If possible, go a little before sunset - on a clear day. The sunset view of Mount Hood is AMAZING!!! The food was excellent, dessert - excellent, coffee - excellent!!! Yes, a table of four is a couple hundred dollars easy, but nobody says you have to eat there every day! Our waiter was experienced, made several substitutions to one of our orders upon request, and was always available without "hovering". Great job!

Everyone knows about the fabulous view, great food and attentive service. Surprised to see that for Anniversary celebrations they will print up a personalized message of recognition on the menu! That was a special touch! Loved the dramatic presentation of the shrimp cocktail on the starters menu...someone in your party should order it just for fun! Of course, if your not looking for a full dinner menu, the happy hour menu, downstairs in the lounge can’t be beat! Same view, money saving prices. Love this place!

We come here for special occasions and an annual lunch of co-workers. Very good food, excellent service and one of the best views in Portland. Views are of Willamette River far below and the whole southeast Portland. Parking is valet but quick.

We went here for my birthday dinner and got here early to sit in the bar before our dinner reservations. Our experience in the bar is the only reason I gave this place 2 stars. The bar service was very good and the apps were decent then it went down hill from there. When we got to the dining room they gave us a table at the window but it was dark so you really couldn’t see anything. Ordered a Caesar salad to split and the lettuce didn’t seem very fresh cause well it was on the verge of being wilted and the anchovies in the dressing we’re too over powering for me so I could not eat it. Husband ordered prime rib (smallest portion) end cut and it had a lot of fat. Here is where it gets bad: ordered a lobster tail on the side and it was raw, as in not cooked and get this, when I told the waitress she said some people order it that way, we’ll not us cause when we order meat at an upscale restaurant we expect it to be cooked and expect that the restaurant also knows how to cook it? While my fish was ok I still can not over look the flaws here. Waitress took the lobster tail off the bill which she should have done and we were outta there which we kinda felt was the intention of the waitress anyway as she did not offer anything for my birthday, not even a scoop of ice cream with a candle in it. We will not return, happy birthday to me.

My husband knows that C.H. is one of my favorite restaurants because of the chopped salad and seafood, and we came here again for my birthday recently. Husband had the "mahi mahi mac nut crusted fish" and I had the chopped salad as well as the "coconut crunch shrimp". We loved the bread served with the meals as well as the entrees. Everything was quite good. The only drawback was that I felt the chopped salad was a bit less in quantity, and some of the ingredients in the salad seemed a little different from what I've had in the past. Our server, Tim, was excellent and attended well to our needs during dinner. We chose to leave him well over the usual tip because he had done such a good job for us! They honored our request of a window table, and the view of the lit city below was pretty nice!

If you are staying in Portland and you have free night, do not miss this place. The food is great and the view is spectacular.

We chose Chart House as the venue for our 60th anniversary. The dinner was delicious, the view beautiful, and the staff friendly and attentive. Shout out to our wonderful waitress Jolene for her outstanding service. We highly recommend this restaurant for special occasions!

Pros: Waiter was awesome. View Cons: Took over 30 minutes to get a drink. Carpet was dirty, needed a good vacuuming, especially the stairs. Clam chowder was lukewarm as was the prime rib Mahi was tough, overcooked? For a high end restaurant, did not live up to expectations

Chart House is my go-to restaurant for the delicious chopped salad I can only find there! It is always SO good, and I enjoy it immensely. For me, the entrees are merely side dishes!! But our fish entrees were good that night and we enjoyed everything we ordered.

We were seated immediately upon entering at a window side table. All three of us ordered different meals and all were perfect. We were in and out in less then an hour which was just what we wanted on a Monday night.

First time here and I was pleasantly impressed. The location with the view it offer is relaxing. Great services. The gentleman taking care of our table Jeremy had a great knowledge of the menus and his advise were right on the spot. The waiting for the food is better than expected. The quality and size of the dishes right on point. Great view, great atmosphere, friendly services, good seafood, Descent prices, can't hardly ask for more. Plus it was a lucky day to have clear sunny sky with unlimited visibility. When you can see clearly both mounts. Hellen and Hood, from your table, hard to beat. Hardly recommend when in Portland.

If it weren't for the fact we were there to celebrate my in-law's anniversary I would have had my dinner replaced. The one single special the waiter told us about was a "blackened sea bass" with "Baja Shrimp and avocado corn salsa", which came with "garlic potatoes" and asparagus. The sea bass came - completely white with two sides showing some brown from the saute pan. Blackened cajun spices?!? NONE. Nor was there much of any flavor in the dish, including the raw asparagus and dense smashed potatoes with NO discernable garlic. I checked with my wife afterwards, and the completely agreed about the asparagus and potatoes (I had also ordered a side of asparagus for the table). As a chef for most of my 20 years in kitchens, I was blown away they also left the entire stalks - no trimming of the solid stringy and impossible to chew half of the asparagus. Seriously blown away, but thankful to know I will never, ever eat there again. I will cook my own cajun blackened fish next time.

Frankly this spot was chosen because it was closest to where we picked up a friend and the view is sensational. Damned if the food didn’t turn out To be fabulous and Significantly exceeded our expectations and matched the sensational views. The Thai shrimp and the halibut with the Rockefeller topping are not to be missed.

The Chart House serves a wide variety of meals from breakfast to dinner. Our recent breakfast was outstanding and the clear view of Portland was inspiring.

I took a colleague there for her birthday and requested a window table. As we arrived early enough that was available and on the table was a birthday card signed by all the staff. We had a lovely lunch and our server (JP) was great,,,he answered all my questions and his suggestions were well received. Again, unexpectedly he brought a beautiful piece of ice cream cake with a candle for dessert.

Food and service were great. This review gets a 1 star due to the fact that valet broke our tail light and will not replace. We have emailed, called, left voicemails and contacted them on social media. The tail light is over $400 that was broken by their mandatory valet parking. Corporate has done nothing and does not seem to care at all. This was a family night with a tab over $3k. Will not be spending another dime at any of Landry's restaurants.

My brother rented out part of this place for his son's graduation party. Our party was seated downstairs in a very spacious and beautiful setting. The view of Portland and the Willamette River were outstanding! The hosts and wait staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They attended to us throughout the night and were prompt. There is a free valet service (which is good because parking is tight at this place), and they were friendly. The food was appealing and tasted great. There is a full bar and the drinks were delicious. Everything about this place is great. It's a little out of the way, but that just adds to the overall positive experience of eating here. Might be a little spendy, but worth it.

For at least the last 50 years, including its previous incarnation as The Hillvilla, this restaurant has been a go-to place for special events or for evening cocktails. The view, overlooking Portland, is superb and the service and food continue to be top-notch.

My daughter booked this restaurant for dinner to celebrate her graduation from university. Both she and my wife ordered the lobster and it was spoiled. Completely inedible. The restaurant took it back, but dinner was ruined. This just can't happen at a high end seafood restaurant. Great location looking out over the city, but the food is not the quality that we expected, especially for the price. Stay away.

We went to celebrate our anniversary. Couldn’t think of a better place! Prime rib was delicious and of course, fabulous view. It feels like an old school restaurant with nice service and overall ambience.

Went for a celebration birthday dinner, all was good until we left..... and valet parking guy shut my finger in the car door. I realize that was an accident, what I did not like was I wrote to management and in hopes of letting Valet people know they need to be more careful. You would think I would get a I am sorry back. NOTHING Seriously???? I will never return

Met two friends here for Easter brunch; first visit. Were seated downstairs; view was one set of tables back from the window but still pleasant. Service was warm and professional. Beverages were good but eggs Benedict & French toast; not. My eggs arrived nearly cold while my girlfriend's French toast wasn't cooked underneath. The waitress took both dishes; my new plate was fine though the sauce was very bland. Unfortunately, the 2nd plate of French toast still wasn't thoroughly cooked and she couldn't eat either plate of sausages as both weren't cooked thru. The music was also fairly loud rock 'n roll; not conducive to quiet conversation or a relaxing time. We did sample their house made ice cream; very tasty and my husband enjoyed his cheesecake though the taste i sampled wasn't anything special. Perhaps it's better there when it's not a busy holiday. But for a first visit, we weren't too impressed.

The halibut, chopped salad, and lobster bisque were excellent. The seafood and mango stack always delights. The rice was a bit bland, and the veggies a bit too al dente for me.

We came to Chart House to celebrate our anniversary, and had good service as well as good food. We would have liked to have gotten seated by a window, but we could still see the view from the table where we ended up. Our young server was GREAT!! She was attentive, kind, helpful, and friendly. She also, upon learning it was our 41st anniversary, brought us a complementary dessert!! NICE!! I got my regular shrimp trio platter, and enjoyed them a lot. Husband got the Mahi Mahi mac nut crusted fish platter which was also very good (I got a taste!!) It wasn't a cheap meal, but everything was nicely prepared, and we got out desired bread refills when we wanted them to sop up the juices from the shrimp and fish. I'll put in a plug for the "chopped salad" also, as it is the one thing I make sure to order each time we go to Chart House. It has a great dressing and is just SO delicious to start an evening meal out with!

We went the day before Valentine's to celebrate 42 years. Special time I thought. But Noooo! They closed the entire bar and had no provision for waiting dinner customers. Apparently money is more important than people. No place for us and no restroom either! They are arrogant and we felt like an afterthought. The food was delicious, but the attitude was very poor. We will never go back.

