The food is very good - there's no mistake about that. What we were disappointed about was that our main course was served before we had even finished our starter course. We had barely put down our cutlery from finishing our main course and the bill was presented to us. It seems Ciopinno's are in a big hurry to get you in and then out.

It was so good! Make sure to try their garlic bread, it’s soo freaking soft!! The people were very nice and everything tasted traditional.

Ordered the Seafood Linguine. Rushed tourist service with small serving plate. Most appalling was half-way thru meal there was a found Foreign Object in my food plate (metal foil or similar). Staff did not save the object. Manager promised to investigate and took a full week to respond - likely food packaging. Restaurant response was not to be alarmed as it may be a 'common' occurrence to find a Foreign Object in Food. Not recommended.

Had the Scampi Linguine it was delicious! The service was also very good.My daughter had the penne and it was slso delicious and the Tiramisu and Apple tart were great!

We ate here over Labor Day weekend while on vacation in SF. There are many Italian restaurants closed now, but this one is still open. The Italian theme looked promising as did the thought of fresh pasta. We sat on the patio and people watched which was the best part of the whole experience. The salmon was overcooked, the spaghetti was not freshly made. We make our own homemade pasta and this clearly was not fresh. Fried ravioli was okay. Service mediocre.

Very friendly atmosphere and waiter. Quick service. Great food. Everything was delicious. We had the house special and it was enough for two of us.

Super nice place close to fishermans’warf. The signature dish ‘Cioppino’s’ with different kinds of fish in tomato sauce was very tasty as well as the pasta and pizzas. Busy restaurant so best book.

The restaurant is really far from being a good Italian one. We had spaghetti with clams and penne al pomodoro, but they both had a really strange taste. Moreover, we did not see any italian employee inside (only the italian flag colours outside). In general, the staff is really friendly.

Excellent Fish and Chips and a large variety of dishes and drinks also, quick and friendly service. Plenty of tables...

Despite the name of the restaurant, their cioppino was the worst of our Californian trip. Too strong soup with rosemary and soft defrosted pieces of scallops, and inconsistent fish. No pieces that stick together. We do much better at Louis at Pier39 or at Sandbar in Monterey

Of Italian only the color of the curtain outside. Coke watered down and with a taste not really the best, Caesar salad that on the menu says is also made with croutons, was obviously served without croutons! We asked for oil to season it and it never reached the table. Service therefore to be reviewed. Local very, too touristy.

We made a quick afternoon stop for some seafood and found a table quickly. Loved the chower bowl and chili shrimp/calamari

I'm an Indian guy. I walked into the restaurant hoping to get a seat at the bar. The staff assumed that I was a delivery guy and welcomed me with "Doordash?" and pointing towards the kitchen. I left instead. Don't patronize this discriminating establishment.

Very nice family dinner. The food was fresh and served very quickly. The bread was really good and also fresh. Great service.

Absolutely superb food. We were hesitant to start with given that the location creates the risk of it being a tourist trap, meaning over-priced and low-quality food...however that couldn't be further from the truth. Restaurant isn't cheap (where is in SF??) however all four of us had exceptional dishes. Very highly recommend this place!!

Especially in the evening well attended, hence (smaller) waiting times. Food good, but not exceptional. Note of the service to at least 20% tip was rather than counterproductive - one should leave to the guest how much he wants to tip,

Stopped in for a quick solo lunch on a random Tuesday. Service was fast and friendly. The crab cakes were excellent, and a nice change from the East Coast Maryland style ones I'm used to.

We had lunch, drinks and dinner here during a recent stay in San Fran. The food was the best Italian I have eaten. Loved sitting out the front of the restaurant having a glass of wine people watching and letting the world go by. Service was exceptional and reasonably priced. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Delicious food. Like it very much. Staff was doing the best to satisfy clients. Everything was looking good. Resto is not expensive

For a rather unoriginal place, the experience remains average more. Correct child menu, significantly greater than macdo. Writing 100 words about this place is not easy, we do the best

Seated within 2 mins of arriving at door. Waited 10 mins to order including drinks - table water which never arrived & beer & soft drink. Starter arrived within 5 mins - bruschetta which was lovely. As we were eating the starter - our mains arrived! Left on the table so from starter to mains - had to ask for some black pepper - then I finished spaghetti & meatballs & had my plate removed whilst my wife was eating her main. Prawn platter which was nice but strange service. When we had both finished - declined coffee & dessert & 2 mins later the check arrived. Felt a bit like being on a conveyor belt - settled the bill & left - barely a word from servers or front of house. Food was lovely but service far too quick - no pictures as it was all so quick.

This is not an Italian restaurant. Food is mediocre staff rude they collect the plates like they are throw them in the rubbish. Pizza is prevailed and the pasta is not al dente. The taste is not at all Italian.

We discovered this place a bit by accident Italian restaurant air mixes with the very nice completely Mexican staff We had ordered 4 people 2 cioppini and 4 other dishes each the two cioppini were enough to feed us (and two dishes we canceled) were really very good The bread not perfect but a good imitation of the Italian one would stay again.

Maybe it was us but we were disappointed. The website indicated a more higher scale dining experience that was not there. It was a budget level place. Decent food but scale your expectations down.

