The service here was a real let down. Considering the high standards on service in the US, the staff were unfriendly and in a too much of a rush to get people in and out. This was a shame as the food was very good and the fish was very fresh.

Excellent service, delicious food and beautiful view. We had a very pleasant time. Fair food prices.

Great Sunday lunch. The Dungeness crab was fantastic! Chowder was delicious, garlic fries were great, and creamy cole slaw hit the spot! Beautiful view, sunny and bright atmosphere, and exceptional service. Highly recommend!

The restaurant was almost empty, there was plenty of staff standing around and yet, no one came to us for 10 minutes after we were sitted. The first server that came took our order for a starter and drinks and she mentioned that someone else will come later to serve us. Only my drink came with the starter. When we mentioned about the beer that my husband ordered, we expected that it will be quickly brought to us. Another 10 minutes later they brought us warm beer. When the server asked if we liked everything and we mentioned that he made an excuse that there is a problem with the house of the tap beer. When he was ordering his Stella, they did not even mention that it was going to be a tap beer. They didn't do anything to satisfy my husband's complaint. My wine was not chilled enough either. The calamari were good, my husband's fish and chips were very good, my crab roll was not anything special - I did not like the type of bread that they use and the sauce was cold. The table was not very clean. It has a nice view but the sun was burning our eyes, no one suggested that the blinds can be used. We saw another client pulling them down later. I would not go there again.

Cute place on pier 39 with great chowder crab and phenomenal crab. Shrimps and mussels nothing special. A bit expensive but average with San Francisco prices

Our first restaurant after arrival from Europa. Awsome dinner at Crab house ! We took whole crabs and garlic noodles ! WoW how delicious ! We highly recommand ! People are so kind !

Exceptionally fast and fresh! We stopped in with my family of 5. The service was exceptional and the food was wonderful!

We had a lovely lunch at the Crab House at Pier 39. My crab roll was so tasty and my husband really enjoyed the garlic noodles with shrimp which came with six very big prawns. Good portion sizes, just the right amount of food.

Excellent Mood. Great Service. Quality and taste of the dishes. Maria R attended us and provided suggestions and formidable attention. They make you feel at home.

We went to the restaurant without a reservation and were seated straight away with a beautiful view of the water and the Golden Gate Bridge in the background. The order was taken quickly and the drinks were brought in no time. The starter was then served immediately. The starter had just finished when the main course, a mixed seafood etagere, arrived at the table. This was just enough for two people, but there could have been more. In terms of taste, the dishes were more average, and certainly not a highlight. When we declined dessert, the bill was immediately placed on the table. I had the feeling that things had to happen very quickly to free up the table for more guests. They obviously did not want us to stay any longer. The price of food and drinks was too high for the quantity and quality. I would not go to this restaurant again. I would not recommend it.

4 of us had a good crab meal, enjoyed the views over the bay. Perhaps a little pricey but expected given the location. Will return.

Im from the eastcoast and wants to try the seafood from the pacific. Food is fine and delicious but nothing much of a difference to the east. But the service was terrific! Quick and efficient! The view as well is beautiful. Vibe and atmosphere of resto is appropriate to the location. Bathroom is clean and smells good. Accepts credit card. High chair available. See image for further information.

Found on cute and charming local trip, with beautiful views, friendly staff, I went to eat crab! all good but I hoped in the portions to have for the quantitative price of greater crab! High prices but fits with the place

Solo lunch. I tried the killer combo with 1/2 crab shrimp and mussels. Served with ceremony and pouring of white wine over the crackling dish at the table. The butter sauce and concentrated crab juice sauce are absolutely delicious. A treat that I highly recommend. Very well served. Seated at an elm table by the window even though I was alone.

We had a nice meal here. The crab soup, crab bruchetta and the whole crab tasted good. Staff are friendly and work hard.

This place is a must do for seafood in San Fransisco. The staff were friendly, the food delicious and the views of the bay amazing, It was also reasonably priced for such a wonderful experience. Family friendly too!

We ate well, I appreciated the Cioppino, my son half a crab, all very peppery. Whoever served us was very kind. These 2 courses, 2 beers and tip $120, not exactly cheap, but we are in San Francisco.

The food was real good! good location, nice and friendly staff. Good spot to have lunch or dinner with friends or family!

I recommend the crabs and shrimp deliciously. The ambiance is beautiful. The view is delightful. Its location is so central. One for seafood lovers

Food and service were great ! Had many recommendations but chose this place and was glad I did . Everything from apps to dessert was delicious !

Great seafood restaurant, top crab thing. The friendly waiters. Large range and at different prices.

