Would have been perfect except for a missing dinner!

By 385eileenz |

Full on a Sunday evening. We were a party of five. Four of us were first timers. Appetizers were excellent. Pro and con to follow…. Con -Service was good except for the one of us not getting his main order of Sausage, peppers and onions with a side of mashed potatoes when the rest of us received our main dish. First, he received a lonely side of roasted potatoes instead of the mashed (when all the other main dishes were brought) but without his main dish of sausage with peppers and onions. Roasted potatoes were taken back and after about 5 minutes the ¾ cup of mashed potatoes came, but again…No main dish! Finally, after another 7-8 mins. the sausage came but the potatoes were already eaten while hot. The rest of us had already gotten through half of our main dishes. We had given tastes of our food to our friend so as not to be eating while he sat there. He told the waiter, “Never mind, cancel it!” So, the sausage was refused but after another 8 minutes, they were again brought by the manager with an apology and said there would be no charge. By then his experience was spoiled and his dinner was taken home by another in our party. Unfortunately, the dinner party was for his birthday Not sure why this happened and whether it was the fault of the kitchen, or the waiter. Pro- The food! The zucchini blossoms were crisp with lovely soft cheese and small side of marinara. The calamari were exactly like calamari and that sauce was spicy marinara, also delicious. Veggie lasagna excellent. The wedge salad phenomenal. You swear the blue cheese is blue cheese. Scallops and linguini were nicely garlicky, and the Great Mane steak was a giant mushroom with a sauce but not the consistency of a steak. That was just fair. There was another pasta dish ordered which had green small, rolled pastas in a sauce. Desserts ordered were the banana pudding and the fudge ice cream sundae. Both were reordered a second time as they were too good for only a bite or two when passed. Crowded, noisy, background music a bit louder than liked and our waiter Ethan was attentive and apologetic for the sausage fiasco. Would have liked to know how or why this happened.

Gobamacked

I was dubious when a friend wanted to go to here but she prevailed and we went for lunch. The menu read like most others, soups, burgers, chicken and waffles, pasta etc. The difference was it is vegan and I must say watching food come out of the kitchen I couldn’t tell the difference. I had French onion soup which was delicious along with a large crouton topped with what felt and tasted like cheese. Pasta bolognese which was rigatoni with a delicious sauce that was almost as good as the real thing. One friend had the meatball sub and we all agreed it was the best at the table. If I didn’t know it was vegan I would have been fooled. We had the ice cream sunday which was amazingly delicious. The service is excellent and the staff is great at explaining the menu to us. A beautiful room compliments the ambiance. Highly recommended and I surely will return in the future.

First vegan restaurant and was delicious!

By Julie S |

We were visiting my vegan daughter who lives in the area, so agreed to take her since she had told us how good the restaurant was. I was pleasantly surprised how good the food was, as this was my first visit to a vegan restaurant (I've been to a vegetarian restaurant). There were four of us, so we ordered eight items to share. All were very yummy! The Italian Sausage dish tasted like real meat with a delicious sauce and was my favorite. The crab cakes were yummy, light but with great flavors. The truffle potatoes were tasty with a nice crunch. And the watermelon salad was a nice way to start the meal. I was full from the food, although not overly stuffed like when I'm not eating vegan. They had some good local craft beers and delicious cocktails too. Overall, service was good. Oddly, we started with one waiter, and switched after ordering our drinks, with no explanation. Our waitress was efficient, but not overly friendly. In general, nice atmosphere.

Amazing food ruined by rude server

By Kate M |

Read about this restaurant online and had to try it whilst visiting LA. Food did not disappoint! Highlights were the crab cakes and the panna cotta, hard to believe they were both plant based as tasted exactly like the real thing! Loses a star for the service unfortunately. Our server was very rude and as soon as we made our order (starter, main and dessert) he exclaimed 'that won't be enough!' We said if we were still hungry we would just order more. As soon as we finished he was straight over to us 'you're still hungry right?' When we told him that no we were actually quite satisfied his face dropped. Not sure if the staff are on some sort of commission for their spend per head or sales of small plates here but please less of the pushy service! He then proceeded to bring our bill over and constantly stare at it as he walked past (my friend still had half a glass of wine at this point and we had been in the restaurant for all of 45 minutes!) We felt rushed as if we had to leave and my friend commented that it had ruined her experience which I agreed it had. Such a shame as the food was so good.

I love meat, and I love Crossroads.

By Josh547 |

I love meat, and I love Crossroads. Anyone can have a delicious meal here and everyone should. By eating vegan you’re doing well by the planet, and by eating at Crossroads you’re doing well by your tastebuds. I loved the chicken Parmesan tonight, the kale Caesar, and the banana cream pie. Delish!!

Uneventful

By TinaRahman |

We went for an early lunch to try the Impossible Burger on our vacation and was seated in a dark corner of the restaurant. As there were less than 10 other guests, we moved to a table more brightly lit by natural daylight. The hostess (a blonde lady with a resting b_ _ _ _y face) then tells us off for moving "this is not the kind of place you can do that" she said loud enough for everyone to hear and stare at us. Never in my life have I been told off for moving seats, it was an empty restaurant and no reserved signage on the tables so why can I not move? Appalled by her service, then the burger came and was an anti climax. too thin and crispy. We had the Beyond Burger (vegan) in Hong Kong which was far superior. I suggest you find that and avoid Crossroads awful pretentious service... I mean white table cloth for a place that's known for a burger... I should have known better

DO NOT EAT HERE!

By Jan L |

If I could give it negative stars I would! I ended up paying $250 for 2 meals!!! First off they charged me $75 for an appetizer plate of pasta with alfredo sauce and a couple shavings of chocolate on top! Price was not listed on menu as it was a today's special and waitress did not tell me price. Everything is medoicre. Nothing tasty or special about any of it! We had 4 small plates(these plates are tiny people!) And 2 cocktails each for a whopping price of $250 with tip. The waitress was lousy! Other servers giving you the food. This place is all hype. I attempted 3 times to contact the manager, who by the way is never in, and only got a return message from a hostess saying he would contact me. Never did! The most expensive meal of our lives!!!!! I will post negative comments wherever I can on the internet about this place!

Amazing

By kevincanada |

I have made a few dishes out of the cookbook and really wanted to eat here one day. The meal did not disappoint! Everything was fantastic! The atmosphere and service are great but the food is the best part. It was so good we went twice in 3 days.

Upscale vegan dining at its finest

By harobed1a |

Finally, a vegan restaurant that puts serving excellent food in an upscale environment above proclaiming its status as a healthy and virtuous enterprise. The service was terrific and impeccably paced for the small plates we ordered, the ambience was quiet and elegant, and the food itself first-class. Prices were also more reasonable than we found elsewhere in LA too.

Sorry, but.....

By Raffi B |

Please.....We ordered Many dishes, I only dish I found edible were the potatoes only because they were real potatoes. Fake food is not for me. Oh, the Chivas was good as well but I prefer Johnny Walker (not on the menu) Never again!

A little snooty !!

By YarramalongDeadly |

Went for a lazy lunch. Staff not overly welcoming or enthusiastic. Decor is pretty formal for a venue serving pretty simple food. Having said that, food was delicious and inexpensive.

Upscale Vegan on Melrose...

By Rocky Road |

Interesting old Hollywood style restaurant, with main dining room and side rooms. Great food, never missed the meat. Watermelon Gaspacho soup was excellent, as was the salad, which had some interesting ingredients. The Maitake mushroom on bread was great, this is a favorite mushroom of mine, supposedly very healthy for the immune system. The "sorbet" dessert should probably be called "gelato", since sorbet has no fat in it and this has coconut cream. Which is so yummy, whatever it's called. I've had upscale vegetarian at Candle79 in NYC and more recently at Geronimo in Santa Fe and they both loaded up the food with lots of fat. This is not that, more clean, I think. Overall 5 stars including the experience of funky, upscale Melrose and the Pink Wall across the street.

Amazing experience

By camy75Brescia |

I loved everything of this place. From the atmosphere to the excellent food. I would never expected to eat such a great Italian vegan food in LA. It was all very tasty and cool to look at. The 'artichoke oysters' were beyond words. I wish there was such a place in Italy.

First time at a Vegan Food Restaurant and was Excellent

By Gisy906 |

I was visiting Los Angeles and my daughter, who is vegan, suggested we go to this restaurant. The food was really good, especially their "meatball" pizza. Portions were small and it's fun to order many small plates to try different options.

First Try at a Vegan Joint

By lletcher2016 |

Skeptical, but loved most menu items. The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice. There were 6 of us, so we each sampled various items. The drinks were far too expensive, but but good nonetheless. This was a great way to try various items of a vegan menu. Tasted great.

Great food for everyone

By MEP63 |

I am not vegan although mostly vegetarian but I believe this restaurant would appeal to all. You really won't miss Ingredients here . We had a selection of small dishes and all were great. Large-ish portions.

A real paradise for vegetarians and vegans

By grazzianapet |

We enjoyed so much this restaurant. The food was amazing. Very tasteful, modern and creative. The staff was impecable and well trained. If there was a Crossroads in every city, this would be a better world. Keep the good work!!

Outstanding Vegan & Gluten Free Food

By Stewart P |

The food is creative and interesting, totally vegan and gluten free and tastes superb. The restaurant has a sophisticated New York ambience with a dark wood interior. The staff were attentive and professional except for the extremely arrogant and rude General Manager - BRIAN MOYNAN. He needs to loose his "attitude" otherwise he'll alienate guests at this wonderful restaurant.

I always want to love this place, but basically only like it

By ErPr |

For the money, I don't know if Crossroads can hold a candle to some better vegan restaurants. I like what they're trying to do, and I liked my lasagna and "cigars" with the Impossible Burger stuffed inside (though the almond yogurt was bland and pointless; I would have preferred a house-made salsa or hot sauce), but I everything else I've had there over multiple visits was just average. I'm not a fan of the plate-sharing trend and would like to be served a good, balanced, delicious meal, but I guess trends are trends. Still, you spend a lot more this way, which explains why restaurants like the trend, perhaps? I was pleased they were able to fit us in on a weekend night without a reservation, and the server was great. The food was fine, but for the money.... Anyway, I'm not sure whether you can do *better* in L.A. for an all-vegan dining establishment, since I don't live there and haven't gotten to all the restaurants, but New York vegan restaurants in this price range typically do a better job, in my experience.

Good Vegan Food

By Max G |

Crossroads Kitchen is a vegan restaurant serving good vegan food. If you're a carnivore, like me, it takes some adjusting to fake burgers and chicken, but they do a pretty good job of pulling it off. We had an Impossible Burger, kale Caesar with "chicken", and "chicken" and waffles. All were tasty and well prepared. The waitstaff is very attentive, without being pushy. Parking can be a problem, especially at dinner, so try them for lunch. I'm glad to have tried Crossroads, but doubt I will return.

Crossroads may be the best Vegan restaurant anywhere !

By Joseph U |

This is one of our favorite spots in Los Angeles. The level of Vegan cooking and presentation here is world class. If you are not a vegan, you would hardly know that this is Vegan cooking. The Bar and the food are as good as anywhere in LA or NYC. The fact that these chefs create everything from Plant Based foods in pretty amazing and proof that a Plant Based Diet can be thrilling in the right hands.!!! make a reservation because this is always full.

Overpriced fake food

By Peter F |

You have to be a Vegan to love this place. My wife and I were invited and gave it a try. The food wasn’t bad, but it left no lasting impression on me. I certainly remember the tab which was outrageous.

