Fantastic Tapas spot! Chefs meat and cheese plate was on point. Paella is a must try. Desserts were out of this world

My husband and I really enjoyed celebrating his birthday here. The service was great and the food was amazing. They were also very accommodating when we informed them of allergies at the table. Drinks were awesome. My only concern or recommendation is to come prepared to spend at least $120-$150 for 1-3 drinks and 3-4 tapas. The menu is a little pricy, but welcome to San Francisco!

Coqueta has a wonderfully fun, warm environment-- it's the perfect date night or night out with friends. It's cocktails are wonderful (they are known for their gin-based drinks) and every dish I've tried has been spectacular. This last time we visited we asked our server for his recommendations in case we were missing anything in our usual selection; he recommended the chef special trio of sausages that we all amazing-- and we ordered another meat dish that came with a sweet red pepper sauce that we wish we'd purchased! Highly recommend.

We had lunch here a couple of times during our recent stay and it was our favourite. The food and service was excellent. Would highly recommend. The food was so tasty and just the right portion sizes for us. Will definitely be our first stop on our next San Francisco trip!

This Wrestaurant had so much going for it the food was absolutely Exquisite we tried things we have never eaten before the service was very good although at times I felt like they were gaps in between chances to order. The food was Simply Delicious perfectly prepared beautifully presented. Everything was so aesthetic It Was a very sensual meal Like most restaurants I'm sure here in San Francisco your budget needs to be around $80 pp. We had an amazing night Thank you

Really nice atmosphere for a relaxing lunch. The food was tasty and they pour a nice glass of wine which I always appreciate. My husband loved his cocktail and even had two. The service was really great, but my only comment would be on the host (maybe a manager). He made it clear that seating people was clearly beneath his station and that he was doing us quite the favor, albeit with great irritation. He asked us if we had a reservation as he passed us on his way outside. We assumed replying yes would afford us his attention, but instead he just kept walking and left us just standing at the bar where they ignored us as well. There were no customers outside and only two tables inside so it was unclear where he was going and if we were to seat ourselves. It was all quite funny, but if I didn't just live down the road and had made a real effort to dine here, it would have been less enjoyable.

Coqueta is delightful. Stopped by for lunch while walking around the Embarcadero and was thrilled to find a wonderful ambiance, fun and friendly service and great food! We tried meats, cheeses, skewers and tapas and left very satisfied with everything. Good drinks from the bartender too. We’ll be back!

Great location right on the bay, dining room has an eclectic vibe. Service awesome. The food was really really delicious. Good place to go if you're visiting San Francisco and if you live here, great place to take your out-of-town guests.

This review is for Coqueta in Yountville . As the menu is overwhelming with so many excellent choices, we decided to put ourselves in the hands of Oscar, our server. We gave him a little direction and he provided us with a wonderful feast. There were seven of us so we did get to try quite a few items; all great. Oscar also educated us on the different types of sherries; for an aperitif, the main course or dessert. We were having such a good time we stayed for a little over 3 hours. Are hats off to Michael Chiarello and our server Oscar. Can't wait to take other friends there.

Amazing crisoy paella. Really complex and nuanced. Have never had better outside of Spain. Only negative was we could only get seats outside, and it was chilly.

Made a last minute reservation at the chef’s counter on a Saturday and was glad to have been accommodated. You can see all the actions from these seats, which is fun to watch. The waiter was very friendly, as well as the servers and the staff behind the counter. Ordered paella, boquerones, gambas negras, pulpo a la parilla, patatas bravas, salmon ahumado and biscocho arroz con leche. Everything was flavorful, they satisfy cravings for tapas or Spanish food.

I’m not a huge fan of tapas style restaurants, but man, this place has made me change my mind. This place boasts great cocktails, good food, over the top service (kudos to Juliana), and a pretty cool ambiance. Whether a date night, family night or group outing (there was a party of 20+ when we arrived), it’s a good fit for anyone’s needs. Juliana was our server, and she was delightful, friendly, and super attentive; her team made sure there was never a dirty plate on the table. She helped us make some decisions when ordering and we were happy with ALL the items that landed in our tummies. I would totally come back. Note – restaurant is at the pier so parking can be a challenge; just take an uber.

Been trying to get in last few trips... finally did and it was terrific... everything was fantastic from staff to food!

This place is amazing. Wonderful service and great food. It's loud in there so do not o in expecting it to be quiet, the atmosphere is live! Hosted our party of 8 with no issues. Will be coming back

I’ve walked by here so many times, always buzzy so I finally tried. I sat up at the bar which gives a fab view out to the Bay & great entertainment from the 2 barmen knocking out amazing looking cocktails. I had a Barca,(gin cocktail) hit the spot perfectly. It’s so hard to choose just 3 Tapas off a lovely & interesting menu, so I chose 4, Date, Olives, Patatas Bravas & Gambas Negras which were all delicious but the prawns definitely were the winner for me. I also had a glass of white wine the barman recommended would pair with the prawns & it did perfectly. I would love to go back with a group so I can try more. What a joy, loved it.

Food, wine, service and atmosphere were all excellent. Waiter was very helpful. Reservation staff was courteous and helpful when I had to change my original date and time twice.

Spent a lot of money on several tapas dishes, which was just over priced and lacking. I’d skip this one unless you truly just want a bite to eat

By far this was the best meal we had on our California holiday!Husband spotted restaurant online and we were delighted by everything!Decor really attractive, good lively atmosphere but not too loud that you couldn't have a conversation without shouting. All the courses were delicious and presented well. The staff were great-friendly, helpful and efficient. We especially enjoyed the Widower's Kiss cocktail which we haven't had any where else.Pity it's a bit far from the UK!Would strongly recommend.

