Not only is the food delicious but the wait staff is friendly and pleasant. They really take care of you here

I was there for a convention, I am not sure I would have chosen it otherwise. I like closer proximity to sites, metro stops. This is okay. Lines for food and amenities seemed long.

While I didn't stay at the hotel, I spent 3 solid days wandering the halls, elevators and 1st, 2nd, 3rd floor rooms. The meal served were delicious (even when serving 1,000+ people) and the service was above par. I felt welcomed. My only concern, and it's something that probably can't be helped architecturally, is how bothersome the columns are in the middle of some of the meeting rooms. Otherwise, great location, felt sophisticated and they did all they could to give us a great experience.

Quite a historic hotel with a beautiful foyer. Ballrooms are beautiful, it's been featured in popular media frequently... but honestly that's all it had going for it. Check in staff agressively tried to upsell, house cleaning often just placed dirty towels and sheets back on the shelves. Checkout was rude, you have to pay for them to hold your bags once you check out. Rather dissapointed all around. Stay somewhere else.

Open late night, delivered fabulous turkey club and fries to our room at about midnight. Service was quick and friendly.

The access to the executive lounge was a highlight of my time here with outstanding customer service and offered a brief respite from a hectic conference!

Great iconic place! Great job maintaining the "old" feel - but not a new vibe. Not impressed with the GIANT tv services interface... Westins do this with sleek iPads rather than huge, intrusive monitors. I'm in the IT biz - and it took me 10 min to order room service... Not intuitive. The hotel manager did work the front desk and was very gracious... But he's not enough.

Had an amazing time at the Chicago Hilton!! From check in to check out service was impeccable! They have new technology which allows you to address questions or concerns answered quickly through text which was quite savvy!! Food at Kitty O'Sheas was amazing. The room we reserved had 2 yes 2 full bathrooms and 2 double beds which is ideal for anyone wanting to share a room at an affordable cost and with great convenience!! Can't wait to stay again!!

We stayed here for our family trip/vacation to Chicago. The website reviews are everything it claims it is. Things here seem to be expensive (from a Michigander's opinion). It does offer alot, and the hotel has class! It is farther away from the magnificent mile than I expected which is where we spent some time. I guess this was it's biggest downfall. I would recommend it.

Really nice hotel in a historic building across from the where the 1892 Chicago World Fair Expo took place. Wished there was more information on the Expo. Too bad there are no remaining sites. Hotel had great accommodations at reason rates, clean rooms, comfortable beds, bedroom with 2 beds and 2 bathrooms available, nice pool n jacuzzi ( 1 of 2 wasn't working well, but I can't handle the heat anyway). Great location if you plan on using the City Pass, which we did and did everything in 2 1/2 days! City Pass well worth the money. Hotel is close to great restaurants and deep dish pizzerias, department stores and Magnificent Mile and Museum Mile and The Bean. Uber's and taxis readily available, but we walked a lot. Nice city.

I ate at the grab and go in the hotel. It was good for a grab and go. They do serve Starbucks products at this location so that was a plus.

The Chicago Hilton is a lovely old hotel which still has much of its charm the common areas and the ballroom. The service was very good, and I found staff were very helpful and friendly. However, I upgraded to a junior suite and was very disappointed. It is obvious they combined two rooms, however they kept the same old small, tiny bathroom that could barely hold one person, and if you didn't close the door you couldn't maneouvre at all. In the open area (presumably where a room used to reside) there was just that - an open area - but it would have been better to have a small couch and chair instead of only one chair. The bed was very comfortable for sure. The towels were sparse, and on one occasion we had none at all and it required two requests in order to get them. We had no other small amenities in our washroom such as Q-tips, makeup removers, etc. That seems pretty basic to me. My general impression is no matter how great the staff, these are tired rooms and they need to be renovated, updated and stocked given the level of the room rental.

The Chicago Hilton is located on South Michigan Avenue and is one of the largest hotels in town. It has been the hotel of presidents, and the presidential suite on the top floor is a huge, two-story apartment with three bedrooms a kitchen and several bathrooms. it also comes with a helipad and a great view of the lake. The ground floor has a couple of restaurants a couple of bars and retail outlets. The physical plant is dated and the entire hotel could use a refreshing. Service has always been an issue, and the wait staff is accustomed to deal with out-of-towners who are by definition, transients. Service in the restaurants can be impersonal and slow. Finding a taxi during rush hour traffic can be a challenge. We happened to be in town during the two U2 concerts. You couldn't find a taxi or an Uber driver for hours!

This is a very classy hotel with every amenity imaginable. Although the rooms are fairly small (in keeping with the architectural style of its era), they are very well appointed. I have stayed at this hotel during conventions in Chicago (RSNA) for many consecutive years and consider it my favorite by far.

Bad quality in every aspect. I cannot recommend this place. Horrible and greasy food. Nothing fresh.

The yummiest breakfast grub after that festive night out. A perfectly cooked burger topped with an egg over easy, and don't forget the street fair style fries. All that with a chilly Two Hearted IPA, is another best beginning to a sunny Chicago day!

Great breakfast with a superb omelette. Loads of choices and beautiful fruit. More than I could eat!

Rooms were great, staff very nice and the Banquet Chef AMAZING. We had filet during our banquet and it was as good as I have ever eaten.

We ate in the hotel one evening and we were very pleased with the quality of the food and the service.

Very few people were in it- and it was limited menu so I was not hopeful- but my very nice waitress praised the chicken and so I decided to get it- and it was delicious. Not overcooked- really well seasoned, very good bed of vegetables and well cooked fingerling potatoes.. I also had their mini desert of mango cheesecake- which was not memorable but still very good. Not a bad place to have dinner if you are in the hotel- the chef that night obviously cared about his cooking ( somewhat more than I think the hotel tries to accommodate its customers).

We are staying for three nights as a city break and to see the Bears. First impressions were great. The building is charismatic with a stunning lobby and the staff are friendly. It was a shame that the room didn’t live up to the first impressions. We had agreed to an upgrade by email at an extra $35 per night and had to ask reception on check-in whether that had been implemented. The upgrade took us to a king room with a lake view. We were basically given a very average standard room with a king bed and you could just about see the lake in between two of the hotel walls. The bedroom and bathroom were very minimal compared to other international hotels around the world, with the following issues: The maid service wasn’t automatic. We were asked on check-in whether we wanted the room made up each day (odd). No separate shower. There was an old fashioned shower curtain in the bath. No separate hand shower for hair wash only. No complimentary bath robe or slippers. The bedroom lacked a kettle, although had tea bags. We asked reception for a kettle and still didn’t receive one. Mini fridge was empty. No NFL Network on the TV (TV was actually a good size). In short, the Hilton experience was bang average and meh! We chose the Hilton because of the brand name and it’s close proximity to Soldier Field. In future, I think we’ll go back to the Fairmont and jump in a cab!

It's a beautiful place, overlooking the park. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. I was not there long enough to eat or drink there but the proximity to the Chicago marathon was very important to me. We had the pleasure to be upgraded to a suite on the 23rd floor overlooking the lake. Would definitely be back there again.

Have stayed at a few other Hilton properties in Chicago on prior visits but decided to check this one out. Conveniently located on Michigan Ave within close proximity to Grant Park. Rooms were spacious, clean and very quiet. Went for a girls weekend and loved the option for rooms with 2 queen beds and 2 full bathrooms in each room. This was a life saver and a huge hit for the group. Great service as I'm used to with Hilton properties. The hotel is huge and has conferences as well as weddings happening at the same time. I do wish there was a better bar/lounge area other than Kitty O'Sheas as sometimes after walking around the city, you like to spread out and relax outside the room. Staff were friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay again!

The hotel is fine. Room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good but over priced. There was no noise from the hallways, but every single night there was LOUD music from across the street. Loud. Kid couldn’t hear TV in the room over it. This was every night. It was infuriating.

Room and environment was excellent! The staff was very bubbly and outgoing. I had the pleasure of meeting a Mr. Ioannis Vragkos, who was very helpful. During the lollapalooza rush the security was amazing! Great stay!

This is the official Chicago Marathon hotel and the location is perfect for the race! Pros Remodeled room Junior suite has a living room and wet bar Friendly checkin with short line The Market in the lobby had vegan gelato! Offer texting with a hotel representative. Cons Really poor selection in club lounge. Not even a cookie or brownie at night. It's not worth the money. View of another building with a slight view of the lake from our room. Our hallway was really warm with damp carpet and a mildew smell. I'm not sure what was going on, but it pretty gross.

We stayed in a corner room facing the lake so the views were very beautiful. It did come with alot of wind noise through the window. The bed and pillows were really comfortable. Huge TV's in the room, like 65" which took over half the room and almost a full window. Thehotel is about a 15-20 minute walk into the city centre. Its location to the famous Buddy Guys blues club is the best as it is literally around the corner. Also a fabulous hamburger place down the road (Burger Bar Chicago); and of course the great Kitty O'Shea. Staying at this grand ol lady of a hotel comes with understanding that the rooms comes with a bit of age, and I don't see that the rooms have been renovated in some years. However the rooms are comfortable and I would stay here again.

Location out of main activity region of lake shore drive. Hotel is renovating and some rooms and floors are nicer than others.

This end of Michigan Avenue was very convenient to our visit to the Field Museum. We walked there through the park. The hotel "wows" you with bells and whistles facade but the behind the scenes is not so sparkly. For cleanliness I only give it a 2. The pool closes at 9pm which was a huge disappointment for our little travelers looking to swim after a long day of travel. We were able to use it the next day and it was fine.

