Great new restaurant in Belltown!

By Shamar20 |

My husband and I had takeout tonight and were blown away by the dishes we had. The Spring Onion Chicken Soup Dumplings were very tasty. The Dan Dan Noodles were the best we have ever tasted. We also enjoyed the Szechuan Chili Oil Wontons. They were deliciously spicy! We can't wait to go back! Welcome to Belltown ChiHo Bistro!

Great Chinese food

This Chinese restaurant was very good and should be higher up the ladder than it is! Everything we had was delicious…the garlic deep fried chicken wings, chicken rice and chicken chow mein and ….. never had prawn with walnut in the UK …it’s so good! There was a steady flow of customers which is a good sign. Large portions and good value.

Soup dumplings that rival those at Din Tai Fung without the wait

We tried this resto while we visited the Seattle area. It's situated in a peaceful, attractive, low rise commercial district with many other restos nearby. It was fully booked. We ate family style with 9 of us sharing dishes, such as truffle fired rice, truffle soup pork dumplings (best!), cha siu pork, garlic flavored wontons, fried chix, and others. The friendly server told us that Chiho in Chinese means "eat drink." The owner knows that to correctly enjoy soup dumplings, they must be dipped in a special sauce of red or black vinegar in macerated julienned ginger. Well done!

Delicious

We tried this spot due to the happy hour promotions but would come back in a second! We arrived in the late afternoon on a Saturday, and by 5pm, the place was packed and taking reservations, so book ahead, since there isn't a ton of seating. We tried the soup dumplings, egg rolls, dan dan noodles, spicy wontons, and crab rangoon, and ended up ordering more of everything. The soup dumplings are slightly too big for the spoon, so Din Tai Fung still wins that battle ;-) However, everything was absolutely delicious. Service was great, and this sounds weird, but the bathrooms were really nice.

Happy Hour Bonus

This restaurant serves incredible Chinese Food. I ordered Pork Soup Dumplings, Dan Dan Noodles and Wagyu Fried Rice, all entrées were exceptional. This restaurant serves some of the best Soup Dumplings and Dan Dan Noodles I’ve ever eaten. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Sooo surprised!!

Always walked by this neighborhood restaurant but noticed their Specials board which listed a number of vegan options. Ventured inside and sat at the bar and ordered the veggie wontons in Szechuan chili oil (AWESOME) and their black pepper Mapo Tofu (SUPERB!) and I was going to take half the Mapo Togu home but I couldn’t resist eating it all. As I was leaving, I noticed another vegan option I didn’t see before : Vegan Soup Dumplings with mushrooms in a vegetable broth “no gelatine” OMG, I think I’ll eat here for the next two weeks! Great, attentive service. VERY reasonably priced for Seattle! $9 glass of wines? Speaking of wine, I had their WA state Chardonnay which was perfect, but I saw they had a German Riesling but it was a Spätelese, which is way too sweet for me. Bring me a Riesling from NoCal or WA state, please! No liquor served, only beer, wine, sake and soju and sake cocktails and a nice list of non alcoholic beverages.

The meat was mainly bone and fat

The meat was mainly bone and fat. Maybe other dishes would have been better so I’ll give it 3 stars, but I won’t be going back to find out if they are.