In a very tourist area, this place does not escape its context. However, tastefully furnished and with professional and particularly courteous staff. The quality of the food is more than decent and the preparation is accurate and spectacular. The price is in line with expectations and therefore definitely not "Cheap" but not exaggerated either

Not only was he rude but the took a bribe to spike my drink. After confronting him, his attitude completely changed. Worse $50 ever spent

Came to this restaurant after surveying the others in close proximity as we had just left an excursion and didn’t want to travel too far to eat. We checked out Fog House menu and considered it but there was way too long of a wait. Walked towards Crabhouse which was already a restaurant on our list to check out. The menu stood out to us and a plus there was not wait. We were greeted and seated immediately already a plus so far. We scanned through the menu and saw many things that we liked and were already happy about the choice. We had the crab topped clam chowder and crab wontons to start. Both were amazing (disclaimer the sweet chili sauce for the wontons has a bit of a bite and more spice than sweet). Our entrees were the crab topped steak with came with a mix of roasted vegetables and potatoes. I had the Seafood Cioppino which was amazing and filled with a plethora of seafood. The drinks were amazing. Definitely will be going back on our next trip to San Francisco

We went to taste the famous crab soup. It is typical tourist place, all very expensive and the food was not very good

Very expensive but the crab was worth trying, the interior very noisy and overcrowded. Good service, the waiter recommended great dishes

We had a reservation on a Saturday night for 5:30, but we arrived early and were seated at 5:00. The server greeted us in a timely manner. We received our drinks a few minutes later. I had seen on-line the picture and feature of the "Killer Combo" I explained that to the server. After taking our order we were introduced to a new server (shift change). The food arrived very fast. What I received was not like the picture I saw on-line. I expected a whole crab, I received a half. I guess that was my fault. I did notice that the server that took over for us was explaining the difference to another table. The mussels were great and so to the crab. Very messy though.

We have a crush on the Crab House! Very good address despite its presence on Pier 39. Everything is perfect, the crab; the decor, the service, the garlic found almost everywhere. To advice !

Food, drinks and service all great! Atmosphere on the water awesome too! Would visit again. Everyone in our group had a wonderful time

I don’t hand out 5 stars easily but crab house earned it.The chowder was fantastic and the “killer crab” lived up to the hype. Great view and good service as well. Go early to avoid the crowd.

Breath-taking view ! Excellent quality Cesar salad and excellent fish soup! The only downside was too much of a bad fishy smell upon entering.

If you’re looking for an exceptional seafood experience, Crab House at Pier 39 is a must-visit! From the moment we arrived, the friendly and attentive staff made us feel welcome, and the views of the San Francisco Bay were simply stunning. The standout dish was, of course, their famous roasted Dungeness crab—perfectly cooked with a garlic butter sauce that was both rich and flavorful. The crab was fresh, tender, and so satisfying to crack open. We also tried the seafood pasta, which was loaded with shrimp, clams, and mussels in a delightful tomato-based sauce. The portion sizes were generous, and every dish was beautifully presented. Pairing our meal with a crisp glass of Sauvignon Blanc elevated the experience even further. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between casual and upscale, making it great for a date night, family dinner, or a special occasion. It’s worth every penny, and we’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend Crab House at Pier 39 for seafood lovers or anyone seeking a quintessential San Francisco dining experience.

The view is very good but the food is not perfect I requested a half crab from the menu but they only bring crab legs no body which is very tiring to eat

Tried the king crab for dinner one evening, a very touristy but characteristic place on Pier 39. A bit of waiting handled effectively with opentable. The crab is worth it and so is the caesar salad. Worth a try if in the area

I got a reservation through Google the night before and had no trouble getting seats. The restaurant was moderately noisy and busy but comfortable and had a view of the bay. The food was tasty especially the crab fried rice. My only complaint was it took a long time to get the water we asked for initially because it was so busy but everything else came pretty quickly.

Food was great, much better than we expected as this was in the heavily touristy area of pier 39. Busy restaurant with great flavours

Very nice restaurant on the harbour, the menu is not overcrowded, which you can taste in the quality of the products. For example, rarely have I eaten such good oysters

excellent seafood restaurant on the harbor in San Francisco, located right in the tourist area. very good and tasty food. excellent value for money and prompt service.

Great ambience with everyone eating fantastic looking food. Friendly staff and great crab washed down with wheat beer. Worth a visit although you may need to get in line as quite busy.

Cozy environment delicious crab and courteous staff. The restaurant professionally serves hungry customers. During my visit there were different types of clients and families.

Welcome back. The dishes are hearty and very good. Mixing trays of crabs and other seafood are recommended. Fast and friendly service.

Great place to eat we enjoyed it very much , thank you Well priced , clean , friendly staff nice food chive We will come again

If you go here and you are Italian I recommend you only get the crab. The pastas they offer are poorly blended, bland and spicy. But the evening view of the illuminated Golden Bridge is worth the price. In Italy it would have been an average restaurant.

What an amazing place to eat. We went here for my wife’s birthday and we’re not disappointed. We had the crab double combo and loved every bite. Excellent staff.

After watching a YouTube episode by Mark Wiens called "Garlic Noodles Dungeness Crab", my husband and I were determined to tryout "Crab House". All what the YouTuber said was true, the Killer Dungeness Crab, Garlic Noodles with Crab was FANTASTIC! Also we shared a Salad, Iron Skillet Combo, Hot buttered garlic bread, Margarita and a non-alcoholic Margarita. We can't say it enough; the Crab House is OFF THE CHAIN! Can't forget....Ms. Maria R. our server. She was more than professional. She was personable. Her spirit was so familiar and God-like. Just a beautiful person to have had served us. And the other employees who also served us including the cooks were wonderful. We tasted the love in our food. The greeter at the door was also a beautiful spirit. Thank you all again.

