Nice evening for a single traveler

By Beth G |

I stayed at the Hampton Inn next door and this restaurant was walking distance. The plan was to order takeout and enjoy a glass of wine at the bar while waiting. The bartender was great and made me feel comfortable about dining alone so I ordered the grilled cheese with tomato soup and sat at the bar to eat. The homemade potato chips were a bonus!

If staying at the Sheraton this is close and food was good

By NSP9454 |

We visited a couple times for drinks and for breakfast one morning. Service was very good. Prices were no surprise given its location. Not too noisy.

Ok but over priced

By jpr2005 |

Food was just ok burger was over priced and over cooked but salads were huge and good only complaint about them is why they used iceberg Lettuce for a ceaser salad

Located in the Sheraton

By kuuru |

OK food, not bad for a hotel bar/restaurant. Fantastic service though. Convenient to where we stayed, next door at the Hampton Inn.

OK hotel food; understaffed and very slow

By NewportMania |

The restaurant is right in the lobby ... it is fairly overpriced, menu is limited but has a nice mix of choices. We waited 20 minutes (or more) from the time we sat to when we got water and menus... and then another 30 minutes to be served. Didn't live up to the good reviews.

Pleasantly Surprised

By CBEmerson |

Food is good, and portions are large so you wont be left thinking you're still hungry. Steak, salads, sandwiches, chicken plates; tried them all and always was good to eat and filling.

Colombia Grill & Bar

By IJtraveller |

Located within the Sheraton Portland Airport it is quite popular. Service is reasonable good - they were very busy! The Special - Fillet Mignon - was more expensive than I am used to but the meal was large. The meat was cooked exactly as requested and it was "melt in the mouth". With renovations continuing at the hotel they are restricted in space at the moment. Staff were as attentive as they could be as they were kept running between all the diners coming and going and it was a constant stream.

Submariners Breakfast & Drinks

By MitchPhyllis65 |

During a recent Submarine Reunion at the Sheraton we received daily complimentary breakfast in the Columbia Grill & Bar. They had a great selection of goodies to choose from and even had granola cereal that I liked. In the evening this Sub Sailor and wife enjoyed a few excellent martinis at the bar.

Columbia Grill

By Cindy D |

Very relaxed atmosphere and quick service. We had a late dinner and it was well prepared. Very nice ending to a long day.

Good food, convenient location

By jdog2855 |

We were here for a working lunch. Did not have very much time/options so decided to give it a try. I had the Cobb Salad and enjoyed it, but was not blown away, just pretty straight forward. It was decent, but for the price, would have liked it to be a bit more enjoyable. The lettuce chunks were big and awkward enough that I felt I needed to cut up my salad. The chicken was bland. With that said, the lettuce was crisp and fresh-tasting.The service was decent, but they were busy so it was not great. I was charged $3 for soda water and had to ask for one refill. Again, not horrible, just not wonderful. If you are staying at the hotel or are there for a meeting, it isn't a bad option. Just know that for what you get, you pay a bit more than you should. Guess you're paying for location.

Salmon was fresh and tender

By Gary_n_Kimberly |

The service provided by Joel was on-point and the food was stellar.

Delicious Breakfast!

By Stephanie C |

I enjoyed an egg-white scramble and thought the food was fresh and delicious. The service was welcoming and SPG knows how to take care of it's frequent business travelers!

Quick and close to airport

By DurangoRocks |

Decent hotel food when you are not in the mood to leave the area. Good service. Good cocktails. A little pricey but that is typical of near airport venues.

Mmm Tacos...

By 2peasinCbus |

The menu is diverse with lots to choose from- even so, I didn't want to eat there 3xday for a week. You can rent a microwave and fridge at the front desk.

made the trip way better

By daniel198994 |

Rocky was the man, without a doubt best bartender i have ever seen. He was helpful with drink selections and made sitting at the bar very entertaining. Could have been the beer but his magic tricks were pretty good. I'll definitely be back for my next trip to Portland.

