The Chop House is one of our favorite places. Our food was delicious and our server Jorge was very attentive and made wonderful drink and menu recommendations.

Beautiful ambience, delicious and innovative menu. Miguel was Amazing!! We are SO grateful to celebrate our don and daughter in law’s first anniversary and upcoming parenthood in such a special place.

This is our go-to place in Chicago when we want steak. It's old school and that is why we LOVE it! Our party of 4 dined on the wet aged bone in ribeye, 2 filets and a prime rib, OVER the top... all four of them. We of course added cocktails, lobster bisque and the crab cake (which is the BEST EVER), salads, brussels, mushrooms, peach cobbler, creme brulee and a bottle of wine. The bill reflected our meal and the outstanding service...and we were happy to pay it! Thanks for a wonderful evening, looking forward to seeing you again soon!

We went with our friends another couple to celebrate. Our friends used to come here and recommended the restaurant. We ordered lobster bisque for appetizer. It was so salty we couldn't eat it. We ordered two wagu steaks that came with no flavor. The other steaks was the Kansas and the file. The Kansas was overcooked. After telling the waiter (Noah) all this he just shook his shoulder and said we should have ordered the steak medium . Why he didn't say it before we ordered baffles me. No attempt was made to make it up. The only thing good was the bread and the over priced soda. After spending more than $700 on the dinner I thought it would be best to reach out to management. I sent an email that went unanswered. I called several times and spoke to Don who kept passing the buck and said every time management was in a meeting and someone should return my phone call . After two weeks I finally got hold of someone else and mentioned to her my experiences so far with Don . I said if no one calls me Back I have no choice but to put a bad review. Later that same day someone called and left me a message saying to go ahead and place the review and said this restaurant wasn't for us. Clearly they don't care about customer service or loyalty. There is many better options of restaurants and management that do care about their loyal customers. They are just about taking your hard earned money. Their steaks are fake so is their management. Stay away.

If our experience were only the delicious dinner (shout-out to the chefs) served with graciousness and charm by Gabriel, this would be a 5. Gabriel was the best waiter we have ever met! Because my handbag was stolen while eating dinner (entire scene caught on security cameras), at the manager Emma never looked me in the face and said sorry this happened at her restaurant, I won't return there. She checked the footage; but she did zero in terms of customer service. We took a taxi to the police station to file the report and I followed up repeated by email, to be met with silence. From the moment the theft was discovered, I said aloud I understand these things happen and it wasn't the restaurant's fault. I asked them for nothing -- still paid the bill with my son's card, as of course I had lost everything. Meanwhile thousands of dollars in transactions were piling up on my stolen cards, to say nothing of the cash and valuables taken. All Emma needed to do was extend an appropriate level of customer concern and I would be focusing on the glorious steaks and service. I hope this becomes a learning moment for the Chicago Chop House.

Great classic Chicago steakhouse. Gabe was an amazing server. Very knowledgeable staff and good steaks. Would come back!

Great food. Service was amazing. Ask for Dan. Was expensive but delicious. Great experience if you love fresh meat and high end quality

Rick was the best. Beautiful space and food. Key lime pie and the steaks were amazing. Must do baked Alaska when visiting

Steak was seasoned so well. The bacon was a lot of fun. Excellent service. Would definitely come back the next time we’re in town 10/10

We just had our 25th anniversary dinner here. A lovely experience. Service was wonderful. Everyone - especially our waiter Rick K - made the experience extra special. The creme brulee— to die for. Brussels, too. And steak. Give it a try- you won’t be sorry.

W ha like everyone 50 steakhouses to choose from. I just wanted steak, my girlfriend onset' eat it much, we just wanted a no frills, high end steak. No bone marrow, no encrusted whatever, just steak. This fit the bill perfectly. Relaxing, not pretentious, service was friendly and funny, and helpful We had scallops for an app, maybe the one down, 28 dollars for three smallish, fine but not special scallops. We then had the dry aged bone in rib eye perfectly cooked at cut medium rare with bernaise. Just good steak, nothing more. For sides we had a baked potato coated with salt and butter and sour cream, it was huge and good. we also ha creamed spinach which was great once we peeled off the melted cheese, which was just creamy over kill. Well priced wines attentive and and not over bearing service. Dinner was $225 plus tip, one glass of wine, one split of champagne. We shared the steak, no issues with price just letting people know, we felt it was good value and we got what we paid for. A good solid steakhouse choice.

This restaurant was perfect for our final night in Chicago! We sat in the beautiful courtyard! Gabe was informative, fun, and attentive. The Manager Emma was Top Notch and was seen stopping to visit & check in with every table. They were very busy but everything was still very timely! The lemon chicken & the filet were both Amazing! I’m still dreaming about the steak! We will definitely return the next time we visit Chicago! Kudos to Emma, Gabe and the Team!

The Wife and I dined here for my birthday. She ordered the Prime rib and I had the dry aged grand fillet. Our sides were creamed spinach and bacon cheddar mashed potatoes. The steaks were excellent and cooked perfectly and the sides had great taste as well. The service was a bit slow.

I have been to the Chop House numerous times in the past but not in the last few years. We were walking around and decided to stop in for drink. They had a drink menu and most feature drinks were around $19. We ordered a basic Manhattan and an Old Fashioned. I was surprised when the bill came and the 2 drinks were $54! Come on! It may be a while before I go back again.

Best steak in all of Chicago. The service from Gabriel was excellent and made us feel at home. Classic and perfect.

The decoration of the restaurant is nice and an eyecatcher; unfortunately, this was the only positive aspect. Service was a disgrace. Was the only one who ordered a starter; it was served together with my friend's entrees, so I had to eat my entree on my own, while my friends were waiting. Caeser Salad was not authentic and dry aged steak had a funny taste. In addition, they served the wrong cut. All the dishes are overpriced and not worth the money. There are probably plenty of better steakhouses in Chicago.

We celebrated my husband’s birthday at The Chicago Chop House, and Derrick made the entire evening unforgettable. From the moment we were seated, his service was warm, attentive, and effortlessly professional. He struck the perfect balance between being knowledgeable and personable, making us feel genuinely celebrated rather than just served. Derrick anticipated our needs, offered excellent recommendations, and never once made us feel rushed. He elevated an already special occasion into a truly memorable experience. If you’re celebrating something important or honestly, even if you’re not—ask for Derrick. He’s the kind of server who reminds you what exceptional hospitality really looks like. We’ll absolutely be back. 🥂

My husband and I dined at Chicago Chophouse during a quick visit to the area over the Memorial Day weekend. The ambience and food were impeccable, but the service not so much. Our sever Hector, started off attentive when he first greeted us at the table but that quickly faded away. I watched other servers provide great service to their tables and saw a few bring out bread, one thing we were never offered or given. It was not a huge deal since I’m on a low carb diet but it would’ve been a nice gesture. We received our check at the end of dinner for 2 and my husband noticed there was already a 17% gratuity added. When did it become customary to automatically add gratuity to a ticket with less than 6 people in the party? We were a bit taken aback as our standard practice is to tip 20%. Needless to say, this was not the best first experience dining at this restaurant but I’d be willing to try it again if I’m in Chicago, at least for the food and ambience. Hopefully, we’ll have a better server next time.