Great service. Great food. The sourdough in tomato sauce was fantastic. We thought reservations would have been needed on a Saturday night, but it was easy to get in at 5:30.

Yes it's touristy, surely there are better but really not disappointed with this dinner. Took the killer combo (mussels/shrimp/crab) and it was very, very good! The crab is incredible (although smaller than in the photos shown) I confirm!!

Had the best meal of my road trip in this restaurant. My partner loves sea food and had picked this place to eat from the day we booked our flights. So happy she did. The food is truly the best we had. The crab rice was another level good. There was only two of us and the rice is enough for four and we ate it all……It is a must.As I am not a great fam of shellfish a I had salmon and it was cook perfectly.Everyone needs to visit The Crab House

We ate here on 9/20/2023 and all I could think of is why did I find out about this place on the last day of the trip. Had I know earlier I would have eaten her ONLY. The food and the service was EXCELLENT. The rice is unparalled with those spices, the noodles was to die for, the burger with crab meat was out of this world. There were two patties but it was not heavy at all. EVERYTHING was presented and tastes GREAT! This place is it! GO IMMEDIATELY and you will not be disappointed!

Very good crab, definitely their specialty Avoid pasta dishes unfortunately drowned in cream that destroys all tastes of fish

Dinner with friends. Good food and friendly staff. Nice view overlooking the water with a few sea lions in sight. Decent value overall.

Great spot for lunch and for enjoying seafood! We had a nice table by the window and could see three sea lions lounging in the sun. We enjoyed a bottle of the house Chardonnay, together with a double order of crab, mussels and shrimp served with a delicious garlic butter sauce for dipping. Our server was very friendly and efficient.

Excellent place! Very nice crab soup, the best! And on price everything was very cheap compared to other places around. The waiter very helpful and all the food we ordered was delicious! I'll definitely be back!

We had a great lunch at Crab House! First and foremost, do not go there without getting the crab roll...best I've ever had, and I'm very picky with my crab and lobster rolls! Fried calamari was excellent, too, and it's not as easy to perfect as some people think. We visited here twelve years ago on our last trip to San Fran, and we were sure to come back. Can't wait for our next visit...it will be before 12 years. Service was amazing as well!!! Thank you!

We had the combo (following a waitress recommendation) and it was superb! We had a side salad which, slightly weirdly, came first but overall the whole thing was delicious! We had a window seat so watched the sunset.

I've been twice, interesting and simple cuisine and the crab, typical of San Francisco, is very good, like shrimp. I hate that you can't have simple bread. Very nice staff. Beautiful view of the sea

For Rustic and truly delicious seafood Thai is the place to be, the platter was simply delicious and hard to find better.

Hidden in the upper floor of Pier 39, a little gem to be considered. Crab chowder, simply awesome, as well as the crab rolls. I recommend pick the house Chardonnay for pairing…

Busy restaurant. Hosts kept us waiting without much explanation. Service friendly. Food nice but not very generous with crab. The noodles with crab barely had crab.

The food was amazing and the place is very clean. It is located in front of the harbour. All personnel were friendly

We have been coming to San Francisco to visit my son and Gino has waited on us each time. The crab feast is amazing and Gino brings it all together. I can’t say enough how awesome the food and service is everytime! Thank you Crab House and salute to you Gino for making each experience so enjoyable. See you next year! Wayne and Tawanna, New Jersey

Every time we come to San Francisco we visit pier 39 and the Crab House, great food and service. A little messy but we love it.

Okay, it‘s situated in the middle of the most touristic sites at SF but nevertheless - the food was delicious, staff very friendly & attentive and the location is decorated in a lovely contemporary maritime style. The sizzling hot plates to share were a hit.. and crabs are just a must. However we can also recommend a tasty flaky fish and chip and the chowder. And one more plus: we had a perfect table with a Golden Gate Bridge view… so hey: yes we are tourists and enjoyed the not so every day view!

Nice atmosphere, beautiful city view, great service and super tasty food for unhurried and relaxed mood.

It was a busy Saturday afternoon and crab was the goal. We had a gluten sensitive person with us so were glad to see variety on the menu. Despite the crowd we were well attended and food was perfect.

Very quaint and Cabin Restaurant at Pier 39 with beautiful views of the bay. The dishes are served quickly , rich portions and presented in a very original way. Crab is the protagonist here but you can also taste other fish and molluscs. Excellent fish soup and crab roll. High average prices (particularly for drinks). If you park at the Pier 39 public car park and censure here or in other restaurants in the area parking is free the first hour. Parking fee $10/h

Delicious food but a little pricey. We had a great time and this restaurant is located with a nice view and great shops around.