$100 birthday lunch was okay. When we got home, I realized I'd left my cell phone at the restaurant. Upon returning, the young man who claimed to be the General Manager was no help at all. He refused to show me the 2 cell phones he'd collected so far that day! I was given a business card for the catering manager (?). He stated that it was 'corporate policy' not to show customers missing cell phones. (?) Hmm, as an ex-corporate manager myself, I found this to be ludicrous as well as insulting. Now I have to get a new phone and phone number. 'Manager' did not know how to handle a valuable repeat customer. He was more impressed with his own perceived importance than helping me. He not only looked like a fool, he lost us as customers. I went away angry, never to return.

Our salmon with rice was literally swimming in soya sauce. Lobster soup had some sort of weird smell, I wish I had ordered clam chowder. Lobster tail was also very salty, we couldn’t finished it. Calamari was good but salty. Lava cake took sometime to come but it was worth waiting, it was fresh and tasted very good. The server was very nice. We didn’t get window table so no views either.

The view is amazing! One of the best! Unfortunately nothing after this was memorable in the slightest. Our friends had already arrived and were seated in a nice window seat. The sky was mixture of sunny and rainy from left to right. I was excited that this show by mother nature must mean the meal was going to be great. We place our orders including special dessert which needed extra time to prepare. The side-show shrimp cocktail was fine although the volcano steam, which was via dry ice, was unnecessary for five shrimp. I didn't know what was missing from a later dish was provided with this Mount St. Helen's spectacle! From the start the salads were mixed up. The special Caesar was ordered and a normal one was brought out. Once replaced with the correct one this one had leaves that were brown and salad was overdressed. For my salad, "CRIMSON + GOLDEN" for which I thought "What a great name it has to be delicious..." was definitely not. Tired "Questionably" roasted beets fig vinaigrette goat cheese fritters + almond brittle was a dry mess of limited quality. Just plain sad. Granted our hosts were staying on the light side however after a full day of sights around Portland and having a lot of seafood in our travels I was in the mood for some prime rib. When asked how I would like it I said rare. When it came out it was indeed rare, just dry as a bone with the potatoes the same. When you serve Prime Rib it is cut off a hot steaming roast with all of the wonderful juices pouring out. Not a piece of meat which just returned from a long day at Waikiki beach. The au jus helped a little however after one third through I just had enough. Doggie bag time. Unfortunately our doggie was home as we are on vacation. My wife had the HALIBUT DEL MAR, an over salted unremarkable presentation with the same dry mashed potatoes as above, again sad. By this time I'm ready to leave. We asked for boxes for both and our waitress said, and I'm not kidding "Ok to put both of our leftovers in the same box???" Uh NO! By this time I'm ready to pack it in. Our waitress said "would you like to order dessert?..." and for a fleeting moment I thought we could just be done with it. Unfortunately after a pregnant pause she continued, "Other then your Lava Cake". Our hosts ordered sorbet. Out comes the Lava Cake. A beautiful looking creation with a perfect half scoop of ice cream on top. Perhaps part of this meal would be saved. Alas it was not meant to be. Remember when I mentioned the volcano with the shrimp? How is it possible to make a lava cake with no LAVA??? I kept cutting into it and it was dry as a bone! HEY no LAVA means it's called a brownie! In this great foodie town this is just sad. Order a cocktail, walk up to the window, look at the view and save yourself two hundred dollars.

Above average food is complemented by stellar view and excellent staff / service. The view of the Willamette river and valley with Mt. Hood and Mt. St. Hellens and southern Portland is unmatched. Food is never bad, usually good, sometimes excellent. The view comes with a cost, literally in the bill, and figuratively in the sense that the location on Terriwilliger drive is a bit remote. A beautiful windy rode up in the hills of SW Portland, there is NO WHERE to park (~all must valet) and you are a bit removed from most things.

The Chart House in Portland has some interesting and pleasant features that brought this visit up a notch in my book. All tables have a stunning view above the city and river. Multiple tasting flights for wine, scotch, bourbon and creme brûlée are some of the menu options that were available. Valet parking is the standard which is somewhat rare in PDX. I had the Spinach Salad which was one of the best I’ve had-rich-but to my liking. Family loved it. They are all appealing to return soon

We went to Chart House for dinner and finished a celebration of our anniversary there. We both thought our meals were excellent and noticed that we got a very nice signed anniversary card from CH as well as had a reserved table with a "VIP" card on it. Both our entrees of swordfish and salmon were excellent and were both nicely prepared and served. We quickly figured out that our server was "just not that into us" after I said yes to pepper on my salad, and she did a very light dusting, and I asked for more which she slightly dusted over it even as she was looking away at other people, and I was saying, "a bit more please", but didn't get more as she left without another word. The service occasionally also felt a bit robotic, like her attention wasn't really on us when she refilled our water or even asked how our meals were as it seemed like she was distracted much of the time and turned away before we could barely get our answers out. But our meals more than made up for any flaws in service!

My daughter and son-in-law took me to The Chart House on my last night visiting. I had the Lobster Bisque before my entree and it was the best I have ever had. The rest of the dinner was also good. The server we had was very friendly and attentive. I would say that the view would have been a little better had the windows not been so dirty. Just a personal pet peeve. I would definitely recommend this Chart House for a great dinner experience.

Chart house is consistent. This one is as well. the coffee is good, the meat is good and as for the brunch, stick with the traditional items. I went for the crab and avocado salad. It was ok, but really in the northwest, and especially in a chart house, i expected better. The crab was tasteless. That being said, one friend had the French dip. It was good. Another had the eggs Benedict. Also a good choice. the beautiful view is always the best bet when it comes to this restaurant chain. Unique, expansive views and consistent food.

My wife had eaten at another chart house restaurant in Redondo Beach, California .for her birthday we found out there was a chart house here in Portland. The views were amazing. Service was top-notch. the menu was large and varied. for dinner, I had the blackened Mahi which was the best seafood I have had for a very long time. My wife had the Sea Bass which was also great. complimentary valet parking was a nice surprise. Come early as it fills up pretty quick

Outstanding views from our table of the greater Eastern Portland area from Mt St Helens to Mt Hood and the Willamette river. Everyone commented that the food was delicious: king salmon, salmon topped with Dungeness crab, the Whaler sandwich, the avocado and bacon burger, & the coconut crusted shrimp. The hits were the shrimp, avocado and mango stack, the lava cakes, and the special tea drinks. You would expect this restaurant to be a more expensive than others but both the dinner and lunch menus had some combinations at reasonable prices. However, I was somewhat disappointed that the service was extremely slow and our waitress could have been more attentive.

Excelente!! The food was amazing the service was excellent. Highly recommend. It’s my second time and the experience has been the same.

View and service were excellent. Lunch prices were very reasonable and I would recommend coming for lunch. The dinner prices are likely a bit high considering how good other restaurant's food is at similar or slightly lower prices points. It's a unique spot and definitely worth a visit.

We had a reservation, and ended up waiting about 15-20 min for our table past our reservation time. We were seated in a back room that had a party, so it was quite loud. The service was attentive, and the food was very good.

We have visited the Portland Chart House several times, and enjoy the view and the convenience of valet parking for one of the couples. admittedly, we have mostly come for happy hour, which is not the best way to sample the kitchen. that said, the choice of happy hour wines and beers is really inadequate, and the well spirits utterly unidentifiable and not particularly good. full dinner may be a different story, for which we reserve judgment. the menu offered only one non-meat item: fried artichokes, which were 90% fried and 10% artichoke. regarding both the food and drink, i would happily pay a dollar more per item for a better choice. the server was properly attentive, and the setting is great. overall, it felt like going out with a good looking but not particularly bright date.

My sister was visiting from Texas, had never been to the PNW, so I knew I had to take her to Chart House her first night here. Unfortunately, Mt. Hood was not visible, but we had a window seat and we could see the snow on the lower ridges of the Cascades, and it was beautiful. Our server, J.P, I believe, was wonderful, perfectly attentive and helpful and on top of everything with great timing. The Shrimp, Crab, Avocado & Mango Stack was so good there are no words. There was a little bit left on the plate, and J.P. offered to take the plate away, and my sister just said looked him in the eye and shook her head, "no no no, eating every last bite even though I'm full." She said her swordfish was the best she had ever had. My ahi with the Cabell topping was fantastic. It was just a perfect meal. Thank you.

I love taking my grandchildren here for their 18th birthday. The food is amazing staff is attentive and the view is fabulous. It is pricey but I do suggest everyone To come here at least once.

The food was just good, the service was excellent and the views were spectacular. This the first time I’ve been there in for lunch. Disappointed in the narrow menu selection. Lump crab Louie’s for lunch; Dungeness Louie’s for dinner. Why?

Went here on my birthday for early dinner, a treat from my daughter. The valet guy was cordial. We were seated by the window with a nice view of the Willamette River and mountains. Our waiter Jeremy was nice, friendly, efficient and very attentive. We started with Coconut Shrimp and Calamari for appetizers. Had Lobster and Filet Mignon for entrees. The clam chowder was good too. After the meals, Jeremy also brought a dessert with a candle on top as birthday treat. Everything went so well. We had a wonderful time.

If you are looking for a spectacular setting for a dining experience The Chart House is perfect. We had 6:30 dinner reservations to celebrate two birthdays. I indulged and ordered my favorite king crab legs. I was surprised the shells had not been slit making it almost impossible to extract the succulent crab. It was literally a painful experience because king crab shells feature sharp spikes. No waiter attended to my need. The plate also featured a baked potato. It must have been left over from lunch or last night's dinner and reheated because the lovely fluffy texture from a freshly baked potato simply wasn't there. This was a $56.00 entree, market price. One of my friends ordered the Prime Rib and enjoyed it tremendously. I was shocked at how much of our dinner was not enjoyed and taken away. The humus appetizer didn't appeal to anyone, the key lime pie was untouched because of the strange texture and the trio brulle' featured a chocolate espresso flavor no one would eat. Gosh, It dismays me to have to write such a critical review for such a beautiful restaurant but the prices compare to Ringside in Portland and there is no comparison to the food quality. That said, the view is spectacular.

