The cafe, which is next to the larger Chinook's restaurant, is open for take-out during this time of social distancing. The seafood was fresh and delicious. My order included fries and coleslaw. I ate out on the dock near the Fishermen's Memorial. There were benches, with very few people were around. It was relaxing to eat with a nice view of the marina.

This place was really busy even though we went quite early on a Saturday night. The atmosphere was really good and the staff were kind, considerate and helpful. The menu was quite extensive with a lot of choice and local produce including crab shellfish and fish. However, I was disappointed with how some of the food was cooked and presented. A couple of us had prawns and were disappointed by the flavour as we felt they were frozen and not fresh considering this restaurant specialises in fresh seafood! I also thought that they tried too hard to “bulk up” the food with lots of bread prior to the meal and lashings of potatoes with the main course. I do have to say that the Crab claws I had were very tasty, but the points mentioned stopped me giving this an excellent review and whilst it was good, in reality it was not very good. Well worth a visit though!

Beautiful view onto a working fishing harbor with sunset view. Excellent fresh seafood, family friendly, down to earth and friendly people all around and reasonably priced. There are similar restaurants in Seattle, this one is by far the best. Have gone back many times, definitely a keeper.

The prices here are moderate to high, but the seafood is excellent. My husband and I both had the trout and really enjoyed the atmosphere and view on the water. Service was excellent and they had a good craft beer selection.

Two friends, visiting from Australia, wanted to join us for breakfast on a Sunday, somewhere by the water. I knew Chinook’s would be a perfect location but was unsure about whether they served breakfast. When I called, the response was affirmative, so off we went, arriving around 9:30 a.m. The big restaurant had plenty of vacant tables but we spied only one left by the windows, overlooking the marina. The gracious greeter told us we could have it and led the way. As we started to look at the menu’s breakfast offerings, our waitress brought us complimentary blueberry scones — big, warm and with a biscuit-like texture that is similar to how they are made in Australia. The berries tasted like they had just been picked. These unexpected free delectables come with breakfast here, a really nice surprise. We ordered a variety of items, including perfectly prepared poached eggs and Eggs Benedict, which received a big thumbs up from one of our dining companions. I asked our waitress if it would be possible to get a side order of sliced peaches, because they are in season now, unbelievably juicy and sweet and I saw some of the whole fruit when I walked by the kitchen. She smiled at my enthusiasm, pointed out that peach slices are not on the menu but offered to see if it could be done. The peach slices arrived quickly and proved to be absolutely heavenly. My coffee was also excellent, rich and strong, just the way I like it. . Service was absolutely outstanding. The delicious food arrived quickly. Our waitress remained attentive, customer-focused and made more than one request on our behalf to the kitchen, where staff came through for us. Kudos to everyone involved in this most pleasant dining experience, which also involved a lovely view of the marina and the myriad boats moored there. Chinook’s has a huge free parking lot with myriad spaces.

Chinook’s consistently and reliably delivers good dining experiences. Located at the dock of the fishing fleet, the fish is always fresh and the scenery is great. Service was good and a good selection of beer and wine is available.

Have been eating here for years. Has always had very fresh seafood and shellfish in plentiful supply. They always have a supply of various oysters that are shucked to order..the view isn't bad either..looks right out to the fishing boats on the marina..We started with oysters and the cajun popcorn shrimp which were so good

Love this place. The best salmon fish and chips. Done in tempura, light coating, and good chips. Clam chowder is also excellent ,as good as Legal Seafood. Friendly service too.

They say you can never go back. Turns out, at least one time, we could! 24 years ago, on our first and only other visit to Seattle, a local gave us a tip about this great seafood restaurant we had to try. We were staying in a completely different part of town, and had to take 2 or 3 buses to get out there, but found it was totally worth it. I had a salmon with a smoky sauce that was the best fish I had ever tasted. We were only in Seattle for four nights, but we made the trek out to Chinook’s for three of them. I could not review back then — pre-internet and all — but we are finally back in Seattle. Of course, I looked up Chinook’s, expecting to be disappointed that it had closed years ago. Nope. Still there, in the same location. (This time, we took a Lyft. :-)) To my delight, one of the salmon dishes on the specials menu looked an awful lot like the one that had so delighted my palate in 1995. To make sure, I asked our outstanding waiter, Oliver about it, and he immediately offered to bring me some of the sauce to taste. It was exactly the same as I remembered, a smoky tangy creation that is perfect for salmon. All three of us had a wonderful meal. My 23 year old son, who had been patiently listening to me rave about this restaurant all day, had fish and chips, and my husband had the trout. To cap things off, Oliver (who had also heard my story) brought us a complimentary berry shortcake for dessert to help celebrate the occasion. Being from the east coast, my husband has definite ideas how shortcake is supposed to be prepared, and this one met the criteria. Home-made biscuit, rather than soft sponge. The berries were very fresh and perfectly ripe. All in all, it seems that we will need to make more frequent opportunities to visit Seattle in the future. We like the city, and we LOVE this restaurant!

Always have a great meal here. Love the chowder always fresh and never watered down as many places can be. Fish tacos are amazing Had the sockeye salmon on plank and it was awesome. A busy place but great for business as people are always happy with the food.

Mouthwatering for fresh Northwestern seafood? Then you want to head over to Chinook's at Fisherman's Terminal. Sit with your friends overlooking myriad fishing boats while you choose between oysters, shrimp, clams or several kinds of fish. Enjoy wonderfully friendly service and just kick back. This is one of Seattle's hidden gems, well known to the locals. Prices are reasonable, dress is casual and the atmosphere is fun. This is a don't miss destination.

My date and I were looking for a good seafood restaurant and as we were crossing the bridge in Seattle going towards Ballard we saw a sign for Fisherman's Wharf and found Chinook's restaurant. Great seating looking out at the marina. the acoustics are awful, the noise level was terrible so don't go if you want a quiet atmosphere and try to talk. The restaurant is in a very old building that is part of the Anthony's chain from years gone by. Plain and non-descript in décor. Looks are that of being on an assembly line. The food was decent not great but decent.

Very interesting place close to the locks. I had the "Blue Plate Special", which changes every day. It was cod in a delicate creamy sauce. They also have a fish market.

We went to Chinook’s strictly on the reviews from Trip Advisor. Not real sure what everyone else had to eat here - but we weren’t impressed. We are from New Mexico and have gone down to the Gulf and had some great seafood. Those dishes down south put this place to shame. We had the shrimp scampi and it was ok - the shrimp were tough and pretty bland. And not nearly as big as I thought prawns would be. We also got the salmon with a bbq sauce on it. It was pretty tasteless and so dry. We were not impressed at all. I can say that their bread - given to you as you sit down - was wonderful. I was hoping the rest of the meal would be the same. We had a lovely view of the marina and our waitress could not have been nicer. I would go back just for her!!! ( she was even nice enough and took enough interest in us to suggest a place for us to drive to that has some of the best photo ops for downtown Seattle. Kerry Park. That was totally worth the so- so meal!!!). BUT - I can say - without a doubt - that their blackberry cobbler was absolutely to die for!! It was heavenly. So..... go for the sweet waitress, the bread, and the heavenly blackberry cobbler!!! Skip the shrimp and salmon.

Three old friends, placed in a corner window table where they could talk without interruption for a wonderful 2.5 hours +. A very nice server who did everything right and great food, consumed down the last morsel. A nice experience. I had Tempura Prawns, my wife lingcod and our friend fried oysters. All gone!!! The view at Fisherman’s Terminal and the relaxing atmosphere made for a nice afternoon.

