Good service. Amazing monkey bread. I recommend using the no wait app. We would go back. Oh and the bloody Marys are very good!

Visited again on May 11 and had a less than stellar experience. We were greeted by a very rude hostess and the experience never improved. I truly love the food here and it was probably an off day, but no excuse for rudeness and poor food quality~will give them one more chance because I think the menu is very creative and the food normally is on target.

We're from the 'burbs and do not frequent this part of town regularly. My husband spotted Crosby's as we were shopping on a Friday around lunch time. While I shopped, he read the reviews and was therefore ready to order the cornbread as soon as we were seated! We were both in the mood for small plates, so with the cornbread we had a shrimp and corn chowder, tuna poke, and the lobster deviled eggs. The chowder and tuna (and cornbread) made our mouths - and stomachs - happy -- singing and dancing happy :) The lobster deviled eggs, while good, I'd probably not repeat. The restaurant was packed with some business diners, but many moms with their kids, and moms without their kids. Seems that locals are very aware of Crosby's, and we noticed a real variety of food at each table -- which tells me we'll be back, adding some different items to our cornbread.

The Iron Skillet Blueberry Cornbread is decadent - SO delicious!! And every omelette amazing. And lunches are also amazing. It gets loud inside - so be sure to sit outside if you want a quieter conversation. Highly recommend!

Our son took us there and when we walked in thought well this is just another family style restaurant but what a surprise with the menu and atmosphere. Their speciality is rotisserie, some days chicken some days prime rib and the day we went it was beef tenderloin. Omg was the best meat I ever have had, wife had the chicken and she was also impressed. Had grilled artichoke for appetizer wow fun was to start our meal and finished off with the skillet cookie. Wait staff was excellent as were the drinks

This restaurant was everything! We went after church and got there around 2 o’clock in the afternoon. We did not know that there was a different menu for dinner, then lunch and brunch, and we had gone there with intention of ordering some foods off of the dinner menu, which were not available. But it’s OK, it’s a good excuse to go back again, and no doubt that we will do that. Everything we ate from salads to fish to beef dishes, to the Keylime pie and the carrot cake. Everything was delicious. We didn’t realize that there was gonna be a Cubs game going on that day and so Parking for a couple of us was a little difficult. But ultimately, we all found some.If Uber is an option, that may be easier.

My wife and I ate there this evening. I had a half rack of ribs and the were very good. The 2 BBQ sauces were excellent and I couldn't decide which one i preferred. My Brussel sprouts were delicious. My wife had excellent Mahi Mahi

Dinned for a second time here and had another great experience. We were a group of 12 at lunch and service couldn't have been better. The cornbread is a must and the deviled eggs are decadent. Lots for craft beers to choose from.

This was my first time here. I arrived with my family of five including one young child for dinner. We opted to be seated outside on the sidewalk due to the nice weather. As you can see from my pics I started with and enjoyed their Blackberry margarita with tequila, Cointreux, lime, blackberry syrup, rimmed with black salt for $12. All of the five house special cocktails are $12. We enjoyed our share of the Crab toast with jumbo lump crab, avocado puree and pickled chilis for $13. I also enjoyed my full rack of BBQ’d babyback ribs with their Smoke Daddy BBQ sauce rated one of the best in Chicago and choice of any side for $24. I opted for their side of mashed potatoes. You can also purchase separately their Smoke Daddy BBQ sauce. See my pics. We all enjoyed our dinners and service here, therefore, we will return here.

Dinner menu isn't the greatest, can't go wrong with the Paulina Sausages locally sourced from Paulina Meat Market. The housemade bread and butter pickles are fantastic.

Sat at bar, service was quick and personable, however the food can be hit or miss. After several meals here I've noticed quite a bit of the meals are prepared ahead of time and usually not very hot. Crab cakes are not very good, not very flavorful. I usually order a steak which is generally prepared spot on. Pass on the prime rib and order a steak.

Very good food and service. Unfortunately, they no longer serve the guacamole dip- which we were looking forward to. Indoor and outdoor seating available.

Establishment opened in early summer 2024 - and is excellent! There is a lot of indoor seating; 4 separate areas to dine; one with a bar - as well as a good-sizes outside patio with both tables and a bar. Quite a few choices ranging from basic sandwiches to a $50+ filet mignon with everything in-between. We went on a Friday and got in and out - with fast service and an attentive waitress named Kileen (not confident on the spelling). Desserts are huge! I wish we'd split one. Good mix of appetizers and dinner choices. Highly recommend. Casual with upscale options.

Even when super busy, food is hot and shows up amazingly fast. Our breakfast was fabulous and now they have lemonades outside in a little stand area. Delicious!

This is a great place to bring your kids. Kids meals are free every day between 4-6 PM. The restaurant is usually filled with families and very loud, so it's nearly impossible for your kids to embarass you! You can sit back and relax.

I went here on New Year's Eve for dinner and had a fantastic time! Went with my partner and 3 other friends and we all enjoyed it. I had the rotisserie chicken salad and it was quite yummy. My drink was expertly prepared as well. My partner had the carrot cake for dessert and it was awesome! I find some restaurant carrot cakes to be lacking in flavor, but this piece was very tasty. The waiter joked about the presentation and my fellow patrons agreed that it looked a bit "messy", but I did not have a problem with this. We all (including the waiter) agreed, however, on the fact that it was great tasting. Our waiter could not have been any nicer or more efficient. The place was LOADED with small children. Didn't bother me, but if you're looking for an intimate, romantic setting, this might not be the place for you. To sum it up...I can't wait for my return visit to try something else.

Great menu! Excellent soup. Very friendly staff. The food was terrific. Everyone had a good meal. They were very family orientated. Will definitely go again!

Crosby's is nice for any occasion...date, friends, family. I have never been disappointed by the food, drinks, or service!

We stumbled into Crosby's after a great show at the Mercury Theater since the restaurant was open late. Great ambiance, good food, friendly staff. Ended a wonderful evening. This is a perfect neighborhood restaurant. I wish I could have taken it home with me.

Sitting in the vibrant 'Southport Corridor' (where Amazon put it's cool retail bookstore), this restaurant is highly popular. It's not much to look at inside. But ample portions, delicious food, reasonable prices, and efficient courteous service - these are the attractions. And it appeals to a wide variety of customers judging by the locals, families and different ages we saw.If you are planning a weekend trip, make a reservation. There were 4 of us, and we were promptly seated in a booth by the fireplace. (The restaurant did text us to confirm we were on time.) The restaurant is located just a few blocks north of the EL brown line Southport station, so it's easy to reach by public transportation.

The atmosphere is decent, the service is OK, the food is hot garbage. I ordered the chicken dip (basically a chicken sandwich) that was mostly bone and beak. My date's steak was average...like Sizzler average...not worth $34 bucks.

Lots of families here and a very lively place. Good variety of food, full bar and beer on tap. Very nice crab cakes, good salads. Sandwiches, entree’s, salads, ribs, appetizers, dessert. breakfast only on weekends.

We were shopping and doing errands in an unfamiliar neighborhood and stopped in Crosby's for lunch. It was just right: busy with happy people enjoying themselves --- but we got a nice booth by a window. Good menu with very appealing salads, soups, entrees, etc. A very communicative and happy waiter who made suggestions and took good care of us. And the food was very good. We both had the Wrightwood salad with a few variations. Turns out it is apart of a group of restaurants and I am sure they are all well run. We will be back.

Visited Crosbys on a winter Thursday afternoon. Nothing else on this part of Southport was open. Menu looked good, chicken dip caught my eye. Not as awesome as a French dip but pretty good. Beer selection was decent. Price was appropriate.

