Worst BBQ ever

By Lois A |

We had lunch here today. Based on the reviews I was expecting great Texas BBQ. My opinion, don’t waste your money. We both ordered the brisket plate. The meat tasted like nothing without the bbq sauce. Seriously, bland. Like it was cooked with nothing on it. No spices, no smoking flavor. Just tasteless. Ugh, really the worst ever! McDonald’s McRib is better! So $58.00 later, just yuck. Go somewhere else.

Country look and feel...

By Ginger-Suzie |

Love the country look on the walls. Country music was excellent. Food was so good. Had the brisket, sausage and potato salad. There is an outdoor stage. Nothing playing that night. No wait and service was good.

Just Okay BBQ!

By BluePlate-Now |

Went here for lunch with a group from the office. Everyone said they liked the BBQ. Serving sizes were generous. Our waiter Joseph was quick and responsive. I had the BBQ Chicken. Nice smoked taste. dark meat was moist and tasty. However, the white meat was totally overcooked and dry. Green beans were rubbery = undercooked.

Still our favorite

By Sharon Z |

This is the 3rd time we have gone and every time we expect it to disappoint and not be as good as we remembered, but once again we were impressed. One of the few places that still does BBQ beef ribs, they are tender and juicy, and the briskett sandwich was tender and moist as well. The meat has lots of smoke and the sauce is good.

Good BBQ

By Carlos |

County Line on W Ih10 serves up some good bbq, and you cannot go wrong with their homemade bread! Beef, & pork ribs and brisket were good and the sides are equally as good. So when in San Antonio stop by the County Line and enjoy some great bbq.

Decent BBQ for a chain

By Ralph P |

Had lunch here today and it wasn't half bad. The portions were generous for lunch and the prices seemed fair given the portion sizes. I think the real value is the drink portions which were one size lower than "bucket", And at the end of the meal, they offered to swap out our beverages for "to go" cups which were just as large. Although a BBQ pit was no where to be found on-site, the sausage and lean brisket did have good smokehouse flavor.

Surprising and delicious

By maida22 |

We are no BBQ experts but wanted to walk to dinner from the Omni hotel. Despite a lukewarm review from the concierge we had a great night here. Ribs and burgers washed down with margaritas and local beer and a cheesecake the size of your head. All good, all served with a smile and as a bonus a great band playing live. Good value and good fun in an unpretentious way.

Really good BBQ

By ashleenwalker |

We really enjoyed eating at County Line. The portions were pretty big and we definitely had to take food home with us. Service was on par as well. We really liked the decor and atmosphere. Price was a little high but again, the portions were generous. We will definitely eat here again!

Disappointed

By Gregory W |

We had anticipated trying some great barbecue while in San Antonio. Unfortunately County Line was no where near our expectations. We had a combo of beef and pork ribs, Cole slaw and fries. The beef ribs were very tough and only warm. The pork ribs were much more tender and we did enjoy these. The slaw and fries....just average too. The service certainly helped as it was great, but with so many choices of food on the River Walk, I'd pass on this one.

Excellent BBQ & Catfish

By Vacation465168 |

We consider ourselves BBQ experts being from Wichita (which has a bazillion BBQ places). So we were pleasantly surprised that this chain place was soooo good! Brisket was moist, margaritas were awesome, catfish was best I've ever had, great green beans and even our sons Cheeseburger kids meal was the bomb! Great service, everything tastes fresh! Would come back in a heart beat.

County Line on SanAntonio riverwalk

By Toni H |

Brisket was inedible. Left it and told the waiter but they did not take it off the bill. Sides were just okay. Skip it!

Good smoked sausage

By Kango Anywhere |

Ordered the 5 meat smokehouse sampler, food was good and fast service. Also received the chef appetizer for free with yelp check in and loved the smoked sausage.

Texas Barbeque

By Jessie N |

Ribs were good, chicken was not, brisket was awesome, beans and potatoe salad was good, the sausage was okay. The service was subpar the waitress brought me a soda with no syrup, then when she was told it had no syrup brought me one that was flat. I would have said it was because she was bisy but we were the only ones there.

Brisket Was Outstanding

By LankyOmaha |

We ate here with our grand kids. Everyone enjoyed their weal. I had the hot links, which were very good. My wife had the brisket, and she loved it.. The salads were OK, but as good as the meat,

Just OK

By MiaEDallas |

I ordered the 2 meat lite combo. I had the sausage and turkey breast with a baked potato. I'm a fan of Texas Barbecue and I was not impressed. The turkey breast was thinly sliced and didn't taste "smoked". The homemade loaf of bread was awesome and the only reason I gave them 3 stars. I visited on a Thursday evening and a live band played on the patio. No gluten free menu.

Friendly Service

By Rose G |

The gentleman that sat us was extremely friendly and so was our waitress Merritt. I had the lite platter with sausage/chicken and my husband order the beef ribs. The food came out quickly and hot, the all tasted delicious even the mac/cheese, beans & corn was sweet and grilled. Food is always fresh.

Go just for the deviled eggs!

By Phil R |

They are the best deviled eggs I've ever had. while you are there order some BBQ. I personally like the smoked turkey and pinto beans. Live entertainment on summer weekends.

No Disappointment - Great Dinner

By harrygjr |

On Oct. 27, my wife and I had the pleasure of re-visiting The County Line, located on the access road of I.H. 10, for dinner. Generally, I would start a review by writing “I have bad news and I have good news.” However, in this case, I have absolutely NO bad news. Our time there was perfect from our arrival to our departure. We were greeted as we walked in, taken to the booth we wanted and before we sat down, our drink order was taken. In less than five minutes, our unsweet tea arrived and much to our pleasure, it tasted great. At the time it was brought to our booth, our order was taken. Within ten minutes our dinners arrived just as we had ordered. My wife order the turkey plate with slaw and green beans. I order the Rib King Combo which consists of a half-rack of St. Louis pork ribs and a half-rack of beef ribs. My sides were slaw and potato salad. My wife said the turkey and sides were great – no complaints at all, and the serving sizes were very generous. The ribs were warm, tender, juicy, and tasted fantastic. I might also add that the amount of fat on the ribs was negligible. They do not slice up their ribs. In other words, it is your responsibility to cut apart each of the bones. Which, I didn’t have a problem with at all. There is no sauce on their ribs, they bring you two flavors of sauce in separate bowls. As for their sides, they gave me what appeared to be a double portion of slaw and definitely a double portion of potato salad. Should you visit this establishment, make sure to order their potato salad. Our server was great. While he did stop a couple of occasions and asked if we needed anything, he did not pester us; he walked by several times, slowly, should we have needed anything, we could have easily stopped him and asked. When we were finished, he took the ribs I had not eaten and had their kitchen staff wrap them up in tin foil for me to take home. Likewise, he brought us the necessary containers to take home all of our left overs, including their BBQ sauce. At no time did we feel rushed to leave. It was indeed a very pleasant dinner experience. We will most certainly go back.

Great atmosphere

By DavidByk |

When the best part of your meal is the atmosphere then you know you’re in trouble. We sat by the river which was nice but now the food. My wife and I shared the 5 meat platter and we had a side of beans. The beans were inedible!! I’ve had much better coming from a can. How can a BBQ joint have beans that bad? The 5 meat platter was hit and miss, the peppered turkey was outstanding and the ribs were very good. The brisket was dry and tasteless and the chicken was dry and hammered. I wish we had asked for dark meat it might have helped. The sausage was average and at 2 stars I think that’s a gift.

Great BBQ

By JugglerrelgguJ |

Great BBQ and atmosphere. Friendly staff and great for families. I’ve been in San Antonio for two weeks and have eaten here several times. The real deal.

