Great food and service and not crazy expensive!

By AlifromBos |

We were looking for something that wasn’t going to cost $200 for dinner and stumbled upon this restaurant. What an awesome surprise. The food was great (a little bit of Mexican and a little bit of Asian, but not fusion). And one of the best margaritas I’ve had in a long time. I would most definitely go back and would highly recommend!

Pleasant surprise and outstanding food

By Bob S |

I've been to Las Vegas roughly one week each year for 14 years, and I'm not sure I've had tastier food ...the Dan dan noodles were spectacular, and the veggie fried rice was a close second. Tuna ceviche had tons of tuna (unlike many I've had elsewhere), and the menu had enough variation to keep everyone at the table happy.

Three words: Salt Air Margaritas!

By ClaritaAZ |

We usually visit China Poblano when we come to LV. I need my fix of their yummy salt air margaritas. It's a margarita with a salt foam thing floating on top. It's unique and delicious. Their food is a mix of chinese and mexican (as the name implies). We've eaten there many times and have enjoyed many dishes. Haven't found anything so far that we haven't enjoyed. We usually start with their tortilla chips with a really tasty roasted house salsa. After that, we kind of graze around the menu depending on how many people we have with us.

Incredible food that is fresh and unique. RUN to this place.

By Caroline S |

Wow. This restaurant did not disappoint and it definitely lived up to my Jose Andres expectations. The noddles are SO FRESH, they taste out of this world. I had the Road to Xi’An, which was a braised lamb noodle dish. Every single ingredient on the plate was perfectly seasoned and delicious. The dim sum was so perfect and tasty. Well done on the fresh noodles. My cocktail was so wonderfully balanced and the service was beautiful. I sat at the bar and I still felt like I was dining at a 5 star restaurant. One of the best restaurants I’ve been to, and I can’t wait to go back again.

Yummy Chinese

By Angel C |

We were a party of nine and made a reservation for lunch. Seated shortly after reservation time. The waiter was helpful answering our questions. Half of us ordered Chinese and the others ordered tacos. The Chinese by far was the favorite. Loved the fried buns, the vegetable fried rice, and the wonton soup. We ordered some spicy noodles that were good but very spicy. Drinks were good as well as we ordered spicy margaritas and salt air margarita.

A favorite in Las Vegas

By michaelkQ5525HV |

This place has consistently provided excellent meals, service, and experiences when I visit. The menu is large with many traditional and unique items to sample. The food is freshly made and always has great flavor. It's a little off the beaten path to find but worth the effort.

Delicious, fusion food

By Purrfect |

Jose Andrea's has masterfully combined Latin and Chinese flavors in small plates the 'when pigs fly' dumplings were mouthwatering great flavors. We also had Dan Dan mian which were noodles in an amazing sauce. We also had the Mongolian beef which was also delicious. Service was great and food arrived very quickly.

excellent vegetarian options

By Kiera |

i had so much trouble deciding what to order here because it all looked so good. eventually i decided on the 18 monk noodles and i cannot recommend it more, it was incredible. i need anyone reading this to understand i am a former onion hater but the way these onions were cooked had me SCARFING them down. i also loved the salt air margarita — i didn’t realize you could add pomegranate but that probably would’ve made it even better :3c

Excellent food and service

By VegasTopNotchGuy |

This place is awesome. They have top notch service and food. This visit I went solo and the friendly hostess, Sophia, sat me at the bar during their happy hour (4-6pm daily). All the food was delicious. I highly recommend the quesabirra taco and the twenty vegetable fried rice ( with chicken). You can watch all the dim sum and tortillas being scratch made by the ladies behind the bar. The food is all made to order so if you order all at once it arrives as it becomes ready. If you go as a couple or group the menu is perfect for sharing. Matt the bartender did an excellent job and was friendly and professional. He knew the food and drink menu very well and was happy to assist with any questions and recommendations. Because of the food and service, I will definitely be returning soon.

Good surprise

By DL1792 |

Lovely welcome, beautiful decor and high quality service. Nice menu selection at a reasonable price considering we are on the “Strip”. We recommend it without hesitation.

Try this!

By Tamrahrah |

What a fun surprise - Chinese and Mexican food - we sat at the bar without a reservation and ordered the fundito, a taco each, and shared dim sum. So delicious - could have had my own dim sum but lots of food. Then finished with the mango sticky rice - light, fresh, super delicious. Lots of food options in this area and lots of options on this menu. Didn’t even get to try the noodles but they looked amazing from across the tables. Also the drinks - we stuck with water but lots to choose from especially if you like tequila. Highly recommend this spot - don’t let the menu intimidate you - the servers were great to suggest and explain.

Fun interesting combination of Chinese and Mexican

By FlaHockeyFan |

We stumbled into this restaurant without reservations in the middle of the day and enjoyed a really terrific meal. The quesa fundido with chorizo was one of the best things I’ve ever had..with it, we also had a Chinese noodle dish with really great cocktails. This was a really good visit. I highly recommend

Las Vegas Mexican food

By Moondoggie6269 |

Great fresh Mexican food, fresh tortillas nice and hot habanero salsa. Chilaquiles appetizer is awesome. Fish tacos and carnitas tacos are phenomenal. Cool atmosphere, watch the tortillas being made at the bar. Chinese noodles available also.

Great food

Very authentic food, tasty, fresh, and served in a small intimate venue. Prices very reasonable. Portions are generous so plan on sharing

wow what a good surprise

By Lukealbert |

Went to this place for lunch, not sure what to expect, but wow the dim sums were great, excellent taste, quick and friendly service, highly recommend for a quick / casual lunch.

Excellent food and service

By tmoore48 |

I adore Jose Andres and his food, so I arrived with high expectations. I was not disappointed, as everything was absolutely delicious, and service was also good. Be warned that food comes out as it’s ready, so you could get your meal ahead of your appetizer, as happened yo the table next to us.

Very good to excellent Chinese and good Mexican food

By Peter K |

We had dinner here on 4/13/21. The menu is eclectic with several kitchens preparing your order. We tried a mixture of mexican and Chinese. We thought the Chinese food was very good to excellent (Fried wontons excellent and the Chow Fun was very good, The Mexican food was good (chips good, salsa a bit bland, Camarones de Ajo Negro (shrimp, chiles and black garlic) good and the fish taco was OK. It was a fun place to eat and we'd go back. The desserts were great. The mango sticky rice (very good) is actually whipped cream, mangos and rice crispies, worth a try. I'd recommend making a reservation for dinner.

If you aren’t sure what you want-get Chinese and Mexican in the same place

By Bacinac |

I had a taco and hot and sour soup. The taco is about 3 bites worth of pulled pork but it was tasty. At $7 seemed expensive but it was pretty filling. The soup was good. Not too spicy. Quite a bit of soup for $11. It’s the Cosmo hotel so prices are not cheap. This restaurant offers a tasty combo of options. Great for a group of people who don’t know what they want.

Delicious!

What a unique menu, mixing Mexican and Asian cuisines. The decor is super cool and the service was excellent. We had a wonderful lunch here, even the kids were happy. Extensive drink menu as well. I definitely suggest a stop here when you're in Vegas!

Big Disappointment - Particularly The Service

By DDM137 |

Visited June 7 2021 7:00 pm. We expected to be wowed by this restaurant and instead left totally disappointed. First, the service. A major part of the problem. The server was aloof, made infrequent visits, neglected to bring drink orders, never discussed the menu with us or what to expect from our dine in experience, only visited our table once after food was delivered which, by the way, was never delivered by the server herself. The server came to ask if we needed any further food or drink and we hadn't even been served one of the dishes for someone in our party. Her main focus seemed to be to turn over the table. We slashed her tip, not something I frequently like to do but justified in this case. The Food: The second major disappointment. We ordered A First Bite, Dim Sum, Tacos, and One larger plate. The food is delivered in no order so expect that situation. This seems to be their normal business model. The First Bite was Chilaquiles, a nacho dish. It was tasty but the chips were very soggy due to the broth in the bottom of the bowl. The cheese was tasty but saturated the dish. The issue with this dish was the texture. Dim Sum: When Pigs Fly. It needed more filling and lacked spice, seasoning and flavor. Overall is was ok. Tacos: the Pescado Taco (fish taco) had a nice crunch on the fish but lacked salt and seasoning. It was also dry and could have used another lime on the plate for moisture. Again, it was ok. The Carnitas Taco was the favorite main dish at the table. It too could use more seasoning and particularly spice but it was tasty. Chow Fun With Beef: Voted most dislikedl bite on the table. The meat was distasteful and of an unpleasant odor and texture. The other ingredients in the bowl lacked any flavor at all. One person stated that the Thai restaurant near their home had a much tastier stir fry bowl than presented at this restaurant. Dessert: The Churros were delicious and an overall favorite. For the price of this meal and its celebrity, expectations were much higher. The meal was a complete disappointment. None of us will be returning.

Great food

By Cmdiaz17 |

Amazing food! Great ambiance. Sat at the bar and had a great experience. Went during prime dinner time 8-9. Didn’t have a reservation. There was a minimal wait. The tacos were incredible. We had the chicken & carnitas tacos. Definitely recommend. Would like to go back and try the dim sum side of the menu.

Loved China Pablano!

