One of San Antonio's best Mexican restaurants. If you're visiting Ft. Sam Houston you definitely need to visit this establishment for some authentic Mexican food!

Chilaquiles just how I like em with salsa verde and egg over easy..delicious. Variety of breakfast tacos were excellent too. We've been here for dinner and equally delicious.

This is my top 2 places to go for tacos in San Antonio. The breakfast tacos are always delicious and the food comes fast. If you enjoy menudo, they have it on Saturday/Sunday first come basis. A delightful little restaurant.

Excellent authentic Mexican food. Service was great and is a fantastic cozy lunch spot! The quesadillas al pastor was so flavorful. It’s a small restaurant but the cozy space added to the good atmosphere.

We had the huevos rancheros, bean and cheese taco and the carne guisada taco with guacamole. Loved it all! Fresh tortillas and yummy hot sauces. The green sauce is hotter. Fast friendly service. Very reasonable. Will try lunch next time! Enjoy!

Great food great breakfast burritos very friendly staff. Overall a great value for your money. The decor could use some work.

I've never had a bad breakfast taco here, and the decor definitely improved with the last remodeling project. The service has never been particularly friendly, but it's a decent breakfast spot and the prices are reasonable.

In my opinion the best places to get mexican food in san antonio are the small mom and pop joints. stay away from the national chainstore type restaurants. this is definitely one of them.

Great food in a tiny place with seating for 30 or more. 2 people ate for 25$ service was great and the food came out fast!

This is one of those little hole in the wall places that certainly won't catch your eye from the road. My son has been stationed at Fort Sam Houston for the last 4 month and INSISTED that he take us here for tacos and burritos. Apparently this is a local favorite with all the soldiers at Fort Sam. It did not disappoint. Your not going to be impressed with the decor or interior, but I wold certainly go back if going to fort Sam again. The mini tacos and burritos are truly authentic and delicious.

We just opened a small item self storage facility a few doors down from this place. When lunch time came, we needed something nearby to be able to quickly get back to work. I have a high expectation for Mexican cuisine in San Antonio since I’m visiting from Florida. MY GOODNESS this place was amazing!!!! I ordered the refried bean mini-tacos and did the happy dance once I got started on my plate! I recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area. I’m actually heading back there again today!

Having dinner with Paula at El Tio Charro. We started off with ice tea, chips and salsa. The chips were warm and the salsa was spicy with a nice lingering twinge after each bite. We then moved on to the nacho supreme appetizer. The nachos were stuffed full of meat, beans, onions & peppers, and topped with a generous amount of cheese. I had the Rancheros Enchiladas that came with two generous sides of rice and refried beans. There was also a guacamole salad to add a little additional color and taste to the plate. Paula had the chicken fajitas which also came with the same sides. They also brought sour cream, jalapeños, and more guacamole as well as a red and green chili sauce. Everything was excellent and there was more than enough to bring home for lunch tomorrow. Our waitress was very quick and efficient and kept a close eye on our beverage glass and to remove empty plates. To think we had this great meal and all for $30.00 is hard to believe. They have a very easy to read and understand menu that provides all the essential southwestern Tex-Mex that we enjoy. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the Fort Sam Houston area and looking for an authentic Tex-Mex meal which provides excellent taste, generous portions, and a reasonable price.

We got fajitas for two. Came because we were in the area. So so good. We will come back to eat here again.

The breakfast tacos are overfilled pockets of deliciousness!! Fast service, yummy authentic Mexican food, what else can you ask for. Love the diversity of America.

Great cuisine and value for money. The staff are very friendly.Food is delicious and authentic! Love the interiors.Good for snacks and dinner nights!

Excellent authentic Mexican cuisine. Highly recommend! The carne asada tacos are delicious. Tortillas are made fresh as well as the salsa.

What can I say about this dirty little hole in the wall ? the food was infreakingcreible !! .... I love Mexican food.. this place kicks it up a notch and the prices are way way low... love love loved the food here.

This is one of those little "hole-in-the-wall" mexican places that seem to be everywhere in San Antonio. The problem is you never know if the food is going to be good or bad in one of these places...but let me tell you, the food is wonderful here! Very tasty Tex-Mex with large portions...and the Carne Asada tacos are out of this world!

