delicious food and great service!

By mtbraucht81 |

I've never had hot pot before but this place was GREAT! Our server was so super helpful and explained everything to us. Everything we ate was delicious, and so were the pineapple mojitos. It was a little on the expensive side (we are definitely budget travelers) but it was nice to splurge while in Vegas.

Great food, fun atmosphere!

By OregonChickie |

More than a hot pot! You can pick items off a conveyor belt or order off the menu. The meat selection is great. Atmosphere is low key and customer service was great. Location is a little "interesting" but don't let that detour you. Also, a little on the spendy side.

really a new experience for me

By 77mockmotorspitcher |

local friend took me here for dinner and it was fun to cook everything in your pot....sure glad i got the tomato pot as my friend ordered the hellish pot medium and he had a hard time....helpful hint for novices like me cook a little at a time!....we ordered the meat platter and seafood platter....the seafood platter was beautiful to the eye and cooked nicely in the broth..the veggie platter can be skipped order the mushroom plate instead. ...also if your big guy like me dont sit at the common table wait ok....cant wait to come back in the fall....job well done!

Good choice for hot pot

By Pagnozziworldwide |

Place does a great job with hot pot. lots of selections and add ons. I will say the hot pot is good, but it is still not on the same level as being called authentic. Nice side bar to add condiments to broth and the combo orders are generous in size. Friendly staff who were eager to be helpful. Price reflects the fact that this place has been featured on several programs - might be a little bit too high for quality. Overall though a fun experience and worth the time.

Go for the experience but careful, can get pricey

By SBVegasAdventures |

The concept here is that you will be provided raw meat and vegetables to cook in hot broth at your table. It can be quite tasty depending on what you order. It can also be quite pricey depending on what you order. Al la carte menu starts at $1 for some and much more for top beef or seafood. Few of us went and easily had $50 of food per person. Plus tip you're looking at close to $200 for three. This is not a place you go to get full, it is a place you go with friends for the experience. Service was great and food was fresh so no complaints there.

Yummy

By Judy L |

I went with a friend who is from Hong Kong who recommended this. What a great experience! Everything we ordered was fabulous! The service was spot on. We ordered off the menu. When your soup Liguria needs refilling I’d recommend you refill with the hot water offered as it tends to be too salty if you put in more broth. This was my friend’s recommendation and I did not listen!

Cook your own food as your taste

By Arshed R |

Little cramped place, but you will forget when you are starting to cook your food. Service is phenomenal. They will help you how to cook the food. Food is very tasty, but you have to pick the item you want to cook. Very reasonable price. I recommend to visit this place when your in Las Vegas.

Wonderful à la carte hot pot place with great interior design and ambience!

By Rachel Wang |

Wonderful à la carte hot pot place with great interior design and ambience! Ordered the tomato oxtail soup base and plate of wagyu brisket ($10.99). Super nice to be able to see other dishes on the conveyor belt that you can just get. They also have cool benefits that come with buying their NFT and have a Discord to join. Link is chubbycattle.io

Hot Pot

By stacyvalentino7 |

One of the best places in Las Vegas to get some hot pot! They even have a happy hour for the revolving belt of meat, vegetables and noodles. There is a bar full of different sauces where you can make your own concoctions. I'd recommend asking for an egg and putting some sauces. Might sound weird but it's bomb! You choose your own soup base. One dislike that I have about the spicy soup base is that here are too many red rectangle pepper things. I honestly don't know what it's called, but every time I tried to scoop out some meat, I got some of those things along with it too which was kind of annoying. Servers were polite and our drinks were refilled. They have a TV where they had the game playing. Pretty nice modern interior decor. Parking can be hard to find in this plaza, but it has always been this way. When there's a will, there's a way. Usually I will find a parking spot even if it is super busy.

Good Hotpot Experience

By Frequently Dehydrated |

Much like the hotpot experience and taste in China, you can't go wrong choosing this place to restore the taste of China (maybe this review only applies to Chinese people?) On our trip, we arrived at around 4 pm, it was not crowded at all. But one disappointment is that they don't have some authentic Chinese ingredients, such as ya-chang, yao-pian, nao-hua, and on our visit, their mao-du is also sold out. However, the spicy soup was good, and they got enough ingredients for customizing your own dip-dish.

