Can’t go wrong , love it here!

By Tracy D |

I love eating here. I don’t get to come here as often as I would like since we live on base. But when I come out this way I make it a treat after .i just realized that all there sandwiches you can get gluten free. So I get the chicken pomdora on sourdough and carrot sticks as a side. They have SF syrup for diabetics if you eat breakfast. Very friendly staff. The menu is awesome and I don’t think you can go wrong. They have an app so you can look at the menu ahead of time. Come on out and try it. Even it its just for a dessert , coffee with a friend.

Good for light meals and desserts

There are several similar cafes in the area but I like Corner Bakery the best. Their food is less cheesy or greasy, and the combo plates are nice. I love their Latte with soy milk. Can't miss it whenever I go in.

American Sunday Cafe

By Aparna P |

Typical Cafe you would walk in after Sunday service at the church nearby. Lots of comfort foods, kid friendly, healthy choices, guilt free indulgence.

Awesome Pancakes

By s20mark |

Stopped by the Corner Bakery to grab some breakfast. Took a chance on the pancakes and we blown away. No stiff heavy pancakes here. Light fluffy buttermilk pancakes that are the closest you can get the Grandma Olson's famous buttermilk pancakes, Added the chicken sausage that was good as well.

Good, fresh food

This is a great location for lunch with freshly, prepared food. They have a wonderful menu including pastas, salads, soups and sandwiches. They offer half portions on most items too, which is good because their serving sizes are plenty!

Delightful & casual place to eat with excellent & healthy food

By Zell |

We eat here on a regular basis and have never had a bad meal. The food is always fresh and tasty. All staff are very friendly, even during the busiest times of the day. The manager(s) do their best to exceed expectations as does the busser, Carlos, who is quick to clean off tables and to ensure that people can be seated in their preferred seating location. During a regular work day you'll find many locals eating here from the surrounding businesses. On the weekends, you see many of the same locals returning for a casual and quick meal. This location does not seem to attract as many individuals occupying the booths to access the internet as does the other Corner Bakery located at The Quarry. However, both Corner Bakeries have very good food and in a comfortable environment with very friendly staff. The overall management at both locations is superb.

Good quick breakfast, lunch or dinner place

By 136DianeM |

It is a treat going here before church to get their Honey Banana Crunch Oatmeal (love the little crisp that comes with it) or any day for lunch. Usually get their salad trios for lunch. Just took a friend there for lunch - her first time. She had the taco soup and liked it so much that we went back and she had it the next day. I have always told myself that the desserts probably look better than they taste so I will avoid getting one, but we split one of the mini chocolate bundt cakes and it was indeed delicious. I agree with the gentleman talking about the staff. It is inconsistent with some of the younger ones. They are either very nice and accomadating or just don't seem to care. Management seems to have changed a few times over the past few months. One person consistent is the mature man who cleans up the table. He is very diligent at his job. Keeps the place clean!

Delicious!

Great spot or brunch or a quick bite before work in the morning! They have a lot of items to pick from, and fresh baked goods that smell amazing.

Great Lunch

Visited this Corner Bakery again--have been to this location many times. Good service! Yummy as always!! Love their 1/2 sandwich & cup of soup combo!

Love CBC!!!!

By SA Tripster |

Came here for the first time with some girlfriends, and I was hooked! Brought my family the next time, my husband swears by the DC Chicken Salad. I have had many of the items off of the regular and breakfast menus. It's a great place for a quick lunch, or family dinner. Prices are reasonable...we usually get the combo (soup or salad and 1/2 sandwich). Haven't had a bad soup yet, although my favorite is the poblano corn chowder. My son, however, has gotten the ceasar side salad and has been less than thrilled (wilted). My husband has also noticed inconsistencies in the quantity of chicken salad on his sandwich. It also closes at 9 pm, even on weekends. Thus the 4 stars... It's also become (one of the) many de facto "meeting places" for the many Mexican Nationals that live around here. Not a negative, but be warned that it can get loud.

SA 2019

We have ate at Corner Bakery before but not real impressed with this one. Bread on husbands sandwich was too hard for him anyway. He also didn't like the broccoli and cheese soup. My Panini was ok and the mac and cheese was real good.

Love their breakfast stuff!!!!!

By Dave E |

Corner Bakery's breakfast is some of the best around S.A. I love their various oatmeal dishes. Food is always fresh, and made fresh. My favorite item is the cheddar and bacon egg sandwich. Coffee is always hot and great. Great tasting menu items. Staff is super friendly. I meet once a month with a good friend of mine and it's the perfect place just to sit and talk. Restaurant is always clean along with their restrooms.

Always Pleasant

By Brittany A |

I've been here several times and I'm almost never disappointed. The chicken caesar salad is really good and the bread that it's served with is just as great! Soups are delicious, too! You should check out the potato, lots of flavor. The staff is exceptional. They are always so lovely and solve any issues with grace. This place is defiantly a gem for this area. Oh! And their breakfast is seriously fantastic!

