Omar was brilliant and arrange for a dish that was not on the menu at the time to be served for our elderly relatives. The whole experience was top class.

Let’s start off by mentioning how amazing ROY our server was. Immediately we felt like family upon arrival suggested amazing plates. They were all fantastic and delicious. BEST VIEW TOO! It’s hard to find good lunch spots when you’re visiting for the first time But San Diego Mission Bay resort made our stay AMAZING! If I could give it 10 stars, I would! Thank you, Roy for the amazing hospitality and for your amazing service !

Pete and Steve are amazing! Very friendly, attentive and fantastic vibe. They make amazing drinks and the food was absolutely delicious!

Had the best time here! Sami was amazing, so helpful and made the most delicious drinks I’ve had in San Diego. I definitely recommend stopping bye during your stay! The False Bay Paloma and the Hugo Spritz were our favorite!

Jaden and Chris at plaza de sol were amazing, the drinks were on FIRE, creativity was on point, and the vibe was to die for.

Roy served us our lunch. He was so professional yet personal. A delight to have him wait on us. We sat outside, and the staff turned on the fire pit and also the heater, so it was so comfortable -- and with such a striking view!!

The food and service was great! I had the Cubano and it was one of the best I’ve had. Our sever Roy was awesome and the atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant was really cool.

My wife and I had lunch for the first time a day ago. What a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere was fantastic. The food was wonderful. The jewel of it all was the service. Jorge M & Mariano were wonderful. Their service was 5 stars, looking forward to come back again.

We went for dinner not expecting too much for a hotel restaurant and we’re so pleasantly surprised how delicious the food was for dinner! We had the lobster Mac and cheese and it was rich and delicious. We also had the clam chowder and it had tons of clams and it was so flavorful. For the entree we had the noble salad and the cherry pork chop and it was amazing! So so good! Our waiter Miguel A and Santi O. were also so attentive the whole night. They made sure we were taken care of and our toddler had a nice time as well. Would absolutely go for dinner again.

Stephen and Andrew were awesome. Delicious food. Great setting. We had the steak, trout and fish soup, all were amazing. Great drinks too. We saw fireworks and the sunset on the bay was lovely.

After a wonderful massage on Sunday, I enjoyed lunch at the poolside bar, and it turned out to be the perfect way to continue a relaxing day. Steve G was tending the bar, and I ended up staying much longer than planned after finishing my meal. The drinks were refreshing, and both Steve and the waiter staff were incredibly welcoming. The view of the bay was just what I needed to truly unwind and find my happy place. Thank you for the warm hospitality, I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

Was in town for food tasting for an event. Roy served us with such a great personality and very professional. Made sure we were all taking care of. We had lunch twice in Covewood Restaurant while we were staying at the resort and both times we were served by Roy. We found him to be very friendly and fun. He was a great server and our food was delicious! We enjoyed both times we were served by Roy.

We booked a cabana and had a great time at the pool. Loved the pool restaurant and food. Shout out to the servers, Angel, Nate and Danny working the last day. Angel took great care of us. The bar tender Steve made a great mojito for me. They were out of the passion fruit liqueur but made me one with the hibiscus liqueur. The food was bomb! Jason and Loni were great with our special request to grill our daughters pb & j. Looking forward to when it opens again in spring.

Stephan and Nak made us feel as though we were the only customers in the restaurant. The food was amazing, and the service was outstanding.

Roy was amazing! We were there with friends doing a tasting for an upcoming wedding . He was exceptionally polite and courteous. The experience was heightened with his exceptional service. His willingness to ask the desert designer about the flavor of the cotton candy macaroons went above and beyond. So helpful

Amazing service. The pool restaurant stopped serving food, and we were pleasantly surprised by the options available at the cove restaurant. Our servers/bartenders Vic & Jon took great care of us. We came as an extended family of 10 from 2 years to 70+ years and everyone was satisfied. The best part was the bonfire and letting the kids run amuck on the beach.

Our Servers, Roy and Santiago were amazing, helpful and a joy to be around. They were there when needed and gave us space to enjoy a marvelous dinner. My wife loved the Wedge Salad and the ciopinno was perfectly prepared a d delicious. Kudos to Chef Roy and the staff for creating such a pleasant atmosphere and such a high quality dining experience.

Great bayside views with delicious food. Service is friendly and sweet. One nice touch is their new sunset bell ritual to embrace the moment. Ask to ring this at sunset.

