Don’t waste your time if there is a game on!

By Vicki1105 |

We went to Cover 3 this past Saturday at 4:45 to grab a quick burger. We were told the restaurant was booked for the Cowboy’s game, which didn’t start until 7. We told the hostess we just wanted a quick meal and were not interested in the game. She said we could eat outside, but not in the restaurant.....we declined as it was 58 and the temp was dropping.

great place

By Anna R |

this place is super nice, good atmosphere and food is great. we go on a regular basis and the service is always good. Plenty of TV's to watch a game

Try the soup

By Hrncirwr |

i had to giggle when my soup was served with a bow, flourish, and a sweet "your soup "M'lady". Thanks for a great meal, light hearted banter, and lovely service.

We loved Roaring Fork

By skgcdl |

Cover 3 has virtually the same menu as Roaring Fork with more TVs . Worth the drive thru traffic. Can't wait to try brunch

Not crowded, delicious lunch

By Susie A |

We cam here on a Saturday afternoon - it is in the middle of a business complex, so the typical business lunch crowd wasn't around. We had a larger group and had no issue with getting seated / served. Food was outstanding (grilled trout with double vegetables). TIP: if you get a chance, check out the Bloody Mary bar, looked like it was well stocked.

BEST SERVICE!

By AubryFTexas |

The best service, greatest wait staff, I have had the pleasure of meeting in a long time!! The food was delicious, and a great variety.

Great Service

By bibio952 |

I have to give them an "excellent" even just for the service. An evening meal with my wife, daughter and son-in-law proved to be surprising and just shows how far management will go to please customers and try to make things right. We had ordered Shrimp and Oyster appetizers. The Oysters were amazing but the shrimp seemed a little under cooked and we informed our waiter so. He was very apologetic and the manager also came and apologized. We then ordered the huge Rib-eye, about 20 something ounces and being so big my wife and I split it. The chef was kind enough to split the steak and put it on 2 separate plates. The crab sauce topping was places on top of the steaks but we had asked for it "on the side", no big deal and I didn't make an issue of it but the waiter apologized again and brought out and extra sauce topping for EACH of us. I can say that the Rib-eye was as tender as any Rib-eye I've ever had and had an unbelievable flavor, it truly was delicious. A nice selection of wines helped us finish off the evening and we all agreed that we would definitely return. The food was that good. When I asked for the check the manager came out and said he had taken the Rib-eyes off the bill, the most expensive item on the check. I told him how much we enjoyed the food even if the shrimp were a little under cooked and he didn't have to do that. He insisted that if everything wasn't perfect we didn't need to pay for it but hoped we would return, amazing. We will definitely return.

worst nachos in town

By migrider2016 |

Went to happy hour this past week and ordered the chicken tinga nachos. What a disaster! Soggy chicken with some kind of horrible smelly cheese with an aftertaste that lasted hours and several tooth brushings. My dentist is happy about that. Dudes: Tex Mex nachos are supposed to have sharp cheddar or something tangy like that. Not what you serve. Also, the chicken is soggy and tasteless. The up charged margarita was also sour and really bad in terms of San Antonio restaurants. Will not be going back there ever.

Just ok

By Alli P |

Went for lunch on St. Patricks Day, beer was not cold, ordered a burger to be cooked "medium" and it came out " very rare". Waiter asked if wanted to return it however entire table already had food so opted out He then asked if I wanted to box it up to take home :(. Very disappointing question. A young female manager came over to the table who was very awkward and inquired about it. In the end she took it off the bill which I was greatful. Previous experiences here have been great, filet sliders are really good.

Great food

By Ashley R |

We were in town with friends and stopped here for lunch, the bloody Mary's were good and I got nachos highly recommended. My husband got tacos and our friend got wings, they looked really good also. Would definitely go back.

Good food, good atmosphere

By Jon E |

Went to Cover 3 for Happy Hour. Their chicken sliders are really tasty and affordable. The place has a nice vibe with an array of age ranges 25-60. Beers cost $4-$5 which is standard for that part of town. I recommend Happy Hour because dinner can get pricey. Get there early if you want a seat at the bar as this place fills pretty quick.

Good experience for date night!

By ATravelingDad |

The wife and I stopped in for what was supposed to be a couple of drinks and turned into an impromptu dinner. We were sat after waiting at the bar for 10 mins, which was just enough time to order a drink and take to our table. We shared the Seared Ahi Tuna app which was perfectly cooked and very delicious. I was sad when we ran out of tuna. We also shared the Beef Tenderloin Sliders and Mahi Mahi tacos. The beef tenderloin sliders were great. The roll that the beef was placed within was very soft and the au jus sauce was spot on. The Mahi tacos were just ok, but not bad. The rice that came with the tacos was bland but that's ok as I wasn't going to eat it anyway. Overall we had a good experience with a courteous staff. We will be back again

Good Restaurnt

By Steve L |

Especially good restaurant for watching football games while eating/drinking. Nice inside with convenient parking. Great selection of food. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Great Eats

By Alli P |

Frequent Cover 3 for happy hour from time to time. The filet mignon sliders are the best. Have had the mac and cheese dish with chicken and it has always been good. Beers are always cold.

Good Brunch

By MkShel |

The make your own unlimited Mimosas were great! Fresh fruit and juice made them better than most! Selection is small for brunch options, but food was good.

