Authentic Italian hidden gem

By aisleandwindow |

This was truly a great experience with wonderful ambiance, authentic Italian food, and terrific service. My wife and I found this restaurant just a few miles from where we were staying for a long weekend getaway and absolutely loved it. We had the antipasto platter, the Fettuccine, Wild Caught shrimp & Diver Scallops in a light Grand Mariner Cream sauce, and the Linguine with Wild Caught Calamari, Mussels, Clams & Shrimp in a cherry Tomato sauce. Everything was amazing and the bread was hot out of the oven. We finished off dinner with cappuccino and the Limonchello cake and all the positive reviews about were spot on. We’ll go out of our way to dine there again.

Now that's Itilian

By Raymond L |

If you are looking for a nice moderately price Italian dinner this is a place to try. Currently the parking lot of the strip mall is having some construction done but ignore this. This is a family run place with excellent food and actual table cloths if you are tired of the chain / sports bar places in the area. They serve a mixture of both southern and northern Italian dishes. Our group mostly tried the various pasta dishes and we were all very pleased. Highly recommend.

A Must Visit

By markgU8628IT |

We had a business dinner here, the service was the best I've experienced in a long time. We were very well taken care of and they did a great job of explaining the dishes and made excellent recommendations.

Wonderful Local Restaurant

By Brian F |

Went back to one of my favorite places again and enjoyed just as much as previous visits. This is a locally owned and operated restaurant where you can get a excellent authentic Italian meal for very reasonable prices and enjoy every bite. Tonight I had the Pollo Ciao Italia for the first time. Cooked really well a tender piece of chicken with delicious mushroom sauce served with pasta. My business associate enjoyed the lobster ravioli also served with pasta. They make their own pasta and you can definitely taste the difference this makes. It is located in a strip shopping center off I-drive so I say go and try. You will really enjoy.

Great little Italian resteraunt.

By Heath C |

A great little Italian restaurant. Authentic food and good service. We really enjoyed it the meatball and Spaghetti as well as the Alfredo Fettuccine.

Above Average

By Joe B. |

Restaurant is located in a shopping center with ample self serve parking. Our visit was on a tuesday evening for a party of three. We were seated promptly at reservation time. The restaurant was not busy however service was slow to acknowledge our presents. Once that was worked out service was acceptable. The food was above average but not outstanding. Price point for various dishes were acceptable except for the veal chop special which was way over priced. At 8:30 pm we were the only patrons in the place and staff seemed to want us to vacate even though the posted closing time was 11 PM. Anyhow not a repeat restaurant for us but overall acceptable.

Delicious, fairly authentic Italian cuisine at a reasonable price point

By JayDee4711 |

Not necessarily what you would expect in a nondescript strip mall: Reasonably authentic, delicious Italian cuisine and a wine list that includes a selection of high-level California Cabs. Pair that with at least one waiter who speaks Italian, a few Zagat certificates on the wall (even though I did not look at the details), and you have a restaurant that I would not be ashamed to host business guests at during the rest of my stay. The prices are reasonable, too. Glad I tried it out!

Overall, very good Italian

By Sharon S |

Booked this restaurant through Open Table, since we were looking for something available. Service was good, although a bit rushed. Food very good....all four of our dishes just delicious. $200 for 4 of us with 3 glasses of wine.

Two Great dinning experiences while at a convention

By Dennis K |

With so many mediocre eating establishments around the convention area this is truly a gem experience to enjoy. You have to go to Italy, NYC, Philly to find a restaurant close to the flavor and eating experience that we had here. Both meals were with people who have been to Italy and are of Italian descent. One group had 10 people and the other had 8, all of our meals were warm (not under the hot lamps) and great! We all were totally plump and satisfied when we were finished with deserts. Ask about the wine off the wine list. They have limited numbers of bottles they keep off the wine list and they were great as well.

Delicious authentic italian food

By Maryland Sightseer |

Pretty restaurant in a new strip mall near Sea World. Large menu of italian classics. My spouse had pasta with boar and mushrooms, unique and delicious. We both had the house made lobster bisque which was wonderful. Our waiter and busman were both very attentive and friendly. antipasto platter was perfect portion for me and the limoncello cake for dessert fabulous. Highly recommend, would go back tomorrow!

Great Italian Food at Reasonable Prices

By Mark D |

This is a great little hidden gem tucked away in a strip mall. The restaurant is super clean with a very relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. I ordered the lasagne, which was delicious! You also can't go wrong with anything on the dessert menu, all of which are at very good prices. A must-eat for any Italian food lovers!

Very bad food

By Lisa |

Spanish! Don't go!! The food is very bad... don't be guided by the stars and photos. I guided myself and it's very bad... a shame really.

Hidden gem for real Italian food

By Renee B |

Family owned. Nice environment. Near SeaWorld. Very good food. Daily specials. Lamb shank fell off the bone was so tender. Great service, nice selection of wines. Not very busy. Music playing was Italian. Added a nice feel to the location. Plenty of parking in the shopping center. Easy to get in and out.

Excellent food and service!

By Gail R |

Excellent food and service. The staff are very informative and friendly. We have dined here many times. The meals are consistently good.

Delightful

By Steve I |

This a very nice mid-price restaurant serving high quality traditional Italian food. Reminded us of family restaurants in Italy.

Food Still the Star

By Ed S |

Excellent choice for fine Italian food. Delicious baked bread, good portions without being huge and nicely crafted Italian favorites. Wines are a little on the pricey side and the corkage fee for BYOB wines is 25.00 which is high. As long as you go for the food and skip the wines and alcoholic beverages two can dine for 60.00 tip included. This is still one of the only non chain restaurants in all of Orlando. They are still one of the few in this regard.

Delicious Dinner and Service at Ciao Italia

By Marianne M |

My sister and I visited Ciao Italia, while in Orlando on 8/11/21. It was a quiet evening. Carmelo was our server and took great care of us. My sister and I split a delicious Caesar salad and had excellent Penne Salmone and Sacchetti Al Filet for our dinners. We were too full for dessert, however, the Cappuccino was awesome. Will definitely return to Ciao Italia, when in the Orlando area, again.

A Very Good Italian Dinner

By BobOZee |

We enjoyed our dinner experience! We had carpaccio and salad for starters, I had the spaghetti with pesto and my Lady had the veal picatta. We paired the meal with a very nice Chianti Our server Sean was very good. We will return.

Authentic Italian

By Sherstur |

I made reservations at this restaurant and we were greeted warmly when we arrived. The decor is very pretty and the service was attentive. I had a seafood and pasta special over linguine that was perfectly prepared and delicious. My husband said his veal parmesan was excellent. We shared a melt in your mouth tiramisu for dessert. This was the best meal of our vacation and we ate dinner out every night. We will return.

Take out food

By tvm12016 |

We have been here in our past trips to Orlando. Always great food and good service. This year we decided to do carry-out. We were not disappointed. Great Food and a very friendly person we pick it up from.

Very good Italian,

By M R |

In a small strip mall off the beaten path of International Blvd, not what you expect as you approach makes up for it with the food. Their specials are very good, grouper this time. Exceptional service. Wine list s little thin.

Great tartufo

By rocky b |

4* Ciao Italia Orlando Old-fashioned Italian Friendly food service Tasty house bread Love the house salad Penne pasta was good, but could have been with better marinara rather than a tomato sauce Meatballs were the real deal Veal picatta was excellent The cheese ravioli was delicious The tartufo dessert was the best

Don’t waste your time it’s not appreciated

By Donna P |

Good was okay. Service was great. There was 11 of us at a table. Everyone was having a great time and we finished our food. The waiters asked us if everything was okay and this is when we informed him that one of the dishes was miss a main ingredient. He said he would send the manager over as it was a typo on the menu that the ingredient was missing from the dish. Please remember that there were 11 of us and the bill came to over $600 with no desserts and only 4 drinks ordered. We’ll this rude :)&7? Came over to the table and said he would credit our bill with the missing ingredient. We told him that wasn’t good enough and that’s when he went into his temper tantrum and pulled his mask off and informed me that no one tells him what to do. I asked to see the owner and he informed me he was the owner. Come to find out his Dad is the owner and it’s such a shame his son will eventually ruin this business. The waiter brought the bill back and said that entree had been removed from the bill. We’ll one quick glance at the bill showed not only it wasn’t removed but they charged us 20% gratuity when the menu specifically stated an 18% gratuity would be charged. I wanted to speak to the so called manager again about this but he had left the building. As I said food was okay (could have been hotter) and a little pricey but make sure you get what you are paying for and make sure they are charging you the correct prices. Oh and don’t forget to ask if the menu has any typos in it. Leaving ingredients out is just another way for them to put more money in their pockets. P.S. we did leave the wait staff a very handsome cash tip

not great

By hersheypi03 |

poor service once the place got busy. friend had linguine with clam sauce ...said it was very good. I ordered lobster ravioli in a tomato vodka sauce with basil. no basil in sauce and ravioli cold in the center...obviously frozen and either microwaved or not cooked long enough. sent back and received a second try. odd thing was this ravioli was oblong vs the first plate which was a different shape. 1st try had approx. 6 ravioli, second try about 4 ravioli. sauce second time around was some type of runny orange sauce. took a bite, flavorless and tough. friend tried and agreed. they took the dish off the bill, comped my glass of wine and then asked if I would like another dish on the house. except my friend already finished dinner. so I sat there and watched him eat. did not want to stay longer so he could then watch me eat. although they tried to correct the situation they failed, twice. will not return, too many other places to choose from!

