Ate an early dinner here with some family, and I think we ordered almost one of everything from the Happy Hour menu as well as a chamomile bourbon cocktail, that was light and really refreshing. The mussels in cream sauce were to die for....they were the biggest mussels I had ever seen. Also sampled some a spicy spaghetti dish that was was really tasty.

OK I love pizza. But this was one of the best. You can not add forget to get an entrée and plan on taking both home with you for the next day. Better plan on filling up both days on left over pizza and whatever entre you added to your dinning pleasure.

We had pizza here on a Saturday evening in July. The restaurant is popular and initially we were seated at a large bar, before being given an outside table. Service was attentive and around 20 minutes to deliver four different pizza choices. All excellent. We drank PInot Gris and the Ex Novo local IPA - both excellent choices. My only negative was attention to detail in the outside seating area - an adjacent table had a mussel shell, matchbox and other debris beneath it. I didn't get the impression the area had been swept on a daily basis.

A wonderful spot with good happy hour food that's generously portioned, tasty, and reasonably priced (try the mussels). Sit at the bar and you can watch the pizza chef at work and mouth watering pizzas go in and out of the wood-fired oven.

Very good wood fire oven pizza. On a par with Ken's Artisan Pizza and aPizza Scholls. Comfortable but noisy atmosphere, good service. In my opinion, one of the better new restaurants on re-invented SE Division.

My boyfriend and I came here once last year for a date and loved it! We went again last night and had an amazing time. The restaurant was full so we sat at the bar. The bartender did a great job taking care of us even though she was busy. It was awesome to watch pizzas getting made! We just got back from Italy and this by far is the most authentic Italian pizza we've had in Portland. We ordered a bottle of wine and a charcuterie board as well. Great service, great good, cute romantic atmosphere. No complaints, will be back many times

I ordered a pizza from here. I had it delivered to my hotel. The pizza was very good. It was thin crust and well made. I’d order from here again.

After a bad experience at what is considered the best pie in Portland by many, we researched and found this place. Their crust is perfection and not burnt. The sauce is fresh and the toppings excellent but our only complaint, and we have had three different pizzas, is that they are not generous with either the sausage or the pepperoni which are excellent and housemade. The service is superb and the prices are reasonable. I love this place and have been there three times within a month. In the future I will order extra sausage and pay for it.

hello! my party of 4 walked in and i was about knocked over by 2 employees...[sarcasm - sorry to be a paying patron in the way]...then we were seated and consumed our fare. we left and the waiter, mr. joshua b., attacked my friend because of the tip$ he left. i do declare that a tip$ is discretionary and not required. it's based upon service and you're lucky to get anything. i think he either transposed the # he meant to leave or with the dark lighting he forgot a zero/0 or maybe he felt that was an appropriate tip$...either way the staff's reply is 'thank you and have a nice evening' and not to be physically confronted and attacked on the street outside based on what you feel you're 'owed'...thanks and have a beautiful and sunny day!!

We had a great experience here. . .but probably because we came after 9PM on Tuesday night. Our server was super nice and friendly! . . .a middle-aged guy with Aloha shirt on and pleasant smile. :) I don't have high expectations for "american" bar/pizza joints, but this place is a notch above. We took advantage of the Happy hour menu which is a good deal. Food Menu: Good for 3 people. . .couldn't stuff down another one if we were hungrier. .. . + Pizza. . . nice! The marinara tasted tomato-y. + Chicken wings. . .great spicy dipping sauce. + Mussels . . . bread nicely grilled and sauce was yum. + Burger . . . $6. . . satisfying and homemade Ketchup. .. yum Alerbier. . . good. Rosemary cocktail. . .yum. Yes all people have to order a drink to participate in Happy Hour. I think that is fair.

This was really a standout dinner. The pizza was great, thin crust and pretty authentic. Could have been a little crunchier crust, but the toppings were fresh and a nice blend of flavors. However, I thought the grilled calamari was the real standout for the meal. It was so tender, not chewy at all. It had a charcoal grilled flavor served on a bed of white Italian beans. If you love calamari, don't miss it. Service was great, wine list good and the gelato very good. We would definitely go back.