Frito-Lay pie

By Kris P |

The frito pie was outstanding. They use steak pieces instead of ground beef. I wish I had some right now. The service was fine. Not too pushy. It is a bit loud and dark inside.

Solid Lunch

By txyanky |

Great place to have a business lunch. Food and service are both good. Menu has a large selection from salads to burgers. Place is loud enough to not be overheard, but not loud enough that you cannot hear the conversation.

Great Scallop

By Steve S |

It is a great upscale sports bar. The Scallops are sweet, tender and delicious and cooked properly. The are moist and soft not overcooked. They come with Asparagus and butter sauce. My wife likes the fish tacos. If Bailey is bartending the drinks will be great. It is pricey for a sports bar but we'll be back.

Upscale Sports Bar

By kellithetaz |

Cover 3 is a local upscale sports bar, which has a neighborhood feel with a very local following. The menu is fairly extensive, beyond a typical sports bar. There is everything from large meal-type salads to steak, fish, with a large assortment of appetizers. The mac-n-cheese is a house favorite and should probably be shared by the table. The bar area is always hopping and usually crowded - especially after 6pm and Thursdays & weekends. There is seating indoors, as well as outside on the patio- which is very popular. TVs are mounted all over every wall as well as outside. Beware that parking can be a pain, since the parking lot is shared by another restaurant. There is also a nearby parking garage.

Well worth the stop!

By Herman02 |

Full menu, full bar. Great service! We had hamburgers and they were really great! Seating inside and out. Stumbled on it by accident and it was a wonderful find!

Nice

By soonerinjapan |

I really enjoyed this sports bar. The food was very good. The service was outstanding. I enjoyed the décor and atmosphere.

My favorite Happy Hour place !

By Larry W |

In a trendy area of town. This place is EXCELLENT. We always eat appetizers and have drinks. The service is the best of any place I have been in that area of town. The staff must go through some very good training and they must also hire the best people. Every appetizer we have had has been nothing short of outstanding. Love the Brick Chicken sliders, Mac and Cheese, everything. Trendy atmosphere and very comfortable. Great place to watch sports on TV. No doubt that the place a bit pricey but to me it's well worth it.

Great night out

By Terry H |

We went to dinner with some friends Sunday night and we're so happy we picked this restaurant. There's such a great menu. And good wine list. A very high end sports bar. There were TV all around the restaurant if you wanted to watch.

One and only visit

By Jennifer R |

First off, I give very few negatives reviews. Everyone has bad days. However, this place needs a word of warning. The kids and I were looking for a place for dinner. Cover 3 had 4 stars, so we decided to give it a try. Bad decision. We were seated right away, which seemed like a great start. Unfortunately, that was the best part of the visit. Our waiter took our drink orders and when he returned we still needed a minute. 15 minutes later he was still standing at the bar chatting it up with his buddies. I finally had to get up and go get him. He took the order and didn’t address the fact that 3 of the 4 people at the table were out of drink. That was the last time we saw him. Another server brought our food (typical protocol, I’m cool with). But, we had no silverware. I asked that server for some and he said he would bring it right back. Next we saw him, he was delivering food to another table. So I had to grab yet another server. After another 10 minutes of not seeing our server, I went ahead and requested our check from yet another server passing by. She brought it back and started to leave. I had her wait until I could hand her my card. Yet another server (dressed differently, so possibly a manger) brought the check back. We signed the check and left. Service was atrocious and the food was subpar. Wouldn’t recommend under any circumstances.

Great time!

By 202tamikab |

Loved everything about the restaurant. Great ambiance and our waiter was very attentive. The Calamari appetizer, our entrées and cocktails were delicious! I would definitely be back.

Food great; service awful

By purplepony28 |

We've been here a bunch on Sundays for football with great success. First time here for dinner. Food is ALWAYS good. Our service tonight was dreadful. I hate to " call out" servers, but Marlena was slow. Had our service been better, the ticket would've been at least $50 higher. Disappointed. And it wasn't due to being crazy busy; just not good service.

In the dark

By sue t |

One of the most annoying things was the lack of lighting. Our booth had a burnt out bulb above it and we could not see the menu or our food. Seems like such an easy fix. The food was just moderate. Service was fine, but I wouldn’t rush back, because nothing stood out as worth seeking this restaurant out. There are too many options.

Horrible Bar!

By Orphea S |

Went here to watch the Cowboys game and had some drinks, got a little tipsy. Had intentions of taking an uber. However, the manager told friends if I left the bar they would call the cops and report a DUI. What kind of bar does that to their patrons? Can you not call them a cab or look for additional options? Stay away if you plan on drinking here.

Three Travelers 2017

By the3travelers2017 |

Food was very good. Service was prompt. Hostess seated us promptly. Waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. Waiter was familiar with the menu. Atmosphere was slightly too dark. Parking was difficult due to not many close parking spaces. Overall we enjoyed this restaurant and would definitely go again when we're in town.

See & be seen scene.

By Bruce L |

Popular drink & hang scene. Don't go for the food- very average. Nice bar and outdoor (covered) area. On the younger side clientele.

this is a cool and great place for brunch, lots of TVs going with all the local sports teams & golf

By Don J |

We had brunch on Sunday and it was packed and the food was delicious and the mimosa bar/bloody mary bar is awesome as well. We had great service. Food took a while because it was so busy, and we just had another drink

Great Sports Bar

By Rmontaudon7 |

Good variety menu and good food. The hamburger is excellent as is the Reuben. Service is usually good although today was slow and a bit sloppy. Ask for Hector. Very nice and great service.

