Disappointing Incarnation

By barretta |

Let me say that my long and extensive history with the Four Seasons goes back 25 years. This restaurant, to me at least, does not achieve the levels that its past predecessor venues have done. Service remains very good, as it has almost always been. But in fact the preparation and presentation of the food has suffered under the new kitchen staff. Very often hotel restaurants have been unimaginative and primarily values for their convenience by hotel guests. Under former managers Indrieri and Kelly the restaurant was pretty stellar. Trio did not measure up, nor does Ciclo. One meal that should have been rich and unctuous was dry and not. The others were so-so. I hope others who try it have a better experience. All that said, the new remodel of the lobby bar area - which I used to refer to as my Branch Office - is simply stellar.

Evening dinner - excellent!

By MBTravel |

The Ciclo is an excellent choice for dinner while visiting Austin with a very respectable wine inventory. Our service, dinner and wine were all excellent. Would highly recommend.

Pricey for the portion size

By CathyDArizona |

Ordered several appetizers which were in the $14 -20 range. They were all delicious but very small portions. Good presentation though. Several of us shared entrees and they did split them back in the kitchen for us. The scallops were tender and the kimchee and Brussels quite good. Another couple shared the cast iron chicken. They thought their meal was very good. One in our party had the salmon. It was excellent but the cauliflower puree was a tiny portion hidden under the salmon. We shared an order of crispy cauliflower and it was very good. Wine list was varied but pricey. Good service and they did bring a nice berry and chocolate dish to the table for my husband's Birthday.

Forgettable.

By soapandco |

We had high hopes for this $90 brunch. My grand plan was to eat my weight in crab claws and shrimp, but it was not to be. The crab legs were overly salty and tasteless and the shrimp, while firm and a nice texture, were, sadly, also tasteless. The buffet itself was tiny-similar in size to the free buffet you expect at a Hampton Inn, and despite what the website says, there are no mimosas included. The included orange juice was tasty, as was the tenderloin, but that’s where my good feedback ends. The desserts were varied but mediocre (do not try the rose and strawberry eclair unless you truly like the flavor of an actual rose), with a decent crème brûlée being the star. If they lowered the price to $40, it might be worth going to this brunch. $90? I recommend looking elsewhere.

Easter

By Gary T |

Today we did our yearly visit for Easter Brunch. As usual the food was amazing and if this review were strictly about the food it would be 5 star. The star was the Lobster Benedict, but also worth mentioning are the Crab Claws, Boiled Shrimp and Craving station. You also can't discuss the food without mentioning the amazing deserts- Creame Brulle, Carrot Cake Cheesecake, Flan and the list just goes on. However there were a number of distractions, listed in order of their annoyance factor: 1) The noise- they had a couple of people trying to sing and they were off key and quite loud. It was really distracting. 2) They add a 20% Gratuity to the bill for a Buffet service which given the level of service you get is criminal. I had to look for servers to get coffee refills. 3) Despite booking within a few days after they opened up reservations this year we were booked in the ball room. Twenty years ago when our daughter was young this was fine. For the last 18 years or so we have been in the actual restaurant and didn't have the distraction of young kids all around us. Nothing disrupts a meal more than loud whining kids (which could be heard even over the noise coming from the so called band). 4) The only parking option they were offering this year, as last year, was valet. While the cost is likely no more than self parking in the garage, the wait for our car was at least 15 minutes. At $145 per person before an unreasonable tip and taxes it is a very poor value, but as a once a year treat it is worth a visit. I'm sure next year we'll book for the food, but honestly another year like this one and I'm going to argue for a change in Easter venue for the first time in 20 years (the Covid year excluded).

Animation at Ciclo

By Preston W |

I had the pleasure of attending The Animation dining experience at Ciclo in the Four Seasons, and I must say, I was utterly blown away by the level of service provided. The food surpassed all expectations, and I found every dish to be truly incredible. What made the experience even more exceptional were the standout team members, Liz and Nick, whose attention to detail and dedication elevated the entire evening. This event offered a unique opportunity to connect with others, making it a truly memorable and one-of-a-kind experience. Kudos to the team at Ciclo for creating an unforgettable culinary journey!