My nephew, who lives in the neighborhood, took us to Crosby's Kitchen for brunch today. OMG! Try the lobster deviled eggs. Perfect accompanying the bloody Marys (with bacon). The eggs Benedict were served atop a pile of shaved prime rib. Love this place.

Crosby's Kitchen back in the 1950s was Frank Linden's Drug Store. I was a soda jerk there. I came back to the space with a friend after a Cub's game. It was more spacious and comfortable than I remembered. I could not believe what a charming restaurant they made out of it. The food is simple and delicious. Our waiter was great. The ambience is "neighborhood knockout." I'll be back!

We planned on visiting the brewpub across the street, and did not want to wait for 35 minutes for a table, so we went over to look at the menu at Crosby's and were seated before we had a chance. I had a cheeseburger and it was fairly simple as far as cheeseburgers go. But, the bun was incredible, the patty was thick, flavorful, and was cooked perfectly. Without bacon, guac, blue cheese, or being blackened, it was a very nice burger. The bread on the chicken dip looked like a slice from a french bread loaf, and my wife enjoyed her steak salad. They have a full bar with cocktails, wine, and basic craft selections from the Midwest. We were seated promptly and our server did a great job providing us with a great experience. The have a rotisserie selection and I eyed the lobster deviled eggs, but next time perhaps.

Fred Flintstone size pork chop that is herb crusted and perfectly cooked. It's definitely something you could share. Remember that it is "kids eat free" on Sunday from 4-6pm so make your reservation around that, if possible. Very friendly staff person named Sara Jane made our experience all the better!

This is a friendly, cheery place that is great for families. Great staff, wonderful food, and affordable. The lobster deviled eggs are to die for (make sure to take your statins!), and the jalapeño corn bread, while more modest, kisses the taste buds. Huge pork chops, yummy chicken, walleyed pike, and excellent desserts make this a comfort food station with a little more flair. Parking on the street is not a huge problem, but if living in Chicago, cabbing it is best.

This was my first visit to Crosby's. We were going to the theatre about 4 blocks away, and it worked out perfectly. Excellent service, very good food and great drink menu,

Cozy outdoor seating that with little traffic noise. Delicious bloody mary that comes with bacon and a sidecar beer. Monkey bread is an amazing starter that can be shared with the table. All four of us had something different and we all raved at our meals. I will definitely drive in from the suburbs just to have breakfast here again.

A group of 5 of us, including my daughter, husband and in-laws, arrived at 7pm on Saturday nite for dinner. We did not have a reservation and we understand this is a peak time. We were told an hour wait and we agreed. We had checked the website and did not think that Crosbys accepted reservations. We now know that you can make reservations thru OpenTable. The hostesses never once smiled at us or said thank you for your patience or any update on being seated. When no one else was waiting we politely asked for an update. The hostess stated that we'd been told an hour and we'd only waited 37 minutes. Evidently, our table was not a priority. We conferred with our group and decided to go elsewhere and we will not return. The hostesses were too busy with their tablets to provide any customer service.

All of our meals were top notch in taste and quality. The service was good and it was easy to see why it was busy. Highly recommend you stop if in the area - not too far from Wrigley Field near the Brown Line.

I've been here twice in the last year or so and both visits have been enjoyable. My first visit I had the pork chop and it was delicious. Large cut of meat and cooked perfectly. My girlfriend had the chicken and biscuits and had a hair in her food. Was there for brunch last week and again had good service. The biscuits and peach preserves were a good start. The chicken hash was good, reminded me of a chicken pot pie. I'd return here for a moderately priced, "home cooked" meal.

Seated fast despite being a party of seven with no reservations and they were pretty busy. Easy to order gluten free. Easy to find something healthy. Excellent service. Kids eat free sealed the deal. Will definitely return.

Flexible service let us get onto the waitlist, but not have to stand around. Very friendly. Delicious salad and nice local Southport atmosphere. An enjoyable dinner.

We ate there early in the evening and had no wait at all. Service was excellent and we had a very short wait for the food. Members of our group had the sausages, wrightwood salad, and the half chicken. All were good and in sufficient quantity. I did think that the serving size of the craft beer could have been larger for the price.

Such a relief to find a place that is cozy, friendly and REALLY good. Had reservations for a Friday evening -- arrived an hour early so sat at the bar for some guacamole/chips and a good glass of pinot. Table was ready at our reserved time -- super friendly and accommodating wait staff. We had the spit-fire roasted chicken AND spit-fire roasted prime rib with mashed potatoes -- both were DEEElicious. Will definitely eat here again. Love places where the food is down-to-earth good, recognizable and plentiful. Nice job!

First time here. My husband had the salmon which is said was really good. My daughter, the ribs, and she was pleased with them too. I had the chicken pot pie and was not impressed - it has too much thyme and actually gave me an upset stomach, which is very unusual for me. All three of us thought the food was a little too salty. A lot of families with small children - so if you are looking for a quite and relaxed atmosphere might want to go somewhere else. The prizes are ok, the portions I thing are on the smaller size. Probably not the first place I would revisit.

We came here during the Cubs World Series Sunday home game. We sat at the bar, ordered food and drinks. The two bartenders were very rude to our party, I have never been to an establishment where the bartenders who are in the service industry, treated paying customers so rudely. They got our tab wrong by charging 3 of my drinks instead of 1 and when we asked to split tab and correct it, she gave such attitude. They totally ruined the energy after the Cubs won that game 5! Wow We asked for the manager but he was not around that night. I will never go back and would not recommend this place to any of my friends.

Crosby's Kitchen was such a nice experience. The location is perfect in the hip Southport Corridor of Lakeview. Food and service were good. Loved the turkey burger. This place is great for friends, singles, or families.

The waiter was very knowledgeable, pointing out that the fryer was shared. I was offered several gluten-free options including delicious lobster deviled eggs, fresh fish, roasted chicken and ribs. Everything was made from scratch, cooked right, and seasoned well. Note that families with young kids line up around 6PM, creating a wait for up to 1 hour. The line clears by 7PM, then the wait increases again by 7:30PM with adults. I highly recommend this restaurant to other Celiacs.

Almost a year after my first review, we still keep coming back to Crosby's as regulars (at least twice a week). Brunch offers tasty monkey bread, lobster deviled eggs, and omelettes. Sad that the unique and tasty oatmeal pancakes were replaced with traditional buttermilk pancakes. And don't expect any fancy coffee drinks here either. Starbucks is down the street. Their rotisserie chicken is delicious for dinner as well as the brussel sprout salad. The double-wide strollers and the children they belong to continue to annoy both patrons and staff alike. We doubt that situation is going to change anytime soon. Solution: dine next door at their new restaurant, Ella Ellie! Great ambiance, sophisticated plates, delicious drinks, and no screaming children. Try the pink squirrel for dessert!

We were on the prowl for Monday afternoon lunch - who knew how difficult it would prove on a street packed with options. Many of the restaurants we checked out were either pricey for the offerings or surprisingly not open for lunch. Just as we were going to give up and leave for another area, I spied the Crosby's Kitchen name on their front door. No other signage that I saw, just a clean black awning over a simple storefront. The interior was similarly clean and spartan, perhaps it would be more lively at a busier time. The menu more than made up for any uncertainty we had upon entering. My companion (a picky eater) enjoyed a French dip that not only saw him finish the whole thing, but give uncharacteristic raves after. We both enjoyed the potato cakes - pillowy bites of potato cheese and bacon that were more decadent than I can do justice to here. The highlight of the meal was a brussel sprout salad that will go down as the best I've ever enjoyed. Broken down brussels with arugula, bacon, dried blueberries, lemon zest, blue cheese and a citrus vinaigrette. Heaven on a plate in my humble opinion. We're both so happy to have stumbled on Crosby's Kitchen. The food was a surprisingly bright find among mostly dull options on Southport. We'll definitely be back and hope if nothing else to grab a spot at the small bar in the back and drink some of the excellent selections on tap.