There were about 12 of us in the group. Short wait, lots of room and wonderful view of the marina. Food price typical for seafood. Had the Blueplate special (cod, potatoes, asparagus). Our waiter was great and split all the checks. Food was delicious!

I hate say it, but I go way back to the olden days when the present site of Chinook’s was occupied by the Wharf Restaurant. Interestingly, this remains a UW Husky place where you get your Bloody Mary before heading off to the Football game on your yacht moored at fisherman’s wharf. Certainly Chinook’s has become an established go to place for quality dining focused on seafood. Always busy, but with ample seating the wait to be seated is never long. Perfect for gazing at the fishing boats through the wall to wall windows. Never a complaint about the food or service. Like “Cheer’s”, Chinook’s is the neighborhood joint where friends meet friends, but much more where you can entertain your out-of-town guests. That’s why I will always keep coming back.

For a chain (part of Anthony's), Chinooks really stands alone. The location--in Fisherman's Terminal, with giant windows to look at the boats--is among the best in town. The service is ALwAYS great. Sure, they get busy. But the staff is professional and friendly. The fish is fresh, the cocktails and wine are well selected and well priced. The outdoor to-go Chinooks is good too.

Its a very good restaurant but its casual and not at all stuffy. Great views of the Marina- and very fresh food. We were there with my step daughter, her husband and their very engaged 5th grader and it was just the right mood and food. Not a favorite thing of mine: no ability to make reservations- even for a group of six. Perhaps larger ones can but I don't know... anyhow, very good crab and shrimp salad (although not lavish crab helping) standard but good fried Calamari appetizer and very good fish and chips which everyone else had. Very good service and a bright light atmosphere. We thought the key lime pie was special- Chocolate Sunday just average. But it really is a very nice , high quality fish restaurant. I will go again.

This is a great place for some GREAT seafood. The dungeness crab cakes are worth the trip. I also really enjoy the salmon and the halibut. It is in a great location, the staff is friendly but it really is all about the food.

Lunched at Chinook's with out-of-town friends. They loved watching the boats and activity in this working marina. The wild salmon was excellent. They loved the key lime pie. One piece is enough for two or three people. Brian, our server was excellent.

We tried this place after a bad experience at Ivar's fish bar (dry small pieces of fish). Chinooks was terrific and I highly recommend it It checked all the boxes Quick to order. Good staff. Quick to get our food, and most important...the fish and chips were big moist pieces of cod . Good flavor. Fries were cooked and seasoned just right. Price was typical $16-20 for most items. We did not try the restaurant, Frankly for lunch the take out window is better. But I saw that the restaurant charges closer to $30 for the same fish and chips you can get at the take out window And on top of that we had a lovely sunny day eating outside by the water.

Ate here as a guest of my wife's cousin who lives nearby. I had the Boston clam chowder (they have both Boston and Manhattan style, as well as a blend). I'll have to say it was the best clam chowder I've ever had. I like to compare fish tacos at different restaurants, so ordered the salmon tacos which come with chips and pico de gallo. These were excellent with the biggest salmon steaks inside I've ever gotten in a taco. Service was excellent and we will certainly go back when we are in Seattle again.

We visited Chinook's recently for lunch with very close friends. The seafood was outstanding as usual, and so was the service. We had Manhattan Chowder, Ling Cod and Pan Fried Oysters. All delicious! The restaurant also provided safe separation and other precautions necessary to reduce the risk of infection. We visited with close friends that we had not seen for many years while we ate and afterwards for a most delectable and delightful dining experience. We enjoyed every minute, and especially the fine dining.

The food was delicious. Fresh, Juicy fish and piping hot food when served. Staff are attentive and friendly. Beautiful view from the tables and the ambiance was welcoming.

Can't say enough good things about our experience at Chinook's. We sat on the outside patio section which was very nice on such a pretty day. First, the service was top notch. Our server spent several minutes providing suggestions and personal favorites. We took his recommendations and were not disappointed. I had the halibut and my wife had the crab cakes. Both were fantastic! The crab cakes are all crab, no bread, perfect. I wasn't a big fan of the green beans, a bit too tough for my taste, so swap those out for another veggie. Overall, great meal. A well earned 5 rating.

We went late on a weeknight and were lucky to snag a table with a harbor view. It was peaceful and relaxing watching the boats and its crews coming in for the night. The food was awesome! We had a crab appetizer and I had crab jambalaya before my meal of fresh caught Halibut with lemon and butter. It was fantastic. So were the drinks. I think getting seafood is mandatory when visiting Seattle and Chinooks is a place that does it right.

I go here and often recommend out of towners come to eat fresh fresh fish here. It can add up but you get what you pay for when it come to fresh fish and employees that are happy about where they work. We have been here too many times to count and bought gift cards during the pandemic to keep them afloat. This place is a Seattle Institution and dining overlooking the boats is really wonderful. The food is great, the menu varied, the service is always professional, and the place is clean. There is something for most everyone in the family and many families come here. Even some old mossbacks who miss the Wharf that has been gone for almost 30 years!

Selected this restaurant based on trip advisor. Glad we chose it. Drive from Seattle Center was ok using google map directions. Plenty of parking in front. Chinook's has an adjacent fish market so you know the fish will be fresh. There is a small outside seating area but we chose an interior booth that looked out at the boats in the harbor. Nice View! Large menu. Had to have fish based on the location- my wife had halibut fish and chips and I had wild alaskan salmon fish & chips for our lunch. We each enjoyed our meals. I chose an amber ale to accompany from their extensive beer list while my wife had a glass of white wine. Prices are reasonable. The nature of the building means sound travels so it can get loud inside. Appears to be a spot where locals come to get together with friends based on some of the groups around us.

We had this recommended to us because of the view of the fishing harbor. Walking into the restaurant, the fishy smell was impactful. The staff were attentive but the food was unimpressive. We don’t recommend this place.

Being vegan I can’t really speak about the seafood there. However the rest of the family enjoyed all their food and we had a great time. Restaurant views the harbor area and staff was great. Definitely recommended when you visit Seattle. Prices were reasonable.

When a company hides charges/being 100% dishonest when you pay for your bill/order, adds a $4.00 "Educational fee" for thier employees are thieves! When in the hell is it "MY" responsibility to fund your employee's education? If so, I need/demand a Social Security Number and all relevant information for tax's as required by "LAW"~

We had a birthday dinner here. The setting is informal and relaxed. Inside, it’s pretty noisy. The service was not prompt, but acceptable. Our group had a variety of dishes - halibut, salmon, cod, pasta, tacos, etc. Everyone seemed pleased with their choice. Blackberry cobbler and the mixed berry shortcake for dessert. With drinks, tax and tip, it was about $50 per person total. A good choice for a reasonable selection of seafood.

Been there serveral times over the last 10 years. A MUST when you are in Seattle. best seafood in town...

My favorite on the water restaurant in Seattle! Yes, there are trendier places that cost a lot more for a meal, but I love everything about Chinooks. While very popular I have never had a parking problem. Make a reservation as sometimes there can be a stack up of walk-ins in the lobby. As for the food it is fantastic! They start you with a moist chewy cannery bread that I always ask for more than their generous free offering. The pan fried oyster plate here is the best in town and again a generous portion for the price. Lead that off with the thick creamy clam chowder and you will be hard pressed to have room for dessert, but do not let that stop you. They have a great berry pie but I go for the lovely key lime pie. The food is all great here and the atmosphere makes it even better. Did I mention that I love this place?

Had the manila clams for a starter and a rock fish for lunch. Very tasty. Service was great and helped with our food allergy issues easily. It was quite loud but worth it.