The hotel is beautifully decorated for Christmas. We use it every year for our family and friends weekend in Chicago. The rooms with 2 bathrooms are great and the concierge provides a nice breakfast. They have Christmas trees lit up and beautiful holiday decorations including a gingerbread version of the hotel in the elevator lobby. Our girls decorated complimentary gingerbread cookies in the lobby this year while sipping on free hot chocolate. (when do you ever get anything for free anymore?) It is a great location for anything at Soldier Field, Adler Planetarium, Shedd Aquarium, the Field Museum, or Millennium Park. Kitty O'Shea's pours a nice drink and has good pub food lunch choices, but our favorite spot in the hotel is the cocktail lounge where, if you are lucky, you can watch the snow come down and the hustle and bustle of the city go by while sitting in a comfy lounge chair and drink in hand staying warm by the oversized fireplace.

I've stayed at this hotel on several business trips. It is a nice hotel with friendly staff. However, no matter what room or floor I'm on, the wifi barely works or does not work at all. Very frustrating when trying to get work done and very disappointing for such a nice hotel.

I have always liked visiting Chicago. The Hilton just makes my visit even more humble. This hotel has be refurbished time and time again, and always meets my expectations. The only complaint I have is that I am often with other people and do not pay attention to the elevators. I often get on the wrong elevator and have to "cross-over" to get to my floor. Other than that, this is one of the best hotels in Chicago!

Across the street from millennium park. Close to public transportation, easy to get Uber, and or taxi's. Many attractions are within walking distance from this very large hotel. Rooms with views. Quiet. Starbucks. On site restaurant.

The Chicago Hilton is a classic hotel built in the 1920's. Hotel is centrally located and by lake. It has kept most of the charm from that era entact over the last 90 years. The room was comfortable well equipped. Room service was prompt and friendly, and the in-house food was tasty and delivered hot. Front desk was also friendly and helpful. Daily housekeeping was good, however, simple dusting of shutter doors on closet needed. Also need to change or clean shower curtain for musty smell. Easy fixes for next guests. Overall a good stay.

Great staff but rooms spartan by my standards. I spend about 75 nights out a year on business. Most tile Hilton Garden Inn or Hampton Inn. Rooms dated because building dated.

This was our first time at the Chicago Hilton. This is an outstanding hotel. Most of the staff appears to have been here for several years. More important, all of the co-workers seem to really enjoy working for Hilton - and they are not hesitant to tell you that. Service is excellent on every level. Staff is helpful. Requests for extras are promptly filled. The room was spotless. The executive lounge can get a little crowded. The food provided was very good. The hotel restaurants are excellent and well worth visiting. I was attending a meeting with over 3000 others, and the service for the entire meeting was excellent. The food provided was good value, tasty, and prompt. Facilities were excellent. I would highly recommend this for any professional meeting. It is worth mentioning again that the staff is just outstanding. Over five days, every co-worker had a smile, was helpful, professional, and met every request. The rooms are comfortable. If a room with a lake view is selected (recommended), consider using the blackout shades at night if lights are an issue. There is a great deal of ambient light at night from the park in front of the hotel. The exercise facilty is well maintained and equipped. No machines were out of service. The lap pool was clean, the water clear. The sauna was very comfortable. The only thing that needs improvement is their IT subcontractor. On two occasions, I tried to contact HCN's "helpless" desk. I was put on endless hold, and gave up after five and seven minutes respectively. The issue was the fact that the computers set up to print boarding passes do not have links to Southwest Airlines (Hello - Midway is one of Southwest's major airports). In any event, the Hilton staff made up for HCN's shortcomings. The concierge printed all needed boarding passes quickly and efficiently. There were many guests that needed this service. HCN aside, this hotel is an excellent value and a wonderful place to stay. While the physical facilties are excellent and well maintained, it is the staff that makes this hotel unique. This staff is in the top five of any hotel that I have stayed in - ever. They will not disappoint anyone that chooses to stay here.

The food was good. But, the service was even better. Our waiter was very informative with the questions we ask him. He made us feel like family. We always eat there when we get in late or have to travel home on that day.

Staying at the Chicago Hilton presently for the Thanksgiving Day parade. Rooms are small and when we checked into our room it was boiling hot at 75 degrees. Tried to find vending machines for a drink and found the only option was to buy drinks from their cafeteria. Three 20oz sodas and a small carton of milk was $28!!!!! Tried to remove my makeup before bed and found neither of the bathrooms were supplied with washcloths or complimentary makeup remover wipes. Got up this morning to shower only to find pubic hair in the bathtub. Obviously it hadn’t been cleaned or cleaned thoroughly. Completely disgusting and unacceptable to find in a Hilton hotel. Very noisy hallways and walls are thin so you can hear EVERYTHING your neighbors are doing and saying. On a positive note, beds are comfy and nice assortment of pillows.

I recently stayed at the Hilton Chicago. Carsarra at check-in, greeted me warmly and was quick and efficient with check-in. She provided excellent customer service to ensure my stay will be great.

Was staying for a conference at this hotel. The entry, lobby, and most ballrooms have an old school elegance to them. It is a high volume hotel as they was 4-6 people checking guests in. They seem to show each guest a map of the hotel to see which rooms were where. It seemed that due to the many twists and turns in the hotel many rooms were just looking across 20-30 feet at another room. I reserved a king room but was offered a room with 2 queens with a partial lake view. I went to the room and it definitely was a partial view. Not that great. I went back down and asked for the king without the view which they accommodated without questions. Due to the layout of the hotel and lack of view the room was relatively dark with limited exposure to sun. And due to the proximity of the room across from the windows you didn’t want to have the shades up. The location is good if you’re going to the museums as it is about a mile South of Madison. For things a bit North it’s not a bad walk but there are other properties further North especially if walking is an issue. I didn’t due any dining at the hotel except for grabbing something quick from the Herb N Kitchen where prices are steep. $7+ for a yogurt parfait. The fitness center was a huge plus. I think it is one that people can actually join and guest have free access. It had tons of cardio and weight equipment. This was my favorite part of the stay. The worst part was as follows. I was meeting some friends for brunch on Sunday and needed to check out and have my bags held for a couple hours. We went to the bell stand and said we had a few bags to check. He asked if we were checking in or checking out. I said checking out. He directed us to the other end of the lobby and said your bag check is over there past the FedEx. I thought it was odd to have 2 separate bell desk for checking in vs out to hold bags. We walked over and saw the sign which also had the prices to have bags held. I couldn’t believe this. A charge?! However, being Hilton Diamond I figured this would be free. He said it would somewhere in the $8-12 range, I don’t remember exactly. I asked, “even for Hilton Diamond members?” He a said, “Yes”. I asked if I could charge it to my room. He said, “No, cash only”. “We are not affiliated with the hotel in any way”. With all the Hilton hotels I have stayed at around the country and around the world this was a first. Having to pay to have your bags held when checking out. I was going to give this stay 4 out of 5 but this was enough for me to go to 3 of 5. Disappointing.

This is an iconic hotel. The history is amazing but they can't live on history alone. After all, people come to sleep. History is in a museum. I was disappointed from the time I checked in. It takes 10-15 minutes to check in even when you are pre-registered and a HH guest. Something about their computers. I asked for a room with a view and it was an extra $30 a night. (no thanks). The room smelled like cigar and after 24 hours that dissipated but you would think they have cleaning agents to rid the rooms of odors. My room on the 6th floor was in desperate need of upgrade. Two beds and two bathrooms - you could have split it down the middle and had two rooms. Very much in need of a facelift. The only redeeming quality is the bus to the trade show parked there and make it easy to come and go. Otherwise this is a bust. There are plenty of iconic hotels in Chicago that are nicer. Maybe the Chinese will spend some money on it now that they have a 25% stake in Hilton.

The staff were very friendly and good. We started the week with the buffet style cooked breakfast, but it was too heavy for the convention, sitting all day. I recommend the bagel and fruits for a light and nutritional meal. The price for the buffet was high, although the bagel and fruits very reasonable.

Breakfast was buffet style and expensive--$29--for a typical breakfast buffet with all the usual suspects. There is a cheaper option-a continental breakfast, but what's the point of a piece of pastry. If you're going to have breakfast, then go for it. Our server, Benito, was especially accommodating--fast, friendly service with a smile. I'd ask to be seated in his secction.

A beautiful historic building, very well maintained, with nice and clean rooms, all the staff are very friendly and professional. Great location on Michigan Ave. The hotel is a masterpiece of Chicago architecture and is very well preserved. The people who receive us at the entrance of the hotel are very professional and go beyond their job to help you. My only complaint is that I was in Chicago invited by the University for a paid night on 4/6, I paid for 4/5 because I preferred to arrive the day before in Chicago. On 6/4 they made me check out of my room before 11am, store my luggage and return after 4pm to check-in in another room superior to the one I had. I explained that I didn't mind being downgraded so as not to change rooms, but they wouldn't let me. It's not a joke to be changing rooms every day. Especially if one is there to complete the program at the University where my daughter is going to start studying next year.

Executive level did not offer as much as expected, coffee, soft drinks, there is a $10 wine per glass happy hour that I usually would expect better prices or complimentary.