Must try

By Violetjvm |

I went here to grab late dinner, and easy to process it because I decided to make reservations in advance, which was nice. Bh, the host suggested since we were early and in no rush to stop by the bar and grab a drink while we waited, and the bartender was also adorable and welcoming, and for it being busy, that’s a plus. Right after it didn’t take long for us to be seated, our server gave us time to chat even though we didn’t even peek at the funny menu. But he gave us suggestions and was so our server attentive and friendly. I didn’t take pictures of everything we are but an overall great experience. If you are in the area, stop by

MUST EAT HERE

By Jbrandon1 |

Is it expensive? Yes, but not outrageous. Is it one of the best meals I’ve ever had? Without a doubt. I was in LA for 2 nights and my experience was so good that I neglected any other potential restaurants and went to Crossroads again the second night. David (with the bleached blonde hair) was an amazing server. Guided my wife and I through the menu like a champ and made sure we had an amazing experience. MUST GO TO! If you are vegan and in LA, you should be ashamed with yourself if you don’t eat here. Don’t even look at the menu, just ask your server what you should get.

Wonderful vegan Mediterranean restaurant

By Kathy0129 |

Known as one of the best vegan restaurants in Los Angeles - you need to make a reservation otherwise it’s fully booked and you won’t be able to eat it there. You can check the menu online before visiting the place which is useful since you would know what to expect. ロサンゼルスにある有名店。ビーガンレストランとしてセレブからも愛されており、なかなか予約も取りにくいが、ぜひ行って欲しい。どの料理も素晴らしい。

A Vegan Dream come true!

By Ramona Arena |

You have to, have to, have to go here even if you are not vegan to just understand the genius of the chef and how he can make vegan food taste so spectacular!!!! The staff was great and friendly. The cocktails were great too. It's always fully booked so make sure you get your table reserved well in advance! Do not miss this place!

Birthday Lunch

By Dan J |

My daughter is vegan and was here in LA from San Francisco for my birthday. She insisted we try Crossroads for lunch and try the burger. She assured me it will taste like my favorite burger. I must say she was correct and the service and atmosphere was great. Our server was friendly, so patient, and fast. Every dish that was ordered to share was unbelievably tasty, as was the presentation of the food. Great beverage menu and friendly staff. Highly recommend this location for first time vegan food.

Fine Dining Vegan Restaurant

By Apurva N |

Service, Ambiance, Food, perfect from start to finish. Our personal favorite were the Crab Cakes, and the Charred Ricotta. Great vegan restaurant. Valet service is available, but there are also parking meters nearby that are free during dinner time.

Incredible menu with amazing food

By egrehn2009 |

Amazing! Amazing food, great atmosphere, very good service. My new favorite restaurant. If you don't know you can't tell that it is all plant-based

Delicious!!

By Nicole T |

Excellent food, especially the vegan ones. The captain suggested me lunch special and it was worth trying. The service I received was amazing.

Noisy, noisy

By Eduardo P |

Food is good, very small portions, many already prepared, mostly fake food, but the noise is unbearable. We were five and only was able to speak to my son sitting next to me. This was my fifth visit and the last

Worst veggie burger ever.

By BuyOrBeWare |

Shameful. If you want to know what the new Impossible Burger 2.0 tastes like, look elsewhere. Oh, wait! You can't--not without a plane ticket. What an awful experience. Poorly prepared food. Asinine cook (Tal Ronnen) who dreams of being a "chef." I've been a vegetarian for 20 years and was SO looking forward to the famous new Impossible Burger 2.0, which is supposed to taste like a real ground meat patty--and this is the only restaurant in all of So-Cal. Alas, the staff is indifferent and overworked, the decor is fine, if a little standard-issue 2005 WeHo, and... as my friend and I order our Impossible Burgers, I ask, "what's this special sauce?" The poor, put-upon waiter tells me it's basically ketchup and mayonnaise--my two least favorite condiments. "No, problem," I say, "I'll just get it without the special sauce" "Um, no," the waiter say sheepishly, "it's served fast food style." "It's pre-made?" "No, it means the chef won't take off the sauce." Ugh. But I've waited so long and this is my only chance so I ask well, could you see if they can serve without and if not could they go very, very sparingly on it? Alas, the burger arrives drowning in the the crappiest McDonald's "special sauce" knock off you've ever tried to gag down. I tried to scrape it off but it had drenched the top bun. "No problem! I'll eat it opened faced." No luck. The bottom bun was slathered with orange goo as well. Truly rancid. My friend doesn't even mind ketchup and mayo and she hated the sauce even more than I did. Ugh, we scrape as much of the radioactive substance off the incredibly tiny patties as we can while I try not to dwell on the fact that I'm paying 16 dollars for a sliver of veat. Unlike the reviews from Momofuku in NY, Crossroads made sure their patty was dry and tasteless--overcooked all the way through, into lifeless tan slab. There was a faint hint of "real" red meat, probably due to the much vaunted "heme" but honestly, it wasn't much different from a Morningstar Farms Griller's Prime patty. If it hadn't been so poorly prepared it might have had a chance to rise above frozen supermarket quality. Did I mention the bun? Under all that awful sauce was one sorry little bun, given no love and no thought. Oh, and the fries were dry and hard as well. They were blandly seasoned to boot but I didn't bother asking for salt and pepper as I knew the idiot who runs the place would forbid any alteration of his masterpiece. The whole enterprise looked and tasted like it had been prepared by an alien being. Both tables next to us ordered the Impossible burgers and both had the exact same agonizing conversation: ordering "no special sauce" followed by the waiter telling them basically to go "f" themselves. The poor girl to my left didn't even finish her burger, small as it was. And the couple to my right just sat glumly after their first bite. Oh, also, hiding behind "we serve the burger fast food style" is nonsensical. Fast food places may be evil but they will let you have it your way. And not to restate the obvious but even if the "chef" was much more talented and special than he is, if his concept was The Classic Middle American Burger Experience, with a white bread bun, fries, etc., then not letting the customer "have it their way" completley misses the point and the appeal of a classic burger experience. Bottom line, if you have delusions of grandeur, and are too rare a bird to accommodate even the humblest customer need, 1) don't open a restaurant or 2) don't offer to be the ONLY RESTAURANT THAT OFFERS THE MOST ANTICIPATED ITEM IN THE HISTORY OF VEGANISM. Crossroads is a popular place but NO ONE ORDERING THE IMPOSSIBLE BURGER CAME HERE FOR YOU, TAL--WE CAME TO TRY THE IMPOSSIBLE BURGER, WHICH YOU HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH DEVELOPING, AND YOU BLEW IT. This wasn't your time to be mommy's precious little artist, Tal, this was your time to be host and steward. I would have loved to convert carnivores to the glories of veganism via the Impossible Burger. But thanks to the "chef's" onanism (say... maybe that's what's in the special sauce...) I'm going to have to wait a long, long time to be IB's LA evangelist. Or... or I'll have to take my friends on a long, long drive to San Francisco, and hope their restaurants don't botch the Great Experiment like Crossroads did. It's truly painful to walk out of a restaurant, having just paid (with tip) almost 60 dollars for the worst veggie burgers with fries you've ever gagged down, tap water, and small warm glass of grapefruit juice. Impossible Burger Execs: Don't let Crossroads screw up your plans. Let another LA restaurant put your 2.0 on the menu ASAP--before Crossroads kills your momentum. Okay, I'm going to eat some Veggie Grill buffalo wings to lick both my wounds and my fingers--and while I'm doing it, Tal Ronnen, I've got a great idea for where you can stick your special sauce.

Very happy vegans!

By Lornaleigh |

Had an absolutely wonderful, mid-week, mid-pandemic dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed the charred ricotta and pizza of the day as starters. The artichoke oysters were lovely and works of art. We absolutely devoured the fettucine and truflles (what a treat!) Thought the rapini was tasty but not sure if we would order again. Service was excellent and we look forward to going back!

The absolute best vegan restaurant I have ever been to

By Shanele T |

Everything was amazing. I ate here everyday while in town. The chicken and waffles and the grown up burger is amazing. But get the kale Cesar instead of french fries. And don't forget the skillet meatballs! I ordered the same 3 entrees everyday. Lunch is better than dinner. Dinner options were all pasta dishes and tasted about the same. Wish the lasagna had the impossible meat in it. That would have taken it over the top.

Incredibly delicious

By piperann3 |

This was our third or fourth dinner here, and it is always exceptional. The menu items are mostly small, or tapas, so what you want to do is order about 3 per person. There were 3 of us and we ate quite well on 9 items, sharing almost all of them pretty easily. Then we shared a dessert. The cuisine is magnificent and all vegan. I have yet to not have a celebrity in the room too, for whatever that is worth. Extensive bar, romantic ambiance, and expensive but worth it. We had a 5:00 reservation and made it to Pantages Theater in time for 7:00 curtain. (Hamilton!)

Vegan Heaven

By tammydube |

Hands down the best Vegan Cuisine in town. Make sure to try the artichoke oysters! Delicious little start to an impeccable meal. I could honestly recommend everything on the menu but my ultimate faves are going to have to be the meatball pizza and the Crossroads Benedict!

Best Brunch in LA and it happend to be Plant Based! Try it out. Vegan Must do!

By SkiMom33 |

Amazing Vegan Restaurant. We were so lucky to have found it. The brunch was outstanding. I wish we lived in LA so we could eat here more often. I had the chicken and waffles and I thought the chicken tasted better than the chicken tenders I had eaten in the past. I was impressed. My husband had the pancakes that were also divine.

High Expectations Not Met

By BritFrenchPol |

We were a party of 13 in a room set off from the main restaurant, celebrating my vegan husband's retirement. We chose one of three somewhat varied tasting menus. We started off with two salads, a kale and kale/spinach mix, both wonderful! We served ourselves and there was enough for everyone. Mediocre flat pizza, a crab cake, and lasagna made up the bulk of the dinner, with salt being the primary taste booster for each, giving them a canned, store-bought, frozen goods flavor. Broccoli was over-buttered, but just the right crispness. Dessert was coconut ice cream with a chocolate-like sauce and candied peanuts. Just ok. Wine choices were hugely overpriced per glass or bottle for mostly California wines that are, at best, trendy and average. I ordered the only Italian red, which I know is great, my husband ordered a white, received a red, and when he asked to replace the red with what he ordered, he never received it. As vegans, we've eaten in many vegan restaurants, and had heard that Crossroads wasn't like the many that over salt/fat their food for meat-eating clientele. So we suggested it when asked where we'd like to celebrate. I must note that half of the others in our group who had not eaten vegan food before loved most everything, so for non-vegans, it might be a good introduction to restaurant vegan eating. Exceptionally overpriced for completely average fare.

Great Food - Tiny Portions

By Dovman |

Yes the restaurant is elegant and the decor lovely. The food is also elegant and delicious. However the portions are minuscule. Our dinner for two was $50 a person and I left hungry. I loved our food and I am happy to have experienced the refined flavors. However I do not enjoy going out to dinner and being so poorly sated. It is unlikely I would dine again at Crossroads unless I wanted a small snack.

Amazing Vegan Fare

By Karmyn J |

Crossroads has such a broad menu that their foods appeal to vegetarians, vegans, and meat-eaters alike. There were 2 meat-eaters and 2 Vegans 🌱 in our dinner party. Everyone enjoyed the Vegan Seafood Tower, the Chik’n Cacciatore, the Impossible Burger Cigars, and the Artisan breads. And, just in the side, there were 4 different celebrity sitings, that evening, as well 👍🏽

Imaginative, delicious vegan food!

By Marlene |

Delicious food, great service and outdoor seating. I went for Saturday brunch and enjoyed the Benedict special and blackberry mimosas.

