Amazing Experience!!

First timers! - Pre-booked - food was excellent and got to see all characters - Mickey, Goofy - Pluto - Donald Duck - Minney. Staff....they are simply amazing - they bleed excellent customer service! They set the bar at perfection!

Disappointing Experience

By Tara T |

I've never written a review before, but our experience at Chef Mickey's was so disappointing that I felt compelled to warn others. We had an 8PM dinner reservation on a Friday evening, 2/25/22. I'm know that this is likely the end of a long day for the servers, and I'm sure it's not an easy job, but the service was absolutely awful. The server assigned to our table seemed impatient and angry the entire time, and the whole meal was rushed. Dinner is brought to the table family style, but the bread, salads, and main courses were brought out almost at the same time. The server forgot to bring us the caddy with butter pads (for the bread) and ketchup (for the tater tots) and the food got cold while we tried helplessly to flag someone down to bring us these things. When we finally got our server's attention, she seemed annoyed and the butter pads were practically thrown at us. This was all pretty confusing. Our kids are 8 and 4 and very well-behaved and quiet, so I'm not sure why she was so upset. The food itself was awful - greasy, undercooked, and tasted terrible. We didn't have high expectations for the food, but it was still disappointing because we hardly ate. Finally, the characters were rushed and disorganized. We understood the covid protocols that they would have in place, but we were finished with our (rushed) meal before Mickey or Minnie even came over to our table, and then the characters disappeared. We waited another 15 minutes for them to come out again and had to wait for Minnie and Mickey to come to our table since our daughters were excited to meet them. When the characters did come over, it was a very brief wave and pose. My youngest daughter was a little scared of the characters and they paid no attention to her at all. I know they have to stay 6 feet apart, but it just seemed very mechanical. This restaurant is not at all worth the hefty price.

Fun for the kids!

By Lana P |

We went for breakfast and even though we read a lot of mixed reviews this place was not bad. We enjoyed watching the kids seeing the characters. They came by twice which was plenty since you see the Fab 5 at different times and there was enough time to get a picture with all of them. The food was so so. Plenty of it. The breakfast casserole was the best. It is pricey but definitely filled us up.

Good Time

By Allison G |

We enjoyed the dinner food. There was a large quantity of food that they chose and you can get more of any items you want. They bring a kids plate with kid friendly food such as nuggets, mac and cheese, corn dogs, etc. We missed having access to the buffet though because the buffet offered more options. It was great to be able to hug the characters again. My 6 year old daughter loves the interaction and was so excited to be near them again. We had a good experience.

Fabulous!

By Bcjepat |

Fabulous food, great service! We enjoyed the adults and kids menu here, all cooked really well, friendly staff and great character interactions! 100% recommended!

Always a great time

By The_fab_Traveler |

I have been here several times. This visit we did not have a reservation, we did a walk on. We waiting about 20 minutes. The breakfast is brought to your table. They bring everything that is offered. You can request seconds of anything. The food is good and the characters are wonderful. Highly recommended!

Bad day to visit, moody Mickey

By alessandrabcc |

Food was ok, many options but the server (Carlos) kept rushing us to leave. If I am paying all this money, expect me to stay at least one hr in there. This is not just dining but an experience. Mickey was not friendly today (11/2/23) and we waited for him the most. All the other characters were nice especially Pluto. I came here 7 years ago and it was a completely different experience. It was disappointing.

Fun expériences / bad food

By Stan |

Fun breakfest with caracters ,my kid LOVE it. but the breakfest quality was pretty mediocre , you basically pay for the caracter expériences but for the price they should up the quality because it’s not worth the money you pay for .

I don’t think so!

By CJ22 |

Just writing to give families a heads up. Breakfast buffet was mediocre at best. Didn’t taste anywhere near the price. Only saw Minnie, Goofy, and Donald during breakfast. No Pluto or Daisy. To see Mickey, you have to go stand in line AFTER you eat and you can take a pic with him. But he is not visiting tables during breakfast. Seems odd since it’s called Chef Mickey’s but he is absent during the meal. Restaurant is run down and definitely could use a facelift. I want to say positive comments but it was very disappointing for a character breakfast.

Hope you have an extra 1.5 hours to spend after your meal to meet Mickey: Disney has chosen to replace the Magic with BS

By tremendousupside |

We have a family of 6 people (5 adults, 1 under 9 years old) and went to Chef Mickey's Friday 3/31 at around 5:30PM for Dinner. This place embodies the current state of affairs with Disney right now. They have shifted their focus from the customer to the bottom line. This dinner is the perfect example. We spent $475 for the meal. The food was good especially the salmon and mashed potatoes. Hmmm Character Dinner, no sign of Mickey. That's part of the high price is to see Mickey since it is fully advertised as a character dining experience and Mickey is advertised in the group of characters. What they don't tell you is you have to show a paid receipt and then stand in an hour to hour and a half line just to see Mickey. No Lighting Lane for this line! What a ridiculously Disney thing to do. They have replaced the Magic with BS.

Awful

By BethMc05 |

Pre Covid this place was amazing and the food was outstanding. It’s overpriced and the food doesn’t compare to the food we had here pre Covid. You use to get up and dance with the character and now you stay in your seat and clap your hands. Daisy and Mickey were a no show. Don’t waist your money! Chef Mickey’s needs to step it up if they want to continue to charge those prices for awful food and waiting an hour to meet 3 characters!

Fun & Delicious Brunch

By jackiebr63 |

We came for the characters and absolutely no disappointment there! What surprised most of the adults was the buffet and deliciousness of the breakfast menu. They present a huge array of different food to vegetation to gluten free to healthy egg, grits, meats, fruit pastries to house made gluten free Mickey ears waffles & other delicious foods. We had reservations as this place is extremely popular! And honestly I understand why! One caveat it’s a more pricey brunch than non Disney places.

Tourist trap

By tseven |

Don’t get me wrong if you have small children then meeting the characters is a special experience that you will get here, however…. If you have children over 9(who are still children in my opinion) then you will pay an eye watering $62 dollars for them. My daughter is 10 and doesn’t want to eat 4 or 5 plates of food although I understand this is normal for some. The upshot is that for a family of 4, 2 adults(parents) and children aged 10 and 7 it cost £275 dollars including tip(1 drink each) This is poor value and we won’t return

Not how it used to be

By Jared V |

I remember Chef Mickey's from a few years back, and this is not how I remembered it, or I wouldn't have come back. When we arrived, I ordered a drink from their specials list, and the waitress had no idea what I was talking about, she brought out food but walked right away without asking if we needed condiments, it felt like she was in a hurry to get to the next table, and was just ready for us to leave. It seemsled that since she knows the $60 tip is included, she didn't need to put the effort in to deserve it. The water we were all drinking smelled and tasted like they scooped it out of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, for anyone who knows, it's a very distinct smell and not something you'd want to drink. The food was mediocre at best. On top of paying insane prices for that quality the bathroom floor was slippery with no sign of wet floor and my 2yo slipped at the urinal and hit his face on it which left him with a bruise and a swollen cheek. I had the manager come to let her know and she was nice enough to bring ice for his cheek and have someone clean the floor but that doesn't make up for the terrible experience we had at the "new" chef mickey's.

Chef Mickeys it’s all about the Characters- The food is not the focus

By Greg W |

You dont go to Chef Mickey’s for the food experience, you go for the character experience of the fab 5 with kids. You are paying a premium for the characters, and it being at Disney. Those complaining they had to wait even though they had booked 60 days out, just stop it. They are servings 100s of guests per hour, it’s basically a cafeteria with Mickey and that’s OK. There are other character dining options but this does not require going to a park, it’s a short walk to Magic Kingdom. I’m going soon, I’d rather not, BUT I am for our grandchild’s first visit. I will treasure the experience, the food will serves its purpose.

The BEST character breakfast!

By Megan Nicole R |

I’m not sure why there are so many reviews and complaints that this place is overrated. As someone who has been to most character breakfasts this is by far the best. I felt like character interactions were not rushed. The food is SO good especially the cinnamon rolls and cheesy potatoes. No complaints except it is pricey. We will be back every time we visit Disney.

Fab !!!!

By Becky H |

Dan our server was completely amazing ! Looked after our family and was so attentive and kind. A fantastic evening enhanced by the presence of Dan !!! Great employee and a credit to Disney

Fun! Fun!

By Disneylover23 |

We love Chef Mickey’s for the entertainment, not really the food. We’ve gone a couple of times and love having Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto come to our table for pictures and hugs. The kids love it!

You are only here for the characters

By HarperStarr |

The food was AWFUL.... but the characters were wonderful! We loved that Mickey, Minnie and 3 other characters came to the table. Definitely plan dinner to be sent to your room after!

Had a great time!

By Tina |

Took my one year old granddaughter and she loved it. The breakfast food was so good and we had a lot of pictures with characters. Highly recommend!

Pleasantly Surpised

By Dee |

Food and characters was amazing. I had low expectations for a Disney buffet but the food surprised me. The turkey and sirloin were amazing-tender and seasoned perfectly. The sides were so good. So many fresh and home cooked options. Steamed broccoli, cheese ravioli and rice and buttered chicken. Very tastey salad that Ben my 14 year old ate. Yes it is extremely expensive since and I think that needs to change but I honestly was very satisfied with the food and meeting all the characters.

Chef Mickeys 16 years later

By trvlnut21 |

Enjoyed a quick January trip to Walt Disney World. Have not been to Chef Mickeys since our boys were little. The food was better than I remembered. Absolutely loved it.

Awful since it went family style. Waste of money.

By HB |

This is absolutely awful since Covid. Prior to Covid it was an excellent buffet. Now they have used Covid as an excuse to keep it as family style so a platter gets delivered to your table. Very limited choice. Food pretty rubbish and very expensive. Much nicer buffets available. Don’t waste your time and money here.

Just ok this time around.

By LHN0320 |

A little disappointed in Chef Mickeys this time around. Things have definitely changed post covid. The food was just ok and the options weren’t there like before. We got to see the characters which was great except for Daisy who for some reason they have removed from the core lineup. The service was subpar. Unless you want to see many of the core characters I’d say go to another buffet so you can enjoy the food more.

Daughter birthday weekend

By Nadia H |

It was just awful. Beware of the Disney characters they won’t even come near for a picture. It’s a joke, the food is just plain nasty. I wish I could have just stayed at Maya grill for my reservation. Please sing come here expecting Mickey and his friends to give a too experience . It was just plain disappointing.

