Cindi"s at dinner not to be forgotten

By CliveWatkins |

ever stop and think about what's for dinner. Tired of the same choices, home and away? Well don't discount it here. Great thing is that your choices are so broad. Spouse wants veggies...you feel like the daily special? Or just a great sandwich....or how bout sausage and eggs. Points clear, that while this is great at breakfast and lunch, it's a surprisingly good choice for dinner as well. They have daily entree specials that I overlook earlier in the day...and as always, the soups here are awesome. Great servers at night as well.

Nice

By wundirboy |

If you like New York Delicatessens, you will like this place. If you didn’t know you were in Dallas, you would think you were in New York. They have several locations around Dallas but I get the impression that they are all a little different. The food was very good and our server was fantastic. We were there for a late dinner and they were very accommodating for the us and we were a party of 8. If you enjoy this type of food and atmosphere you likely will enjoy Cindi’s.

Good Food at Good Prices - Great Selection

By Robert M |

At least our 3rd trip to this location. The food is always very good and the service is excellent. My wife and I had breakfast and it was great. Our friend had lunch - but she couldn't finish it. The service is always very good. I like the large selection - breakfast, lunch and dinner. The bagels are great. We will be back very soon.

tasty

be prepared to wait at this popular restaurant. Pancakes are yummy. Good deli food. Deli counter also available.

Great food!

Food is always great here and we love it because you can have breakfast for dinner. They have a small bar but you don't go there foe the bar. The food is awesome

Every Town Loves a Good Deli!

By Don B |

Breakfast is a meal that I generally don't eat, per sae. Or at least traditional eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage etc. except on the occasional weekend. When traveling I usually treat myself and this trip found me looking for a place close to where I was shooting a commercial that morning. My tastes are not sophisticated but accurate, at least for me. One of my picky items is coffee. If it's been out for a while and setting on a burner, I can smell it. In fact, many places I go for breakfast I usually order iced tea or water for this reason. But I was in the mood for a good cup and took the plunge. It was the plunge into a bad cup of old coffee. the waitress was having none of it, as if to say; I server cofe all day long and this is OK coffee, but she brought me another cup. The second cup was better but had obviously been brewed and the remnants of another pot was swished into the pot. I ordered eggs and pancakes and sausage - not too bad! When the inconvenienced waitress brought my check i asked for a to-go cup. Guess she thought I needed another lesson in old stale coffee.

Karan

By Karan H |

What a menu! I got a ham and turkey sandwich which was fresh and very tasty! Lots of bagels! Yummy! Large variety of fresh foods. Serve was fast and efficient as I had to get it Togo! Awesome! I'll have to go there again when I come back through Dallas👍🏼

Consistent yet not perfect today!

By Connie C |

Went for brunch. Both my husband’s and my hash browns were too done. My husband’s over medium eggs were underdone. My bacon was overdone. Service was good.

Migas

By E.A2017 |

First time at this restaurant. Great service, wonderful athmosphere. I had migas and they were very tasty and good portion. I checked out the bakery items and they looked delicious, I did not order because I was very satisfied with my breakfast .

Great tasty sandwiches!

By Charlton D |

I have been to Cindi's two times now during business trips to the area and have not been disappointed! I am originally from NY so I can honestly say that the sandwiches are the same as you would get in the Big Apple. I love the pastrami reuben sandwich and sweet potato fries. The meat portion on the sandwich is very generous. This is as close to a NY Jewish deli as you can get and they have nice daily specials. They also have a good breakfast menu (served all day) , bagels, eggs, soups, etc. I will definitely return again when I am in the area. You have made a fan out of me!

Great place for breakfast all day

By michell80g |

Great place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Get the pecan strudel, you won’t regret it. Can’t go wrong with either location in Dallas but this one serves alcohol and they have a bar.

Awesome for brekfast and lunch

By Chuckus1 |

The omelettes are some of my favorites. The are moist and multilayered and not overcooked. I also love the lox and bagels.

Empty & Bland

By Pedro P |

Wow...just wow. Cheese omelt and hashbrowns....zero taste, Sure, I could add salt myself, but I have never had an omelet that was so unsatisfying. Wife and I both had omelets & water to drink....Just over $30! LOL...never again!

