Daniel & Jen are fantastic. Excellent and attentive service with wonderful cocktail skills. Highly recommend for a business happy hour, date night, or elegant evening. A high quality bar with an exceptional personal relationship and focus on customer service.

A Rare Hospitality and Culinary Feat of Perfection

By GlodeWanderer |

Charlotte is a rare example of a stellar culinary dining experience. It starts the minute you approach the building that houses the 17th floor Lotte Hotel and Charlotte restaurant and lounge. The level of awareness stuns, as the building doors are opened by two welcoming doormen, next a greeter welcomes you with enthusiasm and a welcoming bow, finds your reservation, walks you to the elevator, pushes the floor button exits and up you go. As you rise, so does the experience. You are recognized by name and again a welcoming bow and walking escort. The host promises the “best table in the house” and he delivers, followed by a Lotte of Love cocktail and a classic Negroni coupled with the whitefish spread bar snack. All were prepared and presented with passion and precision. It was the start of a perfect culinary adventure, made even more memorable by our warm, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and exacting server, Daniel, who perceived and delivered the kind of hospitality that is nonexistent in the 21st century until now. The inventive cocktails with flower floats and hand etched ice cube accompanied by the unforgettable bar snack beckoned what what was yet to come. We were wowed by the creative vision, flavors and artistic expression of each course, a shared hand cut lamb tartare, so delicate and perfect was the hint of alder wood smoke, the crunch of rye crumb, alongside the slightly, salt cured yolk, edible leaves, droplets of sauce. A shared first course that will be a lasting yearning. On to the entrees. The perfectly crisp skinned Steelhead filet with micro-turnips, trumpet mushrooms and black garlic gnocchi in a wonderful puddle of flavorful jus. How is it possible to elevate the chicken? Charlotte brought a locally farmed fowl to new heights, based on the texture, our guess, the breast meat sous vide tender, flavorful and juicy with the opposing texture and flavor profile, a crisped wing stuffed with foie bras plated like an abstract art palette. The ying and yang of subtle meets bold. Each course was accompanied by the guest’s choice of a uniquely curated global and PNW selection of wines by the glass poured first as a taste, table side. We finished with the creative deconstruction of a classic apple tart, here the apple is the star in compressed form decorated by small constellations of crisp and cream. A light, delicious, fruit-forward odyssey and satisfying finish to an experience that lingers. Charlotte is a destination you will not want to miss and is guaranteed to ensure your return. Thank you to all the hospitality and culinary stars that made for such an unforgettable evening.

Amazing bar!

I stopped in the bar causally and brought in my nephew. The bar crew John, Jen, and Levi made us feel so welcomed! Each and every one of them brought their own personal touch. You can tell they enjoy working together and made sure to make us feel at home. We had a great time and got to try a range of liquor and great cocktails.

Michelle was an amazing server. She even provided us with a list of recommendations of places to see while in Seattle. She was so nice and made sure our meal was perfect.

Restaurant/Lounge Experience

By Niki H |

Fine dining can be intimidating and sometimes you're reluctant to try something new. Charlotte has created their tasting menu for the fall of 2021. I highly recommend it. Tasting menus are a great way to get a feel of what the restaurant encompasses as a whole and also allows you to try local ingredients and things that are in season. If that's not your thing, their regular dinner menu is great! I always love hanging out in the lounge. It's an easy-going atmosphere. Their cocktail is awesome and there's something for everyone! However, if you're in the lounge and are feeling adventurous, don't hesitate to grab Toshi or John (awesome bartenders) to whip you up something delicious. The service is wonderful. Everyone is great and always does their best. I know there has been a shortage of staff at a lot of restaurants and all we can do as diners is be kind and understanding. I give them all the kudos for doing what they can with what they have, especially during the pandemic!

Lavish city dining experience

By Ashley Joie |

To start, my party and I shared the Pure Country Pork Belly, Hama Hama Oyster Ceviche, and Raclette Agnolotti. All were absolutely divine, but would absolutely insist that anyone visiting Charlotte try the pork belly. I had the Halibut for my main dish. It was perfectly buttery and the black truffle and lingonberry were an amazing combination. The ambience of the lounge, with its exquisite interior design and panorama views of the city, is unlike any fine-dining experience I've had. Our server was kind and personable, and had suggestions for each of my party's different tastes.

Arthur of Lotte Hotel is the star

By Leila B |

Booked a table online mostly for the great reviews and amazing views. I emailed the restaurant and Naleisha very kindly replied which was really appreciated. When we arrived at the Lotte hotel we were greeted by the lovely Arthur. He was the highlight of our time here. He was welcoming and friendly and took us by elevator up to the restaurant. The hostess of Charlotte greeted us warmly and offered to take our coats which was a nice touch. I had asked for a window table but we were a bit disappointed to find the main dining room where I thought we would be sat was closed for Christmas day morning. They did kindly accommodate us with a window table which was nice of her but it was small and the views whilst good just weren't as nice as in the main dining room. Our server came over and to be honest whilst he was polite he was just very miserable during the whole meal. Especially considering it was Christmas day and my birthday. The food was lovely, well presented and tasty. However he got a couple of things wrong with our order which had he been a bit more smiley and friendly wouldn't have bothered us at all. However all the other staff who came over to our table were friendly, professional and gave excellent service, it was just a shame he was our server. They did give us a free mimosa for my birthday but this was only acknowledged at the end of the meal when I was the only one left at the table. It is expensive here with a 20% service charge and then they ask for a tip on top which we gave but when spending 25% on a tip I would expect a friendlier and better service from our server. Saying this we did enjoy our breakfast here as the food was good, the venue is very chic and the rest of the staff gave great friendly service. On leaving the hotel the amazing Arthur made friendly conversation and even offered to take our photo by the tree, he then showed us round the old church as my mum had mentioned the beautiful stained glass windows. Arthur is a credit to the Lotte Hotel and we all said how lovely he was and what a difference he made. Sadly though based on this experience with our server I probably wouldn't return as we had much better service at another hotel restaurant during our stay so would choose to return their instead. Its a shame as this place has so much potential and Naleisha and Arthur were very lovely but I wouldn't want to risk being served by somebody as miserable as him again especially when you are on a celebratory holiday. Maybe he was having an off day which is fair enough but as we only had a couple of days in Seattle he should be aware how his attitude can make people feel who are just wanting to enjoy a special meal out together. He was the only negative of our experience so maybe give it a try as hopefully he will be in a better mood next time or you will be served by one of the other lovely staff or even better get to meet the amazing Arthur. Good food and views are offered here.