My wife and I came here last nightnight. Service was great. Food was excellent - the rib eye was amazing. Excellent wine. I've been there four times I believe and they've always been great across the board.

We stayed here for dinner during our honeymoon in San Francisco. We weren't very hungry, we just got a few bites. Despite this, the bill turned out to be quite high. Great choice of wines and cocktails, the service was attentive and friendly. Overall a positive experience, although prices are definitely above average.

This is my third time dining at Coqueta. They serve innovative tapas in a cozy dining room on the embarcadero. The wine list is international and extensive with selections in all price ranges. The tapas includes cheeses, meats, and vegetarian options (we had a vegetarian dining with us this time). Our server was knowledgeable, made great recommendations, and provided outstanding service. You cannot go wrong at Coqueta!

My husband and I stumbled upon this gem while visiting the Bay Area and highly recommend for foodies who appreciate authentic Spanish cuisine. During our dining experience we were transported in time to the Costa Brava of Cataluna- the atmosphere, service, food and wine were excellent. Highly recommend and plan ahead with reservations to fully enjoy the experience.

The service was second to none. The recommendations made by the wait staff were very good. The paella was delicious as was the red Sangia. This was our 1st time eating at Coqueta and will definitely be back when we’re back here in San Francisco.

This is one of San Francisco's places not to be missed. Great food, wine and service. Best when you can sit at the kitchen counter.

The place is always packed but they do their best to accommodate you and your party. On this occasion we sat at the bar and had a selection of cured meats and cheese and also ordered the *“Gaucho” Bistec wood grilled bone-in 32oz natural beef ribeye with aromatic Moorish pepper that serves 2-4 for $88 but between 2 of us we polished it off. Want to try the paella next time. The sides were disappointing so you can pass on those.

We were pleased to be seated after a brief wait. It’s difficult for the restaurant to manage time when there are many seatings. They were apologetic. Service is professional. Food was not bad and the cocktails looked most interesting. Sadly the paella was underwhelming. I didn’t enjoy foods on skewers. Even the dessert? It’s for a youngish crowd.

We experience this restaurant for the second time and it was great! The service is very good, the food and the drinks are splendid and the atmosphere fantastic! I highly recommend thjs place as a "must go" in San Francisco!

This is not pure spanish, whatever that may be, but it is very good indeed. Great friendly service. Not cheap but you know that. Had great meal with great interaction with staff. Read the point reviews perhaps sometimes we see a reflection of ourselves.

Our drinks as usual were great. The Gin and Tonic is always so beautiful and refreshing. I want to give a big thank you to our server who help us carve out the most beautiful and perfect meal from the menu. He had great recommendations and the coursed the meal out beautifully. He is really a gem and made our experience wonderful. We will be back

Had a wonderful dinner here. Atmosphere was lively. Food was delicious. Service was very attentive. Hengky was a great server how helped us order the right amount of food and variety. We stopped in to make the reservation while they were closed and they were very nice and helpful. During warmer months it would be fabulous to sit outside. Would definitely recommend this gem!

All really great. Every dish was tasty. Don’t appreciate the request for at least 100 characters and will never abide again.

After a long day of sampling every cheese at the Fancy Food Show we went to have a dinner that we were not to excited about. As soon as we arrived we were transported into the energetic ambience of a seaside Spanish village. All the little bites were unique and delicious. Creative cocktails were so beautiful you don’t want to drink them but just look at them! Homemade lemonade for those who don’t have alcohol was fantastic. Still dreaming about this place!

Went for a business/friend lunch and had a great time. Low key, good atmosphere with a beautiful interior, Coqueta was somewhere I would definitely go back to.

Good atmosphere, fine tapas. Definitely a good place to come with friends or the family. Creative food.

Our waiter was fantastic. He recommended the pluma and it was the highlight of the meal. If available seasonably, pair it with the mushroom dish.

Coqueta is a gem on pier 5. Tapas are wonderful and the wine selection is fantastic. Reservations recommended.

We were enjoying the sunshine and the atmosphere of the Embarcadero and happened upon this location. What a hidden treasure. Tapas galore but many other alternatives for a late afternoon snack. You need to chance this place a few steps from the marketplace. Get there on Pier 5

Great food, great service, great atmosphere (if you stay away though from the last table before the restroom and service area). Paella excellent!

My wife and I are frequent travelers to Spain; we've been 3 times in the past 6 years, for 3 weeks each time. We LOVE Spain, although there are occasional political issues...Coqueta is the closest any restaurant in this country has come to duplicating the Spanish food AND environment of a "tapas bar." I won't go into detail, but every dish was perfect and delicious; my wife and I shared about 10 dishes mostly tapas (tapas are small) and then finished with an incredible pork shoulder dish. No, wait, we "finished" with desserts, a flan AND some chocolate bits. The service was great, our server was attentive to my wife's seafood allergy and so was the kitchen, at times when she (the server) couldn't bring something to the table when it was ready, there was someone else to serve it promptly. We think Coqueta will be a dining experience for every visit to San Francisco...every 6 weeks or so. It's that good it is; Coqueta should NOT be missed. Our server was great, which was remarkable on a Saturday night in an absolutely FULL, BUZZING place.

