We loved it. The chicken parm is very tasty and the 4 cheese ravioli is lovely. Great service. Fun atmosphere. I will definitely be back the next time I’m passing through Vegas.

We were looking for a dining experience away from the strip and hotels, preferably an Italian restaurant. Our first choice was closed. Friends reccommended Chicago Joe's. The place is a really refreshing change from all the glitz. We had a little bit of a wait, but it proved to be well woth the wait. I had the traditional spaghetti, which was very good and more than I needed. The others in our party all commented on the quality of their food. Upon learning it was my wife's birthday, Our waiter made sure we had a shared dessert. We left very satisfied. We can't wait to return.

We heard about Chicago Joe's from the Food Channel and tried two times to eat there. Unfortunately they are closed on Sunday and Monday. IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT. We went on Thursday for lunch (parking in the back and street is limited) and were greeted right away. The place only has 14 tables, as it was converted from the Grandmother's house. It was absolutely charming from the looks, the wonderful aroma and the service. I ordered a glass of Cabernet and got it in the traditional small drinking glass; I loved it. The Lasagna was on special and it was more than I expected. The serving size was more than I could eat for lunch; but the next day it tasted even better. Not too acidic; just the way I liked it. Everything is made from scratch. Try this charming place; you won't be disappointed.

it is literally in a house, so very cozy! Atmosphere very nice, good service and very nice food. I had a salad, spaghetti and meatballs with bottomless cold tea for $11!!! And, the meatballs were delicious! Well worth visiting to get away from the big hotels and restaurants. I will return.

Best sauce in town. Love the atmosphere, location, and servers. Try the garlic toast, artichoke, and desserts.

Hadn’t been here in years and will probably be my last visit. Ordered linguine with White clam sauce and the pasta was too el dente for my liking and just didn’t have a good flavor so I sent it back. Their red sauce is way too thick and tomato pasty. I married into an Italian family and I know what good sauce tastes like.

Restaurant in a house? It sounds crazy and yet it's a perfect setting to set off wonderful food. Large enough dinner portions to enjoy a second time.

It's about a ten minute ride from the mid-strip, but Chicago Joe's is excellent food and a nice change of pace from what you'll find in the big Vegas casinos. It is a small dining room and doesn't look like the best neighborhood (but we never felt unsafe). The draw...what makes it worth the trip...is the food. Everything that our dinner party had was outstanding. Lasagna, chicken marsala and chicken parm were all delicious. I would highly recommend a visit to Chicago Joe's. Terrific Italian food, excellent service all at a very nice value.

Quality seafood ravioli special that was delicious. The location and house feel were great to eat in. Would have liked a more "fresh" salad to start the meal and possibly some more interaction from the server at a location like this. Partner has the spaghetti with garlic and oil and was happy with her selection as well.

The food is just soooooooo good. We did the value pack which feeds 5 of spaghetti and meatballs, comes with tons of bread, salad. The creamy garlic dressing wow. $35... it feeds 2 for 3 days..... We have only done take out, so we can have a quiet fun meal alone. But the place itself is so neat. Christmas lights everywhere is the only lighting.

This is the best deal in Vegas. Delicious lasagna and spaghetti. The cheesy garlic bread is a meal in itself. Make sure to get the creamy garlic dressing on the salad-so yummy. Quick service and inexpensive. Lunch specials are like lining up all 7's!

Had the veal and it was excellent.. Service was very good. There are two parking lots one in the front and one in the back. Parking is very tight in the front and the two spots by the handicap parking in the front are a challenge to back out. Traffic entering into the front parking lot can be difficult due to the speeding cars who get upset when one slows down to enter into the parking lot. There is a notice when one gets the bill that if one uses a credit card, there is a four percent surcharge which to me is inappropriate. Cost is rather pricy for the atmosphere.

Oh. My. God. This place is the best! We were sent here by some locals we met in the pool. Its just a little hole in the wall place. The bread was to die for. Its a small place so id recommend reservations. I had the lasagna. Dang good! My friend had the fettucine which also was very good. Everytime im in vegas im going to be coming here.

My husband had raved about this place. He had eaten there several years ago on a previous trip to Vegas. The establishment was not what I expected, but I like quaint little places. And, it is SMALL and confined. Very casual, and "homey". I had the baked tortellini. It was good, but super cheesy. Their marinara sauce was good. My serving was HUGE. My husband had the chicken marsala, and he loved it. We started with some cheese bread, which was really good. They definitley have great bread. All in all, it was pretty good. Not the best italian food I've ever had, but good. Not sure if I would travel that far from the Strip to eat there again. If you are staying downtown, it may be closer for you. Just don't expect great ambience...it's confined, and tiny. Depending on who you are sitting near, it can be loud in the sense that you can hear everyone's conversations. (and we had a very chatty and loud gal next to us) My husband had talked this place up so much that I feel like I was just expecting more.

Quaint little spot in an old house near downtown Las Vegas. Great food and service. Excellent alternative for a more intimate and unique dining experience.

Was looking for somewhere to and stumbled across this place! Tiny spot to get an amazing meal! Has the feel of an old school itialian mom and pop resturant. The fresh made bread had the perfect crunchiness and tastes great with butter. The cheesy garlic bread is even better. I ordered the Chicago combo sandwhich. Which has itailian sausage and beef on it. Made with the same fresh bread. Topped with cheese, onions, peppers and mushrooms. Taste is ridiculous! You won't find a better price to quality ratio anywhere in Las Vegas! Lawrence did a great job also!

I saw Chicago Joe’s on a travel show and immediately placed it on my to do in Vegas dining list. It’s in a carefully decorated house -- I loved the homey ambiance -- in a quiet area of the strip towards old Vegas. It’s very small, so I would definitely recommend a reservation. I had the pasta with a spicy red sauce and it was superb. You can select your spice level here, which in my experience is not common in Italian restaurants. A nice big house salad to start. The lasagna, which also was excellent, is easily enough for two. Service was friendly and efficient. This is an unpretentious, authentic Italian restaurant, with great food and service. Prices are very reasonable.

I've been coming here for 25 years and have never had a bad experience. I am a Vegas local and always recommend this place when people ask for a great restaurant to try. My favorite menu item is Shrimp Joe. Pasta in a butter and garlic sauce with mushrooms, red pepper flakes and a generous portion of shrimp. Amazing. Highly recommend making reservations.

This place has been around since 1975--great food, friendly staff and worth going to for lunch or dinner. Have been going there for 30 years and always wonder why I have not gone more frequently. Great dinner special before 6:30 pm.

Although I didn't care for anything that came out of the kitchen, finding the food terrible, I didn't rate this restaurant as 'poor' or 'terrible'. It's a tiny little Italian restaurant, off the strip, that you'll need to drive to. The reason we made the reservation was because a couple of people in our party of seven had been there before and liked it enough to return. Tiny is an understatement. When we opened the front door, there was a robust woman sitting in her chair (at her table) all but blocking the front door. If you were more than 150-pounds, you might not be able to squeeze by to enter the building. Odd, but morbidly interesting at the same time. This place is as if you took a tiny little Italian grandmother's house and knocked down the walls. Viola, restaurant. Someone had the bright idea to string-up some green party lights. Why? Who knows. There's a few Rat Pack black and whites on wall as well. Our waiter was a big tall man, hunched over, probably from years of walking around inside this little house, trying to duck through the little doorways. He was friendly, polite, etc. I was happy that they offered gluten free pasta. I ordered the featured salad. It sounded amazing; watermelon with a balsamic dressing. Yum! Well, it wasn't. Not even close. When it arrived, I didn't recognize that it was for me. Nothing watermelon about it. It was brown. Dark brown. It was seriously a swimming pool of balsamic. Almost comedic how much dressing was floating in that bowl. The watermelon pieces were just a few little diced up cubes, fit for a taco salad. The rest was unrecognizable brown fruit drenched in balsamic. It was terrible. I had to shove it to the side. The waiter did not notice that it was unconsumed. Others at the table were doing well with other appetizers. So props for that. When the entrees came, those that opted for chicken Parmesan or Alfredo did okay. The gluten free pasta was inedible. I took a couple bites and shoved that to the side. Again the waiter did not notice that I ate nothing. Oh well. I thought that was a miss, however the others enjoyed their food. I can not entirely fault the restaurant on the gluten free pasta. I would like to recommend to them that they offer a gluten free pasta that tastes good though. Many GF brands are disgusting as that one was. I would suggest they try Jovial (been making GF pasta since 1970) or Millet angel hair. Most GF eaters would be happy to pay an up-charge. There are over 3-million gluten free diners out there. So in summary, most others in our party liked the food. I didn't, but will not entirely judge them on the meal since the pasta was a gluten free option. I will take away a star for the server not keying in on the fact that I did not eat anything he brought me. He was a good server, and very friendly, but not overly attentive. The restaurant was tiny, but not charming or interesting. So I took another star away for that. My friends might return here again, but next time I'll stay on the strip.