Best BBQ in Texas?

By Liz T |

We had a late lunch before driving back to Houston. There were some things that struck me. The mac & Cheese were NOT homemade. I was so sad :( I had the yummy Chicken Fried steak regular portion. It was HUGE, I should've listened to the waitress and gotten the half portion. BF got the rack of pork ribs and he was disappointed. The complex flavor just wasn't there. I would have loved to see other non-carb-heavy sides besides coleslaw, like a cucumber salad or a veggie mix.

County Line - Lunch 10/13

By Memo t |

Have been on a BBQ tear lately. BBQ Station last week County Line this. Wished this place was set somewhere beside right on I-10. Like the atmosphere just out of place. Service was dawdling at best. The turkey was good, portions plentiful NOT BBQ on the cheap. Brisket - meh. One dining companion thought the bread was the best part of the meal. Another liked the pork ribs. Did not stay for dessert but the pecan pie looked good. While I'd go back to this restaurant they would not be a first choice when craving BBQ.

Disappointed

By Jodi M |

Heard that the place was pretty good, absolutely incorrect was not impressed with the food at all. We had the brisket, ribs , coleslaw and potato salad. No taste for the salads and the meats were nothing to speak about or recommend to anyone. Homemade bread WASTE of money if you are not a huge eater. We love bread but this bread the slices were about two inches thick (should have saved the money and got complimentary bread). Will not go back or recommend.

Great Barbeque

By Barb125 |

There are so many choices here that are delicious. The lean beef brisket is great. There are many good sides to choose from and the hot bread brought to the table is wonderful.

Great bbq

By jessiemessie08 |

Food was great, fast service, place felt like if I was out in the country with antiques from back in the day. Fries are great as well

Carnivore heaven

By boymomdfw |

Service was a little slow considering we got the all you can stand, but otherwise the food is good like all the other locations. The ribs and 2nd cut brisket are the best meats in my opinion. Also the cobbler and ice cream should not be missed!

Delicious beef brisket

By Shaurice H |

Great atmosphere. Went there with family. Food was good. Best barbecue that I had there was the beef brisket. This restaurant serves a very good bread pudding.

Good BBQ

By slaterster03 |

I had the two meat combo with sausage and second cut brisket. Brisket was out of this world. Added pork ribs. Juicy and tender. Potato salad and beans were very good. Cole slaw is very heavy on the mayo. Not my preference. Great service.

Great Time with Lots of Food

By Lisa |

We had a great time here. I think we ended up hanging out here for a little over two hours. This BBQ is different. Definitely not East Texan BBQ. It has different flavors to it. Reminded me of northern BBQ. Nonetheless, still really good. The meat itself was smoked to perfection. I had the turkey. The BBQ sauce is a little spicy, diff taste but good. Their baked beans are actually pinto beans in some sort of sauce. I wasn't sure if I would like them since I'm not a fan of pinto beans but I did, I ate all of mine. The potato salad was good. The complimentary bread was also a nice touch. Boyfriend had brisket, red potatoes that were mashed and the baked beans. He enjoyed his meal as well. The amount of food was adequate as we both had leftover food on our plates because we were full. Lots of drink selections. Their food and drinks are at a good price. It's hard to find a restaurant on the river walk that doesn't break the bank. We went around 8:00 pm on a Saturday and we were seated right away. We ate inside since it was a little hot outside. We enjoyed this place as our last night spent on the river walk.

Dinner was great

By Kim C |

After an 11 hour day on the road asked our hotel where to go for good BBQ. We were not disappointed. We got a free appetizer coupon from our hotel which was a delicious sliced sausage and BBQ sauce. Husband loved the chicken and beef ribs. Fried okra, mashed potatoes, salad....all tasty. Not used to the Texas beans - in St Louis we serve them sweeter but they were good too. Our waiter, Batman Matt was great!! Such a friendly and attentive waiter.

Great Texas Barbecue

By Barb125 |

Wonderful brisket and sides. The cole slaw is wonderful as is the bread. As an appetizer, I highly recommend the deviled eggs with jalapeno bacon.

Great selections and combos!

By Boomps |

It was a while since we last ate here. We were craving BBQ but didn't want to travel far. Tried their home made bread for the first time. It is worth a try. I had to buy a Loaf to take home (made French toast). The ribs are average. The brisket on par with Bill Miller's. I would have to say there are better BBQ places within a 25 mile radius.

TOURIST FOOD

By downtexasway |

1st thing - I'm a fan of the County Line family of BBQ restaurants. You can't beat State Line BBQ & Steaks in El Paso, was there last month and that's why we went out of our way to go to CLOSE Riverwalk. The meal we had was not the kind you write home about, the brisket was not tender and over sauced. The presentation was thrown together with bean juice ladeled all over the bowl. I know I'm being critical but if it's BBQ you're seeking look elsewhere. The cuisine is dated and dusty, and the staff indifferent.

BBQ Platter for Two - Great BBQ, Great Deal

By AmericanKot |

The BBQ platter for two provided a large variety of smokey BBQ meats, brisket, ribs, sausage, chicken, and turkey. The brisket and ribs were excellent, as expected, but the chicken was surprisingly good - moist and tender with a smokey flavor. Along with two large sides, there was more than we could eat. The price was good, too.

Excellent Food and Staff

By Tracey H |

As we were staying at a hotel nearby, was worth walking in the rain, yes rain, to this place. The food was plentiful and delicious.

Excellent BBQ

By RudeeB32 |

The food was amazing and they have huge portions. It’s a bit on the pricy side, but the food and service was very good nonetheless. Definitely wouldn’t mind going back again.

Not impressed....

By Bob C |

Haven't been to the County Line in some time. Went for the Baby Back Ribs and was disappointed. The meat seemed to be underdone and was difficult to separate from the bones. My son's sausage plate was excellent. We all liked the cole slaw! Service was erratic. There are a lot of choices for BBQ in San Antonio!

Great potential but a little disappointing

By Daddy_Pig66 |

It's not very often that somewhere recommended by Lonely Planet turns out to be a let-down and, to be fair, the food at County Line (half rack of ribs platter and beef brisket platter) was pretty good and the beer (a local bottled IPA) was very good on a hot day. There's plenty of choice on the menu, service was helpful and friendly and the price was reasonable for the riverside location. If only the food had been served hot, rather than barely lukewarm, the overall experience would have been so much better. That said, we found the same at several other places, so maybe we're missing something.

Good Texas BBQ in Fun Environment

By Don Hummer Jr |

We stopped here for two reasons: 1) we wanted authentic Texas BBQ, and 2) it was within walking distance of the Hyatt Place. We were seated pretty quickly as there were a lot of tables and it wasn't too busy -- we went during the week -- and sat down in a booth. The waitress was helping making some recommendations we ended up going with. I ordered the platter that had two meats and got the ribs and brisket. The brisket was excellent but for my ribs there wasn't a lot of meat (hence only the four stars). We ended the meal with Blue Bell Ice Cream and then I went back to my hotel room stuffed. The atmosphere was pretty good for folks not local to San Antonio and I definitely will go back there again, but probably order something different next time as the BBQ sauce was very good.

