Fun on a warm Summer day to sit above the market.

Great place to eat and the service was good but the food was not. Oil drenched on everything and a lot was tasteless. Disappointing unfortunately - especially for the price!

The choices of places to eat in Pikes Place is staggering. We stumbled across this delightful second floor restaurant by happy accident. The food was well prepared and the spicing delightful. The meat was all melt in your mouth. The staff was friendly.

This place was chosen for the ability to eat outside and escape the crowds by sitting upstairs looking down at the chaos below. Service was fine. The food is like college cafeteria food. Sad looking salads we did not eat. Rice and chicken dishes came quickly so not made to order. The taste was not unpleasant. Would not return.

Meal average with very little flavor. We had lunch Lomo Saltado and Chicken and also Paella which the rice was overcook. The Pisco Sour drink not near what should be.

This little cafe is situated above the street next to the Pike Place Market. You can reach it via a set of spiral stairs. Besides the great fresh food choices, you can sit at a table on the balcony, listen to the street performers and watch the crowds go by. We loved it and found the service, speedy and very friendly. We still remember the delicious food.

The only positive aspect of this restaurant is the location and view. In the low season, wanting to sit on the beautiful balcony and watch the comings and goings of the Market - this would be a good place, but not for a meal! This food is bland, over cooked or poorly presented. The salads had wilted lettuce and virtually no dressing. The shredded chicken was dry, tasteless and has been off the rotisserie for days. The pork was also dry and tasteless - big chunks covered with a supposed “cumin sauce” that was actually dried on the meat. The rice and hominy were both dry and tasteless. All 5 of us left most of our meals on our plates and we left hungry and in search of a better place. Bolivian food is much more tasty and interesting than what was served here. Walk over to 1st St and head South - many real good places to eat and remember Seattle - and Bolivia - by.

Decent South American food

Stay away from the poor quality and overpriced food here. You'll wait forever for frozen bland fish and a salad that would leave even a premature rabbit hungry. Its one asset is the narrow dining balcony overlooking Pikes Market..that is what drew us in. Our mistake was to do more than drink there.

Gorgeous view and definitely perfect people watching vantage. We were very disappointed in the food. I had chicken salad with chicken that looked and tasted like it was canned. Husband had steak sandwich that was very tough. Service was good. Don't plan on a good meal here and enjoy the view!

We found this on our last trip to Seattle four years ago and went back this time. It doesn't stand out as the main entrance in difficult to find, but it celebrated 50 years in business this year, so it's worth hunting out for and climbing the stairs. We were both times happy with the selection of the food, and having been to Bolivia, it was a great find for us. We had a very tasty, spicy soup and a great chicken dish. One of the things we enjoy is that they make pisco sours, the national drink of Peru, next door to Peru, so common in the countries around there, but difficult to find on drink menus here. You cannot beat the view, directly across from Pikes Place and out to the Sound and the mountains of the Olympic Peninsula.

Great lunch - try to sit On the deck for a great view of the market and the Puget Sound.

Simple but tasty. Our outdoor table overlooked the Pike Place Market on a pleasant early evening. We enjoyed the food and cold beer.

In the busy Pike Place Market this is a welcome peaceful place above the stalls. Good food, good service and outdoor seating with a birds eye view of the market.

Service was pleasant (I'm not sure she understood English) but poor and the food even worse. The salad was lacking at every level... I can't actually believe this place is in business but for being on Pike St....a captive audience until they try the place...my guess is no return business.... Pike place is a fantastic place and deserves a much better restaurant than Copa.

Good Bolivian food on a balcony overlooking the always entertaining comings and goings of the Pike Place market and the water beyond. Be a part of it all while you remain "above the fray". My friend and I escaped the frenzy and fish throwing in search of a late lunch and literally stumbled to the stairway leading to the Copacabana restaurant. What a find!

Great views, wondetful food and great service. A must place to catch your breath aftet touring the farmers market We shared a paella and their camarones soupa - loved it.

Christmas Eve lunch with a large group (10). Sadly on this day they were sold out of Halibut, but the shrimp salad was tasty and fresh with a nice tart vinagrette and beautiful ripe avocado. The paella was also a favourite among the group. Service was prompt, friendly and efficient. View from this quaint second floor restaurant across from the market is great. Could stay here all day and just watch the hustle and bustle of market goers. Prices are reasonable, food and service is good. Would recommend.

We have been to this restaurant before, and we were satisfied with the quality of the food previously. This time it seems they had a new cook, and the Peruvian food we ordered was not only tasteless, but it seems it was put together in a hurry. For the price we paid, we think it was way below expectations. We do not think we will visit this Restaurant again anytime soon. I would not recommended to anyone.

We have coming here for years for the Piea (sp?). I gave it a four star rather than a five for two reasons; It lacked the saffron like the old dish and they no longer put in chunks of sausage and chicken wings like the old dish. They say and rightly so that the dish can be made faster this way and that they can serve the burgeoning crowds of folks from the Cruise lines.

I stopped at the Copacabana restaurant to rest my feet and enjoy a cocktail after a walking tour. I sat on the 2nd level outside deck overlooking the market, sipped a tasty and refreshing Mojito, and enjoyed watching the market. This is a great spot for a break. I didn't try the food, so I can't comment on it.

Good pork dish with unusual white beans. Their version of Empanada Took over 30 minutes. Everyone else was served and ate by the time it arrived. Evidently they ran out of them and had to make them, but they didn’t communicate this. One person basically watched us eat and it was uncomfortable for everyone. We shared our food happily but they should’ve offered him another option and at least given us the choice whether to wait or order something different This place has been around a long time and we mainly go here to enjoy the views and get rest for our feet. The sangria was decent. The server was nice but botched the communication. Slow to check on us. Was during off hours so not too busy ...dial up service next time.. would be 3 star but gets the bump due to view and being able to sit outside under the umbrellas but above the bustle of the market

We sat on the balcony overlooking the Pikes Place Market. The setting was beautiful and the place was adorned with gorgeous flowers. The menu was great. I truly wanted to try one of everything but settled on a delicious entree and ceviche. as an appetizer. It was fresh and delectable. If you haven't tried ceviche, you're missing out. We just happened to be in Seattle on a gorgeous sunny day and that definitely added to the experience.