Nice view of the bay, very friendly staff, super fast Service. A little disappointment from the quality and quantity of food. We had a $100 combo with half a crab, shellfish and shrimp but there were only so many claws and little body and plus all cooked with an exaggerated amount of garlic. In my opinion it was not worth the expense and I am more than aware of being in a tourist place and not at my home! the food deserves 2 stars but speed in Service, location and staff deserved the third

We arrived at 20.30 and the recommended dishes were already finished. Crab enchiladas not easily swallowed. Price too high compared to the quality of the food served.

Amazing food, very friendly and professional staff! You can't miss it if you visit San Francisco! They have a great selection, but I would definitely recommend anything with the local crab.

Totally disappointed with the food. The server kinda forced us to take the combi crab, prawns and mussels platter and a fried rice. It was totally not worth taste and price wise.

Made a booking a couple of months in advance to be sure to get a table & asked for a window seat - on arrival we were shown to a table with hardly any view & seated near a very large rowdy group - I asked to be moved which the host wasn’t happy about but we were moved nearer to the bar - seated near a couple who hadn’t booked & had a fantastic view! We had a much better vista. Our initial upset was soon put to rest by the amazing food - best of our whole two week stay - I had the seared salmon & my partner had the crab - both really delicious. ** top tip ** visit the Tourist Information centre nearby who will give you a 15% discount voucher!

You get your money's worth here. Of course a little touristy but the food is tasty and the service friendly. In a beautiful location

The Crab House is in the middle of Pier 39, with a classy atmosphere. The cucumber basil martini and truffle fries were solid, where the crab mac n’ cheese was okay. We did get a coupon from eating at the Pier and parking in the lot connected via bridge to the pier!

Warning: the food quality, food flavor, and service has declined. Our table got the individual meals one at a time over 15 minutes.....AND I NEVER GOT MINE. The food flavor was very bad and garlic was overpowering on every dish.

Upscale restaurant for seafood lovers right on Pier 39. Good fast service, good selection of seafood dishes with emphasis on crabs. Tasty prepared. Prices relatively high - as everywhere at Pier 39 - but still fine. Restaurant stylishly decorated, good atmosphere.

Service and food were good. The crab roll was very good and the crab fried rice was plentiful but needed more crab. The view was nice.

food is good. waiters were busy. service is not so good. great view at the water front. price is reasonable

We ate in this restaurant overlooking the sea, very characteristic indeed. Good food. The crab really good

We tasted the clam and crab soups (I tasted the bread, excellent) and the crab rolls... all delicious... we woke up full and satisfied... prices a little higher than all the other meals but that's all written on the menu so we knew it...the place is very nice, on Pier 39 and I have to compliment our waiter Josè who was really super...kind and professional...highly recommended place

The server is very nice service, good food nice to place to eat I’m going back to eat again with our friend and family. Thanks guys I injoy.

Visit the crab house. You will not be disappointed. We enjoyed the crab roll so much and the skillet roasted sourdough. Unique way to serve it.

I came here first time in April 2024 and the crab noodles was so amazing. It was so delicious that the 2nd time I went back to San Francisco in August 2024, I had to visit this place again. The crab noodles and clam chowder were so amazing. Once you try the noodles, you will never be able to forget the taste

Take advantage of the layover time to visit the Crab House at Pier 39 in Fisherman’s Wharf, San Francisco, which specializes in all kinds of fresh Dungeness Crab. We use Dungeness Crab caught near the Pacific coast. Each large crab weighs more than two pounds!! All you can eat is delicious crab meat. I’ve never forgotten it since I ate here six years ago. I’ll visit again before the crab season is over!! It is recommended to book a table in advance, as it will take a long time to wait for a table on site

Lovely meal...food excellent. Crabcakes to start followed by cod and chips. Service great. Super atmosphere.

The Crab House exceeded all my expectations! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was inviting, and the staff was incredibly friendly and good behavior always ..

We had a wonderful time at Crab House Pier 39. The welcome was warm, the staff attentive, and the atmosphere perfect for an enjoyable dinner. The seafood was incredibly fresh, and the marinière oysters were simply exceptional. We highly recommend this restaurant to seafood lovers, and we will definitely be coming back!"

We went randomly to this restaurant and what a disappointment, admittedly received as in in a 4 star but the food served is ugly! fries that smell of foul fried and similar for fried shrimp, the oil smells bad. In short we left 3/4 of the meal ...

Super friendly chef and very tasty food! Following a recommendation, we had the crab mussel platter which was excellent.

It's an experience. The Crab House professional presentation was top-notch. Our Culinary Attendant, Gino was fantastic! His recommendations were perfection. The Salmon, Fish and Chips and Crab Roll were fantastic.

I would highly recommend this wonderful restaurant for the quality of food wonderful service and a fabulous ambiance. We had the 1 and half crab platter which is their signature dish, it was probably the best crab I have ever tasted

Tried it and found it VERY good! Both the food and the service -> first class. Prices accordingly. But it's worth it!

