I’ve been to gastropubs

By Jerome |

I’ve been to gastropubs and this was not nice. The food was on average cold and not warm or hotel. I would not call it a gastropubs just because they have written the name down. For the record gastropubs are place that should be praised and love if the fusion food and goods . They

Food average Service Top Notch

By Ryan W |

Though the food was very average. Fries were overcooked. Chicken sandwich was better than the fish tacos. Atmosphere was okay - music a little too loud and lights a little too bright. Service was excellent - Celeste did an excellent job.

I'll be back

By Lori H |

Friday night, and I just had outstanding food and service in the cozy bar at Copper Fox. Started with Kirby bringing exactly the martini I ordered, followed closely by Chef Cortney's charred corn grits that got this southern girl's attention. Kirby recommended the pork porterhouse with crispy Brussels, and he was right on. When I asked about a drink on the menu, he suggested something off the menu that fit with the profile of my tastes. Don't miss this one.

Delicious Find Near Hyatt

By M_Monteon |

Accidental find while searching for lunch outside of Hyatt, glad to find cold beer, great eats (with generous portions), & incredibly delicious biscuits! Would definitely recommend to friends & family!

Late night Dinner

By Goldensxfour |

We chose this because it was close to 10 PM when we returned to our hotel (The Courtyard) and this restaurant sits right next door. We sat outside on their patio, it was a beautiful evening. The service was outstanding and the food was excellent, especially considering it was so close to closing time. We just had sandwiches, but they were very good and the waiter was great about giving us recommendations. We would go back!

Great service, ok food

By carrie9678 |

We got a AAA rate at the Courtyard and this included free breakfast here. On Sunday it was a brunch menu and I had the praline french toast. It looked amazing and the edges I could eat tasted really good- however the middle was not anywhere close to being cooked, it was soggy and eggy and just gross. I went on Sunday and the menu was slightly different. I had the pancakes and again they weren't fully cooked. Pancakes are the easiest thing to serve in a restaurant. When I get taste the moist batter vs fluffy pancake it's gross. If it wasn't free I wouldn't go back a second day. They don't tell you but you can get any drink from Starbucks with your "free" breakfast including a latte if you have that rate. Both servers were very attentive to the table but not there so much that they were annoying.

Interesting menu

By Tammy R |

So I think they were having an off day. Service was extremely slow and one of our people didn’t even get their bar drink due to some confusion or mishap that took place. The food made up for the service side. There was one server that took his time to stop and chat about some of his favorite local spots which was nice. Over-all I would go back.

Nice Pub connected to hotel

By RVBama |

The Copper Fox was a great place to have a drink before going out or after coming in while staying at the adjoining Marriott Courtyard. The do a great job of keeping it completely separate though so you don’t feel “inside” the hotel. We did not eat there, just had drinks, but the food looked good. Had a nice atmosphere to watch the end of the NBA finals as well.

Yummy breakfast

By SisPerth |

We checked out Copper Fox only because we were staying at the Courtyard by Marriot, so it was a convenient spot for a pre-dinner or late night drink. Although the bar service was friendly we found it a bit slow at times; almost as though there was an under-staffing problem. Selection of drinks on offer was pretty good and prices were average for a hotel bar in Chicago. The only food we tried was breakfast, which we really enjoyed. The staff were cheerful and attentive and we enjoyed the meals, which were reasonably priced. I especially enjoyed the Eggs Benedict: the thick slice of grilled ham added a wonderful flavour boost and the meal included a small cup of fresh fruit – a nice extra. On a fine day, it’s quite pleasant to sit out on the sidewalk, though the traffic can be a bit noisy; the interior is also very comfortable.

Good but overpriced!

By PKMPhiladelphia |

We were a little disappointed with dinner here. Three of us ordered burgers. One loved hers. One said hers was over cooked. And one didn’t like hers at all! I had the chicken layer salad that was ok. My daughter chicken dinner (gluten free) was good. The place is just overpriced for average food. The music is a bit loud in there as well.

Wouldn't go back.

By Christel H |

Nice decor but truffel fries just tasted Like steak fries, Brussels sprouts looked good but we're very bland. Tomato bisque was tasty but the bean soup was just ok. Little high priced for the quality of the food.

Tasty food with attentive service

By Janine W |

Ate here for dinner on a Tuesday evening. There were 2 of us and we each got a shareable. Portions were on the mark. If you like mac & cheese order the Gouda Mac & Cheese. Served in an iron skillet with Lots of cheese. We also tried their new entre Pork Belly & Grits. The pork belly was cooked perfectly. Service was attentive without being intrusive.

Hidden Gem!

By Lynnette S |

This was a great little eatery and was just on time for some weary travelers! Jacob did a fantastic job and made sure we didn't have to ask for anything! We will definitely visit to eat again. Thank you!

Great experience

By juliewJ8609HR |

Great food and cocktails. Kirby is one of the best bartenders I have met. Great mixologist and a really down to earth guy. The local beers are great, they even have their own microbrew. I will be back.

Worst experience I have ever had in Chicago

By Justin U |

If your into undercooked cold food that you pay a decent price for, then look no further. The staff are friendly, so a great bar. Definitely would not recommend this place for dinner. What an absolute let down.

Open late for a late dinner

By Donna H |

Copper Fox located off the hotel lobby had good service, good food and great hours to accommodate us. It was relaxing after a long day of fun at Navy Pier.

Very Disappointing

By Ken L |

From reading reviews, I expected to love this place. I don’t like leaving negative review but this was my experience. It’s a cool place. I’m in Chicago often. Maybe I’ll chalk it up to a bad night and give it a try another time. Since I was alone I sat at the bar to leave tables for others. The bartenders were not friendly. I immediately felt like I was intruding. It was just weird. I sat there completely ignored for almost 10 minutes. I almost just left. There was only one other person at the bar. When I finally got my martini it was excellent. Calamari was truly awful. It would be difficult to convince me it wasn’t frozen then microwaved. The burger was edible but really tasteless. Not sure how that happens in a beef town like Chicago. So many great burgers in this city. This was not one of them. I expected decent fries at a nice restaurant. I ate a few and left the rest. It was like warm, day old fries. I never leave fries uneaten. I guess I can’t say that anymore. I wanted to love the place but it just didn’t happen.

Surprise Retirement Dinner !

By Cooper |

Where do I begin! I contacted many restaurants in Chicago about hosting a dinner for twelve, for my father in laws retirement. After narrowing it down to a couple of restaurants and and speaking with a few different managers, I was sold on the Copper Fox. Dominic, the manager at Copper Fox made my decision very easy. Dominic was extremely helpful and accommodating. He was always quick to answer all my questions and requests with pleasure. We exchanged many emails over a few weeks. I picked from the family style menu adding some extra apps. We had two people with food allergies and Dominic made sure those foods weren’t in any of the dishes. The kids also had a great selection to choose from off their own menu. When we arrived, we were immediately greeted. After just a few minutes we were taken to our semi private room. The room was nicely set up and had lots of space for all of us. The menus that Dominic had printed and personalized for us were set up on the table. The menus were a great touch! You’ll see from my photos all the delicious food we ordered. I can write paragraphs about how delicious each dish was but we’d be here all day! The assistant Manager, Yessenia was there to assist and make sure everything was going smoothly. Yessenia was very attentive and definitely kept the evening perfect. Our waitress Celeste was so great, she was on top of her game. I can tell she is one of their top servers. We were so glad we had her that evening. I can’t thank Dominic, Yessenia and Celeste enough. We had the best time and really enjoyed ourselves. The food and drinks were phenomenal and the service was top notch. I highly recommend checking out the Cooper Fox if you’re ever in the area. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Chicago! Thanks again for making that evening so memorable for all of us!