SE Division has more restaurants than there are planes stacked up over SFO on a foggy morning. And they mostly provide good value for the money. What sets Cibo apart is its casual atmosphere with outdoor seating for sunny afternoons; an invitation to go with the standard italian and Pacific NW fusion dishes, and a wonderful wine list in addition to the standard micro beers. Even mid evening this place was packed, but a drink at the bar held us until seated. Service was attentive, friendly, with good followup--though I have no idea how, over the long run, this place will be able to keep its server Christine, who will no doubt have other offers as the restaurant businesses on this street begin to fight over market share and superior staff. The Chianti was light and dry but with a solid backbone and lingering aftertaste of fruit and berries. See that pizza in the picture? That's what I and my daughter ordered, and it was perfect for both of us (along with a wonderful light salad). This is a great place for an intimate outing or one where you want to be able to carry on a conversation; if you are looking for casual but elegant surroundings; want to avoid blowing your whole food budget in one dinner; and want to keep many members of large groups or families happy with the range of foods. Ice cream for dessert down the street at Salt and Straw (the local standout) will finish your evening perfectly. Why won't Cibo open a restaurant like this in my hometown.

I stopped by Cibo one afternoon just by chance and discovered a delicious hidden gem (well, hidden to me!). I was excited to see stromboli on the menu because you don't find it very often on the West Coast. Their cocktail offerings all sounded wonderful and I had a difficult time deciding on one. The drink was as delicious as its description. The stromboli was fantastic. I've been back several times to try the pizza and the mussels. The atmosphere is nice. The waitstaff is very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend stopping into this neighborhood treat.

Had an amazing meal here today. The pizza is one of the best I had in a long time. Perfect crush, sauce and the presentation on a wooden board. Other food items ordered were great also. Very good service and great street seating. Only thing lacking is the selection of draft beers.

I have been here for Happy Hour on several occasions. They have a great burger and wonderful pizza. They also pour a generous glass of wine.

Ok, as far as recommendations from a hotel go, They're batting 500 but promise you they hit it OUT OF THE PARK when they recommended I go to Cibo. I had the Margareta pizza, added shrooms and half Itslian sausage, half pepperoni. OMG GUARDA KE BELLO... Translation Italian for " LOOK GOW BEAUTIFUL". The pizza not only looked beautiful it tasted amazing and in fact probably one of the best pizza's I've had for a very long time. Phillip the pizza guy is not only fantastic at his craft, he's personable, engaging and being up front and centre, is sincerely interested in knowing you're enjoying your meal and having a good time. GREAT FRONT MAN... Management I say... The octopus was divine, the muscles out of this world. You couldn't soup off enough muscle sauce if they brought you a pitcher of the stuff!!! Yumm YUMM YUMM! Such a great Portland treat. Enjoy one and all.., you'll be baaaaacccckkk!!!!

This is a great pizza place, so my ordering the pasta salmone was not wise as the pasta was soggy and felt pre-prepped. However, if you love Tuscany, try the Cecina here. It is really nice, share-able, and good value. Likewise the Pizza. Good selection of wines and beers and an active bar.

I almost don't want to review this because it's becoming so popular. They've got a fantastic happy hour. Great food, great prices, great service. We like to sit at the bar to watch them swirl the pizza dough, mix the drinks, and cook the pasta. It's entertaining. Love this place.

We love the thinner crust, so one isn't stuffed with dough. Instead the vibrant flavors of the tomato sauce, housemade pork fennel sausage, and mushrooms were the stars of the show. We live nearby so will definitely be back! We look forward to when we can eat out again but for now pick-up works.

What awesome fire baked pizza this place has. I can't say enough about how great the prices and food are at Cibo's. The atmosphere is excellent as well. Go for happy hour and enjoy a large pizza for only $5....what a deal. The mussels are a great choice as well....as a matter of fact everything we tasted here were excellent to the palate.

Cibo is basic Italian done from scratch, without pretense, and definitely dialed up on the flavor. This ain't a pasta-and-sauce with red-checkered tablecloth deal either, though they do have pastas and salads and some of the stuff that would not be out of place at a traditional Italian joint. Oh yea ...and pizza! That big beautiful wood-fired oven cranks out some great pies, and they have a decent happy hour. We just like Cibo because it brings a warm and comfortable neighborhood feel without being divey or over the top foofy. Good food, good wine, good beer, good cocktails in an inviting space with good lighting served by knowledgeable folks who want to make you happy. I got no problem with that. Tip: the pizza guy is right there making the pie from scratch so if you want it well-done, just let him know. We did. Also: the place is usually super-busy on weekends and happy hour (lines) so bear that in mind.

