Nice atmosphere great food

By 587camper |

Went here for brunch while staying at the hotel. Expensive but very nice food and staff couldn't be nicer. Relaxing way to start the weekend.

Wonderful breakfasts

By tenocean |

Each time we have visited the Sofitel Hotel we have eaten our breakfasts at Chez Collette. There are many choices on the menu, but if you don't see what you are looking for just ask your server. They always try to accommodate your requests. On the weekends they offer breakfast buffet. Everything is usually hot and fresh. Definitely recommend Chez Collette.

Great breakfast!

By RGSOUNDF |

To be honest, we reviewed the place 3.5 years ago, and back then it was quite a negative experience. We are so happy that this time, on the morning of Black Friday, the things went so well, undoubtedly thanks to the Executive Chef Edward Hancock, who took over the reins in 2017. First of all, we really liked the restaurant's breakfast system; not only it offers both a la carte and breakfast buffet options, but also a nice combination of the breakfast buffet with 1 breakfast entree; that way one gets to sample the best of both worlds. The seating is spacious, the service is friendly, happy, and efficient. The French maître d', him too, provided the exemplary service. The food was very good. All our entree specialties, from Prosciutto and Kale to Three Egg Omelet and Garden & Goat Cheese Frittata to the fresh viennoiseries and breakfast buffet freshest smoked salmon were perfect. The last but not least important part of our experience. The price level is probably one of the cheapest ones (that is for an upscale hotel like Sofitel Philly). All-in-all, great breakfast experience. Highly recommended.

Decent breakfast

By James G |

Chez Colette is a large room used as the breakfast buffet room at Sofitel. The buffet is the usual but everything that I ate tasted good. I would not describe Chez Colette as exceptional in any way but it was comfortable and satisfactory in all ways.

Had an excellent dinner

By BistroBaron |

Had a great dinner here! The filet was cooked perfectly, the vegetables were neither too crispy nor too mushy, and the fries – melted parm + truffle oil – were to die for. The service was both prompt and friendly – we would dine here again.

Pretty good breakfast

By E2N3 |

We had eaten before when we stayed at the Sofitel. For this visit we stayed across the street at The Palomar but came here for breakfast. The food was good but a little pricy. Danish and croissants were a nice alternative to toast.

Restaurant Week at its best!!!

By cesloan2 |

Had a delicious lunch here. The soup was sooo flavorful. My salad was filled with pistachios and pomegranates( 2 of my favorite things) The scallops and short ribs were fresh, delicious and beautifully plated. Our dessert looked like a work of art. Service was warm and attentive especially our server Joann. What a lovely afternoon! 👍👍

Great croissants, hot from the oven. The restaurant is a beautifully decorated room with period French posters.

Miguel our server was incredible....

By TBRacingLover |

We spent the weekend at Sofitel which is my most favorite hands down.... and I have had many breakfasts at Chez Colette and never disappointed.... ever.... The salmon/spinach eggs benedict and pressed coffee is fabulous.. our server Miguel truly made our breakfast terrific !

lovely way to start the day

By Michelle D |

Only had breakfast here, twice, but it was an absolutely lovely way to start the day. Had an amazing smoothie one day. An amazing omelette the other. Great service, friendly staff.

Pricey but very good

By Sheena S |

Food was excellent but it was bit high for breakfast. Love the fact that the price includes food AND beverage.

Good spot for a breakfast meeting

By MABM917 |

Had a business breakfast here. Place was pretty empty. The men had omelets which were HUGE. Smoked salmon on bagel for me. Service was good. Overall good spot for a breakfast meeting.

A truly exceptional Thanksgiving experience!

By PamelaN |

This restaurant tops the list for making every guest feel important. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate my celiac and gluten-free dietary restrictions, ensuring I could enjoy the holiday without worry. Their kindness, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality made this Thanksgiving feel incredibly special. The buffet itself was outstanding—especially the cold station featuring oysters, mussels, and shrimp, which was beautifully presented and genuinely impressive. The two types of pâté were another standout, elevating this buffet above so many others we’ve experienced. But the biggest surprise of the night was the custom gluten-free dessert plate the chef created just for me. It was thoughtful, delicious, and truly made my evening. We will absolutely be back next year. Highly recommend!