By Julia W |

Thank you so much for organizing a lovely event for us! I was so busy, and it was last minute and you took all of that off my plate with your amazing menu and drink selections AND stayed well within my budget! Your staff was so welcoming and accommodating. Thank you so much! We had a great time!

Overall great customer experience

By Valerie G |

I called last minute to see if the Copper Fox could get us in. They not only got our large party in, they took fabulous care of us. I mentioned that our husbands wanted to watch football. Cat B. set us up in the beautifully appointed private room complete with TV. We had a wonderful meal and delicious cocktails. I highly recommend the Copper Fox.

Just Had Drinks/They were excellent!

By Christina L |

We just stopped in for a drink. Bartender was excellent. I had a lemon drop martini and my husband had some kind of mule(forget name) with caramelized pineapple. Both were top notch. Would definitely stop again.

Unexpected surprise!

By JenLem0928 |

Being in the service industry it’s hard to be impressed by service and food. The restaurant is small enough so that you don’t feel like one of a million customers that they see day in and day out. The food and drinks were great. We got the biscuits, Mac and cheese and lobster hush puppies. All delish! My husband and I shared the steak with frites and couldn’t have made a better selection. They had a nice beer selection that the waitress was knowledgeable and helpful with. If that wasn’t enough the waitress herself was great. Friendly and ready to meet our every need. I can’t remember her name but she was blonde with curly blonde hair. Me forgetting has nothing to do with her but more so about me being like Dory! The manager even came by the check in on us and it didn’t feel like a drive by. Thank you for the awesome and flawless meal. It’s not often that you find that anymore. Next time we are in Chicago we will be sure to stop by.

Unique Food & Atmosphere

By Kylee Z |

I had the pleasure to find this place while exploring the Miracle Mile. I decided to try a #16 biscuit for an appetizer and loved it! I then had the crispy chicken sandwich, which was an interesting and delicious take on the classic. Would definitely recommend!

Best biscuits in town!

By creativecrew |

Innovative menu and reasonable prices. Love the handmade biscuits which are a house specialty. Everything was beautifully presented and seasoned beautifully. Love the beet salad and the salmon!

Excellent Service!

By krisek-t |

This trip we did not have time to dine at the restaurant, but we have in the past and it was amazing. During our stay we stopped at the bar twice and received amazing service from Eli! He was able to accommodate all our questions and has a great attitude!

Good Dinner and Drinks

By BigDaddy3859 |

Had dinner and drinks here and was very pleased with our choice. We had the biscuits and honey as a starter and they were great. Also had the hush puppies and was somewhat disappointed in them. My steak sandwich was really good and everyone else liked their choices. Service was really quick and a good overall experience.

Fantastic! Must visit!

By springengineer |

At 8:45 on a Saturday night, with a post-dance competition group of 24 hungry dancers and parents, and a two hour wait at Grand Lux, we called Copper Fox on a whim and asked if they could accommodate us. Our entire party couldn’t have been happier with our restaurant decision! I can’t speak highly enough about the staff. Every single staff person we interacted with with kind and accommodating. The food was fantastic and they accommodated our multiple food allergies/sensitivities without any issue. The drinks were excellent, the food delicious, and the staff phenomenal. It was a great atmosphere and we can’t wait to come back on our next trip to Chicago. Thank you, Copper Fox!!!

Good breakfast options

By Rodney A |

I only had breakfast here but it was good, filling and convenient. Service as a little slow, but I liked the menu.

Great meal at reasonable price

By PaulM36538 |

Myself and two of my co-workers stopped in for dinner and were all very happy with our experience. The service was outstanding, including the chef stopping by our table and talking to us for several minutes. Their menu items are unique, and we found them all excellent. The burger was truly outstanding, with their white BBQ sauce adding a little bit of spiciness. Another in our group had the fried chicken sandwich at the recommendation of the waiter, and he was not disappointed. The final person in our group ordered the Salmon, and was clearly delighted upon the first bite. I will definitely be going back to try their pork porterhouse when I have a bigger appetite.

Would not recommend

By cindy w |

We went to this restaurant because they offered gluten free options. The steak I ordered was not very good at all. For the price point charged, it was very tough. My granddaughter said her risotto was bland. The service was not very good at all. I could understand this if they were busy, but there were only 2 tables occupied. I would not recommend this restaurant and I am typically not a very particular person especially when our bill was $100 and we did not order alcohol.

Sunday evening dinner

By Pauline D |

Saw the mnenu shortly afer checking into hotel and decided this was the place to go. My co-worker and I ordered different options and shared between us, and still didn't eat everyting. The waitress was helpful. We were not rushed during the meal or afterwards. Prices were very reasonable for such a deleicious meal.

Wow!

By Liz S |

While my stay at the hotel wasn’t great...the Copper Fox was amazing. The two bartenders on staff were pleasant and knew what to recommend on the menu. The avocado salad is delicious! Further, the next day I tried the turkey and avocado sandwich and it was equally yummy. Great people and great food.

Great food and service.

By sandralott62 |

Stopped after the theatre, food was delicious, drinks were good and service was superb. We especially want to mention Jerrica and Kirby. They were attentive and very friendly. Will definitely come back.

Copper Fox

This is a place I would frequent even if I wasn't staying at the hotel. Food is excellent with a great bar. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner there during our visit.

Nice Place for Breakfast

By Robert D |

My wife and I enjoyed our breakfast at Copper Fox in Chicago on September 1, 2018. We both had the wild berry pancakes which were excellent. Our drinks and service were very good and our cost was very reasonable.

Once was enough

By MomWhoMatters |

Maybe it was an off day for the dish washers, but my wine glass smelled horribly of a musty dirty dish rag. The silverware had fingerprints all over it. The menu was limited. (We went over lunch.) I had the Caesar salad, regrettably. It was a small pile of romaine lettuce with a flavorless dressing and virtually non-existent Parmesan cheese...it was the kind you sprinkle from a container. The only good thing about the food we all had were the croutons (homemade and hearty) as well as the biscuits my son had. Those were excellent. Waitstaff was friendly. The two burgers were not cooked the way we asked (both under cooked) but still edible. I would ask that they sanitize the wine glasses and silverware in a different way to get rid of the dirty rag smell and update the Caesar salad...perhaps serve a bigger portion and add a little flavor to the dressing (black pepper would help) and use real shaved or shredded parmesan cheese.

Our family of six all enjoyed this stylish restaurant, our server Celeste was wonderful and attentive, and the food was great. We started off with biscuits that were free because we did a Yelp check in. They were really good and I highly recommend getting them. One order came with three sizable biscuits and honey butter. My salmon was perfect, and two kids enjoyed the skirt steak. The roasted brussels sprouts were enough for several people to share. They tasted good, although I think we would have preferred them if they weren't quite so roasted. They had a singed taste to them. My daughter thought the rigatoni carbonara was a little plain. My husband enjoyed a very cold local beer and the pour on my tasty Cabernet was very generous. Definitely worth the $10 per glass. Check was $180 before tip, which we thought was pretty good for the location and food. Recommended!

Great Food...Amazing ambiance

By troyrichardson1982 |

This place is the perfect place to relax and experience a phenomenal culinary experience. Excellent service, tasty choices from unique sharables to the main dishes! And the best seafood I have had in Chicago!

Totally Blown Away For Breakfast

By D S |

To be honest, this is a true hidden gem in an amazing city! Starting off with the host making you feel comfortable, then the amazing service that Matt provided us. I am still in awe with Perfect the service was from him. If he could be our waiter at every place we ate, it would have been a perfect culinary experience. Then to top it off, Chef Courtney came out to see how the food was, and was blanketed with compliments. The wife and I believe this is the best breakfast in Chicago, and that says more than you know. If you get the chance, please don't turn down the opportunity to experience this!