Goodish

By Violeta G |

The service was fast and friendly. The food was pretty ok. Even though the coleslaw was very “rustic” it had good flavor, the potato salad and fries were great. We ordered the 5 meat plate for two and 3 could have eaten from it and be super full. If you eat light or moderately four could have eaten from it. The turkey was not dry which was very satisfying but the brisket was super dry on the other hand. It had good flavor but it was so dry it crumbled in your mouth I personally wouldn’t have it again. The beef ribs and pork ribs were also delicious as well as the sausage. The BBQ sa use was great complement for it and the bread topped everything off. I would NOT buy a margarita though. They are seriously overpriced and overrated. The portion is ridiculous. Aside from that everything else is what’s expected when sitting on the river walk. I recommend for a quick bbq fix if you’ve got a hanckerin’ and you don’t want to walk anywhere else or every other place had at least a 2 hour wait and they weren’t taking anymore names which was our case.

Best BBQ in San Antonio!!

By tvtraveler |

Amazing food and great service. There are 2 of these but we chose to avoid the riverwalk location for dinner because of the crowds. However, I ended up there for lunch a few days later and it had the same delicious food and a lovely ambiance outside on the riverwalk. I had a 2 meat platter for dinner, it was HUGE and the sides were great too!!! Loved the cole slaw and the beans, but it was the second cut brisket that is the reason to eat here. BEST IN TEXAS!!! I loved the sausage too!

Great chicken...bbq was a B+

By Marcos |

We loved the fried chicken here and the side dishes were really good...like potato salad, cole slaw, etc. Staff was excellent. Our server was especially helpful and engaging. The BBQ itself was just Ok -- a B+. If BBQ is your goal then there are many other options out there...but, overall, a fun place for dinner with friends.

The Best BBQ I've Ever Had

By Mulan H |

I enjoyed the old, Texan, country ambience of the restaurant. The servers were very friendly and outgoing. I ordered the "lite" meal, but it took me three days to finish it all, so opt to share or get a take out. The BBQ was delicious and I would definitely travel back t Texas for that.

Horrible

By znn786 |

We went to the River Walk location after verifying that they had beef ribs. Our food came out and we asked the waiter if it indeed was beef ribs; he said yes. So we began eating thinking they were short ribs. Half way through I see that the meat is white; waiter comes over and we ask him ‘are you sure these are beef and not pork’ he states he checked with the kitchen and they were pork! I informed him that I don’t eat pork for religious reasons; he went mum and asked if I wanted to see the manager. Manager comes over we explain the situation, she was very apologetic and took care of our bill; she also sent us away with a full rack of beef ribs. Kudos to her but the waiter was absolute stupid. You might think how did we not know beef or pork? Well we have had weird experiences at resultants; asked for ribeyes and served sirloin etc. We asked and the waiter lied to us even though we were skeptical about what we were served. Am extremely disappointed with the County Line.

Food was good and so was service

By JMS4409 |

Ate there for a work lunch last week. The food was good. I got the brisket, which was labeled on the menu as being marbled, and only ate about half of it because of the amount of fat on it. The music was incredibly loud, especially for the few people that were dining there at that time. They did turn it down when we requested it though. Their sweet tea was great. Bread was okay. Not spectacular but it was pretty good.

Dinner

By Renee F |

Best steak restaurant so far. Homemade bread was delicious. Quantity portions are Texas style. Prices are great.

Not good

By Paul M |

The only thing good here was the wings.. I got brisket sandwich and it was dry. One of my friends asked for moist brisket and they asked what do you mean want me to pour water on it.the bbq sauce shredded brisket looked like a sloppy joe. Find bbq else where.

Very Average BBQ

By Gary Schultz |

I've been to County Line before and didn't think it was all that spectacular but I was seduced by the hype and gave it another try. Very Average BBQ. The service was fine and the food is not bad, but there are many other places in San Antonio that are better. I had the brisket and sausage and neither was memorable. The mac n cheese was way below average - it was on the same level as the box stuff. Do yourself a favor and find a different BBQ joint.

Awesome BBQ

By alex19862017 |

Loved this place was recommended to me by hotel staff at the hotel that I was staying in. Loved their Ribs and brisket. Delicious

Great Brisket, BBQ Chicken, Potato Salad, Coleslaw, weak Margarita!

By Bob A |

Lovely river view. Our server was right there for drink orders. I had a margarita that was small and weak for the price. The rest of the meal was outstanding! Wife and I shared their 2 Meat Combo. We had brisket, chicken, potato salad and coleslaw, they were all delicious! The brisket was tender and tasty, the chicken cooked just right and both the potato salad and coleslaw were very good. The prices were a little high but we were paying for the lovely riverside dining. I'll have a beer next time but the food was really good. We finished with bread pudding with ice cream, the perfect finish to a great meal.

Worst BBQ Experience Ever

By julap02 |

Our server was nice, but didn’t seem to know much about the menu or at least didn’t offer any help. After some time reviewing the menu, he just let us order the “All You Can Stand” and later admitted that nobody ever orders that because it’s just “too much food”. He used that as an excuse also when we had to remind him multiple times what was included (such as the dessert). He said “sorry, I forgot since it’s been 6 months since anyone ordered the all-you-can-eat!” He never re-filled our drinks (which they charged for one lemonade, but I believe should’ve been included with the meal. Everyone else had water!!!). I wouldn’t have minded so much had the food been good (since you can take home leftovers) - but the food was mediocre at best. The pork ribs were decent, but the beef ribs, which were the reason we went there in the first place, were dry and barely had any edible meat on them. The brisket and turkey were also dry. And the BBQ sauce didn’t help to moisten anything (and just made things taste more salty). My boys, who can easily eat 2 steaks in one sitting, barely ate any of the meat! And they didn’t take one bite of the sides because those wouldn’t have been their first, second or even third choices on the expansive sides menu. The “forced” sides that came with the meal (beans, potato salad and coleslaw) were not good at all. Everything was salty salty salty with some tang and no sweet. They had so many other side options - they should let you choose them when everyone at the table is getting the most expensive thing on the menu! And what kids eat those sides! I wish that instead of spending all that money on food we didn’t eat or like, that each of us got our favorite types of BBQ meat with the sides of our choice. We would’ve spent a lot less money and may have gone home a lot happier. What seemed like the manager made his rounds at the end and asked how everything was, but I didn’t want to put a damper on an already bad experience (we were there celebrating an occasion!!) so I just responded that it was good. Of all the BBQ restaurants we’ve been to in Texas, this was definitely the worst experience. And the most expensive. Will NOT be going back again anytime soon.

Most delicious

By D J |

I had the brisket, sausage, potato salad and fried okra with their homemade bread. The homemade bread is so good with honey butter. The family enjoyed every bite. Stop by and you will not be disappointed.

Really good BBQ at reasonable prices

By Redfoxpicker |

There were 8 of us with two kids, one of the reasons we picked this place is that it had a kids menu. The beers were cold, and the portions were large, large enough that we didn't have room for cobbler, which was really bad because the friends we were with had eaten at another County Line and said it was fabulous. The total bill averaged $25 per person which is less than a lot of the restaurants. Everyone enjoyed their meal, even the kids. We will hit this place again.

Typical chain food

By foode217 |

Overrated. Overpriced. Food lacked flavor. BBQ sounded good but it missed the mark. Bill miller is also a chain but their food is good!

Great Bar B Que and live music too

By Phil R |

The service here is always great. Our lunch was served in less that five minutes after we sat down. I always order the smoked turkey because it is the best I have found. My wife gets the brisket and sausage. The potato salad is delicious as are the pinto beans. If you go in the evenings they have live music after 7. There is plenty of parking and usually no long lines. I never have room for dessert, but they look real good.

The brisket is very tender and moist

By LMK101 |

We had an order to go, brisket, sausage, green beans, cole slaw. We waited about five minutes from time it was ordered to time was ready. Everything was really good. Good atmosphere.