Decent Character Buffet

By ccarlson2022 |

This isn’t my favorite Disney restaurant but it was fine. My 12 year old daughters didn’t remember our last visit so we decided to come back. The characters are great. They will spend as much or little time with you as you want. The food is OK. Nothing special just most buffets aren’t. The lines aren’t great as you can go to either end and they are the same. Both meet in the middle where the carving station is located. So there is a bit of a mess trying to decide who is next for the one person cutting and serving the meat. Super eat to get to by bus or monorail outside of Magic Kingdom. You could walk here from MK as well. We don enough walking that we choose not too. And it is a great excuse to ride the monorail. I wouldn’t visit here every trip but once every few years would be fine.

Want some joy and laughter mixed with your meal?

By Jonathan T |

My daughter has always wanted to try this restaurant and so on our last visit to see her, we decided it was time. Eating here is as much about the experience as it is the food and neither disappointed. The characters do a great job of interacting with all guests--from the youngest to the oldest and even to a service dog. Their dancing is entertaining and their posing for pictures (lots and lots of pictures) is appreciated. The brunch fare is also quite extensive; almost cruise ship like in variety and amount. It would take a pretty grumpy person to not enjoy a meal here. It is not cheap, but it is an event, a show, and food and I do not have an issue with seeing and experiencing joy while enjoying plenty of good food.

Couldn't get a reservation

By Nathan G |

My wife had been calling every day for the past three months, trying to get reservations, and when someone finally answered the phone, she was told that they couldn't take our reservation until 60 days prior. Each day she called to set up a reservation at the 60 day mark, they told us they were already booked and that was after we tried to make reservations on the website. This was the only thing my wife had planned as a special treat for our little one. Very disappointed in the customer service to say the least.

You get a little time with each character!

By cnt1248 |

I booked this as our arrival day dinner. This trip was for my sister's birthday, and goofy is her favorite character ever! She had on her birthday pin, so even though we didn't request a cake, they still had a little cupcake with a candle for her. We were just going to do it ourselves with something from the buffet. The food was all very good. I've never had better turkey than the 1 at the craving station. It didn't need gravy it was fantastic all alone. We had a little bit of everything, no bad options!! Each character spent a little time at the table and posed for a photo. It was a real treat

Racist experience

By Yamell R |

I took my son here for his 3rd birthday this past Friday since he is a huge Mickey & Friends fan. When we were walked to our table Mickey and friends were on the floor going around tables. My son was so surprised to see them and was so excited. Basically starstruck. One of the servers let me know that the characters will go from table to table so I took my son to sit down. He got up again when he saw another character and I went after him again. When I came back with him to the table I was greeted by 2 security guards who had been called because of my son. I think that was so uncalled for. She tells me it’s not safe to have my son approach the characters and I told her I understood and that’s why I went after him. She continued to tell me that he needs to sit and I told her again this is why I went after him. They then stood right by my table for the remainder of the time. My son is 3, what is expected of a 3 year old?! At no point in time did anyone say kids cannot get up, not by the host, the server. No one kindly approached me and said kids are not allowed to get up, instead they thought it was appropriate to have security called for my sons birthday dinner and stand over the only Hispanic family in the place. This establishment is racist. My son was not causing a ruckus, I went after him if he did get up but he is a child who was excited. They completely ruined the experience. We paid $400 for dinner only to have it ruined. I’m sure if our skin tone were a couple notches lighter it wouldn’t be an issue. Delivery is EVERYTHING! This establishment could’ve handled it better. We are talking about a 3 year old boy.

Slow 🐌 with below average food

By jimsnet |

Reservation was for 7:45 arrived 20 min early. Had to wait till 8:20 for table. Writing this at dinner table now 9:50 still Waiting to finish dinner. Most unbeatable unless you prefer raw meat.

Chef Mickey is not impressive

By Tyrone T |

The experience with the characters was nice. The food was subpar. 66 per adult and 40 per child for buffet grade food is not worthy. Dishes were cold and not special. The waiter overcharged the tip on my credit card. The waiter served water and one one beer and he wanted an 18 percent(40.00) tip. When i didn't leave 18 percent, he still pushed more than what i left. I took a picture of the receipt to prove it. Go for breakfast. It is likely better.

Not as good as before

By BA |

Been here and handful of times. Never really worth the money, but the food is always good and so is the service. It’s a great way to see all the characters. You get a meal in an extremely fun atmosphere. Do a dance every hour or so, and they make sure you see all the characters. The fried potatoes, sausage with onions and peppers, beignets, and cinnamon rolls are standouts. All delicious. Normal breakfast fare was as expected (scrambled eggs, meat, waffles, pancakes). Fruit and cheese selection was nice. Didn’t care for the cheesy potato casserole. They had a cheese sauce so made my own scrambler with meats and potatoes. This is our second time going for brunch. Last time was much better. Feel like there were more dinner options last time, and they used to have an egg casserole that was delicious that I didnt see this time. The desserts had less selection than before. Our service was very lackluster. There were 8 so maybe because she knew she’d be getting a tip regardless. Bad at getting refills and clearing plates. Asked her to take a family picture of us she said in a minute. Never came back. The table beside us overhead and came over and took it for us. We still had a fun time, and enjoyed our meals. Just not worth the price, unless you have young kids who love the characters.

Amazing cast, staff and food!

By Mountain Hikers |

Our family and friends had an AMAZING experience at chef mickeys!!! It was a late dinner so the characters were able to spend some more time with us. This was by far better than any of the theme parks. The smiles from everyone were priceless. Amazing food and staff, also.

Peasant food at Royalty prices.

By shannon f |

Food was horrible. Skipped the desert just to get out of the place and then got $100 added to our check after I’d signed already. A bill for $233 + tip ($267) turned into a $367 draft from my bank bc I used my magicband to pay. Receipt did not show that amount.

Expensive, but worth it

By rjmje |

Plenty of laughs, plenty of character meets, plenty of food. Expensive, but worth it to see the looks on the kids faces when their favourite characters come right up to the table and interact with them - Donald and Goofy get away with more thatn the others. Food was ok, but not the main attraction here. Staff were friendly and quick with any requests

Brilliant!

By Ianbb8 |

Brilliant experience. The first time we have done character dining. Our 4 year old. Loved every minute. The characters came around and spent more than enough time with us. The food was good for a breakfast buffet. We were late arriving due to the monorail but it was fine. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. Would recommend. It’s not cheap but none of the breakfast options at Disney are. It’s for the experience of meeting the famous 5 rather than the food that we went.

Character dining combined with good food

By Jane P |

It’s early in the return to character dining and collecting signatures, so eating at chef mickeys was a good way to see several characters without queuing. We enjoyed the experience overall - there was no shortage of food and no excuse to leave hungry. The characters interacted well with everyone, happily posing for group and individual photographs. I’d agree with other reviews suggesting that the food service was somewhat rushed, we were given no gaps between courses which is my only criticism.

Wait until the buffet is back!

By Getbusyliving |

This review is likely temporary…hopefully. There are still covid protocols in place so no buffet and limited singing and cheering. Those things have always made chef mickeys what it is. The family style service just isn’t worth it. I believe they are going back to normal in early 2023 and I would suggest waiting until then.

Food ok

By momPenwortham |

We booked this experience for our 4 & 6 year old grandchildren. It is set in the centre of apartments with the mono rail running through. Very pretty and clean. Food is a buffet of hot & cold and drinks continuously filled up. Characters walk around, my favourite was Goofy, how he didn’t trip over his massive shoes is a wonder 😀. Kids absolutely loved it.

Buffet! Yum!

By Beth S |

The buffet had a range of food including shrimp & grits to Mickey waffles. Adults begin at 10 years old. Gratuities are added for groups of 6 or more at 18%. It was a good breakfast and we ate enough to call it lunch also. The characters wander around the dining area and are friendly. We were there for 4 days and one visit was enough!

Wonderful breakfast experience !

By sjulia |

My husband and I along with our 35 yr old special needs daughter went to the character breakfast here at Chef Mickey’s. Our daughter loves the characters especially Mickey , however , she has sensory issues along with several other concerns . It’s ironic that she loves this particular character meal as it is definitely very active . When we were brought to a table we knew right away this area was not going to sit well with our daughter. We briefed the hostess on this and she was unbelievably understanding and accommodating . We sat back in the waiting area for a few minutes while the hostess worked on it. She kindly came back and asked me to come and see the table they now had for us. It was perfect ! We brought our daughter to the table which was in a more private area. The room was airy and sunny with a huge very clean window with the sun shining. The breakfast meal was very very good. With a great variety. We loved the family style presentation rather then the old Buffett . I felt safer not being around the Buffett and was able to enjoy my meal with my husband and daughter. I hope the Buffett never comes back. Our waitress was wonderful! The characters were phenomenal and interacted so well with everyone. This meal was absolutely one of our best experiences this visit. Normally in other visits it seemed chaotic. We did not feel that way at all this time. This meal is soooooooo worth it. I cannot say enough good things about the wonderful, perceptive , and kind CMs we had. Thank you !

Love Chef Mickey’s

By Trey A |

Visited on 7/8 for the first time since COVID changes. It’s still a great experience! We actually prefer the family style dining instead of the buffet. We were able to sit and relax while our food was brought to our table. No up and down, waiting in line, or helping little ones get their food. Food was fresh and delicious as always. Character interaction and servers were great as well.

MMBOE... Most Magical Breakfast/Brunch On Earth

By Jimmy C |

Contemporary Resort character breakfast/ bunch is great. For the kids or those adults whom always dreamed (my wifey)… and for all ages (my teenagers) its cool. Good food with great memories. Even the tough guy in me enjoyed a Goofy Selfie. Haha. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they come around to give you a heads up and if you miss a character... they will ensure they come back to visit. Not really about the food... but does provide a good spread of options... and you will get plenty of the disney brand waffles and other goodies. Eggs... bacon...sausage... basic breakfast items with loads of pastries.

Basic Food, Basic Experience, Rushed Service

By tattooedtravelOT |

I may be spoiled as I think Topolinos is amazing and was comparing Chef Mickey's to my experience at Topolino's, but this lacked any real magic. The characters were okay, but the song/dance portion was quick and we only saw two characters during it. The food, it was basic and overwhelming to have a whole table of food in front of you. It would be nice if the first course of bread/yogurt/fruit was brought out a little before the rest of the meal and then cleared from the table so there aren't stacks of food and plates all over. We hardly had room for our drinks. The man that dropped our food off never even told us what any of it was. The worst dishes were the very dry brisket and sausages and hte best was the potato casserole. That being said it was all very basic and nothing to rave about. I know everyone says you aren't paying for the food, its for the experience which is fine, but having food that is hot and an experience that isn't rushed would make this better.