Amazing Biscuits

By Mariah |

We booked Copper fox off Open Table. My sister is vegetarian and finding food can be difficult. Two of us had the 7 layer chicken salad which was very filling. The Biscuits are their specialty and very delicious. We also had the huevos rancheros and kale and Brussels sprouts which were very good as well. The restaurant is big and bright.

Comfortable class

By Julia F |

This restaurant is attached to the Marriott Courtyard. Had a few meals there - mainly breakfast, but had dinner there the last night. Excellent food, classy atmosphere, but fancy attire is not required. Breakfasts were very good. Skirt steak with garlic fries was outstanding as well as shrimp and lobster roll.

The food was amazing! Love the truffle fries! The Fox Burger is a MUST! Service was also wonderful - very accommodating after a long morning of appointments at NW.

Girls Weekend

By Erin T |

Stopped in for lunch and had a great experience. We both ordered the burger and fries, it was excellent! I highly recommend adding an egg to the burger. We did and weren't disappointed! It took a little bit to get our food but it was worth the wait.

Just drinks

By Bacinac |

We stopped in for cocktails. Sat at the bar. Decent drinks but not noteworthy. The venue was not as intimate as I expected. Friendly service. Didn’t eat so can’t comment. Probably won’t visit again.

Nice Ambiance and Service

By Irina |

This restaurant is very inviting, as far as atmosphere and different seating options. I came in for brunch during the weekend. I was seated comfortably and promptly, server/bartender Darius was quite friendly and attentive. Admittedly, it was just the beginning of lunch time, and the restaurant didn't look too busy. The food took some time to wait for though, and I don't think I can grade it the highest - the eggs tasted fine, if not a bit burnt (or was it oil on the bottom of the pan that was burnt?) plus the whole dish was too spicy (Italian sausage, hash browns). The best part of the meal was a generous portion of wheat toast and two types of jam (they make those themselves, another server told me) - so, blueberry and strawberry jam and that wheat toast were genuinely delicious. The restaurant has a great location on Ontario St. Just a minute walk from N Michigan Ave, it's on the ground floor of the Courtyard by Marriott hotel. I was told, this modern gastropub is quite popular with the local public, especially in the evenings. The name Copper Fox of this restaurant has a historical connection to the past, and the plaque on the wall inside the restaurant is a proper reminder of that.

Very pleasantly surprised by this restaurant within a Marriott.

By scott46 |

I don't usually eat in restaurants within hotels but Copper Fox got good reviews on TripAdvisor and my wife and I decided to try it since it was so close to the hotel where we were staying. The menu was more interesting than many renowned Chicago restaurants and the service was great. Good cocktail menu and the bartender was knowledgeable about the wines.

Burger was well prepared, and the fish tacos were terrific!

By Laura S |

Ate takeout from here on a Sunday evening. The food was fast, well prepared, and delicious. I would happily eat there again.

Great Experience.

By princess1964Ontario |

Enjoyed dinner with some friends, great choice, delicious experience. We shared the fried avocado, brussel sprouts, calamari fries and the crab hushpuppies...all delicious! My husband and I enjoyed the steak sandwich and quinoa burger, equally as delicious. Server even went out of her way to provide the strawberry shortcake dessert that they were out of. Loved!

Amazing Appetizers

By Cindy R |

A friend and I stayed in downtown Chicago recently and, after a long day walking around, wanted to find a reasonably priced restaurant near our hotel on Michigan Avenue. We couldn't have been more pleased than we were with the Copper Fox Gastropub. We both started with a locally-brewed Maplewood Pale Ale, new to us and crisply delicious. We each ordered an appetizer: the lump crab hush puppies and the pork belly with charred corn grits. I've lived in the Southeast a good part of my life, so I was familiar with hushpuppies, grits and crab—but I have to say, these were transformed. The hushpuppies were crisply fried on the outside and tender on the inside, with the delicious taste of crab coming through like a taste of the sea Sweet, complex, and delightful. They were served with a citrus (I'd say lemon) aoili for dipping, but I liked them even without it. The menu says they include jalapeno but I didn't really taste any heat, which was fine with me. The pork belly was melt-in-your-mouth tender with a crunchy skin, and the grits were creamy/cheesy goodness. The perfectly fried quail egg pushed the whole dish over the top—while a small frisee salad tossed in lemon vinaigrette provided a perfect clean, bitter counterpoint to the richness of the pork and grits. For dinner, my friend had the cornmeal-encrusted mahi mahi tacos, which she pronounced delicious, enjoying the little kick of the chipotle dressing. I had the the Kale and Brussel Sprouts salad with added grilled salmon (perfectly cooked). It was a generous portion and I was very happy with it, since I like fruit among strong greens. If I had a nitpick, it would be that I didn't need both roasted grapes and that many golden raisins. They could have held off just a little on the raisins. But the blend with pistachios was yummy, and the salad was hearty enough that I didn't need the salmon, especially after those appetizers. Next time, I think I would opt to order more appetizers and just luxuriate in a place that knows how to turn out delectable small plates! Oh, and Jacob was our server and he was delightful. Service overall was prompt and attentive.

Won’t be back if you’re offering Thanksgiving buffet have more options.

By grneyes131 |

Wouldn’t recommend Thanksgiving buffet had very few options especially dessert (it was horrible) not worth price paid. No regular menu options offered. I have been a waitress and always leave a tip of 20% or more adding automatic gratuity to bill isn’t acceptable unless it’s a large party. Host was rude, personality of a nat. Won’t be back.

Chi Town Luxury eating

By ConR007 |

Dinner was great! Three of us dined together so I had the opportunity to eat three dishes. Each of us felt we like one dish more than the other: I enjoyed the chicken and grits as I’m a gravy girl. The shrimp and grits dish was my sister’s favorite but I wanted to grits creamier and the shrimp a bit more cooked. All and all we agreed the crab hushpuppies were excellent and the strawberry shortcake was the best thing we ate. Would definitely eat here again.

Delicious food!

By Pennie S |

My friend and I were staying at the hotel this restaurant is in and were so exhausted we didn't want to venture out. That was a great choice because the service and food were wonderful. I had 1/2 avocado salad (with some fried avocado slices - yum!) that was $6 and a veggie risotto for $19. Ample servings too. Since we were part of a Collette tour group we had breakfast buffet here and it was a disaster. For 43 people they only had a small serving bowl of eggs and kept running out (of course) of that and everything else. Very poorly run. Ordering off the menu would be much better.

accommodating staff, delicious food

By orourkdi |

I ate one dinner and two breakfasts at the Copper Fox; the food and service were excellent every time. Although I was a solo diner, they were always happy to give me a lager tabl so I could spread out my work while I ate.

Awesome service and food!

Amazing drinks made by the bartender. Food was melting in our mouths. The server Allie was so sweet and helpful! Would go back everyday if I could. Try the choc-me-up and the biscuits!

Real Restaurant Attached to Marriott Courtyard

By Motion22 |

Glad to find a Marriott Courtyard with a real restaurant attached to it. Nice bar with good selection of wine. Service was quick, friendly, and knowledgeable. Mac and cheese very good with several cheeses. Ordered the hamburger which was cooked just like ordered. It and fries very tasty. Went back a couple of times. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Several entrees and salads and sandwiches. Serve Pepsi products. Outdoor seating too.

Good food, excellent staff...

By FoodCritic89 |

Good food nicely presented. Somewhat noisy. Small menu with diverse selections. Nice choice of reasonably priced wines. Also a full bar. You can fill up on appetizers or entrees. Not crowded so it is generally easy to get a table or sit at the bar. Being located inside the Courtyard makes it ideal for inclement weather. There are several locations within the restaurant offering bar, high tables, or regular seating. I intend to return.