We hosted our wedding at the Hilton Chicago November 28, 2025, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the very beginning of working with Elena and Rob, everything was handled with such care, professionalism, and genuine warmth. Elena and Rob are absolute gems. Their attention to detail, constant support, and calm presence made the entire planning process seamless and stress-free. They went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of our day was perfect, not just for us, but for our family as well. My mom, Kevin and I are endlessly grateful for them. The space was stunning, the atmosphere elegant, and the execution flawless. Hosting our wedding on Thanksgiving weekend made it even more meaningful, and the Hilton made it feel magical and intimate all at once. We truly wish we could relive the day over and over again. If you are considering the Hilton Chicago for a wedding or special event, do not hesitate. We are forever thankful to Elena, Rob, and the entire Hilton team for giving us memories we will cherish for a lifetime.

Since I was staying at the hotel during a conference, the food was above average for a conference hotel.

Darnella Harper keeps this place immaculate! From weights to treadmills, toy could not ask for a cleaner place ro work out.

We try and stay here every time we visit Chicago. Very convenient to my sons school (Columbia), and to many restaurants within walking distance. Great museums close by and also Soldier Field. Just a great location. We love to walk on the lake and it is two blocks away. Breakfast is all we have eaten here and it was fine. Wait staff could be more attentive, but overall ok. The bar area is fantastic, great appetizers, great ambiance!! We will return, depending on price, we stay here or the Palmer House.

So nice to be in Chicago for the Holidays. This hotel is a great location for the Chicago Thanksgiving Parade. It starts and all of the bands / acts set up right near the hotel and State Street. Great location to one of the iconic hotels of Chicago.

This hotel was very nice!! It was centrally located. Staff was very friendly!! It is convenient to Millenial Park. We walked so wear your sneakers! About 6 or 7 blocks. Nice Irish pub.. nice room..

Perfect location for our Columbia College visit. The lobby was clean and staff were nice. Our room was very small but adequate. However, when we entered late in the evening the room we discovered the window open and discovered the heater was not shutting off no matter what the temperature! Although management said they would address the issue they never did! We were out all day and expected it to be fixed. Very disappointing and frustrating. No one was willing to help out. This is the first time a Hilton property has not made right on our visit ...

This is the best hotel hands down in chicago great staff friendly guest surprisingly big and spacious rooms pool Jacuzzi open bar salon Fed d and gift shop with the best food five stars come check us out 720bs. Michigan ave

We had a 4 night stay last week. I really liked being able to select our room the day before we checked in. The mobile app was great. Our room was obviously two smaller single rooms that had been combined into one larger room. Having two bathrooms was convenient! The beds were like sleeping at home. Every staff member offered us a warm greeting and the concierge gave us two great restaurant recommendations. We enjoy walking and made the mile walk to the Miracle Mile twice. We also walked to the Art Institute of Chicago and spent an afternoon there.

Landed at Ohare and stayed at the Chicago Hilton. Treated like Royalty by the staff . Older Hotel with a tremendous amount of character and class. Great location couldn’t ask for more.

I've mentioned in prior reviews that I travel for business purposes extensively, and as a result, I tend to stay in a select group of hotels that I know will meet my requirements. As a business traveler I'm often starting my workday at 05:00 and by the time I make it to my hotel I want an need only a few essential items; 1 - A quiet room on the highest floor of the hotel so no one is above me making noise as they stampede through their hotel room 2 - A full service restaurant because if I'm not hosting a dinner I'm not leaving the hotel usually, unless the restaurant on-site isn't very good. 3 - A central location for my business purposes. Anything else is a bonus, but not an essential requirement for my purposes. So, as is often the case, I stayed in the Chicago Hilton, room 2563, from January 4-6th. Upon arrival the first thing that struck me was how clean and well maintained this property is. Although I hadn't stayed here in the last several years it seemed that that there had been a freshening up since my last visit. The second thing I noticed was that there weren't many other guests in sight which I attributed to the hour of the day. I went to the Registration desk where I waited in the Hilton Honors (I'm a Diamond Level member) for about fifteen minutes for the only other person present to be checked-in. Apparently there was a problem that needed to be sorted out. When it was my turn to check in I was offered an apology and subsequently an upgrade for the inconvenience. The upgrade was then retracted as there were no room types available for upgrade at that time. I expressed my disappointment and once again was offered an upgrade. At this point I'm not sure what was going on, I just assumed the hotel was heavily booked and the offer had to be rescinded as a result. Then once again I was offered an upgrade for reasons that are still unclear to me. I went to my room, a corner room on the 25th floor, it was small but very clean with furnishings in good condition. After unpacking, checking my email, responding etc., I was ready for dinner. I went to the Lobby at 6:30 pm which is adjacent to 720 South, their onsite restaurant only to find it closed. I thought this strange so I asked the concierge if this was in fact the restaurant. She explained politely that it was but that it was closed this evening (Monday). I then asked where I could find dinner in the hotel and she directed me to Kitty O'Sheas, their pub. Honestly their pub is probably a very nice pub, but that is exactly what it is, a pub, not a restaurant, so it wasn't what I was interested in, nor did it offer anything that appealed to me. I ordered a burger and a cocktail. The bull was very high which only further disappointed me as the burger wasn't even hand crafted (or at least it didn't appear to be) as much as it was the traditional pre-portioned for service staple burger. Leaving the pub I stumbled into Herb n Kitchen, their quasi bistro/quick meal/ convenience store. Here they offered a number of pre-packaged selections (cold sandwiches, salads, assorted soft drinks, water, etc) as well as an assortment of snacks and ice cream. As I was still hungry I looked for a basic Ham and Cheese sandwich and saw a sign for Panini. It looked appetizing and it was. I took my ham and cheese Panini back to the room with a bottle of water and called it a night. The next day I visited the Executive lounge for breakfast and decided instead to go to the restaurant for breakfast, returning once again to 720 South which was open at this time. While they offered a menu I elected to try the buffet and was happy that I did. The buffet was awesome, offering the traditional scrambled eggs, bacon sausage and fruit but also including grilled tomatoes (delicious) eggs benedict, congee and dim sum in addition to several other items not typically found in a Hilton buffet (other than the SFO airport Hilton on Bayshore which offers an incredible Sunday brunch). My server, Marcia, asked if I was enjoying my breakfast and if everything was to my satisfaction to which I responded that it was much better than my experience at Kitty O'Sheas the prior evening. At that point I expected her to apologize, which she did, and then walk away, which she didn't. Marcia asked specifically I was disappointed in and she spent a few minutes asking additional questions about my expectations. Again, based on my experience in other hotels, including various Hilton's, this was not what I expected. She genuinely seemed to be disappointed that I was disappointed. Wow, that's something I'm just not used to. A few minutes later Marcia returned and told me that she shared my comments with others and that my feedback was appreciated. Hmmmn, I just told an employee working for Hilton in a restaurant they owned and operated that the other restaurant, also owned and operated by Hilton, had food that wasn't very good and I was thanked for providing my feedback. Was I living in an alternate universe? Well, later that day I hosted a lunch with a business colleague and a woman came to the table to introduce herself, her name is Natilie Olund. She explained that she was the Food and Beverage Manager and that my breakfast server, Marcia, had shared my comments about my prior evenings experience. Like Marcia she too apologized. She also offered to recommend some off-site dining options and to pay for my travel to and from a restaurant of my choice. I thanked her for stopping by, explained my disappoint was based on the menu and not the service and that I really wanted something other than pub food. Again she apologized and offered an amenity which I declined simply because it wasn't anything I would consume and I didn't want to be wasteful. I went back to my business lunch and sometime later Natalie returned offering the option to order from the 720 South menu for my dinner that evening. I took her up on that offer and I really glad that I did. I ordered the NY Strip, grilled sautéed mushrooms, asparagus, potato leek soup and a potato. I've eaten in a lot of expensive steak houses (del Frisco's, The Palm, Morton's, Peter Lugers, etc., etc., and never, not once have I had a better meal and this was room service, not the restaurant. It beat any five star highly rated Zagat restaurant I ever dined in anywhere in the world. I also did something I've never done before anywhere, I ate every piece of te steak which was cooked to absolute perfection. Kudo's to the entire staff, especially Natalie, Marci and the Chef Du Cusine, Robert McKenzie, whom I later learned who personally prepared my meal. Each of these individuals went above and beyond to do everything possible to make my stay enjoyable and to exceed my expectations. I rarely make this statement but I am looking forward to returning in the near future and repeating everything but my time at Kitty O 'Shea's which isn't a bad pub, it's just not what I'm looking for in a dining experience (BTW my server at Kitty's was excellent and I believe her name is Temequia). Kudo's to the staff and management for excellent customer service and in the process setting the standard by which I will from this point forward use to evaluate others. Here's mu subjective evaluation for the hotel and restaurants on a 1-5 scale (5 being the highest) Hotel Cleanliness - 5 Service - 4 Comfort - 5 Accommodations - 4 Bathroom - 5 - incredibly clean HVAC - 4 (it was hard to regulate but this building has 3,000 rooms and my room was facing the lake on a blustery evening. Condition of Room Furnishing - 5 Value - 5 Kitty O'Sheas Pub Menu Choices - 3 Service - 5 Seating - 2 (mostly bar stools, limited tables) Ambience - 3 (typical dark word, low light, pub setting and while nicely done just not comfortable for me) Value - 2 ( a burger and a cocktail were grossly overpriced for what was served. BTW I removed the burger from the bun and it wasn't an impressive burger at that) Herb N Kitchen Selection - 4 (prepackaged sandwiches, snacks, soft drinks, ice cream, coffee, grilled Panini , etc.) Value - 3 Service - 5 Cleanliness - 5 720 South Restaurant and Room Service Service - 5 Quality of Food - 5 Variety - 5 Food Preparation - 5 Value - 5 Recommended - Yes, highly and frequently. I look forward to returning and repeating my experience. Safe Travels PKK

I was here on business. The location is very good - Michigan Avenue. The rooms were very nice and I really liked Kittys. I chose this hotel because of the pictures of the Fitness Center and the facility was very nice. I used it in the afternoons and the same loud person showed up, talking loudly on his phone, walking all over, like he was trying to make sure he could annoy all of the people trying to get peaceful workouts in. Even though there are signs that guests are not allowed to use phones in the center. Very rude. I will not be staying at this Hilton again.