Another great time with Mickey!

By JenJen85254 |

We visit Chef Mickey each time we are in Orlando. Buffet food and most of it is delicious. Carvery station always a hit. The desserts are not my favorite. They look good but no flavor. Got to meet many clubhouse characters!

Down Hill!!

By Lashka |

We eat at Chef Mickey’s for breakfast every time we go to Disney. This was the first time we have eaten there since it changed from buffet to family style. It was HORRIBLE! They brought our first and 2nd round of food out at the same time so we were not able to enjoy the first round ( yogurt, fruit, pastry). The hot food ( sausage, bacon, steak, eggs) was all undercooked and cold and we had to send it all back. The Mickey waffles were soggy and the bottom sides were missing! No one in our party ate. On top of this not all the characters were there today. Our son’s favorite character , Donald, was missing! We complained to management but honestly they did not seem to care. I will not book this breakfast again while it is family style. This used to be our favorite character meal but it has gone so down hill it is absolutely not worth it. Just felt like they were rushing people through, the characters even felt rushed through. Very sad to see the staple at Disney fall apart. Do yourself a favor and book a character meal somewhere else. On a bright note if you do go ask for Lori. She was absolutely incredible and a bright spot in our day!

Family breakfast (Brazilian)

By Denise S |

Good food options and, for our family, the experience was really worth it. I have a 4-year-old son who was enchanted by the characters and this meeting saved us time when visiting the parks. My tip for those who want to "save money" (in quotes because it's not a cheap experience for Brazilians with the current exchange rate) is to schedule coffee for late in the morning and turn it into coffee and lunch. Since there are some American coffee options that become lunch for us. The service could have been better, it was friendly and at Disney I always expect more than that.

Excellent Experience

By Island S |

I keep seeing negative reviews, but this was my (adult) family's favorite meal of the trip. We ate at Space 220, Be Our Guest, etc. Chef Mickey's (late breakfast) atmosphere was absolutely delightful. They brought me out a huge vegan feast like nothing I've seen before. There was more food on the table for 3 people than anything I'd ever seen, but the best part? All food waste at WDW is converted into fuel to help run the rides in the parks. You can look it up, this is true. So don't worry about the reviews mentioning wastefulness. Anyway. The food quality was quick service tier, but everyone thought it was delicious. Especially the vegan mickey waffles and the non-vegan potato casserole. If you go in expecting fine dining, this isn't it, but it's definitely extremely palatable Disney food. I'd recommend everyone go there once, even without children in your party. That's how fun and unique this place is.

Great way to meet the Disney characters

By LozzaaG |

We have eaten at Chef Mickey's on 2 previous times and the food has improved dramatically. It has always been such an amazing experience being able to meet so many characters, but this time, the food was great too. Definitely worth doing, even if it is just to meet the Disney characters. Saves you having to wait in any queues in the parks to see them.

Super fun for little ones!

By Kathleen L |

This was a super fun breakfast experience for my 2 year old! The food was very good, eggs/bacon/waffles and lots of breakfast suites. My daughter loved the celebration pancake. I have celiac disease but was very safely able to eat. The waitress brought me my own plate of donuts/waffle/cookies and even got me some thick paper napkins to take the uneaten cookies with me! The characters were super fun- character dining was modified due to covid but they came about 4 feet from our table, paused for pictures and interacted with my daughter. She LOVED it. I also really liked the idea that the characters had been preparing our food. She enjoyed that. It’s pricey for essentially breakfast buffet, but the food is good and there’s plenty of it. My only complaint is that for the volume of food plates brought out, the table got very crowded very fast.

Worse breakfast ever

By Fivejsmom |

They brought all the food out at the same time it was barely warm No requests Poor quality Maybe for McDonalds it would have been okay but not for the price Service was minimal at best Lots of excuses no apologies for such a poor experience Will not ever go back Save your time and money

over priced - if you can even get in

By Chris L |

recently took our family - party of 5 - to disney. tried to dine here. first was told it books up 60 days in advance - and the staff does not care. finally we found a concierge on the 12th floor that found an opening for us. all to eat breakfast for $350 for a party of 5. food quality was ok but no where near worth that $$. Disney needs to think about their pricing and value . . .

Wonderful Visit and great for Allergies

By Elizabeth N |

Me and the rest of my crew had a wonderful time. Our Cast Member was very informative and happy/bubbly. She also was helpful for me with my allergies as I am Gluten Free. She organised a leaflet with all the allergies in and then ordered me a special Gluten Free platter. We found the food really yummy, got photos with all the characters. Waited about 5mins for a photo with Mickey which I didn’t think was bad :)

An Enjoyable Character Dining Experience

By Gretchen P |

I really enjoyed my experience at Chef Mickey’s. I had not been there before so did not compare it to any previous experience. We were there for the character experience, and they came around many times, were close enough to the tables you could get good pictures and interact with them, and they did some dancing to music. The food was about the quality of a family style restaurant. It was fine, but this is not a place you come for fine dining. The service was good and the servers friendly and polite.

Great service/experience, suspect food

By Michael J. C |

Kids loved it. The staff was super friendly and the characters interactions were amazing. Food tasted fine. I did end up having a stomach ache afterwards and diarrhea that night which wasnt good

Meeting Mickey and friends

By L18SUM |

Our family of two adults, an 8 year old and a 6 year old visited Disney World for two weeks holiday in October. Chef Mickey's is a great way to meet the characters and we loved seeing Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto. It's great fun when they dance and everyone can get up and dance too. We enjoyed the breakfast and there was a good selection. I'm service was great and staff friendly. It's worth a visit to the Contemporary Hotel and trip on the monorail. Enjoy!

We got what we expected - one of the worst meals possible

By Din7648 |

Even as I write this review I know there is no chance anyone from Disney would ever read this and there would be any action. So this review is really purely for the community. Now let me preface by saying my expectations were really low and this place managed to come even below that. Before we went there I looked at all of the recent reviews on this place and the average rating was 2.4 out of some 20 or so reviews. Now I think that’s pretty bad. So don’t go by average lifetime rating - recent rating basically sucks. We still went there as we are not sure if and when we are going to come back to Disney and we thought it would be nice for the kids to have a classic character meal. The place feels completely run down and it doesn’t seem like Disney has done any work to upgrade/ uplift this. That’s one thing that I find shocking about the whole Disney experience - how can they get away with charging $42/ pp for a breakfast buffer and provide such a run-down service, ambience and food. Anyway we were seated on our table and you could just see food crumbs are all over the place. They had basically made no effort to clean the floors from previous meal servings. Given the new format there was no buffet. So the food was dumped quickly on our table - cheddar loaded hash brown, a platter (eggs, waffles, bacon & sausage) & banana bread. Sort of the food you would expect to find at a cheap roadside diner. Finally the characters make an appearances. Due to social distancing they wouldn’t come close to you or the kids. They would spend 10 seconds or so standing behind each table while you take pictures. Anyway given the feedback I had heard I had gone in with the lowest possible expectations and frankly that was the only way we could survive this place.

Another great experience

By snwall |

Another great visit creating wonderful memories with our young grandson. Service was great our juices and coffees were topped up regularly. In our last visit it was country style but has since returned to pre Covid Buffett. We were not disappointed with the choice available at breakfast there was a good selection of pastries breads bagels fruit yoghurt cereals pancakes Mickey waffles and hot buffet. Really enjoyed the corn beef hash, ham and the white egg spinach and peppers scramble. I also had a selection of fruit yoghurt with yogurt and granola. As we were not doing Disney parks this visit this was the ideal option for my grandson to see Mickey and gang.

Worst dining experience at Disney.

By John |

Had a reservation and showed up 10 min early. Wasn’t seated until 35 minutes after the reservation time. The walk up list was showing 40 minutes, so not sure what the point is of the reservation. Food was decent, but no where near what would be expected of a $58 price point. Atmosphere is chaotic and experience is not “nice” to justify cost (plastic dishes, buffet). Service was poor and took 15 min for someone to come by for payment at the end. Characters were good. I have seen people say that it is an experience for kids so complaints aren’t justified. I think this is somewhat true. The experience is for kids, but they do not charge a kids price. I haven’t done any other character meal, but would find it hard to imagine being a worse experience and value than chef mickeys.

Quality of food not equal to price charged

By mjrl66 |

My niece booked Chef Mickey because her 2 kids wanted a character meal while we were here. Only here for a 5 day vacation. Our last night was dinner at Chef Mickey. Since we had a reservation we only waited about 10 minutes past our reservation time. This used to be a buffet but now is served family style to your table. Yes you have the classic characters that go around to each table and a couple of them came over to us twice which was a nice bonus. But the quality of the food did not meet the $59 a person. The vegetables were so hard that her kids couldn’t bite into them. The veggies were barely steamed. I watched children at other tables struggling also. The food selections were salty also. The meat was over cooked too. We were expecting a higher quality meal than what we got. Disappointing.

Best Meal this Last Trip

By ZsaZsa |

Luckily we were able to score a last minute reservation the afternoon before for breakfast. We've been here several times, loved it each time (although once service was a bit lacking). This time was the best ever! We all agreed this was one of, if not THE best meal we had all week at Disney. We also dined at Topolino's, BOG, Flying Fish, Jikos...for reference. We were seated right away, put in the far right back corner. At first I thought they might forget about us, but we were served right away and had the friendliest wait staff. We also had a nice view of the castle! We can never fault the food here, it hits all the boxes for us. I can never get enough of those Mickey waffles (I don't do eggs). And how about those cheesy potatoes? YUM It's such a great variety and it all tastes so good. Everything was hot and fresh. This time around we could get pictures and hug the characters (we were four adults). It was the best character interaction yet (blew Topolino's breakfast away). Donald kept tapping my husband's shoulder from around the corner, teasing him. Then proceeded to give my BIL a hard time over various things. We got some fun pictures and just had a great time. I had to scold Mickey for stepping on my toes (have you seen his big feet? LOL). Lots of laughs at our table. I hope they never bring back the buffet. We love the family style.........it's so relaxing.

Delicious food but not so great service

By only1annabel |

The food was really good and we got to meet Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy & Pluto. The buffet is kept topped up and they don’t seem to run out. The only downside was they ran late with our booking and we were seated 25mins late. This meant we felt a little rushed as it was the end of service. Our server wasn’t overly present either to top up drinks etc.

Not worth it!