Amazing place

By Bianca Udroiu |

Amazing food and service. The staff is very nice and friendly. They made our dinner really enjoyable. And the desserts are great!

Authentic Italian

By Gerald H |

We enjoyed our meal. The specials were excellent-from the savory butternut squash ravioli appetizer to the seafood lasagna and the lamb. It was all excellent. For the above meals and no alcohol cost us $87. Much better food than expected with restaurant in a strip mall. Worth a splurge for delectable Italian food.

A Great Italian Feast

By Steve S |

This restaurent was recommended by our hotel concierge. Not disappointed! Excellent capresse appetizer. Wonderful shrimp scampi and a generous helping of spaghetti and meatballs exceeded our expectations. The desserts and wine blew us away! Oh, and the service was great and a lot of fun. We will return!

Food great, service great, need a new hostess

By Jeff K |

Got there and we had made reservation online for wrong day. Hostess was a little confrontational, made us wait 20+ minutes though they had a table for our group ready. That said, food was great, all 8 really enjoyed. Servers was good. Deserts real good, mains real good. The montepulciano d'abruzzo 2018 was okay not best. I would return. It’s definitely a good restaurant. We had pastas, seafood, meats, and all thought really well cooked. No complaints

Impeccable Service

By Lora C |

Food was very delicious. We had Rigatoni and Lasagna. The noodles are made on site and are wonderful. The cheesecake was amazing as well as the tiramisu. The service is what you would expect for fine dining, even for a couple dressed in shorts and t-shirts. For our next visit we'll dress better out of respect for the fine service! Thank you for a great dinner for two tired and hungry 50 somethings! See you again soon!

Expected much more

By Karch72 |

I had high hopes as this restaurant seemed to quaint and family owned. I ordered the grilled calamari as an appetizer and was extremely disappointed. The squid was cut into rings and was rubbery and didn't look like it was grilled at all. It was in a lemon butter sauce that was so bland. For my entree, I ordered the seafood pasta special. While the dish had good flavor from the tomato cream sauce, the portion of seafood was small and not worth the price in my opinion. My dinner guest had the artichoke chicken pasta and it arrived as a bowl of fettucine with an overcooked chicken breast on top. She was not impressed either. I wanted to try dessert, but after my experience I was doubtful that it would worth it.

Casual with upscale flair

By Budmanri |

Classy restaurant with all tables ,no bar area and no liquor, just wine ,but not an issue for me. Start with the garlic bread with cheese, excellent. Kids menu adequate. All entrées were great. Veal Parmigiana,Tortellini Bresa,Lobster Ravioli, and Linguine & Clams all wonderful.Sean our server was a seasoned pro. Restaurant is in a plaza .5 or more Guest 20 pct tip is included.

Authentic delicious food and relaxing atmosphere.

By AnDfl2 |

Wonderful friendly staff. Quiet relaxing atmosphere. Authentic delicious food. Great wine selections. I ate there twice during my 3 night visit in the area.

Wonderful experience

By Tee-gal |

My husband and I had dinner last night with mother in law and her husband. We had a 7:00 reservation and were seated right away. The hostess was very pleasant as well as our server/servers. One gentleman took our drink order...a lovely bottle of Chimney Rock Cab and Sondro took our meal order. He was a very nice man and extremely hard worker. My husband had their veal special which was a double boned veal chopped butterflied with mozzarella and prosciutto. Very delicious but expensive (we didn’t ask the price and were a bit surprised when we received the bill $60 for veal). Next time we will ask the price of the specials before ordering...nonetheless it was delicious! My mother in law and I had the grouper with lump crab and artichoke hearts and her husband had the linguine with shrimp, grouper and another seafood. He LOVED it! The grouper needed a bit more seasoning. All in all, very lovely evening. So glad we tried this hidden gem.

Nice quaint Italian restaurant

By Jill D |

wonderful experience....had to go back again before leaving the area. The Veil marseille was excellent as well as seafood dishes. Wasn't fond of the lasagna. Very good service both times.

Great staff!

By Chandra R |

Fabian, our waiter, was excellent! He remembered my parents from over a year ago. We had garlic bread, burrata, and the chef’s special, all fantastic. My dad makes his own bread, and typically when I’m in a restaurant I comment that the bread isn’t as good as his; not this time! It was great. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant if you’re in the Orlando area.

Amazing Italian food

By Roam24826490891 |

Enjoyed an incredible dinner with my wife and friends at Ciao Italia. The food was rich in flavor and authentically Italian, with every dish perfectly prepared. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the service was top-notch. Great food, great people, and a night to remember. Can’t wait to return.

Nice dinner!

By Karen P |

Nice meal- reasonably priced and very tasty. The server was very busy but food arrived hot and appealing.

An easy walk or drive from OCCC

By fgrandjean |

On our first visit to Ciao we walked from the OCCC and found out that driving and parking were easy so did we on our second visit. The veal marsala was good, the lasagna was nothing to bragg about. Wine is expensive. The staff was helpful. Noise was acceptable but could easily become an issue.

Authentic Italian, Upscale Service

By CorvetteKatie |

When traveling I prefer to eat locally and found this restaurant a short drive from our hotel. It's upscale in their presentation, but located in a strip mall, and there were people there in shorts and casual wear. The food was really good, homemade style Italian. The prices were a little higher, but I felt worth it for the quality of food and service. We would have eaten here a second night in a row had we not ventured out of the immediate area! Highly recommend.

Great family-owned italian restaurant

By mikegetsaround2 |

My first dining experience here on May 9, 2018. Carmella and Vanessa did a wonderful job of serving a fine Italian meal. Great food, wonderful service. Veal chop was awesome. I wish you all the best.

1/22/2021. Had dinner tonight.

1/22/2021. Had dinner tonight. So good! Carmelo our serve was amazing! Can’t say enough. My new favorite place.

Tasty Italian food (I know it as I lived in Milan)

By Paul T |

Eat alone dinner while on business trip in Orlando. Had a fresh Caprese, a delicious pork chop on mash potatoes, finished with Tiramisu and of course, espresso. All topped with Moscato.

Delicious

By Laura C |

Went with a business colleague, very last minute. We were seated right away (Wednesday night) and the service was prompt, attentive and good cadence. But the pasta is super delicious. If I lived locally I’d be here often. There is obvious pride in the food; the waitress and manager checked for our satisfaction (in non-obtrusive way). Super enjoyed, cozy atmosphere.

Won’t be returning!

By Naina T |

We went to Ciao Italia on Tues, Dec 3, 2024, didn’t have reservations. We were given a table in the back of the restaurant. While walking to it we noticed plenty of empty tables for 2, 4 and more. Within a few feet of our table, to the right was a wall unit with their wine bottles stock, to the left, the server station; plates, computer etc. Servers walking past our table bringing out plates of food, we couldn’t see the kitchen but it seemed to be around the corner so also a busy walkway. We asked the server who seated us, if we could get a better table. We were told we couldn’t because they were being held for reservations. Heard her mumble something about cleaning a table upfront but that’s all it was, a mumble. We decided to leave to go one of the many other restaurants that are within one mile from them. We were there around 7:30 pm, no line of people waiting for tables, actually, noone waiting. Checked the Open Table app. Doesn’t say how many reservations they had, they must have had some, as the server informed us, but they also had a lot of availability, from 8:00 to 9:00 pm, 8 available slots. I guess they were holding some of those tables for ‘possible’ reservations and wouldn’t seat us at one of them. Don’t understand it, won’t be returning to this restaurant again.