Best Hotpot in the USA

By David Z |

As a hot pot/shabu shabu enthusiast who has traveled to China and Japan in search for the best tasting hot pot spots, chubby cattle is definitely a gem in the West. For someone who's not a hotpot junkie, this place will definitely take you by surprise and win a spot on your top 3 favorite cuisines. The four most important ingredients to a successful hot pot join are their soup base, freshness of raw ingredients and vegetables, dipping sauces, and the misc. Dishes/drinks that are available to compliment your meal. Chubby cattle have all 4 of these cornerstones covered with: soup bases that are amazing in themselves, fresh certified Angus beef, 8 different recommended saucescustom sauces you can create at the sauce station, and some of the best smoothies I've had as complimentary drinks to this already awesome meal. Another key game changer at this restaurant is the conveyor belt in the middle of the restaurant. Once seated, my friends and I were able to immediately take out fresh ingredients from the ice cold conveyor belt to begin our hot pot kournet! With all these compliments, we did encounter a wait time of 6-10 mins before our party of six could be seated at 7:30 pm. I'd recommend making a reservation or coming earlier so you and your friends can get the best seats in the house (right next to the conveyor belts). I highly recommend you to try this place before the place gets long lines of people waiting!

Fun Experience

The hot pots and conveyor belt was fun. The food was good but not anything extra special. Go for the experience because it's different. Don't expect gourmet.

Chinese Soup

It is a nice spicy hotpot in this small down. It is good to try this soup with this such weather here.

Hot pot, let's begin

By Got22Go |

The Chubby Cattle, first you need to find a place to park. After searching the small parking lot which is shared with several other Asian eateries, we parked across the street. That wasn't bad since we ate a lot and the short walk to the car after was needed. This was our second time there. The first was much better as we had a booth and the conveyor belt would bring food around, priced by color of plate. Each time there the wait staff was courteous, friendly and fast. They explained the process of ordering which is basically pick your broth, vegetables and proteins (beef, lamb, chicken or types of seafood. We ordered the seafood platter and vegetable platter. The seafood was fresh and tasty. The veggies were mostly lettuce and bok choy; it's good but throw some mushrooms on the platter. The seafood platter had crab, shrimp, tiger prawns, scallops, and mussels. It's fun and entertaining cooking your own food and making your own dipping sauce. Garlic and Garlic! We ordered some prime rib to cook; very good. We did eat a lot and did not have room for dessert. Go for fun, entertainment, experience and socializing. Try to go off busy times to get a booth as, for me, the experience is more social and can try more foods from the conveyor belt. The high table was still good and fun but was a little cramped with others at the same table.

Good hot pot place

Great customer service!! The decoration was nice!! Great meat quality. There are many selections for the soup base!!!

Delicious Hot Pot!

Really great hot pot , good quality meat, fresh veggies, lots of sauces, staff were nice, had a great time there with the family

Excellent Chinese vegetarian hot pot restaurant

By Narendra J |

Very good vegetarian selections are available. The base soup selections are also very tasty. We tried tomato and mushroom based soup, put different vegetables to boil/cook and turned out very nice. Our first try at a hot pot restaurant and Loved the overall experience of a hot pot food.

Good experience

By Chanthon K |

I would recommend ordering the original soup base. It has really good flavor. I ordered a big pot, half original base and the other spicy. Then I mixed both broth together. I also ordered the beef dish, mushrooms dish, meatballs, pasta, and glass noodles. I preferred the glass noodles over the pasta. It does get pricey when you start ordering everything on the menu but it was delicious. I would highly recommend this place.

This place is so good! I love their hot pot, ( we did the 2 people for $99 ) and all their specialty items that you can order, including the bone marrow, the specialty rice, the specialty drinks, which, by the way, they have a happy hour, and a happy hour spin at certain times. They were so attentive to me and my friend. They even brought us a special sauce they made from the Buffet sauce bar themselves. It’s a really cute inside, so don’t be deterred from the outside. The Wagyu nigiri with foie gras, and the sizzling oxtails were absolutely amazing! I definitely wanna come again!

Return

By Vikie B |

This was a return visit for 3 of us. We had eaten here last last year too. Everything was very good at this hot pot restaurant. You can choose from a wide variety of food items then the sauces they have are limitless. Some items we chose were beef combo platter, tiger shrimp, baby bok chow,a basket of different type of mushrooms, and some other items for our individual pots.If you forget to order something it is probably coming around on a conveyer belt for you to pick up.We really enjoy this place and it is one of the cheaper meals we get in Vegas.

