Authentic Peruvian/Chinese Food

By MateoExplorador |

This is THE place to go in Miami for authentic Peruvian/Chinese food known as "chifa". The classic dishes are fantastic, just like them make them in Peru - pollo chijaukay, kamlu wantan, tallarines saltados, arroz chaufa. It's hard to find a real "chifa" in Miami, but Chifa Du Kang really nails it. The restaurant atmosphere is casual and comfortable, well-lit and clean, definitely not fancy, but going out for chifa is not supposed to be fancy. The hosts are very friendly as well. This is easily my favorite chifa place in Miami. Disfruta! (Enjoy!)

Loved the wantan!

We loved the chaufa and wantan. I Didn’t try Inka Cola in such a long time. Excellent service and ambience. The food was ready very fast and the person who attended us was friendly and nice to us.

Great experience

As an artist, I’ve been to many restaurants, but this has to be one of the best in Miami. Even though it’s out of my way from Coral Gables, it’s always worth the trip. The food is excellent—full of flavor and authenticity—and the service makes the experience even better. Our server, Jessica, was outstanding. She’s well-mannered, carries herself with professionalism, and takes the time to explain the dishes with great detail. Thanks to her, I truly felt like I was in Peru while dining here. I want to thank the owners for having someone like Jessica on their team—she makes a big difference. I’ve been coming here for a while now, and every visit is a treat. To my friends and everyone in Miami: you need to experience this place. The Chinese-Peruvian food is very tasty, unique, and unforgettable. You won’t regret it. Thank you again, JP (Miami Artist)

Best Chifa in Miami

By Vikki T |

Loved coming to Chifa Du Kang, it’s by far the best chifa in Florida. The taste reminds me of Peru and the staff are very hard working and humorous. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Miami that’s down for some delicious Peruvian Chinese Food!

I went there first stop after 20 hrs drive to Miami. Best experience. I order the Link Saltado and I have to say is the best I have ever had. Even better then ones I had in Peru. Would recommend it to anyone. If you want great Peruvian food in this place you could get the combination of Peruvian Chinese food and Peruvian food.

Real Very Good Chifa ( Chinese - Peruvian restaurant)

By bambam1955 |

Because I am living in Broward county, could not visit this restaurant to often. After long time I came back, and the lunch special are still available, my guest and me choose to share ( like usually this food "works") we order wantan frito, gallina chijaukay, and tallarin saltado con pollo / fried wontons, chijaukay hen, and sauted chicken noodles; it was just awesome to find excellent quality in the flavor, perfect point of cook, in all what we order, this is a real chinese peruavian restaurant, known as CHIFA, and that is the big difference between any regular chinese food restaurant you can find at any place around USA, is just totally different, and CHIFA DU KANG hold this quality. If yopu look for good food, this is the place, is not a fancy place, but their food yes it is, and I strongly recommend this place. Price per person was $15 tax and tip included.

Great Chifa just like being in Peru

By Carlos Jeihnson M |

The food is delicious. I used to go to their location in Lima Peru when I was a kid with my parents and siblings. I saw their commercial in canal Sur and I just had to go there. Great place to eat authentic Peruvian-Chinesse food (Chifa) in the USA. Recommended!

Finally an authentic Chifa in Miami

By Andrea L |

I was born and raised in Lima, Peru, and always enjoyed going to a chifa on the weekends with my family. After moving to Miami, I missed all of my peruvian food and favorite restaurants in Peru. I have always been looking for authentic peruvian restaurants, specially an authentic chifa. After going to more than 20 chinese restaurants, a fellow peruvian friend recommended me to visit chifa du kang. It was beyond awesome! Their food is even better than the chifas in Peru and their service was absolutely great. I highly recommend anybody looking for new cuisines to visit chifa du kang, and they just opened a second location in kendall.

Best chifa

By Mary P |

I absolutely love this location! Even though I live much closer to the Kendall restaurant, I always choose to come to the Bird Road Chifa Du Kang because the service and experience here are outstanding. Jessica is exceptional—her attention to detail, friendliness, and professionalism make every visit special. She truly goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect. The food is incredible every single time! The chicken chijaukay is my favorite—crispy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The fried rice is delicious, packed with flavor, and perfectly seasoned. And the tallarín saltado is absolutely mouthwatering, with the perfect balance of textures and taste. If you’re looking for authentic and delicious Chifa cuisine with amazing service, this is the place to go. Thank you, Jessica, for making this my go-to spot!

