Long wait, dry and overcooked!

By Amy A |

We waited almost an hour for our food! The soup wasn’t even served. I ordered shrimp and grits. The grits were dry and the shrimp was over cooked and dry too. A total disappointment. I didn’t send it back because I was starved and didn’t want to have another long wait.

Good but.....

By fillfox |

I have gone to this restaurant since it opened 20 years ago. I walk there. I want this restaurant to stay. as always the service is very friendly and efficient. the drinks are well-made. However - my last visit I have a small annoyance. I ordered the shrimp and grits- specifically because it said wild caught. This dish cost $20. Just one skewer came- with five small shrimp. They were not big or even medium. 5 not 10 ! so for $20 -that averages out to four dollars a shrimp. Tasted fine ,but the pricing is absurd.

Terrific Neighborhood Stop

By B. Richard |

We had a gift certificate from a younger couple who are serious foodies so we gave it a try last weekend. Great suprise - many choices on the menu, we started with mussels, large house salad with fried oysters and shared the grilled meatloaf. Beverage prices fair but each food item was a stand-out. Highly recommended. Portions are large - we took some meatloaf home - that and the mashed potatoes had a fried egg the following morning at home. PS..ask for extra meatloaf gravy...

Local cafe and bar

By Sarah R |

I met my friends for lunch. We all ordered from the lunch special menu. This menu included 3 courses, appetizer, main and dessert. I chose calamari, fried chicken salad and warm chocolate cake. The food was very tasty. The service was wonderful.

Great WestSeattle favorite

By CAD99 |

More of a grill that ale house. An eclectic menu of well prepared comfort foods and standard bar fare. Casual , neighborhood, atmosphere. Service is quick and friendly. Prices are moderate. Open For breakfast on the weekends only. Excellent menu with generous portions. Try the Benedict's, The best around.

Rude service

By west5er |

We had heard from other locals that the staff is inattentive and could seem to care less if you are there or not but thought we'd give it a try. We chose this place because they had a sticker on the window stating they take American Express. When we went to pay the bill, the bartender told us in a rather loud and rude way that they DON'T take American Express. We mentioned the sticker in the window and she just repeated ,"well, we DON'T take it". No discretion, or apology or offer to take down the sticker, it was embarrassing as others were listening in. It's not like we wanted a free meal, we were on our bikes and that's the card we grabbed. We will never go back there.

Always Delicious Food!

By Peter S |

The skirt steak salad is one of our favorites. We like to go for weekend breakfasts, too. It's small and popular, so be prepared for a wait for dinner on weekends. We arrive early for breakfast and we do get a table. Great breakfast selection. The mushroom Swiss burger is another of my favorites. Five stars for all of the food and service. Very generous portions, reasonable prices. They have parking. I like to call in an order and take it home for dinner. The food comes out of the kitchen quickly! One of our guests said, "That is the most attractive restroom I have ever seen in a restaurant!" I would give them five stars but IT IS TOO NOISY.

A good bet for comfort food in west Seattle

By Marty L |

When I visit my family in West Seattle we frequently have dinner at Circa a really nice neighborhood pub style restaurant.. Lots of really good local brews on tap and good comfort food entrees like meatloaf, fish and chips, an interesting take on Mac and cheese. Can get a little loud but lots of regulars and a nice friendly feel. Good value for the money. Waitstaff is friendly..a bit slow in following up when the place gets busy..kitchen can also be a bit slow on busy nights but the local brews help you forget about that. All in all a much better than average local place where the food is always reliable..a good spot to meet friends and spend a couple of hours.

Always a great choice

By FrancineS5060 |

Small neighborhood place; consistently outstanding food and service. Can get crowded so it is nice to be over 21 because you can usually find a seat in the bar!

great veggies

By iris423 |

Cozy neighborhood restaurant in West Seattle. Crowded even at 6 PM. The food was very tasty, and portions are large. The only negative is the heavy emphasis on meat. There is some seafood and poultry, but there was essentially nothing for vegetarians to eat, especially vegetarians who do not like Mexican food. A veggie burger would be a good addition to the menu.