Very convenient if staying at Sofitel

By Rhyno1976 |

Great servers and quality food. Coffee is excellent and staff goes out of their way to provide a great experience, if only for a quick breakfast.

Good brunch.

By Wanderer29614930392 |

Delicious and good service- if need be. I liked the room - comfortable and not noisy. Valet parking made it easy!

Disappointing Mother's Day Buffet

By larryderm |

We thought this would be a nice holiday brunch. We were pleasantly greeted, and there was even an open bar with blood marys and mimosas. The atmosphere is lovely. Then, it is downhill. The buffet was spartan with a mediocre selection of food, very little bread, and no eggs. The roast beef to be carved was such that what was to be well done didn't approach it; the meat just looked awful. The desserts were very limited. Service was ok, except the silverware was placed on the butter plate to be reused - a no-no. Unfortunately, not worth a second visit, and it was not inexpensive.

Great Afternoon Tea

By GWS |

Afternoon Tea at Sofitel is a wonderful experience. Miguil is a great server, Christopher is an excellent manager, Islam is helpful, they are welcoming, friendly and make sure you are well served even when it is very busy. I have been enjoying tea here for many years, with many friends, some invite their friends to tea at Sofitel. I especially appreciate the gluten free option, it is not always available elsewhere and often not tasty when it is available.

Horrible, horrible service

By GeneveM |

We have been here several times for breakfast, while staying at the hotel, without issue. However today was RIDICULOUSLY bad. No one greeted us. We waited for quite some time, thinking perhaps we were supposed to seat ourselves. This was not the case, but no apology. OK, no big deal, even though they weren't that busy. When someone finally came to take our drink order, we ordered everything at once because it took so long to get any attention. The coffee took ages, and then when it came out (french press, prepared behind the scenes), it was full of grounds. My husband and I seriously each had a cup of grounds. We had to order another pitcher of coffee, and that is when the other waiter told us the woman waiting on us didn't know how to use a french press! He was a really good waiter actually, except for bashing his fellow worker. The food took a ridiculously long amount of time, and then we didn't get one of the things we ordered. No one came to check on us, offer us beverages, fill water glasses, or anything of the like. And there were more workers there than patrons - or at least 1 to 1. After everything was over and we checked out at the hotel, I mentioned the service to the front desk, because I thought they might like to know that things were really not up to par there. No apologies - the woman just said, "they must be having a bad day". OK, maybe, but that's not really great customer service. I'd recommend Continental Midtown around the corner rather than this place. This place is just too expensive for the awful service.

Excellent service

By TERRAvelista |

We had our breakfast here on Easter Monday as we started our US trip and could not be bothered to go outside as it was so cold. Chez Colette was a nice inviting place and the staff took us immediately and sat us at a table with sofa overlooking the small street to our right. I ordered I think the Express breakfast for some 10 dollars and my partner I think the omlette and although the wait was rather long the staff encouraged us to munch on their yummy Danish pastries: how could I refuse? The place was nice and cosy, better than a French bistro (where the nearby tables are so close to you it really puts you off) as the tables here were not so close together and the staff welcomed us in French. Great location within the Sofitel hotel.

OK for breakfast

By ivanchemist |

Our New Year's package included breakfast in Chez Colette. The food was excellent, and the French versions of the eggs, croque monsuer, etc. were delicious. However, the coffee was cold, and the service New Year's Day was poor. The hotel would have been better off just upgrading everyone to the buffet.

Nice Breakfast but Overpriced for what you get

By Tim M |

Since I am a coffee guy, I really payed attention to the coffee, which was excellent. The breakfast on the other hand was very small, especially for the price point.

Ordered room service... crab cakes... Not very good.

By Chrome1007 |

Got nauseated the next morning... Not sure, but it is attributed to the crab cakes... Very Pricey also ! ! !

Very nice for breakfast

By bigvicSydney |

We only had breakfast here so can’t comment on other times of the day. But experience over the years has taught me that a Restaurant either had it or not. I thought this one had it. Everything nice prepared and presented. And tasty. We prebought for $22 each. If we hadn’t we would have been up for about $75. So that’s the way to go Recommended

Delicious Chez Colette

By ebreimyer |

The egg and spinach scramble atop brown rice was fantastic, as was the less healthy mini chocolate croissant. My friend has a Belgian waffle that she declared to be the best Belgian waffle she has ever had. Everything in this place was delicious.

