Placed our order at 5:25 and we were told 25 minutes. We arrived at 5:40 and our order was ready on the counter. We had to wait about 10 min because only one line was open. It took 5 min to get back to room and pizza was ice cold and doughy. The only reason it got 2 stars was that the garlic bread was warm. Very disappointed.

I visited with a friend from out if town for lunch. They were busy, but found us a table outside. Outside seating us shaded and nice. Food order got disjointed. First pizza came out cold. Like college dorm room cold. Since we had waited so long, and no second pizza in sight, it was eaten. I'd like to imagine that if the food had been hot, it would have been good. At the end, management comped our drinks. I won't be back.

We were drawn to this quaint restaurant because we love a nice glass of wine and we were pleasantly surprised. The Malbec they have is delicious and Stephanie was an amazing server. The salmon dish they have there is delicious and we recommended it to all our friends that joined us and they all agreed it was delicious. Eric is a great cook in the back! We were in Dallas for 4 full days and we came to this restaurant every day. When we come back to Dallas we will certainly be coming back to enjoy it again and say hi to Stephanie! Thanks for the great experience and the wonderful conversation !! See you next time!

Tried their pizza and it was very good. Thin & crisp crust with plenty of ingredients. Right across the street from the Kay Baily Hutchison convention center.

We came in for lunch and ordered 2 pizzas and shrimp spaghetti. The pizzas were 12 in, enough for 2 people to share , pasta was good but all 3 items were nothing special. Very convenient if you are staying at the Omni or have a convention. Big wine selection.

Took my 7 year old son for dinner. We really enjoyed the awesome service, the server sat down to discuss what my son wanted for dinner so that she got it right. Food was great and plenty of it!

we are a bit of snobs on pizza and this was ok but not exceptional. there is no parking as this is across from the omni hotel.

Second of seven restaurant reviews during my early May stay in Dallas to attend the 2016 GOP Convention. I love thin crust brick oven pizza, but this is yet another place in the DFW area that charges too much and delivers too little. Skimpy sauce and toppings on bland pies with way too much outer crust. I'll take store bought frozen Tombstone pizza over restaurants like this every day!

We walked in at 9p on a Friday night and there were only four other people in the entire place. We ordered three different times only to find out they did not have ANY of the wines we were looking to enjoy. The waitress said, "I have no idea what is going on, we have not seen a replenishment in a week or two." We promptly moved on.

We nipped into this place last minute but it was great. Food was quick and tasted great. Great friendly service and pretty good value Directly opposite the Omni Hotel.

Terrific Pizza and salads. Enjoyed this place for dinner and lunch. Great location, clean and the food is very good. Some self service for lunch.

Got a pizza to take back to the room at the Omni. Not much sauce and not that tasty either. Better to get something at Texas Spice or at The Owners Box.

Great Pizza and good value. Nice wine, friendly staff, ...what more could you want. Recommended for a predictable Italian meal

Stopped here to catch up with friends during a convention. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable, the food was excellent, and the service was top-notch! We had a great night!

Stopped off for a quick pizza / dessert after attending a day of meetings at the Omni. Sausage and pepper pizza was very good. Waitress was very friendly and the service was excellent. Will be back next time I'm in the area.

Like other reviewers, we were at the convention center for several days and came upon Coal Vines after a long day. We were hungry, tired and pizza sounded great. Unfortunately, Coal Vines is built for people like us - those with few options and little time to make educated decisions. Like others, we got cold, doughy pizza that clearly had been rushed through the defrost and cooking process, and the staff was in a hurry to close despite plenty of people still interested (read: desperate) to order. The one staffer most engaged was totally preoccupied with the front door staying closed - to the point of getting annoyed anytime someone would walk through it. The door doesn't close on it's own, so be it. It's 75 degrees and clear outside - deal with the other 19 tasks you have at hand. $30 bucks later we were on our way, hopefully not to return, but we'll probably be back and that's what Coal Vines is counting on.