VERY disappointed

By Kalyn B |

Very disappointed. First time there. We were seated and not given a menu or told about any food options. We sat at our table for 10 mins and was only offered water. We saw the buffet and figured that the only option they had so we got one plate each. Bill was 168$… outrageous. Good food but not worth the price. Never coming back.

Amazing Restaurant (Dinner & Sunday Brunch)

By HoustonFoodAndWine |

Ciclo hits the nail on the head for quality of food and service. My wife & I, along with some friends of ours, ate at Ciclo for both dinner and Sunday brunch while staying at the hotel for the weekend and were very happy with our experiences. Both meals were epic in the their own right, especially Sunday brunch. For dinner we shared the Wagyu tomahawk, which is prepared tableside, and accompanied it with sides, as well as appetizers beforehand and dessert afterwards. By far our best meal experience was Sunday brunch, though. The spread was amazing, it being so rich and full of quality foods of all kinds. We also found our server (Daniel) to be exceptional. One other noteworthy part of Sunday brunch we loved was the $1 mimosas. My wife & I are mimosa "snobs" (if you want to call us that) and are a bit picky when it comes to the caliber of bubbles used to make the drinks, as well as the ratio of bubbly-to-orange juice. Ciclo's Sunday brunch mimosas are very delicious and the fact that they're $1 essentially allowed the four of us to go through two bottles of bubbly for $8. That was a bargain, in our minds, especially since the mimosas were so good.

Average food but very friendly Staff

By ChiefWolf |

We had brunch and it was just average. The huevos rancheros are not authentic & the enchiladas had the sauce around them instead of on them. Given their location inside the Four Seasons hotel, prices are also premium. But the best thing was the Staff, quick, friendly & very professional.

Disappointing.

By Charmsfather |

Simply not up to Four Seasons standards. The service was dreadful even though the restaurant was not full when we arrived for an early dinner. Later when the restaurant filled up it was extremely noisy and almost impossible to carry on a conversation. Apparently the chef is trying to conserve salad dressing.

excellent lunch

By sweetiesPennsylvania |

Ciclo is the "new and improved"Trio restaurant at the Four Seasons. As with the renovated public areas and rooms, the hotel did an outstanding job at the restaurant. The new menu is lighter, more creative and very well executed. For lunch, out of this world fish tacos and very fine kale Caeser salad.Same very hospitable staff but more vibrant ambiance.Terrific.

Greatly Enjoyed Our Meal Here!

By mingfatsai |

Ciclo is the new incarnation of the Austin Four Seasons' downstairs restaurant. It has an open, airy feel and if you come early in the evening, you have the added pleasure of enjoying live music outside with your meal. We arrived early for dinner and really did not desire dining outdoors in 90-degree temps. But once we were seated inside, I soon realized we not lonely had the best seats in the restaurant, but the best seats in Austin. There on the wall in front of us was a mural of Lee Van Cleef. Anyone that grew up watching Spaghetti Westerns recognizes him as THE coolest bad guy of all westerns. That mural blew my mind! I could not take my off it! In fact, I want one for myself!!!!! That decoration, along with the horse profile exiting from the mist in our room’s bathroom, are decorative strokes of brilliance. As for the service, our waitress was almost too kind in her wish to please us. Not a bad thing at that. The wine list is not extensive, but it is a very thoughtful selection of quality wines at a variety of price options. I really liked our sommelier. I love wine and have an extensive collection myself. He and I hit it off very nicely and it was a pleasure talking about the Dom Ruinart we ordered and other Champagnes as well as wine in general. It’s always a pleasure talking wine with someone else that has a serious love of the beverage. I’m glad the Four Seasons hired someone who takes wine seriously as it means the program has a promising future. Food-wise, we were very pleased with our choices. We started off with grilled octopus and ceviche. So many places do octopus and do it badly! I’ve had some of the worst octopus in Greece, of all places. Who really wants to eat something that is flavorless and has the consistency of rubber? Ciclo did a phenomenal preparation and it was in fact, one of the best preparations we’ve tasted. The ceviche was also outstanding and packed with flavor: tangy, fresh, and varied textures. I loved the grilled cauliflower; the Brussels sprouts were good, maybe a tad dry. The Ciclo signature steak was perfectly cooked to our desire, moist and packed with beefy flavor. We finished with a lovely set of Creamsicle ice cream bonbons wrapped in white chocolate, placed upon a dark chocolate bridge above a bath of dry ice. There were an amazingly refreshing dessert and hit the spot. When we come to the Four Seasons again, we will finish our Austin cycle dining at Ciclo.