Went there for Happy Hour yesterday. We sat at the bar and watched most everything come out of the state of the art pizza oven. If you go, you MUST check out this oven! The regular menu looked great, and the HH menu is an amazing value!

I was there when they opened at 5pm, hoping to get a good deal on their happy hour menu. I ordered the INSALATA MISTA and FUNGHI e SALSICCIA pizza. No HH menu items ordered. It's a cool little place to hang out at the open bar and watch the cooks make all the food. It has a chill vibe. My salad was super small and unexciting for $6.50 When my pizza came it was ginormous. It can easily feed two. It came on a wooden platter with scissors. Apparently, PDX can't be bothered to slice pizza for you when it's almost $18, so they give you scissors to do the work for them. It seems to be a trend. More costly the pizza, you get a side of scissors with it. It LOOKED good as you can see by the photo. When I cut it with the scissors and then took a bite, I couldn't even hold it. It was soft, droopy, soggy, and most of the toppings just slid off. It's a sad looking Dali pizza painting. I think they overdid it on the caramelized onions and not enough fresh mushrooms. In fact, I don't recall tasting or seeing many. The one I happened to see and ate, it tasted like they used canned mushrooms (ick). This is probably one of the soggiest crusted pizza I've had. Guys, go back to the test kitchen or Italy and improve the crust, please! Besides the overpriced small salad and droopy soggy pizza, the service was relatively good.

Went here as part of a group of four friends, and we were all ecstatic about our choice! When you walk in you can smell the wood burning in the pizza oven and you start to get hungry immediately. We had two pizzas and an order of mussels. The food was delicious. The cocktails were also delicious. Service was prompt and friendly! The interior of the restaurant is smartly decorated, clean, and with perfect lighting to set up a very laid back atmosphere. We were there during the late night happy hour, which saved us about $12 on our two pizzas so that was also a bonus. I can whole-heartedly recommend this place!

Have been wanting to try the pizza here so snuck in for the $7 happy hour margharita pizza. First nice selection of beverages, had a great IPA from breakside and my wife had the house rose for $5. Note you must order drinks for the pizza deal. The pizza, was very very good but not the best I'vd had in portland (Firehouse, handsome, etc), but among the best. The wine special was a Barbera d'Alba for $8 was excellent and we almost ordered a bottle the deals were so good-about 50-60% markup from retail-a steal for sure. We didn't stay for dinner but given our experience we would return.

Happy Hour at Cibo is a great deal. Between 5 & 6 pm there are a number of delicious menu items from which to choose and the wine list is excellent. I particularly like having a glass of Chianti Ruffino, sharing the pizza margherita with a friend and enjoying a traditional Caesar salad - with anchovies! The fire from the pizza oven gives the space a welcoming feel and the wait staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Cibo is rather small, so get there early to be sure of getting a table. You won't regret it.

A great pizza in a town of great pizza. Portland is a bit of a food town so to find a restaurant that stands out is wonderful. Cibo has a giant brick oven, a very creative cocktail list, a strong wine selection and inventive food like grilled octopus & fried potato over arugula salad or my personal favorite, Pizza with Fig jam, prosciutto di parma, arugula, chevre, & mozzarella. Great food in a lively and casual atmosphere.

We've been here a couple of times with my son and daughter-in-law whenever we visit them in Portland. We love the Margherita Pizza and the eggplant parmesan. Great atmosphere and great service each time. A short wait without a reservation, but worth the wait!

The food is pretty good. The service is ... well, I wondered where the service was. Had to ask for most things twice before they appeared. The best thing we had was the cecina -- a garbanzo bean flour, moist flatbread with nice toppings. The pizza is Portland chic -- not a lot of cheese nor sauce, but a lot of arugula. That's great in a salad but in a pizza, maybe not so much. The pie was OK, maybe above average, but not memorable.

Stopped into this restaurant while on Portland weekend trip, and was not disappointed. Luckily, we are Pizza Nerds and were able to get seats at the large wrap around bar near the awesome Italian 1/2 wood fired, 1/2 gas oven with a revolving interior wheel and were able to chat with Pizza Master “Mike”, who was super cool hard working guy, who wa busting out fresh pies at a break neck pace. He said he normally does over 150 to 190 pizzas on a good night. Other Customers all seemed very pleased with their meals, and this is really a nice neighborhood type spot in SE Portland. Fresh ingredients and good beer and drink selections. Will definitely go back. BELLA CIBO!!

everything was great up until then. we departed the restaurant and Mr. Joshua B., waiter, assaulted me on the sidewalk as we were walking to our car.