Mediocre at best

By Foreignfoody |

Outstanding service, outstanding wine, nice atmosphere, but there is were the buck stops, unfortunately, if you like corporate Italian food it may be ok, but certainly not even close to be authentic Italian!

Ok

By Hippler1 |

Good service. Salad was very, very good. My wife had veal Marsala and was very good. I had veal parmigiana. The entre was very tough. Not sure if the veal was made fresh at the restaurant.

Dinner in Orlando

Business Travel

By LSP150 |

I highly recommend that a reservation is made regardless of what night you plan to attend. The chicken parm was excellent (ask for extra sauce). The service was good.

Orlando trip

By desro35 |

Really enjoyed the ambiance. In a strip mall and still was great inside. Our server was awesome. Food was good. Wine list was great. Server recommended a wonderful Italian Barbara. It was delicious.

Great service, but high prices

By K. L |

The service was very friendly and helpful. The Italian accent does make it a little hard to understand the staff when you are not a native English speaker. The food quality was great, the portion was a little small for the high price. Looking at quality verses quantity, they really go for quality...

Awesome

By James S |

Pasta always fresh, try daily pasta special. Always great, we eat here when in Orlando. Save room for dessert, especially the lemoncello cake. One of our favorite restaurants in Orlando.

Bad food, poor service

By Candy R |

We ordered several dishes , they were all plain. The calamari was tasteless and chewy The service was slow.

Best Italian Food in Orlando

By Hugo A |

Variety of menu to meet different tastes in the family and the special care of the waiter Ricardo, Brazilian. Nothing like a Brazilian to serve a Brazilian family. It was one of the best gastronomic experiences in Florida this year. In addition to the cordiality detailed explanations, the careful preparation and service

Ciao delivers!

By Micaela N |

Ciao Italia is one of my favorite places to bring clients for a warm, authentic dining experience. As a realtor, I appreciate how consistently delicious the food is and how welcoming the staff always are. It’s the kind of place that leaves a lasting impression—elegant, comfortable, and always dependable.

Bad food and service

By Bill M |

We went to Ciao Italia to celebrate our twenty fifth wedding anniversary with our extended family who were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. We totaled a party of five. This restaurant was recommended by our resort and included a 10% discount on food. We were excited to go there. When we arrived we were seated at a table that was so close to the table next to us, I actually felt that I could join their conversation. It was uncomfortable to say the least. As it was a round table I scooted as far away from our neighbors as possible. When the waiter arrived my wife told him that we were celebrating our 25th and 50th anniversaries the waiter made a derogatory remark about marriages and related his failed parents marriage. This was a great start to our celebration. We ordered our meals and waited for them to arrive. Some of us ordered wine and said that it was good. I ordered "Chicken Parmigiana" and my wife ordered "Pollo Ciao Italia" Also ordered were "Veal Parmigiana", "Chicken Marsala" and "Fettuccine Alfredo". The Chicken Parm was tough as nails. I had to work hard sawing it with my knife to cut a piece that was very difficult to chew. The Pollo Ciao Italia (Their namesake dish) was dried out and the pasta sauce was very watery. The Veal Parm was ok but the Marsala didn't measure up. Lastly the Fettuccine Alfredo was not to my nephew's liking. We are an experienced bunch of eaters and were all dissatisfied with the exception of the veal Parm. We asked for separate checks for our two families and when we got them they were not correct. The waiter took them back and returned with new checks which were also incorrect. Sent them back again. The third time they were close enough that we paid them. Although I had told the waiter the reason I didn't eat my meal was because it was too tough, he basically ignored me and after all this grief they had the gall to add a 20% gratuity to the bill. You can be sure that we will never return to this establishment.

Poor Service, Excellent Food

By Jeffrey K |

We were in the restaurant last evening, the meal was excellent but service was underwhelming. When we first arrived the host was not happy that we asked for the children’s menu for my 11 year old because to was too old. In my opinion it’s not about savings it’s about waste of food. My 11 year old cannot eat an adult portion of chicken Parm, I struggle to eat that much food. Unfortunately that was our first impression from there the service didn’t meet expectations. We had two gentlemen serving us, one was shorter with grey hair the other was very tall. The short server was excellent, he asked about water service and brought the sparkling for all. When the taller gentleman man came over he asked if we were ready to order food. I asked about wine which completely annoyed him, then the two bottles I asked for he couldn’t find. Next I asked about bread but he said there wasn’t any ready, while the other server was bringing it to tables. The shorter gentleman brought the bread to us when we asked. The taller waiter never came back to refill wine glasses. When he brought the meals, the plates were clanged against other plates. We tried to address with the host at the end but he knows not of this was true, not sure how. Again the shorter waiter with the spoon tie tac was excellent, he would be the reason I come back. On a side note the taller waiter had a terrible cough, while he wore a mask the entire time not an impression I would want as a business owner in the current pandemic. Also there was a large table that sat near the credenza on the right side. They needed to move for some reason and when the host cleaned the table any silverware or setting that didn’t look used was rolled back up and placed back in the pile, same with plates. This is not infection control measures I would want used in my establishment during these times.

Truly excellent home made Italian food in Orlando!

By Nancy B |

The food here was excellent - pasta was cooked al dente, bolognase sauce was authentic and bread was warm and fresh. They make their own giardinara which was small but excellent. Antipasto was excellent quality. We ate there twice on this trip - it was that good. The only feedback that I would give was the disapproving look we got from the waiter / front man when we told him we did not have a reservation. We were seated immediately but he definitely not happy with the fact that we did to have a reservation.

Unexpected

By PAIGEBRIT |

Went in without high expectations but was I wrong! Stopped by after a day at the water park and placed a to go order. The fettuccine pasta was rich and creamy, and the chef salad was delicious! Needless say I was impressed! Would definitely return.

Overrated

By Impacked123 |

A let down that started with the crabby elderly gentleman wait r who acted like we're set an annoyance to him when we didn't order complete evening repast within literally 5 min of sitting down Bread while good was almost thrown on table by bus person without a word. Sauteed calamari was average. No flavour Pasta dishes were fine but attitude and the speed to get us out was a turnoff

Good food!

By Kim N |

Very good food, although a little bit pricy. Went here with my sister and we both liked our food. The atmosphere was nice, not too noisy. The only thing that was slightly confusing was having three different waiters. All in all, it was okay!

Authentic Family Restaurant

By Sir Tommy |

How many times have we said boy I wish something tasted like mom’s or grandma’s cooking? This place has the feel of family, and the atmosphere of romance, from the waiters, to the host all of illuminates the essence of Italy. And to top of the excellence of this place, the sauce will savory in your taste buds for days...only for to want to go back and indulge in more food. Don’t allow this place to be missed in your path of restaurants to eat at, and for the guys there this is definitely a great place to take the wife or girlfriend and she will not be disappointed.

A Hidden Gem

By Deacon42 |

This is a true Italian restaurant right off I Drive. The waiters are attentive and work well together as a team. We have never had a bad meal in our annual vists to the Orlando area, Good Sauce good pasta. We will be back next season.

Excellent Dining

By Keith D |

This is more of a mom and pop type Italian restaurant in a strip shopping center near Sea World. Great food, limited but reasonable wine selections and nice desserts. We shared a Caesar salad and lovely cioppino like risotto. Make reservations as they seem to be popular and only use a limited amount of their table space.

Great Food-Wonderful Service

By HNBISOFF |

We were extremely pleased with our meal at Ciao Italia. The lasagna was very tasty. The seasonal salad was very refreshing and tasty. The service was outstanding. We were delighted they seated us without reservations. A very nice meal in a pleasant atmosphere.

Everything was amazing

By John M |

Everything was amazing here. Reasonably priced fresh made pasta and real quality ingredients. Service was great as well. This place is a gem don’t miss it.

A hidden gem with delicious food.

By ERFSU82 |

Tucked into a small strip mall, this is a true hidden gem. It is a quaint, charming restaurant, much more upscale than the exterior would suggest. Our service was outstanding from start to finish, and the food was delicious. Some of the best Italian food I’ve had in a while. We visit this area often, and will definitely return for dinner.