We were very happy to see the amazing view of Mt St Helens and Mt Hood beyond the Willamette River while enjoying our drinks, conversation, and delicious dinner. Our server, Rachel, was awesome and we really had a great dinner. Next time, we will order the Lava Cake for desert! We will also book a spot downstairs for Happy Hour. What a great spot 👍

The overall dining experience was phenomenal. Minus points for the ok oysters...no flavor. The rest of the meal made up for that deficit. All staff where fantastic. Valet was Quick and Personable. Our server, Grace, was Quick, Attentive, and a Pure Delight. We set expectations, as it was a special day for us, to which she exceeded. Also LOVED the NY Strip, Filet Mignon, Lobster Bisque, Chopped Salad, Crème Brûlée Tasting (Classic, Espresso, Chocolate), and Key Lime Pie (Yeah...doubled down on desert)..accompanied by a very good Treana Cab (Paso Robles) and an amazing cocktail, Fizz & Bergamot, which was pure magic...Tart and Sweet at the same time...so well balanced. Serious points to the mixologist. The flavors were off the chart (sans oysters). I don't care for Key Lime.. .this converted me. The Chopped Salad was super savory...and Lobster Bisque OMG!..and the VIEW!! Will definitely do this again.

My wife and I first went to the Chart House in 1962 before it was part of what is now the Chart House chain. It was classy then and is still classy It has been exceedingly well-maintained and refurbished. The three things that haven't changed are the excellent food, appropriately attentive service and the view over south Portland. Although we had both been there for lunch a couple times, this was the first dinner since the first time. It was just as good. We were there in part to see what their March 3-course special was. One of the items on that menu was duck and that's what my wife wanted. We both had salads. Her duck came with a lot of dressing which she normally doesn't eat much of but she ate it all and it was no small portion. My main dish off the regular menu was a whole Dungeness crab. She had chosen the crème boule for dessert and it was exceptionally well presented. She wouldn't share so I finished my second glass of wine for dessert. Lovely evening.

We made a reservation weeks in advance to be sure to get a good table. The valet met us at the door and whisked away our car while we entered and were seated immediately at a table with a wonderful river/city/mountain view. The parties on our right and left were attentively served and we waited, without even water, for 15 minutes before my sweetie went over and stopped a server. She explained that our server had been called away by the manager but that she would take care of us. She opened the wine which we had brought with us ($20.00 corkage), poured water and brought a bread basked. When finally served, our meals were delicious (Ahi and prime rib) and we were provided with take home boxes for our leftovers and the personalized menu rolled up tied with a ribbon. I was surprised that there was no complementary dessert recognizing the 80th birthday occasion. Whie we enjoyed our meal, the view and the valet parking, the inattention before we intervened left a bitter taste in our mouths.

We went to Chart House for my birthday in November. I looked at several other possibilities, but CH won out because of their seafood choices and the chopped salad which I really like. I got the crunchy coated shrimp and my husband had one of their special fish selections for that evening. We thought both entrees were quite good and perhaps even better than when we were here earlier in the year. Our server was attentive and gracious. Good night out for a birthday!

Jamie was just who we needed last night. Her recommendations for wine were spot-on, and her attention to our needs, while still being unobtrusive, is a talent. Our dinners were perfectly prepared and while this is a long drive from Seattle, it’s always worth a stop. I took advantage of the $20 bonus card for each $100 gift card purchase, which is offered during the holidays. Getting 5% back is great.

We went to the Chart House for our anniversary, and had very disappointing meals. The king crab legs arrived cold, and the baked potato was only partially baked. The waiter took it back and the crab legs were returned barely warm, and the baked potato was slightly more baked. So my husband and I did not get to eat our meals at the same time. My husband had grilled fish with vegetables and rice. His meal was very dry and bland—you could make a much better meal yourself. So the food and experience were a big disappointment. They comped one of the meals, but that did not improve the bad experience or make the food any better.

This is a great spot for lunch, Happy Hour, and/or dinner. Good menus, good service, and reasonable prices - along with a great view on clear days.

Seems like every table has a great view. The food and the service were excellent. Nice size portions prepared very well.

We arrived for a late lunch. The small parking lot was nearly full and the complimentary valet parking was not in operation. We were delighted with the view and decor as we waited for our reserved table to be ready. The view of the river and city is wonderful. Our server was upbeat and talkative, but took a little time to get seven waters to the table. He touted an IPA that we ordered, only to discover that it wasn't available. We enjoyed the coconut butterfly shrimp for a starter. For entrees we ordered multiples of the garden salad with shrimp, the fish and chips, and the prime rib sandwich. Surprisingly, the kitchen was out of potato fries, so sweet potato fries were substituted. The server offered fingerling potatoes or mashed. We enjoyed the entrees.

I have to admit that one of the best salads I have ever enjoyed is the delicious chopped salad at Chart House, and I like it well enough that if they stopped offering it, I might have to eat elsewhere! My husband knows that this a favorite restaurant to eat at for my birthday, and even my niece in California mentioned that it's my go-to for our special times of celebration! We had as delicious of a meal Thursday evening on my birthday as at our past visits, and what made it even more fun this time was our server, Peter! He did a great job of making us feel welcome and valued! AND he did such a good job at bringing us hot bread, and anything else we wanted for our meals. Even packed up some sauces for my leftover crispy coconut shrimp! Chart House IS a little more "spendy" than are some of the other places in Portland, but the food quality and quantity is quite excellent!

John and I celebrated his birthday at the Chart House last week! We were seated at a beautiful table right on the window! Spectacular views of Portland and the mountains! Our menus were personalized for John's birthday, which was a lovely detail! Our waiter PJ was superb and very knowledgeable. We started our dinner with Lobster Bisque, a CH specialty, and did not disappoint. I had the sea Bass which was delicious, served with rice and perfectly blanched vegetables. John had black and bleu Swordfish! Also wonderful! Our wine complimented the fish perfectly! And CH presented John with a celebratory dessert to top everything off! Well done, Chart House! We will return!!

This restaurant is located at the top of a hill overlooking the river and downtown Portland. It is about a 10 minute drive from downtown and there is free valet parking. We were seated at our reservation time in a window overlooking the remarkable view. We ordered the lobster bisque (had chunks of lobster in it), the grilled halibut and shrimp and scallop meals. The Shrimp and Scallops were the star of the show. Very well prepared. The bread and drinks were excellent as well. If you haven't been here, you should give it a try for a special occasion. Just beautiful.

Great view, but not food. We went for a celebration dinner. Despite mixed reviews.. we were in the locale and decided to give them chance .. big mistake. kim chi calamari which was good .. but I don’t get the kim chi part .. didn’t taste any. Crispy shrimp were good and the Caesar and spinach salad were ok. Lobster bisque was way too salty. With all the micro brews in Portland.. why not a great beer selection? Settled for a can of Guinness. Non alcoholic and alcoholic mojitos were good. Now for the main problem, we ordered the king salmon .. clearly it wasn’t… we all tasted it .. they took it away and removed it from the bill. It was maybe farm raised Atlantic.. very fatty. The swordfish was worse .. it was mush and should have been firm .. I don’t think it was actually swordfish, the texture wasn’t correct, maybe butterfish .. I’m not sure where they get their fish .. but good seafood is readily available in the Portland area.. or at a minimum order from Ocean Beauty or Pacific Seafood. Possibly the food vendor is creating them. Mashed potatoes were gummy and not good. Asian green beans were over cooked and sizzling mushrooms were old ( brown stems) mud pie was average. The waiter was excellent..trying to deal with slow service and was very nice.. Dinner took over 2 hours. Rugs were filthy and should be replaced. Don’t eat downstairs.. restroom aroma. Valet parking was a strange twist. Needless to say we will not eat there again unless future reviews endorse them; but if you go .. have drinks and appetizers only., enjoy the view and then have dinner at One of the many excellent restaurants nearby. Check out the ratings at this site .. there are over 100 better!

From the moment we walked in the service was friendly and superior. Celebrated a friend’s birthday while admiring the view and watching Bald Eagles soar in front of us. Our lunches were the Crab Louis, Grilled Mahi and Fish & Chips. All three were prepared / cooked to perfection. The Lobster bisque and Lava cake were delicious! Wonderful service from Kelly and delicious food with a stupendous view shared with good friend! Fabulous restaurant!!

We asked our friend to recommend one of her favorite dining spots in Portland. Since she knew that were not residents, she recommended a spot with a great view of Portland city and the Willamette River! We pulled up to Chart House. The goodness started there. I quickly discovered Chart House was listed as a member restaurant with Landry's frequent diner's club. That was a win - preferential seating, points toward free meal certificates and other perks. What a nice surprise. The of OHSU and the walking bridge was spectacular, as were the nearby Mt Hood and Washington's Mt St Helen. Kathryn was our efficient, accommodating, and friendly server. Alcohol selections were reasonably priced. Our mimosas were particularly tasty and champagne-forward. I ordered the thick, rich, creamy clam chowder. Though I ordered only 1/2 sandwich, it came large size, served on not one, but TWO separate skewers! We finished with a shared, tall chocolate lava cake. My companion declared it, "The BEST I ever had!". Truly, it was excellent and went well with the strong, hot, fresh coffee. This place is a gem!