This is our second visit in two weeks. Love this place. Super friendly attentive staff. First trip ordered off the menu the Stromboli and an asparagus seasonal salad. Both were delicious. Second ordered off the happy hour menu pollo fritto yum!!! Added a super tasty Caesar salad. Perfect amount of food for the two of us.

We were looking for a bite to eat on the way to a class, and their happy hour menu looked good, so we tried it. Now we go every time we have the class. First, the pizza is great! The extra toppings aren't necessary since the cheese comes with an amazing crust (almost sweet, but not really) and sauce (just plain good), but try adding on if you want. We did, but we're going back to cheese next time - don't want to hide the sauce and crust. The pasta is spicy, but varies on the hot content. You may get a lot of kick. The house wine is good, but we've moved on to some better wines. I've even tried a few of the specialty drinks and they were well mixed and delicious. The waiter/waitress was friendly and gave excellent suggestions. I've been giving very large tips, and loving doing so since they are so much better than at some other places I have been.

We arrived in town with 2 dogs in tow after a several hour road trip. Our accommodation hosts told us about Cibo's happy hour menu and let us know that we could likely have our dogs with us at outside tables. After confirming that happy hour was in session and our dogs were welcome, we took our seats outside, where it was uncharacteristically warm for the time of year. We shared two happy hour food items: a spicy spaghetti dish, and some mussels in a tomato-based sauce, served with grilled ciabatta bread. Staff was so wonderful - they brought us a water dish for the dogs and were attentive to our needs. Price was right as was the food (simple spaghetti dish was indeed spicy - might request that they tone that down for our tastes next time if possible). People watching was fabulous too. A wonderful start to our couple of days in Portland.

Cibo was right next door to the Bluebird Guest House where we stayed in Portland. Our first evening in town, we were tired and did not want to walk far for a nice dinner. We had a delightful pizza. Service was great. It was the perfect choice.

My wife and I constantly shop for great happy hours. We recently tried Cibo not really knowing what to expect. What we found was great food at an incredible value. We have now dined at Cibo 3 times including taking others with us to experience this restaurant. Not only was the food great at a reasonable price, but the service was outstanding as well. The margherita pizza for only $5 is full size, very tasty and they do not skimp. The clams and caesar salad are excellent as well. We will be regulars!

My wife and I were introduced to Cibo because it is close to where my daughter and son-in-law live. The food is really outstanding--thin crust pizza, delicious hamburgers, great mussels. Their Happy Hour is from 5-6, and prices are truly amazing. Even without a discount, the food and service are worth eating here.

We've had 3 different pizzas at Cibo's and 3 were really tasty, well cooked and well stocked. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They have also excellent espresso and canollo as well as a great choice of Italian liquors.

The atmosphere was good - nice high ceilings, lots of bar seating, kind of rustic/cool. The service was great - very bubbly bartender! The food was okay, but not enough for us to go back. We ordered red onion rings - great but the aioli was so strong I couldn't eat it, and I really like garlic. The polenta fries were good, but the marinara was pretty tasteless and watery. The chef's special pizza was okay - we've actually had as good as this from a food cart. I didn't try the chicken wings which were breaded and dry with sauce on the side, but my husband didn't care for them. The couple next to us had chicken wings, too, and they were completely raw looking in the middle. They said the bartender said that's how they were supposed to be. Both drinks (manhattan and rosemary sour) was good. The place filled up pretty quickly, so I suggest getting there before 5PM.

the place has a good vibe and the pizza crust was really good. We especially like the Margarita Pizza.

Locals introduced us to their favorite Italian restaurant and it was a very nice experience. This is a busy restaurant but service is quick and friendly. Our group shared pizza and the Tuscan Cecina 'street food' - a really interesting treat.

This place is in walking distance from both the Bluebird and Evermore Guest Houses, and serves a fabulous polenta lasagna that I would order again, even though I'm not a vegetarian. Garlicky and delicious.

To be fair...we only tried the happy hour...but already heard from friends that dinner is exceptional...can't wait to get back. Try the mussels!

food is good, price is even better after 9PM! very affordable for a couple. pizza, mussle, wine and beer, less than $40

We had to wait, but the atmosphere is great and food is yummy. Our waitress was very friendly. Looking forward to trying happy hour next time.