By Jet631942 |

Upon arriving we waited a few minutes and our table was ready. We sat and our waiter Todd was okay until he got weird. He wanted us to say please and thank you for every request and wouldn't move if it wasn't said. We are a family with manners but my son forgot to say please to his refill as any child would forget mannerism and he just made it weird for us. Dont know what was his deal. Characters were great and came around a few times to our table. Food was blah! Im not sure if it was because we went for breakfast and breakfast has a small variety but it was very limited variety and it tasted like complimentary hotel breakfast. Nothing special! Honestly with this weird waiter and blah food experience I wouldn't go again. Oh and prepare to spend some coins…Our family of 5 (2 adults 3 children) we spent over $300!

Good, fun and expensive

By Virgil H |

The serve a very hearty, family style breakfast. The characters come out for pictures, but you have to stay 6 feet away. Still fun.

In the end it was worth it, after complaining

By federico k |

Very expensive as a buffet. $66.00 and $43.00 plus tax plus 15 tip. The food really leaves a lot to be desired. Fruit. Of the 4 fruits, 3 were green. Scrambled egg, small pancakes, small Mickey-shaped waffles, the bacon is thrown frozen to fry. So they sign plastas. We never knew what the juice was. Good coffee, good sweet bread. The character show was very short. They argued that they were very tired because we were the last group. To which I told the manager that my 65.00 was worth the same as the first group. And after the complaint they passed by again and so the girls were able to see them a little more and they even went for a walk hand in hand. So it was worth it, because at Disney you can't see the characters like before. You only see them at the parade. Or in paid events. If you see a character in the park, they don't let you get close to them.

Underwhelming and Rushed!!!

By James R |

We were so looking foward to this but to be honest we felt completely underwhelmed! The food was ok and plentiful but even though we knew there would be social distancing from the characters (the main reason most people would make a reservation) it all seemed extremely rushed, and not at all personable! Unlike the parks and even parades whereby they seem to have the magic making the experience unique; here, the characters rush around the tables, miss kids out and go back behind the scenes again. If you're lucky you might get an odd good photo out the many plurred ones as those playing Mickey and Friends just don't give you the time and rush onto the next family which is a real shame! For the 3 of us, we spent c. $150 incl. tip which we wouldn't have minded if a little more attention was paid. I would not recommend, certainly while restrictions are still in place.

Breakfast was ok, skip the birthday cake.

By TinaMarie5 |

The character experience was wonderful for my grandson. However we purchased a birthday cake the was not edible. I can’t even explain what it taste like. Plastic wet sponge, charging 39.00 for something we could not even consume. I was surprised that the waiter didn’t ask why we didn’t take it in a box. My son in law felt bad and told the waiter we didn’t feel like carrying it because we were going into the parks. We ate nothing from that cake it was gross.

Fun For Kids

By bglhvn |

We got lucky and were able to make a same day dinner reservation just when another party cancelled. It's fun for kids who want to see some Disney characters while they eat. The dinner buffet had some decent food and a lot that wasn't, so it isn't worth $62 unless the photo opportunities are a must for your family. Note, the photos with Mickey are taken after you've eaten and paid. Our Disney app. didn't even include our Mickey photos so it's a good thing that isn't why we ate there--it was conveniently located inside our hotel.

Poor Service - Decent Food - Charming Characters - Not Recommended

By josebenjamin |

Back in 2019, my family and I had a wonderful character breakfast at Chef Mickey's. Our memories were so good that we decided to try it again. Unfortunately the experience this time was not good. The souring of our breakfast started at the check-in podium. We arrived just on time and informed the hostess that we were ready. She looked at my name on her tablet, and very sternly ordered me to check-in using the App, something I have not done before. BTW, I am very much a "novice" using a mobile phone. In all the rest of our meals at WDW, we just informed the host/hostess that we were present, answered a couple of questions, and told us they will text us when the table was ready. At Chef Mickey's the hostess refused to do anything else besides telling me to use the App. So there and then I had to learn how to do such thing. I must say that was not the a good start to our meal. From the very beginning we knew this breakfast was an "all you can eat" proposition. But we did not expect what this meant at Chef Mickey's. The waitress brought all the food at once !!!!!, and our table ended up overflowing with glasses, plates and food. In other similar meals at WDW, the sequence was different, our food was brought in steps to the table and therefore we had time and opportunity to enjoy it before it got cold or old. The final "touches" of the bad service we received were that the waitress forgot to bring our B'day celebration buttons and cakes to the table. We were leaving when she rushed them to the table. In all a really bad, almost disastrous service performance by the hostess and the waitress. This was the worst service we received during our week long stay at Disney. In spite of the bad service, we found the character interactions most charming. We enjoyed all of them, took lots of photos and received many hugs. These somehow improved the otherwise poor experience. I am very hesitant to recommend Chef Mickey's at the present. The systems and service in place badly damaged our breakfast. BTW, there are other better experiences currently offered. We had a wonderful times at Tusker House, Topolino's and Artist Point, all with better service and gentler check-ins.

5 stars for the server

By itaca67 |

Interesting place with all the main chat from Disney. The server was amazing and I give him 5 stars. Food was ordinary not great, but a good selection. We were missing two people from our party because my niece was sick, so my wife decided to surprise her with pictures of the characters. To her surprise and shock one of the workers confronted her with a not so agreeable attitude to stop ‘harassing ‘ the characters who were very understanding and willing. Not sure I will be back.

Pleasantly surprised

By TheLegendP |

We were a little sceptical about Chef Mickeys after various reviews, but from our experience we really enjoyed it. The food was much better than anticipated. We thought it was just going to be Mickey waffles etc but there was lots more choices for adults. I particularly enjoyed the potato wedges with cheese sauce, and also the spicy sausage (with peppers etc) and found some wraps to make myself a wrap. Also the cinnamon pudding was very nice. Character meets as expected, but food was better than anticipated. We actually visited again 10 days later because of that reason. Will visit again in the future - may try dinner next time for a change.

High price.. low quality

By Randy M |

Located within the Disney (FL) Resorts. Reservations needed ( sounds good and popular). Misread that it is a buffet. Still went forth anticipating it must be very good. Now at a whopping $66.00 a person, my wife chose a faux cocktail in a Rocks Glass) for $12.00. I got a beer...I think was $9.00. The food itself for next to very BAD and I tried just about all of it. Even the peel and eat shrimp were bland. But, it is all you can eat. So, that's what draws the crowd. Sorry, Mickey...but ThUMBS DOWN!

Okay, would not visit again

By H Cherry |

I want to give this a lower rating but my husband and I are compromising. My issue is with the family style meal. There was too much food that was (in our case at least) wasted. I do not understand WHY this cannot be a buffet where we can pick and choose. Only in the U.S. can we waste food in the manner that we do. All of the characters visited and had fun with the adults and kids. I have some great pictures - they hit the mark here, but at what expense?

Chef Mickey doesn't like Vegetables

By Jamie M |

Felt sick afterwards, no Vegetables on offer, everyone in such a rush I didn't get a chance to ask for Vegetables. Good luck on the toilet afterwards, take a newspaper.

Go for the kids and experience, food is OK

By Winter G |

The positives are the experience and joy on your kids faces! Seeing the monorail go by in the background, dancing with goofy and hugging the characters. It is a cute time! That’s why you go. We went for breakfast and they had everything from cereal to biscuits and gravy to fresh made omelettes to fruit. Remember it’s a buffet and it’s ok…so just set your expectations accordingly. The food is edible for sure and decent but nothing spectacular.

Celebration at Chef Mickey

By Nikki R |

Breakfast with Chef Mickey was delicious and so much fun. I definitely recommend attending Chef Mickey in Orlando without your kids! They will get their turn later. The characters came out like back to back so deciding between eating or engaging might be a challenge, but the experience is lovely for all ages. The buffet had a great variety and food was presented well.

Very rushed, worried we would miss the characters while we got food.

By Alison G |

This was not my favorite character meal. Unfortunately for the price (especially for a party of 7), the characters were so rushed!! When our waiter came they said to go enjoy the buffet, but when looking back to our seats, several characters were in our section skipping our table, so Im not sure why we were told to go eat. It just produced this anxious experience for me to have anyone leave to go get food and miss anyone. One time my daughter went to get seconds and missed Donald. But I asked if he could come back in a minute and I guess it was a no because he never stopped back. Also my little one cried when goofy got to our table so he signed our book and left, even though my other 2 wanted a photo with him, he was like Im out. I told our waiter the 2 that we never got to meet because we were gone and it seemed very inconvenient that they had to stop back to our table and took a long time, like we were done eating. Maybe they were hoping we would just leave. Food was fine, nothing special but not bad, but that's not the reason people go here. I personally would meet them at the parks, you get a way more personal experience and more time with them or go to a meal that you are waited on and don't have to leave for a buffet.

Cold food, no more buffet and expensive

By Joel P |

I am a DVC member and long time patron. I am extremely disappointed Disney got rid of the breakfast buffet (and didn’t reduce the price accordingly). The breakfast buffet was my favorite. Now you get served cold food “family style”. Very disappointed

Worse than a Carnival Cruise Buffet

By margee h |

Food was worse than a cruise buffet. The venue hasn’t been renovated since the 90s. They rush you in and out. I am all for a fun family dining experience but they could have put more thought into the dinner. My kids loved the dessert buffet.

Great for younger kids!

By Dana G |

If you're traveling with young kids, brunch at Chef Mickey's is a must! Our favorite little one met Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Pluto throughout the meal and it was a great introduction to the Magic Kingdom. The buffet had a nice variety and the wait staff was really great! The monorail into the park was very convenient to the restaurant, so that made things very easy! It's definitely pricey, but it was worth every penny for us!

Bad experience

By Debora Z |

We just had an awful experience at Chef Mickey's. What was supposed to be a magical moment celebrating my daughter's birthday was awful. Our desk was 30 minutes late even after arriving ahead of schedule. The employees are rigid and the characters run around that didn't even give time to take a right photo. I asked Pluto to get a little back because half of his body was being cut off by the table and he made a signal that I should get back. We took pictures of the children and when we were going to take out the whole family and he said goodbye, turned his back and walked out. We bought a birthday cake that wasn’t cheap at all ($40) and the attendees were screaming with us all the time that we couldn’t take a picture of Mickey showing up the cake. We couldn’t even sing congratulations to my daughter while he was at our table (he was serving other tables and still we couldn’t sing at that moment), even when we said he would not participate in the congratulations. And they stayed around him all the time to make sure that none of the pictures we were making of my daughter with her cake showed any of the characters. A embarrassing situation. My daughter wanted to give a last hug before Mickey walked out of our desk and the staff held him close, she was disappointed and even cried saying that Mickey was ignoring her. The attendant was passing by the table all the time asking if we were ready to pay the bill, as if she wanted us to leave soon. Our account gave us $280 with cake and slice on a table for 2 adults and 2 children and for the high amount paid I am disappointed and do not recommend this experience to anyone.