We stay here every year after the Pacific Islander Festival. We have the kids go to the pool while we relax, eat and drink. We received great service from Nancy, Julia, and Salvador. The next day we had breakfast and Julian served us. We’re grateful for the amazing service. We’ll be back next year. Thank you.

We love coming to the Mission Bay Resort when we come to San Diego. It is conveniently located close to EVERYTHING, but peaceful and relaxing at the same time. Roy has been here longer than I can recall at the Covewood Restaurant and he is so pleasant and makes you feel like you are at home. This is the perfect place to eat and unwind over a nice drink and relaxed dinner watching the sailboats and sail boarders. Come at sunset and find the perfect place to watch the nightly fireworks from SeaWorld. Great food and amazing scenery and ambience. We will 100% be back.

My wife Leslee, and I, spent a long weekend at Covewood Resort, the end of November. Every single expectation was met, while unexpected offerings by the most wonderful employees made our first experience at Covewood, the first of many. While all of the employees were exceptional, a gentleman in the restaurant, serving our table, named Moses, is one of many that I will remember!!! Thank you CoveWood!!!

Outstanding food and service at Covewood. We were here for a week and by mid-week decided we didn't need to waste time going anywhere else. While the prices are a tad high, the quality and variety of the food was fantastic. All of the staff have an owners mentality and are the level of professionalism one hopes to find, especially on vacation. The team members that stood out: Kay, Steven, John, George and Mike. Not to mention the support team that worked with them but we didn't get all of their names.

Rave, rave, rave. This meal was divine. Just insanely, perfectly delicious. We ordered the pork chop and short rib. Both probably the best food we've eaten this year. The gnocchi had a toasty smoky porky deliciousness, the pork chop was cooked perfectly, and my favorite part was that there was enough food to just keep enjoying and savoring every bite (long past when I was full but it was sooooo good!). :D The water venue was gorgeous, and it was pleasant to walk through the resort property after. What a treat! Wish I had time to try the whole menu!

I brought my client here for her 98th birthday and we both enjoyed every bite, especially dessert. Our server was Roy and he went above and beyond. The renovated space is beautiful!

Went here because I had some time to kill. Boy oh boy did I pick the right spot. Jaden and Brady were the only two that were working and they crushed it. I’ve never had better service at a bar or resort period. I can’t wait to go back and see them. Drinks and food were also fantastic.

We ate dinner at Covewood on the patio with fireplace since dining room was full. We ordered food and drink through Sami the bartender who was so wonderful. Friendly and helped us with asking kitchen for just butter noodles to satiate the kids. Great experience and atmosphere. Short rib bolognese and Cobb salad were excellent

My sister and I spent the evening soaking up golden hour by the water, and the team running the show—Chris M. and Salvador—were the kind of hosts you wish every bar had. Warm, quick-witted, and totally dialed in, they brought serious hospitality with zero pretense. Whether you were ordering a fancy cocktail or just asking for extra napkins, you got the same genuine energy: chill, friendly, and on point. And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better—Tralain started to sing. Whew. Smooth, soulful vocals floated over the bay breeze. Her voice, the sunset, the whole ambiance—it was magic. Literal magic. This wasn’t just a casual evening out. It was a mini staycation for the soul, served up with sunshine, good music, and the kind of people who make you feel like family from the jump. Locals, tourists, whoever—you need this in your life.

Food was inventive and great tasting. Server Omar was terrific, and rest of staff was helpful as well. Room was open and clean, but probably better suited to summertime San Diego weather than late December. Took my mother there for a birthday dinner and the entire experience was just right across the board.

We went for happy hour one day and then returned the following evening for dinner. We had the calamari, oysters, scallops and gnocchi. The food was wonderful! Stephan took excellent care of us both days! He and Juan L. provided exceptional service.

Excellent spot tucked away in Mission Bay Resort. Jorge M and Alex P were fantastic. I was underwhelmed with the waffle (it was only a waffle without any fixings!) and Jorge did an incredible job of bringing some side fruits, cream, and butter to make a delicious waffle and complete our brunch experience. If you go, ask for Jorge!!

We were welcomed by a friendly staff, and received wonderful customer service from Anna and Alex. The recommendations for food choices were fantastic. We sat on the patio with lovely views, delicious food, and had a private fireside table to enjoy our luncheon. Thank you SDMBR for offering such a great location to enjoy our meal.

This place has a very hospitable ambiance it was an amazing place to have brunch with a beautiful view they also had live music. I stopped by with some friends The vibe and the service was spectacular we had Mosses as our server and he was the kindest, making sure we had everything we needed and going above and beyond to make us feel welcome. I had the mango & Jicama salad!! Absolutely amazing and also club sandwich I can’t wait to come back this place is a true gem.