By Denise H |

My husband and I sat at the bar and watched the ladies make the dumplings by hand which was fascinating. I ordered the Mongolian beef lettuce which was excellent. The Mongolian beef was served over a bed of lettuce with a side of white rice, so good! My husband had the carnitas and chicken tacos which he said were good. The service was wonderful with our server being attentive but not overbearing. The atmosphere was very nice in the restaurant. I especially liked how the restaurant was a mix of Chinese and Mexican/Spanish cuisine, a very innovative concept.

OVER-PRICED, OVER-HYPED, MEDIOCRE CUISINE - NOT WORTH THE VISIT

By Mike C |

China Poblano is one of three Jose Andres restaurants located within the Cosmopolitan hotel. As fans of his television programs and having read very positive reviews of his other restaurants, we decided to give the China Poblano a try for a late lunch. It turned out to be a costly mistake. I wish I had taken the time to read the many (many!) 1-star reviews. Read on. On their website, China Poblano describes itself as "TWO CULTURES. TWO CUISINES. ONE INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE. An innovative concept from Chef José Andrés, China Poblano at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas combines the flavors of Mexico and China to create a breakthrough restaurant experience that encompasses both authentic dishes and inspired new favorites." The description begs the question: why on earth would you combine two completely different ethnic cuisines under the same roof? Diners would be better served if they had stuck to one and attempted to excel at that rather than try to mix the two so unsuccessfully. Our experience turned out to be neither "incredible" nor "innovative" - adjectives obviously employed by some high-paid publicist who thought the description would lure in those wishing to add a Jose Andres venue to their culinary resume. When we arrived, the place was crowded and noisy - too noisy to carry on a decent conversation. Our server was Jorge, who was busy but very friendly and provided us with some background regarding the menu. I ordered one of my Mexican restaurant standards - the Carne Asada - described on the menu as "6oz Black Angus skirt steak, mole poblano, charred green onions, sesame seeds, heirloom corn tortillas" ($40). "Heirloom"?? Who was it inherited from? Probably thrown into the description by the same publicist who thought to call this place "incredible" and "innovative." My companion ordered the "Rich and Noble Congee" ($15.88) described on the menu as "Rice porridge slow cooked with dried shrimp and scallop, with Chinese sausage, onion oil, green onions and black garlic." For the price the portion wasn't as ridiculous as my carne asada (see attached photo) but he was unimpressed and described the taste as "so-so." When my dish arrived it turned out to be a 7 inch strip of beef saturated in mole sauce and topped with one large onion and a piece of parsley. Trying to find the steak under the sauce was like playing "Where's Waldo." On the side was a half dozen tortillas in their own dish. There was no rice. There were no beans. For $40 I got a sorry looking little piece of steak which was meant to be a meal (please refer to attached photo). The steak was not terrible, but certainly nothing to write home about. It could have been hotter. It could have been less chewy. Especially for the price and Andres's reputation, it was not unreasonable to expect more. All said, I found China Poblano to be crowded, noisy, over-hyped and over-priced. I was left to wonder if Jose Andres had ever even been here or just merely licensed his name. I'd like to think he has no idea they are presenting this sort of cuisine under his name.We had a far more positive experience at Jose Andres's other restaurant in the Cosmopolitan, "Jaleo." Your hard-earned money is much better spent there.

Once was enough!

By notme2017 |

The food is decent but very overpriced because the restaurant is in a casino. We did not try any Mexican food, but the Chinese food was very decent. Not the best, but better than other casino Chinese restaurants.

Always a Must

By Lindsay M |

This is always one of our favorite places to eat. The food is fantastic. The service is wonderful. We were there for lunch this time and had the queso fundido and we each picked a couple tacos. I am vegetarian and have so many options here.

Good quality and creative food

By missyoulikegravy83 |

My friend and I visited China Poblano in August 2023. We had several dishes including : salsa and chips ; traditional shu mai; 20 vegetables fried rice with chicken; octopus taco; taco al pastor and ma po tofu with Oxtail. We originally wanted the guacamole but there was an issue with the avocados that night. Service was good and straightforward. Ma po tofu was good but very spicy The stand out item here is the octopus Tacos. I would have ordered 10 of them. A nice evening overall.

If you go to one restaurant in the Cosmo, come here!

By Von1287 |

We ate our way through the hotel in the days we were here. This was our favorite spot. I was weirded out that we could get dumplings and tacos but it was good. Sitting at the bar ensures quick service but also allows you to watch some of the food being prepared since they do some of it right there. The birria tacos with lamb and blue corn shells were the best I have ever tasted! The meat was tremendous and silky and the flavors were such a burst! Best item I ate in the whole hotel!

Best food on the strip!

By Tessa Irish |

GO here. Order aqua fresca; you’ll want a go cup it’s that good. Order anything to eat - it is the best food I’ve had out of dozens of restaurants on the Strip.

Try the salt foam margarita ❤️

From beginning to end this place does not disappoint! The crazy combination of Chinese and Mexican is a wonderful treat.

An Amazing combination of Asian & Mexican cuisines

By William P |

China Poblano in the Cosmopolitan hotels offers an exception dining experience. The combination of Asian and Mexican cuisines is surprising satisfying. Highly recommended.

Good Food But Not Much of It

By annikalibby |

I liked this restaurant overall, and because we already plan to come back to the Cosmo we will likely be back. But, and this is a big "But" this is definitely not a restaurant where you get "value" for money or a feeling of being full unless you are really ordering a ton. Most dishes are about $15 for four bites of food. The tacos are $7-8 each, and are less than three bites. Which brings up the question as to why a "small plates, designed for sharing" restaurant serves a single taco in an order. How exactly do you share that? Several members of our party ate them in two bites. We spent over a hundred dollars for two people (with two drinks total) and were not really satisfied, but didn't want to spend any more money. That being said, the flavors were good, foods marked as "spicy" actually were (!), and the tacos had great, intricate ingredients. The hype and novelty of the combination of chinese and Mexican were worth the draw. About a hundred feet away you can get a footlong grilled sandwhich in a gourmet setting for $14, and while you're sitting there eating your $14 four bite "small plate" it's a hard comparison to make.

The Best Quesabirria Ever

By Debra E |

My BFF and I wanted a fun place to have lunch while we were in Vegas and this place hit all the marks. We had yummy margaritas with our quesafundido. This is served topped with chorizo and a side of tortilla chips. We then saw the quesabirria being cooked on the open grill and had to order those as well. The BEST taco we have ever had. Oh my, that consome made with beef and lamb was to die for! Our waiter was awesome and the service was quick but not rushed. We sat at the counter so we could watch the staff making fresh tortillas. Highly recommend and can't wait to go again.

Odd Service

By jafox |

Vegan dumplings excellent. Atmosphere more day time IMO. Service was a bit strange, and again, I never received the taco I ordered. Instead, was given the wrong food. This place made it right by paying for a drink. Good move and I would return. Food was good.

Skip Happy Hour…rude & uncomfortable

By Alicia H |

Friend & I made reservations for happy hour as we have done many times. We’re told if we order off La hours Feliz menu, we had to sit at bar? This has never been the case. Said we planned to order off both menus. The restaurant had plenty of tables, so I explained I had an injury (& a cane) that made sitting on a bar stool painful & difficult. Rude hostess was very dismissive & just said new policy. Because it was too late to cancel we ordered (off both menus) at the bar. After ordering, we were practically ignored by staff. Because seat was too painful, we asked for 2nd corse to go & the check. It took 15min while our food sat 3’ away & staff just talked to each other:( Nothing on the website states you must sit at bar. While the food is still good, shame on China Pablamo for being so insensitive to handicapped!

A fusion menu but not fusion dishes, with inauthentic Chinese flavors

By HimeNoHogosha |

Read about many reviews saying this was a "must visit" restaurant in the Cosmopolitan, so we made dinner plans here. I enjoy Chinese food and Mexican food both, so this combination was very interesting to me. However, one of the first things the server told us was that this wasn't "fusion", but just Chinese dishes and Mexican dishes served alongside each other on the menu. Upon closer inspection, that is how the menu was arranged. We ordered a few Chinese staples and an appetizer of sopes. The sopes were good, and paired well with the Oaxacan Old Fashioned and Flaca Margarita we ordered for drinks. The Chinese dishes didn't quite land for us. The flavors and texture were not up to the quality that we've enjoyed at traditional chinese dishes. The pork buns were lacking flavor, and the buns were too fluffy. The beef noodle soup was lacking body and flavor in the broth. The quail egg siu mai was probably the best, but wasn't as great as we had imagined when we were ordering. Overall, I can see that if these aren't dishes you order frequently from other authentic Chinese places, then they'll probably be interesting and tasty. However, if you've built up a lifetime of experience eating similar things, then you will probably be a bit disappointed with the Chinese items.

Delicious food, great service!