Our local friend suggested we all go out to eat here and it didn't disappoint. While a bit more expensive than we would regularly pay for our meal it was good food and good service. The food was all well prepared and all tasted good.

We ate here twice we liked it so much. Huge place and always packed. Right on the harbor with excellent views. Service was perfect, food was well prepared and the prices reasonable. What more do you want?

I prefer my fish & chips with the freshest ling cod or halibut bathed in a tight, crisp tempura-style batter that clings well to the fish during frying. It should be accompanied by a dilly tartar sauce and a nice, well-vinegared cole slaw. This is exactly what Chinook's serves and it's why I think they have the world's best fish & chips. To be fair, I typically just step into the adjacent Little Chinook's and get it piping hot over the counter, but had some time on a recent business trip and decided to enjoy the meal in the restaurant at a nice seat overlooking the boats in the Fisherman's Terminal. Nice job staying consistent over all these years, Chinook's. Look forward to coming back when I'm in Seattle again.

No restaurant critics or writers place Chinooks on their "must or top" lists of dining in Seattle. Yet, I love this place, but I have no preconceived notions, being new to the Emerald City. I have utilized their take out window at Fisherman's Terminal, and this time I did take out from the main restaurant. Looking around, it looked like a generic, seafood chain, but Chinooks is local to the Pacific Northwest, and has a wonderful view of all the boats and ships at the Terminal. The food is always very good, and I am picky. My halibut is always delicious and my fries/chips done perfectly, just the way I asked; "extra crispy with no salt. The seasonings are fine." My wife, the true foody in the family, enjoys Chinooks also. Our visiting daughter from Minneapolis raved about her fish from Chinooks. When pandemic restrictions are lifted, and friends and family visit from Wisconsin and NYC, Chinooks will be on the "for sure" list. Maybe locals have become jaded and spoiled. Chinooks is a Seattle treasure. I can't wait to sit at the bar, enjoying a cocktail or two, while taking in both the view and the vittles.

Went for Saturday lunch with the family. The atmosphere is very casual an the prices are, too. The setting is fantastic near the fisherman terminal. Food was great: Kids had the fish n chips - best I had, and the fish and shrimp which were very good as well. I had the garlic shrimps with potatoes which were super tasty and my wife had an excellent portion of rockfish fillet. We had the strawberry shortcake for desert - so simple and good. Note that the portions are not very large in American standards - but that was just right for us. Also, service was quick. Highly recommended.

My first visit to Seattle and Chinooks did not disappoint me with their delicious fresh seafood. We shared an appetizer of fresh mussels and clams which of course we dipped their wonderful bread into the broth. I had Alaskan Salmon and my daughter had the roasted garlic crab. Wow. Our waiter Max was exceptional. This was a birthday celebration for me and the entire experience finished our day on a high note. Hope to return soon

During a recent visit to Seattle, my son took me to dinner at Chinook's. What a wonderful experience! After sharing a trio of raw oysters, I opted for black cod as my entree. I had never eaten this wonderful fish before. Black cod, or sablefish, is a white & fatty meat, with a velvety texture & a buttery flavor. It had a miso preparation which was sheer perfection. On a subsequent visit to Chinook's, I had a fresh peach ice cream, a delight to the heart of this Georgia girl. Alas, black cod was not o the menu.

Have been a number of times and it is always good. Today, perfection. Four for lunch and everyone was very happy. A good waiter, Mathew, a nice table and view, very good food. A a Louie Salad and Tempura Fish lunches. All very satisfying. The bread is to die for. The service was excellent. Very happy we came today.

We ate at Chinooks twice on a recent visit to Seattle. The salmon and fried trout were excellent. Also had oyster stew and it was very good. The lobster tail was delicious! Servers were prompt and courteous.

We visited friends in Seattle. They had a wee tugboat on Lake Union and took my wife and I up Salmon Bay. We docked at Chinook's for dinner. Chinook's is a large restaurant. As such, it won't have a homey feel, but it does offer up a grand view of the harbor which is a great backdrop for dinner (especially if you have a nice sunset). Go for (or wait for) a table by the window, rather than being cooped up on one of the inner tables. The view will be half the value of your dinner. Service can be a bit slow, especially during the dinner hour. So just chill, and have another drink. Speaking of beers (and wines) : I thought there would be a wider selection. The 'core' choices are there (eg, Rainier, Port Townsend etc), but I had imagined there would be more availability especially for the various craft beers from the region. I went for the garlic crab, and enjoyed it thoroughly. Just be aware, it'll be like a lobster dinner. Tie on that bib since it could get messy. Would definitely come back.

Halibut & Chips ($29) Halibut Peach ($39) Shellfish Combo ($17) Rockfish Tacos ($18) drinks ($57) and one dessert ($11). Tax + tip = $222.53 for four people. Service is excellent; two baskets of rolls/breads.

I've been going here for years and have enjoyed the food and relative reasonable prices. Went this week and was amazed at how much they have raised prices. A coke for $4.75 is perhaps the most expensive soft drink I've ever seen. The entrees that used to be $17 are now in the $23-25 range. I guess that's ok for some but it's a loud atmosphere and if the prices have gone upscale then I'd splurge on a nicer atmosphere. I'm not upset with the food but it no longer a more reasonably priced restaurant with a decent waterfront view. If your ok with $35-40 a person then you can dismiss my comments.

If you haven't dined here you have missed the finest seafood I have ever eaten. The setting is perfect, right next to the boats and the smell of ocean water. The service was top off the charts; thanks, Michelle O. The presentation was extraordinarily artistic, beautifully honoring the seafood. The price was fair representing the highest quality of freshness and preparation. Go now!

Chinook's used to be one of our favorite places to dine in Seattle because of the very good seafood, ample portions, decent service and terrific location at Fishermen's Terminal. After our visit in November for lunch, I have to say that only the service and location seem to be the same. Kudos to our server, who remained prompt and attentive throughout lunch, ensuring that the three in our party were taken care of in the usual good fashion that Chinook's is noted for. And the bright sunny day gave a sparkle to the nearby water, where myriad boats were docked. We enjoyed the lovely view, easily seen from the big windows near the booth, where we sat. But our meals arrived in small portions, and only one dining companion seemed satisfied with her selection -- a fish taco and a bowl of chowder. My pan-fried oysters looked more like deep-fat fried with their heavy batter, and the batter was mostly what I could taste. They came with overcooked vegetables and some kind of house potatoes that tasted like they had been sitting around for a while. My husband deemed his cioppino and Caesar salad OK but nothing special. We all shared a blackberry cobbler for dessert, however, that was absolutely delicious. No reservations are taken here, but we got seated immediately at 12:30 p.m. on a Saturday when the restaurant was half full. Plenty of free parking exists by Chinook's.

It was a beautiful Seattle day so we sat out on the patio, facing the fisherman's terminal under a large shading umbrella. From the very start, we could tell service was not going to be good. Each step in the process came with an apology for being slow, forgetting things and disappearing altogether. Since it was Sunday brunch, they automatically brought hot scones to the table. They were very good! The breakfast menu was attractive with a lot of Pacific NW ingredients. I ordered a scramble with bay shrimp and dungeness crab. When it arrived, there were lots of shrimp but no crab. When I pointed it out to our server, she argued there were stringy bits in the scramble that were the crab. I didn't see it and I looked closely. Also, I am well-acquainted with shellfish. Rather than make a federal case ofit, I let it drop. Wish I'd talked to the manager. We ordered drinks which took a long time to come. When we asked for refills...nothing. Everything we ordered tasted good so I give them 4 stars based on the food and past stellar performance. I take off one star because this was a pretty poor experience.