A Stellar Staff Shines Amid Culinary Setbacks

By Rebecca M |

Our visit to Charlotte Restaurant & Lounge was a mix of highs and lows, but thanks to the stellar staff and inviting ambiance, we would consider returning—just not for a full meal. To start, we ordered three appetizers. The rye bread was absolutely delicious, with a depth of flavor and texture that set the bar high. The Green Goddess Caesar was another standout—fresh, flavorful, and well-executed (though overdressed for our taste). Unfortunately, the pork belly was a letdown. The presentation was confusing, and when we inquired about how it was meant to be eaten, there didn’t seem to be a clear answer. We later learned the chef had left two weeks ago, which may have contributed to the inconsistency. The pork belly itself was overcooked—the fat, which should have been luxuriously melty, was instead rubbery and unappetizing. For our entrées, we had mixed experiences. The short ribs were quite tasty but lacked seasoning, which could have taken them to the next level. The cacio e pepe had decent flavors but suffered from a slightly gummy texture. The biggest disappointment was the halibut, which was absolutely hammered. After just one bite, neither of us wanted to continue eating it. What stood out more than the dish itself was that no one seemed to notice we had left it virtually untouched. We weren’t expecting a comp, but in a restaurant of this caliber, attention to such details should be a given. Additionally, none of our dishes arrived hot—or even warm. It seemed as though everything had sat for too long before making it to our table, though we never felt the service was slow. Thankfully, dessert offered a much-needed bright spot and gave us something truly enjoyable to eat, since we were still quite hungry at that point. The yuzu tart was the unexpected favorite, and Egemann, our server, was absolutely right to recommend it. The flourless chocolate cake was rich, decadent, and flawlessly executed, while the Alexander Hamilton dessert was indulgent, comforting, and beautifully balanced. The pastry chef deserves serious accolades, as these were the highlight of the evening and the one part of the meal we couldn’t stop talking about. Where Charlotte truly shines is in its staff and ambiance. The hostess was gracious and warm, setting a welcoming tone from the moment we arrived. The bartender (we believe his name was Michael) was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. Our server, Egemann, was engaging, attentive, and made thoughtful recommendations that enhanced our experience. The true star of the evening, however, was Gene, the sommelier. He is one of those humans who, once you meet them, you will never forget them. His energy was inviting, his knowledge extensive yet approachable, and he made learning about the wines feel like an engaging conversation rather than a lecture. His passion for his craft was evident, and he turned what could have been a disappointing meal into a memorable experience. We truly dislike having anything less than glowing feedback, but honesty is important. While we likely won’t return for a full dining experience, we will absolutely be back to enjoy drinks and small bites at the bar, soaking in the lively yet relaxed atmosphere and listening to the live music, which was an entertaining but unobtrusive treat. Charlotte Restaurant & Lounge has something special in its team and setting—we just hope the food can eventually match the excellence of the service.

Highly recommend

By antiTNF |

Had dinner here while staying at the hotel for the week. The ambience is outstanding. Warm. Spacious and great views. Our server was unpretentious and made us feel welcome. The food was excellent. Prices are high but I think worth it. Highly recommend it especially for a special occasion

fabulous food with a fabulous view

By sophia4230 |

We had the opportunity to dine here during our stay at the Lotte Seattle hotel. Brenda our server was a gem - ready with recommendations & clearly has a know-how on their offerings. The oyster appetizer we had was unique in presentation and very refreshing in taste without having to slurp it off a shell. My husband who had the steak couldn't stop talking about the pureed potatoes. This place a lovely ambiance but the service - all around truly hits the mark.

Random Dinner

Not from the area I found this place on maps, service was fantastic, food presentation was immaculate. My starter did not sit right with me and the waitress too it off the bill, the Sea-bass was lush. Highly recommended if in Seattle.

Marvelous Dinners

By Jamieesq |

I've had two experiences here and both were wonderful. Be sure to ask Gene for assistance with the winelist. He's terrific and very experienced, highly trained. Charlotte's ala carte menu in lounge is terrific too.

Curated engaged service

By cjohnski |

Lounge Happy Hour experience for drink and albacore ceviche was a delight. Tyler knew the menu and flavor profile of every drink, and he gave excellent recommendations based on our preferences. We landed there from a day of conference room meetings and Daniel up leveled our moods immediately. Then we moved to the restaurant (no resv needed on a Monday evening although several tables were engaged in their meals). The team shared service for our table seamlessly and Daniel was amazing. He made creative drink recommendations and was the perfect combination of kindness, humor, and knowledge. My friend and I are each leaders in our business and found ourselves discussing the value of his style and obvious passion for his craft to our experience. We’ll return because of his great service.

Zero professionalism

By swissyodel |

Terrible service, they were making mistake on top of mistake. Zero professionalism and no options for vegetarian. When we asked if it would be possible for the chef to prepare something special for one of our guests that was vegetarian, we got as an answer that the chef was too busy preparing the dishes for a big buffet they would have over the weekend. The view from the restaurant is really nice but that’s the only thing.

Lovely way to end the year.

By Eva |

Had been wanting to experience Charlotte after hearing accolades of the food and overall experience. The evening was purely wonderful, especially the company, and a perfect way to finish the year with a lovely meal in a unique setting. Noteworthy is the large restaurant with the Nordic style interior design. There were some lamps and especially sofa and chairs that I would have loved to own at home, but I digress. The cocktail I had was yum but I forget the name and I was distracted, which I didn’t mind. Octopus as a starter was cooked perfectly and I was looking forward to that the most and the desert. Blackened cod was delicious and perfectly seasoned and the wild rice was tasty. Now the desert, this was the highlight of the meal and for once I wished I could have had a second. Lemon yuzu tart made with matcha gelato meringue and macadamia. Pure bliss! This is the place for a special meal, date night or any celebration.