Is a thirteen-in-a-dozen restaurant, you know. Pizza is good, no matter what. The spaghetti is so-so. Service is friendly and correct but still comes across so made... But the bad thing is that there was a little cockroach crawling around on the wall against which our little table stood... My son wouldn't let me say anything, but I was a downer...

Great food (salmon, shrimp popcorn and kids pasta), many well served dishes with fair price, and excellent service, all very friendly and helpful.

Went here while on vacation based on all the great reviews. Was quite disappointed. We had a pasta with little or no taste and the daily special chicken piccata. The chicken was tough and dry and even difficult to cut. But the service was excellent. Had much higher hopes for an Italian place

The food was okay at best. The majority of the plates for about $20 bucks you get just the plate of pasta and have to pay an extra $8-10 to add protein. Pretty basic Italian food nothing exciting about it. The tomato sauce irritated my stomach as it was pretty acidic but others in my party seemed to enjoy the mushroom chicken with broccoli. The server was nice. Good service. The place was pretty packed and the atmosphere was good. They do bring out sourdough bread but you have to ask for it. Been there done that. Not my favorite.

Drinks were very over price and wine was served in a thick half pint glass. Food was ok. Nothing special. But nothing bad.

The restaurant was across the road from our hotel. It wasn't too busy, but I had pre-booked online beforehand as it was a Friday night. The decor was lovely and the staff very friendly. I ordered the carbonara which was very tasty but the portion was massive and I couldn't manage it all. My husband had the signature dish 'CIOPPINO' which he said was extremely tasty. Lovely meal!

Nice from the inside. Thats it. Unwelcoming staff, barely any words spoken and we felt like we had to be served as quickly as possible to get rid of. No recommendations from the waitress. The Caprese Salad was an abomination, the pasta was okay but not special. If you can, avoid this place and go somewhere else.

We went to this restaurant only because we were overwhelmed by a day around the city, this place is located right in front of our hotel, therefore easily reachable and attracted by the fact that it could be Italian. The menu is decidedly varied but we notice that most customers mainly order pizza, which if you are a foreigner can also be passed off as Italian, but unfortunately not for an Italian. It looks like a frozen and freshly heated pizza, not to mention that the ingredients are pre-mixed. In fact, we asked if the margherita contained garlic and unfortunately it did, but it couldn't be removed because it was already contained in the product (I don't know if it was the pasta or the puree)... and as we know, the margherita doesn't contain garlic anywhere. Furthermore, over $20 for a margherita is definitely too much. The Caesar salad, on the other hand, is good but also too expensive if you ignore the addition of chicken, while the pasta Bolognese doesn't have much to do with the pasta with Italian ragù... too bad. Fast service but the bill was too high even compared to the area. It could be better.

Me and my husband came here on sun 28th sept,, we both had separate meals pasta and a burger,, absolutely faultless brill

Thank God we found this restaurant. It was late at night and we just go off the night tour at Alcatraz and after being turned away at few places, they were still open. Good food, friendly, solid meal. Thank you

For a restaurant that sells itself as Italian in San Francisco, it wasn't bad. We had two spaghetti meatballs (the pasta surprisingly does not burn) and the meatballs not those of the grandmother but defended themselves well. Then two soups, both white fish and Italian soup. Both very good! A bottle of Chianti costs you $56 but it was necessary Total expense about 35 per person Watch out for garlic!

The hotel recommended it, so we had an early dinner, seated outside. The food was great, large portions. Service was good, too! Great view from the table.

This restaurant was recommended to me and so I walked down and had their fish stew was amazing and well worth it

Lovely ambience, delectable food and good service! Worth a visit for their Clam Chowder Bread Bowl and their special Seafood Platter.

Well placed on the docks, this restaurant is attractive for its setting. On the other hand, we realize that the organization is made for throughput, and for a capacity to accommodate many customers. The service is fast, but the dishes arrive too fast, proving that the preparation is not done to order, but long before, hence a very average taste result.... For the quantities, nothing to say, they are very correct.

So pleased we came here. We had just walked out of Hard Rock Cafe after a terrible experience trying to get service and food. So this place was our salvation. Food was hot and delivered quickly. The wine glasses were filled generously. The food was really tasty and the service was friendly and welcoming. Wish we had just come directly here rather then Hard Rock, but you saved our night!! Thank you.

So tasty and cozy that we went to eat there twice during our four days in San Francisco. Top service, very good food, nice wine.

We had pizza and it was delicious. The service was quick. Very popular restaurant, go there early because it fills up very quickly.

If you are looking for some nice Italian fishy food, then this is worth a look. Attentive staff and the portions were good. The wine was a bit less impressive, but still ok. Ambience was nice too.

Cioppino’s has the best outdoor patio in the neighborhood—spacious, lively, and great for people-watching. The seafood is always fresh, the service warm, and their signature Cioppino is my absolute go-to in the city. A consistently great spot with unbeatable charm!!

Brilliant place , food was amazing . I had meatball linguine and the wife had scampi linguine . Big portions . Crème brûlée was very good and I thought the prices were very reasonable

Now that our favorite Alioto's is closed, Cioppino's will be our new go-to place at Fisherman's Wharf !

Not sure if it was just my dish but I had a mountain of pasta compared to the 3 meatballs in my bowl so the proportions seemed a bit off, nonetheless, the food was tasty. Service was good and atmosphere was lively.