A good visit ruined by the front desk.

By James |

Visited chef Mickey as part of our visit to Disneyland FL. Fairly highly rated and reviewed quite well. Would like to say the food and serving staff were very pleasant. George & Jordan looked after us once seated and were more than we could have asked for. Characters were great sports as you’d expect and the buffet was easy to navigate and well presented. The front desk by contrast was rude and highly inefficient. Booking was for 7pm. This was pushed back on arrival to 7:45pm. Ignored and no acknowledgement. Had been advised it was due to it being very busy. However could watch staff chatting away, multiple tables left uncleared and lack of organisation by the management team. It muddied what could have been a good meal as it was off to terrible start. Had it not been for the friendliness of George & Jordan I’m sure this review would have read worse.

Characters are fun, food sounds better than it tastes

By Stardust86 |

My 4-year old loves meeting Disney characters, so we thought this would be a fun final breakfast in Florida before we headed home. But in retrospect, I would skip it. We had a 12:20 reservation - made months in advance. Showed up about 20 mins early, and checked in. They couldn't seat us early - which is fine, we were early. But then they couldn't even seat us at our reservation time - wound up being about 30 mins after our reservation that we finally got seated, so all told we waited almost an hour.. The food was not what I expected having looked at the menu on Disney's website. They advertise as having a carving station and brisket - the ham was ok, but the "brisket" tasted like steakums....frankly, it was gross. The scrambled eggs were runny, the sausage gravy was inedible. I just honestly expected more and better options. That said, as a character experience - its kind of fun. They had quite a few characters - Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto. But multiple times the characters got almost to our table, and then just left the room with out stopping at us. At the end of the meal we had to have the waitress bring two of them back because my little one hadn't gotten a chance to meet them yet. We also didn't get drink refills the whole breakfast.

AVOID at all costs, poor food quality food poisioning

By ryfall2022 |

Just eaten at chef mickeys me and my whole family (7 of us) have gastric issues after, spoke to guest experience team and they didn’t want to know and no real concern about the quality of the food or would they follow up and let us speak to anyone at the resturant. Disney has lost its magic and lack of care for their guests. Will not be rebooking and would recommend all avoid and book elsewhere.

DISAPPOINTED

By Ann G |

We had a large group of 14 so you can only imagine our bill at the end of this meal. Please beware…. The food is just plain awful. Our children ate very little and the adults couldn’t find much they liked. The prime rib was okay as was the salmon but the rest of the meal was inedible. The salads tasted old and soggy. I wondered if they were left overs from the night before. We had six children with us who were very excited about seeing the characters. The characters ran by waving good bye before they even stopped to pose for a picture. No dancing, no performance just nothing special. If Covid has caused this format to be so drastically different from years past you might consider dropping the price to a Covid bargain dinner price or just not having it at all. I have honestly never been more disappointed and would not recommend this dinner to anyone. Total rip off!!

Stuck in the corner

By NJ2KY |

I paid $545.00 for 9 people on Sept.14th and had requested main dining room when we booked and then when we went to check in, I mentioned it again... and they stuck us in a corner and the 3 children could not see ANYTHING!!! We were celebrating my husband's retirement and I'm not rich and scraped and saved for this trip! The food was decent, but the experience was not worth it for us as the kids could not see the characters and that is the whole reason, I paid this price as you know kids don't eat! So upset that my requests were ignored!!!

A must for children

By lorim585 |

This is such a little hidden gem. It’s in the contemporary hotel and the decor is not as Disney as one would think but it’s just a great experience for children. There is a variety of food and drink and when the characters come out it is truly a unique experience. The characters come to each table and welcome hugs and pictures. It truly was a highlight of our trip. The kids were just in awe. I would highly recommend. The service was very good too

Experience Mickey and his friends

By John D |

The point of this meal isn’t to get the best restaurant at the best price. If you are willing to except the fact that you are paying for the “experience” of eating at a restaurant where you get a change to meet Mickey and his friends and take a few pictures with them, then you will thoroughly enjoy this meal. You can meet 5 characters in a climate controlled setting while you eat. It beats waiting 45 minutes in a line to meet a character or two inside one of the Disney Parks. So, it does save time if not money. The meal is expensive but the food is actually very good. It is one of the better breakfasts we have had. All the food is well prepared and very tasty. It is delicious. The kids enjoyed it thoroughly.

Get to hang with Mickey and pals but be prepared to drop some SERIOUS coin

By Ronan M |

The food is mediocre, at best. Think tough as shoe leather beef, orange chicken, salad bar, pasta dishes, boring deserts, etc. The food is not "bad" just the usual non descript buffet fair. Mickey, Goofy, Pluto, Donald and pals roam the restaurant and will take photos with kids and adults alike, the kids definitely enjoyed this. On the way out you get a photo opportunity with Minnie, the pro photo will cost you, we took our own. Here's the real sting in the tail the above costs an eye watering $39 for under 10's and $62 per adult, BEFORE tax, tip and any drinks that you may want. So for 2 adults, 2 kids and one Kentucky mule adult drink, we left with a hole in our pocket to the tune of an absolutely ridiculous $275. THIS IS A CRAZY AMOUNT

Super neat experience and food was good

By hjenni00 |

Food was great but the atmosphere was made it so spectacular. Even though I was with preteens and teens, the excitement they had and the other smaller children mafw your heart smile. If you have to pick just one character dinning meal, I'd suggest this one. The food was great and you won't leave hungry!

Awful changes made here.

By William M |

We have been to Chef Mickey's on our previous 5 visits to WDW. Unbeknownst to us it's family style rather than a buffet. It was lousy. The food was unexciting AND you had no say in what they delivered. I felt bad for the server, as it was clear she was trying to put a positive spin on a lousy product overall. We will never go back.

Classic Disney Character Dining Experience

By TheAndrewF |

We'd avoided Chef Mickey's on previous Disney World trips as word of mouth had been mixed, but we had a free evening on our latest visit and decided it might be fun. It's situated in the middle of the cavernous main building of Disney's Contemporary Resort, which does lend the large space it covers a somewhat busy atmosphere, but the restaurant is broken off into sections with a central serving area for its buffet-style menu, which helps. I'm not typically a huge fan of buffet restaurants, but the food was pretty decent as these things go, with a wide variety of options to suit all tastes - a cheese and bacon soup and the butter chicken were both hits. We had very friendly service, and our server was not only able to get us that Disney staple POG Juice (included in the price), she was straight back with a fresh supply when she noticed we were running low. The real draw and the reason for the fairly high price is, of course, the characters. This is the classic Disney character dining experience, with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto (all in kitchen attire) come round to meet patrons, pose for photographs etc. We were initially concerned it might be a little hectic and difficult to catch everyone what with going back and forth to the buffet, but it was all very well organised, and a Cast Member even came round to check we'd seen everyone. As this was our first night in WDW, it was a nice way to kick off our holiday. Chef Mickey's might not be to everyone's tastes, but I'm glad we went - there's something for (nearly) everyone here. Kids will love it, obviously, but they go out of their way to ensure young and old can have a great time.

So disappointed didn’t live up to expectations

By Alan |

For what you get it’s very very expensive Ok the usual characters come and join you for a quick picture. Sam our server was superb however the food didn’t live up to expectation. For a busy buffet to run out of turkey when it’s only one of two meats available really isn’t acceptable. When asked if more coming the chef just shrugged his shoulders and said maybe in 15 minutes. One of the few restaurants that didn’t provide fries for children!! Very limited gf options!!!! This restaurant is situated in the Disney Contemporary Hotel and I can’t for one minute believe it had no cooked Turkey !!!! Thanks Mickey but won’t be back

There Are Much Better Disney Experience Dinner than This One

By Howard G |

We went to a number of the Disney experience dinners. They are something special for everyone, especially the children. Children met Disney characters at this restaurant, but the decor and food quality was disappointing. I recommend spending your money at the other Disney experience restaurants. They outclass this one by far.

Overpriced non tasting cold slop with equal measures of cold service

By paul c |

Cold cold cold take a jumper not sure what you can do about the cold food though. Characters do their best in what is (you guessed it) a cold atmosphere. Overall poor experience with overpriced slop try the cafe next door instead.

Booked for chef Mickey

By Tracy Clutterham |

Lovely place breakfast with chef Mickey and Donald Duck and chef Goofy and Minnie Mouse and and Pluto

Lousy service and food

By rose2864 |

Service was lousy and verryyyy slow. Our hostess served another 2 tables first who checked in after us. Food was served in piecemeals like for 2-3 people. Other 3 people will have to “beg” to be served food in the next round.

Good to have the characters back!

By Robin D |

We ate breakfast at Chef Mickeys and while it was good, I miss the buffet. The kids loved the characters visiting the tables and getting photos and hugs! The service is always good and it is cool having the Monorail right above, too! Chef Mickeys is always a must do when you're visiting WDW!

You Haters

By gradyb |

The restaurant is great. Great food, great service, and great atmosphere. The characters are great as well. The food is very artistic. It is also great for all ages of kids. You people need to stop hating on the best restaurant in Disney.

Bring back the buffet!

By hmw589 |

Did opt to dine here even after having read some of the shocking reviews on TA. Am also on a couple of facebook groups who did recommend this place highly. I think if we'd not have dined here pre-pandemic (when it was a buffet and when the characters did their 'celebration' mini parade with the kids) we'd not have known any difference and would have loved it. However we do have that comparison and 'family style' is sadly just not for us as we are fairly picky eaters. Character interactions though were as brilliant as ever and they came round to tables for photos, hugs and autographs every few minutes on rotation. Cast members were kind and helped with what more foods we did want and even offered to help accommodate our pickiness. If it returns to buffet we will definitely return :)

Grouchy smile less servers!! Bad food and bad vibes !!!

By General Bakes |

I rarely take the time to right a review now a days because there usually is no accountability.. That being said I was disappointed in my trip to chef Mickeys. It was my son's birthday and my sister in laws as well. I took my whole family here. The characters were great but you can not approach them. None of them took adequate time to even get any good photos. As we all know kids are not always easy and need time for posing sometimes. Maybe we got 20 seconds tops to get them from there chairs and snap a pic.. the worst of it was there was know smiles by the staff at all. I asked if they had olives for the salad and they looked at me like I had 5 heads. None of them were smiling and they all had on there resting @#$$@ face. Was definitely not the Disney vibe and I truly believe Walt would be disappointed. Also the bathroom smelt like a thousand you know whats!!!!! (Rhymes with glasses ) The food was average and they would not allow a bday cake. They put our dessert down on a dirty table as well. We also had to use our forks to stir our coffee. For the price!!! $500 for 5 adults and 2 kids is not justified when your slinging slop all around... your distant characters will only take you to far !! Truly was disappointed....