This is an easy place to overlook - and a great place for people watching. Copacabana was a much better option for us than the crowded Pike Place Market, where the waiting times for tables were awful. The trick is to look up, across the street, and then take the easy stair climb up to the patio. We were there after 2 p.m. on a Saturday and got seated immediately. There are also tables inside when it gets busy. The food is simple and delicious. We shared one big salad and a couple of margaritas. Service was efficient but not rushed. What a relief! Bolivian slant on a generally latino menu.

Service was excellent and food was even better. Had Paella which included mussels, shrimp and sausage and was tangy, yet retained the tastes of the individual ingredients. Great find!! Highly recommend

The pricing is ave as you are looking about 11-15 US for an entree However the service definitely need some improvement The waitress was slow and reluctant to serve us during our lunch visit <Maybe it's becoz we didn't sit ourselves at patio that our two tables were the only ones inside the restaurant at that time> And not only the waitress was slow and try to move away from asking us if we need anything, she also not geting the order correctly! The worst thing is that when the appetizer never come and we all finished our entree and about to get the bill and cancel the appetizer, the waitress simply told us that we can't cancel the apetizer becoz it's already been made <it's just a piece of a large cheese pie that the restaurant would need to do is to cut it out from a baking plate> I totally can't believe why did the waitress insists that it's been "made". It was already made to any customers would order the same appetizer okay?! Other than that, the food doesn't really deserve the price they put up in the menu. <It doesn't taste bad or anything. It's that the price should be less as it's not that speical nor tasty> The only good thing about this place is that you get to sit at patio and looking at Pike Market and the crowded street. Overall, go somewhere else (e.g. Cheesecake factory not far away from Pike Market and this restaurant) if you want your food matching the menu pricing.

This restaurant was about to close when we turned up and to their credit they did serve us which was kind. The food was average but there's plenty of it and it wasn't too expensive. Probably a good lunch spot as it overlooks Pike Market, but rather quiet in the evening.

Loved the idea of being above the market. The menu was sparse and simple. We both had a salad which was very simple. Thank goodness for the bread and great iced tea. Other than that probably would not return.

This is a good spot to sit on the balcony and watch the crowds go by at the Pikes Market. Nothing fancy; you order and pay inside and they bring it to you. Good salads!

We chose this place for lunch after giving up on trying to figure out the system at Lowell's - a very confusing place for ordering and finding a seat. We shared a paella and a potato dish and a carafe of red wine. Not the best paella we have ever tasted but fine, and a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by. We had very good service from a rather spacey waitress but she was very nice.

Hit this place by myself whilst exploring downtown Seattle one night between meetings. Set up behind Pike Place Markets with a slightly obstructed, but excellent nonetheless, view of Puget Sound at sunset, the service is what made my experience so good. The food is unbelievably good and really quick to come out as well and price-wise, it was also excellent value.

Lovey spot near the market. Good food and service. Can just see above and over the market to some nice views

After a couple of trips already to Seattle, we were ready to branch out and eat somewhere new at Pike Place. We were intrigued with the both the menu and, as other have stated, the wonderful view. When we were seated though, it took an incredibly long time for our server, very hard to understand, to bring our beverages. As a health nut, I constantly make simple substitutions, and asked for the dressing to be on the side of my salad. I was disappointed when it arrived to find it drenched in oil and vinegar. I ate it anyhow, as we were very hungry and leaving soon. It was not the worst salad, but it was for sure not worth the price. The greens were fresh and the avocado tasty, but the shrimp for my salad, and chicken for the other member of my family were obviously from a can, most likely Costco, as it was very easily recognized. In the end, it was a salad worth about $3, drenched in oil and vinegar that I wanted on the side in the first place. When the check arrived, it was apparent the request to have the dressing on the side was written down, but blatantly ignored by the cook, as well as the request to split the bill between two people. After everything was said and done, I left feeling full, yet somewhat unsatisfied with the food and the amount of un needed oil I had consumed and will for sure seek out other places to eat in the future. In closing, this restaurant has great potential, especially with the view, but the current food they serve, with the service, won't cut it, and I can say I will unfortunately not return.

Having disembarked from our cruise ship this morning and spending the day in Seattle before flying back to the east coast, our party of 6, seeking some decompression time, took a brief afternoon visit to the Pike Peak Market area. Amidst the chaos and crowds we found the Copacabana Cafe. We decided it suited our needs better than eating among masses of hustling people with children in tow, all reaching over and around you in an attempt to "soak in the local atmosphere." We climbed the outside steps to the outdoor deck. Our party had to be seated inside because of our number. We were led to a window seat and drinks were soon served. They have a good selection of upper-end beers and wines. The hot and spicy shrimp soup lived up to its name. It was tasty, spicey, and served piping hot. That alone is worth points in my book. We had the Mariscos salad. Flank steak salad, and the mussels & clams entree. All were delicious. The service was a bit slow, but pleasant and complete. Again, extra points were earned when our waitress remembered without prompting to bring my wife a side glass of ice with her wine, a request which most waitstaff need to be reminded. Our meal was leisurely and delicious. We left with a good overall feeling that we wouldn't have received in the crazy hustle below. When I returned to my hotel and read the reviews for the Copacabana Cafe, I had to voice my dissenting opinion. It was a most enjoyable experience.

Stopped in for lunch after a couple hours in the Market. Beautiful view from the outdoor balcony. Wonderful food and drink. You can enjoy overlooking this great area of Seattle and have a wonderful dish as well. Don’t miss it on your visit.