Attended a Birthday party and wait staff did an excellent job with our large group. Food was wonderful and the ambiance is quite nice. Will definitely return!

Good food, Great waitstaff. Italian music, candlelight, checker tablecloths. Very quaint. Not a lot of parking but you can park on the street. No hustle and bustle like in a big restaurant.

Dinner was Very good Not KOSHER Some vegetarian dishes Our waiter very patiently explained what each dish consisted of. He made sure to inform us some vegetable dishes were made with a beef or chicken stock base . my husband had antipasto sale and a special chicken dish. The bowl of Pasta and white bean soup was another great meal in its self, the beans and pasta and were cooked to perfection . Not too hard and not overcooked . M. Had e Garlic bread with cheese , Eggplant, pasta and meatless red Maranari sauce. And a wonderful salad It was good. I had an excellent lasagna with meat sauce and baked Stuffed Artichoke which was ok , I like my stuffing dryer. it was bit soggy and very tastey . All of the dishes were Huge.enough for 2 people Fresh bread and real butter was served . We split a conoli for desert, when we cut into it to share we discovered the middle was not filled with the cheese mixture. The shell, was delious and crisp. The real rigacotta cheese filling had chocolate chips and was on the very sweet side .and had powdered sugar on top.

This place is small and off the main areas, but worth it. Great food (fantastic sauce) and very friendly staff. Definitely go for the cheesy garlic bread. Eggplant portions are very large and meatballs are the best I've had since Grandma used to make them.

It's cool that's in an old house. The food was pretty good but really nothing to rave about. Certainly not the meal of a lifetime, just comfortable. Prices are a bit on the steep side (not terrible but certainly not a bargain.) Not many vegetarian choices (surprising for Italian.) As has been mentioned in several other reviews, they were definitely short-staffed. The place filled up after we got there and there were, literally, two people in the the front of the house. They were seating, serving, bussing, answering the phone, taking orders. It's ridiculous that they didn't at least have a busboy to clear tables. The waiters worked hard - they were just being asked to do too much. Rated service a "3" but it's not the waiters fault - they need more staff to help out. Be sure to make a reservation though - popular place.

Chicago Joes has been around forever, and the locals love it. It's always crowded, but no one minds. They have great Italian food for a nominal cost and with lots of ambience.

We visited on the Vegas Valley Food Tour and enjoyed the pasta and meatballs, warm bread and butter and ate every last bite of the best Cannoli's in Vegas! Even though it was the last stop and we were on the full side we couldn't resist! We will DEFINATELY be back next time we are in town, we go every year! Thank you!

We are so happy a local we met at the hockey game told us about this place. If you got to Fremont by bus then you can hop on the free shuttle tour and get off at the pawn shop and go down Gass 1 block to 4th street and there it is. I really loved the garlic dressing on the salad, nothing I can find in Canada so creamy and garlicky. The portions are big and very flavorful. The prices were very reasonable. The service was great and very friendly.

After the hype and colour of Fremont street it was a joy and relief to find this superb Italian restaurant two blocks away to spend a pleasant evening catching up with family our first night in Las Vegas. The house burgundy was excellent as was the pasta Marinara bread and salad. No frills but well priced. An oasis of calm in the frenetically paced night scene where we could talk and be ourselves in peace.

I don't know where to start here. The food is beyond great and the staff are super friendly. The first time we visited here they were booked solid for dinner, but our waiter made room for us to dine. I love the Chicken Marsala and Chicago Shrimp. Since we have moved we always make this a stop on visits back to Vegas.

Chicago Joe's is the antithesis of Las Vegas Strip dining. The cozy setting is a small house close to downtown that keeps the homey feel - there can't be more than 15 tables- and combines it with attentive service and home style Italian cooking. You feel like your having Sunday dinner at your Grandma's house. The prices were reasonable. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the experience! We've added Chicago Joe's to ur list of places to go when we visit Las Vegas.

Stumbled upon a hidden gem! The exterior was questionable and made me doubt it was worth a try but am sooo glad we did! Quaint atmosphere with amazing hosts who might’ve been brothers! I asked about chicken piccata not being on the menu and our host gladly said they would make it for me “no problem”! It was fantastic! Great homemade meat sauce and garlic bread! Affordable prices! Worth the $12 Uber to this slightly off the strip spot!

Great place with great food. Very quiet with an old Chicago Gangster feel, but not over done. Reservations are a must at this place. We saw several people turned away as walk ins. The food was very good and the location is towards down town. I would suggest that if you go to Vegas this would be a great place to eat.

Chicago Joe's is among the astounding restaurants in Las Vegas and probably the best place for the Italian and vegetable foods lovers. High-quality Italian food topped with the cheese, creamy garlic, onion, pepper, mushrooms and much more which make the food more delicious and luscious and ultimately brings water into the mouth. This is the small restaurant in Las Vegas consists of about 12 tables but the cleanliness and tidiness make the heart fill with joy. The food and service isn't expensive but affordable.

Loved the ambiance of this restaurant. Very friendly and food was plentiful and delicious. Chicken cacciatore was scrumptious. I had the spaghetti with 🐌. Definitely will return

Made a decision to eat here based on the “mobsters” used to eat here. Bit late, 9:30pm, but it’s Vegas right? Call on the way over as we were going to be 5 minutes late, guy who answered said he’d tell the kitchen to stop breaking down. Bad sign. We arrive to a small house on a side street. You’d probably drive by and not notice it if you weren’t looking. All part of the experience, made it seem “cooler”. Either front door was locked or I suck at working door knobs. I’ll go with the latter being most likely. We were welcomed by the host/waiter. Quiet guy. Nice interior. 6 tables in the front, maybe another 6 in the back. I order the penne with meat sauce and sausage and my brother the chicken parm with a side of linguine in Alfredo. . Some garlic bread with cheese to start along with the garden salad that came with the meal. I need to stop here and describe the service because I don’t want to harp on it. He was efficient. But seemingly put out by us eating so late. Another table came in with us and there was two more already there. Don’t read it as unfriendly but more disinterested. It was almost comical. But our drinks kept getting refilled and everything was served in a timely manner. Although not correctly. I ordered a salad with garlic dressing and got Italian. I ordered pasta with sausage and got meatballs. Down to the food. Garlic bread was tasty. Salad was meh. I don’t mind Italian dressing but the lettuce seemed soggy. Was accented by one miniature baby carrot that tasted like it just came out of a bag. Made think of Gordon Ramsey losing his mind. My penne was excellent. I’d say authentic if I was Italian and had a nonna. But I don’t so it was really good. The chicken parm was ... okay. Bland. But okay. The linguine was over cooked and the sauce not very good. To be honest I’d give it another shot. We did come late so maybe the food quality wasn’t at its best? My advice to the restaurant is if you want to close at 8, then close at 8. Also, just care a little bit more about your food. There is potential here. I see some things from 2002, Zagats, “best of Las Vegas” etc. Return to that glory.