Sometimes, you just want pizza and this small place on /Division Street makes it to perfection. The antipasto plate and salad make fine appetizers, but the pizza is very filling and almost impossible to eat in one sitting. The restaurant was accommodating and willing to make one pizza with two different halves so my wife and I could each have what we wanted. The waiters and waitresses are very friendly, giving the place a homey atmosphere.

We were looking for a place for lunch and had decided on Italian cuisine. This place happened to be open and on the way as we were touring parts of Portland. What a nice stop! Super nice space. Very friendly staff. Great lunch menu and such nice presentation. Some of us had pasta, some had salads. All was great.beautiful bar with huge wood burning oven right in the middle of it. Highly recommend it!

Went out to celebrate a birthday. We wanted pizza, and hadn't tried Cibo's fare yet. As soon as we entered the door, we were greeted by a very kind and amiable host. He made us feel immediately welcomed. Our server was also skilled at being a real person without asserting herself too much into our evening. No snotty personalities here. The food was excellent -- all the way around. The place was hoppin' and a bit loud, but we lucked out and found a table that was somewhat isolated from the madness. We're vegetarians, and found more than enough on the menu to keep us satisfied. We'd go back in a heartbeat.

We arrived (4 adults , 2 kids) on a Friday at 5:30 to a line-up……No problem, there is a neat wine co-op next door so we meandered over there until our name was called. They have a Fri nite $5 Margherita Pizza special but it ends at 6pm……We were 10 minutes late but our server got us in"under the wire"…….BONUS. Great wine by the litre and terrific Caesar salad and onion rings. Best of all………Dinner with drinks for 4 adults and 2 kids was $81……..UNBEATABLE! ! !

This restaurant is only a 10 minute walk from my house and located in a thriving area on Division in SE Portland. I typically belly up to the bar, order a glass of wine and the polenta fries or a gluten free pizza. Service is great, food is great and theyhave a fabulous albeit short happy hour from 5-6. Highly recommend this place!

The pasta dishes were excellent - comfort food on a rainy evening. A cute space and a large wine list.

This is our new go to spot! Happy hour is fantastic and if you can't make for that, no problem, it's still there, just a bit more. The pizza and the pasta are really great. Service is great! We like sitting at the bar watching the pizza guy create his masterpieces or on the other side, the pasta guys creating theirs. It's a great place.

Food is really good. Wait staff friendly. I found it on Open Table and we have been back 3 times and are going tonight. Ceaser salad is to die for. Great neighborhood like place.

Cibo may be fantastic in person, but our experience ordering delivery was awful. We were in Portland for business, staying in a local hotel, and ordered dinner from Cibo. Since we were traveling and didn't have kitchen access, I requested forks and napkins. The food was delivered on time, but no utensils were included- apparently restaurant employees had even asked the delivery driver if he had forks. Seriously? How do you offer delivery services but not provide basics for customers? We ended up eating Caesar salad wit our fingers and using toilet paper for napkins. Not a great experience AT ALL. My husband said his pizza was good, but the crust was so thin it was floppy, so he had to fold the pizza to be able to hold it at all. Just not a good experience for us.

My favorite thing about Cibo isn't the food (though it's quite good), the drinks (ditto), or the service (knowledgable, friendly, efficient)... It's the overall vibe of the place. On most evenings you'll find an eclectic mix of couples, groups of friends young and old, and families. It's the ideal neighborhood gathering place, casual and easygoing, where everyone's having a low-key good time. Excellent wood-fired pizzas, lots of Italian-inspired specials, a good happy hour selection... Cibo's got it all figured out.

Cibo is a great casual, yet classy restaurant. I have only eaten dinner here and find the dinner menu has a good amount of options for just about anyone (including some gluten free). Food is always amazing, fresh and fantastic, well balanced flavors. My favorites are the wood fired pizza and just about any meatless pasta dish. Portions are on the smaller side - if you have a large appetite might want to consider an appetizer to fill you up. Wine list is decent with an average price per glass around $9. They also have a full bar. In good weather, they throw open the large windows which give the restaurant a completely open air feel. A few outdoor tables are also available however, they are right on the sidewalk with Division St. as your back drop. In the winter and cooler months the high ceilings and open architecture along with low lighting and cozy color scheme will immediately releases the stress of the day and allows you to enjoy a relaxed meal. Service has been consistently good and wait staff has always been helpful in selecting a dish that meets my dietary needs or just a good tip on which drink might go best with my dinner choice. Like most of the restaurants in the area, Cibo is in a densely populated neighborhood so expect to the challenges of street parking that comes with the location.