I had no idea

By scubachef88 |

Ok I'm going to be honest I've known about this spot forever but always dismissed it I'm not a big fan of big box BBQ. But I decided to give it a try mostly because the BBQ I wanted to go to was closed So first impression great atmosphere- think of an old gram barn tools signs and stuff hanging all over the walls Was greeted with a smile and waiter promptly got drink orders There's more than BBQ on the menu as a mater it's a larger menu than most BBQ spot We started off with the deviled eggs oh yes they were good The we opted to get the five meat plate and split it simple because we couldn't figure out which meats we wanted. We added two extra sides so with 5 meats 4 sides in front of us we dove in Pork ribs tender and delicious Beef ribs a little tough and fatty Brisket juicy tender could have been a little leaner Turkey very good Sausage not much to write home about Mac n cheese, beans, orka, potato salad were all excellent Hate to say it but the sides were better than the meats

Solid choice for good food on the riverwalk

By JS3Travel |

We ate here for lunch, same great food, a bit lower prices and specials. Food was very good. Homemade bread is a bit overrated, but was good. Brisket tacos were great and we all agreed that the sausage was top notch. This location is intimate if you sit outside. The riverwalk is narrow at this point and provided a focal point to see the boats and people without being bumped. After our meal we finished walking the riverwalk and we're convinced that here and near the westin were the best spots to stop for our crew.

Quick service, good food next to our hotel

By Dianne W |

We were staying at the Hyatt Place and this restaurant was only a few steps away. It was during the week so there was no outdoor entertainment in the large venue. The restaurant was full for mid week and service was quick. The BBQ was very good. I do agree - the bread is excellent.

Good Grub - Texas Style

By AlCercone |

Whether it's beef ribs, chicken or brisket, they have it all, it's all moist, tender, and reasonably priced. The huge and meaty beef ribs remind me of seeing men sitting around a fire in a old Viking movie with a truly MAN-size hunk of meat in their hands. Feels like one is sitting in a decorated barn out of the old west. The sauce makes or breaks the barbecue, and County Line has the sauce to make it delicious. Add a side of coleslaw, potato salad, or chuck wagon beans, and the hard part is trying not to over eat, and the challenge is leaving enough room for their delicious vanilla bean ice cream.

Worst BBQ

By Jennifer P |

We were visiting from Florida and had one of the worst experiences. The BBQ was terrible. I didn’t know you can screw up Mac N Cheese, but you can. The pork was not shredded, but in chunks. Nothing really had any taste. It was 82.00 for 4 people to eat.

I won’t be back nor will my

By Robin D |

I won’t be back nor will my friends. We had made reservations online and I was even sent texts confirming and telling me my reservation is taking place. When we get there the person States he doesn’t have it AND we can not be accommodated due to a private party. Would be fine but the manager was extremely rude to my friends and me. Just rude, no apology....we will spend our money elsewhere and let all our friends know!

By Brian W |

As a restaurant owner I understand the multiple issues faced but my experience was way out of the ordinary. Greeting was great and initial drink order was fine. Twenty five minutes later I was asked if I was "ready" I said I was ready for the check and he flipped it out of his hand onto the table and walked away. Weird all the way around.

Great Service

By hoopsman86 |

I've eaten here many times and love the food every time. I took a basketball team in this time and the service was great. They really took good care of us and we were a party of 17. I don't take good service for granted when we travel and this was a great experience.

Fantastic food and service

By ArleneFLBrussels |

The BBQ was excellent. You won’t go hungry here, the portions are quite large. Service wAs great....food was out fast. Will visit again

Bread is phenomenal!!

By kfmonroe8 |

The BREAD!!! Omgosh fantastic!!! Greens were great also, had an appetizer of fried pickles that was also good! Service was good!! Enjoyed our Riverwalk view!!

Tasty Texas BBQ

By MacRanger |

Reserved an all-you-can-eat BBQ meal for 40 people. The price was reasonable and the food was served family style which helped create a collegial atmosphere for our work party. It’s located on the beautiful River Walk, which made for a nice pre-and post dinner walk.

Great Food

By Silverado1998 |

If you like Bar-B-Que, this is the place. Excellent flavor and large portions. You will not leave hungry. Friendly service and good prices on all items.

Wow!!

By HAPPYPINOYAMERICAN |

This place was wonderful!! Food was absolutely fantastic and the service was too!! We were undecided on what local beers we would like, server brought samples of each one so that we could decide. The meats were cooked to perfection, The marbled brisket was melt in your mouth fantastic, the sausage was delicious. Everything about this place is Great!!! The atmosphere really makes the whole dinning experience wonderful!! Have told many friends the need to make this a stop if they are ever in San Antonio!!!

Ribs

By 7274Pillars |

My wife and I both ordered the ribs. They hit the spot. The beans and potato salad were okay. Would go again.

Pork Ribs

By Heartbreakh0tel |

The wings are GREAT!!!! The pork ribs cost me my left arm, and surely were over cooked and too crispy. We always have to send them back. Picking up a to-go order of ribs was just dumb. My bad!! Picking this restaurant is prob something we won't be doing again.... Brisket and turkey are dry. Food is never the same. Macaroni can use salt.

The best beef ribs

By Craig Mc |

I ate at the country line tonight and was very pleased with the full rack of ribs I ordered. I ate three of the seven and had to take the rest of them home for another meal.

Ask for Frank

By Paradox1995 |

Terrific 2nd cut brisket, dark bread, mac 'n cheese, and fabulous service by Frank made our meal just right. He checked with Dad for everything the kids ordered, so we had just what we needed in every case. He made appropriate recommendations and even was fun.

We wanted to walk to dinner?

By bbahama |

We stayed at a I-10 convenient hotel and thought we could find a walkable dinner place. After a few false starts, we chose County Line. We each had the Salmon caesar salad and an order the “special” bread. Salad was OK and the bread was not so special.

Great for large groups

We had a private room and ate family style. The waitstaff was very friendly and efficient. The platters of meats (sausage, turkey and brisket) and sides (coleslaw, beans, potato salad, and bread) were kept refilled as were our drinks. The room was private enough for the presentation and you could hear the speaker without a microphone. The restaurant has some eclectic artwork around which gives it a fun atmosphere. Good location for a large group gathering.

expected better quality from a place which specializes in BBQ style cooking

By retiredboattraveler |

My wife and I had a dinner here during our 3 night stay on the River Walk. I ordered the St. Lois style ribs with coleslaw and baked beans. It's a good thing I ordered a half rack, as there was little meat on them and what it did have was dried out meat which was suspect when I discovered that I had to saw between ribs to separate them. Flavor was good though. Just expected a more moist rack of ribs.

Catered Deliciousness

By PoliSciGuy24 |

We had this catered in, and it was some great bbq! Their potato salad is delicious! We had several types of meat and they were all great!

Not that good

By Brian W |

The BBQ was cold and sides were fire temperature hot. BBQ was okay but not very much for 12.99. Should have paid more for more BBQ. Get the family style if are hungry. Sauce was not very good.

Really great bread!

By S G |

Food was just average, other than their homemade fresh bread. It was fabulous! Service was good and no problems with orders, just nothing special to make it a memorable visit, other than the bread.

Great BBQ

By Megan D |

Clean bone ribs kinda joint! Really fun/cute atmosphere. When we're back in town I will definitely be back and I highly recommend.

Love County Line

By LannyH |

We used to really enjoy the County Line in our city. Unfortunately, it closed over 10 years ago. We were surprised to see a CL restaurant on the Riverwalk and decided to give it try for lunch. Menus now have a picture of a Big Chief tablet instead of actually being on one . The food is as we remembered. We were seated inside with a really nice river view. We decided to split a large brisket sandwich. It came with fries and we added a cole slaw. Cole slaw didn’t have enough dressing for our taste. Fries were hot and plentiful and chopped brisket was delicious. Just enough for lunch. I had peach cobble and hubby enjoyed banana pudding. Perfect midday vacation treat.