If you're looking for REAL HOMEMADE ITALIAN FOOD, look no further! This is NOT A CHAIN or FRANCHISE! It was opened many years ago by a Chicago native (I got the whole scoop from our waiter). The same Owner/family for all these years, leads to outstanding everything! The lasagna was not like anything I'd ever had! I'm used to "a piece of lasagna" on a plate. What I got was an over sized crock out of the oven packed with lasagna! The garlic bread was hot and a perfect combo for lunch. I couldn't finish it all; it's a very large portion. My Husband and friends shared pizza, which looked delicious and was, according to their rave reviews! It's a small cozy place that looks like you're going into Chicago Joe's house. Highly recommend it for lunch. Not easy to find, but worth the effort to get there!

Asked a local diner owner where he would go for good Italian and he said "no place but Chicago Joe's" He was "spot on" and it was a fantastic! From the fresh bread and great wine selection to the homemade salad dressings and unbelievable pasta offerings. Wish I would have found this place years ago. No more than 15 tables so make reservations early.

Chicago Joe's has been on my radar for a while, but the wife and I never made it over until recently. Went on a Friday night around 8pm. Place was almost empty. This is not a bad thing necessarily because it is a SMALL location. The main dining room has maybe six tables in it, with a few more in a back area. It plays into the ambiance of the restaurant. It is set in an old house in Downtown Vegas. The walls are covered in various memorabilia, articles, specials, and various other décor. A variety of music plays softly in the background. As far as setting, I loved it. Tell us about the food, already! Ok. We ordered two entrees, the lasagna and the chicken parm. Big servings of deliciousness. While no two chicken parms seem to ever be prepared the same way, I felt it had excellent flavor, as did the small side of pasta. The lasagna looked like a loaf. It was a very generous portion. The wife enjoyed it as well. We started with the baked stuffed artichoke. Not my favorite, as the breading had no flavor for me. The pasta fagioli was very good, and the fresh bread they bring you was AMAZING. Warm, slightly crispy crust, with a soft middle just waiting for butter or oil and balsamic vinegar. I would definitely go back, and you should too!

3 for dinner on a Tuesday night. Perhaps they were short a server as it took awhile to get a drink order. I always look for independent restaurants especially ones that have been around for so long like this one. The wine list is tired for sure, the syrah by the glass was good for $8.25 poured in a small old style glass, so you have a good price point but a very small pour to go along with it. The warm bread was very good, the lasagna and chicken piccata was also good and I asked for vegetables instead of pasta which came gratin style in a side dish. They could use some updating but perhaps most feel its part of the charm as they were busy on this week night. No one could find the restroom as it looks like a closet door with no sign. My out of town friends enjoyed it very much. Glad after all these years in town that I tried it.

Since the 1970s, Chicago Joe's has been a favorite place for wonderful Italian cuisine in Las Vegas. All the locals rave about it, and last week my son and his wife stopped by TWICE for nostalgic reasons. Chicago Joe's is still the Best! Thank you so much.

I have a few friends who went to this place and gave it a good recommendation. This was my first time eating here, and my expectations were pretty high. However, judging from I received, I have to rate this place as poor overall on both food quality and pricing. I ordered the chicken Parmesan because it is the best way to test an Italian restaurant’s food quality. The chicken was a thin, sliced piece of chicken breast that appeared to be pan fried. It was not coated in breadcrumbs, but was rather bare and smothered in marinara. There was some melted cheese and breadcrumbs sprinkled on top of the chicken pieces but I never got a taste of parmesan or olive oil that would be nice. The marinara was bland and salty and tasted like it came out of a can. The chicken being unseasoned and unbreaded lacked any significant taste. They brought us loaves of bread that were lukewarm, and the butter was refrigerator cold. Overall the dining experience was mediocre at best. Due to the low quality food, the prices didn’t really make sense. I am willing to pay a lot for good food,$ but Chicago Joe’s fails to deliver. The service was a bit rough and impersonal. Not recommended.

There were 7 of us, everything on the menu is big portions, I don't think anyone finished their dishes, but that could be the the 3 appetizers before hand. Great place, good food, felt very warm and home feel.

The food wasn't too bad and the service was really good. There is really nothing to set it apart from the average Italian Restaurant anywhere.

Was told of this resturant from one of the dealers at the casino. We went there to try it out, arrived a little after 5PM. The asked if we had a reservation and we said NO, but they still seated us right away. They offer a a special Lite rate if you dine before 6:30PM. I got the "smaller" lasagana and my wife ordered the Chicage Lobster dinner. Both meals were excellent, was some of the best Itallian food I have ever eaten. Service was Outstanding. Highly recommend trying it out if you are in Downtown Las Vega.

I'm born and raised Italian. I consider myself almost a "sauce snob". I love this place! Red and white checkered tablecloths, Chianti bottle candle holders, you can hear grandma in the kitchen. It's like Sunday dinner at Nana's. Try the meat lasagna I think it's one of the best I've ever had at a restaurant.

Saw this place on "Diners and Dives" and decided to try it on our last trip to Las Vegas. We were seated in the front room so I have no idea about the ambience of the rest of the place- not much in our section! I had the stuffed artichoke that had an odd flavor. It large and had plenty of stuffing but the taste was strange- can't identify the spice but did not care of the flavor. Husband had the cioppino which was good but not outstanding. The waiter was attentive without being obnoxious. Parking is available in a small lot behind the restaurant. Doubt we'll go back as there are so many good places to eat in Las Vegas but would try something with red sauce if we ever return...it looked yummy.

Can’t wait to return!! What a find old world charm. Super friendly staff m. Felt like I was eating dinner at my grand parents house. The good was authentic and delicious. We highly recommend.

Ate here our first night in Vegas after reading that this was one of the top two or three Italian restaurants in the area. Made a reservation, which YOU REALLY SHOULD DO before you go. Small place that's basically in a house, as it has about 12 or so tables. Our waiter Ben was awesome. We were informed it was his first night on his own and he did a GREAT job! Food was absolutely amazing. My wife and I both got the "small" serving of Eggplant Parmesan, and it was more than enough to fill us up for dinner. It came with pasta and we had some warm bread on the table before hand, so it was perfect....not too much, and we certainly were satisfied after we were done. We also got the Spumoni as desert and we enjoyed that as well. In summation, THIS is the best Italian restaurant we have been to, and since my Grandmother moved to this country from Italy, I have been to a TON of them. Service is great, atmosphere is great, place is spotless, and it's perfect for a romantic dinner or to hang out with friends. We would give it a 100 if we could! We will be back in Vegas again and every time we come we will absolutely make sure we eat here at least once.

Went downtown to see the Freemont experience and decided to try out Chicago Joe's based on positive Open Table reviews. The restaurant is located in the Arts District neighborhood and parking was available in their lot. The restaurant is not real large and is adorned with red checkerboard table cloths. We were quickly seated and had our wine served by our waiter, Phil. He informed us of their specials and his favorites and we ordered the stuffed baked artichoke appetizer followed by lasagna and pasta luigi which was a special. Everything was outstanding and we had half our entrees to take home along with a freshly made cannoli. The large house salad with creamy garlic dressing that came with our meals was excellent. I highly recommend a red sauce entrée here!

We were recommended this little gem by our Lyft driver and it didn’t disappoint. The staff were amazing and the food was beautiful. We had a fab time and would highly recommend.

Good food great service what more could you ask for in Las Vegas. And by the way Did I mention the prices are more than reasonable. The sauce was very tasty And the portions were large. Give this place A try.

We arrived for open on a weekday (lunch), used 2 hr street parking in front. Slow down and pay attention it's easy to go right by if not paying attention. Arrived and was not sure to wait or seat your self. More of a directed verbal thing sit wherever you want in most cases. Very small. Sign says ramp in back for WC access. I have accommodated the disabled and would have concerns with this especially in the bathroom. I suppose it would be do-able but with extra effort. Waiter was helpful, sincere and knew and did all the right things and at the right time. Good value and reasonable. Meal was good and prompt, no problems first class operation and would go the effort to return again. Thank you...