We were given great advice by our waitress, the steak and sides were first class, as was the service. We sat upstairs, initially felt that the lighting was too low, however, it was fine once accustomed to it. Well worth it, happily recommend.

We have always ate here every time we come to Chicago, but time to move on. They changed 1 of our favorite dishes, the augratin potatoes. They now taste like they came out of a box. The service was excellent and the steaks were good, but still left feeling like we paid 5 star prices for 4 star experience. Too many good steak places in Chicago to stick with the same place & leave feeling like it's not as good as it used to be. Thanks for the memories Chop House.

We spent a lot of money but it was worth every penny! It's not often I say that but we shared an appetizer, ordered the prime rib and a filet for main courses, plus a few glasses of wine. Our waiter was great, although the division of labor meant lots of people were bringing or taking things from our table throughout the dinner. We were lucky to sit outside on a nice evening, obviously not possible all the time, so I think that helped our experience. Overall we would recommend it to anyone who likes the look of the menu.

The food was excellent. We got the ribeye, lobster tail, and Mac and cheese with bacon. Gabe was wonderful. We would definitely come back.

As business man you always want to take your customers to the best place in Chicago! Mine are from TW, Germany, England,& allover the US. But one time the head of Eng of the company from TW with his President was my guest, they don't ear steak in TW so I rec the Prime Rib to him so when his plate came in front of him he yelled Whole COW! Whole Cow! really load that it was a huge shock to him we couldn't stop laughing! So tale my word its a great place to take everyone no matter where their from, I recommend the Prime Rib Med!

Coming from Montreal, our standards are pretty high for food. We ordered all kinds of appetizers and all kinds of cuts (even the wagyu). The food was phenomenal. Our waiter Nikolai was extremely attentive and accommodating to my 2 kids. The reason for the 4 stars was despite the excellent meal and spending over 1000$, the restaurant felt it had to charge me a 30$ ‘ credit card fee’ without even knowing how I was paying. Out of principal I asked the waiter to remove that charge and I paid cash. Shame on you for charging 3% when you’re charging 300% markup on your wines and 90$ for a steak . Will not be back.

We had a great anniversary dinner. Alyssa took care of us and helped us pick a perfect wine. We started with splitting the chopped salad. This thing could serve 4! We both had the Sunday special, prime rib with a few sides- excellent. We added a tasty side of Brussels sprouts. We took home a bunch and had a great second meal. We will be back soon.

We had a lovely evening celebrating my in-laws 58th anniversary. Gabe, our server, took fantastic care of our group of 5. The food, drinks and service were all outstanding! We loved the added touch of the personalized menus to take home

The service and the food was wonderful. I can’t recommend this place enough. If you are in Chicago and want and wonderful meal, go to the Chicago Chop House. Ask for llayna and Carlos, they will take great care of you and ensure you have a great experience!!!!

The service was outstanding. Jorge's concern with our complete customer satisfaction really made us feel so very welcome. It was my first time here. I would recommend The Chop House to everyone. The service that Jorge provided was exceptionally well.

I booked Chicago Chop House for my husband’s 40th. birthday after finding it through Tock, and I’m so glad I did. Victor, the head sommelier, called me ahead of the dinner, to help arrange some special details to celebrate my husband. We were seated at a great table up on the 2nd floor in the window and the menus were even personalized for the birthday! Jorge, also a sommelier, was our server and he really made the night special. He was personable and not pushy and gave helpful recommendations. He really made the night what it was! The food was all delicious and the drinks were great, too; we had martinis and then Jorge helped my husband pick a nice bottle of Brunello which we really enjoyed. As a first-time visitor to Chicago trying to plan a special-occasion dinner for a partner who’s had a lot of fine dining experience, the task of choosing a place was overwhelming and I kept second guessing it. Until we ended up at Chicago Chop House. What a special, historical place with wonderful food and even better service and people!

Food was delicious. We ordered the tomahawk steak with Mac and cheese and creamed spinach. Food aside, the service was average. We felt like our waiter was pushing us to pay and leave but it’s not like we were taking too long at our table. Our total time was 1.5 hrs and we had wine and cocktails as well, which is not unreasonable. This was also the first time we were charged an extra 5% to pay for their insurance, wage increase, etc. Not a business model I agree with. I don’t think I’d come back to this restaurant again if I’m back in town. There are plenty other steakhouses in the city.

The Chicago Chop House is a traditional Chicago meat centric restaurant. The Martinis 🍸 are perfect and ice cold, the food is wonderful with generous portions and the service is always on point. Our last visit was made even better by our server, Grace, who could not have been more gracious and professional. Go to this establishment enjoy a wonderful experience. You’re welcome.

The food was amazing. We had a ball with the wait staff and Chop House team. Thank you all so much for making our Thanksgiving that much more special, especially since not even one our grown kid’s were with us for the first time in a very long time. Grace, Victor, Carlos and Eber were the best.

Amazing steakhouse downtown with outstanding customer service! I would argue to say they have the best steak in downtown Chicago! I love how seamlessly the team work together to help make the experience better that more heightened and 5 star worthy. If you go ask for Rick or Niko—-they never disappoint and they go above and beyond for each guest.

Went there for for a work team dinner of 6 people inc Vegetarians. Food was absolutely superb and matched by the excellent and frindly service, I'd really recommend this place esp if you're into big American steaks - highly recommended

I recently had an outstanding experience at the Chop House. I sat on the lower level - near the bar. The vibe was extremely pleasant for an early evening dinner. My server, Victor, was attentive and helpful throughout the evening. He made well-informed suggestions leading to the best steak meal of my life. I had the dry aged filet and it was so amazingly delicious and tender. Highly recommended. The meal was expensive, but worth it. Ask for Victor. An excellent meal and outstanding service.

We had a particularly difficult experience. Our service was way below average as drinks weren't delivered correctly and when we asked for something as simple as a twist for the drink we had to ask more than once. The bar was less than 10 feet away. Our food was delivered but only the main dishes with one exception - one person ordered mac and cheese and that took over 10 minutes longer than the other main dishes. It came with the sides so they were delivered 10 minutes after the steaks. There was one very loud table close by with one extra loud guest in addition to the others. It was beyond anything you would expect in any public setting and certainly, not expect at one with that carries the price values of a Chop House. Two tables of patrons asked to move and were moved. Our party was large and we didn't ask to move and we weren't offered to move either. The patrons who also remained at their tables all exchanged looks of disbelief. Yet, the serving group at Chop House didn't think to take any action. Finally, my wife went to management and complained. This finally resulted in a visit to the table where they asked the group to be more considerate. It was awkward and very tardy, but a welcome intervention. But then, it became more awkward when the manager came and talked to us right after speaking to the culprits. I guess they now knew who turned them in. After dinner, we were asked if we wanted dessert. We very firmly said no but the waiter said well, we're bringing you a complimentary dessert for the trouble. We tried to tell him no thank you but he insisted and sure enough, that dessert showed up. All in all, I would suggest that the staff needs some real training at the Chicago Chop House. There are too many great steak houses in Chicago for us to consider returning there for a long long time.. or never.