Came here for breakfast with my husband and both ordered the acai bowl, avocado toast and the smoked salmon. The food was delicious! Roy our server was great and super friendly. Always made sure everything was good. Definitely coming back.

Love this resort restaurant! The decor is light, fresh and modern with a very coastal California vibe. Right on the water with options to deck dine or cozy up inside. Has a community table for larger groups or to mingle with other patrons. We loved the cozy chairs by the fireplace this particular visit. Our servers were Anna and Santiago and they took great care of us! Friendly with good menu suggestions and very accommodating when we had special requests. Our food was excellent! Had halibut, short ribs and chocolate flourless cake…all very tasty, tender, and perfectly prepared. My favorite was the carrot appetizer. It was more like dessert than appetizer but sooo tasty. The cake was super chocolatey, dense and smooth and the mousse layer was fluffy & creamy. Divine. Thank you, Anna & Santiago, for a special evening! We didn’t tell you, but it was our anniversary, and you made it an extra special experience!

We’re here to celebrate our anniversary and couldn’t be happier with the choice we made for our stay. The check in was a little rough as our room wasn’t ready, but Salvador and Claudio our guys in the outside bar made the wait seem minimal. They were very attentive, funny, and entertaining. The patio was pretty busy but they were on point hustling. Besides being busy, Salvador even offered to sing. Hahaha. The live music was awesome, Keni really did a number with all his jams. Great times!!! We will definitely be coming back, and we’ll bringing our friends and family.

We stayed for the Memorial weekend at the Mission Bay. It was a fun experience with friends and family. Two of the bartenders really stood out this weekend. Victor L. and Peter G. went above and beyond all weekend. It didn’t matter how busy they were, they always smiled and made sure all the guests were taken care of. Both Victor and Peter were extremely professional, kind, and phenomenal bartenders. 5 Star service!

My sister & I had a great time chatting while enjoying a delicious breakfast with nice music playing on background with a beautiful Mission Bay view and excellent service from Anna & Brandy our servers. It was my first time and I will definitely come back and become a regular 😊

Sami at the Covewood bar is a whole vibe. She is a sweetheart and serving up delicious drinks with the best attention. I always appreciate a bartender who remembers your drink and pays attention. She attended us during a busy conference and we were well taken care of. Excellent customer service and well balanced drinks.

My husband and I came here to celebrate his promotion. Our server, Chris M/Juan Lemus, made it extra special for us because of their impeccable customer service. They were so warm and welcoming! Chris, especially, is such a wonderful man. He checked in on us from time to time and even surprised us with a cake at the end of the night to celebrate my husband. Would recommend going to this restaurant. Look for Chris M! :) Great guy!

My husband and I chose Covewood to host an intimate Dinner Reception the evening of our wedding. The manager, V, was extremely accommodating and very attentive to all of our needs and requests leading up to our special day. Our server, Moses, and the rest of their staff made sure everything ran smoothly and with a smile on their faces. The food was incredible, everything came out great. We couldn’t be happier with our experience.

Had never been to mission bay resort- stopped by for a drink and a snack. Ate at Covewood and had a fabulous brunch board. It was well put together, large, and had a good selection. Great service from Luis and Milanko to top it off. Will be back! 😊

I had the best experience at Cove Wood Restaurant thanks to Sami and Roy !From the moment I walked in, Sami was so personable and welcoming—it really set the tone for my kid-free getaway. I started the evening with an espresso martini, and it was hands-down the best I’ve ever had. Sami’s warm personality and attention to detail made the night extra special. Highly recommend stopping by and asking for Sami if you want amazing drinks and great vibes!

Miguel A. & Jonathan A. provided us with exemplary service. They attentive & checked in on us frequently. They made sure that we were ok with the food brought out to us. Even thought it was closing time they made us feel comfortable & not rushed. It almost felt like we were with family. Definitely will go to Covewood again in hopes of running into them!

I stumbled upon this restaurant during my stay at the hotel and it’s beautiful! I posted up at the bar and Victor L. gave us an amazing experience at the bar. Have been meaning to do this for a while now… so here it goes. Had the opportunity to dine at Covewood early in March and to say the experience was amazing is an understatement. The staff was friendly, the food was amazing and the atmosphere was breathtaking. Jonathan and Moses made the experience exceptional. My friend and I let our server make some choices for us when it came to our meals and we were not disappointed! I live in San Diego and as a local I was so impressed. The manager on duty Barrett stopped by to make sure all was well and I could not stop gushing about everything. If you are a local or visiting, stop by and enjoy the wonderful food, service and views!