Pleasant surprise

By JohnRG |

My wife and i stopped in for breakfast one morning, after being seated the server greeted us by name, a very nice touch. Even though we just had a simple breakfast, with was amazing, the level of service was 5 star

Breakfast here is always fantastic

By ramblinjim2014 |

there is something for everyone on the buffet and it's all very good. The service is excellent, the coffee is superb. It is not in-expensive, $23 I believe for the breakfast buffet but it's very good food.

Never disappointed

By beentheredonethat56 |

Menu is not boring and food always tasty. Great for a hotel restaurant (or even a non-hotel restaurant). Great location.

Great Breakfast Spot!

By riapots |

Breakfast at Chez Colette was included in our room rate during our recent stay at the Sofitel. Coffee served in french press, buttery and flaky croissants, and the most decadent croque monsieur I have ever had - can't beat it! Its not for every day but excellent for special mornings.

Wonderful hotel breakfast with a French twist.

By PaulSnood |

Our breakfast was included in our rate at Sofitel and the staff at Chez Colette totally added to the experience with wonderful French Press coffee and pastries and a wonderful breakfast buffet at weekends or perfectly a la carte during the week.

French atmosphere, delicious breakfasts

By DesertGal16 |

Chez Colette is a great breakfast option, especially if you're staying at the Sofitel. The pastries and breads are dangerously addictive--thank heaven the chocolate croissants are mini-sized! And the healthy egg scramble is far more flavorful than one expects from a "health food" option.

Great breakfast find

By NPOConsultant |

Chez Colette is only open for breakfast now, but it's well worth the trip. Lovely menu, impeccable service, lovely location.

Delighted by Precious Little Extras

By abecedarius |

They greet you with a "Bonjour," which is nice, and then they delight with attentive but not obtrusive service. We had breakfast here, which included complimentary little somethings, as well as breads like croissants. Orange juice was first rate, as was my oatmeal and the fruit medley. French toast was a tad undercooked; my wife says because they used the wrong kind of bread. I would be happy to return!

Surprise buffet

By bbqmaster69 |

When I sat down I thought the menu was OK, and there was a buffet. I thought the buffet would be eggs, sausage, potatoes which did not appeal to me after similar at a conference the previous 2 days. But I decided to look anyway and found what I expected, then turned around and found a line of tables that had charcuterie, a good sampling of smoked meats. Also cheese and fruits. I was surprised and happy

Left a bad taste

By makeminealargeone |

I've just had the buffet breakfast in the hotel. Granted, it was a good buffet with fabulous service, however the bill was a little surprising. There was a charge of $10 for two regular coffees. Now I know that in the great scheme of things this wasn't much BUT I have never been charged for coffee at a breakfast buffet. Fancy juices, specialty coffees and teas, maybe, but normal coffee, never. Sneaky.

Not very allergy accommodating

By MeraKi25 |

We went for afternoon tea, with a tower of food and glass of champagne. The set up was nice, but they were terrible with allergy restrictions. One of us has a hazelnut allergy and they still put a macaron on the tray that “you should avoid because it may have hazelnut but we can’t figure it because of the color”… uh? Maybe just leave it off so your party doesn’t have anaphylaxis??

desserts

By Ocean 215 |

Took my mother here for the afternoon tea service. We enjoyed the selection of teas. The scones and desserts were the best part. The scones were warm when they arrived to our table and the choclate dessert was amazing. The tea sandwiches were standard. I have a few food allergies. When making a reservation they actually ask if you have any allergies. After we were seated, the first time our server approached our table, he informed me he was aware of my food allergies and nothing would be brought to the table that contained them. That was awesome to me! Our server was nice and the gentlemen busing the tables were really kind and friendly. They do have a full bar also. There is a parking garage right around the corner but if you are just going for the afternoon, the vallet parking at the hotel/restaurant is cheaper. I believe the valet parking was $35 and I paid $42 to park a the parking garage for 2 hours! The restaurant is in the Sofitel hotel.