Perfect pitstop between attractions

By hrobinson1114 |

Unassuming little pub tucked away in a Marriott along the mag mile. Clean, open, not overly crowded. They have breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast is the typical fare—biscuits, eggs, meat, frittatas. Lunch is sandwiches (burgers, steak, clubs etc) and salads. Dinner is similar to lunch. I had the burger and fries. The burger was juicy and cooked medium as I asked. The fries hot and crispy. I had a mule, their signature drink. It was fine, but a little sweet for a mule. I also had foxy n’ famous, a pineapple and mezcal concoction. It wasn’t bad, but didn’t wow me. The bartender was the only server at the time I visited, but she made sure I always had what I needed. Not a destination restaurant, but I was super hungry in the middle of a touristy museum binge and this was the perfect pit stop!

Pleasantly THRILLED

Great food

By Eric K |

Great food, great staff and great patrons. Couldn't have asked for a better place to grab a bite on my trip

Decent and overpriced.

By Matt F |

First off, when we went here we had no idea it was part of the Hilton hotel-we we’re experiencing (or hoping for) a gastro pub to relax in, unwind in and just eat some fair prices, decent food. To be fair, our waiter was great-polite and fun and he deserves his own four stars, but the food-albeit nice enough-was nowhere near the standard to justify the expensive price and the cocktails were sub par in selection and concoction. More a basic hotel bar than a true “pub” with little to no real atmosphere either. Half of this rating at least belongs to the server.

Right place, right time!

By Angelica R |

The cocktails were amazing. Thank you Kirby for making it a first time great experience. Along with a great personality he had great recommendations of cocktails on and off the menu. Very pleasant to talk to. If only we had visited this place sooner...

Pickled Onions!

By Haley H |

For being a "hotel" restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised to eat a fantastic salad and Brussels sprouts. I had the Fried Avocado Salad, but they were out of the breading mix used to fry, and honestly, i was ok with that. I thought the freshness of all the ingredients really came through and i don't think i would have liked the salad as much if they were fried. The salad was large and came with super fresh tomatoes and these wonderful pickled onions. I have to say, i was super impressed by the flavor of this salad. I also had the Brussels sprouts and they were also tasty - not the most amazing i've ever had, but certainly in the top 10. Great wine list too and they offer local beer on tap - which is a nice thing to see in a large city. Overall, really loved this spot.

Great experience

By Brian |

The private room they gave us was beautiful and the service provided by Allie was excellent! Great meal and fair price for a lovely lunch in downtown Chicago

Great gem

By Lally3 |

A friend recommended ad dined before theater. Nice dining room, staff were excellent. we had a salad which was original and fresh, biscuits -- which were great and spilt the steak sandwich. All food was very good. Nice lighting and ambiance.

Great concept, food and drink - slow service

By Foodiein757 |

First off, it's located inside the Courtyard hotel - that kind of threw us for a loop. great atmosphere with bar, table and sofa seating. We were fortunate to get a sofa area. Service was slow and our primary server was not particularly friendly but was comptent. We ordered drinks and a couple of biscuits. Folks, i'm from the South and these biscuits are awesome! They were layered and fluffy. We could have eaten a dozen but didn't want to spoil our dinner. Would definitely go back and give it another try!

Great Location, Great Food!

By Blueisch |

We started with crab hushpuppies and a glass of wine. Our dinner entries were the scallops with fennel salad and risotto. Both dishes were amazing! Reasonable price, good service, great food.

Table of 6 in private room. Excellent meat. Very nice server. Fast service. Affordable price. Quiet. I recommend!!

Great place for quick lunch

By brockkm |

Ate here last week with a couple of colleagues. We sat at the bar and had great service for ~2:00PM. Bartender never hurried us and was welcoming to out-of-towners. Their crab hushpuppies were great while not overwhelming. Sandwiches and fries were right on point and came out quickly. Beer on tap was cold. What else do you need? The menu had lots of choices so I’d consider going back for dinner if I’m back in the area.

Excellent Meal

By Bruce C |

I went with a group of 8 people for a business dinner and we were put in a room a bit off to the side of the main dining room -- no solid barrier but seemingly private and we were able to carry out a discussion and have great meal at the same time. The cocktails were all enjoyed-- I got their version of an Old Fashion made with Rye and a bit of Tabasco with home made bitters, served in a highball glass with a large ice sphere -- it was perfect. We shared a bunch of appetizers --- I recommend the Deviled Eggs. I had the small kale/brussel sprouts salad, served with pistachios and roasted grapes in a delicious dressing, this is a signature salad and I would recommend it highly. I also had the pork porterhouse - a 16 ounce in bone cut with both the tenderloin and the strip; cooked perfectly and one of the best pork dishes I have had. It was covered in a sauce (I cannot describe) and served with a large portion of roasted brussel sprouts. The service was excellent; they "got" that we were having a business meal. Average noise measured was a very comfortable 68 dB. I have paid twice a much for a meal of the same quality. It was a great meal and I would come here again in an instant.

Good breakfast

By Tobias I |

I really liked the breakfast in this place (in terms of food) and the service. But I think a restaurant shouldn't serve cappuccino in disposable cups even when they get it from the inhouse Starbucks for you.

Quick service on a Saturday afternoon

By Crow42 |

We had a reservation for 5:30pm. Outside looked busy but there was plenty of spots without a reservation but we didn’t want to risk waiting too long on a Saturday evening. We ordered calimari fries as an appetizer and weren’t disappointed. They were fried just right and none were rubbery!! (Forgot to take a picture) As you can see my hubbies med burger was grilled just right (adding brussel sprouts as a side is extra). My crab and shrimp sandwich was a cool treat after a long day. The rosemary fries didn’t disappoint but are a bit salty. The food was served VERY quickly and tasted great, you couldn’t ask for better. The price was average for the area at a nice place.

Cocktail

By Jeanne E |

The Oh Mai! mule was no longer on the restaurant menu (was on, online) but the bartender made me one anyhow. Good selection of beers on tap.

It was an ok breakfast

By DinFrance |

I am feeling a bit guilty now as all the other reviews are all so excellent. Popped in for breakfast as was close-by (and damn freezing outside). Maybe my view has been affected by the fact I was still trying to defrost but it didn't seem anything special. A little lacking in ambience, service was a little slow (admittedly they did seem busy).....and even the plate annoyed me. Had long rectangular plate but it seemed to have almost like a pivot point in the centre underneath. Every time went to cut something the plate seemed to swivel. Most odd. My colleague had the same issue. Anyway, it was all fine but just not the same level as all the other reviews. Must be me?

Good food and great location

By kangliu453 |

The restaurant shares the same building with the hotel that I stayed during my business trip. It was raining so hard outside so I decided to take a shot with this restaurant. It looked like a fancy place but their menu and price were reasonable. I got a biscuit and a pork potterhouse (I couldn't remember the name). I liked the biscuit a lot !!! About the pork dish, it was not super great but good enough for a night sleep. Hints: Get the name card from front desk/ concierge and show it to the host for a free biscuit.

Excellent service, quality food

By vidzgandy |

Stopped here for a cheeky bite to eat with some beers... really good service, steak sandwich was very moorish.. could have eaten a dozen of them.. quality local and imported ales makes for a good afternoon

Had a great dinner

By stella8443 |

Business trip so ate at hotel late. Wasn't expecting much but it all ended up being really good. Recommend.

Excellent

By Inthebiz25 |

From start to finish, this was an excellent place to eat. The server and back server were hospitable, friendly. The food was outstanding, even the deviled eggs! The salmon was cooked perfectly and the drinks we're tasty!

Very nice group dinner

By Amy |

We had a group dinner in the Cellar. Atmosphere was great for our group and conversations. Food was delicious, nice variety of options for our group. Service was friendly and attentive. Elaine was helpful and responsive leading up to our event.

Great Happy Hour Spot

By Christine |

Great venue with tasty food and accommodating service! I hosted a happy hour here for my work and I cannot recommend it enough!