By Kaybeek |

Envueltos de mole were so good we wanted to lick the dish! Tortillas direct from heaven — better ingredients do make a better product and the pollo a la parilla tacos were so scrumptious I wish I could’ve eaten more of them. Cucumber salad, again, very good, light, refreshing. Of course you’ve gotta try that 30 vegetable fried rice and try to name all 20, perfectly seasoned, delicious. The only misstep was the when pigs fly dim sum. The filling inside the too doughy dumpling was cold, but tasty. Excellent service and they brought me the most luscious mango sticky rice, sort of an ice cream dessert with loads of mango topped with caramelized rise crispies for my birthday, completely complimentary. Don’t pass on this dessert — but don’t try to eat it alone,

Food without Soul

By Barry M |

Still scratching my head about this one. Loved the concept and nothing bad happened on our visit, but the food and service just lacked soul. Our server was ready to take our order 2 seconds after we sat down, and the food started showing up 5 minutes after we ordered. Really felt like they were rushing us to get out of there so they could flip the table to the next customer (or order drinks and more food). We picked this place because it was "mid-range" for Vegas, but it felt more like we were at a fast food joint.

Interesting take on Asian fusion… with Mexican

By Just Outside the Hood |

Interesting concept, well executed and it works Gawking at the menu from the outside, we were definitely able to find several items that interested us and of course were curious as to how the menu items would work together. The decor was colorful and just as intermingled—Asia meets Latin America For starters our waiter was lively an extremely helpful, polite and accommodating. He also performed our at-table guacamole assembly — although he wanted to make it “hotter “, he was respectful of our tender taste buds. As a guac goes it was good For our mains, I went Asian with Dim Sum dumplings with mixed pork and shrimp with spices all accompanied by tangy soy based dipping sauce. Unique and delicious. My daughter chose several of the corn tortilla taco options— also extremely tasty albeit a tad more spicy than she’s used to. Lovely place to lunch, not a bank- breaker by Las Vegas standards

It was just ok

By nikki b |

I really wanted to like this place. My daughter and I are huge fans of Jose Andres so I thought this would be a good place to go with two kids for a meal in Vegas. The food was ok. Nothing exciting or different. My husband’s fried rice came out cold. We didn’t complain or say anything because the service felt awkward. Our server initially greeted us with, “Hi, so what do you want to eat?”. Which just set the mood for a very awkward experience as it almost felt like he was avoiding us. When I went to the restroom I could see other staff engaging with guests, so maybe we just got a dud but we just left feeling a bit disappointed.

Not great

By Rebecca L |

The food was late and cold, they took our unfinished drinks apparently to move us out, would not recommend oe go back.

Would Not Go Back

By sharking |

We did not make reservations, but they could get us in. Due to COVID, menu is 20% of what it used to be. We couldn’t order guacamole because they were out of avocados, couldn’t order two others items because they were also out. We had chips and salsa and a drink and left.

Long but deserved

By itwasworthit v |

China Poblano at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas offers one of the most exceptional dining experiences on the Strip. Specializing in both Chinese and Mexican cuisines, the restaurant is not a fusion of the two, but rather a celebration of each culinary tradition in its own right. With separate kitchens dedicated to preserving the authenticity of both Chinese and Mexican dishes, the food here is nothing short of extraordinary. The atmosphere is lively, making it a perfect spot not just to eat, but to drink and thoroughly enjoy yourself. The staff contributes significantly to this experience. Beatriz one of the managers sets the gold standard for hospitality—attentive, friendly, and genuinely invested in the satisfaction of each guest. Our server Erick, despite being relatively new, displayed an impressive command of the menu, guiding us through our choices with a contagious smile and an attitude that made our dining experience even more enjoyable. He ensured that our glasses were never empty, showing a level of service that is both rare and commendable. The culinary talents of the head chef, Carlos, and the sous chef, Martin, deserve particular praise. Martin, who personally prepared some of our dishes, brought a touch of artistry to the table, with each plate reflecting a deep understanding and respect for the flavors of Mexico and China. Both chefs took the time to visit our table, ensuring that we were delighted with our meals—a personal touch that added to the overall experience. One of the most surprising aspects of China Poblana is the pricing. Despite the high quality of the food and the caliber of service, the prices are remarkably reasonable, especially when compared to other restaurants of similar standing in Las Vegas. This value for money, combined with the outstanding culinary and service experience, makes China Poblao a must-visit destination for anyone coming to Las Vegas. It’s a place that not only meets expectations but exceeds them, leaving a lasting impression that warrants a return visit.

Excellent meal and service

By ilovelivin |

Great variety of offerings at this restaurant. We had the tuna ceviche, some dumplings, the lamb and beef tacos and beef fried rice. All were excellent. The service was prompt and attentive. We did not feel rushed and thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

Delicious

By Chryssimae |

This little spot is a crowded place but it has fantastic food and drinks. There is a pick up window if you want to get food or drinks to go but just a short wait for our reservation and we were seated at a bar. The salt air margaritas were amazing and the 20 vegetable rice is a must. We had a steamed bun with bbq pork inside if I recall correctly but I don’t see them on their online menu. Service was quick for how crowded it was but we thoroughly enjoyed people watching, food and drinks. We will be back in a couple of weeks!

Wonderful journey of these two types of cuisine

Perfection

By 4Uyes |

Great food, excellent cocktails and top notch service. We ordered: tuna ceviche, queso fundido w chorizo, when pigs fly and finally carnitas tacos and each of us had a couple Salty Air Margaritas. The flavors were perfect!!

Very unique Mexican/Chinese fusion. Would recommend.

By Breaded Goose |

My wife and I were intrigued by the China Poblano menu so were excited to give this a try. The restaurant is located in Cosmopolitan in the upstairs restaurant area. We didn't book a table but the restaurant texted us when the table was ready, only had to wait about 10 minutes or so. The interesting thing about the menu is that it's Chinese/Mexican fusion so very unique. Overall the food was nice. Highlights for us included the Chicken Tacos, the Rou Jia Mo (a Chinese street sandwich with pork belly - this was the highlight for me!), The Golden Pigs were a very unique mix of sweet and savoury (basically fried doughnuts with a pork and sauce filling, with condensed milk to dip them in). I was less keen on the Chicken Quesadilla, thought it was a bit dry. I also didn't think much of the Kao Lao Lao oat noodles, they lacked a bit of flavour. My wife had the 20 Vegetable Fried Rice and it was very good. The atmosphere in the restaurant was nice and the had no complaints about the service. It was prompt and friendly. My only reason for knocking a star off is because a couple of the dishes were underwhelming. But generally a positive experience and would happily go back.

Don't bother if you need to be somewhere

By Brutally honest |

Food was nice but service was terrible. Dishes came out at completely different times and we weren't warned about this. Everything took forever including canned drinks just to arrive to the table. Didn't actually end up getting all of our meal because it took so long it ate into our show time.

Great with dietary restrictions!

By A.J. |

Hostess and Server were great with dietary restrictions and showing recommendations without asking. They seemed to genuinely want to help us find something on the menu that fit our needs.

So glad they are open again!

By Kenneth Pages |

China Poblano is one of my favorite places in Vegas. I love the concept and I love the food and drinks. When we were there in January it was not reopened yet. Luckily it was when we returned in April. As the name suggests this is amix of chinese and mexican. A cool riff on this is the taekout order window on the left Chinese and on the right Mexican. As with other venues in Vegas reservations are required and in the case of China Poblano actually needed due to popularity. On balance I would say the Mexican side is my favorite but leave rrom for some delicious dim sum.

Don't bother

By keithflow |

While this restaurant sounds interesting, it wasn't. The fried buns were more dough than meat and it was served with condensed milk. The "Caesar salad" while a great concept and tasty was ridiculously overpriced at 18.00 for 5 lettuce leaves. The noodle dish "Ants Climbing a Tree" was absolutely horrible. The noodles were so chewy, you couldn't even pull them apart. The chicken was nonexistent and the sauce tasted like peanut butter. Two bites and sent it back. I would not recommend!

Best meals I had at the Cosmo

By Jason S |

Worth waiting in line for. One thing to remember and will be told is that this is NOT a fusion restaurant meaning no noodles in a taco or other weird fusions. For cocktails, the "So Match Love" was one of the best drinks I had. For food, I found the Dim sum to be the best and heavily recommend the "When Pigs Fly" and "Road to Xi'an". Also if you have room for dessert, the Tres Leches cake was very very good. I ate here multiple times without regret. What is also really nice is that you can get food to go and enjoy it around the hotel or back in your room if you don't have enough time to sit down or don't want to wait.

Very disappointing

By mmcreel |

Service was very fast and friendly. The servers were very attentive and informative. The food, however, was just ok with some dishes just being downright bad. My husband got the tasting menu and it was just that…a little taste. I had the frijoles taco which was pretty good. I then had the sopes which weren’t very good. I then had the friend pork buns with condensed milk. I barely made it through one. It was not good. I was honest with the server and said I didn’t care for it and he was kind and did not charge us for them. I then chose to order the fried wontons and was not thrilled with them either. Just an all around disappointing dinner.

The best food experience ever!