Lovely Spanish food in a buzzy large room. We sat on high banquettes against one of the walls so could watch the action in the restaurant. We shared a meat platter, croquettes, squid and paella. Every thing was very tasty but the portions fairly small so I could have ordered more.

We, and DOZENS OF OTHERS, had reservations through Open Table at this place during the week between Christmas and New Year's. All of us showed up to find the place CLOSED. A note on the door said "Closed for the holidays." So, why were they taking reservations? HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. We'll never even think of this place again and we'll tell as many San Francisco travelers of this experience and to avoid this waste of time at all costs.

Love sitting at the chef's counter. Very friendly and helpful staff. They will accomodate all dietary restrictions.

Coqueta is near the waterfront of San Francisco. It has an indoor seating and a couple of tables outside as well. It is a Spanish food place serving different tapas. Bear in mind that the food comes in small tasting portions. For me I had to ask for 3 different orders till I felt satisfied. Service was efficient.

I have being to this place several times and love everything about it - the food, the vibe and the location. Nothing beats Michael Chiarello's seafood paella!

I had to travel for work over my birthday so a few friends of mine took me here and the restaurant was amazing. The staff is great and the food was wonderful. Beyond that, they accommodating when my friends wanted to bring in a few birthday treats as well as helping create a memorable birthday for me. I would highly recommend this restaurant based on the food and service - I'll definitely be returning.

The interpretation from chef Michael Chiarello and his chef of cuisine Colton Hays regarding the traditional Spanish tapas are superb!!! Let me rephrase... this is not your traditional tapas place, you're not gonna find the traditional tortilla de papas or any other commonplace. Chell Chiarello brings tapas in another, different direction, the taste is totally different and magical, the mix of flavor was just the right one, not too hard, not too smooth. And if you add a completely different paella Valenciana, with a rice tasting... something new and different, your night will be a very special one. The sangria is like a river of flavor, the wine selection for the sangria is excellent, not the common one where the lemon float and cover everything or the one at Spain with a very hard Tinto wine, here the wine is smooth and is not the main actor, is the secondary one, the one who allows at all the flavor of the food explode in your mouth. And with the sangria, the life looks much better, the covid 19 seems so far away (but the restaurant guys are very conscious regarding use masks and constantly are at 6 feet of you unless you put on your mask). The service is excellent. But the food is superb!! Prices are ok for a Michelin Restaurant in San Francisco, overall the experience was highly recommendable.

Really warm atmosphere in an awesome spot. Very good, simple food. Good wine list. We will certainly come back

We went for lunch. I cannot recommend the sangria enough. It was so delicious. We had several appetizers while waiting for the paella to cook. Everything was excellent, including the service.

We sat at the chef bar. Had some ham and cheese and a few pinxtos (pronounces pinchos) to start. Had a bottle of nice rioja. Our server was attentive and helpful with food selection. We had a few hot and cold tapas. The duck and pork meatballs were delicious. Everything was great. Very nice atmosphere. Highly recommend

Loved this place right on the water with high ceiling and great vibe. The tapas were delicious and very creative. Modern cuisine which captures the Spanish spirit. Definitely a restaurant to go back to.

Great food, atmosphere and service. Went to Coqueta after a long day of errands and shopping in SF during the holidays. Great atmosphere -- busy but not too loud. Very festive.

Beautifully rustic interior and cleverly plated tapas. Loved the croquetas de pollo, the steak and the paella.

meal was delicious. we made a reservation online probably 1 week before we wanted to eat here. we had a couple of cured meats, the calamari dish, and patatas bravas, with cheesecake for dessert. i also had a delicious glass of wine. service was great, everyone was very friendly and attentive.

Website said they were open until 10pm. I hustled down there and arrived at 9:08 and asked for a table but they wouldnt feed me.

There were four people in our group and we needed a little help deciding what to order and the server was very helpful. We enjoyed all of the dishes and would enjoy returning to try other dishes.

The location and atmosphere of this place is really nice, and the service is excellent. While we liked the food, it didn't really have that wow factor that I hope for when finding new places.

Fabulous experience. Stunning interior and ambience. Excellent service. Food was beautifully presented and completely delicious.

the gaucho bistec was one of the best pieces of meat ive ever had. service was great. dessert amazing.. Drinks BEAUTIFUL. would definitely go again.

The food and service is excellent. Reservations are optimal, as it has a small indoor seating area. I haven't had the chance to dine outside, but they do provide the option (outdoor heaters are provided during wintertime). The ambiance is especially nice during the slower times. For diners who prefer a quieter environment, please be aware that the volume can elevate when indoor seating is filled.

We enjoyed the paella and sangria! Location was convenient in the Embarcadero area. Reservation recommended, although they have a patio area available for walkins.

I would highly suggest this restaurant for friends or couples. Decent prices for it being a fancy restaurant in San Francisco (tapas range from $ 6-15) with a variety of flavors. The bikini and brussel sprouts is a must x 4.

Highly recommend. Sharing plates is fun! Food was terrific. Great vibe. Did not feel rushed even though they were packed.

My husband and I had our first date here and we have been back multiple times. The food is excellent and the service is phenomenal. It’s one of our favorite restaurants in the city.