This past weekend had brunch 3 adults and 4 children. They were very accommodating and kid friendly. The food is what you'd expect from a neighbor restaurant. Good, and consistently at the same level. I have eaten here on several trips visiting family over the years. And have never had a bad meal. Don't forget the monkey bread.

I dined here after a 5K and was starving! Despite being busy, we were seated very quickly. I got a cheese burger which was DELICIOUS. The fries were also crispy and good.

I had their "famous chicken dip" . It was nothing more than plain. No flavor. Even dipped in the broth, it was like dipping it in to water. It was just bland fresh food. At least it was fresh. Great atmosphere. Good beer selection, cocktails average priced. Food was priced moderately. Meh.

I was shocked we could be seated. It was during Stanley Cup playoffs. We opted for a seat at the bar before the game started. Attentive service. Great salmon and vegetables. Never disappointed. Nice walk for us. Brown line at southport station.

We went here tonight for my Mom's 77th birthday. I found out about this restaurant by watching an old Check Please episode. First of all, I like restaurants where you can make reservations online--this was not one of them. Thankfully one reviewer mentioned using a parking app to save a parking spot. That saved us lots of time driving around the neighborhood. We arrived on time and was told we would get the next table...which ended up in the direct path of the front door. Every time someone would hold the door open, a freezing breeze came in. We asked for another table and was told it would be a long wait. We asked for the table that was leaving next to us, and they quickly cleaned and cleared that table. Not that our move helped that much, but it was a little better. Prior to going to this place, I looked up reviews. It was ranked high as kid friendly. Knowing this going in was helpful, but if you are there before 6:30, expect to hear crying, screaming kids. Just about every table had 1-2 kids at them. Kids eat free there before a certain time, so once it got later, it was much quieter. They do get the meals out quickly which is perfect when you have whining, impatient kids. Don't think I hate kids, but our 11 year old has gone with us to restaurants since he was a baby. He was not aloud to scream, run around, or stand on his chair and disrupt other patrons. Regarding the food: Reviewers had recommended the cornbread. It was good, but does contain green chilies so my son did not like it. I ordered a Bloody Mary since many reviers had taken pictures of them. It too was good, but I was never asked if I wanted a different vodka, how spicy I wanted it, or if I wanted the bacon slice that people mentioned. My mother and I split the Brussel sprout salad...this was the best thing we ordered and I would go back for just that. My mom and I ordered the prime rib. It was perfect temp and size. It needed a little more seasoning for my taste though. My husband ordered the ribs. We were not a fan of the sauce...it tasted like chili sauce. They had another sweeter sauce that was much better. My son ordered a cheeseburger. He said it tasted great, but was soggy on the bottom. We ended the meal with the highly recommended cookie skillet. That was very good and can easily feed 4 people. So, would I go back again? Possibly. For 4 people, 3 mixed drinks, 1 soda, cornbread skillet, 1 Brussel sprout salad, 2 prime ribs, 1 full slab ribs, 1 cheeseburger and 1 cookie skillet came to $200 including tax and 20% tip.

I was there on a Saturday early afternoon brunch. We did a walk-in without reservation so it took about 45 minutes to get a table. I observed them rotating tables a little slow in this place, but maybe that has to do with maintaining certain service standard. We did not order any coffee or drink and started with the crab toast, the most expensive appetizer on their menu. The taste was good but they put too much on each toast; that made it difficult to eat as the meat kept falling off. I think they should have split the meat into equal portions on four toasts and that also made the order seem larger for the money spent. My wife ordered the turkey burger with asian slaw plus bacon potato cakes; the waitress asked if we wanted avocado and we added that for $1.50 extra charge. The mild flavor of the burger was great and we all liked it a lot, but when checked the photo later we were not sure where to find the marinated tomatoes. My order of corned beef skillet got mixed reaction. I thought it was just fine with the poached eggs on top; I especially liked the sauce. My wife tasted the corned beef and found it a little too salty for her taste. Overall we thought the place was worth the visit and would go again when around the neighborhood.

It was nice and food was good but service was very slow. Parking is also hard to find here. They have delicious deserts.

Excellent hometown restaurant in the Southport neighborhood of Chicago. Great outdoor seating, if eating on a non-winter day. Inside is quaint and spacious. Service is phenomenal with waiter constantly checking in. Their specialty is the Rotisserie Chicken. You can order it on a sandwich or in a salad. You will not be disappointed.

Crosby's has amazing food and great service in a super cozy environment. I live in the neighborhood and sometimes find myself there multiple times a week! My favorite dishes are the chicken chili, which is served like a dip with tortilla chips, and the breakfast potatoes, and I always get one of their Bloody Mary's, accompanied by a hearty garnish and beer back. My friends love the Brussel sprouts salad and monkey bread and my fiancé has tried and loved every breakfast entree.

Great place with consistently great food... it misses out on the fifth star, though, because I feel like the menu is significantly limited lately.... entrees these days are crabcakes, ribs, salmon, and swordfish... With the current menu, I'd say brunch is 5 stars and dinner is a solid 3, maybe 4 stars... Let's get some more variety on that menu!

Joined a large group as Crosby's Kitchen was able to accommodate a party of 12 for a late brunch. Classic American fare, generous servings, casual and friendly atmosphere, and efficient service. Would not go out of our way for a visit, but it was just right for our varied group.

This restaurant has good food in a nice environment. Its often packed with kids (free food for kids early). It would be a solid 4 stars (like the group name) if this were a food and ambiance review. The problem is that for all its success this group but doesn't hire well or train its staff very well - the hostesses seem like the just hired them off the street with no experience or training. If they don't get it right the increasing competition on Southport will cause them to snatch defeat from the jaws of the victory they should otherwise earn (they've had a near monopoly on that part of Southport but that is changing fast). The WORST experience is to order for pick up. The hostess will leave you on hold and forget you are there. You either wait on hold forever or call again and get the same crappy treatment. Hope they get it together because it could be worthy of the traffic.

I really enjoyed Crosby's Kitchen! We had the Spinach Dip appetizer. The Wrightwood Salad was delicious!! I loved the corn bread croutons. We enjoyed sitting outside and our server was terrific. I would highly recommend Crosby's Kitchen for a nice evening out.

I went to this restaurant on Southport in September with my daughter and her two teens. We all had great dinners. The staff was really well trained, gave good advice, was friendly and prompt. We did think it was quite pricey for what was served, but it is in a very popular area, and very crowded. All in all it was a lovely evening, everyone was happy. We had ribs, salmon, steak, and one veggie salad. plus dessert. all delicious. I recommend it!

Stopped in for breakfast. Sat at the bar and had a great conversation with the bartender. Both the atmosphere and food were wonderful. I had the Crosby omelet with deliciously seasoned breakfast potatoes. Definitely recommend.

Our family absolutely loves Crosby's. They cater to families without reducing the level of service or the quality of food. We come here at least a couple of times a month and appreciate that they offer kids eat free from 4-6 each night. Kids meals are nice quality that include fruit, milk/juice, and ice cream. If you want a quieter meal, I'd definitely recommend coming later at night and avoiding us. :) At busy times, use the NoWait reservations app to get your name on the list before you arrive.