Disappointing

By jlf47 |

We have frequented Circa for many years and were very disappointed on our last visit. Four of us ordered 3 hamburgers and one lamb burger. The burgers were not as tasty as before and all of the fries were soggy and limp. The lamb burger lacked flavor. I believe that Circa has changed owners and it shows in the food quality. The only positive point was the wait person. They were friendly and had a great attitude.

My Favourite Neighbourhood Spot

By Suzanne M |

When I lived in West Seattle a few blocks from this restaurant, it became our " go-to "place- tired and/or hungry it was great to have this little spot. The service is usually very friendly and efficient and it doesn't take long to become a recognized "regular". I've never had a disappointing meal there and the portions are hearty. There are nightly specials on drinks as well as food. And there's usually a good show on the walls by local artists. Get there early if you don't want to line up- the place is rightly popular, not just with me. Recommended.

Slides from Great to Average

By ebcnaz |

Besides the new paint, the food has changed from great to average with service below average. A long time favorite has slipped. The is not as tasty, the portions are smaller, and the service is less. My potatoes were extremely salty and all I got was "I am sorry." They should not charged me for those. The coffee cake portions are smaller and bland tasting compared to before. Too bad. This was a great place to eat.

Fantastic restaurant but the name is misleading

By travelhappyseattle |

The name "Grill and Alehouse" made me think it was going to be a burger type place. That is definitely not the case. What you will find here is amazing, fancier food and really good prices. My brother told me he always has an excellent meal when he goes here, so I recently took my dad. We were both so impressed by our meals. I had Steelhead Piccata which was lemony and perfectly seasoned Steelhead on a bed of mashed potato and perfectly cooked vegetables. My dad had the special seared scallops which he said was amazing. And both dinners were priced barely above a burger in these so-called "gastro-pubs" around here. I'll be returning again very soon!

Great beers on tap.

Great little place

By IronDude2008 |

Visiting from out of town amd a friend took us there for brunch. All 4 of us had great meals. Chiliquellas were great as were the drinks

Unbelievable

By icyorange |

We went there for dinner, the food was just average but what i would like to share was i ordered coffee prior to dinner and it wasn't hot at all and so i told the server and she mentioned 'I will put it in the microwave for you'. Unbelievable. You would think that they would brew a new coffee for you, or something else but telling the customers that you will re heat the coffee is just a terrible way of handling beverages.

Loved it!

By seatown44 |

Might be my new favorite West Seattle spot. The Steelhead Special was amazing. My wife's bbq chicken salad was also great. Started with the Mediterranean plate which was the best I've had. On top of that, they couldn't have a better staff. Can't wait to go back.

Great brunch

By BackpackerNoMore62 |

If I lived in the neighborhood, I'd eat here regularly. I love to eat brunch, and Circa serves a wonderful one: tasty, varied, inexpensive and generous. The ambience is very tastefully done, and the toilets are the nicest I've every seen in an everyday restaurant. This place has class.

This serendipitous find for lunch was pure bliss!

By dormand l |

We were in West Seattle to source an arcane electronics part and wanted to have lunch to avoid the traffic gridlock on the bridge we saw going West. A clerk said that he had heard great things about Circa across the street. We were delighted to see that Circa offers lamb burgers, which are hard to find. I suggest that lunch at Circa was pure bliss, with the lamb burgers and the home cut fries. Those of you who cringe at the sight of a Sysco truck will find the fare here to be rewarding. The portions are so ample, that unless you are a lumberjack or are just terminating a three week fast, that you share the lamb burger with a friend or family member. These are outstanding, but they are huge!!! West Seattle is not convenient to where we live, but we will definitely be back as this place was incredibly good. They have a large selection of craft beers on tap to complement the great food.

Try this Grill!