Restaurant has inside and outside seating. Service was ok. I tried the Carbonara dish. It was just ok. Everything is a little pricey. We also tried the crabcake app and it was 25.95 for an app!!!

My daughter and I had dinner here recently and we loved it. We got the fish tacos (delicious!) and a veggie pizza. We were seated by a window in the back. Service was quick and friendly. We can't wait to go back!

Terrible food ! I went for their cioppino, which they claim is the best in San Francisco. Believe me, it is not the best, not even good!! The cioppino did not have any taste beside tomato sauce taste. The bread that comes with it was burned and already dipped in my cioppino before it hit yo my table. The calamari were fried in old oil - they were brown and tasting like burned oil! The chicken in the pasta was tough and impossible to eat! This was no Italian food! Terrible food and experience!

Great service and great food. A very nice Italian restaurant in the Fishermans Wharf area. Lively atmosphere as you would expect in a good Italian restaurant.

Nice atmosphere, smart looking and friendly staff. Food really poor. Luke warm and looking reheated. Ridiculous amount of undercooked cauliflower with the crab cakes, hardly any sauce on the pasta. Disappointing.

We came across this restaurant on our first night in San Francisco. It looked quite inviting from the outside and once inside the food and drink did not disappoint a very good expensive menu and a good selection of beers and ales. Service was excellent and faultless, the food was very good, I had a T-bone steak cooked to perfection with tasty fresh vegetables. Wasn’t the most comfortable furniture but would still definitely recommend.

We just came for a one drink and ended up having all the cocktails from the menu because they were so nice and the man called victor made so nice cocktails. Also he went up and above and made us Very very good Irish coffee which was the best Irish coffee I ever had. We never had food here, but drinks were amazing. Thank you Victor.

My wife and I shared the Cioppino's signature dish. Th traditional seafood medley stew. It was absolutely magnificent. How host/waiter was charming and friendly, the atmosphere was to our liking. It was highly recommended by an acquaintance and did not disappoint.

Just brought kids for a little bite (snacks). Ordered for bruschetta, fried calamari and fish tacos. Very ordinary food. The fried calamari has more bread crumbs and oil than calamari, Eating bruschetta was like biting into a rock surrounded by canned tomatoes (likely). The tacos were ok.

We ordered a gluten-free dish for my daughter, paid $4 extra for NOT having gluten-free. We had a very bad afternoon because of that.

We hated the food. It lacked taste. No seasoning and seafood was over cooked. Poor service also. Not much good to say about it

It’s an attractive restaurant that draws you in. We were seated quickly and that’s pretty much where the positives ended. Service from then was pretty average and you felt like you were just another number. The food was distinctly average, though my daughter enjoyed her carbonara. Definitely a tourist trap living on past reputations with fairly uncaring staff.

We wanted to try the typical clam soup and the truth is that it was very good, we also ordered very normal battered ravioli, the service was a little dry and the price was high, like in all of San Francisco

Amazing food wine and beer, friendly people to serve you, Great view , if you look for Great spot to eat this is THE place !!

My wife and I arrived around 1:30pm. It was fairly busy. We walked in and were greeted right away. We chose an outside table, with an excellent view of the action at the intersection of Jefferson and Leavenworth streets. Great people watching. Our server took very good care of us. I ordered the fish and chips. (Snapper). Along with tartar sauce, and French fries. It was a very large plate of food. The fish was delicious. The French fries were quite yummy. We had a very nice visit. There are many items on the menu that I would like to try. I would return.

We popped in on one rainy evening, no booking, we were made very welcome. I had linguine & meatballs & hubbie had chicken penne pasta, both were huge portions & both were delicious. $48.90 went up to $55.72 Inc tax & 4.9% staff health care surcharge & SF surcharge. Then tip on top makes it an expensive bowl of pasta no matter how nice it is 🙄 In the UK the price you see is the price you pay in most places & you tip if service is good.

The food and service are excellent. Percy was our server and he was very attentive to us during our meal. We will definitely return.

Delight in clam chowder in a famous sourdough bowl. A taste of the bay in every spoonful. Service was fast and prices were reasonable

Pleasant staff and good food. Had the Pasta Bolognese although slightly concerned as in other places it has been a case of lots of pasta and a miserly amount of Bolognaise. Needn't have worried. Plenty of both constituents and both, pasta and Bolognaise sauce, were excellent

Amazing prompt service!! Fish tacos were delicious and extremely filling for an appetiser! Great location along fisherman’s wharf.

Seafood platter was good but only had 3 shrimp. Tons of calamari and fries. Not worth the $. Chowder is decent. Kids cheese pizza was large but tasted like a frozen grocery store pizza.

I can't say that I ate badly at this restaurant, but the massive use of garlic in many dishes I didn't really appreciate. To test a pasta dish, "american style", I ordered spaghetti with clams: well, the taste of the clams was obscured by garlic; the pasta was quite al dente, but the final result was not convincing. Good draft beer, although without foam, good dessert, consisting of an apple pie. Good service, average prices, nice environment, a bit noisy for the weekend.

Enjoyable time at the restaurant despite its huge fréquentation (btw I would advice you to come early, or to book a table, especially as Americans eat really early). Expensive but you get what you pay for, big portions and tasteful !