We went for happy hours a few times, it was great and the prices are very good. Delicious crispy pizza, the mussels were very tasty and spaghetti was fresh and tasty as well. Service excellent.

Seating was quick and efficient, and the selection of salads pizzas and drinks, as well as several other dishes was solid. Great place to go for a quick bite, very casual, great pricing and creative dishes with a solid wine and beer list.

Ordered spaghetti with meatball and it was perfect. Just the right amount of spice, sauce and bite. Vibrant place with goodserbing staff and bartender. Pizzas looked enticing, but I was in the mood for spaghetti.

Our family and one of our daughter's friends got together for dinner at Cibo and ordered a Margherita Pizza along with a large Octopus Salad that we all shared. It was a generous portion of both and we totally enjoyed sharing this delicious dinner.

A freind invited me to this place (and I had never heard of it before). SE Division has all sorts of little treasures on it, Pok Pok & Ava Gene's to name a couple…. but Cibo was quite nice! Great happy hour & more. We had a pizza w/smoked proscuitto, mushrooms & fresh mozzarella - spaghetti w/olive oil, garlic & chili's - ceasar salad (served in whole lettuce leaf style, which I love) chicken wings w/a chili dipping sauce (AMAZING chicken wings, not the usual type…they put cinnamon in the batter) and we had skirt steak w/potatoe wedges (with fried sage). Service was delightful and the atmosphere warm and inviting. I can't wait to go back!

Our go to dinner place. Reasonable prices. Great drinks. Small but varied menu Pizzas are good for two. Meatball dish always pleases- just one huge delicious meatball! Burger & steak are good deals and their potatoes rock Happy hour is busy. Worth the wait. Nice interiors. Pizza oven can catch your eyes and hold them. Family friendly.

We were recently on vacation in Portland Oregon. We decided one evening to go to dinner with friends from Seattle, Washington. Cibo was our choice. The atmosphere, the food and the fact that it was convenient made it all the better. I would for sure return to Cibo on my next visit to Portland, Oregon.

I had been to Cibo a few years back for happy hour but this time I was looking for a dinner spot to celebrate my birthday. To my wife's chagrin I chose Cibo at the last minute. She called the restaurant to make a reservation and figured it would be fruitless. Sure enough they were booked. However, even though they were full we mentioned your situation to Jessie @ Cibo and she was able to secure a table for us. We arrived, ordered a drink from the bar and waited for our table and the rest of our party. The bartender brought our drinks and mentioned that my drink was on the house. A very nice surprise. We got seated in a booth and proceeded to order food and drinks We ordered two pizzas, the soppressata and funghi, both excellent. We also ordered a couple salads to share and some mussels. All were well prepared and very delicious. The staff was very attentive and pleasant...we never felt rushed. If you are looking for good food at a decent price with a nice atmosphere, Cibo may be your place.

We returned to Cibo this weekend with a guest from out of town. Again, we had an excellent meal and fine service. The mussels were very good and I always enjoy the Roman meatball and pasta. It is nice to have a restaurant with excellent food, where it doesn't cost you an arm and a leg. Great neighborhood spot.

This is my 3rd time to Cibo's since it has opened. The food is always excellent, our waiter, who was very busy, since, it was Happy Hour, was courteous, efficient, and funny. Not one complaint, other then, I wished, I could eat more!!!

This is a nice little place in SE Portland. We were there on a Sunday night, Labor Day weekend, and the place was packed. Our server, Adrian, was great, super nice kid and very helpful. We were first seated at the bar and the service was super slow up there, so we decided to wait and sit at a table, which was way better. Their bartenders need a little training in the way of simple things, such as "Would you like to see a menu," "I'll be right with you," etc., that go a long way with people that wait 20 minutes just to sit at the bar. Anyway, the beautiful young lady working the front host stand, Logan, was working her butt off trying to keep things running smoothly. She was busing tables, seating people, taking drink orders, delivering food, filling water glasses, she was killing it! I just wanted to give her props because she works SO hard and it was really nice to see. The pizza is fantastic, great crust, and done the way Neopolitan is supposed to be done. They have a very nice wine and drinks list, which should not disappoint anyone. The place itself is kind of rustic with wood tables and very high ceilings with beams, but it does get a little loud, so just be prepared for a little noise. This is a fun place, great pizza, and nice location. We will definitely be back. Prices are about average for Portland, nothing too crazy, but not cheap either. It does get busy, so be prepared to wait a little while for a table.