We have been to Pike Market 100 times and have never noticed this little cafe on the second floor of the market area across from the main market building. From the minute we walked up the iron railing steps, the waitstaff was accomodating, opening the door to great us when we were still about 20 feet away. We sat outside, even though it was about 50 degrees and still damp from the morning fog. Our waitperson (don't remember her name) was more than happy to have us sit outside, even though the rest of her tables must have been inside, since we were the only crazy ones sitting outside. We arrive about 11:30am on a Sunday, and ordered the Paella, even though we were told it was about a 20 minute wait (it wasn't ready yet for the day.) We were constantly filled with coffee, water and good bread and spent a relaxing time in the fresh air shaking off the cobwebs from the wine at Brooklyn (not such a great experience there - the service, not the wine) the night before. It was really fun to be "all alone" up on the balcony amid the hustle and bustle of Pike Market one floor below - quite entertaining. The Paella was good, and decent priced, but the setting and service was what really shined.

Copacabana Cafe has an excellent location overlooking the Public Market so it needs nothing else. There is constant pedestrian traffic. The menu is Bolivian and incredibly limited. My friend's dish of lomito was good according to him, my shrimp soup below average with canned tiny little shrimp ... right across the street from phenomenal fresh seafood market! Okay, Bolivia is landlocked so do not offer any seafood or change your menu. It was difficult to find anything to order and drinks are limited as well. All with subpar service! Too many choices in this part of Seattle... definitely go elsewhere.

We've walked past Copacabana literally countless times, and in the summer the outdoor deck is always packed - how could it not be, overlooking Pike Place Market, Puget Sound and everything that the area has to offer. The only thing you won't see from your seat is a really good meal. Copacabana bills itself as "Bolivian" in its cuisine; if this is representative of Bolivia's fare, I'll skip the country and go elsewhere. Again, nothing truly bad, just very, very blah. I had the steak tips "in a spicy sauce with onions, peppers, etc..." and my wife had similar, but with lamb. The only thing spicy about either meal was the black pepper from the shaker that we put on ourselves. The peppers and onions were overcooked to the point of mushiness and the rice was similarly overcooked. We didn't have time to send anything back or ask for a substitution, but if they could mess up two dishes like that at the same time, I don't think I'd want to try anything else the kitchen produced. If you are in the Market area and looking for something tasty, try one of the numerous smaller walk-away cafes/food stands.

Enjoyed lunch at the Copacabana Café on a Sunday afternoon. The Café is on the 2nd floor overlooking Pike's market. Has a wonderful covered balcony where had lunch -- table for 2. The chef's specials are amazing. Delicious, unusual, healthy. Will definitely be back! Thank you!

Service was good, location great, food lacked flavor. Had paella, soup, pollo, and beef, all were average at best. Portions were generous. Sangria was good.

We had lunch here. We chose mostly vegetarian, but lots of meat on the menu as well. Full of flavour. Friendly service, good value. On the second floor, patio has a view on the Market and Puget Sound.

2nd floor restaurant at Pike Place features Spanish/Bolivian cuisine. Order at the register inside, then take a table. All tables show reserved however these are for diners who’ve ordered food. Great views outside, overlooking Pike Place Market. Great food and drinks.

Terrible food! Good service! I can not believe that people can like this junk food! We ordered a Paella so badly prepared that could shame a spanish!!! The worst restaurante that I have eaten in USA ever!

Get the paella, its great. The rest of the menu is ok but not great though the paella is some of the best I've had. Its a little different from the typical Spanish paella but has more meats. The view outside is great on a good day, and you're right outside Pike Place market so you can people watch too. The place is somewhat deserted at lunch (or I went on a bad day) but it was definitely worth it. You might have a worse experience if you ordered something else, sat inside or had bad weather. The lunch special is also phenomenal value for money.

On a sunny day, this is a great little place to eat outside with a view of the Pike Place Market. The food was fine...my salad would have been better with something other than iceberg lettuce. But, our wine was pleasant and the staff was friendly.

We sat on the balcony overlooking Seattle’s Pike Market and had a wonderful meal. Plenty of options for the two vegetarians in our family. The service was friendly and good as were the salads we ate.

Very good paella. Nice to sit on the deck overlooking the market on a warm sunny day. The meat pie and the corn pie appetizers were excellent.

So hoped this would be a tasty, interesting meal... but....The beef salteña (similar to an empanada) was bland, also small and almost empty inside. The shrimp soup was bland too- carrots, peas and potatoes tasted and looked as if they’d come from a can. Soup came with two small pieces of stale bread. Unfortunately, the butter was the tastiest part of the meal.

The view is Pike Place Market goers, the snow capped mountains and a body of water. Its above the street so you can stare without being noticed. Pike Place is a huge tourist attraction as well as for locals to get fresh foods. All walks of life go up and down this street. Super cool scene from their outside seating. I was not overly impressed with their grub. It had tons of flavor, but for the price I would of thought I would of had more on my plate. I forgot the name of the dish, but it was a salad with bean salad and rice. My husband had shrimp soup. My portions were small. My dish should not of cost 12 bucks with small portions. Beans, lettuce and white rice... All very inexpensive food. I realize the area drives up prices on food but what if I were a local. I would want a bigger bang for my buck. My husband's soup was standard size bowl. The large option on the menu. He also said it has good taste, broth and seasoning. The shrimps were the smallest ever, smaller than pop corn and they were frozen from Alaska. My husband asked the origin. If you want to get away from the crowd of Pike to eat this is a good place to do so and still have a view. I cannot say I will return here. There are so many restaurants there.

Had a nice stay on the terrace on a beautiful afternoon. However the food was just okay. Nothing to go wow about. We ordered mussels and ceviche for starters and stopped there when we found them to be just okay. We ordered one of the five red wines on their list to find that the only one they had was the house brand and once again it was just okay. So if it is a nice day and you want to watch the Pike St crowds roll by and enjoy the view, go. If you are looking for great food. Go somewhere else.

a Bolivian restaurant located on the upper deck over the street. Been there 50 years but still good. I had the Estofado (beef, rice, some carrots/peas) and my companion had the Paella. Both of us liked our meals, with no room for desert! would definitely go back again.

My wife ordered the black bean soup with cheese and pork. The soup was utterly tasteless and the cheese nowhere to be found. The pork pieces (all three) were nothing but fat and gristle. When my wife complained the waitress comped the meal. My dish of rice and beef, purportedly with "Bolivian spices", corn, carrots and peas had no hint of any spice whatsoever. There were about 10 kernels of corn, and equal number of peas and bits of carrot. The rice was OK. The meat was dried out. Only the accompanying salad was fresh. I should have complained too and only paid for the iced tea. Not about to go back to this place...ever. How it stayed in business for 50 yrs is beyond me.