Brilliant food

By Wangary |

This must be one of the most creative, tasty and successful vegan restaurants on the planet. We have eaten in many countries around the world but in our experience this has to be one of the planet's best vegan restaurants. The food is fresh, visually well presented, and makes the taste buds sing. EVEN non vegans should really enjoy the wonderful array of taste sensations. Cant wait to go back. The only sour note was to chaotic and confused service. We sat there for 15 minutes before we were offered a menu or water. We could see staff standing near the kitchen area chatting - and seeming to ignore customers. Lets hope they have addressed their unprofessional service standards by the time we return.

The most amazing vegan restaurant on the planet

By letudo |

Since my husband is fully vegan (and I am mostly so) this restaurant has been on our Bucket List for a few years. When we knew we would be in LA for a week, visiting from NC, we looked forward to a nice dinner here. We expected it to be very good but it far exceeded our expectations - in fact, we were absolutely floored at how superb it was. We were swooning! We both ordered the Lasagna Bolognese - it was so divine that after the first bite we just stopped and looked at each other with an "OMG" expression. For desert, my husband had the cheese plate and I had the special (cannot remember the name but it was delish). But the main dish was really the star. When we left, we were both stuffed but by the time we drove back to our hotel, we decided we needed to eat here again - in fact, the next day! The next day we arrived around brunch time and ordered Tagliatelle Bolognese and a deep-dish pizza - again, sheer perfection. Now we are planning a trip to Las Vegas so we can eat at the Crossroads every day.

Excellent vegan

By rgavo1 |

Incredible food for everyone, even those that aren’t vegan. Most vegan places are a novelty, but this place does vegan food like no other. Vegan fine dining at a beautifully unanticipated level. We will definitely be returning!

Perfect fancy vegan dinner

By psymaggs |

Great vegetarian food that 'imitates' common meat/fish dishes. Hat the 'calamari' and the 'steak' - the fake-steak even came 'medium-rare'. The vegan coconut-icecream was also delicious. They also have a great selection of Californian wines (not vegan). Great outdoor patio with heaters. Everything tasted superyummo, will defo go there more often. Reservation necessary (plan ahead, they book out fast).

Divine "Seafood" Tower

By rawandhonest |

Most people had recommended Crossroads to me as THE spot for delicious vegan meals in LA and they do not disappoint. Our party of 6 enjoyed the seafood tower to share which featured all kinds of mushrooms; king oyster mushroom calamari, tempura battered lobster mushrooms, and shiitake mushrooms, all made to mimic scallops, ceviche, sushi and traditional oysters. The pasta dishes were a hit with our group too. I believe anyone (vegan or carnivore) will enjoy the flavours and artistry combined.

My 1st ever vegan experience

By 810alia |

I honestly only went there because my friend recommended it and I had no idea that it was vegan.. I'm no vegan myself.. Anyways, we made a reservation and I made it before my date and the they asked if I wanted the table right away or wait a bit.. The hospitality was great and everyone was so nice.. I loved that they treated me as a person but not a costumer.. The atmosphere was spectacular.. As soon as my date arrived, we sat on our table right away. We didn't have any problems trying to order thanks to our waiter's recommendations whom name I forgot..sorry.. Anyways, the food was excellent and drinks also.. All in all, I never thought I'd eat vegan and I loved it. I'd totally recommend it and totally would visit again if I come back to LA.. Stay alive, Crossroads! Cheers!

Jesse a great server; good, but not great, vegan food

By UptownGirl415 |

First off, the service here is great. Jesse was our server and he was very attentive, helpful, and answered all of our questions patiently about ingredients. That being said, we went here for the burger that tastes like meat, and bleeds like meat, but is really not meat (but vegetarian). It was slightly overcooked, served with a soggy bun, and rather bland and over salted. The truffle fries were great, but those are hard to screw up. The dessert was a parfait of sorts and rather sickly sweet with an overly thick consistency. Okay, but not great. For a restaurant that is centered on vegan (and fresh vegan can be hard to do), I would think the palate would be more sophisticated and the food better than average -- however, that is what you are getting here: a touch above average food.

Excellent Dinner, Amazing, Innovative Food, Good Service, Nice Ambiance

By TRAVELINGCWS |

I was reluctant to go back to Crossroads because it's vegan. The first bite reminded me how amazing the food is at Crossroads. My daughter is s vegan so when I am in town visiting she likes to frequent vegan restaurants. I typically end up leaving these restaurants still hungry - no at Crossroads. We started with the meatball pizza - excellent. SPICY MEATBALL Pizza - house made meatballs of Calabrese peppers, almond ricotta and micro basil. This tastes like a meatball pizza. Next we had an amazing salad, a KALE CAESAR (GF option) garlic focaccia croutons / house caesar dressing. I don't like male but loved this salad. We also had a Scaloppini Parmesan that was amazing. The texture and flavor, all plant based is memorable. We also had a shawarma (sp) that I believe is new to the menu and it was exceptional - crispy rice and mushrooms were part of the ingredients. As I mentioned initially, I was reluctant because I have Bern to other LA vegan or vegetarian restaurants and struggled to find a single dish that I liked. Crossroads is an exception beyond measure. The food is amazing. It will be the first restaurant that I return to when I come back to LA. Excellent everything! Why not?

Amazingly good vegan (what?!) restaurant with terrific ambiance

By navins888 |

Beautiful ambiance with the bar as the centerpiece. Vegan food is their raison d'être but you wouldn't guess if you tried the food without knowing that it was not meat-centric! The food was terrific as was the service. The cocktails are creative (e.g., a Mezcal Negroni) and well-presented. The dishes are utterly creative creations and require multiple visits to try them.

Noise level

By coerie |

The food was fine, but you can't really concentrate on it due to the deafening noise, aka music. When will American restaurants learn that customers will still come, but enjoy themselves far more when they can eat in peace? I asked the waiter to turn it down, but it didn't help. Such a relief to be back in Europe where there's often no music at all, or played softly.

A Vegan Wonderland

Visited with a couple of vegetarians and regular diet folks and we all loved every dish! Chef Tal Ronnen and his staff really put out delicious alternatives to old favourites - like the "crab cakes" which are actually hearts of palm; scallopini pasta and mushroom pizza - all Gluten Free and organic where possible. We had four guests who shared the small plates of offerings while enjoying martinis and scotch. A great atmosphere definitely worth the visit!

Healthy, delicious lunch!!

A lovely restaurant, healthy and vegetarian food and great service! We're looking forward to coming back!

Great food

By bradcaugust |

The Impossible Burger was amazing -- I had read so much about it, was amazing to finally get to taste it. It's like the most sophisticated meat equivalent out there and this place has it exclusively. The kale salad and desserts were fabulous too!

Great Food, Service Okay

By Kate79 |

We read about the Impossible Burger a long time ago and wanted to try it while in Los Angeles, hence we booked a table at Crossroads. Our party included two vegetarians and two meat-eaters. We all ordered the burger with truffle fries. Three out of four of us loved both burger and fries. One meat-eating teenager was not too excited but ate it. The cost of the meal seemed reasonable. The service was quite quick but not especially friendly.

Great vegan restaurant

By lili m |

Some of the best vegan food around. Great brunch options. Only surprise was the lack of more plant based options vs processed vegan. Valet parking only.

Vegan Food for Everyone

By EmilyJane83 |

The food is so delicious that even meat eaters will love it. They make fresh pasta with cheese made from nuts. The lasagna is sublime. The dishes with "meat" taste like meat. I have been there for lunch and dinner. You do need to order at least two items or it's not really enough food, so it's a tad pricey, but it's worth it. I bought their cookbook, and the recipes are not easy, so the labor probably adds to the cost.

Fattening, unhealthy vegan food that tastes delicious

By Fiona Beverly |

Almost every dish they serve, with the exception of salad, is deep-fried or dripping of vegan butter/cheese. If you’re calorie counting, or trying to be healthy, this is not the place to come. I will be returning to this place though, albeit irregularly, as I live nearby and the dishes are very innovative and exciting. For example, we ordered vegan ‘oysters’ that were mushrooms, presented like oysters, on an iced tray. I have to agree with other reviewer that the staff are NOT very accommodating and appear highly strung and impatient. Previous reviews (plural) mention the bad hospitality here too. Despite the negatives, I’m giving this place 4 stars because I like their food and the restaurant design. The more high-end vegan restaurants out there, like this, the better.

Regretfully 3 Stars

By pookala |

The food was wonderful. Imaginative, delicious vegetarian served in a relaxed casual yet elegant atmosphere. The corn soup, watermelon gazpacho, artichoke oysters, romano beans and pastas were all delicious. Not so elegant & the reason for the average rating? If a customer (small, average height and weight) sat in a chair and the chair broke with the customer tumbling to the floor don't you think it would be appropriate for the manager to come over and inquire about the guest's welfare? Well apparently the front of the house was too busy schmoozing with a celebrity of the month to come over and offer an apology. Compensation was received in a comped bottle of wine, but a sincere show of regard would have been much more welcome. To finish, a spilled espresso over two of the guests. Our server was sufficiently mortified by our overall experience but not a peep from Mr Man at the reception station. There are too many great restaurants in this city where you can dine on wonderful fare AND be treated in a welcoming and gracious manner. I cannot recommend with regret, because it is obvious the chef and his kitchen work very hard to produce excellent food.

A Great Experience

By Steven C |

Second visit and it did not dissapoint in the least bit. We had a private room with dinner for 16. I have never been to a Vegan restaurant with such attentive service. It was a preset menu with five courses. The waiter explained each course and each course was served family style. While portions were not overwhelming there was ample food. Everything was delicious. In particular the vegetable sides, dessert and the pizzas were exceptional. The restaurant prepared a full lasagna for the table that was indivdually served by the wait staff. When in LA we will definitely revisit again and again.

Vegan Unaware

By Kathy C |

My daughter is Vegan. I am not. Everything we ate was wonderful. If we were not told everything was plantbased we would not know. The eggplant was as good as it gets. The stuffed zucchini blossoms were a nice appetizer. The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice. The service was very good.

Crossroads an Awesome Vegan Experience

By ViLana18 |

This is truly a wonderful vegan delight! I'm so grateful to chef Tal Ronnen for allowing me as a dairy free allergy victim to enjoy some of my all time favorite dishes! Ravioli in a scrumptious sage butter sauce and crab cakes and chocolate cake and on and on OMG!!! Sooooo Good!!!!

Let down, bland food, pretentious staff...

By Corrie B |

I wanted to take my husband out for a nice vegan meal and had heard good things about this place... unfortunately it felt very pretentious, the food bland, the service off, and the meal cane in over $100 with no drinks and we didn’t feel satisfied... Major let down!

Amazing Food, Excellent Service & Ambiance

By TRAVELINGCWS |

I am not a vegan or a vegetarian and I really enjoy this restaurant. I am in Los Angeles a few times a year, Crossroads is always a part of each trip - sometimes twice during a trip. My daughter lives in Los Angeles, she’s a vegan and this is her favorite restaurant. It’s funny because for years she has made reservations at some of the other popular vegetarian or vegan restaurants and I did not enjoy any of them. I always left hungry because I found few items I enjoyed. Crossroads is the complete opposite. I recently bought their cookbook. I love this place. Tonight we started out with a couple of glasses of wine, a salad, appetizer, entree, another salad and dessert. BLOOMSDALE SPINACH SALAD -- (GF) shiitake bacon / cipollini onion rings / caper raisin vinaigrette - tasted like a bacon spinach salad. It was excellent. KALE CAESAR SALAD -- (GF option) garlic focaccia croutons / house Caesar dressing add crispy Milanese. Another excellent and tasty salad. SPICY MEATBALL PIZZA - housemade meatballs / calabrese peppers / almond ricotta / micro basil. The meatballs taste like meat - amazing. SCALLOPINI PARMESAN. It tastes and looks like chicken parmesan. Not sure how they make these meals because they look and taste like meat dishes but they are all plant based. We ended the meal with HOT TIN ROOF SUNDAE /-- (GF) vanilla ice cream / chocolate sauce / aleppo peanuts maraschino cherry / cacao nib. The ice cream is non dairy, coconut milk ice cream - sooooo Good. You will not be disappointed - always an excellent choice. We will return again and again. Ps. There are often celebrities in the restaurant if you are into that.