What are you waiting for?!

By Sightseer012 |

Hotpot in Vegas is a must! Chubby Cattle just hits different! The only thing I was bummed about was not realizing that they had changed to dinner only. My last visit, there was lunch and dinner.

Cold night, warm spot

By search4gr8eat |

A great place for a hearty, warming Chinese fondue, made lighter with broth instead of gooey cheese. Trays of beautiful beef or sea food combo offered for dipping, and a great self service sauce making to make all the cooked items taste even better. Great service when we dined there, well and patiently explained, refill promptly filled, food presentation very attractive, place is well lit. Parking can get a bit busy once pass 7pm, but park across the street and walk over is quite easy.

Fun, fun, fun!

By VegasMom777 |

My husband and I came here due to an article written by the Review Journal. Boy were we glad to have given this place a try! The conveyor belt concept is neat and the prices are clearly advertised based on the color of the plate you're taking. Several of the plate choices may be strange to many, but they have familiar items like shrimp. We had fun trying out different things to add to our individualized hot pots! The sauce bar also gives you ideas on most common combinations based on the meat you selected, but you can always go rogue and create your own! Love it! The only suggestion I have for the resto is to indicate cook times for the items on the conveyor belt for safe consumption.

Strong pros; strong cons

By Wonderer1961 |

New "conveyor belt" Mongolia hot pot restaurant in the China Mama strip shopping center on S. Jones, just north of Spring Mountain. Pros: delicious food, tasty water, conveyor belt novelty. Cons: must scrutinize bill (we were overcharged $10 - double charged for Heaven & Hell soup base); aggressive wait staff urging us to order the expensive combo meat platters, which are not the best value; noisy frenetic music (to encourage customers to turn over quickly). I first started eating hot pot (satzang) several decades ago in Taipei's Nanking West Road "Enkwan" area - probably before most of the waitstaff at Chubby were born. Did not appreciate their efforts to "hustle" me. No other non-Chinese customers visible. Food was tasty. Bill for 3 of us was over $90. Reduced by $10 when I pointed out the double charge. Conveyor belt items were reasonably priced. Waiter tried to pressure us to order the more expensive combo meat platters, which did not seem to be the best value. Popular place with customers from mainland China. Open 5 pm to midnight daily. Not open for lunch.

Super good and super fun!

By Klaus A |

I heard about this place awhile ago and had it on the radar. We were nearby and wanted to eat, so we went. So glad we did. The staff is friendly and our waitress was very helpful in explaining how the system works. We ordered our broths and picked some items. Everything is served fresh and raw. You cook it in your broth. We watched as some of the obviously experienced people around did up their food. Loved the meat trays and all the fresh veggies. This place is obviously authentic because we were one of only two non Asian customers in the place. I highly recommend this place for a fun and tasty evening. Only drawback is that it isn't in the best part of town, but that just made it more interesting.

Great Selection, Fun Ambiance!

Something different!

By EscapeRoomPanama |

If you are looking for a different experience or already know the concept of korean hot pot then look no more! This place is awesome! The quality of the food is great and the service is good. The option of grabbing stuff off the conveyor belt is also a nice touch. They have loads of different sauces so you can dip your food and the prices are not that bad at all! Def a must visit for food fans! haha

Amazing hot pot with quality meats

By Khoi N |

My friends who are locals and love hot pot were raving about this place. We made reservations for a busy holiday weekend and there were no issues in getting us seated. We chose the tomato oxtail, hellish spicy and the beautiful tomato broths. I personally loved the tomato one because the oxtail was really rich. You get actual oxtail bones in the broth vs the vegan one that just has tomatoes. My friend did say if you love spicy the hellish one is definitely for you. Between the 4 of us we were able to finish the beef brisket, beef & lamb combo and the prime short rib w/egg. Highly recommend ordering the prime rib here. The marble, rich taste and the runny egg were just amazing. The meats come out super fresh and are not frozen. Meats take 3-5 minutes to cook max. Chubby Cattle definitely sets the bar for me when it comes to hot pot. For Andrew Zimmern and Mikey Chen to rave about this place you know its good! With tax and tip it came out to a little over $50 per person which was a steal for what we got. Everyone loved the experience and raved about the quality. The dining experience can be a lil overwhelming with the conveyor belt, but we didn't order anything from there. This is a great place to enjoy some qualify hot pot. Very clean location and amazingly trained staff. Our drinks were constantly getting refilled, table getting cleared and broth being refilled. I will be recommending this location for hot pot from now on.