I take friends and family here when they visit town. I have never had a bad dining experience here. As always, service was impeccable, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was great. My mom and step dad were in town celebrating their 20th anniversary and I mentioned that while making the reservations. They never acknowledged the occasion but I will definitely let that slide since everything else was great as always.

Heard from a friend this was a great place and that was spot on. Small and cozy like eating at a friends house. Food was incredible. The lasagna was like none I have ever had but will now be the bar I judge from. Worth a visit next time you are in Vegas. About 1/2 between strip and Fremont so stop on your way as you will want to walk a bit after this meal.

I have been coming to Las Vegas for years. I don't know how I missed this place. Great little Italian restaurant with really good food. The best was the stuffed artichoke. (call ahead to reserve one - they sell out). Really, every dish was very good and the service excellent. I highly recommend this place.

Believe it or not, I’ve lived here my whole life and I’ve never eaten at Chicago Joe’s! It’s a small, cozy, simple house that was converted into a restaurant in 1975! The menu is small and simple Italian dishes and simple wine list which includes a ‘house’ wine. Their special of the day, Seafood Joe’s (Spaghetti with lobster, bay scallops and shrimp) was very good!! Our server and staff were very friendly and on top of everything. Nice ‘Old School’ spot for a cozy meal or dinner date. Glad to see this little place survived 2020! ❤️🍽🍷

You will know your in the right place as soon as you open the door. The outstanding aroma of tomato sauce with Romano and Parmesan Cheese covers the entire restaurant. Chicago Joe’s is close to downtown Las Vegas (Fremont Street) and is open limited hours. Check their business hours … you will be rewarded with excellent traditional Italian Food. Chicago Joe’s is a small restaurant in a quiet location with a home feel atmosphere. Don't miss it.

We were looking for an Italian restaurant in Vegas that was more on the traditional side and would not require us to go down to the Strip. Chicago Joe’s was about 3-4 blocks from our hotel (Plaza). We arrived around 8:15 pm on a Saturday night - restaurant was about half full with plenty of parking in the back. We orderd pretty quickly, but service from then on was slow. The pasta fagioli was great! We also ordered the garlic cheese bread, cheese ravioli, and chicken parmesan. All of the food was fantastic! Despite the slower service, we will most likely return in the future since the food was so good.

We came here with friends who had heard about this through the grapevine. It certainly is unique, located in a small house in the middle of the concrete jungle. The inside is very nice and whisks you away from the bustle of Vegas. I ordered the eggplant lasagna and it was absolutely delicious as was the cheese bread. Looking around my table I did not see anything out of the ordinary for Italian food (mostly pasta) but the meal was enjoyed by all. The service was professional and polite. Although, the meal was enjoyable, with affordable prices, it was not a huge home run so I will probably try other places next time I am in town.

This little place has some surprising great Italian food. The prices and wine selection are great. The only problem is the service is very poor. The server taking the order isn't the same person delivering the food to the table. Incomplete and mixed delivery occurs. Splitting bills become hand written separate notes rather than from any machine/computer receipts.

Food ok. Service no he’ll. Not worth the effort to go.......don’t waste your Time or money. .too much garlic ina th good too

We decided to go off the strip for a meal and found this little gem a few streets away! The restaurant really is an old converted house with a lot of history. I had a spicy shrimp dish over pasta and we also had a spicy chicken dish. It came with soup or salad, which we had one of each. The pasta fagiole soup was delicious. The salad very fresh and dressing was very light. A loaf of warm bread is brought out as well. Our server was very friendly, offering menu suggestions. We each had two glasses of wine. Our bill was under 50 dollars and we each left with enough food for another meal! My shrimp pasta had at least 10 huge shrimp. I really have nothing negative to say about this restaurant!

A must stop in Vegas. Delicious garlic cheese bread; generous lasagna and delicious cannolis. Quick service and reasonable price. Locals eat here.

This was a tough one for me. I liked the house. Small and intimate. It promised a home made pasta and Italian mama sweating in the kitchen kind of feel to it. Lots of love, you know. TLC...It was full of promise, this small house! They graciously accommodated our 18 person group. The waiter seemed like he WAS from Chicago, which is fine. I grew up in Illinois. The artichoke appetizer was okay. Not great. The garlic bread was good. My rigatoni special was not special. The pasta was meh. The meat ball in the special was too. The red sauce was fine but again, not special. The Chianti was served in a small glass that was unusual. It was fine. Others raved about their dinners. I thought it was average. I would probably try another place. Service was good but the home made promise made me promise to stay away from Italian when out. I make it better at home myself.

Sounds like a pizza place and you can get pizza there but without a doubt the best Italian food I've ever had except for my friend Carol in Cleveland. An old house in the middle of nowhere. What a surprise!

Went at lunchtime with a friend. Garlic bread was delicious and great value at $4, sausage sandwich was also nice and not to pricey.

Excellent food, great prices, cozy atmosphere. This was our second time coming here when visiting Vegas. It's close to downtown if you have a car and the street parking is easy.

I will typically try a spot out twice if it was at least decent and more if I think it's great. I honestly don't know how many times I have been to Chicago Joes now. I have had quite a few things off of their menu and they were all memorable. My last visit was at the end of October. A couple of friends were in town and I told them I wanted to take them to a restaurant I loved and they would too. We had our reservation made and when we arrived a little early, we were seated immediately. To paint a picture of how this restaurant is set up, imagine a small house dimly lit with Frank Sinatra playing in the background. You can taste the food before even walking in...and it smells amazing! I always start out with the garlic bread w/ cheese. The sauce that it comes with is mouth watering. This time I ordered the special, which was crab ravioli topped with shrimp. I wish this was on their regular menu because I would order it every time! very good sauce that was full of flavor but not too rich. The portions are more than enough, you won't leave hungry and likely won't have room for dessert. I wish I could comment on their desserts, but unfortunately I have never succeeded in getting to dessert. Take it from a local, this place is the real deal! A fair price for great food in a quaint little hole in the wall. When trying to find it, be careful not to blink or you'll miss it!

We were at the Children's Museum and were looking for a place to eat. This place had good reviews, so we thought we would give it a shot. WOW, we were not disappointed. The atmosphere is like being at home. The Italian menu was typical but plentiful and delicious. All of us took a doggie bag home. We would return when in the area again.

Are there a few weeks ago.It gets good reviews.Food was terrible.3 of us had chicken par M other had spaghetti and meatballs.Sauce was terrible , chicken was rubbery which meant was probably microwaved.Too Many spots in Vegas to eat i would never go back.

I loved this place and was lucky to find this gem. It is located downtown away from the strip well worth the trip! Service was great very attentive. Great atmosphere. It is a small house I recommend calling and making reservations. The loaves of bread on the table were fresh and delicious and we got more bread. I ordered lasagna and it was great with generous pieces of meat and mm cheese so yummy and hot.

First found this place on a 2019 trip to Vegas. Went back this month and tried it again. This place is AMAZING. Not near the Strip and is in a nondescript old house. But the food, service, and atmosphere is wonderful. Best linguini with white clam sauce I ever tasted. If you go to Vegas, forget the fancy restaurants on the Strip and try Chicago Joe’s. You won’t be disappointed. Be sure and get a reservation.

Went with couple friends, we all ordered one of the specials. Some of the orders went to the wrong person (because we didn't pay attention to what we ordered) and no one cared. Everything was just delicious.

In town for a few days and wanted to try a few new places to eat. Ended up here for dinner one night. Didn't have reservations, but were able to get in with just a couple minutes wait. Place is really small, maybe a dozen tables or so. The guys out from are very nice, and joked around and made things fun. The food came fairly quickly and was very tasty and good size portions and the price was very affordable. The sausage used in the Lasagna had very good flavor. Would definitely come back again if I have a chance.

