Sunday lunch. Chefika is new to the Walnut Hill/75 intersection and worth the stop. The interior is refined and refreshing. The opening of complimentary pita and bread was great and accompanied by an olive relish that even we, who aren't big olive fans, liked. My $22 chicken Begendi was chunks of juicy chicken with mushrooms on an eggplant puree. Ample serving. My companion's potato omlette wasn't what she expected. It was two eggs and a bowl of french fries. Oh well. Service was very attentive. Also, the place sits just a few yards from Trader Joe's so I'm sure we'll be back.

Chefika's is absolutely amazing!!! My wife, 2 adult kids, and 2 nephews had lunch there January 19. Every dish ordered was very much enjoyed. My nephew from Washington D.C. but now lives in Amsterdam, said the lamp chops were the best he's ever had; he eats at Mediterranean restaurants frequently. The cold appetizer plate with 6 different dishes was the perfect start to the meal. Granted, we've been eating at the owner's other 2 DFW Turkish restaurants for years so we may be a little biased but just giving honor where honor is due. This was our first visit to Chefika's. The atmosphere was very comfortable for our party of 6. The windows & high ceilings make it feel very spacious. We stayed for 2-1/2 hrs eating and visiting.

What a breath of fresh air! When I moved here from Los Angeles, my biggest gripe was that I couldn’t find decent Mediterranean food. Mediterranean spans so many different countries, but I couldn’t find a single joint that offered a decent baba ghanouj or kabob. Chefika’s arrival changed all that. I’ve dined here a half dozen times and I’ve ordered from them for lunch as well. Amongst my favorites are the coban salad, the lamb shank, the lamb burger, and the chicken begendi. The ingredients are always fresh and you can taste it The atmosphere is just lovely and the decor is fresh and inviting. I have brought my mom here, and several of my friends, and they’ve all loved it. It’s extra special if it’s a nice day and you can sit outside on the patio.
New Turkish Delight
Spent a lovely evening (2 couples) at this terrific new Dallas restaurant featuring numerous Turkish Mediterranean selections. Reservations are recommended. The place has been discovered. Free parking is plentiful. We were seated immediately. Most of the seat cushions are really comfortable. Some other cushions are for taller people, it seems. Service is impeccable. Drinks were offered immediately, accompanied by a pretty fabulous bread basket served war,, which you can request more of. Very tasty choices. The complementary olive spread was a bit salty for me but a fine accompaniment. There are a number of Turkish/Middle Eastern wines offered. We split the babaganoush (Charred Eggplant) appetizer, which was really good! We also split crispy zucchini fritters which were crispy indeed. Tasty if not a tad overcooked. For our main entree, both couples enjoyed the Shish Kebab, cooked a bit medium well (we asked for medium) with delightful taste but a bit chewy. But that's lamb. The portions were adequate for 2 persons to split (6 chunks of lamb per serving). We also loved splitting a healthy portion of Mediterranean salad. We chose to order items sequentially so as not to be rushed. Like I say, service is very attentive, and we chose to slow things down. There's a very nice U-shaped bar as you enter which was available for walk-ins all night, and has a HDTV screen for sports viewing. We will definitely go back as there are just too many great choices of menu items that we want to try in the future. This is likely to become our "go to" Turkish restaurant going forward.