Best new restaurant in Seattle!

By Scott Callens |

Incredible food, drinks and service in the heart of downtown Seattle on the 16th floor. Favorites were the Waygu Tartar and the Sleepless in Seattle cocktail!

Spectacular in every way

By Melibea |

Everything was perfection! From the spectacular views, most delicious octopus, cauliflower cod soup, halibut, pasta, and oh my, the 3 desserts we ordered! And then on top of that, the service and ambience was so elegant yet comfortable. Our lead server, Daniel Gorges, was especially exceptional, and truly made our night extra special. Can’t wait to go back!

Amazing dinner

We ordered Halibut and Black Cod. Both were delightfully tasty and beautifully presented! Our server was super nice, knowledgeable and attentive to all our requests. Love the classy yet relaxed ambience of the lounge. Highly recommended!

Daniel - King of All Bartenders

By Jay Tee |

Daniel is hands down the best bartender of all time. Hooked us up with treats after the kitchen closed and prepared an extraordinary rye drink…”The Usual.” This king made our night.

Allergen friendly

By Danny R |

My wife and I had dinner for her birthday while we stayed at the Lotte Hotel. In the reservation, we had the option to ask for specific accommodations, so we asked if it was possible to have a view when we made our reservation. When we arrived, although there were tables by the window that were available (and eventually occupied by others later on) we were never offered any of the tables despite asking again. The food was good, really good quality ingredients. My wife has is allergic to lactose and they were able to accommodate her meal, which she ate and had no issues. PSA: The wagyu is not Japanese Wagyu and did taste like an A5. Please keep that in mind when ordering.

Cozy lounge, incredible drinks with a view, and lovely service.

By Brittany B |

We booked a stay at the hotel for a dinner show. We stopped at the lounge for some drinks pre-show. The lounge is beautiful and even though it was really busy the staff that helped us, Daniel, was funny, kind, and made us feel settled. We came back after the show and he even asked us about it. His drink recommendations were incredible and the oysters were some of the best I've had in Seattle. Highly recommend giving them a try even if you don't typically enjoy horseradish. We look forward to staying here again and trying out more of the menu.

New September Fall Pre Fixe Menu

By Tiffany Z |

This is my third time eating at Charlotte Restaurant and I’m blown away every time. Food of course outstanding! They even have a starter to our starter and a pre dessert to our dessert!! Talk about getting your moneys worth for this pre fixe menu! Our server Daniel was spectacular! So kind and friendly; always stopping by to check on us! Honestly service is always a 10 here! Overall I’ll be stopping here on every special occasion!

Unexpectedly delicious lounge menu

By KingConnie |

When I was checking out this restaurant online, all I saw was the prix fixe menu, which sounded too fancy and nouvelle for a family (2 parents and a 14-year-old). While we were waiting for our room to be ready, a bartender handed us the lounge men, and hello Betty! Happy hour made us happy. Old Fashioned cocktail was as good as any I've had. Smoked whitefish spread with potato chips was salty and delicious. Churros were the BEST I've ever had. We were so impressed with happy hour that we came back for dinner in the lounge. Broccoli Tempura was lighter and more interesting than I expected. I reluctantly shared the Pea Cavatelli with my husband, who ordered the Louie Salad. My kid DEVOURED the burger, calabrian chili, spicy pickle and all. So much for worrying that the food would be too grown-up and complex. I'd say the only miss were the oysters, which were garnished with something less than ice cold. Second dessert of Matcha Pistachio Cake was another home run. Honestly, I think I could have eaten all my meals in the lounge and been happy. Gene, our server, was a rockstar all the way. He was also our server at breakfast on our last day! How he does both evening service and morning service while keeping a smile on his face, is something of a miracle.

Madi And Daniel

By Tami H |

Madi & Daniel have infectious personalities. The customer service is superior to none. The Food and Drinks are great quality for a fair price. We will definitely come back on our next trip to Seattle.

Downtown Decadence

By That424Girl |

Seattle sets the bar high with seafood and Charlotte is the best, bar none. Luxury hotel restaurants can be overpriced, pretentious and mediocre but Charlotte is teeming with warm, amiable staff that knows their menu and their manners. The drinks are ridiculously delicious and the food is heartbreakingly beautiful and insanely mouth-watering. The views of the Puget Sound are just the icing on the cake. Speaking of which, make room for dessert; the soufflé is worth abandoning every diet. The decor is upscale yet cozy and inviting. Valet greeted me with an umbrella to shield me from the rain and discreetly radioed my last name to the hostess so they greeted me by name when I arrived at Charlotte. Phew! Talk about fancy! Iggy Azalea has nothing on them! ;)

Great drinks and service!

By Susanna M |

Daniel was an amazing bartender! He made the best specialty cocktail called “Victors Choice.” We love talking to him because he was very nice and informative.

What a view

By HolgerG909 |

Came here with a few friends on a Friday night for drinks and bar bites. Great view from the lounge/restaurant. Friendly staff. Great selection of draught beers/spirits/cocktails.

One of the best dining experiences I've ever had

By Steve H |

The food is outstanding. The chef's resume includes Per Se and the French Laundry and it shows in the food. The service is impeccable. No hovering but mysteriously appeared whenever we needed it wanted something. Floor to ceiling windows give outstanding views from just about anywhere. It's now in our permanent date night list.