I've been to this location twice, both times for birthday celebrations in December. Beautiful view of the city and river! Very nice ambience. Both times I had fish with the macadamia nut/mango salsa, and it was good. Drinks were good. Mud Pie was delicious. And, since my sister was a VIP member, they make a special occasion even more memorable by printing "Happy Birthday to....." along the tops of everyone's menu at the table, along with "VIP" tags reserving our table. A very nice, relaxing, and enjoyable evening out.

We got there early for dinner and got to enjoy the fantastic view observing the city in the daylight, the distant mountains with snowcaps, a rain storm that produced a rainbow. We shared several items for dinner. The Spinach Salad was delicious with a warm bacon dressing. The dinner rolls were hot out of the oven, with a choice of both dark bread and white. The grilled King Salmon was very tender with great flavor. The desert included the Crème Brule sampler with three flavors: café, caramel and vanilla, and it was luscious. Our waiter was very attentive and helped us with many questions. The valet parking is free and is required on the weekend due to heavy customer traffic, and they did a fine job with my new car, and I chose to tip them. This is an upscale restaurant and the prices reflect that, but it was worth it with the quality of service and the food and view. The attached photos show one-half of the salad and salmon, which we found adequate, allowing us to keep the price more reasonable.

Outstanding view, get there early for best table. Lava cake is amazing. Three course dinner option was very good and priced well.

We haven't eaten at the Chart House for quite awhile because it is expensive but my sister-in-law, who with my brother from Atlanta, wanted to eat there because of the lovely view. She treated us all to the meal. When I made the reservation I hoped we would be able to get a table beside a window. When we walked in we were enchanted by the lovely white and silver holiday tree and many strings of white lights. Very festive. We were immediately shown to a table and yes! it was beside a window! Fortunately it was not raining or foggy so we had a lovely view of night-time Portland. Our waitress was absolutely wonderful. We ordered some wine and enjoyed that while waiting for our food. Three of us had the prime rib which is always delicious. My sister ordered a seafood dish which looked very tempting. The Key Lime pie wasn't as "limey" as I like and too much cream topping but still very tasty. A most pleasant evening altogether. And we took some prime rib home for our Siberian Huskies to enjoy which they definitely did. We will be back..

My husband used to live in Portland and wanted to take us here on a recent family trip, The food was amazing, the service was great and the views are awesome.

Birthday dinner and first time at this location. 6:45 resv. Ordered Coconut Prawns appetizer to share and each ordered Filet Mignon, sautéed mushrooms, wine. Prawns and 'shrooms were good, steaks were cooked perfectly (Med rare and Med well) Nice view of river but no mountains to be seen because of wildfire smoke (we had changed resv from a well known high rise restaurant because of the smoke). We liked that it felt like you were sitting in the trees (esp in the bar). HOWEVER...and this is a big drawback, because of the open kitchen, the place was unbelievably noisy!! Everyone is talking loudly above the kitchen din. By the time our steaks arrived we had given up trying to talk. Even the waitress said she always feels like she is yelling at people. NOT the special occasion atmosphere we were hoping for. Would suggest that you eat in the bar, seems it was much quieter down there after Happy Hour was over. Should we ever attempt it again, that's what we would do.

We went again to Chart House for my birthday yesterday, but when my husband made the reservation on-line, there was no place to state it was for a special occasion, so nothing special from the staff was ever done for the evening out like some have mentioned in their reviews. I had the coconut shrimp and husband had Mahi with a fruit salsa topping, a dish that also came with rice and a light peanut sauce which he said was excellent. We both had the chopped salad which is just about my favorite salad anywhere, and last year I told the server that if they stopped having it on the menu, that would be when I failed to return! Our server was delightful and came by often to check on us. We enjoyed our meals and thought our server did well!

My wife and I were coming here for our 10th anniversary. We booked a month in advance to get a window seat. We arrived early and spent time in their bar which was packed. The waitress found us a spot to enjoy a few cocktails until the party who reserved the are came in. About an hour later we were told that we would have to give up our spot, which was fine and we went upstairs to wait for our table. About 15 minutes later a young lady came to seat us. This was the start to our bad experience. This young lady was not polite, friendly or could care less about us. We were seated not at a window seat, but next to the window seats and the kitchen. One of the worst seats in the restaurant. Soon after our waitress stopped by and once again not friendly at all. Soon after other wait staff started to lay trays next to us to clean plates to the window seat patrons. I mean right next to us that I almost but my elbow in a plate. I told our waitress this is unacceptable, shw told one waiter who stopped, but others continued. I asked my wife if she wanted to leave, but it was late in the evening and felt we didn't have any choice. Our food came, and it was just OK, nothing special. They did through in a free dessert. Which we didn't eat. So to wrap this up. Service one of the worst experiences I ever had. Cost $150.00 (2 dinners 4 drinks) Value - not worth it all. Atmosphere - Terrible.

Enjoyed a wonderful evening at the Chart House last night, for a birthday celebration. Food and service were great. My filet was cooked perfectly, and the oysters were fresh! We also enjoyed the view!

Their Bloody Mary is one of the best I've had. The Lobster bisque is also top notch. The rest of our meals were delicious and well prepared. They were able to accommodate my wife's gluten intolerance, too. And the view is a panorama overlooking the Willamette River.

Went for lunch with co-workers, unfortunately it was rather overcast and did not have the best views but the food was great. Service was good. Prices were more reasonable than I thought. We bought one dessert to share and the waiter made it sound like it was huge - the lava cake- it was actually a lot smaller than he showed with his hands so sharing was rather sparse. Three of us had the salmon and we liked it. One had a french dip that he said was great, one had a fabulous looking hamburger that was huge. I will go back.

We have gone here at least once a year for the past 15 years. The view is the reason you come here; if you visit on a clear day, you can see both Mt Hood and Mt St Helens if you sit by the window on the long side. Good selection of fresh fish and steaks. Desserts are not to be missed. Waitress rushed us thru this time and brought our starters at different times. Decor could use an update and the windows needed cleaning on the outside.

We enjoyed an early dinner with the spectacular view this restaurant offers! The fresh swordfish was amazing and the Scallops and Shrimp were fantastic! We have always enjoyed the food and drink here. The service is unpredictable. Our female server, a blonde/brunette woman with a ponytail, was in a very bad mood and pushy. The male waiters we have had in the past are usually friendlier. Otherwise, we always enjoy our visit!

This is a good place for a good view. The food is good and the service is adequate. Valet parking is always nice.

We made reservations and was seated right on time. A table with a view, it was a clear night and beautiful. Our waiter was great “JP”. Spent time going over food and wine. We had the Ahi appetizer and it was wonderful! We all had fish and everyone was happy. Ate the lava cake and was a great end, stayed and chatted til almost no one left in the restaurant. I recommend highly.

One of the best meals I've had in my entire life! And I can back that up, being a senior citizen and a foodie. I have had enough experience at both! It was a family celebration that brought us there and we were seated in the lower level in the very corner with a jaw dropping view of the Willamette River as the sun set and the twinkling lights of Portland sparkled over the water. I was with family, but this is one of the better romantic spots anywhere around. We could not stop eating the calamari appetizer. YOU MUST ORDER THIS. The coconut crunchy shrimp was also excellent. I had the sea bass. On the fresh fish selections, you get your choice of 4 different toppings. I chose "Cabell" - Lobster, lump crab, lemon and shallot and my sister-in-law chose "Oscar" - Lobster, lump crab, Bernaise Sauce. Both were outstanding...the kind of food you dream about long after you've finished eating it. We barely had room left for the Hot Chocolate Lava Cake dessert - so the 6 of us split one and it was Perfection. Don't worry, we DID finish it, plate licking and all. Service was impeccable. Our waiter was as good with his suggestions and serving as his sense of humor. It is a special spot where wonderful memories are made. I wouldn't come with children for dinner, necessarily, but would bring them for lunch.

This was recommended by folks as we were walking around. The place is great. Food was wonderful, the staff were very good. The kitchen in the middle on display was a little weird, but not intrusive. We had a specialty drink which was brandy with cherries and cinnamon. THIS WAS GOOD! I would have loved to have sucked the brandy out of the cherries. Definitely worth getting outside the city and trying this place.

This restaurant is very classy with fabulous food, service, and the view cannot be better! Located in Portland’s West Hills, The Chart House has a commanding view of Portland, Mount St. Helens and Mount Hood. The food is superb with many choices from red meats to fishes, fancy green salads, many fabulous desserts including molten lava cake! The presentation is beautiful and the wait staff meets your every need. Whether you’re enjoying a special ocassion or a business lunch, this place is not to be missed.

Such a lovely view, nice bar area, valet parking, and generally decent service, but the food SUCKS! I will never understand how they can take fresh fish and ruin it, but they manage to. Our dinners were so greasy and full of congealed butter that they were basically inedible. Absolutely disgusting - when we got home, we both threw up. Just avoid this place - there are so many better options in Portland for good seafood.

The view is what gives this restaurant a 5. The food was a 4. It was good, but not spectacular. We had the swordfish with avocado pico topping, the sea bass with the avocado pico topping and the macadamia nut crusted mahi with mango topping. The first two were served with a rice pilaf and mixed vegetables of carrots and broccoli and the mahi came with sticky rice and soy garlic green beans. This latter rice and vegetables were more flavorful than the first two. The pilaf and broccoli carrot mix were bland. We all ordered the berry frisée salad with Brie crotons and it was delicious. We felt that the mahi was better than the sea bass and swordfish. These were a bit rubbery and the topping didn't really enhance. But oh the view! Way up high overlooking trees, the Willamette and part of the city. Definitely a special occasion restaurant and since the menu will change specialties always worth another visit. Pricey, yes, but for a special occasion worth the splurge.