Good choice for Sunday brunch

By Steve S |

Maiden voyage was for Sunday brunch - chosen because they advertised a Bloody Mary bar. I made a great one. All entrees got a thumbs up. Biscuits & gravy with 2 poached eggs was very tasty & just the right size serving. Breakfast enchiladas were the real winner. I think I will try it for dinner next time.

Happy hours of fun

By 490maggiw |

Have been here for lunch, dinner and for happy hours. Food is always excellent quality, cocktails and appetizers excellent. Great crowd and if you're looking to catch a game (any sport), there are plenty of big screens for that.

Great Happy Hour

By Larry W |

We go to Cover 3 a lot. We used to go to Wild Fish but this place IMO has better food and better pricing at Happy Hour. Feel of the restaurant is the best in the area. They open the large sliding wall doors to the outside patio most days and the patio also has a great feel to it. Staff is very well trained. The prices are a little on the steep side but deals are great at Happy Hour.

Great Happy Hour

By Alli P |

Came in for Happy Hour sat at the bar, had a few drinks. We ordered the Greek Calamari which was excellent. Great flavors! Happy Hour offers discounts on starter plates and drinks, was a nice outing.

Seriously??

By Jeannie07 |

I ordered the mahi mahi grilled tacos and although the presentation was nice I was only able to find ONE 1/2 inch by maybe 2-3 inch strip of fish in my second taco. I assume there wasn't much more fish in the first taco either. There was a TON of shredded cabbage on top hiding the one sliver of fish that I dug around to find. The reason I even noticed was after eating the fist taco I thought it didn't have much taste and I thought it was due to all the greens on top so I set about to clear some of the cabbage away but after finding only one small slice of fish I now know why there was not much of a taste to the first taco either. Pretty expensive taco for mostly cabbage.

Need brunch ?

By Jerome G |

Cover 3 is a must do whenever we visit family in San Antonio. Our most recent meal at Cover 3 was just a good as other visits. So, the review below is a duplicate of my review written last year: When you are in San Antonio (or Austin or Round Rock) and you are looking for a very nice, but affordable weekend brunch then find your way to Cover 3. This is an modern restaurant with a well developed menu which will please everyone - adults and kids alike. With the large format TV's I guess you can place a "sports bar/restaurant" label on Cover 3 but it is not overboard "sports" which could overwhelm your experience - all the TV's were muted and fans where not loud or obnoxious. The brunch menu is filled with well designed dishes with their own spin; ie. Eggs Wonderful is a Benedict with fried oysters, the Eggs Commodore were with sausage patties and the Breakfast Enchiladas with chicken and topped with a fried egg were done perfectly. Selections for the kids were all kid favorites - mac and cheese, burger and great fries, or chicken tenders. The Bloody Mary bar is definitely a place to stop for one or two or three (if you are not driving) - and get this, choose your vodka, Tito's was only $4 (a better bargain than the $3 Coke) - the "bar" had every imaginable item to dress up your Bloody Mary including bacon, shrimp, roasted red peppers, pickled veggies, etc. The staff was very friendly and efficient, they paid attention to our needs and treated the kids well. Pricing for the breakfast items was far less than expected and less than what you would find at many other breakfast centric locations. We will return for brunch and we will also try their dinner offerings too.

Brunch or lunch?

By Donald H |

We took friends out and the choice we faced was whether to have lunch or brunch. Three of us opted for lunch and one brunch. My wife chose brunch and had corned beef hash with poached eggs on top. First the eggs were cooked perfectly. She said the hash was excellent with an added bit of heat Texas style. Our guests both ordered Reubens with French onion soup. They rated both first class. I wanted to try the chili. It was all meat chunks with no beans. It was topped with cheese and onions. It definitely warmed me up with an appropriate amount of spice. If I ordered again I would get a cup instead of a bowl. It was very filling. Besides I had a lettuce wedge with blue cheese dressing to set my appetite. This is a nice sports bar/restaurant. I highly recommend it.

Nice Night Out for Birthday

By Andrew Grove |

Had a nice night out for birthday. Nachos and chicken fried New York strip were really good. Nice service and atmosphere. Not too crowded for a Saturday night. Will go back.

Great food and atmosphere

By SherylSM |

Just had the best dinner! The roasted brussel sprouts were amazing!! They have wonderful options for Keto dieters. Best restaurant in SA!

Sports bar meets wine bar

By Scuba_Divers |

This review may seem strange - there are large TVs everywhere but not obnoxiously loud. The bar area and outdoor seating can be a bit rowdy depending on the game, but sitting at a table you can ignore the TVs if you wish. Wine bar because of the large selection of good wines by the glass and a great menu. We love wine bars because of the food (and the wine of course). Other than the American food staples like Cobb salad and cheeseburgers the menu had shrimp enchiladas, seared mahi mahi tacos, flatbreads with grilled onions and kabobs. Not your average restaurant. Service good - not 5 star - but prices aren't exorbitant either. Free valet thanks to restaurant next door but I would skip the wait and self park in garage across the driveway which is 50 feet away.

Great sports bar with ambience and excellent food.

By Marion D |

By far the best sports bar in the area, and one of the best we've ever visited anywhere. Great atmosphere. Excellent food and drinks. Big, beautiful HD TVs everywhere showing all the major sports. Their gourmet burgers and cole slaw are the best I've ever had. A great experience all around.