By Grant1834 |

Me and my two friends dined at the Circa Neighborhood Grill and Alehouse on California Avenue in West Seattle on the evening of Sunday, January 31, 2016. It is a stone's throw from the corner of Admiral Way and California Avenue on the west side of the avenue. It was the first time we were at this restaurant, and even though we did not have reservations, we had no trouble getting a table. The restaurant is physically on the smaller side but this lends to the cozy atmosphere that we picked up on once inside. We were seated right at the back of the restaurant in a booth and when we looked toward the street the bar was on the right in the room space and the entrance was on the left at the front skewed corner of the room. Table service was very nice and we had a bottle of Bula red wine that complimented our meal extremely well. The wine list was not huge, rather, it was tastefully chosen and we were not disappointed with the selections available. All of the food was well presented and most enjoyable. I cannot neglect to say the size of the dessert portions was large. I split a chocolate fudge cake with one of my friends and there was plenty for both of us so don't be shy on ordering one dessert with two forks, as you will not encounter a shortage, if my experience is typical of what portion size usually is. All in all, this was an enjoyable evening for us and I can recommend this grill.

Fantastic dinner

By Merilyn M |

This evening we were in West Seattle on our way to an event. We had read some reviews about Circa and decided to try it. We were not disappointed! We ordered the crab cakes with vegetables and the steelhead piccata. Both of them were prepared perfectly. The server was friendly and helpful regarding our selections, and I think the price for the meal quality-wise was exceptional value.

A pretty good place

By m d |

We had lunch there and ordered the hummus plate, which was rich and very good. Also the shredded coconut tempura prawns, which were heavy on the tempura, rather than light and crispy. The sauce was uncomplicated and overly sweet. The small side salad of mixed greens, cranberries, and gorgonzola was tasted, but had not been tossed -- one of those pour over the top operations. It satisfied, basically, but did not excel.

Great Hamburgers

By Todd A |

My wife and mother-in-law were craving hamburgers and CIrca was in the neighborhood. It's a small, cozy place and we got there 5 minutes or so before the 5:00 opening and had to wait in the rain. Hamburgers large and tasty with a great bun and all the fixings with it easily satisfied everyones need for beef. Service was pretty good after some initial testiness that we weren't sure what we wanted right away and wish they would have seen several if us standing in the heavy rain and let us in a few minutes early. All in all a good neighborhood place I would recommend.........but don't get there too early!

Racist restaurant in West Seattle

By koppenhagen |

Absolutely had a horrible service at this place. Rude bartender who only services people who look like her. Terrible. We were the only minorities in the bar and the only ones that weren't serviced. Never been treated like this in a restaurant in a progressive city like Seattle. Read other low ratings of this place - they were mostly written by colored folks. BOYCOTT CIRCA! This is a terrible and racist place!

Great neighborhood restaurant

By SuzyQ62 |

Circa is one of our favorite restaurants in West Seattle. Mains range from dinner salads to steaks and fish to vegetarian entrees. They have a good beer selection and a few nice wines by the glass. Service is fast and friendly. I usually try some of the beers on tap. There are daily specials that are always great. They have a nice hummus plate that is good for sharing or for a meal. Sometimes it gets a little noisy inside and it is usually pretty busy...because we locals like it so much!

Won't go back

By Rain-mom-8 |

We asked a few questions about the menu before we ordered, such as whether there was a lot of butter or oil in one dish. We also let them know one person was on a low salt diet. Unfortunately, my dish was dripping in oil and the other dish was too salty. We let the server know. She was barely responsive. We've been there before and the food was okay then but the last two times we've gone the food has been below average. We won't be going back.

Eggs Benedict at Circa makes Sunday Complete

By rjb333 |

I'll admit it. I'm addicted. I've tried other places in West Seattle, but this is the best. It's small & cozy with changing (interesting) art. I love the blend of sausage with sauce - eggs are always cooked perfectly. I would give it a 5, but the wait staff always seem like they could care less if you were there or not. Not exactly unfriendly, just blasé.

Dinner with Friends

By Howieboy |

Enjoy a low cost tasty meal. Friendly service. A Bar for a cocktail. Cozy booths for family and friends. I had Penn Cove mussels, which I love. A good selection of foods.

Best burger date in town!

By griffinz |

Delicious soups, apps, burgers, beer, and chocolate cake for dessert! Treat yourself to a cozy night out. Very small, could be a long wait, so timing is everything.