Bolivian restaurant in Seattle. This was a little different from the regular Pikes Market restaurants. The service was good and the food excellent. Quaint upstairs restaurant. I had the paella and it was great. Definitely recommended for something a little different.

We want there for the view - after passing by a number of times we thought having a good view of the market would be an ideal for stooping by for food and drink. It was hugely disappointing. The salad was very bland with small shred of chicken over a bed of lettuce doused in a vinegarette . My companion order a hot chicken dish it came well after we had eaten our salads and the chicken was " Rubbery" and food was cold . The view does not outweigh the poor food quality .

The Copacabana Cafe is located in the Pike Place Market, and consists of a long balcony above the bustle of the market street. There are a limited number of inside tables, but the ones on the balcony are worth the wait. The drinks and appetizers are great and it is a people-watchers delight. A great place for a mid afternoon break!

Very good! Food, location, ambience etc is great. Service could be better but is understandable considering the aforementioned. Will continue to return.

Perfectly placed across the street from Pike Street Market, this upstairs gem is great for a break from the action of the market. The sangria is fabulous. We also had some ceviche to snack on which was prepared to perfection. The service is outstanding, just enough attention to keep you satisfied but not intrusive. I definitely recommend this place for a cocktail and or a meal while at the market.

Prime location at Pike Place Market! Enjoyed a few drinks on their patio! Super nice staff. Their food looked delicious- will have to go back for food.

Expensive for a salad where the shrimps are very probably out of a tin and the dressing is sharing the bottom of the plate with water coming from the green salad.

This restaurant has delicious, flavorful south American food. We happened upon it and are glad we did. The service was friendly and quick. The paella was absolutely delicious. Sitting outside on the patio overlooking Pike's Market made for a great view. Next time we are in Seattle, we will definitely eat here again

This restaurant has a great atmosphere as it sits above Pikes Market and you can look down and people watch while you eat. The Bolivian food was very good. I had a nice salad with shredded beef and my husband chicken with vegetables was very good. We chose this place because Pikes market was so crowded and this got us out of the crowd for a little bit. The service was also very good.

Sitting on the balcony above Pike’s Place Market while we enjoy the flavors of South America as the sun sets. The water and mountains fade as the Pike’s Market becomes more vibrant in the sky. Well worth a stop when you are in the area. Love balcony seating.

I stopped by here on a very sunny and warm afternoon. The location in Pike Place is excellent. It is on upper level and the terrace seating provides a great spot for people watching. Lunch was nothing special, but good and fresh.

This is a nice Bolivian restaurant, you have to climb a small flight of stairs, and they have a patio and inside seating. Since it was a nice day, we sat on the patio upstairs, and you can dine there overlooking the bustling Pike Market across and below. Food was savory and tasty. Prices were reasonable also.

the restaurant is located on the 2nd floor right across from the market.we ordered 2 beef dishes. both were overcooked and very dry. service was OK, but just OK. we sat on the balcony facing the market, and it was the only highlight of the lunch. it is OK to serve authentic food but a restaurant should be able to make a better dish than just authentic. after all where is the Bolivian pride?

Great view of Pike’s Market upstairs on their balcony. A few vegetarian options. Friendly and helpful waitstaff. We ordered the potato dish with peanut sauce and the beans, rice and salad. The cornbread with cheese is excellent.

Up a spiral staircase overlooking parts of the market. A lovely balcony area. The staff were very friendly. Good menu selection but didn't have the dish my husband wanted. Food was good and so was the service.

Went to visit Copacabana on a rainy winter day. Very different from a mid-summer tourist weekend when the deck is packed! Ordered a soup and an avocado salad. The soup was very tasty - homemade with a light broth and the salad came dressed with a subtle vinaigrette. It had been years since I had visited the restaurant. The interior is now fresh, warm and clean with sweet hand embroidered tablecloths under glass-topped tables.

Best location on the second floor above Public Market - at Pike st. 2 ways to enter- Black iron steps up at the end of the building or their door in the alley. (See my pics) Amazing hidden gem- family owned for over 50 years, with wonderful food- salads with chicken, pork or beef and the mojitos?!! Best in town! Chola salad is very good- shredded chicken comes cold on it- I had it this way one day and then asked for it warm the next day. Great either way! A good idea for kids- chicken and rice plate The staff hustles and are all so nice- Sara was amazing taking such great care of us each night. Finish it off w a cup of their coffee- its to die for!

Climb the stairs to a casual but charming outdoor row of umbrella-covered tables for a getaway lunch a floor above the busting Market Place street, where friendly staff of this family owned cafe;serve authentic South American cuisine. Best sangria I've ever had. Ceviche, soups, salads and many other yummie menu items sure to please!

Came here to have drinks on the terrace and sit in the sun but were basically ignored even after getting up and directly asking if we could order. We tried to be patient but it wasn't even busy. After the second attempt at getting up to ask for service we decided to give up. We were received with shrugged shoulders as if they couldn't care less. If you're hungry or thirsty then maybe go somewhere else!

Looks down on Pike Street - serves Nolivian food. Camarones Soup a little disappointing. Black bean soup excellent. Definitely try the Huminta (soufflé corn bread with cheese). Two people soup and huminta and drink each- with tip- $50

Spanish restaurant with balcony overlooking Pike Place Market, good variety on menu. Great place to have a meal and glass of wine and watch the hustle and bustle of the market place below.

We ate at Copacabana Cafe on a sunny weekend in April 2012. We were seated on the outdoor patio, where they have a lot of tables that are very close to each other, making it difficult to get in or out of your seat. It was a nice day so we decided to stay, despite the tight quarters. We had the worst service I've had at a restaurant in recent memory. We were seated quickly but the waitresses did not take a drink order for at least 15 minutes. She delivered food to our table that was another table's food, putting it in front of us then taking it away. Once she finally took our order, it took at least a half hour to get our food. We watched the same thing happen to the table next to us. They arrived about 10 minutes after us and had to finally go inside to look for the waitress to place a drink order. She also delivered the wrong food to their table. Once we got our food, it appeared to have been sitting under a warmer for a while - the sauce on the potatoes one person ordered had darkened and hardened somewhat. I would suggest that you look around for other restaurants with open patio seating if you come to Pike Place Market.