Had been recommended so just had to try it and was not disappointed. We were staying at the Argonaut opposite so just had to try it . Lovely restaurant, friendly staff and wonderful food. I had a pasta which was lovely .hubby tried a clam chowder in a sour dough bread bowl which he said was delicious. Cocktails amazing . The only concerns was the road works outside which was very noisy but this didn’t stop people coming in. I’m glad we were sat inside. Would recommend.

We cable carred to the warf and quickly found ourselves in a mega tourist funnel. We searched for a restaurant with a view of the bay and to no avail came to Cioppino’s. They have outdoor seating along the busy sidewalk or a large dining area inside. They do have a seating area with view but it doesn’t open until 5pm for dinner. We were happy to get seated right away and grab a cold beer from the tap to go with a couple appetizers. As we were in San Francisco we had the crab cakes and clam chowder in a sour dough bread bowl. As the bread bowls are huge we asked for oil and vinegar which was nice. Both were tasty. The crab cakes seemed a little small for 25$. Friendly and fast service.

Excellent dinner and a charming server who wore his mask. Very authentic pasta sauce! This restaurant is conveniently located near Fisherman's Wharf and even has outdoor seating with red-checked tablecloths.

We stayed for lunch and enjoyed ourselves to the point of returning the next day The only downside was the bill was a little hefty, but since you're on the waterfront and in San Francisco that's fine

We dined sat at the bar , the staff was very helpful with our choice of food , which was the famous Clam Cowder served in a bread bun . Looking around the speciality of the house a mixes seafood Soup served in a giant bowl served with chunky cobs of locally made bread seemed a firm favourite with everyone :-) We also had sides of garlic fries / cheese and a mixed green salad served with walnuts, tomatoes and balsamic, again both berg tasty and fresh .

Superb little find. On our arrival the restaurant was busy so that is always a good sign. We ordered a variety of food, from a Caesars Salad, to a Prawn Linguini, and all the dishes were hot with tons of seafood in them. A very nice restaurant

The ambience of this restaurant in the tourist mile is Italian. The service was friendly, competent and quick. We ordered pizza and wine. The pizzas were OK, but like the wine, very expensive. Wine in particular is very overpriced here. You have to add around 30 - 35% to the price of the menu when paying (tax + tip). The quality of the food was OK, though.

Would not recommend at all. Ordered a chicken pasta dish and husband had meatballs & pasta. Both arrived within around 5 minutes which we thought was way to quick to have been freshly made food. We were right, it was like a microwave reheated meal. The chicken was inedible, Im sure it was the prepacked reformed type meat....yuk. Both dishes were completely tasteless and just awful. Don't waste your money visiting this place!!

We came for dinner and the service was so quick and so attentive that we were out in about 30 minutes. We didn’t feel rushed at all and greatly appreciated getting in and out so fast wish a solid meal in our tummies after such a long day exploring fisherman’s wharf on foot.

Great place at San Francisco area to lunch or diner. Great services and food. The place is ideal for family and friends. The place is at the piers of San Francisco .

Best garlic bread ever! Lovely cosy Italian near to pier 39. Friendly and efficient wait staff; lovely food. Nice Californian wine - the Sun&Sea pinot noir was excellent; $40 a bottle but given California restaurants wine prices reasonable- even though they produce it there! Mains v good value big portion sizes; highly recommended.

Was a decent meal. A bit expensive but that's California. Really enjoyed the Minestrone Soup. And my son raved about the Snapper.

We arrived at our hotel late and visited the restaurant on a recommendation from hotel staff. The staff were really friendly and we were served without delay. A really good Italian menu. We both had pizza which was absolutely fabulous, really tasty authentic pizza. Definitely recommend and would go again

We wanted light dinner as we had full lunch (what we usually don't) and when we saw this Italian restaurant we thought that would be the place to go. Outside were free tables but it was a bit cold to sit there so we opted inside. It was crowded but the waiter found quickly table for us so we didn't wait. We ordered cup classic minestrone soup ($7.95) - it was tasty but it was really small cup, I finished it with four spoons. My husband ordered bruschetta ($9.95) - which was mixed salad with 5 pieces of bread - he said it was good too. Then we ordered four cheese pizza which we shared ($22.95), again it was tasty. We were offered glass of water and it was enough for us, we didn't need any other drink. In total we paid $46.56, incl. tax of $3.71 and something mentioned on the bill as SF Mandate (4.90%) of $2 - nobody told us what it is. The food was tasty but when we started plenty more people came who waited inside and the staff was going with food and drinks behind my seat so I was constantly checking if something "landing" on my top on the back of the chair. There was another empty room but for unknown reason they didn't allow the people waiting inside to take the tables there. That is the reason why I gave one star less.

Food was fresh and delicious. Good attention and great environment. Prices are quite reasonable and plates are good portions.

We had the chilli shrimp (quite hot!!), the clam chowder in a bread bowl, chicken club and Alfredo pasta. We also got the cheesy chips and mozzarella slices. It was a little too much so we took some away. A cocktail, a beer and refillable iced tea made for a refreshing start to our visit. Service was very warm and friendly and fairly speedy.