Really enjoyed my meal here. Such a fun place and delicious. Had crispy french fries tossed with fresh garlic, parmesan cheese and herbs, award winning clam chowder topped with crab meat, sizzling Iron Skillet of mussels in their secret garlic sauce, and crab fried rice with crab meat, egg, lemongrass, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, peanuts, oyster sauce, carrots, and green onions.

Excellent service and food. We tried the clam chowder & salad combo, and the crab & shrimp fettuccine…highly recommended…delicious!

Great spot lovely food the chowder in bread was fantastic calamari lovely and best if all great service. It was extremely busy the wait time was pretty good

This was our first time here and were very pleased. My husband and I had been cruising for our honeymoon and he desperately wanted some crab - but not on the ship. So we ventured off to pier 39 and were looking for the Crab House, we were so distracted by the sites we couldn’t find it at first. Then we realized, there was an upstairs and low and behold there it was “Crab House” the food was so good and Large portions. I had the shrimp fried rice and he had a Whole crab - he didn’t need any sides with it. The menu has many good items, we just couldn’t enjoy because we didn’t want to take any leftovers. We will definitely go back

We had no reservation and still got in fairly quickly. Views are great. Our first impression was servers were pleasant but not smiling. Boy was this reversed! Vanessa, our server was so nice and after initial encounter was smiling and so friendly. It's a busy place and she came by just enough times, as did the manager who checked on every single table. This was a 50th anniversary trip for us and Vanessa made sure to give us a fabulous dessert. I have nothing but good things to say, great experience.

The 3 of us all enjoyed our meals immensely and we were able to watch the sea lions while enjoyed the the fresh seafood! Great quality & great service!

I was looking forward to enjoying excellent seafood in San Francisco. However, my experience at this restaurant was very disappointing. While the service was excellent, the food was mediocre. I ordered the sizzling skillet with mussels, shrimp, and crab. The crab was bland and without real flavor, other than the overwhelming taste of the "secret garlic sauce," which was frankly awful. The shrimp and mussels were cooked well, but again, drowned in this unappetizing sauce. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Staff really friendly, attentive and nice. Delicious menu and panoramic views of the bay and the city of San Francisco

Got a nice place right away. Very accommodating , nice Service. We had Garmin noodles with prawns and crab chouder, the regional specialty. Both were extraordinarily delicious. The location is very quaint and definitely recommended.

I wouldn’t dine here again. Ordered half crab $30 plus, I would have expected more than just legs, beer was also flat. Walked in 10mins before kitchen closed, staff attentive but only for a possible tip. Was asked by serval times if food was good, particularly annoying. Not worth it. Tourist Trap.

For our second evening in San Francisco at Pier 39 we chose this restaurant due to the excellent reviews: excellent crab, really good; The fish pasta is also very tasty, perhaps a little too spicy for us Italians with a slightly more delicate palate. Medium-high bill but considering that we are on Pier 39 all in all acceptable. Polite staff, even if they are not very gentle, make the tourist feel like a number and not a guest.

Great location, ambience and service. Our waiter, Elmer, was responsive and personable. My martini (call vodka) cost $21 bucks. Not cheap, But everything else , food, drinks, etc, moderately priced. We’ll go back.

Had the fish and chips, fish was ok, chips were undercooked. Service was not bad, and prices were average for that area. Would probably choose another of the many options nearby.

The food was pretty good for how it was cooked. My wife ate the crab and she was in heaven! I ate the shrimp and the mussels. They were good but I like a less well done shrimp as they just keep cooking on the hot plate. Mussels good! The garlic bread with the chorizo dip was bomb!!! Apps and Beet salad also good.

I came here with my family, wife and daughter. Just coming in I requested several times to change tables, as they had many in the other room available, and there was no way. They sat us right in front of a white wall, HORRIBLE! We ate the Crab Combo 🦀... quite a disappointment and that I came with all the enthusiasm in the world. Garlic and cheese bread had so much garlic that it could not be eaten, like rice, which also chopped. For me, who came with all the illusion of eating crab, it was a total bad experience. I hope I can find better care in the future at a table overlooking the had enjoyed the meal.

08/10/24. Food was mediocre. They canceled my reservation for being 3 min late so keep that in mind. Why make a reservation? Skip the stake if you’re thinking about that. Wife did shrimp and crab. Said it was ok.

I asked some bathroom attendants what their favorite restaurant at the pier was, and they all said this one. Were told we had a 20-30 minute wait so we started towards Fisherman's Wharf and barely made it down the stairs when we got the text for our table. The place is busy, lots of staff and our waitress was great. We ordered and the food was out almost immediately…..the shrimp and mussels were so great but the crab was overcooked. It was sinewy and stuck to the shell. Was disappointed in that.

The Crab House at Pier 39 is an absolute must for seafood lovers! We had an incredible dinner with snow crab, fried rice, lobster mac & cheese, and their spectacular crab roll—everything was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The seafood was fresh and tender, and the portions were generous. The crab roll, in particular, was unforgettable! On top of the amazing food, the service was friendly and efficient, and the view of the bay made the experience even better. If you’re visiting Pier 39, don’t miss this spot for a memorable seafood feast!