Very bland food that is expensive for what you get. The waitress did not have much of a personality. There are many good restaurants at Pike Place but this isn't one of them.

Was walking around Pikes Market, looking for some lunch. Spotted this little place on the 2nd floor. Went upstairs. AMAZING food. Cute little place. Have anything on the menu and you will love the flavor. Its a must place to eat !

Went there last week while in Seattle and was just looking for a sit down place for a drink or two and came across Copacabana cafe. My experience was disappointing. Took the waitress approx. 15min to even recognize my wife and I, another 5min to take our order. Took approx. 10min to get our drinks and another 15min to get our check once we said we are ready for the check. Cannot recommend this place at all unless you have a lot of time

My husband and I enjoyed a late lunch here on our recent trip to Seattle. The weather was gorgeous, sunny, cool, breezy and we were looking for a place with outdoor seating to take advantage of the ideal weather. This place had an upper level patio area, directly overlooking the Pikes Place Market, making an ideal outdoor dining experience, above the street and great for people watching. We both had soup and sandwich combos, my husband had a chicken salad sandwich and a creamy seafood chowder I had a a spicy pork sandwich with tomato based seafood soup. All of the food I would say was good, not great, but the meal was inexpensive and quick, and the friendly service and outdoor dining experience more than made up for our food being just ok. Overall, I would recommend giving this place a try, especially if you can enjoy the outdoor dining space.

We were celebrating our 38th anniversary by walking about Seattle and we ended up at Pike Place Market at dinner time. We noticed the Copacabana with a nice view overlooking the market and decided that would be a good place to try. It was Bolivian food. The waitress was nice enough but never came to our table unless we beckoned her. The food was mostly bland, overcooked and over priced ($77 for the two of us sharing one meal, and having 2 drinks and an appetizer). We have a tradition of tipping the # of years we were married so $38 was the tip. Usually the wait person will have a reaction and then we share why the amount and then they say "happy anniversary" etc. and are thankful. This one, nothing, but the normal canned "thank you". A bit disappointing but my husband didn't want to "curse it" by not keeping up the tradition!

There are lots of place to eat near the market but my family often ends up here. We have never had bad service and always enjoyed the food. It's unique and tasty. The atmosphere is family-like. It's small and the service has been quick and friendly. I love the soup and chicken dishes. A wonderful place to stop and enjoy the view before trekking around the area.

Our group of 5 only tried a few drinks and dishes. Everything was adequate. There was alcohol in the blended pisco sours and sangria, but it won't get you tossed. Pricing is in line with the rest of downtown Seattle. I would have thought much better of the salads if they hadn't used iceberg lettuce. But let's get real. If you come to a restaurant in the Market, you come to take a break, loiter and enjoy the view. This place covers all bases with decent, but unexceptional food and beverages. The service is European style meaning slow and ask for what you want, don't wait for them to offer it. We had a lovely time and I would definitely bring visitors back again.

Amazing Paella!

My son and I sat on their balcony with a drink and a very tasty salad watching what was happening at Pike Market - good service and tasty food

Cuban food was very good. Everyone, including our picky teens cleaned their plates. Service was excellent and they let us sit on their balcony patio with our pooches. The prices were very comparable to other nearby restaurants. Allowed us to eat food that is hard to come by. If you are up for something different and want a good dining experience this is great stop.

A group of friends and I had lunch here while visiting Seattle. Even though we had been told it wasn't great food, we decided to give it a try. I had the ceviche and wanted to like it so badly, but didn't. Now, to be fair, I can't say I've had Colombian food before. I've had food from countries all around it and love it, but that could be the problem. My husband had the paella (which he normally loves) and didn't enjoy his either. Our service was not fabulous either. It's a shame, they have the perfect location! Maybe they were just having a rough day.

I had a cocktail and some soup and enjoyed it all. The view from the balacony of the market below and the water beyond is nice. We enjoyed it!

Our first experience with Bolivian food. In a a most unlikely location. On an attractive balcony a world away from the crowds milling around the market place. We had the haddock and the salmon which were both very good. Wines were also very good. Recommend as a destination restaurant or as a break from milling around. Sit outside if weather permits.

The perfect place to people watch at Pike Street Market, this second story restaurant had tables where you could people watch, have a glass of some great wine and the best bowl of black bean soup, ever!!

Good mojitos and great outdoor patio for rare sunny days, can see the water from here too.

Once you find the stairs you can get away from the crowd crush and enjoy peering down over the market. We enjoyed the balcony seating and we’re waited on immediately. Try too our drink orders and then within the minute another person was dropping ice cold Coke at our table. We decided on salads and, no kidding, we had them in under five minutes. Lots of meat and a nice mixture of greens. They also have a freshly made “hot” sauce to drizzle on the salad. Nice experience in the middle of mayhem. Thank You.

Being Bolivian I was in shear excitement to find food from back home. Upon trying the initial appetizer of "salteñas" I knew it would be a bad experience. Service was not fast not slow. When our appetizer arrived it was steaming hot (not in spicy) and it tasted like it had been sitting under the heat lamp all day. Needless to say the rest of the meal was not pleasant at all. Upon mentioning this to another Bolivian friend they too shared the same sentiment.... never going back

This place was excellent. 2nd floor patio seating above the street facing Pike's Market. Had the paella and a pork dish with hominy. I know it sounds weird but they were both very tasty. Salad was nothing special, bread was good, sangria was ok. But the entrees themselves........mmmmmmm!

This Bolvian restaurant in Pikes Place was a great find and lovely place to catch our breathe after a morning of sightseeing! Salmon with spicy peanut sauce was lovely and their lemonade very refreshing!