By Kyoko T |

The best food experience ever! We were blown away by the food quality, super yummy margaritas and the spectacular service. The salt foam margaritas is an absolute must… you’ll want a second one for sure it’s so yummy. Tina was so friendly, knowledgeable and just super awesome. Our first time at the restaurant so she gave us the best recommendations… traditional Siu Mai, Quesabirria, and Tuna ceviche. Tina made our dining experience so special that we decided to go back the next day where Eddie also took amazing care of us… just as amazing as Tina. Eddie also gave us great menu suggestions as he knew we dined there the day before so he gave us great recommendations on different items to try. The Siu Mai with quail egg, Road to Xi’an noodles, Golden Pearls, and Camarones Al Mojo. We were so amazed by how special and flavorful each dish was prepared… it looked amazing but tasted even better than imagined. Eddie also recommended we have the margarita with Mezcal and it was superb. Tina recognized us for coming back and treated us to a heavenly dessert with mango and fluffy cloud like cream…. Yum! The GM Eduardo took the time to stop by to chat with us and made us feel even more special. It is such a treat to have the dining experience with great food and staff that truly appreciates and loves food as Tina and Eddie. We will definitely come back and probably order the exact same thing since it was so AMAZING!

Delicious and reasonably priced

Delicious Mexican or Asian food! Love the bbq steamed buns; sumai and beef noodle bowls. Table side guacamole is also tasty. It’s reasonably price and has great service. Make a reservation as it’s busy all the time. Eaten here about 4 times now and all good was very tasty!

Delicious and Fresh

By Dalia |

The food was amazing. If they still offer the Mango Sticky Rice TRY IT. IT IS BEYOND AMAZING. So light and airy, not very sweet and tons of textures. Just perfect. We were also blown away by the carnitas tacos. They were delicious and the tortillas are made fresh in the front. The Air Salt Margarita was very interesting. I loved it! I love salt on my margaritas so this was a great way to get it in every sip.

Loud and excellent!

By Nina S |

If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing meal, this is not the place. However, the food and service are both excellent. We had lunch and dinner here on our last trip. It was great having an allergy-friendly menu that included several vegan options. We both loved the tacos and margaritas.

Hits and misses

By bluetigers |

The innovative concept is not that innovative; it’s not fusion cuisine but they serve both Chinese and Mexican food. Service was fast. Some excellent dishes, some not worth the price. Must try the salt margarita.

interesting concept

By joel p |

An interesting melding of cuisines! We shared a Spanish dish and a Mexican taco. The blending of styles was very interesting in a good way. Both traditions revolve around carbs, corn in Mexico and rice in Spain. They go together well.

Still The Best

By texasaggie04 |

Mh wife and I have been coming here since China Poblano opened. The menu has changed slightly over the year, but overal everything remains phenomenal! We live in Texas and are used to good Mexican food. This place is legit. We really Love Asian food however. China Poblano is probably our most favorite restaurant anywhere. Period. We ate here multiple times over the last 3 days during our recent stay at the Cosmo. All dishes were great, but the Churros with Abuelita frothy hot hot chocolate was mind blowing! Huge thanks to Ignacio at the bar for making our meals here extra special and memorable. He is easily the best server we have ever had at a restaurant! China Poblano...can't wait to be there again!

Good food good vibe but snobby chef

By DecoWorldTraveler |

Great food and awesome margarita! The place is very authentic and everyone is super attentive and efficient except the one chef who was a snub and didn’t like people who came for happy hour. By the way if you dont mention happy hour they will not give you the menu

Great choice

By frauduck |

Tried the Tacos and Noodles feast. It was the bomb with unique flavors and plenty of food. Tip: The noodles are much spicier than the tacos.

Stimulating Tasting Menu

By Mark Ortega |

We have walked by this restaurant many times. I have seen so much information on Jose Andres, and I deeply admire his work with the WCK, World Central Kitchen. His recent Travel TV series with his daughters in Spain was very inspiring. We are from Santa Fe, New Mexico. We witness lots of food fusion. The difference is that Jose Andres is such a technician of food on a different level. We did the Tasting Menu to introduce us to China Poblano. Many items on the menu look familar. And yet, it isn't always the full original twist that he may have, it is his perfection is creating a dish that is so flavorful and intriguing in textures and flavors. There were no complaints to be had. We found oursevles multiple times saying, "That is the best Caeser Salad, Skinny Margarits, Carnitas Taco... that I have Ever had!" There have been so many of them eaten, but this felt like the most thoughtful production of these items. The tasting menu flowed so that each flavor and texture led well from one to the next without fatigue. It didn't feel like any variations on the same theme. We were so very fortunate to have Teresa as our waitress for our meal. She was there to give guidance and extra information. Her knowledge and attentiveness was well noted at a time Post Covid when service has seen such a change. She was well accompained by Luis from Cuba. Her pride in the restaurant makes her an excellent ambassador for this particular restaurant. It has been a while that we were so completely enchanted during service while enjoying the thought provoking food by Jose Andres. It made for a memorable birthday for my friend. We told the manager how much we enjoyed everything! We shared our impressions of the Tasting Menu with a diner looking around for advice from nearby diners. We left before she finished, and she agreed that she found herself saying to herself that some of these items might be best versions that she had ever tasted. Congratulations Jose Andres on your fine work, and your staff decisions as well!

Great concept

By Durwood N |

We had several items that all provided a great taste experience. The salsa, quest fundido, “ants climbing up a tree”, soup dumplings, shrimp, fried dumplings were all excellent. Everything we tried was up to par. I highly recommend.

Jose Andres restaurant

By audreylebowitz |

We were two couples enjoying our first dinner for the week at China Poblano located on the 2nd floor in the Boulevard Tower of the Cosmopolitan Hotel. This is an Jose Andres restaurant mixing Chinese and Mexican influence. The venue is unique in decor. We loved it. Our server did a wonderful job. There are fabulous margaritas available. Try the Salt Air - it was extraordinary. The dishes we chose were all excellent. The signature noodles are the Dan Dan Mian. Great flavor I had a chicken taco and my husband had the fried chicken wings and the lomein. The chips and sauce were made fresh and were hot out of the pan. Dessert was a very special treat. You must try the tres leche cake. Huge portion for 4 to eat. We also had the dark chocolate and mousse dessert. Just couldn’t resist. Very nice dinner

Always a favorite when staying at the Cosmo

I came back to the Cosmo for a quick getaway with a friend and could not miss stopping in to CP to get some amazing food. Dont miss out on the Salted Foam Margs, they are amazing.

Horrible chewy noodles and invisible chicken

By Mirabelle |

We dropped by China Poblano on the way back to our room, to pick up some take-away dinner. We ordered the "Ants Climbing a Tree" for about $17.00. The dish is described as "Spicy wok-tossed glass noodles with bok choy, chicken, fresh pea shoots and toasted sesame seeds". We waited about 30 minutes for this simple dish to be prepared. Perhaps it was sitting on the pass for 25 of those minutes as it was cold by the time we'd reached our room (2 minutes away). The dish was a small pile of glass noodles tossed in a non-spicy soy sauce, and contained less than a teaspoon of tiny pieces of minced up chicken. The noodles were so tough, my partner couldn't even chew them. There were 5 x baby bok choi leaves, and a small smattering of shoots (I presume pea shoots) and some sesame seeds. Overall, this dish was an overpriced, rubbery, cold and inedible, non-chicken disappointment.

Outstanding Food and Service

By clyoung97 |

Five of us ate here tonight and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was outstanding. Chicken Dim Sum, 20 Vegetable Fried Rice with Shrimp, and so much more. For dessert we had the a Dark Chocolate Warrior filled with milk chocolate mousse served on top of Ginger Ice Cream and flambé banana was not only fun but tasty. Julio our server was excellent as well. The restaurant is located in the Cosmopolitan Hotel and I highly recommend it.

Great food, great people - a gem in Vegas

By Bruce C |

Let's face it, while people like to say Vegas has good food, it really doesn't and most of it is overpriced. China Poblano is different. The food is amazing, and fresh, and it's incredibly reasonably priced. Whenever we have to be in Vegas, it's the one place we make sure we go to - several times. Drinks are also really good, and the people are amazing - every time. But the food really is incredible.

Mediocre Lunch

By Grufnik |

Stopped by on a recommendation from friends, and on the reputation of Chef José Andres, and was somewhat disappointed. I expected more fusion cuisine, but the restaurant is built more as two menus that you can choose from, one Mexican, and the other Chinese. There is not a lot of heavy blending of the two cuisines. I ordered the Quesabirria tacos, which are listed as three heirloom blue corn tortillas stuffed with lamb, beef, mennonite and Oaxaca cheeses, onions, cilantro, and served with a consommé. What I got was three very greasy tacos on regular flour tortillas, and a quarter bowl of a spicy soup that was not a consommé, which by definition should be a clear soup. When I asked about the tortillas, the server told me that the dough for the tortillas was not yet defrosted. Yet, not a few minutes later, when the open kitchen that I was sitting in front of finished using the batch of white flour dough to make tortillas, out came a big bowl of blue corn tortilla dough. The tacos themselves were loaded mostly with cheese, and then sort of edged with meat. Overall, just a greasy mess that was not something that I really cared for. I finished two of them and was not particularly inspired to finish the the last one. The “consommé” was tasty. I do not know why you would serve so little soup in such a big bowl, to the point that it wasn’t especially easy to spoon it up. As I mentioned, a consommé should be a clarified and clear soup, but this still had vegetables in it, and was clearly (pardon the pun) not a clear soup. A minor quibble perhaps, but there is no reason to call this a consommé.

Not worth a worth visit at all! Jose Andres should feel guilty!

By Eddie's Insider Travel Reviews |

Swallow A Cloud their Wonton Soup was tasteless with zero flavor. The Chicken Ji Song were tiny and barely a mouthful each.