Lots of choices for breakfast, including gluten free options. Staff very attentive and nice quiet setting. Santa came to breakfast when we were there.

Clean hotel. Staff was accommodating. Was well organized. Pool and patio fun. The event was well organized. Staff was friendly.

I been attending events at this venue for more rhan twenty years and the service and professionalism has been exceptional throught. This location is a Chicago tradition with a great future.

Was in Chicago for a conference being held at the Hilton, and was very happy with my stay. The room was spacious, the bed and pillows were comfortable, the elevators were fast and the staff were helpful. I think the best thing was the location - so close to Lake Michigan. I was disappointed that the hotel charges guests to use the gym, but walking along the lake path was free and beautiful.

This place is massive, elegant and opulent, and the location is pretty impressive as well. Service was never less than perfect. Would stay again and recommend.

We stayed here because of a prior stay that was pleasant. Upon arrival the hotel tried to place us in a double room, although we had booked a double double (2 beds 2 baths). We had to show them the paperwork as they didn't believe us. Still they sent us to a double and then doubted us when we came back and told them. Then they said it was the room we originally booked (not true which I again showed them). Total bad attitude from the desk staff. Once settled into a room, we found it to be dusty. Overnight our fridge froze all the food inside. The next day they said they fixed the fridge but again it froze all of the food. They did provide us with food coupons so that was a good response. One of the bathrooms took 3 flushes each time you used the toilet.

The classic hotel is well maintained and gives you a feeling of nostalgia without an old and dingy feel. Classic grandeur of the 1920's is represented. Great party

Definitely not what it used to be very disappointed the quality of customer service is terrible especially the concierge very rude over talk would not stay at this Hilton again the food on the executive floor is disappointing the quality in presentation is subpar and definitely not worth it to stay on the executive floor. Does not seem to be a Hilton brand at all the best part is possibly the housekeeping and the front desk at least they're customer services above-average.

Beware of the pool and Jacuzzi!!!! I stayed here with my family over the weekend. Come Monday I have a UTI and a yeast infection. I told the hotel, so they can fix the problem. The hotel told me that they checked the pools and they deem that there was no problem.

This hotel was beautiful and the PERFECT location for running the marathon. I totally recommend! We loved the location. The people at the hotel were wonderful and kind. The only reason I didn't give a full 5 stars is that we ordered room service and it just wasn't that great! I would recommend hitting the city for some food instead!!

I generally prefer modern to older hotels but this hotel is an exception. It has just about anything you would want in a hotel. It has several restaurants, an attached parking garage, shops, a shoe shine, comfortable beds, excellent service. The only negative is that it is located about a mile South of the center of town which could be a disadvantage to some depending on the purpose of ones trip. It is convenient to museums and parks.

This hotel is huge and has lots of options for food and drinks. It is well maintained and very clean. I was here for a conference and the facilities and food were great. For conference food I was impressed. It's centrally located and easily accessible to a lot of attractions. I don't think I would choose this hotel for a romantic or family weekend. There are probably more intimate options. I will also say checkin was understaffed and slow.

I used to stay here all the time, but moved across the street. The Hilton is a latter-day landmark hotel in Chicago, at a great location. My issue always was its size. I like smaller hotels. But with this kind of firmly planted and extensive hotel you get shops, food and vistas the boutiques and smaller places don't offer.

We (my wife & I) arrived late, around 11:15pm on April 30th (we had reservation for 2 days and prepaid for the reservations) and when we came through the door the front desk clerk stated, "we have no rooms, we overbooked and you have to find another hotel to stay at". They did not even direct us to another Hilton in the area (which the next day front clerks said they should have done), the night clerk just told us to talk to Harvey Arias in the morning. We had to look for another hotel that was available then walk through downtown Chicago around midnight to get to the hotel. I went back the next day, and met with Harvey Arias and he apologized and stated he would comp both nights. After several days, into weeks, there was no compensation and it took me several phone calls to reach Harvey and in the meantime Hilton charged me for the second night which I had already paid for. After several weeks and phone calls I finally received compensation for the two nights but could not get the second night charge from Hilton refunded. Hilton is very difficult to communicate with and the property manager at the Chicago Hilton downtown, Harvey Arias, is NOT ethical in his promises and neither is Hilton, for that matter. This was a very simple fix, they compensate us because of the inconvenience THEY placed on us in order to keep a customer, but Harvey & the Hilton staff apparently are not concerned with that. Avoid this hotel in case you have an issue similar to ours and use any of the other multiple hotels in the Chicago area.

excellent choices of bread, fresh fruit, juices, coffee included, hot buffet, eggs, meat, cheeses, cold cut, cereal and all. The muffins were wonderful and love the papaya. Children under 5 eat free, and the place is very family friendly. The staff is helpful, friendly and most wonderful with children.

This huge hotel is a “guest factory” with a lot of convention and group business, but it’s pretty efficient. We last stayed here four years ago and the reception and concierge service was greatly improved in our most recent visit. Staff was friendly and helpful compared to indifferent on our visit years ago, so a tip of the hat to training and management. This hotel was the largest in the world when it was built in 1927. Rooms must have been small then, because they appear to have knocked down a partition and created one large room (with two bathrooms!) from one. The extra bathroom is nice. Outdoor parking behind the hotel on Wabash Avenue is cheaper than the hotel parking ($30 vs. $61), and we found the hotel breakfast area to be expensive compared to cheaper nearby alternatives. Although the hotel is convenient to Grant Park, the Art Institute, and The Bean, the neighborhood on upper Michigan Avenue is more interesting in my opinion, but the hotel prices are higher than at this Hilton.

I stayed at this hotel while in business trip. I was overall satisfied with the room and service! I would recommend it for the business trips

Nice hotel. Had chance of staying there for the Lions Clubs Conference. Rooms are clean and good. House keeping was also good. Though in the restaurant for breakfast there was a little choice for Indians. There were about 200 Indians staying in the hotel during the conference.I think in future the Hotel management should take care in the matter regarding the choice of food. At the banquets Indian food was served which was good.

Checked in to attend the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic. I used this hotel every year from 1985 till 1996 for this conference so it was something of a nostalgia trip. My room was very cold when I arrived and eventually had to call to get the heating fixed. This resulted in heating being stuck "on" and an overheated room. Took 2 more calls to get someone back who dismantled the A/C in the room and ended up freezing again. Finally complained to the Rooms Division manager who apologised profusely and up graded me for the rest of the stay to a junior suite with working heating. It's an iconic hotel, with very comfortable rooms if everything works properly!

After a sleepless night from a noisy adjacent room the understanding receptionist gave us a more comfortable, quiet one and a voucher for complimentary breakfast. The Hilton is very near to the Chicago Field and Art museums Very good breakfast and can get a bite in the evening at Kitty O'Shea Irish pub though the menu is limited. Starbucks available with light snacks from the Cafe.

We recently stayed at the Chicago Hilton in one of their time share rooms. The Hotel had some good amenities such as a pool and gym facility and a complimentary continental breakfast for those staying on the Executive Level. When we stayed there only two restaurants were open for dining. Kitty O'Sheas an Irish Pub/Restaurant and a lounge bar at the other end of the building. This was even though for part of our stay there was an American Bar Association convention being held in the hotel. This left it extremely difficult to get anything to eat except in the fast food facility. The main restaurant was closed for the entire time we were there. The hotel is not close to the downtown area so taking a cab at about $15 to $20 per ride was necessary unless you wanted to take the bus. Also, security seems to be an issue as at night they check for room keys outside the elevators this was a little disconcerting. When we left at 4a.m. this seem to be confirmed as there was a shouting match going on between a man and a woman on the sidewalk right outside the entrance to the hotel. There seem to be plenty of other hotels located downtown that would be a better bet for sightseeing and access to many fine restaurants. I would not recommend this hotel.

Our family was visiting Chicago for the first time for a brief two day trip. Our first hotel (where I had made initial reservation months ago) turned out to be in terrible condition, and we got in town too late at night to change at that time. I walked to the Chicago Hilton at 7:30am and got a room. The wonderful staff person who helped me, Linda, was kind enough to let our family into a room right away and saved the rest of our vacation! Thank you Linda! The hotel was beautiful and all of the staff were friendly and helpful! Hilton Hotels all the way for our family from now on!

We stayed here for 2 nights for my work’s annual conference. The ballrooms accommodated our large group for our dinners and activities. Our hotel room was spacious but the view left a little to be desired. If you get one of the rooms that faces toward the middle of the towers, you could possibly see into others’ rooms. We know there are rooms in this hotel that offer wonderful city or lake views.