The white pizza was awesome! We actually ate it two nights. Lasagna was good, too. Got it to go, so not sure about the service.

Had a great pizza and Caesar salad, went well with a nice Merlot. Service was excellent as well. Prices are more than reasonable.

I was in Dallas 5-15 and staying at Aloft a block or so away. No restaurant there, so walked to the Omini. It appeared that the Omni Hotel on the same property had a convention and everyone was attending the convention dinner event. So the Coal Vines was completely empty on a Tuesday night. I had delicious Chicken Parmigiana , it wasn't from those frozen fillets. So good. Served on Spaghetti. Tiramisu was a large portion, made on site and so good. I sat at the bar, and the bartender was a dream. Wine was OK. I'm from CA Wine Country and probably fussy.

I was happy that they offered gluten-free crust. I ordered the 'classic' pizza. It looked good when it came to the table. But the taste was disappointing - very little sauce so all I tasted was the salty crust and salty cheese. My friend seemed to really enjoy his sausage pizza.

Just Across the street from the Omni Hotel, very convenient for dinner. I had the chicken parmigian and my wife had their pizza. The food was very good and reasonably priced. It was a midwinter weeknight, so the place was mostly empty.

I was attending a conference in the adjacent Omni. This place looked like it had promise. That promise was broken. I sat and waited, literally, for over 15 minutes before someone came over and asked if someone was helping me. Considering there was only ONE server in the place, did she really not know the answer to that? I finally got to place a drink order and was asked if I also was ready to order my food. Again, really? After that long of a wait? I ordered the most basic of pizzas: a pepperoni. Simple, but some of the most simple pizzas can be sublime. This was not that pizza. It tasted horribly like a frozen pizza that had been stuck in an oven, and even then it was underdone. In the process of my meal I was given my drink, a beer, for free. Had it not been spilled on me it would have been a good thing. I felt sorry for the waitress. She was obviously trying to do the work of 3 servers, and for that I blame management. These kinds of things -- next to a conference hotel!!! -- should not happen.

I have tried the pizza it was really good. The crust was authentic and similar to the one I have had in Italy.

located right across the street from the Omni hotel. Ive eaten here twice both on a sunday on the way out of town. both times we had the restaurant to ourselves. good wait staff, seeing we had the same person both times ha. good sized pizzas at a decent price. appetizers a bit high priced. looked like a good wine selection. super convenient if you want to stay close to hotel

This restaurant has a captive audience and convention crowd from the Omni hotel. The wine was too warm out of the keg. The Caesar salad lettuce was partly brown and drowning in dressing ... the pizza crust was great but the bolanese pizza was edible only with lots of added cheese and spices. I am sorry we spent $60 here and I won't be back.

Great service. Great Pizza. Great Price. Great place for the kids and I while we stayed at the Omni.

They have very good Wood Fired Pizzas. Their "Spicy Meatball" Pizza is great. No false advertising when they call it "SPICY Meatball"..... When near the Convention Center, we always try to hit Coal Vines. We stopped in this past Thursday (and Friday....the spicy meatball pizza is that good that it warranted a return visit) and the service was great.

Good pizza and great wine selection. I’m a picky NJ pizza eater and this place hit the spot. Add in a great wine selection and dessert and I’ll be sure to visit again on our next trip to Dallas. Nice location basically connected to the Omni Hotel convention center. Service was also great.

We had a Coal Vines that closed in the Houston area . It had varied and delicious food . It had an extensive wine list. This place was cute inside the menu limited and pricey. The pizza was fair the spaghetti was bland and the noodles cold with meatballs was bland not a tasty sauce. We had 2 9 Oz glasses of $78.00 .

After an evening spent with friends receiving slow and poor service in a number of bars in Uptown Dallas area what a pleasure (and relief!) it was to walk into Coal Vines. We were attended to promptly; service was excellent and food was good and plenty of it. Variety of appetizers followed by a large pizza split into two toppings. Been here a number of times and always a good experience.