Private Event went swimmingly

By gsbaer |

I held a private dinner meeting for 27 people on a Thursday night. The manager, Dominic Angotti was very flexible in helping me plan the event, especially considering that the guest count went up from 8 to almost 30 a few days before the event. The private room was well appointed and the staff (Darius and Lindsay) handled the large number of diners very well. It was easy to choose menu options to accommodate a variety of tastes and dietary restrictions. I particularly enjoyed the vegetarian risotto. If you are planning an small business event in the downtown Chicago area, then I would not hesitate to recommend Copper Fox.

Best burger ever!!

By ironjules |

Their signature burger is amazing!!!! Ordered medium rare. Devilled egg appetizer is good as well. Maple wood zero IPA also spectacular and pairs well with the burger

This restaurant was amazing!

By Travelguys1970 |

This restaurant was very clean and great service! I had the fox burger and it was delicious. Seasoned very well and had a great flavor. They had ran out of their chips which was the only thing I was a little disappointed about because they were sooooo good 😂!

Terrible food terrible service

By Caroline A |

Terrible food. Terrible service. I fell for the good reviews in spite of my hesitancy to eat at a hotel restaurant. The meal took forever for breakfast and when it arrived the biscuits and gravy were totally cold and the potato cake chilly as well. Server was clueless about the menu and lacked understanding of when a request for a condiment is made its to put on the food so that you can begin to eat. He brought the hot sauce 15 minutes later! I have spent over 20 years in the food industry and I am understanding and know the business. This business just failed and I couldn’t perceive a reason why. Management stopped by our table after we had paid our check to basically offer condolences (nothing else) for holding us hostage for over an hour over a terrible breakfast. If true amends were going to be attempted they would have checked much earlier.

Nice pub in the Courtyard Hotel

By fmationg |

Many of the Marriott properties are stepping up their restaurant game. Copper Fox is definitely in that group. We were actually staying across the street, but Copper Fox offered guests a 15% discount, so with the rain and proximity we decided to give it a try. We dined at brunch time so there was a good selection of breakfast and lunch items. It was a bit early for cocktails so we just went with the non-alcoholic variety. My companion ordered the Lean Green which was made up of kale, apple, spinach, cucumber, lemon. Her comment was it did not taste fresh and was a bit flat, so save yourself the money and try something else. We both had the Morning Fox burger(Creekstone beef, white cheddar, fried egg, bacon, white BBQ, crispy onion, housemade pickle) and were pleasantly surprised. While a bit on the pricey side($18), it was one of the best burgers i have had. The burger was tasty with layers of flavor that all played well together. If you are a YELPer do not forget to check in so you can get an order of their amazing biscuits. Super light with a nice crispy crust. We will definitely be back to try their other menu items.

good service and food

By tanda367 |

The service was very good and our glasses were never empty. I had the pan roasted salmon dish with spinach, tomato and potato. It was very good. We were a group of four women and we tend to hang around after the meal but we did not feel rushed out at all.

Great food just off the Mag Mile.

By Jessica S |

We visited because it was close to where we were at the time we wanted to eat and the menu seemed appropriate for my family’s varied tastes. Picky child, vegetarian child, not picky loves wine mom, and will eat anything dad. It was also my girls’ 10th birthday. We were not disappointed. The service was exceptional and super friendly. Could not have asked for better. Food was delicious. With so many choices on the Mag Mile it would be easy to overlook this restaurant slightly off the beaten path. Don’t skip this one. I will be back and will recommend to friends and family.

10 Days In The States

By Robert Keith S |

Wow, beautiful food and nice drinks . We had just arrived in Chicago and this restaurant was a few minutes walk from the Hyatt Centric on Magnificent Mile. It was a pleasant night so we sat outside. The beer and cocktails recommended by the waitress were lovely. We had a quinoa and black bean burger, a vegetable risotto and a side of fried Brussel sprouts. The sprouts were cooked with jalapeños and sherry vinegar, simply stunning. Would definitely recommend this place, service was great too.

Average food. Great service

By Morella |

This restaurant is part of the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel. Disclaimer: We tried its food as part of the hotel room service only. The (room service) menu is limited, perhaps the onsite restaurant has more to offer. Breakfast was reasonable in both variety and quality. We tried the pancakes, French toast, breakfast sandwich and a berry and yogurt parfait. Dinner dishes were of good size. Quality was OK, not excellent. We tried the 7-layer salad, the shrimp and crab roll and the turkey and avocado sandwich. Service was consistently good. Personnel was very polite and pleasant.

The Vegetable Omelette - OH MY- I Did it twice

By Gloria M |

The omelette was so good I went back twice. I asked for vegetable omelette two days in a row and both were good. The hostess was kind and remembered me from the previous day. The servers on both days helped me create the omelette I wanted. Just very

Great Food and service loved everything we tried

By Benjamin J |

Great tasting food we even came back for breakfast and another dinner during our week long stay. Fantastic service every time we dined here. Plenty of meal options to choose from. Every meal we tried was delicious and with great flavour.

Great place for a group event!

By Kate A |

Attended a college reception here, very impressed. Food options were delicious (those biscuits are amazing!), drinks were great, and the service was attentive without being intrusive. Very well executed event! No street parking for a few blocks, though, so prepare to either pay high garage rates or walk a bit from a spot on the street.

Very cool spot

By Holly M |

Very nice vibe. As recommended on Seated, its great for first dates or catching up with old friends! You can get some small plates to share, which is great for versatility or order some big dishes. We did a combo of both and ordered two small dishes and one main to split between two. The rigatoni is delicious! Very creamy and tasty. The Brussels add a nice crispy texture and are yummy as well. Lastly, the biscuits were moist and perfectly sweet!

Great service and food

By Tracy A |

My husband and I enjoyed our dinner here. We had the mac n cheese appetizer, I had fish tacos, and my husband had the pork porterhouse. Everything was really good. The service was on point too. Definitely recommend.

Nice Pub

By Ashley R |

I stopped here by myself when I was in Chicago. This place was very close to my hotel and I was alone so I sat at the bar. Great Service. I had the fried avocado salad with chicken. Everything was fresh and tasty. Large portions I could only eat half and reasonable prices as well.

Very good lunch

By BoCoMoTiger |

We went for lunch and usually we don't focus on hotel restaurants. This place was a nice change of pace. The food was very good and the service was excellent. A limited, but solid selection of draft beers to boot.

Light Dinner

By Jim W |

After a half day of touring and shopping we stopped at the Copper Fox for a drink. After seeing the menu we decided to stop back for dinner after more shopping. Mussels and Pork Belly with grits were outstanding. a local beer on tap was equally good. Prices were quite reasonable for the upscale location. Highly recommend it.

Get the kale salad!

By Ibegonenow |

Excellent salad-would love to get the recipe. I love that they offer half portion-leaving room for the salmon which was good but not great. My colleague had the burger which was "pretty good." Great service-and a few great dishes but all in all (with so many options in Chicago!) I would say try another.

Great Thanksgiving Meal

By Van W |

We came into town and had made reservations at Copper Fox for Thanksgiving. The entire staff was great! One in our party was vegan, and both Jacob (our sever) and Courtney (chef) made sure everything was ok. The meal was great! The service was great! We are in Chicago often, and will definitely return!

We stumbled into Copper Fox at the last minute

By janecS1001XO |

Open table told us to go to the Copper Fox , so we did We were hungry and crabby after a busy day in the city This was July 5 th and late. We were seated right away and the service was wonderful. I think our servers name is Jacob. I had the herb roasted chicken and my daughter had the diver scallops. We shared the risotto It was all awesome. We also shared the deviled egg appetizer which was the only thing keeping me from a blood sugar plunge. Chef Cortney Pierce came to our table to check on us to make sure we were happy. the last time a chef has checked on my meal was at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore and that was June 13, 2014

Good place with good food!