Not just another sports bar

By Robert B |

I counted at least 25 big flat-screen T.V.s. Cover 3 used to be Roaring Fork. It closed for remodeling and re-opened some 7 months later. What a transformation. The place is well lit, clean, and the food is superb. There is always plenty of staff so you're not wanting for anything. Not only is the food exceptional, the prices are in line with sports bar fare but exotic entrées are offered as well. A brand new menu. A really nice bar. It would be nice if they offered more beers on tap. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and visit Cover 3. You won't be disappointed.

A Better Sports Bar

By Chuck R |

Cover 3 is a more sophisticated Sports themed restaurant. A welcome addition ever since Champps Americana was converted into a mexican restaurant. As you walk into the door, there is a big oval bar with plenty of seating. We arrived early and started with a drink at the bar. I ordered a Tom Collins, the bar tender had no idea how to properly make one. It tasted so bad I sent it back and got the house margarita on the rocks, which rocked. At dinner time, we were seated in a large, comfortable, horse shoe booth. The waitress was on top of things; quickly took our order, suggested dishes, and came back often to refresh our water and drinks. The food is what I call better comfort/pub food. Everything tasted good and we were pleased with the meal. It did take a little while to get drinks; the bar is their bottle neck. Cover 3 shares free valet parking with its neighbor Wildfish, a nice convenience.

First time here

By L H |

We do not live in the area but friends wanted to meet here one evening so we joined them. It was our first time and they do take reservations. It is located on the access road of Loop 1604 close to Huebner Rd. and was not difficult to find. There is some parking around the building but if you park behind it you have to walk around to the front to enter where the hostess is. There is also multi level covered parking across the street. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere with a large bar as soon as you enter. There was plenty of seating and the place had a good amount of customers. They also have outside patio seating. Our drink orders were taken quickly (house wine $7 glass) The waitress could have been a bit more friendly since it was a group of ten but she got all the orders correct. All of the food was a nice presentation and ample amount. The chicken fried chicken ($12) was tasty with a crisp crust and creamy potatoes. The Allandale Salad ($13) was delicious as was the honey balsamic vinaigrette that was served with it. We felt the pricing was a bit high but considering the location and atmosphere it probably was average. The menu is varied and priced for nicer bar scene. We spent more time there than expected and a good 45 min. of that was waiting to get our tab and then get it processed. We were all finished and no one was ordering anything else but our waitress disappeared and took forever to bring the tabs and then get them all processed. They have all night Happy Hour on Monday and Tuesday so might have to give them a try then to see what specials they have. It was upscale bar/grill and the noise level was not an issue at all. Nothing rowdy or blaring this night, which was nice so we could all talk and enjoy ourselves.

NYE Anniversary Dinner

By Lori M |

Wanted to go out, but nothing fancy or near downtown for NYE, so selected Cover 3 sports bar. We've been here many times, but this was the best visit so far. Kudos 3 times over for server, Kevin. Helpful, friendly and great customer service. C3 Cosmo excellent and at happy hour price all night. I had the blackened snapper. Didn't disappoint. French onion soup very good. My husband enjoyed his chicken fried New York strip. Peach breadpudding desert reminded me of England. And it was comp'ed since it's our anniversary. Good job to all. No NYE craziness. And the Spurs won!

Top 10 of San Antonio

By Stefan H |

Great service a cozy modern ambiance and high quality food. There will be no many restaurants which can beat this. It's a must if you are in San Antonio. Hard to find a restaurant like this.

Great Time on the Patio

By Deb B |

We had a large group of 14 last night and received outstanding service even though we were a lot of trouble. The person who organized the gathering requested to sit outside on patio. First of the group that arrived felt the patio was too hot, so they graciously moved us inside. Then the organizer showed up and really wanted the group outside, so we asked to be moved again, and the staff could not have been nicer! The food was great, drinks came quickly, service was outstanding. They kept accurate track of who was paying for what. As we left we asked to speak to the manager to compliment the crew who handled our group. I know many restaurants are struggling to find staff, but this place really has it together.

Great Happy Hour Place!

By Deb B |

I have been to Cover 3 several times and have always enjoyed it. Met some friends for happy hour recently and the food was again really good. It was crowded and our server was a little bit "absent" because she had a lot of tables to oversee, but that's almost to be expected in such a popular place. The prime beef sliders are so good, served with yummy thin cut french fries. Sampled their shrimp appetizer and it was great as well. Discounts on wine during happy hour are only $1 a glass, but their wine prices are reasonable to start with. Good vibe and good food.

Great Sports Bar

By Michael B |

The best thing about Cover 3 is the sports bar atmosphere. After just moving to San Antonio I wanted to find a great place to watch football, drink beer and have good food. I found that at Cover 3. Beer cold and reasonably good selection of on tap beers. Not outstanding but good enough. The food is good and pretty diverse menu. French fries "ok". They have Parmesan cheese and are just so-so. Wish they had just plain fries. Burgers are good. Pretty good salad selection. Bloody Mary bar on weekends. I recommend it. Plenty of tvs and very responsive to turning on your favs. Bar service ok and nice outdoor seating. Not sure you will find much better in San Antonio.

A sports bar with great food!

By janb84 |

This is one of our favorite places to go to in north San Antonio. Lots of tv's for watching all the games. Great atmosphere. You can sit inside or outside. The food is above and beyond the average sports bar fair. Drinks are always good.