Went to Cibo with my brother for brunch and it was very filling. We started with coffee of course which was good, then the waiter convinced us we had to try these orange frosted or glazed doughnuts called Bombolone They were excellent. I then ordered the egg sandwich with a side of bacon and it was super huge. The egg sandwich could actually feed two people no problem. As I mentioned the meal was huge and filling, the service was very good and the atmosphere is nice and if you are the "Keep Portland Weird" type you can go across the street to the Adult theatre and expand your mind watching such films as "Forrest Hump" or "Shaving Ryan's Privates". I really don't recommend that, but it is weird.

This restaurant has an extensive happy hour menu including lots of gluten-free options like fried polenta. It's one of the best happy hours in town, especially if you're going because you're hungry and want to score a good dinner deal. Go on a weekday from 5-6 for happy hour and mangia!

Stopped by for supper on our trip to Portland. Ordered pizza and a salad. Both big enough to share! Pizza arrives at the table whole with a pair of scissors. There is only one size pizza which is a 14 inch, I believe. All was tasty and we would return. Waitress was very nice. Nothing negative to say. Had an enjoyable meal.

The margerhita pizza can't be beat. Great crust, at happy hour I think it is five bucks. Good service. Small plates. Located in popular SE area. Near Pok Pok.

Wonderful little restaurant for family dinner. Food was excellent and the wait staff was very friendly and helpful. Little bit of everything pizza and pasta.

We were only in Portland for 2 nights and staying round the corner from this place. We used TA to find it the first night and enjoyed it so much we went back the second night too. Ok, not very imaginative but what the heck. Anyway we started with a shared antipasto plate. It was big, delicious and and at $12 the most amazing value. It comprised some lovely bread, (lots of) olives, two different salamis (lots again) and some delicious smoky prosciutto. Fab. We shared an entree and two glasses of good wine and left happy with relatively little damage to our wallets. Great.

Went at 9pm on Sunday night and happily learned we were there for happy hour. Burger was very good, pasta was ok and gluten free pizza was unusual in a good way. Nice service too.

Portland dining month #2. Hubby and I have eaten many times at the owners former place, Basta's. Was always good. We really enjoyed the meal here. We arrived during happy hour, so took advantage of that too. Ordered a margherita pizza and mussels. Nice thin crust on the pizza with decent char. The mussels were really good. Came with ciabatta bread to dip in the sauce, which was so worth doing. Next was our dining month choice. They were serving a beet, arugula salad. We are not beet peeps, so had them hold those. Instead got a huge serving of arugula with chevre, balsalmic dressing and nuts. Next was a beef ravioli on braised beef. Great spicing, including cinnamon and clove. Dessert was a panna cotta with blueberries and a raspberry coulis. So creamy. Our server was fun and friendly. Prices are great. Super neighborhood vibe.

My sisters and I went to Cibos to get appetizers and drinks and we were well satisfied. The wait-staff didn't mind at all that all we wanted was appetizers and also didn't seem bothered that we wanted to split some of them. We got an antipasta platter that had a lot of meat, bread and cheese which we really enjoyed. We also got two other appetizers that were delicious. We really enjoyed our evening.

Our group of 5 adults and 1 child ate at this establishment on 12/3/15. We had a variety of dishes and all concurred that it was ok, but probably somewhat average by Portland standards. We might even go back....., except the waiter was simply rude and unfriendly. When he gave us the bill and as we were paying one of us mentioned that he wondered if the tip was included. The cc bills did not reflect that, however the detail bill did have an 18% tip. He had put the detailed bill "upside" down so that tip was not readily apparent. I know..., check your bill, but if it was done intentionally it was very dishonest. This a reminder to all of us patrons to 'check-doublecheck' your bill!

Lovely restaurant and the Bazilian waitress (sorry, I didn't catch her name) was fantastic & friendly. The only fly in the ointment was we asked to sit in a booth & were told they were for bigger parties, we had four in ours. We then proceeded to notice several booths being occupied by fewer than four people. A minor glitch but we noticed it. The rest of the visit was perfect.

One of the best dinners we had and we ate a lot on this trip! Service was very good and it was our first time there! We had a pizza, roasted cauliflower and octopus salad. All were super and even the cocktails were very good. Pizza was perfect and huge! Food is really outstanding. Besides Ava Genes, please give this a go too! Very good! We eat a lot of pizzas, cauliflower and octopus and the dishes here were stellar!