The cleaning and servicing of the room was of a poor standard. We had already decided that we would never stay in this hotel again. Then on our last day whilst looking for a misplaced room key, we found a disgusting amount of rubbish (Long term going off the dust) behind a chest of drawers and also a previous guests sock next to the bed!! Check the photos out. The drawers haven't been moved, this is the gap at the back. I informed the duty manager on checking out and was informed that "housekeeping would reach out to me" about this. So far nobody has contacted us about this. Basically a $10 hostels level of cleaning.

I usually like hiltonas a chain, and I realize that large old properties have unique challenges, but for the third time in four years this has been the company hotel for a trade show and it just continues to disappoint. The plumbing is worn so badly my sink filled every night and no one came to fix. Big chips out of the porcelain in the bath. Only bright spot is the quick food place in the lobby.

We were a bit shocked when we got to our room after a long day of travel. We turned to each other. What is that. Not no. You do get used to it but at first it was shocking. The rooms were great the two bathrooms for two women travelling could not have been better. Rooms were very comfortable clean no noise from other rooms or the hall. Bed and pillows outstanding. Bath products very nice. In town for a conference. Location great close to the subway. We enjoyed our stay.

Nice staff. But...waited 4 hours for a room...got mine at 4pm. No benefits for Diamond members, no exec lounge, etc. Nice health club but closes 9pm. So could not use as i had dinner mtg. Got room with two bathrooms but one bed a foot from door. Noisy. Offer to make up was 10 dollar couponn to restaurant. But I had dinner plans and the leaving in AM . Useless. Alot of hotel choices in Chicago. And I am a multi year Diamond member.

We arrived at 3 pm. I had checked into our room the day before online and already had a room number. The computer system went down just as we arrived and then mass chaos ensued. We waited almost 10 hours to be placed in a room. I had two small children with me, who ended up on the couches in the bar in their pajamas. The worst part was not this inconvenience; the worst was the way it was handled. There was no management representation and the poor girls at the desk were left to all of the angry customers, which most of them did not handle well. I realize they were stressed and taking the brunt of it, but I have not experienced that kind of rude, insensitive, and apathetic behavior before in a hotel of this supposed quality. We were placed in three rooms, all of which were occupied, before finally getting a room. It was NOT the room type we'd reserved. Lots of folks were placed in rooms before us, despite having just got there. Others were offered all sorts of compensation in the form of vouchers, etc.; we saw none of this. The swimming pool was divided into three lanes, two of which were for lap swimmers, leaving the poor kids trying to entertain themselves with a tiny sliver of pool. The food was awesome, when you could get it. The one restaurant was advertised to be open for breakfast and lunch, but was not open for lunch any of the days the entire week we were there. The bar was only open at dinner. The only restaurant in the hotel that was open for lunch was Kitty's, which is Irish food and had nothing to offer my small children. I will tell you that the only thing that kept me from leaving and never going to another Hilton again was Steve in the bar area. He was the only person who seemed to have any empathy to our situation at all and helped us secure couches for the kids to lie down. He was thoughtful and listened to us and tried his best to make up for all of the ways the management team fell down during this issue. This place might be great for business trips, but I could never recommend it to a family. I have never had such a horrible experience in any hotel, much less a Hilton.

Stayed here for a long weekend. The motel is in an excellent location. The motel was clean the staff was friendly and it was decorated very nice for Christmas. The price I got for the weekend was excellent. I would recommend it as a motel to stay at if your in the loop.

Stayed at the Chicago Hilton when we saw Phantom of the Opera. Excellent care, mindful and watchfully on check in and checking out. Staff noted extra charge on account and immediately reversed it. Room was great and lived the hotel! Concierge was helpful and all the staff was excellent!

Excellent hotel Athletic Club. Great indoor swimming pool. Perfect for my morning lap swims. Staff was very attentive.

Less than helpful staff, as a diamond level Honors customer I was told by the desk clerk I could not use an award certificate for one nights stay because I booked with a group. This is quite an expensive 3 nights stay. Hhonors phone staff told me otherwise. Note to management: I will now become a top level Marriott customer, done with Hilton.

Very dissapointed. I stayed here many times in the past but the hotel has lost its class. KITTY O'SHAYS men's room in the hotel had not a drop of soap to wash your hands. The manager was very non chalant about it and sent me across the hall to the men's room. Two of the 3 dispensaries had zero soap and one barely had any. The health department should be notified. And to top it off they turned their beautiful classy rooms into hum drum modern rooms with cheap furnishings and drab bathrooms. I will never stay here again and the management should be fired.

I just stayed here 5 nights for a week long business meeting. The food served to the group was terrible. Now, I know feeding 350 people isn't easy, but the Hilton should have higher standards. In addition, my shower never had hot water. Like warm at best. I'm sure most people would agree that all they really want is a quiet room, a comfortable bed, and a hot shower. I called the front desk 4 times, but the problem was never fixed. Engineering was summoned multiple times, but they failed to rectify the problem. As a Hilton Honors member, I was extremely disappointed in this hotel. On the plus side, the elevators were fast and reliable. In addition, the food at 720 South Grill was tasty.

Wonderful hotel. All the staff was friendly and helpful. Was in the perfect location to walk to many museums and to see the "bean". We had a bit of a problem with our room keys. Had them fixed once and still only one worked. We traveled with our two sons and should have went for a queen not a full size bed. The rooms were small, but nice and the in room safe had plenty of room for our stuff. The room also had a small mini refrigerator which came in handy. We got the room that included parking, which I highly suggest because parking all week in Chicago can cost you a small fortune. We stayed on the 21st floor and the furthest room before you get to the end room that still overlooked navy pier. It was prefect because we can sit in the room and still see the fireworks perfectly. Will definitely be back.

Worst Stay Ever at a Hilton. I booked a King Bed and got a room with 2 doubles. The room was dirty and had cob webs on the bases of the beds. You could feel the dirt on the floor when you walked. The worst part of the stay was the BED BUGS. I have hundreds of bites and when I told the management team, I was told it was one of the best rooms. I will never stay at a Hilton again and I have been a Hilton Honors member for 20 years. They lost a long-term client.

Been to Chicago many times but this was the first time I stayed at this historic hotel. The entrance, lobby, ballroom, everything was grandiose! Beautiful hotel, service was impeccable, from check-in to check-out, seemless. This hotel was background to many movies like Best Friend's Wedding, Home Alone, Road to Perdition among many others, the rooftop was frequently used for helicopter scenes in ER ! Room was very clean and tidy, nice size. Had a chance to get a drink at Kitty O'shea's, cool Irish pub where you can also get food (I just had drinks : ) I managed to walk into the Grand Ballroom which was enormous and beautiful, fine details were incredible, but I forgot to take a picture!! This hotel overlooks Grant Park and Lake Michigan and right on Michigan ave so pretty much close to everything. Great stay!

Took part in major conference but did not stay at hotel. Rooms and AV were handled well with now problems. Beverages and cookies were fine. Lunches were only passable and the same on both days.

My room at the Hilton had a view of the lake and Grant Park. It was clean, comfortable and quite reasonably sized. The price point include parking and was, in my opinion, reasonable for the weekend I was there. The location is quite good and mass transit is not a far walk from the hotel

Stayed here 1 Saturday night before heading out to Iowa. Nice enough, standard Hilton. Everything you need for a city visit, clean, comfortable and easy to get to & from.

Iconic hotel. Love the rooms with two bathrooms. We did have a problem. Rm 1152 on the 11th floor and we had ants in one of the bathrooms. Didn't notice until late, so we didn't report until next day when I found them on top of the covers after placing some clothes on the bed, that had fallen on the floor when we got in late the night before. I'm confident they were not in the bed when I slept in it. Reported upon check out and was asked to place complaint with security, which I gladly did. They were very concerned if I had been bitten and assured them I had not. They did offer to dry clean all of our clothes, but declined, as we were on our way home. I am not one to ask for freebies, therefore I did not, but I do believe this incident should have warranted a significant discount in the price of the room. They offered no discount for the $250.00 room with ants.

Having experienced the exceptional offerings of this hotel through its life as The Stevens (I was very young), the Conrad Hilton and now, the Chicago Hilton. Located at the south edge of Michigan Avenue it is within walking distance and/or a very short cab ride to every vibrant element that make up the marvels of the Magnificent Mile, the Windy City and the Chicago Loop. The services of the hotel are premier and reflect the perfection of the staff. This Hilton property is the "gold standard" of the chain. Rooms a comfortable and well appointed. Am east view will satisfy every expectation of Chicago's lakefront beauty. The city offers many options from which to choose but the Chicago Hilton Hotel will leave nothing to be desired!

Stayed during the Chicago Marathon weekend for 2 nights. Very centrally located. Nice clean suite. Restful for the race. Restaurant downstairs with great food.

Room, veiws, location, and staff were amazing! Close to amazing locations for dining, shopping, and landmarks! The city of Chicago is so beautiful!

Our national conference was here so the hotel was chosen for us. We had a 2 queen bed room with two full baths, which was nice. No makeup mirror but there was a tub! As for room location, choose floors 5 or 8 for the most elevator options. They ran slowly in between conference sessions. Food in the hotel is expensive so explore options outside the hotel within a block or two- there are many. WiFi was fine.