Great Happy Hours

By Diver_Walt |

I've done Happy Hour here numerous times and have always been impressed with the food and the quality of the drinks.

Great place for Happy Hour or Dinner

By Michelle W |

Visited here for Happy Hour and sat on the patio. Had their boneless chicken wings. Excellent! Great service, food and drinks. Prices are slightly above mid-range.

Brunch with my Bestie

By Suzy O |

A well deserved Brunch with BFF would had just lost everything to Hurricane Harvey. She needed to have some R&R and I knew Cover 3 was the place for a great brunch. The Bloody Mary Bar is such a treat with so many options and great food it will be a crowd pleaser!

Great Service and Atmosphere

By shadow17 |

We spent a great evening at Cover 3 watching sports on TV. This place provides outstanding service and the bartenders are superb! They pour a serious drink here! The appetizers were excellent and the menu provides for many different choices. Our Ranch Wings were a bit overcooked but were still very tasty; everything else was excellent. The Fried Pickles, Calamari, Flat Bread and Sliders were all done to perfection. Jason and his crew do an excellent job!

very good sports bar

By MikeHo711 |

We like this place for its food and beer selection. The service is excellent and the value is perfect. The sliders, especially the chicken-fried chicken with the green chili sauce is excellent.

Great for Sports

By Michael B |

Great sports bar. Wide selection of beers and liquor. The food is a notch above the usual food you find in these places. Wide selection and actually delicious. Great selection of football games and tons of flexibility when asking for certain games on certain TVs. Friendly staff, really good food, cold beer, all the football you can takes...need I go on??? Thanks Cover 3.

Much quiter than expected

By Carol R |

We came here as a party of 12 and received excellent food and service. Various appetizers and entrees were ordered and most everyone was pleased with their food. The only miss was the Tres Leches dessert which had a strange cornbread-like texture. We had not come to this restaurant previously because we assumed that it would be a loud sports bar type of atmosphere (and it may be like that during special play-off games) but on this Saturday evening it was quite pleasant and easy to visit with others.

Not too shabby!

By TotRet W |

Party of 8 on Sunday evening. Gave food a 3.5 . Decent variety on menu. Ample servings, but not much flavor & beef on burgers & sliders was very dry. Alcohol menu was good. Service by Adalyn was a 5. She was prompt, efficient & personable. Ambiance was a 4. Nothing special but good music. Overall a 4. Nice place

Great place for lunch!

By Friartuc |

I am part of a group that meets for lunch about every other month. Since we landed on Cover 3, we have made it our "regular" place. The food is good and the service is excellent. It is a bit noisy, but really not a problem if you want to have a conversation. If you don't, there are television screens everywhere to catch up on all the sporting news of the day. From Cobb Salad to Burgers to Chicken and even Buffalo Wings, everything has been tasty over at least 8 lunches. They will even cook the Buffalo Wings without breading, in case you are low carbin' it! My wife and I have been to Cover 3 for an evening meal and ordered a selection of appetizers. We enjoyed them all. This is a great place for lunch.

This restaurant is VERY LOUD!

By thehappywayfarer |

On its own I would probably rate the food and service at Cover 3 a 4 out of 5 but the restaurant was so loud, all I could think about was finishing my meal and getting outside to find some Advil. The waitress was very pleasant and reasonably efficient. The food was standard high calorie, high carb sports bar food. The menu had a decent variety and the food was served warm. Everything was good but not great, especially when considering that San Antonio is a foodie town with some of the best restaurants in the US. The acoustics were so bad that my wife and I could not carry on a conversation with the other couple who joined us. In addition to all the televisions, there was some sort of loudspeaker and the bar was packed with men cheering or cursing every time something happened on TV. Inexplicably, they offer valet parking even though it's located in a suburban strip mall. With the quantity of calories you're going to consume, the few extra steps to the parking lot will be welcomed. Cover 3 would be a good place to go alone to watch sports on TV but don't go if you want to have a conversation with your dining companions. It's definitely not a good choice for date night. For a more inspired meal, head to The Pearl or South Town.

Good Place For Happy Hour, Average Food..

By MichelleGrenier |

I met a friend at Cover 3 tonight for the first time. Great crowd and good energy for a Thursday night. It was a mix of young and older folks there, which was nice to see. We sat at the bar, had a few drinks and appetizers. The drinks were moderately priced. I had rum and cokes which were $7 a piece. Where the disappointment came was with the food! I ordered chicken quesadillas. It looked great but not very flavorful. It came with about 3 tablespoons of guacamole and some picante sauce. No sour cream! Say whaaat?! I’d go back and try one more time, but there are better places to go in the area.

Great happy hour appetizers

By Doug P |

After picking up a friend from the airport, we stopped y for a quick bite during the extended happy hour on Tuesday. We ordered two appetizers and had enough to eat for dinner and to take home!

Business Lunch

By Jerry M |

Good food and very good service. Lovely location but it was cold as hell inside! The food was very good although a bit pricey.

New to me!

By Karrie P |

Went to Cover 3 for a mid week lunch with co-workers. It was such a lovely day that we sat out on the covered patio. It was a bit too leisurely for a working lunch but the food was really good. All of us had something different to eat. All of us commented that we liked what we got and would be returning in the future. The prices were a little on the high side for what we normally pay for lunch, but since the food was so good was worth it.