Nothing Memorable

By jaybeeFL |

Dined here this week with another couple after reading the many positive TA reviews. . It was OK just not a memorable experience. Service was sporatic and the food was mixed -- some very good (Salmon a la vodka with penne was delicious) while others were eh! (papperdelle with bolognese had a tomato sauce that was far too sweet). Prices were reasonable and decor was attractive. Location in a strip mall was undesirable as there was trash in the parking spots in front of the restaurant and seedy characters hanging around! Not our cup of tea.

Delicious Italian fare!

By NMTravel19 |

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Ciao Italia. The restaurant has an unassuming exterior and is located in a small strip mall, but is a wonderfully warm Italian restaurant. The meals are both authentic and delicious. The lively atmosphere made us feel as though we were dining in the midst of a happy Italian family!

Give it a miss

By Fromhome1 |

Hostess seating us mumbled to follow her to table, plonked the menus down and walked off. Male waiter took our order and made odd ‘joke’. When asks for something he acknowledged it and then went to serve another bigger table, never came back- assume tip would be bigger from larger group. Had to ask another server. Clam linguine was tasteless, just linguine in oil with a bit of garlic. Worst I’ve ever had. Lasagna was just warm enough and barely passable, no depth of flavour at all. Garlic bread was their ‘famous’ bread with a tiny amount of garlic butter and so overdone it could break your teeth. We didn’t stay for dessert and won’t be going back. The older male server was much more hospitable and may have been the owner. If not him someone needs to review the food quality particularly of these two simple, popular dishes. To top this there is a mandatory 18% service charge, don’t mind tipping and are often generous when the service and food is good.

Replaced wine at an extremely high price!!

By JankanHH |

Second and last visit here! The wine we did order was 65 Dollar but it was sold out so the waiter suggested another Super Tuscany wine from Carpineto it had a screwcork so I was surprised of the price and sure when we looked up the retailprice it was 12,99 a bit too high margin so sure I felt cheated. The food was ok but not up to what we had during our last visit. My dessert Aggogato which I order many times in my life took the first price in expensive 11 dollar +tax+servicecharge is almost more than double from what I normally pay!

Not impressed

By Amber D |

My daughter and I ate here years ago on an Orlando trip and loved it so we were looking forward to going back this trip. First I will say the service was great and the bread was fresh and warm. Our meals though were quite disappointing. My daughter got the spaghetti bolognese, which was just ok. The real disappointment was the special I ordered - pan seared grouper topped with artichoke hearts, lump crab, and a lemon butter garlic sauce. It was pretty tasteless and disappointing and when the bill came and saw it was $37!!! I was even more disappointed. I don't mind paying for quality and tasty food, but this was not it at all. Will likely leave this place off our list next time we come to Orlando.

Amazing food and service

By RPI-hockey-fan |

This is a small, family owned Italian restaurant, located in a strip mall. It was one of the most amazing restaurant experiences we’ve had in years. The interior is very elegant, and the ambience excellent. The wait staff, some of the best we’ve had, were very experienced, and seem to have been with the restaurant for years, I suspect some of them were family members. The food was quite frankly amazing. When I asked for advice, the wait staff recommended the special of the day, which was seafood linguine, it came with very large, scallops and shrimp, and amazingly large lumps of crab, and a wonderful sauce and perfectly cooked pasta. My wife had Seabass, that came with asparagus and very light tomato sauce, she said it was one of the best she had in years. Unfortunately, we don’t live in Orlando, we were just visiting, if we lived here, we would come back all the time. When we do come back to Orlando, this will be our number one restaurant.

Uncomfortable.

By ottofueler |

Our first time at Ciao Italia was uncomfortable. Two of us walked in without a reservation, and felt a little criticized, but were seated immediately. We ordered a couple glasses of wine and immediately experienced an up-sell attempt to buy a bottle. The bruschetta was good, the Limoncello chicken pasta was under seasoned, and the sausage penne could've had more flavor. This Italian restaurant is more uppity vs. friendly. And the prices seem higher than necessary. And yes, we've experienced restaurants in Italy with similar foods who convey thankfulness for our patronage. We'll not be back.

Feels like back in New England

By TP F |

I have been living in Fl for 2 years now (first year snow bird permanent after). Finally got to Ciao, my god i felt that I was back in Providence ri on Federal Hill with all the gorgeous restaurants and food in the area. WOW food was great, especially seafood. Somewhat expensive but that is how you keep quality up and keep bad people out.

Poor service, not worth the $$

By Cristie C |

The men who work here are unfriendly and pompous. They obviously don’t want to serve families and did the bare minimum with regard to serving us. They automatically add on an 18% gratuity so I guess they don’t see any reason to offer good service. The food was good but I don’t recommend this restaurant. There are so many places who would love to have your business, this is not one of them.

Okay....

By ADolores |

We visited Ciao Italia Ristorante for dinner during our vacation. We were the first and only table in the restaurant and thus every one of the four servers came to our table to do something. I was asked multiple times if I was ready to order and finally just picked something. I had the lobster bisque to start which had some tiny pieces of lobster in it. My entree was the lobster ravioli and I did not find it be a flavorful dish...I kept salting it but even that did not help. We split a tiramisu for dessert which was okay but not great.

Recommend! Great food and service.

By Dana M |

We visited this restaurant unexpectedly when the wait at Cheddar’s was too long. We were seated right away. The food, wine and atmosphere were great. I got the chicken parm. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. The restaurant was nice and clean. It was a much needed night out. I highly recommend eating here. I lost one of my earrings (real crystal) and the restaurant was kind enough to mail it to me all the way in RI. If we are ever in the area again I would go back in a heartbeat.

Food good. Service horrible. Never again.

By MelanieJ204 |

We had reservations and were ignored by the waiter (understaffed?) for quite some time. By the time our food arrived, I was past being hungry. It was appalling.

Bad place for if you want good food

By Linda K |

The three different choices at our table were all awful. Dry pasta, mushy chicken, stale bread. Sauce tasted like cheap canned sauce. Waiter was worst I have ever encountered. He made us feel very rushed even though restaurant was very empty. He never asked what we would like to drink, would we like a salad, or would we like dessert and coffee. He never asked if we needed anything or how we like our meals. Very disappointed as we had a guest with us. I would not recommend this restaurant to any one

Not Overwhelming

By James M |

I rarely eat Italian food in a restaurant because you can fix most items in your own kitchen better. Nothing worse than paying $20 for a $2 plate of pasta. So the key is, don't order pasta. The bread was warm crusty and excellent, the anti-pasta tray better than average. I had the stuffed pork chop which was good but under seasoned. My companion had pasta which he stated was bland. Overall, not bad and it was a short walk from the hotel. Atmosphere was nice, service good.

Great choice for a double special day.

By Tere C |

A superb experience. We were celebrating our Anniversary as well as Fathers' Day. The wine was recommended by Eduarfo, the waiter. Ir was an impeccable italian wine, at a reasonable price. The lobster bisque was perfect and so were my lamb chops served in a wine reduction with asparagus and pollenta, my husband's choice was just as good or even better. To end, I enjoyed a limoncello cake with a precious balance of sweet and sour. The tiramisu ordered by my husband was delicious. Service and food was outstanding. We will be back!

Hidden gem!

By LuckyDucky4 |

We arrived at a hotel directly across the street from a typical Orlando strip mall, and wanted to find somewhere within walking distance for dinner. A quick search turned up Ciao Italia. We called to check on available tables, and were greeted with a warm welcome and "come on over!" Ciao Italia is tucked away but once you enter, the atmosphere is totally unexpected. Nice décor and comfortable seating. Everyone gave us a welcoming smile, and we enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing dinner. The food was tremendous, and we thought some of the dishes rivaled food we actually had in Italy. Don't miss the Bruschetta, totally delicious! But the highlight of the evening was our wonderful server Fabiano. He was helpful and even was able to have the chef make a special dish for me. Even though we were able to have a quick walk to this restaurant, we would go out of our way to dine there again!

Great Italian Cuisine in Orlando

By ChuckNY352 |

If you want outstanding freshly made Italian food in Orlando life is k no further than Ciao Italia. Great service, just right portion size, fresh ingredients made for a delicious, reasonably priced night out.

Fantastic in every way.