Chinooks is what a great seafood restaurant should be. You can get there by boat and there is free dock space right out front. Awesome! Never had a bad meal here and the photos of all the fisherman are inspiring.

We were visiting Seattle and met up with a nephew who got this recommendation from a friend. Excellent food. No waiting even on a Friday night. We did not eat salmon, but enjoyed our fish entrees. Plenty of food, very tasty.

This was a recommendation from the Hotel staff. The food was fantastic. I had the Sockeye and I was amazed. I sat at the bar to eat and the staff was very friendly and attentive. I would recommend this place to anyone who visits Seattle and wants a good meal away from the Tourist traps.

I'll give it 4 stars as the setting is so pretty. The service was good and quick but the restaurant itself is rather noisy so give it a miss if you are looking for a quiet romantic place. The food was good but I wouldn't rate it as the best as I was lead to believe. My fish and chips were rather greasy although the fish taco's our friend had was good she said. My husband had the seafood plate which he enjoyed however since everything was crumbed and deep fried it got rather too much towards the end of the plate.

Took out town guest to restaurant. Everyone enjoyed meal. Got the blackberry cobbler and guest found metal scrap in dessert. I was embarrassed. They comp us for dessert but I felt disappointed.

We were brought here by family whilst visiting Seattle. What a fabulous place. They made us feel at home immediately . Great service. Fantastic selection of fish. The peach ice cream was to die fIR. Five stars!!

Such a lovely place, great food & service! A view of fisherman's cove. Chinooks is owned by Anthony's so there's fabulous fresh seafood coming right off their ships . I went with a group (8) and our waitress was great. Decent prices, I did notice they've gone up but you can still enjoy lunch at reasonable cost. I highly recommend Chinooks it's a great Seattle/Northwest experience. Be sure to check out the fisherman's memorial on the patio over the wharf & the area around the restaraunt. 🚢

The seafood is the reason to go, and it was wonderful!! There was quite bit to choose from, and it was so very fresh, well cooked, and tasty. It's casual and a bit noisy, and it's right on the water with a great view of quite a number of private pleasure and commercial fishing craft. The servers are knowledgeable and attentive, as well.

The best seafood I've had in a very long time. Four of us had dinner & all was very pleased. Service was very good and the view of the bay was relaxing. Casual attire is acceptable. I felt the alcohol was very pricey and the overall menu is on the top of the scale however the seafood was well worth the price.

Chinook's at Salmon Bay has been a family favorite for many years. It's located in the Fishermen's Terminal and always has a variety of fresh seafood specialties. We had dinner there recently while our daughter was visiting for the holidays. The atmosphere was as inviting as ever, the service was outstanding, the food was excellent and we had another very enjoyable evening at Chinook's.

It's a large menu, but I must recommend the clams and mussels. They grow their own and they are always delectably fresh! YUMMY! You will be spoiled for the seafood houses, with few exceptions. I can think of maybe one that compares. The toasted garlic herb bread that accompanies them is a bit too rich for my taste, but that's personal taste. Friends, it can be noisy. It can be crowded. It can be really busy and take a little longer. We have never found these hindrances to be excessive -- we keep going back! It's an Anthony's Restaurant without quite the steep prices. Service is always great and there is plenty of parking and guest moorage. Restrooms and everything is clean and delightful, looking out on the marina. That's a great place for a stroll on a full stomach after lunch or dinner at Chinook's. We never miss it. There is history there in the monuments. Our favorites: Dungeness crab and shrimp fettuccine, pan fried oysters, smoked wild salmon fettuccine. They have a nice wine selection. I'm partial to one of their Pinot Grigios and a Merlot by the glass. My wife has enjoyed some of their designer cocktail creations. Well, having written this, I'm craving to go to Chinook's again this weekend! See you there!

Great small plate of seared oysters & a Negroni started this solo lunch on a spring sunny Friday afternoon perfectly. A small Oregon shrimp louis followed. And the view is quintessential Seattle. Full lunch crowd. Can be noisy. Timothy is an excellent waiter.

They did an excellent job with our large party. Our waiter was fantastic getting everyone's drink in a timely manner and keeping them filled. Our meals came out very quickly. I will say it is very loud in here so tough to hear with a large group. Also be aware the shrimp on the salads are tiny shrimp. We were expecting larger grilled shrimp but understand it is a regional thing. We would go back.

We go there quite a lot. Food and service are always good. We usually eat in the bar area and eat many of the plates they offer.

Ten of us celebrated a family event at this great seafood restaurant. Nice seating area for a large group. Good waiter, excellent fresh catch and blue plate special. Try the garlic prawns with asparagus and potatoes. Desserts are delicious.

Wow! Great atmosphere Beautiful view Outstanding food Good service Blue plate cod Jersey chowder Wow!

Our group loves to go to Chinooks after hiking in Discovery Park. Four of us had the "blue plate special" = Cod with potatoes and broccoli, and chowder beforehand. We really enjoyed the meal, and our other friends had other lunch items. Great focaccia bread, and excellent chowder.

I had lunch today with a friend at Chinook's. The staff was friendly and solicitous and the food (I had the wild salmon with fettuccine) was very delicious. A wonderful dining experience with excellent views of the marina.

We were here for lunch on a UW game day. The place was packed with Huskies fans, which added a very festive atmosphere. In spite of how busy it was, we were seated quickly. (They offer a party boat shuttle from the marina to the stadium on campus.) The servcie was extremely efficient. Our food was served promptly. I had an oyster po-boy, which was phenomenal. My husband had the salmon pot pie, which he enjoyed very much. (I tried it; it was delish!) I don't remember what my son had, but he really enjoyed his meal. We did not have room for dessert, but the items on the menu were very tempting. My only complaint is that this place is a bit pricey for what you get. So, we would probably only return for a special occasion.

These restaurants are awesome and it doesn’t change no matter which one we have gone to and whether it’s the first or the twentieth. They are consistently very good in all aspects. There isn’t anything to complain about every time we visit. Until that changes, I am not changing where I go to get seafood when I am in Seattle.

Read the review from others and really looked forward after visiting the Locks, and was deeply disappointed comparing to so many other Seattle seafood places that even the Pub seafood was more satisfying. Good wait staff was the only good thing here. Weak cocktail drink. So so gooey chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream that was served so sloppy, I couldn’t even bother to take a picture. The fish taco was not even as good as a standard Grey’s Dog Taco served in Manhattan from the pub, even though Seattle supposedly has much better tasting seafood to flatter anyone. My garlic shrimp can’t compare to the broil shrimp purchased straight from Pike Market with just a cocktail sauce. I had to add Parmesan cheese to add some Emeril Lagassi BANG just to make it slightly more palatable. Italian style garlic fresh shrimp is generally so tasty it can’t go wrong but here it did even with fresh shrimp. The only tastier food here was its fries served with children meal, and the potato cubes with herbs served with the shrimp dish. Sigh. Disappointing. Not returning. Waste of money.

We stopped in during lunch with my cousin who lives in the area. The place was very busy for lunch, but we were seated very quickly. Our server was at the table within a minute or so taking drinks orders. We all ended up ordering the Daily Blue Plate Special. The New England Style clam chowder was outrageous very, very good! Then came the Garlic Baked Prawns Scampi style. A large quantity of perfectly cooked shrimp with a nice garlic butter sauce. The broiled red potatoes were cooked correctly as well as the green beans. It was a outstanding lunch on a very busy day!