Texas BBQ reccommended by locals

By Douglas H |

The ambiance was great. Lots of pictures and relics. We had brisket, tasted great. I would have ordered the lean cut brisket if it had been my second time their. The Homemade bread was fresh and still warm. My wife and I both loved the taste of the BBQ.

Nice for a large group

By Brad C |

We were with a group of about 20. We had reservations and the restaurant was able to put us in a room so that we were all together. We had a great waitress. I believe her name was Charity. She was very attentive and checked on us regularly. All our orders were correct and we had a nice time. We had a combination platter. Overall the food was good, but the beef ribs were overcooked and chewy. The sausage was good and the turkey was very moist and had a good flavor. Definitely a good place to eat.

Excellent Service with a Smile!

By zgirl1982 |

We were staying next door at the Hyatt Place and stopped in with our kids to have some dessert. We were seated immediately and greeted by our server, Sam. He was a breath of fresh air, super polite, friendly, and on top of his game. We ordered our desserts and even though they had ran out of cheesecake, he made sure that our 9 year old wouldn't be disappointed by the milkshake he settled on. Service was prompt and everyone that assisted us was friendly and happy to help.

Excellent barbecue place.

By Mary T |

Possibly the best barbecue place in San Antonio. Good food, nice prices, and beautiful location on the River Walk.

Great Service!

By crusheronvacation |

Great service, great food! Went here on family visit, no waiting to be seated, definitely can tell your in TX BBQ soon as you walk in. Decor, smell, staff all were inviting. We tried many menu items - chicken fried steak, brisket, chicken tenders, smoked turkey were all fantastic! Only thing not exceptional was the beef ribs, but maybe it was just me being from Iowa and used to pork ribs. All the sides were good also. Would recommend for sure.

Always good

By Phil R |

We were there on a Sunday for lunch with a group of 10 and were seated immediately. Our waitress Charity was very professional and helpful. Everyone enjoyed their lunch. Love the Mexican deviled eggs.

Great dinner

By Scott B |

Had a wonderful dinner tonight. I had the two meat combo and sides and it was great! I had a Live Oak Hefe beer and it was pretty good. Our server Courtney did a great job of taking care of us. I recommend you try out the BBQ here! Prices are reasonable too.

Great Taste, Large Sides...

By Paradise31424025696 |

Me and my wife order the 3 meat plate, with 3 sides. The sides were large compared to the 3 meats. on a regular dinner plate the waiter bought us our 3 meats and one side. The other sides were in their own dish. The small portions of meat were tasty, but the sauce that covered the pulled pork was not that great and unecessary.

Excellent brisket and potato salad

By Susan M |

This restaurant is near my house and I can’t believe that I don’t visit it more often! I just loved my brisket and pulled pork sandwich with cole slaw topper. The potato salad was outstanding.....two scoops! The staff is very friendly and attentive. Very clean and well kept. Will definitely put County Line on my “A” list!

B B Q at its Best

By Smith L |

Texas is noted for B B Q and this cafe is one of the reasons. Ribs-Chicken-all kinds of beef are tender and tasty. Potato salad, beans and the sauce are perfect compliments to a Texas meal. Don't delay--make it an early stop on your trip to the most enjoyable city in America.

Average Chain BBQ

By flksfhtx |

The BBQ is fall off the bone tender but was served warm, almost cold. For those who believe that meat should speak for itself will have a hard determining due to the heavy BBQ sauce. Tasted more sauce than meat. The fried okra and fries were definitely cold and soggy. The best part of lunch was the made in house bread. Service was good.

Decent barbecue

By hjfoley49 |

Got takeout from here two nights. Food was good, with lots of options. Prices were reasonable. Tried some local beer while waiting, which was a treat.

KFC move over, because The County Line is finger-licking good!

By David Blakley |

So far this is my favorite Texas BBQ place to sit down and enjoy the best BBQ'd chicken, sausage, and brisket meats (to name a few) in the city of San Antonio. They are located at the following 2 locations: 101010 IH-10 West, (210) 641-1998 and 111 W. Crockett St., #104, San Antonio, TX (210) 229-1941.

Great beef ribs!

By usindo |

My wife and I were in the medical center area today. We decided to find beef ribs. A single restaurant came to mind and via Google; The County Line. We sat down at 3:45 pm in a ravenous mood but left the place very satisfied. Sadie, our waitress, suggested the 7 rib meal which is only $3 more than the single plate price. She also suggested we get sides in the "old fashioned way!" We received a huge spread of 7 beef ribs smothered in barbecue sauce. We also got large serving each of barbecued beans, coleslaw and potato salad. You ask about our dinner? Simply stated, it was finger licking good, not a single bite of meat was left in those huge beef ribs. Sadie was careful to let us enjoy our spread and to serve us only when needed. The entire meal cost us $31! What a deal. The table next to us ordered cowboy sausage, a chicken plate and pork ribs. They were still gnawing away as we left. By the way, you may have to get the sauce on your hands- it washes off but leaves the barbecue sauce aroma lingering. Of course we recommend this delightful place. We finally left nearly having to be rolled to our car! Mmm-mmm!

Meh

By Timcorny |

Meh Waiter was pleasant and courteous. Service was slow. Pork ribs were dry, and a bit overcooked. "World famous" bread was also middle of the road. Pass on this if you are a BBQ hound.

Not the best

By ruizrts |

From the outside looking it the place looks great. Once inside it is a slightly different story. From our seat I could see several places in the restaurant that had not been dusted or cleaned in years. However, our server was attentive and friendly. The drinks were great and our server kept them full. The ribs were good but the fries and okra were soggy.

Super Yummy Texas BBQ

By wylde-p |

We ate here twice, 2 nights in a row. if you like Texas bbq, well you will not be disappointed here. Try out the 5 meat sampler.

Fantastic feast

By EpicGuy12 |

When you are on the Riverwalk it is so hard to choose a place to dine since they all look good but when we picked here for dinner we knew we made a great choice. It was quite busy but we were lucky enough to get a table right on the river without a long wait. After glancing at the menu I settled on the brisket and smoked turkey while my g/f had the brisket. Our dishes were tender, smoky and simply just melted in your mouth like good bbq should be. Our sides were just as good although the real star was the meat itself. Couple that with the views of the River and you really do have a fantastic atmosphere with wonderful food.