Crab Chiwder was sensational and I have recommended to friends when visiting the States The service was great and the food and wine was first class

Seafood was amazing we had a prawn pasta, seafood pasta and the prawns, crab and mussels it was devine. Sauces complimented so well and was very tasty. The views was to die for on a sunny day perfect location 😍☀️☀️

We ordered a combo plate that had crab, mussels and shrimp. We also had an hors d’oeuvres. This is the first time in all my years of dining out that there was anything that was worth eating. The food was not inexpensive, and we left most of it sitting on the table.

We were at Pier 39 for the afternoon and decided early on to have Dinner at the Crab House. We arrived at about 5:00 and were seated immediately, by 5:30 most of the seating was full, so would suggest arriving before 5:30, especially on Friday's. They don't have a "huge" menu, but they do have a nice selection of items to choose from, we had the Clam Chowder Bread Bowl, Sizzling Shrimp for one, and the Crab Sandwich, overall they were all pretty good, but a bit pricey however this was a tourist spot so would be expected. The service was extremely fast, the Bread Bowl and Crab Sandwich was brought to the table within 4-5 mins of ordering, the sizzling shrimp about 10 mins later the staff was friendly, however you did seem a bit rushed as if they want to turn the tables quickly, overall was a nice experience and glad that we tried this location, with as many choices as there are around there, we will probably go to another restaurant the next time we are there to try what they have.

We had dinner there as the fish selection was excellent. I had whole dungeness crab which was delicious accompanied by a splendid Californian chardonnay. Gino, the waiter was attentive and helpful. The restaurant was tastefully decorated with seafood artefacts and soft lighting. I'd love to go again.

It seemed like the typical tourist spot on the Pier. Average service and mediocre food. Nothing remarkable. Good oysters, burnt mussels, small and expensive crab, …

Many offer the King Crab in SF, but this restaurant is the best solution for a European (and Italian) consumer. It's quaint, the service is decent, the quality of the food is excellent. Other places I tried were too cheap for my taste If you want to try the crab, take it directly, which is brought split in half, but you can order as much as you want. In my opinion, one per person is an excellent portion to eat discreetly. The crab is boiled with a typical sauce added at the end of cooking. Tip: the restaurant uses a garlic sauce (not too heavy...), so mark it before being served if you don't want it.... In addition to the crab, I suggest another typical thing: the chowder which is a loaf filled with a fish soup of crab and other shelled crustaceans with cream... it doesn't drive me crazy, technically speaking, but it's still a pleasant and nice thing, perhaps to share with the other diners. To finish the scampi (or prawns if you want...) in the pan: delicious but full of garlic. Therefore, let us know in advance if you want them without anything.... Very fast service!! In 10 minutes the first crab arrives!! Prices high, but correct compared to what you see around San Francisco.... Booking via internet on the site is very convenient. Before having dinner, I suggest arriving an hour early for a stroll through the (very touristy...) shops of Pier 39 and seeing the famous Sea Lions enjoying the sun in summer. Finally, ask for a seat near the windows and you will enjoy a super sunset complete with the Golden Gate!!!

Absolutely delicious food and atmosphere with beautiful views over the pier and water. Highly recommend if you are in this area and looking for a nice meal. The portions are huge!!

dinner at sunset on pier 39, restaurant to try for the quality of the crab 🦀 and other fish products. Great Napa Valley wines. The only drawback the organization a bit 'chaotic, better give the name to be called because they do not accept reservations. You eat too fast because there are so many people in line but it is still worth trying. Prices a bit high

We had a wonderful lunch experience here! The service was excellent, friendly, and very attentive. The Super Combo dish was delicious and exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting this restaurant!

We had great food here and a great view - simply forgot where we were eating at. It could have been anywhere on the pier. Mediocrity is not great and these guys should be shouting out to the rooftops instead of servers coming into shift asking if it's been this quiet all day. I can't share the videos as trip advisor won't let me but it was empty. Shout out about what you do and market your brand. Glad we ate here but management need to get real about marketing as opposed to reliance on location! The one saving grace was that the food was ok and the service was superb. Thats all You can find better places

Great Food, Awesome service, no long wait time for food from time of order, cleanest restrooms on the Pier, good whiskey and child appropriate. Overall a very welcoming and delicious experience served by beautiful people with great attitudes!!

Ordered the seafood pasta and garlic noodles. Overloaded with pasta with small serving of seafood throughout the dish. was average. Pricey but that's expected for where restaurant located and cost of living.

What a wonderful dinner and experience! Our waiter Gino went above and beyond for us. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Come in family, The seafood (shrimp and killer crabs) are really excellent. Perfect place with a direct view on the golden gate.

This was a wonderful experience. The view alone over looking the harbor is great. Below were the famous sea lions even though they aren't supposed to be in that section of the marina and were shooed away later by a worker but were still part of the overall experience, The food was excellent. My husband and I each started with clam chowder then I had the cod and my husband had fish and chips. Our waiter was attentive and we very much enjoyed the restaurant.