Good healthy food, quick service, very good menu.

By Dewey Owens |

Lots of parking in 'strip mall' style, handicapped limited, clean bathroom, quick bussing of tables. Very good food and fresh. Lots of good choices for just about any diner. Have went back several times since.

Fabulous food

By Tabenf |

It's amazing. Quality breakfast and lunch menu with multigrain breads. Fresh fruit is a plus and service is quick. Excellent prices too

Don’t Bother

By Navigate60285 |

This restaurant had great food and service at one point in time. Now- it’s absolutely terrible. From the service, to the wait for food, to the food and right down to the clueless manager. Skip it and save yourself the frustration. The green Chili soup was congealed like a casserole. The Southwest Chicken salad had exactly 3 small slices of chicken and the dressing tasted like it had expired. My daughter’s Mac and cheese was covered by her side of potato chips and was tasteless. They also have the most disorganized way of ordering and delivering food that results in no one knowing what table the food goes to.

Great coffee - great food; comfortable restaurant!!!

By Dave E |

I meet my friend here about once a month. They have great coffee; their pastries are some of the best around. I love their oatmeal...they have four different choices!!! Service is excellent; staff is super friendly. Place is very clean, and so are the restrooms!! This is a great place to have breakfast or lunch. Don't let the fact that they are a chain deter you; these guys are great!!!! Check 'em out!!!

Fun, friendly great food and goodies!

By AnthonyC |

Flopped into town hungry and tired and found CBC in closest restaurant search.... Such a nice way to recharge. Very patient and friendly staff, clean and warm environment and of course... Great Food too! Recommend for a comfy recharge spot; and open Sunday too!

Cold food

By Chris G |

Went on a weekend afternoon, place did not have many customers. Our food was cold in the middle, we ordered their fancy mac n cheese and a hot sandwich. Mac n cheese frozen in the middle and fries were cold. Overpriced for mediocre quality.

Sunday Brunch after Cornerstone Church

By vettefinderjim |

I went to the 11 AM Cornerstone Church service with family and then went across the street to this well known Corner Bakery. Service was excellent. Food was well prepared and the facility was spotless clean in and out. We will return

Greatly disappointed!

By Napunani |

This is the first CORNER BAKERY CAFÉ in San Antonio and I was anxious to stop by as I had eaten at this franchise a couple years ago back East, but I quickly discovered that this franchise has severely degraded since that visit. I ordered the DC CHICKEN SALAD sandwich and it went downhill from there! First – the bread – two slices equaled one inch high – and it wasn’t fresh bread and it wasn't toasted!! Second – the skimpy filling - diced green apples, raisins, celery, red onions, toasted almonds, lettuce and tomatoes – ok. The chicken pieces were smaller than the raisins and there was much of it! The best I can describe the taste – bland! I ended up eating the skimpy filling and leaving the not-so-fresh bread behind. Sadly, I left CORNER BAKERY CAFÉ very unsatisfied and a bit hungry.

Nice Breakfast

By Jonathan W |

Early for my wife's hair appointment, we walked next door to Corner Bakery Cafe. From the outside it looks very classic and a tad preppy but inviting. Once you enter it is almost as if you entered McAlister's Deli Breakfast/Bakery edition mixed with Panera. Sort of a hybrid of the best both have to offer. We quickly ordered off the simple yet ample menu. My wife ordered the Bacon and Cheddar Panini while I opted for the Commuter Croissant and a coffee. I tried both and each was tasty in its own right. The warm tomatoes on mine were good, though you have to like warm tomatoes or this menu item is not for you. Service was great and cheerful and food was good. Coffee is not bad though not the best restaurant coffee I have had. I would most definitely eat here again.

Love this place!

By starfortune |

This cafe always delivers! After a miserable lunch experience at a nearby restaurant that we had to abandon, Corner Bakery gave us the "wow" experience needed to redeem our lunchtime! While I've been there plenty of times in the past, my husband now got to experience such a pleasant and delicious meal! We each had a combo, his a pasta and panini combination and mine the Chopped Salad and Tomato Basil soup combination, both very tasty!! Our mealtime was truly redeemed!! While the soup was very enjoyable, it's more tomato taste was not as flavorful as I enjoy at La Madeleine's or Jason's, since I like to compare the same dishes at various places. The portions are ample to satisfy even the bigger appetites. To top off our meal we enjoyed the Mini Pumpkin Bundt Cake, oh so moist and tasty--yum! You bet we'll keep coming back!!

Good for Lunch

By Chuck R |

I like to eat here when I feel like a healthier alternative than a regular restaurant. I recommend the Anaheim Panini and any salad with the chicken. Sometimes during lunch it gets a little backed up. Nice atmosphere with good staff. Decent meeting place that is an alternative to Starbucks.