We had a group of 7 together for a good-bye dinner. Everyone greatly enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Great service, and they allowed us to hang around longer than usual without pressure. Each entree was appreciated by the group. I was sorry that the usual crab & shrimp fettuccine pasta wasn't unavailable, but the alternative of seafood fettuccine pasta was very good. One late-arriving member of our group loved the strawberry shortcake.

Really great location, only to be outdone by the food. It's located at Fisherman's Terminal in Seattle, the Ballard area; you can't ask for much more. Then there's the food; oysters, clams, shrimp/prawns, cod, and don't forget the salmon. As others have noted, it was crowded, but we managed to finagle a table outside. An early evening in Seattle, in July, you have to sit outside. I went with the shrimp scampi, the wife went for the salmon. We both ended up sharing. Ha. A bit pricey, maybe, but as long as you don't go every night....... Very enjoyable.

Had lunch with my son this past week. The food and atmosphere were good. My son loved his fish and chips. I had the shrimp gumbo & Caesar lunch special, while the gumbo was very tastey I was taken aback by the size of the shrimp, instead of small or medium shrimp they were the tiny shrimp( like from a can), was a little disappointed with that. The service was good and the bread was yummy.

I ordered the crab legs. They were delicious but the green beans & potatoes that came with it were lacking. We sat outside & the weather was great. Service was ok. Our server seemed swamped. We were able to get right in with no reservation on a Sunday evening. It’s located at Fisherman’s Terminal.

This is always a must stop for us if we are in town. Its a little out of the way from downtown but well worth the trip. This review is for "little Chinooks" which is a café style setup where you order from the counter and seat yourself with your food. A relatively small menu but it has what you will need for a quick bite. The boston chowder is our "go to" item and has never let us down. We also have tried the clams and prawns.....also a thumbs up. If a more formal setting is what you with there is a sit down restaurant that is the main restaurant for called "Chinooks".

lovely view, freshest fish, beautiful food, unpretentious friendly service. highly recommended, will return

When you request food from this restaurant, everything comes out fresh and cooked to order. Very friendly staff. Boston Clam chowder was hot (not lukewarm) and flavorful, definitely a plus. The blackened halibut was probably hands down, the best halibut I’ve had in a long time. The salmon could’ve come out a little more piping hot (a friendly suggestion), but it was still good. Overall, not a bad restaurant thus far. I recommend this restaurant for quality seafood so don’t shy away from a good meal.....

Great to sit by the windows and look out over Fisherman's Terminal. We enjoyed the Fish & Chips, the Ballard Burger, and the Blue Plate Special (rockfish). Good wines and not terribly expensive. Treat yourself!

I met friends for dinner in Seattle. I got to choose the restaurant and my first thought was Chinooks! Fabulous seafood. My salmon was tender and tasty! Can’t wait to go there again!

Each June my brother and I wrap up a visit with dinner at Chinook's. They just reopened the dining room and it's still great, even if the menu is more limited right now. This year I enjoyed a blue plate special with clam chowder. My brother went for sockeye, Caesar salad and clam chowder. Be sure to leave room for the bread and dessert!

The hubby and I were in Seattle recently and wanted some delicious seafood. Looking to try a new restaurant we ended up at Chinooks. Luckily it was a beautiful and warm sunny day so we were seated out on the patio. The down side to this was the patio was full and there were only 2 servers......so service was a bit slow. We ordered drinks and appetizers.....my drink was easy, water...but hubby ordered a beer (and because it was also happy hour) it took awhile to get to him. I had a question for our server about the appetizers....."what are shrimp shooters?" My idea was a piece of shrimp in a shot glass with cocktail sauce...but I still asked. He was not real clear but did mention shrimp in sauce so I ordered it. Hubby ordered the clam chowder. My appetizer came and consisted of 3 small shot type glasses filled with small salad shrimp mixed with cocktail sauce and chunks of celery. I wasn't impressed and really didn't like anything about it but I did try it! When our server came back to take our order he noticed and asked if something was wrong with the shrimp shooters....I explained they were not what I expected and I didn't care for them....he promptly took them away and apologized. He said he would remove them fromt he bill to which I replied that wasn't necessary could i just have a small dinner salad to replace those? He said absolutely. He was gone again.....and next thing I know our dinner is being served by the other server. So when our server came back by, I flagged him down and said "don't worry about the salad" because my dinner was already here. On to the dinner: my hubby ordered the tempura battered halibut and chips....he didn't talk much after his dinner came because it was delicious and he focused on that. I ordered the crab cakes ginger plum sauce.....all I can say is, these were the best crab cakes I've ever had! So light, so delicious and no filler! Just beautiful and tasty crab! The side potatoes and asparagus were equally delicious! My husband ordered dessert that included ice cream....that had me concerned but I wasn't going to deter him.....but my concerns were founded.....our server didn't get to his dessert in a speedy fashion and when it was delivered the ice cream was a puddle around his cake. All in all, would I go back...absolutely!!!! Maybe not at happy hour and hopefully with a different server.....but the food was amazing and worth a visit!

the ambiance, the clam chowder, the salmon, the freshness of all the ingredients. Loved every minute of this wonderful meal overlooking the water.

Fantastic food, drink, service, and atmosphere. We dined on the outdoor patio, but inside atmosphere was equally nice. Great views from everywhere. The food was perfect. All of our orders were correct and absolutely delicious. We highly recommend this place. I wish we had gotten the servers name so we could acknowledge him, he was great!!

Chinook has been one of our favorite restaurants in Seattle, love the location, always had good service, and the drinks and food top notch. Recently we invited another couple to join us for lunch, and we were disappointed. The fish tacos were just ordinary, the clams/mussels in broth were not very warm, and the drinks rye manhattan s were $15 (14.95), far more than I have paid anywhere in Seattle. I mentioned this to the manager, and he said the only rye they had was that expensive. Will we go back, probably, but no rye manhattns!

This might be a good place for seafood, but I can not recommend it for breakfast. On the positive side, the coffee was very good, as was the scones. My omelet was dry, the potatoes barely cooked and my wife's eggs were severely undercooked.

Could not love this restaurant more. We brought our children here 30 years ago and were back in town taking our grandchild this time. Wonderful service. There were 7 of us and everyone loved their meals (salmon taco with chowder was perfect). So accommodating with an antsy toddler, just pleasant workers at every turn and with an awesome view too. Only slight disappointment is there are no brunch offerings right now, apparently due to low staffing I was told. I hope that can come back eventually. Don’t forget to order the slump that is in season. Perfect share item for the table. So glad to see this place is just as great as we remembered.

Very good food. Prices were high. Plenty of food on the menu to choose from. Could eat outside on the patio and watch the boats.

Uber to chinooks at salmon bay for sunday brunch. Fisherman's scramble and salmon cake and eggs were amazing. Truly impressed with freshness and restaurant uses local farm products. Best salmon cake I have ever eaten.

We had a lovely time at Chinooks with friends. We got there early which was just as well because the restaurant filled up quickly. A great meal was enjoyed by us all. Well worth the visit.

We only had chowder and fries. Fries were just okay - could have made them at home. But the chowder was the best we had in Seattle - and we had it at several places while visiting. Perfectly seasoned, just enough, potatoes and clams - and extremely creamy. We all burned ourselves trying to eat it.

3 of us loved our meals. D-I-L who doesn't ordinarily like seafood had the salmon tacos on corn tortillas (to be gluten free) & she loved them. I had grilled shrimp - very good. Son had fish & chips. Will all be going back.

Outside of the main restaurant is a smaller area dedicated to fish and chips. Try the Halibut and chips -- perfectly cooked with a very light fry. And looking outside at Fisherman's Terminal you know the fish is fresh! Visit Wild Salmon next door while you are there to take home fresh fish -- also worth the drive to this area. No table service, but friendly staff at the register.