All the dishes we ordered lacked flavors. Good location, just wished the foods were better. Service was good and so was my Pike beer.

It was 6:00pm, we'd been walking the area and Markets for awhile and wanted to stop for a break. The Copacabana was right there, Bolivian food, new to me, so we went in. There is indoor and outdoor terrace seating, select the outdoor seating if the weather is worthy. What a great view over the market with its vendors deconstructing their workspaces for the night. The rhythm of the street made it feel just wonderful. It's Fleet Week in Seattle right now so sailors abound! We selected a dish, the name I don't recall, but it was lamb chunks in a succulent sauce with black beans and rice. We shared the dish, it came with a salad and fresh bread and butter. The ambiance is the seller on this location.

View overlooking Pike Peak Marketplace and Bay - wonderful! We ordered ceviche (appetizer) - not so fresh, we ordered Pollo (chicken) kinda gummy. The only thing that was OK was the Sangria so if you just want a place "to chill, people watch and drink sangrias" - this is a great spot!

I had read about this place on IG, so we decided to try it for lunch. It was a lovely day, so sitting out on the balcony was so pleasant. They were sold out of a few items; It was busy at the Market. But we shared the potato appetizer with the Bolivian peanut sauce. It was quite good, very interesting. We also shared the pork entree (Fritanga?), which came with a side salad, rice and hominy. It was tasty, reminding me of Peruvian-style food I've had before. Service was excellent. Prices were ok. Everything is expensive at the Market, so...........But it was a lovely experience.

The foods good but nothing special. No view even though it's upstairs. If u just want a place for lunch and not looking for an experience this would be a nice choice. We were visitors to the area so we regretted not going to a more touristy place for seafood, chowder or a view. Ok for what it is.

We explored Pikes Place for the first time. Fun, but quite crowded. We stopped at Copacabana for a libation and snack. We sat on their second story balcony, which allowed us to enjoy the greater view while people watching. The Pisco Sour is authentic, the Sangria very tasty, and the Pike Naughty Nellie, most refreshing. We shared some Saltenas that were most excellent!

Nice place. We had a good lunch on the balcony. I had a chicken salad that was good and unique. my sister in law had an empanada that was good but a little spicy. Entrance is at the back of the building at a nondescript red door. Balcony has red umbrellas overlooking the Pike Place sign.

Service was extremely SSSLLLOOOWWW!!! Food was just okay. Drinks were at least cold! Not much other than the location above the alley! Would not go back unless dying for a cold drink! Other places that are better nearby.

Sitting on the balcony under bright red umbrellas we enjoyed a light lunch and cocktails in the sunshine. The menu is not typical, I wouldn’t think, but was familiar to me from my time in Lima and surrounding areas. If you want to try a new cuisine, sit on a patio and enjoy the people watching and the views, then by all means give this a shot. Try the Pisco Sour or the Inka Cola... But beware - there are stairs to navigate.

The food is really good at Copacabana, but the view can't be beat! Right above and across from the Pike Place Market with a waterfront view over the market makes it a great place to people watch. The paella was good and the flan was excellent!

Wish we would have gone somewhere else. Very few food or drink options. Nice view of market, but that's about all there is.

Had lunch on the balcony and the food was fine. They managed to find us a table for 5 although they were busy. But the service afterwards was below par and the owner (we think) rude. When I received my tab, she looked over my shoulder to see how much I would tip. That is NOT acceptable. I tip correctly and do like such a monitoring attitude. Stay away!

We liked this place - smallish and quant. Sit upstairs and sit outside so you can people watch the Pike Place Market crowd from above.

Marvelous view. Friendly staff. I love their Paella. I would recommend for adults only or at least teens with discerning tastes. The view is the 5 star here.

After walking around the market decided to go up to the Copacabana balcony for a drink over looking the markets and water views. After a drink decided to have a meal had to go inside for a menu, then went back inside to place the order. The waitress was not overbearing , so if you are not in a hurry that was good. We had a shrimp meal that was very good. This was our first visit to an Bolivian Restaurant.

Coacabana has been around a long, long time. Any restaurant that can survive so many years in the fiercely competitive restaurant world of Seattle has to have a lot going for it, and this one does. It is especially nice on sunny days, when diners sit out on a long balcony under big parasols and enjoy the fine fare and drinks served up. They have an excellent view from there of all the activities going on in the market below them. The number specialty is, of course, paella. Not the best I have eaten but still very good. Pair it with a big pitcher of sangria and you have the makings of a most memorable meal. Bear in mind that this is a very popular place, and on sunny days on weekends there is almost always a wait required. When the weather turns colder meals are no longer served out on the balcony. Inside dining only.

Great place to people watch over Pike Place. Paella was a different variation. A little dry and light on the seafood. Saltena was a nice treat. Worth it to sit on the balcony and see the world go by.

I really enjoyed the food (4*), my waitress (5*) who was first day on the job, the drinks (4*), and atmosphere and hospitality (5*) until the end of my stay. While writing up the previous review just after paying the bill, leaving a good tip (50%) for my lovely waitress, and soaking up an extra 5 mins of late afternoon sun, they sent in someone who needs lessons in manners and hospitality. Enough said.

We were seated on the balcony with an excellent view of the Pike's Market crowd and partial view of Elliot Bay. Relaxing and ability to people-watch made this a worthwhile spot for lunch. Service was good. The menu is Bolivian and ok but not special. Would go back again.

We stopped here because it had lovely outside, second floor, seating. The bloody Mary was boring and lacked alcohol. The ceviche was very different, unlike any other I've had.

We (wife and myself) were going to eat at the Chowder House but it was totally packed and there was a long line to boot. We then noticed a small sign over some steps leading up to what? We didn't know but, what the heck, we walked up to find a beautiful restaurant with just a few people eating there. We knew why as most must not know it's even there. They really need to put a much larger sign letting the public know they are open for business. We had a great lunch with a few beers to wash it down and it was all very good. Our waitress was very friendly and made our day much better with her efforts to be accomodating. I had the salmon and it was fresh and tastie. The wife had ordered the pork sandwich combo and she said it was to die for. So, tired of waiting in line? Climb the steps. Oh, the outside seating area overlooks the hustle and bussel of Pikes Market. Ron and Pam.