Excellent character interaction

By EasyE27 |

Great character meal. Kids loved seeing the characters and getting autographs. Breakfast was solid. Everything was hot and tasted great. It’s expensive-but was a bucket list experience and I am glad we did it.

Great experience w the characters!

By Diane M |

This was a great morning for our granddaughter! She had a smile the whole time ! The characters come over to your table for a greeting and a picture. the buffet is decent, it’s kept filled and it moves along. The waitress was awesome filling up our coffee and juices continuously.

Terrible food and experience

By SHMH85 |

Poor food quality and ambience. The kids loved the characters however the experience was chaotic, disorganized and the food was much lower quality than other experiences at the same price. Highly disappointed. For the same cost, you could go to 1900 Park Fare in Grand Floridian and have a much better and elevated experience.

Chef mickey breakfast delight

By maccu50 |

This was a long awaited visit to Chef Mickeys After visiting Florida for more than 20 years it’s the one we never managed to do We were not disappointed Staff and characters were so amazing Food was great - fresh omelette station and a fresh pancake stop Everything from blueberry muffins to fresh salmon Worth a visit Down side it is $60 pp

Why All The Hate

By Fred |

I came for the characters but was surprised by how good the food was. It seems like the consensus in the reviews is that the food here isn’t great. I even had a cast member tell me you don’t go to Chef Mickey’s for the food. So maybe I went in with low expectations and that’s why I was pleasantly surprised. But let’s be real, it’s a buffet people what do you really expect. And for a buffet I thought the food was great. Also, if you want to meet different characters this really is your best option. I’d rather meet multiple characters over a meal than waste time standing in a long line in the Florida heat inside a park. I would come back and the food isn’t bad like some of the reviews might say. It’s a buffet people.

Family friendly

By irishwhiskey135 |

We had reservations for 5 PM on a Saturday with a split table for 12. They were able to accommodate our tables being together. Our waiter was friendly and helpful and delivered all our food from the counters to the table it is not a buffet style. The Chef came to our table to take care of anyone with any allergies and they would make special food for them. The characters would come out one at a time and come close to the tables but would not interact directly. You could take as many pictures as needed. They served four different kinds of salads, salmon, turkey, and prime rib by the slice. It’s all one menu and every table gets the same amount of servings. You can ask for as much as you want with no limit. They bring over desserts on a tray. Our group had an enjoyable dinner and enjoyed the characters the kids were very excited.

Not a location for a kid's birthday

By Alan M |

I'm not going to discuss the food quality. I'm not going to discuss the service (or lack thereof). Instead, I'd like to tell you about my son, who turned 10 today. My beautiful happy little boy who when given the choice of anywhere to have his birthday dinner, chose Chef Mickey's. If I had taken him to Eat 'n Park the waitress would have at least taken the time to sing happy birthday with him. At Chef Mickey's, he had a cupcake with a candle thrown in front of him and off she ran. The poor kid looked hurt and confused until his mom and I quickly recovered and sang to him with his brother. Goofy noticed the sad situation near the end and tried a saving grace of conducting. I don't care about myself and my money. The look on my son's face when he realized they didn't care one bit about his birthday will haunt me, though. Find somewhere else for your child's birthday celebration. This was atrocious.

Chef Mickey’s- A Hit!

By cindy5622022 |

From check in to leaving, they have it figured out and running like a well-oiled machine. Very organized. When your party sits down they will bring carafes of mango orange juice for everyone and pots of coffee with cream and sugars, right away. Then you can go grab your plate and hit the buffet. When you come back they will take specific drink orders. The entire time you are in the restaurant all the characters are coming and going and dancing. They will all stop at your table for photos. The buffet has over 70 choices and I found it to be excellent. The cheesy grits were my favorite. It was a very pleasant experience

Probably won’t go back in future visits

By 4477RA |

Better options at Disney. The character interaction I thought was great! The food on your hand wasn’t anything special and definitely not worth the price. The buffet was overcrowded kind of annoying. Nothing stood out. The eggs were terrible. Best thing to get was the Mickey waffles that pretty much taste like Mickey waffles that are all over Disney property And also the beignets were decent. Other than that there are butter character meals. The food is much better at Cape May. Garden Grill , Tusker house.

Total happiness for the little ones in the family!

By APGR |

For children it is an unforgettable experience since they are with their favorite characters for them and they can have their autographs without waiting in long lines like in the parks. It's worth it for the experience they will take away!

We love Chef Mickeys

By Amber Lynn |

Chef Mickeys is always a hit with our kids! We love their breakfast but this time we did their dinner buffet. It was really good. I have a gluten allergy and they have plenty of options for me. The kids love the characters and everyone comes around to the table and takes pictures and signs autographs. The smile on their face is worth the price lol. The staff is always friendly and welcoming too.

Poor compared to other visits

By Nicholas Hart |

We have always loved chef mickey and on waiting to go again post covid we couldnt wait but it was a real disapppontment. Food was cold and tasteless with a poor selection and poor quality. Bring back the buffet which was always wonderful and until then we would not reccommend. Characters were interactive but it was over priced for the food even with this.

Excellent

By Lou M |

Excellent family friendly experience. Very good food and service. Unique character meet. Nice atmosphere and good location.

I loved the experience

By Janaina S |

I liked the experience very much, ate very well and had the opportunity to take photos with all the characters, some more friendly and others not so much!! I loved..

Go only for the characters

By Ecmancini |

Overall, it's a disappointment. I was excited about the breakfast buffet, but although there was a good variety, ,most of the food was mediocre. I know it's all about the character meet-and-greet and that was okay.

My children LOVED it!!

By Ashley M. |

Amazing for families!! The characters were amazing and so friendly! They took as many pictures as I wanted and the buffet was really good! Very filling though. The mickey cocktail (Non alcoholic) was sweet but was good, get water if your diabetic instead of the juice!

Dinner recommended

By Donna B |

We have always loved Chef Mickeys but there have been a lot of negative reviews lately. We decided to keep our reservations, especially after character interaction is back. It was a great way to start off our Disney vaca and birthday celebration. The food was actually very tasty and I like family style. The service was good as well. The character interaction didn’t feel rushed and we got great photos. They don’t do the fun dancing and napkin twirling of years past but it’s still worth a trip.

Expensive, but a great experience

By BellamyO |

The visit alone to the hotel is impressive. A beautiful hotel with several shops. The restaurant presents a buffet with many choices. Visiting the different characters is a great experience and the general atmosphere is pleasant. Allow a voucher of $200 CAD for a dinner for 2 adults/2 children.

Great Food

By Josh C |

The food here was fantastic! The buffet style made it great to get as much food as possible before going to the parks. Meeting the characters while eating made the kids and I so excited!

Great Food, Character Interaction, and Service

By Foodie123 |

I was hesitant to try Chris Mickey’s after reading some of the reviews, but opted to give it a try since we were staying in the Contemporary and it was convenient. I am so glad we ate at Chef Mickey’s because it was excellent. The food, service, and characters could not have been any better. 10/10 recommend. The staff and characters were great with my son. He had a blast meeting all his favorite characters. All 5 characters took up lots of time with us at our table. As mentioned earlier, the quality of the food was a pleasant surprise. We went in not expecting much, but were blown away by how good the food was. We ate dinner at Chef Mickey’s and will 100% go back when we are in town.

Character dinner on July 4th

By Tom K |

We actually we able to book this family style dinner on July 4th. This my first time back here in 20 plus years when it was a buffet. For starters you had 3 different salads. Cesar was my favorite. Then you're served family style with Salmon, Turkey and prime rib. All were amazing, Salmon was my favorite due to the mustard crust. Sides were potatoes, green beans and rice. For dessert they had apple tarts, strawberry mini cakes and chocolate domes. My kids also said they had the best strawberry smoothies. Expensive due to your paying for the big 5 characters. The character interaction was amazing and so was the service.

Chef Mickey's breakfast treat

By ScottishGuy65 |

We visited here the first full day in WDW. We always try and do at least one character dining, brings out the big kid in us. This time though we had our grandson with us so we had a great excuse. The food was good and lots of it. The cast members were very attentive and very friendly. Just what we have come to expect from character dining. The characters were really good and very entertaining, its amazing how much you can get from hand gestures and charade type interactions. I felt this was very good value for money as it was a buffet with a huge selection. I wished I had a bigger apetite as there was so many great looking foods on offer. I try to sample rather than take a big plate of just a few things. Bacon, sausage, egg are all good. I tried the biscuits and gravy for the first time and it was worth a try. I prefer my scones sweet and with butter, jam and clotted cream lol. The portions that are cut by the chefs are good also, I got two large cuts of ham and two large cuts of beef, more than enough for me. When we were finished we were able to get a photo with Chef Mickey himself, another great memory to add the the bank. I would certainly want to do this dining experience again. Hopefully in a couple of years. If you are visiting give it a try but remember to book in advance as I don't think you can walk up for a table, unless you are happy to wait a while when its busy.

Great food and great service

By kayfairfax |

Wonderful experience. The atmosphere was energetic. We were just a group of adults but the characters still stopped by! The service was friendly and efficient; especially with plate clearing. A shout out to a fantastic hostess, Alex, and our server. The star of the evening was the food. I was shocked by this since it was a buffet. But, the salmon was prepared perfectly and I watched as items were taken off the line when there too long. It was kept well stocked even though we arrived very close to closing. The food was very very good.

Come here for the character experience, not the food

By Graceykc |

My husband 4yo, 2yo, mom and I had breakfast here. The breakfast is ok. It's your standard breakfast fare. I will say that my husband and I really enjoyed the Mickey waffles though. We knew the food wouldn't be spectacular, but we came here for the character experience. Our kids LOVED meeting Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto. We loved it because we didn't have to stand in line to meet any characters. They come right to your table. We always do character dining when we come to Disney World and will continue to do so in the future even though the food isn't great. We're paying for the characters.

A dinner that made us happy and walk away with a buzz!