Best Vegan food i've ever had!

By Devan C |

By far the best vegan food i've had. Had to resist the urge to lick the plate clean. Food arrived shortly after ordering and the menu was widely varied. Only downsides are small portions and its not cheap, but I think its best to order a couple dishes and share, it's worth every penny!

Incredible Disappointment

By lkrocks |

I USED to love this place! Although i live in AZ, I visited whenever in LA. This past visit was so awful that i cannot see myself going back. All the things i loved before were deeply disappointing. The food was so wimpy (smaller portions, anemic ingredients) and tasteless, the service super bad (we sat with dirty plates in front of us for over 30 minutes) that i could not believe this was the same place! I emailed them the next day to inquire if there was a change in management, a bad-day scenario or some other explanation for such a drastic change. I never heard back. Such a disappointment…maybe they can revive it but it will be up to someone else to review.

A little disappointing. (Lunch)

By cocolalalala |

We went to Crossroads specifically to try the impossible burger (which was good) everything else was mediocre. We had to send one burger back because it was over cooked and hard. We ordered a spinach salad to start which was very small and made with large leaves of old spinach (as in not baby spinach) with the stems still attached. The pecans were a little more than slightly burnt and the dressing watery. The Chicken Milanese was dry - could have used more veggies and/or sauce - and the bread was too thick for its contents. Everything could have been great with a little more love and attention to detail. Our friends we were with had been there for dinner and said that the dinner food was much better than lunch. We were a little disappointed because we are vegetarian and like supporting restaurants that don't serve meat. I would not go for lunch again. Maybe we'll give dinner a chance.

A big wow

By George M |

It was a treat night and I was thrilled with the choice and the choices. super appetizers, 3 different pastas, very good wine list, tasty desserts. A lovely veggie pate, there incomparable cigars (Impossible meat wrapped), etc. Truly the best Vegetarian restaurant I have been in!!!!!

Excellent Creative Vegan Food

By WellTraveled3 |

For those looking for creative tasty vegan food in a nice low key setting, Crossroads is worth a visit. We enjoyed our dinner and were particularly impressed with the Scallopini Parmesan and the Tagliatelle Bolognese. The pickled and preserved vegetables and the Impossible Cigars were great starters. Service was extremely helpful, informative and friendly.

Exquisite Vegan Food and Ambience

Chef Tal Ronen offers a five star experience where there is zero compromise for the benefit of vegan. The food is delicious and looks beautiful. The atmosphere is elegant yet relaxing. A great vibe and excellent service.

Good vegan food, interesting people watching

By yusqueya |

We ate here because it was one of the LA vegan restaurants on my bucket list. It was good, and I'm glad we went, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back. Service was good but not what I'd call friendly. Typical of trendy LA, from what I've experienced. Food was delicious but quantities were small - but the prices weren't ridiculous. Very, very trendy crowd. We were there for brunch on a Saturday and the people watching was quite something. We found the valet parking convenient, rather than trying to find a parking spot on Melrose.

Blown away

The food is absolutely exceptional, we went to try something different and was possibly the best food I’ve eaten in a very long time. Open in London

VEGAN GLAMMA

Really loved my "IMPOSSIBLE BURGER" at this restaurant - wonderful and the ambience in this restaurant is lovely and a bit understatedly glamorous! If you are a vegan or vegetarian - you must stop by here!!!!

upscale vegan tapas

By Jordi Q |

our "to go" place to for any celebration. Vegan food taken to the extreme in terms of quality and presentation. The atmosphere is upscale and very well integrated into the Melrose Avenue scene! Try the vegan cheese platter to never miss cheese again, and other favorites are the oysters and the fabulous burger!

THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER

By 420marynas |

Crossroads kitchen “The worst experience ever” So briefly... Crossroads kitchen is pretty famous vegan restaurant for several reasons. First, it looks like a place where you can dress up and to go on a date. As you know a lot of vegan places are pretty casual. Second, the Chef Tal Ronnen appeared in several famous shows with Oprah Winfrey and Ellen. Not because he is the best vegan chef ever, but because of influence of powerful investor of this business. Third, because this vegan food is really delicious. But unfortunately not really healthy comparing other good vegan places. I’ll explain why. The chef uses kind of French style of cooking which means “More butter is better”. In this case the chef uses a lot of oils and vegan butter. It becomes cancerogenic if you roast with it. Basically you feel over buttery flavor in almost every dish. It’s not organic as well etc. But! If all you care is satisfaction from taste of your dish, you’ll be pleased. Another thing is service. First of all hostesses are NOT the type you want to see (for guys) in front desk. I usually see average looking tired and not really neat and stylish women. I never really had issues with them, but unfortunately my sister and her husband did last time. They picked this place for their first marriage anniversary and the stuff just ruined it for them. They made reservation Friday morning for Tuesday night (not the busiest night ever). Definitely her husband mentioned that they want a good table for romantic experience. He called two more times after to make sure they will have a nice table. So guess what... they didn’t get it when they arrived. After complain they were removed to a separate table, but close to servers or kitchen exit. Very romantic right? The place wasn’t packed so they just set on a different table, a little farther from this annoying exit. This is where the circus started. The hostess Emma didn’t want to hear that they have an anniversary. She said “We have a lot of important people here and they also have their celebrations”. Girl, you don’t tell a couple on their anniversary that they are not important in this restaurant. So basically after several disrespectful phrases my sister and her husband decided to leave and eat in actually better place. The problem of this restaurant is very bad culture of workers. My brother in law called to general manager Brian Moynan to explain what happened and guess what? He never called back. They just don’t care. I don’t recommend this place for spacial occasion! You will not meet your expectations.

The place for impossible meat

Lovely place with great ambiente. We had there our first “meat balls” from impossible meat. Delicious!

Unique Vegan

By joja64 |

If you are wanting to try the burgers Ellen talks about don’t go on the weekends. They only serve them during the week. We ordered the Pasta Bolognese and the chicken and waffles. Both were very good. Portion size was ok. Service was accommodating and friendly. All around good place.

family dinner

By Isaac S |

Great atmosphere, we were able to get a room in the back for the 9 of us, much less noise. Excellent food, the only problem is that we got rushed to from the beginning, very short of calling the manager, but then you worry about all those horror stories about the waiters and the food. Yes, high end.

If there was a cloud ten...

By Rhoda D |

Had a celebratory dinner here, 12 guests and no one could stop talking about thei favorite dishes afterwards although every single person was stunned by the creamy delicious ice cream. I don't know what it is made from, the cocktails were too good (I had a Saranac that was like the best Manhattan I've ever tasted) to remember what the server said, but it had some sort of maybe dried cherries and nuts on top with a chocolate sauce and, as an ice cream "expert" I'd still say it was the best I've ever tasted. Everyone said the same. the split pea soup with tiny slivers of carrot was outstanding, the oyster mushrooms were too, the tempeh something was, and so it went. Most delicious, satisfying meal of the year despite a lot of good to excellent meals under my expanding belt.

Awesome - so delicious

By KlausPG |

We had dinner at Crossroads based on a friends recommendation. And our high expectation were still being surpassed. We truly had the best vegan dinner ever. Every course was a true sensational experience. And on top of that the place had a nice buzz and superb service. A truly historic dinner. Highly recommended.

Delicious selection purely vegan cuisine

By Laurie_Sydney |

Yummy, imaginative cuisine for vegans. Thoroughly enjoyed by non-vegans too. Visited several times. Always packed. Must book. Parking good.

Great vegan restaurant, appealing to non-vegans too!

By Jeremiah Christopher |

A vegan restaurant, equally appealing to the non-vegan crowd. Delicious dishes, that even I could not tell were vegan. Really great food! Service is good, not great. The restaurant design is pretty great, the ambiance is nice. I'll be back for the fried chicken and waffles alone!

It’s a plant based wonderland!

By Jennifer H |

Why oh why are there not Crossroad Kitchens all over the US?! Ate there last night with my family and couldn’t believe how amazing the food is. Everything was delicious. If we lived locally, I would go once a week. The squash pasta was unbelievably good. I might dock a 1/2 a point for service - although very attentive, our server seemed annoyed to be there. But no, the food was too good!

Amazing !

By Mark |

The food is incredible ! Great invention from the chef! Really good variety in the menu and loved the food. Great atmosphere and the decor is fantastic. Only negative thing I would mention is it’s quite loud but it’s a brillant dinner high recommend it !

Great food and ambiance

By Johanne |

Unlike a lot of other plant based restaurants, this place has a very nice, almost fine-dining ambiance. We went here for dinner, and tried several dishes which were overall very good. Our favorite was the pizza with truffles and mushroom: 10/10. Unlike the rest of the US they have somewhat regular portion sizes, so the "bang-for-your-buck" is a bit lower than at other restaurants. However, you can order several dishes without getting completely ruined as the prices are decent. Nevertheless, they still need to upgrade their service a bit to be a complete "fine-dining experience". The time-limit for the reservation (and very busy personell) made us feel a bit rushed, and we got the sense that the personell did not have the time to attend the customers properly.

BEST VEGAN RESTAURANT!

By Einat M |

The food is AMAZING! Every dish is more genius than the previous one. The service is a full 10! Vegans or not, the every bite is an experience.

This Carnivore fell in love with the Butternut Squash Pizza

By Michael W |

Wanted to take my vegetarian wife to a nice place for dinner during our California vacation. . After looking on several sites I decided to come here....and enjoyed every single thing we ordered- The Artichoke "Oysters", The Roasted Brussel Sprouts, The Baby Beet Salad, Tagliatelle Bolognese and for me The highlight of the meal was the Butternut Squash Pizza.....It had a little of everything....caramelized onions, spicy toasted pumpkin seeds, almond ricotta butternut squash puree, crispy brussel sprout leaves and mustard greens all blended in harmony!!! Ordered the Sweet Potato Cake for dessert....but honestly I wish I had another pizza for dessert that night!!!! Without a doubt this carnivore's best vegan meal on this trip!!!!

Top notch vegan fare

By Craig Calhoun |

A nice friendly restaurant with some tendencies to be a scene in the bar area. A table in the back room is quieter. But everywhere the food is excellent and service attentive. The vegan pizzas are a specialty and the “meatballs” were outstanding, but there are lots of choices. So too on the good winelist and from the bar. Time was a vegan spot meant hippies; this is for well-heeled folks of the next generation (or the one after that). And it’s a nice place. Crossroads is often crowded - consider making a reservation.

Very good

By Sequinstar |

Had a gorgeous meal wanted to dine here 4 years ago when we last came to LA but didn’t have time food was amazing and gorgeous cocktails. Would definitely recommend will be trying there Vegas location in march.

Absolutely Fantastic Vegan Restaurant

By SinghUK |

This is a great place and the kids absolutely loved it. The Impossible Burger was great. Yes it is busy but you also bump into many stars. We saw Amy (Sheldon's wife) from the Big Bang Theory!!!! If you are a vegetarian/vegan you will absolutely love this place. Lunch is definitely worth doing. Brunch at the weekend was not too bad and the pizza for dinner was devoured by the kids! I agree service could be improved upon. Our waiter for lunch was great and attentive for brunch and dinner she was not as great. Did not check-in to see if we were ok and if we needed anything else. If they could improve on this it would be a great place to go, especially since they expect to receive a tip.

LOVE their food

By Dawn D |

Definitely one of the best vegan restaurants I have been too in terns of flavor. The portions are small and the service is OK but I will go again because its so delicious. I have had almost everything on the menu and have not yet been disappointed.