Had reservations for my husbands birthday. The view was nice but the service was horrible. Our server was attentive to his other 3 tables just not us. He either thought we would not tip or it was because my husband was black. He didn't fill our waters, didn't bring us a bread basket, didn't have our correct drinks, steak was not done correctly but he walked by 3x's and did not ask why I wasn't eating or if our food was good. He tried to charge us for extra drinks. He did not ask us if we wanted dessert. He brought my husbands bday pie. Then on the way out I stopped by the bathroom and they did not have any toilet paper in any stall. Watched the waited drop something on the floor, pick it up and then go and serve plates of food without washing his hands. Sad because the food was good. I did talk to a manager and he seemed to not care either. This was truly a horrible birthday for my husband.

The view alone is worth it but the great food will keep you coming back. I had the best Bloody Mary i have ever tasted here. The prime rib was absolutely amazing. I had the blue cheese topping on mine. I recommend getting the sauce on the side to make you like it before spreading it all over you steak. The service was on point. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Friends who live here decided we should come to the Chart House for lunch. We are so glad they did!! Great views over the river and out to Mount Hood. Our 4 meal choices were salmon with coconut ginger rice, paneed chicken, crab louie salad and coconut crunchy shrimp. But the most amazing part of the meal was the hot chocolate lava cake we shared for dessert. I can recommend lunch at this restaurant.

The view is breathtaking. We had brunch with old friends and it was the perfect venue. Our waiter, Kyle, addressed all our needs without hovering. The brunch food was good. Though the menu was limited, the lunch menu was also available. I suspect some of the negative reviews come from overly demanding patrons.

The view is lovely. It’s definitely a major feature of this restaurant. There is valet only parking. We had a reservation and were seated about 5 minutes after checking in. We had a nice table by the window and a seasoned, skilled waiter. The view and service should be a 5. However, this restaurant in Not vegan friendly and barely vegetarian friendly. It’s Portland after all and that was unexpected. The vegetarian in our party had a salad, bread and a side of mushrooms. The waiter did kindly offer to make sure there was no meat in the salad or mushrooms. Excellent waiter. Our family member doesn’t make a fuss, but it puts a damper on the meal. The sea bass was good but other meals were pretty average. Prices are on the high side. I must mention the room itself- it’s lovely. We enjoyed the experience more than the food. The view and the service on a rainy Portland night was nice. The basement room with the bar and fireplace look cozy. We will consider going back again for those reasons, but there are better restaurants in Portland for value and tasty food.

From our 4:00 pm arrival on 5/5, with a helpful valet and kind hostess to our very satisfied departure, our visit to this Chart House could not have been more perfect!!We have been to five or more Chart Houses in like four states but this evening was extra special. Hungry after driving across Oregon, first time in this beautiful state, we arrived in Portland and found this favorite restaurant in a perfect setting overlooking the city/river/mountains with a lovely view. Began in lower bar with drinks and delicious Kim Chee Calamari, at good Happy Hour price/ portion for two. Moved upstairs to a more fantastic view with excellent service from Tawnya. Enjoyed bread, chopped salad that was split with our preferred dressings, my husband's favorite Coconut Crunchy Shrimp and my wonderful White Sea Bass topped off w/ Avocado Pico (for Cinco de Mayo) & accompanied with perfect broccoli, carrots and rice pilaf. No room for dessert this evening but know from past experience they are delicious! Glad there was not really a dress code as were casually dressed from traveling five hours and we also were trying to avoid the heavy Friday rush hour before checking into our hotel. Can't wait until we can return and do highly recommend!

We enjoyed our visit here tonight from start to finish! The hostess who greeted us was great as were our servers. My husband had the baked swordfish with shallot butter and he said it was delicious and needed nothing more than this butter mix. I had the crunchy coconut butterflied shrimp, one of my favorite entrees! We both also got the chopped salad which is the big reason I like eating here! I REALLY like this salad a LOT!! It's got tons of flavor and plenty of crunch. We'll be back, I'm sure!

This was our 3rd trip to the Portland restaurant. First time was pretty good. Last year was about a 3 and tonight was a 2. I’m afraid to go again in fear of a 1 experience. My steak was way under cooked and under seasoned (I’ve never had any luck with sending a steak back). My wife said hers was too salty. Even the table next to us sent their drinks back. Not worth the $170 we spent for 2 people.

Blew the whole weeks budget for one meal !! Very tasty food but that is no excuse for it being so costly . We will not ever go back because of this .

The Chart house is elegant. I am amazed there is not a dress code, as it begs for one!. The service was superb and friendly. My meal of fresh halibut with a pico/avocado topping was great, but my companions ordered prime rib and all three of them were not impressed. There was nothing special about it-just a hunk of meat. The clam chowder was very good, but could have been a little warmer. The Caesar salad was good. I enjoyed my meal, sorry my companions did not.

Chart House, Yesterday evening my girlfriend treated me for a birthday dinner, while the service was impeccable the food was not rewarding by any means. My girlfriend ordered the salmon which didn't come with the specified vegetables and when it arrived the portion was a tail piece and maybe 4 ounces. I ordered the prime rib, and was assured it would arrive at the temperature I specified, which it did not! The server mentioned they put the prime rib on the flat top to bring it to the desired doneness. No, you do not and this is someone that's been in food service industry my entire career! The mashed potatoes were cold. The issues I'm presenting are so easily preventable as "attention to detail" is an absolute must. I also didn't mentioned my experience to our server because I didn't want my girlfriend to be unhappy that I'm unhappy. The coconut deep fried prawns were delicious and tipped our server well. Thank you!

Food is ALL high calorie. Lots of butter and oils, good flavor, and presentation. It was hard to find a reasonable calorie meal. We ate in the lower bar, with a similar view and much quieter "private- feeling" atmosphere. it is a nice place, but did not provide a choice for a health- concerned person like me!

We went to the Chart House for our 40th Anniversary dinner while on an eleven day Oregon Road Trip. We were given a river view which was lovely especially since we are from out-of-town. The staff also gave us a congratulatory card which was a nice gesture. The Ahi tuna appetizer and green salad were very nice. The wine of the day was good too. The main dish was just ok as was the dessert. The real downside though was that service was very rushed and our waiter was just spouting the lines he needed to share quickly. He didn't even offer us coffee with dessert. He clearly wanted to get out of there. No congratulations at the end of the evening. I wouldn't recommend it for a special occasion as they aren't at the top of their game.

This place used to be good. Not anymore since they reopened after COVID. The service was inattentive. The medium-rare prime rib was medium-well. The lava cakes were clearly reheated in the microwave and were not even completely warm (and no lava). Will not return unless newer reviews show that they improve.

HORRIBLE experience!!!!!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!!! With all of the restaurants in Portland, go somewhere else. Went here to celebrate my husband’s birthday with our son & daughter-in-law. Our server took our drink & appetizer order. We waited, and waited, and waited. Finally our appetizers showed up - before we even got our napkins, silverware, or plates... Asked where our drinks were - finally 2 out of 3 showed up but still had to wait for the third one - they said it was because they had that particular whiskey locked up. The last drink finally showed up and it was weak and very watered down. The ONLY thing that was good was the view.

We came here for our anniversary and enjoyed a lovely dinner. Service was good and view was beautiful. Great food and presentation, with a good selection. Would definitely come back.

Locale favorite, my eye. Took very strategic clients here, per their request. Could not have been worse service and food was really poorly prepared: cold, incorrect and tasteless. I have literally had frozen dinners that were better. Our local guests were telling me about how this is “normally great...”— not a good sign. Service was ridiculously slow, every meal finally delivered as if she did not hear any specific orders. Gluten free? Good luck. Blackened? No. Microwaved. YES. Coconut rice? No. Cold, dried, tasteless white mound on plate. Veggies? Yes, one piece of broccoli, one carrot, one slice of pepper. Our guests told us they were embarrassed and apologized-because it was a business meeting and a location they picked, they did not complain. You know it’s bad when people push food around a plate trying to look like they’ve eaten. This was a REALLY POORLY PREPARED, COLD, TASTELESS MEAL THAT WAS barely served at all. Management should be ashamed that this squeeked by. When there are SO MANY great places to eat in Portland, I am APPALLED that this so called “local favorite” is still open.

Met friends for a great dinner here. The service was very good, the food was wonderful. Of course we had the filet mignon (7 & 9 oz), a Caesar salad, the Federalist and key lime pie for dessert. And while enjoying our get together with our friends we had a great view of Portland from the picture windows.

Went for my Birthday. Gorgeous views. Mike our servicer was pleasant. My Mango Mojito was delicious Had the Peach Shrimp Scallops. Scallops were raw and slimy. Our server ask the chef who said that is how they are prepared. My husband had the Coconut Shrimp they were doughy. If I ever go again I will eat in the bar during happy hour.

We came here for my birthday dinner and found a group of people at the next table also celebrating one of their young adult's birthday on the exact same day as mine, the 29th!! I love the chopped salad and always get that. It was once again very delicious! We also had the Chilean sea bass, the roasted chicken, and husband had the clam chowder. Everything was very good! We both felt the prices had gone up quite a lot as $47.00 for the sea bass seemed a bit high as did $31.50 for the chicken. But we had gift cards so it didn't "hurt" as much as if we were paying cash!