So happy i found this place.....

By dwcfastrice |

Love hot pot. Brings back so many memories. I love the idea of the conveyor belt hot pot. Last time I saw something similar was in mainland China. Food quality was good and the plates on the conveyor seemed to be rotated fairly regularly. their "original" broth is flavorful and their "hell" broths are great! All in all, a great restaurant in terms of the food. Minus the one star because the server we had spoke too quickly, mumbled a lot, and called us (4 guys in the party), all "bro". A lot. like every few words. Listen, I'm not your "bro". Until I spoke Chinese to the waiter (towards the end of the meal), he did not seem too keen on offering good service. I hope they address this training issue. Food food, it's 5 stars. For service, it's a 4. I'd definitely go back again.

Outstanding seafood Soup pots

You have to visit this place, if your a foodie you have to check this place out. A vast array of food to choose from all meats to fish and prepared perfectly. Everything tastes so fresh.

Chinese hotpot

By AuntieJoy |

Maybe I should be assuming that an Asian place will be full of rude families with kids. But the hotpot thing makes me think people will be thoughtful about wild kids. Not. Four adults in our party but only Gramma was amused by the kids. The wait is based on their poorly planned space (oversized bar and conveyor belts) and whether you wish to have family-style or individual hot pot. We had family style because it was available first. You choose 1-2 broths and order meats, veggies and various add-ons. You create your own dipping sauces at a messy bar (see above for out of control kids), based on some suggested recipes. The poor ventilation is not a dealbreaker only because the food and broths are so excellent. Top choices: wagyu, wonton and shrimp balls.

Amazing hot pot!

By chickabeegrrl |

Oh man this place is awesome. Service was fast and friendly. Food was amazing. We ordered the entry level spicy soup base and it was hella hot. The sauce bar is also very good with lots of options. Food can be ordered through the wait staff or you can grab items directly from the conveyor belt. Even for vegetarians there are a lot of choices including all kinds of delicious mushrooms.

Good time at Chubby Cattle!

By ExpoNationals |

Chubby Cattle!!! The first time I heard the name of this restaurant, I thought it was a steakhouse. Surprised to find out that I was incorrect. Found out the following from their website: "As a reformer of the traditional Mongolian Cuisine, Chubby Cattle is the first restaurant in the world to combine a refrigerated, conveyor belt-based hotpot with the finest traditional hotpot from Asia." Now I knew what to expect after reading this. The restaurant is located in a crowded strip mall. Finding a parking spot during the peak time that we arrived was a challenge. Once inside, we were seated right away. We ended up ordering items from their menu. Yeah, we did not try one item from their conveyor belt. Got to say that it did look cool, though. Everything was labeled nicely. Depending on the color of the plate, prices ranged from $3.99 to $9.99 Tried two different broths. The House Original and the Mushroom. Personally, I preferred the Original. The meats tasted so good cooked in that broth. Also tried the Seafood Combo platter and Potato Noodles. All good! Don't know if I would return. I am not crazy about "cooking" my own food. It was a good experience, service was terrific, and the food was delish. Give them a go if you are in Sin City!

Fantastic experience

By Stanley W |

I'm Asian and understand "hot pot" but here they give you individual hot pots so you can make your own. My grandaughter, thought that this was the best event that we went to in Vegas. The beef was thin and easy to cook and their soup was really good. One of my grandaughters even had the mushroom broth. We had vegetables, meat, mushroom, taro roots. Everyone was really happy to be able to make what they liked. You can also make your own dipping sauce. The service was great, we even had watermelon drink which was compliment our hot pot meals and "sealed the deal" Thank you Chubby Cattle

Definitely worth it

Hotpot : Meat is great, meatballs as well... When i’ve been there it was completely full, i understood why after tasting their quality! I will definitely go back.