By atyger7 |

Amazing food, presentation, atmosphere and service. Loved it so much we went back the next night. Every course was delicious and very fairly priced. Had veal piccata and the pork chop feature along with bruschetta as a starter and lemon mascarpone cake the first night. The second night we had chicken Alfredo and veal parmigiana along with tiramisu. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend. If we lived in the area we would be regulars.

Good food

By Judy E |

Went on a quiet Sunday night. The waiter was nice and the food was served promptly. The portions were good and the food tasted good. The only negative was that we had to wait at least 5 minutes to be acknowledged. There was no one to greet us when we got there. It was not busy.

Surprising Strip Mall Find

By wetravelalot007 |

The only thing that downgraded this nice restaurant was the location. It is located in a strip mall that is surrounded by a sports bar, liquor store and other ethnic eateries. The exterior does not invite you into anything special. The views as well are forgettable. Once you are inside the atmosphere is upscale and white table cloth. It is not pretentious as we were in jeans when we dined here, but does have that upscale feel to it. The pricing and value were not bad for the area. Orlando tends towards the higher side of food pricing. This is not an inexpensive dining experience by any means but a decent value for the area. What was exceptional was the Service. Top notch professionals. They did a five star job of taking care of our every whim including splitting our Caprese salad. The food was very good. It would not rate as the best Italian fare we have enjoyed but very good. We had the Veal Parmesan, Lasagna and a Caprese salad. Add to that a nice bottle of wine and we enjoyed the food very much. The bread that came with the meal was very good dipped in their Extra Virgin Olive Oil concoction. If you are staying in the area definitely do not be afraid to stop by this restaurant. We rate it a high four star stop.

Delicious Home cooked Italian cuisine

By kpOrlando |

This gem has been serving delicious homemade Italian delicacies for well over 2 decades. The eggplant rotallini and calamari sauteed in lemony buttery sauce were delicious appetizers. The seafood linguine in a light cream lobster sauce was exceptionally tasty. The Italian bread with a olive oil - herb dip was great. Service was friendly and the waiter took his time explaining and recommending dishes. A very nice meal.

A Taste of Italy

By Chris P |

We enjoyed a fantastic meal! My wife had the penne and sausage, cooked perfectly. My daughter had the spaghetti puttanesca that she said was great. I had the linguine and seafood special that came with a ton of salmon, scallops, shrimp and clams. Don't let the fact that it's in a strip mall put you off, what a gem! Thank you Fabiano and staff.

Good, nice and well priced

By Patricio E |

Very good Italian restaurant. Moderate prices, good dishes and friendly staff, so much so that I ended up leaving more tip than included in the bill. The living room decorated nice. If you're in the Orlando area and want to try pasta, it's a good place.

a disappointment

By jackstras |

While my linguini con vongole was average, my wife's dish was an extreme disappointment. She had ordered veal parmagiani. The edge of the meat was crusty, the cheese not warm and melting. She also ordered garlic bread which also not very good. We had high expectations based on the high prices, but will never recommend this restaurant. We informed the Marriott that had recommended the place.

Must do in Orlando

By Anna Z |

We love Ciao Italia and return every time we are in Orlando- they never disappoint. We had a great server- Carmelo- very knowledgeable about Italian wines and super service. We shared the burrata appetizer, lovely creamy burrata, excellent prosciutto and peppery arugula. My husband had lasagna, I had the Penne with Salmon and vodka sauce and we shared the crepe brûlée. Entire meal was perfect and delicious. Actually have reservations at their other restaurant Vincenzo’s - can’t wait!

Great little find.

By Slate B |

Before we finished our holiday in Orlando, I wanted to find a decent non-chain Italian restaurant. I think I can say mission accomplished when I stumbled upon this little place. Not far off the beaten track sort of mid way on International drive on Westwood. Everyone in my party agreed that what they ordered was first class and there were clear plates all round. My wife had the veal parmesan and the brusheta starter was big enough to share among three. Prices were very reasonable and I would definitely recommend it and make a point of another visit should I return to Orlando.

A real gem amongst the clutter

By john s |

Orlando has almost every type and brand of restaurant and many are both quite forgettable and expensive. This one is different. It is a genuine family run Italian restaurant with excellent food, Old world service and reasonable prices. The menu is quite varied and they handle special requests with grace. It is close to the hotels along Westwood and I drive and more than worth the effort. Don’t be put off by the strip mall location. It is quite pleasant inside.

CAUTION

By Marco S |

The language barrier of foreigners is being exploited to the fullest. BE CAREFUL!!!!! The English is brief and in the end the facts are distorted.

A little above average

By CruisingCher617 |

Service was efficient but cold. The food was satisfying but nothing that would say I have to go every time I’m in town. I try to visit local restaurants and skip chains when I travel but I’m pretty sure I could have had a better meal and experience at Bertucci’s.

Fantastic Dinner

By Wander638387 |

Ciao has everything: great service, friendly atmosphere, pretty table settings and fabulous food. This restaurant is great for friends, family, couples.

Tourist trap

By Uwe R |

As non-native speakers, we were really ripped off. As the special of the day (which wasn't on any menu) we were offered a 20 dollar meal with a lot of slurring. When we asked, the price was confirmed. In the end it cost 68 dollars and they meant 20 ounces of meat. A real rip-off for tourists who don't speak at C2 level. Definitely not recommended!!!

One of the few Authentic Italian Restaurants in a morass of chain restaurants

By jsbmoky |

I have been to Ciao Italia 5 times. Every time I have visited, I have been impressed with the service and the food. Ciao Italia is expensive, but I would rather pay a little more for authenticity rather than less for chain restaurant (e.g. Olive Garden, Tomatoes, Buca di Beppo, etc.) premade, reheated slop. Most restaurants in the Orlando area are setup for quick service to get you in and out of their restaurant. They do not if the food is mediocre. Ciao Italia does not rush you the food is prepared to order. The waiters speak italian.

Excellent Italian Restaurant

By Levon M |

Two couples for dinner on a Sunday night. Very friendly staff. From the minute we walked in it was obvious the service was going to be good and from the smells so was the food. Our server - Tony - was very helpful and gave us a number of good bits of advice since none of us had ever been there before. We started with a bottle of Josh Pinot and followed with Antipasto and mussels for appetizers, Outstanding!! I had Linguine al Frutti di Mare and my wife had Spaghetti Puttanesca. Both were as good as any we have had in South Philadelphia's Italian District. For dessert we had Limoncello mascapone cake and Sorbet. Again both were excellent. Our dinner companions were also very pleased with their selections. I would gladly go back the next time we are in Orlando. We will probably try the house specialty Tony described. 20 oz of thinly sliced veal stuffed and folded over. It sounded outstanding and we almost got it to share!

Fabian was awesome

By sun_shine641 |

Stumbled upon this little gem. Everything was wonderful from the food to the service! All of the servers were so kind and the food was delicious! We had bruschetta, chicken parmigiana, gnocchi with alfredo, and a cannoli. We had a wonderful experience.

A return after several years

By Upstate Traveler |

We returned to Ciao Italia after several years. We were not disappointed and again had fine meal. It is fine dining and a bit pricy for the average person, but if wanting a fine restaurant with a European feel, this is it. We particularly appreciated the food as we had returned to the US after a year in Italy, and several of the offerings had the taste of fine restaurants in Italy. The dishes have good variety and are well prepared and presented. We had a sense of dishes from several areas of Italy. The service is very good, with attention to the needs of diners. There is a decent wine selection, but it will cost to have a quality wine. We highly recommend this restaurant for a special meal.

Fabulous Family Owned Italian

Great food here at a nice family owned Italian restaurant. Great service and nice atmosphere. Homemade mozzarella. Super warm bread. Nice sized portions (not too large). Reasonable prices

Ciao Italia

By michaelsH7241YR |

Excellent meal and service. Been going there for years and it has never been less than superb. I always recommend Ciao to friends and family that go to Orlando.

Very good food!

By Carol b |

THE best Italian food. Atmosphere is very nice. Went the first time while my husband was in a business meeting and had to take him back the next day. Waiters treat you wonderful.

A great Italian restaurant near the Convention Center

By Curiosity722522 |

We had a party of ten and the food and service were excellent. The guests thanked me for finding such an excellent restaurant and I would strongly recommend this as a great experience for out of town guests looking for a restaurant that is authentic in an area where many restaurants are more tourist oriented.