Great Breakfast

By texasrepublichistory |

Cindi's Deli was recommended to me by a number of family members and I found their reviews of breakfast here right on the mark. I arrived for "brunch", about 10:30, and was seated immediately. My wonderful breakfast included perfectly scrambled eggs, tasty sausage patties, outstanding home-fries, and English muffins. Very clean restaurant, with lots of seating in red leather booths and a few tables. Very friendly staff, great food, and a good price. I look forward to returning for lunch. Highly recommended.

Great Breakfast

By D T |

Forget the good food and huge menu. Just watched a server guide an elderly gentleman through his "usual" order with all the wisdom and compassion of someone in the memory unit of a senior facility. I saw the unspoken communication of the staff as he was taken care of like he was royalty. I watched him settle in and become comfortable. They are good people here. I like that I can get rye toast and properly cooked over-easy eggs. Seems insignificant now. They won my repeat business today.

Cindi's most like a NYC Deli

By chuckbianco |

From wonderful bagels to great thick sandwiches and salads, Cindi's is a great place for lunch. The place is always packed, but the service is quick and there usually minimal waiting time to be seated

Corn Beef

By JCSfoodguy |

If like a good corn beef sandwich then this is the place in Dallas. Wish they opened one in Grapevine. Good tuna as well and the wait staff is very friendly almost old school like. Love the new pickles.

You can't get more legit than Cindi's

By UTLAWgrad |

My husband is a New Yorker and we travel back all the time. This food is as legit as it gets in Texas. From the corned beef to the insanely large and perfectly moist black and white cookies. Never had a bad meal there, or bad service either. Just love this place.

Great food NOT KOSHER!!!

By RSB_KBC |

Good food, but NOT KOSHER. I am not a Kosher Jew and, in fact, not Jewish at all. I do, however work for an Israeli company, and have our CEO and colleagues that come into town who are. I've had to educate myself on what is Kosher and what is not Kosher, and Cindi's, though really good food, is NOT KOSHER. When I called to verify, I was told that they are "Kosher style" but "not Kosher all the way." Here's the deal: There is no such thing as "kosher-style" food. Kosher is not a style of cooking. Chinese food can be kosher if it is prepared in accordance with Jewish law, and there are many traditional Jewish foods like knishes, bagels, blintzes, and matzah ball soup can all be non-kosher if not prepared in accordance with Jewish law. When a restaurant calls itself "kosher-style," it usually means that the restaurant serves these traditional Jewish foods, and it almost always means that the food is not actually kosher at all. While those who keep Kosher know this, those of us who aren't probably wouldn't. How embarrassing this could have been if I hadn't done my homework!

Must EAT Here !!!

By NWATravelers1000 |

Very simply...Great Breakfast!! Food was prepared exactly as it should be, bacon crisp but not greasy, breads were soft and fluffy, hashbrowns had the delicate crispiness but also not greasy, and last but not least, it has been years (many) since we have had eggs fried medium as these and cooked exactly right. There was no overcooked and crispy edges, the whites were perfectly cooked with a consistent yellow runny center. Sounds like a minor point but this breakfast ensures our quick return to try their great-looking pastries. Service was excellent. Doubt NY actually offers anything superior to this Cindi's !! Not to mention, the pricing is less than more familiar competitors which offer less bang for your buck and a less tasty dining experience.

Great Lunch Spot

By Buberry |

My husband and I had lunch this past Friday at Cindi's. When we walked in and saw every table full and a number of police officers dining there, we knew it must be a good local spot for lunch. It did not disappoint. Friendly staff, lots of menu choices and quick service. We loved our choices - turkey melt and the turkey/corned beef sandwich. Breakfast items (pancakes, eggs, etc...) on other tables looked great too. We would for sure recommend if you are in the area.

Nope to fried chicken and Yes to mashed potatoes.

By TheTraveller87 |

We went it for brunch. The place was super crowded on Sunday. We ordered fried chicken and chicken fajita omelette. The batter in the fried chicken was sweet which is unusual to my taste. We did not like it at all. Mashed potatoes were really good. The biscuit and the gravy it comes with were both really good too. I might go and try again just to make sure that I am not jumping to a conclusion too early. I do want people to at least try to for yourself because it's not bad, it's just a bit different to my taste.

