Muy bueno

By Sunset92 |

The restaurant is so dark but the food was very good. The prices are average, not a great deal. The staff was nice and friendly.

Descent food

By clydab |

Being from Miami maybe I'm spoiled when it comes to Cuban food 😁, stopped in for lunch with my husband we split a sandwich, iced tea and fries. The sandwich was nice sized, but sort of bland. Little pricey too 25$. They do have live music 🎵 on the weekend.

Good cuban food

By Repol |

Has tapas & other good cuban food. Viejo ropas (sp?) was amazing..........................................

Delicious!

By kelleyschuler |

Located in a strip mall in Las Vegas, our expectations weren't too high. However, we were very surprised when we got our food. Everything was beyond delicious! We tried several different things based on recommendations from our wait staff and were very glad we did! Our favorite was the Cuban sandwich, and a pork sandwich that melted in your mouth! Generous portions as well! Can't wait to get back here again!

Wow! Amazing food!

By Chris E |

This is my first taste of Cuban food and I’m hooked! We stopped here because we were driving by and saw it nearby. Up for an adventure, we were not disappointed! The atmosphere was great, the food was amazing! Highly recommended!

Terrible food

By Pedro D |

I don’t recommend this restaurant. Its not a Cuban restaurant. The food is terrible. We order rice, beans and chicken and it was terrible. Also, the waitress told my husband “wow, your signature will be to hard to imitate”????

Amazing Cuban Food minutes off the Strip

By Robert B |

Cuba Cafe is located on Tropicana Blvd about 10 minutes East of the Strip and 5 Minutes East of the airport. The lechon asado is the most tender and delicious pork I have ever enjoyed. When going to Vegas I plan my departure time so I arrive there for lunch or dinner. I always want to try one of the other multitude of delicious looking menu items but like the temptress it is, the pork always seductively beckons my name and I obediently follow. But I am never disappointed. The tostones are perfectly cooked and hot when they arrive at the table. The other must order item is the avocado salad, perfectly ripe avocados drizzled with balsamic vinegar and a great mixed salad in the middle. Cannot get enough of the place! Prices are very reasonable and portion size is very adequate

Lots of Choices

By Koushik M |

Very extensive menu, with choice for everyone on the table. We had cheviche, Maduros, and 2 of the pollo entrees.

Great Cuban Food

By jottowag |

Hard to find anything wrong with this place. Lechon Asado and large avocado salad for lunch, 20 bucks. Everything good. The lechon so tender and juicy. The 20 bucks was for two people. We first checked out Fat Boy and saw it was mostly take-out so went to Cuba Cafe as a backup. What a pleasant surprise. Will definitely return, again and again.

Not So Cuban

By Jacob M |

Asada Sandwich is good. Ceviche bland and obvious frozen shrimp. Atmosphere better than most. I don't think I will get my son to try Cuban anytime soon.

Our favourite mealein las Vegas

By helen_edley |

This is definitely a must-try restaurant in Las Vegas. The food is so authentic and delicious, portions are a good size and the menu is extensive and has so many options. We had the ceviche appetizer, then the tostada appetizer (2 shrimp and 2 ceviche, some fries sweet plantain, and the Cuban tasting plate. Everything was amazing!

Cold Foot (Twice)

By Srivera99 |

I brought my family of 7 here for dinner. I read the reviews from others and was interested in getting a great hispanic meal in town and something local. It was a small restaurant with good latin music playing. The servers were very nice and made us aware that it would take awhile to get our food because there were so many of us. Completely understandable. After we ordered food came out timely for our size group. Problem - My son ordered the baby back ribs plate and the ribs were cooked but they were cold in the center. not warm but actually cold. i told the waiter and he promptly went o go correct it. when a new plate came it was new ribs but the same exact issue. fully cooked but cold in the center. Action- they did not charge us for the ribs and they took an additional 10% off the meal. Overall the food was ok but it was very disappointing to have the same issue twice. I would probably not return to the restaurant.

Cubano cubano

By Okiegnome |

If you know what Cuban is this is the place to find it. Ceviche was best thing I've had for anywhere for a long time. Simple great black beans and rice just like my Cuban granny would make,if I had one. Had the skirt steak today and the wife had Cuban sandwich. Look foreword to working through the menu.

Authentic

By IB S |

Eat here every time I visit Las Vegas. Everything taste as good as Mom’s home cooking so if you like Spanish flavors this is the place for Cuban food.

Unexpected, authentic tasty Cuban/Caribbean!

By Violeta D |

I look for Caribbean/Latin American food whenever I travel because it's my favorite. I was so thrilled to discover this restaurant the first day I arrived in Las Vegas. My husband and I enjoyed a delicious real-deal meal (grilled pork, fried yucca with garlic marinade, plantains, black beans and rice, garlic-steamed spinach, salad, etc) and fresh tropical fruit juices/smoothies (guanabana for my hubby, passionfruit for me). Oh yes, and good strong coffee. The food there is so obviously good and the place so popular that while I was eating I could hear call after call asking for large orders to be picked up. Excellent option in Las Vegas!

Fabulous Cuban Food

By Shirley M |

We found this place from Yelp a year ago. Great food. The tasters choice has pork, chicken and ropa vieja (beef) that was an explosion of flavor. The bread basket they bring out first is warm, crunchy and so good. We also had the breaded steak that was yummy. The flan is made with 3 kinds of milk and you will NOT want to share it with anyone. We went there all three days we were in Vegas! Nice atmosphere with linen tablecloths. Don't miss it. We look forward to coming back again and again.

Not like Abulita's

By perfectstranger |

Nice little place. Dimly lit dinning room with attentive service. Food was very tasty and the portion was fair. I liked that they held true to traditional flavor.

Only been here once but...

Only been here once but really liked it!

Delicious Cuban Cuisine

By Mike A |

Typical Cuban food with such incredible flavors. The menu has a great selection of starters, sides and entrees. Best Platanos Maduras! Lovely staff and dancing on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights. Moderate price point~~would go back in a heartbeat!

Great Place

By RockStarKatrina |

If you like Cuban food you must try this restaurant! It’s off the strip and you won’t be disappointed. The food is delicious and the sangria is awesome. The service is excellent.

Amazing authentic!

By Desiree W |

Delicious hidden gem! Excellent fresh food and attentive staff! The empanadas are so authentic. We had the filet salteado and the sampler. Would come back!

Love their food

By Sid_LAS_84 |

Although maybe a little pricey to visit as often as I would like, I have to say that I enjoy every visit to this restaurant. The food is great and I can never decide what to get because they have a good selection of many tasty dishes. Almost every dish has that authentic Cuban flavor and style; and they have very good customer service. If you are looking for Cuban food, look no further. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who asks.