The Hilton Chicago has a lot of history. It's right across from the park and there are great views (from some windows) of the Lake. But it's quite noisy. This is an old hotel so the windows don't block a lot of noise and there is constant horn blowing, yelling, sirens from outside--typical big city noises. Like many large cities, the rooms are not huge. The bathrooms and furnishings have been updated, it looks nice, just small. The hotel has a weird lay-out which, while it allows lots of rooms to be able to see the park/lake, it also means there is zero privacy looking out/in even on the higher floors because all the adjacent rooms (wings to the left and right) look out into the same courtyard. This is the hotel that was featured in Harrison Ford's movie The Fugitive. There are beautiful old staircases and nice finishes.

We stayed overnight at the Chicago Hilton prior to the Shamrock /Shuffle. The hotel is directly across from the finish line of the race, which worked out extremely well for us. Because we are Hilton Honor's Members, we were able to arrange for a late check out, giving us time to go back and shower and still check out by noon. The hotel is beautiful and historic, but the rooms have been updated, and had all the modern touches, including a coffee maker, Wi-Fi that worked very well, and a refrigerator. We were upgraded to a room with a view of the lake, which we absolutely loved! Thank you Hilton Chicago!

This is one of those times where I can say that everything about my stay as perfect. I am a Hilton HHonors member so by logging in on the app, I was able to select the exact room I wanted prior to arrival. I chose a room with a view of the lake (overlooking Millenium and Grant Park) and it was beautiful to wake up to each day. Even though I was on the 14th floor, you could still hear the horns honking below, but that is to be expected in the big cities. The room itself was very nice and had a long desk in front of the two huge windows that took up just about the entire wall. The room was clean and the ammenities were nice. The shops and restaurants on site were great options (I'll review Kitty O'Shea's separately). All the staff were friendly and helpful throughout my entire stay. Great job to all at the Hilton!

This property was absolutely phenomenal!!! My room was was amazing, the service was outstanding and the food was simply delicious. This is certainly an upscale hotel in name and deeds.

I chose the hotel because of my Hilton points, and it was a great choice. Perfect location on Michigan Ave by Grant Park. The staff were friendly and helpful, room was huge with great views. Only downside was that the pool was crowded, but with so much to do, we didn't miss it.

Chicago Hilton downtown was one of the biggest hotels I have ever stayed at! Outside of having to follow a labyrinth to find your room, it actually was pretty easy to get around all things considered. About anything you could need is available in the lobby, folks are super nice and the room was great. As far as I know I was in a standard room and it was larger than a most standard rooms. Meeting rooms were super cool, it’s really a beautiful historic facility. We had negotiated group rates so I do not know what standard rates are. But it is a really cool option downtown!

The lady at the registration desk was kind in working with me to check in early in the morning. Rather than turn me away to come back later, I was given choices and helped to find a room right away! Thank you for treating me like I mattered!

The Lions Clubs Intl. end of convention President's Gala reception was held here. There were long lines to greet the new Pres. and Vice Presidents. There were many thousands of Lions in attendance, but the staff kept the food available with minimum waiting. The Pay as you go bar was handy, but pricey. ..

Enjoyed yet another stay at the Chicago Hilton. Even though this is a really huge hotel, it does not feel like that. Welcome at the reception was friendly. My standard double bed room was more than large enough. Internet was powerful. I got a late departure until 12:30. I will be back.

If you're into a hotel that still has character, is well maintained and a great location, then this is the place for you. The staff provides excellent service, which starts your stay off right. Then up to your room in an elevator that gives you some historical facts about the hotel in the form of a trivia game. Then the well-appointed rooms with a view of the park and the lake are the best. The staff in the restaurant always greets you with a smile; however, not recommended during high traffic times, unless you have time to wait for a waiter or waitress. Need additional services or items -- then the shops, shoeshine and jewelry counters provide you with an opportunity to take care of those needs. The hotel has several large as well as medium size meeting rooms available. Explore the lower level, since a train used to run through the hotel at one time. The hotel is also pet friendly. Some great history at this hotel. Overall, excellent service, location and just a great place to stay in Chicago.

First of all lets just say that i am very old school and that if i call the hotel for any reason that i prefer to speak with an actual person and not an AI generated call. upon arriving, i was offered an "upgrade" to my room which was supposed to be 2 queen beds instead of the two doubles i had already paid for. This did however have a second bathroom (which was greatly appreciated )...the beds were NOT queen beds. Also, for the price that you pay, you would think that there would be a microwave in the room, which there wasn't. Also, i am not an honors member, so because of that i have to PAY for wifi???? A microwave and free wifi are amenities even the most cheapest hotels provide. I just expected a lil more from a Hilton hotel. Especially from Chicago landmark.

Family of four with two teens stayed at the Hilton Chicago May 21-25 for a business conference. I was able to select my room in advance with early online check in. I picked a room with a partial lake view which was nice. Unfortunately the "double" room is two very small double beds which are not big enough for two people. It's difficult to enjoy your trip when you are uncomfortable and unable to sleep. Extra costs are 40.00/nt. One benefit is that most rooms have two bathrooms for extra privacy but the 2nd bathroom is tiny and it is difficult to get in and out of the shower past the toilet. Since I am a small person this would be extremely difficult for a larger person. Pool was nice two hot tubs and a lap pool. A large fitness area. Parking is 61.00 a night for self parking in their garage. You get in/out at that price. Food at the hotel is overpriced and not great. We had room service and tried the bar and grill which were nothing to rave about. Instead I would go out and enjoy the restaurants in the area. I was stuck at a conference most days so didn't have a choice due to time constraints. Their small cafe Herb and Kitchen is painfully slow. Several times the line was down the hall just to grab a quick snack. The cashier was rude most days and unwelcoming. I purchased a yogurt that had spoiled, took it back and she was unapologetic. You can't beat the location although too far to walk to the Magnificent Mile or Navy Pier. There are lots of restaurants and attractions like Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum and Art Institute within close proximity. As a Hilton Honors member I expected more. I would skip the Hilton and stay somewhere that offers more value for the price.

We spent 6 night at the Hilton Chicago. Room was on the 21st floor with lake view. What was excellent, two bathrooms. Room was clean, but never liked carpeting, it makes room so dusty...beds were confy and lots of closet space. The breakfast was just great. 15$ kids 24$ adults. Plenty of choices. Omeletttes was tasteful. Cafe in the lobby, quite expensive choice for breakfast: if you take sandwich (8,50$) and caffe latte Grande (Starbucks) (4$) and yogurt (7,50$) and juice (4$) it will cost over than the full english breakfast! Spa was awesome. Pool was big and what was the best; WARM water. Actually whole pool area was warm. Whirlpool was actually, HOT! I was very pleased, always had been cold at the pool area. Five stars for the pool side temperature! The gym was great too. A lots of equipment. Kitty o sheas Irish restaurant. Breakfast was ala carte. Not the worth of visiting. Dinner was pub food, fish and chips, mac and cheese etc. Service ok. Taxi to the airport (O'Hares) was abt 75$.

Unbelievably poor service. Examples: I self parked, I drive a Tesla and have had valets take liberties with my car, which has an app so I know exactly when my car is moved. I was told there were valets at self park to help no one was there so I schlepped my stuff. Next I ordered a Caesar salad and was told there was a two hour wait, which I reluctantly accepted. I used there online service so 75 minutes later, I confirmed that room service received my order and double checked what time it would arrive. I was told 11pm, consistent with my expectations at that point as I ordered just before 9pm 11:10pm still no salad so I contacted front desk and was told it would be free, which was nice, but I was still hungry and hoping. I can't sleep when I'm starving. So I asked to speak to the Duty Manager Aqsa Hahn was very kind and promised I would receive my salad within 15 minutes. My room had nothing in the minibar, no snacks, drinks etc. Or I would have eaten something from there and gone to sleep. 11:40pm still no salad so I called Aqsa again and she had Room Service manager, Molly Hanrahan call me back. Molly was disingenuous, and said I ordered at 9:30pm, I said nice try Molly, I ordered online so there is a time stamp for my order placed before 9pm. 11:50pm 3 hours later my salad arrived. Finally, I sent an email to John Wells the General Manger and explained what happened. I've received no response. This to me shows a systemic lack of concern for their guests. Another item of note my room service tray sat outside my door when I checked out 2 days later.

While this hotel is beautiful inside and out it appears they skipped the room I was staying in when remodeling. The wallpaper was coming off the wall, no waste basket in the bathroom and I've never stayed in such a small cramped room. The sad part being, the room was booked by my sister who is almost a diamond member with Hilton rewards . One would think that being a regular guest of Hilton hotels would get you better rooms

Here for a week. Housekeeping non-existent 😱 bin left full of smelly waste. Wet towels on the bathroom floor ready to take yesterday…$25 per day being a Hilton club member m ant we didn’t have our bed made

We didn't get a chance to eat until 9 pm, but the food was really good. The service was excellent, Nice atmosphere. A bit expensive, but after a long day of walking to see the sights, a great comfortable place to rest a weary body, have a drink and enjoy a great meal.

The inside is absolutely beautiful! reminded me of a cruise ship with all of the marble and grand stair cases. I split a two bed room with four people with Hiltons Honors and it was $108 for two nights for each person which isn't too bad in my opinion for the quality.

We stayed in the Chicago Hilton during the Memorial Day weekend. We stayed in a room with two bathrooms which was wonderful. We have stayed several times before but many years ago. Location was within walking distance to several attractions. We walked to the Aquarium, the Field Museum, and the Art Institute. The service in Kitty O'Sheas Pub was excellent as well as at the concierge desk.

This was a good meal -- one of the better ones that I had as room service, when I had to work in my room.