FOOD ALLERGY NEGLIGENCE: DO NOT VISIT THIS RESTAURANT IF YOU HAVE FOOD ALLERGIES. I have a serious egg allergy and explicitly stated this to the waiter who served the table. I asked if the homemade date ice cream had egg, they said no. I asked that he double check with the kitchen, still declined this had egg. I trusted and place an order, lucky for me, my throat closed up immediately after. Either the waiter deliberately lied to me, or the kitchen did not care enough to take the allergy seriously. I've contacted higher up numbers of times with no follow up. The manager Christopher Rivera has promised to call me 3 times now with no follow up. All I've heard back from the higher up is that "they take food allergies very seriously" - so if this is correct, can you explain why I almost got admitted to the hospital and threw up in the Uber on my way home with no follow up from the team ?

The food is delicious, specially the wood oven portion of the menu. Good cocktails and service is prompt and efficient.

We were here for a business meeting over dinner. Lovely ambience with a vibrant crowd, warm service, seaside views and lovely food.

This place is so popular I didnt get a table for food but had an amazing cocktail at the bar. Phenomenal!

Really fantastic night. Beautiful restaurant, packed but not too loud, inventive menu, delicious cocktails. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Would recommend to anyone.

Food meh. The vegetarian dishes had more flavor than the meat...except the amazing pork! The cocktails were great and I would highly recommend coming here for happy hour and sitting outside if it is nice.

We celebrated my husband’s birthday here after 355 days of pandemic lockdown and eating virtually every meal at home. We’ve both received our 2nd vaccination and we sat on the breezy patio on a sparkling day in the city. We kept our masks on whenever the wait staff approached the table, and we all felt quite safe. We ordered the seafood paella immediately because it has a 30-40 minute wait time; then we studied the menu a bit more, and ordered sangria along with Jamon Iberico, kale salad, Iberian cheeses and calamari rings. Each tapas choice is artfully arranged on a wooden plank or rustic plate, and all were delightful. We enjoyed watching the parade of other dishes that waiters were delivering to other tables. Just as we finished the tapas, the gorgeous paella pan was delivered hot off the grill and we dug in to savor the shrimp, clams, mussels, ham and the rice with the perfect crusty soccorat on the bottom. In fact, we couldn’t finish all the rice since we had indulged in so many tapas. For dessert we chose churros and a decadently rich chocolate torte. It was a very satisfying experience, and a great way to celebrate a major birthday as well as the first restaurant meal in nearly a year.

Really good food and service. Everything was tasty. Had some baby pig which was on the pricey side but it was so good, I can't really complain. Octopus cooked perfectly with tender meat and smokey edges. Wine list was extensive and well priced. Service was outstanding - friendly and knowledgeable. Good vibe to the place, would like to go back and try different things from the menu.

Interesting tapas... Deviled eggs, octopus, cheeses stood out. Great rustic ambiance. Being by the water a plus

It is a fun, festive atmosphere with creative drinks and delicious food!! Our waitress was unbelievable - was able to select the perfect drinks and dishes to order! The only problem is you really need to book those reservations in advance!!

Our server Johnny M really simplified the menu for us by telling us the staff favorites v. the public favorites. We loved everything!

A friend recommended Coqueta for drinks and dinner. Hadn’t been during many prior visits to SF. Dinner for two on Sunday evening exceeded our expectations — including attentive but not overbearing service, delicious appetizers, and entrees. Appetizers included delicious grilled octopus and “bikini” eggplant. Generous portions easy to share. Our friendly server recommended the pork shoulder entree and we were glad he did. Two entrees would have been excessive following the appetizers. Intend to return on future visits and will recommend to others planning a visit to SF.

Refreshing place to go. Loved the food and atmoshphere. We had the cured meat platter and then the paella. All very tasty, and well presented. Staff were lovely. Would defintely go back.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would!!! Eating at this place was part of a surprise trip from TX to San Francisco, all planned by my husband. The total experience was exquisite!!! My husband set it up so that we had chef's view and it was amazing! I highly recommend this restaurant!!!

Interesting, creative, fabulous food and drinks, with very attentive service. Some of the dishes are a little pricey (but delicious!), just be aware when you are ordering.

We were keen to eat at Coqueta but left it too late to book an inside table. We reserved a table on the patio and were lucky with the weather. The food was delicious and the cocktails were good too

Food is very good. Customer service is great. Nice place to people see. I would go back. Their patatas bravas were amazing. My husband ordered seafood and was very content. I highly recommend this restaurant.

It had been several years since my wife and I first enjoyed Coqueta and we were recently in SF for a day and decided to revisit for dinner. It remains a great place to enjoy some tasty tapas style food and the sangria was excellent as well.

Had an awesome Birthday lunch for my daughter's 29th. Service was great and food is very delicious. Will definitely come back again.

We love this place! The small plates are excellent... favs are the charcuterie, meatballs, and kale salad. The Coqueta gin and tonic is awesome! Love the flowers and cool ice cube. The wine selection is great, too. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Came for the drinks (I had beer), and loved everything about this. Wish we would have ordered the steak, but we had a vegetarian in our group, so we stayed in that lane. The beer was great, the drinks were great, the food was fine, and I would be happy to come here again. Not cheap, but really great.

Can't beat excellent food or service but pretty crowded in atmosphere. It seems that is the direction the industry is going.

Antonio did a great job!! His recommendations were all turned out excellent, service was outstanding. Had a total blast! I’m glad he was the one who served us.

Superb food all the way. Our waiter did an excellent job curating with spot on recommendations. The whole experience was pitch perfect from seating, ambiance, food and service.