Worst meal in the US in over 20 years

By PBPG |

Three of us called in for dinner on the recommendation of the hotel we were staying in. It’s in a good setting on the Riverwalk with both inside and outside tables. A greeter went and got a man to show us to an inside table, our request, rain threatened. After a short while Cedric arrived to take the drinks order, disappeared and came back asking for the food order. We said a few more minutes and please bring the drinks. Mine arrived, a Corona, without a glass, not that unusual, so I asked for one. After a huge wait, during which Cedric dealt with other tables he brought me a glass tankard, which wasn’t big enough to take the bottle. It was very chunky, the rim felt huge to drink from, and detracted from the drink. He took the food order and eventually delivered the sautéed mushrooms to the other two in the party. After a while, when the mushrooms were nearly finished I tracked him down and asked where my starter was and for another Corona, in a straight glass. My ½ lb sausage starrer arrive along with the Corona on another glass tankard. I asked for a straight glass and was eventually brought a non straight half pint glass that didn’t take the bottle. The mushrooms were ok, the sausage tasteless though the dipping sauce OK. The salad, which was a side with the main course, was delivered with the starters. Salad is a generous description, mostly leaves, two small tomatoes, two small slices of cucumber Mains were poor. My 5oz steak was burnt on the outside, OK inside, the beans were ok. The jacket potato was just cooked, could have done with another couple of minutes in the microwave. My wife’s ribs were colds and had to be sent back. When they eventually came back, the ribs were hot but the fries had gone cold, mostly went uneaten. I was amazed that a waiter can take away basically an uneaten meal and make no comment. It shows the level of care and attention they pay. We decided to skip desserts, we had had enough of the place by then. The bill, when it arrived, did not reflect the discount we were due, so that had to be sent back for correction. The whole experience was extremely poor, the food and the service. At $113 for three very poor value, a place to be avoided given there are many other choices around

Not What I Remembered

By JefeUno |

Paltry portions, disgusting cole slaw, weird chopped pork. Got the 3- meat platter with sausage, brisket, and chopped pork. Waitress did say the pork was pre-sauced. It was swimming in Carolina style sauce. Brisket portion was 3 slices smaller than 1 inch by 3 1/2 inches. Taste was ok but smallest portion of anything I’ve ever gotten at a bbq joint. Cole slaw was really a cup of mayo with bits of cabbage - disgusting. Potato salad was overly salty and tasted like nothing more than potatoes and pickle relish. Never again.

Quick meal

By MemeDolphin |

We stopped into this restaurant to get a quick meal before we went back to our hotel. All I wanted was some pulled pork and a salad. There were no sandwiches on the menu, so I asked our waiter and he said I could get that. I saw the people next to us had some really good looking wheat bread. I asked if I could get one piece of that bread instead of a bun. He told me that I couldn't do that unless I bought 1/2 of a loaf. That wasn't happening. He left our table with our orders and was soon back to tell me that they were out of pulled pork and wouldn't have any more until Tuesday (it was Sunday). Really?? No pulled pork, during tourist season for 2 more days?? I ordered the smoked turkey that was good, but not what I wanted. I won't be going back.

Delicious BBQ and great atmosphere!

By Pete07046 |

Great BBQ. This was as good as the original locations in Austin. It is also so much better of an experience because you can sit at a table and be served instead of the traditional cafeteria style.

Looking for Texas BBQ

By Donald S |

We stopped to County Line on the recommendation of our driver on the river cruise. We went with the small entrees because we were doing lunch. Three of us got the beef brisket, one the sausage and brisket. Each came with two sides. We all had the potato salad and coleslaw. Different sides: big chunks of cabbage in the coleslaw, and I think the potato salad had a bit of pickle in it. Both were good. Both were just different. The meat was great: brisket could be cut with a plastic fork. Sausage was excellent. Sat outside because of a party inside. Pigeons, pigeons and more pigeons! Them flying around and pooping was a bit of a turn off.

Meat was good. Small portions of meat for the price. Poor sauce.

By Diedre C |

We thought this BBQ was okay, but certainly not the best and it was expensive compared to other, much better BBQ in the area. The was very good, lean and tender, but the sauce itself was served in a small bowl and was very watery and bland. The sides were good and the homemade bread, which costs extra, was good.

I hate to say it, but they were average

By John B |

One of my favorite BBQ joints I County Line in Austin, so we gave this San Antonio location a try for Memorial Day. The greeter did not say much and just led us to our table. She did ask for our drinks before walking off. Our waiter was impatient, and come to find out, they were out of wheat bread, all desserts besides Peach Cobbler, and even ran out of brisket. Next time, I'm sticking to Rudy's BBQ.

BBQ

By Cindy Wheeler |

Oustanding BBQ, and great bread, close to river so romantic also, you have to try if you love great tender ribs, the berad was sweet.

Great service

By Cynthia L |

Food was great but the service was fantastic, hadn't been there in a couple of years but no complaints!

Disappointing

By WasOnce |

Dinner with 2 co-workers: I ordered the 2 meat combo (lean brisket, pulled pork) with cole slaw and mac & cheese sides. While the meats in the combo were decent, the portions were less than impressive. The mac & cheese consisted of mushy noodles in a bright orange, creamy, but tasteless cheese sauce. The cole slaw was WARM and for fear of getting sick, I steered away from it after a few bites. Service was OK. No desire to return.

More than just great Texas BBQ

By Johnnie D |

This Texas Barbecue place not only has great BBQ, they also have a live music series during the summer with some really great artists on the patio. And the cocktails here are good and always changing thanks to Garrett Stephens, the restaurant’s Assistant GM/pitmaster/chef/mixologist. And I have to say he really knows what he is doing. Come out before the music starts, have a Texas beer and one of their BBQ plates (I love the Pit Master Special Platter with the charred ends). After eating, find yourself a place to sit on the patio and have one of those signature cocktails and enjoy the music. Call ahead to make sure they have music scheduled before you go out. Also while you are there, mosey into the restroom and get caught up on your Texas slang. Be sure to order the house made bread and a dessert (cobbler of the day or Aunt Ruth's Pecan Pie are my favorites) here too. You can thank me later. It probably doesn't get much better than this for a Texas experience. Parking is ample. Could be a wait time during peak hours. They do have a full bar. If you are with a larger group or family it is probably best to order their Family Style all you can eat!

Best County Line Server Ever

By Danny M |

I've been a County Line customer for many years, San Antonio and Austin locations. They're always great, four stars at least. While the Austin locations are more scenic, this IH10 location beats them out with the best server I've ever had. Kevin, thank you.

Bad burnt ends

By Teammcwilliams |

Ordered the burnt ends Togo, got back to my hotel and opened the box, what I got was just sliced brisket, not burnt ends. The garlic mashed had an odd tangy flavor which I hope was way to much sharp cheddar. The brisket was mediocre at best and not even close to being burnt ends. The green beans were ok. The bread was good, but I wouldn't base a bbq restaurant visit on the quality of bread.

Best BBQ in town!!

By Charles H |

We love to go to the County Line whenever we want BBQ because we know it's going to be the best every single time. The BBQ turkey is moist and the brisket is out of this world. Add in the eclectic décor and it's a winning combo.

YUM YUM!

By Steven M |

I've been eating at County Line restaurants since the late 80's, first one being on the Corpus Christi Bay in Corpus Christi, TX. That restaurant is closed now. I live in San Antonio and still go when I have a hankering for good Bar B Que! I don't go as much as I use to, because the price is a bit steep. All their food is good, even their sides with the exception of their pinto beans. I usually get the Beef Rib Platter with potato salad, cole slaw and garden salad with blue cheese dressing. Their baby backs a really good too, also brisket and sausage. They have very good BBQ sauce. I highly recommend this restaurant. I've never had anyone complain when I've taken them here.

Good BBQ with all the fixin', but...

By Peter A |

I had the three meats combo. The substitute pork ribs and the lean briskets were excellent. The sausage was OK, but nothing special. Our server did a good job and we enjoyed the meal. (It would have been 5* if not for the mediocre sausage.)

The only negative that I have is we had a table that rocked. They need to fix a leg on it or something. Other than that we enjoyed this place as our last night spent on the river walk.

Smoky BBQ

By Sue V |

If you are in a hurry and want bbq, the County Line is the place to go. The turkey and brisket are pretty good but there are better bbq restaurants in town. Potato salad and cole slaw are good.

Food ok, Service and Entertainment Excellent!

By LadyTexan78676 |

I felt the food was fairly over-priced; however, our waiter, Sam, was excellent. We really enjoyed the show on the patio with Jake Ward and his band as part of the Rebecca Creek and Ancira summer concert series.