Terrific All Around - Wonderful service

By Alex Carrasquillo |

Fantastic spot! I don't think I can think of a single issue. Ample table space. Plates had a creative touch to them. Different foods came in plates of various shapes for space efficiency. Food was incredibly good. We had the first tier, of which there were plenty of wagyu options and seafood. The sesame rice is very good. Our server, Te, was terrific, and checked in quite frequently, giving tips on cook time and just being friendly. High high praise to him! Portion sizes are lite, allowing for plenty of variety. Drinks are bottomless, and there's an in-house ice cream machine!

Fun and good value

By jeepney2015 |

We tried this and glad we did. For less than 20 dollars you get a good variety of meat - enough for 2 people to cook yourself in your broth. We sat by the conveyor belt but didnt even get any of that - only thing extra we ordered was rice and lettuce and my wife and I left full and with takeout leftovers. Wait staff was attentive. Only complaint was the music choice and volume - I'd have preferred something more soothing and the restaurant was loud anyway with the number of people.

Delicious hidden gem!

By Morg |

My husband and I have stopped here before when in town and it’s never disappointed. So, this time we had a group of 20. We wanted to share this hidden gem with them also, so we stopped for lunch. They were very accommodating for our large group. The food was delivered quickly. We had more food than we could all eat and everyone agreed it would be on their list of stops the next time they’re in town!

Very interesting place!

By dreamer8313 |

This is the first time I came to Chubby Cattle and this is a busy restaurant! The wait was about 30 minutes, but it was well worth it! They have a belt that's passing around the side dishes you can cook in your hot pot. I ordered the least spicy of the broths, but it was still very spicy, as the server said their spicy level starts at 5, then 8, then 10. The lamb and the pork sausages were delicious! The shrimp paste also had a great flavor. In all, coming to this place in an experience by itself and I highly recommend this to anyone who hasn't tried hot pot yet, you will love it!

Interactive Dining Experience

By buckwheel |

After asking a few questions, our waiter Deni took care of us. No one in our group of four had dined at this type of restaurant before. Deni explained how the experience works and the different types of soups we could start out with for cooking our meats and seafoood. We each mixed our own dipping sauces, but honestly, most of the foods did not not need to be dipped in our sauces due to our soups being so flavorful. This was one of the most fun, healthy and interactive dining experience any of us have ever had. We will definitely make reservations at the Chubby Cattle each and every time we visit Las Vegas from now on.

OMG Delicious

first time at a hot pot.

By H6575YNdeborahg |

I saw this place on Andrew Zimmers Travel Channel show and wanted to check it out while on vacation in vegas. We had never eaten at a place like this and wanted to check it out. The waiter was very helpful and friendly. I got the idea there are probably a lot of folks that he has to help and was very accustomed in doing so. Anyway, food was excellent. The soup base was so good. I was intimidated at first but got over it as I watched others around us. I dumped shrimp, vegetables etc. from rotating dishes into my soup. Found the peanut sauce from the sauce bar so so good! Definitely would go there again. It's not cheap but not terrible either. For my husband and I the bill was around 55.00. We did not have alcohol just waters. Definitely a place to check out.

All good but not the seafood

By Malayprincess |

Really great food, the soups are incredibe. Loved the oxtail , tomato soup. The beef, mushroom basket- highly recommend. Do not order the seafood platter, rubbish. The noodles , tofu is also good. I would return again

SOOOO GOOD

By Annette H |

Haven't had a true hot pot since our time in Taiwan, found this place while in Vegas and I will return next time I'm there. The service and food are great! One warning....when they say hot (spicy) they are not kidding, I love spicy food and tried to order my hot pot "hot", thank goodness the wonderful hostess suggested that I go medium hot...they can heat it up later if you wish. The medium hot almost put smoke out my ears, but the flavor is wonderful! The conveyor is as nice addition, you can choose small portions of different options for your soup....shrimp, scallops, crab..etc. The only thing on the conveyor we didn't care for were the fish egg dumplings (we didn't know they were fish egg when we took the plate - so make sure you ask about the dumplings). We ordered the beef platter as our main meat for the soup, it was all fresh and tender...they have many options such as seafood, pork & veggie platters also. They also have a small bar with sauces and such for you to explore with - I adored the peanut and almond sauces, although they are all good and the staff will assist you in mixing what is best for you food. This is in a strip mall in an Asian area of Vegas and not far from the strip or down town, if you are in the area it is worth the stop - prices are not too bad and as I said earlier, the service and food are great - go treat yourself