Reception dinner

By hana f |

I hosted a reception dinner for my family in one of their private rooms. The venue itself is SO gorgeous. The concierge Arthur was one of the highlights of my stay at the hotel and helped my guests easily find their way to the dinner. All the valet attendants were sweet and helpful. As for the dinner, the event coordinator was responsive, helpful and kept up with all my demands. A few hiccups like no floral arrangements even if we discussed that, but in hindsight, the space is so beautiful truly doesn't need a lot going on. The highlight for me was with the private dinner room, you get your own waiters. We were BLESSED to get Chris. He was so on it from the start, made me feel 100% less stressed and just was an overall vibe. The food was tasty, drinks were poured and would recommend this to host dinners. And please, if you are able to, request Chris to be your waiter. 10/10

meh

By matt n frank |

From an 8 day visit to the Northwest , this was bar far our most expensive meal and somehow our least favourite. Food was average at best, dietary requirements were missed, questions about meal were deemed to be too much as “the menu just changed”. Having eaten in various establishments over the years this is normally as sign of a detached foh and boh operation

First impression always matter

By Thomas |

From starter, i really liked the sweet & kind hostess who received us and guided us to our table. Then, we had our server whom i can’t remember his name but had cool glasses. This server was up & down trying to bring his excellence everywhere he goes & be as more servicial as possible with the biggest smile on his face. Food was delicious so far, i had this amazing black cod that i really loved how delicate they treated it and how mesmerizing the fish was in my mouth. Speechless. Not only this restaurant has great ambiance, but also they have a great manager who has checked up on us but also was very quick to solve anything in the most positive attitude ever. I finished my night with an amazing dessert that left my impressions sky high, whereas the white chocolate one was truly a bliss.

Exceeded expectations

By TampaFLA_Dan |

Fantastic views of downtown Seattle. The food, ambience and service was truly memorable. Ordered the special, not a regular menu item and was blown away. Our server, Daniel, was an elite professional and added to the value. This is not a run of the mill fine dining experience, but an exceptional one. Oh, did I mention they had a tenor, guitar jazz duo playing live? They were very good. Next time we're in Seattle we want to stay at the Lotte Hotel where the restaurant is located just because of the restaurant!

Great night out with friends!

By Kelsey Collins |

This restaurant is amazing with beautiful views all around. The atmosphere is definitely worth a visit and the staff is great. I really enjoyed the flatbread. I could’ve eaten the whole thing to myself. The food is themed PNW so if you visit Seattle, check this place out with the view of the water.

Not recommended

By Grant |

I'm puzzled by all of the positive reviews. I would never recommend this restaurant. It took 30 min to place a drink order. The A5 Wagyu was a chewy piece of gristle that was difficult to cut with a steak knife. The Hamachi Crudo was hamachi tossed in sour plum juice. The salmon was fishy tasting with a limp skin. The decor is more like a coffee shop and don't strive for a window seat. Yes, there is the Bay in the distance but mostly you are looking down on squalid roof tops with rusted air conditioning units and garbage.

Amazing Food and Breathtaking Views

By Fishing for Fun |

Picture if you will being 16 stories up looking over the Puget Sound as the sun sets in the distance. While you are encapsulated by the stunning view, tantalizing fragrances catch your attention and a beautifully plated entrée and cocktail are gracefully placed in front of you. Your conversation flow redirects from the view to the perfectly cooked Porterhouse Steak in front of you. One bite in and you can taste the level of love put into every dish, each bite leaving you beckoning for more. Before you know it your dinner service transistons to desert and your waiter [Trevor served us he was fantastic] expertly describes each offering and informs your party of each of the delectable options. A few moments pass, and you are blown away by the rich textures and taste. A dining experience unmatched in it's elegance. I cannot express enough how absolutely amazing this restaurant and their staff are. I will be back as soon as I can, and suggest you do the same!

The best stop of the trip!

By korey p |

My 3 girlfriends and I were visiting back home for our spring break. We found Charlotte Restaurant and Lounge on social media and we’re nothing but impressed with the hospitality, ambiance, and delicious food. Our waiter Daniel brought our love back for the city. He gave us an unforgettable experience and gave us recommendations for the unforgettable night to continue. Thank you, Daniel!!!

Wow .. just wow. Best fine dining experience in the Northwest.

Celebrating a birthday at this restaurant was just an incredible experience. we had the Lamb tartar, smoked duck breast & corn cavatelli. All absolutely delicious and very innovative marriage of flavors & stunning presentation.

Delicious dining experience

By Carmela P |

One of the best restaurant experiences we have ever had. In the cocktail lounge, Tyler started us off with beautiful cocktails. Gene the wine sommelier was over the top with his knowledge. The food was a gastronomic delight! Our only regret we wanted to stay longer. Our delightful server at breakfast with Nick, very professional. He made an absolutely great cappuccino.

Amazing experience!

I have been in awesome restaurants saying they are "the finest", but I can confidently say that this restaurant totally is! The food was unbelievably delicious and the service outstanding. Love every second of the experience! Will go back as soon as I can!

Deserves a Place Among The Best Restaurants in the Globe

By S0ulshine |

As self-described “foodies,” we have had the privilege of dining in many of the finest restaurants across the globe. Charlotte deserves its place among them. Here was our experience: We were greeted by the hostess, Raisa, who offered a huge smile and deep bow. When we realized we made a mistake and made a reservation for 3 instead of 4 (we had a late addition to our party), she swiftly went into action to set up a new place setting and escorted us to a table with a beautiful view of the Seattle waterfront. Our server, Hibo, immediately appeared with menus and asked for our drink orders. Since the bar is known for its handcrafted cocktails, I asked for a recommendation for something interesting but not sweet (I’m usually a purest when it comes to my spirits). She expertly guided me toward the Gold Fashioned, a sophisticated concoction of Japanese Whiskey, saffron, angostura and black lemon bitters. It was excellent. She also kindly brought a non-alcoholic beverage of watermelon juice, cucumber and lime for my 14 year old son. As we drank our cocktails, we perused the menu which was full of really interesting combinations. I’m a bit embarrassed at how much our table ate but, after a long day of travel, we were famished. And, it does give me the full experience to share with you. We tried 3 of the 4 starters. The chilled melon soup is not something that we would normally order but it was a really lovely, light palate cleanser to begin our meal. My son practically inhaled the Hamachi crudo, and the roasted octopus was the best I have ever had (and I have spent ample time in Greece, where this dish originated. Well, Charlotte has perfected it). Octopus is very easy to overcook; not this one. It practically melted in my mouth and the accompanying chermoula brought just the right amount of acidity. Next, we dove into the tomato and pickled peach salad (an unexpected, but delicious flavor combination), the spaghetti and clams (homemade noodles) and lamb tartare, which we all devoured. Hibo suggested we also add an appetizer portion of the corn cavatelli, which we did and were glad for the recommendation. At this point, we were approaching our limit, but, not ones to give up, we persevered with the salmon, halibut and wagyu. Each dish was a masterpiece – both in preparation and in presentation. When we were unable to complete our dishes, Hibo happily offered to box up the delicious leftovers. Finally dessert. Deconstructed lemon tart and trio of homemade sorbet (watermelon, passion fruit and strawberry) finished this incredible meal. The tart arrived in a tiny glass cloche and was so light on the palate, it was like eating a cloud. The fruit flavor in the sorbets were so pure and strong, it was more like eating the actual fruit rather than a version of it. Watermelon was the stand out. From the time Raisa greeted us to the moment Hibo bid us good night, this was a memorable dining experience, one we will never forget. Thank you to the entire staff – the chef, bartender, pastry chef, servers (even Brenda who didn’t have our table but stopped by to welcome us and exchange a few nice pleasantries). We can’t wait to return!

