Friendly Service and Good Food

By Ted-620 |

I ate lunch outside. It was a little windy, but inside seemed too dark and the music was too loud for me. I had the beef tacos, which were good, but had been over salted. The service was friendly and prompt.

Bad customer service

By Louise S |

So we came back this year, as on vacation again, due to the fact we had such a great time last year. OMG, how different this year!!! We told the host that we only wanted drinks, sat down outside, the next thing, he comes out and says they have no wine and suggests we go elsewhere!! Very odd that a bar doesn't have wine!? Turning business away?! Very disappointing, will not be returning.

Great Patio for Hanging with Friends

By Karen S |

Great outdoor patio for drinks and appetizers. The food was tastey and the Palermo drink was the bomb. Service was fantastic as well.

Amazing Chets

By Louise S |

Amazing place, we loved it here. Jenn was so lovely and friendly. We would definitely come back here and highly recommend to everybody. Best place in Dallas for sure. Cannot wait to return.

Yummy

By RozzyW |

Good food in an atmosphere with casual elegant decor. The steak was excellent, sautéed broccoli was as well. The Shepherds pie was a bit different than the standard recipe but was tasty. I would definitely go back!

Great food and drink experience!

By Sunshine619260 |

Eclectic restaurant with great food choices. Service was excellent. Best Old-Fashion drink I have ever had. They have 6 different types of Old-Fashions! I would go back in a heart beat! Definitely recommend!

Great to Stop and Stay a Bit.

Great decor, food and friendly service. A very nice gem in the West End. There were many choices on the menu that it was hard to choose.

Lovely restaurant

Dined here on a Saturday evening. We’re from the UK and feel it’s a shame that so many of the US city centre restaurants are suffering from the lack of footfall. This is a lovely restaurant. Very friendly service and excellent food. Would highly recommend the chicken entree and the chocolate cake is to die for! It isn’t cheap but you get what you pay for 😊

Ice Cold Beer On A 100 Degree Day

By Bobbi S |

Wow, did we need these ice cold beers on an unusually hot 100+ degree day (in fact, a few weeks of such heat). Situated not too far from the free trolley end stop (near the infamous Texas Book Depository Building) & the Red Line, Chet's has a super friendly staff, open feel with high ceilings, open piping, ceiling fans, big front windows, dark walls yet also has a living room/library vibe to is because of the cozy couch, upholstered chairs, chandelier, book shelves & large screen TV near the front (check out my pics). A myriad of beers, full bar & full menu are available & our only disappointment was that happy hour, which runs from around 11:30 AM and on, offers only one discounted beer, & it wasn't even a local beer. We were happy to enjoy our regular-priced Dallas Blondes & get out of the heat for awhile.

Get the Spicy Pasta Dish!

By idzilla |

One of the best pasta dishes I’ve had. Excellent spicy chicken pasta with the perfect portion size. Service was great and the booze selection was good.

Cozy American bistro in the heart of Dallas

By Dan Zalesski |

Very cozy place in the heart of old Dallas historic district. Interesting design that makes you feel right at home. We (group of 6) came in for lunch. Food was tasty and not expensive. And it was served in style. Some of us also enjoyed cocktails and raved about them. If you are in a mood for a good American meal - stop by here

Very friendly service

We had the mezze plate for an appetizer with our cocktails which was excellent. Service was excellent. Liked the atmosphere so will return for dinner.

Come for the food, stay for the music

By The Abel Landin |

Found this place by searching “food near me” on maps. Best decision! Appears to be the place to come after work. I can see why. Drink menu and cocktail selection was very good. Bourbons, whiskeys, etc. I went with my usual margarita no salt made with Reposado. Ordered the ribeye. OMG No steak sauce needed. If you find yourself in Dallas. Eat here.

Great food, great service. Highly recommend.

Chose Chet’s by random while looking for a place to eat before a concert. What a great choice. My daughter-in-law had the roast beef nachos and I had the tomato bisque and truffle mac and cheese. All were delicious and more food than we could possibly finish. I also order an aviation cocktail that was perfection. Our waiter, Jorge, was prompt, courteous, and attentive. We loved everything about Chet’s and would definitely eat there again.

what a find

By Cynthia U |

this is a hidden gem for business lunches downtown. Ask for Demi she knows the menu and offers superb service with a smile. it was a raw windy day and Chet's is a cozy welcoming place. the Irish potatoes which are thick potato crisps are lovely. the popcorn shrimp was also delicious. we were there quite awhile requested paper and more pens so we could brainstorm a bit. this is the place to go for business meals and quiet discussions

Nice menu, friendly staff good service

We went for dinner while staying in Dallas and found the menu to be varied, and the wine list was good. The service was friendly and efficient. Would particularly recommend the salmon salad and the coconut ice cream.

A good place for a casual lunch, dinner or just a drink…

This place is good for a casual lunch or dinner. The salmon salad was yummy. The atmosphere is great, with friendly and attentive staff. Prices were reasonable.

Excellent

By Wendy R |

We sat at the bar and had excellent service from David. Great music and cool vibe. I had the fish and chips—fresh cod and Irish fries with malt vinegar. Creamy coleslaw was very good. My husband had the Irish stew with mashed potatoes and said it was excellent. They also have Guinness on tap. I do recommend this place—a bit pricey, but you are in downtown Dallas. Stop by—I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Delicious Food with Friendly Staff

By James W |

Chet's offered a great choice of lunch spots in the historic district. The restaurant offered an up-scale environment with reasonable prices. I had a burger with beer Killian's (beer) cheese which was phenomenal. My friend enjoyed the Irish Stew. Our waitress, Jennifer, could not have been friendlier and more helpful; she was so kind she even ran out of the restaurant to catch our friend who had left his phone. We are here at a convention but hope to come back to Chet's again.

Wonderful on a sunny Sunday!

By jansjourneys |

I was visiting my brother in Oklahoma City. I've been watching alot of JFK documentaries and reading alot about JFK's time so I really wanted to go to the museum at the old book depository. That was fantastic (read my review) and walking afterwards on a sunny Sunday, we stopped at Chet's. We were able to eat outside which was just wonderful! I had a wine and shrimp cocktail (8 for 18!) and brother got some great looking tacos and the sides. We thoroughly enjoyed our day vaca and the wonderful food afterwards. Hannah was our server and she was great!

Me, I wouldn't go back

By Somobla |

Local a few steps from the JFK memorial. Nice interior, nice terrace. Overall, however, I found more defects than advantages: it is scandalous to present a menu without prices and when you ask the waiter he tells you "more or less" how much it costs. Cocktails between 12 and 16 dollars, made well but served like a "hole bar" (waiter without tray, no saucers, etc...). Bathroom found dirty (it was 7pm) and without paper. Overall I found the value for money unsatisfactory. Strong point: the recipes of some cocktails, I tried one with metzcal which was very good To improve: a lot

Business meeting

Went there for company happy hour and ended up staying for dinner love the vibe, comfortable and cozy seating, good drinks and even better food, had Ribeye steak with mashed potatoes perfect!!!

Decent lunch

By PAtraveler76 |

Stopped for lunch. Food was good, burger popcorn shrimp and fish tacos. Quality food at good prices. Food prep took a little long, about 25 min for lunch but it was good once it was served.