Easter Brunch

By Gary T |

This is in my opinion the best Easter brunch in Austin. Today they offered Boiled Shrimp, Crab Claws, Rib Roast, Lamb Rib's and the best dish of all was Lobster Egg Benidict, amonst a dozen other things. . The Desert choices are so varied that I can't really comment, except to say they have an excellent desert Chef. From a value perspective, at $140 per person before tip and tax, it's a poor value. But, it's a fun once a year deal.

The switch from Trio to Ciclo was a mistake

By Gary T |

We had Mother's Day brunch here today and I was quite disappointed. It's sad since we've had Easter Brunch there for 14 years (except this year) and it was always an event to look forward too. When we arrived we were promptly led to our reserved table which was outdoors in the sun and directly in front of a guy playing guitar and a girl serenading everyone. It was extremely loud and quite distracting so we asked for a different table away from the noise. The hostess offered one a few feet away that was just as noisy. After I complained again about the noise she moved us just inside where we could still hear the screeching but it was much more bearable. From a menu perspective it hasn't changed in name from the Easter Brunch menu. Everything is there but the quality has gone downhill big time. The Shrimp and Crab Claws were quite small compared to previous visits and the Sushi was made with fish sliced so this you could almost see through it. The Lamb Chops were overcooked and over breaded. The Prime Rib, Deviled Eggs and Deserts seemed to be the same as the old Trio offering. At $90 a head they really shouldn't have cheapened this buffet down, but they did.... Sad since it's always been a tradition for us but it will be hard for me to agree to go back next year. Service by O----r was quite good.

An adffogato was a fitting ending to a fun day touring Austin.

We were looking for a place to have a nice dessert and came upon CICLO at the Four Seasons. Our server, El, was great and it was wonderful to chat with him after we were finished with our delicious affogato.

GREAT BRUNCH ON WEEKEND WITH LOVELY SERVICE!!!!!!!!

By Robert&Sarah |

We enjoy Four Seasons around the world while traveling and their restaurants. Tried Ciclo on weekend. Pleasantly surprised with nice weekend brunch. They have a beautiful Thanksgiving Brunch and Christmas Brunch as well. Lots of choice and well presented. The chefs cook well and service is above and beyond. Thanks Ciclo for a wonderful experience. Our family will definitely visit soon. Four Seasons Hotel is excellent as well. Rooms are wonderful and outside gardens are nice.

Not great.

By HappyBobbi |

Dinner service is not great. While this is a convenient restaurant if you are staying at the hotel (and really the only option), the food and service for dinner are not great. Highly recommend walking elsewhere if staying at the hotel (or driving elsewhere).

Great early Christmas Dinner with family.

By Donald C |

This consistently good restaurant at the Four Seasons Hotel has undergone another update and refresh. It's probably a bit less formal than before but still stylish, roomy and very comfortable. We were a group of 5 expertly taken care of by a senior member of the staff who was very helpful with beverage and food selections. He helped me spot a champagne special that started us off and then segued into a an all Burgundy flight for the appetizers and mains. The wine list is intelligent and probably not quite as deep as before, but still more than serviceable with selections ranging from $45 to well over a $1,000 a bottle. Solid list of wines by the glass. Appetizers ranged from octopus...nicely grilled to spicy short ribs. Mains were stellar, including Dover sole and Argentine style cuts of beef. Very interesting desert list. Clearly in the top tier of Austin restaurants.

Nice Restaurant in the Four Seasons

By Conseiller99 |

Ciclo is a nice restaurant in nice space on the lake level of the Four Seasons. We had a very nice lunch with delicious gumbo and tomato soup with basil, and a shared Cobb Salad. Excellent service.