We happened upon Coqueta for lunch while in the City. What a find! The food is very unique. We ordered several tapas. Turkey, Duck, Meatballs with Cherry Salsa. Smoked Salmon with Truffel Honey on a crispy “toast” of sorts, I don’t remember the exact ingredients but everything we ordered was very creative and quite good! Reservations are a good idea. Can’t wait to go back

Delicious food, delicious drinks, beautiful atmosphere. Accommodating staff adjusted serving sizes for our large party. Lovely evening.

This is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is outstanding and the service is super. Darnel always makes every visit special even if she isn’t our waitress. Look forward to our next visit!

Make sure to make reservations for this little gem because it is soooo worth it!! Great vibe in this warm and inviting venue. Start off with one of their awesome cocktails and work your way to a delicious charcuterie board. We tried several of their small plates and then finished with a paella. Everything was delicious and our server was very helpful directing us on gluten free options on their menu, as one of the people in our party is celiac. Highly recommend Coqueta!!

Really enjoyable evening. The food was exceptionally delicious. Our waiter was friendly and fun, very knowledgeable about the food, and took the time to help us make great selections.

The food we had was enjoyable, it wasn't spectacular but was nice and recommendable. The server we had was probably the worst server I had in years, just a real $#C@&(!. He really detracted from our dining experience. We've eaten here a couple of times before and if the service is good, the food is bad, or something is wrong. This place just can't seem to tick all the boxes at once for us. This last visit the food was four star and the service was two star. I won't return, there are a lot of better options closeby.

We were in San Fran for only two nights and were so glad we chose this restaurant! If you can, and the weather suits, ask for an outside patio table! The view of the Bay and the Bridge is great. There is a cool outdoor bar as well. The food and ambiance were wonderful! Like any good tapas restaurant, you need to try lots of different entrees together. One hearty recommendation is the Black Paella---it was terrific and easily fed 4 people.

The location is just perfect! Very nice restaurant with a small bar if you just want to stop by for a drink. The selection of tapas is limited, but all very tasty. You feel completely at home.

Gourmet! Patas Bravas cooked over wood fire are smokey and beyond beyond. The grilled octopus also is cooked on the woodfired grill and has to be experienced, can't be described. The eggplant sandwiches are another experience. The lamb meatballs are also great. The service is a bit wacky. They apparently lost the order of one of the dishes, whereas a different order we had placed showed up in 30 seconds (probably ordered by another table?). This was rectified by the missing order being delivered and comped.

Ok , we a affluent couple had a great dinner but my god it was well priced for what you got. I spent time i Spain and to call i tapas at that outcome is stretched. Sorry to say.

We love coming here during warm days and sitting outside. Their tapas and drinks are fantastic and we love that they allow dogs in the outdoor sitting area.

We were on the wait list for the chiefs table however were notified upon arrival they were over committed. We sat in the outside bar area and had an amazing time. The atmosphere was loud however not over whelming. Food was amazing and reminded us of our anniversary trip to Spain.

Coqueta had an excellent vibe with great food and great drinks that make you want to dry everything on the menu.

First time here and was impressed and I will definitely be back to eat more off the menu! Love this place

Tapas and small plates are the best here. Very interesting flavors and each dish has something special to remember. Even the special which was a tomato salad had a wonderful dressing that we both thought was terrific. Would definitely return!

Hubbie and I had a great time for an early dinner. Lots of small plates were ordered - the shrimp and mushrooms were delicious! He had a pink rose and I ordered a cocktail - mohito-ish - very good. Service was outstanding. Will be back for sure.

This is absolutely one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. We visited from the east coast and have NYC and NJ food experience, and our local SF friend recommended it to us. The service is wonderful, extremely attentive and warm. The food is truly outstanding. Every single plate we had blew us away with the flavor and presentation, to the point we ordered almost everything a second time around!! Truly money well spent for great food and great service. Would highly recommend!!

Reasonably priced restaurant with great ambience and excellent service. Our server Nikolas was super helpful and made our kids very comfortable in trying new dishes like the goat cheese bikini which was creamy and delicious.

It was a Windy night at Embarcadero at the time if our dinner. We booked a table in advance and asked for standard table and not outdoor setting . However, when we arrived we were offered a table outdoors in the chilly 🥶 night . I asked to be moved inside but there was no table available for our reservation. So ,we were offered a temporary table outside . It was a very chilly night but they got hitters to warm you up boy still not very comfortable sitting since there are metal chairs without the cushion and metal tables placed on the pavement .so it feels like you are sitting at the backyard if some kind and not at the Michelin star restaurant. No place setting , no table cloth . Feels kind of too casual for the place where people spend $250-$300 for dinner . However, after we ordered a few martinis 🍸 and ordered a food we got cozier and warmed up and decided to stay at this table and not to be moved inside. Our waiter Marco was a very attentive, friend, nice and accommodating .After a few martinis 🍸 we ordered a bottle of a fruitful Zin wine 🍷, a plate of grilled octopus, warm olives 🫒, beets & goat cheese salad , bread & olive oil , honey glazed grilled pork shoulder and grilled trumpet mushrooms 🍄 . For dessert we had cream Catalan which could be better if it was prepared fresh but this one was brought from the fridge . The food was delicious and beautifully presented in the wooden trays. However, the portions are on the small side even considering it’s a tapas place . Even in F Spain where we were number of times tapas are larger and mush cheaper . The service was attentive but not intrusive .

Great food and atmosphere. Set up best for sharing which also allows you to try lots of different dishes.