We wanted a restaurant with fresh seafood and waterfront access. Chinook's has an old style and family friendly ambiance. Service was excellent. Food tasted good, as average but it is a bit pricey and so I expected more flavors in the meal. Shrimp pasta had tiny shrimps and sauce didn't sit well, though it tasted good. Desert was excellent.

Didn’t want a big meal so just got two pieces of cod. They were small but priced fairly. Fantastic fish!! Fully recommend!

I can't recommend this place enough. the Chowder is OUT of this world as well is all the food we had. It was so delicious we went 2 out of our 3 days in Seattle! Servers are awesome the place is always busy so you know im not the only one who loves it! This is a MUST TRY!

Came here with 6 co-workers for dinner while at a conference in Seattle & we all had a great time. Got there at 5:30 & happy hour was until 6, perfect! Ordered the boneless wings & a Scuttlebutt Pale Ale to start & both were great! Wanted fresh fish & chowder & they were available together on the Blue Plate Special. Nice cod with a creamy dill & red onion topping. Would definitely go again!

We went with a party of 6 and were given a table by the window viewing all the fishing boats preparing for the spring. I ordered the fresh Pan Fried Rainbow Trout which they prepare perfectly with a very light touch and no after taste of the frying technique. It came with herb red potatoes & a variety of vegetables-excellent meal. My party indulged with the Crab Louie, the salmon burgers and fresh fish taco's and they gave each rave reviews. Our waiter was quick & efficient even when one member spilled his beer they were there in a flash cleaning it up & getting him another to replace it. The design is set so all tables have an opportunity of viewing the wharf and the fishing boats. I would highly recommend this restaurant for fresh local seafood and produce, experienced, friendly wait staff and great atmosphere!

It was a beautiful day in Seattle,so we were able to have lunch on the patio overlooking the marina. The food was very good as was the service. We had lunch with a friend we had not seen in 5 years, and no one rushed us to leave, which we appreciated. I had the blue plate special-delicios! The chowder that came with it beats Pike Place Chowder, which I love,so that is a compliment. The restaurant does not feel " touristy" ,more like a local hangout. Will be back the next time we are in Seattle!

We went to Chinook's for a drink in the afternoon after circling around Magnolia. The place is huge but we were seated away from the windows. It was not crowded but with just our drinks there was not much money to earn. The service then was alright and the drinks were good. Although it is relatively high priced there are screens with sports.

We stopped off here on our tour and had a little bowl of Clam Chowder for Breakfast. Absolutely yummy. Would love to have dined in the restaurant.

Sitting outside is a must. Prawns Tempura Dinner ($29); Halibut n' chips ($31) and Rockfish Salsa Fresca ($26); Salad with grilled chicken ($ 13) plus drinks before tip for 4 people $ 152.29.

So, I love seafood--I grew up in MD with oysters and blue crabs, and then lived in Fl with some of the best fish one could ever have. I was excited to try west coast, cold water fish. I had halibut before, but the waiter suggested it because it was the first of the season. If you are reading this and they offer halibut right now, stop what you are doing and go get some! It is so soft, perfectly seasoned and when your fork touches it, it softly breaks apart. So good! We did a split plate between my husband and I of the halibut because we got soup and appetizers too. I was not a fan of the king crab cakes, I like the crab meat, but I love my blue crab roots---this isn't the restaurant's fault at all. It was cooked perfectly and served with a sauce, this was an item not on the appetizer menu that our waiter suggested. We also had clam chowder, I've never had clam chowder much but we wanted to have it since it is big in Seattle. It was delicious. I highly recommend the white chowder it is creamy and seasoned perfectly. We did not have dessert. Oh, the restaurant could use better pre-dinner bread. It wasn't very good. The waiter we had worked there for 12 years and he was so knowledgeable about what to order and gave us Seattle information etc. Super nice guy! Make sure to ask for a seat near the window--stunning view of the water and ships. A++ food and staff.

This is my favorite restaurant in the world. There is no better place to get seafood anywhere. It’s located right on the Seattle waterfront (Salmon Bay). The fishing boats are tied up just behind the restaurant. The food and the service is world class. Okay, it’s also big, loud, crowded, busy and a bit hectic. But you won’t find better halibut, salmon, or Dungeness crab anywhere. Period. And the prices are more than reasonable, for what you’re getting. You can watch the cooks do their magic, or stroll around the place admiring the photos of the commercial fishermen bringing in their catch. This is a “can’t miss” restaurant whenever you’re in the Emerald City. It’s an experience you won’t forget.

We love this restaurant for family dinners. The view of the boats moored and coming and going is great, and the seafood is always so fresh and delicious. Fun to stroll around the boat docks before or after a meal. They also have a lovely outdoor patio for nice weather days.

Went last night on the recommendation of a local and very glad we did. It was a busy Sunday evening but we only waited 15 minutes for a nice booth with a view. Hats off to our excellent server Oliver who gave great suggestions, very generous samples and a wonderful, friendly attitude. We started off with calamari, whIch was definitely above average. Darned good clam chowder.I hate to admit in Seattle that salmon isn’t my favorite fish but I told Oliver I wanted to give it a try again. He suggested the silver salmon which was delicious, mild and now I am a convert! It came with green beans, nothing special, but nicely cooked, along with potatoes. The meals were served with a very nice, dense garlic bread. Husband had cioppino which he rated very good. My sons had seafood marinara pasta and fish and chips. Fish and chips good, fish good with nice batter but fries not the best. We left very happy with the restaurant', felt it was a good value for the food and experience and would definitely return on our next trip to Seattle.

Classic, delicious seafood. Great drinks. Fun. Great views and friendly waitstaff. Perfect place for classic seafood lunch or dinner. Casual.

This nice restaurant has ample free parking out front and has beautiful waterfront dining. Sit here watch some boats, birds and the calm waters as you dine. We had the salmon fish and chips and the salmon tacos. The fish and chips were excellent (maybe a tad salty) and the salmon in the tacos was delicious, but the rest of the taco was OK. The service was friendly and attentive. We'd definitely come back here again.

FOOD One of the best seafood serving places in Seattle. Their seafood preparations are delicious. We had ordered tacos and fish & chips. Do try their milkshakes - they are simply amazing and filling! SERVICE Although the place was full, our server was prompt enough. We did not have to wait for a long time to get served. AMBIANCE This place overlooks the marina and has a lively "marina" feeling. Its a nice place to catch up with friends on a fine evening but its always crowded. You may have to wait to get seated.

We came to have dinner on a Friday night and were seated by the windows. We had the best server. He was friendly, helpful and made sure that we received the orders correctly. We had asked for a couple of changes. I had the Blue Plate Special. Even though that sounds like cafeteria food, it was not! It was True Cod and it was cooked to perfection. Such a good blend of flavors with the sour cream and dill cooked on the fresh tasting cod. The vegetables were also cooked to perfection - not overdone. The other diners were also pleased with their selections. Our server offered dessert to celebrate birthday, but we were going to be having birthday cake at home. He even asked if we needed any candles for that cake. I have been to Chinooks several times for weekend breakfasts, so it was fun to check out the dinner selections. If you go there during the day, hopefully you can get seated by the window.

Beautiful view, remarkable service, and outstanding service. Oh, and the prices are quite reasonable! I had the scampi and the red chowder (both gluten free) and haven’t had a better meal with better service anywhere. We highly recommend it.

