, it meant we couldn’t then really taste the beef sliders we received since they were much more mild. Some of the finger food is really messy, and the restaurant had not yet secured wet wipes to provide clients or warm towels to clean fingers. The owner/chef was there working in the kitchen and was interested in what we had to say. He was so nice and I believe all these kinks will be worked out. I think soon this may be the hottest game in town.

Dinner after customer meetings

By golan s |

Me and 2 colleges from my company is visiting Seattle for some customers meetings We went for a dinner in this place which was very good It has a variety of small plates which are very good for sharing and for trying various dishes The chicken wings are great as well as the sliders and the bibimbap mix. We also trued the beef short rib which was good, and the Cod fish which was so so. The beer was also very good and went goes well with the dishes. We spent ~$140 for the 3 of us.

So gooooood

By Steve Lewis |

This place is incredible. But many table, minimalistic design, warm ambiance. We tried and shared all the dishes. All of them were delicious, coming from the family kitchen. The deep fried oysters were simply incredible. Cocktails were also fantastics Fabulous evening

Turn and twist of modern Korean cuisine

By Lisa C |

Amazing twist and turn of lovely Korean food. Very busy for a random Thursday night. I had called ahead to check if our party of 8 should bother to come. The waitress was very nice. She told us there is a table, but come fast as they are not allowed to hold the table. We were lucky that we made it for happy hour. * Fries oysters - fantastic texture of crunchy shell and large soft oysters. The sauce is awesome! * Bulgogi sliders - my kids love. Sweet succulent beef and not spicy at all. * rice cake - a stable and must try. Not too spicy. Overall a great experience.

HAVE to stop here!

By Gena L |

We were a little disappointed in our food experience during our latest trip to Seattle, so I'm not sure if our visit to Chan was actually 5-star, or if it just caught us by surprise. Either way, being caught surprise is always so pleasing. I love tapas-style food because it affords you the opportunity to sample a lot of different selections. Aaaaand we did. From the seafood scallion pancake to the braised short rib, chicken wings, and soup...this place delivers on flavor. I am sad that we tried them so late in the trip because if we had known about them a little earlier, we would have absolutely gone back a second time. Hands-down best food experience in Seattle. But seriously, that pancake...ugh. Amazing.

Just go!

By Danno251 |

Colleague and I came on a Tuesday about 7:30pm. Chan is a small place, they don't take reservations and there was a line, but it was moving so we stayed. Boy are we glad we waited! Quaint surroundings, good music, and really awesome Korean fusion! Recommend splitting appetizers. We had the pork belly sliders, which came with pickled daikon & scalions. Colleague ordered the Bibimbop skillet w/veggies, bulgogi beef, rice, egg, etc. and it was fabulous. I had black cod (seafood rotates based on what they buy at the market, 1/2 block away!) It was gourmet! Fresh, well prepared, but what stood out was the sauces and spices. Lively, but not over the top! Very good and reasonably priced. Danno says, "Just go!"

Happiest Hour in Town

By SchalkNZ |

Tempted by some of the recent reviews, we stopped in at Chan for their happy hour. What a pleasure! We had absolutely delicious and ridiculously cheap sliders (we tucked into both pork and beef), and succulently sticky chicken wings. The service was friendly and slickly efficient. I doubt that you will get better value for money anywhere: in Seattle, in the USA, in the known world. For the record, the “happy hour” wine is also good and inexpensive. But Chan’s “happy hour” is about food, glorious food.

SO good!!

By Jennifer E |

Get here right when they open-they do not take reservations. I'm serious, get there early! Food is outstanding...Korean fusion'ish! Great cocktails and the service is top notch and efficient. We will go back when we visit Seattle in the future.

Authentic and tasty food always

By D S |

I have gone to Chan’s a few times and each time I come away with praising the food. It is authentic and it is tasty. It is crowded and they don’t take reservations but great eats.

Love this intimate little restaurant!

By KNW1248 |

My husband and I visited Chan as part of a food tour. Our sample was so tasty that we decided to come back to try more of their menu. I'm so glad we did. We had the bulgogi with crispy calamari. It was so flavorful and the price was ridiculously low for how delicious it was. You will not be disappointed giving this great place a try!

Good, recommended.

By Totoro |

Good tastes of Korean modern food. The restaurant is located in the district of hotels. Good approaches. I recommend Sotbob. Good.

Small Dining BIG FLAVOR

By nswagner11 |

I read a review about Chan and how busy it gets early and they aren't wrong. It was so amazing and most of the items were spicy (which I love). The beef slider was my favorite along with the pork slider. It was a lot of fun and great quick eats!