Love This Place

By Herdlinger |

This has never been a destination restaurant for me. I travel to Portland Just to enjoy its many outstanding eateries. However, I stay at the Airport Sheraton and find myself eating here a time or two each trip. It is the Staff who really make this place. Don't get me wrong, I love the food but the people who prepare it and serve it are the biggest asset of this place. I had not been here for 8 months but was still greeted by name (correctly) by my server (Rocky). He recalled where I lived as well as what I usually ordered for breakfast. The rest of the staff are just as friendly and endearing including the dear Chef. The food is fresh, well prepared, and plentiful. Absolutely a high value. I highly recommend you give this place a try--especially if you are staying in this hotel or nearby. You won't be disappointed.

Delicious dinner sitting at the bar

By Linda E |

Traveling alone isn't always fun, but I had a good evening sitting at the bar, friendly and helpful bartender, and a delicious supper. They have a nice menu and some very good wines.

food was great but only one wait staff for whole pub area

By b w |

We had the salmon fish and chips and a salmon entree salad. We asked for water and had a beer and drink. no rolls or salad came with ,but it is good pub food with a full bar. comfortable seating and large enough with tvs and plenty of small and large tables. seemed to be bustling. we had to wait awhile ,but there was only one woman waiting on whole area and she was very pleasant and did a nice job. would go back was about $30 for all that

Ihave know the F &b manager for some little time. He does all he can to make you happy..His name is Antonio

By CHUCKandDEREK |

This Hotel is a short shuttle ride.to Airport aprox 5 minutes. The drivers are always ready 24/7. There pick ups at the Airport are amazing quick. They also have park and drive options if you stay the night before travel. Roger Bellman along with Branon, Lane and Ben have like most employees been there for years and years and they actually care in the most sincere ways as do the front desk staff. Mary,Judy,Tray,Audry. I am sure I missed someone. Had a chance to interact with the Eecutive Office, Sally. Fantastic Lady always with your concern to help you make every thing good.

Good & Convenient

By TravelSinceRetired |

This restaurant is in the Sheraton Portland Airport. We were staying at the Hampton Inn next door & walked over for dinner. Nice meal. My wife had the french onion soup which she said was fabulous. I had the club sandwich which was very good (& huge). Service was great -- bantered back & forth with our waiter as we are Seahawks fans & he was a 49er fan (boo). Nice meal & prices weren't too bad either.

Almost great

By Traveleggg |

Only food close to Hampton ..we had fish and chips .. If they had blotted off the oil it would have been the best ever $16.95 but subbed tater tots yuk coleslaw fantastic but only 3 oz .. No more .. 4 oz yucky tartar sauce instead .. Wine way over priced starting at $7 for a few oz

walking distance

By Bucky711 |

good food and service, overpriced but okay and walking distance from the crappy hampton who wont even answer the front desk phone for a wake up call

great Breakfast

By bob349 |

Breakfast was good in the restaurant that I am back for a evening meal. The lounge was disappointing for breakfast compared to the standard of Sheraton.

Convenient and Good

By Epic AAAdventures |

Out of convenience I ate here while staying at the Sheraton. I found the staff to be friendly and food to be good. Fried fish was good. Nachos were a healthy serving. Drinks were tasty. Lisa was great accommodating all of us every evening.

Excellent food and service

By amcord |

We stopped for a quick bite on the way to the airport and could not believe the excellent food and service we found. Thank you for a wonderful meal.

Personnal great

By twilliamsoncolo |

Food and service great. Only thing that made this stay enjoyable. Clean, good decors by outdated. Food was prepared nicely and exactly the way we requested.

Respectable food and service

By Chris S |

This restaurant is above average for an airport hotel for food and service. I have eaten here quite a few times over the years and haven't had a bad experience yet. The only problem is that it is undersized when convention is in the hotel as there are few nearby restaurants and convention goers end up filling the restaurant at meal breaks.

Rocky is a World Class bartender

By egustafs56 |

I've traveled all over the U.S. and spent more than my share of time in bars, and I can say unequivocally that Rocky is a top notch bartender. He's on top of things...he's friendly and entertaining. I'm a local, but I make it a point to head to the Sheraton every few weeks for an evening of drinking at Rocky's bar.