Our best diner experience in Orlando

By PB310 |

Montreal has some of the best italian restaurants but Ciao Italia could show them a thing or two. From the warm welcome to the desert, service was excellent (10/10), the wine was perfect with our choice of Osso Bucco and seafood lasagna. Everything was tasty, well presented and generous. Thanks to the Navarra family for the best dinner experience we have had since we started our vacation. Well worth the few extra $.

Food is excellent but............

By Dan K |

Six of us followed a recommendation and visited for a somewhat early dinner. There were many open tables and we were seated almost immediately. The waiters and a very effusive older gentleman whom I took to be the owner were very personable and made suggestions. One of our group bought a couple bottles of very good (and expensive) wine and appetizers and both were very good. Our dinners were excellent and we had a great time and took pictures with waiters and owner. Not counting wine or appetizer our average tab was $50 including a 20% tip. Great food and experience. However, our friend who had bought the wine and appetizers accidently left his credit card in the restaurant. The next day when he called the credit card company to see that it hadn't been stolen and used elsewhere he was told that an additional $60 tip had been added to his bill.

Unexpected Authentic Italian Family Restaurant

By Steven C |

Upon our hotel check-in, we're unexpected to find this Italian restaurant just adjacent to where we stayed at the Double Tree - Seaworld Orlando. While it's a family-run to offer a varieties of traditional Italian dishes, we had ordered lobster bisque, steamed calamari, zuppa di verdur in addition to 3 types of pasta dish, services were quick and they all tasted good.

Disappointed

By M4925 |

Look I’m not from New York but I am from Jersey and I believe I know good Italian food. This was not the place. I had lasagna and my wife had linguine and clam sauce. The clams did not appear to be fresh and there was not enough garlic. Her opinion just so, so. My lasagna was kinda of flat and the sauce was watery. My opinion just so,so also. Oh, I forgot, we had antipasto on which the meat was tough and was light on cheese and other items. We normally would try for dessert but we went elsewhere.

Excellent and Authentic

By ElvisLovedMemphis |

This is a true gem found in a strip mall close to Aquatica. I highly recommend the Lasagna and Rigatoni Ragu but don’t overlook the chicken dishes. They have a huge wine selection and the Limoncello Mascarpone dessert is fantastic.

Food was good until we saw what they do.

By Golfpa1 |

This restaurant only serves beer, wine or soda, which is fine for us. We ordered two glasses of wine while we decided what we wanted for dinner. The main waiter, who may be the owner, was very fast and high strung. We took a while to decide and he made the comment that he is open until 11pm. We ordered the bruschetta as an appetizer and two orders of linguine with shrimp in a scampi sauce. Both the appetizer and the entrees were good. We each received 7 nice size shrimps each. The meal was fine despite the waiter’s anxiety. Once thing we did notice was after each customer left the restaurant the waiter took the table cloth off and shook the crumbs onto the floor and then using the SAME tablecloth used the reverse side of the tablecloth. This is both disgusting and unsanitary. We noticed this was done on at least 5 tables while we were sitting there. For this reason we will NOT visit this restaurant again and cannot recommend it.

A pice of Italy in Orlando

By RAUL YBARRA Y. |

Everybody can open an Italian restaurant: pasta & pizza, but the authentic flavor is not easy to found. Then you visit Ciao Italia Ristorante, in a no pretentious but decent place, and bang!, you can enjoy the aroma, the flavores, the textures of traditional Italian food.

Bad service, bland food, very noisy

By Lahpug |

My friend and I came here last night and were immediately turned off by the lack of friendliness. Our waiter, who I now know, was named Emilio. He had the personality of a wet mop. We sat down and he came over and said “are you ready?”. Not hello, not welcome, no introducing himself etc. We gave him our drink order which included a bottle of wine. 5 minutes later, people came in and sat down next to us and I heard him read the specials to them. Within seconds, they also already had their bottle of wine on their table and we’re still sitting there. We called him over and asked why you didn’t read us the specials and he mumbled something that sounded like “oh I thought the other guy was going to do it”. What other guy? You’re our waiter!!! After we approached him about that, he said “well where are you from? Why, Emilio, does that make a difference??? So my friend and I shared a pasta dish for appetizer which included penne with sausage and some broccoli rabe. It was edible but not enjoyable and it came out lukewarm. For our entrées I had the pollo Ciao Italia which was a stuffed chicken and my friend have the stuffed pork chop. Mine was very bland and my friend said the quality of meat was not that good. Then we ordered desserts which was the best thing on the menu. All in all, food was maybe average, service was terrible or at least Emilio was terrible. I also didn’t like the fact that when Emilio asked us what kind of water we would like, flat or sparkling and I said flat that I’d have to pay $6.50 for a bottle. Also, it is EXTREMELY loud in here. Definitely not a place for a first date. We won’t be returning.

didn't break the bank and was delicious with good service

By georgib150 |

Went with a group of 15 folks on business. Not an easy task for any restaurant. They were jammed. Little place in a strip mall far exceeded any expectations.

Finest Italian Restaurant in the Convention Center Area

By Tom C |

This is the 6th year in a row we have returned to Ciao Italia to be served by the finest waiter Fabiano. He creates a memorable experience with the very best recommendations. From the fine wine to awesome shareable seafood appetizer to the fabulous entrees! We all feel like we visited our uncle ‘Fabiano’ and were treated to the finest Italian meal one could possibly imagine. Our group cannot wait until we come again next year?

Always Great for Business!

By FrequentTraveler1225 |

I try to get here at least once per trip and they never disappoint! Great Italian, inexpensive and authentic!

We were told the kitchen closes at 10 we had our dinners delivered and wanted to order other dishes and at 9:40 PM

By Harold S |

We were told the kitchen closes at 10 we had our dinners delivered and wanted to order other dishes and at 9:40 PM The server said sorry the kitchen is closed we also ordered lasagna that must’ve been reheated and refrigerated for about two weeks. Needless to say that was taken off of our bill so we had two meatballs and split a bowl of lobster bisque for dinner. totally unacceptable for a restaurant

Very good...

By RICART75 |

We stopped in for a late dinner; and were overall, satisfied with the experience. The restaurant has a more upscale ambiance, then one might expect from a strip-mall facility. Our server, Sandro, was professional and intermittently attentive. Rotating with other servers, our service overall seemed somewhat brusque. The penne with sausage, and the fettuccine Alfredo (also with sausage); were both quite flavorful. The tartufo and gelato provided a nicely decadent ending, to a satisfying meal. The food is somewhat pricey, but it is quite tasty.

Nice, if a little pricey though.

By Neal W |

No booking but welcomed in by Emilio and shown to a nice table. Huge portions ala Florida so you can share starters and mains and still filly our bellies!! As an example the Bruchetta Pomodorro has 4 slices!! Note that this Restaurant accepts the "Eat and Play card" so you can get 20% discount. Stupidly we forgot ours this evening!

Ordinary Food

By NJtraveler48 |

Generally, ordinary and uninspired Italian food. My dish included polenta and I asked for risotto instead. Bill included an $11 additional charge for that change before my objection reduced it to $3. No additional charge should have been made, or the upcharge explained when the order was taken.

One of the best business meals for 12

By gotchatoday28 |

The food here is outstanding. Great selection of wine to match the awesome selection of food. We had a business dinner with 12 people. I really liked they Sat us at a round table where we could all talk to each other. In other restaurants we've been seated in rectangular tables not so conducive to interacting. The rigatoni sicilian was a delight along with the caprese salad. Buon appetito !

Back for a second time!

By Craig B |

We went to this restaurant when here on a business trip way back in 2002. The food was good then and it still is now in 2018. Extensive menu - tons of choice. I had the stuffed pork chop and the pasta e fagioli - my wife and my son had the seafood fettuccine - excellent sauce and lots of big shrimp and scallops. We all enjoyed dessert - VERY good - loads of genuine Italian choices - Tartufo was the bomb! The waiter was a bit of a comedian - this service level was a bit lacking - forgot a few things and had to be reminded, but he made up for it with his personality. Definitely will be back.

You can't go wrong

By mike a |

Excellent food and sevice, I'd highly recommend! The prices were reasonable and atmosphere was very inviting. The appetizers were excellent as well.

Excellent food and value

By curts |

I enjoyed my first visit so much I returned two nights later for a second excellent meal. I've been to Italy multiple times on business and will attest to Ciao having tasty Italian food.