We took a shot at this place because of the reviews and it worked out great! Very personable staff and better than average Mexican food! Fast service and good food. Chili Relano, Enchiladas, rice and beans all good!

The order was a variety of Breakfast Tacos totaling a dozen...All were great!!! Coffee for three and OJ for two...for $25 the family of 4 was fed very well....HEALTHY EATS!!!

We chose this spot because it had the highest reviews. Maybe I was expecting too much, but it was just all right. The food was a little bland for my taste, but I live in Central TEXAS and was raised on Tex-Mex. It was like a whole lot of Taquieras all over this part of the world.

This is my go to spot in san antonio. A lot of food and small price. Packed at lunch. Never a bad meal.

If you want something authentic, flavorful with a very friendly ambiance this is the place. Service with a smile. Everything in the menu is great. Try the mini tacos with Charro beans or Gringas or Chori-Pollo or tacos al pastor. Many choices that would make you to come back and try something new. Not to forget: Great breakfast choices too.

We are visiting San Antonio and everyone has told us that it's the best city for authentic Mexican food. Everyone has given us names of places on the Riverwalk but we're not heading there till Friday when it gets warmer! It seems as if there's a Tex-Mex restaurant on every block, so how does one choose...check out Trip Advisor, of course! We Americans are brutally honest when it comes to grading restaurants, aren't we? Well, this is the one we selected first and I know we'll return often in the several weeks we are here! It's a clean and tidy place painted in vibrant colors, with sparking clean terra cotta tiled floors, and decorated with a Mexican-motif. We were greeted by a very sweet young woman who was also our very efficient waitress. As soon as we sat down she delivered a complimentary basket of homemade taco chips and a bottle of homemade salsa to pour into dipping bowls. The salsa had the right blend of spices and fresh tomatoes and a nice kick! When we ate all the chips, she brought another replacement basket! The establishment doesn't serve alcohol, so instead of Margaritas, we had unsweetened ice tea which was served in the biggest glasses I've ever seen! We ordered loaded nachos as an appetizer which was huge and delicious! My husband had the enchiladas rancheros served on a giant sized platter. He said it was scrumptious! I had chicken fajitas which was served with spicy rice and refried beans. There must have been two whole chicken breasts and two entire peppers on the platter. Needless to say, we brought lots of leftovers back to our RV to have for another meal. Keep in mind all we had ordered and the bill, with tax, was JUST $30! Incredible food, prices and service! We'll visit often while we're here in San Antonio!

This was an awesome authentic spot! Got the 3 taco plate with pastor. Delicious! Service was fast and food was hot and tasty!! Would go back for lunch again!

I stopped at this place at least 3-4 times a week over an 8 week period for lunch and it was consistently excellent every visit. The food was always flavorful, hot and quickly served. I'm super picky with Mexican food and this is some of the best that I have had and cannot wait to get back to San Antonio for more. All the servers are super friendly and prompt. Highly recommend.

We were passing through San Antonio and decided to stop for dinner at this restaurant. Service was very good. We had the enchiladas. They were delicious. I really liked their refried beans. Only downside is that they don’t serve alcohol.

We've visited my son several times and this is probably the best dinner I've had! Everything was delicious..chimichanga... enchilada with VERDE sauce yum..steak..tacos..ALL good! Churros we're good too with a filling inside. Can't wait to try breakfast sometime!

I had the chicken enchiladas verdes for lunch with beans and rice. The brought extra corn tortillas for me which I am not used to...I had tortillas on my enchiladas right? But I tell you these tortillas on their own were so amazing! Lunch was cheap too, I would definitely recommend it!

We live a couple of blocks from here and there breakfast is wonderful and very well priced. This is a true Mexican Restaurant...breakfast tacos, make fresh... Breakfast is their best meal, lunch and dinner are good... Great value for the money, you can get two eggs, bacon, two pancakes and coffee for six bucks. Great service, limited seating
Pretty Good for Not Much Outside
Pretty good flavors, good service, lot of food for the price. My sense was all was homemade in this hole in the wall place. We’d go back. Breakfast and lunch only.