Hotel food can sometimes be just fine

By cowboyshooter |

Ok we were stuck at the Portand airport staying at the Hampton with no car. There was a Sheraton next door and we were stuck walking to a hotel to find food. Not my idea of fun. However, I have to say we were pleasantly surprised. I had the chicken marsala. Go figure this was actually decent -- maybe better than decent. My wife had a fish dish with risotto. It was very good. Our veggies were cooked perfectly. Ok, the food was a but pricey. $3.25 for a glass of tea. Mid $20s for the meals. But hey, it is a hotel. Most likely would not recommend this as a go to restaurant if you have a car and can access the dozens of other places nearby. But if you don't have that ability you won't be disappointed if you find yourself here.

Subdued & Quiet

By MrRodgers2011 |

We were guests in the Sheraton Hotel at the Portland Airport, and decided to dine in rather than drive to another place for dinner. They had a wine tasting offer going in the bar area. For $5 you got a 3 oz glass of red wine and another of white wine. 3 oz does little more than give you a taste, the glass cost was much more expensive. We ambled into the dining area and chose a booth. Staff provided warm sliced bread, both white and whole wheat. We ordered salads and the chicken Marsala, which we split. The pricing for the food is based on being enough that you won't get up and drive to any of the nearby restaurants, but high enough that you wonder if you are making a mistake. The service was one server for the entire restaurant so she was busy, but the service was only slightly slowed. The front desk for the restaurant did some busboy work to help out. The food was first quality in both preparation, portion size and taste. While we would not drive here for a meal, being a guest in the hotel made it worthwhile.

So So ….

Hotel Restaurant….captive audience….mediocre food! Limited menu….out of some things! Staff was ok…not overly attentive! No other places close to eat!!

Layover

By Vicki M |

My husband and I had a layover in Portland, on our way to Ixtapa from Seattle, and wanted to stay near the airport. We chose to eat at the Columbia Grill and Bar at the Sheraton, and were thrilled we did. We sat in the bar because we wanted to watch the Seattle Mariners on tv, and were pleasantly surprised with both the food and service! Rocky was our server and he was simply outstanding. He was knowledgeable and attentive, without being intrusive. His warm smile and friendly manner were engaging and we certainly enjoyed sitting at the bar, watching the game, visiting with Rocky. He was as good as any server we have had in all our travels. The fish and chips were first class. Excellent! Crisp and hot, they were among the best I have had. I have no idea how a Sheraton at the Portland airport scores a 5 stars on food and service, but they sure did! The only thing I would not have given a 5 star to, was the ordinary atmosphere. Our server, Rocky, mentioned that a remodel was in the immediate plan, so even that will be top notch in a short time! We would definitely stay here again and would sit at the bar hoping Rocky would be working!

Great food, nice price and Rocky bartender is awesome

By mmjb43 |

Rocky is very good bartender. I ordered a drink however left to use the restroom thinking "I hope he did not set my drink out on the bar before I return" and he didn't which was great!!!

Convenient Breakfast while staying at the Sheraton

By AnnaAZ |

The service was very prompt and pleasant, although the breakfast menu has a limited selection. Weekends do not offer the buffet option however timing was quick and the food was quite good. I enjoyed the breakfast scramble and hubby decided to try the hash; next trip was oatmeal and fruit. Decent food and great service considering expectations for an airport hotel. Convenient when staying at the hotel as we had breakfast twice there during our trip and had a positive experience each time.

Expensive for low quality food.

By RDREEDII |

Expensive for low quality food. My server was not very friendly. Maybe she was over worked. Would not be my first choice of were to eat if I had more time to go out.

A good dinner

By Yogaphile |

We were staying at the Hampton Inn next door and walked over to have an early dinner. The waitress could not have been more friendly, and the food was excellent. The gazpacho was just spicy enough, and the added mango was a nice touch. We shared a chicken marsala with crispy fresh veggies and a baked potato and it was ample for two. The sauce was wonderful and there were plenty of mushrooms. This restaurant has a varied menu, from sandwiches, to pizza to entrees and so should appeal to everyone at any time of day. An added bonus was the small discount given to Hampton Inn guests.

Down the Elevator From Our Room

By Ima G |

We stayed in the Sheraton Airport Hotel. Before our flight, we had a leisurely breakfast which was quite good. Upon our arrival after our trip, we had sandwiches for dinner. So glad we didn't have to have a full meal! We just weren't that hungry. We will return in September next year.