Great food in a homey atmosphere!

By Molly D |

I highly recommend this restaurant! The food is excellent (and reasonably priced) and the atmosphere is elegant! The staff is genuine and caring!

Disappointing Vidd see it

By BoardingPass234153 |

Overall an average meal. The restaurant was very nice looking. The waiter was a bit unfriendly but did his job. We order lobster bisque and it was ok. The bread was delicious. We ordered chicken parmigiana and it tasted like a frozen patty reheated. It was delivered to the table on the warm side, not hot. The sauce didn’t have much flavor, kinda salty. The pasta was cooked properly but the sauce didn’t help it. We ordered veal parmigiana and it was average. We also ordered lobster ravioli and it didn’t have much flavor. For the prices they charge the meal should have been better. Overall not a great experience. Hopefully this was a bad night for the kitchen.

Must Go When In Orlando for Business or Pleasure

By Tony C. |

Each time I visit Orlando I go to Ciao Italia for the excellent food and service. A family owned, authentic Italian restaurant, with great atmosphere. I highly recommend it for any occasion.

Nice place

By JankanHH |

Nice decoration and Italian music from the speakers not too loud like many other places in USA. Food was very good too. Will come back next time in Orlando.

Disappointing

By Pauline F |

I really wanted to like this restaurant because of the favorable reviews. But the food is not great and the wine is overpriced. The cheapest bottle was $42. Really? My linguine with clam was utterly tasteless. No garlic flavor at all! Tomato mozzarella salad was salty as was the wild boar pasta. Service was fine and bread was good but very pricey overall. Can't recommend this place.

Overall A Good Choice!

By michelewave04 |

We had reservations for 7 family members, my son his wife, the three children, my husband and I. I wanted to not have our meals included on our families bill. So, I asked the waiter if we could have a separate check for my husband and I. He responded in an angry and rude manner, “We are too busy so you cannot have a separate check!” I do understand how hard it can be having to work on Christmas, but there is no reason to be rude to a customer. We were going to order an appetizer and dessert, but we were afraid to do that because we didn’t want our son (if he wanted to pay the whole bill) to incur further expenses. So, the restaurant lost some money with us. Otherwise, the other waiter who served us was very pleasant and accommodating. The menu had lots of choices. We all had different entrees and each one was prepared well and delicious. The bread was very good as well. The prices were not bad. We enjoyed our meal and noticed this restaurant was full and very popular. It is a nice place. But, unfortunately, because of the nasty waiter, we will not return!

Good not great. I’d try elsewhere

By JOEY4747 |

1. Ambiance - Surprisingly nice given its in a plaza. Detailed nicely and well appointed. Visited New Year’s Eve around 730 pm 2. Customer service- our server was good. Attentive but got lost when the place got busier. Came back when it’s time to pay hmmmm. 3. Food - just ok. Some dish are good but not mind blowing great. I ordered the special stuffed veal ($60) I asked the server if I can substitute the mashed potatoes for pasta and he said “ of course” asked if I wanted marinara with it so I said yes. When I got our bill , I was charged $9 for a kids spaghetti which came on a tiny plate that cannot be considered a kids meal. It’s a “SUBSTITUTE’ if there was a price difference, then tell the customer. I don’t mind coughing out $300 for a dinner for 2 but that’s highway robbery. Worse, never got my mashed potatoes. The calamari had no taste for it being sautéed. And the spaghetti ? You’re an Italian restaurant. How can you mess that up? Olive Garden who is a pseudo Italian restaurant at best makes it better. It’s like telling an Asian guy like me to make the best rice and I give you undercooked rice. It just doesn’t compute. Then when we needed to bring some food home. We were handed the box to do it ourselves. If you’re trying to be upscale with your looks and pricing, play the part. When I asked our server why this is, he said it’s because people didn’t want their food touched by other people so I said; ‘ only a spoon or fork will touch the food” at least ask the customers if they want or need help. Again, play the part. Expensive food should meet the level of service. Overall - I would go elsewhere. They’re not bad but definitely not great. And for a pricy meal, shouldn’t you settle for something better? On top of that, charging me $9 for a substitute? Tell me that there’s an up charge and make it the customers choice not the server or the restaurant. Being coy turns patrons off. If you can’t be honest with pricing, how can I believe your quality and integrity? I’m surprise with the 4 star. The mozeralla cheese was good the veal was good but the rest? There’s better Italian restaurant in the I drive area that is a guarantee

Pasta May Have Been A Better Choice

By tag-about |

Hubby ordered salmon, which was fishy tasting, and I ordered the fish of the day. It was so fishy tasting I couldn't even eat it. Since this is an Italian restaurant, maybe if we had ordered pasta it would have been a better experience.

This is a gem. Loved it.

By Ron R |

Wonderful dining experience — great, busy vibe — yet, intimate possibilities. Friendly wait staff. But, the food! Perhaps the best Bolognese sauce I have ever had in a restaurant. I also had the bean-pasta soup — and it was very tasty. Great wine selection by the glass and espresso to close out the meal. Highly recommended.

Disappointed!

By Anna S |

My linguine with clams was tasteless and bland. Hubby’s dish, veal parm, was just passable. Their chef must have been out.

WOW... in a strip mall

By Redcurls875 |

H-angry was our best thought for the night we did not want to go to far into the city and remember the complex by our previous hotel just up the street. Clean, great service, really good food. Calamari and Lamb are a must!! you pay for quailty.

Quite dinner with my wife

By Eugene M |

What a wonderful dining experience. Had a great dinner of “Pappardelle al chingiale con porcini” translation Pappardelle, Wild Boar & Porcini mushrooms in a cherry tomato sauce. Both my wife and I had the same dinner but it looks like an excellent menu. This was a real Italian dinner which you don’t often find. We will be back next time we are in Orlando. Highly recommend!

Good food and generous portions

By JeanfromFL |

Three of us dined at Ciao Italia and enjoyed the food very much. The pappardelle with wild boar was very much like we had in Tuscany. The pasta with ragu was different from many other restaurants which made it enjoyable. The portions are large, especially the appetizers, they are definitely large enough to share. We enjoyed our dinner so much, two us returned a few nights later. The staff is lovely.

Delicious!!

By Giovanna |

This is one of my favorite restaurants when visiting Orlando. The food is absolutely delicious and the service is impeccable. Carmelo was our waiter last night, he was wonderful and he suggested the braised short ribs which were out of this world. I highly recommend Ciao Italia!

Great Old World Italian Food

By Neildash1 |

Very nice restaurant. Called and spoke to Carmelo about servers being masked. He said most are not but he would and that he will care for us at the table. The menu is not large but has a wide selection of choices. The wine list also has lots of choices. The pasta e fagiole was excellent. Old world classy soup, balanced perfectly with broth, beans and pasta. The pappardelle with wild boar and cherry tomato sauce was superb! My wife asked for chicken scampi (not on the menu) and there was no hesitation to say “yes”. It was delicious! The homemade tiramisu was light, flavorful and delicate. Will return next time in Orlando. Bravissimo!

Great anniversary meal for party of four.

We were looking for Italian, and found exactly what we were looking for. Excellent menu, well priced, good variety. Attentive and entertaining staff. All meals wEre tasty, full portions, and well-served. We will return next trip.

Ciao Was perfect

By Resort14331535358 |

We decided to try Ciao Italia after hearing it is the sister restaurant of Vincenzo Cucina Italiana and we are so glad we did. The place had such a warm, intimate vibe that made the whole experience feel special. The food was just as amazing, especially the risotto which was creamy and perfectly balanced, and the lamb which was tender and full of flavor. You can tell the same level of care and quality goes into everything here. A true gem!

Great Italian food

We found this place on open table and we wanted to go someplace nice for Mother’s Day, and wow this place didn’t disappoint. Food was amazing and our server was great, food tasted great and was well plates, we will definitely go again

Delicious Italian

By Tony H |

We enjoyed fantastic service and food at Ciao Italian. The first night we were supposed to be booked there was a mix up, the Mater'D was overwhelmed by the confusion created by the many patrons. Thankfully we returned the next night. The waiter was a true Italian who knew his restaurant, the meals & wines to match. We had a combination of Specials (Lamb Shanks & Fish) , one of our party had the veal. The lamb Shanks were to die for, absolutely delicious!!!! The service was fantastic, We were never rushed , we enjoyed our dinner and good company, this is a restaurant worth returning to over and over.