Small intimate restaurant - perfect for dinner before a show on strip. Make reservations!! Food was great - smaller portion was plenty of food.

I've been going here since the mid 90s. Marlene and Joe are the best. The food is great, the portions are great and the prices are great. Every time I go to Vegas, I make it a point to stop. Their version of the "Tour of Italy" will make you commit gluttony ♡

Went in a group of six. What a great old-fashioned place. The food was simply the best. Randy our server was funny, spot on and had great suggestions.

Make a reservation that's all I have to say. I think they only have 2 waiters which was just fine. We both had the pasta e fagioli " very Good " For dinner they made something that's not listed on the menu for me. Baked Rigatoni with eggplant they did a very good job. It's located on the poor side of town.

This charming Italian restaurant is located in a small house in the downtown area. I would highly recommend reservations as they were packed the night we visited. The salad dressing was homemade and delicious. I had pasta and found the sauce to be very flavorful. Portions are large and the wine was reasonably priced.

Arguably the best Italian food in town. Very small restaurant in, what appears to be a former house. There is limited parking in the back which you need to access from the alley. Inside, it feels different in all of the right ways. Make sure to get reservations.

We went here for lunch and it was a little odd, on the approach, it looks a lot like it's a home! I ordered chicken parmigiana and my friend ordered the spagetti meatballs and we both enjoyed our meals. The other customers seemed to be regulars there, which would suggest the other menu items are pretty good too.

Chicago's Joe was a great disappointment. It was highly recommended by a restaurant in Vegas TV show but it did not live up to its expectations. My wife actually could not eat any of her lasagna; it was that bad. I ordered the same and struggled to eat it as it was basically a ball of cheese & meat. Place was cute but food was terrible.

This small and charming restaurant was a delightful surprise. It is in an older part of Las Vegas - away from the craziness of the Strip. The parking lot behind the restaurant was full, but it was easy to find nearby street parking (no charge). The waiters could have been characters in a movie about old Chicago, very polite, but they just looked like Italians from the Windy City. I had the lasagna and a salad from their early bird menu and the portions were fulling. So much so that there was no room for dessert. The service was first rate and the food was excellent. Very glad I decided to give it a try. I was there on business, but this would be an excellent place to take a date.

Second time we have eaten here. I ordered the veal. If in think a dish will be good I’ll order it. This veal dish was $45.00. I expected a nice size veal chop. I was served shaved veal in a sauce similar to what is prepared for biscuits and gravy. I was pissed. We brought Italian friends from Chicago with us. Their lasagna was atrocious. The service was slow as well. We go to Vegas several times a year and seek out unique diverse restaurants off the strip . After the humiliation experienced taking friends here we will never return This place has seriously declined. A real shame

It is first and foremost so unique and darling! Front door was open so we walked right in... Felt like going to grandmas house. We had an early dinner at 5:30. Had used Opentable for a reservation, we were early but they did seat us. It is small, but cozy. Amazing how room was full, everyone talking but not a loud atmosphere. We had delicious salad with a creamy dressing that was just enough flavor but still tasted the salad. And the loaves of bread were warm with a crispy chewy crust, soft warm goodness inside. (Real butter). We ordered chicken parmigiana. Not overly breaded, moist chicken with flavorful sauce and plenty of melted cheese. Delicious! Waiter was attentive, efficient, and nice. When can I go back!! I would make a reservation, it is a very small place.

This is a must go to restaurant! The food is excellent! Very traditional Italian food that's off the charts delish! Salad dressing is great. They only have 2 dressings. Don't expect French ranch or thousand. Garlic bread was yummy and the lasagna was piping hot and tons of flavor! It's kinda Wierd when you first walk in. Your walking into there living room/dining room. With no one really to greet you. Who cares, it's priced right food is outstanding and service is good. Can't remember our waiters name. He was a little quirky, but nice. You have to eat here! It's that good!

We just returned from 4 days in Las Vegas. One of the highlights was discovering Chicago Joe's Italian restaurant, a small locals place away from the Strip. The food was fantastic. I had the crab and shrimp ravioli with basil cream sauce and grilled shrimp. The dinner salad was great. Others had the spinach lasagna and spaghetti with sausage. Everyone loved their food. Our waiter, Darren was exceptional. The tiramisu was also wonderful. We arrived with no reservation and the owner accommodated us. This is a 'must go' upon any return visit

Great friendly service! Love the atmosphere and food was fast and delicious. Real Italian family food. Would recommend

Long time local restaurant with AMAZING food. Reservations necessary (especially on weekends/holidays) as it is limited in seating capacity. There is nothing on the menu that isn't awesome. All their items have stood the test of time and are delicious. Servers are well acquainted with menu items, and easily make suggestions/substitutions if you are undecided. Service is fast and attentive, but not to the point where you feel like they want you to hurry so they can turn your table. Cannolli's are to die for!

We were all disappointed with our meal and the service. The Alfredo sauce was watery and tasteless. The Chicken Marsala was not good either. The service was almost not existent and it was 8:30 p.m. And only 2 other tables had guest. I felt like it was an inconvenience for us to even order and eat. I try to suppose local businesses but this place was one I would skip and eat somewhere else.

Still the small little anti-Vegas establishment it's been. Staff was friendly enough & service was decent it's just the food was fairly lackluster this time.... especially the linguine & clams (white). The other items we had were ok (not fabulous). Still recommend for something different in Vegas but hoping the flavor situation is upped a lot more the next time we chose Joe's.

This restaurant is located in a charming little house a few blocks from Fremont Street. The inside is lit with sparkling Christmas lights and Chicago memorabilia. I was quite impressed with the character of it. The food, however, was just satisfactory. We arrived before 6:30 p.m., so we were able to choose from a variety of meals priced at $15, including soup or salad. We started with garlic bread with cheese (which was not included in the deal), and that was our favorite dish of the evening. My mother had a salad, and I had the pasta fagioli, which was ok but a little too thick and filling. For mains, we had the chicken angelo, chicken marsala, and spaghetti and sausage. They were good, but not amazing. We found the pasta sauce to be a little bland. Our server was great, and the wines by the glass were also tasty. All in all, this was an affordable meal, but it didn't really wow us.

I had the pleasure of eating here this winter and I must say that it was fantastic!!!!!! It's kind of like eating at your uncle Joe's house. Great house wine and baskets of bread. The spaghetti with red sauce was excellent! The seafood pasta was absolutely out of this world! Not stuffy or pretentious but fun delicious and affordable! The best kept secret in Vegas without a doubt!!!!!

We had a reservation for a Saturday night dinner. We arrived at the same time a few other parties did, so the owner came over and took our drink order to help the wait staff. He was so enjoyable telling us about the family tradition and the restaurant. Our meals were delicious. 2 of the 4 of us wanted the linguini with clam sauce, but the owner said that when they made the sauce today he wasn't happy with it so he removed it from the menu. To make up for it he bought us a round of drinks. Our foot was amazing, and the service was outstanding. To us this restaurant is always a safe bet for a great meal and great service. :)

Had a very enjoyable dinner with my wife. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Bread is excellent along with all the food we had. You will not leave hungry. Big portions and everything cooked nicely. Attentive waiter Darrin. Will visit again. Not a lot of table so please make a reservation.

I love coming here for their spaghetti. The price is just right and the customer service is warm and welcoming everytime. I come here by myself and I also bring my girlfriend here for romantic dates. Such a cozy and elegant environment. Free and easy parking. Thank you so much!

I took my fiancée here for her birthday because she always wanted to go there and it did not disappoint! The ambiance is very cool old school feel. It’s very cozy and feels like home. The food was fantastic! You may want to make reservations if you’re going on a busy night.