Birthday Dinner

By Stefan W |

We visited The Charlotte for a birthday dinner and it was PHENOMENAL. The meal was outstanding but Daniel, our server, truly made the experience what it was. The views, the food, and the atmosphere make The Charlotte an 11/10 (but make sure you’re with Daniel!)

Best service in Seattle

Fantastic food and drink with the best service in Seattle. All of the staff was incredible, especially Daniel. This was our first time there for dinner. Great place for happy hours too. Highly recommend.

Best restaurant in Seattle?!

By Adam B |

I made the trip from out of town and the TLDR version is this was probably the best experience I’ve ever had a restaurant. Daniel made the experience more than I could image. It started as personalized cocktails that were worthy of solo experiences themselves. Then it was a simple request of experiencing the foie gras as a starter. I’ve never had it but it was the most amazing thing I’ve ever had. The entrees were cooked to absolute perfection; seriously no complaints. The service made the entire experience. And then the birthday treats. Thank you again Daniel!

Amazing restaurant, food, and service!

By Michael N |

Daniel was an outstanding waiter. He gave us great advice on what to order and took excellent care of us. Food was incredible. Ribeye cap was the best steak I've ever had. Everything was beautifully plated. Restaurant itself looked great with awesome views of City.

Not the best on a cold winter’s night

By ankiandlarry |

Very pleasant setting, but we had dinner on December 23rd. The kitchen must have been very short staffed due to an ice storm that day in Seattle. A Manhattan cocktail that I ordered never arrived, so I cancelled it and substituted a glass of wine after eating my appetizer, which was a tasty octopus dish. Then we had to wait an inordinately long time for our main courses, which reached us an hour and fifteen minutes after we had been seated. My grilled pork chop was tasty and tender. However, my wife ordered black cod with chanterelles. There were no chanterelles, shiitake mushrooms instead. And she was supposed to get potatoes and sunchokes with the fish; the sunchokes were absent. Also, the potatoes were cold, which the waiter said was how the dish was supposed to be prepared. I think the waiter realized things were not up to par, as he volunteered to comp us for two glasses of wine and said he hoped we would give them another chance in the future. P.S. Our room in the hotel was lovely and well-appointed (although the minibar was empty).

A Michelin-starred Experience!

By RVA-Flaneur |

The best meal I’ve had in Seattle since moving here in 2017, and the best meal anywhere since visiting Lyon & Dijon that same year. Great setting. Great service. Sublime cooking. I’ve grown weary of professional restaurant reviewers touting yet another sticky tabled noodle house as some sort of grand culinary experience. Charlotte goes back to the days of creativity and execution I remember from my years living in San Francisco in the late 80’s and early 90’s – days of Jeremiah Tower & Alice Waters fast-forwarded 30 years. Setting – you’re on the 15th floor of F5 Tower, with essentially half (or more) of the floor dedicated to the lounge & restaurant. The lounge has all these wonderful, well-spaced seating areas with an east and north view, essentially of other downtown buildings. The bar splits the lounge from the restaurant, which faces west towards the Sound. Tables are well spaced (suspect they’d be so even w/o Covid) and most have a great view out towards the water. Service – highly polished. Attentive w/o being intrusive. Highly professional and very friendly. Able to describe ingredients and preparations when asked. Top notch. Lounge – wonderful selection of cocktails (and hard liquors, should you have a favorite bourbon or gin). Asian inspired. The guy who mixed up my two cocktails was, in my mind, not a bartender but a mixologist. For those who know Anvil (Houston) or Williams & Graham (Denver), that’s what we’re talking – creative combinations; unique mix of sweet/sour/bitter; excellent preparation. True artists at work here. Oh, and did I mention the smoked whitefish nibbles with homemade potato chips – this was truly out of this world, and got me excited about the rest of the meal. Dinner – Wagyu beef tartare was wonderfully done. The dollops of kale aioli conjured what it might have been like to have been the steer who gave his life for the dish munching on grass in a wide-open field. A very generous portion, with homemade kale chips serving as the ‘toast chips’ for the tartare. My Chilean sea bass might have been even better – it came plated with a lovely set of accompaniments, including fern cuttings, fava beans and radish. All the flavors go so well together, while being special in their own right. Like the cocktail list, the food is Asian influenced (though with a light and subtle hand). In Europe, the tartare and sea bass entrée would easily be worthy of one Michelin star (if not 2)! Great selection of wines by the bottle or glass, as well as beers, ciders and non-alcoholic options. Finished with a Banana Souffle with Espresso Gelato & Chocolate Sauce – Yum! I came away very impressed. I also liked the somewhat casual/relaxed vibe – though the food & service is world class, you don’t get a stuffy ‘tuxedoed waiters and white tablecloth’ vibe from the restaurant. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

So Wonderful!

By Hannah B |

First thing first the food was incredible! Had most of the appetizers - the bisque was a favorite of ours, and then the black cod for dinner. My husband said it was the best he’s ever had! The corn dessert is a must try in our minds. But the real experience differentiator was the service. Daniel was exceptional and his energy was contagious. Very refreshing service experience and we will absolutely return. (And request Daniel!)