From the Copacaba at the Pike Place Market you can look over the roof of the market to get a terrific view of Puget sound and the Olympic mountain, if they are out. I ate there very recently with a friend and found the food to be very mediocre. The waitress was friendly. I found it very irritating that there was no soap in the dispenser in the restroom. It seems that the location is so good, they don't have to try very hard to keep the place full. It was interesting that in a Bolivian restaurant every cook and waitress was Mexican, with no Bolivians in sight.

Pike Place Market is a bustling mix of locals and tourists. Great for produce and unique gifts but, in my opinion, the sit-down restaurants are expensive. So when you are ready to eat, go to the north end of the market and walk just across the street. There, on the second floor of a funky two story wedge of a building is Copacabana Café, serving great Bolivian food at a great price. Friendly service and decent views of the market and a bit of the water. The value is good: Soup, Cuban sandwich, and wine for around $15 each. In the summer, there is an outdoor patio overlooking the market and street. From the second floor, it is great.

As others have said, the view was great and we sat outside on a beautiful day. Knowing nothing of Bolivian food a little guidance from the waitress would have been nice, but she just rattled off three things to try and left. My niece did enjoy the ceviche. My black bean soup was unremarkable. We ordered a beef dish, that was basically onions (a LOT of onions) and tomatoes, a tiny amount of beef on top of a pile of rice. It had little flavor. All in all, a forgettable meal.

On a nice day, you can't beat the view at Copacabana. The tables overlook Pike Place Market and if you look beyond, you can see Puget Sound. The menu is a bit weird...when we were there they told us that everything on the menu would take 30-45 minutes and the only things available were 3 Mexican dishes....? The sangria was good.

We’d been to the ballgame and filled up on seafood. This was our last night in Seattle with a 4am start in the morning. We decided to stay out in the late afternoon and have a couple of drinks. We’d stumbled upon Copacabana with a great outdoor first level terrace. We’d got seats on the terrace and in the warm afternoon sun and watched people come and go along Pike Place Market. We’d explained to the server that we only wanted a few beers, which she was fine with and throughout the afternoon replenished our glasses, bottles whenever required. I’d never been to a Bolivian restaurant but it looks similar to Mexican, but I’m sure there are subtle and not so subtle differences. As a place close to Pike Place to eat, drink and people watch with great staff, you’d be hard pressed to get anywhere better.

My family and I were at Pike's Pl. market and saw this restaurant with an outside patio overlooking the sound, and thought we couldn't go wrong. The menu was lackluster, it was Spanish inspired but had clam chowder haha. We ordered our food but the waitress spoke very little english and said we couldn't change anything about the food (i.e. no tomatoes on the sandwich), which was annoying but not the end of the world. When we finally get our food the sandwiches were so bad, very dry and flavorless, and the clam chowder literally tasted like something from a can, which seems unacceptable since seattle is right there on the water with some of the best seafood around. Overall, this place was a bad idea, but they did have a view of the sound/water, I will give them that.

Located on the second floor, across from the main buildings of Pike's market, this place has short waits and balcony seating. An excellent place to people watch, the three of us ordered very different entrees: I had lamb (very spicy but moist and tasty- though sparing of meat), my daughter had sirloin tips (the beef was good but the vegetables in it were even better!) of moderate spiciness, and my wife had chicken (just flat out superb). Meals came with two sides and nobody left feeling hungry. Desert, made with freshly made whip cream, was positively decadent. I recommend this family owned and operated place to everyone. Entree costs were in the $15-$20 range.

Great spot to look over the market activity with great service and menu. We stopped for lunch on a monday but was a bit surprised it wasn't busier.

This is an upstairs location that includes outdoor balcony dining where one can take in the atmosphere at Pike Place. I had the Sangria which was very good. For lunch I had the small Mariscos Salad which turns out to be a pretty large serving. It was a good tasting salad. Service of food was slow in some cases. Plates of food were waiting on the counter to be taken out to customers. I noticed this since I was seated in view of the prep kitchen.

Good food great experience the views from the restaurant of pike place market the the sound were amazing

Happened across this restaurant while walking towards Pike Place Market. Ordered Paella and Pollo Saltado. Unfortunately these dishes were very bland.. not savory at all! I Latin American countries, food made with love is delicious! This was not! The wine and the service was great however I would not recommend it.

I have been going to this restaurant for 20 years. It is simple, tasty, not terrible expensive, homey, and consistently good. Sweet wait staff. There are maybe 10 tables in this thin rectangle of a roomoverlooking the cobblestone street that is Pike Place Market. It's a great little place to hang out, enjoy tasty food ( I love the shrimp soup with rice on the side), and just chill out and watch the world go by.

In selecting an outside patio table with a picture-book view, in the heart of one of the West Coast's busiest tourist attractions (Pike Place Market), we weren't really expecting haute cuisine. But the food and the flavors were true, the service more than friendly, and the prices surprisingly reasonable. Dinner for two, including appetizers and wine, was about $55 before tip, and the entire experience was a pleasant one. We'll be back . . .

Grabbed a bite to eat and glass of wine on the Copacabana Cafe Deck. Fantastic view of the market and food was very good too. Had the Mariscos Salad (small portion was just perfect) with homemade bread served warm. Beautiful, clear and warm day in Seattle so sitting with the umbrella to block the direct sun was great. Wonderful service as well! We were able to enjoy a nice, relaxing lunch with a friendly waitress and amazing view of the market and Puget Sound.

No pre planning. Saw the deck and it was a sunny day! Works for me! They were busy but still managed to get a balcony table. My wife had the corn pie and salad which she enjoyed very much. I had the steak sandwich and spicy shrimp soup. Very good as well. Great place to hang for a while and catch your breath.