We came here on the advice of our Airbnb hosts - they were not wrong! If you are looking to experience good American food, this is a great spot with a lovely atmosphere and lovely staff. We were a little sad to discover brunch is a weekend thing (seemingly everywhere) on our first day, so I opted for the grab cake sandwich and my partner had the rotisserie chicken sandwich with dipping crazy. Delicious! We made brunch the next two days - the eggs benedict were delicious and probably the best hash browns I have had. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Will definitely be coming back here if we are in town again.

The food was good, monkey bread and omelette were well cooked. The waitress was not very caring and they took away the syrup on the table bc it was time rather than waiting for us to have finished our meal.

A food server w/dirty hands and fingernails should have been warning enough, but we stayed out of curiosity & the favorable comments from Check Please. Well, the food was, at best, simply average. There's nothing at Crosby's Kitchen for me. I shall not return.

Very kind, good service and quick. Good food quality the only thing to improve the quality of the French fries. We will recommend and we will come back for sure!

Loved the chicken dip sandwich. The atmosphere was great, service wonderful. Excellent meeting place for old friends.

We went for Sunday brunch with a group of 9. The restaurant was extremely accommodating. The mimosas and the bloody mary's were amazing (the bloody mary could have been it's own meal - bacon and salami). The monkey bread is out of this world... I think that half of the table ordered the Wood Roasted Chicken Hash - so delicious! Will definitely be back when in town again!

We enjoyed dinner at Crosby’s Kitchen. We started off with shrimp fritters with an aoeli sauce made with buttermilk. Yummy. My daughter ordered a half rack of ribs and fries. She would have preferred it with less sauce. My friends enjoyed the hamburgers. I loved the roasted chicken. Do yourself a favor, order a biscuit with the maple butter. My friend ordered a cup of chicken tortilla soup but the waitress forgot the soup and brought it after dinner. The place was busy and it was obviously a neighborhood joint. The prices were mid range to somewhat pricey but it’s Chicago.

Wonderful prime rib on Saturday nights. Great service. Cozy, traditional atmosphere. Wait staff is solicitous of the many neighborhood families with young kids who frequent this restaurant. Kids eat free on certain nights, and the adults can relax and have a great meal, too.

I wouldn't go out of my way to go here. The swordfish I had was the smallest piece I've ever received in a restaurant. It was a sliver like from a child's menu. Everyone else seemed OK with their food, but absolutely nothing special.

I came here with four girlfriends and we had a great round table in the center of the cozy room with a burning fireplace and dimmed lights. The place is family friendly as well. We tasted free samplings of that weeks specialty wine courtesy of our friendly waiter -- and enjoyed delicious chicken off the bone and mashed potatoes. The salads are also generously portioned and very satisfying as a meal. We topped it off with a toasty cookie crumbler with ice cream - yum. The food is great!

We arrived at 9:30 on Sunday morning to a restaurant that was a third filled, but had a wait when we left so arrive early if you can. This place is popular with families. You know the food is good when people are willing to sit outside under heaters to eat when weather is in the high 40's. We were seated immediately, given water right away with the waiter returning promptly to take our order. The decor is fun with canning jars as ceiling lights. This is the place to go for breakfast if you are hungry because portions are huge!! You could easily take home half to have for lunch later. Our party shared an order of monkey bread which was enough soft, frosted cinnamon goodness for four people to each have two pieces. We had the crosby's omelette and lakeview omelette both loaded with fillings and cheese that stretched from the fork when cutting it. The three egg omelette is so loaded with filling that it looks like a four egg omelette. If you like cheese, I recommend the omelette. The potatoes mentioned on the menu are hash browns which are crispy on the outside and deliciously creamy on the inside. I would definitely come back.

We ordered a dinner to go and were not super hungry so decided on sandwiches. My daughter ordered a veggie burger which she liked and my son-in-law and I ordered the fish sandwich- grilled an slightly blackened mahi mahi on a fresh bun. We also shared the brussels sprouts with arugula and some dried blue berries, almonds and a little cheese- we did not want the bacon- with lemon vinegarette dressing, and it was delicious.

Crosby's has All American food. An updated Wisconsin supper club. Prime rib on Saturday nights. Excellent mashed potatoes. Families with young children very welcome. Long waits most nights so best to make a reservation. Quite close to Southport Brown Line stop.

Had a great meal with 4 adults and 2 young children. The food was fresh and very tasty, and kids eat from from 4-6.

We had the rotisserie chicken salad and the tuna poke. The salads were recommended and didn’t live up to expectations. The wonton chips with the tuna poke were greasy and some of the tuna was fibrous. The service was good.

I have been here a few times and it is always delicious! The monkey bread is a must have and the omelettes are also great!

Started with Bloody Mary that is served with bacon, pickle, salami, mozzarella, green olive AND a lime and a 7oz bottle of Miller Light--almost a meal in itself (- apparently this is a Wisconsin style Bloody Mary). Got the Monkey bread - hot, buttery Carmel-y yumminess. We ordered brussel sprout salad, veggie burger, chicken dip sandwich and chicken bean omelet. All really good. Server Alison couldn't have been better- personable, informative and delivered our food quickly. Dori the manager was so very nice--chatted with us about the food prep. Would go back again to try the rotisserie chicken-there must have been at least fifty on the spits that we could see in the kitchen.

After going to the movies at the Music Box, we were up for a bite to eat. Enter Crosby's kitchen. We started with the lobster deviled eggs, so sumptuous! The homemade biscuits with jam and goat cheese were delightful. For our mains, we had the crab cakes and half rack of ribs, both were tasty and hit the spot. Solid service, yummy food, and a chill environment with good drinks. Definitely would come back again!

We got there at 545, pre-theatre, and were amazed at the number of tables with small children - almost all of them. I was very pleased that despite us being 15 minutes late because of heavy traffic, and the restaurant having a wait list, we were able to be seated almost immediately. Service was good but I was quite disappointed in my chicken. It was supposed to be brick-roasted but it seemed like it had been steamed at some point. Mrs thought her sandwich was ok.

I come here often with girlfriends for dinner. You can be healthy if you want & get one of their FABULOUS salads, or not, & get their biscuits, cornbread, ribs & mashed potatoes :) It's ALL good there. Some dishes stand out more than others, but we have yet to have anything unsatisfactory. The cocktails, beer & wine lists offer a nice variety. The desserts will knock your socks off. The only caveat is that children eat free until 6pm, so there may still be some kids there if you arrive at 7pm.

Walked over to across Crosby’s Kitchen after a Cubs game at Wrigley. Great place with plenty of outdoor seating. We sat inside and they had the windows open. God and drinks were great. Service excellent. Will be back next time in Chicago.

Close to Wrigley Field, close to the L train, this little neighborhood restaurant was a pleasant surprise. Small menu of breakfast and lunch foods; I did not have high hopes - thinking it was going to be bar food. Food was amazing! Nice portions. Started with lobster deviled eggs which were scrumptious and guacamole which was chunky and tasty. When you walk in to the restaurant, you see the many rotisserie chickens roasting. This is a key ingredient in what they serve and it does not disappoint. Had the chicken dip sandwich which was loaded with chicken and flavored well. The salads were loaded with chicken and fun ingredients. My only disappointment was the wait staff was a bit robotic; could be more engaging. Great food, outside seating, Cubs game played on giant flat screens. Enjoy!

Came here for late Saturday night dinner. Smoked salmon appetizer was excellent--perfectly seasoned. The spinach artichoke dip served with fresh tortilla chips was also a hit. When we were running low on chips, our server asked if we wanted more and then brought them. My wife and I the prime rib special. It was a good piece of meat and cooked as ordered, but was over salted--especially on the outer edges. I'd like to try this again sometime, but would kindly let them know that I have blood pressure issues and would prefer no added salt if possible. There is a good selection of nice beers, spirits and Ca wines.