The atmosphere is cozy and pleasant

Stopped in for dinner and had a great meal....The atmosphere is cozy and pleasant. The dishes were delicious as were the wine and cocktail recommendations.

Exquisite meal, every detail perfect

By Danya |

My family of seven had dinner at Charlotte on our recent trip to Seattle. As soon as we entered the lobby we were impressed with how careful they were regarding Covid, taking our temperature and offering us hand sanitizer. We were greeted by name, which made us feel quite special. The restaurant is housed in a very impressive hotel and as soon as we exited the elevator, we were thrilled with the spacious contemporary setting and lovely views of the city. The restaurant was immaculate and the waitstaff was friendly and responsive. The moment our cocktails and bread came out, we knew we were in for a treat. Every appetizer, main course, and dessert were as beautiful as they were delicious. Every detail was perfect. Finally, our waiter, Daniel, did everything he could to make our evening special. He was helpful, friendly, cheerful, and responsive. The service was impeccable. I really cannot recommend this restaurant enough. If you appreciate the art of fine food like we do, you will see why it was one of the most memorable highlights of our trip.

What a view and the Corn Gateaux!

By Dr. Beach |

The staff here were so welcoming and helpful. The halibut was just cooked to perfection. But oh my!, the corn Gateaux for dessert was the star of the show. You HAVE to order it here!

Amazing View with JAZZ

By Tim S |

Lotte staff member, Eric recommended that we come on Friday for live jazz music. Did not disappoint. Amazing view and service.

Drove to Seattle from Vancouver for my son’s 29th birthday! We had an amazing time .

By Monique P |

The views are spectacular from here and we were so entitled to have Daniel Gorgeous be our server and what we can now call a friend! Gave us amazing service by showing us the best view points from the Charlotte , gave recommendations to excellent places to enjoy a special nite out , which was at Ascend Steak and Sushi bar. He made our experience at the hotel very memorable. We visited him nightly for espresso martinis and lemon drops . The truffle fries are a must as well! Ty Daniel from your new Canadian friends !

Ask for Daniel he's the best

By Eden J |

Amazing view and ambiance! I have very strict diet restrictions and they were very accommodating. Not to mention our amazing server Daniel! He was top tier for sure. Made the night the night. 10 out of 10 would recommend. We will definitely be going back.

Great service and drinks, dishes were a hit or miss

By Lsc |

This review is for the bar and restaurant. Both spacious, yet had a meticulously crafted to feel like a living room atmosphere at the bar area and the restaurant like a dining room with great views. Their cocktail, mocktail, and wine lists were extensive and full of creativity! Some drinks were themed which was super fun (the theme was Wicked for the movie and musical that was in town). We were here for a friend’s birthday celebration and the staff were accommodating not only to how we wanted to share dishes and also dietary restrictions. You would be hard pressed to find a better person to take care of us than Gene. He was pure fun with class, and made sure we had a great time. He took the time to explain the menu and talked about his favorites, which were great recommendations. I will say that the dishes were a bit hit or miss. The appetizers were a good size and most of them were appetizing; however the Bossam that we ordered was a bit on the thick and fatty side. We also ordered the miso butter pasta as our entree as did some of our friends. We agreed that it was super salty and the pasta, slightly undercooked. The rest of the appetizers ordered were tasty based on the few bites I took from my friends’ plates (tonnato, octopus). The highlight (aside from Gene!) was their pastry/dessert program. Don’t miss it! Each one of them was unique and had a fresh take.

WOW. Just Wow

By Kendal N |

This restaurant is nothing short of amazing. The food is pure art. Every dish feels like it was made just for you. Chef Alex does a wonderful job! I had a pleasure of having Daniel as our waiter. He was very knowledgeable, personable, and the perfect amount of attentiveness. I cannot wait to go back and enjoy the Porterhouse and their signature cocktail, Soju Spritz! Being able to have this level of service and quality of food is definitely an experience you do not want to miss out on!

Amazing view & fantastic dessert

By Susanne B |

We ate at the restaurant because we stayed at the hotel, but will for sure be back just for dinner or the bar - great place for a special dinner, to take friends from out of town or for business. Scandinavian/modern look, caring service, and very airy which made us feel safe to eat and even meet friends at the bar during Covid times. The menu is small, but very creative, everything we tried was outstanding, and we believe reasonably priced for such classy food. Make sure to leave room for dessert! Very special! Espresso was hot and good! Call ahead to get a vegan meal! And - make sure not to miss a quick visit to the "ballroom" when you enter the hotel lobby - just up the escalator on the right, which is really the old methodist church - a Seattle landmark. What a great place for an elaborate wedding or business event. The renovation work seems well done, respectful of this special place.

Skip the Easter Brunch

By CM |

Overall our party of 5 had a poor experience. We had booked this as a price fix menu Easter brunch. The service and food were poor. There were not enough servers and there was a long wait for simple tasks such as clearing plates, coffee refills, receiving new dining utensils. The appetizers were poor. For a restaurant that specializes in seafood the oysters were not good. We all had different entrees and although the eggs were fair, the rest were poor-salmon was too salty, fried chicken and waffles were greasy with little chicken meat, french toast soggy, pancakes too sweet. The desserts were good but did not make up for the rest of the food. The tip was automatically added even though service was poor. Although the view is good the ambience was still poor since we were seated by a table with one patron having a persistent and horrible cough and no attempts by the staff were made to improve this worrisome situation.

GREAT FOOD BUT DREADFUL SERVICE.