Great experience all around! I loved the atmosphere, the food was great and servers were super accommodating. My family had the best time eating there

Great experience amazing food and excellent service. Fanny was incredible! I highly recommend, and will definitely be back.

Gabe was excellent and dinner was amazing. Everyone was so accommodating. We ordered everything, including calamari appetizer, wedge salad, French onion soup, prime rib, creamed spinich, I would recommend ALL! Will be back next time we find ourselves in the Windy City!

Derrick the bar tender recommend the steak. I had lobster bisque and then a dry aged filet with peppercorn sauce - it was I have to say EXCELLENT. We’ll worth the visit and the Old Fashioneds are the best!

Relaxing and peaceful anniversary dinner. Service and food far exceeded my expectations. The whole place was amazing. Fanny was our server and she is the best server so ask for her when you make it in!!!

My wife and lived in Chicago many years ago, and our favorite restaurant, by far, was the Chop House. We were back in town for the weekend and had our teenage son with us, and we really wanted to show our son what a high end steakhouse was like, as we simply don't have them in our new hometown. I'm sad to say that the Chop House's n, best days are behind it. I had the KC bone in steak, and it was ok at best. The drinks tasted off, like they had sat in the shaker for five minutes before being poured. The bacon appetizer was good, and the presentation was fun, but otherwise it was a very unspectacular dinner. It is unlikely I will be back, and that sort of makes me sad.

the service was amazing , the side for principal menus were great , tha Alaskan crab amazing too , u just have to order the oysters if u are fan and the lobster escargot is a must

Have been going here for over 30 years, great food & service. Love the Chicago steak house ambiance. Thanks to our server Nick for making this a 5 star evening!

The food and atmosphere was amazing as usual! Gabe was amazing and one of the best waiters we have had!! We will definitely be back!

Absolutely amazing food and service! Rick was so knowledgeable and made our dining experience such a pleasure and an experience! We will be back soon!!

When we arrived, we told them we were just interested in happy hour. They advertise their happy hour on their website. The servers brought over regular menus. We had to ask for happy hour menus. It took a while because they couldn't find them. They keep trying to push regular menu on us. Finally, we go the menus which say that CALL drinks are $8. We ordered happy hour food. We ordered drinks CALLING a specific brand. We got the bill and they charged full price for the drinks PLUS they surcharged for straight up. Bartender, waitress, etc... clearly don't know what a CALL is. We complained. They did nothing. Then, as we were leaving waitress said that she would talk to the manager for future guests. Ummm... seriously. She should have gotten the manager as soon as we questioned the bill. Never again.

I've lived in Chicago all my life and just made my first trip here for dinner last week Tuesday. The hostess was refreshingly courteous. I arrived a little early for my reservation so I had a seat at the bar. The bartender was friendly, professional, and made a mean Gimlet. Our waitress Jodi, was outstanding. I've dined at other steakhouses in Chicago and have never had anyone give such a thorough, unbiased description of the menu items. We arrived knowing what we were going to order, after Jodi went through the menu and described a few things in more detail, we changed a few things and my palate couldn't have been happier. The scallops were phenomenal and the Dry-aged Ribeye...stunning. Thank you, Jodi! The red wine that was suggested by another server (Julian?) went perfectly with our meal. All of that, along with the ambiance created by the pianist made for an evening altogether beyond compare.

Chicago has many steakhouses. In my opinion, this is the real deal. Even the building is historic and beautiful. The food is beyond amazing. And if you are lucky to get Grace as your host you are going to meet a real star! You cannot miss this Chicago experience.

We ate at the Chicago Chophouse on a trip last yeR and went back again on this visit. The food is wonderful. We started with the calamari, which was crispy and quite lovely. I’m don’t usually order steak when dining out but had to at the Chophouse. Great decision. The dry aged steak was wonderful, perfectly cooked and very flavorful. My husband and friends all loved theirs as well. All the veggies were perfectly cooked. . The service is attentive without being overwhelming. This is a wonderful restaurant.

Amazing place. Beef is superb. All dishes perfection and very generous portions. Wait staff is all very professional, all are very approachable, not rush, helpful, and smiling. Ambiance is epitome of a true American steakhouse, love the music! Do not miss it! You are worth it!

Our steaks were perfect! Our server, Gabriel was superb and very knowledgeable. And the bus staff was excellent! Biggest surprise was the Baked Alaska. Simply put, WOW! So good on so many levels. A must try.

Our waiter Rick was amazing! He had the expert knowledge you’d hope to encounter in a famous iconic restaurant like the Chicago Chop House. We had lobster escargot, wet aged filet, cheesy mashed potatoes and brûlée sweet potatoes. Everything was excellent! Can’t wait to return.

Food and atmosphere was great and Nicko was amazing! Highly recommend the courtyard. Specials and menu is great out there.

Ended up getting a last minute reservation while doing some Christmas shopping in Chicago. Our server Gabe was top notch! If you dine here ask for him. Our oysters could have been shucked a little better but you can’t beat east coast oysters with a good mignonette sauce. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and the martinis were the perfect amount needed to warm us from the cold day of shopping.

Service and food was Amazing. Dry aged filet was like butter. Miguel did a great job with service and getting using to the show we were going to

What a waste of money. I have eaten beef all over the world, from Argentina to Australia to Japan, and all over the US. This place is a total bust. Beef is aged to tenderize it and give it complexity. This beef was tough, full of gristle, had little flavor, and had a “rotten meat” overtone, all signs of inferior beef whose low quality a restaurant hopes to cover up just by keeping it too long in the chiller. The ambience and service did not make up. The interior was hot and humid, and all the managers and servers I saw in action had a rough, pushy demeanor. My waiter even suggested bringing my soup and steak at the same time - what kind of customers come here? Tables were really close together. Noise levels were high, and the table beside me had a really loud woman who wanted the whole restaurant to know about her European vacation and her neighbor’s new child. All in all, I cannot think of any reason why a person who knows anything about steak, or who is accustomed to fine dining, would come to this place.

The food tasted phenomenal, but I can't recommend this restaurant due to the poor quality service. Food courses were routinely late, server did not stop over to check-in with guests on meal quality or for refills, server forgot sides at dinner (he did not realize this until the customer had to tell him). Empty dishes and silverware were not picked up and left on the table throughout the meal. Server did nothing to remediate the many issues at dinner. Seemed that many other tables had issues as well. At first I thought this was a one-off event on a busy night (valentines day), but after reading other reviews I see this has been a reoccurring issue. Please look elsewhere when considering your choice of steak house in chicago. This place is not worth spending $300+

Chicago Chop House was amazing! The serve was fabulous and the decor was so “Chicago”. Now about the food.... AMAZING! The waiter helped us to determine which steak we each would enjoy best, which was really helpful and he was right. The food was amazing! Can’t wait to go back again one day.