We stopped in for dinner and wine. They were only serving pizza on this night. We were told it was due to new ownership and they were in between menus. The pizza was very good and we had a Malbec that went great with the pizza. I'm sure I'll give it 4 stars when they start serving more food. I recommend stopping in when you're in downtown Dallas.

The service and wait time was not good. They had an advertisement on the table of a pizza and salad special. Someone at our table tried to order it and was told we no longer have that. Then remove it from the table. Don't advertise something you don't have. The food was good. I have to give them credit where credit is due. We paid with our debit card and left the tip on the card. In checking our online banking account two debits were showing and taken from our account: one without the tip and one with - neither were in pending status. We go back the next day and ask to speak with the manager and show our receipt and online account that two transactions had been deducted. We were told this happens a lot and one will drop off in a day or so because it's pending. In looking at our account neither was pending and both taken from the available balance. I insisted this was not right. They showed a guy in a suit. I couldn't hear what was said. Came back and told us he said the same thing she said - one will fall off. Contact our bank today and to no surprise were told there is no record of any attempt to remove one of the charges. My advise is to not eat there since the restaurant is badly managed. If you do, make sure you don't use a credit or debit card. Our bank is disputing the charge and should get the money back into our account. We tried to get them to make it right and they didn't. This has cost us valuable time trying to get this resolved. This would not have happened at a good managed restaurant, I know we will not be eating there again. They do not deserve our business.

We met friends while attending the DCS. We had the Spicy Meatball Pizza - whew! Definitely fiery, and very tasty. Had the Old Vine Zinfandel and it was the best I’ve had since having Turley Old Vine Zinfandel. Would come back next time to we go to DCS.

Located adjacent to the convention center, Coal Vines has unremarkable standard food options (order, take a number sign and sit down, inside or out). The restaurant is positioned and designed to cater to the convention center crowd. Instead of a speedy meal, it was super slow even for my salad. My fellow diner finished his pizza before I received and started mine. I literally had to get up and talk to the staff three times to assure them they had forgotten or lost my order. They apologized but did not offer to adjust the bill.

We enjoyed the pizza and the spaghetti and meatballs. The wine by the glass was a little pricey for the selection. Service was good, atmosphere was not inspiring. Being near the door on a cold day is a very bad idea.

From the outside, it looked like a wine bar so I was hoping for cheese/charcuterie platters. I had a meatball sandwich and didn't like the meatballs at all but liked the cheesy bread. Also, they have big doors that they keep open so it can feel a little drafty on a cold day.

This is a great place for a quick bite of really good food. The waitstaff was efficient and friendly and the food as excellent. They offer a great wine list. Will recommend and come again- it was in easy walking distance to most downtown hotels.

We really enjoyed the breeze while we were dining. The pizza was great. This is the type of place that you order at the counter and then take your numbered sign to the table for your food to be delivered.

Excellent thin crust pepperoni. The brushetta was a bit odd, unlike most other places. It was ok, but not great. Red wine was good.

convenient due to its proximity (across the road) from the Convention center, rather fast service, but basic food, and high prices!

The food is excellent if you want it "as is" from the menu. Any variation, creates an issue. Both visits, they got my order wrong. Also their menu is extremely limited so I rather drive to the other locations.

Really enjoyed this place. The food was OK, but the wine was very good. Really enjoyed that they had 1 of my favorites on tap. The food selection is pizza, pasta, and salad. A little more limited than in their other locations (as I understand). Outdoor seating available. Across the driveway from the Omni Hotel.

We were attending a conference at the Convention Center. A companion recommended this great pizza place across the street. I wasn't too keen on it, it sounded pretty pricey, but we went anyway. I was pleasantly surprised. Pizzas was awesome, prices were reasonable, certainly lower than I had expected, and the service was outstanding. I'm wanting to say the pizzas were in the $10 price range for an individual pizza? We are returning to the same conference in January of 2018 and we'll will certainly try to return for some more of that great pizza. Highly recommend.