Discovered this place a few years back, talk about a dining experience!!! Located near downtown Las Vegas, restaurant has remained operating out of a small home which has been it's location ever since it's opening. A lot of history displayed on the walls; one of Sammy Davis Jr.'s favorite haunts back in the day. Food is reasonably priced and excellent, I have NEVER had a bad meal here. Try their homemade dressing on your salad, I don't even care for salad, but I have it every time I come here because of the dressing. tiramisu is to die for. Seating is limited so I recommend you make reservations.

Chicago Joe's feels like it has been transported from a different era. An era where friendly service involved genuine interaction, not some Vegas style of fake over-friendliness in order to gain a larger tip. From the moment you enter this unasuming venue you are hit by the intimate atmosphere. The food lives up to this brilliant vibe and I cannot recommend it enough. There is nowhere like this in the UK. It's another hidden gem of Las Vegas.

We dined at Chicago Joe's to avoid the havoc on the Vegas strip. Yes, there are great restaurants there, but there are some hidden gems like Chicago Joe's. The food was very good and the specials of the day were wonderful, I had the crab & shrimp ravioli. It is small so definitely make a reservation, you won't be disappointed.

Really liked this restaurant. Saw Chicago Joe's on a show on the Travel Network and we were headed downtown so we gave it a try. Good move. One warning. This is a very small restaurant with no bar and no space to wait inside. Only a few tables and very popular with locals and tourists. Highly recommend making a reservation. It wasn't very crowded when we were there but if it was it may take awhile to sit at a table.. It's close to Fremont Street Experience but I wouldn't walk there at night. We were going to Fremont after we ate and decided to Uber and we were glad we did. Ordered the Spaghetti and Meatballs and the Cioppino which is a seafood stew. Both dishes came with a house salad that wasn't anything special that you get in many restaurants. The Spaghetti and Meatballs were very good. The meatballs were wonderful and the pasta was OK. Could have used a little more sauce but didn't ask for any more so I can't complain. The Cioppino was amazing. One of the best Italian dishes I've ever seen. Seafood was fresh, broth was flavorful and the seafood was plentiful. Wonderful dish. Had clams, mussels, shrimp, scallops and fish with broth and pasta. Easily a dish my wife and I could have split. Unique restaurant in Vegas that I highly recommend. Just make sure you get a reservation if you are going during prime hours.

Since another restaurant that purports to serve something close to Italian food has finally dropped the slogan listed in the Title, I'm giving it to Chicago Joe's. If you are Italian or have ever eaten with an Italian family at Grandma's or your Great Aunt's house, you'll feel right at home. You could drive right past this place if you didn't know it was there - it's a house that was converted to a restaurant. It's not very big so make sure you make reservations. It's not a fancy place so if you are looking for a fancy Italian restaurant go somewhere else, this is like a neighborhood place. You can bring your own wine with only a $15 corkage fee, which we poured into their Sicilian wine glasses. The bread is like right out of the oven and delicious but don't fill up on it because there's amazing food to follow. Get the meatball appetizer - the meatballs are like butter with a light not heavy sauce. Then the veal parm which you will struggle to finish - I have never had veal pounded so thin and so flavorful. Amazing. All of the desserts are delicious - I had the spumoni and tasted the tiramisu and lemoncello all of which I could have eaten had I had room. So if you want to eat some traditional Italian and don't want to deal with family, hit this spot you won't regret it.

This is a great little Italian Restaurant (about 20 tables). The food was delicious and moderately priced. Service was friendly but not overbearing. Bread loaf was to die for. Highly recommend snails and mushroom starter. Some reviews call this a "romantic getaway." I disagree. The tables are very close together. If the restaurant were full (or even half full) of people I think the noise level and congestion would not fit the "romantic" mood. Quaint is a better word than romantic to describe Chicago Joe's. The house was built during the Great Depression and the interior has not much changed - you can still see the outline of the old kitchen. And the tables are covered with red checkered cloths.

I went here for a celebration and a place someone in my family wanted to go. The value is amazing and so is the food. The portions are generous and the wine is fairly priced. The only thing I would say is that if you don't eat pasta it is really limited. No fish and lots of chicken but even that comes with pasta. Salads are great and so is the service. I highly recommend this place if you love pasta and great food.

Authentic Italian food at reasonable prices. This restaurant is definitely a must if staying near the strip.

This was probable someone's home at one time and has been converted into a restaurant. Anyway, this place is off the beaten path and away from the lights and crowds of the Strip. Nevertheless, it has atmosphere and good food. The service is good and the prices moderate. We visited there during the Christmas holiday season and it was decorated in a festive atmosphere with Christmas music playing. A family occupied a table near the door as we walked in. After we arrived and ordered, the place began to fill up. It has regular customers which it attracts because of the food and service.

Took the family to dinner after realizing most of us have not been to Chicago Joes for over 12 years, and as expected it was a great experience. Food was outstanding as well as ambience and service. Will be back sooner than 12 years!

Nothing flashy here, which is unusual for Las Vegas. Just good food and a really nice, cozy atmosphere. We went on a Friday night when it was very busy. Fortunately we were able to get a table (they only have about 10). The food was almost like homemade, and the service was great even though the server was a bit frazzled because they were so busy. Everyone was very friendly and the prices were reasonable. The only drawback as far as I'm concerned is the wine selection is extremely limited. I look forward to visiting again the next time I am in Las Vegas.

Forget the glitz and glam of Vegas casinos. This converted house is the real deal...an authentic Italian place with lovingly prepared food in the kitchen that is steps away from your table. It is small and cozy so be prepared for homey with vintage photos of family and "the old country" on the walls. The menu is simple, specials are offered and the wine list is adequate. Traditional southern Italian food is featured, along with seafood, veal and desserts. This place is on my list for a reasonable meal, good service and quality food served in generous portions. Try it!

This little hidden gem was very nice not too pricey. Service could’ve been way better considering when I went was only 2 other tables with people. Food was excellent

We took friends for their first time for supper to Chicago Joes. My wife and I had visited numerous times in the past and it was wonderful. Which is why we were disappointed in this visit. The host/server was indifferent, not as outgoing and friendly as others in past visits. The soup was cold on top and warm on the bottom as though it had been dished out earlier and left to sit on the counter. The restaurant had no white zinfandel, the host/server had no recommendations and seemed to be more interested in just getting each task done quickly, so he could move on. The dishes were mediocre, not as tasty as in the past. We were embarrassed as much as disappointed. We will not return.

We actually did take out. But it was easy to order over the phone. This is in a small community off the strip. A house turned restaurant, maybe ten tables. Lots of Christmas lights created the atmosphere. The food was amazing! Will definitely be returning. Large portions! Salad or soup with entrees!

We had good food at a reasonable price, the waiter was great, plenty even with the smaller size portion.

We arrived at Chicago Joe’s with high expectations for a great Italian meal, but unfortunately, it did not meet our standards. A friend had recommended the place after visiting twice, but our experience was quite different. The garlic bread with cheese was flavorful and honestly, it was the highlight of the meal. However, things quickly went downhill after that. I ordered the veal cutlet Parmesan, which arrived thinly sliced with an unusual taste that I couldn’t quite identify. I ended up sending it back. I had requested penne aribiatta as a side dish, which wasn’t on the menu, so I can’t fault them for that. It was not even close. Still, what was served as a substitute was subpar, and I had to return that as well. The lasagna, which I chose as a replacement, was good—hearty, meaty, and satisfying. The waiter provided excellent service, and I appreciated that I wasn’t charged for the veal cutlet and pasta. As a kind gesture, he also offered a complimentary dessert, which was thoughtful. However, as I was leaving, I went to use the restroom and happened to pass by the back of the house. Unfortunately, it was not clean, which left a lasting negative impression. Overall, while the service was commendable, the food and cleanliness issues were disappointing, and I hope Chicago Joe’s can address these concerns moving forward.