A piece of Peru in Miami with Chifa Du Kang

By Jose Manuel F |

The food is spectacular, the service is super, you feel at home. A piece of Peru. I was served by Karla, a Chinese girl from Honduras. She has learned Peruvian warmth

Something Different

By JerryG33143 |

I have been intrigued about this restaurant for awhile now. Looks like any other Chinese restaurant in Miami still the sign says "Peruvian Chinese" and that and a local chef having listed in his top ten places he goes for something different led me to give it a try. They have some special pairings for 2, 3, 4 or more that bring a generous amount of food but we ordered off the menu and were really please with a generous and delicious meal. Our server was friendly and helpful, guiding us through the menu. It is a place to go with your family or friends and unlike most Chinese joints in Miami it was not inexpensive. Still I enjoyed the food very much and intend to go back and introduce my friends and family to chifa.

Great new Chinese restaurant

By Imagine |

We went to the new Kendall location …..,11768 SW 88th Street….786-254-7135………. Let me just say our dinner was outstanding!!!!…..it’s family style, so, don’t over order……we had the veggie fried rice….$11.00..(delicious!!!)….veggie & tofu stir fry $14.50….(fantastic!!!) and the special Du Kang soup!$12.00…(a meal in itself)…..everything is obviously cooked to order….soooo fresh!!….15 percent tip is included, but we left extra to make it 20 percent…..service was excellent from Janet!…..only thing bad is there is no atmosphere….super bright fluorescent lights, no plants or pictures etc….and the menu is only in Spanish ( u can get an English menu on ur phone)……..give it a try, u will not b disappointed….🌸

Is it Peruvian or is it Chinese? Yes!

By Diam0nd00 |

Lovely family restaurant

By Connector53542285006 |

Excellent family owned Peruvian Chinese restaurant. Jessica’s service was excellent. The menu is family-style, so dishes are either for 2 people or 4+ people.

Nice ok food

By Victor P |

I decided to have lunch here Parking is a bit challenging being in a busy mall The corner restaurant have nothing special outside and even less inside I don’t understand why this older establishments do ever improve Tired looking confusing decorations From a TUMI , buddha, ekencos!!! And the FLAG!! Lol Looks aside the menu is extensive interesting but very variety of proteins Chicken, pork, shrimp, and tilapias Would have love ore traditional Peruvian offerings I decided for the lunch special Appetizer fried wontons ( filed with meet,) nice flavor unfortunately the oil was not hot enough so the noodles weren’t crispy but chewy The dipping sauce was nice although lacked a bit of acidity I must say I did enjoy it Follow fu a atroz chaufa ( fried ride) Very very good!! Excelente taste and perfect seasoning The KanLU WONTON was my choice over the other two 2 shrimp 3 slices of BBQ pork 4 of chicken Snap peas scallions onions and the SAME sauce An Inca kola and a chicha morada Completed my lunch The 3 dishes plus the soda $12 not bad The chicha $3.50 The total check $21 The food is ok the service is ok Not at all professional but instead very informal and casual the server has been there for ever And is a very nice helpful person just not professional Also seeing the owner always seating in the back table poorly dressed and working with papers is never a nice sight Overall I do recommend this placed for a chifa lunch I’m not sure I would spend the money for the dinner experience The Chef is a real pro!! Unfortunately some quality ingredients are not use in this Chifa!!

Going down

By Eddie1949 |

It might be that there is a new trend in the Chifa food in Miami but it is a fact that to my standards, the quality is down and the prices are up. The rice (arroz chaufa) horrible. All broken rice semi cooked and the worse sauce Kam Lu wantan ever, I was served a watery sauce with a reddish color. Really 50 + for two it’s expensive and the quality so far from it was used to be. It’s a pity I will not be returning.

We’ll Be Back!

By Howard L |

Authentic Chifa. Even the wine was from Ica Valley! IYKYK! Food really very good. Karla, our server, was an excellent and knowledgeable representative of the restaurant and the menu. Very attentive, and quick for all needs. There were six (five from Peru and all thought it was tipico de Lima) of us and everyone was pleased with the food and service. We’ll Be Back!

Best Chinese Peruvian food in the US!