Craving pizza so stopped in. Ended up going with bruschetta because I thought $11 for a personal size cheese pizza was insane. Bruschetta was ok. Not worth ordering again. Had goat cheese on it - which I thought was a bad idea. Tea and bruschetta app cost me $12.

The girls here work hard and are superb at their job with outstanding service. Food is American - you get it?? but the wine is interesting and it was the best thing about the OMNI hotel. Definitely worth your time.

After being in the ait conditioned, cold convention center it was great to sit outside and have drinks. Very good service and suggestions.

Really enjoyed the food here, had the pizza and salad. Ingredients were really fresh. The menu looked great. It's right outside the Convention center with a row of restaurants that cater to a bunch of different tastes.

We ate lunch here due to it's convenient location. They had a lunch special which included a personal pepperoni pizza, salad, and drink for $12. All of their pizzas are normally priced $12.95 except for the cheese pizza which is a lower price. I asked if I could substitute a different pizza for the pepperoni as part of the lunch special and was told no, only the pepperoni is part of the lunch special. Since the pizzas are priced the same and they are made fresh when ordered, I find this unacceptable. Customer service they know nothing about. Another person in our party ordered a pepperoni personal pizza with a drink which came to $17 and the cashier never bothered to let him know he could get that plus a salad cheaper if he ordered the lunch special. I did order a chicken pizza with water. The pizza was okay. I've actually had better frozen pizza than what they serve here. The water was very refreshing. It was very hot outside and they had all of the doors open, so we sat there sweating while we ate lunch. I will never go to this dump again.

We were dropping my sister-in-law at the Omni Hotel for a conference and decided to grab a quick bite at one of the several restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Coal Vines had the smallest crowd, in fact no crowd at all so we dropped in, after all it is an established chain. The first thing we found out was that bartender was the ONLY server on the premises. This is on a Saturday night. Bless her heart she was working hard and most of the people there were drinking not eating. She did say the cooks were there so we ordered two individual pizzas and I had a chicken Caesar salad. The pizzas were cardboard in texture and taste and my Caesar salad was about two minutes away from wilting and the chicken was tough and tasteless. It was one of the worst meals we've had in some time. Maybe it was just a bad night but I would walk right by this place and stand in line at another restaurant if I was ever in the area.

We were attending a conference at the Omni across the street and a colleague and I took a break from the hotel and stopped for a pizza. They were very accommodating when my friend asked for a fried egg on the pizza :) Service was very friendly. Not crowded on a weekday around 5pm.

We were really excited that you guys had cauliflower crust! Disappointed that two beers were more than $10 for two. That was crazy.

I gave it a good review because the waitress was sweet! The place was nice to look at - bricks walls and candlelight.

We stayed in the area for three days & our cheapest meal was here. The pizza was good & the lemonade was excellent. Our food came out quickly.

We met friends here. We wanted good Italian and a friendly atmosphere which we found. I had the lasagna. It was pretty standard, tasty, and huge. I couldn't finish it. A buddy had the magarhita pizza. He loved it. We sat on the patio and it was fine. Our waitress was AWESOME.

Overall this place was just okay for me. Really enjoyed the environment. My pizza was good but nothing extraordinary and my wine was just okay- tasted a bit old. And the pizza got cold quickly. Overall good prices. Convent to walk to from the Omni which is where we were staying. Good place to sit and talk with friends.

We have eaten here on several occasions for cheer competitions and they never disappoint. We are here again on a Saturday night and it was quiet and quaint. We had the bruschetta, ceasar salad and pepperoni pizza. Everything was really good and filling. Definitely recommend when down in dallas.
Delicious
The pizza was so good we went back twice in our 3 days there. The staff is friendly, the service was efficient and effective, and the food delicious. Highly recommend