We had dinner on the balcony, we had a great view of pike market the lady that served us was really nice and polite, the food was good and the nice cold Pina coladas were very refreshing on a very hot night

The food was pretty good, nothing for kids the actually did not deliver the one thing they would no kind until we were ready for to leave, waited for food. Service was on plain terms absolute crap! Location is awesome

This is right across the street from the main Pike Place Market shops and is located on the second floor above the street. We escaped the crowded market and street and got a nice round table under a big umbrella on a nice summer afternoon for a beer and snack. We ordered a couple of tasty Mexican appetizers. A great stop, if you can get one of those open-air tables.

We both got the same thing two times: Me the vegetarian salad--cold spiced black beans, good warm rice, and a nice little salad. Just right for lunch. We sat outside, of course, and the view is magnificent. Service is good. Perfect for surreptitious people-watching as the crowds pass you below on Pike's Place. Don't go with the boliviano cafe; go downstairs and a few stores north to the bakery, La Paniere. You'll smell it.

Came across this little cafe whilst walking around Pike Place Market it had a lovely outdoor dining area overlooking the market. Service was excellent and the food was the same we had different salads off the menu with the homemade dressing and they were all superb and extremely fresh we were so impressed we went back for lunch a second time a couple of days later Well worth a visit and great cocktails too.

Service was less that desirable. I had to go find my own utensils to eat with from near the bar. The place is either understaffed or the staff is under trained. The portions of the food were of a very good size, so there is value for the dollar there. Quality and taste of the food were good. Location and view from the outdoor seating is what is the selling point of this place. Recommend drinks (local beers are excellent) and the view.

Very laid back and cosy casual place for good food and cocktails. THE FOOD IS AMAZING 🤩 I am not joking 😌 Best food and drinks for me in America so far. Recommend the Estafado and Lomito Saltado.

Gorgeous sunny day in Seattle!! Went here for lunch on the balcony. Amazing view. Service was slow. Ordered the mussels & clams. Some shells empty, some undercooked & all were in a grayish watery flavorless broth which smelled musty & fishy. No seasoning. Ate a few, left most in the bowl. Was actually afraid I'd get food poisoning. Also ordered the seafood paella. Rice was clumpy & entire dish was cold. An absolute waste of $35. Overpriced!! My suggestion...go up there, enjoy the view & order a sangria. Stay away from the food!!

Ordered ceviche & meat pie. The ceviche came on a platter floating in liquid, chewy chunks of white fish, looked like canned tuna, tiny canned shrimp, tiny cubes of tomato & onion....very sorry excuse for ceviche. The meat pie was lacking in meat & the pastry was tough, not appetizing. The sangria was alright but not the best. Waitress was obviously tired of customers, she waited on the large group that came in after us before she took our order....not good!

We went there for Salteñas, very tasty bolivian empanadas and actually skipped breakfast to be there as soon as they opened. No salteñas! They should post on their website what days they have and don't have them available. Or what time of the day. Very disappointed. Food we ordered was not too good either. Servers were nice.

We were wandering one of the back alley that is the Pike Place Public Market. We wanted something different, and a warm place to sit. Copacabana, Spanish food! Never ate there, so up the stairs (there is a steel spiral staircase at the south side and a standard one in the alley). The outside seating looked too good to pass up, and it was sunny. The food was very satisfying. I had a black bean and pork soup, oh soooooo good. My wife had a pork sandwich with the soup (Clam Chowder well, this is Seattle) as it was a lunch combo. 3 types of soup and several sandwiches to choose from. I did not go with the combo, as I knew I would get half of her sandwich, it was real big. The pork in both the soup and the sandwich was spot on. Oh, and the view? Look out over the Sound and gaze at the Olympic Mountains, Ahhh. Or watch the people in the Market below, always a fun show there too.

Wonderful restaurant and people at Copacabana. Had fantastic outdoor seating and even better steak dishes and salad. Can't wait to return

If you are looking for a place to have a nice view onto to the Public Market, this would be the perfect place to go! We watched the sunset as we sipped our sangria…! The food is alright, the atmosphere is better. Friendly staff, especially Ana, who was very patient as we requested to click several photos of us :) They recently celebrated their 50th anniversary! I don't think a place would stay open for that long if it wasn't good. Definitely recommend it! Oh and they have Inca Kola!! :D

OK; so picture this: it's a beautful early September day, and you're seated with good friends at a table overlooking the market, where you can view the "street scene", with it's wonderful sights and sounds unfoldiing just below you. Could you possibly find a better place from which to enjoy the atomosphere of this famous landmark? The answer is "no". And that's reason enough to enjoy a lunch or snack from the Copacabana Cafe balcony. Add to that a reasonable price, friendly service, and tasty food (not gourmet, but then you are not expecting gourmet here are you?) and you have a quintessential Seattle experience.

I found this by chance and loved it. The food was very good and not expensive. I sat outside in the sunshine, overlooking the main street in the market. Great for people watching.

This restaurant sits atop Pike Place Market and the perfect place to people watch. Frankly, we came here for drinks only, mainly because of Trip Advisor comments, but still wanted the experience. We ended up getting an order of mussels and they were so good, we got a second order. We did have to wait to be seated and knowing Spanish is a huge plus, but the server was fine and we had an enjoyable experience.

Great food and service. Went there after a bad cruise…almost got over the cruise. Paella was superb. Was an unexpected pleasure. Reasonably priced, great quality.

This place has a great deck overlooking the Pike Place Market. Our first Bolivian restaurant - the food was very fresh and delicious. I had an amazingly delicious salad and margarita - after all it was a beautiful day! My husband had a beef dish said it tasted good but was a bit small. The service was ok before receiving our lunch, but no follow up to see how our meal was or if we wanted more water or another cocktail,

Beautiful weather while sitting in patio. Food was wonderfully, delicious. Sangria was refreshingly good.

Split the paella for a late lunch. More than enough for both of us. Drinks were cold but not refilled. Bread was warm and brought promptly to our table. Service was friendly but disinterested. Prices were moderate.

Adequate service. I had a "flank steak" salad & my wife had the chicken salad. Basically, about an ounce of shredded beef (could have been flank steak), but it was hard to identify. Wet salad mixed with a weak dressing leaves a forgetful event - especially at $12.50 a salad. It only received three stars because it indeed is a great place to people watch.