Great food on fisherman’s wharf. My wife was looking forward to the cioppino and it did not disappoint. I had the fried prawns and they were so tasty. Would recommend.

We were persuaded to go here by several staff at our hotel, they each give you a card offering 10% off and put their name on it. Kick back? On the upside the interior is nice, there is a large nice looking bar, the venue is airy and nicely done. Service was functional and without pleasantries. I was pained to pay the tip. Food also comes at breakneck speed. I kid you not. Our children’s meals came in literally moments. We ordered our stater and then main after so we’re saved this. I saw other tables where starters arrived then mains arrived literally seconds later. My wife and I commented to ourselves as the couple on the next table each had huge pasta main courses to their sides as they just began their staters. I had the mussels to start. The portion was miserly and the broth overpoweringly flavoured. I had the Cajun snapper to follow which was okay but very basic and average, after all, Cajun flavouring is pretty simple. There was not culinary expertise/delicate flavouring/skill at all. All other dishes were very average. Given we had eaten a spectacular meal the day before at a restaurant on Pier 39 at the same price point, I can confidently say this is establishment is average at best, overpriced and one to avoid. I would not return.

My wife and I loved Cioppino's., we visited 3 times on a recent holiday which we never do! The fish dishes were amazing (the blackened cajun red snapper was my favourite). The portions were big, but so was the quality so we only ever needed a main course. I guess COVID hurt every hospitality establishment but this one certainly bounced back in style

Very nice tasty food, good selection of food and drinks. Service was a little too quick lol. Food comes out very fast. Typical quick tourist turn around. Not for you if you’re looking to spend the whole evening having dinner/drinks etc..

Very busy (almost hectic) but good service, great food. not overly priced for the area. It doesn't feel Italian thou (probably the only let down) the tables are cleared and the next customer is seated before the chairs have time to cool down - that's how busy. A easy walk from the F-line streetcar / Fishermans wharf - worth a visit

Amazing for and great selections on the menu! Pizza was great and bacon wrapped prawns were amazing! Highly recommend. Clam chowder was spot on! Fast service and clean. Highly recommended.

Great service, staff was friendly and food was delicious. Tried the Cioppino and it was a bowl that could feed 4 people! Delicious.. would definitely recommend for a casual night out or a business dinner. Great place!

Great for a casual dinner with partner, family and friends. We tried the clam chowder and the bacon wrapped prawns, as well as the creme brûlée and expreso. All good.

If you want a fresh quality seafood dinner, this is the place! Also if you love italian food. From the lovely staff, to the incredible food and the cute italian decor, Cioppinos is all round fantastic! Our waiter Rolando V was just fabulous, so sweet and attentive. With SF being so very quiet on the tourist front (for which we have never seen it so quiet), it was very easy just to walk in and get a table. I sure hope that tourism picks up, because it would be such a shame to lose an amazing restaurant like Cioppinos

We stayed a week in SF and really ate almost every day (except once at Bubba Gump - had to be) at Cioppino's in the evening there. The food and also the wines were really excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The tip is just so in the USA - but we were happy to give as everything fit.

I used to visit SF regularly but since retiring haven’t ban back in a good few years. I first visited Cioppino’s over 25 years ago I reckon and have always come back. The menu is unchanging (which is good) and it is quality fare at a reasonable price. But for me it’s the staff, they are SO welcoming and never rush you. On this trip I had crab cakes to start with - so fresh and absolutely Devine served with home made sauce. I ordered a basket of garlic bread with cheese to go this and my main course which was just out of this world. For main course I had their homemade meatballs in linguini with gutsy tomato based sauce - remarkable . My tip: Forget any other restaurant around fisherman’s wharf which tend to be cheap and cheerful for tourists, come here and you will see families of Italians enjoying themselves with the great food and atmosphere - there is a reason this restaurant has stood the test of time and it really delivers outstanding experience .

Food was so good we went back a second night! Lots of gluten free items too! The service was great both night. Once night we ate inside and the second night we ate outside. The food is served fast and HOT! Loved how hot the food was. Wine was recommended by our server the first night and she was pot on for what I was looking for! Highly recommend for GF and non GF

The night before we went to another better restaurant. Food is not cooked very well Quantities are abundant Prices are higher than other restaurants Crowded, chaotic

The full terrace made us choose this restaurant. Very quick (maybe too quick) service. Food was good, but the pricing was definitely adjusted to the location. Not bad it you want to eat near Fisherman’s Warf but if you have energy left maybe search a little bit further.

It’s been years since we were here, but we remembered how fabulous it was and made a reservation weeks ago when we knew we’d be in San Francisco. It did not disappoint!! I had the clam chowder in bread bowl and salad combo. It was absolutely perfect. The salad had blue cheese crumbles and candied walnuts as well as tomatoes and a variety of greens. The flavor of the chowder was a perfect balance. Hubby had signature dish: Cioppino. It was as good as he remembered. This isn’t the most famous seafood place at Fisherman’s Wharf, but to us it’s the best. Very reasonably priced too.

Went with a large group, heard good things, we were seated across three tables which made it easy to talk to some but not all. Food was ok, but nothing like super overwlming but nice. Service was very fast but somewhat abrupt and uncaring. Not my pick again. It was nice just that.