By Jonathan B |

We were so looking forward to dining here. Unfortunately, the service was so dreadful it was difficult to enjoy the outstanding food. The wine and cocktails were not great, but we didn’t let that deter us. The stone oven octopus and the hamachi crudo were unique and delightful. The king salmon was amazing and the duck breast was exceptional. Unfortunately, we had to share an elevator to the 16th floor with 7-8 unmasked people. The person at the desk ignored us, but we found the restaurant around the corner. The host was wonderful, but the server was truly the server from Hell. We have had great food AND service at restaurants such as Daniel, Le Bernardin, and The Modern in Manhattan; Everest and Alinea in Chicago; Gary Danko in San Francisco, etc. However, we have never had great cuisine coupled with dreadful service. The restaurant wasn’t busy, but our server would just wander off and ignore us for long stretches of time. We tried to wait patiently, but it became impossible. We decided to skip the dessert course simply because we weren’t sure it was worth the wait. If you go there anyway (after all, the food is excellent), just make sure you don’t get Heba as your server, although I’d be shocked if she isn’t terminated soon. As my wife said “why serve amazing food if you won’t invest in competent servers.” Good luck if you go there!

Memorable fine dining experience in Seattle Downtown!

By Love heart70 |

Best fine dining experience in Seattle! Beautiful interior design and food is amazing. I specifically‘Thank you’ to Hibo, Kevin and Raisa for the great service. If you’re looking for something to indulge yourself, this is the one.

Excellent hospitality

By MDK34 |

Daniel went above and beyond to ensure we had the most incredible experience. TRUE Hospitality is truly hard to come by these days and Daniel embodied that. The attention and care to every touch point was chefs kiss. I highly recommend going and getting a table near the window… in Daniel’s section.

Best Drinks & Best Service <3

By Joseph W |

Got a quick drink after work, and had to stay for another... and another. Daniel made me the best cocktail I've had and he's such a great person to be around. Whoever this beautiful person is please give him a raise. He was dancing around everyone, helping wherever and was a pleasure to be around. I'll be back here after work as long as Daniel is there too!!

Lovely ambience

By Sandy N |

My eggs benedict on crab cakes were very good. Our server was welcoming and professional. However, it appeared there were not very many servers working that day and the service was pretty slow. Also, I made the reservation 2 months ahead and requested a window table as I was treating a friend on her birthday. We were instead, given a table in the middle of the restaurant and all of the window tables were occupied.

Excellent food

By Helmut |

The food was absolutely delicious and I truly enjoyed every bite. The salmon was perfectly cooked, definitely would reorder. The highlight was the soufflé which came perfect. Service was attentive and friendly. The restaurant is spacious and thus there is a lot of distance between diners, i.e., a good place during these weird pandemic times. Definitely worth a repeat.

Exceptional hidden gem

By Tod O |

Exceptional food and service. Very relaxed and cosmopolitan atmosphere I had the prime rib, which was the most tender thing. I think I’ve ever eaten. I would recommend this to my friends and colleagues.

A 5-Star Dining Experience

Our party tried one of everything on the menu and nothing disappointed. The food was inventively crafted and lovingly prepared. Our server, Hibo, was professional, courteous, and exemplary of modern fine dining service.

Very Special Birthday Lunch

By Sarah A |

I recently celebrated my birthday with lunch at the Charlotte Restaurant & Lounge located in Lotte Hotel (Seattle). I had a wonderful time. The Seattle waterfront view was amazing. My partner and I were greeted by a friendly hostess Fiona and our waiter Tim who was very enjoyable. The menu was very modern and the food was delicious. But save room cause the desserts were over the top. I would recommend the Charlotte Restaurant to anyone looking for an upscale dining with great views, cozy atmosphere and best desserts in Seattle.

SHAR-LOT-TAY May have the best cooking in Seattle

By Philip G |

Charlotte (Pronounced Shar Lot Tay - At first pretentious - After brain kicked in - It's in the Lot Tay Hotel - Marketing Decision) produced the best food we have eaten in Seattle. The dishes arriving from the kitchen were superb, unparalleled in the Emerald City. The setting was elegant, soothing, with a beautiful view, although a bit odd. Unfortunately, the service and timing were disorganized. There appeared to be little supervision and direction for the inexperienced servers. It's almost impossible to get seasoned restaurant employees during this transitional period. The wrong dishes and drinks were served to the wrong people, everywhere I looked, in the expansive room. That's one of the issues, this may be the largest dining room I ever been served elegant food in. The room size alone makes the job more difficult for the servers, who are told to do things like show the bottle when a diner orders a glass of wine. That's one of their issues, pretension without the substance. There is also a lack of sincerity from the staff. They are very into proving the "Seattle Freeze" is a reality. I asked the maitre d' if I could meet the chef because he went to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, my graduate school alma mater, and I also spent 40 years living in the Badger state. After my request, the maitre d' disappeared and never came back. Maybe I should have sent him a text or email. That's more Seattle. We tried the Hamachi Crudo, the Stone Oven Crudo, Corn Cavatelli, Halibut and Duck. They were all fantastic. The Chef has a light touch, but his cooking packs a subtle punch of flavor, reminding me of the Japanese chefs cooking French food in Paris. Because of the snafus, we were comped dessert, something we didn't expect. The pastry chef is a culinary chemist. It was wonderful. We shall return to Shar-Lot-Tay often. The prices are reasonable, especially in Seattle, for such marvelous food.

Fantastic meal, amazing view, impeccable service

By Princess N |

My husband and I were looking forward to dining here for my birthday and our 4th wedding anniversary. Love the ambiance of this place and the view of the city is just amazing at night! We had the Prix Fixe menu which we thoroughly enjoyed. However, what truly made our experience in this restaurant so special is the service Daniel provided for us. He went above and beyond - always checking on us, gave us local spots to check out, and even got us a table at a private room to enjoy our dessert and champagne with THE MOST ROMANTIC view. Can’t thank him enough! He definitely made our day. Will definitely keep coming back to this restaurant whenever we’re in Seattle.

Give it a miss

By MRE555 |

Extremely poor - waited 90 minutes for food - while other tables were served - brought out everyone’s meal but one, which was 20 minutes later - two fish meals cold and undercooked - pasta meal boring. Informed that they were undergoing a menu change….

The new Charlotte Restaurant at the Lotte Hotel is a great new spot for dining and happy hour!