Korean food at its best

By lalapo1212 |

I am an avid lover of Korean food always on the hunt for a new Korean restaurants. Chan is a relatively small restaurant hidden in a sidestreet close to pikes place. My girlfriend and I arrived there at 6:45 and just saw 3 parties in front of us. It took us one hour to get seated. This was the only negative aspect of the dinner. We ordered their bimbimpap, which was extremely tasty and flavorful . Their braised beef short rib was amazing, tender yet tasteful, just a delight to eat. Their food is highly recommendable and definetly makes up for the wait.

Definitely a place to revisit

Chan Seattle provided a memorable lunch experience with colleagues! The Korean cuisine was outstanding—flavors were authentic and dishes beautifully presented. The ambiance was chic yet cozy, and the service was impeccable. Definitely a place to revisit

I was lucky to get a table super easily due to the snow. The service was great, food delicious, and bill very reasonable. I’d highly recommend the bulgogi beef sliders 😋

Fantastic

Fantastic as always! The fact that they extended happy to daily makes it even better. It's right about pikes place so the fish is super fresh.

Very tasty chicken wings. You also have to try the rice cake dish that I can't remember the name. Service is always good too.

Wonderful

By FergusDad |

Chan is a small Korean fusion restaurant near the Pike Place Market. The sliders and chicken wings available during happy hour are a genuine bargain.

Best Korean food!

By skilodge01 |

This resturant was located just steps from the hotel we stayed at. We ate here twice during a 5 day stay in Seattle. It was delicious .

Best Korean I ever tasted!

Not much to say Very good service and food. If you are in Seattle EAT HERE! Had my kids with me and they found good-kids-friendly-food for them❤️

Delicious pork sliders and cocktails

By Stardog-uk |

The spicy pork sliders and blackberry bluegrass cocktail were so good, I had to order them again there and then! Delicious melt in your mouth pork with the most heavenly flavours and a surprisingly tasty cocktail to wash it down with. Tucked away just round the corner from Pike Place Market in a small courtyard underneath the Inn at the Market hotel with a quiet relaxing atmosphere, I managed to arrive here in time for opening before the place became extremely busy. I was made to feel very welcome by the staff having just arrived in Seattle a few hours earlier from a long-haul flight. Do note that they do not take reservations so it can be a long wait if you're lucky to get in at all, but it'll be very much worthwhile if you do visit!

Korean food at its best

By Judith W |

As fans of Korean cuisine (having visited South Korea), we were tempted to check out Chan’s after reading the reviews. And the reviews were spot on - tasty, authentic Korean food, very reasonably priced. Friendly, efficient service and comfortable, trendy atmosphere. We enjoyed the bulgogi sliders, beef bimimbap, and Dungeness crab- all excellent.

Don't get scared off.

By Clifton H |

I read the reviews and they are right, we loved this place. The food was over the top and a unique experience (we are from Santa Fe) for out of town visitors. At #41 we figured there is no way would get in without a long wait. We were actually headed someplace else and noticed the sign (remember it's Bocca during the day) without a line. Walked in Monday night at 6:00 pm and were seated immediately, its a little warm but absolutely worth the inconvenience. Can't wait to go back

Delicious

By Bethany C |

The ginger creme brûlée is where it’s at!! Sliders and chicken wingers were amazing as well! Definitely enjoyed the atmosphere.

Solo Dinner @ Chan

By Jonathan H |

Chan is also a great spot to eat solo when on business, located right in the market, started with the house infused soju sampler, nice with korean beer and bulgogi sliders which were really so delicious, kimchi of course and the mackerel were just fine - the kitchen is open and it is a very small space so its s a bit loud but worthwhile for the food for sure.

Great dinner for one

By Tiger X |

Stayed at The Paramount and tried dinner here one night. It did not disappoint. Had the beef sliders and the roasted cauliflower which were amazing.

Happy Hour 4-6pm

By Ranj & Sukhi Jawanda |

We had read about this place on trip advisor, we were staying at the Paramount hotel anyway so seemed like a no brainer to try this bar one of the nights we were staying. We opted for small plates to try the menu, this did not disappoint at all. All plates were generous for two people, so we shared each plate, 2 sliders on a plate, cauliflower steak roasted enough to share, tuna tartare etc. with side plates. Happy hour is between 4-6pm, the bar is quite a small but comfortable area, table is a wait but you are seated quite quickly during this time. Most people select this for pre theatre or show drinks and food. The menu is very much varied and drinks are quite reasonably priced. Staff are very friendly and quick with table and drinks service, the payment method preferred is card here but they will accept cash too. We had a wonderful meal sharing the happy hour menu which was enough for us. Highly recommend this place, location is brillant on Pine street amongst the shops and restaurants so whether you want a bite to eat before shopping, or pre dinner drinks this is ideal. Toilets and washrooms is the only downfall you will have to ask the bar staff for a card and go to the second floor of the hotel.