We looked around the market at the ferry terminal and were disappointed with the long lines for restaurants. Just by walking an extra two minutes we reached this lovely tapas bar with a great view of the bay and were seated immediately. Nice staff, great cocktails and good food

Greatly exaggerated prices for minimal portions, several wrong dishes received. The “assorted cured meat selection platter” : 10 slices of sausage (1.5 cm diameter, 1 mm thick, Max 15-20g), 2 types, and 3 shells of serrano (Max 30g) and for that one dares to ask 35$ (without tax and tip). In addition, an additional 5% is charged as standard to pay for the social security of staff! I still think that the employer should pay his staff sufficiently so that this is not recovered from the customer. The same goes for the tip , which is considered acquired , even if the service is very mediocre : first a non-ordered paella dish is brought , the ordered ham croquettes turned out chicken croquettes . In short: a lot of money for little food. In itself, the dishes were OK in taste, but still the feeling of a bit of a rip-off.

Coqueta is undoubtedly a popular restaurant - a must-try at least once. As of May 2021, the restaurant was almost full and with a 40-minute wait time as a walk-in. Reservations were scarce online. The food is delicious; the service is good as well. Coqueta is not your everyday restaurant because it is not only delicious but also pricey for daily meals. However, consider it is S.F. and a good restaurant in a tourist area on a holiday weekend. To give you an idea - We had the Paella, and if you are hungry, it will be enough for two. We also had three drinks, one tapas dish, and one dessert for $129. In my opinion, it is not bad for a special occasion, but every traveler visits under different circumstances. The only thing I was fond of was the unisex restrooms. They could use a cleaning a couple of times a day. And I am not sure the ladies appreciate these restrooms.

The tapas are a great way to enjoy several varieties of flavors. Staff are extremely attentive and the ambiance is so remarkable!

The wait staff was excellent - thanks Antonio! All the food was delicious and presented beautifully! Thanks for a wonderful experience. We will be back!

I can't say anything except to run the menu. Drinks are artfully created, and the food is top notch.

We joined a group of friends the day after our wedding for a wind down meal. Our experience was literally perfection. I’ve worked in food and beverage over 20 years and have never seen or known a server so masterful. The evening flowed perfectly. The food was amazing! Everything was beautiful!!! Love love love.

Good food and excellent service. We shared a summer salad special, tapas and paella, they’re all scrumptious! Casual and vibrant atmosphere is perfect to end wine tasting in Napa Valley.

Memorable location on the pier with a really interesting dining room. We would recommend the Captain’s Table, which is a wide bar with a nice view. There is a very wide selection of small plates and some unusual combinations, so a great place for tapas.

Every time I've been here the food and service has been amazing. Try the Pluma (grilled pork shoulder), grilled octopus, smoked salmon, coqueta de pollo (chicharrones crusted chicken). You will not be disappointed! My go-to spot in SF.

Terrible food!!! Nothing close to Spanish food and expensive for the food it is offered! We ordered many plates and no one was very good.

This restaurant came highly recommended. We arrived and were immediately seated. We sat outside closest to the water. The atmosphere was modern and buzzing. The service was good as was the food. We had tapas so that we could try many dishes. For dessert we had the churros with chocolate sauce and raspberry powder. Very tasty. The double expressos were just okay and on the small side. Each outside table had an electric heater, that was undersized. All-in-all it was a good meal and look forward to returning and trying additional items.

Great views and vibes. This is a wonderful contemporary dining place - terrific food, good service, lively and noisy! We organised a banquet and all the dishes were very prepared and cooked. The highlight was surprisingly the vegetarian paella!

Cold yet sunny day to enjoy their bayside patio. Service was impeccable - friendly, knowledgeable, efficient. We started with a beer and sangria - my husband immediately regretted not ordering this tasty, not too sweet sangria with it's whimsical rosemary sprig. Three heads-on prawns soothed his soul: sweet & tender with a not spicy chile sauce, which he soaked up with the wood fired toast. Crispy battered tiny purple and white creamy potatoes were served with smoky paprika sauce. yum. The ultimate taste experience arrived in the Bocadillo - sweet toasted brioche with cheese & eggplant & honey- I can't even begin to describe the amazement my mouth felt! We would 100% go again on our next SF visit.

Would highly recommend Coqueta as a destination for great drinks and eats. Staff was very attentive and knowledgeable. Atmosphere outstanding. Will be back next time in San Francisco.

Amazing cocktails. Widowers Kiss soo good. Tapas out of this world. The octopus. The lamb. Bliss. Magnificent. Partner has their signature Gin and Tonic, awesome. Five star all around. Not cheap but then nothing this sensational is.

Very cool restaurant with wood grill. Imaginative takes on Spanish Tapas. "house-made" Serrano was incredible, I thought taste was in between Serrano and Iberico. I travel to Spain a few times per year so very familiar with Tapas. I would have given Excellent rating if the portions was slightly larger as they would be in Spain.

Coqueta is one of the top restaurants in SF! Must eat and eat on the inside if you can get a rez. Food & wine is amazing! I could even say it was better then having dinner in Barcelona!

It is not nice to start cleaning and wrapping the things and turning the chairs… while we are still dining. The food was delicious but expensive.

We love the signature Barca Gin and Tonic! But the service in the bar is not very good. We love the food in the main dining room! And the service in the main dining room is great.

I'd walk past here a few times and thought it was a bar and one that was always full. Nice surprise to see it is in fact one of the best restaurants I've eaten at in SF. Service was exceptional. We tried several tapas plates and finished with rib eye and paella. Food was amazing. Cost with drinks was approx $125 USD a head so not cheap however we ordered a lot and no regrets on the price tag. Only slight negative is it is very cramped in there and not good for an intimate meal that's for sure.