Excellent dinner in a fine old Chicago establishment , they accommodated us on short notice. It was our first visit in many years and not disappoint.

2 specialty drinks without their ingredients in house? My steak and onion rings were overly done. Great service by Julian and....

This is one of the best, if not THE best Ribeye steaks that I have ever eaten, Perfectly cooked medium-rare, it was extremely juicy, tender, and flavorful. Shrimp cocktail and the Wedge Salad perfect accompaniments.

Miguel was awesome! The food came out at the perfect intervals and everything was prepared perfectly. Great place to dine before the theatre.

Alyssa was the most amazing server! The food and ambience were impeccable and the entire staff was wonderful about my food allergies!

Everytime I visit Chicago, I make sure to stop at the Chicago Chop House. It’s a place you just can’t miss! The restaurant has a classic feel, with old photos on the walls that make it cozy and full of history. The food is amazing, especially the steaks. They’re cooked just the way you like them—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. They also have a great selection of wines that go perfectly with your meal. The service was excellent! Our server, Cosi, took great care of us. He was fast, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect at our table. If you’re ever in Chicago, make sure to visit the Chicago Chop House. It’s not just a restaurant—it’s an experience you’ll always remember.

We went here for my twin daughters birthday. The staff and atmosphere was really nice. The food on the other hand was horrible. I had a dry aged porterhouse and it was tough and dry. I eat my steak rare and didn’t finish was looked to be a 12-14oz steak. My wife and daughters had different cuts and didn’t like there’s either. Everyone’s leftovers were eventually thrown out rather than eaten. Really disappointed. I did hear they had newer owners and if true they need to reevaluate what they serve.

Customer service was excellent. The people were very professional, and cant wait to go back. My entire family was very satisfied with the services. My son came in from Denver, and I flew in from Atlanta, we met there, and everyone was satisfied.

Gabriel was the absolute best!!! Professional, friendly, knowledgeable... great service. We had the lobster escargot, which was to die for ! The porterhouse was flavorful and tender and amazing paired with lobster Mac and brocolini. Come and enjoy a wonderful dinner

We have dinner here every time we visit Chicago. It’s still a GREAT restaurant but it’s slowly losing its touch. I’ll continue to come here but honestly, for $350 (2 people) there’s a lot of restaurants that are just as good. I hope this restaurant will adapt so it survives.

Cozy restaurant with good food and great service. Our waiter Gabrielle went over and beyond to make sure that we had a wonderful dinning experience. He explained everything thoroughly and was very knowledgable and patient.

Food is way over priced. I had better steak and soups at chain restaurants. Nice waiter but just way too over priced for quality and taste of food.

A 5 star experience from start to finish! Our server, Miguel, was top notch! Knowledgable, friendly, and accommodating without being over attentive. I’m so glad he recommended the truffle butter for my filet. Talk about delicious! Don’t miss the lobster escargot! I was able to have a decaf espresso martini that was made just right. My fiancé ordered the classic Paper Plane cocktail. A truly great dining experience

Old school steakhouse. I love places like this. Staff is constantly replacing your napkins and silverware. It’s almost too much. Food is phenomenal. Steak steak steak!!!

Horribly noisy. My wife and I could not hear each other speak. Food was ok but $300 plus for dinner. Never again. We couldn’t leave fast enough.

Food, atmosphere & service were all exceptional. Our server, Alyssa, was fantastic and happy to give suggestions to first time visitors.

So. Good. And I don’t usually like steak and it was phenomenal. Gabriel was a wonderful server and made a great guest experience

Gabriel was an absolute connoisseur of a host!!!!! Knowledgeable and engaging, he was able to advise on choice of cut, drink and dessert!!! If he had broken into a rendition of Louis Armstrong, I would not have been surprised!!! Definitely the highlight of the night. Oh and the food was excellent as well. Pic ANY cut o n the menu...we sampled a few amongst the lot us us and all were tender, tasty and prepared to request.

Had a beautiful evening outside. The patio has fountains and perfect when there is good weather. Miguel was a great server.

Miguel, our waiter was very accommodating, pleasant and provided excellent service. The food was hot, delicious and my dessert was sumptuous.

Dinner and the whole dining experience was excellent! Gabe did an amazing job the whole meal, and we loved everything! Service was fantastic!

Definitely will be back. Food, service and atmosphere were Old School Chicago. Service was excellent and attentive with Olivia. Thank you! Looking forward to seeing you again soon!

They first seated us at an awful table next to the kitchen, but were responsive when we asked to move. We had the best dinner in a long time: wedge salad, huge crab cake, charred prime rib, done perfectly. Every dish (including the complimentary bread) seemed upgraded since our last visit. JB was our server and he was awesome! Very attentive and friendly, and funny, but not overbearing--perfect. Best prime rib (only on Saturdays) EVER, and I have had them all. Played nice old-school Chicago steakhouse classic music, and not too loud.

My husband and I were here twice within one week. We brought our friends🧡on Sundsy evening. Our server, Alyssa, was an Amazing young lady. She was personable, attentive, and had a awesome personality. She made us feel very welcomed😍.

The Chicago Chop House is one of our favorite restaurants in the city. Your visit begins with a warm welcome by hostess Victoria. Since we eat there regularly, she always has our favorite table ready and waiting. Shortly after settling in at your table, a server appears to explain the menu and take drink orders. On our most recent visit, we enjoyed being served by Fanny. Fanny is new to the Chop House, but you would never know it from her efficiency and knowledge of the menu. Like the other servers we have had, she knew just when we needed something without hovering over us. She is a worthy addition to a staff of superior servers. Needless to say, the food was excellent. We started with the Oysters Rockefeller. Then, I had prime rib for the main course while my wife enjoyed the Chilean seabass (yes, this steak house knows how to prepare a top-notch seabass). Victor, the manager, ensures that the entire restaurant runs smoothly and that every visit is a culinary delight.

The food was so delicious! We had the French Onion Soup and Oyster Rockefeller to start. For entrees we got the Prime Rib and Wet-Aged Filet. Everything was impeccable. One of the best meals we have had in a very long time. The only thing better than the food was the service. Rick K. was our server and he made this experience unforgettable. He was so attentive and personable. I would highly recommend to anyone! Thank you Chicago Chop House and Rick for such an enjoyable experience!

Come for the prime rib. Stay for the gangsters. We recommend the Iconoclast cabernet. It's their most popular wine for a reason.