Completely overly exaggerated

By Euroerican |

Not at all what I had anticipated. I only ate my plate because it was all there, and it was merely edible. Denny's' waffles far surpass the waffles that I had at this place. The eggs ... I didn't even finish them because they were so tasteless and burnt. The waffles were dry and had a burnt taste to them too. The staff was super friendly and accommodating and this was the restaurant's only redeeming factor. The atmosphere was lively and loud so only go if you don't want a quiet morning cup of coffee. It was over priced and not all what I had anticipated food wise. Got my hopes up from all the accolade from others - but for nothing.

Great, New York Style, Delicatessen

By Josephus972 |

Great Breakfast/Lunch Deli! They do it right! Order your individual items (bacon, eggs, hash browns, toast, etc.) with very specific requests regarding how you want each cooked and served and the wait persons don't blink an eye. And, everything ALWAYS is served EXACTLY the way you want it. For example, I like my hash browns, well done. i.e. Very brown. I'm so used to having to exaggerate when placing my orders in other restaurants that I have to always remember when at Cindi's, that's unnecessary. On my first visit several years ago I said, "I want my hash browns, very well done. I mean, like almost, burned." And, they were served . . . ALMOST Burned! i.e. No special emphasis is required there. They grasp what you're wanting and serve it, "to order." All the ladies who are servers have been there for years and are simply, marvelous. Always there when you need them but never hovering and consistently accommodating. LOVE this deli! Highly Recommended!

Worth the wait!

By Kelly T |

I've gone to Cindi's many times for breakfast (at 3 different locations) and I absolutely LOVE it! My husband and I go on Sunday mornings and usually beat the crowd so we don't have to wait, but if you get there after 11 there will probably be a wait. The staff is friendly and they move quick! No matter what Cindi's you go to, the food will be wonderful.

A little piece of NY in the midwest

By nickdicenzo |

Everything is Fabulous here!!! Do not miss an opportunity to go. Homemade bagels and deserts, breakfast all day with great dinners and sandwiches to boot. Also unique Jewish food menu items available on the menu.

Very good breakfast, good service

By 2catsathome |

We had breakfast here. Many choices and strong coffee. Good service. Easy to find and no problems parking.

Did a search on Trip Advisor looking for Kosher

By Sandcmk |

This Deli Bakery came in first! The problem is they serve ham and bacon! Slight problem. I don’t know why someone doesn’t stop that false advertising.

Best Bagel I've Ever Had

By bohemian81 |

I was in Dallas on business and stopped here for breakfast because my conference had a delayed start due to icy road conditions; it was recommended by front desk staff at my hotel. On this Friday morning it wasn't very busy, but weather was bad and with schools closed due to the ice many Metroplex residents were staying home. Lucky for me. We had no trouble parking, we were seated immediately, and service was attentive. My breakfast was delicious (Early Bird special--eggs, link sausage, grits, and the best toasted bagel I've had in my life), and my dining companion ordered the corned beef hash (which he said was very good). We both got the "Everything" seeded bagel, and I would've ordered a dozen of those to bring home if I hadn't been traveling. I highly recommend Cindi's for breakfast. Our server was Karan, and she was great.

Don't Get the Cabbage Rolls!

By Jan B |

Worst Cabbage Rolls we've ever had! Cabbage was so tough you couldn't cut through it even with a serrated knife. Meat itself was sparse, and the sauce, which they say is a sweet and sour sauce, was nothing more than water from boiling the Cabbage! Hefty charge of $22.00 for being barely edible and tasteless, and a long trip from Fort Woth in traffic for something that was supposed to be their house speciality!!!

A Fabulous Find!!!