As this was a tapas style spanish restaurant we ordered a number of sharing dish's. This started with three bite size sticks a chorizo one which was as you would expect the chorizo fell apart in the mouth and had a strong flavour The Quails egg had a lovely smooth flavour, mellow but blended perfectly. Great bite. Tortilla spinach had a cheesy aftertaste nice mouthful but again just the tastes you would expect. Next was the meat and cheese board with amazing salted almonds. The tomato sauce had an almost bitter aftertone the manchego was manchego and all the meats weren't exceptional just clean flavours as you would expect The salmon qué fresco was topped with top quality, flavourful salmon and cream cheese with a crispy cracker esque bread Spanish ham egg and chips, prawn, chorizo and egg ;) flavour profile matches perfectly and eating the chilli added LOADS of spice. The croquettes where creamy in the middle crisp outside again as you would expect. To be honest this place is good, all the flavours are strong and as you would expect and how they do taste but for me there was no fair, nothing exceptional, nothing that made you think I am so happy I came here and then when the bill came it actually almost upset me as even without alcohol it was a very expensive meal to just be mediocre. Please don't just read this and thing it is a dig, I think they do what they do well but for me and for that money I expect to see some flair not something I could get in a shop or do myself.

We enjoyed tapas and drinks on a beautiful SF new year's afternoon. Great place to drop in, enjoy the view and transport to a little bit of Espana.

We went to Coqueta twice; once in September for our daughter's birthday and in November for our wedding anniversary. Amazing, they did not disappoint! Before I say anything about the food, I need to say their staff is wonderful. They know the food, they understand Catalan flavors, their service is impeccable and they are very kind!! Thank you so much for making us feel welcome - we're coming back. My husband and I shared the paella, we were happy to sip cocktails and wait for our food.I must say i'm always on the lookout for authentic paella here in San Francisco, after traveling to Spain twice and learning about those distinct flavors, Coqueta surprised me with theirs. Crusty at the bottom, crusty on top, soft in the middle means perfectly cooked. The seafood was flavorful and fresh, not a bland morsel in sight. We finished the entire paellera. We've also had their Crispy Kale salad, the wood grilled octopus and the brioche with goat cheese, roasted eggplant& honey. Also their white and red sangrias are really good and strong! Cannot wait to go back again!

Wonderful meal; had several dishes to share: the plat with cured meats and GREAT cheeses; the grilled octopus, the blackened shrimp and the chicken croquetas. We enjoyed the Tempranillo Ted wine -reserva by the glass. The sangria was great as well. Good and friendly service. Will visit again

We are regulars customers at their SF Embarcadero location! and super FAN of Chef Dominic, he is simply the best :):)

Charming little restaurant right on Pier 5 with to die for views. Service was attentive and overall excellent. The chicken croquettes and the brioche a la plant with roasted eggplant were OUTSTANDING, and I also enjoyed the deconstructed patties bravas. This was a solo dining event for me, and it was a very easy place to do that, sitting at the Chef's Counter. I'll be back next time I'm in town!

Went with two friends. Got some pitchers of drinks, a few tapas, and both paellas. Everything beas good, but the paella was amazing.

we had an impromptu lunch here and couldn't have picked a better spot. service was attentive without being overbearing. cocktails were fresh and innovative. food was earthy and delicious. would highly recommend, either the inside industrial chic dining room, the glass house and bar outside that lends itself to feeling outdoors (without the wind), or one of the sidewalk tables if the weather allows.

Love it here. Staff well trained and provide the best in service. Beautiful fun setting. Cocktails outstanding. Paella a bit overcooked. Rib eye Gaucho was perfection as always

Variety of excellent tapas, excellent ambiance in nice setting near the bay. Very good service. Reasonable prices. Very good desserts.

Loved everything about this place...The food is delicious and different. Our waiter Nicolas was fantastic, and the overall experience was fabulous...

fantastic Catalan food, great views, interesting art and sculptures, reasonable pricing. 2nd visit , its getting better each time

Amazing food, excellent service and out of this world cocktails. Went there for our anniversary and we really enjoyed it

Stylish, yet casual. Wonderful service and great food. Having run out of the branzino on the menu, Coqueta comped a delicious sea bass substitution.

Great variety of tapas and cocktails. Grilled ribeye was perfect. We ordered the sausages, potatoes, albondigas, heirloom tomatoes, octopus, squash and branzino.

No wonder this restaurant is so highly rated! Loved everything about this place ... wonderful food cocktails to die for and impeccable service. Highly recommend.

We went to Coqueta SF in another previous occasion and decided to go to Coqueta Napa and host a prewedding lunch with friends and family who came for our son's wedding in SF. It was great food but the service (for such a big table!) was amazing! Highly recommended but remember to book a table, very popular on weekends!

One of the best meals I've ever had in San Francisco. Started with delicious, photo-worthy cocktails, and then had a great kale salad. We shared the potato chips (don't laugh -- the membrillo vinegar dip was excellent) and then shared the pluma (amazingly tender pork with a chile-honey sauce that is addictive) and the Gaucho beef. (Half of the beef is in our fridge right now because this cut of meat is huge.) The dessert plate was beautiful and I loved that each dessert on it was a different texture: manchego cheesecake pops (they're darling) served with caramel popcorn; just-made warm churros served with a bittersweet chocolate sauce in a cup for dunking and with an intensely flavorful berry powder; and Arroz con leche cake with huckleberries and Arroz con leche ice cream. Really, really good. This was a special occasion but I'm thinking I'm going back here, having a cocktail, the potato chips, and the dessert plate. And I'm going by myself so I don't have to share anything.