So it is a little overwhelming of a place. The taxi dropped me off at a side entrance, and I had to walk what seemed like a block of a maze to find the check-in area. There were bit conventions going on, and it seemed like lots and lots of people ... Reminds me in a way of the Marriott Marquis in New York -- nice but just a little overwhelming. It is also very old, while nice enough and seemed like it has been renovated many times over the years. The room was nice and because I am an HHonors member, they gave me a couple bottles of water free.... I stayed here because I had to be at a meeting very early here, not sure I would have chosen this hotel otherwise.... Service was good and room was nice, just I usually prefer a slightly less overwhelming place...

This is such an amazing hotel with a colorful and interesting history. At 85 years old it served as a troop barracks in WWII and has hosted more than its share of dignitaries. It's huge at over 1400 rooms. The standard rooms are fine - well appointed, good sized, and comfortable. The common areas are way above average with ornately decorated ball rooms, plenty of shopping and beautiful facilities. The location is central and across from Lake Michigan. The service is just ok - check in takes time. The bell hops were good once they figured out the location of my bag. I suggest using the mobile app and mobile key option you get as a Hilton honors member.

Stayed here 4th of July weekend for a concert at Soldier Field. Purchased a king room but after waiting in the check-in line for 30 minutes we were told they only had a room with 2 queen beds. Weird, but fine for now. We knew they were really busy and we needed to get cleaned up and go to the show anyways. We ended up getting a room with 2 double beds and a crappy view. Afterwards I stopped in the lobby to see if they could fix the room issue. We paid over $200 for one night, we might as well get what we paid for. We were told they only had one king room left, and it was a $25 charge. Okay, fine. So we gather our stuff and head over to the new room. When we tried to open it the INSIDE LOCK was locked, meaning it was OCCUPIED! We felt so terrible for those people. Security had to come and everything. So back to the lobby we went and they acted like it was no big deal, not their fault. Magically they had 1 more king room available on the 20th floor. This room was fine with the exception of the brown widows all over the outside of the windows. :( Oh, and it was a queen bed, not a king. They did say they would waive the room upgrade charge and our parking fee at least. In addition to all that, the toilets had trouble flushing and the bed was not comfortable. We had one very thin comforter and 4 small pillows. Very frustrating. We will not be returning.

We chose the Hilton because it was close to the Taste of Chicago, museums, etc. Also, we've been to Hilton's in other cities & always enjoyed our visits. The Chicago Hilton on Michigan Avenue is beautiful... The first issue is the hotel does not offer free wifi unless you're a Hilton Honors Member. Ridiculous! Second, the last night of our stay, our room was not cleaned. When housekeeping was called, they did not appear to care. It was 900pm & I asked for clean towels. I spoke with a supervisor of the front desk, whose response was, did I want to know why the room wasn't cleaned???? Who cares at 9pm??? Disappointed in the Hilton....

Listen, if you want a great hotel? You aren't looking at the Hilton. I was there for a conference. I can say that the staff were all lovely, attentive and considering the place was completely booked? Great. The rooms were of good size, and very clean. The bed was comfortable but not fabulous. It was a cookie-cutter, basic hotel. For 130 bucks a night? I felt like it was an excellent deal considering we overlooked Grant park and were steps away from the Art Institute. Great for families and the pool and gym were excellent.

We were in town for a wedding and were very glad that the family picked this as the base hotel. Very well maintained and rooms were spacious and clean. Fitness center is an additional charge but worth it . The morning staff is very inviting and the facility is much above the standard hotel gym.

A nice selection - sides, dinner, breakfast, dessert, wine, and many more menus to choose from. Definitely not cheap - but good food and nicely done. Prompt service from a very helpful man who was friendly! (he knew I needed the door to be held in order for me to get back in with the tray, LOL)

Went to Chicago for work then my family joined me for an extension for vacation. Perfect location for lake view and park view. Great eats and drinks within walking distance as well as museums and concerts and shopping. I thought it was beautiful, generally friendly and helpful staff. Room very clean and we'll decorated. Internet slow and spotty. Food for my work conference and restaurant was good as well.

Rooms are nice. Get a lake view room!!! Breakfast is pricey, but very good quality! Elevators are most always available.

The hotel is beautiful, and decorated gorgeously for the holidays. We got the room with 2 bathrooms which was a nice bonus. The beds were comfortable and the room looked nice. On closer inspection, it needs some updating. Chips in the bathroom, broken faucet handle. Strange that there was no fan in the bathroom and our thermostat didn't work. The hotel was packed with teenagers for a convention but it never felt crowded. Overall good.

I was here on business. This is one top notch Hotel. The rooms are great and the staff very helpful. If you enjoy luxury, this is it. Be sure to visit the historic pub on the main level.

Great hotel, great location. This is a very busy hotel as there were a lot of other conferences going on at the same time but the hotel does manage handling all this. Staff are friendly and our room was clean. Overall great place to stay, no complaints.

This whole hotel chain is going downhill fast. I wouldn’t stay here ever again. There is no warmth anywhere in this nasty cold hotel.

Nice upon check-in and views are amazing. Plenty of restaurants to choose from right in the hotel with good food, drinks, and service. You can self park or valet. Upon checkout make sure you go to the front desk before you leave if self parking.

This was one of the must beautiful hotels in Chicago. The lobby is extravagant, staff is helpful and the restaurants were fantastic.

By far, this is our number 1 hotel to stay at while in Downtown Chicago. It is comfortable and every staff member goes out of their way to make your stay the best ever.

I stayed here before seeing Billy Joel at Wrigley and would definitely stay here again. It's close to the museum campus and the Red Line L which basically gets you anywhere in Chicago.

We ate breakfast and had the buffet. It was your average buffet with made to order omelets and all the fruit and breads. The pancakes were stiff.

Spent the better part if a week in Chicago at this Hilton. It is conveniently placed and boasts historical connections. We were persuaded to upgrade to an executive room. It was located on an upper floor( 24). These floors have separate lift access which requires room key to activate lift. Room was quite but had no real view. Advise request a room with city or lake view if you go to this extra expense. Hotel decor and our room was a bit ‘tired’. Our fridge didn’t work to start with and when checking plugs found the area behind the desk very dusty. Tea and coffee provided in the executive room but nothing to eat and don’t expect slippers or bathrobes. Hand clothes were provided but not on our last day- maybe the hotel thought we would pinch them. If not used to the US system be aware that 3 separate extra taxes will be added to your bill each day over and above the advertised rate. Christmas decorations , especially the gingerbread model of Chicago was impressive.

My wife and I visited Chicago to see The Rolling Stones Concert. We stayed at the Hilton as it is walking distance to Soldier Field making it so easy to get in and out of the concert. The area is great with Grant Park, many attractions and tons of restaurants etc.. nearby. Great if you like to walk. The hotel is huge with many different areas within it. The room was clean with a beautiful view of the lake and Navy Pier etc.. There were a couple of negative experiences. We arrived very early and knew Checkin was not until 3pm. We checked and and were told we would be notified when our room was ready. We returned to the hotel about 1:30, and decided to wait there for the room. AS of 3:30 nothing. I spoke to the desk again and they said our room was still not ready but he did move us to a room that was available on a higher floor. The other negative was the room service. We did not need the room serviced on the first full day and left the Do Not Disturb on the door. The following day we left at 11am and expected service and new towels but nope. When we returned around 5:30 the room had not been touched. I chatted with the desk on the app and requested bath towels for the following morning. He said they would send them right up.. We returned from dinner at 8:30 and still no towels. I visited the desk and she apologized for lack of service and about 20 minutes layers towels were brought to us. Despite these two issues, our experience was very good and we would return to the hotel when we visit again.

There is a special ambiance to this type of hotel. The common areas are fascinating and historically important and gives these sense of easier times. Overall the hotel is renovated as best it can be but there are issues, such as restroom access in all common area levels. The elevator bank seems expansive and beautiful but delays were common. My room was small (but available when I arrived at 11am) and had an odd shape, with 60 square feet of unusable space (big enough for a chair and lamp) but nothing in it. There were no USB ports in the room. The closet could hold an entire wardrobe but you have to turn in sideways. The TV faced the nightstand - with the bed several feet off center. Given the hotel was built before there were TVs, that is a free pass. Nothing that big of a deal for a one night stay. The bed was great. WiFi fast. The room was silent. The staff was great. I appreciate keeping these old great hotels alive so there are going to be issues.

The hotel was built in 1927 and has that old world luxury feel. My wife and I stayed there for three nights in April 2017 on one of the executive floors. The breakfast served to the executive floor members was less than impressive. For the price of the room and the extra for the executive floor, we thought the breakfast would have been better. The room itself was an average big city hotel room. The toilet in the bathroom was right up next to the shower and the door for the bathroom had to be closed in order to even come close to sitting on the toilet. You had to almost sit sideways on the toilet to use it. Other than that, the hotel was beautiful and the location was excellent. Close to all major attractions and transportation.

Didn't expect much but had an amazing sleep and access to Chicago. The Chicago Hilton is perfect located across from a great park and has access to one of the best hotel health clubs I've ever visited. Will repeat for sure.

The hotel was very nice and clean. The staff was moderately friendly. Being a frequent Hilton guest I expected more from the hotel as I receive at other hotels. Not only did I pay an astronomical rate for the room but none of the amenities were included with the price. To use the gym was an extra charge. To store your luggage was an extra charge. Every time I turned around, the normal amenities include with a hotel stay were extra. The rooms were clean and the housekeeping staff was friendly. Other than that one redeeming quality this was one of my worst experiences with Hilton and I would not recommend staying here if you visit Chicago.