Satisfied totally !

By dominique_hwang |

We have tried many fusion restaurants wherever we traveled. This one is the best of all so far. The service is quick (we sat on the bar, the staff cooked in front of us), the taste is excellent, the presentation of the dishes are flawless, and the price is good ! We appreciated almost everything we ordered. The idea of the ginger crème brulée is brilliant, we love it. Four of us were totally satisfied with our dinner.

Fantastic modern spin on Korean.

By benstanes |

All the food was fantastic. Love the share plate style. Tuna tartare was delish. Service was friendly. Highly recommend!

Wow! Fabulous food!!!

By Bob J |

A Korean gastropub! Don’t worry, order whatever sounds good and you will be delighted! The prices are good, except during happy hour when they are GREAT! Service is friendly if a bit haphazard at times, but that’s part of the charm. No reservations so it’s best to go early. Happy hour is from opening at 5 until 6:30 as of this writing.

This was good, but not amazing

By acme9394 |

The service was fine, nothing more than normal. I expected the food to be a little more flavorful. Maybe we didn't pick the right items, but it still has a bit more to go for us.

Good but not great. We waited

By DaveMemphis |

Good but not great. We waited until they opened at 5 because they don’t take reservations. Appetizers were good - we ate light due to a food walking tour that afternoon. The place is not big, but there were only two servers. So as the place filled, service slowed.

A flying visit to Seattle took us to this excellent restaurant.

By Tim W |

Went in at 9.00 pm and the place was buzzing.Small restaurant with very good service and a relaxed atmosphere.

Convenient and good Korean

By ivanhoe |

We stopped here on a food tour and a Korean pulled pork type bun with a Korean bulgogi bite with rice cake sampler. It was very good. The drink served was a traditional milky coloured fluid with an odd taste, not overly appealing but good for a try.

Staying at the Inn at the Market. It was close and looked interesting. Bibimbap was awesome as was my wife's short rib dish. If you like Korean food this place is for you. It is small and was a bit warm inside but otherwise this a pleasant experience. Highly recommend.

Fabulous!

By Mandy H |

It was a great menu, great location and fabulous food and service. The price point was very reasonable as well.

An hour of waiting and then never seated

By Jackson B |

My party of three arrived an hour and a half before closing. We were told the wait would be 20 to 30 minutes. We chose to wait. Around 20 minutes later a waitress came out an told us it would be 35 to 40 minutes. We decided at that point we might as well wait. 30 minutes later she came back and said the wait would be 10 to 15 more minutes. Finally, after an hour of waiting, she came back and told us that the kitchen was closing soon and we wouldn't be seated.

Highly recommended for legit Korean food

It's funny that they advertise them self as a small plate tapas restaurant yet they serve some of the most authentic Korean flavors I've tasted. We ate here on our second night in Seattle and it was the only restaurant that really wowed us. We started with the bulgogi sliders, chicken wings and ahi poke. The chicken wings were tossed in a gochujang glaze and should be the benchmark for all Korean chicken wings. They absolutely found the perfect balance between sweet and spicy. The poke was also flavored well and perfectly dressed. For our entree we had the seafood pancake, a bibimbap and the hangover kimchi soup. The pancake was overflowing with fresh seafood and stuffed with scallions which I love. My fiancé didn't enjoy the soup as much as I did because of the strong kimchi flavor but she agreed that it was made very well and tasted authentic. Our bibimbap was also as perfect as all the other dishes we had. It was served in a cast iron skillet rather than a traditional stone pot which I thought was genius because the rice came out delightfully crispy on the bottom. They also served it with mixed greens which I've never seen before but was absolutely delicious when wilted with the other ingredients. For a restaurant located in a touristy area we were pleasantly blown away by their food.

Hands down the BEST meal we had in Seattle.

As a cook in a landlocked, mid-western state, being in Seattle for just 2 nights and trying to pick restaurants is a challenge, but one I'm up for! I'm not interested in long drawn out fine dining experiences....I want to get in, get great service, great food, and get out. Chan was fantastic and hit all those marks. Be prepared for tight quarters, every square inch is utilized. It was only 5pm and Chan was packed with what looked like locals and tourists a like. (good sign). We took 2 seats at the bar/open kitchen. The menu was abbreviated but each dish tempting. Dishes served family style, one at a time. Staff friendly, very busy, but very friendly. We shared a jar of kimchi, then an asparagus dish (LOVED the salted cured egg yolk shavings that topped this dish), short ribs, bibimbap sliders with the cucumber kimchi, and sea bass. The chef wasn't happy with the presentation of the sea bass so he insisted on taking it off the bill...we thought it looked and tasted amazing. We loved Chan Seattle so much we tried to go back the next day for a quick happy hour but it was closed. Next time we're in Seattle we will for sure go back to Chan.

