We recently went to the Lion King on 28 June 2018. Coming from a distance, we wanted to have our meal as close to the theater as possible. So, I found out that they have The Crystal Terrace located in the theater. We booked our reservations 3 weeks prior to our attendance. Fast forward to the day of.... On our road trip, we encountered quite a bit of traffic and had to change our reservations two times. Both times we called, I was received professionally and politely. They were able to accommodate our 5 min. changes each time. When we arrived for our 5:45 reservations, we were warmly received and seated. The food was phenomenal. We have been to some pretty great restaurants and this was right up there with them. My husband and daughter loved the dessert table the best. My daughter who does not even like salad was even excited about trying the salad bar. We truly had a wonderful time. Our waiter was appropriately funny and professional throughout our entire experience. We highly recommend this restaurant especially if you coming for a distance or if you are local to Dallas. Now the comfort level of the theater seats are another story for another review. But The Crystal Terrace gets out vote!! Delicious, Delectable Desserts, Worth your time and money....

Tickets to the performance at Fair Park Music Hall? Make it an event with the buffet at Crystal Terrace. Choices of salads, meats and desserts. Service is prompt and efficient. Park, eat and easily get to the show on time. The perfect way to enjoy the Music Hall.

Over the last three seasons at the Music Hall, I have treated myself and added the Crystal Terrace to my Sunday matinee routine. I am always pleased by the variety, tastiness, and presentation of the offerings. The options at the salad bar have been fresh, crisp, and frequently refreshed. I get desserts first and find it hard to make a decision; the flourless chocolate cake, cheesecake, and pudding, and trifle. The meats have always been excellent and the servings generous; I would pay $20 for the glazed salmon at a restaurant. I am impressed that they don't use root vegetables as filler as you might find elsewhere. The servers are busy, but they are friendly and efficient. In 15 visits, 've never had a server worth less than 18%. I try to get my check early so that I'm not waiting on the server at the end of the meal. I prefer wine, and he variety of red wines is excellent for a buffet.

Recently attended a play and decided to try the buffet at the Crystal Terrace. The food was very flavorable and is frequently replaced. The buffet has a wonderful selection and the cost was reasonable considering the amount of choices. It is a wonderful choice because of its location to the plays, the speed of service, and the varied menu provides choices that can please everyone.

We really enjoyed the food and atmosphere, our server was top notch, and the convenience was great! It isn't a vast range of foods like you might imagine at a buffet but the options were of a much better quality. I will definitely be back.

Made reservations prior to the musical at Fair Park. Convenient as the restaraunt is located inside the Music Hall. Used Valet parking and went right up to the restaraunt. It was a themed buffet. We saw Lion King. The food was wonderfully presented in 3 stations; salad, main course, and desert. Too many options to list, but the food was wonderful. A very relaxing dinner without the stress of rushing to get the the musical.

My family and I went to a pre-show dinner buffet celebrating a birthday. We had been before over the years but not recently. I was very impressed from start to finish. The drinks we ordered were well crafted and ice cold. For starters, they had a magnificent salad bar and appetizer buffet. All the greens and other components such as mushrooms, and heirloom tomatoes were crisp and cold. You build a salad to your liking with lots to choose from. My wife and daughter were decadent and went to the dessert buffet first. It had large variety of beautifully presented dessert items (both hot and cold) which were as delicious as they looked, The entrée and sides buffet featured beef beautifully cooked and tender. It also had a fish dish and chicken dish both with bright sauces. Service was excellent and attentive. I was most impressed with the careful attention paid to each buffet station which were constantly restocked with newly prepared items.

Convenient when seeing a musical at Fair Park. Recommend making a reservation as usually very busy. We usually do and have enjoyed the relaxing meal prior to going to the auditorium. This is a buffet dinner with an excellent salad bar and dessert table. Normally the main course table has vegetables a fish, pork/chicken and carved beef entree. All had been very tasty except for the vegetables. Atmosphere is business casual I usually wear more up scale.

The Crystal Terrace was serviceable but disappointing. The meats were good, especially the roast beef. However, the sides were old and cold, and the desserts tasted worse than store-bought. Unfortunately not worth the price or name of "gourmet buffet".

I booked reservations here nearly a year in advance to make sure my parents and our family had an unforgettable evening when going to see the Lion King at Fair Park Musical Hall. In fact, I booked a season pass to the summer musicals specifically to be able to take them to this show, and having dinner in the same build with aging parents on a Friday night (we both work), made a lot of sense. I even specified that we were celebrating our 27 wedding anniversary, and even called that day to confirm our reservations. Everyone was all dressed up, and when we arrived for this long anticipated event, we were seated not in the main dining room, but in a make shift table by a bus-ing station. We could hardly hear each other over the sound of crashing plates in bus bins. The food was also a disappointment, from hard brussel sprouts to grizzly prime rib. My father suffered a stroke a few months back and we were not even sure if we would be able to attend, so this was super special for him. He is supposed to be watching his diet, but eyed the peanut butter pie on the way in. We acknowledged he could splurge on a few bites. Guess what, they ran out before he could get a piece! The specialty drinks at $10/each were watered down, and peach cobbler tasted funky like dish water. Overall, it was so disappointing, I would not recommend to anyone, even for the convenience. (Oh, and did I mention it is $25/person plus drinks, not worth it at all).
Very good buffet quality and good leadership by management on tipping policy
UPDATE - heard from Crystal Management and they are changing their "suggested tip" calculation. They seemed to be honestly unaware of the way it was being calculated. Really brings respect to an owner/manager of a business who listens to his customers and makes changes that need to be made. Hats off to them and we will be back! Upgraded my review accordingly. Another visit on a Thursday evening. Surprisingly very good food for a buffet. The desserts are not as great as the salad and entree buffets. Service was much improved and attentive since our last visit. Those both deserve 4 stars! However, this is a 2 star review based on their policy. When you ask for the check, your credit card invoice will show "Suggested Tips", which is very helpful to the patron. However, I believe that showing "Suggested Tips" that calculate a tip on the sales tax can be a lack of integrity of the business. Patrons should not be led to think they should tip based on the total with sales tax. It should be a tip based on just the stated menu price the restaurant charges for food and drink. Most restaurants choose to do it the right way and not show a "suggested tip" on a total which includes sales tax. Note to management