OK Breakfast

By HubbellGardiner |

The bread and bacon were delicious. The rest of the food was meh. The service was mostly indifferent. One guy was friendly enough but not all that helpful. The rest were self-important and unintentionally funny.

Best french breakfast

By Hanan Bou |

Love love this place for breakfast. The french pressed coffee, the chocolate croissant, the smoothies and pastry. The frenchy atmosphere and the super friendly staff. Always perfection. For years have been faithful to it and every time I am in philly now that I moved away I go straight there to start my day with a beautiful breakfast that sets the tone for the rest of the day. The lighting and music also add to the ambiance. If you are not a coffee drinker they have a nice tea selection. Love love love it.

Dissapointing Thanksgiving lunch

By René |

We went here for thanksgiving buffet lunch which was $65 dollars each. The service was bad and slow. They didn't seem to bother too much as service was automatically added to the bill. The selection of food looked better on the menu then on the plates, the meat was cold and gravy was already getting congealed because it was going cold and tasted like something you would get at KFC, oysters also were not fresh and tasted like they have been left out and open for quite some time. Not worth the $400 bill it ended up being in the end.. Restaurant felt more like a hotel breakfast area then a nice restaurant. Shrimp was good, the beef was cooked perfectly but as I said, cold, the turkey was very dry.. Felt more like a cafeteria lunch then a nice place to celebrate thanksgiving. Wishing we just cooked our own lunch at home now and spent the money in something else.

Excellent service! Great staff!

By RGA |

Good food selection and excellent staff. Everything has a little French touch. Nothing over the top but solid style.

Very pleasant environment and nice, relaxing breakfast

By JJJC_Family |

I had the blueberry pancakes, which came with fresh OJ and a pot of very good coffee. While the pancakes were small, they were surprisingly filling and tasty. They gave extra blueberries to place atop the pancakes. The syrup was real maple syrup and good. The OJ was also good. The atmosphere was a like a French cafe, which makes sense since it it is in the Sofitel hotel. It was a very relaxing meal and I enjoyed it even more because it was. Normally, I don't eat breakfast in a hotel due to the exorbitant prices, but I was really hungry and too tired to go exploring that day. At $18, it was a reasonable value for a hotel breakfast. I might even go back the next time I stay at the hotel, a rare compliment for me.

Breakfast buffet bounty

By Grkmom |

Loved the variety of breakfast food, fresh berries, bacon cooked to perfection, mushrooms sautéed, stuffed tomatoes, sausage, and wonderful smoked salmon.

Cold food, cold coffee, nothing remotely French

By RGSOUNDF |

Our breakfast experience was quite negative. First is the false advertisement of a 'French Brasserie.' Nothing French about it except the common-place wall posters one can see at Target or Walmart. We opted for a buffet option which was unbelievably sub-quality. Three kinds of cheeses available, among which none was of a French origin, how is that for a French brasserie? The worst thing, however, was unacceptably cold food. All the usual breakfast choices (bacon, sausages, potatoes, scrambled eggs) are offered without the customary burners underneath. As a result, after waiting for 2 minutes for my toast to get ready, all my scrambled eggs and turkey sausage was North Pole cold. Then, all of those are kept in Le Creuset pots with a lid that you have to remove (an not flip over) without an area where to put it. Highly inconvenient, without any consideration for a customer. Coffee served was equally cold. The choices were rather meager for a $20 per person tally. The service was somnolent; the cheeses or cold cuts were being replaced extremely slow, one small toaster created a waiting line. Stay away. At least as your breakfast choice.

Great surprise for people that enjoy good food

By hmeserve |

A wonderful small restaurant food and service were outstanding. Reservation are necessary on weekends. Everything they serve including drinks is French.

Breakfast was exceptional

By txmdtraveler |

Breakfast was included with my stay at Sofitel. I chose the breakfast buffet. It was a superb meal. Everything was hot or cold, depending its need, and ready to eat. My favorite was the roasted potatoes! Service staff was exceptional. Would totally eat here again.