Good food, service needs work

By WildElMolo |

We went there as part of San Antonio's Restaurant week. We both ordered the French onion soup and Po'boy shrimp sandwich and a dessert. The waiter seemed confused, did not know what the soup of the day was and made a rather lame excuse for not knowing. (I used to be a waiter many years ago. so I know lame when I hear it.) I ordered a green tea and waited and waited and finally had to ask another waiter to get it. This was my first and probably would have been my last visit to this place where it not for the food. The French onion was excellent with a good quality cheese on the giant toast, just like I like it. The shrimp Po'boy was excellent, very tasty with a nice spicey sauce. The waiter forgot the dessert and we had to remind him. Frankly by this time I was rather annoyed and forgot what the dessert was, but I do remember it was very good. This is a good place for a reasonably priced and tasty Sunday brunch, just pick a good waiter.

Food and service was very good

By JimC2626 |

Met my wife here on a Friday night. Enjoyed drinks and dinner. We had an appetizer (chips with salsa and,,guacamole) then split the red fish. Both were very good. Only drawback to Cover 3 is that it is a sports bar and can get loud. But overall, we enjoyed our visit and will return.

A huge pile of fail.

By ChampagneChels |

I had such high hopes for this place but the horrible service ensures that I will never return. The wrong beer was brought to the table, over 20 minutes after we ordered it. And it did not get any better from there. Then the waiter proceeded to argue about what beer was brought. Even if we were wrong (which we were not) don’t argue with us. And then we were charged for the wrong beer and not even given happy Hour process even though we ordered over 30 minutes before Happy Hour ended. A huge pile of fail.

Very impressive restaurant. This was my first visit. Good menu choices and good wait staff. Will definitely visit again when in San Antonio.

Not so happy hour

By JustaChef53 |

Came here for happy hour, ordered the Octoberfest Sam Adams, server brought half a glass and said it was th bottom of the keg and the next full glass would be free. The beer was bad,,,NASTY bad. Told the server to cancel the beer but he swore the fresh keg would be good. Well, it was not that much better, switched to Dos Equis which was somewhat better. NOW,,the food part. Had the Beef nachos, Grecian calamari and Reuben sandwich, even though it all tasted OK when we got it,,the after effects were not that great,,the reverse flow was almost immediate. Did not get terrible ill but definitely did get sick due to food. The place is moderately pricey at $4 for a pint, $10 for appetizers at happy hour, the music is loud as is the place in general, they do have quite a few TV's on various sports channels (perhaps that's the best part). Next time I'll skip over this place, go to Wildfish (a sister restaurant next door) a bit pricer but at least there's a raw bar or better yet,,Yardhouse (a few miles west) for a larger selection of better priced 1/2 Yards of better Draft beers for a couple extra $$. SORRY COVER 3,,,YOU DIDN'T SCORE WELL!

A solid lunch

By Wayne E |

I ate here when it was a different restaurant, it is a short walk from my clients office. I had to try the Frito Pie lunch special, it was not like any Frito Pie I've ever eaten before. The Chili was big chunks of beef on top of Fritos, cheese, onions and a sauce. If you are expecting traditional Frito Pie, you won't like it, but if you're open to gourmet Frito Pie, this is your dish. My client enjoyed soup and Caesar Salad with grilled Chicken.

It was Great!

By Ellen L |

Advertised as a sports bar, it didn't really seem like one except for the TVs. The crowd last night wasn't really watching TV. Drinks were good and food was really good with a surprising large menu. Service was excellent! We had a group of 10 with lots of food and drinks and the servers did a fantastic job. Will definitely go again.

Drinks & Apps are Good!

By tomuchpriss |

I've been here for dinner and drinks a couple of times and the food and drinks are pretty good! The Happy Hour Drinks and Appetizer specials are decent and the flat bread pizza is very good and crunchy.

Good food

By WildHaireAdventures |

Had dinner here while visiting the San Antonio area and liked it. The food was good and the staff was helpful and helpful with the menu. Our service was timely and food portions were very large, we would definitely return.

Huge Bar Area, Lots of TVs, OK Food

By alg3773 |

For drinks and appetizers this place rocks. For dinner, the food is on average good. I would still go back. Ambience is lively. Very spacious. Lots of TV everywhere giving it a sports bar feel. it's a cool place to hang out.

Tried it out for lunch

By L H |

We had only been here once before years ago and decided to try it again for a late lunch on a Monday. It is easy to find on the access road of Loop 1604 going east between Huebner Rd. and Blanco Rd. Parking was no problem except there is no parking regular parking in the front of the building, which faces away from the access road, so you have to walk around the building. There are two handicap spaces in front and a few in the lot to the side of the front entrance. We were greeted and seated quickly. There are several sections with both booth and table seating. Our waiter Aryan came timely and was very nice and efficient. The tables have a QR code or you can request paper menus. The food offerings are varied and have a twist on usual fare. We ordered Doug's Reuben ($13.95) and the Shrimp Platter ($16.95) along with ice tea ($3.25). The food was served timely for the order and both were plentiful. The reuben was on marble rye and full of corn beef, swiss cheese, kraut and spicy Russian dressing. It came with a side of skinny parmesan fries. The sandwich was a bit messy but very tasty and filling. The fries were crisp and no a load of parmesan which was just right. The shrimp platter came with 8 good size crispy fried butterfly shrimp and skinny parmesan fries. The crust on the shrimp was very crusty and slightly overpowered the shrimp but they were still good. The noise level was low as it wasn't very busy mid afternoon. This place seats a lot of people though and probably could be noisy during prime hours. There is also a covered outside patio with table seating. I would consider this an upscale bar/grill environment, especially in the evening.