Really enjoyed our visit here, actually a friendly tip from a Seattle local when we spoke downtown earlier in the day. Arrived by taxi and we were seated quickly for dinner (quite early at 6pm and on a Mon evening, but still very busy). Amazing view across the working harbour. Essentially split into two halves, a bar area (with food menu) and a main restaurant area. We sat in main restaurant and had excellent service throughout. Recommend the all-you-can-eat fish and chips (includes a very tasty coleslaw). Halibut also great! Highly recommended!

Service, food and environment all great. Seafood fresh and frozen cod blue plate special excellent. Mussels really great.

The seafood was great. Friendly service and setting. Located on the water and marina. Could watch boats come and go. Great setting for us land-locked visitors.

I was in Seattle on a hard journey taking care of my very sick brother. My first night there, my cousin and I enjoyed our first meal of that trip at this place. She had AMAZING salmon tacos - seriously, AMAZING. I had a linguini with clams y mussels and it was just good compared to hers LOL I mean, I thoroughly enjoyed it, but the salmon tacos were O... M... G... good! And while the staff thoroughly adhered to pandemic protocol (which we were both super grateful for) they still provided 1st class service and attention to detail for each of us. Will definitely return on future trips.

I took my husband here for a waterfront dinner on his birthday and we enjoyed every moment! From the Manhattan chowder, to the fresh garlic bread, to the crab and shrimp linguine, to the fresh cooked halibut! What a meal! The staff was very friendly and the tables were spread apart enough for us to feel comfortable in taking our masks off for dinner. Definitely a place to go back to for local cuisine!

This is a great little restaurant for a date or a couple, comfortable, a good wine selection and quiet so you can actually converse with the other person. Recommended.

My family stopped here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. All of our meals were excellent. My Salmon bowl was superb, and the huckleberry crisp was very tasty. Service was excellent also.

visitors and locals love the location and selection..great views, very good seafood, burgers and salad..I have been a regular customer several years and have always enjoyed my meal..next door is little chinooks which is great for a quick meal or takeout, same very good quality

I eat here every time I visit this area for work. The food is always great and beautiful view!! The fresh halibut is my favorite!! Highly recommend!

We had friends visiting from Scotland and knew this was the perfect restaurant to show them Seattle. We were a large group, including a baby and toddler. The staff could not have been more accommodating! Our friends were blown away by the view, the food, and the service. As always, the bread was a hit. We appreciate how you went out of your way to make our friends feel most welcome!!

Outstanding fresh seafood at reasonable prices at Fisherman’s Terminal. View of the marina housing the Seattle fishing fleet. Welcoming knowledgeable staff. Fresh catch list and wonderfully presented food. Seasonal desserts and beers. Frequently visit this restaurant for a guaranteed good time and good food!

Absolutely delicious! The salmon was wonderful but so were the sides and bread. The view is wonderful as well, all in all a wonderful experience.

I forgot how much I liked this restaurant! We had family visiting from Arizona and decided to have dinner here primarily for the scenery (docked boats). Our party of seven were seated quickly and fresh focaccia bread was brought to our table. Excellent view of the boats and water from our inside table. The service was excellent, with our server being polite and attentive during our visit. I got the salmon sandwich which was excellent, followed by an ice cream sundae for dessert. Others in my party ordered oysters, fish and chips, clam strips, and other seafood that I can't remember. We all had a great meal and a good time. My wife and I need to come back for a weekend breakfast.

This restaurant was the go-to place for us when family was in town. While corporately owned, it had a neighborhood feel to it. The food and service were reliable. The prices have climbed in the last 12 months and are up over 50% in the last five years. I don't mind paying money for good food--but the trout is not worth $25.00. The cod fish and chips should not be $22. This is not worth it--it is not that type of restaurant. Service is still good but the next time family comes to town, we will go elsewhere.

Base on TripAdvisor customers good reviews , six of us had lunch here, we were very disappointed, the crab and shrimp cocktail was not fresh at all.

Great view of the waterfront. Second visit there and had the same meal. Halibut Fish and Chips. The reurn experience was as good as the first.

When my husband asked me where I wanted to go to eat for Mother's Day, for some reason Chinook's came to mind. We found out they didn't take reservations, so we went at a time we didn't think they'd be too busy. We arrived at 1:30 and only had to wait for 30 minutes. Believe me, on Mother's Day we have waited at other venues for over an hour. We both love fish, so I ordered the salmon fish & chips and my husband ordered the cod fish & chips. Our food arrived and did NOT disappoint! Chinook's is now my favorite place (stateside - NO ONE Beats Red Fish Blue Fish in Victoria, BC.) for fish & chips! They have the perfect crust to fish ratio, with tender, tasty fish inside! Their coleslaw is topped with poppyseed dressing which is delightful. And the chips are crispy and have a scrumptious taste! The view of the peaceful harbor adds a beautiful ambiance that is irresistible!

Good service. Friendly, very helpful staff. Clam chowder very good. Oysters OK. BUT, $13.25 for a Bombay Sapphire Martini which was served tepid and definitely watered down. Possibly the worst martini I've ever been served. I recommend a Beer if you want a beverage with alcohol

Great seats, great view, and a fantastic lunch! The menu was expansive and met the desires of each person in our party, service was quick and very attentive, and the lunch (all entrees as well as desserts) were outstanding! I was truly impressed with our server who brought extra spoons for sharing the dessert. Next Seattle trip? We'll be returning!

Chinooks has always been my favorite Seattle Restaurant. We have been there many times over the last 25 - 30 years and never been disappointed! I always order "The Blue Plate Special." The preparation of the cod is so delicious! I substitute a green salad with blue cheese dressing & homemade croutons for the cup of chowder. Always fresh and perfectly dressed! We love the Fisherman's bread, along with a glass of House Chardonnay! The chefs always deliver the same level of perfection every time we visit! We truly love the experience! Thank you so very much! See you soon! Summer is just around the corner and time for your delicious huckleberry or rhubarb slump!

We had a table of 6 and the manager made sure we had a good set up and table location, since most tables are made for four tops and booths, but with notice they will make sure you’re taken care of. Our waiter has been here for 28 years and it shows in his professionalism, knowledge of the food and preparation and all around great service. A really great guy. Also great is the setting; seeing the boats moored on the docks, both pleasure and working craft is a delight. The food is always good here, the Caesar dressing is one of the best in Seattle in my opinion; very balanced flavors. The crab cakes are pretty amazing, almost no filler, just all fresh crab and done with a very light panko-type crust and the two sauces very satisfying. The ling cod is also a good plate and their deep fried food is not greasy and nicely crunchy. All in all a very consistently good experience. Really nice staff and well trained. Not to noisy and a great view of the moorage. Good for couples, families, parties, friends or even by yourself, good atmosphere.

We decided to celebrate our last night in seattle by enjoying seafood! This place did not disappoint! Our server, Yan, was amazing! He went above and beyond!

We've been going to Chinook's for seafood, and, given its location and great view of Seattle's commercial fishing fleet, it’s been a "go to" restaurant for out-of-town visitors for years. They’ve done a good job of keeping the quality of the food and service up for the most part. Finally had an opportunity to go for breakfast this Sunday morning, and have to say, a bit disappointed. Menu looked great, decided to go off the farm and order some good old comfort food, Biscuits and Gravy, with poached eggs. They still serve scones as a starter, a nice touch. Would have been nicer if we didn't have to chase our waiter down for a coffee refill (not, they weren't that busy, no one was waiting to be seated). When our food finally arrived, it was barely warm. My gravy was an overly-thick starchy paste, the tiny poached eggs were cold, like they have been precooked and quickly dunked in hot water to re-heat. View is still great, but as a breakfast place, not worth a 2nd visit, lots of good breakfast choices in Seattle.