Very good place to dine

By Dave425 |

We went to the Columbia Grill expecting very high prices and so-so food due to them being the only place in the immediate area to eat. We were pleased to find out that the prices were OK, and the food was very good. The only issue was that the wait staff seemed to be stressed out. I'm not sure if that was because they were understaffed or busier than usual. At any rate, they did a good job anyway.

So-So

By Skootchover |

The restaurant is inside the Sheraton Hotel and there aren't really any other options without a drive. The food is average, but the local beer selection is good.

Have you tried the Tuna sandwhich?

By Bakamus |

Honestly awesome! You have to try it. The Cobb salad is fantastic as well. The best part really was the fabulous service we received from Rhonda. She was incredibly accomodating and upbeat. The experience was so great that I'm joining the Dining Club -- you can bet I'll return over and over again.

Walkable and surprisingly very well done

By Johnny-O_1964 |

I was a little skeptical looking at other reviews but our meal was very good. Smoked salmon salad was delicious and the roasted tomato flatbread was very good as well. Just a short walk thru the "Oregon sunshine" from the Hampton Inn next door. Would do this again without question. Very fresh full of flavor.

Disappointed

By Chris E |

The calamari was way overcooked & hard to eat, plus there was little of it for the price you paid. The other appetizer was a Spinach & Artichoke dip, served with a few slices of toasted baguettes and a whole bunch of soda crackers (yes, I said soda crackers). The other part of our meals were average. Very disappointed, usually Sheratons have decent restaurants. Felt like I got took here.

Casual Comfort at the Columbia

By davontheroad |

early evening--Saturday We were winding down a two week trip to the Oregon Coast, spending our pre-flight night right at the airport; we wanted a simple meal. The check-in lady at our next-door hotel had recommended the Columbia as good & a walk to venue. The entrance, lobby, & bar area are impressive in size with a warm décor. We were seated promptly in the dining area. The hostess gave us the dinner menu & turned us over to the wait staff. As we we were looking over the dinner menu, it occurred to us that while many of the offerings were appealing they were just more than we wanted for this meal-- we were considering leaving for the other recommended place. That would have involved calling for the shuttle. At just the right moment, I heard the father of large family at the table behind us order a pizza. I asked the waitress if there was an alternate menu--sure enough a "bar" menu was provided--our orders followed. Kobe burger--cooked medium with side of fries; it was good yet a bit bland--would have benefitted from browning. Mediterranean pizza: excellent & an especially good value; lots of cheese with the olive/feta topping a wonderful taste. We would eat here again; probably we should have made it clear we were looking for a casual menu from the get go--it worked out just fine. Our waitress was friendly & attentive. appe

Not impressed

By Dianna97370 |

I ordered the smoked salmon salad advertised as a signature dish. It had a lot of salmon but it was waterlogged and tasteless like the rest of the boring salad and bland dressing. The tomatoes were not ripe and the cucumbers seemed to have been previously frozen. The kalamata olive bread was good.

Breakfast Buffet is great!

By Lady_having_fun |

Hubby and I both had the breakfast buffet. He was having the usual hot items...eggs, bacon, sausages, hash browns and coffee. I was happy to see cottage cheese and lots of fruit on the buffet!

Salmon !!!

By DonnaSC |

It was my soldier's first "real meal" in six weeks and he was very happy. Huge portions. Very healthy fresh food. Nice selection. Prices are reasonable. Excellent service.

Quality food

By Sweetcakes23 |

I've eaten here several times, and never been disappointed. Great burgers/fries, breakfasts and they make a mean Bloody Mary!

Great food, and service

By Chicago555 |

Pizza, Fish and Chips, tater tots.. the wine was a little $$$$, but it is an airport hotel. Food as fast and hot.. Nice.

Always Outstanding!

By LindaC158 |

The food is superb. The place is clean, clean, clean! The service is top notch. Our usual servers are Lisa and Lori. They are outstanding servers who always make us feel welcome and special. We are members of the restaurant's Dining Club, and that makes the Columbia a very affordable treat for us. The Easter and Mother's Day brunches are special family events at and a great value.

staff was awesome

By danmcrory |

Rocky the bartender is laid back, friendly and pours a hell of a drink. Great bartender!!!! Highest recommendation.