A winner

By caribseeker |

Not an expert on Cuban food, but try it whenever we travel to someplace with a Cuban restaurant. This little place is one of the best; very good food, very good service, very friendly owner. It is not fancy - cafe is a good description - but a good menu, pleasant and clean. The ropa vieja was as good as any I have had, and my wife's seafood dish was excellent. This will be our Vegas Cuban haunt in the future if it continues as at present.

Si Senor!

By Cathi M |

I am cuban, so my standards are high. My husband and I were in the mood for Cuban food and read great reviews, so we went. WOW! Black beans and rice, tostones, ropa vieja, cuban sandwich! So delicious and very affordable.

best cuban food around

By Vanessa Mendoza |

food is ALWAYS on point. we are from out of town and this is a must visit for me because it is literally the best cuban food. There isnt any good cuban food in CA. :/

Very Nice

By LVRoadWarrior |

Love trying different ethnic foods and the food is great. Waitress is very imformative and thoughtful. Bartender had to look up a drink recipe for what I requested and he made a dynamite drink at my request. The pork dishes are excellent. Quite a few locals were there - all enjoying the cafe. Great stop! Not too far off the strip. However, you DO NEED to take a taxi. They have salsa dancing on Saturday nights and Happy Hour is 5-8.

Fantastic Cuisine! Get off the Strip!

By Ryan S |

I get to this restaurant twice a year. They recently expanded to a full bar and restaurant. This trip lived up to the previous 10 times I have been here. The Arroz con Mariscos (Rice with Fish) was fresh, moist and delicious. The Bruschetta was fantastic as always and the Caprese salad as well!! The Puerco con Brandy is awesome!! And they pour a giant Bacardi and Coke if you like a nice big drink! Do yourself a favor and take the $15 cab ride to E. Tropicana for Cuba Cafe. You will not regret. You will eat like a king and for much less than some of the tourist traps in the hotels out there.

Good Cuban Food

By googieb12 |

My hubby and I both love Cuban food and visited this restaurant based on tripadvisor reviews. We were not disappointed. You need transport to get to the restaurant as it is well away from the city center. We selected the tasting plate (ropa veija, puerco asado, and pollo grand mariner) and the lechon asado from the menu. While we were waiting we had drinks and toasted bread. The food was a little slow to come out but was well worth the wait. The pork was cooked to perfection. Personally, I could've used a little more garlic on my lechon asado but otherwise really enjoyed the meal. We were so full, we passed on desert. Definitely worth a visit if you like Cuban and have a car.

Good Cubano food

By westie2 |

It has been over 4 years since we last dined in this small Cuban restaurant so we settled on entrees we have enjoyed in the past. We began with sweet fried bananas along with the complimentary garlic bread. My wife chose salmon al mango – seared salmon with mango sauce and vegetable rice. I ordered pollo tequila – seared marinated chicken breast in fresh herbs with tequila sauce and chipotle served with vegetable rice. Both dishes were good, but my chicken was slightly dry. Prices are very reasonable and portions are ample so we ordered a flan to go in order to meet the minimum $35 purchase requirement on the gift certificate we were using. The flan received a 4 out a possible Fork rating when consumed later in the evening.

SO DELICIOUS!!!

By LTtravelllin |

Our Cuban taxi driver recommended this restaurant ......it's on the East side of Vegas, about 15 minutes from the Strip. WoW......!!! best food I've had in a long time. Generous portions, very reasonable prices........and they had a Cuban Band playing.............Great crowd ...........Great time.

Diamond in the rough

By Lisa M |

Estupendo. Nos disfrutamos de todo. The food was hearty, flavorful, very authentic. The mojito was stiff, so also authentic! And the staff was OK and cleanliness was mediocre at best. Overall, though: Awesome!

Stopped in for lunch

By El Loco (but you can call me Loco) |

Got a combo plate to sample a variety. Everything was delicious, I won’t single any item out as better because every item in my plate was deserving of special mention. The wait staff was very friendly. I don’t live on this side of town so don’t usually get over here, but now that I know how good the food is at this restaurant will try and make this a regular stop.

AUTHENTIC CUBAN DINING

By naarah11 |

Since I have never as of yet been to Cuba my judgement on this café was based on the Cuban cuisine eaten in Little Havana in Miami. The meal I chose was a selection of three house specialties and quite enjoyable. The portions were large and the plantains included on the plate provided a tasty sweet treat to savor. The ambiance was reminiscence of many a Latin American culture and a wonderful place to go to if you want to venture into a quiet and comfortable world for a few hours to get out of the hustle and bustle of Las Vegas, Nevada and the traffic. This would be a good place as well for couples who are out on the town for the day particularly in some of the corner areas of the restaurant if looking for a little quiet romance (the traffic cannot be heard). Furthermore, the Cuban locals eat there which says lots.

UNIQUE

By LVRoadWarrior |

Stopped in for happy hour. We had the plantain chips w/garlic sauce (so good....no vampires that night) empenada and plaintain cups with shrimp. Fun unique dining experience.

Bland

By linnette m |

Living near New York City , I have tasted many different types of foods. I was excited to try Cuba cafe as I saw the great reviews. Unfortunately the only thing good was their service and mojitos. The white rice was much more bland than chinese takeout white rice. The chimichurri tasted like vinager. The roja viera tasted disappointing. Those claim that this is authentic Cuban food.. well I would have to question.

Great food, Great service

By mls89015 |

This was our second visit to the Cuba Cafe. The meal I had last time was so good that I really thought about ordering the same item but decided to try other dishes this time. I am so glad I did! We shared the Media Noche and Pan Con Ropa Vieja. Both were excellent. And of course, I had to have their BBQ Pork Ribs. Just the right amount of sauce to flavor the meat but not overpower the taste. We will definitely be going back!

Great Cuban Sandwiches

By schulze52 |

Have gone here a few times for take out and their sandwiches are great. Love Love Love the classic Cuban sandwich!

Great food and good times.

By Carl S |

My friend and I stopped here for lunch one afternoon. It was so authentic and good, that we brought two friends with us back for dinner the next night! The chicken soup and the Cuban sandwiches are outstanding. I also got a side order of sweet plantains. My friend got the lamb chops special dinner. That was kind of pricey, but once you taste the perfectly seasoned and cooked lamb... it's worth every penny. The two friends we brought the next night were from Puerto Rico and they knew their food. All they did was rave about how tasty their dishes were. It makes a great impression on old friends when you take them to a nice place with great service like that. They also loved the Mango "Juice"... which was really a mango slushie. When I get back to Vegas next time, I will be eating there again.