Vegetarian lunch

By BcT0828 |

They were awesome by accommodating to vegetarian standards. Had a great meal. Changed cheese enchilada meat sauce to a yummy red sauce without meat.

There is no bad seat in the house to watch your favorite game!

By Ruth H |

Our favorite place for a business lunch! The variety of foods are well thought out. Our favorites have been the Chicken Tinga Nachos and Green Chile Beef Tacos. You can't leave without sharing a Peach Pudding Cake! Great place for sports fans to watch their games. There is not a bad seat in the house!

"Upscale Dining With A Love For The Game" = TV's Everywhere, Even the Bathroom

By Crystal Warner |

"Upscale dining with a love for the game." Although they have many different sports games playing on various flat screen TV's throughout the bar (and even in the bathroom!), this is way more than just a sports bar. The food is great (ahi tuna, flatbread pizzas, etc.) and I really like the ambiance of the outdoor patio area with hanging Christmas tree lights and fire pit with longhorns above it. Very Texan, and I'm a Texan at heart. :) Unfortunately I didn't notice this until I was on my way out, but they have a really cool make-your-own Bloody Mary bar that looked really cool too.

Cognitive Dissonance

By Mr. V |

As you may imagine, I have mixed feelings about this place. I used to come to this establishment before Cover 3 existed. It was called Roaring Fork (which was delicious by the way.) I digress- Cover 3 has great food, however it is a peculiar fusion between a sports bar and a gourmet kitchen. This means that the place looks nice, but there are flat screens TVs everywhere and the noise and people to go along with it (especially game nights.) This is where I find myself troubled... for me a sportsbar is something like buffalo wild wings or the sort. It feels odd to be in a place where the place is two things at the same time. If you´re looking to go have a peaceful meal, look elsewhere. If you´re looking for a place to go catch up with your buddies and watch some football after the office, come along in your suit and tie. Overall, I rarely come and when I do I always have the same opinion- ¨The food was great, but boy that place is uncomfortable...¨ Food for thought.

Brick Chicken Is To Die For

By 6killer67 |

The brick chicken is amazing! The brick chicken sliders are equally delicious! Nice and casual, the environment can get a little loud with so many sporting events being broadcast from the numerous monitors around the restaurant. We've hit this place a couple of times for date night and keep coming back. The variety on the menu is nice and the food and service is consistently excellent.

Overall great

By BVS29 |

Went here to watch a few Spurs games. Great ambiance, service and food. Their mc&cheese is real good. Also the tortilla soup and brick chicken.

Birthday Lunch

By Rita Kay D |

We had the Allandale Salad which was delicious! Although we were there for lunch, it is quite a meeting place for young couples and singles during the happy hour and dinnertime.

Need brunch ?

By Jerome G |

In San Antonio (or Austin or Round Rock) and you are looking for a very nice, but affordable weekend brunch then find your way to Cover 3.

Awesome Brunch Menu

By Celia G |

Bloody Mary Bar- EXCELLENT; Brunch Menu- 2 thumbs up.................Sat in the bar area, the bartender who was also our server at the table was very attentive and friendly. I don't have any complaints as far as brunch goes....great service, great food and reasonable prices.

First class sports bar!

By Donald H |

These folks have defined a sports bar by having a great menu, upscale environment, and superb service. I went at lunch and was pleased with the choices on the lunch Bly menu. It provided options for most tastes. And--if you want to extend your options dig into the regular menu. I asked for a recommendation off the lunch menu and I was steered to the half Reuben and bowl of onion soup. It was a great recommendation as both were excellent. If these two are representing all the options you will not be disappointed.

Good Patio and Happy Hour

By Deb B |

I had not been here in awhile and had never been on the patio. I met two girlfriends here for happy hour and it was really good. The service was efficient and friendly, and that night bottle of wine were half price. We shared the Allendale salad and the margarita flatbread and both were very good and big enough to share. There was even live music which was a nice surprise as it wasn’t so loud you couldn’t talk. Great visit, I’ll be back.

Lunch on the Run

By Suzy O |

Only had a quick 50 minutes for lunch today and the day before the July 4th, we were in and out on time and as always the staff delivered an amazing fresh and super deliocius Allendale salad x 2!!!

Fantastic

By Yorka V |

This place is a hidden gem. Food is fantastic, service is great and mimosas are a must. Highly recommend during Sunday brunch. Call in advance if you are taking a large party. Food is delicious

Maybe, Still Not Sure

By mooneynut |

We've been to Cover 3 twice now, and both visits were not without their challenges. Food has been average to above average, the atmosphere is good, the service has been prompt and attentive, prices are slightly higher than the surrounding area. Unfortunately, as a self proclaimed upscale sports bar, they should not allow employees to congregate and play with young children at any time. There are plenty of establishments in the area that cater to families, and a bar should not be one of them. If our next visit involves having staff entertain children around our table, we will make it our last visit.

Delicious food and great service!

By Adventure Scout |

Cover 3 + Blackened Snapper with Blue Crab = DELICIOUS!! Great service and ambiance while enjoying great food.

Very disappointing

By rvbikelady |

A friend had been here before and since it was convenient for both of us, we met here for lunch. I had the soup and salad - a caesar salad and a chicken soup with a red broth. The caesar salad had VERY little caesar taste - basically a tasteless salad, and I don't think I ever found any chicken in the soup. My friend didn't say much about her meal, but only ate about 1/2 of it, and didn't take the rest home, so I am guessing she was not enthralled with her meal. Service was only ok.