Just an amazing Italian restaurant that is not over done

Enjoyed a great evening together with friends in this beautiful restaurant. I had the wild boar pappardelle and oh my gosh...amazing. Antipasta was perfect and authentic. Wine selection was great and deserts were amazing. Would go again and again and again if I lived in O-town.

Horrible!!!!

By Nikki-DC |

We ordered given the good reviews and it was horrible! The veal and chicken were tiny and over cooked to the point we couldn’t eat it. There was no sauce at all. The noodles were undercooked and dry with no sauce. The portions were tiny given the prices. We ordered two entrees and an appetizer for three people and were hungry. I called and they said they couldn’t do anything if I didn’t drive the food back so they could view it themselves. Order pizza from Flippers. So so much better!!

Dinner To Go - A Winner!!

By Vicki C |

We had the grouper and the spaghetti with homemade meatballs to go!! Oh my goodness, this food was so delicious we were tempted to drive back over for more! But - we were too stuffed because we ate every single bite!! Can’t rave enough about the food - and the to go order had everything we needed including dipping sauce for the bread. Food, Presentation, Staff - all five stars!!

Great food and service, but a bit bossy.

By Victoria |

My husband and I visited Ciao Italia Ristorante last night, and we had a wonderful dining experience. The food was absolutely delicious, showcasing authentic Italian flavors that we thoroughly enjoyed. The service was also great, with attentive staff who made sure we had everything we needed. However, I did find one downside: the waiters came across as a little bossy and borderline rude at times. This could be a cultural thing, but it did slightly detract from the overall experience. Despite this minor issue, we left feeling satisfied and happy with our meal. Overall, a very good experience, and we would definitely consider returning!

Just average Italian fare

By Blossom055 |

Nice atmosphere with a nice menu selection. The in house baked bread was delicious and the seasoned dipping oil was excellent. My salad Italiano was good, typical spring greens with tomatoes and onions. Our daughter enjoyed her caprese salad with buffalo mozzarella. She also ordered spaghetti and meatballs. She really only wanted a side of spaghetti, but was told she had to order the full plate of spaghetti and meatballs. We tried the meatballs and though they did taste homemade, they were extremely salty! My husband and I each had the veal parmigiana with pasta. The pasta was cooked al dente, which was perfect and the sauce was mellow, not over seasoned, but again, salty. The veal was absolutely awful! It was thick and the breading was mushy, yuk! I couldn’t eat it because the consistency was making me gag!!! Veal parmigiana should be crispy. Of course, we are snowbirds from Rhode Island and we have the best Italian restaurants, so I’m spoiled. For dessert the creme brûlée was devine. We were in Orlando to visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom and we were hoping to find some good, authentic Italian food . We were very disappointed and would not recommend.

Great restaurant off the beaten path

By annesK3914DU |

Great Italian restaurant off the beaten path. Buried in a strip mall, food was amazing. Had the black Florida grouper in a light lemon sauce - a spectacular dish, service was wonderful.

Wonderful experience and authentic food

The food was amazing. Service was outstanding. They appeared to be short staffed but our experience was top notch. Food came out in a timely fashion. My seafood risotto was creamy and full of flavor and the seafood was fresh and delicious. Would recommend for a business dinner or romantic date.

Amazing fresh homemade ravioli

By Sandra48503 |

Melted in my mouth. A delicious pink sauce with chopped tomatoes we on top of a generous portion of ravioli. I've been to Italy many times and make my own, but these were among the best I've ever eaten. Crusty bread the way it should be. Charming and great service.

A perfect Italian meal!

By James M |

This restaurant is just lovely. I had the lamb and my spouse had the spaghetti al ragu. We could not have been happier. The staff recommended a wonderful Italian red that married perfectly with the food. The service was absolutely top-shelf. If you are in Orlando near Seaworld, heck if you are in Orlando I can't recommend this restaurant enough. Family-owned and just perfect!

Most expensive meal during our holiday

By dottyhoward |

7 of us went here for a meal. We asked for water as well as our drinks and were brought two bottles of water which we were charged $9 each for - the only place in two weeks of our holiday that did this - everywhere else water was free. The meal was average but was the most expensive meal during our two week stay - and this included meals at really nice Steakhouses and a big meal at the Hard Rock Cafe at Universal ! Felt like we got well and truly ripped off here and needless to say, we did not go back.

Ho hum 😒

I was expecting authenticity, unfortunately, not the case here. To pricey for the quality of food. Waste of time for us.

Don’t let the location fool you

By Rick+Jan |

Located in a strip mall close to the Orange County Convention Center. The food was spectacular! I had the grouper, wife had the veal parm and daughter had a pasta dish. The service was excellent as well. I just wish we lived closer as it would be a go to place. We travel through Italy 2/3 times a year on business so we know good Italian food. This place in Florence would have a line outside the door.

good food and service

By Resort386473 |

My wife had the special veal and I had veal cutlet parm and both were amazing. service was great and all so friendly. Would definitely go there again during next visit. You will not be disappointed if you go there.

Very nice dinner

By mmmbank |

The staff was very nice and helpful in explaining their specials. The food was very good. Their veal chop special was huge, but the quality of the chop was only fair. I expected a better chop.

Would not go back

By bmglazewski |

We made a reservation at Ciao Italia for our 1 year wedding anniversary. We were quickly greeted by a server who didn't introduced himself, but just asked if we wanted tap water or bottled water. Later another gentleman came by to tell us the specials, but we never saw him again. The 1st guy came back, and ask if someone had told us the specials, and then asked what we wanted. No one went over the menu, talked about the wines or showed any interest in us. This is the service that I expect for a $30 meal at chili's and not a meal of over a $100 at a fine dining Italian restaurant. I ordered a stuffed chicken with goat cheese and peppers, and the chicken was very dry not to mention the portion size was extremely small for the price. My husband did enjoy is meal, but we've been to other less expensive places where he was more excited about the food, and he just seemed OK with this meal. Everything was served very quickly which made us feel rushed. They knew it was our one year anniversary and no one made mention of it. I don't expect anything for free, but often you get a dessert, or at least someone to acknowledge that you're celebrating an event. We did not feel special, and did not feel that the meal was worth the price. We will not be returning.

Nice dinner

By RADCTurton |

We ate at this Italian restaurant recently after a long drive from Key West for a sleep over before flying home from Orlando to the UK. We chose it as it was within a short walk from the hotel. A nice welcome was afforded on entry and the waiters were attentive, efficient and friendly. We chose Bruschetta, Seafood Linguine, Veal Francese, two glasses of wine and a Tiramisu. The bill was $92.67 or £72. The food was well cooked and was just the ticket after the 8 hour drive. Was is good, Yes. Was it delicious, er just about.

Amazing Food and Service for a Small Wedding Party

By Doris & Rolando |

We choice Ciao Italia as a recommendation from my daughter and Son in Law who had dined here. We had a small wedding group, and it was the most ideal location for us to have dinner after the Church Ceremony. We choice the Amalfi Menu for our guest to give them a choice of fish or meat. Everyone told us how great their meal was. The service was spectacular as our two waiters never left a glass unfilled and were extremely professional and loving with all our guest, we cannot say enough great things about this place.

Terrible

By svdssvds |

Cold, some unfriendly peoply and manager. Wines were expensive. Lasagne was cold and was served while still eating the appetizer. So returned to kitchen. The meatballs in the spaghetti was like catfood... no passion in the plate at all. It was a while ago we had such a terrible dinner.

Great food and service

Was in town for a convention and found this restaurant. Food, service, ambiance were excellent. Would definitely recommend

First time here

By GilSoulpr |

Very welcoming reception. Sean from Sicily (his Mom was a fan of Sean Connery that’s why the name) Was our server and did an outstanding job. The food was excellent. I had the lamb shank and it was to die for. Wife had the lobster ravioli with scallops and shrimp which was also excellent. This was our first time at this place and we will definitely go back. This place is a gem

Fabiano, our waiter was the best (food was too)!!!

By 263sandyn |

Linguine/shrimp & scallops were excellent! So good was everything we dined there back to back nights! Rigatoni/Bolognese sauce was perfect too. Homemade tiramisu was the best we ever had. On top of excellent food, Fabiano made the meal ever more special!!! Will be back the next time we are in Orlando.