Absolutely delicious

By Ssuarez4 |

I had the French toast and tasted other items. It was absolutely delicious. I'll DEFINITELY be remembering this place for every visit from now on.

Great Service

By Denise R |

I love this place. It is always so clean and easy to get to. The staff is very quick and pleasant. The food is great.

Late brkfst

By hungryranch |

Fairly good coffee. Scrambled eggs slightly dry but ok. Toast a heavy grainy bread. Not particularly flavorful. Fruit cup ok. Mixed fruits sat for a while so detracts from appearance. Bacon was thick and tasty. Not over cooked but done well. Finding a good breakfast is a problem. Magnolia Pancake House is way over rated and does not have really good coffee. IHOPs are...well IHOPs. Grungy. So the quest for great breakfast places continues.

Delicious foods!

By The Traveling Hockey Mom |

I have been here twice. Once for lunch, a second time I stopped in to grab a muffin for breakfast. The service has been excellent both times. The first lunch stop I ate inside and got potato soup and a FREE cookie for signing up for their email club. The second experience I dropped in for a banana muffin for breakfast when heading for work. The muffin was very tasty and fresh! Will definitely be back!

Eat here weekly

By Cynthia J |

Great lunch. I get the craving for the Chicken Pesto on Ciabatta Ficelle with the backed potato soup. I don't know what it is about that sandwich but I have to have it once a week. I get extra salad dressing on the side and make a mess out of it but it is delicious. The pasta Pesto Cavatappi is fabulous. The deserts are "ok" with a hit and miss at times and not very memorable with the exception of their Apricot Rugalach. Yummy. Will be their tomorrow!

catering is top notch

By TaurusMom |

I had a business lunch catered here, and it was excellent. I was surprised to arrive at 11am, and find the restaurant already busy! After my successful luncheon, I brought my son here for his lunch. Very good!

Some good, some not so good

By RDW2 |

My wife and I had dinner here this evening and, as the title says, we had some good and some not so good aspects to our experience. First, the good: The workers were friendly and helpful. The menu has a decent variety of choices. The facility is clean and brightly cheerful. The desserts appear to be very good, at least the two we had were. Now, the not so good: We both had the Pick 2 with a half sandwich and a cup of soup. The half sandwich was good; however, both of our cups of soup left a bit to be desired. My wife's soup was the tomato soup, which she didn't find to be particularly good. I had the "loaded baked potato" soup and, to be honest, it was extremely bland and, in fact, I have accidentally gotten walpaper paste in my mouth that tasted at least as good. So, the bottom line is that I can recommend this restaurant as long as you avoid the soups.

nice semi healthy lunch and dinner spot

By skylanders |

I love all the salad options, tried their new salad trio, the Kale salad and chicken salad quite good the avacodo salad was a disappointment but over all a good meal for the money, love their tea and I was a bad girl and had dessert...the lemon bar is so good, that was my fault not their's. We went at 6 pm so wasn't crowded at the time and service prompt. I have been there other times when they where slammed I think if pick an off time you can have leisure meal and good service. We actually stayed chatting till they closed, so was a delightful evening and I will return. never tried breakfast, will do it some time.

Lunch with a friend

By Leah P |

Food service was fast, I had soup and salad. I was not very impressed with the soup (tomato basil), it was like eating a can of tomatoes, too thick for my liking. Salad was good

A new great place for lunch.

By TexasTravler45 |

My wife suggested a new place for our lunch which is usually a salad and a protein. we arrived about noon and the place was nearly full. we ordered Chopped Salad that comes with Natural chicken. The food was delivered to our table rather quickly, we ordered the Entre size and it was more than adequate for me. The salad was very good as was the chicken and pieces of bacon. the lettuce was mostly green iceberg. everything was 'chopped' and totally filled the cold large bowl. now we have another great place for lunch. they also serve sandwichs and pasta dishes. the pastries looked very good but I can't eat them currently. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and have takeout.

Revised Menu - I won't return.

By Mare1599 |

I hadn't been to Corner Bakery Cafe in quite a while. All 3 of my favorite items were deleted from the menu - Ruben, Pull Pork and Cuban Sandwiches. I ordered a cup of soup and a half a sandwich. I ordered the cheese and broccoli soup. It tasted scorched and was a brownish yellow. Not sure if it was supposed to taste that way, but I couldn't eat it. My sandwich was the chicken salad. Again, a great disappointment. I drive from San Antonio to Boerne and Comfort for great chicken salad sandwiches...I won't return to Corner Bakery. The atmosphere is great, service is great, location is great...and I'm sure they have good things on the menu, but I won't try again.

GREAT LUNCH SPOT!