By KJ |

We visited here for dinner and was treated to a large, tasty array of dishes which ranged from Chinese food, to classic American affaire, with carved meats, and mini desserts including cupcakes, soft serve, and cheesecake. Everything we had was very tasty, had lots of flavour, was good quality and cooked to a good standard. This is a very good choice for families, adults that want to unleash their inner child, and Disney lovers! Advance reservations are recommended but we managed to join the walk on list, on the day. When meeting the characters, we had sufficient time to pose for some nice photographs and have a nice little interaction however they didn’t frequently return to the table. Once you were seen by a character, that was it, you didn’t see them again and have anymore interaction. Our waiter did his job mostly well however we did feel rushed when he placed the bill on our table before we even had dessert. He also seemed quite desperate for us to leave because our next drink came in a takeaway cup. The establishment was clean, tidy, the staff were attentive with our waiter quickly clearing empty plates and refilling our drinks and the food was very good. We definitely walked away feeling happier than when we walked in. This review would be 5/5 if our waiter rushed us less and we had more interactions with the characters but with that said, we will return again in the future and would recommend.

Chef Mickey’s for the win

By Colleen C |

Visited Chef Mickey’s for dinner on Aug 3rd with both my pre-teen and teenage daughters. Great selection of food, which is brought directly to your table in an ‘all you care to eat’ style vs traditional buffet. Characters were fun and engaging. We loved it and will be back!

Waste of money

By Jessicamoo |

We had to wait 37 minutes for a table, despite having booked 60 days in advance. The food was honestly pretty awful, they did have a selection of fruit that my son loved though. My sons loved meeting the characters, and they came around promptly. However, we felt very rushed off. I have two autistic children and it’s very difficult to get my youngest to eat anything, by the time he was willing to eat we were needing to leave. Please do not waste your money here, you can meet all these characters in the park for a similar wait time. I have actually now cancelled a similar meal we had booked for tomorrow because it was such a bad experience. If you want a character meal I do really recommend Cinderella Castle, the food was delicious and setting is wonderful.

Enough options to make it a nice meal

By Elizabeth G |

While not all the food was great, they bring you so many choices that we were able to make a great meal out of it (loved the vegan salad, collard greens and beef! Rest of it wasn’t as god in our opinion) I don’t love the kids meals, wish they had asked us as parents what from that selection we would have wanted presented to our kid before bringing it ALL out. (mini corn dogs, nuggets, Mac n cheese and undercooked broccoli) - would have rather given him food from the adult plates. The characters came around for hugs and pictures. Felt a little rushed and chaotic, we weren’t there during peak time either. Service was excellent. Cost is high but that wasn’t a surprise. Likely won’t do it again but happy to have had the experience.

Dinner with the characters

By André Spínola |

The buffet is only reasonable, but the experience of having the official characters interacting at the tables is amazing. In addition, it is inside an amazing hotel, where the Disney Internal Train passes through it.

Tasteless

By LouLou |

Most of the food was dried out. Had a premade omelet and it was tasteless. Fruit was tasteless. Coffee was weak and basically tasteless. Service was great! But was not worth the cost or effort to get there. We have been to other character breakfast and the food at Contemporary was definitely the worst of all. The time with characters was good and we had enough time with each one. However, if food is important, choose another venue!

Great breakfast

By Danielle M |

We had a mishap at check in and weren’t sat for 45 minutes past our reservation time. Mary the manager went above and beyond to make our experience incredible. She sat us herself and got us our drinks. She checked in many times during our visit and made sure everything was perfect. The whole crew was fantastic and the food delicious! We will certainly be back!

Great character meal!

By Tammy A |

We enjoyed Chef Mickeys. Lots of variety. Fresh food. The characters were interactive too. The drinks stayed refilled. My only complaint is there were no bowls for the ice cream. We had to use plates 😀

Unrivalled Food and Experience

By Paul H |

Food is 10/10. Have as much as you like. Atmosphere is 10/10. Meet all the characters with no rush and they come and check you've met them all. Tim took care of us, he was superb, 11/10 and if for some reason everything else hadn't already been perfect he would have made up for it, but he and everything else was perfect. Best part of my holiday so far. Must do!

We knew what to expect

By bcaha |

There were a lot of options for breakfast and the character interactions were good. I appreciated that someone came around to make sure we had seen each of the characters.

Over rated

By Safari591626 |

Please don’t waste your time and money. The food was awful. Not one thing was good .We spent big bucks to eat crappie food .Trust me on this ….

Terrible waste of money

By Deborah H |

All the food was ice cold. The carrots were raw. The beef was hammered. The server acted like someone had shoved a uniform in his hands five minutes before. By the time we could complain it was too late to remedy. We were tired, hungry and frustrated. Manager gave me a $35 credit. Wow! Only spent $200 plus for three people to NOT eat the food. We will never come here again. Disney has become an overpriced rip off and the company could care less if the guest is unhappy. Happiest place on earth my rear end.

New Chef Mickeys

By sdbehrens |

Chef Mickeys is not a buffet anymore. It is a family style dinner served at your table. The food is very gluten friendly and a good variety. The desserts were the best but sadly no gluten free options. Plenty of chances to see Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy and Donald (no Daisy though). Pretty pricey for a family of four but worth it to splurge every once and a while. Don’t get the souvenir drinks; they are plastic and you don’t get new ones, you just take the ones you drank out of. A little inconvenient to get the bathrooms as they are down stairs but they have a handicap accessible on the top floor so that’s good.

Fun but just okay food

By princess41 |

Because the food is served family style there are much less choices than there normally would be. I don't feel it's worth the price at all. The price should be lower for the amount of choices of food you get. Characters were good, came around several times, server was good also. We were seated on time. Next time I would try breakfast.

Great time

By suzzze |

The character breakfast was a hit with our 2.5 yr old granddaughter. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful and we never felt rushed. All of the characters were attentive and fun. We had a blast.

Highway robbery! $50 pp for breakfast. Dirty, short-staffed, and poor quality.

By GC 2030 |

Absolutely terrible! If Disney wants to charge $51pp for waffles and scrambled eggs, they need to step up their game. At this price, the floor, chairs, and dishes should be clean, and the service should match what they charge. Historically, I gave Disney character restaurants a pass when the floor and tables, and chairs were dirty because they’re serving young children. However, when they’re charging a premium, I expect congruent service. The food choices were limited, and the table, floor, chairs, and dishes were dirty. They also appeared short-staffed. The servers were spread thin. They raised prices, but they have far fewer offerings than pre-COVID. There’s a reason why it’s easy to get a Chef Mickey’s reservation. They also changed the process for the Chef Mickey photo. After you eat, you can wait in line for at least 20 minutes for a picture. Overall, a huge disappointment. Sadly, after 20 years, we won’t be returning, and I’ll happily spend my money elsewhere.

Disappointed

By Candace D |

The quality is lacking. We were at one of the last seatings,so perhaps this is why the food was cold. My carrots were so undercooked you could not cut them with a knife. The kicker was the bug on the tray with our entree selection. After that we decided to depart.I did not want to make a scene, so we paid and left. My son did enjoy seeing Mickey, so it was not a complete loss. Just not up to the old Disney standard.Sad…

Worst visit ever!

By JL R |

We have enjoyed Chef Mickeys for 12 years consistently and would give it 5 stars every time even if there were a few minor inconsistencies BUT after this current experience, I doubt we will ever return . We were seated at 9:00 pm and the quality of the food showed it. The food server was probably tired and also , it showed. The characters buzzed by the table barely making it possible to have my grandkids interact ( even with 6 feet apart) In a word, everything was disappointing and different. But you know what wasn’t different? The PRICE. I understand Covid has changed “ buffet” style and character interaction but this was a poor effort all the way around . No stars.

Grotesque Chef Mickey experience

By Scooty |

First of all, we had a 9:10 pm dinner reservation. They wouldn’t respect our reservation. By 9:30pm, I had a very hungry child. By 9:45 pm, I was getting really upset. The staff kept telling me nobody would leave, they just kept eating and wouldn’t leave. I point blank told the manager “yes, buffets bring that out in some people but you have to have to have a contingency for that because that is your job”. By about 10:00 pm, we were seated and the place was half empty. No way was the problem other guests, something else was going on. So we sit down and they quick bring out three cold salads, fine. But that was it for a long time. Finally I asked if there was anything hot being served and I was told “oh they are bringing your hot food now”. Then the staff looked at each other and went back to the kitchen. Finally another 15 minutes and the worse food ever was delivered to me. I’m sure the food somehow was the problem why we weren’t seated or a personnel issue. Either way, I got a crock pot of food that I could barely eat. My son had a plate of food he barely touched. Kid favorites like Mac and cheese, chicken fingers, he wouldn’t eat. The Big 5 characters came by the table and they were sweet with my kid and I took some charming pics so all good. But if you need to do this character meal, I would say just do breakfast as it’s hard to screw up eggs. (But if any place could screw up eggs it would be Chef Mickeys).

Disappointed

By Byanka2022 |

For the week long vacation at Disney I decided to dedicate a dinner entirely for my children experience. When we got there we were seated right away since he did arrive early for our reservation. Once we got there our food family style was serve. My children were patiently waiting for the characters since I did tell them that they would get to see them. They frequently passed by but like previous comments said they were rushed. My children lost interest right away since they would just rush by, as for the food I basically paid close to 200 dollars for mac and cheese and microwave food.

Chef Mickey Is NOT the Same

By Ryan G |

The experience we had at chef mickey was terrible. They have completely changed the atmosphere of the entire restaurant. What used to be a fun time with singing and dancing with the characters is now very sad the children are not allowed to get up from their seats and dance with Mickey, Minnie, goofy, and Donald. The food was absolutely terrible they have changed it from a buffet style and is now table service. We used to love to go to chef mickey but after the last experience we had its going to be very hard to ever want to go back. Chef mickey needs to bring back the fun and let the children enjoy the true experience of chef mickey by allowing them to wave their napkins above their head and follow their favorite character around the restaurant!!!