Small menu, and it's all delicious! They offer a few items from the rotisserie and also comfort food like chicken and biscuits. The lobster deviled eggs are to die for! Downsides: because the food is so good, there is usually a wait for a table. The acoustics make it very loud, so I recommend sitting outside. And it is pricy!

We stopped in at this local restaurant for lunch during a street fair and have to say that for three of four of us the meal was below expectations. My husband had the blackened mahi mahi sandwich and it was tasty and delicious. The salad was overdressed and soggy. The chicken hash skillet was more like a pot roast and the texture was not very appealing. Our server was slow as well.

We were going to go back to the equally good place just down the road, but it was closed due to the cold snap. This place was open and there wasn't a vacant table shortly after we sat down. I can see why! They were participating in the Chicago Restaurant week and we got an excellent lunch in three courses, with great eggs followed by tasty salmon and salad. Probably shouldn't have let myself get talked into the bourbon ciders, but they were delicious too.

We go to Crosby's Kitchen somewhat often. They have good beer, creative cocktails and good food. They have quite a few tables so it's usually easy to get a table without having to wait long. They also have TV's (not many) so you can at least know what's going on at the Cubs game while enjoying your brunch/lunch/dinner.

We had a Varity of people with a couple small kids and all enjoyed the special service and unique menu. The kids were served first and the rest of us could enjoy the meal and drinks. Great country type atmosphere!

The corn bread looked and smelled great. Unfortunately it had the consistency and zest of oatmeal. biscuits were average nothing memorable Turkey burger nice taste and spice but the texture of bread pudding!!! Slaw was best item crunchy and nice Asian hint All in all not bad but to many great spots in chicago to repeat One and Done!!!!

The Crosby's is a very fun place with a fireplace and booths and a bar. The food is very good, and the wine list is above average. The staff is very helpful, friendly and fun. You will enjoy the family friendly place.

We were in the city for a visit and stopped in to celebrate a family event. My wife and I decided to try the rib which sounded good. While the flavor was OK, we were underwhelmed by how thin or little meat on the ribs compared to what we are used to in most restaurants we visit in the central part of Illinois. Service was great. Atmosphere was decent, Prices a little high, particularly for the ribs. We do get back to that area, and may give the venue another try on a different venue, but with so many dining options, it may be awhile.

The food was actually good here. I really enjoyed my eggs Benedict with bacon. However with breakfast/brunch in a restaurant I would expect a choice of coffees. Not the case here. A friend require non dairy Milk for there tea but this was not on option either. Important to expand on drinks as this is as important as the food.

After a night in the city, went there for Brunch. Second time there for brunch. The Blueberry cornbread with maple butter--outstanding. Also the Bloody Mary's great. The menu changes but both times very very good. The chicken black bean chili was very tasty--not too strong & not too weak. Going back for dinner soon. Heard it was great for dinner. Had to wait for a table--but worth the wait.

I had a great dining experience at this restaurant! We opted for the outdoor seating on a nice afternoon, and the outdoor seating is perfect! The waiter was very attentive and accommodating. The food was absolutely perfect! I’m glad we chose this great neighborhood restaurant and will definitely be back!

First time I've come to this neighborhood restaurant located on the corner with no valet parking. Very pleasant host. I had a comfortable seat at the bar for lunch. Excellent service. Wonderful rigatoni (though a bit spicey). Good coffee. Full bar.

Attentive service that combines kids choices and also a good wine list and entrées that adults will love, rotisserie

Solid comfort food says it all. The biscuits are great! The "deconstructed" chicken pot pie pretty good, but it was warm, not hot. Thumbs up on all the burgers. Friendly attentive service.

Crosby's Kitchen is a modern, urban view at a traditional BBQ atmosphere, and it works. We skipped entrees our visit, but the warm buttermilk biscuits w/ goat cheese apple butter was incredible. The salad, once again with goat cheese chunks and cornbread croutons was ice cold and bathed in a light balsamic glaze. The skillet cookie at the end w/ some coffee went down very nice as well.

On a drizzly Black Friday, I decided to shop near my daughter's home in Wrigleyville, rather than head for Michigan Avenue, and ended up in Southport, a neighborhood of shops, restaurants, and homes. I dropped into Crosby's for coffee, and ended up ordering the lobster-stuffed deviled eggs for a mid-morning snack. They were excellent. I sat at the bar, and felt very comfortable. The restaurant was full, and it wasn't quite lunch time. I usually don't give reviews on places where I've only dropped in, but I want to go back for a meal!

Wow what a great place!! Highly recommend!! Absolutely best Bloody Mary's and food was absolutely delicious! Lobster deviled eggs were amazing!!

Stopped in to have breakfast Omelet was excellent and the potatoes were unique. Looks like dinner would be good they specialize in fire rotisserie.

This restaurant is amazing! The food has so many flavors and awakens your palate from the regular plain salad or chicken. We started with the cornbread not one of my favorites but here OMG delicious w maple butter to die for. Then we had the NY Strip Salad so many flavors that just explode in your mouth. We also had the chicken dip very good. The service and food were great this is a place you have to try. We ate outside and sometime the service can be forgotten but not here our waitress was great. Try this place you won’t be disappointed.

Yummy food, great menu and service. You have to have the cornbread, no matter what else you order! Don't miss this treat!

It was a super busy day and quite honestly, don't know if it was worth the wait. They were out of things and I waiter didn't seem to care too much about doing a good job.

I came here for lunch. I ordered the Wrightwood Salad, which was very good. There were 4 other salads that sounded good too. I'll have to come back :-) This place is always bustling (lots of kids & moms, during the day) so I ate at the bar. The bartender was very nice & the food arrived quickly. There are tables outdoors, but it was rainy today. The outdoor tables are very pleasant in the evening.

We have eaten both breakfast and lunch here recently and been pleased by the food and service. They are very accurate with wait times The service is very good, the staff is responsive and they will work to make everything right. Start with their fantastic guacamole and a Bloody Mary (served with a beer back). Breakfast items, veggie burgers and s chicken dip ( like a French dip with grilled chicken) were all delicious and you select a side dish Yum

Our choice for Labor Day brunch. The food was delicious and customer service was great. The blueberry cornbread was amazing. The corned beef skillet had huge chunks of corned beef and crispy redskin potatoes with eggs covered in just the right amount of Hollandaise sauce. I expected corned beef hash and this was SO much better. The omelet and hash browns were excellent, too. The staff and servers all followed safety protocols. I’d definitely come back.

The worst ribs - ever! Dry, burnt, and overcooked. Side of green beans - stringy, ends not trimmed, also overcooked. Will never eat here again. It’s in our neighborhood and that is very unfortunate. A lazy effort for what should be easy food in a classy neighborhood.

This was my first time at CK. I was meeting a friend who I not had seen in 23 years. I was hoping I had picked a place for such a momentous occasion. Indeed it was. The food and service were first tier. I put my trust in our waiter who steered us to the most popular selections for appetizers and main entree. I had their famous rotisserie chicken and my friend had their chicken salad. The service was excellent. It was a great first experience, one that I will repeat often in the future.

I have been here 3 or 4 times now over the past year. It is excellent every time. It's a very family friendly restaurant, it is always full of families with children of all ages. I love the crab cakes and corn bread.

Friendly service, large portions of tasty food with a neighborhood vibe. The tenderloin sliders and steak au poivre were top notch. The starters and salads were tasty and huge. If I lived in the neighborhood, this would be my regular go to spot.

