Recently had dinner at this downtown restaurant. Food was as described with no issues with any of our group of 6. The waiter was friendly and attentive and had a good knowledge of the local wines which we sampled. Overall a positive experience.

We ate dinner at this restaurant on our recent trip to Seattle . The decor was beautiful, the service was great however the food was mediocre. The prices were higher but we didnt mind as expected the food to meet our expectations . We were left disappointed as the wagu burger was rather plain and the chicken sandwiches were on the under done side . There are better places available if you look around.

The menu is unexpected and well worth mulling before making a selection. The waitstaff are knowledgeable about the menu and happy to offer suggestions, ask respectful questions, and go at your pace. Each course is described as it is set before you. The hostess was incredibly attentive and kindly came by my table to ask about my meal. I look forward to visiting this team again.

Very excited to come to this restaurant. The executive chef has great accolades. Food was very good! Portion sizes were great. Our service was not great. The waiter was very nice but extremely slow.

Great breakfast option downtown. Granola, Porridge, Yummy Toast and Egg dishes. Friendly and attentive staff in a nice setting.

We’ve been to this place getting divine lattes by Mika several times when visiting this elegant place close to Pike Street Market. (Thompson Hotel) We sit at the bar and watch her and the others bust their tails (professionally with little apparent effort) to give great service to a pretty robust crowd. The super-friendly staff took us under their collective wing, almost immediately. They treat us like family, choose breakfast entrees which are superb. This is really unusual in our experience with busy high-end restaurants. (Although prices here are very reasonable). I’ve just got to mention a few of these sweet people...who, among others, include Miwa, Lex, Eduardo, Doug, Roberto and Lex. I loved trading golf stories with Larry, the manager (I think) These are class-act, fun, friendly professionals whom we are proud to know. An A+

I grabbed breakfast here while staying at the Thompson. There was no wait so that was a big plus. I got the eggs benedict. Everything was fresh and well made, it was just bland. This is a great option if you don't want to wait in line for brunch. Also a great option for solo travelers - they have some great "bar-style" seats near the windows.

Our food was amazing, the service was excellent, and the staff were all solicitous and friendly. My partner had the surf and turf, and it was cooked to perfection. My mushroom flatbread was delicious. We shared the apple cinnamon donut dessert, and it was marvelous. This restaurant is a gem!

This quaint restaurant inside the Thomson Hotel had the most amazing breakfast. From the steel cut oats with syrup and berries to the waffle and egg breakfast- everything was perfect. Make sure you try the smoked salmon side.

These 3 words (unique, flavorful & complex) describe my experience of the individual dishes I enjoyed last evening at the Conversation Restaurant from the flattened & fried trout to the seared scallops, mushroom salad, porchetta salad, minty green salad. The restaurant easily accommodated a group of 20 from a business conference on one long table. Highly-recommend this memorable food experience.

Trying a hotel restaurant often can be disappointing. NOT in this case, though! The atmosphere, service, and food and drinks were all top notch! An extremely knowledgeable staff ( led by our server Rodney ) delightfully guided us through a well-crafted, thoughtful menu showcasing the Chef’s talented, unique perspective. Our sommelier ( John ) provided the perfect bottle of wine for our palettes and the food...based on an interactive, fun conversation about wine. This well-executed combination of great, personal service and fantastic, creative food definitely ranks as one of our all-time favorites!

Wow! The team at Conversation was incredibly accommodating as my early-birthday dinner party swelled from a celebration for 6 people to 22 people! The staff could not have been more gracious, friendly, or hard-working. They conducted themselves like true hospitality professionals, making my friends and colleagues and me feel special. The delicious creative food and comfortable sophisticated decor matched the grace and expertise of the staff. And the desserts! The "forest floor" chocolate cake with ice cream and candied walnuts was beautifully presented as a deconstructed tableau of a wooded landscape, the "London fog" dessert involved Earl Grey and cotton candy in a smoky swirl, and the ginger cake had a streusel-like topping that was simply exquisite. Thank you, Team Conversation, for making my one-month-early birthday party an unforgettable experience!

a nice place- evidently connected to the Thompson Hotel. Nice breakfast menu, creative, very attentive service and pleasant inside. Very near the Pike market which is why we left to find a nice place to eat!!