French restaurant at the Sofitel Hotel

By Northerntraveller73 |

Had a weekend breakfast buffet at the restaurant while visiting Philly. Buffet had a good variety of foods and the price wasn't that bad compared to a la carte. We ate quite late and the place was almost empty and it seemed that some of the food had been on serve for quite a while and didn't taste that fresh anymore - what a pity :-(

Perfect

By Margaux N |

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful breakfast - amazingly helpful, friendly, warm staff. I want to eat there very morning!

Top top food quality

By giovanni c |

I had breakfast with my family. Everything was top quality. The viennoiseries were fresh, delicious. Coffee was very good (Italian Lavazza). Fruit juice was freshly squeezed, so very natural. Fruit salad was great. Eggs and bacon wee also top quality. The room is also very nice and comfortable with comfy chairs and lots of space. Service very attentive and professional. A perfect place for top quality breakfast.

Delicious Breakfast and Fabulous Service

By dbbohner |

We were staying at the Sofitel and this day had breakfast at Chez Colette. From the first moment we walked in it was a wonderful experience. The server was amazing. He was funny and very helpful. Nothing was a problem. I had a tomato and spinach omelette and potatoes. The server also brought us the most amazing croissant. Definitely will return if I am in Philadelphia again.

Pleasant atmosphere-great food

By Meade66 |

Saturday brunch had excellent choices of fresh foods. Pastries were wonderful. Plenty of choices of different foods.....not an over-the-top brunch with far too much food. Eggs Benedict from the a la carte menu with smoked salmon was very memorable.

Excellent place for breakfast

By Orso52 |

I stayed in the Sofitel Philadelphia for a business meeting and stopped in at Chez Colette for breakfast before departure. I had a veggie omelette which was prepared in the traditional French way. Very tasty. The grilled tomato side was quite good. The has browns were OK. French press coffee was a treat. The English muffin was a bit under-toasted. Service was quick & friendly.

OK breakfast with great coffee

By EagleEyeBoston |

Buffet with cold scrambled eggs and not much else. Good croissants. Excellent coffee (French press). Not cheap but not wildly expensive.

Better breakfasts for less can be found

By chris c |

This restaurant was across the street from our hotel. It looked promising. We were quickly seated and our waiter, Ben, quickly took our order. The orange juice tasted like it was fresh squeezed. My add Ins for my omelette were placed in the center of a folded over omelette. There were a lot of add ins and it was just thrown in there. The menu lists the add in options. One of the options is bacon but no mention is made that the bacon is an additional fee. Not that I wouldn’t have gotten it but it would have been nice to have been made aware of this up charge. Dh had pancakes that were good. With so many restaurant options for breakfast I don’t think I will be coming back for their $50 breakfast.

SUNDAY BRUNCH A MUST!

By CarolinaDreamin1 |

We stayed at the Hotel Sofitel so before our plane left, we joined our daughter and her fiancee at Chez Colette for Sunday Brunch. It was marvelous! The service is wonderful throughout the hotel, and we were lucky to have the same "Ambassador" that had waited on us the day before in the bar. Do recommend the buffet, wide selection of pastries, eggs, etc. Wonderful atmosphere.

Inconsistent

By DancingBearMD |

We stayed at the Hotel Sofitel on a rate which included breakfast, so we ate here for breakfast three times, and also had their Christmas day buffet dinner. The service was generally good, but the food quality really varied. The first morning we ordered off of the menu and all three of us enjoyed our meals. I had the ham and gruyere crepes. It came with nice home fried potatoes, and the pastries which they bring around were delicious. I particularly liked the pain au raisin. Since the next morning was Christmas they served a buffet breakfast. The food was all in Le Creuset pots, not in warming trays with sterno. I suppose the thing they were sitting on was some kind of electric warmer, but it wasn't working to keep the food hot. Also the Le Creuset lids are quite heavy and there was no place to sit them when you dished up the food. It was very awkward. And, on this day we had the least attentive service. But the pastries were still delicious! Our third meal was the Christmas buffet, which they served from 1-6. We had 4:30 reservations and felt like they were already starting to close things down and not replenish as we were eating. There was a decent selection of food for the adults in our family, but no real consideration of kids' preferences. They let us order a cheeseburger from the menu of the lounge next door so she wouldn't go hungry. And it was expensive, around $55 for the adults (including our 14-year-old) and around $30 for a child. Came with a glass of champagne, FWIW. Our last meal at Chez Collette was another breakfast, again ordering off of the menu. This time was not as good as the first breakfast. My potatoes had not been cooked enough. My parents' crepes were way overstuffed compared to the ones I had gotten just a couple of days earlier. And again the service was a bit unattentive.

nice brunch

By fussbudgetNewYork |

lots of selection, fresh food, well presented. Pleasant surroundings and casual, airy, not rushed. If you want to order a la carte, you can, and all was included in breakfast package.