A select crowd of Family and Friends attending a Rehearsal Dinner in a private area of the local Chart House. The event was very organized, the seating very comfortable, and the service very attentive. The view was constructed by overgrown greenery on adjacent properties. I had the best Prime Rib that I’ve had in a long time! Very pleasant experience!

It has been several years since our last visit. The service seems a bit slower than I am used to for this quality restaurant, on a Wednesday evening. Meals were great, but my portion of swordfish steak seem a bit small for the top price charged. Having fond memories of the Newport Beach, CA Chart House, when we moved to Oregon, knew the Chart House was an outing we needed to do. The experience in past were great. Too bad things have changed. I am sure we will give them another chance, but Landry, needs to set it up.

My wife was celebrating her birthday. Nice surprise on the table was a birthday card. Then we were shocked to see her name on the menu. Started with the Lobster Bisque. Very tasty. The entree for me was the medium sized Prime Rib. My wife has the Grouper with Risotto. All good. Since we are members of the Landry's Select Club we got got the October special , free ice cream. Service was great. Atmosphere and view awesome. One of those places you will return again and again.

My husband was out of town, so I decided to get take out of my favorite items at Chart House, the coconut shrimp and the chopped salad. I was a little surprised by the charge for the take out containers, but that's what they charge, I guess. While I think the food is always better to eat while IN the restaurant, the food I got wasn't too bad to take home and enjoy.

First, I have to confess that Chart House, any location, is one of my favorite-all-time places to dine. Chart House-Portland did not disappoint. From the stunning view (Every seat in the place has a great view looking out over Portland and beyond.), to the superb menu, to the exceptional service (of JP, our waiter), my experience at this location met all of my expectations. We chose the Mahi Mahi and the swordfish as our entrees. Delicious! I look forward to returning!

First, the view of the city is amazing. I come here often when I'm in town. The happy hour is amazing, I just wish they had more seating! Cocktails and wine are priced at very affordable rates. The food on the happy hour is priced very low but the servings are very large! Friendly staff.

A beautiful drive up the hill from downtown Portland takes you the this restaurants prime viewing location. Plenty of window seats to view downtown, the Willamette River. The wine selection is extensive. Service was effective, friendly and to our pleasure non-interruptive. Free valet parking.

Oyr arrival was made special by Jorge…greeting us wih a smile and accommodating my wife’s special need by placing us in a booth. Then Anthony, our waiter, made the evening special with great service, humor and professionalism. Add to it all, the best clam chowder, superb prime rib and deserts (cookie based cake and mini cake) from the far-side of the moon. Thanks to all for making my wife’s 70th birthday special.

This place is top notch. It is spendy but considering the unbelievably good view and the extremely good food it is all good. Also this place has an incredible happy hour, its “ahi nachos” are off the hook. I highly reccomend this place for couples. If you are looking to impress your date bring her here.

The Chart House is a lovely place to enjoy lunch or dinner on a clear day. The views are beautiful and the food is good. Prices for lunch are reasonable, but more expensive during the dinner hour.

My sister has been working in the Portland area and wanted to have dinner here. We had eaten here once for Easter Brunch a couple of years ago, so it seemed like a good opportunity to go back for the view and for an early birthday dinner. It was very busy at 6 pm and until we left about 8 pm. We had nice window seats. We ordered a crab cake appetizer to share, my sister had a shrimp cocktail and the sizzling mushrooms. My husband had the grilled steelhead with vegetables (broccoli and carrots) and rice, and I had the ginger scallops and shrimp. We shared the lava cake for dessert. The crab cake was disappointing- it looked great - golden brown - but was just warm inside. And I don’t think it was Dungeness crab. My husband was not impressed with his meal. The shrimp cocktail and mushrooms were great. The scallops and shrimp were also good with rice, mushrooms, bok choy and a delicious sauce. The scallops were a beautiful golden brown - the shrimp were the same as those in the shrimp cocktail, only they were warm. Lava cake was good - milk chocolate instead of dark chocolate and definitely large enough to be shared by at least 2 people. Service was good and the restaurant was well-staffed. Entrees were slow to arrive, so it was good to have an appetizer.

From the time we pulled up...in an Uber with Uber driver trying to be polite and wait to let us out when the driver in front pulled away...first words out of the valets mouth was” the driver could have pulled down his window to tell me what he was doing, he is rude”. No buddy you are! We go inside check in with receptionist give her our name , reservation time and she said ok just give us 5 minutes and we will set up your table. 10 minutes goes by while she is seating others and comes back to us and asks , “are you waiting for someone? “ we said yes our other couple. Another 5 minutes passes, parades us through the dining room asking if we recognize the other couple we are waiting for, and we say they haven’t arrived yet!!!! Oh my goodness, she was a disaster. The waiter was over the top in our faces . He kept referring to me as My Dear but the worst was, not only did he come back to our table smelling like he had just put his cigarette out.... obviously smokes on his break but worst gives us the bill and circles the 20% tip as the two recommended amount. He received 15% for that bone head move. Never going back to this restaurant. This is the jv team and food was average at best.

The setting for this lovely restaurant couldn't be better and the prices lower than I expected for such, The food (Sunday brunch) was good but not great. Not a huge menu but variety...egg dishes, coconut shrimp, fish, burger.

Stunning views of downtown Portland and the Willamette river are available from your table at the Chart House. Service is very good and they have a nice bar/happy hour. Seafood and steaks are very good and they have an extensive wine list. Good for business dinners as an alternative to downtown Portland and you can avoid the hellish traffic you have to navigate to get to downtown.

We went for the view (which was fabulous) but the food and service really exceeded expectations. Lots of times places like this just aren't the best restaurants but everything about our meal was absolutely delicious and everyone who served us was super pleasant and efficient. It isn't cheap but I'd go back anytime!

Amazing view! Food was tasty. I had the eggs with fruit and a home made cinnamon roll swimming in glaze. What a beautiful sight... the cinnamon roll itself was a bit on the firm side for my liking (maybe next time I'll order it medium rare). Everyone else's dishes looked equally amazing and heard no complaints. Staff was great, never had to wait. Valet was nice.

Sat. nite 08 December 2018 I drove up to the valet at Chart house. He asked if we had a reservation. I said no. He said we couldn't be seated until 8:30, no surprise on a Sat. nite. I told him we would head into the bar. He said that it was closed for a private party. This is a decent place to eat (not spectacular) with a view (is spectacular). My suggestion would be to call before going if you intend to use the bar facilities in any manner. Food-4 star, view-6 star, user friendly-1 star.

The view is remarkable. Food and service is good, prices are on the high side. Valet parking is mandatory. It's a great place for happy hour

I took a group of 50 senior adults to Chart House for a luncheon as part of a weeklong tour of Oregon, and this was one of the highlights of the trip, clearly the best meal we had all week. The view is great. The service was excellent.

THIS WAS THE FIRST RESTUARANT I VISITED WHEN I MOVED TO THE PACIFIC NW 25 YEARS AGO. WE HAVE ALWAYS ENJOYED THE GREAT VIEWS SERVICE AND FOOD. THAT BEING SAID TODAYS VISIT WILL BE OUR LAST. THE FOOD WAS LESS THAN INSPIRING AND THE WAIT STAFF WERE OVERWORKED WHILE HOSTESSES WERE PLENTIFUL, THEY HAD A LAISEZFAIRE ATTITUDE. OUR PARTY OF 4 WAS AN HOUR EARLY AND HAD TO SIT IN THE BAR ON TABLES DESIGNED FOR TWO. THE WAIT PERSON WAS NOT ATTENTIVE WE HAD TO ASK FOR BREAD AND ONLY CLEARED THE TABLE 20 MINUTES AFTER WE HAD COMPLETED OUR MEAL.

Restaurant is in scenic area surrounded by trees (and nearby Totem Pole). Great views of Mt. Hood, Mt. Saint Helens, Willamette River and Ross Island. Best steelhead I have had. Calimari and Octopus also good. Made mistake of ordering a salad which turned out to be larger than I expected and dulled my appetite for later dishes. Service was very good. We took out of town visitor, who was greatly impressed. It was, however, a bit too noisy for comfortable conversation. A bit pricey.

The location is on a hill in southwest Portland above the hospital complex. (You'd need a car). It has been a local special occasion favorite for many years, but is kind of pricey. It has a full bar and wine list. We ordered Asian influenced salads (shrimp soba, coconut shrimp, crab mango) and were not disappointed. Service seemed slow and scattered. We were having a late lunch on a weekday, though.

A group of us went to dinner to celebrate several birthdays. There were cards on the the table for each person who was having a birthday. They also received a complimentary dessert. The staff was very accomodating and the food delicious. Recommend the coconut shrimp and the stuffed shrimp. Spendy, but worth the view , service and food.

My wife and I have lived in Portland for about 20 years and never bothered going to the Chart House. It was on the other side of town, we didn't think if it would be all that great, etc, etc. We finally picked it for a celebration dinner. Wow, we were very impressed with the meal, the service and even the valet parking attendants, not to mention the view. In Portland, the City Grill is known for its view, but Chart House has a much better view, in our opinion. It was very hot day and the restaurant was nice and cool - this is not always the case in many places. This will be a regular place for us, it's worth the drive.