By Paraffin Scratcher |

We’ve lived in DFW since 2001 and (sadly) today was our first visit to Cindi’s. I can’t believe we missed this great deli for so many years, but we’ve found it and that’s what matters. I am very passionate for real club sandwiches and this one was 5-star. My wife had the New York Reuben - best corned beef, just the right amount of toppings on toasted rye. The food is on par with Katz’s in NYC and better still, it is close to home. Chicken noodle soup is by far the best and service is prompt, polite and attentive. We brought home pastrami, bagels and pastries - we couldn’t leave without our “edible souvenirs”. Cindi’s has now been added to our favorites list in DFW. Don’t miss it!!!

I was disappointed

By travelnow39 |

I have driven by Cindi's for years and finally stopped in with a client for lunch. Very difficult to find a parking spot, the strip shopping center is very busy on top of the normal lunch rush. We didn't wait to long, staff was friendly and she made numerous suggestions. My favorite deli experience is Kenny and Ziggy's in Houston, so that is what I have to compare to. I settled on the club sandwich since that is my favorite at K&Z. Well, the name is the only comparison, sorry Cindi, but I was disappointed. It is not that the sandwich was bad, but it was an average sandwich I would make at home. Maybe I was expecting to much, but sorry.

NY comfort food - so good

By lifeisverygood2 |

We ate here on a Friday night. We'd been on the road for weeks. We really wanted something to eat that was like visiting home. We found it at Cindy's NY Deli. I'm so glad it was set up so you could sit down and order and eat your meal there. Yes, we ordered comfort food. It was delicious. Great vegetable soup, wonderful vegetables, yummy ground beef steak, heavenly corn bread. And a delightful oatmeal raisin cookie to take with us to enjoy later. They serve breakfast all day, which is a bonus. This is real NY deli food - lots to choose from.

DELICIOUS!

By SchwarzKatz |

This is a kosher style restaurant, and the food is wonderful!!! If you like tongue, you have to order the beef tongue sandwich. The meat is so tender that you almost don't have to chew it. And the flavor is perfect--tasty but not spicy. The bagel chips, which are served as a free side with many meals, are crispy and wonderfully varied in taste. I love the half-done dills served with each dish, as well as the spicier pickles served alongside. Also be sure to try the chopped liver--smooth, mild, almost creamy, irresistible. The matzo ball soup is not too salty but excellent, and the matzo balls are large and medium soft. The waiters are old-timers and know what they are doing and what to recommend. I ate at this restaurant for lunch, and then ordered takeout for dinner. What a find!

Dinner with son

By Ryan S |

Met son & son-in-law for dinner. Huge menu. Decided to have breakfast for dinner, good but nothing exceptional. Delightful wait staff though & reasonable pricing. Will return.

yet another good omelet

By Cynthia U |

Delicious

By courthouse52 |

Very good food with large portions. Large menu and insight deli. Greatness! Would definitely go back.

Always GREAT Food!!

By Travel9Angel |

Always great for a deli food craving fix! Love the Roast Beef/Turkey/Swiss with Coleslaw and Russian Dressing on Rye Bread. They also serve Breakfast All Day! ;)

Simple put The Best

By JCSfoodguy |

Great food and a wait staff that takes care of bussiness. Great corn beef and Cole slaw. The pickles are new and very tasty. I would recommend them for all three meals.

Good variety of dishes, great bagels!

By BellaSonsie |

This little place is in our neighborhood and our favorite meal to eat here is breakfast. The prices are reasonable and the food is prepared and served promptly. My brother really likes the corned beef sandwich with the hot mustard. Sometimes there is a bit of a wait on weekends, but we don't mind.

Great place for breakfast

By chefbar |

I stop here several times for breakfast when in Dallas for business . The food is well prepared, hot and tasty. The service is also very good but I do chuckle to myself when I am in a place called a NY deli and hear the Texas drawl. I have not had the chance to try another meal (lunch or dinner) but I would imagine they do a good job at that based on the reviews and the breakfasts. The prices are reasonable as well.

A Daily Standard in Area Diner and Deli Food

By Sheri S |

This place is the type of restaurant that you can eat at daily. They have an extensive menu that caters to everyone. No matter what I have tried it has been really good. They make wonderful baked items and bagels. If you want a specialty bagel they have it. My favorite is pumpernickel. Stop in today, and see how many pages of food items there are to select from. They even have a full service bar.