Great evening with a bit of this and that. Great service. obviously beautiful setting on the bay! Tasty and fresh.

Drinks are fabulous, location is beautiful, service was impeccable and food outstanding! We had the cheese and charcuterie plate, a few apps and paella. So delicious!

Ambience is nice. That's about it. The food is average, and overpriced for the quality (mediocre or 6.5 out of 10). Had a really awful kale salad, which had about half a bowl of oily dressing, thank goodness the waitress was proactive enough to offer a change. The staff (sitting at the chef table I saw the guy making it) was clearly very junior. The 2nd guy made it better, but there were some beans (edamame) that wasn't in the first salad, and much fewer garlic chips that were in the first bowl. Conclusion: inconsistent. "Mon Salmon" was a crispy biscuit-like brioche with a thick slab of something that tasted like butter or cream cheese (ie, not very good) with smoked salmon on top. Where's the honey taste? It looked like something I can assemble at home. Croquetas was normal; with the orange petals palette cleanser a bit gimmicky. Churro, my last eagerly anticipated dessert, came as 2 larger pieces and 2 smaller pieces (chef was clearly not consistent). Overly fried; the smaller pieces came out overly crispy and oily - awful. After reading all the reviews, I really wonder what this is all about. I would go to many other very good restaurants in SF instead of this, esp for this price.

This is one of the original restaurants that has survived in San Francisco and has consistently been good. It is primarily tapas with many Spanish inspired cocktails to try as well. For tapas plates these are not huge, so you may end up order more than you typically do to share. The Gambas and the Albondigas were stand outs. They also offer a wide array of deserts beyond simply a flan. The service was super attentive. The only down side was the eagerness to constantly remove plates even before you were done sopping up the last bit of sauce. We had to contact grab them back. In the end it felt rushed and not as relaxed as we would have liked.

Beautiful location in the embarcadero. Sangria is perfect. We ordered a few tapas dishes and pinxto form the case. Everything is very fresh and flavorful. Worth the stop!

The food is interesting and delicious--alot of variety. Service and ambiance is great. We think this is the best spanish restaurant in the Bay Area.

great location , we were at outside but there is plenty of heaters and we moved into the bar after eating as people left. Service and staff were excellent and great fun but above all the food was excellent. One of our favourite evenings of our trip

This place is a real gem. Everything about a good experience, Coqueta will provide. It's worth coming back all the time.

Fabulous tapas. Patatas bravas with lightly smoked potatoes were very different and more than a level above run-if-the-mill patatas bravas. Boca Villa de la casa is an eggplant slider. Delicious, with the cheese on the overly salty side. Albondigas de Cordero are excellent lamb meatballs.

The ambience is of this tapas restaurant is exceptional from the staff to the music to the structure itself. My friend and I each ordered one item as a starter, then a delicious portion of toasted bread with tomato. The chef then gifted us with three more plates to share. All exquisite.

The food is fantastic and the service was perfect. Our server went above and beyond with recommendations and the owner/manager Patrick was very pleasant.

Overall beautiful experience, good food and drinks. Excellent service and very accommodating. Food was true to Spain’s cuisine. Food is tapas style, desert was excellent

Every single thing we had was spectacular!!! For drinks we ordered sangría to begin the spanish experience then we ordered the black ink fried squid in buns, pulpo a la parrilla (octopus cooked perfectly), Paella Mar y Montaña and for dessert we had the churros fantasía. They plated the churros differently since we were celebrating our honeymoon, this was a very nice gesture. Would recommend 100% and would definitely come back!

Fabulous setting and ambience right on San Fran Bay at Embarcadero. . Decor modern so reminiscent of old Spain. Beautiful. And the food. OMG. Such excellent small plates of very authentic and creative Spanish dishes. The chicken coquettes sublime. Peppers. Grilled Octopus. Parasails bravas. Paella next table looked fabulous. Chef obviously a genius. Very fair prices. Nice and fair priced wine list. Excellent service. Harry the GM is total pro and so nice and gracious. Loved it.

The food is great, woonderful ambiance in the restaurant and our server Johnny helped us have the perfect shared food experience!

Very good food and a fun atmosphere. Loud but not unbearable. Downside is that our server kept pushing us to order more plates, and even said the paella was too small for us- we unfortunately followed her advice and food had to be thrown away. The puma pork was amazing, flavorful and cooked perfectly.

Delicious food, friendly, attentive and well-informed wait staff -- it was a great experience and well worth the price. A delightful experience all around.

Great tapas in Yountville. Excellent cocktail (the Membrillo), tapas tasty and diverse. Prices as expected for upscale Napa dining. Only (minor) issue, one waiter for the dining room and he was very busy.
This place must have serious management problems
Were excited to go to Coqueta but very disappointed. The menu was attractive as was the restaurant itself. But the service was a big problem. We ordered just a few dishes and some drinks as well as sparkling water.. The first one came right away and was good. The second was just some bread. It took twenty minutes and several attempts just to get two pieces of bread. The third item did not show up. After more than 30 minutes we had enough and asked for the check. The waiter was apologetic as he should have been and then proceeded to pour sparkling water into my gin and tonic.