This place should be doing more business

By simiseeu |

Maybe it's because we were there for lunch on a weekday around noonish, but the Mrs and I were surprised at how relatively empty the place was. And after we finished our meal, we remained even more surprised, because this is really good food at a reasonable rate. We started by sharing a tapas, specifically the roasted peppers and mozzarella. It actually seemed more Italian than Cuban in its composition, but tasty nonetheless and a good value for what we received. They also serve some toasted bread, nothing fancy, but it's good. For the entrees, the Mrs selected the tasting plate, which included smaller portions of some of their main dishes. It was very filling - in fact, she could not finish it. I went with the Lechon Asado, primarily some roasted pork leg so tender you could eat it with your gums Both plates also included rice & black beans along with a small salad. Now who knows, maybe come dinner time or perhaps all weekend this Havana-infused eatery does more solid business. It should because you get a really decent bang for the buck. Give it a shot, I'm sure you'll like.

First visit

By Alan R |

Delightful Cafe with a very extensive Cuban menu. Service was very attentive even with a busy night. My Pollo Al Ajillo was pan fried perfect. The light garlic and lemon sauce was tasty.

Family dinner

By plantainbebe |

Not a fan of the arroz con pollo. Everyone else said they loved their plate. Maybe get the grilled breast on the side, if you want ardor con pollo. The lattes were delicious. The first round was cold but the second round was amazing. The waitresses are so well mannered and the environment was very chill. Being Puerto Rican we tend to be loud. No one seemed to mind my family of seven having a blast!

Large menu

By MaryW |

Had a great meal here with friends. The Cuban food is delicious, authentic, carefully prepared, and good portions. The price was reasonable. Large menu, and apparently they can give you some things off menu, too. It is a bit odd arrangement of tables, and the decor is a bit off (except for the pictures of Cuba, which I love!) But don't let that deter you, or the crazy neighborhood off Strip that it's in. This is a good time.

Blah

By Cesar M |

I'm Cuban but live in Amarillo Texas where there aren't any Cuban Restaurants. So, whenI travel I take advantage and read reviews in order to gain a solid understanding of what's available. Reading the reviews on this restaurant I thought it would be lot better. The moros y christianos were bland say the least. I really wanted to like it there but struck out this time.

Great cuban food, decent price!

By Vegaslegggs |

One of my favorite places to eat in Vegas. Great Cuban food, nice sized portions and good prices. Small and quaint, 10 minutes from the strip. Tasty meals, live music on the weekends. The bread they bring before the meal is delicious!

Great Food, AHHMAzing Mojitos!

By Beatrice V |

A few minutes off the strip, headed to this little place with a party of 3. Rocio was our waitress, and what a sweetheart she is! She was very patient with our questions (my 1st time eating Cuban food) and made recommendations when we asked her to. She was warm and welcoming, which only made our visit all the much better. Portions are good sized and very tasty, I had something similar to a sampler plate, can't remember what it was called. The highlight of my visit was the delicious Mojitos we were served. Angelica was the other waitress that attended to us, and she was also very personable and a joy to have around. Ladies, keep up the great job, I will definitely visit next time I'm in Vegas!

Very bad.

By Flyer38893348575 |

Bad enough, cold food, very bad service, we had never gone, maybe they are new to Vegas, but it was very bad experience

Best Cuban Food Ever

By toolmakerka |

Great food. Came with a group and tasted several plates. All were absolubtly delicious with the real Cuban flavor. As a quote I am from Puerto Rico.

Best Cuban Food in town!!

By mstiffanygirl |

This restaraunt was recommend to us about 3 years ago and now we always go here whenever we are in town and make it a point to bring friends with us. The have remodeled the restaraunt and it is very nice and open now. Very nice decor. We were a party of 7 so I made a reservation even though it was not needed but appreciated. I had the mango salmon and it was super tasty, my favorite. The dressing on the salad was very good as well. The Ropa Viejas is also a very good choice. My husband had the Masitas de Puerco al Brandy. It was beef medallions in brandy sauce, he was overly impressed and loved it. Some of our friends had the Pasta Cuba Cafe, it was a little funky. It is pasta in a peanut butter and chipolte sauce. Tasted like peanut butter. Not the best thing on the menu. The plantains are always good for dessert. Service is pretty good. It is a little far down Tropicana away from the strip but well worth the drive and nice to be away from the strip. Our friends were all impressed and glad we suggested it. Will definitely be back on our next trip.

great food and service!

By Kim G |

We initially went here because we had a coupon, but we would go again because of the great food and great service!

Great little restaurant

By Luis V |

Great cuban restaurant. Good price and food is very flavorful. Great mojito too! Very good rice manpostiado.

Evening meal

By John_Allwright |

Wow The food and atmosphere is outstanding the staff are very friendly great service highly recommended

Great Authentic Taste

By Joseph K |

The food is terrific, it shares the space with a Tapas menu, we went for the Cuban food, my two friends are from Cuba and they really loved the food. The pork was delicious. It is in a strip mall on E Tropicana Ave past UNLV. I highly recommend it. There is also a 15 per cent coupon on line for your order.

Nice place for lunch

By stltraveling |

Having Cuban heritage, we always try Cuban restaurants wherever we go. This one was pretty good; authentic cuisine for the most part, good service and ambiance. Enjoyed our meal and would go again.

Enjoyable meal

By Hoosier5251 |

I little ways off the strip, but an easy lyft ride that didn’t cost much. Found this place to be clean, friendly and not terribly expensive. The two of us both enjoyed the Ropa Veja with fried plantains....yummy.

Don't pay their Workers

By Cleon R |

We interacted with Cuba Cafe, as they were moving to their larger, current location. I visited their soon to be new location and purchased a few pieces of restaurant equipment. A young Mexican couple, *name redacted*, were working for the owner of Cuba Cafe and the Landlord, and Owners of Sergio's Italian Restaurant, Across the street, Mr. Napoli and his Daughter. The restaurant was absolutely filthy. There were roaches and grease everywhere. The couple were on their hands and knees cleaning and scraping, with grease and rotten food covering their bodies and faces. They told me that they are homeless and that they have lived and will live in the restaurant, until they finish cleaning it up and repainting it. They explained to me that Cuba Cafe had not paid them for any of the work. After complaining to the Landlord they were told, by the Landlord, in my presence, that he would pay them with the old broken greasy equipment that they were able to clean up, regardless of what Cuba Cafe does. Basically, they can keep the equipment fix it and sell it. I decided that I would help them move and clean up the equipment, outside of the restaurant. I was well aware that they could not sell the equipment, in this condition, and that it would take a few months to be sold. We rented a large u - haul truck. We were in the processes of moving the equipment onto the truck when the owner of Cuba Cafe, *name redacted*, brought over the Landlord and told the couple that he made a new deal with the Landlord for some of the equipment, *the desirable pieces that worked*, and that they were evicted immediately, for continuing to complain about getting paid, that if they don't leave the property the police will be called. They were not paid, and were once again homeless. I let them borrow the u haul until they could find a place to store the few pieces of damaged nasty equipment that they were allowed to keep. After 2 days, they could not find a place to store the equipment and were living in the u haul. I ended up storing the equipment for them for a year. They were given a key to the storage unit. They never came back and I don't know what happened to the married couple. I have not spoken with them since. You can't hire people, without pay! That is slavery. I don't care if they were drug addicts, criminals, or etc. I'm sitting here tearing up thinking about what they did to these good people. If you have money, pay the poor what they deserve. These people did a very good job cleaning up his restaurant. If you've been there, just remember who cleaned it up. They did an amazing job. They should have been paid, not thrown out.