Best Bacon in the world

By CFM |

See above e'nuff said!! Service was friendly and efficient. Pancake are to die for!! Did I tell you they have the best bacon in the world??

Nice dining in a relaxed atmosphere.

By smrgeog |

This Sheraton hotel is also blessed with a good onsite restaurant. The menu is varied and provides something for all tastes with a good wine list to complement their offerings. The portions are of fairly decent size so having a starter and main course is more than enough to satisfy yourself. The filet mignon was very well cooked, prepared and I was fairly impressed. The service is about what you expect for a casual restaurant. Value wise this does provide value for money and this is for something on the verge of being a find dining place. The only criticism I would have is that there is no clear entrance, so if you pick the wrong entry point, you could find yourself waiting a while before anyone sees you!

Overpriced Menu and Underwhelming Service

By Travelalot31310 |

I was staying next door at the Hampton Inn and because I had no car this was the closest place to have dinner. I walked over around 5:30 its a typical hotel bar/restaurant, nothing fancy. I was sat in the main dining room with the three other patrons who were there and the server was nice enough. I ordered a red wine (average quality but drinkable) and looked at the menu. I was surprised to see how expensive the menu was, all entrees were in the mid $20 range and as high as $38.00. I know that hotels get business travelers like me but we do have limits on what we can spend. I ordered a Cobb Salad for $13.75, it was tasty but small for the price and I had to look for the tomatoes and bacon! The server never stopped by my table to check, she walked by several times to chat with the other server in the empty dining room. Overall, I would say pass on this place unless you have no choice.

Very nice hotel restaurant

By axs666 |

A nice smaller restaurant off the Sheraton lobby. Modern with a nice ambiance. Breakfast food quality was excellent, both the bananas Foster French toast and eggs Benedict were delicious. Yes, it's a little pricey but that's to be expected considering the venue.

Weary vegetarian traveler finds an oasis

By Heather Joy H |

We called in the order while waiting for our baggage and the help on the phone was so kind, Considerate, thoughtful and thorough. He got our order just right. Then the waitress called us back to make sure of our special needs order. Not only was the service stupendous-off the charts-But, when the food came it was as tasty as the people were kind. I recommend this place for locals as well as us weary travelers.

Good food, great service

By Carl L |

We hit the Columbia late one night just before closing time. Even though it was late, the waitress was extremely friendly and welcoming. The food was good, though the steak was overdone. Regular prices were fairly stiff, as at most hotels. Fortunately we had a discount card.

NAME CHANGE Rose and Compass

By Ghostrider5408 |

Over the years there has always been good service and food from here with their specials always a good choice. Now they have remodeled the entire lobby area and changed the name. Still good service however food / variety has slipped a bit. They use to always have a great pasta dish now gone. Most of the food offerings are on the fried or heavy side howler not too bad. Service is good.

2 More Great Meals

By Herdlinger |

I have enjoyed breakfast here so much that I thought I would also give their lunch a try. I was not disappointed. The Kobe burger and fries was perfectly prepared and delicious through the final bite. Drew, my server behind the bar, provided flawless service and great conversation. Breakfast the next morning was off the charts! The omelet was delicious and plentiful and the potatoes were real shredded potatoes. Oh, and the strawberry freezer jam on the sourdough toast is addictive. Rose, the morning chef, takes such care and pride with the food and is is always well displayed on the plate. I'll be back in October for a repeat performance!

Really good food

By hernse1 |

We were staying at another hotel nearby, but decided we wanted to have a nicer meal than was offered near the place we were staying at. This place was really good. I loved the variety of vegetables that came with my salmon dish. Sometimes you get one, maybe 2 veggies, but this dish was accompanied by mix of at least 7 veggies with flavorful seasoning. My husband 's chicken dish came with a very tasty sauce, as did my daughter's noodle dish. It's too bad that the kid's menu didn't offer more interesting fare than the usual chicken tenders/cheese sandwich, but we shared our main dishes with our youngest. The server was a very attentive and friendly lady. I would stop here again if I'm in the area.

It's ok

By Gordon B |

Good service. Clean. Not very classy. Food is average.