By Sue B |

This is a nice restaurant to eat a good meal. I had a salmon salad that was delicious. The portion sizes are very generous! The atmosphere is ok, nothing spectacular. They attended to our needs.

Great Dinner!

By Dave D |

Usually make a point not to eat in hotel restaurants. Happy we did tonight though. Copper Fox Gastro Pub was excellent! Our server Wesley was awesome as was the food. Best burger ever! Will come back.

Good breakfast

By Luvsviolet |

You can enter this restaurant from inside and outside the Courtyard Marriott. We had a regular breakfast, eggs, sausage and toast. Nothing out of the ordinary. Good and quick service.

Good stuff!

By Hoagymon |

This place was near our hotel. We were seated and then I realized it was kind of part of the hotel. I’ve done a lot of travel and anytime a restaurant is hooked to the hotel, you’re paying more money for ok halfway decent food, but nothing that great. This was my fear until we got the food. It was great. Biscuits are good, the Mac n cheese was great, everything was pretty tasty and worth the money for sure.

Great find for good food and great service

By traveling8505 |

We weren't having very good luck with restaurant choices when we stumbled upon this restaurant. We stopped for a quick snack with our kids and were pleasantly surprised. The couple appetizers we had were fantastic and the service was wonderful. Our daughters enjoyed it so much that they asked to go back there for dinner...and the next morning breakfast. Service was very well done - all three times they were great at checking back on us and our food came out quickly. We will be back.

Great Breakfast

By Boatbunny |

Right across the street from the hotel, great breakfast, reasonable price for the city, healthy options, as well as classics like pancakes, pecan praline French toast and biscuits with sausage gravy

Friendly service - but not that great

By Diane K |

We had breakfast here on a Saturday morning. Our food was OK but nothing great. I had the Berry Pancakes - and it was pretty tasteless. Our server was friendly - but it seemed all the servers were rather overwhelmed with many people waiting for service. We saw two tables walk out before they were served. I thought the breakfast dishes were less expensive then other breakfast spots in the area.

Nice breakfast place

By 448kirstir |

We had a nice breakfast outside right on the street patio. Food was good and service was friendly. And their freshly pressed orange juice was just excellent!

Just okay

By lietuva_9 |

Booked a table with a few friends for brunch in this bright modern spot attached to the Marriott Courtyard just about a block east of Michigan Avenue. We had a semi-private room which was nice when I figured out how to turn the really loud music down in it. Too loud! Our waitress may have been somewhat inexperienced; she did not check on the table much during the meal, and didn’t offer topups for coffee or tea. We were surprised when an order of cappuccino was brought to the table in a Starbucks go-cup rather than a proper ceramic cup. Weird. My over easy eggs were not properly cooked - one of them had a good bit of raw white to it. Yuck! For the prices charged, any diner would do better.

Lunch place

By Traveling D |

This is adjacent to the Marriott Courtyard so convenient. I had a burger without the bun and it was above average. The fries were extra tasty. The service was above average

Wedding brunch with friends

By Clément A |

We booked a last min reservation for 13 people at CopperFox. They were extremely nice and very accommodating. My wife is in a wheelchair and they made every effort to help her. In addition our waitress, Christian, was really nice, thoughtful and helpful. She was present without being too much there, we loved her. Also the food was really good, especially the biscuits and hushpuppies.

Not typical hotel food

By Beth W |

Stayed a couple nights at the hotel. I’m always pleased when I see short menus of both food and drink. This way I know that they’re mindful to maintain the quality and freshness of their ingredients. The draft beer selection had a nice variation. The wines that I saw looked tasty. Got to try “The Last Word” cocktail and had a nice convo with the bartender about gins. Breakfast was also delicious, filling and refreshing. Staff was always smiling and wanting to be helpful. Don’t just walk past this hotel. Their drinks aren’t bottom shelf and their food doesn’t come from a freezer box.

Trust the reviews

By Greg A |

Let’s just get one thing out of the way - this pub is located in the lobby of the Courtyard Marriott. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but it did give me pause as I approached. I am glad that I followed the reviews and not my prejudices. Great staff!! Friendly and attentive. The menu is limited, but covers a nice range of choices. I thought the draft selection was small for a “pub”, but I was very happy with my kolsch choice. I had the Fox Burger, which was perfectly cooked to my medium order. The atmosphere was lively but not obnoxious. Great spot to gather with colleagues or go solo at the bar.

Great Meal and Service

By BiggerPassportPlease |

We didn't want to walk far, so we ended up at the Copper Fox. Turned out to be a great choice. The food was delicious and our server was attentive. Interesting cocktails and nice atmosphere. There are vegan options, too.

Nice burger

By Paul A |

In town for a conference and needed a quick dinner. Found this place close to my hotel and the reviews looked like what I was looking for. Had the calamari fries appetizer, the Fox burger and a beer. All were good... I’d even say the burger was better than good. Nice modern pub atmosphere and exceptional service from Liz! Thanks for a nice dinner!

Surprisingly Better Than Expected

By GBM67 |

We were visiting family in Chicago during Thanksgivng holiday. We decided to have our turkey dinner at the Copper Fox Gastropub. It’s located in the front of the Courtyard by Marriot. Service was excellent. The earth-toned space with art deco flourishes serves inspired New American dishes. I highly recommend trying this restaurant the next time your n Chicago!

Surpassed expectations

By LauraAHA |

We did not expect much, as hotel restaurants often disappoint. The Copper Fox Gastropub is attached to the Courtyard Marriott. We ate breakfast a couple of times, lunch once, and had drinks there late one evening. Every meal was better than we hoped, and everything was delicious. The service was excellent.

Good food and drinks. Lovely atmosphere.

By Sunshine_titan |

No wait for dinner on a Sunday which was nice. Really good atmosphere. Enjoyed the skirt steak and fries. Decent drink. No bread, rolls, chips etc. for the table, which I thought was strange. Would return for another meal though.

But the service was good…

By EC Sports Management |

Unfortunately, we were disappointed by our experience at Copper Fox. The highlight - the service. Attentive but not pushy. We were waiting for a friend who ended up not making it. He was patient, checking in occasionally and made sure we were still doing well. The food is where things went sideways. I had the seven-layer chicken salad. The chicken tasted & looked canned. The corn was stale (somehow) & the ranch dressing was bland. My wife had the rosemary chips (lacked flavor) & jalapeño crab hush puppies, somehow missing as any jalapeño flavor. Until the kitchen figures out how to make the flavors match the menu, it’s hard to recommend them.

Visit by the Chef

By MKCjr |

This was a business lunch my wife and I attended with 3 others for a total of 5 in the party. We were seated in the small private dining room and had two servers. Having the ability to close the doors enabled better conversations. Service was attentive including a visit from the executive chef to check on us. Meals included salads, sandwiches and some entrees. Started with some apps as well - muscles, etc. Food quality was good, service was attentive and setting was great.

What a find!!!

By kiwibird63 |

We had walked past the Copper Fox a couple of times during our morning walks in Chicago. We decided to try it for lunch today and we are so glad we did!! Nice atmosphere adjacent to the Courtyard Marriott on Ontario . We decided to sit at the bar and was served by Duggan, the bartender. We went with appetizer plates. Pork belly with grits and bbq sauce, calamari fries and the crispy Brussels. Duggan suggested the #16 biscuits. OMG!!! The flakiest biscuits ever.... do yourself a favor and have a meal at the Copper Fox!

Great food, great service!

By Dana M. |

We found the Copper Fox kind of by accident while in the city for a day. Just off Michigan Avenue on Ontario Street, it's location is terrific. We started with some of their seasonal cocktails, and the mac & cheese (splits easily between two people). Fantastic! Our server, Allie, was wonderful: friendly, helpful about food and drink, and the right amount of attention (not too distant, not hovering, always there when we needed her). Comfortable, lovely setting; perfect for lunch or dinner. We'll be back!