Worst service ever

By Melissa C |

Worst service everFood is very good but service is horrible waiters do not know what they’re doing and it is the worst place you could actually come to

Delicious!

By go27seas |

Far from the busy, fancy, expensive Strip, this small, laid back restaurant serves big plates of delicious Cuban food! They have a private lot for parking, outdoor seating, and soft Cuban music playing, with simple candles lit on each table. It was nice, without the glamour. We went for early dinner in February. Bus stops nearby for cheap commute. Prices are reasonable for what you get. I will definitely eat here whenever in LV!

Fantastic- Can't stay away!

By storytellerscampfire |

Having found this place years ago on a business trip to Las Vegas- I've never come to or passed through Vegas without stopping. The food was good when I first came, if anything it just keeps getting better. Try the lechon, the morros and critianos, the yucca, the Mofongo! Oh yeah, the Mofongo! The Flan! The Trés Leches cake! Writing the review I had to fill in weather I was there for dinner or lunch. I was there for dinner AND lunch the next day. Nuff said?

Good service, Ok food.

By Miriam V |

The Lechon Asado is a winner but the rest of the food is just ok. The service is really good and they explain us the menú and recommended. The coffee is a must.

Loved the food

By Amy P |

Husband ordered the Cuban sandwich-----we order those at a lot of places-----and said it was the best ever. I had the sampler appetizer platter. The beef empanada was out of this world delicious! I am not a bread person, but the bread they serve pre-meal is delicious. Service seems a tad slow, but nothing to complain about. Prices are very good. We are definitely going back next time we're in Vegas. The night we visited (a Saturday) there was live music. It was very pleasant and it was not too loud at all so we could still converse. Nice touch!

Lunch

By arptak@cox.net |

My husband and I stopped in for lunch. This was my first time there, and it was GREAT!!! I had a traditional Margarita and the Pan Con Bistec. What I like the most was that the sandwich did NOT have fries served with it so you did not fill up on those. I would go back again !!!!

My favorite restaurant!

By Barbara S |

The food is superb. Atmosphere and service are great. If you like Cuban food, this is the place to go!

The Perfect Cuban Sandwich!

By CharleySays |

Well as you may or may not know, I am always in search of the perfect Cuban sandwich. This place is it. While cursing down Tropicana Ave. in Vegas, I said look Cuban! We U turned and went in a well worn strip of shops and entered a new world. So clean, nice, well setup, linen, the works! and the waitress was very friendly and optimally attentive. The chicken soup with the squeeze of lime was oh so tasty. The Empanada was hot and fresh and flaky crusted and had a wonderful filling. The Cuban Sandwich was Swiss cheesy wonderful and the pork was perfection (are you getting the idea I liked this place?). Go and enjoy, I know I will be coming back! Oh Yes, and the prices are so low! Impressed me big time. Great value and flavor and service. That is what we all want!

Excellent Cuban Food!

By Richard S |

We recently had a wonderful dinner at Cuba Cafe. The food, sangria, and service were excellent. And all of this at a reasonable price. Can't wait to get back to Las Vegas and go there again!

Excellent

By Luis V |

Great food. We had the churrasco with moros y cristianos, pastel, y mofongo with lechon asado. Pineapple mojito also good. We also ask for avocado and they brought this avocado salad that was great! Highly recommend.

First timer

By Margarita V |

We visited vegas 4 days but found this place on the last day if we would've known of it since the first day we would of eat there every day food was delicious and that Flan o my gosh it was to die for and Morir Sonando my favorite ,we were looking for a Dominican restaurant but didn't find one but we settled with this one

Great food and Service

By tomsF3744KP |

We had a $15. restaurant.com certificate that was eligible, if we spent $30. My spouse ordered the Cuban sandwich and Plantain's and I ordered the "Old Rags" dinner and 2 waters. The food was absolutely delicious and large servings. I had to get a carry-out box. Our waitress was very good, kept checking on us. The restaurant wasn't crowded and was clean and neat. Our bill didn't quite total the $30. and we were too full to order dessert, so we assumed that we wouldn't get the $15. credit. But, they gave it anyway. We left a nice tip!!

Tasty surprise!

By Escondido2010 |

In Vegas for the weekend we were looking for something different cuisine wise. Driving down Tropicana this place caught our eye. We ordered the Ceviche mixto. It was fresh and had a nice sauce on it. We also had the Taste Plate, which showcased alot of their menu. It was very flavorful. I would recommend this place to everyone.

Just ok, but not real cuban food.

By madmadcat |

Well, this isn't really a cuban restaurant. There isn't a single cuban in there, but most importantly, the staples of the cuban cusine aren't done right (or absent...where is the vaca frita?) We tried the "tapas combo" (platanutres, croqueta, papa rellena, empanada). The papa rellena and croqueta were very good and well made. The empanada was NOT a cuban empanada. The cuban empanadas are fried, not baked. The cuban sandwich was surprisingly tasteless and the pork was cut too thick for a sandwich. My husband got the combo with some chicken cooked with tequila that was tough and tasteless, the roasted pork was bland and it did not have any crispy part in it (it looked like boiled meat). The ropa vieja, on the other hand, was good. Considering the reviews here, we very disappointed. We won't be back.

So so

By suvadeet |

First of all, I married into a Cuban family so I'm used to eating Cuban food. We ordered a variety of dishes to try. For the appetizer we had the Cuba Café Sample which came with a beef empanada, 2 croquetas, mariquitas, and a papa rellena. They were ok. We also had a Cuban Sandwich. Again, just ok. I had the meat platter, which came with Ropa Vieja, Lechon Asado, and Tequila Chicken. The lechon and the ropa vieja was good. My husband ordered Bistec Empanizado and that turned out to be a disappointment. The beef was very tough and dried like it was left in the fryer for too long and was overcooked. I did like the moros y cristianos. I think to not be disappointed here, go with a stewed dish since that was the better tasting item here.

Awesoem Cuban Food

By shellito1012 |

First, the URL for this restaurant should be ---. My husband is Puerto Rican and he loves island food. We decided to make this our first dinner in Las Vegas because we had a coupon from Restaurant.com. This was hands down some of the best food we ate while in Las Vegas. The Lechon was excellent and the Masitas De Puerco Frita Con Cebollas was even better. I cannot say enough how much we enjoyed this dining experience. We wished that we had time to go back while in Vegas....we only hope they will be there when we visit again. If only we had a restaurant of this caliber in Birmingham..sigh.