By Cindy G |

For fresh food prepared as you order, you want to visit this cafe. Really tasty soups, salads and sandwiches and the desserts are amazing! I have given a try to many of the items on the menu and none have been disappointing. Fresh, tasty and well prepared the staff is there to provide great service and a nice lunchtime eating experience.

A Good Breakfast Place

By bobemac |

The orders are placed at the counter and you have to avoid the delicious pastries that will tempt anybody. We ordered the Farmers scrambler. The eggs were done just right with peppers, mushrooms, and cheese. It comes with toast and a great fruit salad. Good food at a nice price with fast service means a great place for breakfast.

They knew us by name

By bmxm0m |

We tried it once and were hooked. Went back every day during our stay. Breakfast is great (French toast..mmmmmm). Fresh food and friendly people!!

This is one of the best for casual dining, great food for good price

By skylanders |

We had a baby with us and the bus boy was so helpful to sit us where a draft was not blowing on her, we moved twice, He was so pleasant and helpful, makes dining nice when people treat you so well. Healthy clean food, freshly done, I love the aisan chicken salad, have tried others but go back to it

Always good!

By TaurusMom |

Corner Bakery is consistently good. Service was friendly. I had a veggie panini one time, and had the mac and cheese several times. Always good. I like the atmosphere, too.

Excellent food, but no prices on the menu ???

By Tabenf |

I love the food but why'd you take the prices off your menu? Fresh tasty food consistently. I liked it better when the prices were on the menu

Quite good for the price

By TXbefair |

Had for lunch a BLT---quality ingredients with nice quantity of Applewood smoked Bacon. Each ingredient on sandwich was definitely a cut above what most other eateries in this category use. Kettle potato chips & Mighty Leaf black tea were another plus.

OK if you're in the neighborhood

By OtherMountainDude |

If you're reading this on your smart phone in the cafe parking lot, don't be put off by the mediocre numerical rating. Turn off the engine, go inside, eat, and enjoy. This is an ok place to eat. It just isn't exceptional. The place is clean. The people are friendly. The food is ok--about average. On the other hand, if you're sitting at home or in a hotel, don't go out of your way for this. There are dozens, maybe hundreds, of restaurants along FM 1604 on San Antonio's north side that serve the same kind of food. Many of them do it better. Several of them do it cheaper. My wife, brother-in-law, and I got Sunday brunch here after Church last weekend. The place was very crowded, a testimony to its popularity. I got scrambled eggs. My wife and brother-in-law got scramblers. My eggs were just a touch over done but ok. I didn't find the toast on the side to be particularly good, although as a vehicle for butter and jelly it worked just fine. The potatoes were mixed with onions. I don't like that. Your opinion might be different. The crowded dining room and line at the ordering station suggests that a lot of people really like the place. By the way, the coffee was excellent and refills are free. In my opinion that offsets a lot. Access to this cafe is good. Although the address says Stone Oak Parkway, it really is located along the access road to FM-1604 just before you reach Stone Oak. If you want to reach the parking lot from Stone Oak you have to make a left turn into a side entrance to the shopping center about 100 yards north of Stone Oak's intersection with the access road. There is a lot of parking, but it can be a little tight on a weekday when all the other businesses are open.

Breakfast in the corner pocket

By Chimesboss |

We were in town visiting our son, my wife a late riser got up too late for the hotel's breakfast so we decided to try our luck on the road. I had been to the center where this was located the day before and decided to give it a try. Breakfast even a late one was fine. I had oatmeal and she a breakfast wrap. Both while not exciting were good quality and served quickly. The place was clean and reasonably easy to get to. If you are looking for a gourmet experience this isn't it but it's a cut above fast food like a McDonalds breakfast.

It's a corporate store with real people.

By forthetweeple |

I usually hate places that are corporately owned, but this store is very different. The people were pleasant and attentive. That always makes a huge difference, and they really seemed to have culture of passion for the product. You just can't teach people that. the food was great, but I was blown away by the service!

Breakfast

By JimCRhodes |

I have had up and down experiences at the Corner Bakery Cafe. One time the service is good: the next time the service is marginal at best. The food is good but the preparation and quantity is inconstant. And this is not the cheapest place to eat, so i expect more.

Brunch

By Latonia H |

Well heck. They are out of several item. I’m not sure the lunch crowd has even arrived. Was not that impressed with my food.

Where the locals go...

By sparks84 |

I had their French Toast and scrambled eggs. Fabulous. Made with cinnamon brioche and vanilla. Just like have moist, yummy bread pudding sprinkled with powdered sugar. My husband had the chicken/green chile pannini with tomato/basil soup. He said the soup was very good but that he was definitely getting what I got the next time we go! Many things to choose from.

Cozy cafe

By Pjm3000 |

Quite, cozy cafe! Very good breakfast sandwiches. They sell organic milk, thank God. They have good prices on food.