Very tasty Happy Hour on the weekend. We started off with rice cakes then had Bulgogi & Spicy pork sliders. Last but not least Chicken wings . True to Korean food these were all spicy & sweet. Excellent Korean food.

First time eating Korean...and it didn't disappoint!

If you love good food...you will love Chan! We wanted to try something different for our final night in Seattle and my wife found this Korean restaurant tucked away near Pike Place Market. The food was delicious and complimented with a smooth Korean lager on draught to wash it down with. Family style sharing is recommended and we had 4 courses between us which was just about right. The chicken wings, pork sliders and brussel sprouts were our favourites but there is so much to choose and all looks fantastic. It is also really good value for money if you get there for Happy Hour, but certainly wouldn't have minded paying full price as the food was that good! Thank you, Chan!

Disappointed

We eat at Chan a few years back and returned this week. We were totally disappointed. The restaurant was extremely loud. The menu did not meet our previous experience. A shame....We looked forward to our return trip.

Amazing fresh food that is reasonable priced

Fantastic small plates, had the roasted cauliflower, seafood pancake and Bibimbap. Each plate was delicious, fresh and well priced. Service was good and we made sure to get there shortly after they opened at 5pm because it is a small place. We didn't have to wait but it did fill up quickly.

Hidden Gem for Happy Hour

Love this place, service and happy hour prices ! Best in town. Excellent service. Love sitting at the counter and watching the kitchen

Great atmosphere and tasty food

By youngtraveller61 |

The atmosphere was good. The only place in Seattle I went which had a busy vibe about it. We had to wait a short while for a table when we visited at 7.30pm on a Wednesday. We sat at the bar to speed up the wait and we thoroughly recommend this. We enjoyed watching the chefs expertly putting the dishes together. The food was great and there were passionate waiters describing the dishes. My only negative of the restaurant was that my clothes smelt afterwards.

Mother Daughter Weekend! Starving and Chan was there!

Chan was next to our Hotel and we arrived in from a late flight starving. Chan was busy but we grabbed a table and the food was served so fast. The waitress was great and suggested a few items on the menu. Brussel Sprouts and Chicken Wings and a Traditional Korean Skillet dish with Bulgogi Beef, rice, vegetable & egg. Everything was amazing!

Amazing Korean food.

What a gem of a restaurant, only small and you will have to queue but it is worth the wait. You can chose to sit at a table or bar. Small menu but really good choices. We had the pork and beef sliders with both being really good. The pork was amazing. For main we had the Skillet Bibimbap which is a beef, vegetable and rice dish with an amazing sauce. You won’t go hungry here. The waitress was helpful with the menu. Service was good. Great prices.

Worth the wait

Plan ahead as you cannot book, where the small restaurant means you will likely wait. BUT, well worth it. Excellent Korean food and really well priced. The Short Rib, Chicken Wings (some of the best I've had!), Bulgogi and Pork Sliders were highlights for us. Good drinks too! You'll leave more than satisfied and having not broken the bank, really impressed - we'll be back!

Korean Fusion Restaurant and bar

Stayed at the Inn, and whenever we walked pass CHAN, there is always a crowd, so we finally gave it a try on our last meal and we were not disappointed.

Perfect bibimbap

By irishabroad2015 |

Had bulgogi sliders which were spicy and delicious and beef bibimbap which was as good as any I’ve had in South Korea. Yum. They’re pretty strict about not putting you on the table list or seating you until your whole party is physically present, just in case that applies. It was busy and vibrant when I visited but I was able to sit at the bar.

Delicious food, poor service

By Emma O |

Started off great, we got a seat at the bar despite it being busy. Apparently you can't make reservations though people turned up after us and were apparently on some sort of list. Our order got taken quickly but after we had been waiting quite a while for our food, what we thought was our starter order of sliders coming out actually got given to 2 people next to me - who had come in after us but seemed to know the guy taking orders, and who had already had 2 dishes delivered whilst we had none. We asked the guy where ours were and he said they were coming but looked a little embarrassed. He then went and spoke to the chef...ours were cooked and delivered eventually but we feel that ours had been given to the other people by mistake which meant our starters actually came out to us as our third dish, and we didn't get any sort of apology. So we weren't very impressed with that, but the food was really interesting and tasty. The sliders ended up being the best dish by far. Just a shame about the service issues.

Top 5 dinner in the last 5 years!

This small spot dishes out the biggest flavours I’ve enjoyed in a long time. The food is BRILLIANT. Bulgogi sliders, Korean crispy wings, bibimpap, seafood scallion pancake, tuna tartare. Genius. Each dish exploding with flavour. Ambience is fun and lively. I fear I won’t find good this good again soon. 10/5 stars!