Chicago Joe's is 15-20 minute car ride north of mid-Strip. It is north of Stratosphere Hotel about 5 minutes. It is an intimate 12-table restaurant inside an old house. in fact, the building is so unobtrusive that you can easily miss it or mistake it for being closed. The house is divided into two open dining rooms, so if there is a large, noisy party in the front room, that can affect your dining experience. (We asked to be moved into the other room where we were able to avoid most of the loud conversation from the front room group.) Meals are hearty and relatively inexpensive ($16-22 for pasta or chicken entree that includes salad & warm bread.) Our party of 5 enjoyed delicious, homestyle Italian food and 2 glasses of wine for $140. Portion are generous and we took home lots of leftovers. Our waiter was very friendly and upbeat. Highly recommend Chicago Joe's if you are looking for inexpensive, good food in an out-of-the-way place.

This is one of the first places I came to eat over 20 years ago when I first visited Vegas and forgot how good this place is! If you come in before 6:30 they have a complete meal (bread/salad/entree) for $15.00! I chose the lasagna and it excellent! Get the creamy garlic salad dressing-just fabulous! MANGIA!!

Took a party of 7 - without a reservation - they sat us right away. (Impressive for the small restaurant!) We were enjoying a meal after my 6 year old niece's dance recital. The waiter made sure she was happy - extra bread, putting her order in early, etc. The service was great. Their prices are reasonable - VERY reasonable! The food - as always was delicious. My 10 year old ordered spaghetti with meat sauce. (An adult portion - and ate most of it - even after the calamari and cheese bread!) Linguini with white clam sauce - theirs never fails.

Chicago Joe's is a very cozy little restaurant. It's best to make reservations because they can't seat very many people. It's perfect for date night. The food is excellent and the service doesn't get any better.

We have driven by Joe's several times when in LV, so this time we made it a point to eat here. They have a lite meal menu before 5:30, despite the cheaper price and limited menu you still have good choices and plenty of food. We opted the chicken and eggplant parm and garlic bread. The meal came with a nice sized salad, the garlic bread was quite good. Our meals were prepared quite differently. The chicken and eggplant were not breaded then fried, the breading was on top, however it was quite delicious, we had a side of pasta was was give a choice of sauce as well. I come from an Italian family, I have to say I was quite impressed with the taste, quality of the food. The bill with 2 iced teas was around $45.00 without tip. A really great value for the amount and quality of the food. Next time we are in LV we will go later so I can try some of the other dishes. Highly recommend.

Cute little restaurant based out of an old home. Staff was professional, food & drink served quickly. Great early dinner specials that run until 6:30pm. Food was more than adequate, all of us loved the red sauce. Would definitely return, especially with out of town company that wanted a change from the rat-race / sensory overload experience.

One of the best Italian restaurants I’ve eaten at! Nestled in downtown Las Vegas near Fremont street, this quaint brick building nestled great Italian food. Seemed to be an old home that was converted to an Italian restaurant with beautiful ambience! The lasagna was on a whole other level! It was authentic in an oval shaped clay dish and still bubbling with hot gooey cheese, amazing marinara sauce, meat, and pasta! Go give them a try! Mama Mia!

A hidden gem in downtown Vegas. It is a little cute house converted into a cozy Italian restaurant. They are open only certain hours. And reservations are recommended on peak nights, as there are not a lot of tables. The food and service is excellent. I highly recommend for locals and tourists. Took my girlfriend here on a date. It was very romantic and she loved the food. Thank you!

This place is great. It is located in a small house with very cozy atmosphere. The food is very tasty and authentic, with reasonable prices. It's been open in Las Vegas fo 41 years, unique and a must see!

The four of us could barely eat our dinners. We should have sent everything back and walked out! My eggplant parmigiana was horrible. Tasted burned.

Tiny little Italian place but big on food. Early birds get the special for $14, soup or salad, fresh hot bread and an entrée. Lots to choose from and all tastes great!!! Make reservations to insure your table is waiting for you. I had the lasagna and was excellent. I want to go back and try the Alfredo next.

Decided to grab some italian food while in Vegas and ran across Chicago Joe's...boy are we glad we stopped. The food was EXCELLENT....fresh bread, not fried calamari, a lot of specials, and my spaghetti was fabulous. Its small and quaint, which I prefer. We will come again!

Had dinner last evening and it was great! The waiter was excellent. The light dishes were more than enough. Sauce was very good. I had the Chicken Parmesan and my colleague had the Lasagna. There was nothing left!!!

Great Italian atmosphere! I love the stuffed artichoke here! Background music is Dean Martin/Frank Sinatra genre. Service is awesome. A great off-strip experience in Vegas!

Looking for real Italian, in a spot that feels like home? This is it. Take it from a back east Italian food junkee! Hidden from the Vegas world but located in, the middle of it all, this is a local joint that will make your mouth water every time you hear the name. Just go already. Everything is awesome. Get a meatball appetizer. You can thank me later. Jus sayin...

Visited this place with a few friends as one of us craved Italian. This place has the best Eggplant Parmesan i have ever had! The pastas were also cooked to perfection. Service was good and the value is fantastic!

You will never drive by this hidden gem unless it's your destination. We stopped by this old house for a late lunch near the downtown area. The inside is small and a bit dark with red holiday lights along the wall inside. I ordered the $9 lunch special which includes spaghetti, small salad with delicious garlic sauce, and a drink. My wife ordered the eggplant dish which comes with a small spaghetti. Don't forget to order garlic bread no cheese, it was delicious. We could've shared a dish because we were very full when we left.

A Vegas old school restaurant and treasure. In an old (1930’s) house downtown. The service and food are top notch, the portions are large. We had early bird dinners, an eggplant parm and fettuccine Alfredo. Both were too much, top quality. The creamy garlic salad dressing is worth the trip. The Bread is to die for! Parking is easy in the evening.

A hidden gem between the strip and downtown. It was recommended to us while visiting Spinetti's and was well worth the trip. It's just a very nice small family style restaurant and the Lasagna was to die for.

I have been to Chicago Joe's many, many times and I have never had anything but great food and great service. It has always been a welcoming place to come to. I go there every time I am in town. LOVE IT!!!

This was the 2nd time we've been and it's now a must visit on every Vegas trip. The wait staff is always friendly, the food, just like Nona used to make it. The red sauce is delicious. The chicken and veal parmesan are both well done. It's not the fanciest plan in Las Vegas, but if youre looking for great food and a down home atmosphere this off the strip gem is a must visit.

We were looking for somewhere to eat after renewing our vows in the little white chapel. This place was recommended by locals and we weren't disappointed. One of the best meals during our trip to the States.

My grandmother wanted to take me here, and I am honestly glad we went. We went almost an hour before close and we were served very well. We wanted stuffed artichoke, but we were told they had just run out. We settled for the antipasto, and it was excellent! Everything was extremely delicious, especially the soup! Best soup Ive ever had!

Any restaurant in Vegas, this close to all the action without being anywhere near a casino, in a house this small, that's been around for decades...well you just know it has to be fantastic to survive. A fabulous find. Spectacular sauces, wonderful recipes!

We had show tickets in the arts district and looking for a place to eat. OMG, this place was amazing. The chicken parm came out and the plate was full, and it was all chicken. The pasta came out in a side bowl. I had the tortellini special and couldn't finish it. Best Italian food we've had in a very long time!

First visit to Joe's and was mildly impressed. Food was good but the restaurant is too small and crowded. Either need to take some tables out or expand.

We thought italian was appropriate after visiting mob museum. Walked to Fremont Street and then hopped an uber to the restaurant. Arrived at 9pm. Adorable, small, old fashioned Italian restaurant. One waiter. Giant dinner salad came with meals. Too much dressing , I would ask for it on side. Pastas were very simple. My lasagna OK, slightly undercooked noodles, very al dente. For simple food and cooking in an adorable restaurant it hits all the marks. Loved the waiter but after a big party came in , we were totally ignored because there were like 14 people at 9:30 and they close at 10.