One of the better hot pot places in town

By Eddy L |

We have now been here a couple times and each and every time the food standard has remained above average to great. You get your choice of broth and they will even give you a split pot for two options. Some tables have it so everyone gets their own pot. They have wide range of sauces to choose from and their have a little suggestion chart on how to mix the sauces. Kids get a kick out of the conveyor belt that circles part of the restaurant to chose vegetables, side dishes, noodles and toppings that you can add to your hot bot. Overall, the food quality is pretty good. Only complaint is that the last time we went it was almost as if they had just cleaned the place because you could smell bleach and cleansors at our table.

Great hotpot

By Nevin Li |

You wrote a review for Chubby Cattle Yesterday 5.0 star rating12/1/2019 I go to a lot of chinese hot pot places in the bay area (which granted in general arent the greatest), and am pretty picky about my hot pot. This place has probably surpassed the hot pot places in the bay area as my favorite place. While the meat tastes around the same as the better places in the bay, the superior soup, sauces, frozen tofu, and noodle options have left me wishing they had a location in sf. The wait is pretty brutal so make sure you get a reservation and show up on time (they will only hold your table for 5 mins during rush hour which I do not like though it makes sense - we waited 45 mins after missing the reservation so get there early!) Soup - 5/5. Tried the traditional white bone soup and the spicy tomato. Both tasted rich with natural flavors and not drowned in salt. Sauce bar - 5/5. Again, they did a good job of getting the concentrated natural flavors. Sesame paste was great, as was the peanut and they have all of the sauces youd expect (mushroom, chili oil, even preserved leek). Meat - 4/5 - Had a couple pieces of the standard lamb/beef. Both pretty tender and solid. Veggies - 4/5 - got napa, spinach, baby bok choy, winter melon, mostly fresh and tasty, but some minor complaints. Some of the spinach felt a bit old, and the napa cabbage didnt come with the cabbage core which was disappointing as that's the best part. Tofu - 5/5. The frozen tofu was the best frozen tofu I've had out of the 10 or so hot pot places I've been to, being spongy enough to soak up all the soup while being soft enough to have a good texture. Fresh tofu was decent, tofu skin was okay but not super exciting. Noodles - 4.5/5. A bit softer than I'd normally like but house made and pretty good - came in 3 diff flavors, but the soup overpowers the flavor so they all taste the same (but at least looks nice) Vegan / vegetarian options. This place has you covered. 5 types of tofu, a bunch of veggie options, great noodles, a choice between tomato and mushroom broth, and even special vegan pork on request. This pork is i think soy based and I've seen served at some vietnamese pho places, it's pretty tasty.

I would definitely come here again to try the different broths and mixtures.

Normally, I hate hot pot, but Chubby Cattle creates a dining experience like no other hot pot spots in LV. The restaurant is located on Jones and Dessert Inn in the plaza with District One and Asian BBQ. When you first walk in, you're greeted by a host who seats you either at a both next to the conveyor belt of dishes, in front of it in a bar style or at booths nearby. I prefer to sit near the conveyor belt of dishes that come by because the items there are cheaper than if you order off the menu. You begin by choosing your broth. I had the original and my husband had the ox tail. Both were delicious. My other friends had the spicy soup with a medium level (this was fairly spicy). Then, while you wait for your broth to come out, you can go to the sauce stand near the front and make your own sauce. I put the oyster sauce, garlic, and garlic chili. It was pretty tasty when you dip it with other things. I also made a side of the peanut sauce as well. Have fun with it! We ordered the items we wanted in our hot pot. Meats: Lamb and Beef (both were quality and tasty, but be careful. It cooks fast in your hot pot). From the conveyor belt, we grabbed shrimp, tofu, fish balls, fish, veggies, mushrooms, qual eggs, etc. All were very tasty! What I love about Chubby cattle is how everyone gets their own pot of soup and the freedom to put whatever they'd like in it. It's also stays warm in a little warmer on the table. The broth is always amazing and you get unlimited refills of it. Price was affordable. Food and drinks for 5 people came out to $150 (includes taxes and tips). I would definitely come here again to try the different broths and try different mixtures. Happy Dining, JT