My wife and I dined here at the recommendation of our son who knew the general manager. From the greeting when we walked in and through the entire meal we received friendly, professional, and helpful service. The menu selection was varied and featured local and regional ingredients in their American and seafood cuisine. The wine list contained a good selection of interesting wines. The food was beautifully plated and delicious. One caution is that you need to save room for dessert. Their dessert menu is intriguing, making a decision on one thing difficult. Spoiler alert, we had a few and they were delicious! The setting is comfortable and the noise level moderate making it fairly easy to converse, which is what the name of the restaurant is all about. We would return in a heartbeat the next time we visit Seattle.

Had breakfast here while staying at Thompson Hotel on Seattle. Service was first class and quick . Menu seems to change slightly each day but was slightly limited . Overall good food and coffee with excellent service.

We were staying at the hotel but it is a great spot for breakfast or brunch even if you are not staying at the hotel.

The service was horrible. Unfortunately, so was the food. Kept wondering why there was hardly anyone eating dinner. I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant. Food was average at best and service horrible. 20% added on to a 4 top is insulting, but more so, that the staff didn't give a hoot. I've been to pubs in London were the staff was amazing. They did it because they knew it was the right thing to do. Very disappointing all around.

We tried this restaurant as it was conveniently located in our hotel. Tried the breakfast & a dinner on different days which worked out well. Atmosphere was good while the staff members ensured we had everything for an enjoyable dining experience.

Went for breakfast on a Friday morning with my husband. Service was great but food was ok. I had the salmon eggs Benedict and hubby at the regular eggs Benedict. Both are one of my favorite things to eat and they were just ok. Expensive for what we got. Also just a heads up, they add a 20% service charge to the meal automatically. We always tip 20% but it could be easily missed.

In a city full of fantastic restaurants, we chose Conversation, the Seattle restaurant in Thompson Hotel, on the corner of Stewart and 1st Ave, a block from Pike Place Market. The tasteful dining room with high ceilings and spaced seating, has a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Our server, Martha, was attentive, with friendly professional service, perfect for our after-the-football-win-dinner. Initially, we thought we would stop for a happy hour glass of wine and a snack, but were enjoying the relaxed vibe, and ended up staying for dinner. Our meals were fantastic, perfectly prepared and artfully presented. Loved the stacked Beet and Goat cheese with chili oil drizzle. My scallops were perfectly seared and served over risotto. My husband had the steak, cooked to perfection, sliced on the plate with an assortment of grilled artichokes, baby broccoli, and boulangère potatoes. Kudos to the team that served us, from the kitchen, the manager and Martha. We will return...again...and again....and again...Looking forward to our next visit. Thank you!

Warm welcome and seated immediately. Nice choice on the menu, pricing is fair. Great place to watch the world go by. Excellent food coffee and juice - recommend

We came upon this restaurant on the Sunday night we arrived in Seattle. There were not many places open. As we were about to head back to the hotel we saw Conversation and decided to try it. We chose a a porchetta dish, some steak and a green salad. All were delightful. Of course we had a wine which finished off the day of travel. We had every intention of going back but unfortunately we couldn't make it. I would highly recommend this restaurant as we both found the staff very friendly and the food amazing

I told the server, “it’s a sin to eat a piece of art” and I standby my statement. The avocado salad was an absolute art, with all the possible herbs that formed a tower on the pieces of avocado and with pine bites and sunflower seeds sprinkled, it looked awesome. My wife ordered a trout and that was a huge one which we later on shared. Sumptuous as it gets and tasted like the best dish in the world.

We arrived in Seattle for our visit and I wanted a nice meal and found Conversations just by waking by. What a fabulous meal! We walked in during happy hour and each ordered two drinks - plus shared the red lentil Vegetarian dish which was so delightful and rich with flavors. We shared the trout which was plenty for two people and once again delighted our taste buds. Our waiter Eduardo was wonderful and our meal including tip was just under $100! What a fabulous dinner just what I was looking for.

We had breakfast twice there since we enjoyed it the first time. The food was well prepared, good quality, and tasty. The service was quite good, and the staff friendly. We found it a comfortable place to eat and would defintely go there again.
Stopped in for coffee
Just had coffee between meals services while staying at the hotel. The staff were very kind and gave awesome service inspite of trying to turn the dining room for dinner service to start.