Great menu, huge portions

By Jane G |

Dinner was amazing. You can get fancy with a butternut squash and mole taco plate or traditional with fish and chips ($14). I loved the sweet potato fries! And I recommend the coconut cream pie for dessert. The food came very quickly and the service was friendly. Makes me wish I lived in Seattle so I could eat there regularly.

What a GREAT BRUNCH!!!

By rmarkman |

My GF and I ate at Circa for the first time and boy it did not disappoint! Delicious brunch with great bloody mary and mimosa. I had the BLAT (bacon, lettuce, avocado, and tomato) sandwich. BTW - the largest portion of bacon ever! (see photos). My GF had the "Slacker" Chilaquiles. Both were fantastic and we will be back again. Only thing missing is the lack of a dedicated website. Need to get on that Circa!

Ya just can’t go wrong!

By Gary R |

We’ve actually dined here many times...and we’ve never been disappointed. Be there right at 5 when they open for dinner or be prepared for a wait! My mom ordered their special of the day which happened to be halibut, and it was like melt in your mouth good. I had the chicken-fried steak with their semi-mashed potatoes and fresh grilled veggies...just fabulous. I can honestly say that the 20 or so times we’ve eaten here we’ve NEVER been disappointed. The servers are always wonderful, a good experience every time. I very seldom hand out 5 star reviews but they deserve it...they’ve earned it

One try and you're hooked for life...

By Steve D |

Our favorite Seattle restaurant/pub, Circa is the standard bearer for great food, fun times in a familiar high-walk-score urban neighborhood environment, and superb friendly unpretentious service. I've never had a meal there I didn't love, and I've tried nearly everything over the 10 years we've lived here. Menu choices are diverse and interesting, always prepared with great care and attention to detail. The staff is the icing on the cake, uniformly friendly, outgoing, and attentive. A wide range of rotating taps and wine selection are also a nice plus I always look forward to. Prepare for a short wait any night of the week unless you get there early, as the secret is out on this great Seattle find, but it's well worth the wait. Brunch is also a great treat here.

Love this Place!

By loridV7773RR |

Circa has a great variety of food and drink, great services, warm feel. Great for breakfat through dinner. Local owners.

Great place, Head for a cheap movie afterwards

By astrolake |

The place is warm and inviting, a good pub feel as others have commented. Both the beer and wine selection are terrific. The food here is very good. The range is good, based on excellent ingredients, but they take care in not stretching the kitchen too far (notice that others really love the burger--they do stretch beyond that). You will find simple things with Western, Mexican or pan-Asian themes on the menu. You gotta love the staff. They are a lovely group that is a riot to watch. While not in a real "destination" class, it's worth heading here if you plan an evening in W. Seattle. The Admiral is just a block or two down the street.

I like the steak salad.

By InsolitoDavid |

This is the only thing I have ever come here for. The asian steak salad is great. The meal version of the same is also good. Unfortunately I can't help but order one of the two so I don't really know what else goes on here... But those two things are great!

Fantastic place!

By A D |

Cute, great food, excellent service, nice wine selection. One of our favorite impromptu stops during our trip – if I am ever back there again, will definitely go!

Great for breakfast, excellent burger and good fish-n-chips.

Burger recommended

By Dave E |

The burger was recommended and I agree. Stopped at this small place for lunch and were very happy with the food and the service. I can imagine it gets crowded, but on a weekday early lunch it was very comfortable.

Great food!

By Suzanne M |

For a neighborhood bar & grill, the food was not standard! The "meatloaf bomb" sandwich was delicious, and the Lamb burger with spinach, aioli & goat cheese was satisfying. The tomato bisque was hearty... Even the barbeque chicken salad was tasty! Our group of 7 ordered different entrées and we were all very happy.

Nice surprise

By 96Juanita |

My friend and I go out mornings for breakfast thus this was on our list. The menu is substantial with some nice gourmet touches. The prices were comprable to the menu. Service excellent and friendly wait staff with quaint atmosphere. It is a small restaurant and has limited hoursopens later on weekdays compared to other places which serve breakfast . It was appropriately busy on the weekend.