Disney needs to fix this ASAP

By Melissa D |

I try to not be dramatic about these things, but what I experienced went beyond the "I didn't feel the personal touch". I know that no one at Disney will read this as they make their millions - but, please be aware that this story shows how much they care about 'service' at Chef Mickey's. TL:DR: Dinner Service, food, and price are all awful. It is a good reminder to those adults paying that they don't (and will never) care and you'll pay anyway because the it's the house of Mouse. Go to Animal Kingdom's Tusker House for some good food and better service. WARNING: It is mildly graphic: The night I was there with my two young children and husband - we were next to a table of 2 grandkids and their grandparents. While eating, one of the children got excited and eventually threw up his food on the table and the floor. He then threw up on the way to the restroom (the door handles and floors were covered in it). I am not kidding when I say - not one person came by to clean it up for about 30 minutes. Thankfully my children were not aware of what was happening, but I had to stifle my emotions just to not feel ill. Then, when environmental services came, they let the folks at that table get up and they accommodated them, but me, being 6 feet away from it had to sit next to the bucket that collected it. Other things: - Since no one cleaned the floor or door handles or put up signs to avoid - other patrons inadvertently touched the handles Those Patrons complained to nearby staff and still - no signs were put up. - I complained two times to ask someone to clean, but was told by wait staff that there was nothing they can do OR they walked away from me completely and said to follow up with my own waitress - left my number to complain and never received a call. There was an existing line to speak with the manager for other issues. I'm quite sure that man threw away my number when I walked away. Service: - Lacking - I couldn't find my waitress for 30 minutes and I couldn't find a single spoon or a refill of water... while sitting next to vomit - They need to make this a buffet or _something_ where some aspects are self service since it drags and you're stuck waiting for any type of service. Food: - Served basically at room temp. It was very disappointing considering the price for dinner for 4 people. - The children's dinner portions were fine, but the food for adults was gross. Characters - This is the ONLY reason why we were here. The entertainment that my children had is the only reason why I had given this more than 1/5. My children's smiles were worth this 1 and only experience. I would struggle ever rationalizing coming back to Chef Mickey's again.

Terrible Food and an expensive way to see Mickey!

By andreanicu |

Let me first say I have been to this place over 5 or more times before Covid where you can pick your food at the buffet and it was just ok then. The Mickey experience a 10 for the kids. Now please note it is family style and they serve you pre selected food that is So Bad that I couldn’t eat it. The salmon is crusted tastes like dog food. The meats raw steak, pork tenderloin and salmon. Gnocchi In tomato sauce and vegetables that were not hot and potato that was awful. Meanwhile my daughter is screaming happy for Mickey. This is the damn rook of the century. I can’t eat but my kid is screaming for Mickey. She loved the basic macaroni and cheese that all kids like. My husband is stuck with a $150 bill. We voiced our concerns to the manager Amanda who had a bad attitude and did nothing. It’s ok Amanda it’s my turn to tell everyone how terrible the food is and how filthy the restaurant has become. Check out the window areas dirty and it’s not the experience that we flew 3000 miles for. Good Luck!

Not great pretty bang average.

By JimmyG741 |

This was booked as a meet and greet with a lot of the big characters where you pay for this rather than the quality of the food. You get pre made up salads for the table and then dishes of meat beef which was fatty and not appetising to look at, the chicken was dry and salmon was nice. The veg were shown the steam of the pan so hard and could have done cooking! The service was great can’t fault that however it’s a production line around the characters who come out on a rotation. The food isn’t great and even the characters were quick and didn’t spend long with you, it was a disappointing experience and cost was $191 for the four of us. I wouldn’t go back to this restaurant if I was lucky to go back again.

Fun & Delicious Brunch

By Christina D |

We went for brunch. The food was delicious! They are deliberate in making sure that each character makes it to each table. We felt that for the price we paid matched the deliciousness of the food and we didn’t have to spend time waiting in line for Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, or Pluto in the park because we got to take pictures and got their autographs at the restaurant. It was worth it seeing the joy on our kid’s faces!

Usually people just wear masks when they rob you, this corporation wears full costumes!

By Adele |

I’m only giving 1 star for our experience as our little one did get to have a photo with Mickey. Other than that, the experience was terrible. We made our booking months ago, but when we arrived and checked in on the app, we weren’t advised there was a wait, we waited 45 minutes in the end for our table to be ready. We had two children with our party so this was a negative. The food was self service and mediocre at best. Mass produced with little flavour. Trying to get the waitresses attention was fairly difficult as the was busy round the other side of the wall. When the bill came we had been charged $58 for our 9 year old as he is classed as an adult and there was a gratuity charge of $60 which I refused to pay. I was told that I had to pay it as it’s policy and the staff got quite nasty with us then. I said that gratuity was exactly that and I wouldn’t be paying it based on the awful service we received. Where was the Disney magic? Let’s just say, you ruined this day of our holiday and we won’t be returning ever again.

A must go in Orlando!

By Thaisa I |

Everything we travel to Orlando, we have to go to Chef Mickeys. This time was a little bit different because of the pandemic, but it was still very good. The kids love it! And also do us!

Terrible

By Laura T |

I knew not to expect much because it was a character meal, but this was an absurd price for terrible dinner. All meats and salmon overcooked and flavorless. Salads were old and wilted. Green beans, carrots and bread were good, but that’s it.

Go for the characters, not the food.

By Reingding13 |

This was our first experience at Chef Mickey’s. The only other character breakfast we ever had was at the now defunct 1900 Park Fare. The characters were the core five and they were great as always. The service was Disney quality. The food was fine. I cannot recall what 1900 Park Fare cost but this felt overpriced given the quality of food was not much better than the quick breakfast items at non-sit down breakfast locations.

MAGICAL AF

By Alekzandra B |

We had the BEST experience! Each castmember did their best to make our visit magical! My daughter & niece got to meet every single character, take pics, get hugs, etc. I’m 32yo, was wearing a Minnie Mouse oranges dress from Box Lunch. Minnie Mouse surprised me with a hug and a kiss on the cheek, then showed excitement in my daughter & i’s matching outfits! The food was way better than I could have ever expected and the atmosphere was top tier! Would definitely go back!

Character Great, Food Terrible

By rtgw |

We went for dinner in September with our two girls, 8 and 5. They loved the character experience, it was great. It ended up costing just under $200 for the 4 of us. The food wasn't good at all. They bring you everything whether you like it or not and a lot gets thrown away. The food is pre cooked and sitting under a heat lamp where the servers get it from. The salads were old and wilted. It would be better if they switched back to the buffet with more selection or I would try the breakfast. For the experience, A+ for the food, not good.

The World needs more Brenda's

By Ambassador800467 |

After wanting a character breakfast/brunch experience while we were there, i did some quick research/review checking and decided on Chef Mickeys. I'm so glad we did, it was an amazing experience, the food and character interaction was all worth it. It's each to their own but i see people complaining about the food quality etc, there is that much choice i struggle to understand how there's not something everyone can enjoy. We are not fine dining experts by any means so maybe our expectations are lower than some but if you are considering booking somewhere for character meets and a large buffet choice then we recommend it. The main reason i wanted to write the review is to give thanks and a shout out to Brenda, who was one of our servers there, she was incredible from start to finish, nothing was ever too much trouble and she had everyone up singing and dancing the whole time. To top it off as we were leaving and paying our bill, she said she would put our coffee in take out cups so we could take them on our way. Us been distracted with the 4 yr old, we forgot and headed to the monorail, about 5 minutes later as we were waiting on the monorail platform we heard a "excuse me mam/sir", Brenda had our coffees and had chased us all the way to the lift, came up and handed them to us just as we were boarding. Some customer service, some woman. I hope she see's these sort of things i would guess she's not the first family she's made feel happy. Thank you Brenda and Chef Mickeys. (Below is a still of a video with Brenda dancing with our little girl, literally jumping for joy).

Just brilliant

Our 8 year old daughter just loved it. It was a really fun evening and we would highly recommend it. The characters and waiting staff really tried hard to make everyone happy.

Loved it - such a treasured experience

I felt I should leave this review as I was very undecided whether to invest in this experience or not based on some reviews I had read. For me, we had zero issues and I would say out of all the experiences we did - this was our most memorable, relaxing and enjoyable. It was in no way rushed. The food was absolutely perfect - a great variety and something for everyone. The characters came around and it was not rushed, plenty of opportunities for photos and plenty of interaction with us / the kids. I didn't have any expectations as I didn't personally know anyone who did it before but I must say, I would highly recommend this experience and it is one that I would happily do again.

Not the same as our last visit!

I will begin by saying this is THE FIRST time I have ever given Disney a bad review. But I felt I should help set expectations for future guests. We have done Chef Mickey’s many times - the last time was in 2020 just before Covid. We went last week for a breakfast reservation at 12:20. We were a party of 10 but of course you cannot get those reservations so 60 days prior at 6am we were up and able to secure 2 reservations - a table for 6 and a table for 4. While I did not expect they would accommodate us to be seated together or even close to each other, I was a bit surprised that they seated the table of 6 almost 15min before the table of 4 (and yes we all arrived together). The price has increased to $59.95USD but I knew this in advance. I figured it was ok to splurge since this is a wonderful buffet with lots of variety of food and will serve as a great brunch. The food was NOTHING like in the past. In 2020 you could expect a carving station with varied meats, Mac and cheese for the kids, a dessert bar with build-your-own sundaes. All of this is gone. It is literally eggs, bacon, waffles, French toast, ham, fruits and some cheeses. The dessert bar was 3 things - very dry mini muffins, croissants and 2 types of danishes. That’s it. In the past the buffet counter was a full assortment of choices the whole way around. Now it is just the same offerings duplicated. Half way along the buffet. We were so disappointed. Disney is a pricey vacation destination but I have never walked away feeling I did not get my value for the dollar. Until this meal. Even the quick service meals in the parks are much better value. Yes, you can say that the character interactions are what is driving the cost……but I paid less for a lot more in 2020 and quite frankly, the 30 seconds you get with each character is not worth $59.95USD ( plus the automatic 18% gratuity). There are other character meals that are much better value (at least from previous experience - but perhaps they all have changed). Sorry Chef Mickey’s - I won’t be back.

Here you do not line up to take a picture, Mickey looks for you at your table to do it with you!

Great plan! Here you do not line up to take pictures with the characters, they come to your table and take whatever you want. Easy booking process (if two months in advance). Parking in the hotel where the restaurant is located, amazing friendliness of all cast members (staff). Our plan was for breakfast and was delicious. Fresh fruit, hams, cheeses, eggs presented in different ways, cereals, vegetables, breads, Mickey waffles, pancakes, sausages, coffee, juice. It is buffet and very organized. It is not a Michelin star restaurant, it is a rich hotel breakfast. It's worth it if you love Disney and its characters!

Chef Mickey's is worth the price

The food was better than expected, especially the cinnamon rolls, with lots of variety. Service was wonderful. The characters were fun and engaging. My 2-year-old daughter loved it!

Great character breakfast

By Jennifer D |

My 9 year old daughter loved it! We were lucky enough to go when the characters were back to doing table visits, hugs and autographs. Our server was very lovely and very efficient. It is expensive but you’re paying for the memories. We booked for breakfast at 12. A cast member explained mobile check in and asked us to wait until we got a notification. The food arrived quickly but we didn’t feel rushed. And the characters came over and spent a few minutes at each table. There was far too much food food for 2 of us but it was very good.