Great Vegan Brunch

By Karolina N |

I finally made it to one of the most popular vegan spots in LA! We came here for a Saturday brunch while out running errands. I expected there to be a wait so I made a reservation on Yelp ahead of time but it wasn't even needed - plenty of people were seated inside but plenty of tables were still empty as well. We ordered the Benedict with potatoes on the side and the burrito. We also got the French toast to go. The Benedict was my favorite dish of the ones we tried - flavorful, beautifully played, and a good portion of food. My SO had the burrito which was certainly good, though we've had tastier (and larger) breakfast burritos elsewhere. The French toast - tasty! I love the almond mascarpone inside. I also had a soy latte with my meal - nothing spectacular, wouldn't bother ordering it again. The service was good - nothing out of this world, just friendly people. No wifi for customers. Metered street parking is available all around. All in all, I'd certainly recommend coming here for brunch!

Fantastic food

By Tom P |

ust take out and delivery right now, obviously, but I had an amazing experience at Crossroads yesterday. While I've used the wonderful cookbook, I'd never tried the restaurant. I ordered for a pick up. The man and woman at the desk (I didn't get their names, duh) were the nicest and most helpful people imaginable. And then the food! The meatloaf is To. Die. For. I mean, crazy good. And I have no idea how they make the vegan burrata for the antipasto appetizer but Wow. Killer. Everything was terrific (loved the chickpea marsala, also.) This is seriously good food and, as a carnivore, I will say any meat eater will be satisfied and contemplate switching over!

Home away from home

By DeniseRS |

Great plant base food, amazing service. I have visited this place again and again over the past 5 years and the service level remains the same. The chef is so creative, dishes are so flavorful and waiters are always so attentive. This place deserves 6 stars.

We felt deceived

By gyneriley |

We booked this restaurant bc it was highly recommended and near The Charlie where we were staying. It’s advertised as American with vegetarian and vegan options. It is entirely vegan, and we told our waiter that we were not aware it was vegan, he became abrupt and unfriendly. He disappeared and a lovely young lady served us. However, no one offered us advice about choices. My spinach salad was heavily laden with kale, which I dislike. The risotto was bland, and the “ice cream” sundae was awful. We would not recommend this restaurant unless one is vegan and likes bland foods.

Vegan Paradise

By lgoldman |

Fun, edgy, attitude, great food. A little on the pricey side and definitely need reservations for dinner. We have been there for lunch and dinner in the last couple of months and with our group of 4 or 5 we have tried everything. The watermelon gazpacho is amazing along with the burger and pizza offerings. Good people watching and shopping in the neighborhood if you are in to that.

Great menu for Vegans

By CoulsonClan |

**Crossroads Vegan Restaurant Review** Crossroads offers an exceptional dining experience that showcases how diverse and delicious plant-based cuisine can be. The menu features an impressive array of dishes, including items typically unavailable to vegans, such as their incredible vegan cannoli. However, despite the fantastic food, the dining experience felt a bit rushed. The staff seemed eager to turn tables quickly, which detracted from the overall atmosphere. While it’s understandable that a popular spot like this needs to manage its crowd, it would have been nice to savor the meal a little longer without feeling the pressure to leave. All in all, Crossroads is a must-visit for anyone looking to explore elevated vegan cuisine, but it’s worth noting the slightly hurried service.

What a great restaurant should be, but rarely is…

By scottacat |

Delicious, creative food which deserves a Michelin star or two. A serious, professional yet casual and comfortable restaurant that serves a completely vegan food and drinks menu that would please anyone. Great, knowledgeable and friendly service, too. My only regret is that it’s 300 miles from home.

Very Bad Experience

By LoveGoodFood2323 |

Very bad experience. Also, read through the reviews, you will notice a trend; super rude service, but good food. Why is this tolerated by management? We booked in advance as two parties because we did not want a set menu (if you have 8 people you must have a set menu) and we didn’t mind sitting at 2 tables. Some people had been there before so they requested the booths at the front for us. It was noted in the reservations. We went at 545 on a Wednesday so we didn’t think this would be hard. We walked in after a special day (people flew in from NYC and drove up from Newport Beach) of wedding dress shopping and the restaurant was empty. When seating us, they refused to sit us in the same room because we “should have had a set menu at our size party”. I get that, but we were at two separate tables, we figured since the restaurant was open, why not seat us next to each other? They literally refused and were SO RUDE and petty and forced us to sit in separate rooms, punishing us like 5 year olds. Also they said they had no note saying we requested the booths, no apology. Seriously??? You’re in hospitality, that is crazy to me. If the restaurant was full I’d understand, but these people need to get over their weird power trips. The server wasn’t much better. So pretentious when we asked for mushrooms to be added to a pasta. Scoffed at us and said “we can’t do that; we do not do that” a few times. Again, I get that restaurants sometimes don’t do substitutions or additions; there is a polite way to say that. The nail in the coffin was they doubled 3 items we ordered so our bill was way higher than it should have been. We almost didn’t notice, but one person thought it seemed high. If you’d seen the menu prices you know adding three more is significant. Again, no apologies. I would love to go back because the food was really good, but honestly can’t see myself supporting a place where people act this way.

Great restaurant - bought the t-shirt

By Benjamin O |

Really enjoyed my visit to Crossroads Kitchen. I ordered the Impossible Burger, as I'd been intrigued by it for a while, and it did not disappoint! The truffle fries were delicious. Gluten free sandwich options for my partner, and some delicious sides. Great atmosphere and elegant decor in this place. The rock vibe lived up to my expectations and the music was on point! Service was super friendly, and I loved their t-shirts so was glad to be able to buy one. As a non veggie, I would definitely recommend :)

EXCELLENT FOOD, BUT THE PEOPLE SKILLS ARE SOMEWHAT LACKING

By FrancisSed |

In the words of Eric Clapton, not to mention many other rock luminaries who have sang this song: “I went down to the Crossroads, fell down on my knees...” Did I fall down on my knees when I went to this restaurant? Well, only when the check arrived! Just kidding (or am I? Read on)! Whilst checking out things to do in LA, my wife had come across a video online about the Crossroads restaurant, and decided she wanted to go there. Add in two of our relatives who were visiting from Scotland, and another two who lived in the USA, and we would thus be able to form a party of six for the event. This little jaunt entailed a two-and-a-half-hour drive, braving the horrible traffic of LA when we got there. Parking outside the restaurant was impossible, but, fortunately, the place had valet parking for a cost of $8. According to the chattering classes online, this is a place both to see, and to be seen in, although you might be disappointed if your sole reason for going there is to scope out celebs. They probably sit in one of the side rooms, which lead off from the main room where the likes of us mere mortals are seated. Then again, all of us are created equal when it comes to talking a pee (unless the celebs have their own facilities), so perhaps if you hung around outside the bathrooms long enough, who knows who you might see? I wouldn't recommend it, however! The welcome by the person at the front desk was muted. We noticed a man in a suit standing nearby; possibly the maître d', but he gave no indication that he was even aware of our existence at all. He was neither a meeter, nor a greeter, that much was evident. Oh, no! Nothing so plebeian! This particular patron of Jos A. Bank was evidently a far more exotic creature. He had the look of an old pro, so he'd done his job as he was supposed to do when new arrivals walked through the door. As customers we might think they've not got us pegged, but, from the instant we enter a restaurant, we've been assessed, and, based on that assessment, we will be seated (and treated) accordingly. We all know how that goes. Then again, there are ways of doing this that serve to soften the blow. As the maître d' of a famous London restaurant once remarked: “A good maître d' should always have a smile on his face, and murder in his heart.” So, in terms of the first encounter with the restaurant staff, I have to give very much less than full marks. The ambiance of the room was just about perfect, apart, perhaps, from the lighting, which was a bit on the gloomy side. The furnishings were elegant, although understated, and it's all too easy to forget the chaos of the constant LA traffic outside once you're seated and snuggled into one of the wonderfully comfortable booths. The piped music was at a sufficiently low level to allow conversation to take place unhindered. The waiters, let's call them “The Greys,” after the color of their uniforms, were attentive, but not overbearing. Their clothing seemed to make them blend in with the general gloom of the room when at a distance, and it was only as they drew closer that you were able to realize that an actual person was approaching your table. Our waitress was extremely pleasant and kind, and also obviously well-versed in the contents of the menu. As was no doubt part of her job, she gave us a run-down of the specials, including one dish that added a hefty extra $30 to the average price of an entrée because of the presence of truffles. We found it very easy to talk to our waitress, and we felt she established a rapport with us almost immediately. Yes, it was true that she didn't appear to own a hairbrush, bless her, but that is surely a minor gripe (and I am certain that some of the more well-healed Hollywood matrons would gladly shell out big bucks for that tousled look). From what we were told, the dining experience here was about ordering a selection of small plates, and sharing them around, rather than just going for an entrée and nothing else. We decided to mix it up, and order a selection of small plates, and an entrée for each of us. We also made choices from the drinks menu, which included both alcoholic, and non-alcoholic beverages. In terms of the drinks on offer, there is something for everybody here, including some truly creative “mocktails” that you probably won't find anywhere else. We settled back to await the arrival of the drinks and first courses. We had got there early, and the place began to fill up as we waited. Any celebs? Well, no, not really, although there were quite a few wannabees strutting their stuff, so they provided a little entertainment as we relaxed and chatted among ourselves. The well-dressed maître d' cruised around the room from time to time. It was hard to know what he did, as he had no interactions with diners, save for one occasion that I noticed: he did make a point of spending time chatting briefly to one similarly well-dressed dinner guest, but that was all I saw him do (I'm guessing the guy he talked to was a regular). Apart from that, he steered clear of the other tables, and, as time wore on, we saw less and less of him in the front of house, until his presence became noticeable by its total absence. Perhaps the A-Listers had arrived in the side rooms, and his time was taken up with them. That made good business sense, I suppose, as it would no doubt pay to encourage the glitterati to feel at home (and, thereby, hopefully return for repeat business). Now, as I said, the waiting staff, “The Greys,” were extremely attentive and pleasant, but the actual serving staff, the black-clad ones who brought the food to the tables, seemed to be less so. We were served by a short, stocky, bald chap, who intoned the name of the dish in a rather abrupt manner as he put it down, and then turned on his heel and was gone. No time for idle chitchat here, obviously! We chose the Baby Beet Citrus Salad, Spicy Meatball Pizza, Oven Roasted Truffle Potatoes, and the “Crab Cakes” (the last item is as described in the menu, with the inverted commas in place). Disregard some of the words in the names of these dishes, as there was not a scrap of animal protein to be found anywhere. Indeed, this feast was not only totally vegetarian, but also vegan, if I'm not mistaken. If you want dead animal of any kind, then this isn't the place for you, but I am sure there are carnivore restaurants galore in the nearby vicinity, so you won't be disappointed if you go elsewhere in search of meat. Let's get back to the food, as that's why we were there. All of the dishes we had chosen were simply amazing. The flavors were there a-plenty, and the stand-outs for me were the baby beets, and the truffle potatoes. With regard to the latter, who knew the humble spud could rise to such lofty culinary heights? I don't want to give too much away with regard to actual tasting notes (I don't want to spoil the taste surprise totally for you!), but let me say this: on the strength of what we had, I think you could confidently choose anything from the menu and not be in any way disappointed. On to the main courses, then. Two of us went for the Risotto Del Giorno, two others went for the Fettuccine Carbonara, and the other two in the party chose Tagliatelle Bolognese, and the Lasagne. Consider us to be more than satisfied when the dishes came, although once again the short, stocky server was at his monosyllabic best. “Fettuccine!” he breathed in guttural tones as the plate landed firmly on the table. But wait, on this occasion he had more to say. He went on to explain that what appeared to be an egg yoke on the pasta was not an egg yoke at all, and that its purpose was to be broken up and stirred into the dish. Given his reluctance to speak more than a few words up until now, this small discourse seemed in comparison to be like a whole lecture on the subject of vegan haute cuisine. We knew about the egg yoke thing already, having previously seen the video about the restaurant my wife had shown us (you can watch it too, if you want to, and I am sure it wouldn't be that hard to find online). The faux egg yoke was a clever touch, but, to borrow a word oft-used by British chef Rick Stein, it was also a rather “cheffie” contrivance, and perhaps it was just a little too clever for its own good. In truth, the taste was somewhat bitter, and not like a real egg yoke at all. Yes, the appearance and texture would fool most people, but the taste definitely wouldn't. Our overall verdict on the main courses? Yes, wonderful flavors, excellent presentation, just enough of a portion to justify the prices (which, let's face it, for a restaurant of this quality could hardly be said to be exorbitant), and, like a good movie, you were left wanting more. My risotto was simply superb, with a luscious, creamy texture, and a symphony of flavors that just wouldn't quit. Despite the best efforts of our waitress, we'd held back on the number of small dishes we ordered, just so we'd have some space left for desert. The desert menu wasn't extensive here, but everything was prepared in-house, with not a trace of dairy products to be seen. Between us we went for the Hot Tin Roof Sundae, and the Chocolate Cake (there were multiple orders of the same items, as you can tell, since there were six of us). The sundae won the prize for best dish, since it was more or less as you expected it to be, both in terms of appearance, and flavors, but the chocolate cake really tried too hard to mimic its dairy-laden counterpart, and it simply could not compare. Whilst the sponge cake was super-good, the “ice cream” (soy based, probably) and the cake frosting (soy based, again?) both tasted wrong, and were off the mark far enough to remind you with every mouthful that you weren't eating a real-life, dairy-filled, artery-clogging chocolate cake. Although we wanted to say goodbye to our grey lady waitress, she'd gone on a break midway through our meal, and had handed us off to another, equally competent colleague. We paid the bill, and made our way out into the barely breathable atmosphere of LA. Did I fall down on my knees when the check came? Not really. The bill was about what I had expected, and I have paid more in upscale restaurants for just two of us. More than that I will not say, as I think it's a bit vulgar to talk about the cost. If you've enjoyed your food, which we did, then the price is really incidental. I noted there were not really any pleasant thank yous or goodbyes said from those on the front desk as we left. It seemed almost as if the staff simply wanted to get on with things, and have the next party seated. Both the welcome, and the goodbye, element of this place were more than a little off, and hardly encouraged a person to have any real desire to return. This wasn't just my opinion. I am a Brit by birth (born in London, England), and two of our other guests were relatives who had come over from Scotland, so the feel of this place, in terms of its friendliness, or the lack thereof, was our first impression of it as overseas visitors. So, okay, it's not like the world was going to end, or anything, but, nevertheless, you feel it wouldn't have killed them to have been just a little bit nicer. After all, a customer is a customer, and sometimes they're hard to come by, and even harder to keep. Be a little more pleasant, and a little less distant, and you might just turn that one-off visitor into a regular patron. Then again, all impressions would indicate that whilst the owners of this place might have some worries (and, let's face it, who doesn't?), the amount of people walking through the door certainly wouldn't be one of them, so perhaps it matters little if some of us go there just once, and never return. Given that, why should the owners care what somebody like me thinks about the attitude of some of the staff? I've been to more than my fair share of restaurants, and so I am quite accustomed to a certain level of snottiness in some of the more aspirational of those establishments – the ones that have either reached, or are seeking to reach their place in the pantheon of culinary greatness. Besides which, I'm a Brit; we invented snottiness. It's our enduring gift to the rest of the world. Nobody does it like we do. Americans might try to do it, but it never really works out like they intend. Don't get me wrong, I know how the restaurant game is played. I don't really have a problem with that. Back in the day, I was a more than willing participant in all of those front of house games. Time was I used to love going to those particularly snotty restaurants in London, in places like Kensington, and Chelsea, where they insisted on a dress code, and the waiters treated you with barely concealed contempt. That was when I was a younger man, however, and now I simply can't be bothered with it. You can either treat me well, or, if you can't do that, then I might just go down the street to someplace else and spend my money there. My overall verdict on this restaurant? Well, being a Brit by birth, and an Englishman at that, I will quote my countryman, Dr Samuel Johnson, when he was asked about the Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland. Boswell to Dr Johnson: "Is not the Giant's Causeway worth seeing?" Dr Johnson:. "Worth seeing, yes; but not worth going to see." I feel the same way about this establishment. Was it worth eating there? Yes. Was it worth the two-and-a-half-hour drive to get there to eat? No.