By Laura L |

Had lunch for the first time at the Charlotte Restaurant and Lounge last week. They have a beautiful view, the tables are comfortably spaced far apart, the food was delicious, and the service was excellent. The King Salmon and Cobb Salads were both very good and were presented beautifully. The wait staff was incredibly warm and welcoming, and we definitely felt like we were VIP's. The servers always checked in on us at the appropriate time, and I will definitely be taking clients here for lunch again!

Outstanding tastes

By JTiptravels |

I just loved the smoked duck and the drinks. Staff are friendly and the decor is tasteful and relaxing.

Great food, great service, great view. Music? Not so much

By Helmut |

It was a nice way to celebrate my last day at my former employer... until the music kicked in and you had to shout to be heard. What a bummer. Playing at a lower volume would have made the evening perfect. Food was, as always, delicious and service friendly and impeccable. Try to book a table by the window, because it is a really good view from there. Will I be back? Of course! But please no more loud music...

Lux dining with amazing staff!

By Lauren F |

I stayed at the hotel the Charlotte is attached to, and figured that I'd try out the restaurant while I was there. Not going to lie, that view really drew me in. I was there at the tail end of breakfast, so I can't say much about the dinner service, but the breakfast is lovely. I had the dungeness crab toast with a pot of ruby oolong tea, and was not disappointed. Highly recommend!

Great service.

By Road452239 |

We had an anniversary dinner at Charlotte’s. The service was exceptional, and Daniel, our waiter, made sure that we had a memorable night for the special occasion by giving us access to a private room for our dessert and to finish off our drinks. Live music and great views topped off the experience. The food was generally very good. We got the set price menu and liked most of the dishes with only a couple that weren’t our cup of tea (but still well prepared). Overall, a night we will definitely remember.

Slipping?

By Helmut |

As usual, the place was awesome, the views stunning, the food (almost) perfect and service extremely friendly. So why not 5/5? Well... some dishes were not up to par. My salmon was overcooked, the octopus was bland, and the dessert (soufflé) was too sweet. I have fonder memories. Pair this with a couple of service faux pas and there goes the point. Needless to say, these are small flaws that can be fixed. But being there at 5PM -- where the place is empty -- makes me wonder.

Great view, pleasing decor

By Sandy N |

This was my second visit to Charlotte and it was a little disappointing. I was treating a friend for her birthday. The restaurant wasn’t very busy, about 5 tables, yet the service was slow. It was a beautiful Seattle day, and we were seated by a window, which was lovely. The ambience and the view from this restaurant are exceptional. I ordered the Monte Cristo sandwich, which was on the dry side and not especially flavorful. French fries came with the sandwich, but were dusted with some sort of herb that gave them a barbecue flavor which I didn’t care for. I decided to take half of the sandwich home and requested it be wrapped rather than boxed. The waiter was very accommodating and even included a little jar of raspberry jam with my leftover.

Game changer

By Trey L |

Went here for just a quick stop to check it out. Ended up getting pointed in all the right directions for the remainder of the evening and taken great care of by the legendary Dan gorgeous, the view during sunset was stunning, the drinks were tasty, and it legit made the bday weekend special. Complete game changer.

Best time ever!!

By Liz C |

Daniel was absolutely amazing and made our first time here such a blast! He was very welcoming and friendly. I would definitely come here again and recommend this place to others !

Charlotte’s Daniel

By Happiness23117888753 |

We have never been to this delightful and decadent restaurant. Upon waltzing off the elevator you are greeted by a New York City-Esque late night lounge. Continuing to the dining/bar area, epically expansive windows looking upon Puget Sound greet you like your first sip of a Vesper. We were immediately seated at a coquettish booth that reminded me of the “SOB” trucks back in Wisconsin that had a bench seat up front - upon turns you slid into the person next to you - hence SOB - Slide over Baby! Well since it was our anniversary, we didn’t need any curves in the road to scooch a little closer. The black cod in a shallow pool of burre blanc immediately transported me to La Bernardaud on a misty night in New York City. We clinked champagne, gave toasts while feedinf each other the most delicious bites of octopus, and yes - double desserts were reveled in. Yet, despite all the above descriptors that are fascinatingly similar to any Michelin Star Restaurant Review - one reason remains that we will frequent this lovely establishment again - Daniel - our server - all words pale in comparison to this fascinating and attentive human being. He is worth the price of admission - such a g, complimentary, authentic, honest, and just someone you meet and instantly want to be his bestie! Charlotte - you are lucky to have him!

Classic forbes level restaurant

By Mayur S |

Reviewing based on FORBES STAR. first of all I made a reservation for lunch and came in an hour early so thank you so much for accomodating us we appreciate it. I want to reduce 1 star for one thing which i did not like it which is when i told a server that “my table is wobbling” which i hate it if i go to fancy place and this happens as a hospitality professional i also know it can be fixed easily by adding a Stabilizer at the bottom. Server said let me see what i can do and he forgot about it so my entire lunch dinning experience was not perfect as everytime i try to cut my food my table was moving up and down. This place is beautiful highrise food spot. From the valet, hostess, server and food everything was excellent. Restaurant was very clean and spacious with a nice centre flower piece and wine glasses around and i liked it as i am a wine guy. Hostess greeted us and asked about how are we doing, where we are from. Got bloody mary to start with which was perfectly garnished came on time. Food was excellent with a great presentation and super hot. I was taking my time to enjoy my food and even after 30 mins my food was still freaking hot which i loved it. I could not finish everything so server offered to pack it for me. Cutlery were marked properly and spotelsss clean before the food came as per the course. Uniforms of the staffs were clean and well hygeine was maintained. Tables were getting reset on time and hostess was helping the server to do it. Other server stopped by to ask how is everything with a great smile. Server never asked if we have any allergy or not since i am a vegetarian i appreciate it when a forbes restesurant ask this. Over all it was excellent experience i wish i could come back for dinner or breakfast to experience other side of session.

Never disappoints

I take my wife every week. This restaurant is nothing short of amazing. The food is pure art. Every dish feels like it was made just for you. Staff is knowledgeable and oh so pleasant!

Delicious drinks & appetizers

By Edward A |

Came here for some drinks & appetizers, had a wonderful time. The place has great views of downtown & delicious specialty cocktails. Daniel was an awesome bartender!