I was blow away by the Chicago Hilton's housekeeping staff during my recent stay. In particular, I'd like to given special thanks to Yolanda Estrada for making my stay so comfortable. She went way beyond the call of duty to ensure that my room was in perfect order. She is pleasant and a professional in her approach to her importantant positon at the Chicago Hilton.

My travel agent booked me into the Chicago Hilton and am glad she did. This is a grand and historic location right on Michigan Avenue. The lobby, registration, room and restaurants were very good. A person is able to get to downtown destinations quickly and easily. I am only giving it a four-star rating because of the sketchy concierge desk. I went to it three times during my visit and each time was essentially provided the BARE minimum of service. The personnel seemed far more interested in their computer screens than in helping me. It was almost as if I was imposing on them. I asked one if there was a luggage service available after checkout. She barely gave me an answer and told me "it changes every day." ?? I later found a desk at the south hotel entrance which is open 7 AM- 7 PM with a $2 charge per bag with access available through security after hours. Why didn't she just tell me? An overall nit, but, still... in a first class hotel? Don't let it stop you from staying however.

A classic in the true sense of the word. Just the history alone of this storied hotel makes the trip worth it. Of course the excellent staff and fine accommodations only enhance the experience. It couldn't be in a better location for running the marathon, shopping, or just doing the tourist thing.

Beautiful, historic hotel located in a great area of Chicago. My main comment is that the staff, without exception, was outstanding! From bellmen to desk clerks, to housekeeping staff, concierge staff, security---everyone with whom we had contact was exceptional! Constantly friendly, helpful, efficient--- huge asset to the hotel! The lobby area was opulent, with many references to historical occurrences that took place in the hotel. Our room was utilitarian---nothing outstanding, but comfortable and clean. I appreciated the in-room safe; would have appreciated a shelf in the bathroom to place personal items for our 3 night stay. We were with a huge group and there was never a time that people were not taken care of or made to wait for service. That deserves a gold medal!

I was in town for a conference which was also at the Chicago Hilton. Overall, the room was decent and typical of the Hilton brand. What prevents me from giving this hotel any higher rating was the fact the customer service was surprisingly poor. Being a Hilton Honors Diamond member I believe I have demonstrated my loyalty to the brand but feel it is not reciprocal. Specifically, when I checked in the representative seemed uninterested in seeing if there were any available upgrades or rooms on a higher floor (preference in my profile). I was also advised they do not have a club or executive floor which was once a Diamond benefit. After my first night I returned from a day of conferences and realized my room was not cleaned. I phoned the hotel operator who indicated I did not “opt in.” Perhaps I had an opportunity but did not realize Hilton Chicago did not have housekeeping unless you request. The operator indicated I needed to call the front desk if I wanted to have the room cleaned the following day. Twice I attempted to call the front desk but nobody answered. The most irritating thing about this stay was I asked (via Hilton app) to extend my checkout 15 minutes and was first denied. Since I had early meetings and was departing for the airport, this paltry 15 minuets would allow me the opportunity to use my bathroom to freshen up before leaving for the airport. After I responded with “I thought this was an earned benefit for Diamond members” did she agree to grant me an additional 15 minutes on a 4-day stay. We are at Kitty O’Sheas twice and despite being very crowded, the food was good and they have a nice selection of Irish beers. Breakfast two mornings at the 720 Grill was a bit expensive but had outstanding made-to-order omelets. However, lunch awful. 2 out of the three of us ordered salads and the lettuce was wilted. Service was also poor and we did not even bother to tell the server as we just needed to get the check to get back to our conference. Again, if not for a poor level of service I would have provided a higher rating. This experience combined with seeing little, if any benefit for my loyalty to the Hilton brand will allow me to begin looking at other options.

Very good service and great cuisine! Everybody at the hotel was very helpful and nice! The hotel is close to the State Street shopping district and to the Art Institute of Chicago.

I enjoyed the breakfast at the Chicago Hilton. Although a bit pricey, I enjoyed what they had to offer.

I have stayed here before and I wasn't impressed but this time, it was a wonderful experience. I got upgraded to a large room, nicely furnished and great view of the Lake. Catalina who checked me in was gracious and efficient. The food was actually good this time. and they kept checking in with me by text. I think when I visited before they were overwhelmed a bit by an event that was happening there. they are redeemed

Lots of selection and was very delicious. A little pricey but we didn't need to have lunch. Our server was very attentive.

Close to Soldier Field and the beautiful Chicago parks. Many great restaurants near by as well as the Chicago Aquarium, Field Museum, and other attractions. The Kitty O'Shea's Bar and Grill is a great spot in the lobby for a drink or casual dining. There is another nice, quiet bar in the main lobby as well. Good front desk people. This location has the advantage of being somewhat quieter than if staying several blocks north on Michigan Ave,. (Magnificent Mile - Gold Coast Area)

We are Hilton Honors members and Marriott members. If we return to Chicago we most likely will choose a Marriott. We stayed 4 nights and had decided to drop our rental car off at Midway Airport, rather than pay their outrageous prices for overnight parking. We had to take a taxi from the airport, although we knew, in advance, that the Chicago Hilton did not offer shuttle service. The hotel is massive and extremely noisy, due to the fact that they seem to cater to large conventions. (The lobby seems to be packed constantly, and sometimes we exited through the side doors.). Their restaurant, Kitty O'Sheas also was extremely loud, as we could hear it from the lobby. We had a king room reserved, and we were given a room on the 18th floor with an "inner view room" with not one, but 2 brick walls. We asked to be moved to a room that faced beautiful Michigan Ave and Lakeshore Drive. The person at the desk said she could do that for $40 extra (plus tax), per night, for our 4 nights. We changed rooms, only to find out that the windows had cobwebs on them and were very dirty. Also, the room was smaller, making the drawer space and closet much smaller than the original room. We also had a floor lamp (we think it was the floor lamp) that several times during the night seemed to flash on and then off. Finally, the lobby cafeteria type restaurant ..not sure if it was a Starbucks...was not very good. One of us had an egg sandwich on a tasteless bagel, with about 1/2 of an egg on it. I heard several other people complaining about the poor quality of the breakfast sandwiches. Also, many kept trying to find a comfortable seat, as most of the chairs were very low.

I stayed here for two nights for a conference. Had a great room with a view of Lake Michigan. This is a lovely hotel with really nice architecture. I would definitely stay here again.

Check in line was long! Hilton Diamond Member- got stuck in the back of hotel with no view. Ask for an upgrade said it was unavailable but the hotel still showed rooms available to book with a view. Too crowded for me. Nice happy hour and bar service. We had breakfast there too and the staff in the restaurant was very friendly. Location was good if your hitting the museums or millennium park, if you aren't hitting these I would stay further north, Had to pay $5 per item for the bellman to hold our bags for us after checkout including a birthday cake I picked up for my father in law that morning. Crazy..

Bathroom & beds clean, very poor lighting in the rooms, quiet, good staff, and sadly, Hilton has removed all Bibles from their hotel. Aren't we going a bit overboard with the political correctness? I won't return to a Hilton. Oh, and parking is $31 per day, NOT per 24 hours.

We were in Chicago for the 4th of July and this hotel was right near the park, which was a lovely location. The check in wasn't super friendly but not unpleasant. The porter at the front door was extremely helpful and friendly giving us directions to where we needed to go. The room was clean. Good coffee available in the lobby cafe which meant we didn't require the breakfast at an additional cost.

We ordered breakfast the morning we were leaving. The service was slow, but the food did arrive fresh and hot. And don't worry about the tip-it's automatically included! The food itself was exquisite! True culinary excellence and worth the price. We don't splurge often, but we did when we stayed at this hotel and we did when we ordered room service breakfast. Neither was a letdown.

Stayed here for 4 nights. Our travel agent had requested a quiet room and so glad he did because trains pass the hotel constantly. We didn't have a good view but we didn't hear the trains so much. People with a good view at the front of the hotel were deafened by the trains. Having said that the hotel is lovely with very friendly staff. The buffet breakfast is to die for, a bit expensive at $27, don't forget tax, but sets you up for the day. Room was large with comfortable beds. A tablet was provided to help you research things. It has a lovely pool and outdoor area. The only downside is that it didn't have a great dinner option for an evening meal. You could get room service but that's not the same. It has a nice Herb and Kitchen self service which is reasonably priced. Hop on hop off bus stops right outside the hotel. $65 for 48 hour pass. If you walk through Grant park you can get a water taxi to the pier for €8. It shows spectacular views of the coastline. If you like walking the hotel is within walking distance to many sightseeing places.

A few choices for food, American and Irish Pub. Both have a wide variety of menu choices for everyone. Great food!
Amazing Hotel, You Must Fix Your WIFI!!!
Stayed on the 7th floor. Poor view but room was comfortable, no complaints. The hotel itself is gorgeous and has been featured in several movies. Great location and across the street from the park. Went on business for a conference. The Grand Ballroom is beautiful (and massive). Young lady at the front desk, Natalia I believe, was just awesome. Despite the line she gave us excellent service working with a vendor's check, giving directions and orienting us to the city. The little cafe/coffee shop is excellent they have healthy options and the deep dish pizza is also good. Regarding the WIFI, I was able to get on sporadically but I couldn't upload videos to Youtube. This was a problem for me and for that reason I would not stay here again. This is unacceptable.