Amazing Food

By Joshua B |

This is place is a must for my wife and I every time we visit. The food is amazing and will not disappoint.

Abhorrent

By Sarah |

We had reservations for lunch and finally were seated quite late. We sat down and ordered chips and salsa while we waited for our main order.after about 15 minutes we asked the waitress where our chips were...oh I forgot you had ordered them. They eventually arrrived with our fried dumplings which were almost inedible. Did not at all taste the shrimp they were supposedly stuffed with. My shrimp Diablo also arrrived but my husband wonton soup was no where to be found. After waiting about 10 minutes we asked the server where he soup was... she flippantly answered it comes out when it is ready. Ironically the table next to us was having the same experience. After another 10 minutes snd still no soup we decided enough is enough. And to top it off the shrimp Diablo tasted like shrimp in spaghetti...oo sauce. Truly wondering who is reviewing these restaurants...

Best bean tacos!

By Lindsay M |

We really enjoyed the food here. Ate here twice during our stay at the Cosmo. Fantastic full flavors in the bean tacos. Very good salsa. I did the 20 vegetable stir fry and it was very satisfying. Looking forward to coming back.

Just okay

By KatieTags |

My husband and I had been here years ago and we loved it so we returned, but we were disappointed this time. Our server was not very attentive, my cocktail was not very good, and we felt like the menu was very small and limited. Normally we order and eat a lot but there weren’t even that many things on the menu we wanted. My husband was also upset when the waiter said, “can I bring you some chips and salsa?” And we said yes and then we were charged $5 for it. We cut our meal short and went to Hattie B’s for fried chicken! The dim sum is good though.

My favorite

By Gary G |

China Poblano is my favorite restaurant in Las Vegas. The service was great and they did a good job in spacing in the Covid era. I enjoyed the chips & guacamole, followed by the 20 ingredient rice. My wife really liked her pomegranate margarita, a "salt air" margarita? Her new favorite drink. The only downside is that they no longer have the Terracotta Warrior for dessert. It was my birthday, so that was a bummer. I hope they bring it back before I return. *Menus are QR code

Awesome

By Santoide L |

I already saw this restaurant a few months ago but didn’t go. I decided to come now, there was a 25 minute wait to get my table. They served water and refilled it like almost every sip, I ordered Le mien Lo main and it was REALLY good. I would totally come here again and would recommend. (I also recommend making a reservation if the wait time annoys you)

So much flavor

By Shelly K |

What a find. You can get mexican or dumplings here. The flavors are so rich and fresh and delicious. I had something with butternut squash it was amazing. Would have loved to sample more items but didnt have the time. Will go back here next time im in vegas . They alao make their own tortillas.

WOW!

By billhollowsky |

We had a large company business dinner here. Great services and great food. We had 12 courses and everything was delicious. Highly recommended whether in a small or large group!

Grat Fusion

By Knabebug |

I have been to China Poblano several times now. Love especially the Asian offerings. The shu mai are fantastic as is the fried rice. Jose Andres is such a fabulous chef and humanitarian. Definitely a return is warranted.

Meh

By CDBCDB |

I order two tacos for lunch...the carnitas were ok, and the fish was bland. These were "just tacos," nothing special. A friend really enjoyed his noodle dish, and my wife said her quesadilla was good, but nothing special. Service was good.

Chefs tasting menu did not disappoint!

By Lindsey J |

On a whim, we decided to pop in here for dinner. We’d never been before. Our server was Matthew and he suggested the chefs experience menu for $60 per person. I think there were 6-8 courses. Matthew asked if anyone had any allergies or food aversions - which I do. Every single dish came out perfectly and my dishes came out separately with extra thought and care for my preferences. I can’t recommend this experience highly enough! Thank you!

Love Jose' Andres, but likely won't go back...

By Randi S |

We were very much looking forward to going here, but left disappointed. We really wanted 1 particular dish, that after we ordered, we were told they were out of it. At 7:00. On a Saturday night... That's poor management. Another issue that points to poor management was a fish taco - which came highly recommended by a friend was very fishy tasting. Our cocktail was lovely. The tuna ceviche was delicious but a little too salty. The carnitas taco was no better than chipotle. Pretty room. Nice staff.

Best New Restaurant of our Trip!

By CSBM |

This was our first visit to China Poblano and I can guarantee it won’t be our last!!! We were there at the end of Happy Hour. We started with the specialty margaritas and they were wonderful. We also had chips and salsa and the wontons. They were both good but the wontons were the standout. They were like nothing I’ve ever had before...so light and flaky. Then we each had a taco ...they were both very good but nothing you can share. Then we ordered the 20 vegetable fried rice with chicken. It was AMAZING! This might have been my first time having this dish but it won’t be the last! It can easily serve 4 people. It is the best comfort food anyone could ask for. We had great service and I recommend getting a reservation as we saw them turning people away. I can’t wait to return and try some of the other dishes on the menu. This was the winner of our trip:) CSBM

Delicious.... loved the wings

By Travelloverlady |

The Mexican and Chinese options in one place initially seem to be at odds - but they work well, the food really is delicious!

DONT GO THERE!

By merda s |

My expirience with this restaurant was TERRIBLE! first of all we sat down and it felt like we were in Antarctica, the air conditioning was too strong, it made us sick. Then the dishes... expensive is an understatement and were worth a quarter of their price, maybe. Also the whole room was a real mess and we couldn't stay calm, the best part is that we also waited 40 minutes!

Great fun place for dinner

By StevesFamily00 |

We had a fun and enjoyable dinner here while visiting Vegas. After a large breakfast we were not hungry for lunch and decided to try China Poblano for an early dinner - the food was fantastic and the staff extremely helpful and friendly. The shrimp dinner was amazing - so many wonderful spices just really made the dish wonderful. My daughter enjoyed her noodle dish and my wife enjoyed her mongolian beef. We would return again to try more dishes!

So good

By Brandi |

Excellent all the way around. We ordered the queso fundido with chorizo, a fish taco, a pork taco, and the fried rice. Everything was better than the last. It was the best fried rice I have ever had. I think the tacos ,while delicious, were a small for the price tag as was the Salt Air Margarita. The queso and the fried rice were generous portions and good for sharing. Will definitely be back.

Great meal and unique

By michellerR6668 |

Was intrigued when I saw this sign of the mix of Mexican and Chinese food that we had to try. Great food and experience. Ordered the guacamole which is made fresh at table and had some great ceviche and ended the meal with tres leches cake. ALL WAS GOOD. A lot of people were ordering the noodles and dim sum which will do next time. I also felt good contributing to Jose Andres since he's such a humanitarian.

Mix from China and Mexico

By Alexandre H |

We arrived and waited for a table for about 20 minutes. The service was good, although the waiter wore a mask and his voice was quite muffled by the noise of the place. We opted for the chef's menu. In general, everything was very tasty.

Great concept

By Roberta T |

Nice Mexican + Asian concept. The Asian side of the menu seemed better executed, in particular the dim sum and delicious 18 Monk noodles. The tacos were so-so, rather underwhelming carnitas. The salt air margarita was delicious, and I did a flight of mezcal which was wonderful! Great vibe and good service. I would return and lean into the Asian side of the menu more.

Good food.

By Malin R.O |

Very good food. Ordered chicken dumplings and noodles. It was very good and spicy! Got served wine in a glass of water - not so impressed there. But otherwise good waiters.

Our favorite in LV

By ChazMKE |

Loved this place. Everything in the menu seems to hit perfectly. Wait staff were on their A game and the food came out at a good pace. The mix of both Chinese and Mexican dishes is great and the only danger is that you will overeat here. Nice atmosphere. We saw a few other families with kids and it worked well, there are plenty of items on the menu that kids will enjoy.

Still delicious!

By Jeaniy02 |

This is going to sound crazy, but we ate here about 10 years ago when we were last in Vegas, and we've talked about it ever since. This was the first place I ever had dan dan mian and I'm happy to say that it's still delicious. We stopped in for a late lunch. We did not make a reservation and had to wait for probably 15-25 minutes, so not terrible. We shared the Mongolian beef and lettuce (delicious), dan dan mian (delicious), and chips and salsa (good amount of spicy). I had a Mexican coke since the heat was trying to kill me and my husband had an icy cold tall beer. We recommend this place to any of our friends when they're headed to Vegas.

Amazing first visit!

By Apassionfortravel11 |

Wonderful restaurant at Cosmo! It was our first visit but will not be our last. The service and food were exceptional and it lived up to it’s reputation online. We had a great corner table and the waiter was amazing and made several wonderful recommendations; we followed his lead. We loved their cocktails, tacos (the cactus taco was unreal!), dumplings, pork buns, and noodles. They also brought a delightful dessert in honour of my husband's milestone birthday! I highly recommend this restaurant and the manager came by the table to ensure that all was well and followed up with an email (I had made a reservation online) thanking us for our patronage…. nice touch!

Great place love Jose Andres food!

By Carlos L. |

This is amazing good value. The service always is great and food is always awesome. We have eaten here multiple times and have never ever had a bad experience! Highly recommend!

Mexican/Chinese fusion

By Holzfrog |

We had an average lunch here. The dim sum was fairly decent, the tuna ceviche was nice but the melted cheese and tortillas was not nice. Service was friendly but a bit haphazard.