Excellent food, excellent service, really enjoy the lunch. The crab is wonderful. Pasta is the best.

We booked for 19:00 and was busy so we thought it should be good. The service was good, although they did try and remove my starter bowl before my wife had finished her dish, which I find extremely rude, maybe its an English thing but at an expensive enough restaurant we would expect better decorum. I found my food (both starter - Minestrone and main - Chicken Penne) to be bland and had to add lots of parmesan and pepper and I mean a lot to get some taste, my wife's pizza was just ok but having just been to Italy (Bergamo Milan) I can tell you it was nothing like an authentic stone baked italian pizza, Dominos is better. We would not revisit if we return to San Francisco.

This is a very busy place at Fisherman's Wharf but well worth the short wait for a table. I had a cup of clam chowder plus the fish and chips and they were very good. My wife opted for the Cheese Tortellini and liked it very much. They have a large menu that includes seafood and pasta. Our server was friendly and very efficient.

Perfect sized portions. Chicken piccata, chicken with mushrooms, fried shrimp platter and seafood platter were all very good. Missed having bread.

We came on a Monday for lunch and were seated right away. We sat outside, which was sheltered from the breeze but not really in any full sun at this time of the year. Decent amount of offerings on the menu and not all seafood. Our group sampled the clam chowder bowl with salad (very good), fish tacos (very good) and chicken club sandwich (amazing). Friendly service.

Directly on the coastal road is the restaurant. We had to wait 15 min for the table (without reservation). Had a quiet table in the back. But overall full and big and loud. Food was very good. Nothing to complain about.

We arrived with no reservations and waited for apx. 15 minutes to be seated. The place was packed, hectic, but the service was pretty good. As for the food, well, it was just ok - nothing too brilliant, but still, a decent Italian place. Prices were adequate.

My husband and I decided to try this restaurant and we were glad we did. We shared a Cesar salad, it was delicious. We also shared a grilled garlic shellfish dish. It had linguine noodles on the bottom, the whole dinner was so good. Our waitress was very attentive. We really enjoyed this restaurant and would visit again

Didn't knock my socks off like i thought it would of, but definitely worth the stop to give it a try. Very attentive staff always helping, but was a Holiday so not much going on. Great flavor and taste, a bit spendy, but what isn't anymore. Worth the visit just West of Fisherman's Wharf!! Give em a try!

A nice restaurant nestled into the San Francisco Fisherman’s Wharf. The menu is large and there is something for everyone. As a starter, we would recommend the Caprese Salad, which was well seasoned and combined some classic Italian flavours to perfection. There was some good mains - with the fish tacos received well, the carbonara light and with good flavour (however didn’t leave the best aftertaste) and the pomodoro pasta was excellent - especially with some griddled chicken. The only negative is that portions are too big! Dietary requirements are catered for - with gluten free pasta alternatives. Service was reasonable - food was served quickly, and although servers attempted to be warm and friendly, they weren’t the most attentive and the service didn’t feel the most professional. It is still a good place to come for lunch or dinner, and would recommend. Thank you Cioppino’s.

We had a great pizza and Alfredo pasta. They served us super well and has a very nice terrace (if it is not windy).

I ordered the Fisherman’s plater , it was amazing . Fresh , fast and delicious. The waiter could’ve been a bit more attentive but overall it was a great experience.

Restaurant on the port with many seats. Good fish, a little less so than the first courses. Overcooked fish risotto. Fast service. Good prices

Atmosphere was great - Cozy and relaxing with options to sit outside by the fire. Friendly and helpful staff. The food was fantastic with a ton of good choices. It was good enough for my wife and I to come eat twice on a 3 day trip and also a third time for drinks. We would normally never do that.

Great service & friendly staff. Food was amazing- linguine meatballs, chicken penne. Perfect location near where we were staying. Definitely recommend

Much to choose from- plenty of seafood and much more. The minestrone is chock full of chunky vegetables- absolutely delicious. Also recommend the chicken Marsala. The waitstaff was friendly and accommodating.

7 years ago we came to eat fish & chips and it was delicious, today we celebrated my mom's birthday again, ordered pizza, past Alfredo and again fish & chips and everything was delicious. The service of the waiters very good and the speed in the excellent service. For birthday my mom had a courtesy of a tiramisu with a candle, exquisite.

Exquisite food and 100% service the place is comfortable and the atmosphere great to enjoy a clam chowder and a ribeye garlic bread I recommend

We walked past and chose this restaurant at random for its attractive and warm frontage. The linguine with meatballs was delicious and the dish very generous, the crème brûlée divine, the service was very fast and the staff took great care. I highly recommend it if you don't know where to go in San Francisco!!

Great restaurant great food and staff local food sea food steaks nothing a problem book a table arrive yearly and sit up a great bar and try the great cocktails

Where is the fish? Trout came as thin black steak ?! The waiter claimed they are known for seasoning !! WTF!!where is the fish??!! This is the worst seafood we have ever had in our lives

I was looking for the best cioppino in San Francisco and found it! Delicious and craveable. Went to two other restaurants l where I ordered this dish but their cioppino was far and above the best. Put this on your “must go to” list. Wait staff was excellent and helpful.

Really expensive. And the food was not that great, we highly recommend people to visit other places in San Francisco… Really disappointed.