I love this place. Super cozy and ideal for little ones. Don't miss their brussel sprout salad, veggie burger and make sure to get their key lime pie! :) YUM!!!

order the lobster deviled eggs and crab cakes. I had the turkey burger and it was very moist, with the corn cobs special. delish. The manager, Maria, was excellent and was hustling like a great, great manager does. well done crosby kitchen.

Enjoyable meal! This place was busy on the Monday night of Labor Day weekend--glad we had a reservation! We were able to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful evening. The menu had appealing gastropub-ish options and a decent selection of beers and wines. Very family-friendly location with lots of kids in the restaurant and in the surrounding neighborhood. We started with the Brussels sprouts salad, which was totally delicious!--fresh and crisp with a light dressing. They were kind to split it into two bowls for us. We followed this with a turkey burger and a cheeseburger. Both were flavorful; the cheeseburger, ordered well-done, came out perfectly cooked--cooked through, but not charred. The only disappointment was the fries, which were a bit cold. Service was excellent--fast, friendly, attentive. Very casual spot and would happily return when in the mood for tavern-like food.

Our first visit to Crosbys, very popular restaurant. Lots of families and kids. Small menu but great food. Would definitely go back. Cosy warm atmosphere.

I will give this place four stars because of the pricing....otherwise, it would have received 5. The décor is really nice inside, love the tile floors, the beautiful wood treatments, and the big windows that let in lots of light. The booths are comfy and the outside seating is also plentiful. They have restored this local eating place to an upscale dining establishment with a local flair. My daughter and I visited on Saturday to enjoy a breakfast - we had heard so much about Crosby's. We were definitely not disappointed as the food lived up to it's stellar rating. It was beautifully presented, by our cheerful server, and we had excellent service the entire time we were there. My only complaint is that the breakfast for two was near $40. And, for two women - who enjoyed no alcohol at breakfast - only coffee, orange juice, granola, yogurt with fruit, and eggs with bacon and toast - I thought a bill of near $40 was a bit much. Therefore, only 4 stars. Hopefully, they can get their pricing in line ..... it's such a really neat place.

This is one of those great places that feels like an old friend, even the first time you walk in. They have the best turkey burger I've ever tasted. The service is usually good and friendly. Kids eat free between 4 - 6 pm, which is great. (I hate paying $10 for buttered noodles that cost about 35 cents.) It's a great family place to go hang out and have a burger or salad and a beer. Highly recommend.

Our foursome (including an 8 year old) enjoyed a Saturday brunch here near Wriggleyville. This place has a relaxed neighborhood feel with top quality food and friendly service. We loved the blueberry cornbread and Deviled eggs with lobster. My eggs benedict entree was very good. The kud enjoyed the crayons and kids menu with PB&J! An excellent place!

Went here on a Sunday afternoon for brunch. It was a gorgeous day and we wanted to sit outside on their patio but our hungry stomachs decided on first available. Four of us were seated in a booth next to the window. We ordered Bloody Mary's to start that were wonderful. The eggs florentine was delicious with brioche bread and smoked turkey. Others ordered the Benedict of the day, turkey burger, and Ahi tuna salad. The hashbrowns are a must -- whatever they put in them is unlike any other hashbrowns I have ever had!

If you like pork chops, go on a Tuesday or Wednesday and order their special. Huge double chops and perfectly prepared (as is everything they offer). The service is friendly and efficient.

Try the Rotisserie Chicken and Biscuits. It's a new lighter version of a chicken pot pie and super delicious!

Came here on a Friday evening and it was a great experience. Hubby had the prime rib and I had the rainbow trout, the dishes were prepared perfectly. I got the brussel sprouts on the side and they were delicious. The kids eat free between 4 and 6, which is super nice plus the kids meal comes with a scoop of ice cream. My kids want to come here every week now. My one annoyance... it's a very busy place and not very big. We didn't know that they take reservations and several tables opened up but no one was sitting in them. It was super irritating, staff should explain to patrons who are waiting. So in summary, make a reservation! and you'll have a fabulous experience. Quick tip: if you're not from the area... walk down Southport, it's full of cute shops and lots of beautiful windows. Just make sure you make it Julius Meinl, it's an incredible coffee shop.

So good! Every time I visit my sister in Chicago, we have to go to Crosby's. The chicken dip is my go to-- literally ten million times better than the French dip! The mash potatoes are amazing and the Brussels sprout salad is the best! The jalapeño corn bread is so tasty and I don't even like corn bread! Service is great too and it is always busy and kids are definitely welcome!

There is not much options for vegetarians. A lot of very meaty dishes for meat lovers. However what I picked (salad ) was delicious. Service kind of slow. Very crowded during lunch. They don’t have their own parking and parking on meters on streets is very limited.

Good environment not to loud at all like a lot of restaurants. Very nice cocktails menu to go along with their amazing food. Haven’t been to a restaurant that serves the same dishes as they do which is a huge plus for me. I recommend trying something off of the Rotisserie! If you have a large group I would also call ahead because it does get busy.

What a brunch. Monkeybread was my favorite as well as the Bluberry CornBread...eggs were perfectly cooked and the mahimahi sandwich was perfectly cooked as mimosas and champagne kept flowing. The server was pretty awesome and really enjoyed the service. Prices were reasonable and the food was fabulous. Very clean and nice trendy vibe that makes you feel comfortable althought it can get crowdy. We waited for 15min at the bar, so no trouble there. Loved the ambience and would definitely be back at summer. Keep it rockin guys'! Thumbs up for photos.

Lovely atmosphere and really friendly service, right down the street from the new Amazon Book Store. The decor was really quirky and fun. I subtracted a star because my kale salad was small and unimaginative, but tasty and refreshing. I ordered the citrus dressing instead of the peanut dressing.

They offer free kids dinner if you come before 6- and still inexpensive if you come later. Kids like it, food is good, service was friendly and everyone left happy.

This place had really good food like the Monkey Bread and tailor made omelets. Our server, Emily, was great and helped create a friendly atmosphere even with our party of eight including a 8 month old baby.

Our kids live and work in the neighborhood so Crosby's is a frequent 'go-to' for lunch and supper. We haven't been disappointed with anything on the menu. I think my personal favorite is the mini filet sandwiches with blue cheese and candied bacon. If I could replicate those at home, I'd have them at least once a week. The iron skillet cornbread is a not to be missed treat - make sure you slather it with maple butter. Yum! And if you like brussels sprouts at all, try the salad. It's amazing! The Sashimi Tuna Salad is awesome too. I could keep going but I'd probably just end up listing the whole menu. I'm pretty sure you won't be disappointed no matter what you order. We've come to Crosby's laden with strollers, babies and toddlers and they always make us feel welcome.

Babie, babies and more babies. This is where the nighbood folks feel at home and bring families fir sunday brunch. Everone seemed very well behaved The food was quite good. You must try the monkeybread which is a version of a cinamon roll made in a cast iron skillet One friend had a fish sandwich. I share thr southport omlette wih my other friend. Plenty of food. There is nice sidewLk patio space, dogs welcome Enjoy!

I remember this place from a few years ago and at the food was fab. Ordered the chicken salad and it had a few hard pieces in there like chicken bone or gristle. My friend had the same but there wasn't much dressing on. We order lemonade. No refill here! It was okay as I was with friends for a casual lunch but the food was only so so.

I end up here with my ladies at least once a month. Monday’s they have the BEST chicken noodle soup special. The rotisserie chickens are delicious, you can’t go wrong with the wrightwood salad, and the cornbread is out of control! Their crab cakes are surprisingly AMAZING! Super friendly staff all wear checkered farm style shirts. Love this family of restaurants. Highly recommend. Grab a spot outside in the summertime for a nice Southport St. experience.