We were in Vegas for a conference and the place was recommended by some locals. When you roll up, it doesn’t look like much but the food is amazing. I had veal and white bean soup, makes my mouth still water just thinking about it.

My husband and I went here for my birthday - we recently moved back to Las Vegas after 20 years - 20 years ago we loved Chicago Joe's. We arrived at our reserved time and the host acted like he had no room and stuck us at a table by the backdoor - the restaurant is small and we understand that, but there were better, same size tables thgast stayed empty the whole time we were there. It continued to go downhill - I ordered Chicken Marsala - the chicken was tough and dry and the sauce was like broth with no flavor. We also had a pasta dish that was the caliber of bottled red sauce - could do better at home! Service was average at best - kind of indifferent. Again, this used to be one of our favorites - huge let down - maybe it's had new ownership/management come in??

Chicago Joe’s was an amazing find - trust all the reviews. First, you know it is a good sign when the wine comes in a small Italian wine glass and not fancy stemware. My husband had an awesome lobster app special and lasagna which he absolutely loved and I had ravioli with an amazing mushroom sauce. It is off the beaten path (a little under a mile from Fremont St) but the meal and $ was fantastic. Make a reservation though because he was turning people away at the door. It is a small old house.

Although the service and wait staff were excellent the food was a MAJOR disappointment and I actually got food poisoning from my meal! . Other reviewers have alluded to the dirty kitchen and washing standards, in my case TRUE !

Went with old friends who are locals. Every visit we try a different Itallian restaurant. Joe's was a very nice quaint place in a neighborhood that isn't exactly a nice neighborhood, between the Stratosphere and downtown Vegas. Food was decent although there were a couple pieces of my chicken parm that were a bit chewy. Wife's meal was just ok. Only had beer and wine on the menu which is normally ok since I'm not a big drinker, but I was kind of in the mood for a cocktail or frozen something. All in all it was decent, nothing special and don't know if I would return given the fact that there are so many other itallian restaurants.

This is my 3rd trip to Chicago Joe's! It's quaint, efficient, and delicious!!! We had the Lasagna, and the Chicken Marsala! Came with salad and a loaf of bread!! We went early to do the small bite menu. Salad, bread, smaller entree for $15. It was just enough to declare "stuffed"! Service was exceptional and you MUST MUST MUST make a reservation. They only have a few tables. Everything about the place is awesome and above!

My girlfriend suggested we go to this restaurant because she lives in Vegas. Cute little restaurant reminds me of some of the Italian restaurants in Chicago. We were greeted and seated right away. We all ordered different chef specials for that evening. I think it would have been a wiser choice to order off the menu. I ordered the chicken Marsala and was very disappointed. It was very thin, overcooked and dry. A side of pasta with marinara came with my dinner. I must say the the sauce was wonderful. I wish I had ordered a pasta dish from the menu.

Walked here from Freemont St. Stepped inside and waited for assistance. Was looked at but not spoken to by two or three servers. Finally someone approached me and asked if he could help me. I told him I had 6 for dinner , to which he replied " Oh…ah…OK. You can sit ah… here ( pointing to the table at the door ) and ..uh…I'll be with you in a minute." I felt like we were intruding. Food was good but and the servers weren't rude , we just didn't feel like we were welcome. Maybe they were having a bad night.

There are not a lot of places to get a good artichoke. This is one of them. The shrimp Joe's was just the right amount of spicy. The Chicken with artichokes and mushrooms was delicious too! Generous portions didn't leave us room for dessert. Small place and not somewhere you can bring a big group, but that's good in my book. Call ahead and make a reservation, they were busy on a Tuesday night.

My niece who lives here took us to this wonderful place. Small, quaint, quiet. The staff are excellent, the food was fantastic and the price was good. My new favorite place in Las Vegas!

I usually hate it when people say "it was like having a meal at home" because I don't travel to eat at home if you know what I mean but Chicago Joe's is an amazing little place in downtown Vegas that deserves a visit. Its like sitting in someones living room. It's a small place so a reservation might be a good idea. The menu is limited to 'classics', pastas with a meat sauce. I had the linguine with said sauce and meatballs. The meatballs were so very tender but packed with flavour. The sauce was so tasty but I just couldn't finish the mountain of pasta that it came drenched in. If I could I would have licked the bowl. My sister had 3 cheese ravioli with what tasted like a slightly richer version of the sauce I had. She managed to clear her plate. The half carafe of wine and garlic bread was perfect accompaniment to a delicious, authentic "what mamma makes" Italian meal. I wish I had something like it in my hometown. Best bowl of pasta I have ever had.

Prior to a show at the Smiths Center, four us decided to go back to Chicago Joes. Walking in we recalled the small cozy restaurant. We were quickly welcomed and seated with water, drinks, and the menu specials. The warm bread and grilled shrimp appetizer special was excellent. The four of us all ordered from the ‘lite’ menu, and were served large portions of Italian specials. The small kitchen delivered meals we all thought were exceptional. The service was efficient and friendly. . . . . We will be back.

A very small restaurant so advisable to make reservations. The service and food were excellent and well presented and, there was plenty of it. The salad with the house made creamy garlic dressing was fresh and very tasty, some of the best that we've had in quite some time. Due to some of the reviews we had read, we were somewhat hesitant about going but the friends that we went with had been there multiple times and had always enjoyed their meals. We were very pleased and will return to Chicago Joe's if and when we get back to 'Vegas'.

The food was good. The only problem was the service. The service was not good. The waiter seemed like he didn't want to be there. He was not friendly at all. He also didn't check to see if we needed anything else.

I have been a patron of this restaurant for years. Great place for lunch or dinner. Food is impeccable. Be sure to make a reservation there is a chance you may not get in. YES it is that good!!! Small, quaint, great atmosphere for a power business lunch or a romantic dinner. I highly recommend you give this place a try.

The salad with the creamy garlic dressing was delicious, and the lasagna was very good. I didn't like the fettuccine alfredo and the waiter was very gracious in finding me something else I might like better. He went above and beyond!

I was very skeptical because of the location of this restaurant. I walked inside and it was a very small place with a fire going and the tables had checkerboard tablecloth. The staff which consisted of two people were all over me and seated me immediately. The fire warmed the place up. The menu was simple and the food was awesome. I'm already planning to bring my wife back here the next time we are in Vegas. I I had the fettucini alfredo with chicken and a glass of wine all under $35. This place is a real gem and you won't be disappointed with the quality food or the service. Enjoy.

Great Italian atmosphere, dishes, and hospitality. You are really just like in Mama's kitchen. Everything freshly made. Very enjoyable.

A really old time Las Vegas restuarant in a small house in downtown Las Vegas. I have been in town 18 years and never got around to going. What a mistake. The food, service and atmosphere were terrific. Lawrence took great care of us. A must place for lunch downtown. Take an Uber!!

We have been here in the past on trips to Vegas and it was solid old school Italian. Last night it was a solid one star for the food. Two stars as the waiter really tried. The place was empty for a Friday night which should have been the first clue. Any dish with chicken was a rubberized, bland and inedible mass with no flavor. The "chef" needs to go. Anyone who recommends the place needs as much help as the kitchen staff.

I'm glad we took Kurt Bush's suggestion when he was on Race Hub and took host Adam Alexander to his favorite Las Vegas restaurant. Chicago Joe's is a quaint old style Italian Restaurant that smells so good upon walking in the door. The bread, the salad, the garlic bread w/cheese and lasagna were out of this world great! The service was friendly and well timed and we enjoyed chatting about how we found the place. Most definitely will stop back when we get to Las Vegas.

Pretty good food but not a stand out. Tiny cramped interior. Good service . I will not return. So many others to choose from.
Disappointed
Service was adequate, salad was limp, pastas were still wet from blanching, ravioli special, sauce was warm and ravioli was cold. Would not recommend. Only redeeming thing was the house wine.