Absolutely the best dinner

By FamilyTravelersx4 |

Absolutely the best dinner we had in Vegas. They sat us without reservations and did not appear annoyed like some restaurants we encountered on our trip. Their customer service was on point. Very friendly and helpful describing and recommending things on the menu. Food was fabulous! Lamb plate outstanding! The variety dinner plate including 3 different types of meats was also so tasty. Mojitos! Get the pitcher! Authentically made with fresh ingredients. Cherry on top....live music the entire time we were there. A must go to off of the strip.

Authentic Cuban Food in Vegas

By Donna K |

This service at this restaurant was excellent and the food was definitely on par with the cuisine we've eaten in Cuba. Definitely, the place to go for those who wish to eat authentic dishes. With that in mind, for those of you who haven't eaten Cuban food before, don't expect it to be like Mexican food. In comparison, the flavors are much more subtle and mellow. Those who are fans of spicy food may find the experience lacks the pizzaz that comes with other ethnic cuisines. The mojitos were fantastic!

Great food even better atmosphere

By Karina B. |

The food was delicious as were the mojitos, the passion fruit one was our favorite. Attentive staff and live music to top it all off. We will for sure be back on our next visit to Las Vegas!

worst cuban food ever

nothing was made fresh and did not taste good I left everything I ordered and its too expensive .Forget it

Every time we visit Vegas, we will eat at the Cuban Cafe. Our favorite appetizer is the Shrimp/Mahi-Mahi Cerviche Combination!! It has AMAZING FLAVORS and my husband and I get it every time we visit. The service and staff are very welcoming and friendly.

Fantastic find...

By PJ F |

This restaurant looks unassuming on the outside but the inside is a wonderful surprise. Beautiful decor and great service. The food was authentic Cuban and soooo good...We started off with a Coconut Mojito that was cold and tasty. For food we had the sampler plate that had two pieces each of four different Cuban specialties served with banana chips and two sauces that were the perfect compliment. We also had the Cubano Sandwich and the Pan Con Aropa Vieja Sandwich...each made in the traditional way to perfection. Everything was delicious. We finished off the meal with real Cuban coffee. Perfect. Our waitress was fast and attentive and served us with a big smile. What a great find right on Tropicana just past Spencer on the right. We can't wait to go back!

Best Cuban this side of Miami. A must if you like the food. Nice staff, friendly. Good ambience. Parking not an issue.

Great Cuban Food

By George P |

I was born in CUBA and every chance I get to eat cuban food I go out of my way to try it. I found this restaurant very authentic and the food very good. I ordered ROPA VIEJA and YELLOW RICE and I liked it so much that I went back two nights later and ordered the same thing again. Prices were reasonable and service was good. Next time I go back to VEGAS I will definitely go back to this restaurant and try other items in their menu.

Large variety

By Chris H |

I ordered a chicken sandwich, proportions where large, food was hot and tasty. Price seemed a little high for just a sandwich during lunch hour. Very welcoming atmosphere and hostess was very helpful and nice.

Good food and service

By A Tripadvisor Member |

Have had plenty of Cuban food elsewhere and the food here is good. Haven't had Cuban food in a few years and was hoping for great food and service, but it's good enough.

Small, intimate And Good Food

By Nancy15423 |

This caught my husband's eye as we were driving and trying to find a lunch spot, that wasn't a chain or on the Strip. Having eaten Cuban food before, I can testify to the quality of the food! He ordered the Ropas Viejas and raved about it! I ordered the sampler and the avocado salad and would definitely order it again. Next time we are in Las Vegas, we will visit Cuba Cafe again!

Great Food, Terrible Service...

By PJ F |

We love eating here when we are in Las Vegas, so we decided to take friends there on our recent trip. We usually get great service, but even though we made a reservation for 5 people and showed up on time our table was not set or available. They had most of the tables already set with vases of flowers and beautiful pink linen napkins. When they made up our table we got only silverware and a paper napkin. Not the way to impress our friends! I asked if we could have linen like the other tables and she came back and tossed a handful of linen napkins in the middle of the table. Just short of being rude. We were ignored for quite while, then we were asked what we wanted to drink. We ordered wine and she didn't come back for almost 20 minutes. She never told us there were specials available for lunch (we found out on our way out of the restaurant) and though my friends stated they had never had Cuban food she never suggested or explained anything and so we suggested they order the tasting plate. When their tasting plates came she plunked them down and left without a word...we had to explain to our friends what was on the plate. We were then ignored. We finally waved her down long after we were finished, and after trying to get us to order dessert she left and came back 10 minutes later with the coffee we ordered, even though at that point we were the only party left in the restaurant. It then took us a long time to get and pay the check. My friends loved the food, but the service was terrible and left a bad taste in all our mouths.

Vacation

If you are Cuban or like Cuban food and need a Cuban fix away from home. In Las Vegas this place is very good. Great service

Average Food, overpriced

By scottsdalegirl1000 |

Attractive, clean restaurant. Typical cuban menu. Didn't want a huge meal as I had a 5 hour drive so ordered from their tapas menu. Ordered pork chunks with "moros y christianos"---that means white rice cooked with black beans with it. The name of the dish "moros y christianos" is a historical one. The moors invaded Spain from north africa. So Moros is Spanish for moors and "christianos" would be the Spanish (or the christians.) Thus, this blend of rice and beans is called "moors and christians".. Interesting, right? Anyway the rice was OK nothing to write home about. The pork needed additional seasoning. BTW, only 2 chunks of pork was given with the rice for$8.99. In some restaurants you can get a real meal for that. This was an appetizer. It happened that this is all I wanted to eat because of the upcoming long drive. We ordered tostones or fried plantains which were crispy on the outside Nice job. However, the garlic sauce that usually accompanies tostones was not good. They didn't use fresh garlic, but instead the commercial garlic that comes in jars. Not very tasty. My guests ordered the cuban sandwich and the "media Noche " sandwich. Both were just OK. You really want to be wowed by these sandwiches since they are signature sandwiches in cuban fare. Being just ok is unacceptable--you want them to be Yummy. If you don't mind over paying for average food, then this is the place for you. There are other cuban places in Vegas to explore.

Great Cuban styled food!

By Stormyfour |

We just happened by this restaurant on Tropicana on our way to the airport. Needing a quick meal, we stopped and were surprised. The Ropes Viejo were excellent & there is a sample platter that offered samples of Cuban foods.