I had been there many years ago, and I returned to one of the best places to eat clam chowder in SF. It didn't disappoint me, in fact it's even better than I remembered. Absolutely a must when in SF for me.

We arrived in San Francisco after 10 days of traveling, eating poorly and expensively. We wanted to eat delicious, healthy food and at Crab House we had a wonderful meal. Compared to the rest of the places we had eaten, it was not expensive at all. We loved the clam chowder and the crab.

Visited at the recommendation of the hotel and was not disappointed, had the crab, shrimp and mussel platter for 2 with garlic fries, I can say I definitely wasn't disappointed, it was delicious. I would recommend it to any seafood lover.

Eating crab at Fisherman's Wharf is a must if you are in San Francisco. We had a seafood combo with their famous crab, clams and shrimp. To that, a bottle of dry white wine. An incredible experience for all the senses.

So I came back after almost 10 years and I have to say that it's one of the reasons why I love coming back to San Francisco!!! It's definitely not cheap, it's definitely very touristy, it definitely doesn't have placemats on the table, it's definitely noisy. But honestly the ONLY reason why I come there is the CRABFEAST ($170) which in quantity for 3/4 people (only two of us). They are crab claws served on a hot plate that keeps them warm, seasoned with a garlic sauce (if you don't like garlic, avoid the local cuisine). As well as the garlic chips (which I've found to have gotten worse over time). The dish is really worth it, of course the tourist component is always present (we are always at Pier39) and we are in the USA. The wines are quite affordable (certainly don't expect excellent quality) but by choosing a decent Californian one you can drink at a reasonable (always American) price. Other dishes in my opinion worth trying in other restaurants. I would go back time and time again, I repeat, just for the CRABFEAST! A real crab feast!!!

got nice table without reservation and nice hospitality. Crabs, shrimps and oysters were fresh and delicious. portions are nice sized. will come again

The crab cakes were great but the seafood fettuccine was absolutely flavorless. We tried to send it back but the waiter was really absent

WOW! What a spot. I stopped here for dinner to see the sunset after a busy day in SF. Ended up sat at the bar which for a solo traveller was perfect, from the window you have a reasonably good view of GG bridge. Had half a crab, glass of wine, fries and a cucumber vodka martini which were all great!!! Obviously you pay a little more due to the location but was genuinely the best possible way to end the day in a great restaurant!

As good as crab could be. Tried the killer crab roasted in garlic. Cooked perfectly seasoned well Fresh as can be. Service was nice and the view was as well

First night in San Francisco, the crab was amazing. The location is beautiful, good price and quantity, good food

Very touristy. Built for large groups of people. Food was okay. I’m not sure of price since employer paid. Likely expensive as is Al of SF.

Staff helpful and fast. Very simple online booking system. Good combo dish (1 + 1/2 crab + mussels + shrimp), although for the crab there were only claws. Frankly I expected something more and to be able to eat more crab, even in light of the price paid of $105 for the aforementioned dish. In order to give a better evaluation I should come back and check

Grrat spot on pier 39. We enjoyed salad and soup. Soup was excellent and served in a bread bowl. Bread was excellent as well. Salad had some wilted pieces. Crab was done perfectly. Crab House well deseeves its name. Pasta was done perfectly as well. Crab Hoise offers great tastibg food and great variety by doing what they are good at very well. Pricing is fair as well. We felt we received great value given the views and ambiance. Just wish the salad maker had jist rejected the bad lettuce.

myself and my husband booked dinner here after deciding we wanted to enjoy a seafood restaurant while in San Francisco. it was also only a 10 min walk from our hotel. we were given a lovely window seat so we could enjoy the view while having dinner we both ordered the clam chowder to start and it was lovely! we then ordered one of their large sizzling plates with crab, mussels and prawns. also had some fries. it looked and smelt good! however, sadly we didn't enjoy it that much as the seafood was so overwhelmed with garlic and herbs. it totally took away from the natural taste of the crab, mussels and prawns we appreciate using garlic and herbs, a great combination! but we think they overdid it to the point we had to stop eating as all we could taste was garlic and herbs. Shame as we had such high hopes for our meal. the service was good. no issue there but their love of seasoning we felt let it down you want the seasoning to compliment the food not drown it out. would we go there again? maybe. but we'd ask them to go easy on the garlic and herbs if we had a large skillet again

The service at this restaurant was terrible. The atmosphere was not great. I won't go back there. The servant was poorly educated. Also, the toilets were not very clean at all.

The location is fantistic on Pier 39. They welcomed us (wait time was very short) and led us to our table. The service was very good. The food was exellent. The atmosphere was very cosy. The price was correct for the food we ordered. The crab is a must have

We travel a lot from the UK and this is our number one place to go for fish and seafood, especially the combo skillet!

Our waitress (Juli) was amazing and the service was great! The food was out very quickly which was great and so were the drinks Food was delicious lots of seafood options not just crab. The restaurant has nice decorations and good window views straight onto the piers

Crab House at Pier 39 in San Francisco offers fresh, delicious seafood with stunning waterfront views. Their famous roasted crab, attentive service, and vibrant atmosphere make it a must-visit for seafood lovers.