We celebrated my son’s 22nd birthday at the Chicago Chop House - amazing dinner. We started off with Oysters on the Half Shell and Lobster Bites with Crostini. My son got the Tomahawk Rib Eye and was thrilled! Rest of us had Filet Mignon and Chicken Parm. We splurged on the Godiva Lava Cake and Key Lime Pie for dessert. Despite the frigid January temperature, we were nice and cozy within the well-heated, enclosed patio tent. Well done, Chop House!!

Visited for the second time, and they surely met Our expectations. Great welcome, fantastic service by Austin and the others, and the steaks and sides were simply delicious.

Our order was wrong when they brought it to our table. We ordered two different steaks. The one was wrong. Instead of replacing both steaks they put the one in the oven to keep warm. Was dry and not very good when they bought it out.

I can not say enough good things about the food here. The service was also exceptional. We had Gabriel as our server and he was extremely attentive. He was thorough with the menu and even gave us some AMAZING recommendations. I will be returning here for special occasions in the future. There’s so many menu options that one visit doesn’t allow you the time to try them. Highly recommend! Also they offer valet.

I am a Chicagoan. We dine out frequently and have been becoming more and more disappointed in the service at restaurants in our city. Another instance was last night at Chicago Chophouse. I had reserved a table there at 6:30 on December 10th. When we arrived last night, only half of the restaurant was open - the lower area where the bar is and hightop tables only. The young hostess showed me to a table in the middle of the room, not acceptable when there were tables along the wall much better suited to conversation. When I asked for one of those she said, "Those are for reservations", when she said this AGAIN, I reminded her that I had a reservation too. She left and "checked" with someone and gave us one of the tables by the wall. Busboys quickly brought water and bread but no waiter, finally came by and his attitude was one of I don't give a -- about your being here. Whatever, he finally brought drinks, wanted to hurry us, etc. We ordered and my fish was raw. Now had to try finding him, finally we caught a busboy whom we asked to find our waiter. He did. The fish was taken back and came back cooked very well. My friend's steak was perfect. So food very good but service and attitude not good at all. This place is definitely off our list. There are many steakhouses in Chicago to choose from so no need to go back to this place.

Outstanding food and service. Alyssa was so good. Made an incredible experience for us on a special night. Cowgirl ribeye was amazing.

Such a cute location right across from Hard Rock Chicago and Portillo's. The "old house" has three floors full of history and conversations. We celebrated here for our 20th anniversary. The staff called ahead and asked if they could make personalized menus for us. Wow! Our servers were always close by and kept the glasses full. My wife and I had the filet with a crab cake. We ordered mashed potatoes (creamed) and roasted corn. Everything was cooked to perfection and amazing. They made us a complementary dessert with "Happy Anniversary" written on the plate with chocolate. The restaurant is expensive, no dispute. But for a special occasion, it was worth every penny. From Atlanta, you want a special visit to be just that. Chop House did not disappoint. Hopefully we'll be back for our 40th. Thanks Chop House crew ... you were incredible!

We had a really nice experience here. Loved the outdoor space. They did a great job managing two young children. And the food was excellent

I always thought this was a tourist trap of sorts but despite my perception, ended up eating there with a group of colleagues. This restaurant is not for the faint of heart because it is quite expensive. Most of the entrees go for over $30, but if you are willing to pay these prices, then you are in for a gratifying experience. Split on two floors, the first floor has a gorgeous bar and high-top tables. It was more of an informal area, with television screens showing games, but at the same time it was pretty quiet. The second floor is your typical dining area with regular tables. I found this area to be a bit cramped and noisy (they had the music a tad too loud). We would have been better off eating downstairs. Everything we ordered was excellent. There were six of us and we all opted to order 3 tomahawk steaks to share. The steaks were perfectly cooked and juicy, but i think the steak could have been seasoned more, at least with salt and pepper. This place is good for a very special occasion.

Our dinner was wonderful. Not only was the dinner delicious but our waiter Jose could not have been nicer or more attentive making the experience very enjoyable. My husband and I look forward to dining there again soon.

We had a great experience, and really enjoyed ourselves. We sat outside with Nikolai as our server, and he did not steer us wrong at all. We each had a steak (cooked perfectly) and shared all our sides - the roasted corn was delicious. One of us is a celiac, so gluten-free was essential, Nikolai knew and made sure everything served was GF, he was very knowledgeable and careful. Thanks so much to the team. We will be back.

Classic old world steakhouse. Steak, service and atmosphere were excellent. On par with the best NYC steakhouses. You will not be disappointed.

the food wasn't good and it's way over price I order the lobster and it was over cooked and the mac and cheese lobster was burnt.

A classic Chicago steakhouse great for friends, business and special occasions. Never a disappointment with a lovely wine menu and impeccable service.

Grace was absolutely fabulous and attentive as a server. The atmosphere was amazing and relaxing and the food was exquisite..

I have been coming to Chicago Chop house ever since I was little. I make it a point to go at least twice a year on special occasions. I am never disappointed. The service, atmosphere and food are top notch. Best steakhouse in Chicago and I've tried them all. Don't change a thing.

Absolutely amazing dining experience! The food, atmosphere and service were all fantastic. Loved the lobster bisque and the filet was top notch. Lava cake was worth every calorie. Victor was a gracious and professional host and Fanny was an excellent server. Highly recommend Chicago Chop House!

Our server Grace was nice and patient! The food was great as always! The garlic butter tastes great on everything. Nice ambiance!

We had a work dinner here and frankly wouldn’t come back. First service was subpar...this was a surprise as most Chicago steakhouses have exceptional service. We literally sat there with waters on the table waiting and waiting for the waiter to take a drink order. After the drink orders we waited and waited again to get menus and it went on and on. Steak was just ok...a filet. Brussels sprouts were hard. Definitely not a a Gibson’s steakhouse. .. Won’t be back