Great food, great ambience and great staff. Best meal I’ve had in a long while. Really enjoyed everything, authentic restaurant with a personal service. Could not fault a thing. Highly recommended

We had the linguini meatballs and combination pizza and kids chicken fingers. Food was excellent and service was great. Would definitely recxomens this restaurant and will visit again.

Restaurant located at the beginning of the Piers arriving from the departure of the cable cars. Excellent cuisine ( Italian , fish) a little expensive. A TV that broadcasts American sports games. My son wanted to eat carbonara pasta, it was delicious. For the part it was fish, very good.

Ordered the ribeye steak which I thought was expensive at $51 but it was a special occasion so ordered this for both myself and my wife. Asked for chips and salad rather than mash and vegetables. Food arrived very quickly, salad was covered in nuts which had to be removed and put on a side plate, steak was on the cold side and undercooked and very fatty. It was the worst meal by far during our holiday and has almost put me off steak for life. We won’t be returning here, there are better and more reasonably priced restaurants at Fisherman’s Wharf.

A real disappointment, I simply asked for a shrimp cocktail and instead I arrived immersed in ice and with accotto a container with checiap; Afterwards I took fried shrimp with sauce that was supposed to be like the cocktail. Waiters are not careful when they pour drinks in fact despite having taken ten bottles of water, They poured their water from the carafe.

Went here with great expectations but would not recommend at all. Very disappointed. Appearance is deceptive. Outside looks very attractive and authentic Italian. Started off with long delay before a server came. The waiter took the order and basically returned immediately with our starter - Bruschetta. The bread was rock hard and was obviously not fresh and had been in a fridge. They replaced this and it was much better. Something I really don’t like is plates being cleared when someone is still eating. I had finished my starter but my wife was still eating when they took my plate away. Then, my wife took the last mouthful of her starter, moved her plate to the side and our main course arrived! No gap between the starter and main, hardly time to take a breathe! The main course was good although I had the fried prawn platter but it came with 2 pots of ketchup! Tartare sauce was on the menu to be with it. It was nice enough though. My wife enjoyed her fish and chips. We had enough to eat so asked for the bill. I was paying by card and to my surprise the waiter wanted to take my card away from the table and bring back - no chance!! He did bring the card machine so don’t know what that was about. All in all I think the food is pretty good but they just don’t know how to properly serve food and treat their customers. Had they not rushed the food at us we may have ordered another drink and dessert but we were made to eat our food so fast, we felt full up.Would not recommend.

We were a group of nine traveling seniors who all enjoyed our entrees. The menu is varied to accommodate many dietary restrictions. The dinner and service were very good and our meals were delivered together and all served warm and were delicious.

The shellfish risotto and the raviolis are excellent! Also the margaritas are very good. I went there twice and planning to go back soon.

My husband and I are on our honeymoon in San Francisco, staying near Fisherman's Wharf, so Ciopinni's was a nice walk from our hotel thru the area. At 6pm on a Saturday night, the restaurant was bustling but not packed full. Cheerful, appealing atmosphere, not fancy/snooty. We always love sitting at the bar, and, lucky for us, this meant we were treated to a delightful and exceptional evening of service provided by Rodrigo, our server. The Shrimp Aurora and Seafood Risotto were excellent. The Tiramisu was to die for. Pricing was as expected for the $$-$$$ rating and worth it. We will return the next time we visit the area. Highly recommend.

Unpleasant servant who went crazy when we went because we had not given more tips than those they themselves charge. The chicken was not properly cooked in the pastry we got Bad experience

Coming from an east coast city known for its waterfront tourism and seafood, I was a bit skeptical as many "waterfront" dining destinations are nothing but tourist traps. I've heard numerous people say that Cioppino's in SF (and really anyplace in that area) is a "tourist trap" primarily because it's in the touristy Fisherman's Wharf district. Now it's definitely "touristy" given the location, but it is far from a "tourist trap." Our meal was excellent, as was the service. I honestly didn't know what to expect and was skeptical but willing to give it a try. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. The fish and chips were outstanding, if for nothing else than the crispy batter alone. But the fish was fresh and flavorful. And the various Italian seafood dishes got rave reviews. I will have no problem returning if I'm ever in Fisherman's Wharf again.

Very friendly staff, proud of the food they serve and should be. We had lovely food. The chowder and fish were great. Service was fast. Portion very fulfilling. Would happily eat there again.

Amazing GF options. We both ordered pasta dishes and loved them. I am GF and am happy to report they I had no reactions at all. Waiter was very reassuring that my food would in face by GF. We ended up taking our leftovers back to the hostel and they reheated just as well.

We went to dinner one night for dinner. Welcoming and Professional Service. However, eat frozen pizza that comes out of the freezer there. That doesn't do it. 0 point for the restaurant.

We decided to eat her one night of our stay and were a bit disappointed. Being situated on Jefferson street in Fisherman’s Wharf there is a high footfall which means the restaurant tends to cater for large numbers of people and high throughput. We felt a little as if we were on a conveyer belt. One of us had the meatballs which were a bit watery, the pizza was fine. If you’re looking for Italian cuisine our advice would be to look in North Beach (Little Italy).

The food was really good but the service was poor and rude! The environment was nice if a little cramped and noisy but overall a god place to eat!