Good baby back ribs

By linbarg |

I'd always heard about County Line BBQ but never had a chance to eat at one. Both my husband and I had baby back pork ribs. They were delicious! They came with two generous side orders. I guarantee you won't leave County Line hungry.

Yummy yummy

By Vanessa B |

Excellent price for some delicious bbq and strong drinks. Their bread is also made fresh in house. Located along the river walk you can enjoy the view outside or see all the stuff they have hanging on the walls inside. Friendly staff. Come with hungry tummies!

The County Line - San Antonio I-10.

By T B |

I'm including pictures. Was very pleased with their Lean Beef Brisket Platter, the bread, their service and atmosphere. Sometimes they have live music on the patio outside. I'll return to this location when in San Antonio.

Consistently Good BBQ

By Ellen L |

A chain that started near Austin, their food is consistently good. Try the shredded beef sandwich. And if you get one of their plates, ask for it "the old fashioned way" to get it with potato salad, beans, and cole slaw, in effect a free side.

Good BBQ worth a vist. I live

By Hunter G |

Good BBQ worth a vist. I live literally in the neighborhood right behide it so I’ve been eating there for years. They have live music on some nights.

Good Texas BBQ

By Leonard L |

This is a very casual BBQ place on the Riverwalk. If you want BBQ Brisket this is the place to go. The sausage is first rate too - and the beer is cold. That about sums it up.

Open late and very tasty margarita

By Tina P |

The BBQ is pretty average so I wouldn't come get specifically bit for a late night dinner it is a good option. I had the peppered turkey with garlic potatoes and coleslaw. Consider was huge chunks, I loved the potatoes so they must have had a lot of butter in them. The peppered turkey was very flavorful. The margarita was huge a while shaker with so be prepared.

burnt ends anyone ??large portions, great flavor

By martin c |

we visited recently on Fathers day ( I hate going out anywhere on holidays ) ....anyway there was a short wait as expected. Our server was quick on the service and great during the meal with refills and re orders also . I ordered the Pitmasters plate since I lone the burnt ends of the briskets . By the way , not a lot of places even know what burnt ends are . Wow , was I surprised ! This plate came with what looked like a small meat loaf on my plate ! this serving was huge . It was also extremely tender and loaded with flavor. The potato salad is always on point ... loaded with crunch and just the right amount of celery and onion . I also had their green beans and they were also very good . They were seasoned just right and were also a good sized portion . I had enough for lunch and then some for the next day . Granted, some , not all of the plates here can be a little on the upper mid-priced level , but you just get so much for your money . You can count on getting another meal out of it the next day . Nothing else compares by far !!

Terrible Food!!

By Terri S |

The ribs were terrible. I ordered half rack and the first bite I took was nothing but fat. The greens were completely mushy and the coleslaw was bitter and had no taste. I sent my food back and left!

Delcious BBQ!

By JDSoui |

Had a delicious dinner with 2 co-workers. The BBQ was much better than anticipated. the brisket was well seasoned and cooked as well as the spicy sausage that had a nice kick. The environment was welcoming and the service very attentive.

Too Smokey

By danidb518 |

We tried the 8 meat platter - a little of it all! Pork ribs were my favorite as was the potato salad. But the longer we were there, the smoke really started to bother me - nose & eyes. And it followed us home - in clothing and hair as well.

First Texas barbecue experience

By Rock of Rages |

Fantastic dinner. Had the 2 item combo, with brisket and peppered turkey breast. Both were tender, Smokey and delicious. Came with 2 sides, the side salad was fresh and huge, and the potato salad portion was the size of a snow globe! Finished it off with a slice of yummy pecan pie, way better than I'm used too. The service was attentive and friendly. The price was very reasonable for the Great meal I received. Thanks County Line for the perfect way to end my day.

Food great, service hit&miss

By lifesavr65 |

Visited this place twice while on business trip. First time was really good: food, drinks, and service. Tried the “meat sampler” in order to explore their BBQ. All was good. The sides are ehhhh…. sides. Second visit the food was really good, the service was horrible. The waiter “lost” our order, never came by except once, never brought out drinks. So…. Had to go back over receipt and get drinks removed. I would say visit but have no expectations of service or just sit at bar area and order from there.

Real Texas BBQ

By Greg G |

This is the original Texas roadhouse, Real Texas BBQ by folks that know how to do it!! Good food and plenty of it at a good price! You leave there hungry it's not their fault!

Lunch time August 23, 2017

By iraramz |

A great experience. Excellent service by Sam. The BBQ ribs are delicious and the potato salad. We enjoyed a nice afternoon at the wonderful restaurant. Thank you Sam for your kindness.

Cool down home bbq place with TVs to watch games....average bbq

By Grolsh |

Neat little place with a little bar for watching games and grabbing a drink. BBQ is very expensive and not worth it. I had wings which were good and they got my to go order wrong as I wanted to try the 1/2 rack of ribs and they sent me home with sausage, which was very very good. Their wing sauce was excellent as well. Not bad but not great.

Great grub!

By Alfredo C |

People who don't like this place are locos! The ribs are glorious. The service is splendid. Go... now.

Great Experience

By dschroyer |

I always enjoy coming to this place. The food and service is fantastic and it just melts in your mouth. I like the all you can eat and for my money that is the best value.

Dinner

By Espie O |

Beef ribs are out of this world. Juicy and meaty. Full of flavor Must try when you have a hearty appetite.

Yum BBQ

By JKreview |

We had some free time and went to the Riverwalk like tourists looking for some BBQ. We found County Line and gave it a try. I got the brisket and turkey with mashed potatoes and salad. My friend got the ribs. We both enjoyed pur meals and washed it down with a cold beer.

Food good service not so much

By Dee M |

We love the ribs here but the service has been getting worse and worse. Not sure our waiter even know we were there for some time. Hostess actually had to go get us drinks. I think he only had two table and had trouble keeping up. We ordered and completely ate before other table got their food. They never took any dirty dishes off our table at all. Sad given the food quality here.

Nasty

By campesinio |

I cant understand how anyone would say that the brisket is great. The fast food restaurant Bill Millers has better tasting meats. Locals will understand.

Good selection and very good BBQ

By Clarkston_Rambler |

The meat portions on the 3 meat combo were kind of small but the two sides are huge. The “best homemade bread ever” according to the waiter was too sweet for our tastes. Brisket was excellent. Overall very good.

Better options elsewhere

By Scott |

Very very basic bbq. Kind of a fast food bbq joint. It’s not horrible but we found it exceedingly salty. With so many authentic bbq places around I would skip this place.

YUMMY!!!!!!

By Julie B |

I have visited my parents here in the San Antonio area for YEARS eating @ many different places. I now live here & my husband plus, myself have tried bbq from the east coast to the west coast & we believe County Line is one of THE BEST! Our servers are ALWAYS EXTREMELY PLEASANT & we ALWAYS end up w/food to take home. It's even better day #2;-) ENJOY!!!!!

This is what they really mean by "finger licking good"

By Amanda P |

No matter if you are new to Texas BBQ or a seasoned veteran County Line is the place to try. They have a large variety of dishes to choose available that will surely satisfy your appetite. Be sure to enjoy the bread they serve as you wait for your meal, but save room for the main event; the BBQ! You don't want to miss out on the smokey and tangy flavor of their sauce on perfectly cooked brisket!