My boyfriend and I have lived in Chicago for over 10 years and decided to finally visit Chicago Chop House for a nice holiday dinner. We came on a Friday evening- made a reservation and were seated promptly on the second floor. It was a nice space, exposed brick, interesting decor and old world feel- but the room was, well, pretty empty. Our servers were a bit slow- despite not being very busy. During our dinner, two different tables got up and left because it took too long to be greeted by any sort of staff. Our dinner itself was fine. Nothing spectacular, steak, potatoes, Manhattans- the usual. We did ask for the price on the dry aged bone in filet (listed on their menu it's Market Price) and we were told it was $89- however on their website it's listed as $71. Seemed like a huge difference, but we chose a petite filet and a wet aged bone in filet instead. The issue came when we got our bill. We had two gift cards. One was a credit card style gift card and one was an email gift card (we received both from family members who knew we had been wanting to visit the Chicago Chop House). The first card for $75 (credit card) went thru no problem. The email print out was only going thru for $50 according to our server- despite it saying $100 on it. He was very polite, and we asked him to run it again, which he obliged. After a few minutes a man came to our table and introduced himself as a manager. He asked if we had any other "evidence" of this card being worth $100- since he's never seen this email gift certificate before. As I was pulling it up on my phone he began to ramble and said something along the lines of- "well you have to understand, I've worked here two years and never seen a certificate like this, so how do I know you didn't just write that in..." which rubbed us both the wrong way. His tone was condescending and demeaning. I pulled up the email on my phone (which links directly to their website) but before he would look at it he kept insisting this isn't worth $100. To which my boyfriend finally said "We just want the value of our gift cards- she has the email here. We would like to just pay and be on our way, this hasn't been a great experience." Now the manager wanted to know what we meant by this- to which we described getting our appetizer plate with a long black hair on it. We didn't make a scene, just quietly asked the server to bring a new plate- which he did. No mention again. Now I didn't mention this earlier, because we weren't looking for anything free- we were just trying to enjoy our dinner. Now that the manager was talking loudly about our supposedly fraudulent gift card in front of other guests we were mortified and spoke about our true experience. We asked him to run it again, and showed the email when he got frustrated and insisted he would take care of the tab and we should have a Merry Christmas in a very passive aggressive tone. I felt humiliated. Our tab was around $300 and our gift cards were valued at $175. That's all we wanted- our gift card value deducted from the total. I was mortified by how the manager spoke to us and we left a cash tip (he refused to run our card for any amount so we could leave gratuity) and ran out. I would never go back based on the service, price and management. There are far too many other restaurants, especially steak houses, in Chicago for us to ever step foot there again.

The steaks at The Chicago Chop House are so amazing. I was craving a steak, and the Chop House is the best! We had the Caprese salad, dry aged petite filet, with garlic sautéed spinach, and finished with the creme brûlée. We have a goodie bag for lunch tomorrow.

Attended the Chicago Chop House for a dinner with colleagues from work. The restaurant has the traditional steak house feel, with old pictures and signs adoring the wall to give it that 1920’s period feel. We were seated at an eight top with seven in our party. The server was attentive but the time for our drinks to make it to the table took way too long. This was a problem the entire night. Our server apologized several times and even gave us two free drinks but it was annoying for such an expensive restaurant. The menu has several different cuts of wet and dry aged steaks, from tomahawk ribeyes to grand porterhouse steaks. The sides are family style with several choices. They have the typical seafood choices like scallops, lump crab, etc...wrap that up with several salad and soup choices and you have the picture. We all ordered steaks ranging from the low $50’s to the high $70’s in price per steak. We added soups and or salads along with three of the family sides, broccoli, bacon Brussels sprouts and the bacon cheese mashed potatoes. The steaks were good, the salads and soups were also good and the sides were ok. Our bill came in at just over $1000 dollars with a 20 % tip. While the steak was good, I gave the restaurant three stars because of the price of the meal, if you pay over a grand, there should be no issues. The drink delays and the average sides were the difference.

Elegant upscale place we found by chance. Food was amazing, we will visit again when we go back this year. A bit pricey, but worthy.

Outstanding service provided by Joshua. Delicious food: lobster bisque, chop salad, creamed spinach and ribeye. Would recommend to anyone. Everyone was upbeat and pleasant. Final touch was the piano player Rob.

Our server Gabe was amazing , he dropped everything to help us and the staff was great too. The atmosphere was great too, then the food was exceptional as usual.

The Chicago Chop House was fabulous! The food was excellent and our server, Grace, was wonderful! She was so warm and welcoming, but also so polished and professional! She made the evening perfect!

I have eaten here several times over the years - but this last time was the best by far! We had a Delmonico and a petite filet - both dry aged, split a giant loaded baked potato, and had a side of mushrooms. The food was spectacular! Our service was superb - thank you, Ramon and bartender, Lorenzo!! Our bill, including several cocktails, was $290 tipped-out - yes pricey, but sooo darn good!

The steaks are to die for! Wonderful selection of sides and wines! Great list of desserts…but who has room for that?? Gabriel was the best!

The food the drinks the service the atmosphere were all top notch. Waitstaff was very friendly and happy to answer questions and make suggestions. Would absolutely eat here again. The only drawback is it is very pricey.

We visit Chicago annually and Chicago Chop House is always our first dinner out. This year our trip coincided with our wedding anniversary. Our server Alyssa provided first-rate service and we had a wonderful evening and delicious meal.

If you're in Chicago, then you must put the Chop House on your list of places to go. Other high end steak houses with their 3 hour waits or 9:30pm reservation availability pale in comparison. Chop House rules, and seriously, rivals any other high end steakhouses I've visited around the countr. I got the 12 oz filet which was cooked perfectly! I had the Danish blue cheese as an addition on my steak. Wife had the garlic butter as her side to her filet and it was amazing! The chop salad was incredible. Our waiter, Gabriel, was professional in every. A knowledgable expert in his craft. Creme Brulee for dessert. I'll DEFINITELY return here! Best place in Chicago!

Lovely and our server Fanny did a wonderful job.Good Knowledge of the menu and suggestions. She gave me a complimentary desert for my birthday.

What a gem for Chicago. The food was delicious - be sure to try the Baked Alaska for dessert. Rick and team provided outstanding service. His recommendations were spot on and were just what we were looking for. I think you will be very happy going here.

If you're looking for a top-tier steakhouse experience in Chicago, The Chop House delivers on every level. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was elegant but not stuffy—dim lighting, rich wood tones, and that classic steakhouse feel that instantly sets the tone for a memorable night. The service was impeccable—attentive without being overbearing, and our server knew the menu inside and out. We started with a variety of appetizers (absolutely divine) and they were perfect. Now the steak… wow. Cooked to perfection, seasoned just right, and melted in your mouth. Pair it with one of their incredible sides (the truffle mac & cheese is a must), and you’re in for a serious treat. Their wine list is extensive, and the sommelier helped us find the perfect pairing. Whether you’re celebrating something special or just want to treat yourself, The Chop House is a Chicago gem that never disappoints. We’ll definitely be back!

Excellent food and dessert Excellent servicer provider Gabe Excellent atmosphere Excellent time with me girl friend

Excellent food, but a disappointing overall experience. We were seated next to a table of eight, several of whom were intoxicated, loud, and using the F word liberally. Four of them left the building twice for a "smoke break." We could see them smoking marijuana on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant. Our servers were so busy dealing with this obnoxious table that they had little time for us. Perhaps the restaurant can't be held responsible for the behavior of their customers, but we were also customers. We did not enjoy the atmosphere and service was not up to standards. We have dined at this restaurant several times, appreciate the excellent food, but probably won't be back. For the price of dinner at this restaurant, they need to ring all the bells in order to deliver value. They failed for us tonight.

From the food, service and wines all EXCELLENT! I ordered the Prime Rib. It was cooked to perfection. Paired with a MALBEC. Service was awesome and friendly One suggestions, bring your prices down a bit... $60.00 for an Argentinian wine is a bit over the top when they cost about $8-$10.00...

Grace was a fantastic server, very attentive and had great pairing advice. The food was delicious- highly recommend prime rib and lobster, fettuccine, & french onion soup. The apple pie was huge & great to share with homemade gelato to die for!