We had a nice dinner at the window table. View over the river and part of the city was very nice and we liked it very much. Choice of food was wide and most of the table went for fish in various shapes. All the dishes were good in size but would appreciate a bit of modern touch over them. It seemed a bit decadent. One dish was NY steak and it was slightly to much done for the medium. Side dishes were great and we really liked the spinach. Vine choice is good. The room was perhaps a bit too noisy. Service was good and waitress was helpful and polite.

My family and I have eaten at Chart House MANY times since moving to Portland area. I can think of ONE TIME that the food wasn't top notch and after "commenting" to the manager, he made it 100% right. The filet is always good (my wife and daughter's favorite) and I dive into various other dishes. ALWAYS come away smiling! We have also had lunch there several times...the burger may be the best in town and the coated/seasoned fries are hot and crispy. Had the mac 'n chees in the box lunch once and it may be the best ever. The service is top-notch, and with reservations, wait time is very short, even on Valentine's Day, etc. Prices are not off the chart (no pun intended) either!

Portland’s Chart House was recommended by our Uber driver and it did not disappoint. Beautiful views were just the beginning for a beautiful evening. Creative menu with a nice variety of dishes. Highly recommend the Kim Chee Calamari. Somewhat pricey but definitely worth it!

5 adults had a reservation for 5PM on a Saturday night. Nice surprise that the menu of the day, had a welcome to the Birthday person at the top of each menu. The wine was excellent- we tried 3 different kinds. The coconut shrimp was beyond GREAT. We had Mahi Mahi, Swordfish and Salmon. All Excellent. The choc. Lava Cake was excellent. And the Birthday Boy got a nice surprise with a large piece of Ice Cream Cake w/a candle. The Server JP was EXCELLENT. A little pricey, But the view and food are well worth it.

Five of us ate there, to thank one who had created a wonderful weekend for us. Two of us preferred to eat vegetarian. I called ahead on vegetarian choices, since I had seen only vegetarian side dishes online. The staff said there was a new vegetarian menu, not online. I asked for an example. She said a salad. I was not too excited. We arrived. I got the "vegetarian" menu once we were seated. There were two vegetarian choices: a salad, a "Beyond Meat" burger; and the vegetarian side dishes. Very disappointing. I would have been happy with a pasta with vegetables. I am surprised the chefs/management here had NO imagination on preparing a vegetarian dish. I know the restaurant is steak & seafood but how about those people who did not choose the restaurant but are a part of the dining party? Shouldn't the restaurant want to have them happy? I will NOT go back.

Friends took me to the Chart House for my birthday I have not been there since 1998 when friends visited from OZ The food and the service were impeccable and the finale featured a slice of mocha almond fudge 'cake' What a lovely experience

Echoing a number of other posts here, Christmas Eve was a disorganized disaster at the chart house in Portland. I've been to almost every chart house on the west coast, even the one in Kaneohe Hawaii before it closed, and this night was almost comical if I wasn't dropping +$500 on dinner. First of they ran out of every fish on the menu, let that sink in for a moment. Then no manager came over to apologize or comp a drink or dessert, and to make sure I'll never be back my two emails to Corp have gone unaddressed. Good bye chart house, I for one will not be back..

Whenever I visit a new restaurant and it has calamari on the menu, I always order it as it's what I use to see if it's a "different" restaurant. Few restaurants treat calamari well....instead of using a light dusting of batter and minimal frying, they'll roll it in a tasteless batter and deep fry it until it's just an overcooked lump of batter. This is what the Chart House served me Sunday. It came on a bed of similar battered and deep fried vegetables which I couldn't identify, along with a sauce that couldn't penetrate the crusty calamari. On top of all this, it took over 15 minutes and having to ask where my food was, to get the appetizer. I decided to end my visit without ordering any further food.

I've been to many a Chart House and they always have great locations. This one is no different. Sitting on a top of the hill it has fantastic views of all of Portland and the rivers, all set in a forest. Just beautiful. The food is also typical Chart House, very good....just not wow good. All that said we very much enjoyed our lunch there and the service was excellent.

Stopped in for lunch while visiting the area, if it wasn't for GPS, would never have found this restaurant. But once we did, it was worth it, the views were incredible. Had a nice lunch and the service was very good. Would have liked to see more seafood entrees on the menu. Just an FYI, the parking lot is small and the spots are tight.

There is quite a menu of scrumptious food to order on happy your ranging from 4 - 7 dollars. $6 wines and $7 cocktails. We were there to celebrate my birthday month. The service was friendly and efficient. What a great view of the entire city. We were their on Memorial day, about 4:30pm and the lounge area was wide open. They also have complimentary valet parking. Highly recommend it to locals who want a quick getaway, and feel like you on vacation. Or a must see for visitors to Portland. The bartender was our waiter and just went out of his way to assure a great experience.

While this chart house might have one of the best views in Portland, service is so bad, it’s laughable. If you can handle that, the food is typical Chart House fare, though on the upside. Oyster selection is good, fish is fresh, although my cut of Ahi was the worst ever. Fatty, thick, and in need of a steak knife to try to eat. If we hadn’t been with friends, I would have sent it back. Wine selection is mediocre if you like a dry crisp white but reds are good. If you want to have a conversation be sure to wait for a window seat or it’s really impossible to hear. The view, even in a stormy night is lovely. Our waiter assured us at the start that he could take care of us expertly; I guess that should have been a clue. He pretty much disappeared intermittently. And donned an attitude that left a bit to be desired.

Had a reservation and was seated promptly at a window with a great view. Waiter was not inexperienced but could have done a better job. We ordered crispy shrimp as an appetizer, and they were very good. My wife ordered salmon and claimed it was the best she'd had in a long time. I ordered a fillet, medium and it came out medium well... probably because it was so thin... 1/2 inches. It's hard to cook thin steak properly. Waiter never came back to the table after the food arrived to ask about it except when I had two bites left when he delivered a glass of wine I ordered before the entrees arrived... still gave him 20%. Carpets could be cleaner.

So disappointed! Food was good, bartender nice but waitress and evening manager both really arrogant. I would not recommend this restaurant!

The food and service was just amazing. I took my wife for her Birthday and the food did not disappoint. The reason I didn't give 5 stars is because even though we had a reservation it still took a little over 20min to get seated and the waiting area was full so seating was limited.

This is a Landry's establishment and as such serves good quality uninspired American fare. We have no complaints about the food: the petite filet mignon were well prepared and tasty as were the oysters we enjoyed as an appetizer. The chop salad was lovely as well. Our server, Jacob was polite and enthusiastic and although he missed a couple of beats his work was professional. The one disappointment of the evening was the hostess; she was actually rude: she failed to greet us (no good evening or hello) but gave us a look inviting us to state we had a reservation and then briskly walked us to our table where she partially cleared two of the settings assuming we were going to sit on the same side of table. When I sat facing my wife she replaced my table setting with all the silverware to one side of the plate with the napkin of the opposite side and failed to remove the extra settings. Again no, "enjoy your meal" or any greeting. We found her to be rude and unprofessional and hope Landry's will improve their training regimen to insure this behaviour is not inflicted on any other clients.

Stopped by this evening to try out Chart House Happy Hour. I had the fried artichokes with lemon aioli, the lobster bisque, key lime pie, and a pomegranate mojito. All were delicious. The perfectly prepared artichokes were presented on a bed of crunchy translucent white noodles. I ate the artichokes with the aioli and ended up putting the noodles in the bisque. The lobster bisque is unctuous, perfectly cooked, not too salty, with generous chunks of lobster. Adding the noodles gave each bite a crunch. The cocktail was well-balanced—and the key lime pie was good too. My only complaint about the pie was that it was HUGE. It would have been a good size to share, so I left half behind. My only complaints were that I was freezing cold (in a corner by the window) and the service was spotty. The waiter/bartender was friendly enough, but it took forever for him to notice me, I didn’t get the water I requested, and he was slow to bring the check. That being said, the service was reasonably good. I was offered refills, etc. I’ll go again.

Although it was a slightly cloudy winter day at lunchtime, it was clear enough to see two mountains, the Willamette River, downtown, and everything in between. This was good news since one of us was visiting from Chicago. Our server was attentive (unlike others' experience), and the food was certainly above average. I chose a cup of the lobster bisque (which was full of lobster pieces--more so than any other I've had in the past) and flavorsome. For my main, I chose the seafood stack with avocado, mango, and shrimp/crab mixture all layered into a cylindrical shape--very attractive and quite tasty; I would order this combo again. Perhaps the worst issue was the fan in the kitchen in the center of the dining room was making a very annoying grinding noise for 3/4 of our time there. At some point, the handy man guy came to fix it and managed to stop the noise. We don't go often to this restaurant, but the setting is worth a visit every few years.

Wow I always heard the food was good. Nope not at all. The bread was good that was it. The crab cake was clearly canned. It was so salty the dog wouldn’t eat it (so a $15 dollar laugh was what that was good for). I like how they managed to source some really large shrimp for the caesar salad I ordered. The shrimp was cocktail shrimp not grilled like it said on the menu. I had to replace the gross salad dressing with Toby’s ranch cuz daaaamn that was bad. Thank goddess the dressing came on the side or I would’ve only had bread to eat (rolls eyes) I don't know when the idea of everything tasting sooooo salty that it’s like having a salt lick became popular, but it really needs to change as an idea on how to cook. I literally could source fresh crab right now so having a crab cake here should be really a fresh crab not an old canned crab.