I paid a total of $98 for two plates of pasta and one drink. That includes a 20% tip. The food was…ok. Not great, not bad, just ok. Not as good as I would have expected for $35. I would not go back, and I can’t say that I would recommend it to others, especially when there are so many options in the area. Staff was friendly, and the restaurant was clean.

We ordered a salmon with veggies and also a pepperoni/mushrooms personal pizza. They were both delicious. Restaurant has convenient location

We shared a lovely seafood chowder in a bread bowl and a pizza. Both were lovely, staff very friendly. Nice location on the wharf and reasonably priced for the states. Would recommend.

We ate here after I looked online at the menu. Myself and my oldest daughter will eat anything. My wife is pretty picky. My youngest daughter is the chicken finger princess. I had the garlic seafood roast, it was fantastic. Huge amount of crab, shrimp, mussels and clams with garlic noodles. We also had crab cakes, tortellini, and chicken Alfredo. Everyone loved the food. Highly recommend.

Eaten here today ,there were two dead flies on my side salad ,I politely informed the server who in turn showed the chef ,they refunded the money for the salad ,not sure what American etiquette is so we paid the bill and left a small tip for the server ,but in England I would have left and refused to pay .

Very good service, my husband wanted a mix of things from the menu and this restaurant was happy to dish up exactly what he wanted. Great food & great service from our waiter

Site that seems to have the kitchen open with long hours, they serve you with very good disposition and English will not be a problem. Excellent and recommended pizzas.

This restaurant is located in a lovely spot.. Windows over looking the harbour. Food was also tasty would recommend the Cioppino.

At Fisherman wharf near Pier 39 Italian-inspired restaurant (not an Italian restaurant) we ate quite well for the US average. Good Cioppino soup although with lots of garlic! Average prices for SF

We enjoyed delicious food, exceptional service, and a welcoming atmosphere—all at very reasonable and fair prices, thank you

I would have given 0 stars but unfortunately you can not do, the pasta was horrible not worthy of being called so, not to mention the pizza, really painful.

Stopped in for outdoor lunch, both our pasta dishes and the minestrone soup where excellent. Order arrived in a timely manor and hot...one of the many places to eat near the wharf this place didn't disappoint us.

Fantastic service and food! We enjoyed a lovely dinner that was perfectly cooked, tasted great, and was served quickly. The area on the wharf is very nice and the view was spectacular!

We loved the food here. It was really busy when we went but we were looked after while we waited and were seated in pretty quick time. The food was superb and we both enjoyed what we had. Highly recommended for good Italian.

Not that much people when we dined. Food is good but service we had was even better! Quick and has initiative. Has a island. Bar dining. Ample spacing between tables. High chairs available. Clean bathroom. Accepts credit/debit. For parking, you need to find one near the area. My verdict: recommended to try if you like/love italian. See images for information

after the long trip to the West, on our last evening in San Francisco we chose this Italian restaurant (?) also attracted by the numerous customers present in the Fisherman's restaurant. in reality the place has very little Italian (starting with the owners) and the waiters (who don't understand the term "bruschetta" because they say "bruscetta" - sigh!). In general, the chosen tomato pasta dish was acceptable, the fish dish was less so, the chowder was good and the bruscetta was absolutely unacceptable... Definitely high prices (count 100 USD minimum for two people with main courses). In my opinion, there are other better places

Fun dinner at this place in Fisherman's warf. Cuisine clearly not fully Italian and widely Americanized. Good dishes: well-made crab with a side of spaghetti with garlic (definitely very plentiful). Appropriate Account and Service

We ate here for dinner and the food, service and location were excellent. We had Linguini & Meatballs and a Pizza which were both freshly made and delicious. A little on the expensive side though but maybe not for Fisherman's Wharf!

We went there for a busing dinner while in San Francisco, and were pleasantly pleased with the food, the area and the service . The only issue were the motorcycle gangs racing up and down the pier , popping wheelies and acting irresponsible, especially with many people moving about .

My wife and I ate here with friends of ours when we visited San Francisco about 15 years ago. When we decided to visit the city again on our tour of southern and central California with our kids, this was one place I definitely wanted to return to. Much of the city disappointed this time around...it just isn't nearly the same. Cioppino's was still fantastic. The flavors were excellent, the server was incredibly kind, and honestly the prices weren't bad. (Note that if you visit the souvenir shop next door, your receipt there includes a small discount for the restaurant.) Tip - we like to eat our meals outside of normal dining hours when we travel, so that may have helped us avoid the rushed feeling others have noted. We did not feel that at all.

Nice place at the wharf. Had good chowder (in bread bowl) and the others nice Italien food. Staff was friendly and quick, prices are ok for such a tourist hot spot

Cioppino’s was recommended to us and it did not disappoint! The prawn cocktail was fresh & delicious, pasta and wine who could go wrong

The food was great, good quality and tasted nice. However, we felt rushed. We ordered starters and mains, The mains came before we had finished our starters. There was no explanation from the waiting staff. What we had was nice and tasty. Service wasn't as good as other places we ate in SF.
Good food in a cozy restaurant close to the Pier
Cozy restaurant with extremely fast service. Large portions, pasta was tasty and with lots of seafood. Unfortunately, pizza is not authentically Italian.