I just don't get all they hype

By Trenton B |

I have been here 2 times and each time, the food was ok. I just don't understand all they hype. They have unique food offerings, but I just don't feel their prices reflect the value. I have no complaints whatsover. Staff is friendly (except the hostess...she looked inconvenienced and irritated) and food is good...it's just not great. Maybe I'm not their target audience. I would not choose to go here; I would go if my family wanted to.

I keep coming back!

By RhondaHTrip |

The menu is great, wait service attentive and very friendly in a low key way, and the prices very reasonable. Delicious food, and the happy hour will make you very happy with the reduced price menu and drink choices 7 days a week!

Excellent addition to the Stone Oak Area

By Bill M |

Good food - great service over 5+ visits - plenty of TV's and a large variety of sports on - will get the game you want on for you.

Easy place to go, enjoy food and watch the Spurs

By Kevin K |

We go here sometimes with our daughter, so that she can be a little louder, and we can watch games on TV and have a decent meal. They have a good selection of flatbreads, salads and a few other unique offerings. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and it is overall a very good experience.

Lunch

By lindakerr8 |

Recommended by a friend so decided to try for lunch. Excellent food and peach cake was amazing!!! However, service was disappointing….delivered food and never refilled drinks, had to ask for my dressing as I asked for it on side. Then came with bill; didn’t ask if we wanted dessert, which we did….never asked how meal was! No military discounts given…..so for a $95 lunch with disappointing service we won’t be back

One of my favorites

By Sonja709 |

This is one of my favorite spots in San Antonio. I visit regularly. My favorite is their Cover 3 slaw. It's delicious. I also really like the nachos. My husband really likes their chicken fried chicken. They have a good brunch as well. I like to go with my husband because we can watch sports their. I like to go with my friends because it's a good atmosphere for happy hour and just shooting the breeze with friends.

You're better off at a cheaper "sports bar".

By Sandoval77 |

HORRIBLE FOOD!!!!!! Burger I had was horrible, the "big tex" came with a tostada. The tostada was there but I must've been cooked in warm grease since that's was all you could taste. The fries were just as bad, they aren't regular fries that you'd get at a normal restaurant they are the generic fries that you get frozen from the grocery store...... The beer was cold. Our waitress was great, great atmosphere.

Great Place

By Michael Schlatter |

This is a great sports bar/restaurant. My wife and I have been here many times. TVs are everywhere. Their happy hour is very generous, with $$$ off both drinks and appetizers. The food is delicious. My wife gets the seafood tower salad every time. She loves it. Tonight I had their Reuben sandwich. It was piled high with tender corned beef. Couldn't have been better. The staff is very friendly and efficient. Prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend Cover 3.

Great lunch options

By Jon E |

Went here with coworkers for an early lunch. The entrance off the eastbound frontage road is a little hidden and you can't really see Cover 3 until you're right at the driveway. The entrance is on the west side of the building somewhat away from the parking. They have a small lunch menu in addition to their main menu. It has several interesting options. It includes a grilled steak burrito that was excellent - served over a flavorful dark sauce with a cup of queso for dipping. Rice and beans on the side. We also had a frito pie and ahi tuna salad. We would return if we had business in the area. Seems like it would be a good place for a HH as well with a large covered outside patio area that would be good when the weather cooperates.

Doesn't live up to the hype

By Brien K |

I certainly wouldn't consider this an upscale sports bar. It is clean and has numerous TVs but the food was mediocre at best and the beer selection leaves a lot to be desired. This was the very first time we ever had to return chicken wings for being under cooked. The service was good so I'm sure we'll be back to give it another shot. For now I consider the Yardhouse a better option for sports, beer, food and good rock n roll.

Excellent Food & Atmosphere

By Sausheim |

Chicken Fried Beef Tenderloin is out of this world. Best "chicken fried steak" I've ever had, so tender you can nearly cut with a fork. Also, not many better places to sit and watch a game. From every table in the restaurant you can easily see one of the numerous tv's. Also a great outdoor and bar area.

Nice Place

By Nashon M |

I have attended Cover 3 on several occasions i.e. Dinner, happy hour, late night drinks. Overall the food is good but not captivating. I never find myself just wanting to go back but I never mind going if someone makes the suggestion.

Fun place with good food and lively atmosphere

By william s |

Three couples went out for a casual dining experience in our neighborhood. Having been at Cover 3 for happy hour a few times, we felt we should give it a try for dinner. The selection of menu items was broad and everything at our table looked and tasted perfect. Like most sports bars, TV sets were everywhere but they were unobtrusive.

Tasty New York Strip and Garlic Mashed Potatoes

By Dave H |

I haven't been here since Cover 3 took over the previous restaurant. We came on a Thursday at &PM during Restaurant Week. It was packed but we got a seat quickly. Looks like a big happy hour crowd. Service was good and there are tons of TVs with all kinds of televised sports. For my meal I started with the pimiento cheese. The menu said it was served with crackers, but they used pita chips, many of which were broken bits. Bottom of the bag? I had the Romaine Salad that was good. It was like a deconstructed Caesar salad. My entry was the New York Strip with Garlic Mashed potatoes. Both were excellent. Dessert was some cake that escapes my memory.