Great service, excellent food and great selection of beers and cocktails. Had a great time and will definitely come back.

I love this place! first went in Sep 2019, had the chicken dip sandwich, the chicken is amazing so moist and tasty, and weekend brunch was awesome! I had the cornbeef hash, went again this year Sep 2022 and they still had the chicken dip sandwich which was just as amazing so I had it 2 days in a row, my patner had the steak salad also 2 days in a row as it was so good. The staff are friendly and on point, happy to help with anything even when the place was really busy on a baseball game day, can't wait to get back to Chicago again (we are from the UK) and this will be my goto place again for food, clean friendly freash tasty.

I met a friend here for brunch at 11 on a beautiful fall Saturday, and I think we waited about 15 minutes or so. So not a bad choice in that regard! The hosts were friendly and attentive, letting us know "we're just cleaning off your table now" and generally keeping the crowd from getting too restless. There are definitely a lot of babies here, but also plenty of young couples and groups of guys and girls waiting to watch football. They have a long bar with a few TVs, the overall space has lots of windows providing sunlight, and I think there's a fireplace on one side so the vibe is cozy. My friend picked the spot because she said they had amazing bloody Marys. She ordered one and it came with a little half beer thingy (a beer back? I don't know, I don't drink Bloody Marys) and a skewer of pickle, cheese, tomato, salami, and something else. Looked pretty delicious actually. Like lunch. I got a mimosa which was surprisingly not sweet. They say they use fresh juice and I believe them, but perhaps the champagne they use is really dry, But the overall taste was a little more bitter than I'd hoped. I got the eggs florentine, which is toasted brioche topped with a slice of smoked turkey, two poached eggs, and a drizzle of hollandaise. This is all over a bed of spinach and I got fruit on the side. The dish was just okay - the eggs were poached perfectly and I liked the bread. Meat was pretty salty and I wish there was more hollandaise. I guess it's healthier without but would've been tastier with! And I think serving it over a bed of raw spinach was just sort of...weird. If the spinach had been cooked or more integrated into the dish I think that'd be better. As it was, it was sort of a garnish and the raw flavor didn't really add much to the dish. The fruit was generic melon/pineapple fruit cup mix, and some of it was kind of soft around the edges, not as fresh tasting. Anyway I think it has a great comfy atmosphere, but my food was still pretty average. These are the same people who own D.O.C. and Dunlay's and Frasca and there are some menu repeats. The place reminds me of Dunlay's on Clark. But food quality is better at Frasca!

I had some friends in town and we enjoyed an easy Sunday brunch here before they head out. We sat outside and ordered several items which include the Monkey Bread and CrabToast - a must! The only disappointment was the busser brought us a few straws as requested in a dirty cup :-0, it was impossible to not noticed the stain inside the cup.

One of our favorite brunch AND dinner spots in Lakeview that we would like to keep secret but the fine owners have already let the secret out! We eat here several times a week, are on a first name basis with most of the wait staff and mangers, and looking forward to their new, adults-only establishment opening up just behind them. The owners also own The Gage downtown. Warning: Children Everywhere! Wait until later to dine here for dinner. Brunch on the weekends is the worst. The double-wide strollers are stacked up inside and there is always a screaming child somewhere. Where are the parents? Well, they are there and just watch their kids throw tantrums and ruin everyone else's morning...even the wait staff has complained to us about this "problem". Wake up Crosby's and provide muzzles to every child under the age of 8.

From the moment I saw the flame rotisserie in the kitchen and the decor of the restaurant I knew that the team at Crosby's Kitchen's correlates its attention to detail to its fresh ingredients in its food and the importance of its customers surroundings. Sharing the Lump Crab & guacamole sour dough toast is a must, the combination of the white crab meat, avocado and the heat of jalapeño is as comforting as the soft toasted bread. My main course Chargrilled turkey burger was lifted with the Asian slaw, but the star of the dish was the vegetable special side roast corn on the cob with chipotle aioli. The range of fresh salads stood out, not just because they include a fantastic Brussels Sprout dominated option, but you can add rotisserie chicken from that impressive flaming medieval contraption that produces amazing results in the kitchen (worth a closer look). Crosby's kitchen is a quality bistro in a desirable area of Chicago. Consistent with a well fused menu and a fantastic wine list. My suggestion is that Lump Crab & guacamole toast, oh or the Brussels sprout salad... and then there's the devil eggs.... I think you get the point. Great restaurant!

Great restaurant and bar scene to watch Cubs on tvs with all around sound. Heaters with outdoor seating as well. Families, singles, and couples can enjoy a relaxed game day environment with delicious food and varied menu.

We had a group of 5 mid-afternoon prior to a Hawks game. Atmosphere was above average, but nothing special. Service was very good, from the hostess to the wait staff. Food was very good, with some interesting twists. We all had different dishes, and everyone was happy. Prices pretty standard for the area. Will definitely return!

Crosby's is in the perfect location to satisfy the needs of both young families in Lakeview and the dating crowd looking for a reasonable meal. The food at Crosby's is solid - nothing too different from the other restaurants that are part of this chain, but everything is well-prepared and worth the cost. Must haves include the chicken dip and the Wrightwood salad, although most items on the menu are solid. Brunch is FANTASTIC given the great bloody's and brunch cocktails served. They take reservations, which are recommended during the cooler months (extensive outdoor seating is closed, limiting capacity) and for brunch.

Service is friendly and fast -- the food is good but not noteworthy. However, we had a very late dinner, so that may have affected our experience.

Very close to Wrigley Field sits Crosby's Kitchen. We made reservations and ended up having dinner twice in 5 days because Crosby's was so good. We had great wait staff and the food was excellent from seafood to specials to children's entrees. Great friendly place to eat with wonderful food!

Visited here recently as I always see they are busy! for good reason. Tis is n a great location on Southport, but it is the food that has people coming back. Great portions (I had the broasted chicken) one of their specialties and it was cooked perfectly. Other persons had the sausage sampler (Delicious) the Salmon was superb. Great selection of apps too. Great beer and Wine menu and excellent for families couples and small groups.

All of us enjoyed our food, the ingredients and their preparation was top notch. I enjoyed the steak salad and was surprised by how much steak it came with.

Great place for rotisserie as well as good kids options. Good for adults too for a casual dinner, different nights have rotisserie specials including prime rib and pork chop.

Our family of five went here on a Sunday morning at 10:30 AM for brunch. Our thoughts: Good stuff: * we had a reservation and were seated within 10 minutes. * atmosphere was upbeat * restaurant decor was nice * server was friendly * prices are reasonable Less good stuff: * food was mediocre--we were disappointed. French toast was the best thing we ordered; bacon was very undercooked (almost sent it back); egg sandwich order was wrong and not that interesting; lakeview omelette was way overcooked; chicken chili benedict was just not very good. * noise level was high--we could hear the person next to us talking, but hard to hear from across the table. * service was slow.