Flavorful Breakfast

By JDSoui |

Had an early breakfast at the resort, and a pleasant experience. The staff was friendly and cordial with attentive service. The avocado toast and omelette was delicious with flavorful spices. Ended up trying the iced coffee, which had a different taste, but good with some milk mixed in. Overall a very good experience.

Great brunch and Happy Hour

By EA913 |

Excellent value for Sunday brunch buffet (~$70pp) compared to other Four Season's Sunday brunches. $1 mimosas and bloody mary's, too! Happy Hour is also a phenomenal value. $20 bottles of wine and well valued small plates. Make sure to sit outside if weather permits!

A touch of class at breakfast

By Adrian B |

You would never describe Austin as classy but this is one establishment that could certainly be described as such. A great location to enjoy a breakfast or brunch, overlooking the river. The service is personal and first class and the food is not bad either. I had the Huevos Rancheros and it was tasty and cooked well, not a memorable dish but it was a good dish. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone having a business brunch or just wanting a nice serene morning.

Yummy Four Seasons brunch

By tamjan |

Delicious brunch at The Four Seasons’s restaurant “Ciclo” - $65 for all you can eat buffet between 10am and 2pm. I recommend for travelers and locals for a treat! On lady bird lake.

Sadly disappointing

By 868victor |

Friendly welcome by the Valet man and very friendly welcome at the entrance (while scanning your temperature). We arrived at 8:15 PM and ordered within 10 minutes. It took over an hour to get our food on the table. No bread or drink on the house while waiting that long. The food was not that great like we experienced a year ago, it was average. We did not complain but were disappointed and showed that to the waiter. When we were ready to order the dessert the manager came to appologize and offered one glass of wine and the cokes (drinks for my daughthers) on the house. We thanked him but would have handled the situation with more respect to guests. Unfortunately CICLO did not meet the level you would expect and they did not go the extra mile (what you would expect when guests return after a lockdown) Not sure if we will have dinner at CICLO in future.

A Brunch with Delicious and Healthy Choices

By chuckbianco |

We attended breakfast with several friends at this outstanding restaurant and were delighted with both the service and the menu. Although we had many choices, the chef provided several light choices. All of us, whether gluten-free, Vegan, etc., could make several delicious choices. The food was very impressive.

Great Food!

By nancyzemag |

We came back here after a couple of years and the service and food still excellent. Waiters are attentive and food is delicious. Came on a Sunday and they only had the brunch Buffett. Pricey but good selection. Adults $60 and children $30. Kids 5 and under eat free.

Christmas brunch was spectacular--best ever

By 1234texas |

All too often the brunch for a special day--Christmas--can be disappointing in even the best of the best restaurants. At Ciclo, this was not the case. They were prepared for the crowd (all tables set and the staff ready--the buffet was set up to perfection and the place was immaculate). We have been at similar events where the staff is overwhelmed and the food is poorly prepared because of the volume of food needed to pull off a great buffet for EVERYONE'S taste. We were really impressed with the quality of the food served as well as the variety. Not very often do you get rack of lamb, prime rib, pork lions served on risotto, sausage, crisp bacon, crab claws, fresh salmon, ceviche, fresh sushi, shrimp stuffed with crab meat and eggs benedict on one buffet! Better yet, each dish was better than the next. The sides were excellent and the appetizer selections were beautiful. As for the deserts, the pastry chef must have worked for days! I did not take any pictures of the desert layout because there were too many people blocking the view! That should tell you something! The ambiance of the newly renovated restaurant was excellent--very modern and functional. The clean lines are in contrast to the wonderful views of the gardens and lake outside the huge windows. The service staff is well trained and efficient-- know how to serve! More important, they seem as if they really do like their jobs--they smile a lot! We have been pleased with every Four Seasons property we have ever visited. We feel they do "set the bar" for the "big name" competition. There are a lot of chains that could learn a great deal about how to run a restaurant from visiting this property. We have been here a number of times, but only for special events and catered meals. We will be back here just for Ciclo! We have listed this meal as an excellent value--it is not cheap, but you really get a lot for your money here. I am sorry to say that I can't say the same for many other fine dining establishments.