My first Cuban Food experience

By SchneiderGuy |

I would definitely recommend this cool little spot. Very friendly staff, quick service, reasonable prices! The sampler plate that gives you some chicken, pork, and beef with a salad and rice was very good!

fantastic!

By pspoker |

3 of us went there last night. I had the fish, a little over cooked but still good. The creamed spinach that came with it was fantastic. One other had the pork leg, which was super moist and tasty. The other guy had the ribs. Who knew ribs were so good in a Cuban restaurant! The food takes a while to come out from the kitchen so don't be in a hurry. Highly recommend.

Short on atmosphere. Tall on taste.

By Marguerite L |

We both had the roast chicken with beans and rice. Be prepared to practice your Spanish. Watched a dozen people order to go. People dining-in looked as though they had been in before. Good food. Here on a short personal business trip.

New Location/Better Atmosphere

By Joseph S |

The Cuba Cafe on Tropicana has been a favorite for several years. It has moved about 200 feet West of its previous location to Suite #1. The interior is now about triple in size. There is now an inviting, separate bar area with several tables. The food continues to be tasty and reasonably priced. Service was prompt and friendly. While placing plates on the table, the hostess hesitated, and then removed one. She had spotted something she did not like about the plate; an observation none of the four people in our party had made. When we left at about 7 P.M. the restaurant was almost full. This is a good stop for off "Strip" dining and has been developing a good local following.

Great food as always

By mls89015 |

We know that we are going to get a great meal anytime we stop in here. Food is always excellent! Cuban sandwich and media noche are always my favorites.

Best Cuban in Vegas

By NoneReally |

I had a coupon so I gave Cuba Cafe a try. I’m so glad I did! Their Cuban Sandwich rivals that found in Little Havana (Miami). Portions were large; I only ate half and took the other half back to the hotel for a late night snack. Staff helpful and friendly. Note: the soda pop is COLD! Often I am left disappointed with drinks especially in Vegas....so hot outside and I love a cold beverage. Cuba Cafe delivers! One picture is the Cuban sandwich and the other Chicken Caesar.

One happy family!

By Elijah_E_W |

I stopped in here on a whim with my family of four. Everything was very tasty....well seasoned. The service was friendly. From the media noches to the maduros to the tapas to the flan...everything was delicious. The place may not be the most chiq restaurant you'll go into, but they make some good grub.

Loved it

By Laudica711 |

Haven't had any cuban food since i lived in NYC. and this just hit it home for me. I had the sampler, which had ropa viejo, lechon, and a chicken. They served decent portion. and the flavoring of the food is just great. i believe it's more of a local spot. but if you wanna get away from the strip, have a very delicious meal, and not break the bank... i recommend you come here.

Very good!

By camines4me |

This restaurant was a very pleasant surprise. The shrimp plate came with extra large shrimp and the rice was excellent. The chicken plate was super good and the proportions were excellent. I would eat here again for sure. Highly recommend that you try this place.

Great dinner!

By Laura and Hal |

Excellent food, get the empanadas and lamb chops!! People were very willing to let us change up the side dishes when we requested that. Great service, easy parking, reasonable prices. Comfortable.

Standard cuban but fresh and tasty

By Cinderzz |

This is not "fabulous" cuban food but better than many joints in Miami. Actually, the best Cuban I have had is in Puerto Rico! Having said that, there is good value in a very pleasant setting, not too far from the airport area. The menu is larger than many Cuban "cafe" menus and I highly recommend the yucca. My only observation is that the garlic used was very pungent and not very fresh. Skip the flan unless you don't know what a really good flan tastes like.

Change for the better

By westie2 |

Much has changed in the 6 plus years since we last graced this restaurant's premises including a move to larger quarters a few doors down from its old location. Shortly after taking a seat, a basket with warm slices of Cuban bread were delivered to our table. My wife ordered mango salmon which was accompanied by yellow rice and a mini salad. I went with the tasting plate that included ropa vieja, lechon asada, and polla tequila that included morros & Christianos and maduros. Portions are large so neither of us could even think about dessert this evening. Prior to exiting I told the owner to compliment the chef because the food was much improved over our last visit.

Pay homage to the noble pig.

By potrazebe |

Stopped in to try something different each nite of vacation. Staff very pleasant & friendly. Mojitos quite good. I ordered media noche sandwich which was truly delicious. My wife got the tasting plate and offered me a bite of the lechon asado. OMG! It melted in my mouth and flavor was wonderful. All the food flavorful, nice sized portions and reasonably priced. If I lived here I'd definitely be a regular.

Great Cuban food!

By IdahoNick |

Our absolute favorite place to eat Cuban food. This place is really good and I would highly recommend it. Service is a little slow, but worth it. Every time we are in Las Vegas we hit this spot!

A pleasant surprise not far off the strip

By Robert B |

This was a great find that we noticed on "restaruant.com" and we knew we had to go check it out. We went on a Friday afternoon between the traditional lunch and dinner times, the place was nearly full- but we got a seat without a wait. In one location we saw it's physical place of business to be next to Hooters Casino, this was inaccurate. It is on Tropicana Blvd, past Hooters, past the airport.... about 2 - 3 miles off the Strip in a small strip mall. If you blink, you're past it. Very clean on the inside and very good prices, looks like a great "mom and pop" type operation. The menu had all the Cuban classics, we both had a cuban sandwich that was fantastic. On our next trip to Vegas we will definitely go back, we are looking forward to trying the lechon, black beans and rice.

Five stars is too much

By drewsels |

Five stars is taking the piss frankly!why review a somewhat grubby eaterie on a dirty highway in the arseend of nowhere(ESP in a loser haven like Vegas) if ur going to drop5stars?u negate the entire purpose of doing a review at all! It's on a busy highway but is easily accessible going east.it's dirty and uncared for outside but slightly less so inside.the food was great both starters and accompaniments and Vieja ropa.chicks on two occasions helpful friendly and agreeable on both occasions despite our noisy kid and food hard to beat.inexoensive also.to give five stars is total guff in the extreme and disingenuous in mild terms.3 or 4 is fair and reflects how the premises are cared for and looked after.i say again ta is f...ed if you lot continue to write rubbish reviews about average venues.i can't be more honest tha that!

Excellent Cuban!

By dmassion_10 |

We had a wonderful, authentic, Cuban meal at Cuba Cafe. We ate early, for cubans (8 pm) so the service was really outstanding. The ropa vieja was the best I've tasted as was my wife's puerco de masa but the real treat was genuine mojitos and flan to die for. We recommend this cafe and will revisit it on our next trip to Las Vegas.