Beautiful Easter brunch

By lneufeldpa |

WE enjoyed Easter brunch after Easter services at St. Mark's, Locust St. Service was great, food wonderful and atmosphere beautiful. Felt like we were in Paris for the afternoon, except that we did not have a view of the Eiffel Tower! Plentiful shrimp and mussels raw bar, lovely salads, a lamb carving station, and other entrees with complimentary champagne. I enjoyed the lamb, husband liked the salmon and artichoke dish. Creative centerpiece was so pretty that I asked to take it home. They generously obliged. We will return.

Loved it

By Fat2 |

Went to Colette the first time for the breakfast buffet, I was not dissapointed at all. Food was very good as well as the service. I went back with a friend for the tea party one afternoon, she loved it too.

Good Restaurant in a Great Hotel- but Service was Disappointing that Day

By janbK6058QR |

We stayed at Sofitel for business overnight and decided to have breakfast before heading out for the day. When we stood to be seated, we waited a few minutes- then we were seated and looked around at a number of tables with guests seated in a spacious well decorated room. We sat for over 10 minutes with my husband asking for water and a cup of coffee to be served while waiting. We waited another 5 minutes. A couple near us obviously had the same wait prior to our arriving- stood up and annoyed- decided to not wait- and left the restaurant. We again asked for a menu, coffee or should we leave.... The hostess answered "We are all trying our best.." It seemed that they were short staffed. A waiter came and apologized, we asked for coffee, put in our order, and explained we needed to leave shortly after being served as we had lost 35 minutes. There was a wait- but the omelette was great, accompanied by a small protein smoothie, salmon on the side, and I enjoyed steele cut oatmeal with berries. We had to leave soon after eating to make our appointments for that morning- but the hostess told us they apologized for the lack of service and our meal was on the house for that morning. Everyone has a bad day- we will come again as the other reviews support a nice spot in a great hotel. We will come again.

Nice breakfast menu

By travchef |

Very friendly servers, but the breakfast menu is a bit limited. They do have a buffet but most of the choices were regular breakfast food. The granola with yogurt was good. Had an Americano coffee and no one offered refill. Very nice setting inside the Sofitel hotel.

Brunch and breakfast.

By Isa b |

We ate there a few times for breakfast as it was included in our hotel package. The Sunday brunch was amazing and very complete. The other morning were more 'classical' breakfasts. We had hits and misses in our menu selection, but we wanted to try things we hadn't tried before. Service was excellent.

It's good if you are staying over at the Sofitel

By TBRacingLover |

Brunch is limited.... but just ok.... bloody mary's suck BUT THE SERVICE IS AMAZING !!!!!!! 4 STARS !

Excellent food and service

By Berthe5 |

I had a wonderful new scallop dish. The waitress asked if I wanted dessert. I said I'd like just a bit of chocolate. She brought me a beautiful bowl of fresh raspberries, blueberries, and something else with a few pieces of very good chocolate. It was perfect.

Very good breakfast

By Nightstars874 |

We enjoyed their breakfast buffet. It was very fresh and constantly turned over and added to. Nice continental selection. The waitstaff was courteous.

Decent food, better options in the neighborhood

By CourtneyStanz |

We stayed at the connected Sofitel (fabulous) and had breakfast at Chez Colette our last morning. The pricing is expected for a restaurant attached to a hotel, and the quality was better than an average "hotel breakfast", but not the best given the surrounding options. The buffet was stocked with your usual breakfast meats, danishes and pastries, home fries, eggs and french toast. The croissant and pastries were fresh and tasty. Our first serving of french toast that we took was inedible and almost impossible to cut through it was so dried out in the sterno. It wasn't "the end" of the sterno, it was still 1/2 full, but I suppose it was sitting a while. When the hubs saw a fresh pan set he jumped on it and I'm glad that he did - it was wonderful! The french-press coffee is made table side and was perfect in flavor and temperature. We took turns going to the buffet as we waited for our 2.5 year old's breakfast to arrive. Her blueberry pancakes came 20 minutes into our meal - after the adults were done eating and had already shared some with her - though I should mention that they were delicious and a very liberal portion. Overall, I think it is an above-average option for being a hotel-attached restaurant, but we had better meals in the neighborhood.