Went here for a fun birthday dinner, and loved it. Only thing was very hard chairs! I have a favorite Italian restaurant in Portland, and they have great fresh made Papardelle and bolognese sauce, so I was VERY surprised that Cibo's was even better! I hate to say it, but it was! They make their own bread here also, and I would have bought some to take home but they don't sell it that way. They have a lot of fancy cocktails, but they seem a little pricey. The fab. pasta was a very small portion, but it was enough because it was so rich. We had a pizza, which had a nice thin crust, but there was so much cheese on it, I found it hard to eat- it flopped all over and the crust got soggy. Sometimes you can have too much of a good thing!

Wow! Great vibe - from the outside. A little cool to sit outside. Restaurant pretty full, we had to sit at the bar. NO PROBLEM! We drank excellent Oregon Willamette Valley Pinot Noirs - what could be better? Well, how about ... The CAESAR SALAD, which was, bar none, ABSOLUTELY THE VERY BEST Essex has EVER enjoyed. REALLY! I have dreams about it, it was that good. No, probably better than that! Huge! Chilled! Crisp! NOT overly dressed. Tasty, PERFECT dressing. Softly crunchy Ciabatta croutons, Just the right amount of cheese. Honestly, this presentation sets the standard for what a Caesar Salad should be. I ordered it because I saw other salads going out, looked fabulous, and it was! The pasta dishes were excellent, we did not try the woodfired flatbread pizzas, that's for the next visit, and trust me, WE SHALL RETURN. GO, you will be VERY SATISFIED !!!

Have been to Cibo many times and keep going back for the high quality food and great service. Have had chicken, fish, pizza, salads and never been disappointed. My only wish is that the outdoor chairs were more comfortable.

I ate here for the first time with my family and my sister-in-law's family and I really liked the restaurant and the food. The service was great, and nobody in my party had ever eaten here before.it's a nice restaurant for families with children or a small group of people.

A party of 6 enjoyed one of our best meals of our entire trip here. Large comfortable booths, an open concept kitchen, excellent service and delicious food. Like the title says the prices are extremely reasonable, especially for Portland. I highly recommend the Ragu, housemade bread and any of their pizzas. Their Salmon pasta was also extremely flavorful, I will most certainly be back, thanks guys!

We dined here on Friday night for a family celebration. Granted, we arrived at a busy time, but we had reservations and we were seated right away. The service went downhill from there. Our waiter was distracted and thoughtless. He arrived at our table for drink orders and then disappeared. Finally returned with only 3 of the 8 drinks we ordered. Fifteen minutes later he arrived with the children’s juice drinks and announced he had given the IPA beer to the wrong person at our table. He proceeded to take it from them(one-quarter had already been drunk) and give the already-drank-out-of-glass-of-beer to the person at our table who actually ordered it. I was horrified. Can you say health code violation? Shouldn’t he have just brought a brand new full glass to the person who ordered it? We ordered two salads and four pizzas for the table. Some of our family have dietary restrictions, so all the pizzas were different. The waiter said he couldn’t fit four pizzas at the table, so he would place the order for two pizzas and then when we had finished those, he would place the order for the other two. Really? We have to wait for our food because you can’t figure out a way to serve four pizzas at once? Basically, half our family got to eat and the other half had to wait. Overall a very disappointing dining experience. I would not recommend this restaurant and I won’t be visiting them again.

Happy Hour and regular hour dining at it's very best. Hand tossed pizza to die for, atmosphere, service, drinks all at very nice prices. They've even got parking, which in unusual for that part of Division street. We've tried nearly everything on the menu and it's all great!

July is birthday month for us and another couple. Saw this whilst walking back to our cars from Pinolo gelato and made a note to check it out. We were hungry when we returned to we immediately devoured two happy hour pizzas and a couple of other side. Primitivo in the glass for me and my wife whilst our friends had Buoy on tap and some great rosé. The main dishes were ordered: I'd seen the Pappardelle de Bolognese at a close table and went for it myself. Wonderful pasta with such great sauce. A great silence took over the table as we forked our way through Cibo's delicious food. Love the whole atmosphere and the service was some of the best in Portland. Highly Recommended.
margherita love
excellent wood fired pizza, the best on division. Great happy hour deal on margherita. Sit at the bar and watch them make your pie.