Vibrant food and atmosphere

By Thomas K |

My husband and I went to visit this Vegas staple of Cuban cuisine last month, and were surprised by its wonderful favors and setting. First was our Tapas: roasted peppers topped with mozzarella cheese, and two Rack of Lamb chops. Of course, we ordered the special pitcher of sangria (honestly, the BEST I've had in Vegas). Our entrees were both the "Cuba Café Sampler," which include one ham croqueta, one beef empanada (a pastry turnover filled with ground beef, i.e. like a pasty for those of us who are Irish/Welsh descendants), one papa rellena (A baked potato dough stuffed with shredded pork, onions and spices) and fried green plantain chips (mariquitas). The dirty rice and beans were amazing. Actually the entire plate was perfection! We had dessert titled "Maria Luza," which is a layer of flan (Mexican custard), Tres Leches (sponge cake) and topped with a pineapple family recipe sauce. Hello? We're in Heaven! Don't forget the Cuban Coffee! After driving by this restaurant many of times, I am grateful for having stopped and enjoyed a meal here. Footnote: there's a nice bar at the entrance with live music stage (I assume during the night hours). I would highly recommend dining at Cuba Café, and can't wait to go again. The staff were efficient (never did our water glasses empty) and explained the menu with a warmth and friendly excitment. Loved the Cuban music being played, and the vibe of the restaurnat.

Very good Cuban Fodd - hidden gem

By Steven B |

Searched for a Cuban place in the area and found this great place. Very friendly and attentive staff. Large menu with a lot of interesting choices. We started with the sampler appetizer and had a great empanada, ham & cheese croquette, and beef croquette with fried plantains, all excellent. I had the chicken tequila which was very good, although obviously previously frozen chicken breast, a little dry, but tasty with excellent yellow rice. We also had the mahi-mahi and creamed spinach. I don't like fish, but was told it was excellent and not fishy at all. The creamed spinach was good. We also tried one fo the pork dishes which was excellent as well. I would still come back to try some of the other dishes.....I would like to give the ropa a try as its one of my favorites. Most of the dishes were around $15 which I would consider a good deal.

Decent

By Wandering_Parents |

My group have eaten here 3X. I have to say, I believe the place is decent but not great. Sandwiches have always been smaller than expected with not much inside of them. Price is higher than expected and don’t come with a side. Food is tasty and location nice for East side

Delicious

By Sharon J |

Came here with some friends and my husband. We are visiting from out of town. We enjoy Cuban food. We got seated quickly and given menus. There was live music playing at the time. A little loud to really be able to carry on a conversation. We ordered and the food came out pretty fast. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. They keep the place dimly lit and when we mentioned we couldn't really see the menu, she brought me a little lamp to use. Will go back again, if we ever return.

maybe it's just me, but i wanted more

By paauilojo |

lavender and black is interesting color choice for decor, the wait staff very darling and sweet. i had the sampler. from the left going clockwise: salad (ok) black beans and rice (okay) fried plantains (yummy)chicken (dry) ropey pork (yummy) beef (tender, semi-yummy). of course i measure all cuban food by the omega in washington, dc (now closed i think). their chicken was succulent, not so here. the beans and rice divine (less so here - no spice, no kick), i never ate pork at omega so this one was yummy, and did not have beef at omega. this one was tender but not FLAVORFUL.

changed hands for the worse

By Robert D |

apparently has changed hands. sweet plantains were dried out, lechon asado tasted like they had spilled the salt shaker and was dry. one of the entrees wasn't even hot all the wat thru, they have no liquor license. used to be a favorite family restaurant but we will not be returning.

Delicious

By Angel R |

Cubans from Florida visiting Vegas. Uber driver recommended this place and it was delicious! Will visit again!

SIMPLY WONDERFUL IN EVERY WAY

By Kris S |

A family run restaurant, not far from the Strip, with easy access and parking. Fabulous small plates as well as full meals. I take everyone I pick up at the airport here first thing. You can't go wrong. They make great mojitos; they make great non-alcohol alternatives. The food and value is superb. Kid friendly, romance friendly, business friendly...there's just only good here. Makes you want to be Cuban!

Great return visit, my friend enjoyed it

By al4175 |

Went here for lunch during my recent visit with my local friend. She used to live in Tampa area and has spent quite a bit of time in Miami so was enthused to hear of a cuban restaurant in Vegas. Friend had the Sandwich Cubano, which I'd had last time. I had a variation called Pan Con Lechon (pork and raw onion). I had a fruit flavored cuban soda. We had Mariquites Con Mojo (plaintain chips with garlic sauce) and a roasted pepper appetizer (which doesn't appear to be on their online menu). Great, tasty food cooked to order. My friend really enjoyed the authenticity and atmosphere and said it compared favorably to Florida cuban places.

Atmosphere: linen napkins, mellow decor and tasty large portions

By aladdin_mp |

Not too far from the airport so when travelling, go early, relax and enjoy tasty Cuban food, any type of meat or mariscos (seafood) appetizers and dinners to savor. Their various coffees are WONderful. Not crowded on a weekday noon so excellent service for our first visit. We WILL return. Widely spaced booths and tables in the restaurant part, and a larger bar at the other end. Nice music in fact.

Cuban cuisine

By Stephanie D |

We've only been to this restaurant twice. The ambience has a Miami feel to it and at night they have live entertainment. The food and the coconut mojitos were excellent both times we ate there. Will definitely go back again to try something different.

Nice Surprise

By Mike O |

Very clean restaurant, attentive service and good food. We had a very nice lunch at the Cuba Cafe. The Cuban sandwich was very nice. Made with traditional Cuban bread was a special treat. The only negative about the sandwich was it seemed to have a mustard/ mayo mix instead of just yellow mustard. The Sopa de pollo was very good as well, full of potatoes and chicken, more like stew instead of soup. Also the empanada was quite good, though I don't think very Cuban. The staff was very friendly and attentive. All the tables except ours had linen napkins, don't know why, but oh well. Will definitely be back.

Comida cubana?...lo mejor el mojito

By Mara K |

Cuban food?....the best? Mojito!! (Rum and mint) The food is good, the place is good, music good but the mojito is the best.

Authentic Cuban in the desert

By Michelle Q |

Little family owned place, doesn't look like much from the outside but the food was amazing and authentic. I've lived in South Florida and this was definitely comperable to the great Cuban food I've had there. The prices are fair and the portions were perfect. They definitely know how to marinade and cook with the savory Latin American spices and flavors. I'll be back there when I return to Vegas for sure.

Don't know why I waited so long

Went in on a Saturday for lunch. We loved the atmosphere and the food was very good. We plan on going back soon to try their dinner menu.