Extremely slow service at Cosmo Hotel

By 21Pam |

Two elderly Mexican women cooking one taco at a time painfully slow in front of me and others. The Beef taco was greasy and tasteless. The only good thing was the guacamole - now that had flavor. Long line for take-out ,made those of us in the restaurant, wait forever. Bad service all around.

This place is absolutely fantastic.

By bdearl41 |

This place is absolutely fantastic. The best meal I have had in Las Vegas. I had the tasting menu which I’m one of the best culinary deals in the strip. That along with a cocktail and I was out after tip only 60 bucks. The Chinese Sweet Tomatoes were my favorite dish. I loved it so much I drank the tomato water left over. Please give this place a try.

Pleasantly Surprised

By kimmysue42 |

This restaurant has good reviews but when you walk by it, it’s very understated and looks a bit like a cafeteria. I would call us a great, not too expensive restaurant in Vegas. Our service was good and the food was excellent. It’s very casual and a little bit noisy, but we all had a good time. We had the guacomole, dim dum, watermelon salad, carnitas tacos & lo mein. All the dishes were enjoyed except for the lo mein, it was not what my friend was expecting a little different flavor.

So good

By James M |

Absolutely outstanding. The tasting menu is definitely the way to go, with the Tuna Ceviche being the highlight for us.

Always great food and service

By Durwood N |

We visit this restaurant each and every trip to Las Vegas. We normally get a variety of Chinese and Hispanic food. All of which are outstanding. There sea salt foam margarita is the best. Excellent service and food was the appropriate temperature and excellent taste.

Nothing special

By chefjeff60 |

Went here with friends the waiter recommended these tacos as amazing. They were greasy and far from tasty. My friends were unimpressed with their choices as well..the vibe in the restaurant was great the food nothing special.

Great restaurant in Las Vegas

By Michel R |

If you are looking to change American or Mexican cuisine during your stay in Las Vegas without paying a fortune at a famous Japanese or French, do not hesitate and go to China Poblano in the cosmopolitan hotel. The dim sum we took were delicious and the ceviche are absolutely excellent.

A real gem of a place.

By Britishgal1234 |

This place is unassuming and a real GEM. So good we went twice for lunch during our 4 day Vegas vacation. Each time we were lucky to be accepted as walk ins and get prime spots at the high top bar. The service is EXCEPTIONAL. The server/host/maitre'd / bar man was what really made it for us. i am gutted we didn't ask his name. He was a true professional and funny and welcoming and knew his menu through and through. The food is off the charts good. And amazing value for money. I cannot recommend this place high enough. Thank you to the whole team here. We will be back!

Faboo as Always!

By Knabebug |

As always, we had another fantastic lunch at China Poblano. We forewent the most fabulous table side prepared guacamole because it would just have been too much for the two of us so we ended up with the lovely Shu Mai. We also got the pork ribs with a lovely five spice flavor. The salt air margaritas were fantastic, as was the Carajillo. Service was excellent as usual. This is one of our favorite places at the Cosmo.

Fresh tortillas and Bao

By Suie0515 |

Restaurant has two counters -one making fresh tortillas and Mexican flavors and one for Asian items. Food is good. On 2nd floor is Cosmo. Reservations recommended but you can stop in and get out on the list and meander.

Delicious but small servings

By Melissa |

Great service and the food was very delicious but a lot smaller servings than what you get in a typical American restaurant. It was nice to not leave overly full. Very tasty options on the menu and interesting concept with Chinese and Mexican food both on the menu. Definitely will return!

Worth going to two days in a row!

By bigearslargeyes |

Delicious! Colorful setting. Great food. Shumai is so fabulous we went back a second time and ordered two more rounds! All the food is yum. The noodle dishes sound better than they taste. If you get noodle get Road to Xian. Service can be a bit rushed but it’s very pleasant

Chinese Mexican Menu!

By João Branco |

We were at this restaurant for dinner. As we didn't have a reservation, we waited 20 minutes for a table. From the menu, we chose the "chef's experience", a selection of oriental and Mexican dishes. I thought the menu was good, but the ingredients were simple for the price charged for this "experience". One of the dishes was just a cucumber salad, still cut differently and difficult to eat. Everything with lots of pepper too! And the waiter serving us wearing a mask didn't help either!

Just say yum!

By TravelQueen56_10 |

A Jose Andres restaurant with a blending of Dim Sum, noodles and tacos! Light and fun restaurant where you can watch up front the making of your dim sum or tacos. Staff are very knowledgeable and polite and can help you with your choices. The salt air margarita is a must. It is one of Jose’s special cocktails. Try the tasting menu for $45. It will not disappoint. And for those of you unaware who Jose is, he is the force behind World Central Kitchen and the owner of many other great restaurants based in Washington DC.

Great authentic food at reasonable prices - we love it there!

By Bruce C |

We love this place. We tend to avoid places on the strip, but this place is unique. The food is fresh and delicious - true Mexican food that's amazing. We were there last time we were in Vegas and went twice this time because we know it's so good. Drinks are really good, atmosphere is fun but not Vegas stuffy, and the people and service are great too. And, for the Strip - it's priced really well!

Not the Same Experience as Most Reviews Shown

By Ms.LoveTravel |

Must agree with DDM137's review for starters. Met with reverse discrimination by the hostess who indicated we could not be seated as they were closed between lunch and dinner (we were a tad early due to time change difference stomach clocks) only to find out they do not close between lunch and dinner?! Wow. Server (tall with shaved head - no name given to us who need not be in service industry at all), brought my cocktail without explaining why I was mixing in my own soda/tonic? and failed to bring a glass for my husband's beer. So, he asked if he could have a glass and our pretentious pompous "person" of a server (who had no reason to be so) never came back with a glass. Server continued rudeness and passed table to another server and said he was going on break however, he did not leave the floor or the door. He was passing his complaint off to someone else as our ticket came to us with new server's name who was friendly and accommodating who got the AMEX platinum tip! Tuna Ceviche we ordered was pretty when it came out but Tuna was on the tipsy edge of "don't serve" and due to taste impairment should not have been. We opted to stop here with our Tuna Ceviche(spoiled), Guacamole (warm but decent), Chicken Dim Sum (fair but not great) apps and 1 drink and we opted to stop here and count this as a loss in Vegas. We do not recommend as I followed up when I got home (due to rudeness and food safety) and Asst Mgr never followed up with my telephone call (yes, it was that bad and I do not call as a norm). If you insist on trying it yourself: The menu description is in a font of 8, parking is at the Cosmopolitan Casino and they do have valet. It is located in a food court like area of the hotel on an upper floor near the oversized Chandelier (which is a bar on several floor levels).

Good food

By Tom F |

Ate here twice during the week we were in Vegas. Did the tasting menu once and ordered our own dishes the second time. Pretty much everything we ate, we enjoyed. The quesabirria, the chicken shu mai, and the mole shrimp were the best. The wait staff were all super friendly. Definitely worth a visit while in Vegas.

Excellent tacos and dim sum

By Natushx1 |

This place was really delicious. Good dim sum and tacos. Great combination of foods. Service was great and the drinks were delicious.

Fantastic Food

By kegearhart |

I am in Vegas about two or three times a year and this has become one of my favorite places to eat. The food is always fresh and flavorful and the cocktails are great. Be aware this is not fusion Chinese and Mexican but two distinct types of food that work really well together when order in combination. Most everything is very easy to share. Be sure to try the Salt Air Margarita.

Funky Fantastic Chinese

By Chris H |

We had many dishes and not one complaint from our group. Great service, friendly staff and all following the new normal. Will be back.

Over rated

By WT |

We were very disappointed with the food and the service. Our order was simple. Waiter made three mistakes and didn’t really seem to care. Half of the food items were good and the other half fair at best. The house margarita was just plain bad. Waste of time and money.

Not what I would have expected

By Phill N |

Not what I would have expected. I had an over priced glass of wine and a wise cracking waiter. it was not worth what I paid, and I will never go back.

Excellent!

By CindyC |

Enjoyed an excellent dinner at China Poblano on our recent Vegas trip. It’s an interesting menu, with a mix of Chinese and Mexican food, but it’s not fusion. Our meal was really great - standouts were the wonton soup with shrimp and chicken wontons - I know, it’s just soup, but it was really tasty. We also enjoyed the bbq pork buns, fried wontons, carnitas and chicken tacos, lettuce cups, and lo mein, which was also sooo good! Will plan to dine here again on our next visit.

Excellent for lunch or dinner

By Christopher T |

Great place, creative food. Great cocktails and beer selection. This is not fusion, rather offers very nice selection of asian and latin influenced cuisine. Simple but elegant. Service outstanding. The manager on duty, Eduardo, was extremely helpful and kind, showing significant attention to us along with other diners throughout the experience. Will absolutely return. Great spot for lunch or dinner. Recommend the tasting experience if you are having trouble deciding.

Simply fantastic

Staff were well trained , courteous, super helpful particularly we had special dietary requirements. Food was excellent . Restaurant has a lively ambience and music just right so you can converse over dinner without needing to shout . Perfect find !! Keep it up team . Thank you so much .,

Wonderful food and great service

Great restaurant and great food. We started with a delicious table side prepare guacamole and shared several wonderful entrees including the Quesabirra tacos and the twenty vegetable fried rice and the Jo Song lettuce wraps all recommended by our waiter - who was amazing!!!