Worth the short wait

By CliveWatkins |

It's busy for a reason. It's a great deli, big sandwiches for the money, and their good not just big. Of course great breakfast. Bacon cooked the way you like it, nice sausage links, and fresh eggs. It's a great vibe, not just a deli. Friendly service and a little wait normally, but people move they there. Big menu, and when your feeling puny...the BEST place for soup EVER. Great chicken and beef barley, I always leave with a "to go".

Amazing Chicken & Dumplings.

By Alfred K |

We stopped here while shopping in Dallas. After watching "I having what Phil's having". He was in New York. He visited a couple of deli's. We had a craving for New York style deli food. I loved the whole experience. I enjoyed the soup. Matzoh Soup?. Great prices. Nice atmosphere.

Excellent for brunch

By Suchita K |

This one has almost become a regular for the weekend brunches for us. They offer such variety of items that it's difficult to get bored. My husband loves variety in bagels and cream cheese. We particularly recommend the onion bagel with chive cream cheese..yum! They have quite a few vegetarian items on the menu. The coffee is great, the service is prompt and although the wait is usually no less than twenty mins on weekends, it's worth it!

The Best Breakfast in Dallas!

By Ron A |

This is my second Cindi's location to visit. When in the Dallas area I always go to Cindi's for breakfast. You can't beat it for the price, quality and service. There's not a bad selection on the menu.

Best Bagels in TX

By James A |

I lived in NY for 8 years and have not been able to find good bagels until I found Cindy's. They are the best I have found since I left NY.

YUM! I miss having Deli's like this Near Me

By Blue30fish |

Friendly service and yummy food. I got a Reuben, and usually get pastrami; however, my server said the corned beef was best. Indeed, it was fabulous--not tough or fatty, buy really tasty. It was loaded on rye with sauerkraut, of course, with the thousand island dressing on the side, The sweet potato fries were a nice complement. I had to take home my strawberry cheesecake, which was worth every penny. The cabbage rolls seem to be Russian, as they do have raisins in them. They come in a huge bowl, and were good.

Yummy fresh sandwiches

By TMC97 |

We picked this place based on reviews. We were very pleased with service and food. Everything was fresh and made to order. We will definitely be back.

Fantastic Dining Experience

By roberttJ8033SJ |

Very large party and and the server handled everything herself with no errors. Also, very attentive. The food was delicious as well and served hot.

Love it !!!

By Lisa H |

Being born and raised on Jewish deli it's great to find a restaurant that reminds me off back home Love all the Cindis I have been too

Good breakfast place!

By Connie C |

First time here. Sitted quickly, friendly service. Breakfast food was good. I like crispy bacon and it was. The hash browns were crispy on the outside and tender inside. Eggs were good and toast just right. Husband liked the link sausage too.

Great place and good food for a neighborhood deli.

By Rastro651 |

Great place and good food for a neighborhood deli. Be prepared to wait sometimes as it can be a busy place. Many great menu choices that are not expensive. Check out the daily specials. You can get breakfast just about anytime & the omelettes are very filling.

Good service for breakfast, average meal and bad potato pancakes.

By Mohsman |

My wife and I chose Cindi's because we are new to DFW and wanted to find a good Jewish-style deli. I cannot comment on the quality of any traditional Jewish-style deli sandwiches or soups, as we had breakfast. The service was very good and our food arrived promptly. My wife had bacon, eggs, and pancakes, and I had the potato pancakes (one of my favorite breakfasts.) The bacon and eggs were average to very good. Regrettably, the potato pancakes were poor - they were deep fried, not pan fried, and were very dry and doughy inside. The regular pancakes were just average. We are going to give Cindi's another try for lunch or dinner and try their deli sandwiches and soups. Perhaps our average experience was just a sampling error.

New York with a Texas accent

By The Pedestrian |

Service is pleasant, but slow. Ordered an everything bagel and cream cheese. The bagel was fresh, but only had seasoning on one side. This was disappointing. I ordered one cup of coffee. A pot was dropped off, which was nice. Thanks for reading. The Bike Chaplain

Favorite Breakfast Place

By nathantate66 |

This is where we always eat breakfast. They have a wide range of food, and it is all good. Treat yourself to some of the bagels or strudels on your way out.