We don't spend too much time north of the Lincoln Park neighborhood unless a restaurant is recommended to us. We were tipped off to Crosby's Kitchen during a recent episode of Check Please on WTTW. It received glowing reviews and, in our opinion, was too good to pass up. It is located west of Wrigley Field and street parking is a cross-your-fingers proposition. But once you are seated, you quickly realize the trip was worth the effort. Service is knowledgeable and friendly and attentive and there are some unique, off-the-wall items on the menu that have to be tasted to be believed. Crosby's regulars claim it is "comfort food that is prepared well" and the popularity of the restaurant would be testament to that premise. But it seems so much more than that. Chicken dip with brussel sprouts was an interesting appetizer. Other tempting appetizers are lobster deviled eggs, smoked salmon, Maryland crab cake, iron skillet cornbread, warm buttermilk biscuits and spinach dip with tortilla chips. Lobster and crab cake usually is too rich for my blood. But the lobster deviled eggs were excellent. They went well with the entree, BBQ baby back ribs. But I'll bet they also would have blended with Maryland crab cakes, wood roasted chicken and biscuits, veal brisket stroganoff, BBQ salmon or grilled Paulina Meat Market sausages. Off the rotissiere items are half of a wood roasted chicken, herb crusted double cut marinated pork chop, prime rib and wood roasted filet of beef. Another recommended option is the Wrightwood salad with rotissiere chicken. For dessert, I chose the cinnamon apple bread pudding over the key lime pie. I wasn't disappointed. It only goes to show that, no matter where you go in the Chicago area to find a quality restaurant, you'll find one.

Went for lunch before seeing a play at the Mercury Theater with long time friends. Everyone ordered the half chicken even tho it was officially not on the menu because it was “Brunch” time. Our waitress, Susan, said, “No Problem,” I can do that for you and she did. IT WAS EXCELLENT! Half of rotisserie chicken with delicious mashed potatoes. We shared the Iron Skillet Corn Bread-which was awesome- a must have. What a delicious way to spend time with friends and have a great meal. Should you go to “Crosby’s Kitchen,” ask for Susan. Susan was an excellent waitress and very funny which made it even more enjoyable. A great time had by all. They offer outdoor seating.

Great food and outdoor seating was available! Umbrellas shaded us as we made our choices and enjoyed dinner. My husband and I ordered two meals and shared them. Nice surprise, they separated the dinners for us. The broccoli salad was delicious as was the chicken sandwich with au jus. I would pass next time on the root beer. It seemed flavorless. We specifically asked to sit outside in a shaded area. Great experience.

Ok so everyone is on trip advisor now so you can't hide bad service these days. I was there -sat at the bar with a friend on the night the cubs clenched the playoffs. We were not demanding at all and the bar was not busy. Two girls behind the bar that left me with a poor taste in my mouth. And this wasn't the first time. I'll go back as the food is good but won't sit at the bar next time.

We came here with another couple and really enjoyed it..Our server was amazing and very friendly! The grilled artichoke app was really good. Also enjoyed the sashimi salad. My wife and I shared the full slab of ribs..We left nothing!

Our family decided to go here for brunch on fathers' day. Although the restaurant was quite crowded, we were seated in about 5 minutes. Hostess was very pleasant and calm, in a very busy atmosphere! The food was delicious, bloody Marys are a must with the BACON! Also, the deviled eggs are fantastic! We will definitely return!

My daughter and I stopped in this eatery for a late lunch. Business was brisk so we waited at the bar until our table was ready. After a sip of wine, we were escorted to our table and promptly met our server. We ordered spinach dip as appetizer and both had the chicken dip with brussel sprouts. The chicken is prepared on a rotisserie as are most of the entrees here. The sandwich is served with jack cheese, tomatoe, onion, arugula and chicken au jus. Very tasty, moist, large portions that we couldn't finish in one sitting. Now to the Brussels sprouts. For me, they are the showcase here, offered as a salad (lightly blanched tossed in lemon vinaigrette, served with dried blueberries, bacon, almonds and manchego cheese; or as a roasted side with sandwiches/ entrees. We had them as sides to our chicken dips. Don't leave this restaurant until you've tried them. This place seems popular so I would plan accordingly. Street parking is hit and miss.

We had a family gathering at Crosby's. They offer free meals for small kids in the late afternoon until 6 PM so there were lots of young families in the place. The kids menu has noodles, chicken fingers and ice cream. And they have plenty of space for inside stroller parking. For the adults, the menu includes steaks, chicken and salmon. They offer a nice beer and wine list. We enjoyed our visit.

nice, cozy dining room, large bar, friendly staff. Excellent salads to choose from then some really unique takes on classic food. Fish, steaks, burgers, soups, lots of choices for everyone. Lot's of offerings in this neighborhood a bit south of Wrigley Field, bars, etc, and a great ice cream place nearby, too.

What a great space, very good food, knowledgeable staff and decent prices. I wish we lived closer so we could visit more frequently. CAUTION: If you get an early weekend dinner it can be crowded with lots of kids. This did not impact my review. A great place to take kids I guess. I was amazed. It looked like a daycare with a full bar. The crowd changed as the evening continued.

Not knowing Chicago at all, we were fortunate enough to stumble across Southport Ave. from our Airbnb nearby. The outdoor seating on this corner restaurant and the aromas emanating from the rotisserie grill were too much to resist for this weary traveler. So we parked it at a table, ordered up some cornbread for an appetizer and then proceeded to devour their 1/2 chicken hot off the rotisserie, along with grilled corn on the cob! Wow, very nice meal! My son had the pork chops which were seasoned nicely, along with mashed potatoes that were also excellent! Portions were generous - we took some food home and had no room for desert! Great flavors and friendly folks in a nice neighborhood.

Excellent place to go any time of day! Their cornbread skillet is amazing. The Bloody Mary with a beer sidecar is fun. Their salads never disappoint and the sandwiches are always terrific. It's an easy place to take kids since there are always a number of them there (they eat free at certain times). Cosy atmosphere with plenty of seating options - bar, booths, indoor, outdoor, fireplace. I've never been disappointed. The cookie skillet is a great way to end a meal.

Good food, in a great location on Southport...in the midst of wonderful shopping. The waitstaff are great, eating outside is the best if you can get a seat and the weather allows. Lots of families come here, so it is good for little kids.

If you're in the Lakeview area and hungry, make it a point to stop at Crosby's Kitchen. Our first visit was simply outstanding. This is a popular neighborhood restaurant that caters to all. Our Saturday evening visit found this restaurant packed—friends, couples and families. We started with the Lobster Deviled Eggs and the Spinach Dip. The Grilled Paulina Meat Market Sausages was delicious! Also enjoyed around our table, the BBQ Salmon, the Chicken and the Pork Chop. We finished off the evening sharing a Chocolate Nutella Brownie...oh yeah! There is a full bar with abundant beer, wine and spirits selections. Our server, Tonjya, was fun, friendly and very attentive. Weather permitting, there is outdoor dining. Reservations accepted. And I noticed ample baby stroller parking, too! Simply outstanding!

Don't miss the deviled eggs and cornbread appetizers! Drinks were perfect for a lunch on their streetside patio as well.

I went here with my adult children and three year-old granson for lunch recently. We had heard about the place from friends and they all thought it was great. I'd have to agree. The lunch menu is more a brunch menu, with pancakes, eggs and sausages, etc, but there are plenty of other choices like burgers and salads. I had the fried egg sandwich and it was so-o-o good even though it was so bad for me. The crabcake is great but get the appetizer portion unless you have a really big appetite because it is the size of a hockey puck. The green salad with grilled tuna was also good--sushi grade tuna barely seared and arranged in slices next to the greens. Plenty of kid's choices too, especially the monkey bread. It's their take on a glazed cinnamon roll and all of us adults fought the little guy for pieces. The noise level is high so children won't bother anyone but try to avoid a table facing the door--each time it opens a blast of cold air hits you. An excellent stop for breakfast or lunch.
two words: Monkey Bread
We went for Easter brunch and were not disappointed. We loved the fried monkey bread that came in a skillet; oohy gooey and so warm and tasty. Our Bloody Mary's were spicy, and came with a small bottle of Miller High Life- just as it should! Two of our party got the special; a bacon eggs benedict, which they loved. The rest of us had fluffy omelets, some with hash browns, I chose the fruit. Pineapple, strawberries and orange, perfect.