New Rest

By dsh91367 |

Went there last night for the first time with some friends. I'm not a vegan but the food was amazing. We ordered the Spicy Meatball Pizza, Crab Cakes, Artichoke Oysters, Watermelon Salad, Parmesan Cauliflower, Truffle Potatos & Fettuccine & Truffles. Like I said everything was amazing and the 4 of us shared. My only complaint is that the portions are too small for the price & it was a little to dark to read the menu. But I would diffently go back. Unfortunately I did not take any pictures of the food.

Mixed feelings

By Talli86 |

We booked a table for 8.30pm and were advised we would be charged $10 cancellation fee per head if we didn’t show up. On arrival we had to wait over 40 minutes for our table, we asked if they could give us our first alcoholic drink on the house for making us wait and we were told a flat out no. Finally sit down to be greeted by a friendly but very over the top waiter who was quite abrupt and pushy. He advised we should be ordering 3 plates per person, near in mind each dish is upwards of $15... We decided to order a main dish each and a couple of share plates. We were given pickled veg and olives on the house to apologise for the wait. The main dishes were fantastic albeit tiny. The carbonara, fettuccini Alfredo and meatball pizza were delicious but I could have eaten two as the plates were so small. We had the Parmesan cauliflower and artichoke oysters to share and they tasted very nice but again I couldn’t believe how small the servings were. The restaurant was noisy and the staff were so quick to remove the dishes as soon as we had finished. They even took away a dish before it had been cleared. The entire time we felt like we were being rushed through dinner. They also kept asking us if we wanted more drinks even though we had already said no. There was also this strange guy, possibly the manager just walking around and stopping at every table waiting to converse with us, however he didn’t ask us how our meal was so we didn’t engage with him. We found the entire experience quite annoying. The waiter advised he would be giving us some free deserts as well as to make up for keeping us waiting, this was a nice gesture however what would have been nicer is if he had allowed us to choose the desserts we wanted. We were sent out a tiramisu and the brownie ice cream sundae, which literally had two pieces of brownie in the whole sundae, with the rest being made up of mediocre ice cream. If I had paid for that desert I would have been very annoyed. I did however enjoy the tiramisu. The total bill came to $320 with tip, this is my eyes is an extortionate amount to pay. People who have left reviews saying this is the best vegan food they’ve tried clearly haven’t travelled much for vegan cuisine as I have better food and service for much cheaper. If you have money to burn, want to enjoy well made food and don’t mind bad service then by all means try this place.

An unfortunate experience

By Javier G |

This restaurant is well know for the vegan creative cuisine and it has been one of my favorite places, I love the oysters, crab cakes, asparagus, truffle potatoes and 3 of their pasta. But this time our waitress l, Michaela, was the less professional in the world. She opened the bottle of champagne wrong so she got wet, and me too! She never apologized or tried to help me out. Instead she left and when she came back after 15 minutes she treated us in a really rude and mean way. She create a tense atmosphere and ruined our birthday celebration. I’ll never go back again!!!

Wonderful Vegan Food

Our daughter loves Crossroads and took us there for lunch. Wonderful healthy vegan food. Service was excellent.

Take your ear plugs next time you visit

By Ros57 |

This was such a noisy restaurant. Everyone was shouting to make themselves heard and the noise bounced off the tiled walls. We couldn't wait to leave! The food was ok - although we couldn't finish one of the dishes as it just tasted of pepper and water. Disappointing and poor value.

interesting vegan creations yet a bit pricey and nto as tasty

interesting options i would not think to make at home, yet the flavors were not as great as the ingenuity. service was a bit too much attention and for the money there are better options.

Quick dinner before flight home

By Linda C |

We turned up (5 of us) with large bags and these were stored for us without any issues. We let them know we only had 1 1/2hrs and they had someone over to serve us right away. Food came out amazingly fast and drinks too. The food was outstanding, drinks tasty and the desert was incredible. I was the only vegan among us and all 5 us thoroughly enjoyed it. The restaurant has a great feel about it and the bar is awesome. Will be back if I’m ever in LA again

Incredible vegan food, even if for meat eaters like us

By Traveling_Melissa |

This place was recommended to us by two friends and had great reviews, so we decided to try it out on our last day in LA. We were not disappointed. The two of us split a cup of Fava Bean soup an Impossible Burger, the Chicken Milanese sandwich, and the cucumber mint sorbet for dessert. Sounds like a lot - and it was - but not too terribly much as the portions are relatively small and I didn't eat any of the bread from the burger or sandwich. We had read about the Impossible Burger and even though we're both meat eaters, were eager to try it. This new vegan burger is my new favorite alternative to real meat. It looked and tasted just like the real deal. Our only gripe was that the patty was too thin. (We found out after-the-fact that the chef, who is also a co-founder of Impossible Foods, wanted his burger to mimic one from In & Out, which explains why it was so thin.) It was so good, we ordered another just to eat the patty. (Don't judge; we hadn't eaten breakfast and had no real plans for dinner.) The truffle fries it came with were wonderful, though we were more interested in eating the "meat" items. The Chicken Milanese Sandwich didn't come with anything, but the sandwich was huge. I rarely eat bread, so I just ate the "chicken" and the pickles. It was delicious and if I hadn't known before ordering it was vegan chicken, I would've thought it was real chicken. The Fava Bean soup was good, though it could have been a bit spicier, and the cucumber mint sorbet was....interesting. It actually had more of a coconut flavor than anything. We left stuffed and satisfied. Mark (?) and "Handsome Grant" was great and the food runners and bussers also did a very good job. We look forward to going to this place again on our next trip.

Fantastic vegan restaurant

By Newtraveler83 |

Great restaurant, with great options. There is something for everyone and even my husband, who is a staunch meat and potatoes guy, liked it. He didn’t know it was all vegan until the waiter made sure we knew. We had the caprese, lasagna, and rigatoni. Delicious! We had reservations and got right in but it did look like they had lots of available seats while we were there.

This place lives up to its popularity

By 8graziella8 |

This place makes the list of the top most romantic restaurants in LA and I get it, the ambiance is very nice for dinner especially they have all these lights and the lighting is “tamise” like we say in French. I don’t find it overpriced for what it is even though the portions are pretty small (like the fettuccini carbonara could be bigger) because it’s remarkably good and it’s a nice sit down restaurant. It’ll change your mind about Vegan food even if you already love it but would like to see something different than Avocado, Tempeh and Portobello burgers sometimes. You’ll find comforting “impossible” burger, creamy pasta dishes and Vegan Benedict. Didn’t get to try the desserts though I recommend you to go and try!

AMAZING VEGAN RESTAURANT!!!

By Richard K |

I was invited to meet some friends here for lunch yesterday. What an AMAZING VEGAN RESTAURANT!!! We started with the Zucchini Blossoms appetizer, which were incredible. The server told me go with either the Impossible Burgers or the Chicken and Waffles. One person in our group did the Impossible Burger, another the Crossroads Bowl, and the other Autumn Bowl. All were excellent!! I am going to make the trip back for sure!!