Circa Delivers

By Todd A |

CIrca was available so we had a quick dinner and enjoyed it all. Wife had the special of beans, rice and andouille and loved it. My friend and I each had a very nice burger with all the trimmings. Aside from the fries being way over salted everything was exceptional. Going back again tonight hoping for a reprise performance.

I love this place too! Worth the wait if it's crowded, which it usually is!

Loved this place for dinner--food and service were both outstanding

By Steve W |

I'm in Seattle on business and have been trying to find local places to try out. Happened to be in West Seattle and Circa looked small and cozy. A friend and I decided to give it a try and we are both glad we did. We both ordered appetizers and dinner entrees and we both thought they were great. I had the Sriracha brussels sprouts and a marinated skirt steak. Both were perfectly cooked and super tasty. Our server, Angeline aka Little Grasshopper, was super outgoing and engaging. I highly recommend Circa if you happen to be in the Admiral neighborhood of West Seattle.

Love this Place!

By jwilson23 |

Been to Circa about a dozen times and have never been disappointed. Food quality is high, service is friendly and good. Only caveat, and admittedly it's a personal preference, short list of micro brews, would like to see more selection. The steak salad is especially good.

Favorite Neighborhood Restaurant

By katy c |

My husband and I LOVE Circa. This is our go-to place to go out and eat. We've been there several times with just the two of us, and have taken friends with us a few times. Great location for date night or for a small group. Food: We love the food here. We've tried several different things, but absolutely LOVE the bbq chicken salad. The food is delicious, high quality, and fresh. The portions are also very good sized, my husband and I can generally split a meal and both get plenty to eat. Service: The service here is great. The servers treat everyone as though they are regulars. This is truly a neighborhood grill. Take out: We've only ordered take-out here once, but it is an option, and the food was almost as good at home as it is in the restaurant :-) Value: The food here is also a good value. As I mentioned above, portion sizes are fairly large, and you can get most entrees in the $12-$20 range. Atmosphere: The restaurant is in a fairly small space and because of how great the food is, the place is normally pretty crowded (and if you don't get there early enough, there is generally a wait), but even when it is crowded, you still have enough privacy at your table to feel like you are eating dinner with the people you arrived with, not the entire restaurant. Cons: I can only think of 2 cons of this restaurant - 1) there is often a short wait (but the food is worth is!), and there isn't a very good waiting area 2) they don't take reservations, and you can't call ahead to put your name on the list.

Excellent meal at a good price

By terry-neutralBay |

We were recommended this place by our house swap partner - a local (we are from down under) Ordered the mussels as a shared appetiser - absolutely the best mussels ever! I had the ribs - perfect. Others had the trout, crab cake and skirt steak. All good and the final bill was quite reasonable. Would recommend to anyone - but get there early as we saw queues most days (not sure they take reservations - don't think so!)

Good food but bleach smell overpowering

By Genet S |

I live in the neighborhood of Circa, and have tried 4 times over the years to have brunch or dinner, only to step inside the door and be overcome by the smell of bleach. Except for one evening, when the smell wasn't too bad, I walked away every time. The one time I DID stay, I thought the food and the wait staff were both very good! The salad was fresh and delicious with chicken -- the hamburger cannot be outmatched along that strip of California Avenue in West Seattle. My suggestion is to go, but to say something to the manager if you also are repulsed by the smell of bleach. When I walk into a restaurant, I expect it to smell like good food, not a bathroom.

Always solid

By Michael A |

Casual enviro with darn good eats. Several beers on tap to satisfy any taste. Great Cuban and the meatloaf is very satisfying.

Great find

By Nicola d |

We found this place by accident while visiting West Seattle and were very pleased with it - the service and the food were really good.. I had the bacon and brie sandwich and my husband had a burger - both were excellent! I also enjoyed a Thai chicken soup to start which was freshly made with a kick.

Great Local Place for Food

By Rose |

We met family members here for brunch. Very pleased with the food, service and price. As their name indicates, it seemed to be the place where the neighborhood came for Sunday brunch! Would definitely return. Various types of omelettes and other egg dishes available.