By John_Mayers123 |

After traveling to places like NY, California, NJ, etc., this is the best chinese peruvian restaurant in the entire United States. They serve authentic chinese peruvian food, and their atmosphere reminds me of the local Chifa restaurants in Peru. This place is a must-visit location for anybody visiting Miami, with their cultural mixture of Chinese and Peruvian influences on their food! I am very glad to find this place, and hope them to expand and come to the West Coast.

Good for lunch specials

Good if you know what Chifa is and you like it - this is not Latin-Asian fusion.

By quistravel |

We were led here after searching "Latin-Asian Fusion" on a tool other than TripAdvisor (shame on us!). This restaurant came out in first place with 4-stars. We enjoy Peruvian food and we love Chinese food so we anticipated an experience rich with flavors from both. Our expectations were not met, but the food wasn't terrible so we're giving Chifa Du Kang 3-stars for being what we considered to be average Chinese food. The location should have been our first red flag, well actually my wife did notice I just didn't listen. It's not a bad neighborhood, it's just part of the massive urban sprawl that is Southwest Miami. This is not a place that you would expect to find a trendy restaurant. The restaurant is location in the corner of a strip mall. The decor was no different than a typical Chinese restaurant. The table mats were the same paper mats you see in every Chinese restaurant, the ones that tell you which animal you are on the Chinese calendar. My point is that there's nothing Peruvian about the decor. Our waiter wasn't Peruvian. They do have bottled Chicha Morada, which is a delicious Peruvian drink made from purple corn. We had fried wantons for an appetizer and they were decent. My daughter had chicken soup with rice noodles which was also decent. My wife and daughter had shrimp with vegetables; the shrimp were a decent size and the sauce was tasty. I asked the waiter to recommend something good and his suggestion was the deep fried chicken with oyster sauce. I decided to go with steamed chicken with mushrooms which was more expensive and categorized on the menu as a specialty plate. The chicken was soft and the presentation was decent, but the plate lacked flavor. Usually an overdose of soy sauce will fix a situation like this, but it didn't. We also had a plate of fried rice for the table and it was actually the best part of the meal. The cost of our meal was $99, so with tip we dropped $120 for lunch. Our opinion was that this was not a good value. After arriving home I called a friend in Miraflores, near Lima, Peru. I shared my experience with him and he explained to me that Chifa is a unique food culture that exists in Peru, and that he was not surprised at my dissatisfaction. I've also lived abroad and experienced various Chinese food subcultures in Latin America. In short, if you know what Chifa is and you like it this restaurant is probably going to be a 5-star experience for you. Those who are searching for a fusion of Latin and Asian flavors will be disappointed.

Good option

By S. Thomas |

My wife and I had lunch at Chifa Du Kang. Neither of us have experienced Chifa before, but the food at the location seemed rather familiar (in comparison to other common Chinese dishes). We had a fried rice, a shrimp dish - and some spring rolls. Overall, the food was good - and the service was excellent. The host was particularly attentive and friendly - which made the experience all the better. This was our first experience with Chifa - we would definitely go back again if we're in the area.

A blend of mostly Chinese food prepared Peruvian-style

By EugeC |

This restaurant features an interior decorated in a Chinese style and a menu that's mostly Chinese, with some Peruvian dishes that are prepared "Chinese style". Diners expecting 100% authentic Peruvian food should look elsewhere, although there are a few Peruvian dishes such as lomo saltado. Diners looking for more Chinese food prepared with a Peruvian twist, particularly fried rice chaufa, may enjoy this change of pace. The friendly staff speaks Spanish, English, and Cantonese Chinese, and menus are available in English.

The family got together for father's day. We were taken care of exceptionally well by Jessica. The food here is outstanding. Highly recommend.

It's ok

By mindctrl |

As another reviewer noted, this might not be the Chinese/Peruvian mix you expect if you're not familiar with Chifa - we were not. Chifa enthusiasts seem to love it. We thought it was like an average Chinese restaurant. The spring rolls are average. We won't go back, just because it's not our preferred style. Staff was limited and busy. Wait times were a tad lengthy. They apparently include the tip for everyone. We had a party of two and it was included. Staff says they do that.

Yucky

By Maritza C |

The restaurant is really dirty inside and outside. It smells really bad. Their fried rice is dry and seams to be the left over from the day before.