First time to dine at Chicago Chop House. Even a pescatarian has options here. Fanny waited on us, along with a group of attentive wait staff, water, bread, everyone was great. We sat downstairs, cozy & quiet. Delicious meal. I enjoyed the lobster escargot, chopped salad (hold the bacon) & cherry pie.

What a great experience we had today, just awesome service from the hostess the wait staff and manager. They went above and beyond and really gave my family an amazing holiday experience. The steaks m, prime rib were perfect. Side dishes of mashed potatoes and cairn also prepared perfectly. Topped it all off with some Baked Alaska, cherry pie, cheese cake and pumpkin pie. Great place for a date night or family dinner.

We were celebrating our 4 year anniversary and Fanny was our waitress and she was amazing. She was quick and understanding of a food allergy and went above and beyond to make it a memorable dinner. Food was amazing and came out perfect and quick. I have no complaints about Chicago Chop House and I’d come back again and again.

Excellent steak. Strong wine list. Great atmosphere. Our server Jose did a great job. All in all it was a great evening. Exceeded our expectations.

I was not disappointed at all. This restaurant lived up to it’s reputation. I had a wonderful waitress who made my dining experience even more memorable. My steak was cooked to perfection - dry aged Filet. My dinner cocktail, a whistle pig (10 year) old fashioned was scrumptious. The mushrooms and baked potato accompaniments were delicious. The price for this memorable meal was on the high side.

Every time I'm in town I visit this place - I simply love it! The service is great (they know a lot about their wines!). The food is simply excellent. I had a lobster bisque as a starter and the prime rib as a main course. Next to the good food and the nice people working there I enjoy the atmosphere - very classy. On the walls there's a ton of pictures that show the old Chicago and the piano player plays tunes from Sinatra an other famous musicians.

We were excited to dine at The Chop House, having heard such great things. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the filet’s we had were close to the best. We found a few areas lacking which ruined our experience. We both ordered the petite filet, on the menu for $59. We didn’t realize until after we left that although we ordered the same dish, one was $79, the other $89! We are modest people. In fact my husband wanted the “grand filet” to which I encouraged the petite based upon price. Second, we ordered a second round of drinks (which were delicious) to have with dinner. We ate, waited, gave up figuring they were forgotten. As our plates were being cleared, the drinks arrived. We weren’t really in the mood for them at this point, but what could we do? We ordered them and were embarassed to send them back. So with full drinks, dinner done, we ordered the peach pie. Again, delicious. I feel we should have been told the filet’s were going to add $50 onto the bill. Everything else was our splurge (although if we knew the second drink would be that late, we would mot have ordered them). $50 unexpected on our bill was a tough surprise.

Gabe was excellent and dinner was amazing. Everyone was so accommodating. We ordered everything, including calamari appetizer, wedge salad, French onion soup, prime rib, creamed spinich, I would recommend ALL! Will be back next time we find ourselves in the Windy City!

There are many great steak places in downtown Chicago but we saw the menu on line and it had steaks starting at $28.00 so we chose to go here. The menu on line was not the same as at restaurant. The meal was fine but not that exciting for the $200 we paid. I had chicken an my husband had prime rib. We each had a salad an I had a $18.00 glass of wine that was half full. My husband had one mixed drink an we shared a dessert. Total was $206.00 they addd an 18 percent tip automatically. The atmosphere was nice but there were two large parties near us so was loud. Id say check out some where else for the money.

Ok, the prices are not cheap but it’s worth treating yourself sometimes. This isn’t my favorite Chicago steakhouse but that’s just my personal preference. Overall, this is an excellent restaurant, great steaks and great service.

We had a fantastic night. Louis was our waiter and made us feel at home. My husband had the chopped salad and lobster bisque soup. I had the shrimp scampi. Both were very good. The soup especially was delicious. We shared the 12 oz filet and it was delicious. Desserts were huge. My husband had the creme brule and tells me it was very good. I had the pumpkin cheesecake and it is exactly what you would hope for. My only complaint would be the wine list did not offer a lot of affordable options. I like to spend $250 or less and while I did find a few options and were very happy with our choice, I feel they should expand the possibilities. Overall an excellent evening.

Don’t waste your time with this place. The staff treats you as if you’re just an inconvenience. The girl with the pink hair is especially rude. Food was weak and not cooked how we ordered. Huge disappointment and overpriced.

We ate at Chicago Chop for a business event. The food was excellent, the environment was cosy, but the most impressive experience was having Gabe as our server. He was thoughtful in ordering for our table, he was kind, patient and the best server I have ever had at restaurant. He made the whole evening a very memorable experience. Thank you Gabe. Chicago Chop is lucky to have you.

I have had plenty of expensive steak dinners. I and my colleagues meet up at least once yearly for a "we don't care how much it costs" dinner. We have been to Gibson's, Shula's, Capital Grille, and several more like them. We selected Chicago Chop House while visiting downtown Chicago and have absolutely no regrets. The Chop House is a skinny four-story building. The first floor has a live pianist. We wanted to have a good conversation so we were seated on the second floor. The music was piped to the second floor, but at a volume that did not encroach on our conversation. Our wait staff were both attentive and informative, making sure we fully understood our options. I had an aged bone-in filet. I have had aged steaks before, but this was simply outstanding! The flavor was very rich, and it was cooked to perfection. The sides were passed with the other guests. I can't remember all of them, but every one of them was fantastic. We finished off with dessert, and the food & beverage manager stopped by just then. My colleage pointed at the dessert menu and before he could ask, the manager simply said "Cherry Pie". We laughed, ordered it, and were blown away. He was right, it was amazing! Yes, it was expensive. But that was the point. And of all the expensive dinners I have had, this was by far the best. I would not hesitate to go back.

Been here prior to covid Had a great time and great food too This time it was the same great food , service was excellent. Always happy to come back to great steaks Will always return here when in Chicago

Place seems to have lost a bit over the years. Decor is great. Ambiance is ok. Only business types can afford to eat here so it gets loud. Service pushes “special prep” quite a bit but it is almost never worth it. The steak & sides were really good but you can find the same for less down the block. Really good but not the great experience I was looking for.

This is an amazing restaurant. We had a great Thanksgiving dinner. Everything about this restaurant is very good. The ambiance, the menu choices, and the service are just outstanding. Thank you to our waiter, Jose for making this night even more enjoyable. His personality matches his excellent customer service. We highly recommend this gem!

I traveled here on business back in December and have yet to find a steak half as good as the one I had when I visited here. I ordered the dry aged rib eye and it was cooked to perfection. The potato side was a great choice and went well with the perfectly charred steak. They were able to make it Pittsburg style which is what I enjoy. I read through a few of the other reviews on here and don't agree with what they said about service. We had a great experience and thought the servers were incredibly accommodating. Someone at our table was served the wrong appetizer, but they quickly brought out the correct food and did not charge him for the minor mishap. Location is great, parking was found nearby and overall I hope that I will be able to do business nearby again soon to satisfy my craving.