Great date spot for a hungry couple

By The Walkers |

Circa is definitely in our rotation of places to eat. We’ve been here 3-4 times over the last year and only had good experiences. The staff is very friendly making it the type of place you’d want to be a regular at. The restaurant is small and dark but has a well stocked bar. The menu is delicious, highly recommend the meatloaf! This time around we had the burger since we’re on a mission to compare burgers in our area and the only “best of Seattle” lists we can find were written by people who rarely leave Ballard. We’ll give the burger a solid 4 out of 5. It was cooked exactly how we ordered and comes with the normal toppings. The seasoning is great and the flavor overall is excellent for a classic cheeseburger. We’ll be back for this again.

Always Great

I have been coming here for 4 years and the food is always Great! The food is creative to the point of not being showy, but being GREAT! The restaurant and staff are Consistent and on the mark. I never have to worry when I bring guests here.

Great food, great service and mellow vibes

By Cyndi G |

Came here w my boyfriend for a quick dinner on a Sunday night. We ordered the spinach bacon dip (a special that night),really good very salty though. Also the pork Hawaiian enchiladas and steak were amazing . Natasha was our server and we appreciated and loved her suggestions.

50 cents for BBQ sauce. Really???

By DanPvr |

Ate here Jan. 6. Food was good. Service good. I had a Pulled pork sandwich which was pretty bland and needed some sauce. I asked for some BBQ sauce and got it, but when the bill came, we noticed that we were charged 50 cents for it. The management really ought to rethink this. It makes the place look nit-picky or strapped for cash or something. But, mostly, just silly. Why not charge for silverware, salt, pepper etc. I will always remember the place for 50 cents, not good food in a nice venue.

Fabulous

Dinner

By pdrpete |

Surprise and exercise your tastebuds! You will find something you'll like on the menu , the mussel appetizer with toasted sour dough bread is a must have( ask for extra bread to soak up as much of the sauce as you can !)

Great experience, once seated!

By Jupiter79 |

I have eaten at Circa a few times over the past couple months. Each time, it's relatively the same experience. If you eat early, you shouldn't have a problem getting a table or booth. However, seating runs out pretty quickly. The bar area occupies almost half of this small restaurant. Regardless, once you are seated, the service is prompt and occasionally extra chummy. There is an assortment of food on the menu, including vegetarian options. None of which I have been disappointed by. If you're looking for comfort food, I highly recommend the meatloaf!

Nice surprise nearby in Seattle.

By FatEddie |

Rented an airbnb in West Seattle, near Metropolitan Market. Walked by Circa and dropped in for a Friday afternoon toddy and snack, sitting at the bar. Excellent wine (Chardonnay, Gravel Ba) and draft beer (Manny's). Gumbo quite good and fried oysters done just right. Excellent service from Natasha.

Too noisy. Too many drunks...

By Max98116 |

Among my friends in the neighborhood, this place is known for burgers. But be prepared. It's very noisy and small. Several people at the bar were VERY drunk, and it changed the atmosphere. If you want quiet conversation... go out the front door, head north, on the same side of the street, there are 3 restaurants. All of them are better especially the first one next door to the movie theater. You'll love it.

Great neighborhood spot

we love it! The food, the waitstaff, everything about this charming neighborhood spot is fabulous!

Great spot after a movie

By Brett L |

Great restaurant and friendly staff. Bar tender was friendly and let you taste to make sure you liked. Waitress over the top helpful, fun and friendly, do not know her name but Asian decent. Had meat loaf, over the top good. Mother had steak salad, very good.

Great brew selection and quality NW pub fare

By David60878 |

If you are looking for a relaxed place for Pacific NW pub fare, this one is for you. I live a few blocks away and have been here probably approaching 50 times. I've a had almost everything on the menu. Here are some of my favorites: Grilled Steak Salad = Generous tender flank steak on a huge salad with a vinaigrette dressing. It green enough that you leave feeling like a good boy or girl for ordering healthily, but big enough for satisfaction. Beer Battered Fish & Chips = Generally this is not the sort of thing I would order from any restaurant, but the Ling Cod is perfectly tender. Anyone who has cooked a white fish at home knows how easy it is to overcook. Circa is moist and delicious. The Best Grilled Meatloaf = This is really a NW pub fare meets country cooking. It's a calorie bomb that will make you think of momma's cooking. You'll waddle home or to your car satisfied and smiling. Butternut Squash Tacos = This dish has outlasted the last two changes to their menu, so you know it has got to be good. Yummy! Fire Grilled Romaine Heart Salad = fairly new addition to the menu and not something I'd ever had before. Think BBQ-ed salad with Caesar dressing. Smokey, salady and delicious.