Pictures Don't Lie

By Mikebone55 |

Must be the Beers and Atmosphere that keep people returning, because it can't be the food..We ordered a full rack of baby back ribs, sausage and brisket..The ribs came out well done looking like leather with this ketchup(sauce) on top..Sent it back..Second was better but unremarkable..Not much flavor in the sliced sausage(prefer a link)..No bark or flavor on brisket..Only bright spot was our waitress..TOO many BBQ joints to choose from..Don't make this one of them..

Not the best bbq by far!

By Sarah E |

Great service. Not very good bbq. Even Rudy’s is better. The fried okra was good. The salad was good. The average rating is because of the service and the okra!

Best Texas BBQ

By Mark B |

If you haven’t eaten here. Come on down and get in. This is one of my favorite BBQ’s Ever time someone is visiting us. We take them here. I have never had bad service, or poor quality food. Everyone here is always so nice. The bread loaf and BBQ sauce is out of this world. I have tried pretty much everything here. IT’S all good.

Just Right Taste

By The_Case |

There's a reason why this place has been in the same place for so long: consistently good barbecue. I enjoyed the sliced brisket and the sausage, with the right amount of smoky ring on the brisket, plus great, flavorful potato salad and lots of barbecue beans. The service on this visit was especially good, since my waitress offered to take time to take a picture of myself with a friend of mine, even with a busy lunch crowd. Great time!

The mighty has fallen!

By Christopher P |

I used to love this place. It was a little more expensive than other BBQ joints but usually worth it. Not anymore! We came in during lunch on a Saturday. I was a little confused as to why it was so quiet. We found out why quickly. We were led to a dirty table, a lot of other tables were in similarly neglected. Service was slow and absent most of the time we were there. Surprising since there were so few customers. I ordered a plate I had ordered and enjoyed many times over the last few decades - the sliced brisket sandwich. Previously, the sandwich was full of tender, juicy brisket that overloaded a soft "homemade" bun and covered with a smokey barbecue sauce. This time however something has gone horribly wrong! All the flavorful bark had been cut off. The brisket was dry and bland. It also has about half the meat as in previous sandwiches. I had noticed on the menu that there was a new item, a brisket cut that specialized in the burnt ends of bark and was at an astounding $26. I should have known better and realized they stole all the best parts in order to gouge it's customers. If this is how County Line treats it's customers than they won't have to worry about my business anymore!

Love this place

By crwildwood |

Highlight of our annual visit from Phoenix is eating at County Line. I love the sausage platter, the bread is yummy, and yowza on the coleslaw. Hubby likes the baby backs and potato salad. Prices are decent, crazy, interesting interior. Currently, one of the best things was there's a PokeStop in the courtyard so you can gather 'poke balls' while eating!!

Never Disappointed

By 2casagatos |

Great atmosphere and great service. Food is always hot and authentic flavor, from the fresh hot bread brought out first to the variety of meats, sides and deserts.

Very Nice Resturant with Excellent Food

By Robert C |

Had lunch with friends at the County Line. Our waitress was great! She quickly took our drink order and returned just as quickly with the drinks. She then offer some suggestions for lunch and all four of us ordered some of the items she suggested! All dishes we ordered were variations of barbeque plates and they were delicious. I personally ordered a pulled pork plate that was excellent! Everyone commented on the great food! Very nice lunch!

I would have rated them higher but my husband did not care for his meal so much. It was a busy place so it is popular. I had the salmon, it was excellent as was the loaded baked potato that came with it, it was very big and was great. Also came with beans, I think they were supposed to be baked beans, it was hard to tell what they were doing with them, it was more of a bean soup, very blah and neither of us ate them. Luckily we were full enough as it was. My husband got the two meat combo and liked the chicken a lot, he got a leg and thigh so not his favorite part of the chicken, the brisket he thought was just ok. The beer there is bottles only. I had a margarita- it was supposed to be large $10.95 but it was mostly ice cubes.I would go again for the salmon and baked potato, honestly probably the best piece of salmon I ever had.

Great Time. Great Food. Great Service

My buddy and I had dinner here for the first time. Our server, Kevin, suggested the three meat meal. It was delicious. Kevin was courteous and professional and a delight to be around. The food and the overall environment was amazing. Definitely coming back.

Excellent BBQ & Service

We ate inside at the County Line and we were not disappointed. There were 7 of us total on a busy Tuesday. We waited 45 minutes for a table, but the wait on the riverwalk was no trouble at all. When we were sat down at a fun decorated interior that still had a view of the riverwalk outside. The server was friendly and personable and he made our visit fun. We all really enjoyed the BBQ. I got the 5 meat platter and it is a lot of food! But it is worth it for the price! Best deal on the menu for sure. The beef ribs were my favorite on the plate. Delicious!

Biggest Beef Ribs I've ever seen

What a great experience at the County Line! Service was excellent and the food was even better. I had the lite plate of 2 beef ribs with garlic mashed and mac n cheese. The ribs covered the entire plate, the garlic mash was excellent as was the mac n cheese. I also had the pain killer to drink. It was so smooth like drinking water! You can also make reservations online! Great place to eat and be with family as the staff also treats you like family. This shall be our go to place when in San Antonio. Bring your biggest appetite you will need it and a doggie bag to boot. If you leave this place hungry, it will be your own fault for not enjoying the food.

Texas BBQ....NOT

By Ron H |

Haven't been to a County Line BBQ joint in several years, but my association's board of directors decided to have a get-together with our spouses. I'm sorry to say it was a bad decision. Worst BBQ I've had in many, many years. Terrible brisket which is a "must" staple here in Texas. Chicken was tolerable at best. Beans had no flavor. Bread was stale. Best thing about the dinner was the beer was cold and the ice was good. Too bad, it use to be a good place but don't waste your money now.

Good ribs good alternative to the tex/mex and steak houses on the River Walk

By tachyonbb |

We stayed on the River Walk for a week. There are plenty of steak houses and tex/mex places so one night we decided to do something different. It was a good decision. The baby back ribs are great as is the sausage. Sausage tends to be dry but this one did not disappoint. Be aware that they serve Texas sized portions so bring your appetite. The building is quaint, service was excellent. A good experience.

Amazing food with Texas size portion

The staff was very friendly and the food was awesome! The portion was amazingly big and we had left over even after we ate until we were stuffed! We will definitely return here.

We enjoyed dinner at the County Line. The rib eye was very good and so was the sausage platter. Michelle was our server and she took good care of us. The cowboy lessons in the bathroom were funny.

Great barbeque!

This is a great restaurant for Texas barbecue. The service by Justin was good. We enjoyed the brisket platter and beef rib platter.

Have had much better

Ate here for dinner one night with co workers. You do get really big portions but personally I have had much better BBQ and thought it was expensive for the quality. Not too bad but it's not a place I will visit again.

Decent BBQ, Great Frozen Drinks, Good Customer Service - but no Draft Beer :(

By Keith B |

Prices are decent for the Riverwalk and the BBQ isn't all that bad. Portions are large and you'll get a plate full on most of the orders. Tried the chicken and sausage combo with fries and beans - wasn't disappointed. Like the fact they don't drown the food in sauce and you get it on the side. Did ask for some jalapeno peppers and they were from the bottle and not fresh (seeing how we were in Texas). Once thing we did notice - they'll get you in and out quick so if you'd like to spend time chatting after your meal may want to dine somewhere else. I guess the bottom line for me is what kind of BBQ joint doesn't offer draft beer. Cold beer and BBQ - heaven on earth.

Lovely food, great service

Excellent Texas BBQ

Our tour guide at the Alamo recommend County Line for BBQ. We loved it! Having lunch while sitting on the waterfront of Riverwalk. The BBQ Brisket was excellent and paired nicely with a Lone Star beer! Definitely worth finding this place for BBQ when at the Riverwalk.