My wife and friends treated me on my birthday at this restaurant. We all were came from Houston, TX. Our family friends lived here recommented us this one! It was little expensive(?)... but all foods were great! Staffs were nice and helpful. Seem like prices, in general, in Chicago were little prices than Houston(?). Morton Steak and Gibson Steak... were in the same prices or little more!!! You will like it here!!! Bon Appetit(?)...

I work with a worldwide network of exhibition freight partners. They have hosted meals in some of the world’s finest restaurants. I got to return the favor in Chicago. I chose Chicago Chop House because it is American steakhouse food at its highest level. The bar is terrific, the service is awesome. But, the steaks are front and center. Most of my guests had never been served dry aged steak so we ordered a mixed selection of steaks and had an informal tasting. This was a huge hit. It was a night to remember.

Food was great a ND service was quick. Fanny was super friendly and helpful in helping us decide what to order. Would highly recommend Fanny and the Chop House

We have a fantastic time here - I never leave here in anything but a fantastic mood. Our server Rick was really fun, the live piano was superb and our food was perfect. 👍🏼 We are always here, will come back over and over.

From start to finish the best dining experience ever! The service, the atmosphere the food! Everything was absolutely perfect!

If you must climb the stairs to be seated on the third floor...do it! If you must wait an hour for a table...wait! If you are a meat lover who likes his meat cooked exactly how you order it, you are in the right place. You’re waiters are no nonsense Chicago guys..they want your experience to be good and they make sure that happens.. all ala carte. You want potatoes or spinach or fries their extra. We make it a mission to get there anytime we’re near Chicago....great drinks and beer selection.. a win win.

Frankly very disappointed with this restaurant. Expected amazing food and meat as it is reasonably well located in Chicago, in an interesting old building. Had a look at the menu before booking and made the mistake of thinking that with prices similar to other fine steak houses, this would make the mark. Prime Rib was tough and tasteless, Brussels Sprouts were “greasy”. Service was very good, staff were courteous, but food is bellow par.

I had the prime rib, which was on the excellent side of very good. Sadly the bone marrow was off but the duke of bacon was both very tasty and very large It's all very old-fashioned classy, so i wouldn't go with a big group, but if you're basically going for the food (and have deep pockets) it's a good choice

Perfection! I do not know how this place is not more famous. The ambiance, the service, the music, and the food are all spectacular. The steak was so tender it didn’t need a knife to cut. Ilayna offered a superb service. Best experience! Thank you Chicago Chop House.

The wife and I visited the Chicago Chop House on a visit to the city for a Cubs game. We had every intention on splurging on a steak house experience while in Chicago. After doing some research we decided on CCH after unsuccessful attempts to get reservations at another restaurant. We were seated on the 3rd floor in a relatively small dining room. The waitress was very attentive and personable. She made a lot of recommendations but wasn’t pushy about it. We skipped the appetizers and decided to get an extra side. We ordered drinks which were run of mill, I had whiskey and my wife a martini. We each ordered filets, I got the grand filet butterflied at medium and she had petite at medium. My steak was PERFECT! The temperature was perfect and seasoned well. My wife’s petite was was good according to her. We ordered broccolini, mashed potatoes, and wild mushrooms. All were better than average but nothing exceptional. The steak was the champion. If I can give one bad take about the menu it would be the dessert. I wouldn’t recommend it. Overall it was a dam good meal and experience.

Felt ignored for most of the evening. Slow service, average steak. For this price, you can do much better in Chicago. Look elsewhere.

Lovely restaurant hidden between buildings in the middle of Ontario st. They have an outside seating that is very cute with water fountains and heaters for chilly evenings. The food is amazing we ordered the prime steaks 12. oz very big for one person. For appetizer we had baked oysters. Fill your wallet as the prices are very expensive but worth it. Many thanks to Gorgeous our attendance and to Carlos the fastest server I have ever seen, so energetic and full of enthusiasm. We will definitely go back with our young adult children.

Slow service!!!! We watched people who came in after us receive food while we waited another 15-20 minutes. Waiter didn’t check on us & had to get his attention to find out what was the delay with our food. Forgot my sisters drink so we cancelled it. Waiter said he would bring a Lava cake for the mistake but brought out a cold Lava cake so cold there the chocolate didn’t come out of cake at all. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Highly disappointed Fathers Day Dinner

Appetizers the lobster and cheese was blah. We ordered the cowgirl steak, not impressed medium cane medium well. The creamed spinach was bland and the latke potatoes greasy. Didn’t like it at all.

Pretty good. They don’t have Jameson at the bar but have Tullamore Dew for those looked for Irish Whiskey. The steaks were cooked perfectly and all seemed very happy. Service was good but seemed to take awhile to get the good. Outdoor and indoor seating. Sides were ok but not special.

Stopped in Tuesday early evening after reading about a promotion they were having. Realized I oddly hadn't been to CCH before. We sat on the first floor where there were only a few tables seated. Old school Chicago gangster/politician steak house ambiance. Service with Rick was excellent. Extremely attentive and (helpfully) informative without being too present. Lobster Escargot was excellent. The three of us split the bone-in ribeye with three separate turf attachments, Cobb salad, Brussels sprouts, and mushrooms. Came out on a custom tray. Service and food was top quality

Fanny was an excellent server and food was delicious. We greatly recommend this restaurant for a lovely experience. The atmosphere was romantic and music classic.

We really enjoyed our food. It was prepared very well. The bread was out of this world. Was piping hot and tasted incredible. The best part though was the service. Gabe was our waiter and he took such good care of us.

Booked Reservation for 630pm, waited two hours to be seated, told by hostess for the third time they could not give an estimate as to when the table would be ready. Looking around no tables had food. Need less to say, we left without dinner at 830pm. Promptly seat at another restaurant without a reservation.

We had a reservation and then 20 minutes they tell us we had 15 people ahead.

Reservations are definitely recommended as this place is Hopping. Everything was exceptional from start to finish. They have a lot to choose from if your not in the mood for steak. Fortunately we were and loved every ounce of the prime rib and wagyu. It just melted in your mouth. The crab cake was amazing as was the Truffle Mac and Cheese. Service was top notch , fast and friendly. The piano player was a nice touch. We walked there but if you drive they offer valet parking service. Highly recommend this place for dinner and we will be back soon to try the brunch.

Have always enjoyed coming here. It is located in a renovated building that is 125 years old and has wonderful ambience. Our waiter, Gabe, was fantastic. Very attentive and informative without being intrusive. The dry aged steaks, both had grand filets, were delicious and cooked perfectly. Although our side choices were standard, grilled corn and cheddar potatoes, they were just as wonderful as the steaks.
Awesome food, drinks and time
How absolutely awesome of a time! Thank you Chop house! My Sorors and I loved the personalized menus, the awesome drinks and the great company. Victor, Alejandro and Corey are amazing.