The Fox Burger OMG!

By Conchi Clay Chard |

Stumbled upon this restaurant just by accident and found the best burger my husband and I ever had! The Copper Fox is located just off Michigan Avenue on E. Ontario inside the Courtyard Magnificent Mile. The look is clean, modern and inviting. Wesley, our server, was fantastic, explained the menu in details and made it easy for us (group of 4) to make our selections. I am very particular when it comes to eating out and the "Fox Burger" surprised me. DELISH!!! The prices are reasonable and we really enjoyed the experience.

Basic hotel restaurant fare.

By GerrryS |

Disappointing. Went here for Sunday brunch as the menu looked good. Ordered the "Fried Chicken & Waffles with honey butter, bourbon maple syrup" for $19. Was served chicken tenders and generic syrup. Won't bother returning.

Saturday Brunch

By Feltstretcher |

We had 8 people for brunch. Excellent Morning Fox Burger with Fried Egg and a delicious white barbecue sauce, Daughter had Chicken and Waffles, Bourbon Syrup was very good. We were seated quickly and servers came around appropriately to check on the quality of food. Very nice atmosphere with great music that wasn’t too loud. Easy to find location only a block off of Michigan Avenue and the miracle Mile on Ontario..

The Jelly!

By ALS2081 |

If you want a great breakfast in a semi-quiet street, but near the hustle of Chicago, this is it. All of the menu options were fresh, with healthy options and hearty ones as well. I had the egg white frittata which was satisfying and good. The shocker was the biscuits, as others have mentioned. But.....the jelly.....Homemade! I liked the raspberry so much I called the waiter over to tell him. Then, he brought me strawberry to try too. I normally shy away from carbs and biscuits are not my thing, but I was floored. The prices were decent and the coffee was hot and bold. I have no complaints. My buddy was staying at the hotel and he said his evening meal the night before was surprisingly good for a hotel restaurant.

Excellent food, drink and service!

By b4osage |

We started the meal with jam mules! Delicious house recipe, a must try! We had the smoked Gouda Mac and cheese—Devine! For the main course we had a huge kale and spinach salad with roasted grapes and Vinegarette, a fantastic burger, fantastic steak sandwich, and a porterhouse pork chops with delicious Brussel sprouts! Our waitress was fantastic! We had a issue with one item and it was corrected immediately and we were compensated for the error! Could not have been better! We visited and were not rushed!

Burger was great. Fries were done just right.

By Kerry C |

Little leary ofthe name when a neighboring hotel aent us over, but the food was good and service was as well. Bar is not open for mixed drinks at lunch, but beer amd wine are available.

Bad Bad Bad

By Sara |

When you first walk in, the hostess was playing with her hair. She was twirling it and it was swinging around the whole time. Our waiter was rude. The food took about 45 minutes, and wasn’t worth it. Don’t come.

Do NOT order prime steak sandwich

By Hairytattoo |

The reason I am leaving this good of a review is because of the great customer service. The burger was pretty good too!, but do not order the “prime” steak sandwich . As u can see in the pic. They dice the low quality steak up and give you a very tiny portion and then pile a ton of greens on top of it. The pic shown does not have one bite missing. Again though, they made things right and all was good. Just want to give fare warning so you aren’t surprised with this particular menu item

Good Food, Great Service

By Amy F |

4 of us for dinner on a Sunday night, no reservation needed, comfortable atmosphere, excellent staff, food was so good! my friend said it was the best chicken salad she had ever had. will definitely come again!

Very Nice.

By mike c |

We were in Chicago for just an overnight stay and somebody in our group (of 6) decided we would check out the Copper Fox. Nice atmosphere, prompt, friendly service a decent draught beer selection and REALLY good food. This place is a treat. If you're in Chicago, I highly recommend the Copper Fox.

clever and tasty

By SimplyBob |

Eating at the bar is a treat. Nick was terrific and he suggested a dish called fried avocados that was fabulous. I can't wait to try these at home.

Good food at reasonable price

By 1giginjamaica |

Food and service were great and prices weren’t bad. Kids meals $10 and my girls enjoyed and had a good portion. My steak sandwich was amazing!

Awesome lunch and drinks, get the Biscuits!!!

By We_Travel_A_Lot_2011 |

Good lunch at the Copper Fox Gastropub. Looked on Yelp for a restaurant to have lunch at near our hotel and found this gastropub a short walk away. Upon walking in we thought it was going to be a bit pricy and bugee. We overused the menu and ordered a couple waters. They had some interesting dishes and a Yelp check in offer for the #16 Biscuits. We chose the baked Gouda mac and cheese which came topped with cheddar bread crumbs and a side of habanero hot sauce, and the prime steak sandwich served with house made chips. Both were delicious and a nice spicy kick with the hot sauce on the mac and cheese. After we ate our meal, I inquired about the Biscuits. They apologized and gave us a couple drinks while we waited. The maplewood fox IPA and mimosa went down just right after there meal. The Biscuits arrived and were served hot with honey butter. Well worth the wait as these little bits of heaven melted in your mouth! Thank you for a memorable meal Copper Fox!

Milk and Cookies

By DarkLovelyBoricua |

My littles enjoyed their milk-and-cookies package as part of the American Girl Place package at the Courtyard Hotel! The restaurant was decorated for the holidays and had photo props and a backdrop for photos. It was all very cute! While we didn't actually eat at the restaurant, the items on the menus sounded very good and I would actually go back.

Not Really a Gastropub

By Eric_ski_and_bike |

We were staying in the area and selected the Copper Fox for dinner due to its proximity to our hotel, it's solid ratings, and the fact that I like beer. I should have realized things were off when we found out it was in a hotel, as I don't think I've ever had a good hotel restaurant meal, but I figured this might be the exception, and after I double-checked and saw the ratings were very good in aggregate, my wife and I went in. I was somewhat surprised at first by the limited selection of beers on tap, but picked one that seemed my style. We then ordered the brussel sprout appetizer after asking about the size of the dish, to which the waiter indicated it would be smallish, and come in a small cast-iron skillet. My wife and I then both ordered the fried chicken sandwich, specifying that we wanted the main course to come after the appetizer. The appetizer arrived in a large porcelain bowl, much larger than indicated, and was not particularly tasty, with only a hint of the sherry vinegar mentioned. Maybe a minute after the appetizer hit the table, and after we only had a chance for a bite or two, the fried chicken sandwiches arrived. We were surprised that the chicken was breaded and fried rather than battered and fried, and while the sandwich does have potential, it lacked any acid or heat which would have made it a much better sandwich, instead it ended up just being bland (my wife actually didn't even finish it). We skipped dessert. Maybe it's better for breakfast or lunch, but for dinner, it didn't live up to it's description as a gastropub, having neither decent food nor a good beer list.

Great Dinner Party!

By Jim Friend |

We had a gathering of clients and prospective clients at the Copper Fox this month. Great food, service, and atmosphere. Many thanks to Elaine Teodoro for her help in coordinating the event.

Good Beer & Upscale Pub Food

By lamb0176 |

First off, our bartender Kirby made this a great experience. We stopped by to try some local craft beers since it was rated highly for them in the magnificent mile area. We were not disappointed. For a snack, we went with the deviled eggs which were alright/fair and the Brussels sprouts which were awesome. Many of the dishes involve jalepeños and they do them very well; the Brussels had candied jalepeños that were nicely sweet and not too spicy.

Corporate Dinner

By Lavonia Swanson |

I arranged a corporate dinner for 20 people at another restaurant and was informed 3 days prior to the dinner the restaurant was closing permanently. In my scramble to find another restaurant to accommodate my dinner guests, I came across the Copper Fox Gastropub. Elaine Teodoro saved the day and arranged dinner at Copper Fox for my guests. The guests were very impressed with the delicious food and impeccable service from the waitstaff. I was impressed with the quick responses and level attention I received while organizing the dinner. I will certainly be using Copper Fox for future corporate dinners.