They ensured we had warm coffee, and refilled our drinks without us asking. It really made for a memorable experience. We had what is arguably the best restaurant meal we have ever had, and we eat out at higher end restaurants often. The meal was made even better because Anna and Juan L took such good care of us. We each ordered a specialty cocktail, the Covewood’s version of a wedge salad (fantastic) and seafood entrees. We ate this truly great meal while sitting outside looking over Mission Bay. We’ll be returning!!!

We looked forward to breakfast every morning because not only the food was delicious and timely but because of our server Roy!! He was friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. Knowing we came from Los Angeles, he was so kind and offered his condolences because of the fires. His outstanding service truly made our mornings special. Thank you, Roy!

We enjoyed the food so much. It was cooked perfectly every time. The potatoes were my favorite part. We ate twice during our stay and were happy we got to try different items. Our toddler ate everything too. They were kind courteous and attentive. Shout out to TONY! He was top tier during our stay. His longevity shows in his passion for hospitality. If anything, he’s a reason to come back!

I went to Covewood last night on a date and it fantastic! The food was amazing, the atmosphere was perfect, and my server, Stephan, and his assistant, Santiago, made it an amazing night. The manager, Barrett, also came around and chatted and altogether it was such an inviting and perfect atmosphere! Will be returning here soon!

This place is amazing! I have enjoyed every item I had on the menu and it was delicious! My waitress Anna and waiter Juan was very friendly and professional. They made the vibe at this restaurant very phenomenal. I will come back and refer as many friends and family to come. They deserve a raise!

Covewood had an exceptional menu and I especially liked the variety of options on their different menus throughout the day. Kay was one of the friendliest bartenders I can recall in my recent travels for work! She made a great martini and gave me awesome service. I’ll be recommending Mission Bay Resort and their restaurant, Covewood, to friends that are planning to visit San Diego in the future.

Austin and Chris were terrific bartenders at Covewood. They were friendly and engaging. Food was very good. My girlfriend and I shared a burger. Cooked as we ordered with hot fries. Amenities overall at the resort look good as well, and Covewood certainly kicked it off well.

Victor was awesome. Knowledgeable, attentive and just overall great at his job. Shrimp tacos were great! Wouldn’t mind having them again before I leave!

Great drinks and live music. Old Fashioned with Whistling Pig was delicious! Guacamole was fresh and tasty too! Claudio was a great server who was personable and responsive! The drinks from Salvador were fantastic! We stayed for three days and we were treated like family! Such a great place!

Our family enjoyed a delightful Christmas dinner at Covewood. The staff were happy to accommodate our substitutions to the special prix fixe Christmas menu. Each course was more delicious than the last. Service was attentive but not in any way rushed. Everyone who came to the table was professional and helpful but in particular our servers Jorge M. and Jonathan A. were terrific. We can’t wait to come back and enjoy a meal on the outdoor deck on a sunny day.

So special thanks to Nick & Roy who were an amazing tandem. I was headed back to my room however the fiancé and I wanted some snacks for our Netflix and chill night. Roy ordered some extra blankets to our room (the extra fuzzy ones) and Nick allowed us to go in the shop after it was closed to retrieve some popcorn. (Of course we paid for it) They went above and beyond just off of my question of where to get some snacks from without leaving the resort. Thanks Nick and Roy for your amazing hospitality

Was at the bar on several occasions. Sami was exceptionally attentive. She made the experience of drinks, and lunch/dinner with drinks a memorable experience. She is a great conversationalist, bartender, and food server. She goes the distance to make your food /drink experience the best it can be. The food was exceptional and the service from Sami was second to none!

What can I say about this place, the food was good but what stood out the most was the service. From the moment we were greeted and sat at our table the service was great. I recall our server name being Moses and he did not disappoint. He was professional, personalble, friendly and inviting. He even made suggestions on food choices. I would definitely return and ask for Moses to be our sever again. We need more people like him to seem to enjoy what they do.

Jaden was doing double duty as a waiter and bartender. No complaining, just a great attitude. Went back several times to enjoy his company.

We visited Covewood for both brunch and dinner during our stay, and Omar S. and Johnathan absolutely made our trip unforgettable. They brought such great energy and made us feel right at home from the moment we sat down. The bar drinks were amazing, the food was on point, and the service was top tier every time. They helped me bring my birthday in the right way and truly made our 3-day stay at the resort special. Because of them, we’re already wanting to come back!