First visit and last

Arrived for dinner, had a table for 4, found the atmosphere very pretentious, small portions, expensive, overall we all felt uncomfortable here and were happy to leave and not re-visit again.

Great Place for Elegant Vegan Food

By Eilish C |

The food is amazing, they make vegan food in the most elegant way while keeping it accessible. This is the perfect place for a date night or when you want to treat yourself to an amazing meal. I have dreamed about some of the dishes I have had here. Lunch and Dinner menus differ so be sure to look into that before you decide when you want to go.

Great family meal

By Jane G |

Amazing how every veggie thing here tastes like like its name. The calamari are as delicious as those made from the real thing, and the dishes made with impossible beef are also fabulous. The service is outstanding. This is a must in LA!

Great Vegan Food

By wanda a |

We recently went Vegan and my husband read great reviews about this place. We had brunch which was fantastic, chicken and waffles, meatball sub and other two dishes were wonderful. Did not try it but "eggs" benedict was quite popular and looked delicious. Only downside was the long wait...atleast 3 parties arrived AFTER us and got 2 to 3 dishes while we had gotten only one. As we were going to ask what happened to our food...it arrived. CHEF IS GREAT

Outstanding Vegan Food

By Britinus |

Took my family to try this vegan restaurant. Very old-style elegant inside and the food was unbelievably good. Must try the scallopini Parmesan.....so good!! It was best vegan restaurant on our LA visit.

Horrible experience

By Ayeletb |

This place is stuck in the last century.. In the midst of a deep conversation, the waiter comes by and tells us to leave. We had over stayed our allotted time. I was in shock. We were merely commodities feeding their bottom line. Sure, I realize the restaurant business is tough. But it also pays to not be rude to your customers. Two minutes later, another waiter comes by and says, "girls, it is time for you to leave." Wow. I could not believe how condescending and rude they were. They had no idea we were having an important business meeting, Please do not give your business to a place that has so much disrespect for their patrons. Trends come and go. Relationships matter.

It's hard to find good vegan restaurants.

By documama4 |

Crossroads has very good food, especially the artichoke cakes. The appetizers are my favorite but all four of us had main dishes we enjoyed

Nice, but not as great as people make out

By jennyferjay |

Returned here for the first time in a couple of years so I could try the Impossible Burger, and wasn't that impressed. I asked to have it with no sauce, and the waitress literally refused, and said there were to be NO MODIFICATIONS. How hard is it to actually just leave some sauce off? Like seriously. Not really the service I'd expect in a fine dining restaurant. I also had a chocolate milkshake which didn't taste nice at all. In no hurry to return.

Great plant based food in beautiful setting

Love Crossroads. Service was superb and the location and vibe are perfect. Super hip crowd. Enjoyed the “burger” but adored he chopped kale salad.

Simply The Best!

By Lioness787 |

Divine. Food for your soul & your cells. 1. Inventive items like the sublime "oyster" bites to comfort favorites like the carbonara or veal/chicken parmiganna. 2. Best pizza ever - and i only recently gave up non plant pizza. Everyone in my party including meat cheese eaters loved it and said it is by far one of the best. 3. Tal Ronnen is my HERO. 4. Thank you to Kathy Freson for putting Crossroads on my radar. Forever in your debt and also for any of you readers out there...leaning in...highly recommend her books: Veganish and 72 Reasons to be Vegan. 5. Drove from Santa Barbara just to dine. My plant based daughter bday choice...i wish i could come every week! 6. Staff and service is always excellent. 7. Make Reservations. 8. Seriously i would write poetry to Tal and Crossroads if i could...they deserve an Ode as any only a giant like Pablo Neruda could have composed. In Gratitude Crossroads!

Nicest Vegan restaurant I've been to

By Smuckuss |

I should start by saying I am not vegan, but I have known several people over the years who are. So I have eaten at a number of vegan restaurants, though more often it is restaurants that have vegan options because it can be difficult to find vegan-only restaurants in a lot of places. So I visited Crossroads Kitchen with a vegan friend who lives in LA. At first glance you wouldn't think this was a vegan restaurant, but just a normal fine dining restaurant. It is located in West Hollywood and it was busy on a Friday night as should be expected. But we got a reservation and had no problems getting our table when we arrived. It seemed we had good service for a busy night. The food was mostly all outstanding. There was one dish I didn't love as much, but for the most part the food was delicious. Tables are fairly close together so you have to be ok with some lack of privacy, but besides that I would definitely recommend Crossroads Kitchen. If you are vegan, it is a great option. And it is a great option even if you aren't vegan.

Exceptional food

By Eric D |

Crossroads serves exceptional plant based food that would delight both vegan and non vegan alike. Served small plate style allowed us to sample the many flavors the dishes have.

High end vegan restaurant

By NicMoraXO |

If you don’t have to be vegan to love this place. The “chicken parmigiana” tastes almost exactly like the real thing. The food is seriously SO good! The portions are small, so order a bunch of things. It’s expensive, but a great place for a date, friends dinner, or if you want to take your vegan friend for a nice birthday dinner.

Hip Vegan Eatery

By Nicholas B |

I came here to celebrate my birthday with my partner on a Friday night. Boy the place was pumping and had plenty of atmosphere. Having heard it can be loud I requested a quiet table and was placed in the back section (away from the main bar/bistro) which was an absolutely perfect fit! It was so exciting to have a full vegan menu to choose from. We didn’t opt for the tasting and rather shared a range of dishes which was more than enough. We let ourselves be guided by the server about the favourite dishes which was a great decision. All dishes were delicious and generously sized. Our stand outs were the truffle potatoes and roasted maitake. We were too full to tackle dessert. Memorable dinner out and no misses with the dishes we had!

I'm in love with this place 🥰

By Stacy Strickland |

I'm in love with this place! The service is great, and the food is delicious. I love how creative they are with their plant based menu. And, I love that my carnivorous boyfriend enjoys it as much as I do. On our last visit, we had the artichoke oysters which may be my new menu favorite. The carbonara is his favorite, so we order it every time we go. The chicken parmesan was really good. I've never had the "real" version, so I can't compare them. The strawberry rhubarb neopolitan dessert was so creamy and amazing. It might tie with the artichoke oysters for my favorite. Wow!

Excellent vegan food at reasonable prices.

By John W |

This restaurant really surprised us. Beautifully presented vegan food with subtle flavourings and thoughtful combinations on the same plate. In addition, the deserts were exceptional as this is usually a sore point at vegan restaurants. Highly recommended.

Creative Vegan

By Angela |

Love that they change the menu every season, gives you the opportunity to try different things. The food and drinks are always high quality. You will walk away full and satisfied. You do not feel like you are eating vegan food. It is good for a date night or just going with friends. I recommend trying lunch and dinner....you will not be disappointed.

Disappointed

By KharysTz |

I was really hoping that the impossible burger was going to be amazing, but I was really let down. The burger was lacking in flavor and sophistication and our server also failed to notify us of the specials-- we had to hear about the special style impossible burger from the table next to us even though we had the same waiter. Speaking of our waiter, he was quite inattentive and it felt as though he was ignoring us if not to bring us our food or the bill. Perhaps I will try the restaurant again as other items sounded good on paper, but if you are solely coming to try this vegan burger, I suggest that you go elsewhere for a garden patty. The impossible burger tasted nothing like beef in case this wasn't clear.

Amazing food

By Sanela B H |

Let me start by saying that we are not vegans or even vegetarians but we found that food absolutely amazing ! It was truly an experience in itself , plant based food which was full of flavour and incredibly delicious . Highly recommend to everyone wishing to try something different , you will be amazed !

A truly "wow" vegan restaurant

By tonyrnyc |

My wife has been vegan for many years, and we've enjoyed vegan food in many cities around the world. Crossroads was just amazing. The dishes were creative and absolutely delicious. We're New Yorkers and are proud of our vegan options, but Crossroads outshines them. And thanks to our waiter/bar staff, Al, for guiding us through the options with expertise and charm.

A little disappointing for takeout

By traveldreams06 |

I was eager to try crossroads in my “vegan tour” of LA ! And though the menu sounded wonderful and the hostess couldn’t have been nicer, the items just missed the mark compared to the other places I tried (and crossroads was pricier too!). Perhaps eating in and not grabbing takeout would be different but here’s my take (on takeout ) Grilled shitake mushrooms in spicy sauce sounded delicious but didn’t taste right A and were really salty Marinated olives were delicious (but hard to really mess up) Kale salad was ok. Nothing special (though appreciated GF croutons) Brussel sprouts most disappointing. I love these green guys but they were so soggy and oily (though nicely seasoned)

Only Forks Needed at Crossroads

By Little Birdy |

This restaurant is one of the best meals I've ever had. I brunched with some friends of mine who are animal activists/hardcore vegans and friends with the chef. The meal was expensive but totally worth it. The staff is well versed in all the ingredients and flavors and not once did I feel I was eating 'vegan'. Everything is rich with flavor and nutrition. Eating clean.

DELICIOUS!

By Palvi |

I cannot recommend eating here enough the waiter was so great at offering suggestions on what to eat. The food was incredible so delicious. I don’t like mushrooms at all and the Calamari Fritti which were made from king oyster mushrooms were absolutely incredible. The Spicy Rigatoni was divine and so was the Lasagna Bolognese. I could not recommend eating here enough! All three course that we ate did not disappoint at all.

Best vegan in LA

By Ally B |

I love love love it here , everything I have ever ordered has been top notch. The popular dishes are the impossible burger,(only served at lunch) the meatball sub and the Caesar salad was so bomb. The wine list is also really good. We also have had the warm cookie with ice cream that was very delicious. I want to come back and try more things on the menu. It’s a beautiful restaurant and definitely worth checking out.

Vegan, Mediterranean - good for a special occasion treat

By MsKsMiscellany |

This was my second time visiting Crossroads. We first visited on a weekday and this time, on a weekend. I was very excited to try the artichoke oysters and I was not disappointed. The flavor was good and my artichoke "hating" companion enjoyed the bite I shared. My dining companion ordered the crab cakes as his sharing plate and really enjoyed it! Depending on how hungry you are, consider ordering more than one sharing plate for the table or to supplement your main, as the plates are relatively small. We each enjoyed a pasta dish and left satisfied, but I think I would have still been hungry had we not ordered the appetizers.

Vegan party of 10 (9 non-Vegans)

By bfranks |

We had Sunday brunch for a birthday celebration and most of us shared food, nearly everything tasted like meat, probably the most like meat than any other Vegan meals I've had. Chicken and waffles were the top dish, great texture and the waffles were good (didn't reheat well in toaster oven) The meatball skillet was the second best dish, the sauce was delicious and the meatballs almost tasted like a very lean meat. Breakfast sausage was amazing, I swear I was eating a sausage patty, the biscuit wasn't really good... dry and sort of crumbled. The side of fruit was very sweet. Side of potatoes were dry. Overall, easily the best Vegan experience ever. You could easily please non-Vegans here but you may set the bar too high.

Exquisite amazing vegan food

By pmjc |

Four of us had a half dozen or more dishes for a tremendous evening of sights and tastes. Particularly impressive with the mushroom "oysters" on an artichoke leaf "shell", the crab cakes - who knows how they made them so special, and two of the pasta dishes. Absolutely fabulous. Were seated in a booth in a mid-size alcove which was great for conversation. Service was professional.

Crossroads made our holiday in LA

By robin |

I wish this restaurant was in Dublin! Excellent food, atmosphere, service & value. This was our favourite restaurant while we were in LA for 10 days. We went twice and wish we went more. We didn't particular like the food LA had to offer in general and Crossroads was our saviour! All I can say is Crossroads is innovative and absolute perfection. Thank you!

Worst experience.