Hidden Gem for a Great Breakfast

By Katie D |

My husband and I search the apps for interesting breakfast restaurants and were pleasantly surprised when we were lead to Circa. The Beignets were like attending the Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans. There were a couple of young girls at the bar who had never seen beignets before and were in awe, so we sent them an order. My husband had the Louisiana Eggs Benedict and I had Bananas Foster Brioche French Toast. Both dishes were amazing. The service was great as well.

By Jason R |

Circa is my favorite place to eat for dinner as well as a killer brunch. Get the Circa burger and you will not be dissatisfied or hungry once you are finished. The service is absolutely wonderful as well. Even though there isn't a great deal of seating, once seated and you get to indulge in their magnificent food, you soon realize that it was all worth the wait. Highly recommend.

cozy neighborhood restaurant

By Michele H |

We went to dinner early because it's a small place and it can fill up quickly. They have a great variety of beer on tap and wines by the glass, we sampled a few and made our selections. We then started with the brussel sprouts and then had the skirt steak and chicken piccata and then the awesome chocolate lava cake and yummy apple beignets. The food and service was great - would recommend for sure.

Our "Go To" place for neighborhood our style of comfort food.

By Jules&Jim |

After work on our way home my hubby and I will look at each other and say “don’t want to cook tonight” which means we are headed to Circa. For over ten years it has been our “go to” place for our type of comfort food. Their beers on tap always are a delight and even if it isn't on the menu you can order a glass of Townsend Vortex Red by just asking. It’s a tough choice on whether one of us gets the grilled steak salad or the chicken enchilada’s or the butternut squash ravioli or the daily special. We usually order two dishes that we both like because we share to be able to have the best of two dishes we like. Their Facebook page temps us constantly with what they have cooking for soup or special is on the daily menu. The staff is always friendly; restrooms are spotless and even though you might have to wait a bit your meal will be delightful. Oh and I must mention their “seasonal” pumpkin crème brule in the fall which is wonderful!

Great find

Awesome service and great food and portions!! Definitely visit again !!try the Brussels sprouts they were amazing!!

Intimate neighborhood dining

By Krisinseattle |

Came here for dinner with some West Seattle locals. The booth benches are hard and the music straight out of the 80’s and toe tapping! Enjoyed the BBQ Chicken salad and the Crawfish Enchilada, which came with a scoop of rice and a blob of black beans. Unfortunately the food was lukewarm, guess I should’ve sent it back for a heat up. Was tasty in flavor however. Service responsive and wine list covered the basics. Would recommend!

I got a southwest salad, and my husband got the Salmon over rice special. They were both just okay. The presentation was nice, but the taste was just average. Our waitress was excellent, but the place was a bit dingy. We wouldn't go here again.

Food good, service slow

Nice place. Food was good. Service was slow and not coordinated. Atmosphere had a lot of less desirables hanging around. Not as good as a few years ago. Not sure I'll go back.

Great neighborhood restaurant

We live in West Seattle and always enjoy dinner at Circa. It's a small, neighborhood spot with a nice menu selection and small bar. A nice brunch spot too. We usually order the steak salad. Not a great spot for large groups but definitely a great choice.

The Grilled Steak Salad is magnificent

By DeneMiles |

First of all this place has been in business for 18 ish years, which is huge. That's saying a lot in the food industry in itself. I know it's recently taken on new ownership, not sure of any changes. I've been going here for years and the grilled steak salad is my "go to". Second favorite item is the mole enchiladas. Never had a thing I didn't like here. It's on the smaller side so if coming for dinner i'd recommend getting there close to 5 for immediate seating. I believe they are also closed from 2 - 5 each day.