We love China Poblano

By charity |

We loved our dinner at China poblano. The shrimp&pork dumplings with the vinegar was our favorite. Second was the Dan Dan noodles. Every taco was awesome as well. Fun casual environment!

Really good fusion food

By Todd P |

We did the full fusion experience; tacos and dim sum. It was spectacular. Drinks were unique and fun. Get the air salt margarita.

Pricey

By Durwood N |

This unusual fusion restaurant is a gem: the food, both the Chinese and Mexican are uniformly excellent. The salt air margaritas are wonderful. The service is omnipresent. The value is disappointingly poor with excessive costs. Sad

Another amazing experience

By George C |

Day 3 anniversary food tour took us to our third chef Jose Andres restaurant, China Poblano, where you can eat a mix of Mexican and Chinese, but no fusion dishes. Definitely another experience that was about more then just the food. The GM Eduardo and our waiter Matthew were very attentive and made sure our anniversary was celebrated. Best ceviche either one of us has ever had, we had to order it twice. Always an honor to support his restaurants, in a small way we feel like we are supporting his amazing humanitarian works around the world. #worldcentralkitchen #chefjoseandres

Pick another place

By Melissa P |

I was really disappointed in this place. My daughter loves Asian food and I love Mexican so I thought this would be a winner. Both types were almost inedible. The price was way high for the small portions we received. We left hungry after paying $75 for three small meals. I am not a super picky eater but this was really bad. Super disappointing.

Best waitress ever: Annie

By Knabebug |

As always, the food was superb. But Annie was the best waitress we’ve had at China Poblano. She prepared the best tableside guacamole We’ve had here. And she recognized our profile and brought us extra condiments. Right on, Annie!

My new favorite in Las Vegas

By Reyna H |

We had a delicious meal of fish tacos, tuna ceviche, and golden pigs. But what really made it stand out was the service. From the greeter to those that brought us our drinks, they were attentive and so nice. Especially our server Tina who elevated the whole experience. It is now my favorite restaurant in Las Vegas and will be back as soon as I can.

Tried to have dinner here on 14th March. We were sat at our bench and we were looking at the menu, when a server asked us if we had decided what we would like to order. We replied we hadn't decided yet, he then made a sarcastic reply that the restaurant doesn't close until 11pm so you have 4 hrs to decide. Both myself and my husband were not happy with how we had been spoken too and decided to leave and eat elsewhere. Went to Chillis up the road and had fantastic food and service.

Great food and fun!

My family and I joined another couple for a birthday celebration. Food and drink was so wonderful. The general manager, Eduardo Sanchez, was so helpful with taking care of us and his menu recommendations were fantastic. Loved the margaritas also!

What a fantastic surprise!

By Kevin G |

This restaurant is in the Cosmopolitan and rough next to the door court. This makes the quality and depth of the dishes so surprising. Highly recommend the margarita with the salt foam. The tacos were great and the Chinese dan dan mian and the xiao long nap were wonderful! You have to go!

Good Chinese or Mexican food (but not Chinese Mexican food)

By sdrath |

Good tacos and drinks… but nothing too unique. I think we were assuming this was going to be a neat fusion of Chinese and Mexican food - but it was more a menu with standard Mexican and standard Chinese with no overlap. All the food was good but not the unique experience we were expecting - our fault for not doing a but more research. Still a good meal.

Great Ribs

Great service, very welcoming & friendly sat up at the bar. Fabulous Char Sui ribs! Will definitely return and try happy hour too which looks like it would be good value

Perfect fusion

By Kay D |

We absolutely loved our time here. The food was awesome. The bbq bao buns and dim sum were amazing. We had 3 different kind of tacos too, all of which were yummy. The noodles we had were a hit and miss, my hubby was not a fan but I liked them. Service was good too. Absolutely no complaints.

Chinese and Mexican Fusion -- Great food and interesting menu

By Jonathan B |

As some of Jose Andres' other restaurants are do not-miss destinations, I wanted to give this restaurant a shot. I was genuinely curious about his take on Chinese-Mexican fusion. I went with the chef tasting menu 'Jose's Way' in order to sample what they believe to be their standout dishes. Chips & Salsa: Good, but ordinary and nothing that notes any extra comments. Tuna Ceviche: Tasty and well-prepared. Very small portion, but that is relatively common for high-end restaurants these days. Still delicious. Quail Egg Siu Mai: Classic dim sum dish that was perfectly prepared and presented. Taste was excellent! Cold Cucumbers: Cucumber salad with nice spice. Good refreshing dish to break up the other appetizer courses with a refereshing, asian-flavored dish. Golden Pig: Pork dumpling. If you like dumplings and you like pork, you will be in heaven with this one. Sweet and salty at the same time. They could have just served this to me all night and I could have died a happy man. Quesabirria: Somewhat of a quesadilla and somewhat of a taco. Has goat meat. Overall it tasted delicious despite the uncertainty in what category it falls into. Definitely do not miss this! Wok-Roasted Seasonal Vegetables: This was one dish that to me was just "okay" with a few spicy peppers hidden in there to completely blow your palette out if you accidentally ingest them. I could have skipped this. Camarones al Mojo de Ajo Negro: To be fair, I am not typically a big fan of shrimp. However, this is shrimp in garlic, butter and olive oil. This dish was so well prepared, frankly it could have been any protein and you wouldn't have noticed. I would strongly recommend this dish. XO Twenty Vegetable Fried Rice: At first, I wasn't too crazy about this fried rice. It really just tasted like any other fried rice. However as I made my way through this dish, the rice really grew on me and I started to acquire a taste for it. I would like to try this dish again on another day when my palette is a bit clearer to really make a judgement. Uno Dos Tres Leches (Dessert): I have had Tres Leches quite a bit in my life. I still believe that the best Tres Leches I have had is at Americas in Houston. This Tres Leches is good, not great. That doesn't mean it's not good, but I have high expectations for Tres Leches and unfortunately that means that this dessert is being graded on a curve. Overall, I found this restaurant to be enjoyable and would say they have created some very tasty dishes. I would categorize the menu less as "fusion", which to me implies that there is a combination of both the Chinese and Mexican influences into one dish, but rather a combination menu that includes each separate genre with some classic and some new dishes that firmly sit in one category or the other. The staff was super friendly and attentive and were very helpful in walking me through the menu and any drink pairing that I was interested in.

By far the best meal we had in Vegas

By Bruce C |

We went to a number of high end restaurants while in Vegas and were really disappointed. When going to China Poblano we were incredibly surprised and thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing! Food was great - authentic, fresh and well done. Atmosphere was great, and the service was great. We should have gone here every night!

Mixture of flavors

The place is great and the service was very friendly. The food mixes Mexican and Asian style. Highly recommended the truth.

Well Worth the Price

By Jennifer P |

First I have to say that I am biased in favor of ThinkFoodGroup. I'm a long-term fan of Jaleo's. Which means that China Poblano had to live up to that. I might be biased in its favor, but I also have high expectations. Which this restaurant met. Like all of the Jose Andrés creations, China Poblano works with the family style, small plates concept. Tacos, however, are sold individually. It's not a fusion restaurant. It has a Mexican menu and a Chinese menu, and the idea is to order from both. But you won't find fusion *dishes* here. You'll find interesting noodle dishes, excellent tacos, and the best agua fresca I've ever had...and I'm an agua fresca addict (the second best is, of course, from a food truck). I will note that the dining room is a little loud, both in decibels and in decoration. it IS in Vegas, after all. But it's a very different feel from the more sophisticated and mature Jaleo's...it's a lot more playful in ambience. Our waiter was absolutely fantastic, especially as we dined late, it was approaching closing and the end of the guy's shift, and he was still great. The chain treats their people well, and it shows. (We also saw a mixologist with some splendid visible ink but again, this IS Vegas ;)). Highly recommended and well worth the price.

Very good food and prices

By Donna |

Went with friends for dinner and was happy we did. Veg fried rice was delicious to share. Tacos (fish, beef, pork, frijoles) were all very good. Cactus was a bit bland. Ants on tree was too salty to eat but other noodles were good. Empanadas delicious and great margaritas. Excellent prices

Tasting Menu

The tasting menu was a perfect offering of the asian/latin fusion. Try the heirloom tomato dish!!! Who knew a bowl of tomatoes good taste so good????

Fun choices

By travelingfamily4Ma |

We enjoyed out dinner here. We both got margaritas- my husband the “air salt” special margarita and I had the Flaca. The air salt one is instead of a salt rim, there is a salty foam on top. He said it was a little strange to get used to. We each had a taco. He had one with cactus and pumpkin seeds which he really liked. I had the potato one which I thought was bland. We split the lettuce wrap chicken king pao- very spicy and a little hard to eat but good. We also split the dan Dan noodles which were really flavorful. We started with chips and salsa which were better than most places. It was a nice atmosphere, our waiter was great- we had a good time. We did notice that some tables were shared. They were longer tables with different parties at each end. If that’s not something you want I would mention it in your reservation that you don’t want a shared table.