We arrived in San Francisco and were hoping for some fresh seafood. Crab House had great reviews, so we chose to go there. We were recommended their signature dish. Sizzling crab in a secret butter sauce. It did not disappointment. Nor did the crab & prawn fettuccine, fried calamari or crab cakes. Service by Gino was excellent. Restaurant had a great vibe and view.

Quick welcome Full menu Dishes with great taste A beautiful view of the port Value for money normal Quick service

The food - crab dishes - were tasty service warm, quick and friendly. The place was full but we were given a place from bar counter - which was great to see barterder in his work.

Really good food. Nice ambience. We had the simple combo for two and it was ok. Beverages are expensive. Really nice service

The combo consisting of 1/2 crab, mussels and shrimp was very good and matched the Aperol Spritz. The price was already quite salted, so you just pay for the location!!

Absolutely amazing! We made reservations which I do recommend. It is located on the second floor of the pier. It has great views. The service is amazing! Food came out very quickly. We ordered the iron skillet and shared it. It’s was delicious. Can’t wait to go back!

Crab House is a place famous for crab, we tried it in the grilled version and it was delicious. We also shared a portion of fried calamari, which was average. Two glasses of wine and a bottle of water, $120.

The ambience of the restaurant by the sea is picturesque. Unfortunately, the interior of the restaurant cannot keep up. It has a canteen feel. The service is friendly, but also long-winded and tough due to the large number of visitors. The crab fried rice and the crab cakes were quite sparse in portion terms and hardly seasoned. You had to search for the garlic noodles with shrimps on the plate. These dishes also lacked flavor intensity. Only the Caesar salad was fresh and good. Conclusion: It was not good, but not bad either. But it was a mass operation.

Reservation almost mandatory for an occasion. Sunset on the pier. Almost exclusively tourist place (but we are on Pier 39..) and crowded. Spectacular dishes, good, I would say a little expensive.

Restaurant overlooking the sea and very comfortable, one floor above the main street of Pier 39. There is a wide variety of dishes with crab and seafood, and we opted for grilled meats and pasta with shrimp and crab. Both very good. Fast and friendly service.

The Crape House at Pier 39 offers a cozy atmosphere and a fantastic view of the harbor. Here is our experience in bullet form: **Pleasant Surroundings** The restaurant has really cozy surroundings that make the meal pleasant. **View** There is a wonderful view out to the harbor where you can watch the incredible sea lions put on a show while you eat. **Service** The staff provided good service and were very welcoming. **The food** Unfortunately, the food disappointed us greatly. We tried their craproll and crab-garlic rice dish, but both dishes tasted almost nothing and lacked soul, salt and love. Although the surroundings and service are good, unfortunately the food could not live up to expectations.

Excellent taste, very kind and professional! Very nice place with amazing view, tasty plates and kind welcome, definitely a place to recommend and to re-join for dinner. Also recommended to try crab-based plates ;)

A lovely way to spend quality time with the family. If you want a beautiful view of the bay with an upscale feel, this is your place. The best part was the tasty food and cocktails. We had the 2 full Crabs, Crab Fried Rice, Fried Calamari, Kids Garlic Butter Noodles, Creme Brûlée Cheese Cake, Tiramisu and for drinks Cosmopolitan’s and Pomegranate non- alcoholic drink. One of the best meals we had ever had. The whole family was happy! Money well spent for a quality meal. Not to mention the great waitstaff. Elmer our waiter was excellent! Attentive and gave great suggestions. Enjoy!

A very characteristic place where diners mostly prefer the internal crab served on a hot plate. We tried the double cheeseburger with crab and the fabulous crab roll (highly recommended)

Very busy, good food, overpriced, barman added without asking extra tequila shots in the margarita to increase price and tip. Very good fried calamari and clamchowder.

Saw this on a food blog long before out trip to Sam francisco, and put it on the list. Was not disappointed, excellent food, great location. Great view and excellent service. Had the killer combo. Superb. Planned to go again on last day but change to flights meant it wasn't possible, otherwise would have gone back and had the same again.

I was there tonight for dinner with my wife. Nice little restaurant inside Pier 39 overlooking the bay. Fish menu (crab in particular), good food (not great), fast service and fairly human prices.

A good option for seafood with fresh food and a pleasant atmosphere. Pay attention to the kitchen closing time, which in winter is 9pm, and after this time they don't answer and start cleaning everything around, with the noise of dishes being put away disturbing the experience.

My sister, brother-in-law and I had a sumptuous lunch. We ordered clam chowder, cioppino, calamari and their garlic noodle. We all enjoyed our meal. The best part was the view. Service is good.
Basic
Being a seafood lover I had high hopes for the quality of the seafood however personally I believe the cooking process let them down. The crab was bland with no flavour as if it has been cleaned in fresh water. So overall it was a bit let down for both my husband and I. The service was great it was a shame about the food.