Hot food goes on a hot plate, cold food goes on, well a cold plate.

By Diane S |

Breakfast was supposed to be included in our room so we ate here a couple of times. The first item i tried was an omelet with cheese. It was dry and no cheese, I had it sent back to add cheese and the server brought it back exactly the same, saying the chef said he couldn't add cheese because it would melt. The next day the breakfast was poached eggs - cold, with cold duck and cold toast. After the manager got involved we got it sorted out and it was a very good dish. I asked them to pan sear the duck breast. And, as I have said before, the staff is very agreeable.

Horrible

By AllysonSTALLMAN |

2hr wait for our entree on a night that wasn't busy, except at the bar, which spilled into the restaurant. Not the only people that had to wait. When food arrived it was inedible.

Excellent breakfast.

By KrysiaK |

The breakfast was delicious. The restaurant offer buffet style or a la carte breakfast. We selected a la carte breakfast. My husband ordered the blueberry pancakes, I ordered an omelet. Both dishes were nicely presented and very tasty. Waiting for breakfast we got warm croissant. Service was also great

Great breakfast

By Debbe M |

And fresh French press coffee with a good-sized pot left on your table. Lots of light to medium breakfast choices. Good service.

Great Afternoon Tea!

By Michael M |

We came here on a recommendation from a friend. It was our first time here and our first Afternoon Tea. We weren’t sure what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised. We were treated kindly by the friendly and very knowledgeable staff. There were lots of teas to choose from and the sandwiches and pastries were delicious! We’ll be back for our next special occasion.

Breakfast there and room service are great! Fresh tasty and great service! They use little pots that are different colors and the orange juice was fresh!

French, with a French Attitude

By Mayoplan |

I went here for breakfast and the seating was uncomfortable. Half the restaurant was closed off witch made it uncomfortable. The food was good, but the service was indifferent. It was very frustrating and a turn off.

FANTASTIC

By lcolljam |

Had reservations for tea. I did not mention it was my mothers birthday on the reservation however, when presented with our champagne the waiter(Miguel) over heard me say "happy birthday". Miguel could not have been any more perfect. He has an infectious presence and exudes hospitality making you feel like you are the only ones in the room. At the end of our tea he brought over a special plate to my mom - that read happy birthday and had chocolate covered strawberries -talk about the wow factor -well Miguel has it ! Not to mention before leaving Miguel added a couple extra little goodies to the take away box ....again wow. Just to add the extra touch we had gone upstairs before leaving and he spotted us walking down the steps and he took the moment to inquire and recommend the elevator if needed -such a kind and thoughtful gesture...Miguel is exceptional !!!!!

Easter brunch

By Pierre J |

We went with my wife and 2 kids for Easter brunch. Fantastic experience with a great buffet including a raw bar and a prime rib carving station. Very nice atmosphere and overall excellent service attentive, friendly and caring for my 2 boys. Will definitely go back

Great

By Chesty L |

The food is delicious (the crab cakes). The customer service is great. I will definitely return when I am in the area.

Excellent buffet breakfast

By LindaBWright |

Breakfast was included in our room rate at the Sofitel Philadelphia (normally $23pp). Although there was a bit of a wait for a table this morning, our server was very sweet and the buffet did not disappoint! Quite a variety- eggs, bacon, sausage, sautéed mushrooms, baked tomatoes, potatoes, french toast, eggs, bread/croissants, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals, salmon, cheeses and meats, etc. Delicious, and I loved the tiny jars of jam on the table. No trouble with food temperatures, as described by a previous reviewer. They were frequently taking the LeCruset pots back to the kitchen to replenish. I would definitely return for the buffet, even if we weren't staying at the hotel.