We visited Sunday 9/29 at about 5pm.This restaurant is a big, wide open, bright and bustling sea food restaurant. Our food was really great and our server- Oliver-was simply outstanding. He is a true pro. When I go back to Seattle, I am definitely going to visit Chinook’s.

Chinook’s was recommended to us by our Uber driver and it was fabulous!! My husband thought his Alaskan Halibut Fish and Chips was the best he had ever eaten!

Great food and service. Liked it so well went back the next night rather than fight the crowds at Pike Market and one of their restaurants

Visited on our way through Seattle with friends who live there, party of 6, great venue by the water. Menu was expansive, the waiter was very informative with recommendations and kept us up to date when there was a little delay. Had wild salmon taco with chowder and shared a shrimp Caesar ... all commented their meals were delicious.

Love their clam chowder! But most items are a bit overpriced in our opinion. One time I had the salmon and it was overcooked. The view is lovely, and the service is attentive. So if you want to impress your guests, it's still a good option. Otherwise, I'm sure there are comparable restaurants that are nicer on your wallet.

We ate outside at "Little Chinook’s," the walk-up version. The food was only good, nothing special. The cod was fried a bit too much. The sides were bland. The chowder was too thin and bland. Maybe the larger restaurant is better rather than this walk-up version. Don't know. Only had one chance to find out.

I have eaten The best Alaskan cod fish ever - very delicious tastes with good vegetables and potatoes. We will definitely come back.

Don’t get here often but when I do, the food never disappoints. Three of us dined for lunch today. One really enjoyed the tempura prawns. Another had the fish and chips...always a favorite. And the rockfish tacos were also very good.

If you love to eat fresh seafood, this is the place for you! Great menu, service and location! I highly recommend this place if you're in Seattle!

Visiting Geocaching.com Headquarters from North Dakota and asked for a lunch recommendation. They recommended Chinook's. Great food and drink and right on the water front. There was also a geocache to be found 300' away. I will be sure to eat here again when I get back to Seattle. Enjoyed the fish and chips, fresh peach lemonade and the "Peach Slump" for dessert.

A friend and I were looking for a light lunch and decided to go to Chinook's outside café. We tried the salmon and halibut fish and chips. Each piece of fish is dipped in their light batter right before the deep fat fryer. Both were moist and very flavorful. The fries were also good.

We were here for dinner as we love seafood. Crab. Scrimps and Oysters were all very good. Excellent service.

We visited to celebrate Father's day. We were a party of 9 so it took a while to seat us. The food was excellent. I had fish tacos. Modestly priced. Great views from our table.

Located along the wharf in Seattle, this restaurant offers fresh seafood. It tends to be crowded and noisy so conversation will be at a minimum. We came with quite a large group and with reservations they were able to accommodate us in a small room. While we didn’t sit st the same table, we were all seated In the same area. . Water glasses were kept full and bread was offered while we decided on our meal. I ordered the fish taco which came with bits of mango, slaw and tortilla chips. My friend ordered the salmon taco. Both were very good. The tortilla shell is soft wheat and hefty. Service was great and prices are mid range. Plenty of parking.

Found this restaurant via Tripadvisor.?absolutely great place to go. Servants are very good and food is great. Ambiance at harbour is nice too.

The food was great, as was the service! Our waitress was so attentive and tended to our every wish! We had a member of our group who had special dietary needs and she made trips back to the kitchen to ensure our needs were met! I highly recommend Chinook's when visiting Seattle!

We spent $69 on two fish & chips, two iced teas and one peach daiquiri. That is way too much. Service was very good, the food was good, the view of Fisherman's Terminal was enjoyable. Next time we'll go to the walk-up, fast casual part of the restaurant where prices are better.

seafood is good, service was great, prices were reasonable. The clam and mussels appetizer was excellent. salmon and oysters were both very good.

In Seattle the day before leaving on a cruise and decided to try Chinook’s for dinner. Uber’d from our Downtown Seattle hotel to the restaurant for about $10+tip for the family of 4. Arrived around 6 pm on a Friday night and got seated immediately. We expected the place to be busier for Friday at dinner. Waiter was polite but could have been more attentive. We had to request drink refills a couple of times and had to request the complimentary bread after we saw another party get seated near us and were brought a basket of bread right away. The restaurant was not packed and the waiter didn’t seem to be overly busy so not sure why the service was below par. The waiter definitely took away from the experience and the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars. The food was very good and prices where not a bargain but what I would expect. It seemed you could see the water from just about any table in the place. It was a little loud but expected that after reading other reviews. Dress is casual. No reservations needed.

Rockfish Tacos with peach salsa from Little Chinook’s takeout window and for on the boat is pure perfection! Perfect way to end a day on Lake Union!

The entrance and waiting area inside is covered with action pictures from the fisheries that Seattle is known for. Fishermen at sea, windy and frosty conditions to catch and capture from the oceans; many stories being shared. The expectations were on the rise while we walked by the kitchen area to find or seats. The warm welcome from a friendly staff was promising. The dining area is not modern or high tech: a feel of large almost industrial space in a building with large windows to the nearby harbor with boats and plenty to observe. Nicely and clean seating are. Then menue is for sure filled with seafood, and a special recommendation for the day. The fresh bread pre starter; warm, salty, perfect made. We ordered several starters for sharing; scallops, shrimps, cesarean salad, kalimari, and several ordered the soup. Only one thing to say; enjoy. The main dishes? Good variation on the menu, I had alaskan cod served baked with a sour cream (not ideal creme for my taste), but the fish below was perfect. And based on the feedback from my fellow friends; the lobsters, the salmon, the crab and the rest - nice when people get quiet simply enjoying the multiple tastes and eating silently before the conversations of satisfaction are evolving. The desserts? No idea - we're too stuffed and happy to find space for more after the mains hence need to come back and complete the meal another time!

if you want the typical, generic american seafood restaurant, you've found it. The price isn't cheap, but you get what you expect

It was a great restaurant. there were 6 of us and we sat at a round table which was great for conversation. Our waiter was very attentive. Food was so good.

The food was excellent, wait staff was friendly and helpful with recommendations, and the view was exceptional. I can't wait to go back!

Positives: We had a party of 17 people who were celebrating a birthday. We were at a comfortable table. The waiter was friendly and efficient and other waiters helped him appropriately. Excellent service for such a big group. The location is on the water front, though not particularly memorable. Food was served promptly. We did not have a long wait despite the large size of the party. There was a baby in the group. The waiter did a very good job accommodating the mom's needs. Other comments: I don't know how everyone in the party felt but at least three of us were disappointed with our meals. I had the crab and shrimp fettuccine. The sauce was tasteless and watery. The appetizer, a breaded seafood, was also dull. Mostly breading. Prices are moderately high, typical of the Anthony's chain that this establishment belongs to.

We come every few years - do not live in Seattle - and the service and food is still good. The atmosphere is very friendly and the location is excellent. Our server was very good. Couldn’t ask for better. We love the bread in the baskets. We had the Blue Plate Special - the Chowder is absolutely the best - Tempura and Oysters. The Oysters were over done, but everything else was perfect. We’ll be back.

Nice setting (great view), excellent service -- the food was quite good but by no means outstanding. That said, the huckleberry desserts were outrageously good!! I'd certainly consider returning on subsequent visits to Seattle.

The bread is fantastic. The cocktail was poor. The peach dessert disappointing since the peaches seemed bottled. Nice view of harbor.
Casual place to go for good seafood!
My family has been going to Chinook's for years. The seafood is great and there is plenty of parking.