What a treat! Ceviche! and standard Cuban food

By fritomann |

Driving east on Tropicana on our way to a Las Vegas road trip January 12, 2015, early in the morning, we spotted the Cuba Café 'Tapas and Bar' sign. We decided on our way back that evening to try it. We both love Cuban food, having lived in Miami, FL for some time. I ordered ceviche because they had it, Cuban style. "It is the best," the waitress assured us, and it was very good. Shrimp and mahi mahi, marinated as usual but with added diced tomatoes in the dish, and platano chips on the side. A sizeable portion for about 9 dollars. We also shared a media noche (sandwich), very filling and good and good value. My wife wanted frijoles negros con arroz (white rice) and the lemonade was killer good. All for about 20 dollars. Excellente! Some genuine Cuban locals were starting to come in around dinner time. In my opinion, the highest recommendation for a restaurant is their local clientele. Fine food, great service and reasonable prices. We hope to be able to go back some day. While we're waiting, you should give it a try.

Authentic Cuban

By jdotchin |

Great Cuban food, we go here for lunch once a month, the new location doesn't have the charm of the old place but is much cleaner and there is much more room.

Good location for Cuban food if you're not downtown

By FoodieLVNV |

Moving from Tampa, I despaired of getting real Cuban food in Las Vegas. This is a very good attempt to replicate what I miss so much. Authentic Cuban bread and sandwiches, good ropa vieja and fried plantains, decent black bean/rice soup. Cuban roast pork - just OK, a little fatty. The yuca is just OK, too. Nice avocado salad. The temp in this small restaurant tends to be too warm but the only other Cuban restaurant of note is downtown and since traffic is a nightmare here, it's good to have this location just east of the South Strip. Handicapped access is doable but not great. And the prices? Cheap!

Great Cuban Food but not consistent

By mfarrell82 |

This was my husband's and my second time going to Cuba Cafe. We found Cuba Cafe through restaurants.com in April and fell in love with the place. We went back recently (mid May) and did not have the same experience. The wait to get food, not to sit down, there should not be a wait to sit, is very long. You have to wait for 8-13 min. to get a soda. Which are cans they pour in glasses. I orded a coke and got a refill and they charged me for 2 cokes, as I figured they would when I saw them pouring the can. On both occasions we waited over a half hour just to get our bread. Which is increadable. You can tell that they make it fresh for you, which takes time. It;s light and buttery and tasts awesome. But unfortionatly, the most recent time I went there the bread was not as good. It was hard and did not have the same savory flavors. We ordered an appatizer both times, because we had Restaurant.com voucher, and waited even longer for them after eating the bread. Both times we ordered empanadas for our appitizer and both times they were good, they were not the same size. It seems like we only got one the first time and two the second. They were crispy and filled with yummy seasoned chicken and cheese. Then we waited and waited For our entree's, I had Peanut Butter/Chipotle pasta. I loved it! The spice wasn't too hot and the peanut butter gave it some salt and sweetness. It seemed very similar to a Tai dish. Tip if you do not eat meat. I ordered this dish because it was advertized as a pasta dish and sauce, no mention of meat. When you get the dish, it has chicken in it. I do not eat pork or beef but I do eat chicken so it was ok. I was still shocked the second time I got it because I had forgot. This most recent trip, I ordered the same dish and it was terrible. The pasta was so dry it was hard to tell if they even put sauce on it. The pasta was way to Aldente, they were hard, and I could barley taste any flavor other than hot. This item is not on the menu they have on their web site so I can not tell you prices. This is not the same as the menu in the restaurant unless they have changed it in the last few weeks. My husband had the Cuban sandwich and loved it. The bread was sweet and buttery and perfectly toasted. It was made with high quality meat and flavorful cheese and filled enough to satisfy, they defently do not over-stuff them. He says every bite was flavorful and delishous. It is also one of the cheaper items on the item and one of the best. It was much better than the Ropa Vieja Steak, which was low quality meat and not that great, that he got the first time.My husband said that the beer selection is limited. They have some standard Mexican beers like Corona and Modelo. I would be tempted to go back, I really hope they can stay consistent b/c when they do it right, it is incredible. I will post again if I go back. By the way, the restaurant is pretty small, so it may not be good for large groups, but they were not busy either time we went so getting a table is not a problem.

Pleasant Surprise

By pspoker |

Three of us went there just to see what it was like. The place is very nice inside even though the parking lot doesn't look like much. We got there about 6pm, and by the time we left (maybe 7pm?) it was starting to fill up. There was a special that we later were told was most nights the same. It was a small filet, rice and beans, and the steak was in a pepper sherry sauce. My two friends both got this. I got the Lechon Asado (pork) with yellow rice. It was to come with beans and rice but they let me substitute the yellow rice. Also served to the table was a kind of warm, puffy bread. Crisp on the outside, and soft and wonderful inside. My pork was tremendous. Couldn't ask for more. I'd recommend NOT getting a side salad (extra cost). We didn't and I'm glad as I was full afterwards. I did try my friends steaks. Wow! Melt in your mouth nice! I highly recommend both meals. I'm not sure how cuban the steak is, but it was superb. The steal meal was $15.49 I believe. My pork dish was $15.95. I'll tell you what. I'll definitely be back and recommend that people try this place. Service was a bit slow, especially since it was not crowded, but worth it. Again, it was nice inside. I'd NOT recommend shorts or t-shirt. But jeans and a button up shirt is perfect.

Too delicious to not go

If you don’t visit this place during your time in Las Vegas, you will be missing a choice of high quality foods. Too delicious to believe.

Nice Dinner

By Robert R |

This place if off the Strip, has above average food, and decent prices (more like a locals place). My wife and I had the following and our ratings (1 - 5 scale) were: 5 - Pitcher of Sangria - Very good and plenty of it 4 - Tamales appetizer - My wife really liked and I sort of liked (I am not a tamales fan) 4 - Dinner salad - Good mixture. Salad dressing was a little too sweet. I had asked for it on the side but it came already mixed. Waitress offered to correct but I declined. Live and learn 5 - Camarones de enchilada - My wife's entree which she really liked 4 - Aropa vieja (shredded beef) - First time I have tried this entree. Not bad. 3 - Flan for dessert. Nothing to write home about. Overall the service was good and prices were very reasonable. Definitely will come back on our next Vegas trip. We went on a weekday and the place was nice and quiet. Weekends may be different since there is a stage and dance floor in a corner of the place - so there probably is music then.

Mostly perfect

Great service, huge portions, inexpensive, fresh, clean, welcoming staff. Espresso not the best. Mostly perfect…,.

I don't know anything about Cuban food, but this was good

By Jake M |

My cousin who lives in Las Vegas loves this restaurant and when I came to visit, she insisted that we go there. I didn't know what to expect, because I didn't know anything about Cuban food, but the meal was delicious. We had the lamb chops, a huge avocado salad, mushrooms in brandy and fried plantains. I don't know if any of the dishes were authentic Cuban, but they all tasted great. The waitress was very friendly and very helpful. We were there early, but I was told that later in the evening they have musicians playing Cuban music. There are very many amazing places to eat in Las Vegas, but the Cube Cafe is certainly one of them.