By Les Adri |

Worst dining experience. Ruined my birthday night. I took my self out for dinner and was ignored the entire night. I was told at first it’s because he assumed I was waiting on someone(this was 20min in. Not once was I acknowledged or asked if I was waiting); when actually spoken to, I was rushed then told, “Since you had to wait, I’ll let you take your time.” Uh what? My server forgot to put orders in; including my drink(which I waited on for another 20+ min). He cursed out loud both times when realizing he forgot. I was brought items I didn’t order. My pasta came out cold, pasty, unseasoned, and dry. When brought a re-fire dish, I had to flag down my waiter for silverware just so I could eat it; to which he pulled a spoon out of his pocket and put it in my pasta. I had to ask for a fork. I was charged for items I never ordered and charged for a more expensive pasta than I ate. I spent my whole birthday evening working to get noticed, and working to get service and food at a reservation I set. All while watching my server cater to other tables, including the one next to me, and check on them. This was my first time here. I was super excited. Instead I had the worst dining experience and felt like the unwanted Black chick in the corner. So disrespectful and disappointing.

Always amazing

By Inspector_Chuck |

Everything is fresh and delicious. Focus on Plant based dishes, not “fake meat”. Go with a group so you can order many of the small plates and share. Bar has great special cocktails. Good for celebrity sightings.

Bad ethics

By NickyYValencia |

Crossroads was my favorite restaurant till today. I arrived before our reservation but my guest was stuck in traffic jam. So they refused to seat me they said you can stay in the lobby or go to the bar area. I can’t believe this and when after 25 minutes I asked if I could be seated to the manager he said no because we are losing money and now if you are going to stay over the allotted time ,which is 1 hour, we will have to find another table. Never again, I can somewhat understand their point of view but not everything is about money. I could have ordered an apetizer or they can allow walk ins if money is all they can think about.

Unbelievable

By Sanjeev W |

Think Vegan and the word "boring" more often than not comes to mind. Well, we were in fir a huge surprise when we were invited by our friends this week. As we walked in, the ambience was very welcoming, warm and very pleasant. We had a rather late reservation for 10 PM- Even at that time there was no table unoccupied. Nice collection of wine and alcohol, cocktails were great too. The food was just unbelievable. It was the exact opposite of "boring"😄. Very creative use of ingredients. We must have ordered at least 10 items and all of them more then hit the spot. My personal favorite - Crab Cakes. Mikhaila was excellent in looking after us and so were the other team members. I will recommend this as a "must do" for anyone living in or Visting LA.

Lost Stars

By misanthropicdreamer |

We used to love coming here because they are very happy to make gluten free versions of their food. The food tasted great. So this time around we decided to cater the food to our rental. They were professional and made seven different items in generous amounts. However the quality and taste had deteriorated. 1. Truffle potatoes had too much truffle oil and garlic. 2. Zucchini Blossoms were inedible because the gf breading had been fried too crispy and hard. 3. The calamari similarly had a bizarre consistency and did not taste good. 4. Roasted cauliflower tasted good but was cut in a way that left the hard core. 5. Braised leeks tasted good but again they left on the hard green part that should have been removed. 6. Truffle pizza had too much truffle oil which overpowered the mushrooms. 7. Spaghetti Carbonara was probably the best part but even that was average. Disappointing.

Went for dinner , the place was packed on a Wednesday night !!! At the upscale Melrose avenue at Beverly Hills , food was superb , innovative .. very small helpings .. but delicious.. I am wary of vegan options being served at various restaurants and never really enjoyed the preparations , but really enjoyed this one

Vegan, small portions, nice decor

Crossroads is a fancy Vega restaurant , nicely decorated. They don’t give you much to eat unless you order side dishes. The meal was over in half an hour. Not a place to hang out any talk. It was crowded on sat afternoon.

Vegan delights for Non-Vegans

By DrWhoDallas |

We recently dined with our vegan daughter at Crossroads in LA. I confess to having had low expectations due to several other vegan places in LA previously. We were blown away by the elegant and delicious dishes at Crossroads. The restaurant itself is a cool place - contemporary, but not loud. The service was impeccable, and the two servers helping us were available and informative, but not pushy. And the wine list was a nice surprise - excellent selection and not over-priced. But it was the food that was just so good - split pea soup never tasted so good; the veggies (brussel sprouts, truffle potatoes, etc.) all excellent; the pastas were as fine as any Italian place. And to my personal satisfaction, there were only a few dishes with "fake meat" in their names (and I acknowledge that this is purely a personal peccadillo of mine) - the dishes were straight-up vegan and outstanding. I cannot wait to go back.

We’re not vegan , but this food is spectacular.

4-23-19 1145an arrival. Full disclosure, we visited from jersey because we heard Travis Barker talked it up on Joe Rogan. The statement was “even if your not vegan you’ll love it” We were early however we we seated quickly. The place was gorgeous and cozy. We were served by Candace who was witty, knowledgeable and just cool people. The food was on point. The chicken and waffles stood out the most. My pasta was cooked perfect. No complaints... Thank you Vega Family P.S Scott Ian was nice enough to take a picture with son. CrossroadsRocks

Crossroads is one of my favorites in LA. Service is really good and the food even better. Go for the kale salad. Amazing restaurant in West Hollywood!

Solo Dinner

By lenanash31 |

I hit up this spot for dinner before my flight home to NYC. I sat at the bar and ordered dinner for one. The bar staff was friendly, only they seemed a little distracted the whole time. It was a Sunday night and the crowd was pretty light. I ordered a glass of wine & the Pasta Bolognese. Both were absolutely delicious. The "Meaty" Bolognese sauce was spicy and tasted like the real deal. The pasta also tasted home made and very fresh. I would go back in a heartbeat!

Fantastic, Beautiful, Flavorful

Everything at Crossroads Kitchen is vegan. Curious as to whether something might have dairy or any animal product in it? Not here. Rest assured, all of your questions have already been answered. The “cheese” is vegan. The Ice “cream” is vegan. The “meat” is vegan. You are completely covered here with a plethora of small and not as small delicious plates to choose from. My wife and I headed here for our 15th wedding anniversary. We’d never been. We love new places, and we especially love places where we can eat everything on the menu! They greeted us at our table with a couple glasses of complimentary champagne as they saw on the reservation that we were celebrating. That was so sweet and thoughtful! Everything we ate was beautifully presented and tasted really really good. I started with the Wooden Nickel cocktail. They said this was their version of a Manhattan and it tasted a lot like a really good Old Fashioned to me with a happy cherry surprise waiting for me in the martini glass it was served in. I also had the chilled cucumber melon soup which was really refreshing, and thick too…it was kind of like drinking foam and it had a lovely melon ambience. My wife enjoyed the Summer Minestrone Soup she ordered. The couscous in it gave it a nice heartiness complimenting the very present tomato taste. I also have the truffle potatoes which were wonderfully crispy with a delightful truffle flavor. These were perfectly cooked allowing me to enjoy the softness of the potato on the inside as well as the crispiness on the out, and it was topped with a “parmesan cheese”-like substance which was the most authentically vegan parmesan I’ve ever had. For my main, I had the Italian “sausage” (soy and potatoes based - and gluten-free!) It was served with peppers, onions and a tomato sauce which I thought was very tasty though there wasn’t a lot of flavor in the sausage itself. My wife had The roasted eggplant which was a large and impressive looking half of an eggplant dish covered with a tahini that was spicier than she wife wanted (It didn’t say anything about spicy on the menu though other menu items did.) They were also nice enough to not include the breadcrumbs to keep it gluten-free for her. We also shared the Gigante Beans…which were truly GIGANTE…I’m not always a fun of large beans like this but these were delicious and possibly my favorite savory flavored item that we tried. We enjoyed everything though wife did feel that the meal overall was a little richer than she expected or necessarily wanted, but all the flavors were just right. We did succumb to the waiter’s temptation and had the cast-iron corn bread dessert. This was downright amazing with a moist and delicious cornbread, topped with roasted brown sugar peaches, with a fantastic vegan vanilla ice cream on the side that was sitting in a little bed of crispy cornmeal. This was indulgent, flavorful and awesome. Our wandering eyes also were salivating at everything we didn’t order but we saw head out to other tables…the artichoke oysters are definitely in our future. And since we can basically eat everything on the menu…there will be a future. Thanks for a great anniversary dinner Crossroads Kitchen!

We got the Impossible Burger!

By rtwmagazine |

As traveling vegan bloggers, we got wind of Crossroad's 'Impossible Burger', a mysterious plant-based cheeseburger where only so many are made every day. So we turned up when the doors were opened and managed to get one! The ‘Impossible Burger’ is the closest tasting burger to the McDonalds cheeseburger, but it’s plant-based and missing all of the bad stuff. It tasted like a fresher version and we were not left disappointed. We will definitely be back to try other items on the menu! The staff and the ambiance were perfect, thank you for a great visit!

Horrible place

By Rotem Moore Goldstein |

We came to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday .we ordered for 7 people a table at 9:30pm. We haven't got the table at 9:30 because they had busy night ,after we ordered from their website with credit card. They had a flood in the restrooms so the restaurant had bad smell. We got the table only at 10. After we chose dishes from the menu, the waiter told us they are shutin down for the night . The staff were unpleasant all the hour we've spent there . Definitely not going back there, even if I didn't taste the food.

Eat it all.

Every single thing on the menu is delicious and a must try. Everything. From pizzas, to oysters, to cheese to signature cocktails.

Best Vegan restaurant ever!

By Karen W |

This was the most delicious vegan dinner I’ve eaten in two years. The lasagna and tagliatelle bolognese were better than any meat dish. The impossible cigars were amazing and the charred ricotta with apricot glaze was heavenly. From the minute we walked in the hostess was friendly and the general manager was extremely attentive and cordial. The servers were helpful and speedy. I would return for another meal in a heartbeat. The decor is also lovely and the ambiance perfect. Wonderful evening for all.

If you are seeking for a fine dining experience and do not eat animal products, you are in luck! Crossroads is not only classy, refined, and beautiful, the food is amazing, shuuu and there is no meat in any of the dishes ;). Honestly, the beautiful healthy LA crowd, and celebrities just a bonus for eating at this pretty sweet place. Whether you are a vegan, vegetarian or meat eater, Do make Crossroad a must stop LA lifestyle restaurant, and guess what? LA is all about healthy and progressive living! It is a bit pricy but it is worth it!

spectacular plant-based offerings

I wish I live in the area to be able to come often. I took the recommendation from a stranger and found it to be a lot fancier than expected. A nice surprise though. What a treat.

Vegan love for Crossroads

By Lin V |

There is everything to love about this beautiful, elegant, sort of famous restaurant. Famous because the executive chef used to be Oprah‘s executive chef. It is not inexpensive, but when you go to Hollywood or West Hollywood or Beverly Hills, you can expect to pay top dollar for The experience as well as the beautifully presented and perfectly prepared food. It is and experience as much is a meal.

Amazing!

We tried so many dishes, each was as tasty as the last! From appetizers to dessert we lived every bite! I wanted to try this restaurant for years, and I'm so glad I did! It's pricy, but with every penny. The penne with sausage was crazy good. Worth going to LA just to eat at Crossroads!

Inventive Vegan Fine Dining

Varied menu, great service and beautiful plating. Took my non-vegan husband and he really loved it too.

Spiderman loves vegan

By Creeping_Death_LA |

My daughter is vegan so my family brought me here for my pre-birthday dinner. I frowned about it when I arrived and I let my daughter order all the food. The food was actually very good and flavored right, especially my favorite the meat pizza. This vegan restaurant is a celebrity hang out as we were seated next to Tobey Maguire and Tony Kanal.

Exquisite food and vibe

This is my second birthday and 3rd visit to this amazing place. Well worth the trip from Arizona! Excellent hostess, wait staff and food…loved everything about it.