My husband's birthday and our anniversary are coming soon, and we decided to have dinner at Chart House to celebrate. We were not disappointed in anything as we had attentive servers and some of the best Mahi Mahi ever! Husband got the "Mac Nut Crusted Mahi Mahi" and I got the lemon-butter Mahi Mahi which came with fingerling potatoes which are my go-to potatoes that I enjoy every chance I can when eating out! I got my very favorite salad, their chopped salad, which was SO delicious and husband got the "springtime and strawberry" salad which my offered bite told me was also quite good. Our water glasses were quickly refilled when needed and anything we needed was fairly quickly supplied. We had a great time overall and thank Chart House!

We booked a family Christmas Eve dinner at the Chart House in Portland over 30 days before the event. We arrived 15 minutes early for our reservation and walked into a jammed entry of frustrated guests. When we checked in we were told it would be at least an hour to be seated because they were “overbooked”. Seem like a restaurant that attempts to claim fine dining would try to provide a decent dining experience rather than grabbing for every diner they can sucker in the door.

Our car was valet parked for us. Our reservations were in order and we were immediately seated by the window. We enjoyed a bottle of wine, warm chopped spinach salad, lobster tails with drawn butter, polenta, and asparagus. Dessert was cheesecake and a giant mud pie. The view of the Willamette River and the Cascades complimented our meal. We enjoyed every minute and recommend this special occasion restaurant.

Phenomenal view very good atmosphere and good food perched High atop a hill overlooking the entire River Valley and downtown Portland this view cannot be beat the interior furnishings and setup are quite nice as well two tiered restaurant bar very large but still cozy with a fireplace at the far end happy hour is quite good the only thing I would recommend is expanding the happy hour wine by the glass list it was very limited they might want to add up Pinot Noir and also some non Oaky whites

I've gone 3 times because I was smitten with the view but I have to admit that I was disappointed by some of the food so you really need to know what to order. Ask for the brown bread. Don't order the crab salad if you like fresh crab. Talk to your waiter about what's really fresh.

Ten of us celebrated a friends birthday last evening and had a great dinner! I tried the pasta w/shrimp (large prawns) and enjoyed the Chilean Sea Bass immensely! Great dinner, Great Company and excellent view of the city! Class Operation!

We have heard about this place for some time - It was really great to be able to eat here. The view is excellent and the Filet Mignon was very good, as was the salad and yukon potatoes. I thought the price was a bit high as you had to order ala carte (on the salad) - The meal was 36.00 or so (for the Filet and Potatoes)... a bit high in my opinion. Overall great experience however! Thank you!

It was a special birthday for my aunt. I mentioned this in my Open Table reservation, but did not expect staff to remember or do anything special. We were happily surprised to see they not only noticed the birthday, they had a birthday card waiting on the table and printed special menus with a customized Happy Birthday on them! Our waiter Jason was excellent - he gave us the advice we needed and made it a special evening. He anticipated our every need. He also later wrapped up the special menus for us with a nice ribbon- excellent touch! Everything we tried on the menu was excellent - - Spinach salad - Lobster bisque soup - Filet Mignon - Chicken Romano - Macadamia Crusted Mahi

Had crab cake it was mushy and was like cat food. I assumed it was Dungeness but certainly wasn't. Yuck canned crab at a fancy restaurant 😩

I booked a reservation on Open Table and mentioned it was our 21st anniversary and would like a table with a view. This place has an amazing view. After we were seated, they brought us our menus and a card for our anniversary signed by the staff. As we were looking at the menu we were surprised to see and happy anniversary comment with our last name printed on the menu. My wife was having a hard time deciding so she had a lot of questions for our server, JP. He was amazing with his knowledge of the menu and how everything was cooked. He was probably the best server we have had anywhere. I ordered the New York steak and she ordered flame cooked halibut. With some adjustments on the side dishes. Both meals were cooked to perfection and had amazing flavor. We also pre-ordered dessert. Chocolate lave cake, with Godiva chocolate liquor, chocolate ganache, ice cream topped with a crushed Heath bar. The best dessert I have ever had. This is going to be our place for our anniversary every year and for special occasions. It is spendy but our meals with the dessert were just under $100.

Tip: Sunday’s Brunch get reservation at 10am, then you can get a window view and less money than dinner and there is no velvet parking you have to pay for, I just left a tip. This was our Christmas time brunch with my friend, and I keep thinking of the omelet I had, our service and the view. There was a nice fresh Christmas tree. I came home and told my husband and friends about my experience and I can’t wait to go back. I read some reviews and was surprised at some of the negative remarks, since I had a GREAT TIME.

We were in a party of 10 on a Saturday night so that was our first mistake. There is a great view overlooking the city and the place was packed. We had an 8pm reservation so we were seated within a few minutes. From there, the service went downhill. By the time we were finished and pay the bill, it was 10:30pm, a half hour after they closed. We should have been out of there by 9:30pm. In summary, the food was very good, but it is also very expensive. We expected the high prices but not the poor service. I don’t know if they were understaffed or if we just had a poor server but it made the dinner a miserable experience for my wife and I.

Wow, what a fantastic dinner experience at The Chart House. We started out getting seated at a window with a fantastic view and a personalized menu. We started out with the Charred Octopus which was perfectly done. I had the salmon fillet and my wife had Mahi Mahi. Both were cooked to perfection. Afterward, we indulged in the chocolate volcano dessert and some coffee which was a great end to a very memorable dinner. I cannot say enough about the wait staff, the chef, the view and the overall ambience of the place. A very special place for special occasions.

Great food, good drinks, and an amazing view. A little on the pricey side but well worth the trip. Modern interior with very friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Took my wife for her birthday as we had heard it was very good. We arrived early and went downstairs to wait (apparently with all the open tables they couldn't figure out which one to sit us at). If you have people with you under 21, there is not a lot of room to sit and wait. When we got seated it was a nice location by the windows--the view was not bad at all but it was rainy and overcast, if it had been clear it would have been gorgeous. The service was great--prompt and attentive without hovering. The shrimp cocktail appetizer was good and the cocktail sauce was great--spicy with horseradish--but a bit overpriced given how many you get. Crab cakes were ok. Kim chee calamari was very good. The clam chowder was very good. For dinner, three of us had salmon and my wife had prime rib. The salmon was excellent. The prime rib was a bit fatty but was cooked very well. So while I want to give them a 5 there are a few things that knocked it down to a four--a few of the food items and the prices which seemed just a bit on the high side.

The 5 of us had a most enjoyable lunch at Chart House. The view of the river and Mt. Hood provided the perfect background. The food and wine were delicious - each of the 5 entrees were excellent. The server was great fun and a provided recommendations that we all felt were correct.

Went to this fancy restaurant as part of Portland's dining week- the three course menu was very good ( wedge salad, salmon and creme/ chocolate dessert) the setting stunning and the server very attentive. Many people were there celebrating special occasions, we just enjoyed a great dinner!

I typically make an effort to rate positive experiences but unfortunately I feel it necessary to express my extreme frustration over our pre Christmas eve lunch we had at Chart House. My family has been here before and the service has been great but this time was disappointing. It seemed like there were 2 servers for the entire upper floor. The food took an hour to get to the table and only 3 of the 4 meals were ready. There was no communication from the staff about timelines or apologies for the delays and quite frankly it seemed like staff must've been hiding as there was barely and staff ever around. In the times we had been prior, our water glasses were constantly refilled but this time I repeatedly had an empty glass. I ended up refilling our glasses with water pitchers that were on a nearby ledge. It appeared there were literally no busers as our dirty salad plates remained on our table far too long causing me to put them on the ledge. It was ridiculous. When the fourth meal was finally provided to our table, 2 of us had finished our meals. Although who I presume to be a manager brought the meal, apologized and comped that meal, this effort did not make up for the rest of our experience and I let him know of my concerns. He did not seem to be surprised by my complaint and made no effort to rectify the situation. The staff had multiple opportunities to improve this experience which would've prevented this review but since that didn't happen I find it important to share this with others. On a positive note, the mojito flight for 2 was delicious and the views, as always, were incredible.

The Chart House is a wonderful restaurant that offers a wide range of options, with a beautiful view! My husband and I went to Chart House last year for our anniversary, and the staff treated us wonderfully. They paid close attention to us, and even gave us a card in congratulations! I'd recommend calling ahead to make a reservations, as this restaurant is very prompt and organized with their customers. The only complaint I have is the prices- it's an expensive restaurant, so I'd recommend saving this place for a special occasion!

It was such a lovely NYE day that my friend and I decided to have lunch at the Chart House and enjoy the spectacular view. Sadly, when we arrived at the Chart House shortly after 1:00, we were told that they had decided to cut off lunch service early and to start their $81 dinner menu. Unfortunately, the restaurant seemed to have some problems living up to their standard of excellence. The clam chowder tasted like a cream soup. The bread that accompanied the soup arrived just as we were finishing the soup. The lobster entree was accompanied by limp vegetables. The dessert tasted like it had been sourced at my local grocery store. And, to top of this visit to the Chart House, the service was sloppy and regrettable. Nonetheless, the view over the city and to the mountains was amazing!

Food was exceptional, as always...and view was stupendous. Service was also excellent. I highly recommend joining the Landry Select Club.
Christmas
Went to this restaurant for a special Christmas dinner. We were so happy with the table we were given and can’t say enough good things about our server. However, because it was Christmas the menu was different, we ordered our soup/salad, entree and dessert together. No problem, however, while the most of my family was very happy with their meal, my husbands entree was a seafood dinner which consisted of 3 small scallops and 2 small shrimp and a scoop of rice. Not even an appetizer size. He and I ended up sharing my meal. Each meal cost $65.00. I knew this is a fine dining restaurant and I don’t mind the cost, but I feel like we were taken advantage of because of the holiday.