Great find, good quality and service

By Tom L |

This is the 2nd Cindi's we've been to and both are great. B'fast and lunch are always consistently good. Well run and quality is terrific.

Another closure in sight?

By Lynn O |

Have gone to Cindi's on Forest Lane for many years. When I visited this week I found that the bar had been taken out, not that I used it but a lot of folks had a glass of wine or a beer after work, etc. The waitress said they didn't renew their bar license. Also some of the items I asked about were "no longer available". Wondering if they are closing this location like they did the Midway location.

Great service good food

Will Return

By Jen N |

We eat here about once a week for a few reasons. First, the food is good esp the cornbread. Second, the menu is varied enough that you can go a long time with out eating the same thing twice and lastly, the staff is great. It didnt' take them but two or three visits and they new our drink order.

Shalom! Corned Beef please!

By Michelle S |

This place is listed as the New York City dEli type venue, but it taste like a Jewish deli. Jews have definitely cornered the market on great corn beef! Corn beef was tender but not dry or fatty. Great little place. I’ve already been back again. They have excellent breakfast too.

Brunch :The right way

By JTHEDIESEL |

It just never gets old..I meet my daughter for about an 11:00 A.M get together. She had the grilled breakfast potatoes with cheese and I had a bagel with Lox and salmon...Need I say more..off the hook

Wish there was one in the Austin area!

By John D |

Place was packed on a Sunday so we ate at the bar and my Corned Beef w/Swiss on Rye and Cole Slaw was super. They even had "Overnight" dill pickles, my favorite. The barmaid was friendly and the food came out surprisingly fast. Since MannyHattan's on 183 closed, will somebody tell me a good NY style deli place?

Always good and service is fantastic!

By Alice D |

Great deli style restaurant and always great food and service! Specials each day and breakfast served all day as well. Clean and updates decor. Love this place! Best bagels in town. Take a couple home.

Best pancakes in Dallas

By Rick W |

Met three other people there for a business breakfast. You can get everything from a very healthy breakfast all the way to decadence. I always choose the pancakes because they are the best that I have had in Dallas for my restaurant. They also have a very good Bakery so you can take something to go. Pay attention to the daily specials because you get some of that old-fashioned stuff like chicken and dumplings and meatloaf which is always a hit.

Well Worth the Trip

By Timby |

We found this place by accident. We needed a place that was near the midway point for our family to meet. When arriving the place was pretty full and I was afraid that we would have to find another place to eat. They got us right in and seated. I've some health problems and they placed us in a better sitting arrangement to facilitate our needs. us. The menu is huge and it's hard to make a selection. Not to mention all the goodies that you pass on your way to be seated. The service was excellent. As was the food. The portions are large and you can tell they are made with great ingredients. We had a great experience gathering, eating, and enjoying some family time. On the way out we had to get some of their excellent desert items. Bring your appetite and enjoy some great food and service.

Great breakfast anytime!!

By txpillman |

All we have tried is breakfast done right!! One of the few places in the area that serves breakfast all day.

If you are looking for a traditional deli, don't go here.

By Debby R |

This is a diner trying to be a deli. If you're looking for a NY style deli, this isn't it. Latke's and blintz were undeniable. Who serves lox, bagel and cream cheese with lettuce and Greek olives? Bagel was passable, lox had no flavor and was really oily.

Warm welcome, greeting, coffee, food, breakfast, experience was welcoming and rewarding

By endless_summer1966 |

Greeted at the door promptly, full lit and ready to serve. escorted to our booth promptly and greeted warmly. Menu was extensive and visually appealing. Wife had the CHORIZO & EGGS Mexican sausage mixed with 2 scrambled eggs served with hash browns, salsa and 3 tortillas I had the Ground beef patty with a choice of grits, hash browns, home fries, cottage cheese or sliced tomatoes. Plus a choice of toast, bagel Coffee was pipping hot with plenty of refills. Attentive service, Hospitable employees. Don't overlook the pie's, pastries, bagels, and sweet treats before you leave. Would definitely recommend !!!!!