Lovely food

By cookie34 |

Had brunch and breakfast here, lots of choice, and do lovely cocktails at the bar. Staff were very friendly.

Hotel bar food!

By DJ82184 |

The restaurant had a stale food smell when you walk in, a turn off! Otherwise I had the shrimp and crab hoagie which wasn’t too bad. Probably will never return though.

Good pre theatre dinner.

By Scot L |

3 of us had a nice al fresco dinner. The salads were very good and the biscuits were great. The shrimp and crab roll was very good. The steak sandwich was not. The risotto entree was also good, and was a lot to eat.

Unique type of food

By Apucciarelli |

I don’t think I have seen anywhere else other than this restaurant especially with Gouda cheese. It was so good and I will definitely come back to try other options on the menu.

Pleasantly Surprised- Good Food & Attentive Server

By Win C |

Take advantage of coming here during happy hour which I think is 3:30-6:30 pm. Prices are $5 for a handful of appetizers and mules and draft beers. We tried the rosemary chips, meat and cheese platter, calamari and the Great Lakes Lager. Meat and cheese platter was the only disappointment because the cheese was brie and the garlic points were soggy. The other two appetizers were good. We also ordered the steak frites with truffle fries- my daughter’s version was good, but my plate was fatty and unseasoned. Pricing for the steak frites was $28 which is standard for this area. Our server was attentive but a little on the quiet side. We decided to come here when Gino’s East had a wait that extended to outside the restaurant. Give this place a try if you’re in the Streeterville area.

Excellent Gastropub!

By ED B |

We enjoyed our meal and recommended it to some family before we had finished our meal. Quality of food and service was exceptional! We will be back when we are back in town.

Great food, good price

By Erik |

This was right across from our hotel, so it's location was great. The Gulf Shrimp and Lump Crab Roll sandwich was delicious as were the calamari fries. The service was great, although, there did seem to be a bit of disappointment on our server's face when I ordered a Mich Ultra. What can I say? I'm a simple man with simple tastes. The other 3 people in our party really enjoyed their food as well (Pan Roasted Salmon, Veggie Risotto and Quinoa Black Bean Burger).

Great for cocktails!

By Melissa H |

On a quick trip to Chicago this holiday season, my husband and I stopped here with a few friends to kick off our evening on the town. It was immediately a warm and cozy atmosphere...looking festive for the holidays! We all wanted crafty cocktails, and we were impressed with the options and recommendations offered by an outgoing gal named Sylvie who was helping us! Most of the group ordered Old Fashions, while I had the Nice Pear...all beautifully served and tasty to boot. The great service and yummy drinks set our night off on the right foot, for sure. Thanks Sylvie and Copper Fox for a great visit!

Tasty and diverse

Saw the reviews and thought this place would fit the bill for a tasty dinner visiting my college son. Right I was! Great bar and comfortable dining room, friendly and prompt service. Good selection of local draft beers and fun menu. The Lump Crab Hushpuppies were delicious and decent portion! I should not have had the Mac & Cheese app (simply perfect!!) because I could not finish half of the fantastic Vegetable Risotto and was hopping in a plane so no doggy-bag! We will definitely be back next visit to Chicago.

Copper Fox hidden gem

We had a wonderful meal tonight at the Copper Fox. We enjoyed the nachos (house made potato chips with melted Gouda cheese, pico de gallo) freshest side salad I have had lately and a juicy fresh hamburger. Everything was prepared perfectly. The host and hostess working the tables and bar, were by themselves and were lovely. They were knowledgeable about the menu, very personable and prompt with delivery of the meals. We will dine here again.

Comfortable place with decent food

I dropped by the Copper Fox for supper. It is located in the Courtyard Marriott. Food selection was good and I appreciated the wine list (they had a pretty tasty albarino). Service was ok--not bad but not great.

Superior Food

This restaurant is on the first floor of a Courtyard Marriott (165 E Ontario). Nice downtown location. Great food and service. For breakfast the Avocado Toast and Eggs are wonderful. Lunch was especially interesting. Crispy Brussel Sprouts served in an iron Skillet. The presentation of a 7 layer salad (see photo) comes in a see-through cup and the waiter tips it over and onto your plate. Perfect combination of ingredient and I would highly recommend it. My wife stays at this hotel often and says all the other food is equally as good as what I experienced.

Nice Fresco Dining

Very good service and good food too. I had a porterhouse pork chop with brussel sprouts. Located adjacent to Marriott Courtyard but are separate.

Ok for a decent craft beer

By TrailBiker_MD |

Stopped in here one evening while on a business trip. Had one of the local drafts that was pretty decent, I think it was called Brown Nose from a brewery a mile away. They had a few Amber Ales and an IPA on tap as well. Nice selection of hard liquor, including Balvienie Whiskey, my favorite. The one thing I didnt like was their calamari fries - it was extremely salty. Couldn't finish it. This was the only thing I had off the menu to eat so can't speak for the rest of their menu. The staff was extremely nice and helpful and the atmosphere was great. So a decent place to stop in for a beer.

Good for a quiet family dinner or breakfast

By TenaliRama |

We dined at the Copper Fox on multiple occasions. The dinner was memorable as we did so right before our departure the next day. We got a nice big table to ourselves. Service was quick and the food options were enticing. Try the calamari fries, brussel sprouts, fried avocado, The Fox burger and the herb roasted chicken... We made room for dessert - nothing spectacular... just ice cream.

Cold Beer and good food

By Jason D |

This place was a little on the busy side, but I was well taken care of. The beer is nice and cold. The food is good, but a bit pricey. The steak was cooked perfectly, again, a bit pricey. Definitely try the calamari fries. Would have gave 5 stars if price would have been slightly lower.

Nice Atmosphere and Good Service

Stopped for a drink and a appetizer. Food was good and drinks very reasonable priced. Nice beers on tap. Worth stopping by for a pint or two.

Stay away, don't believe this TripAdvisor rating

By Giacomojd |

When a friend brought up the Copper Fox Gastropub, I checked TripAdvisor, saw the rating and booked a table. This restaurant was extremely disappointing. All four of us met separately and waited a very long time for our drinks. The "Bartender" did her best but had no assistance for a Saturday night. As we were seated, a group of tourists were given a wait time of 30-40 minutes. There were open tables so this place is not a serious restaurant. We ordered another round of drinks that took a very long time. Two of us ordered the salmon with roasted potatoes. The potatoes were frozen and then replaced with.......French fries. If this was a cheap, simple place it was bad enough but with a bill of $300 for the four of us, a rip off.

Nice place, not crowded.

Went there in October, the space is nice, it is not very crowded. They accomodated a party of 8 without any waiting time. Food was good, the service a little slow. Overall a great time.

Wonderful evening with a group of 12

Myself and my group absolutely loved our evening at Copper Fox! Dominic was so helpful in planning our event, as well as made himself present that evening to speak to me and my guests. The food was delectable and our service was outstanding. I will absolutely use CF again for any work events, and plan to bring my husband there soon! I will always make a CF recommendation for friends coming to town looking for a fun, trendy and delicious restaurant to try.

Great casual restaurant

The Copper Fox is connected to the Marriott Courtyard Hotel but also has a separate street entrance on Ontario, just off of Michigan Ave. The restaurant is conveniently bookable online. The menu was a mix of tasty appetizers, sandwiches, salads and entrees. The menu wasn't huge but seemed varied enough for a wide range of tastes. We had the calamari fries and the lump crab hushpuppies as appetizers and both were delicious. The burger and chicken sandwich were both great too. Fries and rosemary potato chips were great sides. The restaurant has a full bar. Wait staff were friendly and prompt. Good casual option in an area full of hotels, restaurants and shopping.