The Best of Two Cuisines

By tooth46 |

We ate a deliciously satisfying lunch at China Poblano. We shared and had the noodle salad, 1 chicken taco & 1 fish taco, and an order of guacamole with chips & crudités. Everything was exceptionally good. In our estimation, the combination of food was unique and brought a host of taste sensations to our palate. Our server explained the menu and helped us choose - she was great.

Good food, not expensive

By Ogi0 |

We stopped by for dinner. The restaurant is not exactly fusion, but rather has Mexican and Chinese dishes, but they are like separate dishes. We liked the food, the service was fast.

Good food and service

By DrJJF |

We went there as a group and got the tasting menu and it was great. It’s a lot of food but provides the opportunity to try a variety of dishes. The service was good- very attentive and friendly servers. I would definitely recommend this place.

Great food and atmosphere

By Noor |

Fantastic dinner and I wasn’t sure what to expect at a Chinese and Mexican restaurant…. Family of 4 (including teen boys) so we ordered several things. Fish tacos, bean tacos were very good. Cucumber salad was excellent. fried pork dumplings and lo mein were outstanding. Chips and salsa very good. Chicken and potato tacos were average to good. The only disappointing dish was the warrior dessert. Service was good. We had a reservation which I think ensures a better table

China Poblano Never Dissapoints

By LeBois |

China Poblano by Jose Andreas is a go-to regular spot for us when we visit Las Vegas. We love the fusion of Latin and Asian flavors and the variety of dishes on the menu. The atmosphere is lively and friendly with an attentive staff. The venue is fairly intimate (by Vegas standards) with a taco bar and liquor bar. But the food and the flavors are the stars of the show here which adds a much-appreciated level of authenticity. No pretension. This visit included chilaquiles, tuna ceviche, cucumber salad, carne asada, and birria tacos. Ask for all the house made salsas and combine them for a delightful effect. We enjoyed a terrific tres leches cake with fresh strawberry and banana to finish the meal. (On previous visits we have also enjoyed the fried rice, noodles, and pozole.)

Consistent

By Durwood N |

We come here at least once a year and are never disappointed in the food. This includes great dumplings, guacamole, tacos, and other items. The service is acceptable. The portion sizes are rather petite for the price. The drinks are pricey as well, with limited alcohol

best restaurant experience of my trip

By emy33 |

One of the best margaritas in the strip. And what about mouths, so tasty. What a beautiful discovery. Dumplings, tacos, everything was excellent.

fun lunch

By texasjulie |

While visiting Vegas, my friend wanted to see the Princess Diana exhibit. We were hungry afterwards, so wandered around and found this place. We were seated at one of the cook stations, and it was fun to watch. Chips and salsa was pretty good. I had the Salt Air Margarita which was nice. I had a pollo taco that was great. My friend had the carnitas and a Taco de Papa. She liked both. Atmosphere was great. We didn't feel rushed.

Great Venue

By Knabebug |

During our last stay at the Cosmo, we again went to China Poblano which is always an awesome experience. Overall, I prefer the Asian dishes here over the Mexican ones. We had the Golden Pearls, the Traditional Shu Mai, and the Chicken Shu Mai. All three were delicious. I did not care for the eggplant. For some reason I thought it would be a cold dish, but it was warm. The Mongolian Beef was also interesting. It had lettuce cooked in it. The Guacamole prepared table-side was also fantastic. Service was very good.

Perfect date night

By tnarkiewicz |

This is a great spot to get the tasting menu from Jose Andres. Each course was better than the last. They are very conscious of food allergies and will verify food substitutions! Out of all of the restaurants my girlfriend and I went to on this trip, this one was by far the best one. We ordered the tasting menu, a 9 course meal for $55... we even needed to take some stuff back to the room with us! Plated amazingly. Our server was friendly and well versed. All the wait-staff were amazing and were knowledgeable about what they were providing.

Favorite restaurant in Las Vegas

My absolute favorite restaurant in all of Las Vegas!!! This night was amazing everything from the service, staff, kitchen and the manager Jackie was amazing.

Dinner

By 2001NH |

Unfortunately, they were out of several things when we were there. The coconut ceviche was really interesting. Slivers of young coconut with purple onions, cilantro, lime, radishes. Really lovely flavors. The eggplant was cooked well but I wish there was a sauce on it to accentuated the flavors of the eggplant. Even an XO sauce or black bean sauce. The mango sticky rice was very interesting, but unfortunately, the mango was not ripe. Very creative menu however. Service was very good.

So good

By jonnius |

Chinese and Mexican seems like an odd combo, but it works. Be warned, however. This isn't a true fusion place. You won't find tacos with noodles in them. They just happen to have some Chinese dishes and some Mexican dishes. But everything is delicious and the combos really work.

Worst Restaurant at Cosmopolitan! Overpriced

By Jigi |

This is a concept restaurant by Jose Andreas and is on the 2nd floor across the Block 16 food hall. We were very very disappointed. The portions and not value for money. I have eaten at many fresh organic food places where flavors are outstanding, portions are good and value for money. We tried 3 off their tacos, one was chicken and other Vegetarian. The tacos are street style and they cost $6 each ( you read that right it's expensive) We also tried their 20 Vegetables Fried rice, I had requested no egg but we still found few pieces of scrambled egg. Our service is very cold too, the seats need to be trashed as they have no back support. Please avoid this place ! It's over priced with cold service and uncomfortable seats.

Simply, Amazing Food, Service & Vibe!.

I visited thrice you restaurant in May. Specifically for the great food and  Edezer.  I would like to mention, that he is one of the best professionals I have seen in  5* restaurants, and I have travelled and been to many amazing restaurants around the world.   Edezer's service  was unparalleled. It is not with flattery that I speak, but truth must be told again;  Edezer  is one of the best professionals that I have ever met in any field, with the highest degree of professionalism, and kindness I have ever encountered. He knew and explained every single dish on the menu and everything he proposed for us to get, was one plate better than the other. He was even providing tips on how to eat each one to maximize the taste and experience.   Thank you for your high standard international level of professionalism, warmth and attention and that reflects on you Catherine and Luis as Managers for the great choices you make and training you provide to your collaborators.   We will also share this amazing experience we had at your restaurant for the food and service with friends, family, colleagues and on other media platforms (gave you already 5* on Tripdadvisor).  WIth much gratitude and appreciation. Thank you very much Edezer-You are the best! And of course Luis & Catherine for the experience.

Food never disappoints, prickly pear 🍐margaritas are fantastic, mango margaritas are just as good. Jenny always takes great care of us, such great customer service skills!

Not Great Chinese and Not Great Mexican

By MLE |

The concept sounded good; we enjoy Chinese and Mexican cuisine and read positive reviews, so thought we’d give it a try. Very disappointing meal. We ordered Margaritas, only to be told they don’t have a blender, only drinks on the rocks. In a Mexican restaurant bar, no blender? Our server recommended the guacamole, prepared tableside. We live in California and vacation a lot in Mexico, so we know guacamole. We found theirs to be too heavy on the lime, and way too light on traditional Mexican spices and onions. Very bland, with lime overpowering the avocado. We ordered two different kinds of Dim Sum (again at the recommendation of our very nice server). My chicken one was gluey and completely lacking in texture or flavor. My husband’s pork Dim Sum was only slightly better. The meat flavors were indiscernible, no ginger or spices or texture—just a bland ball wrapped in unappealing rubbery dough. We would have to say, based on our experience, this restaurant does not excel in Chinese or Mexican cuisine. We would not choose to eat here again.

So Good!

Service: Excellent service and we were served by multiple people and even the manager check-in on us. Food: Dim Sum: Chicken Siu Mai - MUST TRY Dim Sum: Golden Pearls Tacos: Pescado Estilo Baja Tacos: Carnitas (I didn't eat) Vegetables: Yu Xiang Eggplant Seafood: Camarones al Mojo Ajo Negro - MUST TRY Noodles: Ants Climbing a Tree - MUST TRY Noodles: 18 Monk Sweet: Mango Sticky Rick The food is tasty and is great for sharing. We were a group of three and the food was just enough for us to feel full. Food notes: If you've been to Thailand and eaten Mango sticky right, I wouldn't recommend this dish. I think they use frozen and/or canned mangos. It's nice on it's own. The photos don't give it justice, but the 'white foam' is light and delicate. I like eggplant, but my group found the texture on the 'mushy' side. Drinks: Margaritas and Bombay Saphire Gin - MUST TRY Ambiance: It's a small restaurant, so I would recommend a reservation. They have long tables so it is a great place for large groups. Pretty restaurant but nothing over the top.

Check this place out

Started with a salt air margarita. Salty foam over the margarita was perfect. We had a melange of Chinese and Mexican. Really was perfect. Noodles superb, tacos sublime. No disappointments. High recommendations

China Poblano

By MooVonFloo |

Two of my favorite cuisines in one place! Guacamole: made table side; I had a really hard time stopping myself from eating the entire thing. Sopas: small delicious hot little treats. 18 monk noodle w/ added shrimp: I wanted to love them but they were a little too dry and lacked flavor. Dragon and Pearls: delicious lobster, delicious rice. Should be a staple on the menu, only complaint was that we weren’t given shellfish utensils, which made it far harder and messier to eat. I would say that if you’re looking for something familiar yet new, give China Poblano a try.
